- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, what are boxing fans. This is the Rope of
- 0:05Speaker 1: Dope radio podcast. I am your host, Chris Carlson. We
- 0:08Speaker 1: are live on a Tuesday night, if you can believe it.
- 0:11Speaker 1: John will be joining us very shortly on the show tonight.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We'll catch up with John just in general, give his
- 0:21Speaker 1: thoughts on some past fights since we last talked to him,
- 0:28Speaker 1: the paramount deal with zoof of Boxing, and many other
- 0:32Speaker 1: details that some of them have gone over, whether it
- 0:36Speaker 1: comes to a number of you know, fighters that they're
- 0:41Speaker 1: going to target right or potentially the ring design change
- 0:46Speaker 1: or even potentially a rule change, because he did say
- 0:51Speaker 1: you can't rule that out. But now we have a
- 0:55Speaker 1: little bit more, even more detail on the contracts as
- 1:02Speaker 1: far as how they're going to do it, and there's
- 1:04Speaker 1: questions to be asked. Will kind of follow up on
- 1:07Speaker 1: the c s a c rubber stamping the act last week,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and I'll follow up with some people that message being
- 1:20Speaker 1: on a variety of subjects. Yeah, So, like I said,
- 1:26Speaker 1: we have a little bit more information on details, whether
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's the length of the contract, you know, an advisory
- 1:40Speaker 1: LLC that you must sign to, just rules, you know,
- 1:49Speaker 1: stipulations in the contract that some of them kind of
- 1:56Speaker 1: make a scratch your head. There are current things that
- 2:00Speaker 1: are you know, items that are in in contracts that
- 2:04Speaker 1: can make your you know, can make you scratch your
- 2:06Speaker 1: head already, but a couple of them are like huh wow.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So we're gonna talk it through. Like I said last week,
- 2:16Speaker 1: it was on a Wednesday afternoon, I had limited time
- 2:21Speaker 1: to do a show. I was listening to the hearing
- 2:26Speaker 1: or the quote unquote you know hearing, even though the
- 2:31Speaker 1: night before, as we know, there was already you know,
- 2:36Speaker 1: it was already a done deal. Basically, the recommendation was
- 2:40Speaker 1: already there. It was just a matter. It was just
- 2:43Speaker 1: a formality basically. That's basically what that was. But we'll
- 2:50Speaker 1: talk about it, you know, Like I said, I had
- 2:52Speaker 1: heard some of it, but then I had a limited
- 2:55Speaker 1: time to do the show, so I popped on. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: did get a mess said from somebody saying why I
- 3:01Speaker 1: didn't call in that that's a fair question. I'll talk
- 3:05Speaker 1: about that and just some other items that folks contacted
- 3:10Speaker 1: me with. But yeah, we're gonna talk it, talk it through.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Of course, we'll talk a little bit of recap from
- 3:17Speaker 1: the weekend. Laddell scored a nice win over Conway. Danny
- 3:23Speaker 1: Garcia came back with his left hook special he may
- 3:27Speaker 1: not be done or as Nary Plata, I thought was
- 3:30Speaker 1: a very competitive fight, could have went either way. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: believe it was a majority. Yeah, it was a majority
- 3:38Speaker 1: win decision. And we had a crazy, crazy, crazy round
- 3:48Speaker 1: as well that happened a first round. It was just nuts.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And of course we'll preview and predict the Joseph Parker
- 3:56Speaker 1: Fabio Wardley fight guard there are some other fights. The
- 4:03Speaker 1: undercard definitely not up to the standard that we've seen
- 4:08Speaker 1: in recent pay per views. I guess you could say
- 4:12Speaker 1: pretty poor, piss poor, like you know, the old schoolers
- 4:17Speaker 1: used to say, it's a piss poor undercard. But I
- 4:21Speaker 1: am interested in the Parker Wardly fight. I think it's
- 4:25Speaker 1: a very good fight. I think Wardley is a very
- 4:28Speaker 1: live dog. I think I think a plus number you
- 4:33Speaker 1: know is available, I probably will take it. I haven't
- 4:37Speaker 1: made the bet, but I do think it's worthy. You
- 4:40Speaker 1: may back it up with you know, a decision win
- 4:46Speaker 1: for Parker. We'll talk about it. Parker Wardley very good fight,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and like I said, recap and some other items as well.
- 4:56Speaker 1: If this is your first time listening, to the rope
- 4:58Speaker 1: a Dope radio podcast. Well them, it streams live on
- 5:04Speaker 1: Apple Podcasts. I always say streams live, and so I

- 5:14Speaker 1: While you're at it, head on over to the Gruelingtooth

- 5:51Speaker 1: of them. Eighty nine ninety nine for the first month. Okay,
- 5:56Speaker 1: that's Direct t B. I'm gonna go ahead, and you know,
- 6:03Speaker 1: we'll see where John's at. He's kind of a he's
- 6:07Speaker 1: a busy guy, obviously, and so we'll see if he
- 6:10Speaker 1: if he if he pops in here in a second,
- 6:13Speaker 1: then we'll kind of just jump into stuff I'll start
- 6:19Speaker 1: with a little bit, you know of recap if not,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and and then I'll follow it up with a little
- 6:26Speaker 1: recap on the back end of the John segment. Okay,
- 6:32Speaker 1: so he should be should be popping in here soon.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I will kind of say, just off the bat conway, Leadard,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I guess Leadard. They said he's the youngest British champ.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Now is that the youngest ever or just youngest currently?
- 6:50Speaker 1: The way they were saying it, it was saying the
- 6:52Speaker 1: youngest ever. Anyway. They were singing that song walking around
- 6:59Speaker 1: in a winter Underland, except they had the remix. Now
- 7:02Speaker 1: I can't sing that song because you know, as we know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: there's only one Ricky Hatton, so you're not gonna catch
- 7:07Speaker 1: me singing that song. But Laddard looked good. I bet
- 7:12Speaker 1: against or I picked against him. I thought it was
- 7:18Speaker 1: it was a very good performance by the young George Laddard.
- 7:22Speaker 1: He came out with the jab and some kind of
- 7:25Speaker 1: short shots to the body in the first round, the
- 7:31Speaker 1: second round, more jabs. He was just landing better the
- 7:34Speaker 1: short the short punches on the inside. He did a
- 7:37Speaker 1: good job at something that kind of surprised me that
- 7:41Speaker 1: he would get away with it. I don't know, you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: some of the things I highlighted highlighted about him as
- 7:46Speaker 1: far as a quote unquote weakness. Every fighter has weaknesses.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I think it still may be exposed at some point,
- 7:56Speaker 1: but it's just gonna take a higher level than Conway.
- 7:59Speaker 1: What I was gonna say, though, is I did like
- 8:01Speaker 1: his on the inside. He had some pretty good upper
- 8:05Speaker 1: body movement, staying close, staying out of range, resting his
- 8:10Speaker 1: ear and head kind of on the shoulder, staying out
- 8:13Speaker 1: of range, but yet staying within range to punch. The
- 8:18Speaker 1: third round, I just thought overall, you know, there were
- 8:21Speaker 1: some decent, decent, excuse me, lands by Conway, but I
- 8:24Speaker 1: still gave it to uh. I just thought the better
- 8:27Speaker 1: lands in the third round, what we're still a dard.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I did give Conway some rounds, including the fourth round,
- 8:35Speaker 1: and early left hook and just left hooks in general,
- 8:38Speaker 1: actually jabs and then more like a nice right hand
- 8:42Speaker 1: and more left hooks in the last part was enough
- 8:45Speaker 1: for me to give him that one. I thought that
- 8:48Speaker 1: the fifth round was very competitive. I think you could
- 8:51Speaker 1: kind of make a case for both the fifth and
- 8:53Speaker 1: the sixth were very close, you know, like I thought,
- 9:01Speaker 1: in those round rounds. Conway did get in some clean
- 9:04Speaker 1: shots to the head and body the jab and hooks
- 9:07Speaker 1: from Laddard, so you could probably split those rounds. I
- 9:11Speaker 1: did give the seventh to Ldard and then I gave
- 9:14Speaker 1: the although it was just kind of Conaway was finding
- 9:18Speaker 1: limited success in the eighth, I thought it was enough
- 9:21Speaker 1: to give him the round. And then the ninth round
- 9:25Speaker 1: of one two right off the bat lands hard and
- 9:30Speaker 1: there's a knockdown and he didn't really follow up with
- 9:32Speaker 1: a big shot. But Conway, I don't know if he
- 9:35Speaker 1: hurt like his hand or his arm or the elbow
- 9:38Speaker 1: or something, but he was kinda at first he was
- 9:42Speaker 1: kind of holding it, you know, as if he had
- 9:44Speaker 1: gotten hit low. But then you could kind of see
- 9:47Speaker 1: something was up there, and I'm not he also got
- 9:49Speaker 1: cut below the right icon on the cheek area. I'm
- 9:52Speaker 1: not making any excuse like, oh, he heard his hand,
- 9:55Speaker 1: that's why the fight's over. But it was a one
- 9:57Speaker 1: two that landed really hard, especially the two, and like
- 10:02Speaker 1: I said, like Conway kind of squatted down and wasn't
- 10:05Speaker 1: fully down. It was kind of a weird thing where
- 10:09Speaker 1: le Dard was still kind of punching him when he
- 10:11Speaker 1: was down, but he did get up and he landed
- 10:18Speaker 1: a few few shots back, even though it was a
- 10:23Speaker 1: clear loss in the round a ten eight round, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: there was a nice upper cut, a decent uppercut anyway,
- 10:30Speaker 1: and you know, you could kind of tell pretty early
- 10:35Speaker 1: that Conway wasn't in good shape, whether he was hurt alone,
- 10:40Speaker 1: just buzzed hurt, or the combination of hurt from the
- 10:45Speaker 1: punches and also, like I said, I couldn't really tell,
- 10:49Speaker 1: but it kind of looked like something wrist arm, elbow, hand,
- 10:54Speaker 1: I don't know, but these things happen right in the fight.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But the corner threw in the tonnel in the tenth round,
- 11:02Speaker 1: I thought it was just a really really good, you
- 11:05Speaker 1: know display. He looked very good. So shots out to
- 11:11Speaker 1: George Leadard. I thought he definitely did his thing. He
- 11:16Speaker 1: looked really good. Shannon Ryan ended up winning over Chloe Watson,
- 11:20Speaker 1: but you know, it was like one of those things
- 11:24Speaker 1: that it was a it was a head clash, you know,
- 11:27Speaker 1: it was a head clash. I think it was a
- 11:30Speaker 1: right eye. It puffed up pretty bad, and so they
- 11:33Speaker 1: had to stop at Jimmy Sands one as well, So
- 11:37Speaker 1: that sucks. So Shannon Ryan Chloe Watson. I was looking
- 11:40Speaker 1: forward to that fight, not that you know, we didn't
- 11:43Speaker 1: get a whole lot out of it. Obviously, you can
- 11:45Speaker 1: only take so much of it. Now that I think
- 11:48Speaker 1: Shannon Ryan, you know, was winning the fight, Yeah, I did.
- 11:53Speaker 1: But we can't go too I wouldn't say we can
- 11:57Speaker 1: go too deep into it just because you know, but yeah, overall,
- 12:04Speaker 1: like I love that that venue, you know, the Your
- 12:07Speaker 1: Call has always been one of my favorite UK venues
- 12:11Speaker 1: because it's so intimate. It's just a great place to
- 12:16Speaker 1: watch a fight. I've never watched the fight there. I've
- 12:19Speaker 1: talked to many people about it. I've seen people show me,
- 12:25Speaker 1: you know, videos from the venue and just being like, wow, dude,
- 12:30Speaker 1: it kind of gives me the Armory vibe because you're
- 12:32Speaker 1: right up on it and they have the balcony, which
- 12:37Speaker 1: I think would be a dope you place to watch
- 12:40Speaker 1: the fight at the Armory. There's really no bad spot.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But I love the bird's eye, so the cameraman and
- 12:45Speaker 1: the rest don't get in the way as much. That's
- 12:49Speaker 1: the thing sometimes when you're up close, especially if you
- 12:52Speaker 1: sit behind some big ass dude or something where you're
- 12:55Speaker 1: just like I can't see over them. You know, I'm
- 12:58Speaker 1: not short, but I wouldn't classic, you know, classified myself
- 13:01Speaker 1: as super dull either. So yeah, I love the venue.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I definitely love the venue. Oh there was this round
- 13:13Speaker 1: right first round, just crazy shit, crazy crazy stuff, like
- 13:25Speaker 1: it was just so much shit happened. So war As
- 13:34Speaker 1: won the fight, but just so much shit happened. I
- 13:41Speaker 1: couldn't believe what was happening in front of my eyes.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It was Laighton, it was Sebastian war As and DeMarcus Layton,
- 13:51Speaker 1: and I mean all hell broke loose. Okay, so right
- 13:57Speaker 1: from the jump, war As watchable right directly in No
- 14:01Speaker 1: Nito do Nair called it walked right into a right
- 14:05Speaker 1: hand dropped and he looked bad. He you know, the
- 14:10Speaker 1: refs like, hey, I didn't. He was like walking towards
- 14:14Speaker 1: his opponent and Laighton and it was kind of like
- 14:21Speaker 1: but it almost seemed like he was going to his
- 14:23Speaker 1: corner too. It was just a weird It's like, hey,
- 14:25Speaker 1: d what do you what are you doing? You're good man,
- 14:27Speaker 1: Like there are some refs that would have stopped that,
- 14:30Speaker 1: right and then and in these scenarios, I don't like
- 14:35Speaker 1: when people hold the whole time right. But when you're hurt.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I don't. It is what it is, and credit to
- 14:42Speaker 1: the ref because he was bear hugging him. He was
- 14:45Speaker 1: bear hugging him. He got called not once but twice
- 14:49Speaker 1: from for holding, So that was pretty cool that they
- 14:55Speaker 1: just jumped right on it and called it. But he
- 14:59Speaker 1: was bear hugging him. I think somebody said, ah, he
- 15:01Speaker 1: pushed his head down. Now to do with Baron. Warres
- 15:04Speaker 1: was bear hugging, and I don't blame him, right, you know,
- 15:11Speaker 1: just just holding. So he gets called for holding twice,
- 15:15Speaker 1: landing another big right hand, multiple big right hands, and
- 15:20Speaker 1: then war As you know, lands his shot. I think
- 15:26Speaker 1: it was a it was a left hand, and he
- 15:29Speaker 1: drops him and you're like, holy no, I think it
- 15:32Speaker 1: was it was a right I think it was either
- 15:34Speaker 1: a let it was a two punch colm left right
- 15:36Speaker 1: hand or right hand left buck. I couldn't remember. Then
- 15:39Speaker 1: he on the second time. So then all of a sudden,
- 15:43Speaker 1: you know, like Lighton looks not great. You know, both
- 15:47Speaker 1: of them don't look good. But obviously adrenaline's kicking for Warres,
- 15:51Speaker 1: and he drops him with another right hand, and then
- 15:56Speaker 1: you're like, oh, dude, he's in trouble because he was
- 15:59Speaker 1: all up on the rope, like the rope was holding
- 16:01Speaker 1: them up, but he like it was bad. It was
- 16:05Speaker 1: he looked the legs were gone, and then he hit
- 16:09Speaker 1: him with it, I believe, another right hand and it
- 16:12Speaker 1: was over right at the buzzer. Basically just a crazy, crazy,
- 16:19Speaker 1: crazy first round. So Sebastian Warrez got the job done.
- 16:28Speaker 1: That was nuts, dude. Shane Metcalf and Rosato or Teaz,
- 16:35Speaker 1: that was a very competitive fight. I shaded it to shade,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but it was close. Seventy eight to seventy four, seventy eight,
- 16:41Speaker 1: seventy four and seventy seven seventy five. I was more
- 16:44Speaker 1: on the seventy eight seventy five or seventy seven and
- 16:47Speaker 1: seventy five than I was seventy eight seventy four. I
- 16:49Speaker 1: would have been okay with a draw. I did see
- 16:53Speaker 1: a fair amount of people though on boxing Twitter with
- 16:56Speaker 1: the Rosatta Ortiz, you know, favoring her. I thought that, like,
- 17:02Speaker 1: like first round, you know, Rosatto started really well, Rosotto Ortiz,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but then I thought Megcalf put like maybe three three
- 17:15Speaker 1: to four rounds you know, in in the in the
- 17:20Speaker 1: in the books. I guess you could say I thought
- 17:24Speaker 1: so she got off to a good jump. But then
- 17:27Speaker 1: if you gave you know, Rosetta, it all kind of
- 17:30Speaker 1: matters Rosatto or tease. How many rounds you gave her
- 17:33Speaker 1: early and then Lake did you? Did she close six,
- 17:37Speaker 1: seven and eight? If not, you probably didn't have her
- 17:41Speaker 1: win it. But it was close. I mean, it deserves
- 17:46Speaker 1: a rematch in my opinion. Like I said, I kind
- 17:50Speaker 1: of wish it would have been a draw. And honestly,
- 17:54Speaker 1: there was a majority of decision in the main event
- 17:57Speaker 1: of Warres and very uh Plaza, and actually let me
- 18:04Speaker 1: see the scorecards here, so ninety six ninety four for
- 18:08Speaker 1: two cards were ninety six ninety four and then one
- 18:11Speaker 1: headed to draw. I would have been okay with the draw.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Ninety six ninety four either way was fine with me.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I had to draw ordinary Plaza, but then again I
- 18:23Speaker 1: picked her, so maybe I'm a little biased. I thought
- 18:26Speaker 1: that Warrez got off to a good start in the
- 18:28Speaker 1: first round, and really just in general, I gave her
- 18:33Speaker 1: let me see, three, three out of the first four rounds,
- 18:39Speaker 1: and then I thought it became pretty competitive back and
- 18:43Speaker 1: forth there, you know, like sixth round, eighth round, ninth round,
- 18:51Speaker 1: I gave to Narry Plaza. I thought there was a
- 18:54Speaker 1: round in there, probably two swing rounds, you know. I
- 19:00Speaker 1: I did give Warres the last round. I thought the
- 19:04Speaker 1: seventh was pretty close, so you know, it was close.
- 19:08Speaker 1: It was very close, and at least the scorecards represented that,
- 19:12Speaker 1: you know, ninety six ninety four two of them and
- 19:15Speaker 1: one of them had a draw. I thought that was
- 19:17Speaker 1: at least fair, you know what I mean. I thought
- 19:19Speaker 1: that was at least fair. So I didn't have a
- 19:23Speaker 1: major problem with the scoring at all. But I kind
- 19:26Speaker 1: of favored you know, Nary Plot that win in that.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But that's just me, you know, maybe other people had
- 19:33Speaker 1: it different. Obviously the judges had it different. But yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 1: both those fights, I would like to see a rematch,
- 19:39Speaker 1: you know. And overall, I thought it was a pretty
- 19:44Speaker 1: good card, you know. I thought it was some good action.
- 19:51Speaker 1: And then Danny Garcia, who he wasn't he's not quite
- 19:56Speaker 1: sure if he's done, That's what he said. I'm not
- 20:01Speaker 1: quite sure if I'm done, so but he I think
- 20:09Speaker 1: it was the fourth round he hit him with the
- 20:13Speaker 1: left hook special a drop Gonzalez. You know, I've always
- 20:19Speaker 1: I've always liked Danny Garcia. I talked about this last
- 20:22Speaker 1: week a little bit. I think that, you know, like
- 20:28Speaker 1: casual fans with the with the rob Sulkle thing. I
- 20:33Speaker 1: just think it's overblown. Like I get it, the scenario
- 20:37Speaker 1: of coming off a huge high of beating Matisse and
- 20:43Speaker 1: then many people thought Mauricio Herrera beat him. But you know,
- 20:47Speaker 1: I thought Herrera was very much an underdog in that.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Well he wasn't underdog fight, but I thought he was
- 20:52Speaker 1: a live dog in that fight. I thought he was
- 20:54Speaker 1: kind of disrespected, as if this is just because it
- 20:58Speaker 1: was a homecoming fight, you know, Inlo Rico, and I
- 21:01Speaker 1: did like, the dude doesn't have much power, but he
- 21:04Speaker 1: had skill. Man, you know, he definitely had skill in it.
- 21:08Speaker 1: You know, he had had a fight with like Alverado
- 21:13Speaker 1: and Mayfield and a couple other good fighters prior to that,
- 21:18Speaker 1: and he's a good fighter, you know. So I I
- 21:23Speaker 1: I didn't see that as a bad fight, but you know,
- 21:26Speaker 1: people got down on it just and they didn't like
- 21:29Speaker 1: the fight. But then you know it goes back to oh,
- 21:31Speaker 1: I don't like the opponent, but then all of a
- 21:34Speaker 1: sudden it's tight and you're like, oh, Herrera got screwed. Well,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I thought you said he didn't like the opponent, you
- 21:39Speaker 1: know which one is it, but Rod Solka is one
- 21:44Speaker 1: that you know or the you know, by the time
- 21:46Speaker 1: they fought Polymon and Agi was past it. I get
- 21:50Speaker 1: the Salka on Melan Aji. But in between that, it's
- 21:52Speaker 1: Lamont Peterson, even Robert Carrell. That was like that was
- 21:58Speaker 1: I think that was a Fox fight if I remember correctly,
- 22:03Speaker 1: But it was like an eight to four fight. It
- 22:05Speaker 1: you know, it was a good like a good TV fight.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I thought it was very competitive. That was you know,
- 22:13Speaker 1: Guerra had fought Thurman, looked good down in the stretch
- 22:17Speaker 1: of that fight after you know, hitting the deck and
- 22:20Speaker 1: not looking good and actually in his fight after that,
- 22:23Speaker 1: Guerra I think it was on NBC during the afternoon.
- 22:26Speaker 1: It was that weird afternoon show or no, that was CBS.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I think. Anyway, he looked pretty bad in that fight,
- 22:33Speaker 1: but then turned around and put a pretty good performance
- 22:36Speaker 1: on you know. But yeah, I mean, you know, so
- 22:41Speaker 1: Samuel Vargas getting ready for Keith Thurman. You know, it
- 22:44Speaker 1: is what it is, you know, but he fought Keith
- 22:47Speaker 1: Thurman right after it. Brandon Rios, okay, but he fought
- 22:52Speaker 1: Porter right after it. Grenados was on a hot streak
- 22:54Speaker 1: at the time. I get the red catch. Oh he
- 22:57Speaker 1: fought Red Catch. You know he was off for a
- 22:59Speaker 1: little okay, cool, Well, they fought Spence the very next fight,
- 23:03Speaker 1: even the the Jose Bena Vitez Junior fight. He fought
- 23:07Speaker 1: Laura the next fight. You know. So I just I
- 23:11Speaker 1: always thought and like I said, they didn't. They didn't
- 23:14Speaker 1: like baby him coming up. So I always thought that
- 23:19Speaker 1: Danny get the short end of the stick when it
- 23:21Speaker 1: came to like, I don't know, just like his like
- 23:27Speaker 1: I said, he fought solid fighters. You know, his first
- 23:29Speaker 1: two major fights, he was a sizeable underdog against Connie Was.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I can't remember exactly, but I think he was like
- 23:38Speaker 1: a four to one. I know he's a three to one.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Definitely a three to one against Mattias because I have
- 23:44Speaker 1: won money on it. So yeah, I just it's a
- 23:51Speaker 1: little ramp that I have with Danny. Like I think,
- 23:54Speaker 1: if you just put his names out there, win, loser, draw,
- 23:59Speaker 1: it's a good list, dude, and he has some good wins,
- 24:03Speaker 1: especially at one forty. You know, a lot of people
- 24:05Speaker 1: didn't like how he took his time to get to
- 24:08Speaker 1: welter weight, but you know, then we also see plenty
- 24:12Speaker 1: of times that people jump up too quick and then
- 24:17Speaker 1: they say, oh, you should have you should have taken
- 24:18Speaker 1: your time, you should have fought a catch weight, you
- 24:20Speaker 1: should you know. So I don't know. I just think
- 24:22Speaker 1: Danny garcia is is is very underrated, like very very underrated.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So it's nice to see him come back or whatever.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, I just saw like highlights of it.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I wasn't going to buy that bay per view. I'm
- 24:37Speaker 1: just full disclosure. I didn't live stream it and steal
- 24:43Speaker 1: it or anything like that. Excuse me, but you know,
- 24:49Speaker 1: it is what it is, you know. So but the
- 24:53Speaker 1: way he said, you know, I'm I have my health,
- 24:57Speaker 1: my family. But he left the door open. I mean,
- 25:02Speaker 1: this is boxing, right, like people who leave the door
- 25:06Speaker 1: open all the time. That's just that's just a fact,
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it is what it is.
- 25:14Speaker 1: You know, if he fights again, more power to him.
- 25:21Speaker 1: You know, we'll we'll see, we'll see what exactly happens
- 25:25Speaker 1: with that. But you know, he's a name. He would
- 25:29Speaker 1: be a good opponent for somebody, that's for sure. Now,
- 25:34Speaker 1: it would have to be the right kind of money,
- 25:36Speaker 1: I think for Danny to come back as an opponent,
- 25:39Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I don't know it.
- 25:46Speaker 1: You know, it is what it is. I really don't
- 25:48Speaker 1: know what exactly, you know, what exactly his plans are
- 25:53Speaker 1: going to be. But either way, you know he he's
- 26:01Speaker 1: aid he had a really great career. Man, A lot
- 26:03Speaker 1: of people would love to have his career. I think
- 26:07Speaker 1: it just gets severely underrated most There was another big
- 26:12Speaker 1: ass body shot from Mosqueta. I think it is someone
- 26:20Speaker 1: actually actually was his own boxing home run body shot.
- 26:25Speaker 1: That's a good way to describe that body shot. Someone
- 26:28Speaker 1: actually sent me there because that was in that WBC
- 26:33Speaker 1: Grand Prix. Someone sent me a video of it. Yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 1: that was that was a home run body shot. That
- 26:42Speaker 1: that was nasty. That was definitely nasty. Chris Cobert one,
- 26:50Speaker 1: Uh what else? Mariso Lara beat? Uh, you know, a
- 26:58Speaker 1: freaking journeyman. Now, Miguel Ro no offense to either one
- 27:01Speaker 1: of No, I'm not you know, I did see a
- 27:05Speaker 1: tweet that said veteran contender. I mean, I don't know
- 27:10Speaker 1: if I'd have Miguel Roman as a as a contender
- 27:13Speaker 1: at featherweight right now. Personally, you had Chop Chop Gonzalez
- 27:18Speaker 1: and Baiez Chop Chop you know, did his thing. So yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 1: I mean, you know it was there was some decent fights,
- 27:29Speaker 1: some competitive fights, you know. I mean I did think
- 27:32Speaker 1: I got a you know, full disclosure, I did think that,
- 27:39Speaker 1: you know, Liddel and Conway would be a really competitive fight.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I have to fully admit that, you know, and it wasn't. Yeah,
- 27:48Speaker 1: I mean in spots it was, but not really, you know,
- 27:51Speaker 1: not really at all. That was a really good performance.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Also Hernandez Yo Nelly, he was that. Yeah, he had
- 28:05Speaker 1: a first round knockout, didn't he. And I think that
- 28:13Speaker 1: about wraps it up. Like I said, John's a little
- 28:20Speaker 1: busy right now, so I will kind of go into
- 28:27Speaker 1: some follow up off the California State Athletic Commission. You know,
- 28:30Speaker 1: they had that that that meeting, which like I said,
- 28:40Speaker 1: you know, it was it was a formality, you know,
- 28:44Speaker 1: that's basically what it was. Once I saw, you know,
- 28:47Speaker 1: they they originally had that meeting and then or the
- 28:52Speaker 1: hearing whatever meeting to vote on something and then or
- 28:57Speaker 1: to vote on the act right if they you know,
- 29:01Speaker 1: suggest it, recommend it and give their recommendation or whatever.
- 29:05Speaker 1: And then they did get some pushback, right, Ah, Matt
- 29:15Speaker 1: from brunch Boxing, uh, Jake, a variety of people, right,
- 29:23Speaker 1: And they said that, well, basically they're gonna go on
- 29:27Speaker 1: like a fact finding, you know. And the thing is
- 29:31Speaker 1: is like, once you have already kind of fact find already,
- 29:38Speaker 1: now there's there's definitely hearings and meetings that you kind
- 29:42Speaker 1: of come together to get the ball rolling on something.
- 29:45Speaker 1: And then you a lot of people talk and then
- 29:48Speaker 1: you say, okay, we're gonna readjoin or readjourn this, you
- 29:52Speaker 1: know thing. And that's what they said, and said, all right,
- 29:54Speaker 1: we're gonna go We're gonna push it to December. We're
- 29:58Speaker 1: gonna you know, find some facts and do that type
- 30:04Speaker 1: of thing and uh and we'll be back. And then
- 30:07Speaker 1: all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I see Tuesday
- 30:12Speaker 1: night that they're gonna have the the postponement meeting where
- 30:19Speaker 1: they recommend you know, they vote on the recommendation on Wednesday.
- 30:26Speaker 1: And so I did watch it a chunk of it
- 30:31Speaker 1: that day. And the reason why that someone asked me
- 30:34Speaker 1: why I didn't call in the first time. I wasn't
- 30:38Speaker 1: able to call in, you know, things that I do
- 30:42Speaker 1: to pay the bills. I may be able to retweet
- 30:46Speaker 1: or tweet something or something like that, but I'm not
- 30:51Speaker 1: able to like be on my phone for you know,
- 30:58Speaker 1: rather maybe like I said, a retweet something quick. But
- 31:00Speaker 1: I'm not able to when I'm doing what I do,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I don't. I can't. A lot of times I'm just
- 31:07Speaker 1: locked up. I can't. I can't be on my phone,
- 31:09Speaker 1: you know. And so the first time that's why the
- 31:13Speaker 1: second time I was thinking about it, but with the
- 31:17Speaker 1: knowledge of the night before, seeing that they basically, like
- 31:24Speaker 1: I said, this was just a this is just a formality,
- 31:28Speaker 1: seeing that the record, you know, seeing the paperwork, you know,
- 31:33Speaker 1: for the recommendation the night before. And I believe, if
- 31:37Speaker 1: I remember correctly, that they even dated John Nash they
- 31:44Speaker 1: uh tweeted this. They even dated it, you know, literally
- 31:51Speaker 1: the day of, like they literally so the night before
- 31:57Speaker 1: they were already giving their recommendation. So what's the point
- 32:00Speaker 1: of the meeting? Well, as a formality, that's what the
- 32:03Speaker 1: point of it is. Here's what he tweeted. I think
- 32:06Speaker 1: I said this on the show, is the fix in
- 32:08Speaker 1: already and tomorrow's uh, you know CSA meeting CSA C,
- 32:13Speaker 1: I should say, seems like a subcommittee. That's supposed to
- 32:16Speaker 1: report back in December, has already made up its mind,
- 32:21Speaker 1: and he you know, he recommendation. Right, That's that's what
- 32:26Speaker 1: it says. The Subcommittee recommends that the Commission issue a
- 32:32Speaker 1: formal statement of support for the Muhammad Ali American Boxing
- 32:37Speaker 1: Revival Act with a strong recommend recommendation to accept and
- 32:42Speaker 1: amend the bill to include the UCLA loyal Marymont University
- 32:48Speaker 1: recommendation of a state level cost of living increase for
- 32:53Speaker 1: the minimum purse and minimum in church requirement. It goes on, right,
- 32:57Speaker 1: it goes on. But so they are were they already
- 33:03Speaker 1: did it, so they already were recommending it. So at
- 33:06Speaker 1: that point, now I could have not done my show
- 33:11Speaker 1: that day before I had to go to work, but
- 33:16Speaker 1: and and you know I would I probably would have
- 33:19Speaker 1: if I could have got on and waited and had
- 33:22Speaker 1: the time. You know, I had about as much time,
- 33:26Speaker 1: you know, as I had just recording the podcast last Wednesday.
- 33:31Speaker 1: So so that just to answer someone's question, that's why
- 33:34Speaker 1: I didn't call in, because it's already done. It's a
- 33:40Speaker 1: done deal, you know. Now. That's to say. I saw
- 33:45Speaker 1: Greg Johnson, he was saying the breakdown of the callers.
- 33:50Speaker 1: He said lost count, but twelve them I'm a fighters,
- 33:53Speaker 1: two journalists, two boxing managers, two boxing promoters, one guy
- 33:56Speaker 1: excited for potential revenue for California, Nick con Nikhan. But
- 34:01Speaker 1: no current professional boxers. And you know, the the reason
- 34:06Speaker 1: why there was MMA, you know, folks that that were
- 34:11Speaker 1: against it. I mean they NNA fighters want to be
- 34:17Speaker 1: under the ALI Act, the current one, right. Most of
- 34:22Speaker 1: it has to do with disclosure and and just being
- 34:25Speaker 1: able to know what the budgets are and the events
- 34:28Speaker 1: and all that, and and and making sure they're not
- 34:30Speaker 1: getting screwed or whatever, right, and and they got screwed,
- 34:34Speaker 1: and so there was a settlement anti trade, you know,
- 34:38Speaker 1: like they there's more than one, you know, So it's
- 34:44Speaker 1: they're more up on it right now because they've dealt
- 34:49Speaker 1: with the powers that be in this company. Now. They
- 34:53Speaker 1: haven't dealt with ZUFA Boxing, but the people that own
- 34:57Speaker 1: TKO and all that that that's who they have an
- 35:00Speaker 1: issue with now. And I think Nash said it on
- 35:05Speaker 1: his podcast, like, you know, like if this happened a
- 35:11Speaker 1: decade ago or fifteen years ago, there wouldn't be any
- 35:15Speaker 1: NMA fighters probably calling it because while they were getting fucked, right,
- 35:22Speaker 1: they weren't really. They didn't realize they were getting fucked
- 35:25Speaker 1: until they got fucked, right, and then they realized they
- 35:29Speaker 1: got fucked. Now they realize this, so they there was
- 35:31Speaker 1: a lawsuit, and it was a long drawn out thing,
- 35:34Speaker 1: and there's other lawsuits currently, and so that's why they're
- 35:41Speaker 1: they're more up on it now. As far as boxers,
- 35:44Speaker 1: you know, like you know, if Floyd and Canelo and
- 35:50Speaker 1: like Manny pacyall and big names came out against it,
- 35:54Speaker 1: Crawford or whatever, you know, could that have stopped something
- 36:01Speaker 1: potentially potentially, but when they already have the recommendation released
- 36:06Speaker 1: paperwork wise, I don't think so. But but you could
- 36:11Speaker 1: at least make an argument just because it would have
- 36:14Speaker 1: grabbed the attention. But I don't think it wouldn't have
- 36:19Speaker 1: stopped the meeting. And all they needed was the formality
- 36:22Speaker 1: to vote on it. That's all they needed. So I
- 36:25Speaker 1: don't even think, you know, add Floyd called in, I
- 36:29Speaker 1: think it was too late. You know, it's too late
- 36:32Speaker 1: by that time. Now, if people got their ducks in
- 36:35Speaker 1: a row, like you know, like zoof or you know, ZOOFA,
- 36:41Speaker 1: and they had their ducks, and clearly Foster Andy Foster
- 36:45Speaker 1: had his ducks in a row, and so that's why
- 36:49Speaker 1: they did it kind of quick and they decided to
- 36:51Speaker 1: just do it, you know. So yeah, I mean, here's
- 36:57Speaker 1: the thing. So you can reach out to your because
- 37:06Speaker 1: right now, Congress is going to pass or they're going
- 37:10Speaker 1: to vote on it. I believe it's going to pass.
- 37:12Speaker 1: But either way, they're going to vote on it. So
- 37:15Speaker 1: you can reach out to your local congress people in
- 37:22Speaker 1: your state and tell them don't vote for this shit,
- 37:26Speaker 1: right or if you if you're with it, you can
- 37:29Speaker 1: do that. You could say, you know, I think you
- 37:31Speaker 1: should pass or whatever. It's up to you. But you
- 37:35Speaker 1: can reach out to your the people that would be
- 37:38Speaker 1: voting on it, right, and you can reach out to,
- 37:45Speaker 1: you know, the people that introduced the bill. I think
- 37:48Speaker 1: there's like four or six, I can't remember the count,
- 37:52Speaker 1: but you can reach out to them. You can make calls,
- 37:54Speaker 1: you can make emails. Like activism in the streets and
- 37:59Speaker 1: protests is very it can be very effective, but it's
- 38:02Speaker 1: like it's like a game of inches. It's like football, right,
- 38:06Speaker 1: It's a game of inches and you inch towards the goal.
- 38:10Speaker 1: But it takes sometimes decades, you know, like the Iraq War,
- 38:17Speaker 1: let's say I'm not getting political. I'm just make an example. Okay,
- 38:21Speaker 1: So everybody calmed down a little bit. There was a
- 38:24Speaker 1: huge protest before the war happened. Now, it didn't stop
- 38:29Speaker 1: the war, but not long after a handful of years after,
- 38:37Speaker 1: people started to question it way quicker than say Vietnam.
- 38:40Speaker 1: And then pretty soon majority, not everybody, but the majority
- 38:44Speaker 1: of people thought that was not a just war. You
- 38:47Speaker 1: didn't need to go into Iraq, you know, you could
- 38:49Speaker 1: have went other places. I mean, Saudi Arabia is a place,
- 38:53Speaker 1: you know whatever. Now we know why things, you know
- 38:57Speaker 1: that why they didn't go to Sadi, But just in general, yeah,
- 39:02Speaker 1: it didn't stop the war, but it sure made people
- 39:06Speaker 1: turn their mind somewhat quickly, relatively speaking in the last
- 39:13Speaker 1: say whatever fifty hundred years. You know. So it's inches
- 39:21Speaker 1: and inches in using the football term, a game at inches, well,
- 39:26Speaker 1: something can get fucked up and it's a personal fall
- 39:29Speaker 1: and it's first and twenty five and you just got
- 39:32Speaker 1: knocked back, you know. So my point is boxing casuals
- 39:39Speaker 1: and even semi casuals, and even people that call themselves
- 39:42Speaker 1: hardcorese they're not gonna go to DC to protest anything. Probably.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I mean, maybe something I won't get into that or
- 39:53Speaker 2: they did on a certain day, but a lot of
- 39:57Speaker 2: people won't. A lot of people won't. So even to
- 40:01Speaker 2: get like it'd be hard. It's hard to time up
- 40:05Speaker 2: exactly when that bill's gonna be voted on. You'll know it,
- 40:10Speaker 2: but you know, sometimes things get moved around or whatever.
- 40:14Speaker 2: But so if you were able to time up the
- 40:18Speaker 2: Congress voting to even get even to get ten thousand,
- 40:26Speaker 2: shit even a thousand, even to get let's say ten
- 40:29Speaker 2: thousand people to protest this, it would be extremely difficult
- 40:34Speaker 2: because you have to you have to have the ground
- 40:37Speaker 2: work laid already. We talk about duck ducks in a row.
- 40:42Speaker 2: And I'm you know, I'm normally in life, I'm a
- 40:46Speaker 2: positive person. I'm a realist, but I'm positive and I
- 40:50Speaker 2: try to see the good in people, and I trust
- 40:54Speaker 2: people to an extent. You have to earn trust.
- 40:57Speaker 1: But I do at least give them the benefit of
- 41:00Speaker 1: the doubt until they show me something else. Once they
- 41:03Speaker 1: show me something else, boom. You know, I don't fully
- 41:07Speaker 1: trust anybody, right, just everybody, But I mean I do
- 41:11Speaker 1: trust some people. I said that wrong. I don't fully
- 41:14Speaker 1: trust everybody just randomly. If I don't know you that well,
- 41:18Speaker 1: or even if I do kind of know you, I
- 41:19Speaker 1: still I take people for their word. Sure, but you
- 41:23Speaker 1: still got to prove it. Right. So in this when
- 41:26Speaker 1: I say, because I've gotten some messages over the last
- 41:29Speaker 1: couple of months saying that I'm negative about this and
- 41:31Speaker 1: you don't know what's going to pass or not, and
- 41:34Speaker 1: that's true, I don't know. I don't know the future.
- 41:36Speaker 1: But I know a thing or two about politics. Okay.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I'm not a presidential historian, just like I'm not a
- 41:45Speaker 1: boxing history, but I know a thing or two and
- 41:48Speaker 1: a few other things. Let's put it that way. I
- 41:50Speaker 1: put some hours in watching c spam, Okay, I do
- 41:54Speaker 1: know a thing or two about the halls of Congress. Okay.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And it's not that I'm being negative or positive or anything.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I'm being realistic and I realistically as long as they
- 42:08Speaker 1: get this thing voted on before the midterms. And once again,
- 42:14Speaker 1: I'm not getting political. Okay, if you look at the
- 42:17Speaker 1: last chunk of years, no matter who's in president Democrat, Republican,
- 42:23Speaker 1: when you win the presidency, you tend to lose one
- 42:30Speaker 1: part of the Congress at midterms, whether that's the House
- 42:33Speaker 1: or the Senate, you tend to lose it. Okay, Now,
- 42:38Speaker 1: maybe that won't happen this time. I'm just saying on average,
- 42:42Speaker 1: that does happen no matter who the president is of
- 42:46Speaker 1: late in recent presidential administrations. Okay, when Biden won in
- 42:53Speaker 1: twenty he lost the House, right, That's what happened in
- 42:58Speaker 1: a lot of times. We've seen the next go round,
- 43:02Speaker 1: if it changes hands, they win everything Republican or Democrat,
- 43:06Speaker 1: Trump or Obama, right, or you know, Bush or Biden
- 43:12Speaker 1: or whatever. Right, So there's a good chance that they're
- 43:16Speaker 1: gonna lose the House. Okay, maybe maybe not, who knows.
- 43:20Speaker 1: There's a lot that can take place. By my point is,
- 43:23Speaker 1: as long as it gets voted on before midterms, just
- 43:29Speaker 1: because of the potential that it's gonna pass, that's by
- 43:33Speaker 1: by partisan support. And if casuals are semi casuals or
- 43:37Speaker 1: people that call themselves hardcorees, if they don't give two
- 43:40Speaker 1: shits about it then or even know about it really,
- 43:48Speaker 1: then there's no way people in Congress are going to
- 43:50Speaker 1: give two shits about it enough to make a difference
- 43:54Speaker 1: in my opinion. You know, maybe it won't be maybe
- 43:58Speaker 1: it won't get passed, but I would be surprised because
- 44:04Speaker 1: the window dressing is in there enough to go well that, hey,
- 44:09Speaker 1: you know, health standards. Okay, cool, I can I can
- 44:13Speaker 1: go back and say, hey, health standards, that's why I
- 44:15Speaker 1: bought it, you guys, or no. And I'm not saying
- 44:19Speaker 1: that all the health standards there's not some positive in
- 44:22Speaker 1: there or the per round thing. You know. I'm not
- 44:29Speaker 1: saying there's no positive in that or whatever. But yeah,
- 44:35Speaker 1: I just I think it's going to pass, and there's
- 44:39Speaker 1: you know, so you can say it's an excuse why
- 44:42Speaker 1: I didn't call in you could or a reason. I
- 44:46Speaker 1: think it's a reason. But you could also say the
- 44:48Speaker 1: excuse the first time. I wasn't in a place to
- 44:55Speaker 1: be able to call and wait on a on a phone.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I just wasn't. But that's cool. If you, if you,
- 45:00Speaker 1: if you the person that doesn't have a name, it's
- 45:04Speaker 1: just a Twitter account, so that that's that's the reason
- 45:08Speaker 1: why I did. Long story short, But like I said,
- 45:12Speaker 1: you can you can look up the bill, right, the
- 45:18Speaker 1: bipartisan bill, and you can contact those people. You can
- 45:25Speaker 1: contact your state, right, you can depending on your state,
- 45:30Speaker 1: you know, well not even depending on your state you
- 45:34Speaker 1: can call up your athletic commission, leave a message. A
- 45:37Speaker 1: lot of times you're just leaving messages or you're you know, lead,
- 45:41Speaker 1: someone will answer, or it'll allow you to go someplace.
- 45:45Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean I've I've signed petitions. Actually, petitions
- 45:52Speaker 1: can be pretty good because you can if you can
- 45:55Speaker 1: bring five hundred thousand or a million, you know, signatures
- 46:00Speaker 1: that actually can make a difference. So yeah, I mean,
- 46:06Speaker 1: for boxing wise, I've called commissions, whether it was my
- 46:10Speaker 1: state or other states, when it's been a poor judging
- 46:17Speaker 1: over and over again by somebody or whatever. I've signed petitions,
- 46:21Speaker 1: Like I said, I've I signed the MMA fighters wanting
- 46:27Speaker 1: to be you know, under the ALI Act. Like so
- 46:32Speaker 1: you can do it in a variety of ways. But
- 46:38Speaker 1: to be honest with you, I just don't think like
- 46:43Speaker 1: did Lou Debella call into that thing. You'd think Lou
- 46:47Speaker 1: would have, you know, some sort of stake in it.
- 46:51Speaker 1: But as far as the boxers, I kind of forgot
- 46:53Speaker 1: to clean this up. Remember some of those boxers, some
- 46:58Speaker 1: of them, you know, they've already made their money. They
- 47:00Speaker 1: don't give two ships, right, And it's something that many
- 47:04Speaker 1: people would be that way. By the way, Okay, some
- 47:09Speaker 1: of them don't know, Y're just ignorant to it, and
- 47:12Speaker 1: some of them were busy, right for sure, That's what
- 47:15Speaker 1: Oscar de la Hoya said. But also some of them
- 47:21Speaker 1: have to, like work in the industry, you know, some
- 47:28Speaker 1: of them have to adapt to the changing environment, and
- 47:32Speaker 1: so they don't want to speak out. So it's it's
- 47:37Speaker 1: you know, it's just kind of it's it's kind of funky,
- 47:40Speaker 1: but you know, it is what it is. I wasn't surprised.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I was a tad surprised that they did the early shit,
- 47:48Speaker 1: but overall, I uh, I wasn't surprised in general, let's
- 47:54Speaker 1: put it that way. I wasn't surprised in general that
- 47:56Speaker 1: it would do that. You know that they do that,
- 48:00Speaker 1: but they just kind of rubber stamp the thing go ahead.
- 48:05Speaker 1: And I've always said, like to make the ALI Act stronger,
- 48:12Speaker 1: I'd rather strengthen it than have options, which ultimately does
- 48:19Speaker 1: weaken it. I know a lot of people say, well,
- 48:21Speaker 1: it's not going to change, it's not changing. Well, no,
- 48:24Speaker 1: it does change. It does change it because I mean,
- 48:29Speaker 1: ZUFA wouldn't have to change it if it doesn't change it, right,
- 48:33Speaker 1: I mean, it's pretty basic. It sounds pretty basic, but
- 48:36Speaker 1: it does change it. You can say it offers a
- 48:39Speaker 1: different option. Okay, that's fair, but that's still changing it,
- 48:43Speaker 1: you know. And then disclosure with the company, you know,
- 48:50Speaker 1: with Dana White, with the people behind ZUFA, we know
- 48:54Speaker 1: that they haven't been their fighter pay is bullshit on
- 48:58Speaker 1: average when can to the revenue. We already know that
- 49:02Speaker 1: they love to talk about, we're our own franchise. We
- 49:07Speaker 1: turned the UFC into the NFL, into the NBA, into
- 49:10Speaker 1: the Okay, cool, So why don't you pay better? Well,
- 49:16Speaker 1: a union hasn't forced them to negotiate thirty percent or
- 49:22Speaker 1: forty percent or fifty percent of the revenue. But it
- 49:25Speaker 1: is kind of funny that you call yourself the NFL.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Go look at the NBA, NFL, in the NFL, excuse me,
- 49:33Speaker 1: and see what they get of the revenue. It's way
- 49:37Speaker 1: more than twenty percent. And most of the times UFC
- 49:40Speaker 1: hasn't even paid twenty percent on average of the revenue.
- 49:43Speaker 1: So that argument of well, every time they've signed a
- 49:47Speaker 1: new deal, they're you know, the fighter's money has got up. Yeah,
- 49:51Speaker 1: but it's the revenue went up. It doesn't mean the
- 49:54Speaker 1: percentage of it. You know, so that's just uh, you know,
- 50:00Speaker 1: in disclosure and not working with other you know, you'd
- 50:05Speaker 1: rather buy out a promoter than work with them or
- 50:08Speaker 1: a promotional outfit. You know, when I talked about a
- 50:12Speaker 1: monopoly of sorts, it's those those promoters and those manager
- 50:19Speaker 1: they're still in business. They're still operating their business. They
- 50:22Speaker 1: just got bought out, so it actually takes some of
- 50:26Speaker 1: the risk away from them. They got their money. Now
- 50:30Speaker 1: just do what you're good at and operate the business.
- 50:34Speaker 1: That was kind of my way of saying, that's probably
- 50:37Speaker 1: the only way you could really fix boxing business wise,
- 50:42Speaker 1: other than what I've always said is some sort of
- 50:47Speaker 1: sort of committee super supervisor role with teeth, some sort
- 50:53Speaker 1: of federal committee, which, of course, if you only have
- 50:57Speaker 1: one person, you can corrupt them. If you have three, five,
- 51:00Speaker 1: you have seven, you can get to them. It's harder,
- 51:02Speaker 1: I suppose to get to five than it is one,
- 51:05Speaker 1: but you can still corrupt it' I'm not saying you
- 51:08Speaker 1: can't corrupt it, right, but if the thing had a legit,
- 51:15Speaker 1: federal law pass to strengthen things for boxing, then we
- 51:22Speaker 1: wouldn't have to worry about a new belt or this
- 51:26Speaker 1: amount of rankings or whatever, you know, because they could
- 51:29Speaker 1: go right away and say you have to rank other
- 51:33Speaker 1: you know, other champions in your fucking rankings, like so
- 51:38Speaker 1: you know, without that, you're never gonna get that far.
- 51:44Speaker 1: You know, You're just not. That's just how it goes,
- 51:48Speaker 1: you know what I mean, That's just how it goes.
- 51:50Speaker 1: So Okay, so it sounds like John is not gonna
- 51:56Speaker 1: be able to make it. That's too bad. Okay, So
- 52:03Speaker 1: I'll get into the new information. Hopefully we can catch
- 52:06Speaker 1: up with them next show. We talked about I did,
- 52:16Speaker 1: so let's talk about in the ring, Okay, Joseph Parker
- 52:20Speaker 1: Fabio Mordley. I really like the matchup, and I think
- 52:27Speaker 1: it's just a it's a fun matchup, you know. It's
- 52:30Speaker 1: Joseph Parker has like had a nice run, he really has.
- 52:36Speaker 1: And you know, I would say I think John might
- 52:43Speaker 1: be a little bit more harsher than I have later
- 52:45Speaker 1: or lately on him, you know, because a lot of
- 52:50Speaker 1: people thought Parker had earned his way to get the
- 52:53Speaker 1: shot at Usik rather than Dubois. But whatever, you know,
- 52:57Speaker 1: it is what it is. But but beating Wilder in Zang,
- 53:03Speaker 1: those guys were so past it that it's like you
- 53:06Speaker 1: get credit, of course, but you know it is what
- 53:11Speaker 1: I don't know, Like, I give him credit because he
- 53:14Speaker 1: had a game plan and he stuck to it. And
- 53:17Speaker 1: I think he gets even more credit for the Zang
- 53:19Speaker 1: when because he was down early in like mid it
- 53:23Speaker 1: was like with a third round and the seventh or
- 53:26Speaker 1: eighth or something like that. So I think it was
- 53:28Speaker 1: the eighth. Now, the Bacoli thing, you know, that's really
- 53:33Speaker 1: not his fault, you know, so he you know, this
- 53:40Speaker 1: is a risk for him, though, I will say that.
- 53:43Speaker 1: So he's been on a nice run. You know, he
- 53:46Speaker 1: got knocked out by Joyce and he's won you know,
- 53:50Speaker 1: six fights and six fights since twenty twenty two. Is
- 53:55Speaker 1: really not all that bad, right, And like I said,
- 54:00Speaker 1: he's kind of just stuck to his game plan. He's
- 54:07Speaker 1: he did a pretty good job of staying close to
- 54:09Speaker 1: his opponent to not be at the the end of
- 54:13Speaker 1: Zang in Wilder's punches. Like I said, he surf I
- 54:18Speaker 1: zang knockdowns. I thought he got you know, shooken up
- 54:22Speaker 1: maybe once or twice against Wilder, but he held right away.
- 54:25Speaker 1: It was very smart and then he went on from
- 54:28Speaker 1: there no problem. But I do think Wardley it's still
- 54:35Speaker 1: really live in this one. The Fraser Clark fight, the
- 54:41Speaker 1: first one, you know, it was a drawer or whatever.
- 54:43Speaker 1: That that was very competitive, you know, and I didn't
- 54:47Speaker 1: mind the draw at all, you know, you know it
- 54:55Speaker 1: Clark showed hert in that too. You know, he was
- 54:59Speaker 1: he was down, you know, he got knocked down and uh,
- 55:04Speaker 1: and then he did get a little cheap right. I
- 55:07Speaker 1: don't I don't remember the round, but he definitely like
- 55:12Speaker 1: was it like the seventh round or something like that.
- 55:14Speaker 1: I can't remember where he got a point deducted. But
- 55:18Speaker 1: either way, I thought the rematch was gonna be something,
- 55:23Speaker 1: you know, and it wasn't. It wasn't at all. He
- 55:26Speaker 1: dusted him. And you know, he wasn't doing great in
- 55:32Speaker 1: a per se right in his last fight. Actually he
- 55:37Speaker 1: was doing really bad. I believe all three scorecards had
- 55:42Speaker 1: him down if I remember correctly. But you know, he
- 55:49Speaker 1: did a big right hand, you know, like he did
- 55:53Speaker 1: his thing. So I do think he's live in this fight.
- 55:59Speaker 1: And I know there was a there is a new
- 56:03Speaker 1: opponent on the uh on the card now because someone
- 56:08Speaker 1: got hurt. And like I said, this, this card's not
- 56:15Speaker 1: that great at all. It's not good. Now. I hope,
- 56:18Speaker 1: like I always do, because I'm a boxing fan, that
- 56:22Speaker 1: some of these fights just pop off. And I'm not
- 56:25Speaker 1: saying every last fight on this card sucks or whatever.
- 56:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 56:32Speaker 1: You know, I'm not saying that you have Fabia Wardley
- 56:36Speaker 1: a plus two ninety I think is the lowest. I
- 56:38Speaker 1: see him plus three hundred plus two eighty actually, but
- 56:44Speaker 1: I can't. That's on you. To bed fan Duel has
- 56:49Speaker 1: him as a plus three twenty. I do think that
- 56:53Speaker 1: he is it is worth a flyer to take out
- 56:58Speaker 1: on him, I really do. I do. I think he's
- 57:01Speaker 1: I think he's a very live dog on that. Obviously,
- 57:06Speaker 1: once you get kind of in the range it's at
- 57:10Speaker 1: for the uh, you know, for the favorite. To me,
- 57:16Speaker 1: those bets don't make as much sense, you know, to
- 57:21Speaker 1: just the minus number. If the minus number is so low,
- 57:25Speaker 1: you just have to put so much money on it,
- 57:27Speaker 1: and wonder if he did get cole with something, you
- 57:31Speaker 1: know what I mean, And then all of a sudden
- 57:32Speaker 1: you put all this money just to win a little
- 57:34Speaker 1: bit of money. So I don't know, I I am
- 57:42Speaker 1: gonna put some plus money down and actually on my
- 57:48Speaker 1: bookies a plus two sixty three so my bookie has
- 57:54Speaker 1: gotten a fair amount of action now on this fight.
- 58:00Speaker 1: But yeah, I would say, because I think Parker, if
- 58:04Speaker 1: he wins, it's by decision. So would you rather, for instance,
- 58:08Speaker 1: on my bookie right now minus three ninety one? Okay,
- 58:13Speaker 1: you do have to put a fair amount of money
- 58:14Speaker 1: to make money on that. Of course, you have the
- 58:16Speaker 1: over on Earth it's said at nine and a half
- 58:20Speaker 1: over is minus one thirty five unders minus one o two,
- 58:24Speaker 1: So those are that's pretty good numbers. But Joseph Parker
- 58:28Speaker 1: by decision is this plus one plus one eighty two,
- 58:37Speaker 1: and by knockout it's minus one oh five, which is
- 58:40Speaker 1: kind of interesting because you know, like Fabio by the way,
- 58:47Speaker 1: is plus four ten for the KO and by decision
- 58:50Speaker 1: is plus nine forty. So if I'm putting, I can
- 58:55Speaker 1: only bet legally on two spots in Minnesota, or three
- 58:59Speaker 1: of them, but one i'd never use and the two
- 59:03Speaker 1: one of them's legit, one of them's kind of shaky
- 59:06Speaker 1: but legit enough. One of them I wouldn't use it all.
- 59:10Speaker 1: I think it's only three that you can, but either
- 59:12Speaker 1: way it's legal that way. We don't have our own books.
- 59:15Speaker 1: But you know, rather than two sixty five. You could
- 59:21Speaker 1: bet if you think Wordly's gonna win, you could bet
- 59:24Speaker 1: on the KO and the decision, you're the decision is
- 59:27Speaker 1: plus nine forty, but even the KO plus four ten,
- 59:32Speaker 1: you know. But there it's funny because this is telling
- 59:37Speaker 1: you that they think Joseph's gonna get the knockout because
- 59:41Speaker 1: it's only minus one oh five, rather than you know,
- 59:45Speaker 1: Parker plus twenty two by decision. See, I think it'd
- 59:49Speaker 1: go to decision personally. But then again, you know, what
- 59:55Speaker 1: would you rather do plus minus three ninety one bet
- 59:58Speaker 1: or minus one oh five and even plus one eighty two?
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: You could bet both of those and still be in
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: better shape than the other way I just described, Or
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: you know, will this fight go the distance? No? Minus
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: one seven? Yes, minus one forty. You see what I'm saying.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: So this is pretty interesting, you know, this is a
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: pretty interesting uh bet here. And it's funny because rather
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: than betting on you know, favorite underdog, you could bet
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: four ways there and still make out, you know. So yeah,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: it's it's very interesting that way. But yeah, I do
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: kind of have that feeling that if Wardly wins, it's
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: gonna be by stoppage, you know, I think that's in
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: my opinion, I think that's probably how that go. But
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: of course Parker's a tough dude, right and and he
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: could get knocked down twice but still make it. Right.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: He's got a good jab he can hold. He's a
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: pretty big dude. He's very experienced, so he could he
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: could make the final bell, you know, and you know
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: he has three losses, but he's only been stopped by Joyce,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: so he was able to make it. You know, you
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: know all those other ones obviously, you know Joshua and
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Dillian White, you know, those won twelve rounds. So prediction wise,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I think Parker will win by decision. But betting wise,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I am going to put out a flyer on on Morbley.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: I feel like he's a live dog more than they're saying,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: let's just put it that way, more than the bet
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: odds would would tell us. That's my personal, you know
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: opinion on that. So so yeah, and that you know
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: that it's on pay per view, you know, and that's
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: just not it's why can't this just be on normal zone?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Like I I guess I can understand the UK pay
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: per view in a sense because you know Wardley and
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Parker have fought in and around there a lot, so
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I guess you'd get at least you definitely get more
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: byes there. But here it's like in the middle of
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: afternoon on college football, like it just it doesn't make
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: any fucking sense. You know, there is what Arnie Dawson
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Mitchell Smith. That's a close fight. Mitchell Smith is a
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: plus one fifty six? You have? Is this fight still
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: happening Comitia and Casamira? You know what's funny is someone
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: actually remember And it's funny because I'm looking at it.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I'm pro boxing odds and they still have Therman Fandora
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Foster Fulton. They still have that here right because they
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: haven't been rescheduled. So it's sitting there. But a little
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: while ago, I remember a couple of weeks ago, I
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: thought Lidell and Conway was happening like earlier in the week.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I thought it was like or no, I thought it
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: was on a Sunday. I think that's what it was
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: because I was looking at this and I'm like, oh wait, no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: this is wrong. So so my point here is somebody
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: messaged me about a top rank card and they asked me,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: is it this week because there are so many fights
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: that you do get a little confused, right, But no,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: the uh, Mikayla mayor Mary Spencer fight is not it's
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: it's it's not. It's not this week. It's October thirtieth.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: And I can understand because they screenshot it and they
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: said Mikayla is still hunting for another Crown. Spencer Mayor
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: will stream live and exclusively in the US across major
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: fast networks on the top right classic channels, and it
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: says eight pm Eastern Roku Tubu Plute to be Pluto,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: and I don't, I haven't. I don't know that one visio.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Oh actually I kind of I guess I do. But anyway,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: that's not this week. So I can understand why people
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: thought that because it's said it almost looks like it's
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: happening night, because the tweet that they sent out says
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: eight pm Easter, but it's not. It's not happening. It's
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: not happening this week. It's not happening this week. So
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I did want to clarify that it is happening next Thursday.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: It's happening next Thursday. That's that's when it's happening. Okay,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: So if anyone has any questions there that or you know,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: more people kind of confuse about that, that that's the
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: deal there. Okay, so just a heads up. So what
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: else do we have? Okay, so, yeah, I got Parker
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: by decision, but I'm gonna put some money on the
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: dog too. I think I'm gonna bet both and try
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: to just make money over all. Some people don't like
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: doing that, that's fair, but I do. I do because
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: it just increases your chances to make money. And if
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: you can bet to the point where you really can't
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: lose unless it's like a draw or something like that
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: or obviously like a nope. Well and no contests anyway. Yeah,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: so let me see here, because someone messaged me about, yeah,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: that there's a couple of things they screenshot at a
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: couple fights that no longer. It's kind of it's kind
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: of in the Keith Thurmant Sebastian doorra Ben. It's just
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: it's not happening. Yeah, the Ramos, mostly Junior, that's not
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: happening this weekend. It's it's just not happening. We do
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: have though, on the twenty fourth Friday, we have Pagan
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: in Montgomery, which you know, nothing is crazy on and
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: you Odessa Parker and Los Losato. I think it is.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Let me check here, yeah, Losato. Now, Joshua James Pagan undefeated,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: doesn't have a lot of power. You know, this is
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: a it is a step up. Montgomery is a step up. Uh,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: you know has power, but you know in his face
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: that's like Oscar ESCANDONO and Escandon. What is it? Is it?
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Oscar Escandon? Let me look at it. Actually, I know warres.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: These are warres. I think that went the distance. Let
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: me do check. Actually, so there was Yeah, that went
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: the distance eight rounds. Never been ten rounds. Oh no,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: against Jeremy Hill the last fight. That's right. I went
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: ten rounds. That's right. So you know it's it's a
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: step up. Montgomery is a pretty good fighter. I think
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I maybe I just the highlights of that fight. I'm
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: pretty sure I watched that fight with Montgomery in Hill,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: but it was competitive and and you know I thought
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: I thought it was very competitive Montgomery. Yeah, okay, huh yeah,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: but yeah, so sorry, this is I'm just kind of like,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: wait a second. So Joshua James Pagan is is you know,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: going against Montgomery and so that should be good. That
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: should be pretty good. I think that's on the zone
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: if I remember correctly. That's not pro box, that's just
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: that's the zone. I think. Actually, let me let me
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: check that too. I'm pretty sure it's the zone. You know,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: sometimes box Wreck and you know, shouts out the box wreck,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: but Gottaly sometimes sometimes man, it's just like pop up session.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: It feels like we're living like twenty years ago where
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: you just like pop up, pop up, millions pop up.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: You know, remember when it just be like a repeat
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: pop up and your whole screen would be all fucked up.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: That's not what's happening. But it's still kind of funny.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: So it doesn't say it on there, but I'm almost
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: positive it's on the zone. But so that there's some
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: competitive fights on that card. So that's something, you know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: like that's something to watch, something something to be entertained by.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Like I said, I'm not I'm not trying to like
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: overseell it per se, but you know, I think it's
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I think it's pretty good. Just put that way, should
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: be pretty good, I'd say. Okay, So okay, so we
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: I want to talk a little bit about the zoofa
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: contracts that coming out more and more. We talked about
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I've talked to someone here, uh well, not locally regionally
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: in the Midwest, specifically more of the Upper Midwest. So
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I did talk to a promoter regionally. I remember Chris
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Mannix said he talked to uh that Boston club, you
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: know promoter. I talked about the money and whatnot. You
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: should check out this, uh this article by Abraham Gonzalez
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Okay fight fights at w dot com. Okay, inside zoofa Boxing.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: What Dana White's new venture means fighters in the future
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: of the sport. Now, I'm not gonna read it, you know,
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: over and over again, right, I'm not gonna do that.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: He talks about a variety of things. He has this
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: twenty fourteen article, you know by Tom Houser, which you know,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: if you follow at Hower's career, Houser's career, you know
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: he's it's not that he's not talented at what he does,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: but there's certain things that he had this series on Hayman,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: but then he didn't have series on you know, like
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: he was getting paid by people. It just wasn't on
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: the up and up. Let's put it that way. He
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: can be bought and sold, let's put it that way.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: And he's not the only one, so I'm not just
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: ripping on him randomly. But basically they give an example
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: of you know, Hayman's de signs fighters to an exclusive
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: advisory agreement that gives his corporation the exclusive rights to
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: render services and securing the boxers participation in professional boxing
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: message matches, exhibitions, entertainment performance, personal appearance, endorsements, sponsorships, opportunities,
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: blah blah blah. Right, and then you know, in return,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Hayman is required to use his best efforts to secure
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you know, matches blah blah blah. Right, So we know
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: that advice counsel the boxer overall development his career, secure
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: proper training facilities and equipment. So some of this stuff
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: is already in there, right. Houser Also he noted in
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: this article that Hayman typically charged ten to fifteen percent
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: of a fighter's purse for his services. Although this report
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: is more than a decade old, it offers a glimpse
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: of the business model now, He's said. According to two
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: separate sources who have worked with Hayman, one stated Hayman's
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: cut never came directly out of the fighters purse, but
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: from the overall earnings of the event, while others explained
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: that Hayman would receive his cut only after pay per
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: view reached a certain threshold. That threshold wasn't specific by
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: but aligne but aligns with what Houser reported in twenty fourteen,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: and also on good source. I would say even better
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: than Houser's source that as you made more money, the
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: percentage take would go down two So it could be
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: as low as ten or five percent, depending on, you know,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: how much revenue was being gained. Because overall he knew
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: you know, he's still making money, right, and so the
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: whole thing is, you know, does the Olleague Act have
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: like workarounds just certain you can you know loopholes, right,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: And that's what people who Funny enough, many people are
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: very quiet about, you know, changes to the ALI Act
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: because like I said, it is a change, because it
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: is a change, Like you can say that the ALI
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Act the way that that part the wording is going
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: to still be there and boxers can still use that.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: But like I said, ZUFA wouldn't need to, Like, if
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: they didn't need to change anything to run their business,
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: why would they be seeking to change it. So it
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: is a change to how it's going to be, you know, legislated,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: federal law whatever right it is, it definitely is so.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: But the manager promoter advisor thing, you know, the setup
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: was basically and like I said, Steve Kim and many
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: other people that were all, oh Ali Act and oh
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: he's fucking with the Ali Act and he's trying to monopolize. Okay, cool,
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: but they're hush hush when it comes to this go round, right,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: And you know he was a registered manager in Nevada,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I believe, and there was a Hayman Sports LLC. I
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: think that's what it was called. And you know the PBC, right,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: so you could either he could you could sign him
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: as an advisor or you could sign with him as
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: a manager. Right now, when it comes to promoting, dealing
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: with promotions, they would use a promoter sometimes. And this
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: goes back to Floyd with Haymen Floyd. Remember when they
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: used to go hand in hand with Golden Boy Floyd
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: would I think it was like a three million dollar
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: fee to promote his shows. But then obviously there is
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: a positive one. You could be You could be an
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: opponent for Floyd if you're a gold Boy fighter, and
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: two you could get exposure and get on those cards, right, So,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: but there was a fee there. Now it matters whether
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: we're talking about Spike TV or CBS or NBC or
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Fox or a pay per view, right, it kind of
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: matters that the scenario. But if you signed with Hayman,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: you didn't have to sign with a promoter. Some people
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: were signed with the promoter, let's say Samson, but then
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: didn't sign with Hayman but were still on the cards.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Some of them at the start were on the cards,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: and then eventually they signed with Hayman, right. So so
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: basically sometimes they would a fighter, like especially if it's
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: a pay per viewer or whatever, would have there, they
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: would partially co promote it right with their own promotional company.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Like for instance, when back to that Golden Boy thing
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: with Mayweather and Hayman, like Mattias and Garcia. According to
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Richard Schaeffer, back then, uh that Floyd paid for that fight.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: That's how it got on, Like so he he was
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: responsible for putting up money as a promoter. So sometimes
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: that was the case. Sometimes it was just a way
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: to get him some more money, you know. But sometimes
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: you know, whether it was the fighter or the promotion
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: PBC paying a fee to the promoter, and a lot
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: of people kind of now that it's more promoter heavy
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: and promoters kind of manage and I would say at
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: least control the fighter more when you're signed to a
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: promoter than a manager, like as far as control, like
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: we can shelf you type thing, you know. So so
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: they a lot of times it'd be PBC or the Fighter.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Like I said, it kind of matters, would pay a
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: promoter to promote the show, and people thought, okay, that
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: was a workaround, that was a loophole. He's basically being
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: a manager and a promoter, but technically he wasn't technically.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: But so that so there's an argument to be had that,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: you know, I want to strengthen the Aliact, not loosen
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: it up. I'll say that. I've always said that, right,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: but so so there's that right now. With this, they
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: go on to talk about, you know, some of the
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: basically some of the the parts to the ZUFA boxing.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: So according to multiple anominous sources, you know, spoke on
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: a condition of not being able to you know, fear
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: of retaliation. Fighters signing with ZUFA are required to first
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: enter in an advisor agreement to an LLC, a sports
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: consulting and management agency. Okay, so and he did his research,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: he said, going into this LLC, it's Churchill Management, Sam Kovkowski,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: formerly of Ring City and associate with advisor company that
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: fighters must sign with for an initial four year term.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: And then he says, below are some of the provisions, right,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: and it and it's somewhat similar to what I just
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: went over for signing with Heymn. Right, there's some similarities
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: to it, for sure. The compensation thing fifteen percent basically
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: in consideration of the advisor services fighter agrees to pay
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: to Advisor and when received by fighter during the term,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: therefore equal to fifteen percent of all monies. Blah blah
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: blah blah. Right, so fifteen percent, so you got to
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: give so before you sign with allegedly here that you
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: sign with ZUFA, you have to sign to this management thing.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: So that right there, that is a little different than
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: what people are talking about the PBC, because you could
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: be with a promoter like Samson and not technically sign right.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: You have you have Ryan Garcia, you have Terrence Crawford,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: wasn't with a promoter Terrence Crawford didn't have to sign
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: the BBC to get dispense fight. You had Berlanga, you
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: have Mungia, you have other fights. I mean, you know,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: it could go back further, but you have other fighters,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: like I said, that are signed with a promoter. But
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: then sometimes they would you know, sign with AL after that,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: or maybe they get a big win and all of
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: a sudden they really then they sign whatever. But you
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: don't have you didn't have to. And also when you
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: sign with AL, you didn't have to sign a promotion,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: you know, I remember. So basically they're picking your management
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: for you, you know. Now. He also has an editor's note.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: As with any proposal, the terms are negotiable. The percentage
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: mentioned here, it's not necessarily fixed and in vary case
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: to case basis. That's very open, right. But in short,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: if you already have an internal representation with the manager,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: lawyer or both, you'll need to factor that in the
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: additional fifteen percent or whatever you negotiate it. So once
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: you make the agreement with this LLC advisory for fifteen
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: percent on average anyway, the next step is hoofa boxing
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: contract issued by this company from Beverly Hills. The company
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: is led by former top rank attorney and then cea
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: agent blah blah blah right, and it functions as a
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: primary TKO data white Zufa Boxing Right. The Zufa Boxing
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: contract with leaked on social media early this year, outlines
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: a three year exclusive agreement with the company, compromising ZOFA
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: boxing TKO and sella in the following rates. So here's
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: the money. Okay, So initially, just for signing the shit
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: to signing to them, you get five thousand dollars within
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: three days or the effective date, I should say bout
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: payment payment for each bout shall be as follows, fifty
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: thousand when ranked by the company, number five to ten,
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: one hundred thousand when ranked by the company, two to four,
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty thousand when challenging for a company championship,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: and five hundred thousand when defending the championship. If you're
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: not ranked in the company's top ten. That's fifteen thousand
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: for a ten round bout. Now goes on to say
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: pay per view bouts. When a boxer participate in a
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: bout which is the main event of a company event
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: and distributed on the payview in the United States, the
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: party shall agree on a guaranteed first end or net
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: profit participation third party bouts. Okay, if the company secures
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: opportunities for boxers to participate in the third party event,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: and it says, example, we hot season events, boxers shall
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: be entitled the ninety percent of the fee paid to
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: the company for the boxer's participation. So it's and this
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: is another thing, it said frequency abouts the company shall
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: use best efforts to offer the boxer opportunity to participate
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: in bouts every five months during the term of the
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: you know, within the first bout whatever. Now we'll stop
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: right there for a second. So we talked about how,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: you know, who are they going to sign. In the
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: early signings, people were kind of like, wow, that's like
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: some of it's not even Tier two stuff whatever. It's like, oh,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: that that won't be a good contender series or whatever. Right.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: But then we also heard they're going to go after
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: like one hundred to two hundred people. I've heard anywhere
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: from two hundred and fifty to four to fifty, like
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: they're targeting. Dana White said that they're targeting four hundred
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: and fifty. Now maybe they they'll come away with two
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: hundred whatever, right, so the company in the ring rankings,
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: So we're gonna find out how many people, how many
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: boxers get signed by them, and you know how many
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: people are going to get bought out of their contract,
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: you know, and because you obviously have to have a
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: couple hundred fighters if you're going to use the ring rankings.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: We hear about the ring rankings and maybe it's him
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: Dana White saying we only care about the ring rankings,
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: But is that going to be? It keeps saying the
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: company Is the company going to be the ring rankings?
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Because obviously if it is is, and this something we've
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: talked about a lot, you'd have to have a lot
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: of fighters then, because the odds that you have the
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: top ten ring ranking in every division is going to
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: be you know, obviously the way they talk about it.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: Of course you'd need opponents and they're not going to
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: have all seventeen way classes or whatever. But you know
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: what the thing is like, there are fighters that are
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: in the ring rankings that some of this money would
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: be great for them. There's fighters where they think that's
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: kind of low ball, right, let's take the money out
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: of it. As far as the number, Now, I'm going
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: to talk a little money, but let's not get let's
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: not talk about if fifty thousand to be ranked fifth
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: through tenth in the world is low or not. Okay,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: let's just say now when it says two, three and four,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: basically the argument between a fourth and a fifth fighter
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: or a third, fourth and fifth fighter or a fourth,
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: fifth and sixth fighter, you know, there's you got to
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: rank them, right, But I just don't think that from
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: four to five, and like I said, it could be
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: three to six whatever, that there's a that you're gonna
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: drop half the money from fifty thousand to one hundred thousand.
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: That's kind of crazy. And it gets even crazier if
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: it's the company rankings and it's not the ring rankings,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: then it gets like what because I do remember, you know,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: I'm I'm a super big casual, not even a casual
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: anymore of UFC, right, But I do remember they have
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: their own ranking system, right, cool? Whatever, But there were
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: fighters like Evans and some other fighters that it took
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: them longer. They were more skilled than other fighters, but
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: they weren't as like entertaining, and it took certain fighters
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: much longer to get a title about than the ones
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: that are just blood and guts. That's just something I noticed, right.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: So my point is, even if it is the ring rankings,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: like from four to five, a drop off of one
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: hundred thousand is crazy or sorry, fifty thousand half the money,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: and like I said, there's debates to be had from
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: four to five, six, maybe even more. You know, there's debates.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: So it's like I wish, to be honest, I think
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: it should be two through ten. You know, it should
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: be two through ten because, like I said, from three
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: to six or four to five, especially to me, that's weird,
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: even using the ring magazine rankings, which we don't know
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: for a fact they're going to because they eat each
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: and every fighter in the ring rankings to do there
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: for these contracts, so that tells me they probably won't.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: It'll probably be we only we only look at this
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: as like the real rankings. But we have our own rankings.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: So if you have your company rankings, then that's even shistier.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: That's way or shisty if you if you rank your
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: own rankings and then someone who's fifth there's a drop
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: off from fourth to fifth by half the money. I'm
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: not a big fan of that. I'll just say, someone
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: that's ten to eleven, ten to twelve, fifty to fifteen thousand,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: that's a pretty big drop off. Okay, but it gets
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: so it is what it is. That's just my opinion.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Like I said, I've made fun of and criticized the
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: rankings of these fucking sanctioned belts left and right. Okay,
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: I'm just saying, this is my thoughts on these rankings
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: and how the best versus best or or whatever they
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: want to say. Until we see it in the ring,
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: we'll see it. Now here's another one that kind of
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: stands out to me. A few additional details as the
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: article goes on, and once again this is fights at
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: T fights at W dot com. So fights ATW dot com. Okay,
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: this is a good in depth article for anybody that
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: wants to read it, you should definitely check it out.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: Abraham Gonzalez wrote the article solid, solid, dude. Okay, now
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: here's where it gets a little funky. And I'm gonna
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: give you an example of a current boxing contract and
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: we're gonna compare and contrast. Okay, So, if a boxer
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: holds a company championship, remember what is that company championship
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: title based off? And we'll see at the end of
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: their contract, turn the agreement and it automatically extends until
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: the fighter competes in three more bouts. Now, the contract
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: also specifies that the fighters will receive twenty five percent
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: of merchandise royalties based on net revenue. Blah blah blah. Right,
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: So so you're done with your contract, but you're still
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: their champ. Okay, now you can Now can you drop
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: it and leave? And I know that sounds like a
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: silly question because we know you can drop the sanctioning
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: the current sanctioning belts. And sometimes I applaud fighters because
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: there's a much better fight for him and they shouldn't
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: have to fight this chump ass ranking mandatory. Right. Sometimes
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: we've seen people avoid fights and they have two belts.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: I'll drop one. I'll go after the the less difficult
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: challenge for more money blah blah, and fight that other
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: fighter when it you know, when the time is right whatever. Right,
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: Like I said, we know boxing has corruptions left and right.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: But so you've obligated and it says three years, but
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: then the advisories four years. So that advice so you're
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: still getting fifty It says this is allegedly. Okay, it
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: says in this article that it's a three year deal
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: with the promoter. Am I reading that right? In? A
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: four year with the advisory? So after you leave that
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: that you still got to pay fifty percent to that?
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: Is that? What did I read that? Right? Outlies a
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: three year exclusive agreement? So that that's funky right there?
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: So you're you got an extra year with that that
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: advisory place. But anyway, I just realize that right now.
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: Sorry, But so you you're done with your three year deal,
- 1:33:03Speaker 4: but you're still a champ, so you owe the company
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: three fights?
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: Now can't so you can't drop the belt. And this
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: goes into certain things that happened, like I wonder if
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: you want to retire now, I haven't seen the contracts.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: Is that in there? All right, I'm done with the company.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna retire. I'm done. I'm done with the contract.
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: I want to retire. No, you owe es three fights? Okay?
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Do you owe the money then? Because back in the day,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: actually not even long ago, you owed money. If you
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: signed something, you owe money unless they were gonna, you know,
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: they were gonna like if you just said no, I'm good.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: But you've already signed the contract, you owe the money.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: You couldn't just retire randomly. I mean, every situation is
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: a little different, just like the editor. No, right, But
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: so okay, let's say you're still the champ. Right, you've
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: done the three years, You're still the champ, and you
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: have to give them three more fights? Okay? So does
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: that just repeat? Is that rinse and repeat? So okay,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: I've given you three more bouts, I'm still the champ?
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: Is it? Does it kick in three more times?
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: Then?
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: Because if so, first of all, that's fucked up. Anyway,
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: if you've if you've already obligated, you've you've met the
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: obligations of the contract. That should be enough. And like
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: I said, can you drop their belt? Is that? Is
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: this the way? If you leave us, we're gonna get
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: that belt one way or a number or another right.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: And and that's very common, uh somewhat common practice one
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: way or another right. We see that where some fighters
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: would be like fuck it, like Lucid dropped his ship
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: and then Dubois picked it up and then all of
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: a sudden they're calling it undisputed again. But but did
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: it did they need to really drop it? Well? They
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: had to because of blah blah blah. Right, but so
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: does it is it just I haven't seen the contract.
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: I'm asking questions. Does it just keep rins and repeating? So,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: all right, I gave you three bounts. Now now you
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: still got to give three more. Is it three more
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: after that or is it just those three? Either way,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: it's fucked up. But now to contrast it with a
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: contract that I that I know for sure happens. Right, So,
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: let's say you sign with a promotional company. If they
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: bring you to that championship fight, they they get you
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: to the I mean sometimes it can be if you
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: become champion, an automatic extension kicks in. That's on your
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: first agreement. So let's say you're a prospect, you sign
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: a deal if they sometimes it's if they get you
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: to the title fight, it's an automatic extension. But what
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: I've seen is if you if you become a champion,
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: it automatically kicks in into the contract. I've seen that
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: with Top Rank, I've seen that with some other ones. Right, So,
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: so at least you know signing it that that's the deal. Well,
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: you know signing it that that's the deal here. But
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: if you're still a champion, And to me, that's kind
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: of fucked up because if you sign a three year deal,
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: you just happen to be champed. Now you can't leave
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: the company. You know, that's this is weird. It's very
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: sanctioning built bullshit. It's it's just more run of the
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: mill bullshit now because we've seen fighters that that was
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: in their contract but they didn't reach the championship. Whether
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: they wanted or lost, they just didn't reach it and
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: that extension doesn't kick in and they just get you know,
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: the contracts or they get cut because you can get
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: cut in any time in these contracts, a lot of them,
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: not all of them, but a lot of them. So
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: trying to give you some contrast of it, because I've
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: seen that. You know you're a champ. Okay, we guided
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: you in to be fair. You know, not many promotional
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: outfits these days, but some promotional or management however you
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: want to put it, can guide you to a championship.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: And without them, it does. It's tougher to guide to
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: get yourself to a championship position. It's tough to position
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: yourself without help. Right, We've seen it time and time again.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: So you know you can say that's fucked up. Why
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: if I want it if I won the Yeah, I
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: have to win the championship. But then again, a lot
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: of times they get you there, they guide you to
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: that spot. Now you won the fight. But then again
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: in the tight fight, if you're guided by the right person,
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: you may get one that goes your way. In that
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: title fight, you never know. If you're a ticket seller, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: We know there's corruption when it comes to that too,
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: the house fire and all that. Right, So you can
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: say that kind of is bullshit, and I think that's fair,
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: but there's not I haven't seen a contract or heard
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: of a country. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: I haven't heard of a contract. Once you're champ, then
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: they can keep holding you like that extension kicks in.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: Once that extension is done, then it's done. You know,
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: as the editor note in this article, just to repeat it,
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: that can be you know, it can be all negotiated,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: right but and some of this can be negotiated, of course,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: But to me, that just sounds shisty, and that just
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: sounds weird. And I would really like to know after
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: you owe them three bouts Okay, then can they finally go?
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: So they did your three years, they became champ, they
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: gave you three more bouts. Can they go now? Would
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: be my next question. And I think that's a fair question,
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: but well done by abrahamen Zalez. You know, I just
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: wanna shot that out, all right, So a little long winded, sorry,
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: but you know, you gotta you gotta kind of talk
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: your way through this stuff. So according to the advisor
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: okay of Usik, the trainer advisor sir hey lappin that
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: and this is uh, this is at game k Media,
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: who actually just got his account back. Five more fights
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: for Usik. Question mark. That's what Sarah let lap in
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: his advisor and train or claims. Hmm interesting, five more fights.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: That's pretty interesting. I wonder if that actually comes out
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: to be true. I do wonder that. Okay, so what
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: else did you got? Oh? Okay, So we're gonna kind
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: of do what we do, right, We're gonna shuffle in
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: some boxing news and boxing Twitter sometimes a combination. This
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: is logan Dopson on a good old boxing Twitter or Twitter.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: In general, the aliac was well intentioned, but in it
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense in the modern day sports landscape.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: So right then and there, when you talk about modern
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: day sporting landscape, the aliac wasn't put in eighty years ago.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: It's still modern, Okay, it's not modern. Okay. Anyway, Imagine
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: if the NFL was not allowed to promote their games,
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: because they also are the ones who said the game rules.
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: Imagine if the MLB wasn't allowed to determine who goes
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: to the playoff. Blah blah blah. It makes no sense.
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: It goes a long way to explaining why boxing is
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: less popular now than ever. The thing is, and John
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: Nash quote tweeted him again, the NBA and NFL are
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: cartels that are granted anti trust exemption because they have
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: cbas with their players, whereas under this new bill, UBOs
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: could operate as single entity monopolies leagues with employees versus
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: single entity contractors. Seems like a pretty big difference. Yeah,
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: that's a huge difference. Okay, their union, like they have
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: they come to terms with the union, thus the athlete
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: boxers whatever. Now if they're now, if they had a negotiation,
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: then that'd be different. But that's not what it is.
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: That's not what it is at all. So yeah, that
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: that's one of those things. I did hear that there's
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: talk about Boots and Ortiz, assuming Ortiz gets through not
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: only beating Lubin, which I think he will, but healthy
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: that they're they're looking at Sinko a Mile weekend in
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: Vegas in twenty twenty six. So but yeah, I did
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: get a variety of messages. Oh here I saw this,
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman in a six round heavyweight
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: boxing match on that to open the Jake Paul Tank,
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, no, thank you. I'm just going through some
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: of my message that I had gone through that I
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: usually saved some for the show. And they're saying that
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: you had to sign with Hayman to fight on his cards,
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: and that's just not true. Terrence Crawford didn't. Terrence Crawford
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: did not a rematch clause is not signing with the
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: BBC or Al Hayman. Okay, that's just not true. I
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: mentioned it earlier in the show. Ryan Garcia, Mungia Berlanga.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: I don't know why I said it like Berlanga. I
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: don't know why I said it like that, but I did. Okay,
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: No Boots, oh shit, Boots, Ennis did he ever sign
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: with them, Nope. Did he sign with Showtime yep? And
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: like I said, Samson Boxing, not every Samson boxer is
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: connected or sign not connected signed with the BBC. Now,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: like I said, sometimes someone pulls an upset or whatever
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: and they do sign with them. Some of them are,
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: some of them are That's just how it goes. So no,
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: they don't force you. And then also if you sign
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: with Al Hayman, you don't have to sign with the promoter.
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: There's promoter fees, whether that's coming from the fighter, whether
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: that's coming from the entity of BBC. You didn't have
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: to sign a long term deal. You have to sign
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: allegedly four years with the advisory, meaning they can fuck
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: with you after you're done with your three year zoof
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: of boxing. So it is different. In the Hayman structure,
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: you can just sign with Hayman and not sign with
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: the promoter. And remember he had a lot to do
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: with taking down the the advisor slash manager the advisor
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: we'll just call it manager fee to that fifteen percent
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: because legally, I think legally to this day it's like
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: thirty Actually I think it's thirty thirty three point three.
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: Don't quote me on that it's it's at least thirty
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: percent though that they can legally take for me legally.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: Now it's come down more and you don't really hear
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: that number as much anymore. Right, and sometimes trainers will
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: be your manager, you know, And so it's all kind
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: of in that right. But he had a lot to
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: do with bringing that fee down entering the business. So
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: it is different. And and that came up in the
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: Golden Boy lawsuit where Golden Boy. In the Golden Boy contracts,
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: they basically had to approve your management. Why in the
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: fuck does a promoter have the right to approve your management? What?
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: And that was, okay, are you signed with Al or not?
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: Why you just fucking say ask him, you know. But
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: in the contract they have to approve your manager. So
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: maybe you're not signed with Hayman, but then you're you're
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: under their promotional thing to be able to maybe you
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: wanted to sign with Hayman. Then after maybe you're what
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: if your manager fucked you over and you wanted to
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: go to Al or some other manager right on the
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: up and up. No, it has to be it has
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: to pass through Golden Boy. That's nonsense, dude. It's nonsense, man,
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: it's totally bullshit and it's just funny. Like I said,
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: Steve Kim and others, they were all they cared so
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: much about the Ali Act back in the Hayman days
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: when he first, you know, came with the BBC. Now
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: they don't give two ships about it all of a sudden,
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: and we know why, we know why then we know
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: why now it's real obvious. So yeah, that that's that's
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: the deal. That's the deal. You didn't you didn't have
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: to sign to a promoter. Now was the promoter getting
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: paid to promote? Yes, And that is kind of the
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: basis of what boxing used to be before the power promoters.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: I guess you could call them or even you know,
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: I mean if you look at you know, Zanfer in
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: top rank had a good you know connection there right
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: where they worked hand to hand. And we all know
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: WBO with Bob Oney w BA recently, you know, like
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: you know, Hayman was pretty his fighters were pretty tied
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: up in the w B A w B A, not
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: the w n B A, the w B A, so
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: that you know, these are just basic things. Anyway, Jim
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: Cross as Matissa opens up as a slight favor against
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: Dalton Smith. Smith getting a ton of respect in this
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: spot and considered Mattias is proven, is more proven at
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: this level and will be Smith's first fight on you
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: as soil in front of a pro Mattias your crowd
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: with plenty of Puerto Ricans. So plus one twelve is
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: what Dalton Smith is in some places. That's that's kind
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: of interesting. That's kind of interesting. Uh. Fred Garvin talking
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: about Abraham Gonzalez's article, he quote who said, good article.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: There's also many other potential areas where the UBO structure
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: will carve away a fighter's earnings. Although I have to
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: point out Al Hayman was the manager. He was was
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: a manager. He was operating as the ali acting tenant.
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: The managers decided to do the fighters fight, promoters handled
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: the events, and that is true. Now I talked about
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: the pay per view and all that. It does seem
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: like there's gonna be a November launch for the Ring Pass, right.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: I saw this to Zone to launch the Ring Pass.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: We heard about this a couple months ago. The Zone
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: will announce a new premium subscription in November, which will
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: include all pay per view events. So they're not getting
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: out just like I called it. They're not getting out
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: of the promote the pay per view business. Okay, they're
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: not getting out of it. They're they're allowing hardcores to
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: not pay as much. But which think about it, there's
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: already these pay per views aren't selling. They just aren't.
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: On average, they just aren't, especially in the US. Like
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: I said, this, this one this weekend, it could sell
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: them the UK. It's not gonna sell here. It's just not.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: It's there's been even better fights in some of these
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: fight cards have been awesome. They're not fucking gaining traction here.
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: It's just that's the fact of the matter. Okay, but imagine,
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: so they're already shrunk the audience right now, they're gonna
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: shrink it again because only the hardcore of the hardcore
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: are gonna get the subscription. So you're talking about even
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: a lesser, lesser amount of people are watching it now,
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: even less than it already was, which wasn't much so
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: and then someone actually screamed, shot this meet. I don't
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: know who tweeted this, but someone's screenshot it. They're expected
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: to have around fifteen pay per view events annually that'll
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: be included in a new subscription including Benavita's yard. So
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: that's oh my god. So that's not even once a month.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: We're gonna do that, that three in a week from
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: a Saturday Friday Saturday or a Saturday Saturday. We're gonna
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: do two in a month at times. I mean, it's
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: a fucking joke, dude, Like I never truly believed that
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: they were never gonna get that, they'd never dip their
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: toes into a pay per view. You had Canelo, of
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: course you were going to be had Anthony joh you
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: were going to but it was them who came out
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: and smashing the TV and saying pay per views dead.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: I didn't one believe him, you know, but that was there.
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: They invested money in that. Then they got in the
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: paper field once they got Canelo out of the you know,
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: once golden boy in Canelo was gone, then he signed
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: with his own you know, and then then they started
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: doing paper views more. And it's just crazy that and
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: Turkey's been so up and down on this, and he
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: wanted and that's why I do give credit for his
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: own or not his own, sorry for paramount with that
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: UFC deal. Now, Dana said, doesn't mean there's never going
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: to be ever a pay per view, but on average
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: it won't be pay per view, and some of them
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: won't be CBS. So now it took all these years
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: of increasing the audience with too many pay per views,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: but I give them credit for this new deal that
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: you know, that's pretty cool. Is it? What seven years
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: or whatever it is? So so Turkey tried to jump
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: on that credit a little bit, like try to jump
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: on and be like, yeah, dude, I came up with
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: this idea a little bit ago, bro, and it's hurting
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: the sport man. It's hurting the sport, bro, and we
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: care about the fans, but we're gonna keep doing them.
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: But we're just gonna give you a like a I
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: guess it won't be a second subscription. It will just
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: be a bigger subscription now so you can get a
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: regular one and then a bigger one. You can get
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: the ring pass that tells you that they're still doing
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: pay per views though. So it's just it's so backwards, dude.
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: If al Hayman said a card was free, then switched
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: to pay per view and did it more than once,
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: well you know you know what would happen. I mean,
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: it's it's come on, duh, it's crazy. I mean, this
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: shits way over the top, dude, way over the top.
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: I did see that Abel Mendoza, that guy with the
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: big the like forty two zero or whatever. I saw
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: Dan the boxing Man. He said he'd just signed a
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: multi fight deal with TGB Promotions. So there's that. I
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: think he's what a lightweight, right John Nash. We talked
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: about the similarities on my podcast, meaning that similarities to
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: what Zoofa is doing in BBC. We also went over
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: the major differences, namely, the fighters signing with Zoofa are
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: required to first enter into an advisory agreement with that LLC.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: If accurate, that's not the same, yeah, acquirement exactly. This
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: This is just real basic it. Matt from brunch Boxing
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: seeing quite a few fighters, promoters and people speaking out
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: against the California State elect Commission support of gutting the
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: Mahl and Ali Act would have been nice if you
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: guys were either on the calls with or if you
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: were on the calls in any event, you still have
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: a chance to make a difference. See when DC question Mark, Yeah,
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: that's you know it. If people were down to go
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: out to DC and it was a decent amount of people.
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: I'm not even saying, remember I said ten thousand or
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: a thousand, even if there'd be I don't know, I
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: would be down to do that. If there was a
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: decent amount of people that all were ready for it,
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: I'd do it. I'm not gonna go there with just
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: five people because it doesn't make any sense. But I
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: think that's interesting. And going back to what just talking
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: about it, like you can do I've said, I think
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: a couple episodes ago or several episodes ago, when this
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: first came out, I named the people that have co
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: sponsored this, Republican and Democrat, so you can contact them.
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: I have, there's people and this is just everyone. This
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: is everyone that you can do it. And like I mentioned,
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: just to reiterate your state, who is anybody gonna who
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: in the Congress is from your state? That what it
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: would need to pass. Contact those people. And a lot
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: of times you're you're calling a fucking number and you're
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: leaving a message or you're emailing and you're saying I
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: stand against what else. Cesora and Miller signed Manchester December. Okay,
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: that that actually does make sense. That actually does make
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: sense because both those guys are just in that washed area.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: Eddie Hearn talking about Navarette and Nuniez. It's one of
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: the best fights in boxing, two Mexican world champions, and
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: while there's a lot of work to do, I'm very
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: hopeful it could happen. I think Navaretta wants to fight.
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: We've got a great relationship with Top Ranks, so hopefully
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: we get it made. I don't think it's one of
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: the best fights in boxing, but I think it's a
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: great matchup. It is a great matchup. Oh yeah, I
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: actually wrote down a couple in Fury too, Tyson Fury.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: Perfect example, Tyson Fiery. The first time that they fought
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: before he fought on Top Rank or before he signed
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: with Top Rank. The first time did not have to
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: in I repeat, did not have to. They didn't even
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: have a rematch clause. And they're actually the first time
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: he didn't have to sign with al to get the
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: fight with Wilder, and then remember they had a rematch
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: set to go. Fury even admits he had the contract
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: for like a week and then he got a big
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: offer from Top Rank.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: So yeah, so oh Bachrum Bachrum and.
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: Kelly Purse Bits postponed where tis zilievre to Zaliev. Why
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: can't I say that fucking name? Anyway? It was scheduled today,
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: it's it's been postponed. Ooh. Lawrence Sokoli and David Adeline
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: are set to return in separate heavyweight bouts in Nigeria
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: December nineteenth. I did hear Eddie talking about that. Here's
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: another one that I saw today, a tweet a boxing twitter.
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: I'll never forgive Haney for robbing Loman Checko, which that
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: for robbing Lomachenko would be How you say that, I'll
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: never forgive Hani for robbing by Lomachenko. Like, I don't
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: I tweet shit wrong because I'll be paying attention to
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: other stuff or you know, watching the game or just
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: not focused. I'll fucking retweet shit that's spelled wrong and
- 1:58:24Speaker 1: shit like that, you know, or not retweet tweet shit.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: I'll tweet something and it won't be spelled right or
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: it won't be you know. So I'm not ripping this, dude.
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: But my response was like, dude, One, as we know,
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: there's no such thing as a robbery. That's a tight fight, okay.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: And two like he's not a judge. He he didn't
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: HAINI didn't rob him. Hani was on he was on
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: a short term deal. You know, it's op rank technically right,
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: but like Wimmashenko was top bring his guy. So you know,
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: I also saw this today. There's a there's a movie
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: I Play Rocky. Is that what it's called? First look?
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: So let's just okay, I Play Rocky. The film follows
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: a young servisslus st alone in the dramatic journey it
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: took to get to rock Rocky made. And there's somebody,
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: quote tweeted a dude playing a dude playing another dude
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: the motion picture. Yeah shit, that's that's weird. But whatever. Anyway,
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: I think that about wraps it up. Hopefully we get
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: John next week. I do want to get his thoughts.
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: He is a lawyer, so he'll be looking into this
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: stuff and I want to you know, I want to
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: get his thoughts on this stuff. But Parker Wardley, let's
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: get it in. Like I said, there's some other fights
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: as well. We'll be back next week, all right, bet
