- 8:28Speaker 1: I mean obviously I think it goes without saying make
- 8:31Speaker 1: sure you got a leash going. But that's that's cool.
- 8:35Speaker 1: So that's in the that's in today's paper too, hu.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yes it is, yep. So that's an exciting event coming up.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Anything else you can think of.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I think we do have some real estate listings in

- 10:47Speaker 1: gonna be nuts. It's just gonna be crazy. And I
- 10:54Speaker 1: hope that you've got a calendar that is up and
- 11:00Speaker 1: warmed up and ready, because the stage is going to
- 11:05Speaker 1: be set for one hell of a weekend. It is
- 11:08Speaker 1: going to be NonStop. And then we got you know,

- 12:32Speaker 2: They can't.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I can't believe Friday is May first. Whow Saturday May two,

- 13:36Speaker 1: the Central Format Chamber of Commerce. They're gearing up and
- 13:40Speaker 1: ready for their Chamber Challenge golf tournament, which I believe
- 13:45Speaker 1: is right on the cusp of being sold out. It
- 13:48Speaker 1: does every year. And I might even say this if
- 13:53Speaker 1: and we try to warn you as far in advance
- 13:56Speaker 1: as possible on this, but if you did not get
- 14:01Speaker 1: your team together in time to be part of that
- 14:03Speaker 1: on May eighth, by the way, that's a Friday, that's
- 14:06Speaker 1: a week one week from this coming Friday, you should
- 14:09Speaker 1: give them a ring and get on the call list
- 14:13Speaker 1: for next year so that you're in, you're part of it.
- 14:17Speaker 1: It's gonna be amazing. I know they had some rain
- 14:20Speaker 1: in the past, but this year on May eighth, looking
- 14:24Speaker 1: into the Crystal Ball and I'm seeing nothing but sunshine.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Speaking of which, we'll have a little bit of sunshine
- 14:30Speaker 1: today the official word mostly cloudy and a temperature of
- 14:35Speaker 1: around seventy two. Tonight the rain comes in and it's
- 14:40Speaker 1: gonna be with us all day tomorrow. Will there be
- 14:44Speaker 1: a softball game for Lily tomorrow? Who knows? But we
- 14:49Speaker 1: do need some rain. We need it badly. It's been
- 14:52Speaker 1: so dry, it's been so windy that the fire hatchards
- 14:54Speaker 1: have been huge. We're gonna shift gears this morning because
- 14:59Speaker 1: I've got my good friend Witton Buttington on the air
- 15:03Speaker 1: with it me.
- 15:03Speaker 6: Good morning, Witten, Good morning.
- 15:06Speaker 2: How are you'm well, Bud?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Especially that I'm talking with you, I know that I
- 15:13Speaker 1: can when I'm chatting with you, that I can kind
- 15:15Speaker 1: of lay back a little bit, have a sip of coffee,
- 15:18Speaker 1: and and and and honestly and just absorb what it
- 15:24Speaker 1: is that you're saying. But first off, big, big, good
- 15:28Speaker 1: morning to you. It's been a while since I've chatted
- 15:30Speaker 1: with you. What in the heck is going on? What
- 15:34Speaker 1: is new with sweethearts and heroes these days?
- 15:37Speaker 6: Well, the biggest news with sweethearts and heroes.
- 15:41Speaker 7: I know you've had Pat Fish on a few times
- 15:45Speaker 7: and he and his wife Melissa had a birthday yesterday
- 15:50Speaker 7: and welcome Lilah Blair Fish.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Wow, is that guy well? First of all, congratulations to
- 15:59Speaker 1: both for them. But is that guy not going to
- 16:02Speaker 1: be a kick ass dad or what? Oh yeah, Lila
- 16:10Speaker 1: just Lila just scored a touchdown as far as I'm concerned.
- 16:15Speaker 6: Well, and Alyssa is even more amazing than Pat.
- 16:19Speaker 1: So you never met her, but if she's connected to Pat,
- 16:23Speaker 1: gotta be kind of a default.
- 16:26Speaker 2: That's so cool. Man.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Congratulations both of them. That is amazing, amazing.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Yes, so they're they're very excited, and everybody's doing well.
- 16:36Speaker 8: And so we're we're excited for them to to Wow.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Avenue member of the Sweethearts and Heroes family.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Absolutely for a life member.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Yep.
- 16:46Speaker 1: But man, what's new with you? What's what's going on?
- 16:49Speaker 1: What's happening? How are you?
- 16:51Speaker 6: I'm doing great. You know.
- 16:53Speaker 7: One thing I love about my role with Sweethearts and
- 16:56Speaker 7: Heroes is I I can do it remote.
- 17:00Speaker 6: So I'm actually talking to you from Maine right now.
- 17:03Speaker 1: So the last the last time I talked with you
- 17:06Speaker 1: hang on now accessing my pathetic memory bank. Uh it
- 17:13Speaker 1: was it was a warm environment, is that correct?
- 17:16Speaker 6: Yeah? I was down in Hilton Head.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I was gonna say South Carolina. Yeah, there we go. Yeah,
- 17:23Speaker 2: And now you're up freezing your tail off up in Maine.
- 17:27Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, what are you doing?
- 17:29Speaker 2: What are you doing in Mainebut?
- 17:32Speaker 7: Well, my my wise family has a house in Stonington,
- 17:37Speaker 7: Maine that we're.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Having some work done on.
- 17:41Speaker 7: So we're up here just kind of checking on that
- 17:43Speaker 7: progress while we had a.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Window to travel up here.
- 17:46Speaker 7: And and so we're here for the week to make
- 17:51Speaker 7: some decisions on a few things for the house and
- 17:55Speaker 7: keep keep the project moving along.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Now, you have been a a huge hitter. What is
- 18:04Speaker 1: your exact title? I know that you do a lot
- 18:08Speaker 1: of the communication, a lot of the booking of schools
- 18:11Speaker 1: and businesses that get connected with with the world's number
- 18:17Speaker 1: one youth leadership program, But what is your what's the
- 18:21Speaker 1: official title?
- 18:23Speaker 8: My official title is Director of Logistics and School Outreach.
- 18:27Speaker 2: That sounds like Tom made that up.
- 18:30Speaker 9: He did.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Okay, you're a busy guy. You're this is not a
- 18:38Speaker 1: nine to five Monday through Friday job.
- 18:42Speaker 7: No, it's you know what's been interesting for me coming
- 18:46Speaker 7: from being in education and working in schools for thirty
- 18:50Speaker 7: two and a half years before I retired, was you
- 18:53Speaker 7: get so used to a schedule, right and at five o'clock,
- 18:58Speaker 7: five thirty six, seven o'clock.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Whenever I headed home. Yeah, I was home.
- 19:04Speaker 8: And for a large part, you know, this this role now,
- 19:08Speaker 8: it doesn't follow a set schedule. You know, I'm connecting
- 19:12Speaker 8: with schools when their administrators and teachers are available, and
- 19:17Speaker 8: then you know, Tom gets done presenting and so then
- 19:22Speaker 8: we talk sometimes five six o'clock at night. Yeah, and
- 19:26Speaker 8: then in between there I might have a couple hours
- 19:29Speaker 8: to go to the gym or do something, go for
- 19:31Speaker 8: a walk or something, or catch up on emails. But
- 19:33Speaker 8: it's not it's not that scheduled routine that I had
- 19:37Speaker 8: for thirty two and a half years.
- 19:38Speaker 6: So sure, but I'm I'm enjoying it. It's it's different.
- 19:43Speaker 1: The thing about Sweethearts and Heroes is you just get
- 19:47Speaker 1: onto any of their social media anywhere, you'll see that
- 19:53Speaker 1: the content is constantly fresh. You guys are always moving,
- 20:00Speaker 1: You're never stagnant, You're always busy. There's always something happening
- 20:05Speaker 1: and moving in a forward direction to help not only
- 20:09Speaker 1: kids but also adults. I mean, look at what's going
- 20:12Speaker 1: on with Sweethearts and Heroes right now with the linement everywhere.
- 20:18Speaker 7: Yeah, well, Tom and Tom and Rick right now are
- 20:21Speaker 7: up in Alasta presenting to linement and the electrical workers
- 20:27Speaker 7: up up there, they're up there for the week and
- 20:31Speaker 7: it's it's incredible. And really what it what it is
- 20:35Speaker 7: is the power of circle and the you know people,
- 20:39Speaker 7: people want that connection.
- 20:42Speaker 6: And I think you.
- 20:43Speaker 8: Know, in one of our earlier conversations, you and I
- 20:46Speaker 8: talked a little bit about those social institutions that we
- 20:50Speaker 8: used to have, whether it was the bowling league or
- 20:54Speaker 8: the Elks Club or the VSW or what it what
- 20:59Speaker 8: it was, as those have.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Are fading and we as adults, we don't have those.
- 21:07Speaker 7: Opportunities to connect and have have those connections and through that,
- 21:14Speaker 7: you know, once is talking about our feelings and our
- 21:17Speaker 7: motions and how to deal with them.
- 21:20Speaker 6: And one thing we know is everybody is dealing with something.
- 21:25Speaker 7: Yeah, and you know, so that's that's the power of circle,
- 21:30Speaker 7: is having people come together.
- 21:33Speaker 6: And and.
- 21:37Speaker 7: Develop a sense of security where they can they can
- 21:41Speaker 7: share a little bit about what they're doing, and also
- 21:44Speaker 7: they can be inspired and make connections with other people
- 21:50Speaker 7: that may have already gone through it and can give
- 21:53Speaker 7: them somewhat of a path.
- 21:56Speaker 1: And you know, we've talked about a circle. What what
- 22:01Speaker 1: circle is here on Wednesdays so much it's basically, it's
- 22:06Speaker 1: it's it. It's people sitting in a circle. And this
- 22:12Speaker 1: is kind of an an ancient practice of getting together,
- 22:16Speaker 1: of meeting, looking each other in the eye, and building
- 22:23Speaker 1: communication skills.
- 22:25Speaker 2: But also, as you're.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Alluding to, understanding, which is a lot of us need
- 22:33Speaker 1: a ton of that right now, knowing that you can
- 22:39Speaker 1: speak and say whatever you want to say, but not
- 22:41Speaker 1: necessarily have someone sitting next to you, like me, who's
- 22:46Speaker 1: gonna be a pestering pain in the ass by following
- 22:50Speaker 1: up with a million questions, but just knowing that you
- 22:53Speaker 1: you have that that portal, you have that that mouthpiece
- 23:00Speaker 1: to say your your piece, and the other people that
- 23:05Speaker 1: are in that circle are forced to listen and try
- 23:08Speaker 1: to understand.
- 23:10Speaker 7: Yeah, And it's not always, you know, it's not things
- 23:13Speaker 7: that like if you and I were sitting at a
- 23:17Speaker 7: pub having a beer.
- 23:18Speaker 6: It's not always things.
- 23:18Speaker 8: That we would normally talk about, right It's in circle,
- 23:24Speaker 8: it's things, you know, it's talking about values. It's you know,
- 23:27Speaker 8: if you have a value of integrity, that that that
- 23:33Speaker 8: is a theme that can be a theme for circle,
- 23:36Speaker 8: and one of ore as we continue to refine our
- 23:40Speaker 8: circle practice is taking some of those those values and
- 23:45Speaker 8: that some of this is some of the work Tom's
- 23:47Speaker 8: doing with the linemen. What are the values that companies
- 23:52Speaker 8: are living in and what are the values that people
- 23:54Speaker 8: are living in. But you take a value like integrity
- 23:56Speaker 8: and you think about what are some idioms that really
- 24:00Speaker 8: to integrity because idioms are are ways that you know,
- 24:04Speaker 8: people had taught you know, how how do you behave?
- 24:09Speaker 8: Walk to talk is an is an idiom that relates
- 24:12Speaker 8: to integrity?
- 24:12Speaker 10: Right?
- 24:13Speaker 6: Yeah, So if if.
- 24:15Speaker 8: We're in a circle and we've got this now thinking
- 24:19Speaker 8: about integrity and thinking about the idiom about walk to talk,
- 24:23Speaker 8: you know, and just asking the question about who's somebody
- 24:26Speaker 8: you know that walks to talk and who's somebody that doesn't?
- 24:32Speaker 8: You know, who's what does it mean to walk to talk?
- 24:36Speaker 7: And then you know, getting into a little bit deeper,
- 24:40Speaker 7: you know, what's the time you found it difficult to
- 24:44Speaker 7: walk the talk?
- 24:46Speaker 2: It is? It is so different.
- 24:50Speaker 1: When any of you from sweethearts and heroes are sitting
- 24:55Speaker 1: down with a bunch of middle schoolers or high schoolers,
- 25:04Speaker 1: then it is when you're sitting down with a bunch
- 25:08Speaker 1: of adults, especially grown men, who frankly are extremely tough.
- 25:16Speaker 1: These lignmen be in alignment. Frankly, anywhere you got to
- 25:23Speaker 1: be tougher than nails. Throw in some high winds, some sleet,
- 25:28Speaker 1: some snow, some ridiculous temperatures, and then turn the lights out,
- 25:34Speaker 1: make it all dark. You know how these linemen up
- 25:38Speaker 1: there in Alaska are doing it is absolutely beyond It's
- 25:47Speaker 1: beyond me and you guys. Having these folks all sit
- 25:52Speaker 1: down together and communicating is it's remarkable. No one else
- 25:59Speaker 1: is doing this when.
- 26:02Speaker 7: No and and you know it's not it's not just
- 26:05Speaker 7: line them too, it's other adults. We've started working with
- 26:09Speaker 7: the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in New York and they're
- 26:12Speaker 7: school resource officers, And I know you had Sheriff Smith
- 26:15Speaker 7: on I believe a couple of weeks ago, sharing a
- 26:18Speaker 7: little bit about that program. And you know, it's it's
- 26:24Speaker 7: trying to build and spread humanity is really you know
- 26:29Speaker 7: what it comes down to.
- 26:30Speaker 6: I think.
- 26:32Speaker 7: As we work with adults and and with students, it's
- 26:36Speaker 7: you know, having that example of a circle around integrity.
- 26:40Speaker 7: You know, students are trying to figure out who they are,
- 26:44Speaker 7: what are their values? What are they are the values
- 26:48Speaker 7: that their parents had, what they value you know, and
- 26:52Speaker 7: we need to give kids opportunities to to work that
- 26:57Speaker 7: struggle and figure and figure that out. And that's what
- 27:00Speaker 7: that's what Circle does for kids in school.
- 27:04Speaker 6: But you know, I know a lot of.
- 27:06Speaker 7: Adults that if you say, you know, what are your values,
- 27:10Speaker 7: what are those things that you live your life around,
- 27:16Speaker 7: adults struggle with that too.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean we are.
- 27:20Speaker 1: You know, we can be selfish, we can be set
- 27:25Speaker 1: in our ways, we can get inside of our own
- 27:29Speaker 1: heads and be quite honestly, very stubborn with our beliefs system.
- 27:35Speaker 2: But to.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Be kind of forced, if you will, and I hate
- 27:39Speaker 1: to use that word, but to be forced to listen
- 27:42Speaker 1: to others and learn of their perspective can teach us
- 27:47Speaker 1: a lot. And we may not say, oh hey, wow,
- 27:50Speaker 1: did I learn a lot, but quietly in our minds
- 27:54Speaker 1: we're thinking about that individual that we heard and their
- 28:01Speaker 1: perspective on things, no matter what it is, no matter
- 28:05Speaker 1: what it is.
- 28:07Speaker 7: And I was thinking about perspective when I was listening
- 28:11Speaker 7: to you your weather report this morning. You know, mostly
- 28:16Speaker 7: cloudy is still a little bit sunny, yes, So you know,
- 28:21Speaker 7: do we want to be looking at that as it's
- 28:23Speaker 7: a mostly cloudy day or it's a little bit sunny day, right,
- 28:27Speaker 7: and that that can totally change.
- 28:33Speaker 6: How we.
- 28:36Speaker 8: Carry ourselves from when you're in circle and somebody's talking
- 28:39Speaker 8: about a challenge that they've overcome and you're going through
- 28:46Speaker 8: a challenge that's similar, and you can start to realize that, oh,
- 28:52Speaker 8: I can overcome this.
- 28:54Speaker 6: Somebody else has overcome this. It is something that can
- 28:56Speaker 6: be overcome and.
- 28:58Speaker 8: You might not have felt that way before where you
- 29:00Speaker 8: sat down into that circle exactly.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Willie Nelson said, once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones,
- 29:12Speaker 1: you'll start having positive results.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I hear you. It's it's it's.
- 29:21Speaker 1: What we what we think, becomes who we are, and
- 29:27Speaker 1: you've got to try to replace any kind of negative
- 29:32Speaker 1: thinking with with positive stuff. I want to talk about
- 29:38Speaker 1: Pat a little bit. Pat Fish, who we let off
- 29:41Speaker 1: this morning, a Brave and Circle specialist with sweethearts and heroes.
- 29:49Speaker 1: He has spent uh the entire year working with students
- 29:55Speaker 1: over at Saint Regis Falls Central School District. Tell me
- 30:00Speaker 1: about that that experience that Pat has had over there,
- 30:04Speaker 1: the impacts.
- 30:05Speaker 7: That he's had so the Brave program that he's been
- 30:09Speaker 7: doing at Saint Regis Falls. Our Brave program is a
- 30:11Speaker 7: six week program working with older students and building their
- 30:20Speaker 7: skills and having them work with younger elementary students on
- 30:26Speaker 7: bully drills and circle And what was unique about Saint
- 30:30Speaker 7: Regis Falls in New York is that it's a small school.
- 30:35Speaker 6: There's only there's only like twenty five thirty kids in
- 30:40Speaker 6: the tenth grade.
- 30:42Speaker 7: So usually in schools with our Brave program, we're working
- 30:45Speaker 7: with a group of about eighteen to twenty selected from
- 30:50Speaker 7: a you know, kids in the grade. But in Saint
- 30:52Speaker 7: Regis Falls, every tenth grader was in the program, and so.
- 30:58Speaker 8: You had a range of kids that were more outgoing
- 31:01Speaker 8: and some that were a little quieter and shy. And
- 31:06Speaker 8: it's amazing because it's that six week program, because it's
- 31:10Speaker 8: developmental and it builds that.
- 31:13Speaker 7: Agency for the students. They can start wherever they are
- 31:18Speaker 7: and grow.
- 31:19Speaker 8: So the students that are outgoing, they took a group
- 31:23Speaker 8: and started working with them.
- 31:25Speaker 6: Some of the other students.
- 31:27Speaker 8: That weren't quite as outgoing sat back and observed the
- 31:31Speaker 8: first couple times working with younger students, but by the
- 31:35Speaker 8: end they were working with students and so that it's
- 31:39Speaker 8: just so phenomenal to see that that growth in kids
- 31:46Speaker 8: stepping out of their shelves and their comfort zones and
- 31:50Speaker 8: when they see the impact that, you know, a little
- 31:54Speaker 8: kid has on them.
- 31:56Speaker 7: It's the same impact the little girl had on Rick.
- 32:00Speaker 7: She came up to an arrest him in a restaurant
- 32:02Speaker 7: and he thought she was going to be scared, and
- 32:03Speaker 7: she went back to her her grandpa and said he's
- 32:06Speaker 7: really nice.
- 32:08Speaker 6: That turned Rick's world around.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah, huge pivotal moment, pivotal moment in his life. I
- 32:18Speaker 1: wish he was still in touch with that that little girl. Yeah,
- 32:24Speaker 1: but you know, just seeing these seeing Pat interact with
- 32:33Speaker 1: these students is just so cool man, you know. And
- 32:38Speaker 1: I'm showing a couple of the pictures here of of
- 32:42Speaker 1: Pat over at Saint Regis and the bully trails. Man,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I mean, look at this. Is that this is one
- 32:53Speaker 1: right now? They actually role play bully trills.
- 32:59Speaker 7: Yeah, we're teaching kids the you know, it's a skill
- 33:05Speaker 7: to step into a situation and confront something and unless
- 33:10Speaker 7: you practice that, you know, it's hard to do. So
- 33:15Speaker 7: the whole idea of our bully drills is to to
- 33:18Speaker 7: model for students the process of taking somebody away from
- 33:23Speaker 7: a situation, budding up to them in a situation. We're
- 33:27Speaker 7: confronting the situation with your superpower and giving kids the
- 33:31Speaker 7: opportunity to practice that and in a fun, playful manner,
- 33:36Speaker 7: because that's where we learn through play, and that's what
- 33:41Speaker 7: our bully drills do and give kids those opportunities to
- 33:46Speaker 7: do that and to tap into their superpowers. Because if
- 33:50Speaker 7: you want to confront a situation, and you know, I know,
- 33:54Speaker 7: one of your superpowers is talking, right, so you could
- 34:00Speaker 7: go into a situation and just start talking, and that's
- 34:04Speaker 7: that's confronting the situation. My superpower might be I'm a
- 34:09Speaker 7: little clumsy, so I could I could trip into a
- 34:12Speaker 7: situation to disrupt the situation.
- 34:15Speaker 6: That's that's not a positive one for somebody.
- 34:18Speaker 7: Other people have different superpowers of song or laughter or whatever,
- 34:25Speaker 7: and that's and that's what the program helps kids recognize
- 34:29Speaker 7: is their strengths and their powers that they have that
- 34:33Speaker 7: they can utilize to be there and help other people.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Let's give a shout to Jason Ellis over in Elis Chevrolet.
- 34:46Speaker 7: Yeah, we couldn't the work that we're doing in many schools.
- 34:51Speaker 7: I mean, Jason has sponsored us in the past in
- 34:55Speaker 7: the Malone School District and sponsoring the Brave program year
- 35:00Speaker 7: at Saint Regis Falls and also uh circle visits that
- 35:04Speaker 7: are coming.
- 35:04Speaker 6: Up, Pats going up to Shadow Gay and the end
- 35:08Speaker 6: of May.
- 35:08Speaker 7: Toward the end of May for circle visits, and those
- 35:12Speaker 7: wouldn't be happening without the generosity of Jason and Elis Chevrolet.
- 35:20Speaker 1: That school is uh, that that's way up. That's it's
- 35:24Speaker 1: up near the border, isn't it.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Yeah, Shadow Gay?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you guys. Man, you guys are just moving everywhere.
- 35:33Speaker 1: You're you're all over the place. That is so cool.
- 35:39Speaker 6: Yeah, it really.
- 35:42Speaker 7: And a lot of our you know, people see our
- 35:45Speaker 7: social media, people see the stories and oh.
- 35:50Speaker 8: And that's what's getting people to reach out. You know,
- 35:54Speaker 8: we're in one district in an area, and people hear the.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Impact and know some and you know, I know you
- 36:02Speaker 5: had Eric pizzetto on from Brewer, New York and or Brewster,
- 36:08Speaker 5: New York and we were just in h Irvington, which
- 36:12Speaker 5: is where his.
- 36:12Speaker 6: Wife teaches, doing a presentation.
- 36:15Speaker 2: So you know, he was amazing. He's amazing.
- 36:19Speaker 7: Oh he's yeah, he's taken it and and none with it.
- 36:23Speaker 7: And that's that's our goal. That's what we try to encourage.
- 36:27Speaker 7: When I talked to schools and districts. That's my message is,
- 36:31Speaker 7: you know, we're not We're not a presentation.
- 36:36Speaker 6: We're not a one and done presentation. We want to
- 36:39Speaker 6: come in, we want to work with you.
- 36:41Speaker 7: And you know, the staff at Saint Regis Falls that
- 36:44Speaker 7: Pat's worked with for six weeks can now do this
- 36:48Speaker 7: program on their own.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 7: You know, he's modeled it, he's trained a group of kids.
- 36:54Speaker 7: Those kids that are sophomores are going to be juniors
- 36:56Speaker 7: next year. They can The goal is for them to
- 36:59Speaker 7: continue you in the program and train a new group
- 37:02Speaker 7: of tenth grade.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 1: The the Kennedy Columbus STEP program mm hmm Step Student
- 37:08Speaker 1: Teacher e Fathy program which prepares UH high schoolers to
- 37:16Speaker 1: deliver these assemblies to.
- 37:20Speaker 2: K through two and then and three through five, three
- 37:25Speaker 2: through five.
- 37:25Speaker 7: Yeah, And we actually had this year our STEP two program,
- 37:32Speaker 7: which was students that had done the STEP presentations in
- 37:35Speaker 7: their districts last year and they went to other districts
- 37:41Speaker 7: to present that.
- 37:43Speaker 6: And it was that we were able to do that.
- 37:46Speaker 6: That's costs at no cost.
- 37:48Speaker 7: To the other districts, you know, So we had some
- 37:52Speaker 7: students from Peru and shay Z and.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Tay Konderoga.
- 37:58Speaker 8: I think uh present in other other elementary schools for
- 38:05Speaker 8: other school districts.
- 38:08Speaker 2: And we were talking, yeah, go ahead.
- 38:11Speaker 7: Well I was just gonna say, and and things keep
- 38:14Speaker 7: growing and evolving. We've got a really fun presentation coming up,
- 38:19Speaker 7: a partnership with Tom Verano from Emotion into Art, and
- 38:25Speaker 7: he's partnering with Rick on some presentations in schools the
- 38:28Speaker 7: first week of June, and I'm excited. We're very excited
- 38:32Speaker 7: for those presentations, and I'm hoping, uh, Leon can coordinate
- 38:40Speaker 7: to get Tom talking to you following those presentations as well,
- 38:44Speaker 7: because it's it's going to be it's you know, it
- 38:49Speaker 7: just takes things in a whole different perspective and a
- 38:51Speaker 7: different a different way to communicate the messages.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I have that on my calendar and I gotta
- 38:58Speaker 1: I gotta get Tom on to talk about that. But
- 39:03Speaker 1: what more can you tell us about that Emotion into Art.
- 39:08Speaker 6: Well, I don't want to tell you too much because
- 39:12Speaker 6: it's it's Uh.
- 39:15Speaker 7: Tom Burano is an artist and he uses storytelling combined
- 39:21Speaker 7: with art, and he creates these images on stage as
- 39:25Speaker 7: he's telling stories about the people he's painting portraits of
- 39:32Speaker 7: and and their stories and how they've overcome challenges, and
- 39:36Speaker 7: the focus of our partnership and collaboration is on hope.
- 39:41Speaker 6: So he's going to be doing some portraits of people
- 39:45Speaker 6: that have been really people that have spread hope and
- 39:51Speaker 6: positive messages.
- 39:53Speaker 7: And he's collaborating with Rick on it, and Rick is.
- 39:59Speaker 6: His story of home.
- 40:00Speaker 7: So it's just going to be It's an incredible ninety
- 40:03Speaker 7: minute presentation that we're we're excited for the schools that
- 40:08Speaker 7: are working with us on it, going into five districts.
- 40:13Speaker 7: A couple of districts are actually combining, like taekwond Rogan,
- 40:17Speaker 7: Crown Point are combining for presentations, and a couple of
- 40:21Speaker 7: schools in New York.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Are combining as well. So we're we're excited for it.
- 40:27Speaker 1: And this is not a guy who when he was
- 40:33Speaker 1: a kid said this is what I'm going to do
- 40:36Speaker 1: for a living. This just kind of happened.
- 40:43Speaker 7: Yeah, and he his story. He's got a great you know.
- 40:49Speaker 11: He he knew who he liked, loved art, and but
- 40:54Speaker 11: it it wasn't necessarily where he could go originally, but
- 40:59Speaker 11: his his dad supported him and he had somebody in
- 41:03Speaker 11: his corner that said, hey, if that's what you want
- 41:05Speaker 11: to do, then then do it.
- 41:09Speaker 6: And that's what your passion. Follow it, follow that passion.
- 41:12Speaker 7: And so yeah, it's his story and Rick's story and
- 41:19Speaker 7: the stories that he tells. It's just gonna be a
- 41:22Speaker 7: great inspirational presentation for these schools at the end of
- 41:26Speaker 7: the school year.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I can't wait to have Tom on talking about this.
- 41:32Speaker 1: And we've been chewing the fat a little bit over
- 41:35Speaker 1: the phone about it, but man, it's we're going to
- 41:37Speaker 1: be kicking into a different gear talking about this in
- 41:42Speaker 1: the in the coming weeks.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Man, is there.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Anything else that you can think of that you want
- 41:52Speaker 1: to you want to hit on today? I know that
- 41:55Speaker 1: you and I tend to go down a couple of
- 41:58Speaker 1: different roads when we're we're traveling, which is which is good.
- 42:02Speaker 1: But and I know that we've got Brian McKeon who's
- 42:05Speaker 1: going to be coming on real soon, uh, Brandon Brutemasso
- 42:10Speaker 1: or Bruta Messa Bruta Messo is going to be on
- 42:13Speaker 1: the way on aired out as well, coming up soon
- 42:17Speaker 1: in the month of May. I see Jay Cummings is
- 42:20Speaker 1: on the list, Kyle Turner, who is the uh the
- 42:24Speaker 1: CEO of Buck which is going to be that's going
- 42:28Speaker 1: to be a an interesting one.
- 42:33Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean there's just so many, you know, we're
- 42:37Speaker 7: so appreciative of you and and the opportunity to to
- 42:41Speaker 7: speak with you and share the messages and with your
- 42:46Speaker 7: listeners each each Wednesday. And we work with so many
- 42:51Speaker 7: incredible people that it's.
- 42:56Speaker 6: It just keeps keeps growing.
- 42:57Speaker 7: And we don't you know, the work with the lineman,
- 43:00Speaker 7: the works with the sheriff's offices, and things that wasn't
- 43:04Speaker 7: something that we had planned, right, that wasn't a strategic
- 43:09Speaker 7: business step.
- 43:11Speaker 6: These are all things that evolved.
- 43:12Speaker 7: Yeah, And and one of the things that we just
- 43:15Speaker 7: try to be open for those opportunities.
- 43:20Speaker 6: We're we're hoping to do some work with Johnson State.
- 43:24Speaker 8: They have a summer peer program that we're hoping to
- 43:26Speaker 8: do some circle work with their peer mentors this summer,
- 43:32Speaker 8: you know.
- 43:32Speaker 6: And so it's it's things that just evolved that and we.
- 43:39Speaker 7: Look to take I don't want to say take advantage,
- 43:43Speaker 7: but to follow the follow where we're being led to
- 43:48Speaker 7: to spread the work and because we know the message
- 43:51Speaker 7: is powerful.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Thing about you guys, every single one of you, and
- 43:59Speaker 1: even the yeah no, non camera guests that we have
- 44:06Speaker 1: yet to have on like Leon and Abby well I'm
- 44:11Speaker 1: hoping someday will come on.
- 44:13Speaker 2: But the thing about all of you is that.
- 44:16Speaker 1: You you genuinely love what you do.
- 44:22Speaker 2: This is.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Far from a career, it is far from a job.
- 44:29Speaker 1: It is something that you guys have fully embraced and
- 44:33Speaker 1: it is who you are, every single one of you.
- 44:38Speaker 1: At Sweethearts and Heroes and you look at Tom, a
- 44:42Speaker 1: guy who the difference that he has made in so
- 44:47Speaker 1: many lives of children of children alone, that even so
- 44:55Speaker 1: many kids who have not come up to him and
- 45:00Speaker 1: spoken directly to him and said thank you, You've had
- 45:03Speaker 1: a real impact on me.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Uh whatever, mhm. It's really remarkable.
- 45:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 7: And and it's that's why when I mean, I saw
- 45:18Speaker 7: the impact in my building I had.
- 45:20Speaker 6: I had a middle school of.
- 45:21Speaker 7: About eleven hundred kids in Penfield, New York, and had
- 45:25Speaker 7: Tom and Ricken to present about six years in a
- 45:29Speaker 7: row because we saw such the positive impact that it
- 45:33Speaker 7: had on our on our students, and we were able
- 45:37Speaker 7: to take then that and and build off of that,
- 45:40Speaker 7: and it.
- 45:41Speaker 6: Was a great It was a great school to work with.
- 45:44Speaker 7: But but these messages were what really kind of built
- 45:49Speaker 7: the foundation of our school culture.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Great stuff, man, I just uh I love you guys
- 45:57Speaker 1: so much. I you know, and I've said before, I
- 46:00Speaker 1: hope someday we can all find a hotel together and
- 46:05Speaker 1: and rent out the conference room and have our own
- 46:10Speaker 1: circle down there, just just within our our own family
- 46:16Speaker 1: of sweethearts and heroes, would be amazing. Yeah, dude, thanks
- 46:21Speaker 1: so much for coming on you witness issues. It's always
- 46:26Speaker 1: a pleasure to chat with you, my man, and I
- 46:30Speaker 1: hope to meet you someday. I don't know how many
- 46:32Speaker 1: times you've been on it probably been on half a
- 46:34Speaker 1: dozen times at least. Hope to meet you, man. I hope,
- 46:38Speaker 1: I hope to meet you. Enjoy the rest of your
- 46:39Speaker 1: time in Maine.
- 46:41Speaker 6: It'll it'll happen, And enjoy your day.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Thanks, Bud, appreciate it.
- 46:47Speaker 6: Have a good one.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it is. It is a partly sunny day. That's
- 46:53Speaker 1: it's the way you got to look at it. Well,
- 46:56Speaker 1: it's the way you should at least try to look
- 46:58Speaker 1: at it. This partnership that we have had with Sweethearts
- 47:10Speaker 1: and Heroes has been such a gift to not only
- 47:19Speaker 1: many many listeners and many schools, but to me personally
- 47:27Speaker 1: and has forced me to carry on the rest of
- 47:34Speaker 1: not only my day but the rest of my week
- 47:37Speaker 1: with the mindset of doing the most good and being
- 47:43Speaker 1: a positive influence, no matter if it's your own kid,
- 47:47Speaker 1: or if it's anyone in your community, just doing the
- 47:50Speaker 1: right thing, or at least trying to. We're not perfect,
- 47:53Speaker 1: but man, we should keep trying. Rex Thompson.
- 48:00Speaker 10: Between me and Tom Murphy, absolutely not. I enjoy life
- 48:06Speaker 10: way too.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Much, Tom, And you know, I think Tom's I'd.
- 48:11Speaker 9: Hate to get beat up by such a nice guy too.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Tom's uh. I think he's.
- 48:17Speaker 9: Well.
- 48:17Speaker 1: He might be a little older than you, but not
- 48:20Speaker 1: not by much, but he'd still here.
- 48:21Speaker 10: We're close to the same age. I'm fifty three, all right.
- 48:25Speaker 9: We came up through the wrestling.
- 48:26Speaker 10: I met Tom first through uh wrestling because I was
- 48:30Speaker 10: coaching for small bysa back then, and he used to
- 48:34Speaker 10: do the the mentor speeches and stuff at all the
- 48:37Speaker 10: wrestling tournaments. Super good dude. As a matter of fact,
- 48:40Speaker 10: I was in oh yeah a bunch of times.
- 48:42Speaker 9: Plus he trained.
- 48:43Speaker 10: I trained at United Fighting Arts Institute with Chris Ballard
- 48:47Speaker 10: and Deb Ballard.
- 48:47Speaker 9: He's good friends with them.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Wow.
- 48:51Speaker 10: I actually was in Pulaski, New York, and a little
- 48:55Speaker 10: dive bar I went out there to visit a friend
- 48:57Speaker 10: of mine is where the Salmon River is. And I
- 48:59Speaker 10: sat down at the little table and I looked to
- 49:03Speaker 10: my left and there was a signed UFC picture of
- 49:05Speaker 10: Tom Murphy.
- 49:08Speaker 9: Out in the middle of nowhere else like this is awsome.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Wow, Rex, tell me about Saturday, man. I mean, there's
- 49:16Speaker 1: so much to unpack here. But the Double Tree is
- 49:20Speaker 1: going to be alive.
- 49:22Speaker 9: Yeah, we're trying to.
- 49:23Speaker 10: So this is the most amount of tickets we've ever
- 49:27Speaker 10: sold ahead of time. We've already sold out the VIP tables,
- 49:31Speaker 10: most of the VIP seats. We've sold about five hundred
- 49:35Speaker 10: tickets already ahead of time. We pre sales, we always
- 49:39Speaker 10: sell like our VIP tables and stuff, but as far
- 49:42Speaker 10: as general admission tickets go, you know, one hundred and
- 49:45Speaker 10: seventy five.
- 49:46Speaker 9: Tickets ahead is usually the max that we do.
- 49:48Speaker 10: So to sell five hundred tickets already pre sale, it's
- 49:52Speaker 10: pretty crazy.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Wow.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Well you're smack dab in the heart of Burlington right there, County.
- 50:00Speaker 1: You've got a huge population and you guys are donny
- 50:04Speaker 1: Brook Fight Promotions is growing period bottom line yh and
- 50:09Speaker 1: now you've got uh the Double Tree by Hilton Hosting this,
- 50:13Speaker 1: which is tremendous. Man in big, big kudos to them,
- 50:18Speaker 1: and big congratulations to Donnybrook Fight Promotions for making this
- 50:23Speaker 1: so huge. You've got some partnerships here, You've got some
- 50:27Speaker 1: relationships that are that are kind of new. One of
- 50:29Speaker 1: them is with our military.
- 50:32Speaker 9: Yeah, the Air National Guard.
- 50:34Speaker 10: So the Air National Guard is our new is one
- 50:36Speaker 10: of our new advertisers. I'm pretty sure that all of
- 50:40Speaker 10: the guards are going to do it.
- 50:42Speaker 9: We're still in negotiations with.
- 50:43Speaker 10: Them because they have different protocols on how they want
- 50:46Speaker 10: to pay, like some of them want ninety day nets
- 50:49Speaker 10: stuff like that.
- 50:50Speaker 9: It's just different.
- 50:50Speaker 10: But the Air National Guard was the first one they say, hey,
- 50:53Speaker 10: we'll show up, We'll bring our honor Guard. So this
- 50:57Speaker 10: is the first time we're going to have the honor
- 50:58Speaker 10: Guard that's going to be there inside the rain. This
- 51:00Speaker 10: is the first time that we're doing it inside of
- 51:02Speaker 10: a competition boxing ring. This particular show is all kickboxing
- 51:07Speaker 10: and Muay Thai okay, so it's it's gonna be just
- 51:11Speaker 10: super super exciting. Plus it's inside of a brand new
- 51:13Speaker 10: twelve thousand square footballroom, and if we outgrow that then
- 51:19Speaker 10: across this's just down the road. Is the UVM Stadium,
- 51:22Speaker 10: just like combat Zone did. Combat Zone started inside of
- 51:25Speaker 10: the inside of the hotels with Calvin Cator and his family.
- 51:29Speaker 10: I don't know Calvin Cator's from the UFC, but his
- 51:31Speaker 10: family owns combat Zone, so they did the same thing.
- 51:34Speaker 10: They worked there until they grew out of it. They're
- 51:36Speaker 10: right at SNHU University and that's kind of like the
- 51:40Speaker 10: same thing that we're doing. They moved into Manchester and
- 51:42Speaker 10: we moved into Burlington. And I'm actually good friends with
- 51:46Speaker 10: all of them guys, Jerome and all them. Jerome was
- 51:48Speaker 10: supposed to fight, he got an injury, so but he's
- 51:52Speaker 10: the matchmaker for combat Zone. Plus they have six hour
- 51:55Speaker 10: down there. I'm good friends with Gavin Wageman and all
- 51:57Speaker 10: those guys.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Let's talk about injuries because as a promoter Donnybrook Fight Promotions,
- 52:04Speaker 1: you you you're you're a matchmaker and so much more.
- 52:11Speaker 1: But you've got you've got these fighters who are training
- 52:15Speaker 1: so hard, working so hard, and sometimes you know, as
- 52:21Speaker 1: we get close to the date, things happened, Injuries happen
- 52:25Speaker 1: that were not expected, and you get what phone calls.
- 52:30Speaker 10: Right, So yesterday, what Monday, six point thirty in the morning,
- 52:35Speaker 10: I got a texta vestage from the coach said, hey,
- 52:38Speaker 10: main event fighter went for a run this morning. Because
- 52:41Speaker 10: they're not doing any spiring. Nobody should be getting injured
- 52:43Speaker 10: this week. Nobody should be getting injured.
- 52:46Speaker 9: Matter of fact, last week they should have.
- 52:47Speaker 10: Started their life sparring to no sparring this week. No
- 52:51Speaker 10: spiring is just all cardio running pad work, so there's
- 52:54Speaker 10: no chance of injuries. I get a tax of Monday morning. Hey,
- 52:57Speaker 10: we started this. We booked seventeen fights we started so
- 53:02Speaker 10: and we do that purposely because you always have drops,
- 53:04Speaker 10: you always have injuries, and you want to make sure
- 53:06Speaker 10: that you can fill a card. Especially with the way
- 53:08Speaker 10: the legislation is with the state of Vermont, it's really hard.
- 53:11Speaker 10: You can't just replace people last minute and get them
- 53:14Speaker 10: license and all that.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Wow.
- 53:15Speaker 10: So Monday morning, sits thirty in the morning, says, hey,
- 53:18Speaker 10: my guy went out for a run, stepped on something,
- 53:22Speaker 10: kind of twisted his foot. He can't put weight on it.
- 53:25Speaker 10: I'm hoping it's just a compression. I'll let you know
- 53:28Speaker 10: when he gets back. You know, just these little ice
- 53:30Speaker 10: will be good to go for Saturday. Then I got
- 53:33Speaker 10: a message, Hey, his foot's broke. He broke me outside
- 53:37Speaker 10: fifth Metatarasil on a run, just a freak accident.
- 53:41Speaker 9: Then I had another kid.
- 53:42Speaker 10: He kicked a bag same day, broke his toe just
- 53:46Speaker 10: doing that. So but with that said, the main event
- 53:50Speaker 10: it was not Liam McNeil. Liam McNeil is still fighting.
- 53:53Speaker 10: We switched that fight Liam McNeil. I don't know if
- 53:57Speaker 10: a lot of people know this. He is the Iska
- 53:59Speaker 10: newing In Small Glove champion. He's also the Johnny Brook
- 54:05Speaker 10: one hundred and forty five pound big Glove champion. Now
- 54:09Speaker 10: he's gonna jump up and fight all Lee Abduazak. So
- 54:14Speaker 10: this man is gonna go through three weight classes and
- 54:17Speaker 10: see how he does.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Liam McNeil has, Yeah, he has. He has brought the
- 54:26Speaker 1: crowd uh to its feet at the auditorium.
- 54:31Speaker 10: Oh yeah, he fought a battle him and Matthew Hayes
- 54:34Speaker 10: from Granted City.
- 54:34Speaker 9: MMA, those two I remember, well five rounds. That was
- 54:37Speaker 9: a good fight too. Yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 10: At this point, I think Liam has surpassa because he's
- 54:43Speaker 10: just constantly in the gym. He's called I think he's
- 54:46Speaker 10: eight and her at this point. Wow, yeah, he fights
- 54:50Speaker 10: all the time.
- 54:51Speaker 1: What about folks that have yet to purchase tickets? For
- 54:55Speaker 1: Saturday's event donn Fight Promotions dot Com.
- 55:00Speaker 10: Yes, super simple, Just go just Donnybrook fight Promotions dot Com.
- 55:04Speaker 9: Everything is right there.
- 55:05Speaker 10: If you can't make it to the show or it
- 55:06Speaker 10: gets sold out, you can always watch the pay per view.
- 55:09Speaker 10: Everything is one click on our website. You can watch
- 55:12Speaker 10: the pay per view from our website. All the fighter
- 55:15Speaker 10: forms are on there, the links to your national mmaids,
- 55:19Speaker 10: your Vermont licensing. We put everything in one spot on
- 55:23Speaker 10: our website to make it super simple for people.
- 55:26Speaker 1: All right, how much your tickets and what time to
- 55:31Speaker 1: people arrive?
- 55:32Speaker 9: Doors open up five? Fights start at six? Up there, okay?
- 55:36Speaker 10: General admission tickets are seventy dollars apiece. We have front
- 55:40Speaker 10: row tables. Those are six hundred and forty nine dollars
- 55:43Speaker 10: in that seat six people. Second row is five hundred
- 55:46Speaker 10: and forty nine dollars. Saying thanks, it's six people. Then
- 55:49Speaker 10: we have individual seating at one hundred and twenty five
- 55:51Speaker 10: dollars apiece for VIP seating. I believe all of those
- 55:56Speaker 10: are sold out and we only have general admission left,
- 55:59Speaker 10: and which the general admission, think about it. The general
- 56:02Speaker 10: emission is all padded chairs. We're not talking about old
- 56:05Speaker 10: folding chairs or bleachers. This is all updated, really nice
- 56:10Speaker 10: cushion seats and general admission is coming.
- 56:15Speaker 9: You it's it's not assigned seating.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Is service included on those tables?
- 56:21Speaker 9: No, okay, you do.
- 56:23Speaker 10: You do have to get up and get your We
- 56:26Speaker 10: loved Gusto's for that.
- 56:27Speaker 9: Yeah, but they don't have the staff.
- 56:30Speaker 10: To waitress it, and it's it's like an extra two
- 56:33Speaker 10: thousand dollars just to have a waitress.
- 56:38Speaker 1: But but still food and food and drink will be
- 56:40Speaker 1: absolutely yes. What about special hotel rates? What if people
- 56:44Speaker 1: want to come, they want to have a couple of drinks,
- 56:46Speaker 1: they want to yell and scream and and have fun
- 56:49Speaker 1: and then stay over night.
- 56:51Speaker 10: We are working on that, but right now the hotel's
- 56:54Speaker 10: having a little bit of difficulty because they added on
- 56:58Speaker 10: that big, huge addition and that inventory is not in there,
- 57:01Speaker 10: so everything is it. So I'm gonna get that squared
- 57:04Speaker 10: away today. But right now they're showing everything is sold out.
- 57:07Speaker 10: But there's so many hotels right around there. We're in Burlington,
- 57:10Speaker 10: all right.
- 57:11Speaker 1: If you if you get any updates on that, Rex,
- 57:13Speaker 1: will you get it right on to the aired out page?
- 57:18Speaker 10: Hey, I love what Tom's doing with the sweethearts and
- 57:20Speaker 10: kids and stuff like that. I actually just met with
- 57:24Speaker 10: Washington County Mental Health just rented me a spot to
- 57:27Speaker 10: work with trouble teens with using martial arts.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Right and Barry keep going.
- 57:32Speaker 9: I start next. I start next Wednesday. So it's a wow.
- 57:37Speaker 9: It's a it's a martial arts mentorship.
- 57:40Speaker 10: So we take these kids that are you know, they
- 57:42Speaker 10: they have mentors, they have I don't know what they
- 57:45Speaker 10: call them.
- 57:46Speaker 9: The when Washington County Mental Health, you.
- 57:51Speaker 10: Know, takes care of these kids and and does counseling
- 57:53Speaker 10: with them all day and I can't be what are
- 57:56Speaker 10: they BMS or something.
- 58:00Speaker 9: I don't remember.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Behave behavior management?
- 58:03Speaker 9: Yes, So what I do is I take these kids.
- 58:07Speaker 10: I take these kids in a private lesson and we
- 58:11Speaker 10: go and we train for an hour and a half.
- 58:14Speaker 9: After that hour and a half of training of hard training,
- 58:18Speaker 9: then we talk. I just let them talk.
- 58:21Speaker 10: That's it, you know, especially more with working with boys,
- 58:27Speaker 10: young boys.
- 58:28Speaker 9: The last thing they want to do.
- 58:29Speaker 10: And how do I know because I sat in therapy
- 58:31Speaker 10: as a kid. The last thing I want to do
- 58:33Speaker 10: is sit with a big ball of energy with a
- 58:35Speaker 10: counselor and try to.
- 58:36Speaker 9: Talk about my feelings.
- 58:38Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, when I can talk about my feelings
- 58:39Speaker 10: when I'm drained, tired, and I got all that stuff out.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Being a behavior interventionist is probably one of the toughest
- 58:46Speaker 1: jobs I can I could think of. Gotta be up
- 58:50Speaker 1: there top ten for sure.
- 58:52Speaker 10: So we're doing the same thing this Saturday and next Saturday. Yeah,
- 58:56Speaker 10: this Saturday there's no Dante because of the fights. We'll
- 59:01Speaker 10: have him next Saariday. So that's staying. I'm still taking
- 59:04Speaker 10: care of Dante, but now we're gonna I'm gonna start
- 59:06Speaker 10: adding in.
- 59:09Speaker 9: Teens that just they.
- 59:11Speaker 10: Would never have access to this, and you know, there's
- 59:15Speaker 10: a lot of kids out there that need it. Yeah,
- 59:17Speaker 10: and I you know, I come from a tough background.
- 59:19Speaker 10: I come I come from being poored, so I can
- 59:21Speaker 10: relate to these kids.
- 59:22Speaker 9: A lot of these kids I know their parents and stuff.
- 59:25Speaker 10: So I'm I've been part of this community for hundreds
- 59:28Speaker 10: of years, so it's it's easier for me to relate
- 59:32Speaker 10: a lot of people like maybe coming in don't don't
- 59:34Speaker 10: understand the culture of Burry or the certain families and
- 59:38Speaker 10: stuff like that, and I understand that, so it's easier
- 59:41Speaker 10: for me to mentor and help these kids, help these
- 59:44Speaker 10: guys out. Man, there's not there's there's just nothing to
- 59:47Speaker 10: do around here and except get in trouble. And I
- 59:50Speaker 10: know that because I got myself in a lot of
- 59:51Speaker 10: trouble hanging out around here.
- 59:53Speaker 9: The only thing that saved my leg was joining the
- 59:54Speaker 9: army at seventeen.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Listen, Saturday is going to be amazing.
- 1:00:02Speaker 10: Yeah, you and Cheryl are gonna be there, right of course,
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: he's already hit she already hit me up.
- 1:00:07Speaker 9: Me and herban talking. Really we're online. I'm so glad
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: I remembered we're on live.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Like late like late night talking or.
- 1:00:18Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, that's the only time I talked to Cheryl.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Okay, you go to bed.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Oh okay, that's what we figure things out. Donnybrook Fight
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Promotions on Facebook, The Reckoning, the Art of the Eight
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Limbs were we are just a couple of days away. Man,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: this is so exciting. If you don't have your tickets,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: it's ten fights, all right. If you don't have your tickets,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: get them Donnybrook Fights Promotions dot com. And if you
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: want to do the pay per view, Donnybrook Fight Promotions

- 1:01:04Speaker 1: I'm so excited. And you know, Glenn Brummer is like
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: foaming at the mouth here.
- 1:01:11Speaker 9: Good for Glenn.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: I'm a little happy for him.
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: Yeah, this is like Christmas three times a year for him.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: I know it is. I know. Thanks thanks for coming on.
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: Rex, absolutely, thanks for having mem.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Yeah, love you, buddy. It's just going to be an
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: amazing weekend. And this is just one of several several
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: things that are happening this weekend. U. I want to
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: give a plug here for Optical Expressions. You know is
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: I've told you so many times. These classes that I'm
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: wearing right here, made by will Over at Optical Expressions,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: one of our long time presenting sponsors.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Great great people.
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: They take such good care of you.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: And it's not just Mark Leeper, It's it's it's Tim,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: it's everyone over there.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: They treat you like gold.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: It is.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Never too late to say, hey, I might want to
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: get an eye exam. I might want to just get
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: things checked out. Preventative maintenance is what I call it.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: It's big, it's important. Get over there, fourth floor of
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: the Blancher Block in their new location. You hop in
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the elevator, you hit four, bang, you're right there. Get
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: an appointment for an eye exam. It's quick, it's painless,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: it's thorough, and you don't know. Those glasses that you're
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: wearing now might be we get older, time goes by,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: they may not be working as well for you, as
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: or as well as you think. They are optical expressions
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: right here in the heart of the Granite City. There's
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: so much going on this weekend. I'm just I'm looking
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: at the calendar here. I am going to be posting
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: up some stuff here in just a little bit to
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: give you more of a heads up so that you
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: can start making your plans. House the lawn is it growing?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: You ready for some mowing? If you want to leave
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: it up to the pros, leave it up to Gothier's
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Quality Grounds and Maintenance.
