Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sororiti Life with
• 0:04
Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judice.
• 0:06
Speaker 2: Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.
• 0:12
Speaker 3: We're back to continue the conversation about work week. So
• 0:16
Speaker 3: here's why Dirty Rush works is because we allow.
• 0:21
Speaker 2: People to be anonymous when they need to be, so.
• 0:24
Speaker 3: That they feel safe, secure, confident in telling you what
• 0:27
Speaker 3: it really is, like work week Rush pledging initiation.
• 0:33
Speaker 2: So we allow people to have real names, fake names.
• 0:36
Speaker 3: We're okay with it because we want you to know
• 0:38
Speaker 3: that what we're telling you is the truth. So what
• 0:41
Speaker 3: we did as we're doing this series on work Week
• 0:44
Speaker 3: this weekend, we sent two people, producer Evy and your
• 0:49
Speaker 3: name Bella and Bella might be a fake name.
• 0:53
Speaker 2: We sent Bella to Bama Rush.
• 0:56
Speaker 3: So look, anybody who knows anything about Rush knows that suddenly,
• 1:01
Speaker 3: a couple of years ago, out of nowhere, Bama Rush exploded.
• 1:04
Speaker 2: It became the rush to watch.
• 1:06
Speaker 3: It became the tiktoks to watch, It became the girls
• 1:09
Speaker 3: to analyze, it became everything.
• 1:12
Speaker 2: So we are boots on the ground this.
• 1:13
Speaker 3: Season on Dirty Rush, and we are sending our team
• 1:16
Speaker 3: all over the country to cover Rush, to cover work
• 1:19
Speaker 3: week Rush and so on. So we are in a
• 1:23
Speaker 3: secret retreat, as you guys know if you listen to
• 1:26
Speaker 3: the previous episode, we are in a secret location on
• 1:30
Speaker 3: a sorority retreat. Essentially, we have sorority girls from all
• 1:33
Speaker 3: over the country here and we are bringing you these
• 1:39
Speaker 3: dirty Rush episodes. So basically, we sent producer Evy and
• 1:42
Speaker 3: Bella to Alabama. So first of all, what I want
• 1:44
Speaker 3: to ask you guys, is immediately when you got there
• 1:47
Speaker 3: and you started to sort of explore the town, So
• 1:50
Speaker 3: is the university in Alabama?
• 1:54
  Speaker 2: What city?
• 1:57
Speaker 1: It's in Tuscaloosa, which is like an hour outside of Birmingham,
• 2:02
Speaker 1: which is the airport, right.
• 2:03
Speaker 2: Okay, so this is the University of Alabama. And look,
• 2:05
Speaker 2: I get it. If you're in Alabama, you're rolling your
• 2:07
Speaker 2: eyes at what idiots we are. But there's people that
• 2:09
Speaker 2: may not know that.
• 2:10
Speaker 3: So you flew into Birmingham and then how far from
• 2:13
Speaker 3: the airport is it to get to Tuscalooso where the
• 2:15
Speaker 3: University of Alabama is an hour?
• 2:18
  Speaker 2: An hour?
• 2:18
Speaker 3: And did you immediately when you get there feel the
• 2:21
Speaker 3: sort of sorority energy?
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: Oh?
• 2:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, tell me about it.
• 2:25
Speaker 4: It's like right when I stepped foot on the campus,
• 2:29
Speaker 4: I was like, all right, I get this whole Alabama thing.
• 2:34
Speaker 2: Because I need more, Like what do you mean?
• 2:36
Speaker 1: I think even when we like landed in the airport
• 2:38
Speaker 1: and we're like waiting for our bags, we saw girls
• 2:40
Speaker 1: who immediately like fit the bill, like you could tell
• 2:43
Speaker 1: they were on their way to do work week that
• 2:45
Speaker 1: they went to the University of Alabama. Like they were
• 2:48
Speaker 1: wearing like Park malk necks and like athletist.
• 2:52
Speaker 2: So they said, I can't write that down.
• 2:53
Speaker 3: So they were wearing Park which I obviously understand. Park
• 2:56
Speaker 3: Baknax is like the thing. Yeah, and did it feel
• 3:00
Speaker 3: pink or is that like a legally blonde.
• 3:02
Speaker 1: Like it's an im super pink but definitely like preppy,
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: colorful monogram.
• 3:08
Speaker 4: And the things that they knew about, like what girls
• 3:10
Speaker 4: wear to class, they were wearing, like.
• 3:12
Speaker 2: Give me details. They're wearing Hooka sneakers.
• 3:15
Speaker 4: They're wearing like either like an alo tennis dress or
• 3:19
Speaker 4: kind of like a set like a like a tennis
• 3:22
Speaker 4: skirt top set. Like everything's very put together, and they
• 3:30
Speaker 4: have like monograms on their little ll bean toes or whatever,
• 3:33
Speaker 4: like they have been planning to pack for So we're.
• 3:37
Speaker 3: Not actually talking Gucci Dior Chanelle. No, it's leveled down,
• 3:43
Speaker 3: but it is brand names. Yeah, and it is coordinated
• 3:47
Speaker 3: and it is preppy.
• 3:48
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 3:49
Speaker 4: I think what I came to understand is that like
• 3:52
Speaker 4: the big like the Gucci and the designer and all
• 3:55
Speaker 4: that stuff that you see on TikTok, Like, isn't it
• 3:58
Speaker 4: Like I'm sure that's there, as it is at any
• 4:01
Speaker 4: score any sorority, but it's not the focus. They've just
• 4:04
Speaker 4: people online have made it the focus.
• 4:06
Speaker 2: Okay, interesting, Okay, is it blonde or what was it?
• 4:11
Speaker 2: Did you see extensions? Differently? It is blonde.
• 4:14
Speaker 4: Every everyone's blonde tan long blonde, long blonde, like a
• 4:18
Speaker 4: platinum blonde, right, blonde, bright blonde, bright tan.
• 4:22
Speaker 2: We went into a tanning slawn everyone there.
• 4:24
Speaker 3: Okay, I want to hear all about this. So first
• 4:27
Speaker 3: I know you guys, did you take an uber? This
• 4:29
Speaker 3: is where you've met?
• 4:30
Speaker 2: Your first interview was later We were support was great, normal,
• 4:36
Speaker 2: but just nothing on the rush scene.
• 4:38
  Speaker 6: Okay.
• 4:38
Speaker 4: We actually we were kind of that first night when
• 4:41
Speaker 4: we landed, we were kind of striking out. We took
• 4:45
Speaker 4: a walk around campus. Okay, girls are getting ready for
• 4:48
  Speaker 4: work week.
• 4:49
Speaker 1: We saw a group of girls talking to each other
• 4:53
Speaker 1: like on Greek row like, and they were in different
• 4:56
Speaker 1: houses we learned from listening in and they were like,
• 4:58
Speaker 1: they were like, what are you doing tomorrow? Like one
• 5:01
Speaker 1: of them and the other two were like secret.
• 5:03
Speaker 2: Oh, like they're getting a secret with each each other.
• 5:06
Speaker 3: And they were you stand out as like clearly you
• 5:08
Speaker 3: don't got you don't go there, or could you blend?
• 5:11
Speaker 3: Like maybe we can get in because we are young
• 5:14
Speaker 3: and we look like sorty girls.
• 5:15
Speaker 4: Well, Bella texted me when we were packing for this
• 5:18
Speaker 4: trip and she goes, you know what are you bringing?
• 5:20
Speaker 2: I'm like, prep you to the nine.
• 5:22
Speaker 4: Okay, I'm bringing my you know, everything from And let
• 5:25
Speaker 4: me say she nailed it. O my prints, you know,
• 5:29
Speaker 4: your golden goose, sneakers or whatever you got.
• 5:31
Speaker 2: We're gonna we're gonna look like we blind in.
• 5:33
Speaker 4: And when we're walking around campus that first night, I'm
• 5:36
Speaker 4: trying to scope out the scene and see like who
• 5:38
Speaker 4: could talk to us and whatever, and they are already
• 5:40
Speaker 4: looking at you a little like a right.
• 5:43
Speaker 2: For the person listening for you listening.
• 5:46
  Speaker 6: Uh.
• 5:47
Speaker 3: Our two reporters are in their twenties, so they do
• 5:50
Speaker 3: they could pass easily for college students sorty girls obviously,
• 5:54
Speaker 3: we're doing that intentionally because we're infiltrating rush and trying
• 5:57
Speaker 3: to bring you like top secret information. All right, So
• 6:01
Speaker 3: you when you get to the hotel, is it a sorority?
• 6:04
Speaker 2: You know our sorority moms there? Did you feel that vibe?
• 6:08
Speaker 4: So we could tell that people were already, like even
• 6:11
Speaker 4: before classes or anything, had already begun.
• 6:13
Speaker 2: Like work, we could not quite begun.
• 6:15
Speaker 4: It was happening like the next day or the next day,
• 6:17
Speaker 4: but pete girls were moving into the hotel.
• 6:20
Speaker 2: Rushies there yet. Okay, so this is just sorority, just
• 6:24
Speaker 2: sorority girls girls women. It was like people doing rush
• 6:27
Speaker 2: who were like rushing. The p and ms were arriving,
• 6:30
Speaker 2: so it was like sophomore girls, the sophomore junior seniors.
• 6:34
Speaker 1: But what always interesting was in our hotel there was
• 6:36
Speaker 1: all these girls that we kept seeing like moving big
• 6:39
Speaker 1: ball because like unloading signs and we were like, oh,
• 6:41
Speaker 1: like what are you guys doing like whatever? They were
• 6:44
Speaker 1: on the panelonic board and they were running rush out.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: We were staying up. We split you at the right hotel.
• 6:50
Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, this was definitely like the University of Alabama
• 6:54
Speaker 4: hotel where people say or whatever. But you could tell
• 6:57
Speaker 4: that moms were moving them into and everyone just has
• 7:00
Speaker 4: a little bit of this air of skepticism or secrecy
• 7:03
Speaker 4: or on their guard because I think they know that
• 7:06
Speaker 4: there's just so much attention around their school. And even
• 7:09
Speaker 4: we were walking around when the first night we got there,
• 7:14
Speaker 4: and I just like saw a girl walking towards us
• 7:17
Speaker 4: and asked her like, hey, you know, we're just we're reporters.
• 7:22
Speaker 4: I was just like, oh, we're you know, we're Felow
• 7:24
Speaker 4: Crority girls, but we work for this podcast and we
• 7:27
Speaker 4: like would love to ask you a few questions. And
• 7:30
Speaker 4: she was like, uh, I don't think I can say
• 7:33
Speaker 4: anything to you. And we're like, oh, okay, are you
• 7:36
Speaker 4: enjoying work week? And she's like, it's really chill, Like
• 7:39
Speaker 4: it's chill. It's much more chill than the people say
• 7:41
  Speaker 4: that it is.
• 7:42
Speaker 2: And what did all right? But it felt like that
• 7:44
Speaker 2: was they're clearing the you.
• 7:46
Speaker 3: Know, yeah, I think I guess my question is are
• 7:50
Speaker 3: you seeing people making these tiktoks trying to be quote
• 7:54
  Speaker 3: TikTok famous.
• 7:55
Speaker 2: Or does it feel like authentic rush.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: I would say like the last day we were there,
• 8:01
Speaker 1: like we kind of started seeing more of like the
• 8:03
Speaker 1: actual work week, Like the girls like in their outfits,
• 8:05
Speaker 1: they're like making tiktoks, like doing all that stuff.
• 8:09
Speaker 2: But like before that, I don't know.
• 8:11
Speaker 4: Well, we did hear from a P and M that
• 8:14
Speaker 4: I asked her. I was like, have you been advised
• 8:16
Speaker 4: at all on girls who are trying to get TikTok
• 8:19
Speaker 4: famous or whatever going into rush? Like, gir no longer
• 8:23
Speaker 4: did sororities want those girls? Like it brings on too much?
• 8:27
Speaker 3: Okay, So that's interesting, right, I think that that had
• 8:30
Speaker 3: its moment and it does seem to be changing, and
• 8:33
Speaker 3: maybe a new school will become.
• 8:35
  Speaker 2: That, right.
• 8:36
Speaker 4: They actually said they're like, I think Oklahoma's your school.
• 8:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I've heard that that Oklahoma is the
• 8:42
  Speaker 3: new Bama Rush.
• 8:43
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 8:43
Speaker 3: And also like to compare it to a show like
• 8:46
Speaker 3: The Bachelor. Right in the early seasons, you got more
• 8:51
Speaker 3: authentic people because there was no Bachelor famous, right, and
• 8:55
Speaker 3: then you get these sort of trying too hards because
• 8:58
Speaker 3: they're not there for the reasons which it sounds like
• 9:02
Speaker 3: these you know, potential rush rushies and the actives are
• 9:08
Speaker 3: trying to just have.
• 9:09
  Speaker 2: A cool sorority.
• 9:10
Speaker 3: All right, So you hop in this uber and tell
• 9:13
Speaker 3: me a little bit about this Uber driver that you.
• 9:14
Speaker 2: Guys spoke to. Mama was his story? Was she in
• 9:19
  Speaker 2: a sorority?
• 9:19
  Speaker 6: Like?
• 9:19
Speaker 2: What was her story?
• 9:21
Speaker 4: I mean, we like hit the jackpot with our first Uber.
• 9:25
Speaker 4: We're feeling a little depleted from the night before, like
• 9:28
  Speaker 4: getting so rejected.
• 9:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, reporter is a tough beat. I know it's there.
• 9:34
Speaker 2: Even the Uber driver.
• 9:35
Speaker 4: From the night before, Like she wasn't giving us much
• 9:37
Speaker 4: like shit, okay, all right, And we get in the
• 9:40
Speaker 4: car and we're like and we tell her what we're doing.
• 9:44
Speaker 4: You know, we're here, but we're trying to be soft with.
• 9:45
Speaker 2: People, so maybe they tell us. She starts off and
• 9:48
Speaker 2: she's she's got a Tumblr that says Mama Cy and.
• 9:52
Speaker 1: Her license plate says mama And we're like, so, what's
• 9:55
Speaker 1: the deal, Like, what's Mama Cy? And she's like, I
• 9:58
Speaker 1: am the number one Uber driver in the world. And
• 10:03
Speaker 1: at first I'm like, is this self proclaimed?
• 10:06
  Speaker 2: That's good?
• 10:06
  Speaker 5: Yeah?
• 10:06
Speaker 2: No, she pulls it up.
• 10:07
Speaker 1: Uber has also awarded her as the number one Uber
• 10:11
Speaker 1: driver with over sixty thousand rides.
• 10:13
Speaker 2: Irrelevant, irrelevant, but like, good for you, Momacy, you rock.
• 10:17
Speaker 2: Then why did she tell you about sorority?
• 10:19
  Speaker 6: She said?
• 10:20
Speaker 2: Born and raised in Tuscaloosa. It's beautiful, beautiful. She was
• 10:25
Speaker 2: in a sorority. She was a fine you know, well,
• 10:27
Speaker 2: we go, how what are you doing in Tescalusa? How
• 10:30
Speaker 2: are you getting all these rides whatever?
• 10:31
Speaker 4: And she's like, I do all the sorority transportation in Ubers.
• 10:34
Speaker 2: I'm a main uber driver. Did she go to Alabama?
• 10:38
Speaker 4: Yes, she goes, I went to University of Alabama and
• 10:40
  Speaker 4: I was I'm from here.
• 10:41
Speaker 2: He was top house there. This is what we learned.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: And she goes, I was a fine meal. We go,
• 10:46
Speaker 2: is that the top house?
• 10:47
Speaker 4: And she goes, well, it's the only white house on canvas?
• 10:51
Speaker 1: So all no, sound, son't wait, let us explain. Let
• 10:54
Speaker 1: us explain suddenly, let us it is like physy painted
• 11:00
Speaker 1: white outside of the physical five ye sorority house, while
• 11:04
Speaker 1: all the other ones are brick brown.
• 11:06
Speaker 2: So it stands out a law on campus already looks prestigious.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: Before you know, that is beautiful there, I mean there
• 11:13
Speaker 2: must be effect. We'll get that. We'll get to that,
• 11:16
Speaker 2: all right. Your conversation with Mammasy roll it.
• 11:18
Speaker 4: Would you say you were telling us, but the reason
• 11:22
Speaker 4: why a lot of you know, girls are just hesitant
• 11:24
Speaker 4: to talk about and talk to us right now.
• 11:26
Speaker 2: It's because of everything that happened with Yeah.
• 11:29
Speaker 5: I feel like it just because it gets such a
• 11:31
Speaker 5: name on TikTok that everybody's just hasn't it because they
• 11:33
  Speaker 5: are told, you.
• 11:34
Speaker 8: Know, not to say anything, not to do this, you know,
• 11:36
Speaker 8: just basically do your you know, get ready with me
• 11:38
Speaker 8: and call it a day and don't really say anything else.
• 11:41
Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just held to like higher standards just to
• 11:44
Speaker 5: make it more fair for everyone.
• 11:47
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 11:47
Speaker 2: And do you think maybe that.
• 11:50
Speaker 4: They're probably also worried that something gets picked up or something,
• 11:54
Speaker 4: you know, they just don't want anything.
• 11:55
Speaker 5: Well, they don't want to focus on them because if
• 11:57
Speaker 5: the focus is on them, then it's a risk for
• 11:59
  Speaker 5: the chack to.
• 12:00
Speaker 4: Take them mm, got it.
• 12:03
Speaker 8: So and you don't want social media at risk. There's
• 12:05
  Speaker 8: too much.
• 12:05
  Speaker 6: Involved in that.
• 12:06
  Speaker 2: So absolutely.
• 12:07
Speaker 4: And and is it the case where they would go
• 12:10
Speaker 4: right to standards if if some if someone did say something.
• 12:14
Speaker 5: Or oh, I would say definitely, well they would take
• 12:17
Speaker 5: they would go straight to jayboard first, and then straight
• 12:20
Speaker 5: it would get straight to panelantics.
• 12:21
Speaker 8: Well, OK, and they take that very serious.
• 12:24
Speaker 5: Our girls are very good, they're jayboard girls, and our
• 12:26
Speaker 5: fo guys are very serious. About it, and they pick
• 12:29
Speaker 5: up on everything, got it, So they are very they're
• 12:33
Speaker 5: on top of it. They're some of the most restigious
• 12:35
Speaker 5: girls on campus, so they are really really on.
• 12:36
Speaker 8: Top of it, right.
• 12:37
Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, even the girls that we talked to
• 12:39
Speaker 4: seemed like when I went up to someone to the
• 12:41
Speaker 4: sheep right outside the hotel, she was on Panelinic and
• 12:44
Speaker 4: they seemed really buttoned up and.
• 12:46
Speaker 8: Ready to go. And that's the thing is like, the
• 12:49
Speaker 8: quatter you are, the better chance that everyone has.
• 12:51
Speaker 5: And that's what I always say, Like, you don't want
• 12:53
Speaker 5: to put a girl in that standard. You don't want
• 12:54
Speaker 5: to put her in that position, especially because if you're
• 12:56
Speaker 5: from like just a California and you're coming to Alabama,
• 12:59
Speaker 5: you're already are like, she'll shocked, so you don't know
• 13:02
Speaker 5: what to expect, and then you get here and then
• 13:05
Speaker 5: you're just that seven days is just miserable.
• 13:07
Speaker 8: Every day one hundred degree heat, ninety five percent humidity.
• 13:10
  Speaker 8: You're hot, you're sweaty, you're miserable, and then you're going
• 13:12
Speaker 8: in there and then you're just it's just a lot
• 13:15
Speaker 8: of information to take in.
• 13:16
Speaker 5: Yeah, So I would say, yeah, I mean, I feel
• 13:19
Speaker 5: like it's fair to everyone, but I do feel like
• 13:20
  Speaker 5: it is.
• 13:21
Speaker 8: It's very cut through all right.
• 13:24
Speaker 2: Well, thank you so much.
• 13:25
Speaker 4: So Mama Sy, right, that's how everyone knows you number
• 13:30
Speaker 4: one uber in the world.
• 13:31
Speaker 2: Thank you so much. You gotta love Mama Sy. First
• 13:34
Speaker 2: of all, she's got the voice, she really does. We
• 13:37
Speaker 2: didn't make any of this up. You can't fake you
• 13:40
Speaker 2: hit the jackpot with that. We just kept letting her talk. Great,
• 13:44
Speaker 2: I love it all right. So where was Mamsey taking you?
• 14:02
  Speaker 7: So?
• 14:02
Speaker 4: We had been recommended this boutique, Papoori, okay, and we
• 14:08
Speaker 4: saw it online too.
• 14:09
Speaker 2: We like, they got this TikTok that went viral.
• 14:11
Speaker 4: All their stuff looked so cute, very Bama rush like,
• 14:14
Speaker 4: we got to get there.
• 14:16
Speaker 2: So we walk in and then we're a little confused
• 14:19
Speaker 2: because we're like, this is a furniture store. Oh that's interesting.
• 14:23
Speaker 2: But then it's so good.
• 14:25
Speaker 4: The other woman pipes in, she's like, are you looking
• 14:27
Speaker 4: for Papoori And we're like yeah, and she's like over here, y'all,
• 14:31
Speaker 4: And then we walk over into it's like the back
• 14:33
  Speaker 4: of this furniture.
• 14:34
Speaker 9: It's like pretty friendly and nice, so nice, so nice,
• 14:37
Speaker 9: and the people who are like don't want to be
• 14:39
Speaker 9: associated with you like not speaking or like the sweetest
• 14:43
Speaker 9: like like somehow to deliver it in.
• 14:45
Speaker 2: The sweetest way. You can't even be master if this
• 14:48
Speaker 2: is your first reporting assignment you've ever been given in
• 14:50
Speaker 2: your lives or have you previously reported on things let's say, yeah,
• 14:54
Speaker 2: they're like, yeah, producer Evy, you reported on things before. Yeah,
• 14:58
Speaker 2: I've I've reported on before so and in college too.
• 15:02
Speaker 3: So you do you talk to the woman at this boutique, lindsay.
• 15:07
Speaker 1: So, then we get to the back of the furniture store.
• 15:08
Speaker 1: We meet Lindsay and another sales associate who's very nice,
• 15:12
Speaker 1: who goes to the university.
• 15:13
Speaker 2: How do they get action in the back of the
• 15:14
  Speaker 2: furniture store.
• 15:16
Speaker 4: Her sister in law owns the furniture store.
• 15:19
Speaker 2: And then Lindsay she sends people to the back. Yeah,
• 15:22
  Speaker 2: she says, I.
• 15:23
Speaker 4: Mean it's a very nice, upscale furniture store that has
• 15:25
Speaker 4: like multiple rooms and then there's the back for all
• 15:29
  Speaker 4: the dresses.
• 15:29
Speaker 2: And so you walk into this back boutique and is
• 15:32
Speaker 2: it like sorolreaty closed, like.
• 15:34
Speaker 1: Love to the brim, like perfectly curated for every round
• 15:38
Speaker 1: of rush for anything Alabama, Like you're like perfect, perfect
• 15:41
Speaker 1: like Prame Day, Prince Bright fun and.
• 15:44
Speaker 2: Are we talking expensive expensive or no?
• 15:47
Speaker 4: So what I've found about because when I hear boutique,
• 15:51
Speaker 4: I think pricey, But what I found about Southern boutiques
• 15:55
Speaker 4: is actually they kind of like like and I'm not
• 15:59
Speaker 4: flaming in a web, like they dupe. I've noticed that
• 16:02
Speaker 4: they duped something that would be like on Revolve or
• 16:04
Speaker 4: maybe like that's like Mesa or farm Rio or whatever,
• 16:08
Speaker 4: like a brand that might be more a little high end,
• 16:11
Speaker 4: a little high end, and they kind of dupe it
• 16:14
Speaker 4: and maybe it feels a little different whatever, but it's
• 16:16
  Speaker 4: the same look.
• 16:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, and so it's kind of fan yeah, good, good good,
• 16:21
Speaker 2: you know, whole thing and like.
• 16:23
Speaker 3: Three people probably doesn't need to do. But I think
• 16:25
Speaker 3: they would have anthropology dresses.
• 16:27
Speaker 4: Right, that kind of thing, where like it's similar styles
• 16:30
Speaker 4: or shapes that are recognized with.
• 16:32
Speaker 2: A price point more like a fifty dollars.
• 16:33
Speaker 4: It was like probably like the dress like under one hundred,
• 16:37
Speaker 4: under one hundred, like cute like night like I don't know, yeah, all.
• 16:42
Speaker 2: Right, so what so and lindsay talk to you guys,
• 16:44
Speaker 2: oh yeah, and we're like do you own the store?
• 16:46
Speaker 4: She's got this cute sales associate TK who talk.
• 16:49
Speaker 2: To all the sorority girls in there.
• 16:51
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Well what she did tell us is she
• 16:54
Speaker 4: was like, what we found about the University of Alabama,
• 16:56
Speaker 4: there's Old Row and Newro kind of with the arority.
• 17:00
Speaker 1: Mamma See said, she talked a little bit about Okay, yeah,
• 17:02
Speaker 1: Old Row, New Row.
• 17:04
Speaker 4: And and it just basically means Old Row is for
• 17:08
Speaker 4: some people might have more prestigialized because it's just like
• 17:11
Speaker 4: it's like the Ivy leaks, Like it's more they've been
• 17:13
Speaker 4: around the longest at Alabama.
• 17:16
Speaker 2: And then there's New Row. But they're still like really
• 17:19
Speaker 2: popular sororities in New Row. But I think those are.
• 17:23
Speaker 3: Is about the houses on those streets, not like the
• 17:26
  Speaker 3: restaurants or stores.
• 17:27
Speaker 2: Oh sorry, Rich sorority for the White House. The final
• 17:34
  Speaker 2: So let's.
• 17:35
Speaker 3: Listen to a little bit of what Lindsay told you, guys,
• 17:37
Speaker 3: so give me again. Like what she was explaining, like
• 17:40
Speaker 3: about the sorority girls coming into the bea.
• 17:42
Speaker 1: She's like more Old Row sorority girls typically like the
• 17:45
Speaker 1: styles in our boutique as they lean a little more
• 17:49
  Speaker 1: conservative preppy.
• 17:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, the Old Row.
• 17:53
Speaker 3: And New Row dressed differently. A little bit different vibes.
• 17:57
Speaker 3: I guess my question is are there top houses on
• 17:59
Speaker 3: both Old Row and New Rock?
• 18:01
  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 18:01
Speaker 4: So that like Zeta House that got that went TikTok
• 18:04
Speaker 4: viral and whatever. They're a New Row interesting, but it's
• 18:08
Speaker 4: more of the girls like from out of state, like
• 18:10
Speaker 4: I think like Old Rows, Like like even Mama Ce
• 18:13
Speaker 4: was like where She's like, I'm from Tuscaluso.
• 18:17
Speaker 2: What do you think I was in Old Row? Got it?
• 18:20
Speaker 2: What's rolrity? I'm you got it? Okay, all right, got it?
• 18:23
  Speaker 5: All right?
• 18:24
Speaker 2: So let's let's take a listen to Lindsay.
• 18:25
Speaker 4: Okay, So I'm here with Lindsay from Papoori Boutique.
• 18:30
Speaker 2: Hi, Lindsay, come on talk Okay, So tell us about
• 18:35
  Speaker 2: your store.
• 18:37
  Speaker 5: Okay.
• 18:37
Speaker 10: So we're a little clothing boutique in tesclose to Alabama.
• 18:41
Speaker 10: We're located in sad lampot Is Living, which is like
• 18:44
Speaker 10: a high end decorating store, and we're hidden in the
• 18:46
Speaker 10: back like towards the right hand corner, and we just
• 18:49
Speaker 10: sell a bunch of cute little like rush dresses and
• 18:52
Speaker 10: game day dresses for Alabama to the girls on campus
• 18:57
Speaker 10: and locals here in town and Tuesclosa.
• 19:00
Speaker 4: Have you gotten to know the girl, like the girls
• 19:02
Speaker 4: who live here in town really well to know what
• 19:04
  Speaker 4: they would like.
• 19:05
Speaker 10: Yes, So we definitely have a lot of local shop
• 19:08
Speaker 10: with us and then a local a lot of local
• 19:10
Speaker 10: girls that are in school at Alabama. For those that
• 19:15
Speaker 10: are like going through rush, we have a bunch of
• 19:18
Speaker 10: cute little rush outfits. Normally here in Alabama, they do
• 19:22
Speaker 10: like mini dresses and not a lot of midi or
• 19:24
Speaker 10: maxi just because it's so hot in the summer, so
• 19:27
Speaker 10: we try to stock up for a lot for them. Yeah,
• 19:31
Speaker 10: and just for the various different days that they go through.
• 19:36
Speaker 10: So yeah, that's I would definitely keep.
• 19:38
  Speaker 2: That in mind.
• 19:39
Speaker 4: Yeah, when it market when you when you find you
• 19:42
Speaker 4: like find that some sororities shop here more than others,
• 19:45
Speaker 4: or you've gotten to know certain sororities more than others.
• 19:48
  Speaker 8: For sure.
• 19:48
Speaker 10: We definitely have certain girls and sororities that like us
• 19:54
Speaker 10: that could time we're I guess yeah, they're drawn to
• 19:57
Speaker 10: us more. It's definitely more the old row.
• 20:00
Speaker 4: Oh, everyone come in to be for your all your
• 20:03
Speaker 4: rush needs love it all.
• 20:06
Speaker 3: Right, So I guess, uh, are you really now that
• 20:10
Speaker 3: you're sort of immersed in Bama Rush. Seeing girls everywhere
• 20:14
  Speaker 3: really experiencing Bama.
• 20:18
Speaker 4: Bama is like, these girls do not stop hop girl walking.
• 20:23
Speaker 2: I think they probably hot girl walking. They are tell
• 20:26
Speaker 2: me what that girl walking? They are in their hookahs,
• 20:29
Speaker 2: in their pink workout sets from three people Lululemon.
• 20:35
Speaker 4: Ala with their balla bangles which are like handweights or.
• 20:39
Speaker 2: Wait and best pause every So this is the girl
• 20:43
  Speaker 2: the sorty girls.
• 20:44
Speaker 3: This is their sort of daytime outfit as they're walking, exercising.
• 20:49
Speaker 2: Yep, talking talking those bank when you said the Bengals,
• 20:53
  Speaker 2: what was lalla.
• 20:53
Speaker 4: Beangals, They're like they're this brand of like cute looking
• 20:58
  Speaker 4: hand weights.
• 20:59
Speaker 2: Or like, what is that the way you get my
• 21:00
Speaker 2: upper arms? Yeah? Like like or you can put them
• 21:02
Speaker 2: on your ankles. I'll try it, all right, So these
• 21:04
Speaker 2: guys you'd like them, I might have them. I think
• 21:08
Speaker 2: I might. So if I put those on my wrists
• 21:12
Speaker 2: while I walk, is my upper arm gonna get more?
• 21:14
Speaker 2: You might have to like go like this, But I
• 21:15
Speaker 2: feel like you kind of already.
• 21:16
Speaker 1: Do you see the little stuff while you're walking? Okay,
• 21:18
  Speaker 1: there's a little ten minutes.
• 21:19
Speaker 3: So you're seeing these girls out walking looking hot.
• 21:24
Speaker 2: I was just like Bailey.
• 21:26
Speaker 4: I can't even like they just keep coming because I
• 21:29
Speaker 4: was trying to get like a video in front of
• 21:30
Speaker 4: the houses and I was like, just wait till they go,
• 21:32
Speaker 4: and then they just kept coming and they're all looking
• 21:35
  Speaker 4: at me.
• 21:35
Speaker 2: So it feels like there's hundreds of girls. Yeah, and
• 21:38
Speaker 2: all they do is walks Barbie land. That's okay, this
• 21:41
Speaker 2: is interesting. So they kind of have a bar Barbie
• 21:43
  Speaker 2: vibe during work.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: Week, like only the girls have really started moving in,
• 21:47
Speaker 1: like some people obviously were there.
• 21:48
Speaker 2: But did you see a girl that has brown hair? Yeah?
• 21:52
Speaker 2: For sure, Okay, yeah, okay.
• 21:54
Speaker 1: Multiple it's not like, oh my gosh, like it's only
• 21:57
Speaker 1: definitely very all the blondes you're seeing.
• 22:00
Speaker 2: It's not like a California one.
• 22:02
Speaker 4: Oh it's white, white with extensions twenty foot or twenty
• 22:08
Speaker 4: inch whatever, and it's like a straight, straight look more
• 22:13
Speaker 4: like a little bit of like a wavy curl.
• 22:15
Speaker 3: This is probably an inappropriate question, but look, we're keeping
• 22:17
Speaker 3: it real. Similar body types or are you seeing different bodies?
• 22:22
Speaker 2: Is there any diversity? There is something. I think there's
• 22:25
Speaker 2: more like diversity. It's in the South, so it's not
• 22:28
  Speaker 2: just one body.
• 22:29
Speaker 1: The girls are like pretty fit, but I wouldn't say
• 22:31
Speaker 1: it was like, oh like any nation like okay, it
• 22:34
Speaker 1: was pretty like normal.
• 22:35
Speaker 4: And they got some great barbecue down there, like okay,
• 22:39
  Speaker 4: off the queue.
• 22:40
Speaker 3: So so speaking of looking beautiful, so you guys decide
• 22:44
Speaker 3: we're going to hit a tanning salon.
• 22:46
Speaker 2: It's right next door of the boutique, crucial part of
• 22:48
Speaker 2: any college canvas, especially Bama for sure.
• 22:53
Speaker 1: Like common girls are you know, we're like, oh formal,
• 22:56
Speaker 1: like go to this bratan it spray tan not back.
• 22:58
  Speaker 5: You know.
• 22:59
  Speaker 2: It's interesting.
• 23:02
Speaker 3: Until this very moment I was thinking tanning bed. I
• 23:05
Speaker 3: literally didn't realize we're talking spray tans for something. When
• 23:08
Speaker 3: you guys said tanning salon, the fifty year old in
• 23:11
Speaker 3: me thought, these people are laying in tanning beds. They
• 23:13
Speaker 3: got it, they're spray tanning. Yeah, so well that's why
• 23:17
Speaker 3: I've never I've never been tanning.
• 23:19
Speaker 2: Bed in my life. I'm yeah, okay, I don't do you.
• 23:21
Speaker 3: All spray tan at your schools and the sorty girls
• 23:24
Speaker 3: that are not on the air right now, raise your
• 23:27
Speaker 3: hands if you get spray tans.
• 23:32
  Speaker 2: Our one fraternity.
• 23:33
Speaker 3: Boy okay, so in college day I got tan and
• 23:37
Speaker 3: our fraternity boy, Michael if you listened to our episode
• 23:40
Speaker 3: earlier also Spray Tank.
• 23:42
  Speaker 6: They don't.
• 23:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all right, so do you comes.
• 23:47
Speaker 3: You go into the Tanning Salon and did they talk
• 23:49
  Speaker 3: to you?
• 23:50
  Speaker 2: They will.
• 23:51
Speaker 4: We kind of like pitched it as like oh we
• 23:53
Speaker 4: and we'll promote your salan too well here and they
• 23:55
Speaker 4: were just trying to get off the ground, like there's
• 23:57
  Speaker 4: members better play.
• 24:01
Speaker 1: Shoot glow salon g l O and they had an
• 24:04
Speaker 1: amazing and it said glow tide everything great in Alabama
• 24:10
Speaker 1: every not sorry, let me rephrase in Tuscaloosa, such a
• 24:14
Speaker 1: college town. Everywhere you go, sometile weaves in glow tide
• 24:19
Speaker 1: like Alabama, something like an elephant whatever.
• 24:22
Speaker 2: Or it'll just say Todd tied with go to like
• 24:25
  Speaker 2: I said that.
• 24:26
Speaker 3: Okay, So you go into the Tanning sloan bless them
• 24:28
Speaker 3: roll Tide, glow Tide.
• 24:29
Speaker 2: Beautiful, huge salon over thirty rooms, dirty emphasize. Remind you
• 24:36
Speaker 2: of Ross Pivot Ross Uh.
• 24:39
Speaker 3: When he got the four and the four you guys
• 24:41
Speaker 3: don't know from friends from the two, he forgot to
• 24:46
Speaker 3: turn got the two again, and then he went in
• 24:48
Speaker 3: again to try to even it out and got another two.
• 24:50
Speaker 2: So it was now he's a six. Oh my god,
• 24:52
Speaker 2: and he's like so orange.
• 24:54
Speaker 3: So anyway, tell me what tell me the gist of
• 24:57
Speaker 3: what they had to say in the Tanning slot.
• 24:59
Speaker 4: Well, we talked to a girl in there who was
• 25:02
Speaker 4: just about to rush. So that was a great, great
• 25:05
Speaker 4: girl to talk to. But they were also like trying
• 25:07
Speaker 4: to sell some member.
• 25:07
  Speaker 5: Sure.
• 25:08
Speaker 2: No, she talked to you a little. She talked to
• 25:09
Speaker 2: us on tape. Oh wow. Okay, So you go in
• 25:12
Speaker 2: the Tanning salon and there were customers in there getting
• 25:15
Speaker 2: prepped for rush rushies or actives rushies. Wow, and I
• 25:20
Speaker 2: kind of thought it was like actives.
• 25:22
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 25:22
Speaker 2: But the girl we talked to was about to go
• 25:23
  Speaker 2: into rush.
• 25:24
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, so you guys were able to actually
• 25:26
Speaker 3: get a girl who's about to go through Bama Rush.
• 25:28
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 25:29
Speaker 2: And she was lovely all right, we will not give
• 25:32
Speaker 2: her name. The greatest Rush mindset.
• 25:35
Speaker 1: If anyone is needing a mindset refresh before going into Rush,
• 25:39
  Speaker 1: I would.
• 25:40
Speaker 2: Definitely listen up amazing advice.
• 25:42
Speaker 4: I asked her point blank. I was like, what sorty
• 25:45
Speaker 4: do you want to be? And like, what's the top
• 25:47
Speaker 4: sorority here? And she goes, Honestly, I have no idea.
• 25:50
Speaker 4: I haven't even looked it up.
• 25:51
  Speaker 5: Wow.
• 25:51
Speaker 1: She's like, I made a conscious effort to not view
• 25:55
Speaker 1: like that. When she sees a TikTok, She's like, I
• 25:57
Speaker 1: try to scroll like whatever. She's like, I'm just really
• 26:00
Speaker 1: trying to go into an open mind and see where
• 26:01
  Speaker 1: I find go.
• 26:02
Speaker 3: To listen to her, and we have altered her voice
• 26:06
  Speaker 3: to protect her.
• 26:07
Speaker 7: Where are we right now?
• 26:08
Speaker 6: We're at Low Tanning and Tuscaalosa, Alabama. Love it? Okay?
• 26:12

• 26:49
Speaker 7: I'm so excited it's going to be a lot of people,
• 26:51
Speaker 7: but it's gonna be like Barbie Land, just so.
• 26:52
Speaker 6: Much of girls. I mean, you look like a.
• 26:54
Speaker 7: Barbie Like when is every I feel like all the

• 28:11
Speaker 1: But they also have hydra body facials like other wellness things,
• 28:16
Speaker 1: massage chairs, so you can do four services in one day,
• 28:19
Speaker 1: so you could go every day and a.
• 28:20
Speaker 2: Lot of people get the full membership. Yeah, yeah, I
• 28:22
Speaker 2: mean I think the smart money is on that one
• 28:25
  Speaker 2: hundred percent.
• 28:26
Speaker 4: When I would get a spray tan in La, it
• 28:28
Speaker 4: cost me eighty bucks a pop, and.
• 28:30
Speaker 2: This is fifty dollars unlimited services.
• 28:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, massage chairs, there was a massage, petties hydrah.
• 28:37
Speaker 2: I did get a many petty there though, massages at
• 28:39
Speaker 2: the same place, at this Globe place. No, this was
• 28:41
Speaker 2: a different place. Oh in Alabama. And then you're getting
• 28:44
Speaker 2: ready for rash All right, well okay, so I.
• 28:48
Speaker 3: Am excited that business. After this you found the boys
• 28:52
  Speaker 3: well done.
• 28:53
Speaker 1: So then we were like after a long, hard, frivolous day, frivolous.
• 28:59
Speaker 2: It was pretty frivile reporting Bella's like I am really
• 29:01
Speaker 2: embracing my new job as a reporter.
• 29:04
Speaker 1: We were like, we need dinner, and I was kind
• 29:06
Speaker 1: of like I could do, Like I don't even know.
• 29:08
  Speaker 2: Did I want Mexican food? I don't remember. I just
• 29:10
Speaker 2: dude in Tuscaloosa. So first night I knew I wanted
• 29:14
Speaker 2: some barbecue. Okay, I saw not name it because it
• 29:18
  Speaker 2: wasn't my favorite.
• 29:19
Speaker 4: And this is the kind of establishment where you go
• 29:21
Speaker 4: in and they hand you a menu and.
• 29:24
Speaker 2: A made of wonderbread. Oh yes, but the menu is sticky,
• 29:29
Speaker 2: probably like it had barbecue sauce on it. Huh yeah,
• 29:32
Speaker 2: authentic fun. Yeah, it was good before you had jam hands.
• 29:36
  Speaker 2: It's fine.
• 29:37
Speaker 1: And then this night, though the food or lunch was great.
• 29:40
Speaker 1: The next day I thought the sandwiches, oh yeah, hub whatever, So.
• 29:44
Speaker 2: You guys are out eating on the dirty rush dime.
• 29:48
Speaker 2: But I did not cost a pretty penny. Everything there
• 29:51
Speaker 2: was quite cheap. College town. That's pretty sonyway. We did
• 29:56
  Speaker 2: not go hungry.
• 29:57
Speaker 1: We did some TikTok research, as one does to find
• 30:00
  Speaker 1: the best restaurant.
• 30:01
Speaker 2: We should go to.
• 30:02
Speaker 1: Okay, great, so we got onto your talk and I
• 30:04
Speaker 1: found this place called Taco Mama.
• 30:07
Speaker 2: We go, We walk there to save some money.
• 30:10
Speaker 3: We want, oh say thank you was not available to
• 30:17
Speaker 3: we just needed the exercise.
• 30:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, jar Barbic, I mean Bell over here was feeding
• 30:21
Speaker 4: a burrito and I was feeding a frat boy conversation.
• 30:25
Speaker 2: So here we got to love that you found the boys.
• 30:26
Speaker 1: So it's a great vibe Margarita's frat boys.
• 30:30
Speaker 3: And I did get a great picture which we should
• 30:32
Speaker 3: post of producer Evvy talking to the boys and we
• 30:36
Speaker 3: have their backs, which I loved, so we can protect
• 30:38
Speaker 3: them but still show you guys the photo. And we're
• 30:40
Speaker 3: gonna have a ton of photos on our Instagram.
• 30:43
Speaker 2: What is our Instagram? Dirty Rush podcast podcast great.
• 30:47
Speaker 3: From Bama Rush. You know Bama Rush work Week. Uh
• 30:51
Speaker 3: so were you asking the boys their hot take essentially
• 30:55
  Speaker 3: on Sorority Rush?
• 30:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, great, tell me a little what they said, then
• 30:58
Speaker 2: we'll take a listen to them.
• 30:59
Speaker 4: Well, it's the perfect dynamic because I went up to
• 31:02
Speaker 4: this table of Frapp boys and I just knew they're
• 31:05
Speaker 4: wearing khaki shorts and the T shirts whatever, and they're like,
• 31:09
Speaker 4: oh my god, this guy's your guy. He's the student ambassador.
• 31:12
Speaker 4: Oh and then his friend comes down. He's like, and
• 31:16
Speaker 4: it's my birthday. And he was drink and I was like,
• 31:19
Speaker 4: this is great, good cop, backup, sit down, right, And
• 31:24
Speaker 4: so I started asking them the questions, and you know,
• 31:26
Speaker 4: you first, I'm learning how to be a journalist.
• 31:28
Speaker 2: You first asked him like, what do you guys do
• 31:29
Speaker 2: in here? How do you like taco mama? Yeah?
• 31:32
Speaker 1: And and they're like I overhear them like telling her
• 31:35
  Speaker 1: their order.
• 31:40
Speaker 2: Whatever it takes to get your story.
• 31:42
  Speaker 4: So I'm talking. I'm like, I I mean, I'm just
• 31:44
Speaker 4: loving Alabama. The vibes are great. I can tell why
• 31:47
Speaker 4: you guys love this school, Like, you know, tell me
• 31:49
Speaker 4: about Greek life here?
• 31:50
Speaker 2: What do you like it? Whatever? Going into it? And
• 31:51
Speaker 2: then I started asking like, well, if you had.
• 31:54
Speaker 4: To choose, like, what do you think the top sorority
• 31:57
  Speaker 4: would be here?
• 31:58
  Speaker 5: Right?
• 31:58
Speaker 2: An ambassador? Guys like, I'm going to hand that off
• 32:00
Speaker 2: to this Paneliniki kind of impartial.
• 32:03
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he's like doesn't want I think he gives
• 32:06
  Speaker 4: like it's probably like a.
• 32:06
Speaker 2: Tour guy take aside, right, Yeah, And the other guy's like,
• 32:11
Speaker 2: Kyo's my wife. Oh, Kyo's my wife. Kyo's my wife.
• 32:16
Speaker 2: We got to just roll the clip here movie, let's
• 32:18
Speaker 2: take let's listen to these these fellas.
• 32:21
Speaker 4: So I'm here at Taco Mama, like he would, you
• 32:25
Speaker 4: guys say, this is like the hottest Mexican.
• 32:26
Speaker 8: Place, the best Mexican place in town.
• 32:29
Speaker 2: So you're in a fraternity here.
• 32:31
Speaker 6: We are in a fraternity here.
• 32:32
Speaker 4: So do you feel like it's just like blown up
• 32:34
Speaker 4: in the last few years with like Fama.
• 32:36
Speaker 10: Rush, Well, probably going back to like seven four, five years.
• 32:43
Speaker 2: Five years, it was a really big deal. Especially a
• 32:47
Speaker 2: lot of the documentaries in that place. They out of
• 32:49
  Speaker 2: the water.
• 32:50
Speaker 5: I would say personally that was a not an accurate
• 32:53
Speaker 5: representation of what we are as a Greek live community.
• 32:55
Speaker 4: All Right, you guys, thank you so much, and say,
• 32:58
Speaker 4: my conversation with those two is just made my night.
• 33:01
  Speaker 2: They were great.
• 33:02
Speaker 4: Then I think they went off and partied and celebrated
• 33:04
Speaker 4: number two's birthday for them.
• 33:06
Speaker 1: Also, just to really give people an inside look to
• 33:08
Speaker 1: the atmosphere in Tuscalu. So we are here on a
• 33:11
Speaker 1: random Monday night. School is not in session. This is
• 33:15
Speaker 1: a random restaurant we find and it is fully packed.
• 33:18
Speaker 1: People are drinking. It's like a great time on this randomie.
• 33:21
Speaker 3: Did you get the vibe that these kids are having
• 33:24
Speaker 3: a great time at college at Bama.
• 33:27
Speaker 4: I think, like the perfect picture to explain, like I
• 33:31
Speaker 4: really understood like this school breeds school spirit because the
• 33:36
Speaker 4: Theta house practically backed up to the football stadium.
• 33:40
Speaker 2: Oh wow, you couldn't be in.
• 33:42
Speaker 4: Your sorority room, walk down the stairs and do a hop,
• 33:47
Speaker 4: skip and a jump and you'd be in the football stay.
• 33:49
Speaker 2: I went to Cal, and we have that same situation
• 33:51
Speaker 2: at Cal, not at UCLA.
• 33:53
Speaker 3: Ucla, unfortunately you have to go like on a two
• 33:55
Speaker 3: hour bus ride to the football game.
• 33:57
Speaker 2: You take like, yeah the road to help.
• 34:14
Speaker 3: Ladies for your first sorority college reporting job. Bravo, well done,
• 34:21
Speaker 3: You've got the story. You got your story. So to
• 34:25
Speaker 3: sort of wrap things up, what is your kind of button?
• 34:30
Speaker 3: Your two cents on work week at Bama because we
• 34:34
Speaker 3: really are re covering work week. We wanted to learn
• 34:38
Speaker 3: a little bit about the school and why it's become
• 34:39
  Speaker 3: so TikTok famous.
• 34:41
Speaker 2: But do you feel like they're working hard during work week?
• 34:46
Speaker 2: I think they're working very hard.
• 34:47
Speaker 1: It seemed like a lot of work was put in,
• 34:50
Speaker 1: like the houses are so pretty and all the decorations
• 34:52
Speaker 1: and stuff. But what actually, like I feel like stood
• 34:55
Speaker 1: out to me was that all the girls we talked to,
• 34:57
Speaker 1: even the ones we like didn't talk to, were really
• 35:00
Speaker 1: like happy and like seem like they really like their
• 35:02
Speaker 1: sorority and like there's so many there that I was like, Wow,
• 35:05
Speaker 1: you're all willing to like come and do all this
• 35:07
Speaker 1: work for your sorority, like even obviously not all of
• 35:10
Speaker 1: them can be like considered like top or whatever. But
• 35:12
Speaker 1: I'm like you almost like like it like pretty good.
• 35:15
Speaker 1: You know, yeah that that's not the case at every school.
• 35:18
Speaker 1: Like I feel like some people are like, oh I
• 35:20
Speaker 1: hate my sorority like whatever.
• 35:21
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 35:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, Well we did get the under We did find
• 35:25
Speaker 4: out that there's a really high turnover rate, like people draw.
• 35:27
Speaker 1: Does that mean oh, like people like girls dry like
• 35:30
Speaker 1: when they're like seers.
• 35:30
Speaker 2: Because the duw's apparently you're expensive.
• 35:33
Speaker 1: When upwards can be upwards of twenty thousand dollars a year,
• 35:37
Speaker 1: okay when you consider like uh like outfits for foremost.
• 35:43
Speaker 2: I don't really know what was going on. They were saying,
• 35:45
Speaker 2: just dudes, yeah, twenty k. So there's twenty k plus
• 35:48
Speaker 2: plus plus plus Yeah, so they say that, like there's
• 35:51
Speaker 2: a lot of turnover. Girls. Girls stay freshman, sophomore year,
• 35:54
Speaker 2: leave junior senior year. Okay, they're not staying the full
• 35:57
  Speaker 2: four years.
• 35:58
Speaker 3: And producer Evy, what's your sort of hot take on
• 36:01
Speaker 3: BAMA Rush work Week?
• 36:05
Speaker 4: Was this both your.
• 36:06
Speaker 2: First times to Alabama? I can't remember, this is my first.
• 36:08
Speaker 2: I added a new state to the list. I'm so glad.
• 36:10
Speaker 2: Was this your first time Alabama?
• 36:11
  Speaker 5: BA?
• 36:12
  Speaker 7: Yeah?
• 36:12
Speaker 2: Okay, great, yeah, give me your hand.
• 36:13
Speaker 4: I think my hot take would be that the moms
• 36:16
Speaker 4: and the like adult women are a lot more involved
• 36:20
Speaker 4: in the South than in where I went to school.
• 36:23
Speaker 2: In La same Macal, the moms are zero involved.
• 36:26
Speaker 4: No, and these are all of the moms are coming
• 36:29
Speaker 4: for work week, even if their daughters are already in sororities.
• 36:32
Speaker 4: All the moms come for Sorority Rush to be like
• 36:34
Speaker 4: they're for emotional support. They're buying a hotel room in
• 36:38
Speaker 4: the place that we stayed. And then we saw like
• 36:41
Speaker 4: a bunch of women, like like maybe women who had
• 36:44
Speaker 4: been in the STORTI and are like in the alumni
• 36:46
Speaker 4: network or whatever, rowing up their car parking and bringing.
• 36:49
Speaker 2: Out all this stuff for work week, like out of
• 36:52
Speaker 2: their car. It's like all loading rogs and all this shit.
• 36:54
Speaker 2: We also met a.
• 36:55
Speaker 1: Lot of people who had gone to Alabama, that lived
• 36:59
Speaker 1: in huscal loose now or we're there in Tuscaloos like
• 37:02
Speaker 1: do whatever. Like the two ladies on my flight randomly
• 37:04
Speaker 1: started talking about how they were both five US at
• 37:06
Speaker 1: the University of Alabama, like into Birmingham, Like you know
• 37:08
Speaker 1: what I'm saying, it's momsy, this was pre momisee.
• 37:11
Speaker 2: Like oh wom well this fine? You two, Yes, that's
• 37:17
  Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
• 37:18
Speaker 1: We met, we're overstirred, like five plus like a lot
• 37:22
Speaker 1: of people almost ever. We talked to make you go
• 37:24
Speaker 1: and you stay, yeah, yeah stay, it seemed, but.
• 37:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, well done, well done, well done.
• 37:30
Speaker 3: Well I can't wait to see where we send you next.
• 37:32
  Speaker 3: Great stuff.
• 37:33
  Speaker 6: Me neither.
• 37:35
Speaker 2: In Oklahoma, they were plugged.
• 37:39
Speaker 4: Lindsay at the boutique was she could not stop talking
• 37:41
Speaker 4: about how much she loved Auburn.
• 37:43
Speaker 2: She's like, you guys, just gotta go. Where's Auburn that's
• 37:46
Speaker 2: also in Alabama? Oh you're going back to Alabama? I guess.
• 37:51
  Speaker 2: Well done.
• 37:52
Speaker 3: Then this is a dirty rush on our work week
• 37:55
Speaker 3: special at our sorority retreat at a secret location, and
• 37:58
  Speaker 3: we're so glad you're listening.
• 37:59
  Speaker 2: Let's get dirty
• 38:10
  Speaker 1: Hmm.
