- 0:00Speaker 1: I have stacks of information. Rich has life hacks. My
- 0:02Speaker 1: information is the kind of stuff you can take with
- 0:03Speaker 1: you into the weekend. It's like, Oh wow. I didn't
- 0:05Speaker 1: know that. We talk a lot about the voice on
- 0:08Speaker 1: the show recently, right? Give it a gift cards to
- 0:10Speaker 1: the voice. New season of voice. I guess that you
- 0:13Speaker 1: may have forgotten some of today's biggest artists once auditioned
- 0:16Speaker 1: for The Voice. Auditioned? Okay. I think you're going to
- 0:19Speaker 1: be very, very surprised. I forgot about that. You guys
- 0:22Speaker 1: know Camila Cabello auditioned for The Voice? No way. Really?
- 0:25Speaker 1: She passed the audition with producers but never auditioned for
- 0:28Speaker 1: the coaches.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Oh, so we never saw it.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Mm-mm. Lainey Wilson, who just performed at our iHeartRadio Music Festival.
- 0:36Speaker 1: She auditioned seven times.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
- 0:39Speaker 1: She never made it to the part where they turned
- 0:40Speaker 1: the chairs around.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Wow.
- 0:42Speaker 1: That just shows you just never give up.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Maren Morse, she was rejected also by American Idol.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 0:50Speaker 1: This part's cute. Morgan Wallen, he made it to the
- 0:53Speaker 1: show in season six but was eliminated during the playoffs.
- 0:55Speaker 1: And now the dude fills arena stadiums. I knew that one.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Chapel Roan, she was 15 and said the producer she
- 1:03Speaker 1: auditioned with didn't even look up from their phone.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Luke Combs, he auditioned in front of producers, was basically
- 1:10Speaker 1: told he's too boring for television. What? That's crazy. Those
- 1:13Speaker 1: are all people.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Too boring for television? Why?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Because does the voice give you background information on the...
- 1:19Speaker 3: contestants and stuff yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: They do some of the stories and stuff like idol
- 1:23Speaker 2: it's kind of the same.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Show but different again stacks is hat and hacks the
- 1:26Speaker 1: stacks part is just random information do you guys know
- 1:28Speaker 1: that female kangaroos have three vajayjays.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah i did not know that you knew that yeah that's.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Awesome they also have like two inside pouches and they're
- 1:35Speaker 3: like kangaroos.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Are really cool.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I didn't know Peyton knew so much about kangaroos.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I really was.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Big on the Discovery Channel when I was a kid.
- 1:43Speaker 2: And that comes up a lot on the Discovery Channel.
- 1:45Speaker 3: I just really take a liking to sharks specifically, but
- 1:48Speaker 3: I really like the animals.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So you know that kangaroos have three vajayjas, but you
- 1:51Speaker 1: don't know who Public Enemy is. Well, I was familiar. No,
- 1:55Speaker 1: that's good.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I know Flava Flav, which we've learned recently.
- 2:00Speaker 2: If you're a band name and your band name is
- 2:01Speaker 2: Kangaroo with three vajayjas, you're going to go fuck.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Do you know there are no native squirrels in Australia
- 2:07Speaker 1: or New Zealand?
- 2:08Speaker 2: I did not know that.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So what, they're just an invasive species if they're there?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess so. Did you know that after medical
- 2:14Speaker 1: students work on cadavers, it makes them hungry? Not because
- 2:18Speaker 1: of weird cannibalistic urges, because the smell of formaldehyde increases
- 2:21Speaker 1: your appetite.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Ew! I feel like that would make you lose your appetite.
- 2:25Speaker 2: That smell is forever burned in my brain from high school.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Always seen all those shows where they're like working on
- 2:32Speaker 3: the dead people and they're like eating.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I thought they did that.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I wonder if that's like an actual thing though.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So there's this phrase called slop face and there say
- 2:44Speaker 1: slop face taking over Hollywood. Okay. What's slop face? Al Pacino,
- 2:50Speaker 1: Sylvester Stallone, Meryl Streep, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Walken, Samuel Jackson,
- 2:53Speaker 1: Sandra Bullock. There was a time when celebrities didn't all
- 2:56Speaker 1: share a certain look. A writer at The Hollywood Reporter
- 2:59Speaker 1: thinks that's changing. Today's stars all have a sameness to them.
- 3:02Speaker 1: The writer calls it Instagram face or slop face. Is
- 3:05Speaker 1: it just basically Botoxed? They all look the same. I
- 3:08Speaker 1: think there's a certain look that you're just like good looking.
- 3:10Speaker 1: There's no really ugly big name actors like the people
- 3:13Speaker 1: I just named, like Sylvester Stallone, Al Pacino, Nicolas Cage,
- 3:16Speaker 1: Christopher Walken. They're not gorgeous. Although Sandra Bullock is. So
- 3:20Speaker 1: I don't know what she's like. Yeah. They call Rachel
- 3:23Speaker 1: McAdams brave for keeping her beauty marks, right? Like people
- 3:26Speaker 1: get their teeth fixed. People get all kinds of stuff like.
- 3:28Speaker 3: That, right?
- 3:29Speaker 1: And to wrap up sex and hacks, everyday phrases that
- 3:34Speaker 1: can sound condescending. It all depends on your tone.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Good for you. Is that one of them? Good for you.
- 3:42Speaker 1: No, but that's good.
- 3:43Speaker 2: That's nice for you.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I don't think you understand, Richard, what I'm trying to do.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Maybe you should Google it. That's one of them you
- 3:50Speaker 1: wouldn't understand.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I don't want to be condescending. That's when you talk
- 3:52Speaker 2: down to somebody.
- 3:54Speaker 1: It's not that big a deal. What if it's a
- 3:56Speaker 1: big deal to them? So when you minimize their feelings.
- 4:00Speaker 1: You just need to. Not everyone loves receiving instructions. That's condescending.
- 4:05Speaker 1: You're trying your best. Or are you just setting low expectations?
- 4:09Speaker 1: So when you say you're trying your best, that's condescending.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I guess it's condescending when you say, well, actually... It's
- 4:14Speaker 1: even worse if it follows up by explaining something you
- 4:16Speaker 1: already know. And the number one thing that's condescending, that's cute.
- 4:21Speaker 2: There's a John Jay one right there.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I love that one. That's adorable.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And then you put whatever somebody's working on, you put
- 4:27Speaker 2: little in front of that. How's your little assignment going?
- 4:30Speaker 1: What do you got for life hacks?
- 4:31Speaker 2: All right, here's my little life hack. The healthy hair hack,
- 4:34Speaker 2: which I didn't know. You guys probably know this because
- 4:35Speaker 2: you guys are smart, Peyton, Kyle, but I did not
- 4:38Speaker 2: know this. If you want to know how your hair's doing...
- 4:41Speaker 2: you should just drop it in some water, like a
- 4:45Speaker 2: couple of strands, because when it floats, that's good. When
- 4:48Speaker 2: it sinks, not good. So I guess if it's short
- 4:52Speaker 2: of nutrients, then it'll drop to the bottom. And when
- 4:56Speaker 2: hair absorbs water faster, that means that you might be sickly.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I thought that was just your hair porosity.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I guess not. It's the whole thing. So
- 5:06Speaker 2: I would, you know, if you want to have some fun.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Take off a couple locks and see what they do.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Sink or float. That hair hack and many more can
- 5:13Speaker 2: be found at johnjainrich.com.
