- 0:02Speaker 1: to you, Mahi. Good morning other day for you yesterday
- 0:06Speaker 1: and your entire region. We've had the workers working overnight.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We're getting reports that they're now using spades.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Look, we've we've had Yeah, they're doing a lot of
- 0:19Speaker 2: good work. You know, they've moved a lot of dirt overnight. Unfortunately,
- 0:26Speaker 2: we're still to identify or find any anyone. It is
- 0:32Speaker 2: still very much a rescue effort. So you know, I
- 0:35Speaker 2: think when when they find place of interest, they will
- 0:41Speaker 2: use spades, but the diggers are very much continuing with
- 0:45Speaker 2: with the search.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Have you spoken to the families who might have people
- 0:51Speaker 1: that are unaccounted for?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yes, Look, we focused most of our day yesterday on
- 0:57Speaker 2: on trying to support the families. You know, you can
- 1:00Speaker 2: imagine how how tough a time that is when you're
- 1:04Speaker 2: not sure of of you know, what what is happening
- 1:08Speaker 2: and where your your loved ones are. So look, it's
- 1:12Speaker 2: it was a pretty emotional data to be honest, you know.
- 1:16Speaker 2: But but we're doing what we can. There's the family
- 1:20Speaker 2: liaison officers from the police that are supporting them. And look,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I can just just say the community have been absolutely
- 1:27Speaker 2: amazing with you know, the care packages they've brought down,
- 1:32Speaker 2: the the support they give along with fall the volunteers,
- 1:36Speaker 2: you know, the self life savers and fans and police.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So look, it's a it is a tough time, but
- 1:42Speaker 2: you know, getting through it and the right people are
- 1:45Speaker 2: doing the right thing.
- 1:46Speaker 1: So we just need to support that is the weather
- 1:49Speaker 1: stable and is the land stable or still in the stable?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Oh look the weather the weather at the moment is
- 1:57Speaker 2: is still stable. The land is not. And you know,
- 2:03Speaker 2: they did have to pull back a bit during the
- 2:07Speaker 2: night as as they brought in a specialist search team
- 2:13Speaker 2: to to you know, put the dogs over again. And
- 2:16Speaker 2: as they were stopped. While that was happening, they could
- 2:19Speaker 2: hear further tree cracking around the slip. So you look,
- 2:24Speaker 2: we also have the rescue people to to make sure
- 2:29Speaker 2: that they also stay safe. So you know, it's it's
- 2:32Speaker 2: a very tricky balance in a in a very tricky
- 2:35Speaker 2: situation to to try to balance the safety of the
- 2:39Speaker 2: rescue workers along with you know, trying as quickly as
- 2:44Speaker 2: as possible to to rescue the people that are unaccounted for.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Did you get any sleep that night.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I've got a couple of hours. You know, as you
- 2:54Speaker 2: can imagine, it's it's pretty hard, you know, knowing that
- 2:57Speaker 2: that there are people missing and we want to find
- 3:01Speaker 2: them as quickly as possible. But you know, as I say,
- 3:04Speaker 2: we've we've got really good teams. Everyone's doing an amazing
- 3:08Speaker 2: job and and uh, you know, just just thank you
- 3:11Speaker 2: too to everyone that's that's involved and doing the work
- 3:16Speaker 2: that's required or.
