- 0:00Speaker 1: Want more Treehouse, check out our YouTube exclusive shows at
- 0:02Speaker 1: YouTube dot com. Slash at Treehouse on air.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It is time to believe your worries outside and laugh
- 0:13Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 0:17Speaker 2: Trey Trenholm, comedian Ron Sharman and Jerry Caldwell. And what
- 0:25Speaker 2: I like to call a new example of an attractive nuisance.
- 0:30Speaker 2: A Florida Keys boat captain has been accused of selling
- 0:33Speaker 2: kilos of cocaine that he found at sea. So you
- 0:38Speaker 2: know how this guy's gonna get wrung up for attempting
- 0:45Speaker 2: to deal and sell kilos of cocaine. But what about
- 0:50Speaker 2: those people that hurt themselves in a neighbor's pool, and
- 0:55Speaker 2: instead of being prosecuted for trespass, they sue the homeowner
- 0:59Speaker 2: for a having an attractive nuisance in their backyard. And
- 1:03Speaker 2: when so, I'm just floating this. When you leave drugs
- 1:11Speaker 2: floating in the Atlantic, in the Florida Keys in a
- 1:14Speaker 2: boat cap that happens upon them, I mean, is it
- 1:17Speaker 2: really his fault that he tries to sell them and
- 1:19Speaker 2: make a few bucks. It's only fair.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I think it's good you didn't purchase it to the
- 1:30Speaker 3: intended distribute right is if well, I guess it's if
- 1:34Speaker 3: you buy it and then try.
- 1:35Speaker 4: To sell it.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Now, I think the intended distribute is when you is
- 1:38Speaker 2: when you try to sell it is when you try
- 1:40Speaker 2: to distribute it. So, but I'm with you. I feel
- 1:43Speaker 2: like in order for it to be a true, like
- 1:47Speaker 2: decades long sentence type situation, I feel like you gotta,
- 1:51Speaker 2: you know, be the guy that's handling it from source
- 1:55Speaker 2: to distribution, as opposed to look what I've found? Would
- 1:59Speaker 2: you like this? Yeah, I have this that I found?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Would you like some? It's Is it a system or
- 2:05Speaker 2: is it just opportunistic?
- 2:07Speaker 5: If you just happen to find random cocaine floating in
- 2:10Speaker 5: the ocean, who do you sue for the attractive nuisance?
- 2:13Speaker 2: The government? Because if they weren't out there blowing ships
- 2:17Speaker 2: up and making the drug dealers dump it overboard, then
- 2:21Speaker 2: it wouldn't have been floating in the water in the
- 2:23Speaker 2: first place. War on drugs has gotten o a hand.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Nancy Ragan has to be stopped.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Can the attorney use like the finders keeper's rule?
- 2:38Speaker 2: I would thoroughly enjoy watching on court TV the finder's
- 2:42Speaker 2: Keeper's defense, Except this guy didn't do that. It was
- 2:46Speaker 2: finders sellers.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the problem with the finders keeper's defense
- 2:51Speaker 1: is the other part of that, which is possession is
- 2:54Speaker 1: two thirds of the law.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Here is that or in this case of eight moll.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Oh, it's a lot.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know, but drug weights. I've
- 3:09Speaker 2: never been a hard drug guy. I couldn't even tell
- 3:12Speaker 2: you what the proper amount of marijuana is to smoke
- 3:15Speaker 2: or to stick in a pike kind of a thing.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So I have no idea even how much an eight
- 3:20Speaker 2: ball is. I assume that it that it correlates to
- 3:23Speaker 2: the size of an actual eight ball, Then why do
- 3:27Speaker 2: they call it eight ball?
- 3:29Speaker 4: Uh eight?
- 3:32Speaker 2: Because it's it's an eighth of something. Yeah, I don't
- 3:37Speaker 2: think I ever would have gotten there. I just assumed
- 3:39Speaker 2: that it was like roughly the size of an eight ball.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So whenever I heard someone talk about, oh, I got
- 3:43Speaker 2: an eight ball of cocaine, It's like, that sounds like
- 3:45Speaker 2: a lot of cocaine. It's the size of a billiard ball.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And then I thought, well, if it's not that, then
- 3:50Speaker 2: is that is an eight ball? Then eight servings. I
- 3:55Speaker 2: have no idea, So it's an eighth of something. Jerry, Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I'm looking that up.
- 4:00Speaker 4: It's eight an ounce, Yeah, something like that.
- 4:03Speaker 2: An eighth of an ounce. That doesn't sound cool. That
- 4:06Speaker 2: sounds kind of weak. It's like an eight bles out
- 4:11Speaker 2: again every time. I don't know when I hear I
- 4:14Speaker 2: got a new bole that sounds like a lot. When
- 4:16Speaker 2: you when it's an eighth of an ounce, it's like,
- 4:18Speaker 2: that doesn't sit like a whole lot. I put more.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I've put more weight protein powder in my bolt of
- 4:23Speaker 2: Greek yogurt than you're doing bumps.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Of I just I feel like this boat captain, the
- 4:28Speaker 1: problem is he got greedy. He really he could have
- 4:31Speaker 1: gone to Miami, found some you know, crypto bro and
- 4:37Speaker 1: been like, hey, let me.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Give you the deal of the century. Yeah, I'm with
- 4:43Speaker 2: you because I will say this, with as many police
- 4:46Speaker 2: officers as we know, Trey, and enough of those officers
- 4:49Speaker 2: that we know have worked under cover, right, not a
- 4:54Speaker 2: single one of them could go under cover as a
- 4:57Speaker 2: crypto bro. They don't look the part at all and
- 5:00Speaker 2: ain't gonna happen. So if you're trying to offload some
- 5:04Speaker 2: found cocaine, selling it to a crypto bro is a
- 5:09Speaker 2: great choice. Because I don't know a single cop I've
- 5:12Speaker 2: never known a single cop that would ever come close
- 5:15Speaker 2: to in a million years looking like a crypto bro. Homeless, Yes,
- 5:23Speaker 2: a little on the tawdry side in someplace. Maybe they
- 5:25Speaker 2: shouldn't be absolutely very good at blending into those situations,
- 5:31Speaker 2: but not the not the crypto bro type. So yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 2: that's a great idea, finding the closest crypto bro, which
- 5:36Speaker 2: is somewhere in a penthouse in Miami, and that's that's
- 5:40Speaker 2: your target. And eight ball is one eighth of an
- 5:44Speaker 2: ounce or three point five grams. Three point five grams
- 5:47Speaker 2: saw metric stuff. I'm so bad at it. How many
- 5:50Speaker 2: cups is that?
- 5:52Speaker 4: Three point five grams? How many cups isn't that?
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's how my brain operates. I need to know cups
- 5:58Speaker 2: and ounces like not not ounces by weight, but ounces
- 6:02Speaker 2: by volume. This is this is the problem with the
- 6:05Speaker 2: American system versus the metrics system. My brain can't translate
- 6:09Speaker 2: these good.
- 6:10Speaker 4: The first time you do hard drugs, you're gonna overdose.
- 6:16Speaker 5: That's why we're doing a cup tonight. Yeah, OK, please
- 6:23Speaker 5: three point fives?
- 6:25Speaker 2: No, man, I mean seriously, I grew up in the
- 6:26Speaker 2: era of what what's your bench bro? Not the uh,
- 6:30Speaker 2: you know, the dainty you know, finger nail whatever. So
- 6:35Speaker 2: I have a hard time wrapping my brain around an
- 6:39Speaker 2: eighth of an ounce, being like, yeah, an eighth of
- 6:42Speaker 2: announces around three quarters of a teaspoon.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Doesn't.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Again, obviously I've never tried it, so I don't know.
- 6:54Speaker 2: My perspective is greatly askew. That just doesn't seem like
- 6:58Speaker 2: that much. But then again, whenever I've seen it in
- 7:01Speaker 2: film and television and on the a couple of occasions
- 7:04Speaker 2: i've seen it in person, I guess it doesn't actually
- 7:06Speaker 2: take that much to get you going.
- 7:09Speaker 5: I mean, that depends on how far along you are
- 7:11Speaker 5: in your cocaine career. But it's a journey, Jerry, we
- 7:14Speaker 5: call it a journey. These days, we're all on a journey.
- 7:19Speaker 6: This this guy was trying to make it a career.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Everybody else is on a journey.
- 7:28Speaker 2: A sixty five year old Florida Key's boat captain was
- 7:30Speaker 2: arrested on Monday after deputies say he was selling kilos
- 7:34Speaker 2: of drugs that he found at sea. Following an investigation
- 7:38Speaker 2: led by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, deputy say they
- 7:40Speaker 2: nabbed Bradford Todd Picarello and seized twenty three kilograms of cocaine,
- 7:46Speaker 2: his thirty eight foot vessel, eight thousand dollars in cash,
- 7:50Speaker 2: and a forty caliber handgun. All right, twenty three kilos
- 7:54Speaker 2: of cocaine? How much is that it comes? Okay?
- 8:00Speaker 4: I think it's a forty pounds.
- 8:04Speaker 2: This is why I need to know the you know
- 8:08Speaker 2: the formula. I need to know what you know?
- 8:11Speaker 6: The comparison is, Yeah, it should be roughly if it's
- 8:16Speaker 6: twenty three kilos, it should like forty five pounds.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Ish, Okay, that sounds like a lot of cocaine. That
- 8:22Speaker 2: is that's I mean, that's like a that's like an
- 8:25Speaker 2: eight or nine year old. That is approximately one hundred
- 8:28Speaker 2: and eighty four cups. Thank you, Jared. That's one hundred
- 8:33Speaker 2: and eighty four cups of non fat Greek yogurt. To me,
- 8:38Speaker 2: that's a lot.
- 8:39Speaker 4: That's what they call Miami too.
- 8:45Speaker 2: The investigation code. Yeah. The investigation ended Monday, when undercover
- 8:50Speaker 2: Sheriff's Office Special Operations detectives purchased a kilo of cocaine
- 8:54Speaker 2: from Picarella for ten thousand dollars and placed him under arrest.
- 8:59Speaker 2: He was subsequent booked in the Monroe County Sheriff's Office
- 9:02Speaker 2: on counts of trafficking cocaine, selling cocaine, and possessing cocaine.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And since it's in the story that it was found
- 9:11Speaker 2: at sea, I'm just guessing that was his story to
- 9:14Speaker 2: the arresting authorities, saying, Okay, look, it's not that bad.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I just found it floating and decided I would sell it.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It's not like I picked it up directly from Venezuela.
- 9:29Speaker 4: And you don't want the sharks to get a hold
- 9:31Speaker 4: of it again.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. He's doing us all a favor. He's
- 9:35Speaker 2: keeping the beaches safe by making sure the sharks don't
- 9:39Speaker 2: accidentally ingest the cocaine again like they've done in years past.
- 9:45Speaker 3: And what do you do, Like, okay, let's say you
- 9:47Speaker 3: find it. Do you show up at the police station
- 9:49Speaker 3: and be like, hey, I found all of this cocaine
- 9:51Speaker 3: and they don't arrest you either way?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Mm hmm. I think so that's supposed to be how
- 9:56Speaker 2: it should work. It's like, hey, it's kind of like
- 9:59Speaker 2: finding a lost wall. You say like, hey, I found this,
- 10:02Speaker 2: they don't arrest you for stealing the wallet. Wallet's are
- 10:04Speaker 2: an illegal possess, all right, that's a solid point, Jerry
- 10:08Speaker 2: think I think I'm just saying when the idea is,
- 10:12Speaker 2: if you find something dangerous, you're supposed to be able
- 10:14Speaker 2: to call the authorities, and they're not supposed to assume
- 10:18Speaker 2: that you made it.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think if you call the coastguard at the point
- 10:23Speaker 1: you find it, you're you're gonna be okay.
- 10:26Speaker 2: So like, don't bring it on board. Maybe just call
- 10:32Speaker 2: it in, just radio into the coastguard. Hey, here's my position.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I see something floating, I'm just gonna hang out about
- 10:38Speaker 2: twenty thirty yards away just so you can find it
- 10:42Speaker 2: more easily. But I'm not touching it.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Drop them a pin.
- 10:51Speaker 2: What if he put an actual pin in the cocaine
- 10:54Speaker 2: and some shot out and accidentally went into his nose
- 10:58Speaker 2: as he inhaled.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Well, he was just making sure it was pure. That's
- 11:07Speaker 4: what this is.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Coke great. I just want you guys to know I'm
- 11:12Speaker 2: radioing in the good stuff. This isn't fake. I tried it.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, I think it'd be.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Hey, guys, I want you to know I'm radioing the
- 11:18Speaker 1: good stuff.
- 11:24Speaker 7: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit is online a treehouse
- 11:28Speaker 7: on air dot com.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I found some real big, real big.
- 11:30Speaker 4: You gotta see it.
- 11:31Speaker 8: Oh my god.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Eight three three Cook DFW is the phone number you
- 11:37Speaker 2: need to contact Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration
- 11:41Speaker 2: schedule that free roof inspection and property review. Speaking of
- 11:45Speaker 2: the property review, Daniel, after you're done doing the roof inspection,
- 11:50Speaker 2: you come down off the roof and you grab that
- 11:51Speaker 2: homeowner and say, hey, let's take a little walk around
- 11:53Speaker 2: your property and let me show you a few things
- 11:55Speaker 2: I've noticed. What are some of the most common things
- 11:57Speaker 2: that you see, but a homeowner doesn't.
- 12:00Speaker 9: Majority of the time, when we walk around a home,
- 12:02Speaker 9: especially a home that's getting that age between five and
- 12:04Speaker 9: ten years old, we see a lot of calking seals
- 12:08Speaker 9: coming loose. Flashings are starting to fail, the rubber seals
- 12:13Speaker 9: around your doors, your garage door, all of those things
- 12:18Speaker 9: and all changes based on the home. You know, some
- 12:20Speaker 9: homes face south and west, and of course you get
- 12:24Speaker 9: more beat down sun in the summertime, and that really
- 12:27Speaker 9: affects those kind of things. Some homes face north, they
- 12:30Speaker 9: don't get as much sunlight, so you start having the
- 12:33Speaker 9: opposite effect with different things growing as far as organic
- 12:37Speaker 9: matter and you know, you know, discoloration, and then we
- 12:42Speaker 9: always see around the windows, the calking is shrinking. Irrigation
- 12:47Speaker 9: sometimes will get affected as your home ages, the soil changes,
- 12:50Speaker 9: and so does the way that the plot of land
- 12:53Speaker 9: that your home rest on changes. So there's just so
- 12:55Speaker 9: many things. Until you go out and really walk around
- 12:58Speaker 9: your house and really take it a different perspective, it's
- 13:02Speaker 9: hard to know all the things that be going on
- 13:04Speaker 9: on your home. So we would love to do that
- 13:05Speaker 9: with you. Just call us out, take us about thirty
- 13:08Speaker 9: forty five minutes, but it's well worth it.
- 13:10Speaker 4: At the end.

- 14:03Speaker 2: There you go, all right, Big news out of Fort Worth.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Caleb Halverson, Fort Worth firefighter, who was badly burned while
- 14:18Speaker 2: responding to a house fire in September of twenty twenty five,
- 14:23Speaker 2: will receive workers compensation for treatment for injuries he sustained
- 14:28Speaker 2: while responding to that Fort Worth house fire. It only
- 14:35Speaker 2: took a minor miracle to get it. And this is
- 14:38Speaker 2: the kind of bullet that I just don't understand that
- 14:42Speaker 2: happens with first responders. And of course, our DUP insurance
- 14:47Speaker 2: system in this country, Sedgwick, which handles workers' compensation claims
- 14:54Speaker 2: for the city of Fort Worth, allegedly initially denied the
- 14:58Speaker 2: injured firefighters claimed, but then reversed that decision after public
- 15:02Speaker 2: backlash to the decision. That's according to the Fort Worth
- 15:06Speaker 2: Star Telegrams reporting. Caleb Halverson, Fortworth firefighter was badly burned
- 15:10Speaker 2: while responding to a house fire September twenty twenty five.
- 15:13Speaker 2: While fighting the fire, he became pinned under heavy roof
- 15:17Speaker 2: debris and suffered second and third degree burns to his back, legs, hands,
- 15:21Speaker 2: and faced. He also sustained a dislocated knee and other injuries.
- 15:25Speaker 2: He was released from the burn unit at Parkland Hospital
- 15:28Speaker 2: after undergoing several major surgeries. After multiple denials, the city
- 15:33Speaker 2: of Fort Worth will now cover the cost of a
- 15:36Speaker 2: machine to help him recover from triple knee ligament surgery
- 15:40Speaker 2: and laser surgery to aid in the healing of his
- 15:42Speaker 2: extensive burns. That's what he said in a Facebook post.
- 15:46Speaker 2: In a statement, city Manager Jay Chappa said the delays
- 15:49Speaker 2: were related to issues with the physician chosen by Halverson
- 15:52Speaker 2: not being within the city's network of workers' compensation providers.
- 16:00Speaker 2: How does that work well? According to that, he was
- 16:03Speaker 2: supposed to choose certain providers in the city's health network
- 16:07Speaker 2: and they said he didn't. Therefore that made a huge problems.
- 16:11Speaker 1: The short version, it's probably not that he chose someone different.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It's because Parkland probably isn't in Fort Wors network. Although
- 16:20Speaker 1: but Parkland is one of the best burned trauma units
- 16:25Speaker 1: in the country, and.
- 16:26Speaker 2: This is where a fair amount of common sense should
- 16:28Speaker 2: come into play. I understand that Dallas is not Fort Worth,
- 16:33Speaker 2: so I understand the general thinking that Dallas is not
- 16:39Speaker 2: in Fort Worth's medical network. However, if you are a
- 16:45Speaker 2: fire fighter. It does make sense that you would have
- 16:49Speaker 2: one of the most prestigious burn units in the world,
- 16:54Speaker 2: which is forty miles away in your network. Jesus Christ,
- 17:01Speaker 2: this is stupid, and this is stuff that people see
- 17:06Speaker 2: and read and approve. Well, you know what, I made
- 17:10Speaker 2: an assumption there. I'm assuming that they're reading through these things.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Well, it's not even I am sure they probably did
- 17:19Speaker 1: not think about firefighter.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Parkland burn unit.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And you know, although they should. You you would think
- 17:29Speaker 1: it would be standard for especially for first responder policies
- 17:33Speaker 1: of oh, hey, we'll make an exception, you know, to
- 17:36Speaker 1: the nearest level one, you know, burn unit.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And you know what, even if even if they don't
- 17:43Speaker 2: read the stuff ahead of time, and then a situation
- 17:45Speaker 2: like this, you know, just kind of layers up and
- 17:49Speaker 2: the firefighter is taken to Parkland for treatment and recovery
- 17:52Speaker 2: and everything. Maybe when that paperwork comes across, don't deny
- 17:57Speaker 2: it because it's out of network, look at it for
- 17:59Speaker 2: the sense that it makes and go, hey, you know what,
- 18:02Speaker 2: this kind of makes sense. We should probably just approve this.
- 18:05Speaker 2: It doesn't happen that often. It's probably gonna be okay,
- 18:08Speaker 2: someone higher up might get mad that we approved it
- 18:11Speaker 2: because it's gonna cost a lot of money. But at
- 18:14Speaker 2: the end of the day, isn't that what insurance is.
- 18:16Speaker 2: It's gambling and on this one you lost, so you
- 18:21Speaker 2: got it. Just pisses me off. Also, this reversal to
- 18:27Speaker 2: cover comes after Fort Worth City council member Charlie Lauersdorf
- 18:33Speaker 2: called out the company and said he was declaring war
- 18:36Speaker 2: in a Facebook post after the company had denied the
- 18:39Speaker 2: first responders workers' compensation claims. He says, when a first
- 18:42Speaker 2: responder gets hurt doing their job, the system should move
- 18:45Speaker 2: heaven and Earth to take care of them and return
- 18:48Speaker 2: them to the warrior athlete they were. Instead, I've heard
- 18:51Speaker 2: of delays, denials, run arounds, paperwork, games, and bureaucratic a
- 18:55Speaker 2: bolt that leaves injured firefighters and police officers fighting two battles,
- 19:00Speaker 2: one on the job and one at home. After that,
- 19:06Speaker 2: the city managers said that they will add a position
- 19:10Speaker 2: to the city's HR department to serve as a case manager,
- 19:13Speaker 2: specifically for first responders who suffer an injury at work. Again,
- 19:17Speaker 2: that seems like something that they would have had already,
- 19:20Speaker 2: because enough of that stuff happens. Fort Worth is a
- 19:22Speaker 2: large enough city with enough police officers and firefighters that
- 19:26Speaker 2: it would just make sense to have someone on the payroll.
- 19:29Speaker 2: They kind of help with the process. M crazy thoughts
- 19:35Speaker 2: on my end, I guess, then again, I'm not a
- 19:38Speaker 2: bureaucrat city manager. Chapa also said, please know the city
- 19:43Speaker 2: works consistently to get the best care possible for all
- 19:45Speaker 2: of our injured employees. This employee included, while remaining compliant
- 19:49Speaker 2: with Texas laws that govern workers compensation. And that is
- 19:54Speaker 2: also true. As much as I'm dogging on the City
- 19:56Speaker 2: of Fort Worth in this situation and the insurance companies centric,
- 19:59Speaker 2: there are our rules and stipulations and laws when it
- 20:02Speaker 2: comes to workmen's or workers compensation. So that's another prong
- 20:07Speaker 2: of the approach is there may need to be something
- 20:10Speaker 2: changed there.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Oh absolutely needs to be worked from the reworked from
- 20:17Speaker 5: the top down.
- 20:19Speaker 2: And these are instances where they should do that as
- 20:21Speaker 2: opposed to just treating it like a one off, having
- 20:24Speaker 2: to wait until something bad happens, and then having to
- 20:27Speaker 2: wait till more bad things happen before they actually do
- 20:30Speaker 2: anything to accommodate this one bad situation.
- 20:33Speaker 5: What if it had been multiple firefighters that it happened
- 20:36Speaker 5: to you're gonna wait for that one.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Yeah. It's just stuff like this that just drives me
- 20:42Speaker 2: absolutely crazy, and it makes me wonder. It's like, why
- 20:44Speaker 2: do we keep putting ourselves through this? Like, come on,
- 20:49Speaker 2: just just fix it, fix it, fix it.
- 20:52Speaker 1: But here, and I'll give you a counterpoint on this
- 20:54Speaker 1: one though. Adding a position and a bureaucracy to handle
- 20:58Speaker 1: this stuff just ultimately adds cost to the whole thing.
- 21:02Speaker 4: It's the whole.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. And I tell you what, if whoever
- 21:06Speaker 2: was in charge of doing these things on the front
- 21:09Speaker 2: end would consider these things, if this person was already
- 21:13Speaker 2: on payroll to help help it, then I'd be okay
- 21:17Speaker 2: with it. And I'm a big fan of I'm with you, Trey.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I like fiscal conservatism. I also feel like you can
- 21:24Speaker 2: spend money in a way that would make sense. I'm
- 21:26Speaker 2: pretty sure we could find money for that position by
- 21:30Speaker 2: eliminating something else that's completely dumb and redundant.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Just take a few dollars out of the big guy's paychecks.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I said it.
- 21:38Speaker 5: There you go, it's me. You can send me the emails.
- 21:41Speaker 2: You have to narrow that down.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Uh, which big guy are you talking about?
- 21:48Speaker 2: I wasn't gonna ask it.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Uh, you know, the shareholders, the see the sea the
- 21:54Speaker 5: sea level positions, you know for the inine making. Yeah,
- 21:58Speaker 5: sorry for yeah, it's seduick.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 1: But what needs to happen and where this could be
- 22:05Speaker 1: fixed is you have to go to the state and
- 22:08Speaker 1: they rewrite the workers comp laws and put a clause
- 22:13Speaker 1: in there for first responders.
- 22:15Speaker 4: That changes the scope of things.
- 22:18Speaker 2: That's what I like. The problem though, is getting the
- 22:21Speaker 2: elected visuals to do something exactly, and in order for
- 22:25Speaker 2: them to do something, you have to attach money to
- 22:27Speaker 2: it or hooplah or outrage and some type of crisis. Ironically,
- 22:33Speaker 2: you have to start a fire for a legislator to
- 22:36Speaker 2: make any attempt at putting it out.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I mean they, I mean, Dan, the Texas legislatures work
- 22:43Speaker 1: so hard. I mean they worked six months out of
- 22:45Speaker 1: two years. Fuck, what more do you want out of them?
- 22:51Speaker 2: Just just a little more, just just like ten more minutes.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I'd be a special session.
- 22:58Speaker 8: Goddamn visit shoot me in the Facebook special sessions.

- 24:01Speaker 2: I am so glad it's almost Friday. Uh speaking of
- 24:09Speaker 2: almost Friday, m m mm hmmm. In news that will
- 24:18Speaker 2: not make any Texan feel good, Urkott says the power
- 24:23Speaker 2: grid is ready for the winter storm this weekend. I
- 24:29Speaker 2: don't have a weep, do you?
- 24:38Speaker 11: Urcott says they're ready.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Believe it or not. Urkott says, the power grid is
- 25:00Speaker 2: ready for the winter storm this weekend. Trey, I believe
- 25:06Speaker 2: the fuck?
- 25:12Speaker 1: Why only because it's only going to be like three days.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you what, you know, who feels really
- 25:28Speaker 2: really good about this whole situation, About this winter storm
- 25:32Speaker 2: that is being forecast for Texas. Senator Ted Cruz was
- 25:40Speaker 2: spotted on January twentieth on a plane heading to Laguna
- 25:44Speaker 2: Beach as the state braces for a rare ice threat
- 25:47Speaker 2: and Arctic cold front. Look where there's certain signs that,
- 25:56Speaker 2: once you see them enough, you're like, Okay, we need
- 25:59Speaker 2: to start paying attention to these things. One is tornado warnings,
- 26:03Speaker 2: and two is Ted Cruz on a plane out of
- 26:06Speaker 2: Texas and it's winter.
- 26:08Speaker 5: He's like the pucks, a tunny fill of ice storms.
- 26:11Speaker 2: He's like the ned stark of Texas. Winter is coming
- 26:14Speaker 2: from the friscy flies out of the state. Look, I
- 26:18Speaker 2: look at it this way. I appreciate this new warning
- 26:21Speaker 2: system that Ted Cruse has provided us with. All you
- 26:24Speaker 2: have to do is ask Google. Is Ted Cruz in
- 26:27Speaker 2: Texas right now? Yes, things are fine. If he just left,
- 26:32Speaker 2: shit's about to go sideways.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Did he leave the dog again?
- 26:38Speaker 2: Don't know. It wouldn't surprise me though, if Ted Cruz
- 26:42Speaker 2: put that dog down just because it made him look bad. Trey,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I know it hurts that he's your chopple ganger, So
- 26:54Speaker 2: I know that just it's got a sting. Every time
- 26:58Speaker 2: you see him, You're like, good damn him.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Normally when I see him, he's pandering to the camera.
- 27:04Speaker 1: So That's what really irritates me more than anything else.
- 27:07Speaker 2: And he's proven he can do that from in y
- 27:09Speaker 2: zip code.
- 27:12Speaker 4: That beard help like his beard is awful.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Well, he did what a lot of guys do. He
- 27:20Speaker 2: gained weight, and in order to try to hide the
- 27:23Speaker 2: neck fat, he grew a neck beard. And while it
- 27:27Speaker 2: works on some level, right because you grow the neck
- 27:31Speaker 2: beard over the neck roll of fat and it does
- 27:35Speaker 2: camouflage the flaps and the folds some right, It's true
- 27:40Speaker 2: it does, I get it. But the beard works for
- 27:46Speaker 2: him now. It was that awkward phase when he was
- 27:50Speaker 2: growing it out over like a year and a half
- 27:53Speaker 2: that it just didn't look right and I felt like
- 27:56Speaker 2: they should have put him in the Biden Bunker until
- 27:58Speaker 2: it grew in because I hated watching that transformation in public.
- 28:04Speaker 2: It's like, dude, either just I can't stand the transformation process, Like,
- 28:13Speaker 2: just go away until it's in, then come back. I
- 28:15Speaker 2: don't like looking at it. It was weird. It's like Trey.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Trey knows he can't grow a beard, so he just
- 28:20Speaker 2: doesn't do it. He just shaves, and he also works
- 28:23Speaker 2: out and takes care of himself so he keeps his
- 28:25Speaker 2: sexy jaw line, which Ted Cruz could have done. If
- 28:28Speaker 2: Ted Cruz was to see his better looking twin in Trey,
- 28:32Speaker 2: he would recognize that with a diet of you know,
- 28:36Speaker 2: eating well and exercising and not doing any sort of
- 28:41Speaker 2: enjoyable substances, you too can look like a fifty something
- 28:45Speaker 2: year old Greek god. But he hasn't chosen that route.
- 28:51Speaker 2: He's choosing tacos in Laguna Beach. I would also love
- 28:55Speaker 2: to see a hammered Ted Cruz. I think we do.
- 29:03Speaker 2: This has got to be on film somewhere already. Uh uh. Anyway,
- 29:08Speaker 2: are you guys ready for ice Pocalypse twenty six? Absolutely?
- 29:15Speaker 2: As you take your head side to side into no fashion,
- 29:17Speaker 2: but you say yes, I got groceries coming, so we're
- 29:22Speaker 2: good today, Like are they coming before? Before the storm
- 29:27Speaker 2: supposed to? You're gonna get the groceries delivered?
- 29:29Speaker 4: Yep?
- 29:30Speaker 2: All right? What did you get? What's on what's on
- 29:31Speaker 2: your ice pocalypse grocery list?
- 29:33Speaker 7: Uh?
- 29:34Speaker 3: Just you know, some chicken, some vegetables, sandwich, meat, bread, bottle, water.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Tight coke.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Okay, Trey, are you ready for this?
- 29:48Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 29:48Speaker 1: Yeah, got a couple of cases of water, got all
- 29:52Speaker 1: my lights and battery packs charged up. Uh, got some food.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna make some food just in case they can
- 30:04Speaker 1: eat regardless.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And do you have a brandy coming over to snuggle
- 30:09Speaker 2: up during Snowmageddon? Yes, had a boy.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah it'll be interesting because not only is she coming over,
- 30:16Speaker 1: she's gonna bring her dog.
- 30:17Speaker 2: So that will be a uh uh that's a milestone.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Uh huh, It's gonna be interesting.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Thikes, meeting of the dogs.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It's not meeting of the dogs that I'm really worried about.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I mean, especially at this point, I mean at her
- 30:33Speaker 1: age days. He just didn't give two f's.
- 30:36Speaker 2: It's the cat. Oh yeah, cats are always the X factor. Yeah,
- 30:43Speaker 2: it doesn't matter what scenario you are in, what the
- 30:46Speaker 2: situation is, does not matter. If you want to see
- 30:49Speaker 2: a situation get totally picked up, just throw a cat
- 30:54Speaker 2: right in the middle of it. Think of any situation,
- 30:57Speaker 2: any scenario that seems fine or that seems secure, drop
- 31:03Speaker 2: a cat in the middle of that and just see,
- 31:04Speaker 2: just see the excitement. Like I don't know why. Like
- 31:07Speaker 2: one of the things coming to mind is any sort
- 31:09Speaker 2: of Seal Team six operation is going to be very controlled,
- 31:13Speaker 2: very rehearsed, very very you know good, right, Just imagine
- 31:21Speaker 2: if when they busted into Ben Ladden's compound, if there
- 31:24Speaker 2: was a cat dropped in the middle of it.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Well especially, I mean, and I've got a fat orange
- 31:30Speaker 1: tabby that has, for some reason has some PTSD issues
- 31:33Speaker 1: that make him just an absolute wild card. I mean,
- 31:36Speaker 1: one minute I'm petting him, the next minute he's drawing blood.
- 31:39Speaker 1: And so yeah, it's gonna be.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Just, it's gonna be just are you listening, Yeah, are
- 31:45Speaker 2: you sure that cat isn't Al Qaeda and wasn't in
- 31:48Speaker 2: Ben Ladden's compound and was just sent over here as
- 31:50Speaker 2: part of the operation. Like after they kicked Ben Laden
- 31:53Speaker 2: into the ocean from the chopper, they're like, oh, I'm y'ao.
- 31:58Speaker 2: We'll take him back to Texas, Operation Chaos. We'll give
- 32:03Speaker 2: it to Senator Cruz. Oh wait, that was Trey.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Honestly, they could have probably just dropped Julius into beIN
- 32:13Speaker 1: Lauden's compound and he would have gotten him just his
- 32:16Speaker 1: eyes out.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, you don't need a flash bang, You just
- 32:19Speaker 2: need Julius to cut.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Kick open the doors on the floor. Bloody pulp. Okay,
- 32:26Speaker 5: it's making biscuits in him.
- 32:30Speaker 1: And that's no joke because Julius does not understand retracting claws,
- 32:35Speaker 1: so when a lot of times when he's making biscuits,
- 32:37Speaker 1: it's full claws out.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, right on that soft underbelly. All right, so
- 32:45Speaker 2: you get away while he's doing it as arterial sprays.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Just love, love, loving every second of it. Yeah, all right,
- 32:56Speaker 2: good well, I'm glad you guys are ready for What
- 33:00Speaker 2: about you?
- 33:00Speaker 1: Dan? Are you you bracing?
- 33:03Speaker 4: What is he gonna get in the seventies? Now?
- 33:05Speaker 2: Hang on, let me check the forecast. I got to
- 33:09Speaker 2: check the forecast to see what we're expecting Friday into Saturday.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Ooh we have we have a chance of rain and.
- 33:21Speaker 4: A high of eighty Oh oh, chili.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be a chili one for us. The
- 33:28Speaker 2: weird thing is is that all the problems we had
- 33:31Speaker 2: in twenty twenty one with our home from the storm,
- 33:34Speaker 2: then from that winter storm we moved twenty two hundred
- 33:38Speaker 2: miles away. We've got a solar backup. We've got like
- 33:42Speaker 2: forty two solar panels and a liquid propane power generator
- 33:47Speaker 2: as the third backup.
- 33:50Speaker 4: I hope a hurricane hits you, just a random one
- 33:53Speaker 4: just out of nowhere.
- 33:55Speaker 6: That's called a tornado, Raj, We're gonna be freezing to
- 34:05Speaker 6: death and you guys are gonna be on the beach.
- 34:08Speaker 1: No, it's supposed it's I've got a fifty percent chance
- 34:11Speaker 1: of rain, Raj.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I mean, oh sorry, Yeah, that'll probably happen. Yeah, that'll
- 34:16Speaker 2: probably happen in the morning. And and Jerry's right, all
- 34:19Speaker 2: I gotta do is just pull the cabanas shade over
- 34:22Speaker 2: a little bit more and that'll solve any sort of
- 34:24Speaker 2: rain problems.
- 34:27Speaker 4: I mean the I mean you look.
- 34:28Speaker 1: At the weather app and you look at Dan's weather,
- 34:32Speaker 1: I mean it is volatile. It ranges from highs of
- 34:36Speaker 1: eighty five to eighty six and lows to seventy five
- 34:39Speaker 1: to seventy six. I mean, I don't know how you
- 34:41Speaker 1: deal with that.
- 34:42Speaker 2: That's a that's a that's an eleven. Sometimes it's an eleven,
- 34:45Speaker 2: sometimes a twelve degree change in twenty five. By the way, Raj,
- 34:53Speaker 2: if you ever want to look up and download the
- 34:55Speaker 2: weather app here in the Virgin Islands, it's just two
- 34:57Speaker 2: big middle fingers and they just happen to be on
- 35:04Speaker 2: my hands. They kind of look like a v and
- 35:13Speaker 2: then yeah, for all things Treehouse Treehouse on air dot
