- 0:30Speaker 1: We should just do that for every day.
- 0:31Speaker 5: I probably should.
- 0:32Speaker 4: I don't know why it started off as a Friday thing.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Right then it's like, you know, what, mind ever matter
- 0:36Speaker 4: on Mondays? We gotta get hype from Monday. Yeah, truth is,
- 0:39Speaker 4: we need to get hype for every day.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Oh, you're actually very correct in that, you know, do it.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's not easy to start the day and just to
- 0:47Speaker 1: wake up.
- 0:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and we've also kind of forgot what day it
- 0:49Speaker 5: is sometimes during the summer. So now it's back to school.
- 0:52Speaker 5: We got to figure it out.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Absolutely every day.
- 0:54Speaker 4: It's mix one of two point nine A Billy the Kid,
- 0:56Speaker 4: Candice Lopez is here, Producer Poo is here.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You said back to school, Oh it is back to school.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Yeah, shout out to Plano going back to school today,
- 1:03Speaker 4: Dallas going back to school today. By the way, Pooh
- 1:06Speaker 4: gave me an entire list of almost every Plano school.
- 1:09Speaker 5: That was so thoughtful. Boo.
- 1:10Speaker 4: You know he knows I love a good list, and
- 1:13Speaker 4: he's like, let me give him a list of every
- 1:15Speaker 4: high school, every middle school, every elementary, but only in Plano.
- 1:20Speaker 4: So but not even every Plano, not every Plano school,
- 1:23Speaker 4: only the ones he likes.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Oh well, that's cool. Number one on the list, number one.
- 1:28Speaker 4: What elementary middle school? Because he's got a broken down Yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 4: elementary number one. He has duly at number one.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Oh wow, So if you go to the other schools,
- 1:37Speaker 1: he said, you suck. I'm just kidding, but.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Yeah, no Plano going back to school today, Irving Prosper's
- 1:46Speaker 4: mesquite back today to oh wow, the Skeeter's going back today.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Canda Slowpez, how are.
- 1:53Speaker 5: You back to school?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Guys?
- 1:55Speaker 5: We had meet the teacher last night? You did, Yeah,
- 1:57Speaker 5: Apparently we were kind of mistaken in the mom chad
- 2:00Speaker 5: about who had who because our kids are switching classes
- 2:03Speaker 5: in third grade, so we had two teachers. Well we
- 2:07Speaker 5: thought we all had the same two teachers, which we do,
- 2:10Speaker 5: but some of our kids start in one of the
- 2:11Speaker 5: teachers and other kids started the other teacher, so it
- 2:15Speaker 5: was very confusing to have the two teacher names, but
- 2:18Speaker 5: homeroom is only one of them.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm confused right now.
- 2:20Speaker 5: I know our kids got separated, basically is the point
- 2:23Speaker 5: some of them got separated. So Enzo is in a
- 2:26Speaker 5: different room than two of his buddies. Then he's been
- 2:28Speaker 5: going up.
- 2:29Speaker 1: That's a big deal.
- 2:30Speaker 5: It was a big deal. And yesterday I saw one
- 2:33Speaker 5: of his teachers from last year. She was in his
- 2:35Speaker 5: homeroom class when we walked into the new teacher and
- 2:38Speaker 5: I just lost it. I started balling, you did. I
- 2:41Speaker 5: could not believe it. I was like, what's happening to me?
- 2:44Speaker 5: She was like, I don't know, just third grade. I'm
- 2:46Speaker 5: gonna get emotional.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Now.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Third grade just hits different. I don't know what it is.
- 2:49Speaker 5: They switched classes. I don't know any of these teachers.
- 2:52Speaker 5: And before last year, I know last year, I was like,
- 2:57Speaker 5: I know this one teacher. She's our neighbor. She to
- 3:00Speaker 5: go to city streets with us back in the day.
- 3:04Speaker 5: We're best friends, right we yeah, we know are So
- 3:09Speaker 5: I always felt safe because she was there, And this
- 3:12Speaker 5: year I just saw her and I lost it. She's like,
- 3:14Speaker 5: I'm here for you. It was like this whole moment,
- 3:16Speaker 5: I was like, why am.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I the only one, right, well, the only one.
- 3:19Speaker 4: I'm sure they were other moms cry, Yeah, for sure,
- 3:21Speaker 4: they just maybe do it at different times.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I just didn't expect myself to cry in the classroom.
- 3:26Speaker 5: It's okay, Yeah, I'm so emotional.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Yesterday, Oh you know what it happens. First of all,
- 3:31Speaker 4: that's just a time too. Different grades hit you different. Yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 4: you know, like for whatever reason, middle school my son.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I was like yeah, whatever, yeah, whatever. Then yesterday, Oh
- 3:41Speaker 4: he's about to start freshman year in high school today, Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 4: and I'm rattled.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm like, wait, I have a high school kid.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that means why, like only four more years and
- 3:51Speaker 4: he's going to do his own don't make me cry, camp.
- 3:55Speaker 5: I probably will because I'm so fragile right now. And
- 3:58Speaker 5: then he starts tomorrow and I won't be there. I'm
- 4:00Speaker 5: just having a whole, a whole thing.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We need to snap out of it. Yeah, what do
- 4:04Speaker 1: we do? This? Off not help now. I'm feeling better now,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I automatically, yeah, but.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Somebody send me some positive energy that this is going
- 4:13Speaker 5: to be a great school year.
- 4:14Speaker 1: It's going to be a good school year. So and
- 4:16Speaker 1: it's okay to cry. I mean, you know, listen. You
- 4:18Speaker 1: got to do that.
- 4:18Speaker 4: You got to get out of your system sometimes too show.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I cry every day, Yeah, at least twice a day,
- 4:23Speaker 4: maybe three times.
- 4:24Speaker 5: I cried multiple times yesterday and I'll probably do it tomorrow.
- 4:27Speaker 4: So you want to cry, you want to do a
- 4:29Speaker 4: seven to twenty cry off if you want seven twenty,
- 4:33Speaker 4: let's see you can cry louder.
- 4:34Speaker 1: What's to join us on the show? All right, producer,
- 4:37Speaker 1: what's up with you? I almost cried yesterday. I was
- 4:40Speaker 1: shopping for my fourteen year old.
- 4:42Speaker 7: He decided to take photo journalism, so he needed a
- 4:46Speaker 7: new camera.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Those things cost It's like Bryan a brand new car.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I was like, y'all don't have Klarna or a firm
- 4:53Speaker 1: or something. Yeah, and it makes the papers. I went
- 4:56Speaker 1: to best Buy. I was like, yeah, why don't they
- 5:00Speaker 1: give him a camera?
- 5:01Speaker 7: No, no, no, you can you can opt out of
- 5:03Speaker 7: that because the camera they give you is not like,
- 5:05Speaker 7: oh it's not worth well, it's laptop.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Why.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I want to tell you why. You'll get the job done.
- 5:12Speaker 1: You don't have to pay for it.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, no, that's true.
- 5:14Speaker 4: I'm just throwing that out there. I'm not about to
- 5:16Speaker 4: try to spend a bunch of money. If you know
- 5:18Speaker 4: now you got eighteen payments on it, you're upside down
- 5:20Speaker 4: in your camera.
- 5:21Speaker 7: Well, thank god, I got a sister who got good
- 5:23Speaker 7: credit and she's, uh, she's going and have he's with me,
- 5:26Speaker 7: So I'm gonna get him as not why.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I say if I win the lotto that his sister's
- 5:32Speaker 4: getting money. Right, This is exactly why.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Morgan's the one that's gonna handle your monopoly.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Handle my money. I just don't have none. Now you
- 5:44Speaker 1: can handle other people's money, I can handle your money.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Tas Top stories on the Tents with Billy's a Kid in.
- 5:53Speaker 8: The Morning only on the New Mixed one or two
- 5:56Speaker 8: point nine.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Your Shots to go to Disneyland coming up next. First
- 5:59Speaker 4: Texas Stories Candi Slowpez, what's up?
- 6:01Speaker 5: Yeah? Well, like we mentioned, it's back to school for
- 6:03Speaker 5: more than thirty five districts today. Welcome back Dallas, Plano, Mesquite,
- 6:07Speaker 5: Grand Prairie, Irving, Carrollton. All of you headed back today.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Please watch out for school zones. They are in effect.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Have you seen that dad that's going viral for his
- 6:16Speaker 5: first day of school outfit? So I guess he does
- 6:19Speaker 5: this every year, and yesterday he was taking his daughter
- 6:22Speaker 5: to school and he was dressed in like an eighties
- 6:24Speaker 5: fitness instructor outfit. Well, I guess he does this to
- 6:29Speaker 5: try and help her feel more at ease going back
- 6:32Speaker 5: to school, and just to kind of inspire kids to
- 6:34Speaker 5: laugh at themselves and build confidence. But the picture is
- 6:37Speaker 5: starting to go viral. He's in like this bright neon
- 6:40Speaker 5: green like tank top that's tight and like leggings and
- 6:43Speaker 5: shorts and a headband.
- 6:44Speaker 4: My son would kill me. Oh yeah, my son would
- 6:47Speaker 4: be like, Dad, what are you doing right? So, but
- 6:50Speaker 4: you know what, it's a good point. You should laugh
- 6:52Speaker 4: at yourself.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Yeah, trust me.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I know there's bullies out there and stuff. I'm gonna
- 6:56Speaker 4: tell you right now. One day you're gonna look back. Kids,
- 6:58Speaker 4: if you're listening, you're gonna look back and be why
- 7:00Speaker 4: did I care right what anyone thought of me?
- 7:03Speaker 5: Right? And why did some people? Why did I care
- 7:05Speaker 5: to bully people? You know, I think some bullies come
- 7:07Speaker 5: out of it eventual and they're like, man, what was
- 7:09Speaker 5: I doing? I'm so sorry? Yeah, but again I think
- 7:12Speaker 5: I said this, you know, last year. But please talk
- 7:14Speaker 5: to your kids about bullying and how we treat each other,
- 7:16Speaker 5: because it's super super important, but hopefully everyone has a
- 7:19Speaker 5: great school year. So I'm gonna return the positive energy, guys. Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 5: and the city of Plano, guys, has voted to call
- 7:26Speaker 5: an election to decide on venue taxes to fund the
- 7:29Speaker 5: new Dallas Stars Arena where shops at Willowbend is right now,
- 7:33Speaker 5: These proposed taxes would not impact residential property taxes, just
- 7:37Speaker 5: venue transaction, so we're talking about things like car rental taxes,
- 7:42Speaker 5: hotel occupancy taxes, event parking stuff. Several residents did show
- 7:47Speaker 5: up last night though, at this meeting to share their concerns.
- 7:50Speaker 5: This November election, though, is to vote on the venue
- 7:53Speaker 5: taxes only, not a final decision on if the arena
- 7:57Speaker 5: will be built. But some people are asking, can you
- 8:00Speaker 5: guys just put all this on pause, Like this is
- 8:02Speaker 5: moving way too fast. We haven't really talked about traffic noise.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Just you know what this actually means. It's going to
- 8:07Speaker 5: be a Plano It is going to.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Be a lot and I live right by there, yeah,
- 8:11Speaker 4: I mean, I mean that's on my way to work,
- 8:13Speaker 4: it's on my way home.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I don't think what they're thinking about is like the
- 8:16Speaker 4: Stars season is one thing, but there's no way they're
- 8:19Speaker 4: going to be able to, you know, keep that venue
- 8:21Speaker 4: alive without doing other things there. Yeah, so this is
- 8:24Speaker 4: all year there's going to be a multitude of traffic,
- 8:28Speaker 4: right that that is not designed for that.
- 8:31Speaker 5: No, and that's kind of what people are saying, like, yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 5: we're calling this a Dallas Stars venue, but like you said,
- 8:36Speaker 5: this is year round traffic, year round noise, just a
- 8:40Speaker 5: disruption of you know, life as people know it in
- 8:42Speaker 5: that area. So they really are saying, can we take
- 8:44Speaker 5: a step back, But this election is going to go
- 8:46Speaker 5: forward in November for the venue taxes only.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I mean it's going to happen. Yeah, it feels like
- 8:51Speaker 1: it's going to happen.
- 8:51Speaker 5: I mean it does.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Mad about it.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I just wish they would have designed the area better
- 8:56Speaker 4: for something like that, right, but it just never no
- 9:00Speaker 4: one ever guessed one day we're going to knock down
- 9:02Speaker 4: Willow Band and the Stars are.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Going to play exactly exactly. I'll keep you posted though,
- 9:07Speaker 5: for sure.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Guys.
- 9:08Speaker 5: For the first time in fifteen years, seven up is
- 9:11Speaker 5: changing its recipe. The new version. My god, why do
- 9:16Speaker 5: you hear this?
- 9:16Speaker 1: Though?
- 9:17Speaker 5: The new version is going to be in store suit
- 9:19Speaker 5: Are you ready for this?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 9:20Speaker 5: So It's time to let lime shine, guys. Instead of
- 9:24Speaker 5: lemon lime soda, it will soon be lime lemon soda.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I'm so irritate. I'm so mad.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 5: So it's also going to get new packaging with a
- 9:35Speaker 5: vertical logo. People who have tasted it say you can
- 9:37Speaker 5: barely tell.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So there's more. There's literally more lime than lemon.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Now, yes, it's going to just barely tip over to
- 9:44Speaker 5: be more lime than lemon. So that's the big change
- 9:48Speaker 5: from lemon lime soda.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I got a better question. Who's out here buying seven Up?
- 9:53Speaker 4: I couldn't tell you, And I'm just being honest because
- 9:56Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever bought a seven up.
- 9:58Speaker 5: You know, when I buy it is and my stomach
- 10:00Speaker 5: is upset exactly. Really yeah, I drink a seven up.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I go to a ginger Ale. Really yeah, I go
- 10:06Speaker 4: to a ginger Ale before I go to a seven up.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I mean, now that I've I'm into ginger all, now
- 10:11Speaker 5: that I lived in Canada, I like the Canada to dry. Yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 5: ginger All, but seven up is the go to.
- 10:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I drink soda, though, I mean not really.
- 10:18Speaker 5: I have a couple of SIPs of someone's diet coke
- 10:21Speaker 5: if it's there.
- 10:21Speaker 4: But I didn't know that your husband, Eric is a
- 10:23Speaker 4: diet coke addict. Yeah, yeah, which is surprising that you.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Let that in your house.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Well, he quit for a while and not and now
- 10:33Speaker 5: suddenly it's back. But when his family was here last
- 10:35Speaker 5: week we were starting to actually notice. They said, do
- 10:38Speaker 5: you know that he had two diet cokes at breakfast
- 10:41Speaker 5: after his coffee and then tea, and then Dike Perks
- 10:44Speaker 5: for dinner. Yeah, yeah, it's yeah, it's an issue, not.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Even a crispy like McDonald's. Dike.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Well, I know now that school is going to start
- 10:52Speaker 5: up tomorrow, he's going to be dropping off and then
- 10:54Speaker 5: whipping through the drive through McDonald's for that crispy soda. Yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 5: it's probably gonna happen.
- 11:00Speaker 1: It happened, you know, one day at a time, Eric
- 11:03Speaker 1: listening YREK. One day at a time. You got this.
- 11:05Speaker 1: But I know addiction is real.
- 11:06Speaker 5: Oh no, it is so hey loose for sure.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I struggled with DC for a while.
- 11:12Speaker 5: Yeah, No, the DC addiction is hardcore.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Then I justified it with coke zero. Oh yeah, I
- 11:17Speaker 1: know he won't do that. Yeah, you really got me
- 11:20Speaker 1: on the coke zero. I like coke zero. Now, I
- 11:22Speaker 1: never like coke zero is just a gateway drug.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Yeah, don't do it, don't do any of them.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 11:28Speaker 5: All right, I'll let him know that. You guys want
- 11:30Speaker 5: an intervention for sure. I canna slow Pez. Those are
- 11:33Speaker 5: your Texas top stories.
- 11:34Speaker 8: Something new, Mixed one o two point nine.
- 11:37Speaker 4: I don't need to look at the temperature. It's gonna
- 11:39Speaker 4: be hot today. I don't even need to.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Look at the weather.
- 11:41Speaker 5: You know what I was driving in and the and
- 11:43Speaker 5: the Reni and ball read and tower. The ball was
- 11:45Speaker 5: like a fan blades going this morning.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I was like calling us down, thank you, bring your
- 11:50Speaker 4: talent for that. I knew I felt something different.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Good. It's mixed one o two point nine.
- 11:54Speaker 4: It's gonna be hot today though like triple digit Sonny,
- 11:57Speaker 4: it's back to school time.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.
- 11:59Speaker 4: By the time you get out of school're gonna be
- 12:00Speaker 4: sweaty and a hot mess. Oh yeah, okay, that's the
- 12:03Speaker 4: forecast right there, and it's gonna be the same until December.
- 12:06Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid. Candice slow Paz is your producer.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Who is here?
- 12:08Speaker 4: We got really fake news? First first call of the day.

- 13:31Speaker 1: No, what's going on? I had to pull me out
- 13:33Speaker 1: of the car too.
- 13:34Speaker 5: It is a quaint little town.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Though it is a quaint little town, they know everybody. Yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 4: so when they saw me, they're like, who is this dude?
- 13:41Speaker 1: Pull him over? Immediately I got searched. It was kind
- 13:44Speaker 1: of nice.

- 14:17Speaker 4: a back to school photo.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Headline number three.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Wedding photographer accidentally live streams entire reception to wrong Facebook group.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Wedding photographer accidentally live streams entire reception to the wrong
- 14:33Speaker 4: Facebook group.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Three headlines right there. You gotta tell me which one
- 14:36Speaker 1: do you think is the fake one? Candice one yesterday?
- 14:40Speaker 5: Did you Yeah? Yeah, I did yesterday.
- 14:42Speaker 1: You won yesterday. Let's see if you can do two
- 14:44Speaker 1: days in a row. Do you want to guess? First?
- 14:45Speaker 1: You want to pass to poo poo.
- 14:47Speaker 5: I'm gonna pass it to the poop poo today.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Oh, okay, pooh, first pick is you.
- 14:52Speaker 7: I'm gonna go with that second story and the kid
- 14:54Speaker 7: getting arrested for refusing to take a photo.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Okay, got it. You want to lock that lock it in?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Lock it in, all right? You think that's fake? Which
- 15:05Speaker 1: one do you think is the fake story?
- 15:07Speaker 5: Lock me for that last story, streaming the wedding reception
- 15:09Speaker 5: of the wrong group. You think that, yeah, lock that in.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You sure you want to lock that in?
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yeah? I think so.
- 15:14Speaker 1: All right, let's lock it in. And the winner today is.
- 15:19Speaker 4: She's backs Lopez is our winner today.
- 15:24Speaker 1: How did you know? I thought that one was gonna
- 15:26Speaker 1: get you.
- 15:27Speaker 5: I don't know. I just had a feeling, man, Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 5: that's the fake story.
- 15:31Speaker 4: The wedding photographer accidentally live streaming the entire reception to
- 15:34Speaker 4: the wrong Facebook group.
- 15:35Speaker 1: That's fake. The real stories.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Kind of surprised me the real story today, because I
- 15:40Speaker 4: thought you were going to pick this one as the
- 15:42Speaker 4: fake story.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But it's real.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Nearly one third of Americans admit to shoplifting.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Yeah. The only reason I thought that was real is
- 15:50Speaker 5: because the last two times I've been to a big
- 15:53Speaker 5: what the big box store. Yeah, I won't say any names,
- 15:56Speaker 5: there was a theft happening.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I'll say names, yeah, Walmart maybe. Okay, Well, I say
- 16:04Speaker 4: that because it's part of this story.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Really.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah, So thirty percent of Americans admit to having shoplifted.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Now that's not like fifty percent, but it's still pretty
- 16:12Speaker 4: big if you ask me. That's more than last year though.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Last year twenty three percent admitted. So wow, we're up
- 16:21Speaker 4: seven percent. And people are saying, yeah, we're shoplifted more
- 16:24Speaker 4: because we can't afford things exactly. So nine and ten
- 16:29Speaker 4: say inflation are to blame of why they stole. The
- 16:33Speaker 4: crazy part is what we have started stealing. And I'm
- 16:36Speaker 4: not saying stealing is right at all. I definitely not
- 16:39Speaker 4: don't steal, but it's it's went from like luxury items
- 16:43Speaker 4: to necessities what groceries.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Yes, Oh, people are in a bad place.
- 16:49Speaker 4: We're in a bad place. People are stealing groceries. Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 4: twenty nine percent of people have used short term loans
- 16:56Speaker 4: to buy groceries.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Oh, that's it.
- 17:00Speaker 1: That's up fourteen percent from like two years ago.
- 17:03Speaker 6: You know.
- 17:04Speaker 4: And the top stores that they're stealing from Walmart number one, yeah,
- 17:08Speaker 4: Family Dollar and Kroger Wow.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 4: And people are they're really stealing necessities, personal hygiene items.
- 17:18Speaker 1: That's like big in the list groceries. What are we doing?
- 17:22Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, we got to figure this out.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to do something. I mean, people can't
- 17:26Speaker 4: afford to eat. Like everything's going up in price, but
- 17:28Speaker 4: people's salaries aren't going up in price.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Right, It's just it's a lot. So not to get
- 17:32Speaker 1: too serious, but it makes me sad.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Yeah, me too, makes me angry.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Now I gotta go steal sweet potatoes, right, I'm stuffing
- 17:39Speaker 4: sweet potatoes in my pants.
- 17:41Speaker 3: No, please don't again, all right.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Fifth grader got quote unquote arrested for refusing to back
- 17:48Speaker 4: to school photo. This is an interesting story. It happened
- 17:51Speaker 4: in Colorado. A mother named Amanda. She wanted to take
- 17:56Speaker 4: a back to school photo of her son.
- 17:57Speaker 1: He wouldn't do it. He's like, no, No.
- 18:00Speaker 4: She sees a cop on the way to school and
- 18:02Speaker 4: she's like, well, if you don't take a picture, he's
- 18:04Speaker 4: going to arrest you. No, pulls over, tells the cop
- 18:08Speaker 4: what's going on, and the cop fake arrests him. What
- 18:12Speaker 4: even puts handcuffs on This kid traumatized and.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Back to school.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I thought. People are laughing about it.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I'm like, this is a little too much, I think.
- 18:23Speaker 4: So this kid's on the side of the road and
- 18:25Speaker 4: cuffs and there's pictures. Now he's back to school pictures
- 18:27Speaker 4: and get locked up.
- 18:28Speaker 5: That's awful.
- 18:29Speaker 4: And now one day he might laugh at it, don't
- 18:31Speaker 4: get me wrong. Yeah, or this kid could be like,
- 18:33Speaker 4: now I'm terrified of cops.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, like you know cops.
- 18:37Speaker 1: A lot of cops I talked to because I used
- 18:39Speaker 1: to kind of train with them.
- 18:40Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they still call you from town to town. Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Every once while they'll call me for advice.
- 18:47Speaker 4: They hit me up there, like, we don't like being
- 18:49Speaker 4: painted as the bad guys the kids, right, you know,
- 18:51Speaker 4: because they're like scared that we don't want them to
- 18:54Speaker 4: hate us, right, But this cop played along and sometimes
- 18:56Speaker 4: it's funny. But yes, some people online were very mad.
- 18:59Speaker 4: They're like, are you serious? Why do you have this
- 19:01Speaker 4: kid on the side of the road and he's crying.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Of course he is, like, I mean, back to school
- 19:08Speaker 4: photos do suck when you're a kid.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Just take them for your mom. You're gonna want to
- 19:13Speaker 5: see him later. How many times right now do we
- 19:15Speaker 5: need like an old throwback picture to laugh at.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Our Trust me, kids, you're gonna want these one day.
- 19:21Speaker 4: But when you're a fred like my son's a freshman,
- 19:23Speaker 4: and I know probably right now, the battles starting.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Mom, are you serious right now? I'm not sign.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Stand by the tree, rider, stand by the tree, stand
- 19:37Speaker 4: by the tree and hold his sign first day, and
- 19:39Speaker 4: then we're gonna do it last.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Day, on the last day exactly.
- 19:41Speaker 4: But Mom, I'm fifteen. Cat, you just do it for you,
- 19:45Speaker 4: Just do it for your mom. Writer, if you're listening,
- 19:47Speaker 4: shut up and do it.
- 19:48Speaker 8: Do it.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna have you arrested.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Baility kid. Candice Slopez is your producer.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Poo is here.
- 19:54Speaker 4: We were just talking about this kid who got quote
- 19:56Speaker 4: unquote arrested for now wanting to take it back to
- 19:58Speaker 4: school photo, and it just sparked a little memory for
- 20:01Speaker 4: me because I really thought that your mom could just
- 20:04Speaker 4: have you arrested for no reason, right, you know, like
- 20:07Speaker 4: if you do something or you don't clean your room,
- 20:09Speaker 4: the cops will come.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I can always call the police.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Yeah right, and they're there for that kind of stuff. Yeah,
- 20:16Speaker 4: when you're a kid, you believe crazy stuff. What crazy
- 20:18Speaker 4: thing did you believe as a kid? Because I have
- 20:21Speaker 4: one that I thought for sure if I did this
- 20:25Speaker 4: in the car, I was absolutely going to get arrested
- 20:27Speaker 4: and taken to jail. What if I turned down the
- 20:30Speaker 4: interior car light? Oh yeah, Oh you don't understand. I
- 20:35Speaker 4: thought my mom, Billy, you better turn that off. Why
- 20:40Speaker 4: that's illegal?
- 20:41Speaker 1: You can't have that on. I was like, oh my,
- 20:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Yeah, And probably until I was eighteen, I thought I
- 20:47Speaker 4: was going to jail if I had that light on.
- 20:50Speaker 1: What silly thing did you believe?
- 20:52Speaker 4: Let me know eight three three seven eight seven, one
- 20:54Speaker 4: oh two nine, or you can always hit me up
- 20:56Speaker 4: on Instagram too. It is at Billy on the radio,
- 20:58Speaker 4: people are just starting a dmy silly ones. They have cannice.
- 21:01Speaker 1: What about you? Do you believe some ridiculous when you
- 21:03Speaker 1: were a kid.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Well, I'm still trying to hold on to this one
- 21:05Speaker 5: about you know, if you chew gum, it's gonna stay
- 21:07Speaker 5: in your stomach for like seven years. That's true if
- 21:10Speaker 5: you're listening in though, because he's just gotten into eating
- 21:14Speaker 5: gum or chewing gum.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Don't let her tell you that. Let me tell you
- 21:18Speaker 1: something that's not real. I eat my gum all the time.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Look at me.
- 21:22Speaker 4: I'm fine. Yeah, no, don't eat your gum, kids, But
- 21:24Speaker 4: it doesn't stay in there seven years.
- 21:26Speaker 5: I know you're gonna get rid of it a few days,
- 21:29Speaker 5: but still don't swallow it.
- 21:30Speaker 4: I totally believe that, though too. I kid, too poo,
- 21:33Speaker 4: did you believe something ridiculous.
- 21:34Speaker 7: As a kid, My grandma used to tell me sitting
- 21:36Speaker 7: too close to the TV, you're gonna go blind.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Now I still think that's true.
- 21:40Speaker 5: I mean a version of blind.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It can't be good for you.
- 21:43Speaker 4: No, some of the ones that people are dming me
- 21:46Speaker 4: at Billy on the radio, feel free at Billy on
- 21:48Speaker 4: the radio.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Oh, this is hysterical.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I used to believe that when your luggage went on
- 21:53Speaker 4: a conveyor belt at the airport, that your luggage was
- 21:56Speaker 4: going straight to its destination on that belt.
- 22:01Speaker 5: That's hilarious.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I never thought about that because it.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Just goes behind that curtain and it's like, well, yeah,
- 22:07Speaker 5: I get to.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It's taking the belt there, Yeah, I'm taking the plane.
- 22:10Speaker 5: I want to take the belt.
- 22:11Speaker 4: I love to take the belt. Here's another one. Oh,
- 22:15Speaker 4: this is hysterical. The waves. I believe that the waves
- 22:19Speaker 4: in the ocean came from whales slapping their tails on top.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Of the water.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Oh.
- 22:24Speaker 5: That's because we watched Free Willie growing up.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Free Whaley.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Yeah, the whale movie Slap his tail and all the waves.
- 22:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Yeah, it was on the cover of the video.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Oh I do remember that movie.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Remember the tape.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Yes, I didn't watch the tape, Granny, Granny Lopez, now
- 22:47Speaker 4: explain to the kids, what a VHS tape? Oh, okay,
- 22:52Speaker 4: what about this one? I convinced. I was convinced the
- 22:57Speaker 4: moon followed our car everywhere because it had a crush
- 23:01Speaker 4: on my mom.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Cute.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I love that, settled down your mind? That fine? I
- 23:11Speaker 1: love that.
- 23:12Speaker 4: No moms are I'm loving that. The mom probably said that, oh,
- 23:14Speaker 4: the moon's following me because I'm hot. Yeah, oh, I
- 23:18Speaker 4: believe that. I thought, if you say good night, if
- 23:20Speaker 4: I say good night to my stuffed animals, if I didn't,
- 23:23Speaker 4: they would be sad and never talk to me again.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Oh man, that's good, that's very cute. What silly thing
- 23:30Speaker 1: did you believe? As a kid.
- 23:31Speaker 4: I was convinced that my grandparents house was a magical
- 23:34Speaker 4: place because it always smelled like cookies and they always
- 23:37Speaker 4: let me have as many as I wanted. Your great listen,
- 23:40Speaker 4: Your grandparents place is a magical place. It is there
- 23:43Speaker 4: is something special about it. It was always too hot
- 23:46Speaker 4: in there, Oh my god, it was. Oh yeah, it
- 23:53Speaker 4: was like an inferno in my grandparents house. As soon
- 23:57Speaker 4: as I got there, I'd want to fall asleep as
- 23:59Speaker 4: i'd eat all.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You know what.
- 24:00Speaker 4: I just had this random memory of you know what
- 24:03Speaker 4: my grandparents always had a bowl of when I was
- 24:05Speaker 4: a kid.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Do you remember Circus peanuts?
- 24:08Speaker 6: Oh?
- 24:09Speaker 5: Yeah, those orange those sticky candy.
- 24:12Speaker 4: There, Yes, yeah, but I would eat them till I
- 24:17Speaker 4: got sick.
- 24:17Speaker 5: That's weird.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Why was I eating those?
- 24:20Speaker 5: Because there was nothing else?
- 24:21Speaker 1: Didn't you stick those up your nose?
- 24:23Speaker 5: No, actual peanuts?
- 24:25Speaker 4: Okay, grow up stuff, real peanuts in my nose. You
- 24:32Speaker 4: had to be taken to the e R right by
- 24:34Speaker 4: the way. I could fit nine up there.
- 24:37Speaker 8: If mix one o two point nine, Tough Stories on
- 24:45Speaker 8: the Tents with Billy the Kid in the morning only

- 24:53Speaker 4: that also too, It's back to school for a lot
- 24:54Speaker 4: of people today.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I know Dallas is obviously a big one.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Yeah for sure.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Plain. Oh and what we're doing my pickup line.
- 25:01Speaker 4: So if you are in the drop off line, pickup

- 25:22Speaker 4: we you know, if we pick the car line because
- 25:24Speaker 4: of you, then of course you're gonna get hooked up
- 25:26Speaker 4: for sure, So make sure you do that. Tag is
- 25:28Speaker 4: at Mix one O two nine FM. And Candice Lopez
- 25:30Speaker 4: what is going on?
- 25:31Speaker 5: Yeah? Well, also welcome back to school, Crowley ISD. Prosper Alito.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Like you mentioned Dallas ISD of course the biggest heading
- 25:38Speaker 5: back today. Hot again, we do have a heat advisory.
- 25:42Speaker 5: It is going to be around ninety six by lunchtime,
- 25:44Speaker 5: around one oh one. By the end of your school day,
- 25:47Speaker 5: that's going to feel closer to one oh six. So
- 25:49Speaker 5: just a heads up. Oh god, yeah, I'm not realizing
- 25:52Speaker 5: how like quote unquote mild last summer was.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess it was.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Yeah, we only had like seven or eight triple digit days.
- 25:59Speaker 5: We're well over that already.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and I know that we had some rain this
- 26:02Speaker 4: past Saturday in some areas, but not enough that we needed.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it literally rained on us for maybe thirty seconds.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Yes, it's like, yay, it was hard to get into
- 26:11Speaker 4: football because, like you know, I want to get I'm
- 26:13Speaker 4: going to go to high school games and whatnot.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Friday night lights, but it's so sweaty and nasty.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. It'll be here before you know it though.
- 26:20Speaker 5: Hang on, ty guys, remember last week I told you
- 26:23Speaker 5: about that one of one Cooper Flag rookie debut patch
- 26:26Speaker 5: autograph card the MAVs were looking for. It has officially
- 26:30Speaker 5: been found in Rhode Island. So yeah, the MAVs were
- 26:34Speaker 5: offering a whole bounty for the card season tickets. This
- 26:37Speaker 5: crazy package of memorabilia and experiences stuff money can't buy.
- 26:43Speaker 5: So Roadie Breakers, which is a division of Baseball Cards
- 26:46Speaker 5: of Rhode Island, I guess they open trading card boxes
- 26:49Speaker 5: for customers during their live streams.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Yeah, they pulled the card during a live break last night.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Of course.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Yeah, of course it's a it's a card shop that
- 26:58Speaker 4: gets it. That's why it's like sometimes it's so frustrating
- 27:01Speaker 4: because I used to love collecting cards. Yeah, but when
- 27:04Speaker 4: you're a kid and you're like a teenager, I can't
- 27:06Speaker 4: compete with all these stores that buy all the cards
- 27:09Speaker 4: and then they pull them.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Yeah, but they're pulling it for a customer. Is that
- 27:12Speaker 5: how it works? So someone's bought the pack and then
- 27:14Speaker 5: they open it live and.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Show I guess what it is?
- 27:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 27:18Speaker 4: It feels like all the big cards go to the
- 27:20Speaker 4: shops and the professional collectors. Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 5: I want to just find one in the pack at
- 27:24Speaker 5: seven to eleven or whatever, right, you.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Know, which I feel doesn't happen enough.
- 27:28Speaker 5: No, we don't know yet if the owner plans to
- 27:30Speaker 5: take the maps up on this offer or not. But
- 27:32Speaker 5: that card is said to be worth over a million dollars.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Why can't I get lucky like that.
- 27:37Speaker 8: I know, I know.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Can you imagine pulling that out of a pack?
- 27:40Speaker 1: Though, I'd be so high a million dollar card?
- 27:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Oh, I mean, keep a watch on all of your
- 27:45Speaker 5: like old school things. Because speaking of all that, this
- 27:48Speaker 5: game shop is going viral in Wisconsin because they just
- 27:52Speaker 5: discovered almost one hundred copies of a never before seen
- 27:55Speaker 5: version of Super Mario Brothers And Duck Hunt cartridges and
- 27:58Speaker 5: storage no way. Yeah, so they actually bought them a
- 28:01Speaker 5: few years ago from a man who had them in
- 28:03Speaker 5: his garage. He's had them for like twenty to thirty
- 28:05Speaker 5: years untouched. They were intended to be melted down for
- 28:09Speaker 5: gold and never made it to that point. They were
- 28:11Speaker 5: hidden behind some Halloween decorations. Yeah. I guess there's little
- 28:15Speaker 5: pieces of gold in some of those cartridges.
- 28:17Speaker 1: In my Duck Hunt.
- 28:18Speaker 5: It can't be very much. Wow, but three of them
- 28:23Speaker 5: are going to go up for auction. And there was
- 28:25Speaker 5: a version of Super Mario Bros. That recently sold for
- 28:27Speaker 5: three million dollars no way.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah, all this stuff was trash to us as a kid.
- 28:32Speaker 5: I know, you're like, well, I'm never playing Duck Hunt again?
- 28:34Speaker 5: Why would I want that?
- 28:36Speaker 4: And then I stopped collecting stuff because I thought, as
- 28:38Speaker 4: a kid, if I got the Purple Beanie Baby, the
- 28:40Speaker 4: Princess Diana beanie Baby, I.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Was going to be a millionaire exactly. And I got it,
- 28:44Speaker 1: and guess what, Yeah I'm not.
- 28:45Speaker 5: No, I had it too. My friend's dad had it
- 28:47Speaker 5: and kept it in like a plastic box to keep it,
- 28:51Speaker 5: you know, from getting dust or wear on it.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah. That was worth it. I still have it. You
- 28:57Speaker 1: do want me to bring it up?
- 28:58Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:00Speaker 5: We can bring all your like old Nintendo games and things.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I have all my baseball cards. I have a lot
- 29:04Speaker 4: of stuff. But it was like in the nineties, all
- 29:06Speaker 4: that stuff was overproduced, so it's it's worth nothing.
- 29:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Everything that I thought I was going to be a
- 29:11Speaker 4: millionaire because I Keppt is trash.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 4: And then some little punk kid in Rhode Island gets
- 29:17Speaker 4: a one for one Cooper flag, right, and he's a millionaire.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I'm working my whole damn life.
- 29:23Speaker 5: Right, try seriously real quick. Speaking of the nineties, Backstreet
- 29:27Speaker 5: Boys extending their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
- 29:31Speaker 5: These new shows are going to include New Year's Eve

- 29:38Speaker 5: The show's based on you know, their Millennium album from
- 29:40Speaker 5: nineteen ninety nine. But they've already done forty seven sold
- 29:43Speaker 5: out shows, so these are going to go quick. But
- 29:45Speaker 5: if you haven't seen it, now's your chance.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Can I make a show trip to Vegas to see it? Yeah?
- 29:51Speaker 5: I'd love to see that.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Because I know it's weird if I go alone, No,
- 29:55Speaker 1: go with you, like what grown Man and we'll go. Yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 1: that's what I want to do.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, you know what grown man at my age
- 30:02Speaker 4: is like going to see the Backstreet Boys.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Well, at least you're being honest about it, because I
- 30:06Speaker 5: know there's some dudes who are like, oh, where someone
- 30:08Speaker 5: would ask me to go?
- 30:09Speaker 1: No, I know exactly what I'm saying.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Jealous of his wife on a girl's dress, like I
- 30:13Speaker 5: want I want to go? Well, you gotta go.
- 30:15Speaker 1: It's like my it's also kind of like my thing.
- 30:17Speaker 5: You know what makes sense?
- 30:18Speaker 1: I mean I played that album live on the radio. Yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 1: and its entirety.
- 30:23Speaker 5: Okay, we'll take you. Yeah, all right, I'm Kanda Slowpez.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Those are your Texas hop stories.
- 30:30Speaker 8: Get it off your chest to promise you'll feel better.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Welcome to the Dirty Little Secret and Mix one or
- 30:35Speaker 3: two point nine.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Good morning, it's baib like a kid Canda Sloan Pez
- 30:38Speaker 4: producer pooh is here, Dirty Little Secret.
- 30:40Speaker 1: By the way, it's back to school time. First day
- 30:43Speaker 1: for Dallas GP. What's up? GPTM skate Hey what I'm
- 30:48Speaker 1: skaters prosper irving it today.
- 30:50Speaker 4: So it's a big day and just remember, listen, have
- 30:53Speaker 4: a good time at school today. All right, it's these
- 30:56Speaker 4: are some of the best days of your life. I
- 30:58Speaker 4: know when you're a kid, you don't think so, but
- 30:59Speaker 4: you'll look back one day when you're old and crusty
- 31:01Speaker 4: like us. Yeah, and you're gonna be like oh man,
- 31:04Speaker 4: to be a sixth grader again, right, love to the
- 31:09Speaker 4: eighth grader again. It's the dah grade. Yeah, six eighth
- 31:13Speaker 4: grade's tough. Ninth grade even as a freshman. I even
- 31:16Speaker 4: liked freshman year.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. And then high school is just like
- 31:19Speaker 1: it's fun. It's fun.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Best years of your life, so enjoy it. Back to
- 31:23Speaker 4: school time. If you got a secret, let us know.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Eight three three seven eight seven one o two nine.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I don't care what it is. It is time to confess.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Bring it on.
- 31:31Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, I have a confession that has bothered
- 31:34Speaker 6: me for such a long time. And honestly, I didn't
- 31:37Speaker 6: even know if I should call in and say it
- 31:39Speaker 6: because not every school is like this, But I gotta
- 31:43Speaker 6: let you know I'm nervous. Okay, yeah, okay, So I
- 31:46Speaker 6: worked as a lunch lady for a few years at
- 31:49Speaker 6: this middle school in a major school district. But I'm
- 31:53Speaker 6: not gonna say to that. Don't say it of the district.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, let me just say that the people I
- 31:59Speaker 6: worked with were come completely disgusting. They ruined school cafeteria
- 32:05Speaker 6: food for me for life. I'm not saying every school cafeteria,
- 32:11Speaker 6: but I'm because I know that there are a couple
- 32:15Speaker 6: of amazing people out there who take food safety like
- 32:19Speaker 6: very seriously, you know, but where I work, But where
- 32:23Speaker 6: I worked, it was literally unbelievable. I mean, okay, So,
- 32:27Speaker 6: like the thing that like will push me over the
- 32:29Speaker 6: edge is that how many people will like go to
- 32:32Speaker 6: the bathroom and just come back to work without washing
- 32:36Speaker 6: their hands.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Oh, come on, all the time?
- 32:41Speaker 4: We see that here and we're not in a cafeteria,
- 32:44Speaker 4: but yeah they do, and we don't handle food, but
- 32:47Speaker 4: I see, I call it I call it stall of.
- 32:49Speaker 1: The hall.
- 32:52Speaker 5: As the rest of us who aren't in the men's room,
- 32:54Speaker 5: so we know who to stay away from.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Well, I will tell you this can to stay away
- 32:57Speaker 4: from eighty percent of the men who work here. Yeah,
- 33:00Speaker 4: they do not wash their hands.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So when they want to hug up on you or
- 33:03Speaker 1: shake your hand, Candace.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Just know it's stall to the hall. They skip the
- 33:06Speaker 4: same anyway. So stall to the hall they go, bathroom
- 33:10Speaker 4: stall straight to the hall.
- 33:13Speaker 1: So good, but this is so you would see.
- 33:16Speaker 6: This, what's happened, and they go right back to handling
- 33:18Speaker 6: the food. It was disgusting.
- 33:20Speaker 2: It's sick to watch it, you know.
- 33:22Speaker 6: And so this one woman that I used to work with,
- 33:25Speaker 6: she came to work every day smelling like cat peak
- 33:29Speaker 6: and she had like ten twelve cats, you know, the
- 33:33Speaker 6: lady with the cat.
- 33:35Speaker 2: The smell follow her wherever.
- 33:38Speaker 3: She goes in her cars.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Yeah, you could smell her before she even walked into
- 33:44Speaker 6: the kitchen.
- 33:45Speaker 8: Yes.
- 33:46Speaker 6: And there was another one that was constantly, like like always,
- 33:51Speaker 6: like NonStop. She got a cough, it's a sniffle, she's sneezing,
- 33:56Speaker 6: hack and she and she would always say, oh, it's
- 33:57Speaker 6: just allergies. I just have allergies. It's take the clarity
- 34:01Speaker 6: in or something, because yeah, he's getting over the food
- 34:05Speaker 6: and trying to serve the kids and stuff. And I'll
- 34:08Speaker 6: always be like, go home. You know. She's like, oh no,
- 34:11Speaker 6: it's not I'm not sick, it's just allergies. And it
- 34:14Speaker 6: was just so disgusting. It was one gross thing after another,
- 34:17Speaker 6: so listen, I couldn't take it anymore. I saw a
- 34:20Speaker 6: couple of things that just really pushed me over the edge.
- 34:23Speaker 6: So I quit. But before because I had said some things,
- 34:27Speaker 6: you know, I tried to tell I was going.
- 34:29Speaker 1: To say good, good, because you should.
- 34:31Speaker 6: Yeah, I wrote a letter. I wrote a letter to
- 34:34Speaker 6: the superintendent of this very major popular district food district
- 34:40Speaker 6: and let them know all that was going on. They
- 34:42Speaker 6: need to clean up the act. But you know, my
- 34:45Speaker 6: my niece goes to the school now, and I make
- 34:48Speaker 6: sure her mom packs her lunch every day. Oh good,
- 34:52Speaker 6: she said, you know that some of those same people,
- 34:55Speaker 6: the cat lady, she's still there, you know, and all
- 34:59Speaker 6: that kind of.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Well.
- 35:01Speaker 4: I I get this because I'm and I believe it
- 35:04Speaker 4: because when I was a kid, my elementary school was nasty.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I found a lee press on nail in my food.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Oh, that's grow.
- 35:12Speaker 4: And I looked and I looked at the nails of
- 35:14Speaker 4: the lunch lady and she was missing one.
- 35:18Speaker 1: What kind of food was it? Well, it was we
- 35:22Speaker 1: called it some different down here. They call it traveling tacos.
- 35:25Speaker 1: What you call it? You call it? Well, right, we
- 35:30Speaker 1: call it walking tacos or traveling taco And it was
- 35:33Speaker 1: right in the mix. I was like, man, this meat
- 35:36Speaker 1: is hard.
- 35:39Speaker 5: That's not a free though.
- 35:40Speaker 1: And it was a crylic nail. No, it was not
- 35:43Speaker 1: a free doo. So good for you.
- 35:47Speaker 4: You at least you said something and you didn't keep
- 35:50Speaker 4: it a total secret. But yeah, I know most lunch
- 35:55Speaker 4: ladies are nice.
- 35:56Speaker 6: They need to pack their kids lunch.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Okay, sure, and school lunch doesn't hit like you used
- 36:02Speaker 4: to anyway. Don't square pizzas that we man square pizza.
- 36:06Speaker 4: It wasn't even real, dope.
- 36:08Speaker 5: Now they have apples wrapped in cellophane.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Yeah, we had bagels, mashed potatoes. We had the square
- 36:15Speaker 4: pizza with chocolate milk frot burritos.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Yeah, well, ma'am, and.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Milk it is, but it kind of worked like it.
- 36:28Speaker 1: But you have the side of salmonilla. That's why our stomachs.
- 36:35Speaker 4: That's why like Gen X and elder millennials, we don't
- 36:38Speaker 4: even this diarrhea lettuce doesn't even bother us.
- 36:41Speaker 1: We grew up different, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 1: we drank a hose water. We're built for this.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Well, thank you so much for your confession. And yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 4: I am not going to my kids school to eat
- 36:56Speaker 4: with them this year. Yeah, I'm bringing my own sammy. Well,
- 37:00Speaker 4: thank you so much, and you have a great day.
- 37:02Speaker 6: Thanks so much.
- 37:04Speaker 4: By the way, I know not all schools are like this,
- 37:07Speaker 4: So there's if your lunch lady out there right now,
- 37:09Speaker 4: don't get mad at me. Yeah, I know you're probably
- 37:12Speaker 4: nine out of ten times you're not cat lady, you know,
- 37:16Speaker 4: or you're you're not losing a.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Nail in the freedo pie. What was your favorite school food? Cannie?
- 37:25Speaker 5: Uh, probably could square pizza, but just like the plain
- 37:28Speaker 5: cheese version.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Really, yeah, you could eat cheese then I could.
- 37:32Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 37:32Speaker 1: What was yours? The fried burrito? I don't remember the
- 37:35Speaker 1: fried burrito? Yeah? Really?
- 37:38Speaker 5: The concession standach? Oh yeah, yeah, some days go in there.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Why were we allowed to eat those? At like ten am?
- 37:49Speaker 5: All right, gets going.
- 37:51Speaker 4: For Candis Court and gets settled here with Billy the
- 37:55Speaker 4: Kid in the morning, right for the Honible Judge Cannis
- 37:58Speaker 4: lo Fez. There she is and Skeet Skeeter herself. I
- 38:02Speaker 4: almost said, a reformed Skeeter thought it was a problem. No,
- 38:07Speaker 4: it's not a problem. Shout out to Mesquite first day
- 38:11Speaker 4: back to school and Mesquite today. I know it's a
- 38:12Speaker 4: big deal. It's a mixed one or two point nine.
- 38:14Speaker 4: That's where you graduated from kids. You didn't get your
- 38:17Speaker 4: law degree from there, you got it from the Mesquite Rodeo.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, that's a little bit different.
- 38:21Speaker 4: But either way, you have a problem, you reach out
- 38:24Speaker 4: to Candace. She will help you solve it. At Candace
- 38:26Speaker 4: on Air, here we go. My girlfriends and I are
- 38:29Speaker 4: in a bit of a situation. I need your help
- 38:31Speaker 4: with our best friend's fortieth birthday is coming up, and
- 38:35Speaker 4: two other friends and I wanted to get her something special,
- 38:38Speaker 4: so we came up with an idea. But since the
- 38:41Speaker 4: gift we chose is a bit pricey, we decided to
- 38:44Speaker 4: all split the costs among three of us, which I
- 38:47Speaker 4: think is really nice. Yeah, you'd rather get some somebody
- 38:50Speaker 4: once then just figure that out yourselves. Yeah, Well, one
- 38:53Speaker 4: of the girls is now saying that she can't go
- 38:56Speaker 4: to the birthday Girls party because of another she can't
- 39:01Speaker 4: get out of, and asked if we could wait to
- 39:04Speaker 4: give her her gift at the party and do it
- 39:07Speaker 4: another time when she's available.
- 39:09Speaker 8: What.
- 39:11Speaker 4: I don't think that's fair to us. I love the
- 39:13Speaker 4: stuff girls fight about. Oh, I don't think that's fair
- 39:16Speaker 4: to us. My other friend isn't sure. So we're all
- 39:19Speaker 4: on hold now with how and.
- 39:22Speaker 1: When to give this gift.
- 39:23Speaker 4: It's pretty expensive handbag that our friend has wanted for
- 39:27Speaker 4: a long time, and we've been so excited about this
- 39:30Speaker 4: and since we thought of it, it's just been something
- 39:33Speaker 4: we're looking forward to help us figure this out before
- 39:36Speaker 4: we end up returning the bag and just calling this
- 39:39Speaker 4: whole thing off. Oh all right, First of all, Candice nice,
- 39:45Speaker 4: this is just another reason it's hard to be a woman.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Yeah, gods would never fight over this.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Okay, then what would guys do? Because I feel like
- 39:54Speaker 5: you got to decide where the priority is. Is it
- 39:56Speaker 5: the birthday girl or your busy friend.
- 39:58Speaker 1: No, we just don't get gifts. We're just like it's
- 40:00Speaker 1: Pooh's birthday. Happy birthday, Broye, you too, man, too happy? Birthday. Cool.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Okay, you're right, Like you put so much thought into it,
- 40:09Speaker 4: which is a good thing. Right, then it turns into
- 40:11Speaker 4: this drama in this situation.
- 40:13Speaker 1: So what do you do with this?
- 40:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that's so tough because I love celebrating people on
- 40:18Speaker 5: the day that's the day, you know what I mean, Like,
- 40:20Speaker 5: I don't want anything to get missed on their day.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Now she is having a party, so there is a
- 40:25Speaker 5: celebration going. So you guys just really have to decide
- 40:28Speaker 5: what moment is going to be the best moment for
- 40:31Speaker 5: the birthday girl.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Well, bottom line is to me is it's about the
- 40:35Speaker 4: birthday girl. Like you just said, she gets her gift
- 40:38Speaker 4: on her birthday. Yeah, it's not your fault and the
- 40:42Speaker 4: other two girls fault that you have another event. Right,
- 40:45Speaker 4: you're being incredibly selfish. But wait, because I want to
- 40:49Speaker 4: be You'll get the credit.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Don't worry.
- 40:51Speaker 5: It's a credit thing for sure, that I understand. But
- 40:55Speaker 5: why do you have another event on the same day.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Well, she wants to I mean, I get that, but
- 40:59Speaker 1: she wants to be included in the celebration. You know
- 41:02Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Cool, and cancel your other event. I'm moving my birthday
- 41:05Speaker 4: party because of your stupid event.
- 41:08Speaker 1: But what if it couldn't have been helped? Well, what
- 41:10Speaker 1: is it? I don't know?
- 41:11Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, I really need to know what it is,
- 41:13Speaker 5: because I feel like you got a date.
- 41:14Speaker 4: You have a date with a man, unless it's a funeral.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Oh and honestly, grandma could have wait to pass. Oh cool,
- 41:22Speaker 4: your girl's birthday.
- 41:24Speaker 1: You can't wait on me? Come on, all pitched in together? Say,
- 41:27Speaker 1: have all three of us pitched in on a gift
- 41:29Speaker 1: for our boss or something? Yeah, and you can't go
- 41:33Speaker 1: to the party and she's getting her gift. You wait
- 41:36Speaker 1: on me?
- 41:36Speaker 2: No?
- 41:37Speaker 4: Why because you can sign Yeah, you could sign up
- 41:40Speaker 4: scenes like an easy way out and nobody reads I
- 41:45Speaker 4: look like a sucker. Well, I mean, first of all,
- 41:49Speaker 4: in our situation, it'd be different because you probably would
- 41:51Speaker 4: never actually pitch in.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Oh no, no, some okay, well not enough to make
- 41:58Speaker 1: me hold the party? Yeah? I mean you a birthday girl.
- 42:04Speaker 7: I mean I am.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But I mean if I can't be there, couple sell
- 42:07Speaker 1: of my Homegirlsi, you're willing to be selfish enough to go?
- 42:11Speaker 1: I need credit for this.
- 42:13Speaker 4: So birthday girls gonna have to wait for her gift
- 42:16Speaker 4: on her birthday that she should enjoy, right, unless.
- 42:19Speaker 5: It's like that absolute next day. I mean, we're not
- 42:23Speaker 5: waiting till next weekend or next month. Like scheduling the
- 42:26Speaker 5: stuff with friends at this age is so hard, Like
- 42:29Speaker 5: you just don't do it it is, you know what
- 42:31Speaker 5: I mean. Unless it's the next day, we're not waiting.
- 42:34Speaker 4: No, I agree with Canvas on this, and I think pooh,
- 42:37Speaker 4: I think you would understand too. So when it's your birthday, yeah,
- 42:40Speaker 4: you're with not getting your gift until like I don't
- 42:42Speaker 4: know two months later.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I don't know about two months, but I'll wait on mine.
- 42:47Speaker 5: You know how months today? How long are we talking here?
- 42:51Speaker 1: It's a fact to school times.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Moms are busy, you got things going on. It's every
- 42:55Speaker 4: once in a lifetime you can actually get time to
- 42:57Speaker 4: do something all together. Now we're gonna wait because you
- 42:59Speaker 4: chose good to win other event.
- 43:01Speaker 5: Yeah that unless your friend is someone who's like, hey,
- 43:04Speaker 5: let's celebrate me whenever. You know what some people are
- 43:06Speaker 5: some people like to extend it. But I think on
- 43:08Speaker 5: a fortieth birthday, like this is.
- 43:10Speaker 1: A big party, always that one girl in the friend
- 43:13Speaker 1: group messing it all up.
- 43:14Speaker 5: My fortieth birthday party.
- 43:16Speaker 4: Yeah, like really, Nicole, get it together. It's always in Nicole,
- 43:22Speaker 4: Like you know, it's a Nicole or a Shannon. No, okay,
- 43:25Speaker 4: Candic slow place. Do we have a verdict?
- 43:26Speaker 5: Yeah, look, sorry, but I think you're guilty of being
- 43:28Speaker 5: a double book Diana. You can't double book on somebody's.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Fortieth birthday party. Clarify the event.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I want to know with the event because
- 43:39Speaker 4: other other than something very significant or an emergency, right,
- 43:43Speaker 4: go to your girls party.
- 43:45Speaker 5: It doesn't sound like that's what it is. Otherwise they
- 43:47Speaker 5: would give you more grace for that situation.
- 43:50Speaker 1: She is guilty of being a Yeah, she's double book Diana.
- 43:54Speaker 1: It's tough stories on the Tents with Billy the Kid
- 43:57Speaker 1: in the.
- 43:57Speaker 8: Morning only on the New Mix one or two point.
- 44:00Speaker 4: You don't have a chance to go to Disneyland and
- 44:02Speaker 4: coming up next, so make sure you listen. We do
- 44:04Speaker 4: it all day on the ten so Summer Wing. We
- 44:06Speaker 4: call it Summer Ween because we're giving us way in
- 44:08Speaker 4: the summer. It's a trip to Disneyland though this Halloween,
- 44:11Speaker 4: which is one of the best times of the year
- 44:13Speaker 4: to go. But we got your airfare, hotel, everything, taking
- 44:16Speaker 4: care of hook that up.
- 44:18Speaker 1: We'll do it next. Canda Slopez, what is going on?
- 44:20Speaker 5: Well, it's back to school for more than thirty five
- 44:22Speaker 5: districts today. Welcome back, Dallas, Plaino, Mesquite, Grand Prairie, Irving, Carrollton.
- 44:27Speaker 5: All of you guys headed back. Please watch out for
- 44:29Speaker 5: school zones. Lots of scooters. I'm hearing are going to
- 44:32Speaker 5: be out and about this morning.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Ride your scooter to school?
- 44:35Speaker 5: Yeah? Wow, we at our school. It's just like a
- 44:37Speaker 5: row of scooters, a row of bikes.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Okay, do they even lock them up?
- 44:41Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 44:43Speaker 1: What Yeah, this seems crazy.
- 44:45Speaker 5: I don't think they lock them up. But I mean
- 44:47Speaker 5: we have you know, resource officer and security cameras out
- 44:50Speaker 5: there and stuff, so I don't feel like anyone's bothering this.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Well, like I rode my bike to school back in
- 44:54Speaker 4: the day, and I mean I had to lock it up.
- 44:57Speaker 4: You went to the bike, right, locked everything up?
- 44:59Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
- 45:00Speaker 4: So it's kind of wild that in twenty twenty six
- 45:02Speaker 4: we don't lock our stuff up.
- 45:03Speaker 8: Good.
- 45:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I wish we didn't have to for
- 45:05Speaker 5: sure for sure. Yeah, that dad that I mentioned going
- 45:08Speaker 5: viral for his first day of school outfit making the
- 45:11Speaker 5: rounds online because I guess he does this every year,
- 45:13Speaker 5: and I don't know what his outfit was last year,
- 45:16Speaker 5: but he was taking his daughter to school yesterday wearing
- 45:19Speaker 5: an eighties fitness outfit, and people are starting to comment
- 45:23Speaker 5: on it because he you know, he does this to
- 45:24Speaker 5: try to help his daughter, philbore at ease going back
- 45:27Speaker 5: on the first day, and he says he wants to
- 45:29Speaker 5: inspire kids to laugh at themselves and build confidence. And
- 45:32Speaker 5: I think people are liking this because I'm starting to
- 45:34Speaker 5: see people at the bus stop now that are coming
- 45:37Speaker 5: out like those dinosaur blow up costumes and things to
- 45:40Speaker 5: get their kids off the bus.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Parents.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Yeah, parents wearing like, you know, some kind of inflatables
- 45:46Speaker 5: stop kill me.
- 45:47Speaker 4: Be so mad about that, Yeah, because I used to
- 45:51Speaker 4: just if I got a chance to pick him up
- 45:53Speaker 4: or something, I'd pick him up with a very obnoxious
- 45:55Speaker 4: song playing.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, like but he did. He kind of
- 45:59Speaker 1: grow out where he didn't really care.
- 46:00Speaker 4: He's like whatever, dad, Yeah, but I used to try
- 46:03Speaker 4: to do that on purpose, but I was easily embarrassed
- 46:06Speaker 4: as a kid if my dad were to do that devastating.
- 46:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, mortified guys. The city of Plano has voted
- 46:13Speaker 5: to call an election to decide on venue taxes to
- 46:16Speaker 5: fund the new Dallas Stars arena. Of course that location
- 46:20Speaker 5: is where the shops at Willowbend is right now. But
- 46:23Speaker 5: these proposed taxes would not impact residential property taxes, just
- 46:28Speaker 5: these venue transactions. So we're talking about like car rental taxes,
- 46:32Speaker 5: hotel taxes, and event parking. Several residents showed up last
- 46:36Speaker 5: night at this meeting to share their concerns. But the
- 46:39Speaker 5: November election, they want to remind you, is to vote
- 46:42Speaker 5: on the venue taxes only, not a final decision on
- 46:45Speaker 5: if the arena will be built. But a lot of
- 46:48Speaker 5: people are asking them to just pause all of this
- 46:50Speaker 5: conversation for just a second, pause the election, so that
- 46:54Speaker 5: we can get more details on you know, traffic, what's
- 46:57Speaker 5: your plan for traffic and noise?
- 46:59Speaker 1: Well, what can you do though, that's the whole thing.
- 47:01Speaker 4: You can't really stall this plan either, because I mean,
- 47:04Speaker 4: if the Stars have terminated their agreement with American Airlines,
- 47:07Speaker 4: that they're gonna have to play somewhere yeah by the time,
- 47:10Speaker 4: so they're gonna have to start building this place out.
- 47:12Speaker 4: And I don't think people are understanding though that it's
- 47:15Speaker 4: not just going to be a Stars venue. It's gonna
- 47:17Speaker 4: be all year. They're gonna have to do events there,
- 47:19Speaker 4: so there's gonna be traffic NonStop.
- 47:21Speaker 1: And you're right, what are they gonna do. They can't
- 47:23Speaker 1: make that intersection any bigger.
- 47:25Speaker 5: No, you really can't. And that's kind of what the
- 47:27Speaker 5: people were saying, is like everyone's been talking about the Stars,
- 47:29Speaker 5: the Stars, that's the only way we've been kind of
- 47:31Speaker 5: talking about this proposed venue. But yeah, there'll be concerts there,
- 47:35Speaker 5: there'll be other things going on the off season of
- 47:38Speaker 5: the Stars and even while they're in season. So it's
- 47:41Speaker 5: a lot of traffic. It's a lot of change for
- 47:43Speaker 5: people who have been there for so long.
- 47:45Speaker 4: I mean I live over there, So it's gonna affect
- 47:47Speaker 4: traffic that's already a packed intersection.
- 47:49Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. Well we will keep you posted. Guys.
- 47:52Speaker 5: For the first time in fifteen years, seven Up is
- 47:55Speaker 5: changing its recipe. This new version will be in stores soon.
- 47:59Speaker 5: This is kind of laughable to me. So instead of
- 48:03Speaker 5: lemon lime soda, it will soon be lime lemon soda.
- 48:07Speaker 1: They're really changing it.
- 48:09Speaker 5: They are. Yeah, it's time to let lime shine.
- 48:11Speaker 6: Guys.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Are they doing this just for a publicity stunt because
- 48:14Speaker 1: that's what it feels like.
- 48:15Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:15Speaker 5: Probably. So it's also gonna get new packaging with a
- 48:18Speaker 5: vertical logo of people who have tasted already say it's
- 48:22Speaker 5: barely noticeable. But again, I think this is just brands
- 48:25Speaker 5: again looking to revamp and figure out what we can
- 48:28Speaker 5: do that's kind of cool, but not like so cool
- 48:30Speaker 5: that we'll hate it, like cracker Barrel.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Well, because there's so much competition. Like I mean, I'm
- 48:33Speaker 4: not even being rude. I just don't know anybody like
- 48:35Speaker 4: my grandma. I think you used to buy seven up.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't know the last time. I don't
- 48:39Speaker 1: know if I've ever bought a seven up.
- 48:42Speaker 5: Every time I have an upset stomach, I go for
- 48:44Speaker 5: seven up.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Ginger a.
- 48:49Speaker 5: I don't even know what gingerill.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Or soda from Barkely water from up North?
- 48:55Speaker 2: Any reason?
- 48:55Speaker 7: I get this because my aunt is from Michigan. Where
- 48:58Speaker 7: do they sell werners?
- 49:00Speaker 6: Oh?
- 49:00Speaker 4: They having two leaders of Kroger. Yeah yeah, man, Okay,
- 49:05Speaker 4: so that's a Midwest thing. Yes, I grew up as
- 49:08Speaker 4: a kid in Michigan.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Let me just tell you everything that was wrong with
- 49:12Speaker 1: me ever, and my mom would give me burners. It
- 49:15Speaker 1: didn't matter what was going on in my life.
- 49:17Speaker 4: I mean, just drink some burners and I would burn
- 49:21Speaker 4: your throat, your stomach.
- 49:22Speaker 5: Oh really?
- 49:23Speaker 1: Oh oh yeah, get you burn your nose.
- 49:26Speaker 4: That's why I drink some of it up to Oh
- 49:28Speaker 4: you got a stomach, Get here, Billy eat, drink some burners.
- 49:32Speaker 5: All right, I'm gonna look for brain.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Your ankle. Just drink some burners. It's my ankle, mom,
- 49:38Speaker 1: broken arm. Just drink a little.
- 49:39Speaker 5: Burners, all right. Those are your Texas Top story the
- 49:44Speaker 5: new Mixed one on two point nine. Age let us
- 49:49Speaker 5: know what you think.
- 49:50Speaker 8: Here's today's hot take.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Mixed one on two point nine.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Good morning, Billy the Kid, Canda Slowpez producer, Pooh, you
- 49:56Speaker 4: know what, Candace, you would have made a good teacher,
- 49:58Speaker 4: you think so?
- 49:59Speaker 1: I was just thinking about because how to take us
- 50:01Speaker 1: to do with that?
- 50:01Speaker 4: And it's back to school time, and I know Plato's
- 50:03Speaker 4: back today, shout out to Dallas Mesquite a lot of
- 50:06Speaker 4: school's going back and more tomorrow as it rolls out
- 50:09Speaker 4: this week. But one parent went off, went off about
- 50:14Speaker 4: something that we've talked about before. And I think more
- 50:16Speaker 4: and more parents are speaking out about this because some
- 50:21Speaker 4: people think it's out of control. But this parent basically
- 50:24Speaker 4: went online on social media and said, there's one thing
- 50:26Speaker 4: that my kids are not doing this year when it
- 50:28Speaker 4: comes to school. They're not doing homework. Oh wow, they
- 50:32Speaker 4: are not doing homework. I mean when I tell you
- 50:34Speaker 4: she was angry, listen to this.
- 50:36Speaker 5: My kids will never do homework.
- 50:37Speaker 9: They're not going to go sit at school all day
- 50:39Speaker 9: for eight hours, come home and do homework. If you
- 50:42Speaker 9: want to fail them because of it, failed them because
- 50:44Speaker 9: of it, and you're the reason why they won't graduate.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Way wow, Wait a minute. I don't know where she's from,
- 50:52Speaker 1: but that's this is a little over the top to me.
- 50:55Speaker 5: Yeah, she's passionate.
- 50:58Speaker 1: No, if you want to fail them, fail him right.
- 51:01Speaker 9: What My twelve year old has never done homework, my
- 51:03Speaker 9: ten year old has ever done homework, and my six
- 51:05Speaker 9: year old has never done homework.
- 51:07Speaker 5: But never going to do homework.
- 51:08Speaker 8: And that's just that.
- 51:09Speaker 9: And teachers can get over themselves. You teach them for
- 51:12Speaker 9: eight hours a day. If that's not enough time, Like,
- 51:14Speaker 9: I don't know what.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Else to tell you, Okay, hold on, interesting, teachers can
- 51:19Speaker 4: get over themselves.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Is that to me?
- 51:22Speaker 5: That's her full?
- 51:23Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 51:24Speaker 5: I don't Listen, I understand where she's coming from. Though
- 51:26Speaker 5: we have too much homework?
- 51:28Speaker 1: Do you though? Yeah?
- 51:29Speaker 5: Really I remember having way too much homework. I'd be like, wait,
- 51:32Speaker 5: I have homework in four subjects and a paper do tomorrow.
- 51:35Speaker 1: I gotta be honest, I don't remember having this much homework.
- 51:38Speaker 5: Really, I don't. That's why I read the cliffs notes,
- 51:40Speaker 5: because I'm like, when do I have time to read
- 51:43Speaker 5: a novel on top of all this?
- 51:45Speaker 4: Okay, but your son he just went he's about to
- 51:47Speaker 4: go into third third grade. He's not bringing home homework
- 51:50Speaker 4: all day.
- 51:50Speaker 5: He brought home homework last year, but it wasn't required.
- 51:53Speaker 5: It was kind of like, hey, if you guys want
- 51:55Speaker 5: to work on this at home, if you want him to,
- 51:58Speaker 5: you know, brush up on things or get in the
- 52:00Speaker 5: habit of knowing what homework is, you can do it.
- 52:02Speaker 1: It was optional, isn't it good? To a point?
- 52:05Speaker 4: I mean I say this because listen, I don't think
- 52:07Speaker 4: you can blame teachers on this. I don't think you
- 52:09Speaker 4: should say teachers, get over yourself. First of all, teachers,
- 52:12Speaker 4: you're thinking, thank you, because what do we do without you?
- 52:17Speaker 4: There's so many teachers that affected my life in a
- 52:19Speaker 4: positive way, that got paid nothing. When you look back,
- 52:22Speaker 4: I'm like, look at all this stuff the teachers do.
- 52:24Speaker 4: They're fixing up their classroom, they're spending their own money.
- 52:27Speaker 4: So to say teachers, get over yourself. That's a little
- 52:29Speaker 4: over the top to me. But she continues to go off.
- 52:31Speaker 9: You guys always have an issue with it, and we
- 52:33Speaker 9: always make it this big deal, and you always call
- 52:35Speaker 9: me a preparing teacher conferences that I don't attend. He's like,
- 52:38Speaker 9: don't care, Like, literally, your job is to teach them
- 52:41Speaker 9: at school.
- 52:41Speaker 5: I'm not teaching them at home. Otherwise I would be
- 52:44Speaker 5: a homeschool teacher.
- 52:45Speaker 8: Got it?
- 52:46Speaker 5: Oh my god? Yikes?
- 52:48Speaker 1: What okay? Is she a little over the top?
- 52:52Speaker 5: Yes?
- 52:53Speaker 1: Maybe a little over the top. Does she have a point? Candae?
- 52:56Speaker 5: Yes, because I remember needing help on a lot of
- 52:59Speaker 5: my homework as kid. You know, in these days, everyone
- 53:01Speaker 5: I'm hearing about is just get ready for the new
- 53:03Speaker 5: math because kids are going to come home and ask
- 53:05Speaker 5: you to help them and you're not going to be
- 53:07Speaker 5: able to because you don't know how they're teaching it
- 53:09Speaker 5: these days.
- 53:09Speaker 1: New math.
- 53:10Speaker 5: Yeah, there's new ways to do math apparently, And I'm like, well,
- 53:13Speaker 5: my brain doesn't know that new way.
- 53:15Speaker 7: Yeah, mine doesn't either, And I felt bad because, I mean, Brendan,
- 53:18Speaker 7: who's going to be in high school this year. Last
- 53:21Speaker 7: year he got a couple of bad grades and it
- 53:23Speaker 7: was because he asked me for help.
- 53:25Speaker 1: All that. I'm just saying this, he should know better.
- 53:29Speaker 1: This new math is crazy, yeah, and I don't understand it.
- 53:33Speaker 7: I'd rather them work on that assignment at the classroom
- 53:36Speaker 7: and not bring it home to me.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Like history. I can do history, I can do biology
- 53:40Speaker 1: all day. But math in English Yeah.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Yeah, But I mean, I guess I just don't feel
- 53:47Speaker 4: like these kids should just get out of doing homework.
- 53:49Speaker 5: Not altogether. I mean, there has to be something like
- 53:52Speaker 5: I'm trying to figure out, Like I feel like I
- 53:54Speaker 5: have a good work ethic. Where did that come from?
- 53:56Speaker 5: Did it come from all the homework I got? Did
- 53:58Speaker 5: it come from this?
- 53:59Speaker 8: Jess?
- 54:00Speaker 1: Doesn't It doesn't some homework.
- 54:02Speaker 4: I'm not saying they should be just overwhelmed with homework, yeah,
- 54:05Speaker 4: but to say no homework ever, I think it's crazy
- 54:08Speaker 4: because I think it does teach you responsibility. I think
- 54:11Speaker 4: it does teach you how to do things on your own.
- 54:14Speaker 4: I think it's probably good if you get your parents involved.
- 54:16Speaker 4: And my mom was busy too, But there's a way
- 54:18Speaker 4: to figure things out that you can do together.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:21Speaker 5: I don't know where parents are finding the time these days,
- 54:23Speaker 5: especially with everything going on.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Easy, but it's never been easy.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it's never been easy. But our parents didn't
- 54:28Speaker 5: have their phone blowing up all night when they're at home,
- 54:31Speaker 5: not at work, with work things and emails and texts
- 54:34Speaker 5: and notifications and all of these expectations that no one's
- 54:37Speaker 5: ever had to experience before.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Yeah. But these kids that come on no homework, that's soft.
- 54:42Speaker 5: Yeah, now I agree it no homework is kind of unrealistic.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Right, Like at what age should there be an age
- 54:48Speaker 1: where they start to get homework?
- 54:50Speaker 4: What how to fix it? Maybe it's a hey on
- 54:53Speaker 4: certain days Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays, Right, it could be
- 54:56Speaker 4: math and then the other days are another subject.
- 54:59Speaker 5: Well that's what I don't I think every subject should
- 55:01Speaker 5: just be a free for all, Like we can all
- 55:02Speaker 5: give homeworks night if we want. Well, how am I
- 55:04Speaker 5: going to manage all that? You know in the little
- 55:06Speaker 5: amount of time that I have?
- 55:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, and then you got the older kids.
- 55:10Speaker 1: What if you have a job like it's hard to
- 55:12Speaker 1: hold that. It was hard for me.
- 55:14Speaker 7: I had a job back in high school and was
- 55:17Speaker 7: doing track and was trying to hold down the homework.
- 55:19Speaker 7: And my parents were like, shoot, if you can't handle it,
- 55:21Speaker 7: you got to quit something.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Yeah you know what I mean? Did you have to work? Yeah? Why?
- 55:27Speaker 7: I had to work because my mom wasn't back. If
- 55:30Speaker 7: I wanted Jordan's or Jabo jeans and all that other stuff,
- 55:33Speaker 7: my mom was like, I'm not gonna pay for that.
- 55:34Speaker 1: You gotta get your job. You didn't have to have
- 55:37Speaker 1: that stuff. What I mean, some kids do have to
- 55:40Speaker 1: work to their family. Who did not have to do that?
- 55:44Speaker 4: Yeah? I did if I wanted those jobs at McDonald's.
- 55:47Speaker 4: Was not paying the mortgage. Who acts like he's paying
- 55:50Speaker 4: the mortgage?
- 55:52Speaker 1: But I had to work. I had to work. If
- 55:54Speaker 1: I wanted certain things, I had to get a job.
- 55:55Speaker 2: You know.
- 55:56Speaker 7: I mean, dog, I was wearing tough skins in seventh grade.
- 55:59Speaker 7: That's embarrass you know what I'm saying. That's embarrassing. Well,
- 56:03Speaker 7: Jean's in seventh grade.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Nope, nope. So how many hours did you work today
- 56:10Speaker 1: in high school?
- 56:12Speaker 7: In high school, I would work at least five to
- 56:14Speaker 7: six hours in high school.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no way, what no, how what do you
- 56:20Speaker 1: mean how after school? I go straight to work? Now,
- 56:23Speaker 1: how do you do track?
- 56:24Speaker 8: Now?
- 56:24Speaker 7: During track season, I didn't work. I only worked on
- 56:27Speaker 7: the weekends. But during the like like football season and
- 56:30Speaker 7: all that other stuff, No, I worked. I worked after school.
- 56:34Speaker 4: I'd like to see this. I'd like to talk to Morgan,
- 56:36Speaker 4: your sister. She only had on My sister only had one.
- 56:39Speaker 4: The richest family out of all of this. That's why
- 56:43Speaker 4: I think it's funny. It's Pooh's family. They were good, yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 4: but I was. I was the worst one, and I
- 56:49Speaker 4: blame myself. I was the black sheet. My sister had
- 56:51Speaker 4: one job growing up.
- 56:52Speaker 1: One job. She worked at Famous Footwear for two months
- 56:55Speaker 1: and my dad was like, no, don't worry about it.
- 56:57Speaker 5: What was it's?
- 57:00Speaker 1: Yeah, she didn't care about your bow jeans. That's why
- 57:04Speaker 1: she's a doctor now and speaks five languages.
- 57:07Speaker 4: It's Billy the Kid, candiceloan pass producer, poo is here.
- 57:10Speaker 4: We have had so many dms about this and it's
- 57:13Speaker 4: cracking me up. I don't know how we got started
- 57:15Speaker 4: talking about this. Earlier of things that you believed as
- 57:18Speaker 4: a kid that are ridiculous to think about, now, yeah,
- 57:22Speaker 4: like ridiculous. What made us bring that up?
- 57:24Speaker 1: Anyway, we're talking about the kid who got arrested.
- 57:27Speaker 5: Oh yeah, his mom told him he was going he
- 57:29Speaker 5: didn't take them back to school picture.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Yes, he said he was gonna.
- 57:32Speaker 4: Yeh yeah, you're gonna get arrested if you don't pose
- 57:34Speaker 4: for back to school pick and you're like oh and
- 57:36Speaker 4: you'd be like button up real quick.
- 57:38Speaker 5: But she actually had the cop put him in handcuffs.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Now, yeah, she took it to another level.
- 57:42Speaker 4: I'm cracking up because they're coming in on my DMS
- 57:45Speaker 4: at Billy on the radio on Instagram. Shout out to
- 57:48Speaker 4: my friend Sammy, Hi Sammy. She said, my granddaddy had
- 57:52Speaker 4: a big old belly. He told me that's what happened
- 57:55Speaker 4: when you swallowed watermelon seeds. Speaking of water so, I
- 58:00Speaker 4: was terrified to swallow a seed.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Growing up.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Her parents told her like, that's where babies come from.
- 58:12Speaker 7: And I remember she butted in the house crying she
- 58:15Speaker 7: swallowed the watermelon.
- 58:16Speaker 1: See yeah, they told her so black watermelon seeds or
- 58:20Speaker 1: for black kids, and white water seeds for white kids.
- 58:24Speaker 1: And I swear it was Elizabeth. She butted the house. Mom, Mom,
- 58:28Speaker 1: I don't want no black babies. Shut up because she
- 58:32Speaker 1: swallowed a black water Stop. It's not funny.
- 58:37Speaker 5: I neveret.
- 58:39Speaker 1: This was my sister's free no way. How old was
- 58:44Speaker 1: she She had to be at least like five or
- 58:47Speaker 1: six years old. Who's telling them that?
- 58:50Speaker 5: Not terrible?
- 58:51Speaker 1: Who's saying that?
- 58:53Speaker 4: Like?
- 58:53Speaker 1: Why would you tell your kids that? First of all?
- 58:57Speaker 1: Second of all, there's white watermelon seeds. Yeah, well there are.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Yeah, they're like smaller and like easier to chew, Like
- 59:04Speaker 5: if you were to eat them, what do you do
- 59:09Speaker 5: with them?
- 59:11Speaker 1: I just swallow. I don't chew on them.
- 59:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Why are you serious?
- 59:19Speaker 5: You're just swallowing the seeds whole?
- 59:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 59:22Speaker 5: You do that with sunflower seeds. Yeah, I know, I've
- 59:27Speaker 5: seen it. It's weird.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Why would I What am I gonna do with the
- 59:30Speaker 1: watermelon seeds? I definitely not.
- 59:32Speaker 4: I mean, I guess if I have the time, but
- 59:36Speaker 4: I usually eat watermelon inside. Yeah, okay, so I'm not
- 59:39Speaker 4: gonna like spit them out in my living room.
- 59:42Speaker 5: No, don't do that.
- 59:43Speaker 1: So I just swallow them. Wow, it doesn't hurt you. Okay,
- 59:46Speaker 1: look at me. I'm fine swallow them today. Yeah.
- 59:51Speaker 5: And Billie's never had a baby.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Guys, Yeah, we're fine. Yeah, maybe I'm do soon.
- 59:57Speaker 3: You never know.
- 59:58Speaker 4: Some other dms that are coming. And these are so
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: funny to me. Ridiculous things you believed as a child,
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: This girl said, I genuinely believed that if I dug
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: deep enough in my backyard, I could reach the other
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: side of the world. I spent hours with a shovel,
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: convinced I'd end up in another country.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Reality hit when I barely got past the dirt.
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: Oh yeah, good luck without I.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: Mean, but let's think about that. I know you can't
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: do that, but we went straight down below.
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: Yeah you could.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: If we went straight down below and I could go
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: right through the earth, where would I end up right now?
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: That's too much. That's why I didn't do homework. Yeah, like,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: where would we be? Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Yeah, here's another one. Ridiculous things you believed as a kid.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: I believe that there was no color in the world
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: when black and white movies existed.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Oh, okay, that's funny.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: That is funny, you thought, just because there's I mean,
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: we've always had color TVs.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so we don't know, Well, we did Candice. Yeah, no,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: I don't even try it. No, I always had Color TV.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Was that a big day when they switched all that?
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: It was a big day, like Walter Cronkite, Yeah, who
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: was in the news. You don't act like you don't
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: know who that was. They'd be like, we're going to
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: change the color TV.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Now who was like thirty? What about this one?
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: I thought people singing on the radio were all in
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: one big place. Oh, and that they took turns going
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: to the microphone. I mean, it makes sense. When you're little,
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: you believe crazy stuff. And this was the last one
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: that got me because I kind of believed the same
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: thing as a kid, because I loved wrestling as a kid.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: This guy said, I believe that a professional wrestlers ran
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: into each other in public, like the grocery store or something,
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: that they'd immediately have to start fighting.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: That's true. I totally believe that.
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: That's hilarious.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Like I believe that they absolutely hated each other, that
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: this was like a lifestyle.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: It wasn't just like it was a thing.
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: You couldn't tell me it's in a show.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: No, it's not a show, Candid, Oh no, it's real.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: Oh are you serious, bro? What don't ruin my childhood?
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: Candie's Top stories on the Tents with Billy the Kid in.
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: The Morning only on the New Mix one two point nine.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: We got a chance to go to Disneyland and coming
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: up next and we are freezing in the studio.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Candis and I have blankets on.
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I don't know who is not freezing in the studio
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: right now because I'm fat. Do you have a hoodie on? Yeah?
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: Okay, see I forgot my hoodie in my car. It's
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: sixty one degrees in this studio right now.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: Really, my hands are cold, like I could literally put
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: mittens on.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, fine, I know. So I something's wrong
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: with our ac it's either ninety degrees or ninety below.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: One of the going on.
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: Yeah, cold in here. We do have a heat advisory today.
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: If you're going back to school in Dallas, Crowley, prosper
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: and all the districts headed back, it's gonna be around
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: ninety six by lunchtime, one a one. By the end
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: of your school day, that's going to feel closer to
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: one oh six. Uh So, just a heads up, guys.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: Dallas City officials are now considering putting up to ten
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: at custom designed billboards along park perimeters to generate more revenue.
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: So these signs would be designed to blend into park
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: environments and could give more shade or seating as part
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: of the structure. They're saying this could bring up to
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: ten million dollars in revenue per year. People in other
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: cities that have these already say they're more like an
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: art piece, that they're actually very pretty. They aren't just,
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: you know, a way to make money and help the
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: city's budget. But they're still trying to figure out which
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: parks these would actually go into and what the public
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: would think about this. So they kind of look like
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: like it almost like a tree. They provide shade, you
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: can see, you can put a like a table around them,
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: but then they're like billboards. So I guess we're trying
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: all things we can to hit these budgets.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Well, I mean, yeah, but do we really need that
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: we pay a ton of tax? Where are taxes going?
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: I don't know what's going on with all the budget
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: issues we have in school districts and cities, and it's
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: a lot.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I want to start putting billboards in classrooms.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: Wouldn't shock me, you know, I mean, like any way.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: To make money.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: We're just gonna put them on the trees now manywhere
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: we can't even finish thirty five.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: It's been in construction for seventy eight years.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: It has Dude six thirty five as well. Do you
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: guys remember last week I was telling you about that
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: one of one at Cooper Flag rookie debut patch autograph
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: card the MAVs are looking for. Well, it has been
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: found in Rhode Island. If you miss this, the MAVs
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: are offering this whole bounty for the card season tickets,
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: a crazy package of memorabilia and experiences. I think a
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: meet and greet with Cooper Flag. So Roadie Breakers, which
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: is a division of baseball cards of Rhode Island that
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: they opened trading card boxes for customers during their live streams. Well,
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: they pulled the card during a live break last night.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: We don't know if the owner plans to actually take
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: the maps up on this offer they're going to I
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: can't see that happening.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Yeah, let me go from Rhode Island to Dallas during
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: basketball to go to season you know every game.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Get no, they're gonna take the million dollars that it's worth.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: Yeah, and probably over a million dollars at this point.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: But interesting that this was less than a week ago
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: where they put out this bounty, the message on social media,
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: and now this card just got pulled.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Can we just believe though, that one card, a basketball card,
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: can go for a over a million dollars?
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: It's wild.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: We're not talking about like a babe Ruth. We're talking
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: about a card from Cooper Flag. And I love Cooper Flag.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: He's one of my favorite players. Put a million dollars
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: because it's because there's only one.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: There's only one, and he's autographed. It's out there, so
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: I'll keep you posted. But kind of in this same world,
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: this game shop is going viral and Wisconsin because they
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: just discovered almost one hundred copies of a never before
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: seen a version of Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: cartridges that were sitting in storage. So they actually bought
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: them a few years ago from a guy who just
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: had him in his garage. They were left untouched for
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: like twenty thirty years.
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: They said they were intended to be melted down for gold,
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: but it never made it to that point. I guess
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: there's a little maybe a little bit of gold inside.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: I didn't need the cartridge.
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: I didn't either, but they were sitting behind some Halloween
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: decorations in this storage unit. Three of them are going
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: to go up for auction, and there was one version
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: that actually sold recently for three million dollars.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Yeah. I used to love Oh Me too.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: That was like my favorite game. I get real close
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: to the TV. Now these kids have like Call of
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: Duty looks like they're really in war. Oh yeah, we
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: had a little pixelated duck. Yeah.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: If you touch the TV screen with the end of
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: the gun, you were like, okay, I went.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I get everything from here, and then the game
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: would stop and you have to take the cartridge.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: General, Yeah, blow into it.
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: Did you guys ever switch to the clay shooting option?
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: No?
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: Oh yeah, interesting, really yeah you did. I searched with
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: that all the time.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: What a nerd.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: True story? True story? All right, I'm gonna keep you
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: posting on that on Cannaslowpez. Those are your Texas top
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: stories on a mixus.
- 1:07:15Speaker 8: Is dirty Little Secret, Little.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: Mixed one or two point nine? All right, it's Bailly,
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: a kid Candaslowpez producer.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Who is here?
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: And if you have a secret, you have a confession.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: Get it off your chest at eight three, three, seven,
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: eight seven one or two nine. You could call us anytime.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: Some people like to set it up on my Instagram.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: You can always shoot me a DM at Billy on
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: the radio. If you feel more comfortable hitting up candas,
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: you can do that too, Yeah, at candas on air.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Whatever your confession may be, let's do it.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, I have a confession that has bothered
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: me for such a long time. And honestly, I didn't
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: even know if I should call in and say it
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: because not every school is like this, But.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: I gotta let you know I'm nervous.
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, okay. So I work as a lunch lady
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: for a few years at this middle school in a
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: major school district. But I'm not gonna say to that
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: of the district. Yeah, let me just say that the
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: people I worked with were completely disgusting. They ruined school
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: cafeteria food for me for life. I'm not saying every
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: school cafeteria, but I'm because I know that.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: There are a couple of amazing people out there.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: Who take food safety like very seriously, you know, but
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: where I work. But where I worked, it was literally unbelievable.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: I mean, okay, So, like the thing that like will
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: push me over the edge is that how many people
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: will like go to the bathroom and just come back
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: to work without washing their hands.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: All the time.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: We see that here and we're not in a cafeteria,
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: but yeah, they do, and we don't handle food.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: But I see, I call it. I call it stall
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: to the hall.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: At least for the rest of us who aren't in
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: the men's room. So we know who to stay away from.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: Well, I will tell you this can is stay away
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: from eighty percent of the men who work here. Yeah,
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: they do not wash their hands.
- 1:09:12Speaker 7: So when they want to hug up on you or
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: shake your hand, Candace, just know it's stalled to the hall.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: They skip the saink anyway, So stall to the hall,
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: they go, bathroom stall straight to the hall.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: So God, but this is so you would see this.
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: What's happened, and they go right back to handling the food.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: It was disgusting.
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: It's sick to watch it, you know. And so this
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: one woman that I used to work with, she came
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: to work every day smelling like cat peach, but she
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: had like ten twelve cats. Oh you know, the lady
- 1:09:45Speaker 6: with the cat.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: The smell follow her wherever she goes in her car.
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: Yeah, you could smell her before she even walked into
- 1:09:55Speaker 6: the kitchen. Yes. And there was another one that was
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: constantly like like always, like NonStop, she's got a cough,
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: it's a sniffle, she's sneezing, hack and she and she
- 1:10:08Speaker 6: would always say, oh, it's just allergies. I just have
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: allergies and take clarity in or something because yeah, getting
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: over the food and trying to serve the kids and stuff.
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: And I'll always be like, go home.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: She's like, oh, no, it's not I'm not sick, it's
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: just allergies. And it was just so disgusting. It was
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: one gross thing after another. So listen, I couldn't take
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: it anymore. I saw a couple of things that just
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: really pushed me over the edge. So I quit. But
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: before because I had said some things, you know, I
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: tried to tell I.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Was good, good, because you should.
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I wrote a letter. I wrote a letter to
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: the superintendent of this very major popular district food district
- 1:10:51Speaker 6: and let them know all that was going on. They
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: need to clean up the act. But you know, my
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: my niece goes to the school now, and I've made
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: sure her mom packed her lunch every day. Oh good, said,
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: you know that some of those same people. The cat lady,
- 1:11:08Speaker 6: she's still there.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: Well, I I get this because and I'm and I
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: believe it because when I was a kid, my elementary
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: school was nasty. I found a lee press on nail
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: in my food and I looked and I looked at
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: the nails of the lunch lady and she was missing one.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: What kind of food was it?
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Well, it was we called it some different down here.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: They call it traveling tacos. You call it you call it, well, right,
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: we call it walking tacos or traveling taco and it
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: was right in the mix.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: I was like, man, this meat is hard.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: That's not a free though.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: And it was a crylic nail. That's no, it was
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: not a free though. So good for you.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: You at least you said something and you didn't keep
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: it a total secret. But yeah, I know, most lunch
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: ladies are nice.
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: They need to pack their kids lunch.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Okay, sure, And school lunch doesn't hit like you used
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: to anyway.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: Don't square pizzas that we oh man, square pizza. It
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: wasn't even real dough.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: Now they have apples wrapped in cellophane.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we had bagels, mashed potatoes.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: We had the square pizza with chocolate milk, fried burritos.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: Yeah, well, ma'am and milk it is, but it kind
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: of worked.
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: I mean, kids like it.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: But you have the side of salmonilla. That's why our stomachs.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: That's why like Gen X and elder millennials, we don't
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: even this diarrhea lettuce doesn't even bother us.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: We grew up.
