- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome in, all you Faithfuls and Traders for another episode
- 0:13Speaker 1: of By Order of the Faithfuls. Wells Adams alongside Dolores
- 0:17Speaker 1: Catanya today, and we're about to be joined by someone
- 0:20Speaker 1: who's been on TV for a very long time. Born
- 0:22Speaker 1: and raised in Orange County, California, Stephen Cleddy was just
- 0:25Speaker 1: eighteen years old when he was cast on Laguna Beach,
- 0:28Speaker 1: The Real Orange County back in two thousand and four.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Then in two thousand and seven, he did something that's
- 0:33Speaker 1: very very hard to do, go from reality TV descripted television.
- 0:37Speaker 1: He was on One Tree Hill on the CW for
- 0:41Speaker 1: a bunch of seasons, and of course now he is
- 0:43Speaker 1: starring in season four of The Traders this year, and
- 0:46Speaker 1: he is faithful. All right, Welcome to the show, Steven.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Right off the bat, we have to congratulate you on
- 0:51Speaker 1: you and your wife's first pregnancy. Congratulations.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I appreciate that. Thank you man. We're super thrilled.
- 0:58Speaker 3: That's so the genetics that child. I cannot wait to
- 1:02Speaker 3: see what this comes out like.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Too kind, too kind?
- 1:05Speaker 4: Was it a Trader's baby?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah? You know what I think coming out of the castle,
- 1:12Speaker 2: you know, after being locked up for so long, Yeah,
- 1:15Speaker 2: we were pretty hyped up. We were excited to see our.
- 1:18Speaker 4: See each other. Yeah, I bet so. You know, magic
- 1:23Speaker 4: happens after you get home.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, this is a hard grow fonder, of course,
- 1:28Speaker 2: and it sure did there.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Oh I'm glad to hear it.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Do you know what you're having yet?
- 1:33Speaker 2: I do. I do. We're not sharing it, but I
- 1:35Speaker 2: do know. And yeah, we're pretty excited.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Are you going to do a gender reveal.
- 1:40Speaker 2: We're not going to do a gender reveal. We're just
- 1:42Speaker 2: kind of we're keeping it close for now, and it's
- 1:45Speaker 2: always been, you know, we just want to make sure,
- 1:47Speaker 2: you know, Alex is doing well and the baby's doing well.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Of course, going to focus on the health and it's
- 1:52Speaker 2: our first go so make sure we're you know, hitting
- 1:56Speaker 2: the benchmarks that we need to and and being responsible
- 1:59Speaker 2: parents and getting ready for this and so, as you know,
- 2:03Speaker 2: we were happy to share the news and and get
- 2:05Speaker 2: it out there, but as far as having a big
- 2:06Speaker 2: party or gender review or anything like that, we're we're
- 2:09Speaker 2: a little more low key, so we're not gonna do
- 2:11Speaker 2: anything like that.
- 2:12Speaker 4: You know. The truth is people are doing less and
- 2:14Speaker 4: less of.
- 2:15Speaker 1: That, you know.
- 2:16Speaker 2: We we also had a very low key ceremony for
- 2:19Speaker 2: our marriage, and that was kind of the plan all along.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It was. It was the first instinct was like, let's
- 2:24Speaker 2: have you know, should we just go get hitched, like
- 2:26Speaker 2: all right, we've got to have some family there, and
- 2:28Speaker 2: it kind of grew into something bigger and then we
- 2:30Speaker 2: brought it back to what it originally was, was like,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you know what, like we want to do, which is
- 2:35Speaker 2: just like is going to make this special for her
- 2:36Speaker 2: and I and I have to feel like we're running
- 2:39Speaker 2: around the whole time, you know, having to engage with
- 2:43Speaker 2: everybody at the plant. We want to be able to
- 2:45Speaker 2: have our fun and so yeah, we really toned it
- 2:47Speaker 2: down and it was. It was. It was an amazing day.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It was. It was a beautiful day. We just had
- 2:52Speaker 2: our immediate family. We just said civil ceremony. We went
- 2:56Speaker 2: and got pizza afterwards, and it was perfect.
- 2:59Speaker 4: I love that. So no wedding at all, there was
- 3:01Speaker 4: no big Sarah like, no.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Big ceremony, no we when we we we jetted off
- 3:05Speaker 2: to uh to France the next day and we celebrated there.
- 3:09Speaker 2: So yeah, it was it was perfect. It all worked out.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Oh God, I wish I had done that.
- 3:13Speaker 3: We spent so much freaking money getting ideas. You know what, Well,
- 3:17Speaker 3: this is because I'm recently engaged, and thank you. So
- 3:24Speaker 3: you know, being in the public eye, as you know,
- 3:26Speaker 3: nothing's really private, and I'm more of a private person,
- 3:31Speaker 3: and I get silly, like wells could tell you, I
- 3:33Speaker 3: get silly about being like affectionate in front of people
- 3:36Speaker 3: or even the thought of it. So I want to
- 3:38Speaker 3: kind of have it close to home too. So that
- 3:41Speaker 3: just gave me a little inspo. So thank you on that.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Of course.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Of course, if if your kid grows up and wants
- 3:48Speaker 1: to be on TV, what will be your advice to them?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Oh? Wow, great question. I would just want to make
- 3:55Speaker 2: sure that it was something that they really wanted to do,
- 3:58Speaker 2: something that they were very passion about, and how to plan,
- 4:01Speaker 2: like what's your five year plan, what's your ten year plan,
- 4:04Speaker 2: what's your plan B, what's your plan C? Because you know,
- 4:07Speaker 2: I think that, look, if you want to go out
- 4:11Speaker 2: and just for one experience, go on a show like
- 4:13Speaker 2: Traders and and just that's going to be it, and
- 4:15Speaker 2: that's your plan, that that's great, But you know, it's
- 4:19Speaker 2: it's tough out there, and I think that if if
- 4:21Speaker 2: you're going into it like, oh, I don't know, Like
- 4:23Speaker 2: I just kind of want to, like, you know, I'm
- 4:24Speaker 2: going to be in entertainment and We'll see where it
- 4:26Speaker 2: goes and not really have a game plan like it's
- 4:28Speaker 2: too cut thrown out there, you guys know, like this
- 4:30Speaker 2: is it's you know, the business doesn't have time for that,
- 4:33Speaker 2: and you got to be a hustler. You got to
- 4:36Speaker 2: be ready to get after it, and you've got to
- 4:37Speaker 2: have a good plan and stick to your guns cause
- 4:39Speaker 2: you're going to get in the washing machine that is Hollywood,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and you know it'll spit you out when it wants to,
- 4:45Speaker 2: not when you choose to or how you choose to.
- 4:47Speaker 2: So I would just want to make sure that there's
- 4:50Speaker 2: a plan there and there's a passion behind it so
- 4:52Speaker 2: that there's a real drive. And then other than that,
- 4:54Speaker 2: like hey, if there's a one off where it's like
- 4:56Speaker 2: I really data, just like I'm gonna go be a lawyer,
- 4:59Speaker 2: but first I to go do traders. What can I
- 5:02Speaker 2: say there? You know it's like, well I get it,
- 5:05Speaker 2: So I get it. You're you're you're going for it.
- 5:08Speaker 4: This child's going to be so normal. I can't.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You know.
- 5:12Speaker 3: When my son asked to become an actor. He came
- 5:15Speaker 3: home from football practice. He wasn't built at the time
- 5:17Speaker 3: like the rest of the kids, and I was like,
- 5:19Speaker 3: go do your don't get the out of my That's
- 5:22Speaker 3: what I said to him. However, a month later, we
- 5:26Speaker 3: were filming a movie that nothing ever came out of
- 5:28Speaker 3: in la because I did let him see for himself.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Sure, so the old you know, filming a movie that
- 5:35Speaker 2: nothing comes from it, no one ever necessarily sees it,
- 5:38Speaker 2: or the idea of what you read in a script,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and then eventually what made the screen and if it
- 5:42Speaker 2: ever even made it to anybody's screen. Oh, it's a
- 5:45Speaker 2: fun it's a fun world.
- 5:46Speaker 4: It was a m Yeah, exactly.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You live in a very unique world. Very few people
- 5:53Speaker 1: have been able to be reality stars. And then on
- 5:56Speaker 1: the unscripted stars, unscripted and scripted, do you like one
- 6:00Speaker 1: better than the other?
- 6:02Speaker 2: I liked the scripted, you know. I even going on
- 6:05Speaker 2: Traders was a big move for me. But I always
- 6:07Speaker 2: wanted to work in entertainment. I liked creative writing, I
- 6:11Speaker 2: liked performing. I wasn't going to tell anybody that in
- 6:14Speaker 2: high school, middle school because that would be in my
- 6:17Speaker 2: eyes at the time, social suicide and I was like,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I want to have fun and and and you know,
- 6:22Speaker 2: go to parties and mingle with friends, and so I
- 6:25Speaker 2: wasn't gonna, you know, do musical theater during that time.
- 6:27Speaker 2: But the interesting thing is when MTV came around with
- 6:31Speaker 2: Laguna Beach, it was that moment where you're in, you know,
- 6:34Speaker 2: your second semester of high school. You're you're done with
- 6:37Speaker 2: it right, You're ready to move on. And I didn't
- 6:39Speaker 2: want to conform to the trends or or I wasn't.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I wasn't necessarily as worried what everyone was thinking in
- 6:44Speaker 2: my high school at that point. So while in freshman,
- 6:48Speaker 2: if it was freshman year, I would have never done it.
- 6:50Speaker 2: But senior year it was time to move on, and
- 6:52Speaker 2: so I took the leap, knowing that all my guy
- 6:54Speaker 2: friends are gonna be like, what are you doing, dude,
- 6:56Speaker 2: that's so lame. I was like, no, you understand, like.
- 6:59Speaker 1: They do that.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Did they say that to you?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, I remember. I remind my buddy this all
- 7:04Speaker 2: the time. One of my first scenes sitting outside of
- 7:07Speaker 2: a cafe with Lauren here in the Gunda Beach and
- 7:10Speaker 2: one of my buddies, A couple buddies drive by and
- 7:12Speaker 2: they just roll down the windows and they're just yelling
- 7:14Speaker 2: stuff that I can't repeat. And I was so already
- 7:19Speaker 2: so nervous that I was taking that. I was like,
- 7:20Speaker 2: oh my gosh, here we go. But at the end
- 7:22Speaker 2: of the day, again, you know, I had a plan.
- 7:25Speaker 2: There was things I wanted to do, and and you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: I thought, honestly, it would be more on the sports side.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I thought, you know, I grew up watching Sports Center
- 7:33Speaker 2: when you had Dan Patrick and Keith Oberman, and they
- 7:35Speaker 2: would the way that they would talk about the highlights
- 7:37Speaker 2: and and you know, they would make it such an
- 7:39Speaker 2: entertaining show. You know, something like that appealed to me,
- 7:43Speaker 2: and that's why I transitioned right into hosting with MTV.
- 7:46Speaker 2: But I took some acting classes as well as well,
- 7:48Speaker 2: and I'd done a little bit of that in middle school,
- 7:50Speaker 2: and when I started to take it seriously, I just
- 7:53Speaker 2: kind of caught the bug and I was like, all right,
- 7:55Speaker 2: there's some things I want to do here. So thankfully,
- 7:57Speaker 2: it's it's been a good run so far. It's been
- 7:58Speaker 2: good to me. It's up and ups and downs, for sure.
- 8:01Speaker 2: You know. Early on, I had a lot given to
- 8:04Speaker 2: me because I was on Laguna Beach. You know that
- 8:06Speaker 2: was not deserved. You know, we were plucked from complete
- 8:09Speaker 2: obscurity and thrown on the show into MTV when MTV
- 8:13Speaker 2: was near its peak. And you know, I'm proud to
- 8:16Speaker 2: say that all these years later, it's you know, I've
- 8:19Speaker 2: been around the business and ridden all sorts of highs
- 8:21Speaker 2: and lows and grinded through it, you know. And to
- 8:24Speaker 2: sit here now and I have a second season of
- 8:26Speaker 2: an independent show that my partner James Lafey, and I
- 8:29Speaker 2: shot together and we got it on Hulu. To you know,
- 8:32Speaker 2: be able to even be relevant in a way where
- 8:34Speaker 2: someone would consider me to be on Traders, I think
- 8:37Speaker 2: is super special. I feel really grateful for that. And
- 8:40Speaker 2: Traders was the show I had to come back. And
- 8:42Speaker 2: do you know, there's been a lot of them that
- 8:44Speaker 2: have been offered over the years, and this one was
- 8:48Speaker 2: was the one.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Is there any other ones that you would do? Like
- 8:51Speaker 3: I was looking at Special Forces. I think you could
- 8:54Speaker 3: do it. You're a very fit and athletic and I'm
- 8:57Speaker 3: just like, but there are people that are fit in
- 8:59Speaker 3: athletic on it and.
- 9:00Speaker 4: They didn't not do well. And I mean.
- 9:03Speaker 3: There's just a few other shows. Is there any other
- 9:05Speaker 3: ones in your site?
- 9:08Speaker 2: You know, after after doing Traders, you would think that
- 9:10Speaker 2: I was I probably thought I signed up for special
- 9:12Speaker 2: Forces based on my just like mission aggressiveness, like okay,
- 9:15Speaker 2: here to tackle these missions. This is where I'm gonna
- 9:19Speaker 2: get into this game. But yeah, you know I always
- 9:24Speaker 2: said that look the the MTV kind of personal life
- 9:29Speaker 2: and sensationalizing it with everything that was again we were kids.
- 9:33Speaker 2: That was going on in my life at that time.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It really scared me away for for a long time.
- 9:38Speaker 2: And I probably you know, you psychologically could probably look
- 9:42Speaker 2: back and be like, all right, maybe there's some moves
- 9:43Speaker 2: here of why he's he's dipping in a scripted and
- 9:45Speaker 2: hiding behind some characters rather than continuing to be you
- 9:48Speaker 2: know yourself. And I you know, I just I wasn't
- 9:54Speaker 2: gonna do anything that was gonna be around my personal
- 9:56Speaker 2: life because I saw the way mt BE twisted it
- 9:58Speaker 2: and why there was plenty of truth that they had
- 10:01Speaker 2: their story based in truth, but the way that they
- 10:04Speaker 2: could twist it and uh that it just scarred me
- 10:08Speaker 2: for a while. So I think when the focus is
- 10:10Speaker 2: on something like a competition and not who you're who
- 10:14Speaker 2: you are personally necessarily, which is the other thing that
- 10:17Speaker 2: that drew me to the show. That's where I could
- 10:20Speaker 2: see myself, you know, doing another show. I'm a competitive person,
- 10:25Speaker 2: athletic and as you see, you know, trying to tackle
- 10:28Speaker 2: these missions. So if there's something it's like an amazing race,
- 10:30Speaker 2: you know, special Forces. Uh, that's definitely something I would
- 10:33Speaker 2: consider that.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I'm I want to do more. I love Traders so much.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I want to do Traders again. I'm hoping I miss it.
- 10:42Speaker 3: It's hard to watch because I miss it so much.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I hope they run it back with with
- 10:49Speaker 2: a bunch of people or maybe there's yeah, there's I mean,
- 10:53Speaker 2: it's it's interesting going out there. You know, obviously the
- 10:57Speaker 2: build up to the first day and and and you
- 11:00Speaker 2: know you're kind of locked away for a few days.
- 11:04Speaker 2: You got everything taken away from me. You know, I'm
- 11:07Speaker 2: an active person, so I was getting a little stir crazy.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, once the game got going and the momentum
- 11:12Speaker 2: picked up, It's not a lot of fun.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Being in that room, is right, it is. It is rough.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I'm just curious because you come from such a kind
- 11:23Speaker 3: of a different thing than the housewives. What did you
- 11:26Speaker 3: think when you met the housewives, what were they like
- 11:29Speaker 3: to They're a little crazy, They're they're wild, They're pretty intense,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and I know you're like so nice, so I'm curious
- 11:35Speaker 3: what you think of everyone.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Or fully intimidating? Are you kidding me? I was like, man,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I'm out of my league here. These these are reality
- 11:42Speaker 2: TV vets, these are big personalities. I'm just this kid
- 11:46Speaker 2: from Laguna Beach that was on a reality show twenty
- 11:48Speaker 2: years ago popping in here. And so I was, yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I went in there very intimidated and also impressed. I
- 11:57Speaker 2: knew that there were gonna be some big personal I'm
- 11:59Speaker 2: not familiar with the housewives going in. I know a
- 12:02Speaker 2: little bit and my my wife coached me up. But
- 12:06Speaker 2: once I got in there and met them, I was like, damn,
- 12:08Speaker 2: Like they came to play and they play their roles
- 12:12Speaker 2: very very well. So I have I already had respect
- 12:15Speaker 2: for what they do. And I know, I mean that's
- 12:18Speaker 2: the other thing. It's like people when I was getting
- 12:20Speaker 2: started in reality people were looking down on it like crazy, right.
- 12:24Speaker 4: They did, especially trained actors.
- 12:26Speaker 3: They were like like, how are you getting more camera tiet?
- 12:32Speaker 3: Like how are you getting these you know, to be
- 12:34Speaker 3: on TV, then we're not. And I'm a trained actor.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I went to school for it.
- 12:38Speaker 4: I'm from here, I'm from there, and I've been doing
- 12:40Speaker 4: this all my life. But yeah, you're on TV. They
- 12:42Speaker 4: hated us for it.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I get. I mean it was like people would say, like,
- 12:46Speaker 2: this is the deathbed of the art, you know, and trying.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I remember that stepping into acting classes when I was,
- 12:52Speaker 2: you know, coming off of this reality show. It was
- 12:54Speaker 2: it was a bit of a leap back then. But
- 12:58Speaker 2: I to me, you know, yeah, look, at the end
- 13:01Speaker 2: of the day, even those jobs I've you know, I've
- 13:04Speaker 2: read about the schedules for the Housewives. It's it's it's crazy.
- 13:08Speaker 2: It's a full time job and and for anybody to
- 13:10Speaker 2: look down on it is ridiculous. So again I had
- 13:14Speaker 2: respect already going in, but then meeting them and just
- 13:17Speaker 2: seeing the way that they handle their roles and play there,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you know, played the version of themselves that they play
- 13:23Speaker 2: is impressive, and so I really enjoyed them and getting
- 13:27Speaker 2: to know that. I mean, look look at our our traders.
- 13:31Speaker 2: You know, you've got Lisa, You've got Candace. I mean,
- 13:33Speaker 2: what great personalities to put up in the turret and
- 13:36Speaker 2: and Candace is as she says, she's main character energy
- 13:41Speaker 2: and Lisa is just an icon. So and the jet
- 13:44Speaker 2: position between them and Rob right, it's just it's it's
- 13:47Speaker 2: very well done.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Let's talk about the show. You know, if I was
- 14:03Speaker 1: on this season, you would would be spiking my spidy
- 14:07Speaker 1: sense a little bit because you have been on reality
- 14:09Speaker 1: TV before. But then also you are an amazing actor
- 14:13Speaker 1: who can pretend to be something else. In my mind
- 14:15Speaker 1: out of like, you'd be perfect to be a trader.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Did you want to be a trader or did you
- 14:19Speaker 1: always want to be a faithful?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Yeah? You know, I there was. It was tough because
- 14:26Speaker 2: I wanted to be a faithful. I wanted to play
- 14:27Speaker 2: the game as a faithful. I did not want to
- 14:29Speaker 2: go and try to lie the whole time and have
- 14:34Speaker 2: to carry I guess the weight. I wasn't sure exactly
- 14:36Speaker 2: how I'd handle the weight of being a trader, as
- 14:41Speaker 2: I was already feeling again. I talked a little bit
- 14:44Speaker 2: about being intimidated stepping onto that set with all the
- 14:47Speaker 2: reality vets and not having done reality in a while.
- 14:50Speaker 2: So I really wanted to play the games of faithful.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And it's funny looking back, there was always a little bit.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, being a trader would
- 14:59Speaker 2: be really fun. Definitely saw that side of it. But
- 15:01Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, I think I'm best
- 15:03Speaker 2: served being a faithful and I felt like that's how
- 15:07Speaker 2: I can make it the furthest So that's what I
- 15:10Speaker 2: went with. I did say early on, I was like, look,
- 15:14Speaker 2: I want to make this clear, like I can handle
- 15:16Speaker 2: being a trader. If someone's going to recruit me to
- 15:17Speaker 2: be a trader.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, let me ask you this, what was your strategy
- 15:26Speaker 1: going into the show, because if you were like, Okay,
- 15:28Speaker 1: I'm going to be a faithful. Was it to lay low,
- 15:31Speaker 1: was it to create alliances? Was it to be you know, boisterous.
- 15:36Speaker 1: What was your strategy coming in?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah? You know, obviously, once you sign up to do
- 15:41Speaker 2: the show, you're trying to consume you know, past players
- 15:44Speaker 2: experiences and just learn as much about the game. You know.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I really kind of dove into it and was like,
- 15:49Speaker 2: all right, how can I make it as far as possible?
- 15:51Speaker 2: You know, I want to make it to the end.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I want to win. You know, I didn't. I didn't
- 15:56Speaker 2: go there to be a loud voice in the room,
- 15:58Speaker 2: to try to fight for camera time or anything that
- 16:00Speaker 2: I went there, you know, basically to challenge myself and
- 16:04Speaker 2: see see how I can handle the situation. And so
- 16:08Speaker 2: I wanted to go in and know that I can
- 16:11Speaker 2: excel in missions. So I felt like, if there's one
- 16:14Speaker 2: thing that the Traders and Faithfuls can agree on, obviously,
- 16:16Speaker 2: it's getting that price fund as high as possible. And
- 16:19Speaker 2: they're going to like the people that are good at
- 16:21Speaker 2: the missions. So to me, even though that's not necessarily
- 16:25Speaker 2: everyone's part of like a favorite part of the game,
- 16:27Speaker 2: I saw that as a spot where I can excel
- 16:30Speaker 2: and play to my strength. And so we're going to
- 16:32Speaker 2: speak up there be a loud voice outside which is
- 16:36Speaker 2: during the missions, so that it's memorable. And then the
- 16:39Speaker 2: Traders when they're thinking about who they need to act,
- 16:41Speaker 2: hopefully they're going to have that thought, well, he's really
- 16:44Speaker 2: good at handling the mission, so we should probably keep
- 16:46Speaker 2: him around, which did pay off, which I was so
- 16:49Speaker 2: happy to see. At the end of episode four, Rob's
- 16:52Speaker 2: putting my name up and then Lisa and Candics were like,
- 16:54Speaker 2: he's a mission guy, we should keep him around.
- 16:56Speaker 4: So and then I think you're too stop.
- 17:00Speaker 3: They wanted you there for a few reasons, I'd say,
- 17:03Speaker 3: and you were very nice.
- 17:05Speaker 2: But I also yeah, I also was not. I wanted
- 17:07Speaker 2: to sit back and and and just try to learn
- 17:12Speaker 2: who everybody was. I wanted to just have a moment
- 17:15Speaker 2: with everybody. Wasn't you know, gonna jump to any conclusions
- 17:19Speaker 2: on anybody and doing that it was going to be
- 17:21Speaker 2: more observing than trying to rally the troops. You know,
- 17:26Speaker 2: I was engaging in conversations with everybody. It's interesting, you know,
- 17:29Speaker 2: of course, how much is shot all your different conversations
- 17:32Speaker 2: and even moments that are you know that people I'm
- 17:35Speaker 2: sure would like to know happened that aren't in the show.
- 17:39Speaker 2: You know, it would be interesting to see like a
- 17:41Speaker 2: reel of some of the scenes. Right, It's like they
- 17:44Speaker 2: they they have all sorts of stuff. So I just
- 17:47Speaker 2: wanted to sit back and observe more people. I knew
- 17:50Speaker 2: that there was going to be a big personality, so
- 17:51Speaker 2: it's gonna let them do their thing. And you know what,
- 17:54Speaker 2: it seemed like early on in the game, everyone's looking
- 17:57Speaker 2: for just something to pin on somebody that's not themselves.
- 18:01Speaker 2: There is the all right, united, the faithful Front, right,
- 18:04Speaker 2: we're finding the traders, but there's also self preservation and
- 18:09Speaker 2: so in that, you know, sitting back and letting the
- 18:13Speaker 2: louder voices in the room kind of, you know, bury themselves.
- 18:16Speaker 2: In some cases, that was that was the part of
- 18:19Speaker 2: my strategy.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about the loudest voice in the room
- 18:22Speaker 1: and them burying themselves in Michael rapampor you.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Know what, was the best looking, more of the smartest,
- 18:29Speaker 3: the dopest, faith dopest ever. So I spoke to Michael
- 18:33Speaker 3: before he left, because you know, you do, you call
- 18:36Speaker 3: someone and that had been there before and and I said, Mike,
- 18:41Speaker 3: just be quiet, like try you're very smart.
- 18:44Speaker 4: He's smart.
- 18:45Speaker 3: He clocked a few of the traders right out of
- 18:47Speaker 3: the box, right, and he couldn't. He just couldn't do it.
- 18:51Speaker 3: And he played himself, which is fine to do. I mean,
- 18:54Speaker 3: you did too, right, You went in there playing yourself
- 18:58Speaker 3: and uh.
- 18:59Speaker 4: It, I knew it. It was gonna hurt him. It
- 19:02Speaker 4: was good.
- 19:03Speaker 3: It's not, but that was good for you and it
- 19:05Speaker 3: was good for the game. And actually it was good TV.
- 19:08Speaker 4: We loved watching Michael unravel at the table.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Incredibly entertaining. And he's not at the table if he's
- 19:13Speaker 2: at the dinner table. Just the way he's eating his
- 19:15Speaker 2: food is fascinating to people, as you can see.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Okay, we got to talk about that talk. Is it
- 19:20Speaker 1: always like that? Is he always shoveling food down his gullet?
- 19:24Speaker 3: Oh?
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he was. I mean I think it's in at
- 19:26Speaker 2: least two episodes. Oh I know, but yeah, it was
- 19:29Speaker 2: so funny. I remember a couple of times. You know,
- 19:31Speaker 2: you're in the breakfast room there, even if you're coming
- 19:32Speaker 2: back from a mission and you're gathering lunch, uh and
- 19:35Speaker 2: he's just, you know, shoveling stuff on a plate, and
- 19:38Speaker 2: he's just like he's talking to some of the camera guys.
- 19:40Speaker 2: He's like, all right, which one you which one? He
- 19:41Speaker 2: is gonna follow me and watch me eat. It's like
- 19:44Speaker 2: they didn't think going to film school, this is what
- 19:47Speaker 2: you're gonna be doing, you know, ten years later it's
- 19:49Speaker 2: filming some schmut from uhh, shove the food in his mouth.
- 19:53Speaker 2: So I think he knew what he was doing. And look,
- 19:56Speaker 2: I think he also that is what he does, right,
- 19:58Speaker 2: it's and I think he was he was happy to
- 20:01Speaker 2: show that, knowing that.
- 20:02Speaker 3: He's unapologetic about who he is and we love him
- 20:05Speaker 3: for it. So but did you think that when he
- 20:10Speaker 3: said that to Culton, that he was doing it in
- 20:12Speaker 3: a malicious way.
- 20:13Speaker 4: I didn't see it like that.
- 20:16Speaker 2: No, you know, it took me a second to to
- 20:19Speaker 2: truly pick up because there was there's so much going
- 20:21Speaker 2: back and forth, right, and I remember when he when
- 20:24Speaker 2: he said that, it felt like a low blow, but
- 20:29Speaker 2: I knew he didn't just come out of nowhere was
- 20:31Speaker 2: saying it, right. He obviously wanted to call him out
- 20:35Speaker 2: for keeping a secret, so he's you know, I think
- 20:38Speaker 2: he's he was able to say whatever he felt like
- 20:42Speaker 2: he wanted to say in that moment. I think he
- 20:44Speaker 2: knew that he was maybe pushing a button a little
- 20:47Speaker 2: bit with him as they were getting pretty heated. But yeah, look,
- 20:51Speaker 2: I think it got very very emotional in there, and
- 20:55Speaker 2: a lot of people were speaking back to Michael as
- 20:59Speaker 2: as he was just talking and talking and talking. And
- 21:01Speaker 2: that was the the tough thing about that round table.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I mean, he he we would try to you know,
- 21:06Speaker 2: there's a lot of heat on rawn. You know, we're
- 21:10Speaker 2: obviously Tippany had already left, but we were trying to
- 21:13Speaker 2: work through different people's you know, facts and pieces of evidence,
- 21:17Speaker 2: and then Michael would just kind of take it and
- 21:19Speaker 2: be like, you know what. I know we're all talking
- 21:20Speaker 2: about this, but we should be looking at this guy.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a lot of.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Jam Jam and Michael. They had a lot of back
- 21:26Speaker 2: and forth as well. I feel like, look, Michael knows
- 21:32Speaker 2: what he's doing as your Sandy's a smart He's a
- 21:33Speaker 2: smart guy.
- 21:34Speaker 4: He's smart.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I kind of thought he was ready to get out
- 21:37Speaker 2: of the game, to be honest with you, because he
- 21:40Speaker 2: had such a he was being so loud and and
- 21:45Speaker 2: and and and taking over a lot of conversations and
- 21:48Speaker 2: being and being you know, Michael, even though when he
- 21:50Speaker 2: was talking about his wife was like, hey, just just
- 21:52Speaker 2: make sure you just try to stay quiet, you know this,
- 21:54Speaker 2: and he just he wasn't going to do that. He
- 21:57Speaker 2: was going to be true to himself and and I
- 21:58Speaker 2: think that's what he did. But I remember he talked about,
- 22:00Speaker 2: you know, Game seven of the NBA Championship was about
- 22:04Speaker 2: to go about to happen right right around that day,
- 22:07Speaker 2: and he's like, he's like, see, we're gonna we gotta
- 22:08Speaker 2: watch the game. How are we gonna watch the game?
- 22:11Speaker 2: And I felt like at that roundtable, the way he
- 22:13Speaker 2: just started just unloading and and and was not holding
- 22:18Speaker 2: anything back and was happy to push buttons with everybody.
- 22:21Speaker 2: He was already pushing everyone's buttons. Now he was like,
- 22:23Speaker 2: all right, I don't feel like I really like, I'm
- 22:26Speaker 2: gonna just take it to the next step. And he
- 22:28Speaker 2: did that, and I was like, all right, it's almost
- 22:30Speaker 2: like he wants out of this game at this point.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Maybe he wanted to go watch Game seven.
- 22:35Speaker 3: So I don't think anyone even thought he was a trader.
- 22:37Speaker 3: They just wanted him out.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, yeah, I think that he was so
- 22:42Speaker 2: voisterous at a point where this he can't be a
- 22:46Speaker 2: trader because he would just be the worst trader. By
- 22:50Speaker 2: leaning so hard and being so loud, you're drawing so
- 22:52Speaker 2: much attention to yourself where you are in fact annoying people,
- 22:55Speaker 2: and people want you out for that reason alone. So yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 2: a lot of people, they weren't necessarily thinking he was
- 23:02Speaker 2: a trader. Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I mean, and you guys have the faithfuls at least
- 23:06Speaker 1: have taken a little bit of criticism of knowing that
- 23:09Speaker 1: someone's really not a trader and still voting them out
- 23:12Speaker 1: just because they were unpopular or annoying. I mean, it
- 23:14Speaker 1: happened in our season, Sandoval was doing the exact same thing.
- 23:17Speaker 1: He was very he was very loud, he was he
- 23:19Speaker 1: was trying to get glorious. He was also trying to
- 23:21Speaker 1: get Krishelle out a lot, and he was just kind
- 23:23Speaker 1: of distracting everybody. And so obviously traders love that because
- 23:28Speaker 1: that's distracting everyone away from what everyone's doing. You're keeping
- 23:32Speaker 1: the eye, your eye off the ball. But the truth
- 23:35Speaker 1: of the matter is is that you guys all voted
- 23:36Speaker 1: him out knowing that you weren't a step closer to
- 23:41Speaker 1: getting a trader.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Now frustrating part. I mean, I stuck with my vote
- 23:45Speaker 2: for Ron, you know, because we had the most evidence
- 23:48Speaker 2: on Ron, and and it's and it was going Ron's way.
- 23:53Speaker 2: It was just like the first round table. We should
- 23:55Speaker 2: have had a trader on the first round table. I
- 23:57Speaker 2: don't know if you guys know this, but we were
- 23:58Speaker 2: all the that the votes were swinging for Donna as
- 24:01Speaker 2: you saw in the second round table and went heavily
- 24:04Speaker 2: against her. Yeah, it should have gone that way the
- 24:06Speaker 2: first round table. But here comes Ron out of who
- 24:09Speaker 2: was pretty quiet, all of a sudden, he he he
- 24:13Speaker 2: speaks up, and he's he's got some hard facts and
- 24:15Speaker 2: to his credit, they're legit. I mean obviously, as we said, yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 2: seeing that play out and seeing what he saw, I
- 24:23Speaker 2: feel really bad for Ron, and I mean, he saw
- 24:26Speaker 2: evidence and he went with it. So it was tough
- 24:28Speaker 2: that he brought it up there at the roundtable and
- 24:30Speaker 2: not beforehand so we could talk about it because he
- 24:32Speaker 2: knew everyone was going and he's he was spending some
- 24:35Speaker 2: time against is kind of what hurt Donna. She started
- 24:38Speaker 2: to get a little more quiet in a corner a
- 24:40Speaker 2: bit and not overly engaging even if somebody engages you,
- 24:46Speaker 2: because it's one thing obviously to be sitting quiet in
- 24:48Speaker 2: a corner, but when you know, you start engaging a conversation.
- 24:51Speaker 2: And so Ron and her we're kind of hanging out.
- 24:53Speaker 2: So the fact that we all were on Donna and
- 24:55Speaker 2: then Ron was with her, it it put on Ron's back.
- 24:59Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, I think going into that one, we
- 25:01Speaker 2: we knew we had to kind of clear the table
- 25:03Speaker 2: of Ron and Michael was not going to let that happens.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Camera right back to Michael and be like, hey, guys,
- 25:12Speaker 2: I'm here, I may or may not want to go
- 25:14Speaker 2: watch Game seven, So yeah, let's go down.
- 25:17Speaker 1: But you know, you know, Ron. He I feel like,
- 25:20Speaker 1: changed a lot of minds in this most recent round table,
- 25:25Speaker 1: and he employed a really good tactic of being like,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I'm going to go around and tell everyone what I
- 25:29Speaker 1: like about them, because this is gonna be the last
- 25:31Speaker 1: time I speak to them. And then all of a sudden,
- 25:33Speaker 1: everyone changed and was like, I don't think I don't
- 25:36Speaker 1: think he is a trader. In that moment, were you
- 25:41Speaker 1: still on Ron or were you believing that he was
- 25:46Speaker 1: actually faithful.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it was tough. It was one of those moments where,
- 25:54Speaker 2: if you know, having swung towards Portia in that first
- 25:58Speaker 2: round table really affected my strategy rest of the game
- 26:00Speaker 2: because and then also kind of towards Tiffany because I
- 26:03Speaker 2: was going to go for Ron, but then stuff with
- 26:06Speaker 2: Tiffany came up. I had a little something that happened
- 26:08Speaker 2: with her where I was like, okay, you know what,
- 26:10Speaker 2: she's giving me a little bit suspicion. So I moved
- 26:12Speaker 2: off of Ron and and now it's like, okay, poor show.
- 26:15Speaker 2: That was a fail, Tiffany fail. I was like, look,
- 26:18Speaker 2: just stick to your guns. Don't let other people sway you.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Stick with the evidence in your mind that you feel
- 26:23Speaker 2: like is the strongest and go from there. So I did,
- 26:26Speaker 2: and and and with Ron, there is that time after
- 26:29Speaker 2: you've written their name down and as you know, you know,
- 26:31Speaker 2: as they're going around and there they're speaking to everybody,
- 26:35Speaker 2: or even after you you give your explanation of why
- 26:37Speaker 2: you voted for them, that they look you in the
- 26:38Speaker 2: eye and they say something. And I felt like that's
- 26:40Speaker 2: when I would get a real honest read, so I did.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Before he got up there, I was like, oh no,
- 26:46Speaker 2: I think I think Ron very well. Is it faithful?
- 26:49Speaker 2: And there was suspicion before, but again at that point
- 26:52Speaker 2: he had the most heat and we had to clear
- 26:54Speaker 2: it to move on to the next thing because this
- 26:56Speaker 2: we are doing so many favors for the traders far
- 27:00Speaker 2: in this game, they are kicking our ass right. There
- 27:03Speaker 2: were just the in fighting and and and I mean,
- 27:06Speaker 2: it's yeah, it's it's bad. So I was like, look,
- 27:09Speaker 2: I'm just gonna go. I'm going to clear this with Ron.
- 27:11Speaker 2: And and then as we as it was great his
- 27:14Speaker 2: exit going around and saying a little bit about everybody.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And then also I don't know if they the show
- 27:18Speaker 2: because I actually haven't seen it yet, but when he
- 27:20Speaker 2: when he stands up there and just his speech there
- 27:23Speaker 2: was was amazing too. He thanked everybody and the crew
- 27:26Speaker 2: in the background and talked about the experience. He's he's
- 27:28Speaker 2: a sweetheart. Ron was was awesome and it was it
- 27:30Speaker 2: was tough to see him go, but he had to.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Unfortunately, you guys keep talking in that roundtable of like, well,
- 27:37Speaker 1: we have to vote out Ron, so we can at
- 27:39Speaker 1: least close this chapter and get clarity. What was the
- 27:42Speaker 1: clarity that you were going to find out if Ron
- 27:45Speaker 1: ended up being faithful?
- 27:48Speaker 4: That's a good question.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that the evidence Okay, just those that
- 27:54Speaker 2: were really pressing on Ron, those that were really gunning
- 27:59Speaker 2: for him, we could probably raise some suspicion on them
- 28:02Speaker 2: now that that voting record, And then you can also
- 28:07Speaker 2: look at the people that were not going to vote
- 28:09Speaker 2: for Ron, and we're saying, you, look, I don't I
- 28:12Speaker 2: know he's got all the there. There's there's a long
- 28:14Speaker 2: list of things that have happened at this point, but like,
- 28:16Speaker 2: I really do believe that he's a faithful So I
- 28:18Speaker 2: think those folks we can also deduce are probably faithful
- 28:21Speaker 2: because if you're a trader, you're most likely happy to
- 28:24Speaker 2: see Ron go and continue to to keep you know,
- 28:27Speaker 2: having to their faithful, you know, be asked, So, yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 2: I think it's it's that voting record ultimately, and that
- 28:35Speaker 2: does become a you know a big part of the show,
- 28:37Speaker 2: as you guys know.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Oh for for sure.
- 28:40Speaker 3: But you know it does weigh heavy on you when
- 28:42Speaker 3: you vote out of faithful, right as you're saying, like
- 28:44Speaker 3: with Porsche and Tiffany, it doesn't.
- 28:47Speaker 1: You don't only feel Michael though.
- 28:49Speaker 4: No, not Michael, I Saiffany.
- 28:53Speaker 3: But but you don't only feel bad. Especially Tiffany was heartbreaking.
- 28:58Speaker 3: But but then you kind of kind of like lose
- 29:00Speaker 3: a little confidence in yourself and what the other people
- 29:03Speaker 3: that actually really gunned for them. So is there any
- 29:07Speaker 3: point where like your emotions took over because mine did
- 29:10Speaker 3: many times in the game that where you said, like,
- 29:13Speaker 3: I'm done, I just want to go home. I don't
- 29:15Speaker 3: I don't want to hurt another person. I don't want
- 29:17Speaker 3: to vote out another person. This is killing me.
- 29:20Speaker 2: You know. The Tiffany vote was emotional for me, and
- 29:23Speaker 2: I was surprised how quickly the game got emotional. Part
- 29:28Speaker 2: of that was just the way I had conversations with
- 29:30Speaker 2: her privately, also the way she was speaking at the
- 29:33Speaker 2: roundtable obviously very eloquent and her her personal story. You
- 29:38Speaker 2: know that that just pulls at the hard strings. And
- 29:41Speaker 2: so that was that was tough. I think what happens
- 29:43Speaker 2: is there's just kind of a competitive thing with me.
- 29:46Speaker 2: It was like, all right, we need to lock in,
- 29:48Speaker 2: like all right, what happened here? Like what was wrong?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Where did we go wrong with tiffany? How can we
- 29:52Speaker 2: not do that the next time? Who had some some
- 29:56Speaker 2: good bits about maybe it's not her and why and
- 29:58Speaker 2: maybe we can lean on them a little bit and
- 30:00Speaker 2: see what they're thinking, because maybe they're seeing something that
- 30:03Speaker 2: we aren't as far as their instincts.
- 30:05Speaker 3: The Candice really, although she was a trader, really went
- 30:08Speaker 3: for her like tried to save her, right.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I know that would throw you off of
- 30:13Speaker 2: one hundred percent. And that's the crazy part it is
- 30:15Speaker 2: with this game. It is absolute madness. It is such
- 30:19Speaker 2: a rollercoaster and as soon as you think you have
- 30:21Speaker 2: a thread of a solid strategy or play and maybe
- 30:25Speaker 2: you're thinking a couple of steps ahead, that could unravel
- 30:28Speaker 2: so fast and.
- 30:29Speaker 4: It's a monkey wrench.
- 30:31Speaker 2: It really is. And so you have to stay on
- 30:34Speaker 2: your toes constantly, constantly and I learned that, you know,
- 30:38Speaker 2: early on in the game through these roundtables, just like okay,
- 30:42Speaker 2: I here's my plan, and then just all there's just
- 30:44Speaker 2: there's so many different curve balls you have to be
- 30:46Speaker 2: ready to in real time to react to them. And yeah,
- 30:50Speaker 2: that's a very it's a very fascinating part of the game.
- 30:52Speaker 2: There's no single way of like, Okay, this is the
- 30:55Speaker 2: strategy that will win you the game, right, it doesn't
- 30:58Speaker 2: matter what you do, you have to depending on the
- 30:59Speaker 2: personalities are there, depending on what happens day of day,
- 31:02Speaker 2: depending on what you say and who you say it to.
- 31:04Speaker 2: At certain times. You know, you could play the game,
- 31:08Speaker 2: you know, one hundred times and you have you know,
- 31:09Speaker 2: a hundred different outcomes.
- 31:10Speaker 4: There's really no strategy to be high.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Like, so if somebody's coming into the game the next
- 31:15Speaker 3: time it airs, somebody's gonna call you and they're gonna say,
- 31:19Speaker 3: what's your best advice for me?
- 31:22Speaker 1: No one called me.
- 31:25Speaker 2: I'm here, you're telling me that Michael called you. I'm like,
- 31:27Speaker 2: I was so scared by NBC. Not then they didn't
- 31:30Speaker 2: scare me per se, but I just was like, I
- 31:32Speaker 2: was like, I'm gonna just not talk to anybody, I'm
- 31:35Speaker 2: gonna just step into this. And so I didn't speak
- 31:37Speaker 2: to anybody going into the game that I was reading
- 31:40Speaker 2: all of what you guys all people, and I wish
- 31:44Speaker 2: I had more of those contacts. But now, yeah, I
- 31:46Speaker 2: recommend anybody who was going to do the show feel
- 31:48Speaker 2: free to reach out. I will happily engage it. And
- 31:51Speaker 2: don't be too scared of the powers that be. As
- 31:54Speaker 2: far as connect, you're not going to tell on them. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 31:59Speaker 2: But look, I think that you have to be able
- 32:03Speaker 2: to early on in the game sit back a little
- 32:07Speaker 2: bit and observe and watch exactly who's acting which way,
- 32:13Speaker 2: who's being a loud voice in the room, who is
- 32:15Speaker 2: rallying the troops and why. I think if you can
- 32:19Speaker 2: observe that and then choose very wisely when you want
- 32:23Speaker 2: to speak up, and do speak up. You know you
- 32:26Speaker 2: don't want to be Don't be the person that sits
- 32:28Speaker 2: back and doesn't do anything and is super quiet the
- 32:31Speaker 2: whole time. You need to. You need to speak up.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Make sure you speak up at the round tables. Make
- 32:36Speaker 2: sure you're showing the faithfuls that you are trying to
- 32:38Speaker 2: figure out who the traders are.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I want to I want to talk to you about
- 32:54Speaker 1: Colton because there does seem to be a little bit
- 32:56Speaker 1: of a double standard between him and Ron. They both
- 33:00Speaker 1: did the exact same thing, but everyone went after Ron
- 33:03Speaker 1: instead of going after Colton, because you know, yeah, Colton
- 33:07Speaker 1: was wrong about Tiffany, very very boisterous about it. He
- 33:10Speaker 1: was wrong about Michael Rappaport as well. But somehow all
- 33:14Speaker 1: of the kind of like the shame and blame went
- 33:17Speaker 1: on to Ron. But in this most recent roundtable, all
- 33:21Speaker 1: of a sudden, it turns and you have Ron up,
- 33:25Speaker 1: You've got Colton up, and then you've got Lisa, who
- 33:28Speaker 1: was not on anyone's radar except for Colton, and then
- 33:32Speaker 1: he was able to skew that entire room to get
- 33:35Speaker 1: very very close to getting Lisa out, so much so
- 33:38Speaker 1: that a fellow trader in Rob votes for Lisa in
- 33:43Speaker 1: that moment. Are you thinking that Colton could be a
- 33:47Speaker 1: trader or that Lisa could be a trader or is
- 33:49Speaker 1: it just like we got to know about Rone.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I felt pretty confident that Colton was a faithful I
- 33:58Speaker 2: think that you can look at the voting record and
- 34:00Speaker 2: be suspicious, but it did seem like he was very
- 34:03Speaker 2: earnest in how he wanted to play the game. He
- 34:06Speaker 2: wanted to figure out who the traders were as soon
- 34:09Speaker 2: as I mean, he was the first one. As soon
- 34:10Speaker 2: as we got somebody. It was like, all right, who's
- 34:12Speaker 2: next right away? And his instincts were lining up with
- 34:16Speaker 2: a lot of hours right in mind personally, you know,
- 34:20Speaker 2: when he spoke up about Lisa, it was something I
- 34:22Speaker 2: was like, yep, there was something that I've had there.
- 34:24Speaker 2: And so I think when you've got even though he's
- 34:27Speaker 2: swinging and missing, just like Ron did, there's there's big
- 34:31Speaker 2: swings and it's a big miss the end of the day.
- 34:33Speaker 2: At least Colton is he's kind of got his track
- 34:36Speaker 2: record of really trying, you know, earnestly to actually figure
- 34:40Speaker 2: it out. And Ron kind of came out of left
- 34:42Speaker 2: field and just started presenting this evidence at the roundtable.
- 34:46Speaker 2: And meanwhile, somebody else was clearly in the hot seat,
- 34:50Speaker 2: and so it was like, all right, is he distracting us?
- 34:52Speaker 2: So I think that there's the difference there. It's kind
- 34:54Speaker 2: of what I talked about earlier about a little bit
- 34:56Speaker 2: of the strategy. It's like, you don't want to sit
- 34:57Speaker 2: back too much, right everyone says he has to sit
- 34:59Speaker 2: back and and just goes through the first few episodes,
- 35:02Speaker 2: don't speak up because you never know what can happen.
- 35:04Speaker 2: But you do want to speak up a little bit.
- 35:06Speaker 2: You want to you want to show that you're trying
- 35:08Speaker 2: to figure out who the Traders are and you're presenting
- 35:11Speaker 2: some evidence that you have. So yeah, I think at
- 35:15Speaker 2: that point I wasn't on the Colton. I was on
- 35:19Speaker 2: to Lisa, so I lined with him there, but I
- 35:22Speaker 2: still again was like, all right, I got to stick
- 35:25Speaker 2: to my guns here. Everything that's happened up to this point,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I need to stick with my vote until I get
- 35:30Speaker 2: more evidence, and right now we're not ready to go
- 35:32Speaker 2: full on Lisa.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Did you ever happen to notice Trader on Trader in
- 35:37Speaker 3: my season? At watching my season? Did you see how
- 35:40Speaker 3: they wanted to kill each other? The Traders gave themselves
- 35:44Speaker 3: away every time they got in a fight because they
- 35:46Speaker 3: it would be so between the two of them going
- 35:49Speaker 3: after each other, And.
- 35:50Speaker 4: There's always that The only way to really know.
- 35:52Speaker 3: If somebody's one hundred percent of Trader is if you're
- 35:54Speaker 3: a Trader.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yep, yep. I think, yeah, it's interesting, you know this
- 36:00Speaker 2: point through five episodes, or six episodes in the game.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Maybe we didn't see what I'm saying up till now,
- 36:06Speaker 3: have you seen have you ever looked at two people
- 36:08Speaker 3: and go.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Mmm, there there were there were times there was a
- 36:14Speaker 2: bit of of actually, even Colton and Michael, you know,
- 36:18Speaker 2: there's your yeah, ruled up right, And and so I
- 36:22Speaker 2: would allow myself to go down the path and thinking,
- 36:24Speaker 2: all right, what's the scenario here where this is these
- 36:27Speaker 2: are two traders that are just fighting up in the
- 36:30Speaker 2: turret and now they're taking it in the round table
- 36:32Speaker 2: and saying, all right, who can we get acts first?
- 36:34Speaker 2: So you know, that is something that is definitely talked about.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I never really had, up to this point a strong
- 36:43Speaker 2: inclination that there was any trader on trader fighting happening.
- 36:47Speaker 4: No, I don't. I didn't see. Well, we haven't seen
- 36:49Speaker 4: it so far. I want to see the most wives fight, though.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah. They up to this point they they've had real,
- 36:56Speaker 2: real clean synergy I think between the traders and and I. Yeah,
- 37:02Speaker 2: they're they're kicking ass up there.
- 37:04Speaker 4: They really are.
- 37:04Speaker 3: They're doing a great job, and they're agreeing on things,
- 37:08Speaker 3: and I kind of like it. I think that's the
- 37:11Speaker 3: job the traders are supposed to do if they want
- 37:14Speaker 3: to win.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Do you guys like, was there somebody else that you
- 37:16Speaker 2: wish was up in the turret? Or do you like
- 37:19Speaker 2: the Traders that they chose?
- 37:21Speaker 3: I love the Traders. Well, of course I'm biased, but
- 37:23Speaker 3: I love the Traders that they chose.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah, every season, you know, like for for my season,
- 37:30Speaker 1: my big complaint was I thought that the Traders are
- 37:32Speaker 1: being stupid, and that's like what ended up getting me
- 37:35Speaker 1: kicked out. I was like, that was dumb. We're going
- 37:37Speaker 1: to get rid of Derinda. And then this this season,
- 37:41Speaker 1: I'm like, Oh, the Traders are really really smart and
- 37:44Speaker 1: doing a much better job than I think in the
- 37:47Speaker 1: in the season past. But listen, you know the thread
- 37:52Speaker 1: on the sweater is starting to unravel with Rob voting
- 37:56Speaker 1: for Lisa and seeing the writing on the wall. You
- 37:58Speaker 1: haven't seen the episode ode, so I don't even know
- 38:01Speaker 1: if you know that this happened. But Colton took Lisa
- 38:04Speaker 1: aside and effectively tried to create an alliance, saying, I
- 38:09Speaker 1: know you're Creator. If you are, I won't say your
- 38:12Speaker 1: name if you protect me and we go all the way.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Did you know that that had happened?
- 38:16Speaker 2: Yes, he did. He did tell a couple of us
- 38:19Speaker 2: that that happened.
- 38:20Speaker 4: So I don't think that's a good idea.
- 38:22Speaker 2: No, that's again I think, uh, Colt's playing a dangerous game.
- 38:27Speaker 2: He knew he was playing a dangerous game. But and
- 38:29Speaker 2: I was sitting there going like, you know what, better
- 38:30Speaker 2: him than me again, because you know, we want to
- 38:33Speaker 2: make it to the end and give Colton a lot
- 38:36Speaker 2: of credit. He was I think Candace dubbed him varsity
- 38:39Speaker 2: early on. He was leading the charge. Uh, And to me,
- 38:44Speaker 2: I was like, man, it's it's going to get him
- 38:46Speaker 2: out of his game at some point. That's the way
- 38:48Speaker 2: I felt. But yeah, he uh, he did mention that.
- 38:54Speaker 2: He he told me and it was also it was
- 38:57Speaker 2: it was a part of what he put forth to
- 38:59Speaker 2: some of us. And as far as evidence of like
- 39:01Speaker 2: I called out Lisa, I just said it right to
- 39:04Speaker 2: her face. I said, just protect me in the turret
- 39:06Speaker 2: and he said that, you know just she had a
- 39:09Speaker 2: little bit of a chuckle. I guess you guys have
- 39:10Speaker 2: seen it. But that was a validating moment for him.
- 39:13Speaker 2: If there wasn't any you know, anything left to doubt
- 39:16Speaker 2: that she was a trader, that was a big moment
- 39:18Speaker 2: for him. That sealed it.
- 39:20Speaker 1: It was a bold move, as you know, like a
- 39:23Speaker 1: guy who's worked on a reality TV show for a
- 39:26Speaker 1: very very long time. I understand the edit and the cut.
- 39:32Speaker 1: My question to you is, is there someone that's not
- 39:35Speaker 1: getting airtime thus far that you thought would be getting
- 39:38Speaker 1: more airtime? Like, I'm surprised that, like Johnny's not on
- 39:41Speaker 1: my screen more because I feel like that guy is
- 39:44Speaker 1: so fun to watch on TV. But for someone that
- 39:48Speaker 1: was there, were you, Like, I'm surprised that they're not
- 39:50Speaker 1: a bigger presence in the show thus far.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Johnny's a great one. Johnny's hilarious. I love Johnny.
- 39:56Speaker 2: He has I mean, he's enjoyed to be around. He's
- 39:59Speaker 2: got some great some funny lines, and and just brought
- 40:02Speaker 2: a lot every single day. Yeah, surprised to see not
- 40:06Speaker 2: as much Johnny. There's also there was a lot of
- 40:09Speaker 2: jam Jam. I know he's gotten some good camera time,
- 40:11Speaker 2: but there was a lot of Michael and jam Jam,
- 40:13Speaker 2: and they leaned more on the Michael and Colton, but
- 40:16Speaker 2: there was Yeah, there was a heavy back and forth
- 40:19Speaker 2: between jam Jam and Michael. So I was surprised to
- 40:22Speaker 2: not see all of that in there. But yeah, you know,
- 40:27Speaker 2: I think at this point you've got some there's some
- 40:30Speaker 2: great personalities in the turn where you know it's funny.
- 40:33Speaker 2: I mean Rob early on, you know, I went into
- 40:36Speaker 2: the game, I met Ryana. Hey, what's what's up? My
- 40:38Speaker 2: name Steve, and he's like, hey, I'm Rob. I'm like, cool, man,
- 40:41Speaker 2: where are you from? He's like Alabama. I'm like okay.
- 40:43Speaker 2: And then everyone the first he was one of the
- 40:45Speaker 2: first that everyone was like, hey, the guy, the snake dude,
- 40:48Speaker 2: like he's he's probably a trader because we had nothing
- 40:50Speaker 2: to go off of, right, and you're just looking to
- 40:52Speaker 2: point a finger at somebody. So everyone was pointing at
- 40:54Speaker 2: Rob from that before the traders were even picked. Right
- 41:00Speaker 2: after the secret Trader was picked, I was like, man,
- 41:04Speaker 2: what's up with his energy? And so it's it's interesting
- 41:08Speaker 2: to see now watching the show and seeing him in
- 41:11Speaker 2: the turret and seeing how he's talking in his interviews
- 41:13Speaker 2: as well. Right, I mean, he's just you know, he's
- 41:16Speaker 2: he's a smart dude. So I I you see the
- 41:19Speaker 2: personalities that they got up there. You're seeing a lot
- 41:22Speaker 2: of the traders, you know, more than that, I guess,
- 41:25Speaker 2: but yeah, look at list is a big personality. Candae
- 41:28Speaker 2: is a big personality, and and Rob in his own
- 41:30Speaker 2: right is a great personality. His whole strategy and the
- 41:33Speaker 2: way he's playing the game is is fun to watch
- 41:36Speaker 2: right now. So yeah, but yeah, at the end of
- 41:39Speaker 2: the day, I think, to answer your question, Johnny's a
- 41:41Speaker 2: great one. I would have liked to see Monette stick around.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Monete was a great personality, and I thought he was
- 41:47Speaker 2: gonna go really far, and so it just sucks again.
- 41:52Speaker 2: He just he's not speaking up to a lot of people,
- 41:54Speaker 2: but he spoke up to the wrong person.
- 41:56Speaker 4: And yeah for that, Ah, that's that sucks. I would
- 41:59Speaker 4: have liked teen him more too.
- 42:00Speaker 3: But was it your theory, Wells that you said that
- 42:04Speaker 3: they show or maybe it was Paul, it was me, Oh,
- 42:08Speaker 3: was you okay? That they show a lot of the
- 42:10Speaker 3: people that are going to last longer? They don't show
- 42:12Speaker 3: a lot of the people that last in the beginning.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they give all the screen time to the people.
- 42:17Speaker 4: That are that are being or murdered.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And so it's a little and I could
- 42:23Speaker 1: be totally wrong, but it's a little bit of a tell.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Like the Johnny one, Mike, my theory is is that
- 42:28Speaker 1: he goes a very far way because he's way too
- 42:31Speaker 1: big of a personality to have not been on my
- 42:34Speaker 1: screen enough, you know. But like Michael Rappaport was a firecracker.
- 42:40Speaker 1: He burned bright and fast and it was out, you know. Like,
- 42:43Speaker 1: so I look at the TV show that way, not
- 42:46Speaker 1: to get like two insider Baseballly, but you know what,
- 42:49Speaker 1: but to get insider Baseballly. There's a lot of stuff
- 42:52Speaker 1: that gets left on the cutting moon floor. It's always
- 42:53Speaker 1: my favorite stuff on Paradise. I'm always like, I'm so
- 42:57Speaker 1: bummed that didn't make it because it was so funny
- 42:59Speaker 1: or is so dramatic or whatever. On Yeah, was there
- 43:03Speaker 1: anything that happened on Traders that didn't make the cut
- 43:06Speaker 1: that you were like, Man, I really wish the audience
- 43:09Speaker 1: had seen that.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Give us something good. I know you got it in you.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Oh man, Shoot, that is a great question. I want
- 43:19Speaker 2: to have a great answer for you. Guys, I tell
- 43:20Speaker 2: you so so far. There's there's a few things just
- 43:22Speaker 2: personally I'm glad that they didn't use because you're so
- 43:26Speaker 2: you're over analyzing, you know, your own actions in the game.
- 43:29Speaker 2: And even when I first was speared, uh for the
- 43:32Speaker 2: mission and episode is. I think it's episode five where
- 43:37Speaker 2: they put a spear and that's the first episode four
- 43:39Speaker 2: that I'm gonna be up for murder for the first time,
- 43:41Speaker 2: and I think I was. I was walking back and
- 43:43Speaker 2: I was just like, oh man, I said to myself,
- 43:46Speaker 2: or I said out loud to the people I was with.
- 43:47Speaker 2: I was like, you know, how could they spear me?
- 43:50Speaker 2: Like don't they know how important I am to the missions?
- 43:53Speaker 2: And after that, I was like, why did you say that?
- 43:57Speaker 2: As if you're so important to the and everyone's like, no,
- 44:01Speaker 2: don't touch Stephen, like it's like, leave him be So.
- 44:04Speaker 4: I spared you? I forget who was it?
- 44:08Speaker 2: Wait, what's that? Oh spared you? Leave terror?
- 44:11Speaker 4: Oh okay, okay?
- 44:12Speaker 2: And then and it's so and then she said, which
- 44:15Speaker 2: God blessed terror. She said that the sweetest things and
- 44:17Speaker 2: in her interview about you know, having to spare me
- 44:19Speaker 2: and didn't want to and all that, that was really nice.
- 44:22Speaker 2: So I was dreading that moment. I was like that
- 44:25Speaker 2: spearing they're going to show me like pouting, like hey,
- 44:27Speaker 2: why how dare they spare me? Uh? So, yeah, that
- 44:30Speaker 2: was that was funny. I'm glad they didn't show that.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Uh you left out.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but then you just told us you got free,
- 44:38Speaker 1: and then.
- 44:38Speaker 4: You tell the biggest fear.
- 44:40Speaker 3: That's like I think Michael's biggest fear was that round
- 44:44Speaker 3: table fight when he said that, and they showed it.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, No. I again, they could have done
- 44:51Speaker 2: They could have shown a lot from that that roundtable wing.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I'm telling you it was probably two hours stop really
- 44:59Speaker 2: back and forth for a very long Michael had it
- 45:02Speaker 2: out with Colton, he had it out with Jam Jam,
- 45:04Speaker 2: he had it I mean, him and Johnny went back
- 45:06Speaker 2: and forth, and him and Kristen went back and forth
- 45:08Speaker 2: at some point, and and yeah, it went on and
- 45:12Speaker 2: on and on, and then we also had other, you know,
- 45:16Speaker 2: other suspects to kind of get through. So there's a
- 45:20Speaker 2: lot of back and forth that went. So you could
- 45:23Speaker 2: you could play you know, a ten minute scene at
- 45:25Speaker 2: least from just you know, Michael and Colton, Michael and
- 45:28Speaker 2: Jam Jam from that roundtable. But what else can I
- 45:32Speaker 2: trying to tell you here? It's it's really that. It's
- 45:37Speaker 2: it's moments at the roundtable of people being called out there. Okay,
- 45:42Speaker 2: there is I'll tell you this. There was a moment
- 45:44Speaker 2: I think coming into that roundtable where there was so
- 45:48Speaker 2: much tension that as soon as Alan gives his you know,
- 45:53Speaker 2: plays the floor, we're all coming back, right, And then
- 46:00Speaker 2: Michael speaks up right away, of course, and we all
- 46:02Speaker 2: just bust out laughing for some of us, not everyone,
- 46:05Speaker 2: but it was a lot of people were just waiting
- 46:07Speaker 2: for him to just you know, you knew it was
- 46:09Speaker 2: gonna be.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yeah. So when he first is like, well I should
- 46:14Speaker 2: say something, and then everyone you know, busts out out.
- 46:16Speaker 2: So we had to kind of contain that. And and
- 46:19Speaker 2: of course, you know, they they do not show that part,
- 46:23Speaker 2: but there was a moment there. It was so it
- 46:25Speaker 2: was so tense that there was a little bit of
- 46:26Speaker 2: a relief for a second, so that that was funny.
- 46:28Speaker 2: But that's a.
- 46:30Speaker 4: Tense moment though. Walking into that roundtables rough.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it went right back to being tense very very fast.
- 46:36Speaker 1: So can you give us a ts for what's to come?
- 46:42Speaker 2: I'll say this, The Traders have had their way with
- 46:46Speaker 2: the Faithfuls so far, right, Yeah, I mean they are
- 46:51Speaker 2: kicking ass in this game, but you know they can't
- 46:56Speaker 2: kick ass forever, so the Faithfuls are coming for him.
- 47:00Speaker 4: I love that is exciting.
- 47:02Speaker 1: If you were asked to come back on the show
- 47:05Speaker 1: for an all star season. Would you do it?
- 47:09Speaker 2: Yeah? I think you know, the game was so much fun.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I had an absolute blast and you guys know this,
- 47:17Speaker 2: Uh it's it's it's so interesting to play it just
- 47:21Speaker 2: once and then you're like, you know what, I wonder
- 47:23Speaker 2: it'd be fun to go back and see if we
- 47:25Speaker 2: ran it back. How would I do? You know, what
- 47:29Speaker 2: would I be able to make it as far as
- 47:30Speaker 2: I did?
- 47:30Speaker 4: Or would you do something different? What would you do different?
- 47:34Speaker 2: Or exactly? And there would I think that there is
- 47:36Speaker 2: a bit of like, oh okay, I think you know,
- 47:38Speaker 2: maybe early on, here's what I've learned, Like the way
- 47:43Speaker 2: that people speak up. These personalities are great in some
- 47:46Speaker 2: of these interviews. I mean, whether you know it's it's Maura,
- 47:50Speaker 2: who didn't speak up a lot around the castle, but
- 47:53Speaker 2: when she spoke up, she's got these great one liners,
- 47:56Speaker 2: these tidbits. It's like it's she's really funny, and she's
- 47:58Speaker 2: also like commands kind of a you know, command the room.
- 48:01Speaker 2: When she speaks up. It's not just the accent, but
- 48:04Speaker 2: it's it's the eyes and the fact that she's been
- 48:05Speaker 2: beamed down from another galaxy. But you know. I think
- 48:11Speaker 2: that too. For me, I want to go back because
- 48:14Speaker 2: I was also sick. I was terribly sick.
- 48:16Speaker 1: The first Yeah, what was the matter? I heard that?
- 48:18Speaker 2: I felt I not like Johnny. His was much more graceful.
- 48:22Speaker 2: I jumped in on purpose at some point to help
- 48:25Speaker 2: our boat in that first mission. I got super sick.
- 48:28Speaker 2: I got Mark sick at one point, I got some
- 48:31Speaker 2: of the crew sick, and and then I'm just, of
- 48:34Speaker 2: course in my head about I'm going to get voted
- 48:35Speaker 2: out because I'm the sick guy. But I'd be in
- 48:37Speaker 2: some of those interviews and you know, trying to speak
- 48:39Speaker 2: about the missions in the games just it's not and
- 48:43Speaker 2: just gross, and I'm just terribly frustrated. I just want
- 48:46Speaker 2: to go home at that point. So I felt like
- 48:49Speaker 2: it would be I want to have one more fun
- 48:51Speaker 2: in those interviews. I can go back and play the
- 48:52Speaker 2: game again. That's something that that I would want to do.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Well. We want to be respectful of your time. But
- 48:57Speaker 1: before we let you go, what do you want to promote?
- 49:00Speaker 1: Where can people follow you? Where can people find out
- 49:02Speaker 1: more about what's going on?
- 49:04Speaker 2: Oh? I appreciate that. Yeah, I got an independent show
- 49:08Speaker 2: called Everyone is Doing Great. We released the first season
- 49:11Speaker 2: on Hulu and we just shot a second season and
- 49:14Speaker 2: that's gonna come out later this year, so look out
- 49:17Speaker 2: for that. And also we did a little special two
- 49:20Speaker 2: hour special with Roku. It's gonna be on the Roku channel.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Laguna Beach Reunion. It's the first time in twenty years
- 49:26Speaker 2: we got the whole cast together in the same spot
- 49:30Speaker 2: and that was a lot of fun.
- 49:31Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 49:32Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to it, and I'm going to check
- 49:34Speaker 3: your show out too. Yeah, we're friends now, so I have.

- 50:18Speaker 1: I probably would have thought he was a trader though,
- 50:19Speaker 1: I'd be like, you're an actor and a reality star.
- 50:21Speaker 4: You're like the did you have to be a trader
- 50:23Speaker 4: to be you know?
- 50:26Speaker 1: Anyways, this was a lot of fun. I love these.
- 50:28Speaker 1: I almost so good at him these interviews more than
- 50:32Speaker 1: our recaps because you really get to like dig in
- 50:35Speaker 1: and be like, wait, what did you think? And what

- 50:38Speaker 1: of so good.
