- 0:35Speaker 1: It's due, it's pp. I just think they have to
- 0:37Speaker 1: play it at the same time as Kansas City more
- 0:39Speaker 1: than likely, right, unless the Bills are ahead of the
- 0:42Speaker 1: Chiefs by a game. But we don't. Don't give me
- 0:44Speaker 1: a headache. This is the guy we gotta get. We
- 0:45Speaker 1: gotta get these these playoffs. Don't get me a headache.
- 0:49Speaker 1: R SV. I think not just for for kids. I
- 0:51Speaker 1: think adults can can get that as well. Which can
- 0:53Speaker 1: be can be tough if you want to really get
- 0:54Speaker 1: back to it. Rs VP is even worse. That's a
- 0:57Speaker 1: good that's a great point. I just saw Salah, who's
- 0:59Speaker 1: the head coach of the Jets, wearing a sweatshirt that
- 1:01Speaker 1: says Gotham City Football Club. You know, I don't know
- 1:04Speaker 1: what where they get off and I didn't see the
- 1:06Speaker 1: mac given the you do be quiet? Hello? Can we
- 1:11Speaker 1: talk to is that well? We talked toucha like at
- 1:14Speaker 1: length yesterday. No, And I don't want to like turn
- 1:17Speaker 1: this into a crusade that I hate Josh Uja, but
- 1:19Speaker 1: you're getting tired of. I'm just This is Patriot's Unfiltered
- 1:26Speaker 1: fueled by Duncan. All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It
- 1:31Speaker 1: is Thursday here at Gillette Stadium, and Deuce is here,
- 1:35Speaker 1: Alex is here. Thanks for coming, Alex. Yeahs nice to
- 1:39Speaker 1: see Yea. We haven't seen her in a while. Paul,
- 1:42Speaker 1: both Evans in Arizona. Yeah, so living the dream? Yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 1: well is that what they call it? I know he
- 1:51Speaker 1: said it was nice there though. But Um talked to
- 1:53Speaker 1: Uja yesterday and then he called up the trainer on
- 1:56Speaker 1: the spot that Uja mentioned and yesterday's interview and got
- 1:59Speaker 1: a little interview you out of the trainer that Josh
- 2:02Speaker 1: had worked with during the off season. So yeah, yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 1: he'll get there. Yeah yeah, yeah, good job. Yeah out
- 2:09Speaker 1: a boy. Yeah. Uh So we're talking Las Vegas Raiders
- 2:15Speaker 1: and we had our first injury or practice participation report yesterday. Um,
- 2:21Speaker 1: some good news, I think Myers. Yea, Um, that's critical. Yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I think he's as close to what Binkie as as
- 2:29Speaker 1: Mac Jones has and it's good to have him back
- 2:31Speaker 1: if if he in fact does play, he's limited, Yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 1: but sounds like he'll be back. And then Barmore, Barmore, Yeah,
- 2:39Speaker 1: clocks started. He didn't know if he had traveled yesterday,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but apparently he did. Um, and he's out there on
- 2:45Speaker 1: the practice field. Yeah. Hopefully, hopefully it translates to being
- 2:47Speaker 1: ready in the game. And I mean the Raiders doing
- 2:49Speaker 1: the same thing. They activated Waller and Renfro. But you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: listening to Josh talk yesterday, I mean, I'm sure he's
- 2:56Speaker 1: obviously going to play close to the vest, but you know,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I said, we haven't seen these guys in a while,
- 3:00Speaker 1: so we're just gonna get him out there today. But
- 3:01Speaker 1: I'm kind of expecting at least one of them to
- 3:03Speaker 1: go kind of both. I know, the Patriots, they might
- 3:05Speaker 1: have been on the report, so probably go time. Yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 1: I think for those two. Yeah, well I looked at
- 3:12Speaker 1: the stats too. I thought this was interesting. You know,
- 3:14Speaker 1: we talked. I mean, they've had all three of those guys, Adams, Waller, Renfro,
- 3:18Speaker 1: for forty three of their eight hundred and fifty snaps
- 3:20Speaker 1: on offense. So nothing nothing really. You know, last time
- 3:24Speaker 1: we talked about the amount of time that certain players
- 3:27Speaker 1: spent together, it lasted three plays. So we'll see what
- 3:30Speaker 1: happens Sunday. That's true. I mean, you know, Josh Jacobs
- 3:33Speaker 1: and Adams alone are enough to give you an ice
- 3:36Speaker 1: cream headache. But yeah, just to add those guys into
- 3:38Speaker 1: the mix, it's, uh, it'll certainly tested. Yeah, we depth, Yeah,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I mean, that's the thing is how does this defense
- 3:46Speaker 1: battle that? How do they approach that? And it's just
- 3:50Speaker 1: every every phase of the defense has to play complimentary.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I mean, and just hope that you you know, they
- 3:55Speaker 1: screw up a few times and because they there's a
- 3:58Speaker 1: talent gap, they more talented on offense than we are
- 4:01Speaker 1: on defense. And I'm not insulting anybody by saying that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I don't think there's you know, we don't have a
- 4:07Speaker 1: we don't have a shutdown corner. Um well, especially with
- 4:11Speaker 1: the injury problems. Yeah, like I think there's a little
- 4:15Speaker 1: concern in the depth with um. You know, Mills hasn't
- 4:18Speaker 1: played for a couple of games. He's limited. Jack Jones
- 4:20Speaker 1: left the game. He didn't practice yesterday. Um, you know
- 4:24Speaker 1: so that there's some concerns with your depth in the
- 4:27Speaker 1: secondary and I you're right, Fred, I mean like if
- 4:29Speaker 1: you have a healthy Adams Waller renfro and then mac
- 4:34Speaker 1: Hollins is like fourth or fifth on the list, Josh Jacobs,
- 4:38Speaker 1: and then Josh Jacobs you don't have. Yeah. Yeah, so
- 4:43Speaker 1: that's why I like I sort of you know, you
- 4:46Speaker 1: like to talk about the round table that DU sends
- 4:48Speaker 1: out every week. Fred. And I want to thank you
- 4:50Speaker 1: Fred for sharing all your interest with with the whole
- 4:52Speaker 1: calls reply all. Thank you very much. I wanted to
- 4:56Speaker 1: give you guys some help this. Yeah, and I actually
- 4:59Speaker 1: know why I had he sent my in in because
- 5:02Speaker 1: that's the first thing I do, otherwise I'll forget it
- 5:03Speaker 1: because you know, see you what about the inca I
- 5:07Speaker 1: sent mine in. I'm sorry, we can't all speak exactly
- 5:10Speaker 1: perfectly like you do. Um. How was Defred McCurdy Was
- 5:13Speaker 1: he okay? Was he part of that? Um? So anyway
- 5:17Speaker 1: mine mine? UM, I had already sent in. But I
- 5:22Speaker 1: did appreciate reading Freddy's because he yells at me because
- 5:25Speaker 1: I don't usually read them and I don't know when
- 5:26Speaker 1: anybody else said, so I made sure I Readferend's interest
- 5:29Speaker 1: that anyone you need to worry about, right. I think
- 5:31Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs is a guy that really should be the focus,
- 5:34Speaker 1: because not because I think he's better than DeVante Adams
- 5:36Speaker 1: or worse than anybody else, but I feel like the
- 5:41Speaker 1: road to victory, the road to slowing down that offense,
- 5:44Speaker 1: to me, starts with Derek Carr. See what I did there,
- 5:46Speaker 1: the road with car keep car stuck in neutral um.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I feel like if you can at least neutralize Jacobs,
- 5:56Speaker 1: then you put more on cars shoulders, and I think
- 5:59Speaker 1: that's with him. Stakes might come if you can do
- 6:01Speaker 1: what Fred said and get some pressure on the passer.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I know that was your answer, complimentary pass rush. With
- 6:06Speaker 1: the way Oocha and Juda have been going, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: get some heat on him. But if you put it
- 6:11Speaker 1: all on the raiders, like once it was all on
- 6:14Speaker 1: Colt McCoy, that's when the pass rush turned it up
- 6:16Speaker 1: Monday night, right, Like, they didn't get much pressure on
- 6:19Speaker 1: him early, but late they got a lot of it
- 6:21Speaker 1: because they had a throw. And I think if you
- 6:23Speaker 1: shut down Jacobs and make them throw, you can get
- 6:25Speaker 1: some pressure enforce mistakes. I agree. I think like the
- 6:28Speaker 1: Raiders obviously weren't impressive to start the season, but as
- 6:31Speaker 1: they've kind of gained momentum, Jacobs has really emerged for them.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So it seems like he's kind of leading it all.
- 6:36Speaker 1: He's leading. I mean, he's leading the league in rushing,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you know it's I mean, and he can catch the ball.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I just I don't. I don't even know where to start. Well,
- 6:42Speaker 1: you don't offense. It just seems like you just gottas
- 6:46Speaker 1: and in the defensive meetings, I know, I give up
- 6:49Speaker 1: you know, a lot of guys. I don't even know
- 6:51Speaker 1: where the stars. I mean, I was looking at some
- 6:53Speaker 1: of the touchdowns. I mean, you know, Adams has got
- 6:56Speaker 1: nine touchdowns twenty five plus yards. I mean four of
- 6:59Speaker 1: them are forty plus artists for him or thirty plus,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you know. I just, I mean, I agree with what
- 7:03Speaker 1: Paul saying. I also think, though, if you give up
- 7:05Speaker 1: big scoring plays that you're just you're never getting out
- 7:07Speaker 1: of that. I can't do that. That's you know, so's
- 7:10Speaker 1: you can say this, you can say that, and then
- 7:11Speaker 1: on the flip side, you can say, oh, by the way,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I think the Patriots offense suddenly needs to find a
- 7:15Speaker 1: gear that we haven't seen yet to keep pace with
- 7:17Speaker 1: you know what I think Oakland's doing, But Oakland Raiders.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I just I look at a four and eight team,
- 7:23Speaker 1: but I still see a team that like, well, I
- 7:26Speaker 1: don't want to characterize the last four games of the season,
- 7:29Speaker 1: like I want to say these are the Iron of
- 7:30Speaker 1: the AI, but they're not. They're not. You know, they're
- 7:33Speaker 1: not that good, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Close.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I just have no confidence that the Patriots are going
- 7:39Speaker 1: to be able to expose any of these, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: weaknesses you see statistically like red zone like we saw
- 7:44Speaker 1: it last week that that was a terrible red zone
- 7:45Speaker 1: defense too. It didn't really matter, no I did. We
- 7:48Speaker 1: got two red zone touchdowns? Yeah, yes, so true. I
- 7:51Speaker 1: mean we need to have an intervention. It's never good enough,
- 7:55Speaker 1: Josh Uche, I'm tired of getting sad. Red zone was
- 8:00Speaker 1: just as funny today as it was Yester. Well, you
- 8:02Speaker 1: know probably you know they did they stopped him. I
- 8:05Speaker 1: mean they were able to score twice in the red zone.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I mean, you don't go from like oh for seven
- 8:10Speaker 1: to like five for five, like it usually doesn't work.
- 8:13Speaker 1: That week, there was progress. Last week they had two
- 8:14Speaker 1: red zone touchdowns. Alex tell Kevin he doesn't listen to me.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Kevin as broke like six tackles got it and on
- 8:21Speaker 1: one play that was like the first play, did we
- 8:24Speaker 1: throw it into the end zone? Really hard? Why do
- 8:26Speaker 1: you get oh style points? Fisk. It's got to be
- 8:29Speaker 1: a say, now you know what you're no longer allowed
- 8:32Speaker 1: to do. You're no longer allowed to make fun of
- 8:35Speaker 1: me with my boys felgerd Mass because you are a
- 8:37Speaker 1: want to be Felger in Mass. You want to find
- 8:40Speaker 1: something to pick out now. I they had to come
- 8:43Speaker 1: from twenty eight three down. I mean they didn't. They
- 8:45Speaker 1: didn't throw the ball into their They got red zone scores,
- 8:48Speaker 1: but they didn't throw it into the league right away
- 8:50Speaker 1: in the super Bowl. It's unacceptable. I demand dominance and excellence.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm perfect, yes, wow, and and perfect uniforms too. And
- 8:59Speaker 1: Bill's got to pick the right hood either. I forget
- 9:01Speaker 1: about that. Man, you're demanding. I never thought but he
- 9:03Speaker 1: would be like this. He's very demanding. Yeah, I know, no,
- 9:06Speaker 1: you're you're I mean, you're right. I was being a
- 9:08Speaker 1: little bit harsh. Um. They did have some success in
- 9:10Speaker 1: the red zone last week, but I don't, you know,
- 9:12Speaker 1: two touchdowns, I don't know if that's gonna be enough
- 9:14Speaker 1: this week. You know, I think they got They're gonna
- 9:16Speaker 1: have to be more. And I don't know why that.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm just assuming that the Raiders are going to just
- 9:18Speaker 1: give us their absolute This is what the Raiders should
- 9:21Speaker 1: have been game. But that's what I'm expecting. I'm just expecting.
- 9:24Speaker 1: But much like we said, if Kyler Murray doesn't get hurt,
- 9:26Speaker 1: I don't know if twenty points offensively would be enough
- 9:29Speaker 1: to win. I would say the same thing this week,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you know, assuming that guys don't drop the third play
- 9:34Speaker 1: into the game, I don't know if twenty offensive points
- 9:36Speaker 1: will be And we have to talk about Josh's knowledge
- 9:40Speaker 1: of Bill and his tendencies and Patricia's tendencies. And I
- 9:44Speaker 1: don't think Josh knows anything about our offense because it
- 9:48Speaker 1: didn't exist when he was here, and I don't think
- 9:51Speaker 1: you can I don't think. I do think he knows
- 9:57Speaker 1: our tendencies on defense. I mean, he coached a against
- 10:00Speaker 1: our defense in practice for a long time and saw
- 10:04Speaker 1: what the tendencies are. And it's still Bill, and you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: growd and all those guys were here when he was here,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and so that's the thing. He knows our defense. Yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and I think that's a plus for him. Well, I
- 10:17Speaker 1: mean I would tie it to Tom watching the latest
- 10:20Speaker 1: episode of Hard Knocks. It just came out last night
- 10:22Speaker 1: that featured the Patriots game. Not a ton of good stuff,
- 10:24Speaker 1: but same kind of thing. We're listening to Josh yesterday,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and you know, sometimes I think we you know, we're
- 10:31Speaker 1: on the outside. You hear what the actual football teams
- 10:33Speaker 1: we're talking about, and the amount of attention that both
- 10:36Speaker 1: the Cardinals pregame and Josh kind of mentioned yesterday is
- 10:38Speaker 1: just how hard it is not knowing what you're going
- 10:40Speaker 1: to get from the Patriots defense. And I mean you
- 10:42Speaker 1: heard all of the coaches on the Cardinals hitting this
- 10:46Speaker 1: point of we can study this, but it's not going
- 10:49Speaker 1: to be what they're gonna do to us. They're gonna
- 10:51Speaker 1: attack our players, And this is not one of the
- 10:54Speaker 1: coaches said, this is not that they just do what
- 10:56Speaker 1: they do kind of team you know what ever happen,
- 10:58Speaker 1: and this isn't something that we like really highlight or
- 11:01Speaker 1: talk about all. I mean, yeah, we all know they
- 11:02Speaker 1: say that they're a game playing defense. But you know,
- 11:05Speaker 1: just for me listening to the NFL locker rooms, what
- 11:08Speaker 1: the coaches are telling the teams of how difficult this
- 11:12Speaker 1: makes things. And I mean, I grew up in being
- 11:14Speaker 1: a football fan, slash fan, analysts, whatever you want to
- 11:17Speaker 1: call me, just with the Patriots, just study, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: really love defense and studying the Patriots defense, and it
- 11:22Speaker 1: always seems so complicated to me. And that's why I like,
- 11:24Speaker 1: you know, when I look at other defenses, I'm like Jesus,
- 11:25Speaker 1: seems pretty simple. They just run kind of a form
- 11:28Speaker 1: in front with two linebackers and you know, five dbs
- 11:30Speaker 1: in behind him, and that's you know, and that's what
- 11:32Speaker 1: it is. So I think, you know, and I want
- 11:34Speaker 1: to say spoiled, but in some ways my view of
- 11:36Speaker 1: it is kind of skewed. But when you get that
- 11:38Speaker 1: kind of outside perspective, you realize it really does make
- 11:41Speaker 1: things difficult on them. I don't I don't know if
- 11:43Speaker 1: they have that. You know that the horses to you know,
- 11:45Speaker 1: match up with with all the weapons. It's just it's tough.
- 11:47Speaker 1: You're gonna have to stop Josh Jacobs with probably five
- 11:51Speaker 1: six guys in the box, you know, and that's, you know,
- 11:53Speaker 1: part of what Evan wrote about and kind of his previews.
- 11:55Speaker 1: So many teams are just you know, playing two deep
- 11:57Speaker 1: safeties to protect them against Adams. It's still hasn't totally
- 12:00Speaker 1: neutralized him. But at the same time, you're gonna have
- 12:03Speaker 1: to stop with a light box. You're not going to
- 12:05Speaker 1: be able to pack everybody in or else you're gonna
- 12:07Speaker 1: What are the Raiders average points per game? We don't
- 12:14Speaker 1: have that. I think they're right now, I have it somewhere.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Hold on, I thought I saw that sixth Please, but
- 12:19Speaker 1: what's that number? Is it? Yeah? What do they have?
- 12:24Speaker 1: The points per game? They're they're they're eleventh overall in
- 12:27Speaker 1: points points four, um, But I don't have the number.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Twenty one point two, twenty one point two yeah, okay,
- 12:34Speaker 1: so many stats yea um. But again, you know that's
- 12:38Speaker 1: just if they've been doing it with mac collins and
- 12:40Speaker 1: and Adams and that's pretty much been their duo. No,
- 12:43Speaker 1: that's wrong. No, sorry, they didn't have it. They just
- 12:47Speaker 1: give you the Patriot rankings. That's the Patriots twenty one
- 12:50Speaker 1: point two. Okay, Uh, they are twenty three point seven,
- 12:57Speaker 1: twenty three point seven, So basically twenty four points a
- 13:00Speaker 1: game for them, that's that's a challenge even even at
- 13:05Speaker 1: twenty and they've been disappointing. Yeah, right, like with with that,
- 13:08Speaker 1: So yeah, then they've been very up and down. They
- 13:10Speaker 1: got shut out one game, and they average twenty four
- 13:12Speaker 1: points a game. Yeah, they've only broken thirty three times only. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: it sounds like a lot around here, right, um, But yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's just I don't know what the disconnect is, but
- 13:24Speaker 1: I feel like they're going to come in, you know,
- 13:26Speaker 1: wanting to set the stage a little bit. I don't
- 13:27Speaker 1: think anybody wants to say that they're out of the
- 13:29Speaker 1: playoffs yet. They probably are, though, but I think that
- 13:31Speaker 1: they're you know, has something to prove. I think still,
- 13:34Speaker 1: like I said yesterday, that you know, hey, this is
- 13:36Speaker 1: the team that we wanted to have, and you know,
- 13:38Speaker 1: let's show them what it would have looked like. Have
- 13:39Speaker 1: we had our full contingent of a huge that's Fred.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Fred and I were on it on Tuesday. You know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: what kind of motivation do they have coming into this
- 13:49Speaker 1: game because their season ended and that collapse uh last
- 13:53Speaker 1: Thursday night, So what kind of motivation do they have?
- 13:56Speaker 1: I think you're right, I think they have enough guys
- 13:59Speaker 1: that will probably feel this game is important to the coach,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and the coach probably hasn't alienated people yet. You know,
- 14:07Speaker 1: it's kind of hard to do it that quickly. So
- 14:10Speaker 1: my guess is they'll put their best foot forward, and
- 14:12Speaker 1: I put a lot into this game. I would just
- 14:14Speaker 1: hope that the Patriots do as well. I mean, this
- 14:16Speaker 1: is you know, like like I just I don't want
- 14:18Speaker 1: to see the Patriots get out energied by the Raiders
- 14:22Speaker 1: in this game. I mean, you're in a playoff spot
- 14:24Speaker 1: right now. It's a very narrow path. You gotta you know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: every game is critical at this point. So I would
- 14:30Speaker 1: just hope that the Patriots come out with that already
- 14:33Speaker 1: to match any intensity that the Raiders kind of bring
- 14:35Speaker 1: to to please something. The last time they were out
- 14:37Speaker 1: there for an extended period, they came into that game
- 14:40Speaker 1: and they were they were tired, but they had had
- 14:43Speaker 1: you know, joint practices and all that stuff. There's really
- 14:47Speaker 1: no excuse. I mean, they should be kind of rested actually,
- 14:51Speaker 1: because they didn't travel two times across country. They you know,
- 14:55Speaker 1: they stayed in a nice place and you know, U
- 15:00Speaker 1: really didn't have to, you know, move around a lot, so,
- 15:02Speaker 1: especially after the last stretch of games. We've had the
- 15:04Speaker 1: last three weeks just two Thursday night football games, and
- 15:08Speaker 1: it's been a crazy week for all of us. I
- 15:09Speaker 1: can't imagine being someone actually playing and practicing. I don't
- 15:13Speaker 1: know what day it is, still like, I'm still behind
- 15:15Speaker 1: and even you know, and get screwed up next week too,
- 15:17Speaker 1: when you know when they're playing Saturday and then everything
- 15:20Speaker 1: gets moved up. You know, a day it never we
- 15:24Speaker 1: got that to look forward to it again. Fred will
- 15:26Speaker 1: be yeah, you know, telling you what today, but it's
- 15:29Speaker 1: really yeah, I guess Wednesday. Yeah. The question is he
- 15:32Speaker 1: going to give him a day off next week? I
- 15:35Speaker 1: hope So they don't. They don't want it, they don't
- 15:36Speaker 1: need it. Yeah, harder. What do you think of as
- 15:41Speaker 1: a total aside? So the majority of the slate is
- 15:45Speaker 1: on Christmas Eve and it, but they do have games
- 15:47Speaker 1: on Christmas Day. Ye. Why do you think they move
- 15:50Speaker 1: the slate off of Christmas Day? If they're gonna happen
- 15:54Speaker 1: like I could see if they put all of the
- 15:55Speaker 1: games on Christmas Eve just to not play on Christmas
- 15:58Speaker 1: Day's split, but they I think there's three there's I
- 16:01Speaker 1: think two games on Christmas Day. That's it? Yeah, Yeah,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I think I think rather than have like everybody on
- 16:08Speaker 1: every team having to work on Christmas, they minimized it,
- 16:12Speaker 1: kind of like what the NBA does on Christmas Day.
- 16:15Speaker 1: The NBA goes full bord. I thought it was only
- 16:18Speaker 1: like it's like it's like five national Yeah, it's like
- 16:21Speaker 1: five national games, right, but not the whole league, right, No,
- 16:24Speaker 1: they had marquee games, yeah, like, but it's it's certainly
- 16:28Speaker 1: not too so we have three so they can spend
- 16:30Speaker 1: time with their family. Packers Dolphins at one, Broncos Rams
- 16:33Speaker 1: at four thirty, and Bucks Cardinals at eight twenty coolie
- 16:37Speaker 1: games flex that Cardinals game out not with McCoy play yikes,
- 16:43Speaker 1: and then charges Colts on Monday Night. Yeah. I just
- 16:46Speaker 1: think it's odd, Like I could, I would totally understand
- 16:49Speaker 1: if they said, you know, we're gonna just play all
- 16:50Speaker 1: the games on Christmas Eve, yeah, instead of Christmas Day
- 16:53Speaker 1: on Christmas Day, but they don't. Yeh. It's kind of
- 16:55Speaker 1: damage control. I think maybe it's a ratings thing, Paul.
- 16:57Speaker 1: You know, they know everyone's gonna be at home, so
- 17:00Speaker 1: let's just have everybody watching one game and just I
- 17:03Speaker 1: don't know I like it. I mean I hadn't even
- 17:05Speaker 1: it hadn't even occurred to me until you said it.
- 17:06Speaker 1: And now it's like, oh, that's that's nice. You can
- 17:08Speaker 1: throw some football on, you know, after you do your
- 17:10Speaker 1: presents and stuff, right, eat your food? Yeah, you know,
- 17:13Speaker 1: absolutely not great games, but I mean I guess the
- 17:15Speaker 1: Dolphins want to be probably worth worth watching. That should
- 17:18Speaker 1: be a good game, right, Dolphins Bills, Packers Dolphins Packers?
- 17:22Speaker 1: So who would you what would you rather? You know?
- 17:24Speaker 1: As Christmas Christmas question? Here? Would you rather have to
- 17:28Speaker 1: work on Christmas Day? Or Christmas Eve? Eve? O? Christmas Eve? Yeah?
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm a Christmas Day person, but it kind of depends
- 17:35Speaker 1: on your family and what you guys do. Why I
- 17:37Speaker 1: would if it's all the parties and stuff, I'd much
- 17:39Speaker 1: rather have Christmas Eve off than Christmas. Why what do
- 17:42Speaker 1: you guys do that's different? Nothing. I just enjoyed the day.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You don't enjoy Christmas Eve? Does something happen in your life?
- 17:50Speaker 1: I just think Christmas Day usually he never got a
- 17:53Speaker 1: Red Rider eving here? How did that make you feel?
- 17:57Speaker 1: Down the rabbit hole with me? Now? I think you
- 17:59Speaker 1: you get gets triggered by no stuff stocking. First of all,
- 18:03Speaker 1: Christmas is far and away my favorite holiday, so I
- 18:05Speaker 1: don't ruin this for me. But anyway, Um, you get
- 18:08Speaker 1: up in the morning, you do the thing, especially you know,
- 18:10Speaker 1: with the kids, and you open all the presents and
- 18:13Speaker 1: stuff and that that's kind of like you have that
- 18:14Speaker 1: like anticipation and it's and then really exciting. Then you
- 18:17Speaker 1: get to play with you today, right, and then it's like, Okay,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I got nothing else to do, I might as well
- 18:22Speaker 1: go to work. You know. That's the way I would
- 18:25Speaker 1: look at it. Presents Christmas Eve at midnight, Oh you do.
- 18:28Speaker 1: That's how it's like almost always been with a big
- 18:31Speaker 1: family party Christmas Eve, all the extended cousins too, and
- 18:34Speaker 1: everybody's up at midnight. The one day I could stay
- 18:37Speaker 1: up till midnight. Okay, that's we never did that the
- 18:40Speaker 1: Christmas Eve. Yeah, I think I think it depends. Yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 1: for sure. I know it's standard in Portuguese, like there's
- 18:47Speaker 1: a bunch of seafood dishes for Christmas Eve that you eat.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I think Italians do the same thing. Yeah, but I
- 18:52Speaker 1: started a thing can't confirm about. You know, my family
- 18:55Speaker 1: didn't take but I don't know how many ten years ago.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I get shrimp cocktail clam chowder for Christmas Eve. That's
- 19:02Speaker 1: all you got for Christmas Eve? You got presents, okay,
- 19:06Speaker 1: Oh no presents on Christmas Eve? Oh no presents on
- 19:10Speaker 1: Christmas Eve. Presents are under the tree because Santa brings
- 19:14Speaker 1: them and there's no way that he can possibly have
- 19:17Speaker 1: them on Christmas Eve. So the family presents are Christmas Eve? Correct?
- 19:21Speaker 1: Do you get a couple of presents from Santa the
- 19:23Speaker 1: next morning and then you're not opening presents all morning
- 19:26Speaker 1: on Christmas Eat Christmas Day because you have to rush
- 19:29Speaker 1: to shower and clean the house for people to come
- 19:31Speaker 1: over and all this stuff. So yeah, that's one thing
- 19:33Speaker 1: I missed about when we had to merge our Christmas
- 19:35Speaker 1: traditions was like mine was the same thing, like family
- 19:37Speaker 1: presents are out, but you go to bed, there's not
- 19:39Speaker 1: really anything under the tree and then you wake up
- 19:41Speaker 1: and every Santa has come. And we kind of went
- 19:44Speaker 1: with my wife's model, which was just the presents are there,
- 19:48Speaker 1: you know, and were I think, I think the kids right, like,
- 19:51Speaker 1: your traditions immediately have to take a back seat. Oh
- 19:53Speaker 1: we had, we we balanced, There was there was some
- 19:56Speaker 1: I have no balance the other one I ed in,
- 19:58Speaker 1: like was that uh that day I think I said,
- 20:00Speaker 1: where they would like take their presence and just pull
- 20:01Speaker 1: everything out under the tree and divide it all up,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and then everybody just kind of sits there and you
- 20:05Speaker 1: do still go around, right, but you kind of know
- 20:07Speaker 1: what's there, and I like, like someone play Sanna and
- 20:09Speaker 1: you don't really know right when your last presents coming
- 20:12Speaker 1: or how many there are left, and all, here's one
- 20:14Speaker 1: for you. This one's mind, you know, um that kind
- 20:17Speaker 1: of thing. So I do miss it, but you know,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you gotta make like what if you know, someday, if
- 20:20Speaker 1: you get married and you have somebody that's like, I'm
- 20:22Speaker 1: not standing up till midnight, we get up in the morning,
- 20:24Speaker 1: and then you know you're gonna have to make some
- 20:26Speaker 1: Well I'm the mom's side, so the mom's side always prevails.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You know, it is true that fact, and that's it. Yeah, right,
- 20:34Speaker 1: why do you do it like that? Because that's what
- 20:35Speaker 1: I said, Well, yeah, you probably do all the work too,
- 20:39Speaker 1: so like, oh, no question. So that guy's like, sure
- 20:43Speaker 1: that does everyone who does the shopping, who does the rapping, rapping,
- 20:47Speaker 1: I'll never forget just coming home from my dad it's
- 20:50Speaker 1: my dad's side that does the big things or the
- 20:52Speaker 1: big Christmas Eve. And then coming home like one in
- 20:55Speaker 1: the morning and my mom is up and only started
- 20:57Speaker 1: rapping presents and she's gonna be up till three. I
- 21:00Speaker 1: oh man, she's crazy though. Yeah, all right, people are like,
- 21:04Speaker 1: what are they doing? So we're talking about we're talking
- 21:06Speaker 1: about football. I was talking about would you rather have
- 21:08Speaker 1: this game on Christmas Eve? Be on Saturday or Sunday.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I'm I'm actually thankful that it's Christmas. If it was
- 21:14Speaker 1: a road game, I'd be okay. Well not for I'd
- 21:18Speaker 1: still be on the road. It's not for you. I'm selfish.
- 21:21Speaker 1: It's the best excuse to be like, sorry, I can't
- 21:25Speaker 1: take enough of my family. My family's too much right now. Sorry, guys,
- 21:28Speaker 1: I gotta go work. Have to go work. You don't
- 21:30Speaker 1: have to do that. You are working, you don't have
- 21:33Speaker 1: to quote. Yeah. I'm hoping that we can get out
- 21:36Speaker 1: of here um quickly, and that everybody else is thinking
- 21:40Speaker 1: the same way. I am, like, let's get up out
- 21:43Speaker 1: of this. It's the Bengals, so it might be a
- 21:44Speaker 1: long show, Paul, we might have a lot to talk about.
- 21:46Speaker 1: You got an hour and us for the post Maybe
- 21:49Speaker 1: we go three. Maybe we just extended a little bit
- 21:51Speaker 1: shut you at a Barbie dreamhouse to build. So take
- 21:54Speaker 1: that into a count friends an hour hour fifteen, you
- 21:57Speaker 1: come down with your regressive classes in college that you
- 22:00Speaker 1: guys can track Santah while you're doing that, why don't
- 22:02Speaker 1: we put it that went you know how that went? There?
- 22:07Speaker 1: The subtlety you guys can track Santa doesn't sound like
- 22:10Speaker 1: fred AND's aggressive glasses are coming down for a postgame
- 22:12Speaker 1: this week. I'll be there, of course, I'll be there
- 22:15Speaker 1: next week. Our hour fifteen. We can get by. We'll
- 22:17Speaker 1: just run Bill and Mac on a loop and we'll
- 22:19Speaker 1: just go. I gotta say though, to be honest, getting
- 22:22Speaker 1: to see Joe Burrow play and chase that, Oh, I'm
- 22:24Speaker 1: looking forward to the game. That is the funny part.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Is I am really looking forward to because that's not
- 22:28Speaker 1: a team we see a lot. Yeah, and I'd like
- 22:30Speaker 1: to see them in person and see if it looks
- 22:32Speaker 1: as good you know when you when you watch it.
- 22:34Speaker 1: But I am concerned about the stupid traffic. Oh yeah,
- 22:38Speaker 1: I hope everybody says it's Christmas Eve. We got to
- 22:40Speaker 1: get out of here, though, I mean Christmas Eve, it'll
- 22:42Speaker 1: be oh yeah, I'm being in this. There's nothing worse
- 22:44Speaker 1: than everything. You're looking forward to getting out of here,
- 22:48Speaker 1: and then you get it on like ninety five, it's like, shoot, yeah,
- 22:53Speaker 1: that's the worst, especially when weekly because it's like three
- 22:55Speaker 1: hours later and they're like, why is there still traffic
- 22:59Speaker 1: the postgame part party? Yeah not me, all right? Eight
- 23:03Speaker 1: five five five hundred is the Ace ticket hut line
- 23:06Speaker 1: web radio at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 23:09Speaker 1: We've got picks later. So with a hurry, let's get
- 23:12Speaker 1: people involved now. Um see what they have to say
- 23:15Speaker 1: about this game coming up? FedEx the sheet from Arizona
- 23:20Speaker 1: to Mike. He forgot it again. I know Evan's listening.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Bring down my sheet. I forgot it again. All right,
- 23:27Speaker 1: let's go over to the Ace ticket hout line. Sean's
- 23:29Speaker 1: in Vancouver. What's up, Sean? Sean? Seannie? Oh? I thought
- 23:36Speaker 1: that was Evan with your sheet. Sean, vancou and Vancouver
- 23:41Speaker 1: callback if you want Mike's and Vermont. What's up? Mike?
- 23:45Speaker 1: I always wondering whatever I think about hopefully Tom coming
- 23:48Speaker 1: back next year. I don't think just much of a
- 23:52Speaker 1: shot of that, and I'm not really all that interested. Yeah, no,
- 23:58Speaker 1: I don't think you'll probably get Jools too if you
- 23:59Speaker 1: get to him. Yeah, I mean maybe Torry Brown. That's
- 24:04Speaker 1: what I'd like to see is Tom grown and Edelman
- 24:07Speaker 1: come back. Gives for one season. Now let's move on.
- 24:10Speaker 1: We've got to move on. Yeah we okay, all right,
- 24:14Speaker 1: Well you guys have fun. Okay, Thanks Mike, Thanks Mike. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'm not as and I get it. I'm just not
- 24:19Speaker 1: as enthusiastic about going backward for even if it's a
- 24:23Speaker 1: year of success. I don't think you're going to win
- 24:25Speaker 1: the super Bowl with that. So for the record, I
- 24:27Speaker 1: would welcome Tom Brady back. Yeah, I'm not going to
- 24:31Speaker 1: tell him, no, you're not welcome here. I just don't
- 24:33Speaker 1: think that's the best for the team in general. Right, Well,
- 24:37Speaker 1: does he want to come back here? Yeah, I've heard.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I don't think he wants about how much he hates us.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I don't think he has any interest in playing for Beligim. Now,
- 24:44Speaker 1: if there's a change, then that's different perspective. I don't know. Yeah,
- 24:48Speaker 1: if anything, I think it's been solidified. It wasn't I
- 24:53Speaker 1: think his rings would disagree. Five year. I mean, well, no,
- 24:58Speaker 1: but he already has early thirties. I would say yeah,
- 25:02Speaker 1: but he's not come well. Well, I don't think Gronk
- 25:04Speaker 1: is playing. But the Brady thing is the one that's
- 25:07Speaker 1: it continues to be in the news. That's why Mike called.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I would say yeah, because his kid's going to Deerfield.
- 25:13Speaker 1: There's rumors of him looking for property. I mean I
- 25:16Speaker 1: think that that would I mean, obviously it would work.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I mean, would I'd rather have mac Jones or Tom Brady?
- 25:21Speaker 1: Tom Brady, I mean, I don't. I don't really feel
- 25:23Speaker 1: like that's a hard question to answer, but I kind
- 25:25Speaker 1: of agree with Fred. I just think you need to
- 25:27Speaker 1: kind of move on, even if it makes you better
- 25:29Speaker 1: next year, it might not be the best thing for
- 25:32Speaker 1: all involved in. I just don't think there's any chance
- 25:34Speaker 1: that Belichick and Brady are going to be together again.
- 25:37Speaker 1: What if we get to a point though, where maybe
- 25:40Speaker 1: God forbid that we decide after this season we're moving
- 25:42Speaker 1: on from mac Jones? Nothing really next year? Why not? Hell?
- 25:47Speaker 1: You forgot about Bailey's app bridge the gap. I think
- 25:50Speaker 1: he's going to San Francisco, right like, I mean, the
- 25:53Speaker 1: thing is I think a better chance he doesn't play anything.
- 25:55Speaker 1: So Brady comes in, You're, you know, another boring twelve
- 25:59Speaker 1: and four D and you're drafting at the bottom of them.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We don't want that. We don't want any more of
- 26:04Speaker 1: those twelve might you know? So you really started, You're
- 26:09Speaker 1: you're doing a one year thing and then you're starting
- 26:11Speaker 1: over again. Yeah. I mean, I I do think if
- 26:15Speaker 1: there wasn't the amount of static involved in it, I
- 26:18Speaker 1: would be able to embrace the bridge thing that Alex
- 26:21Speaker 1: is talking about. But I just don't see it working neither.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Like Belichick said, you're too old at forty two, but
- 26:28Speaker 1: I'll take you at forty six. I mean mostly, I'm
- 26:31Speaker 1: just mad that Jeff how feels like through something against
- 26:33Speaker 1: the wall and now everyone thinks it's a possibility. Jeff
- 26:36Speaker 1: took like two separate interviews that they each respectively did
- 26:40Speaker 1: that was moderately complimentary of each other. It's like, oh
- 26:43Speaker 1: my god, they like each other again. You got you
- 26:46Speaker 1: guys are better than I. I didn't even waste my
- 26:48Speaker 1: time reading it. I don't know. The Greg Hill Show
- 26:51Speaker 1: was sent out a tweet. The first time I came
- 26:54Speaker 1: across of it was a tweet from the Greg Hill
- 26:56Speaker 1: Show that was like calling it a report from Jeff Howe.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I was like, this is a report or an opinion piece,
- 27:02Speaker 1: so I had to look into it. That's pretty big show,
- 27:05Speaker 1: though I know I think so too. Oh, I didn't
- 27:07Speaker 1: even think of that. That is impression. She's hate hate listening.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I support Coco hate listening. Um Ali and Tennessee writes
- 27:18Speaker 1: in at web radio at Patriots dot com. Assuming Madre
- 27:21Speaker 1: is not at one hundred percent, which rookie quarter running
- 27:24Speaker 1: back would you hypothetically start in your fantasy playoff game?
- 27:27Speaker 1: Who will get more carries? Harris is strong, You have
- 27:30Speaker 1: to have a better option on the waiver wire a
- 27:33Speaker 1: and also if you really want, like go go and
- 27:37Speaker 1: look and see who's available in the league, like you're
- 27:39Speaker 1: gonna put all your eggs and trying to pick the
- 27:42Speaker 1: one who's going to score a touchdown. Like I mean,
- 27:45Speaker 1: last week you would have gotten lucky. You know, you
- 27:47Speaker 1: got a touchdown either way, but you went fantasy. I
- 27:49Speaker 1: was thinking you were saying, no, I'm real hats, need
- 27:51Speaker 1: to go to the real waiver Wow, find somebody like
- 27:54Speaker 1: oh no, no, no, no, no no, I'm talking about
- 27:56Speaker 1: for his nookus again. No, those two guys did fine.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Last week. You know, actually in real football, they you
- 28:05Speaker 1: know that they did fine, But he's talking about his
- 28:08Speaker 1: fantasy playoffs. If you lost Stevenson, I think you need
- 28:12Speaker 1: to get somebody off the waiver wire or you don't
- 28:14Speaker 1: want to replace them with. But if you had complete
- 28:16Speaker 1: total unknown, maybe Harris. I mean, I don't know. I
- 28:19Speaker 1: just think if they got any goal line, he probably gets.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Running backs are the demographic of running backs I would
- 28:26Speaker 1: avoid at all costs because it's just historically And I mean,
- 28:29Speaker 1: how about Damian Harris, Like, you know, we could really
- 28:32Speaker 1: use him to come back this week. I mean, I
- 28:34Speaker 1: think that's he's been practice. He did he did practice, Yeah,
- 28:37Speaker 1: but he did practice. If you're at the Patriots, do
- 28:39Speaker 1: you try to shorten the game by establishing the run
- 28:42Speaker 1: and run as much as you can. That doesn't mean anything.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I mean, which the record and teams have the time
- 28:47Speaker 1: of possession advantage, well, you know, doesn't mean minimize the
- 28:50Speaker 1: amount of time that the Vegas offenses on the field. Yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I mean I would just say
- 28:56Speaker 1: generally for the Patriots offense to continue to try to
- 28:59Speaker 1: sustain drive and you know, I mean that that's been
- 29:01Speaker 1: one of their weaknesses this year. They're you know, not
- 29:03Speaker 1: a lot of drives that go ten plus plays, there's
- 29:06Speaker 1: you know, six, and they have a penalty and a
- 29:09Speaker 1: big play kind of mixed in a little bit. But
- 29:12Speaker 1: I just I think this game, and I don't want
- 29:14Speaker 1: to like get ahead of myself because I think they're
- 29:16Speaker 1: gonna need similar efforts for the next three games. But
- 29:18Speaker 1: I just I think they need their best game. They
- 29:20Speaker 1: need a I don't want to say perfect game, but
- 29:22Speaker 1: probably pretty close to a perfect game. And they're probably
- 29:25Speaker 1: gonna need a perfect game pretty much for the Cincinnati
- 29:28Speaker 1: and Buffalo for sure. This one, I think is a
- 29:30Speaker 1: bad defense. I think you can stay on the field,
- 29:33Speaker 1: like Fred said, against this defense. I just guess the
- 29:36Speaker 1: way I'm coming at it is, I'm expecting that, Yes,
- 29:39Speaker 1: I think that they can have some success against the defense,
- 29:41Speaker 1: but I think they need a lot of it. Like
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think they're gonna need to put up thirty points
- 29:45Speaker 1: plus and you know, so it's one thing to say, yeah,
- 29:48Speaker 1: we canna have some success and score twenty points, but
- 29:51Speaker 1: can we get to thirty four? Can we you know,
- 29:53Speaker 1: get up into the thirties. And I think they're gonna
- 29:56Speaker 1: help them wrong. I think they're gonna have to throw
- 29:58Speaker 1: the ball to do that, not just because of the injuries,
- 30:00Speaker 1: but I think you need to you need to score
- 30:04Speaker 1: the way you're talking about, You're not going to score
- 30:06Speaker 1: those kinds of points if you're just running the ball,
- 30:08Speaker 1: especially if you're missing Harris and Stevenson. Now again, Harris
- 30:12Speaker 1: practiced yesterday, so maybe there's a chance that he's back
- 30:15Speaker 1: in there. I don't know, if you had to the
- 30:18Speaker 1: fantasy thing, I think Mike says, you know, like the
- 30:21Speaker 1: the goal line carries will probably go to Kevin Harris
- 30:23Speaker 1: if if it was just Harrison and Strong, But I
- 30:27Speaker 1: would make an argument for Strong in terms of being
- 30:30Speaker 1: probably more productive, more opportunity to maybe have three catches. Yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 1: you know, you know, I don't know exactly what they
- 30:37Speaker 1: would do if both of those guys weren't playing. But
- 30:39Speaker 1: I think Damian Harris I think has a chance to play. Yeah, Stevenson,
- 30:42Speaker 1: I'm watching about him. We need him. Michael from Texas,
- 30:47Speaker 1: if you had to choose one of the following for
- 30:49Speaker 1: the twenty twenty three season, which would it be A
- 30:52Speaker 1: Keith mac is a starter? Coaches stay the same, We
- 30:54Speaker 1: lose agil Or Parker and Bourne, but give up three
- 30:57Speaker 1: first round draft picks for Davante Adams or B B.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Zappy is the starter. Players stay the same, we get
- 31:04Speaker 1: a new OC and Edelman comes back, however Remondri is
- 31:08Speaker 1: out for the year, or see Brady comes back. All
- 31:11Speaker 1: players and coaches remain but the same, but we have
- 31:15Speaker 1: to give up Max, Zappy and Remandre. I'll take a hey, yeah, yeah,
- 31:20Speaker 1: I guess so yeah, Davante Adams here, believe me, that
- 31:23Speaker 1: would be I'm glad they're all really realistic. I just
- 31:29Speaker 1: liked the games. Fred, I don't know. I like to play.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I like to play Justin and Texas. Another Texas emailer,
- 31:37Speaker 1: you guys hit on something yesterday with the coaches making
- 31:39Speaker 1: mistakes versus the players. Mattie p will be back next
- 31:43Speaker 1: year because I think Bill thinks the players just aren't executing,
- 31:46Speaker 1: rather than Mattie Pe being totally inept at his current job.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Hope they bring in a young mind, but I just
- 31:52Speaker 1: don't see it. Yeah, I don't know, man. It's it's
- 31:57Speaker 1: as much as I'm totally on board with with what
- 31:59Speaker 1: we been talking about with getting an influx of new perspectives. Offensively,
- 32:04Speaker 1: I mean, I hate to say it. But I mean,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I think if things are just allowed to continue as
- 32:09Speaker 1: they were, that they are going to try to run
- 32:11Speaker 1: it back, and you know, maybe they try to upgrade
- 32:13Speaker 1: the personnel. But I don't know. I just I get
- 32:17Speaker 1: a bad feeling about unless it's kind of comes from
- 32:21Speaker 1: an edict on high of what needs to happen. I
- 32:24Speaker 1: don't know, I do. I do think that they think
- 32:26Speaker 1: if we could just get them to do what we
- 32:27Speaker 1: want them to do, they'd be fine. But I think
- 32:31Speaker 1: most of the people now are like, no, no, they wouldn't,
- 32:33Speaker 1: like you don't know what you're doing. Travis from Collierville, Tennessee,
- 32:37Speaker 1: writing in about the Paul and Evan beef, idn't know.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I didn't know we had one. Well at the close
- 32:43Speaker 1: of Thursday show, I guess last week y'all were debating
- 32:48Speaker 1: draft positioning and Evans said there is no Jalen Waddle
- 32:51Speaker 1: in this coming draft. Paul talked himself into his argument,
- 32:55Speaker 1: but refers to Evan's argument, Well, you're a Simmons guy
- 32:58Speaker 1: from USC Paul, were you calling out Evan's bad sports
- 33:03Speaker 1: media education? Or is in decisiveness by picking all sides
- 33:07Speaker 1: of the argument um? We had Eric for so long,
- 33:11Speaker 1: Please elaborate on the background of your swipe at Evan
- 33:14Speaker 1: so we may better understand him in any dating life updates.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I don't know what that means, but I don't really
- 33:21Speaker 1: know what any of it means. Yeah, I think Evan
- 33:23Speaker 1: is really high on a receiver from USC. I think
- 33:26Speaker 1: his name is Simmons. This is a kid that transferred
- 33:28Speaker 1: from pitt to USC. So did he think that he
- 33:31Speaker 1: went to Simmons College? I don't know what he thinks.
- 33:33Speaker 1: But we had no beef because I think we were
- 33:35Speaker 1: talking about the same thing. Yeah, the beef was like
- 33:38Speaker 1: three or four was actually longer than that. That that
- 33:42Speaker 1: about two what kind Oh I thought you're gonna say,
- 33:44Speaker 1: what constitute's going off for? Justin Jefferson? That was Oh yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 1: that was a beef. That was That was a disagreement. Yeah,
- 33:49Speaker 1: I mean they held him under wraps, you know, four
- 33:53Speaker 1: hundred and forty yards. You know that that to me
- 33:55Speaker 1: is a disagreement. Is who that dating life is? I
- 33:58Speaker 1: think that's barth right because it doesn't even make fun
- 34:01Speaker 1: of Alex for you know, just watching college football rattles
- 34:04Speaker 1: the cage all the time in like in front of
- 34:07Speaker 1: people too, like in the best best true. I'm like,
- 34:10Speaker 1: go easy on for Alex here. Wow. I try to
- 34:14Speaker 1: go easy on the newcomers, so I don't want them
- 34:16Speaker 1: to be completely frightened off. Fred Fred my target. At
- 34:19Speaker 1: some point though, we'll have to take the gloves off, right,
- 34:21Speaker 1: Yeah with Evan. Yeah, I'll let you guys do that.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I don't want to get fired. Oh come on, no,
- 34:26Speaker 1: it's fun. Yeah, he gets he gets like pissy, you
- 34:30Speaker 1: know it's good. Yeah. Sorry, Well that's why Fred, you
- 34:34Speaker 1: were saying. I think Eric came up and you're like, oh,
- 34:36Speaker 1: it used to be fun to be able to rattle
- 34:38Speaker 1: cage you like that and something. And I said, and
- 34:39Speaker 1: I don't know if you caught it, but like I
- 34:41Speaker 1: was like, well maybe he'll be able to do it
- 34:42Speaker 1: again some day soon too, And I caught it. Evan
- 34:46Speaker 1: does not like oh no, but he'll kill chirp backs.
- 34:50Speaker 1: That's why. That's why it's not fun. That's why it
- 34:52Speaker 1: is fun. See. I think Fred enjoys the back and
- 34:58Speaker 1: forth like I, which I said this a million times.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You've never seen Fred in his element the way he
- 35:04Speaker 1: used to go at Felger when Felger one hundred years ago.
- 35:07Speaker 1: You used to do Patriots Fridays on the old ESPN
- 35:09Speaker 1: raiwar pay to see that. Fred absolutely relished it, and
- 35:14Speaker 1: I think Fred likes doing it, like the back and forth,
- 35:16Speaker 1: you know, the spring. Fred enjoy it. But if you know,
- 35:19Speaker 1: he gives me that sideways smirk in the middle. But
- 35:21Speaker 1: I am kind of a bully, like if you show
- 35:24Speaker 1: me that it's getting to you, that gives me encouragement.
- 35:27Speaker 1: An agonizer. Yeah, and that's why by the time I
- 35:30Speaker 1: arrived at the show, Fred had like a collection of
- 35:32Speaker 1: things with Eric where it would just be like what
- 35:34Speaker 1: are we wearing today? Or like you just saw it coming, Like, oh,
- 35:38Speaker 1: I guess Fred, you're going with the waffle weave under
- 35:40Speaker 1: the That's a weird look you this big animal rights guy.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Yet those are nice leather shoes you've got on that
- 35:48Speaker 1: The cat the cat one when he going on his
- 35:50Speaker 1: cat about not getting his cat taking his cat to
- 35:53Speaker 1: the vet, well, he's so ambiguous about like is it
- 35:56Speaker 1: a stray cat that you don't let in or is
- 35:58Speaker 1: it your cat? Now you know, he just won't give
- 36:01Speaker 1: you an honest answer. He's he's guarded funny, and then
- 36:06Speaker 1: he would just have to like consent and give you
- 36:08Speaker 1: what you wanted, because he kept badgering him about it. Yes, cat,
- 36:12Speaker 1: what was the cat's name? Through him? What the cat's
- 36:13Speaker 1: name was? Meg? That that did not make that? Was
- 36:19Speaker 1: that the name or was that the charity? I don't know.
- 36:21Speaker 1: It's both both. I don't know. I don't know. Poor Eric,
- 36:25Speaker 1: he's not even here to I was good. I wouldn't
- 36:28Speaker 1: say not even here to defend himself because he wouldn't
- 36:30Speaker 1: his legacy live, you know. Oh yeah, he carved out
- 36:33Speaker 1: a niche by getting that we all want to have
- 36:35Speaker 1: as a legacy. Right, he's got one, right Snoop guy
- 36:40Speaker 1: on ESPN looks like Rich Keith. Yeah, a little bit.
- 36:43Speaker 1: He's still like that. He's like the head of the
- 36:44Speaker 1: taild Murphy. That's a little bit eyebrows on both of them. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: it's one on the top two. I like Randy Scott.
- 36:52Speaker 1: He's funny. Um to him. He was at Nes did
- 36:56Speaker 1: you guys cross Paul? Yeah? I remember, Um. The name
- 36:59Speaker 1: is familiar. But no, Yeah, they didn't let you near
- 37:02Speaker 1: the talent. No they did not. Actually, there were there
- 37:07Speaker 1: were some. There was at least one slime ball. There
- 37:10Speaker 1: wasn't there. Yeah, Todds to North Carolina what's up, Todd?
- 37:16Speaker 1: Jared stun him. I was, I was talking with a
- 37:19Speaker 1: friend and he's got a really interesting take on this
- 37:21Speaker 1: upcoming game as a Mac Jones revenge game for leaving
- 37:25Speaker 1: me with these crazy blue Blie leepers. So wait, so then,
- 37:29Speaker 1: who's who's he gonna do? So, who's who's going to
- 37:32Speaker 1: sabotage the game for the Patriots? Yeah? Like that that
- 37:36Speaker 1: a bad thing? Know, I kind of like it. I
- 37:39Speaker 1: think maybe if he goes out there and you know,
- 37:41Speaker 1: some help puts up thirty some points and we squeak
- 37:44Speaker 1: out a win, I'd be pretty impressed. Oh, I mean,
- 37:48Speaker 1: I just yeah, I just don't get the revenge, the
- 37:53Speaker 1: revenge pos he probably left me. I could I ask him.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I could see him like clinging to Josh's leg as
- 38:02Speaker 1: he's walking up. Please don't leave, That's what I was
- 38:05Speaker 1: going to say. Like he walks the Raiders sideline, It
- 38:07Speaker 1: just sits on the Raiders bench like, what are you?
- 38:08Speaker 1: What are you doing? Bro? You know, after the after
- 38:11Speaker 1: the first three and out, he goes over to talk
- 38:13Speaker 1: to Josh because I was just I haven't had a
- 38:15Speaker 1: chance to do this all year. I was just gonna
- 38:16Speaker 1: say time out. He goes over to the ra Raiders bench, yah,
- 38:20Speaker 1: or just like looks over. I think that we're going
- 38:23Speaker 1: to win this game. I just think that Mac is
- 38:25Speaker 1: going to step it up. Well, you you said we
- 38:27Speaker 1: were gonna absolutely lose last game, right or was that
- 38:30Speaker 1: pat Well? I don't I shouldn't say that. I ended
- 38:34Speaker 1: up picking the Patriots on the pregame show, but I
- 38:36Speaker 1: had picked Arizona earlier in the week. I don't make
- 38:39Speaker 1: fun of anybody for picking the Arizona in that game.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I went, I don't any no one knew that the
- 38:43Speaker 1: quarterback was going to go down with the twenty acl
- 38:45Speaker 1: three plays, I think they would have beat him. Other
- 38:47Speaker 1: they might have. They might have, but I mean we
- 38:49Speaker 1: will never know. Anybody who picked it didn't get a
- 38:53Speaker 1: chance to see their pick, right, That's all I'm saying.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I wouldn't make fun of somebody for picking Arizona in
- 38:58Speaker 1: that game, now that's fair. But my prediction is pain
- 39:02Speaker 1: for the Raiders. I'm thinking we're gonna get four to
- 39:03Speaker 1: five sacks on him or this game and at least
- 39:06Speaker 1: one pick, and that's how we're gonna win. A man,
- 39:09Speaker 1: Thanks Tod, I hope you're right. Well, me too, jeez uh,
- 39:13Speaker 1: telling her is in the Bay Area, what's up? Telling
- 39:16Speaker 1: her to Linger? Tully to Linger, it's tall Linger. Okay, hey,
- 39:22Speaker 1: thanks for taking about call. Happy holidays to all of
- 39:24Speaker 1: you guys. Thank you. I'm actually excited for the game.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I'll be there this week again. I wanted to talk
- 39:29Speaker 1: about a possible wide recea re coggition for next week.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I know Paul Lex T. Higgins who was much younger,
- 39:34Speaker 1: but I think there might be a chance that Mike
- 39:36Speaker 1: Evans or DeAndre Hopkins might be on the market. I
- 39:40Speaker 1: don't know if you guys saw the video that was
- 39:41Speaker 1: kind of floating last night on NFL Network where is
- 39:44Speaker 1: talking to Bill Belichick and how much he loves him
- 39:47Speaker 1: and vice versa. I don't There were some rulers that
- 39:50Speaker 1: Patriots were interested in trading for him when he got
- 39:53Speaker 1: traded to Arizona from Houston and he got traded and
- 39:57Speaker 1: didn't trade for him. I know what they was rumors
- 40:00Speaker 1: right there they might be they were. They were also
- 40:03Speaker 1: interested in him. He was available, so if they were interested,
- 40:07Speaker 1: they would have gotten him like well, unless they got
- 40:10Speaker 1: out bid. Yeah, they want to turn him to the Patriots.
- 40:13Speaker 1: They want to turn him to the NFC team, Yeah right,
- 40:16Speaker 1: but I would be interested him. I don't know if
- 40:18Speaker 1: you Yeah, I don't know, Like I think the Tampa
- 40:22Speaker 1: guys Evans and Godwin are worth um worth discussion because
- 40:25Speaker 1: I think Brady's gone, and you just wonder if they're
- 40:29Speaker 1: going to try to go in a different direction, you know,
- 40:31Speaker 1: so maybe maybe one of those two veterans is available. Hopkins,
- 40:34Speaker 1: I think is a huge part of the Cardinals. I don't.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I mean, that's absolutely I mean I think and I know,
- 40:41Speaker 1: like this was on and I'm not making fun of
- 40:43Speaker 1: telling you because this was a big thing on Twitter,
- 40:47Speaker 1: the whole talk. I just think if if you got
- 40:50Speaker 1: a chance to listen to the conversations that Belichick has
- 40:54Speaker 1: with opponents every week, you think the whole league was
- 40:56Speaker 1: about to sign with the Patriots. I'm just, oh, yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: I think he has tremendous respect for a lot of
- 41:01Speaker 1: different players that he doesn't necessarily talk about with us,
- 41:04Speaker 1: but you see it on the field. Yeah, you know, um,
- 41:08Speaker 1: you know, like did he ever express any more like
- 41:12Speaker 1: just respect to anybody other more than dread I was
- 41:16Speaker 1: just gonna say, and then caught him on the sideline
- 41:18Speaker 1: with that. It was almost it was almost like uncomfortable, like, right, man,
- 41:22Speaker 1: it's so good Patriots, Like I just think that, Yeah,
- 41:26Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not telling you there's no chance because like,
- 41:29Speaker 1: who knows, Like maybe maybe Murray's gonna be out longer
- 41:32Speaker 1: than people think, you know, I know, initially people are thinking,
- 41:36Speaker 1: you know, okay, this should be good enough that early
- 41:38Speaker 1: in the season, if not for the start of the
- 41:40Speaker 1: season he's expected to be ready. That could change, and
- 41:43Speaker 1: maybe DeAndre Hopkins says, well, I can't afford to wait
- 41:45Speaker 1: around half a year with no quarterback. I want out.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Maybe who knows. Yeah, these things happen. It's but of
- 41:51Speaker 1: the three and Godwin or Hopkins, which would you take? Hopkins? Yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 1: I would sure. Evans seems like I don't know what's
- 41:57Speaker 1: going on with him. I mean him and Brady. I
- 41:59Speaker 1: don't know if it's Brady's fallen off, He's fallen off.
- 42:01Speaker 1: They're both falling up. But it's just they don't It's
- 42:03Speaker 1: they don't even look like number one receiver anymore. It's
- 42:05Speaker 1: just they look on those same wrong page. You look
- 42:07Speaker 1: like they're just not I'd be really interested in Godwin
- 42:09Speaker 1: because I like the guy. The year after the town
- 42:12Speaker 1: Acl yeah, you know, yeah, I think that you get
- 42:16Speaker 1: a little bit closer version of the old self after
- 42:20Speaker 1: some time. Lots of emails coming in. I would take
- 42:24Speaker 1: any of those three. However, of course, Hopkins is like
- 42:27Speaker 1: made in a test tube for the sole purpose of
- 42:29Speaker 1: catching footballs. He's that's deep. He's really good. That's deep.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Eric writes, And I'm road tripping from Colorado with my
- 42:38Speaker 1: dad with my debt. No, this is with Ah. He's
- 42:44Speaker 1: with his dad's sister brother in law to Vegas for
- 42:46Speaker 1: the game this week, and we'll be listening to the
- 42:48Speaker 1: World's Original podcast while driving the eleven hour trip on Saturday.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I'm wondering if you know of any Patriots tailgating or
- 42:56Speaker 1: gatherings that will be happening before the game that is
- 43:00Speaker 1: not inside the corporate MGM MODELO tailgate area. UM check
- 43:05Speaker 1: with Barry. I know. I mean, I've seen it on Facebook.
- 43:07Speaker 1: They've had a bunch of stuff up of go to
- 43:09Speaker 1: Patriots tailgate on Facebook and they're you're not hosting anything
- 43:13Speaker 1: this week. No, No, they're doing something. I think they're
- 43:15Speaker 1: trying to do something on the strip in the morning
- 43:18Speaker 1: before the game. I think they're they're At last I
- 43:20Speaker 1: saw they were trying. So there's definitely stuff going on.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Go to find Patriots tailgate. Patriots tailgate on face. They
- 43:24Speaker 1: have a fan club out in Vegas. Oh yeah, yeah
- 43:27Speaker 1: in Vegas. I'm not sure if there's an actual Vegas
- 43:30Speaker 1: proper fan like friends. Nie. Oh yeah, Oh wait a minute,
- 43:34Speaker 1: I'm not sure. But well Arizona, Yeah, probably heavily, Arizonas too. Yeah.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Where do you say was going down? D's going Denver
- 43:41Speaker 1: to Colorado, to Colorado, he says. My game prediction is
- 43:46Speaker 1: twenty twenty four Patriots win, which as of today would
- 43:50Speaker 1: be just under the overrunder of forty four and a
- 43:52Speaker 1: half seven points for the Patriots coming from a muffly
- 43:55Speaker 1: fick flee flicker attempt by the Raiders run back for
- 43:59Speaker 1: touch down by Dietrich Wise. Nice, I like the specific Yeah, ps, Fred,
- 44:04Speaker 1: if you're just ever curious being from Colorado, I know
- 44:07Speaker 1: the secret to how Denver only plays home games. I'd
- 44:10Speaker 1: let you in on the secret, but then you know
- 44:12Speaker 1: what the sharps know. Also just curious. Yeah, yeah, I'm
- 44:19Speaker 1: a big fan of that email. No you don't like
- 44:21Speaker 1: the email, No, I'm a big fan of that email.
- 44:23Speaker 1: A lot of subtleties in there making fun of all
- 44:26Speaker 1: of us. I like it. Yeah, she's talking about test
- 44:32Speaker 1: tubes and whoses, Mike and BOC over time, disrespectful to
- 44:35Speaker 1: his I want to make a recommend I want to
- 44:38Speaker 1: make a recommendation for the next Patriots OC. Rather than
- 44:41Speaker 1: start with his name, I'll begin with his qualifications A
- 44:45Speaker 1: game out of the next. This is the greatest show ever,
- 44:48Speaker 1: So I'll just keep reading at any time you can. Yeah,
- 44:51Speaker 1: but once you guess, you're yeah, that's it. He played
- 44:53Speaker 1: six years in the Patriots system with each of Josh,
- 44:56Speaker 1: with Josh Daniels and Bill O'Brien. He has had hundreds
- 45:00Speaker 1: of passes from both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. He
- 45:03Speaker 1: clearly understands how to see the game through the eyes
- 45:05Speaker 1: of the quarterback in that's welcome, was the answer. Yeah, Yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 1: he's down at what Miami's receiver coach right now? Yeah.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Not not a terrible suggestion and not one that I've
- 45:16Speaker 1: heard of anywhere anyone. But you talk about Frost, he's
- 45:19Speaker 1: doing a great job. I mean, would Belichick ever bring
- 45:21Speaker 1: Wes Welker on to his staff. You guys probably speak
- 45:25Speaker 1: to that more than me. I don't know what what
- 45:26Speaker 1: it was like when he left. I know that obviously
- 45:28Speaker 1: the benching in the playoff was not bent, and there
- 45:31Speaker 1: was a whole thing when he left, Like you know,
- 45:35Speaker 1: I think his agent said that the Patriots the money too. Yeah,
- 45:39Speaker 1: they franchised him and didn't expect him to sign it,
- 45:41Speaker 1: and he signed it right away and they got pissed.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Yeah it's too soon. Yeah, it's uh, it's kind of
- 45:47Speaker 1: nice to stick it in Bill's face every once in
- 45:49Speaker 1: a while. So this this is definitely well, there you go.
- 45:52Speaker 1: But I who says that as a Patriots player? But
- 45:55Speaker 1: have you passed it? Though? Bill wished him good luck
- 45:57Speaker 1: in his US Open qualifying Yeah, yeah, a long time ago. Yeah,
- 46:02Speaker 1: it's hard to tell, like grudges or I don't know, Yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 1: does he still do they feel? I mean it's like,
- 46:10Speaker 1: give a look of the fundele now, I don't know
- 46:13Speaker 1: the US Open store. I wonder how West is as
- 46:15Speaker 1: a coach, you know. See again I wish Scout was
- 46:19Speaker 1: here because he could go right into a coach impression.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Um yeah, I mean, Tyreek, just do what you do?
- 46:27Speaker 1: I mean yeah, no, everything started with either no, yeah
- 46:31Speaker 1: or yeah no, super excited. That's grow of my best.
- 46:37Speaker 1: That's Gronk, that's the best, the best of abilities. Uh speaking,
- 46:44Speaker 1: freds No says last offseason, I believe both Pepe and
- 46:48Speaker 1: the Duce express significant concern regarding DeVante Parker's injury PRONEUS
- 46:53Speaker 1: and potential to miss time. I cannot, for the life
- 46:56Speaker 1: of me explain their lack of peacocking on the front
- 46:59Speaker 1: because I don't find injuries fun. Yeah, like I don't.
- 47:03Speaker 1: I don't celebrate injuries as others do. He said, the
- 47:05Speaker 1: next time he plays a full season will be the first.
- 47:08Speaker 1: You were clearly correct, and therefore are expected to trumpet
- 47:11Speaker 1: your rightness with a healthy side of big beefy sniffs. No,
- 47:16Speaker 1: I got a trumpet my wrongness because I was, you know,
- 47:19Speaker 1: more enthusiastic about anyway. As for this flexed out Vegas tussle,
- 47:24Speaker 1: neither team can figure it out in a seventeen seventeen
- 47:27Speaker 1: bartastic tie for the Ages someways that probably be appropriate,
- 47:32Speaker 1: But that would be appropriate, probly the only thing that
- 47:35Speaker 1: the Raiders haven't done. Tie. But I'm gonna keep that
- 47:40Speaker 1: Welker thing in my head because I haven't heard anybody
- 47:42Speaker 1: say that. Quick correction, it was Woodhead, not Welker or
- 47:45Speaker 1: the US Open thing. Yeah, I was trying to Danny Woodhead.
- 47:50Speaker 1: You know that's why I you know, Mike's looking at me.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I was like, you have a quizzical look. It's like
- 47:53Speaker 1: I don't know the Welker story. And then after you
- 47:55Speaker 1: saw that, I was like, wait, did I misremember it?
- 47:57Speaker 1: And I did? Um short Connor says he's from Reno,
- 48:02Speaker 1: close to Vegas. So, assuming we move on from or
- 48:06Speaker 1: reassigned Patricia next season, who on this offensive staff do
- 48:10Speaker 1: you want to keep and let go? I mean, who
- 48:13Speaker 1: else is there? This is like it's him and Judge
- 48:17Speaker 1: Troy Brown is the Brown since Billy Yates, Like, I mean,
- 48:23Speaker 1: these guys are such young coaches. I don't really have
- 48:25Speaker 1: any attachment or right, And I'm assuming Nick Tayley is
- 48:28Speaker 1: gonna leave me too. I would like to keep him,
- 48:31Speaker 1: but I'm assuming that's not going to be an option.
- 48:33Speaker 1: I think they got to bring in coaches this year
- 48:35Speaker 1: because if it's lining up like they're gonna lose some coaches, like,
- 48:38Speaker 1: you really gotta stem the time. What do you do
- 48:40Speaker 1: if you start losing defensive coaches? Yeah, if you lose
- 48:46Speaker 1: Mayo or like, right, Matt writes in the Marcus Jones
- 48:53Speaker 1: comparison to Tai Kwan is interesting. I believe Jones can
- 48:56Speaker 1: make guys miss and is a stronger, faster player. Ty
- 49:00Speaker 1: Quan is more straight line speed and from the looks
- 49:02Speaker 1: of it, doesn't run good routes and is learning. If
- 49:04Speaker 1: the Patriots believed Taekwon could run those plays than he would.
- 49:08Speaker 1: The fact that Marcus is coming in the play some
- 49:12Speaker 1: snaps to play some snaps, it's very telling to their
- 49:14Speaker 1: feelings with wide receivers. With that being said, with Marcus
- 49:18Speaker 1: having some success in the slot, shouldn't that tell Bill
- 49:21Speaker 1: that we need a dynamic slot receiver to help our offense.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Last point, I don't think Bill will keep the same
- 49:27Speaker 1: offensive coaches next year. But if he did, what free
- 49:29Speaker 1: agent offensive player is going to want to sign here?
- 49:33Speaker 1: The Patriots would have to play overpay in order to
- 49:36Speaker 1: do that and be in trouble with bad contracts. Again,
- 49:39Speaker 1: love you guys and keep up the great content. That's
- 49:42Speaker 1: another really good email, except for I would say, if
- 49:44Speaker 1: you pay them, they'll come. Yeah, that's what he's saying,
- 49:46Speaker 1: But he said he doesn't want to pay them. I
- 49:48Speaker 1: don't care. I just want good players. So It's one
- 49:51Speaker 1: of the things I've been thinking about for the offseason
- 49:52Speaker 1: is quickness. I don't think they have quickness on this team,
- 49:55Speaker 1: and that's kind of surprising. Like I mean talk about
- 49:58Speaker 1: like speed, sure, like you know, you do have some
- 50:00Speaker 1: some speed, and I think Marcus Jones and Tae Kwon
- 50:03Speaker 1: at some point hopefully we'll show it. But it's just interesting,
- 50:06Speaker 1: Like I just feel like that's a great fit for
- 50:07Speaker 1: Max somebody, you know. I'm always looking at those guys
- 50:09Speaker 1: in Day two and three of the draft. I really
- 50:11Speaker 1: like Kyle Phillips, who you know, has been okay I
- 50:13Speaker 1: think in Tennessee. But I just I think quickness is
- 50:16Speaker 1: what you gotta get guys that can get open quick
- 50:18Speaker 1: because even you know, guys like Thornton, Yeah he's fast,
- 50:21Speaker 1: but he's not getting open right away from Mac Jones
- 50:23Speaker 1: in the face of a blitz. You know. So I
- 50:25Speaker 1: for a team that was built with like the Troy
- 50:27Speaker 1: Browns and the West Welkers and you know, all these
- 50:29Speaker 1: guys who just had incredible quickness inside, and it seemed
- 50:32Speaker 1: like such a priority. The covers are dry right now,
- 50:34Speaker 1: there are not There are no guys like that right now.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Who are you know, the proverbial three cone darlings that
- 50:39Speaker 1: that they always like seem to like like. I mean,
- 50:41Speaker 1: I just was Myers, yeah, and and and and I
- 50:44Speaker 1: like him, but I just, you know, I don't think
- 50:46Speaker 1: that he's gonna run that little whip route that that
- 50:49Speaker 1: that Edelman used to and leave somebody in the dust
- 50:52Speaker 1: with his head. It's like a glaring issue with how
- 50:54Speaker 1: much pressure Mac feels or is under. Are useful would
- 50:58Speaker 1: it be to you know, have a guy who can
- 51:00Speaker 1: ditch somebody and you know, right off the line. And
- 51:02Speaker 1: I mean, I just I think that that would be
- 51:04Speaker 1: an excellent thing for Mac, you know next year in
- 51:07Speaker 1: development that I wish they I wish they had tried
- 51:09Speaker 1: to give it to him this year. Kareem and Boston,
- 51:12Speaker 1: do you think the Patriots are grooming two time Super
- 51:14Speaker 1: Bowl champion defensive coordinator, a newly offensive coordinaor and Matt
- 51:17Speaker 1: Patricia to be the successor to Bill Belichick? It would
- 51:20Speaker 1: be good for him to no offense and defense as
- 51:23Speaker 1: a head coach to America's team. No, no, because as
- 51:27Speaker 1: we said, as friend said, they don't get to pick
- 51:29Speaker 1: and they don't get to set up the succession plan.
- 51:31Speaker 1: I mean, but I do think that probably the plan
- 51:33Speaker 1: and the thought and the idea was that let's hit
- 51:36Speaker 1: the reset button with Maddy, p and Mac and make
- 51:39Speaker 1: and tie them together and they'll grow together over these
- 51:41Speaker 1: next few years. And you know, I just I wonder
- 51:44Speaker 1: how much they anticipated it was going to go as
- 51:46Speaker 1: badly as it did, like, you know, like, oh, well,
- 51:49Speaker 1: we'll overcome it. There'll be some growing pains early in
- 51:52Speaker 1: the season, but we'll start to find our stride and
- 51:54Speaker 1: you know, and maybe they will find a little stride here.
- 51:56Speaker 1: But I don't know if it's going to make enough
- 51:57Speaker 1: of a difference, certainly in the fans minds of can
- 52:01Speaker 1: we run it back like that? Spee again says, has
- 52:03Speaker 1: it occurred to any of you that Evan is kind
- 52:05Speaker 1: of like Eric but with math? Yes? Well, yeah, the
- 52:12Speaker 1: difference is Evan likes football. I was gonna say, with
- 52:15Speaker 1: football knowledge, Yeah right, yeah, No, I mean Evan can't
- 52:18Speaker 1: get enough of it. I mean he is just Yeah,
- 52:21Speaker 1: I can make fun of hold on Eric like everything
- 52:25Speaker 1: but football, right, I can make fun of Evan for days,
- 52:28Speaker 1: but so vastly different, probably too much. Evan had a girlfriend.
- 52:34Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot, there's a lot of friend
- 52:39Speaker 1: he's got to find that. That's why, you know, that's
- 52:42Speaker 1: why he calls himself a bully, because he sees the weakness.
- 52:45Speaker 1: He'll find it. He'll find it. He's looking for I'm
- 52:48Speaker 1: not no, I'm not like you got a girlfriend? Okay,
- 52:51Speaker 1: cross that one off. What are you wearing? That's okay? Sorry?
- 52:55Speaker 1: I get a feeling he's playing above the rim. What
- 52:57Speaker 1: do you think, hey, most of us he has he
- 53:00Speaker 1: has a girlfriend. That's true. He's above the right. Brendan
- 53:04Speaker 1: and Edmonton. Do you think Robert Kraft questions Belichick for
- 53:07Speaker 1: the last lack of success in the last three to
- 53:10Speaker 1: four years or do you think he can see what
- 53:12Speaker 1: we all see the loss of James Devlin. That's franchise
- 53:15Speaker 1: back decade. Thank you so, I guess. Peter King had
- 53:22Speaker 1: some more interesting comments that he was at the game.
- 53:26Speaker 1: By the way, he was at the Arizona game. Yeah, okay,
- 53:29Speaker 1: that lends more credence to his comments. Then he said
- 53:32Speaker 1: that he felt like the Crafts feel like this team
- 53:35Speaker 1: should be more successful than it has been. This team
- 53:38Speaker 1: yeah twenty two version. Yeah, do you agree? Do you
- 53:42Speaker 1: think it should be more successful? I think the offense
- 53:45Speaker 1: should be better than this yeah. Yeah, I think the
- 53:48Speaker 1: record is about what I expected. Yeah, which is like,
- 53:51Speaker 1: That's what I can't get past. Is like I could maybe,
- 53:53Speaker 1: like I said yesterday, I could maybe say I think
- 53:55Speaker 1: they should have won the Green Bay game. I don't
- 53:56Speaker 1: really think they should have won the Bears game, just
- 53:57Speaker 1: because I think that's the one game year where you
- 54:00Speaker 1: didn't really have that that team team to play. That
- 54:02Speaker 1: game is going to happen almost every year, but the
- 54:03Speaker 1: Green Bay game, it felt like they're a bad team
- 54:05Speaker 1: you probably could have had. But otherwise it's not like
- 54:07Speaker 1: I can sit here and tell you that this team
- 54:09Speaker 1: should have beat Buffalo or you know, like they're kind
- 54:11Speaker 1: of the same team. So I just I can't get it.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I can't get by that. I think it's I think
- 54:16Speaker 1: the record is what Mike says, but I think that
- 54:19Speaker 1: they should they should look better than they have. Yeah,
- 54:22Speaker 1: Adam and Lowell, Indiana. Two things. One, I have us
- 54:25Speaker 1: winning thirty one nineteen wow. And two any idea if
- 54:30Speaker 1: we play on Saturday or Sunday Week eighteen. I have
- 54:32Speaker 1: a vacation plan that week, and I need to know
- 54:35Speaker 1: if I need to cut it short. Yeah, I don't
- 54:37Speaker 1: think you'll know that we won't the week of, Would
- 54:41Speaker 1: it be the week of or the week before? The
- 54:43Speaker 1: week before? They well, once the week seventeen results are
- 54:47Speaker 1: in and they know the situation, that's when I think
- 54:49Speaker 1: that they schedule because that's how they determine the last game,
- 54:52Speaker 1: like the night game. Yeah, it's usually a winner, go
- 54:56Speaker 1: home game. It's gonna be like two teams losing records playing.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I'd be like if two NFC Cell teams play in
- 55:05Speaker 1: Week eighteen, Carolina versus Tampa Bay winners, beautiful. You know,
- 55:11Speaker 1: I don't even know if they PlayN and t Um
- 55:16Speaker 1: Bob in Wilmington, North Carolina. He says, I'm telling you
- 55:20Speaker 1: Bill has him right where he wants him. He gets
- 55:22Speaker 1: to play the underdog the next four games. Regardless of
- 55:25Speaker 1: winning the next three, who'll be telling everyone about how
- 55:28Speaker 1: nobody thinks they can win, nobody thinks they're good, nobody
- 55:31Speaker 1: wants to see them back in the playoffs. Well, guess what.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Barmore is back this week, and with Judan and Uche
- 55:37Speaker 1: firing on the outside, the opposing quarterbacks are in big trouble.
- 55:42Speaker 1: The offensive joke from the rookies will inspire everyone. When
- 55:45Speaker 1: the Patriots may not lose another game this year. Nobody
- 55:48Speaker 1: motivates better than Bill, and the talent on this team
- 55:51Speaker 1: is up to the task, no matter how hard Paul
- 55:54Speaker 1: tries to talk them down. Patriots beat Vegas twenty nine,
- 55:57Speaker 1: seventeen seventeen. I mean, I think I agree with the
- 56:02Speaker 1: point that if they're gonna have a strong finish, it's
- 56:04Speaker 1: probably gonna be led by the defensive front and bar
- 56:07Speaker 1: Moore if he if he comes back, and if he's
- 56:09Speaker 1: effective ouch maintaining his level of play wise looking more
- 56:13Speaker 1: like he was at the beginning of season, and Jude
- 56:14Speaker 1: On being Judeon, you know, I mean, you can see
- 56:18Speaker 1: it happening if if they're able to dominate against you know,
- 56:20Speaker 1: I don't think that there's any other option really, I
- 56:22Speaker 1: mean against Joe Burrow. If you give him all the
- 56:25Speaker 1: time in the world, he's gonna kill you. I mean,
- 56:27Speaker 1: if they don't have an answer for two of finally,
- 56:29Speaker 1: you know, and the weather doesn't help them out, it's
- 56:32Speaker 1: tough to see if you're not getting after him, and
- 56:34Speaker 1: we know it's just want to know where the points
- 56:35Speaker 1: come from thirty one, nineteen, twenty nine seventeen. I just
- 56:39Speaker 1: want to know where the points are coming from. That's
- 56:41Speaker 1: why they're gonna keep scoring defensive touchdowns every week. If
- 56:44Speaker 1: they do, Bill win, You're totally right. I can't even
- 56:46Speaker 1: get to the offense. I'm like, just it's a non
- 56:47Speaker 1: starter if the defense doesn't play well, because then you're
- 56:49Speaker 1: never getting there. But I just I have to start there.
- 56:51Speaker 1: And if those guys play crazy and are forcing you know,
- 56:54Speaker 1: takeaways and you know, keeping the quarterbacks under wraps, then
- 56:57Speaker 1: you know, then it's a start, and maybe the door
- 56:59Speaker 1: will stay open enough offensively to put up enough points
- 57:02Speaker 1: to win. And then you have to protect Mac against
- 57:05Speaker 1: Max Crosmy get me? So this is this is since
- 57:08Speaker 1: late October fourteen, twenty two, twenty six, ten, twenty six, ten,
- 57:12Speaker 1: twenty seven. That counts all the defensive scores, which there
- 57:15Speaker 1: have been many. Yeah, that counts all the defensive points
- 57:20Speaker 1: that they've scored. Um. I was in Arizona last week
- 57:23Speaker 1: and I met up with some of our biggest fans
- 57:26Speaker 1: while I was there, and one of them was by
- 57:29Speaker 1: Apparel Chester and he's on the phone right now. What's
- 57:32Speaker 1: up Chester? Okay, what's going on? Guy? How you doing
- 57:36Speaker 1: back in a long time? No here on this show?
- 57:38Speaker 1: Where you been a new job Monday through Friday, and
- 57:42Speaker 1: I have met we have meetings like right from ten
- 57:45Speaker 1: to twelve on my time zone. Coach just screws the
- 57:47Speaker 1: whole thing. I couldn't you get an email or give
- 57:51Speaker 1: me a number. I'll talk to your boss. Will these meetings, Yes,
- 57:55Speaker 1: he'll be he needs to tell you what you know,
- 57:57Speaker 1: he'll be experienced with ogal weekend or definitely some incentive
- 58:00Speaker 1: to start ramping up the calls again. It was a
- 58:03Speaker 1: hell of a weekend. And tell your fascination really turned
- 58:06Speaker 1: out for this one in Arizona, not that they don't normally,
- 58:09Speaker 1: but I'd say probably sixty forty maybe fifty fifty in
- 58:13Speaker 1: the fan ratio and the stadium, and it was an
- 58:16Speaker 1: electric feeling. You know. I had the old Grogan throwback
- 58:20Speaker 1: and the neck role going for this one, and uh
- 58:22Speaker 1: a good thing. As many times I was looking to
- 58:24Speaker 1: the sky, I think you made it to TV, didn't you?
- 58:27Speaker 1: Did you get on TV? What did you get on
- 58:29Speaker 1: the broadcast? Yeah? And me and the boys got on
- 58:32Speaker 1: the little TV right after that Judoon Stack and UH
- 58:36Speaker 1: got a chance to get a Dietrich wise a little
- 58:38Speaker 1: high five at the end there. Pretty awesome, but you know,
- 58:42Speaker 1: I'll tell you just a couple points here just to
- 58:45Speaker 1: make about you know, just hearing what I was just
- 58:47Speaker 1: hearing a while on hold. The biggest reason why to
- 58:50Speaker 1: me that this team is regressing from last year. Obviously,
- 58:53Speaker 1: losing Josh is a big one, but the state of
- 58:55Speaker 1: the offensive line is just brutal. And I feel like
- 58:58Speaker 1: kind of both sides of the ball, the breakdowns and
- 59:01Speaker 1: the trenches just seem to be domino effect week after
- 59:04Speaker 1: week after week. And I feel like the defensive line
- 59:07Speaker 1: wasn't that much better to last year, but it was better.
- 59:09Speaker 1: It was a little more solid, and uh, I don't know,
- 59:11Speaker 1: every time I watched these games, it's the breakdowns up
- 59:13Speaker 1: front seemed to just just be plaguing us everywhere else,
- 59:17Speaker 1: you know, aside from the downside and talent um. You
- 59:21Speaker 1: know that said, you know, I know there's a lot
- 59:22Speaker 1: of doom and gloom fans out there, but there's a
- 59:24Speaker 1: lot of us. I still believe that there's a you know,
- 59:26Speaker 1: the viable nucleus keep growing, and you know, you just
- 59:30Speaker 1: gotta hope for steady progress. I feel like the Raiders
- 59:32Speaker 1: are a good matchup for us this week. We can
- 59:34Speaker 1: stop the rhyme so all right, good one more, see
- 59:36Speaker 1: what happens with Cincinnati. All right, Chester, but that's all
- 59:40Speaker 1: the great Sea and your Fred Okay, Karen, get to
- 59:42Speaker 1: that pro shop and buy apparel by Apparel. Yeah. Ester
- 59:45Speaker 1: doesn't have his heart in it. I worry about him. Yeah,
- 59:48Speaker 1: he used to really come. He used to rally the
- 59:49Speaker 1: troops and get the buy apparel. Was very very specific. Yeah,
- 59:58Speaker 1: don't plus them. I'm with Chester. So I also with
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: with with Chester. He was one of the guys. And
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I told you that I had that snarky tweet after
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: the Rams beat the Raiders last week. I couldn't believe
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: you said that, and I said, you know, down sixteen
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: to three, two touchdowns in the last last three minutes.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I always thought there was a lot of similarities between
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Brady and Baker, you know. In the vast majority of
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: people that interacted about it, literally no, no, they understood
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: that I was being snarky. Chester of all people, says,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: you are right, guy, like I was being serious. Yeah,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: that's just poor to me. You know. He brings up
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: the offensive line though, and I think, um, you know,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: not to not to get Paul too much credit here,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: but I mean, you know, it is just something you
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: were on in the offseas, this is what they chose.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: I mean, a lot of teams lose their right tackle
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and it doesn't all of a sudden look napped like
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: this is four fifth so what they wanted. So, you know,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I like, it's a bigger problem to me of talking
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: about the team building aspect of the position not And
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I listened to it every week. I listened to these experts,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you know, that know a lot more about football than
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I do, and they're talking about one of the biggest
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: deficiencies in the league is offensive lineman. And it's not
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: just former offensive lineman. It's not just John Hannah saying it.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: It's a lot of these guys talking about how bad
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: the offensive line play is. So a lot of other
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: offenses are getting by right now. Philadelphia has arguably the
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: best offensive line in footballs, you know, so that's a
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: different story. But there are other teams that are finding
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: ways to move the ball with suspect offensive line play.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I don't think it's just that it's a problem I have.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: I have eyes. Mac Jones has been under more pressure
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: this year than he was last year. I mean, I
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: can see that, but I just don't think it tells
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: the whole story. Yeah, Jason new Englander in Clearwater, Florida.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: With the defensive line playing so well in recent weeks,
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: what sort of impact would you reasonably expect Christian Barmore
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: to have once he returns? And do you think he
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: will this week? I do think he will return this week.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I think he'll be in that role that he was in.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Hopefully the knee is good and he can use that
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: sub rusher role, that leverage, you know, because you got
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: a lot of weight there and he's he's a strong guy.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: He needs strong knees to you know, get that leverage. Love,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: love us strong finish from him. I mean I think they.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: I think they really need it. And he talk about
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: somebody who can spark the defensive line to another level.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I think he, you know, he could be it. I mean,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: I just hope he comes back fresh and raring to
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: go and not like we think he can kind of
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: fight through it at this point, Like, you know, I
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: want him to come back and be what we hoped
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: he was fine. I hope this is just kind of
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: a procedure thing that he's on the injury report, because
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: I feel like that I kind of thought they were
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: being safe by putting him on IR, just saying like, Okay,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: he's been trying to play, it's bugging him. Let's just
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: give him full four games off and then he'll come
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: back and he'll be fine. But but if Ramf and
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Waller aren't on, then listed has limited to me. No,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: But but that's the way they would do it. Oh
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: you mean there, that's that's very consistent with the way
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: they would do it. I hope that he is fine
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: and just he's coming off IR, so we're gonna list him. Um.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: And also he wants to know what's the status of
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Marcus Cannon. He's on I R still I think he's yeah,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I mean it's concussion. He could come back at any point.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I mean, he's eligible. But him and I mean she's
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Brian Hoyer. I mean, I haven't seen Brian talked about
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: a guy getting a concussion. Just a community event you
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: did two weeks ago. Okay, so he's out and about,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: but I mean he must be. He's out, he's having
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: a long conversation. He's clearly still with it. So that's good.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Concussions are tough. Andrew says, did you see the report?
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: What was the lighting like in the room that you
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: were talking. It was a vast pro shop, so it's
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: kind of dark. I can't lie. It was pretty dark
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: and it was the evening. Yeah, sorry about this. Did
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: you see the report that Godwin Evans, Brady Hopkins, and
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Larry Fitzgerald had been spotted at the Hurts counter at Logan? Yes,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: back with Belichick because Belichick was talking to I love
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: seeing that meme going around with Brady, just because I've
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: gotten got by that meme. Just I've gotten got I
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: got got back in the day. I got it the
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: trash Which one of the great Which one did you
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: get got by? Larry Fitzgerald? One the Larry the quote
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: like the famous Larry Fitzgerald at the Hurts counter at
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Logan Airport. You've gotten got by that like originally like
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: years ago. That is back. I think that is one
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: of the funniest ones. That is continue to just stands
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: the test of times. It takes me every time. I
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: think it's our guy Boston Cream. Oh he's he's the
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: one that started that. I don't know if he started it,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: but he hats off because that's right, that one has
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: been that's ten years. I feel. I like when people
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: use that meme and they say, you know, like Travis Kelsey. Yes,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: that's how I got got by it. Fred Is. I
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: was like, what are you talking about? The player you're
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: talking about is bald. This man isn't buy someone was
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: followers Now, oh I thought it was a bald shot.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: I did. Okay, I did. Did you order food? No,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: you didn't get garlic bread. I don't know if it
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: was coming. Speaking of food, I wanted to. I want
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: to thank VIP Strippers for Yeah, I didn't mention that
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: he bought lunch yesterday. Yeah, yeah, that was really nice.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Thank you so for all your very important stripping needs. Yes,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: the strippers. VIP Strippers will handle all of those, you know,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: whether it's a corporate event or private at home birthdays.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Bar mitzvahs. I had a bacherette in charleson h Now
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: a man sit over there and say hello on the
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: big stage. Dude can make it rain my room. Uh,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: let's see. Melvin wants to know. Is the Patriots record
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: where you thought it would be at this point in
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: the season. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I thought
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: it was going to be eight and nine. It could
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: be nine and eight now, but I thought it was,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: you know, so it's about where we thought it was.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: It never transpires the way you thought, but at the
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: end of the day, it all levels pretty close. Though.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I think you would probably like no one thought they
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: would lose to the Bears, um, and then you just
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: kind of just pick another game that they want, you know.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I think that might be the difference, like with nine
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: and eight, eight and nine, that kind of stuff. I
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: think it's going to end up being right around the
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: way a lot of people felt. It doesn't feel like
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: they've gotten one. They weren't supposed to yet though, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: which is which would be nice here. Maybe it's coming up,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I think they I mean, when was the last time
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: they got one they weren't supposed to? You mean against
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: the team that you felt that was quote unquote better
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: than them. Yeah, last year Buffalotimore, Buffalo's game last year
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: in the in the wind, Yeah, that was a game
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: that you felt the team. That's the thing is that
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the closest they got is when they almost beat Tom
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: in the Bucks. Yeah. Yeah, they didn't win well Dallas, Yeah,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: you know the actually one no, you have to go
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: yeah twenty it's Cam Newton, It's it's com Newton Um
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Baltimore in the pouring rain here. Yeah, that's but again
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: there's a qualifier, and I know I can't do anything
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: about the qualifiers, but you know we had to play
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: in the rain too. Was it the RAM super Bowl?
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Was it the RAM super Bowl? And they're a running team?
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Um to Fred and Paul, this is from Rick and
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: haverl Um, what is your favorite Bill Parcel's story when
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: he was in New England. I'll leave this to you, Fred,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: because I don't have any Bill Parcels stories. You don't know.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I wasn't he has one here, I have. I have
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: a lot of them. I mean, yeah, if you've got
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: a lot of little quips onselves quips, yeah, a lot
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: of his sayings. But well, you know, like one of
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: my favorites is we I had. I was told I
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: had to hire Drew Bledsoe's best friend for a season,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: so I did. He was this little guy. He looked
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: like Radar O'Reilly from mash you know, and um, he
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: was convinced that he was going to become friends with Parcels,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: like he was gonna like that's lofty goal, right, So
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: back then you could at a different time, Yeah, back
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: then you could ride any bus you wanted on the
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: away trips. You didn't weren't relegated to the last Yeah,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: so we're you know, like I was. No, I was
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: on his bus a lot. But this kid um what
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: was his name, Spike Spike. Spike says meals right, I'm
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: gonna go sit with Parcels. I'm like, no, don't do that.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: He was no watch. So Parcels Alwa was sat in
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: the front right seat. So, uh, Spike gets up and
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: sits there before Parcels gets on the bus. So Parcels
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: gets on and he looks and he goes, huh goes
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: goes get out. So instead of getting out, he moves
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: over one seat and Parcels like Spike, get out, f
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: out and he goes back and go. That worked out
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: pretty well, huh Like yeah, best friends forever. Yeah, that
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: that was funny and was at the end of his pursuits. Yeah,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: that was that was That was pretty much it. That
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: was pretty much. It helped Fred out. Yeah, there was
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: another time when I when he when I first got there,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: like you know, you do the production meeting and at
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: the time, NBC was the AFC network now with CBS,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: but it was NBC, so they would always have the
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: production meetings with them, and and uh, I asked our
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: PR guy at the time, Don Lowry, said, can you
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: ask Bill if I can sit in on the production meetings,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: you know, like with NBC. You know, I'll ask. So
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: he comes back, I said, did you ask? He goes, yeah,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: he said, tell Fred he's not NBC, you know. But
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: at least though, it feels like you can just be
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: upfront and he's gonna just say no, yeah, you just
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: say okay, And then that's when you could ask that
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: same question now and I'll let you know when you
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: get an answer. When I first got there, they said,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: you know, we're when to have you meet the coach,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: you know, tell him what you're gonna be doing. So uh,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: they said, you know, be down at the stadium. Because
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: back then I worked in Boston, there weren't there wasn't
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: room in Fox Sports. So be at the stadium at
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: ten o'clock. He's going to meet with you. I get
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: there nine o'clock. He made me wait until like three
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: in the afternoon. So finally, all right, he's ready for you.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: So I go down there and he's like leaning against
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: his door and he's like, you're the guy. I'm like yeah,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: because all right, come in so so. So I go
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: into his office sitting across from him. He's got the
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: little elephant statues you know that he was famous for.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: And uh, I start telling him, you know what I'm
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: gonna do. I'm gonna start this newspaper. He's like, I've
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: seen these newspapers that blah blah blah. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Wait a minute, I go, this is gonna be a
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: legit newspaper. It's you know, people are gonna have to
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: pay for it. We're not just gonna give it away,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: you know, to people. And so he was like okay,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: and then you know, he's like, so where are you from?
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: And the story he thought I was Jonathan Craft's boyhood friend,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: that's why they're high. I go, well, I used to
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: live in New Jersey. Oh really, because where I go, Manala,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: because I know where that is. So then all of
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: a sudden everything was okay. Yeah, you know, we had
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: a good conversation. He connected as human being. Yeah, because
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you know New Jersey. Yeah, you know a little bit
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: of Jersey boys. Yeah, what was the elephants thing? I
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: don't he has, he collects elephant statues, but the trunks
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: have to be in the upright position. If not, it's
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: bad luck. Okay, So all of his elephant statues, their trunks,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: do they have to face the north? No, No, that's interesting. Yeah,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: my old, my old buss Eric he had a bunch
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: of elephants too. And now I'm wondering if, yeah, if
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: it was the same kind of thing, if if I
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised if all the trunks are you don't
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: know this sort of stuff, you know. That's why I
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: was going to ask, is does Parcel's practice Hinduism or Buddhism?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Not just just a good luck thing? I think? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: trunks are always up though. Yeah. But yeah, Parcels was
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: you know, he was He was a character. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: you know. He he was no different than Bill in
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: terms of giving information. He was just he just did
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: it better. Yeah, he did a bit. He was entertaining
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: when he did it, you know, And every once in
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: a while he'd insult somebody and he'd snapped. Then privately
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: he'd apologized to them. You know, but I never got it.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: I wasn't here when I didn't get a chance that's
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: a dumb ass question. You give me a break with
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: that crap. You don't know what you're talking about. You're
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: a jerker. Yeah, I didn't get a chance. Like the
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: day to day stuff that Fred's talking about. I never
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: you know, when Pete Carroll was the coach when I started.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: It was this last year. Yeah, talk about different. Oh God,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Pete was just he was tough, though in his own way.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Like it was. It was a lot of like babbling
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: incoherence with with Pete. Yeah, you'd go back and listen
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: to your recording. You were like, what did he say? Yeah,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: he kind of like mumbled to himself. But he was
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: highly competitive, Like he like his practices, like he set
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: up competition. He wanted guys to compete in practice, and
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: you know, he was a competitive guy. Pete, he still is.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: I mean, he's right, but he was completely different. You know.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: He was, you know, the owner's coach and all that stuff,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: whereas Parcels was like, I don't know if I'm going
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: to be here next year, you know, I mean, do
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: you think that that style you know, the owners were
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: conscious of getting away from that style and getting back
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: to a more disciplinarian Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it was
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: a tough guy. Players coach, tough guy. I mean it's
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: always the Crafts. The Crafts really like Belichick right away
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: at ninety six when he came. But they felt that
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: they just could They had to separate themselves from the
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: parcel's tree connections to make right to this. They had
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: to just make a clean break. Yeah, but they like
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: they like Belichick, So that's one. Yeah, you want to
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: do the whole You know what if if they had
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: hired Belichick and Belichick was able to maintain that staff, Yeah,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: they may have won a couple before the dynasty began. Absolutely,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: they got a quarterback. Absolutely see that that's one of
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: those when he's a bully. He's a bully and he
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: knows there are things that will trigger me. He gave him,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: gave me the all right, back to the email. It's
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: just looking for that food. Well I didn't if he
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: needs a break, I just want to know when the
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: brakes happening. Yeah, pizza time, Oh how long ago. It's
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: like it's like a nice yas So there's something going
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: on out there. It was freezing rain when I went
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: out to my car to get my lunch. Maybe zombies
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: have taken over Foxborough. You know, you never know because
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: we're down here. We have no windows. We don't know
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: what's going on out there. You'll be safe in here,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: you guys for now. Yeah, a little wait till we
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: run out of DIAPEPSI, Matt and I are down here,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: you guys. You guys are upstairs, you guys with the
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: pretty people. If there were zombies out there, Paul, would
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: you risk it and go to d'angelo's for us? If
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: what if there were zombies out there? Not for Deangelos now,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: but I'd go to the making the d'angelos if the
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: zombies A yeah, I'd go to the North End Delhi FORO. Yeah,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: that's worth it. That's worth a risk, all right, They
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: keep going Jason and Barcelona. A few weeks ago, Max
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Crosby had ten of the Raiders League low thirteen sacks,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: which was incredible ratio. Their pass rush has picked up
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: a bit more recently, and he now has eleven and
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: a half of their twenty five. I've watched three or
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: four Raider games this season, and he's been very impressive.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: With a NonStop motor, he could seriously wreck what is
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: a horrible Patriots offense, not to mention the shaky tackle
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: and offensive line play in particular. I'll be interested to
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: see how or even if the Patriots can slow him.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: Have you seen much of him in action this season?
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: I saw the same thing. He's excellent him. Yeah, how
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: do you miss him? That's my biggest worry for this
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: week is him? Yeah, Connor McDermot, you know yea. So
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: here's what I would would ask from Afar though, is
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: they've had a really hard time closing out games and
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: he has been exceptionally good. Happened? Why is Nils up?
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: They have these big leads the other team's got to
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: throw to get back in it. Why is he not
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: coming up with a play when he needs it? Good questions?
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: He coming up with plastic sacks? I wonder. I wonder
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: if it's like Chewton though, where they're giving him attention
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: and Chandler Jones wasn't producing. So if you're if you're
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: if you're neutralizing him with a couple of blockers, and
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: then you know what I'm saying, the end of a game,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: you don't really have that luxury. If you're spreading, you
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: just have five guys and everybody's got you know, what
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I mean, like, if you're down seventeen in the fourth
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: quarter and you're throwing it all over the place, you're
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: not devoting extra blockers to to Max cross before. Also,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: do you think the main reason for the wasted timeouts
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: and other game management issues is due to Belichick paying
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: more attention to what's going on with play calling and
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Mattie p and not focusing enough on the overall game. Also,
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: he's probably lacking any game time input as good as
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Ernie was. And I think that's an interesting issue that
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: doesn't really you know, but but like the plays not
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: going in on time is because Bill's paying too much
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: attention to the plays, Yeah, the whole overall game. That
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: doesn't make sense that he's paying too much of time
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: to Mattie Peter. Don't know how you can pull one
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: issue as to why they're doing it. They're just they're
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: not executing well. They have an inexperienced play caller who's
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: probably you know, a second or two slow. Yeah, Like,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I don't think that that's like this massive and DiPT
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: of matt Patrician, right, and he's never done it and
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: they asked him about it, you know, when he did
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: his avail earlier this week, and you know, he said,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: you know, sometimes you're hoping for a look that you
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: don't quite get and then you know those and he's
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: not as prepared. You know, Oh, let's quick tactic. Wow,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: we didn't get it. So we'll just fall back to
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: why do you do something? And more it becomes second nature, right,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: It certainly isn't second nature for him yet. Yeah, you know,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: and that's why I'm not going to make the argument
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: of Matt Patricia deserves year two. But I bet you
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Bill will. I mean, I bet you that you know that.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: I mean, there is a learning curve to all this,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: and you know, and there's a certain bar of what's
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: acceptable and what's not. And there's some promise maybe that
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: you feel like, all right, there are elements there that
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: we can build off of. I haven't seen those elements yet,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: but I think that they're you know, if they do
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: run it back with him in this position, that will
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: be that'll be what they say, you know, his first
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: year doing this, we feel like, well, you know, take
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: the offensive line off of his plate, allow him to
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: have a full off season with mac. Sorry making my
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: six myself sick as I'm saying this. But if you
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: had to say, and we have four weeks of games
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: before we get into all this, but if you had
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: to say, if it was up to Bill solely Bill
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: and no one, no one said a word to him,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: do you think it would change? I don't do Nope.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: So I don't think what you're saying is like just
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: this silly talk. I think if I think if there's
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: a different offense recorded in the next year, it's gonna
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: be because there was an organizational discussion and Bill was
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: on board with it. Yeah, yeah, it's got to be
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: even without a discussion. He's got to make some adjustments. Well,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: that's just like he gotta. And I think one of
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: the people that wrote in like is he is he
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: seeing what it is of how bad it is? Of
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: course he is. So I mean I have to imagine
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: he's as frustrated as we are. You know, that they
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: that they can't get it yet, that the offense that
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: they have to like win in spite of their offense
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: still here in week fourteen or whatever. It is, all right,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Paul's foods here, So we'll take a break when we
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: come back. More calls and emails, mostly emails, and then

- 1:29:45Speaker 1: Is it a great day? I don't think imagine Evan

- 1:29:51Speaker 1: Does it? Watch film? Who doesn't get dragged around by
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: great danes? Yeah? The problem with great days is they

- 1:30:12Speaker 1: danes are like like like a like like a greyhound

- 1:30:18Speaker 1: built to run, cuddly nice. Jalen Mills has two Great
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: Danes that look like they will rip your face off,

- 1:31:32Speaker 1: there's a Patriots road trip rally at Rhythm In Riffs

- 1:32:09Speaker 1: Yeah you know what, Wait a minute, if you must know,
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: he reached out and wanted to know what I thought
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: of those people that were doing the show, because you
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: didn't want to just get snob just skidding. I think
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: I'm not sure if this is a Patriots event. They've
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: got a bud light and Patriot's logo on the top here.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: Oh but I would I would turn that one in there.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: Maybe we're putting uh maybe we're putting that one on.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: I don't know, but anyway, that's something the frettiest thing ever.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: It's actually our events. Yeah, it's something to do for
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: people that are out there. Meet your people. Yeah, friends.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: All right, hold on, let me get my games up here.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: It's that time of the week, Matt, he's ending the show.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: All right, Paul, what happened last week? I got a
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: feeling I want this is the week. Took fourteen weeks,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: but this is the week that Freddy has been waiting for.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Freddy nine and four yea, followed by Mike, Evan and
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Paul at eight and five. Cut to week. Okay, guy,
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: I was terrible with the spread. Fred ten and three.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Here we go back baby, Mike and Evan five and eight,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: and I told you this was coming. Paul four and nine.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: W this is this is the beginning of the end. Yeah,
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: you're here like the Patriots, you fall apart, coming to
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: this drop coming back. So uh. Season standings. I remained
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: on top at one twenty nine, seventy seven and two,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: Mike one twenty eight, seventy eight and two, Fred one
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: twenty one, eighty five and two. Evan is ninety one
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: fifty two and one. Alex, you haven't participated in quite
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: a long time, but you're three and forty two with
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: the spread. Paul continues to dominate, even though we went
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: four and nine one, twenty eighty five and three. You like,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: how like break into third person? I know you do
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: it a lot, uh, Mike one oho three, one oh
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: two and one, Fred ninety two one thirteen in three,
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: I'm sorry in three, not one, three, three times ninety two,
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: one thirteen and three. Evan is seventy one, seventy and three,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Alex is fifty four, I'm sorry forty nine and fifty
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: five in one. Okay, all right, Evan maintains his lead
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: with winning percentage, and I am blowing everyone away winning percentage, right,
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: but I'm closing the gap. I mean that that crap
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: ain't even close. All right, let's get right into it tonight,
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: eight fifteen on Prime Video the nine and four forty
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: nine ers and is Purty quarterbacking, I'm not sure, questionable
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: questionable against the seven and six Seahawks, uh San Francisco
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: by three and a half. That's a tough one. Yeah,
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: a battle. Seettle was kind of the darlings early on.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: They've they've kind of come back to earth a little bit.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: Um tough, especially with the issues at quarterback for San Francisco. Man,
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: I'm just gonna go with Seattle at home as home
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: dogs up there in Seattle. I know it's a tough
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: place to play, So I'm gonna take Seattle. I took
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: Seattle both ways, similar reasons. I think the quarterback play
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: last week. I don't think they're gonna sustain that this week.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: I don't know. Tough to tell. It feels like that
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: was a really high of highs and now they're just
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: gonna come back down to reality. Yeah. I am going
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: to operate under the premise that Purdy is gonna play,
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: and if he does, I will take San Francisco both ways. Wow,
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: mister irrelevant makes the difference. Um, I'm gonna take San Francisco.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: I can't have the same faith in Josh Johnson. I'm
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: gonna take San Francisco. I'm gonna take the points though
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: division game, the hook, Yeah you got so. I'll take
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: the hook. But San Francisco's defense, you know they're gonna
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: get to Gina del Rio. All right, we have a
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: slight of Saturday games. Super said this week, Um, starting
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: one o'clock. These are all NFL network games unless they're
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: in your area. I think, right, is it the same rule?
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: But these are all on NFL network. I don't need
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: to do the fa COACTA no streaming, that's correct. These
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: are all on NFL network one o'clock, four, eight and one.
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: Colts are at the ten and three Vikings Minnesota by four.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: You would think by more, but no, Um, yeah, I
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: think Sharps know something. Sharps do know something. I'm gonna take.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Minnesota. Did you get three so they're
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: only favorite by one? Yeah, I'll take Minnesota all other points.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I took Vikings both ways. I will take Minnesota to
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: bounce back from last week's debacle. Um, both ways. Are
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: you curious though about this spread? Why it's only four
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Minnesota at home by in Minnesota? Yeah? I think people
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: have had questions. I know about the Jeff Saturday cults.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: That's why they're underdogs by four points. I would think
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: it'd be more, That's all I'm saying. I mean, with
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: the records, I think could be more. But I don't
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: think the teams are all that different. Okay, I really
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: don't all Right, one team has a much better record
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: in my turn. Yeah, Vikings both ways. Four thirty on
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: NFL That work. The nine and four Ravens are at
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: the five and eight Browns. Cleveland buy three three and
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: lamar out out no more. Uh, I gonna go. I
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: feel gross. I'm gonna pick. I'm gonna pick Watson and
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: the Browns. Why do you feel gross? He's just a guy,
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: just a feeling. Yeah, I'm like, I don't like picking
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: that got to win games. But yeah, all right, yeah
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: Cleveland both ways reluctantly. Yeah, I'm gonna take Cleveland both
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: ways too. I don't think Tyler Huntley is um. I
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: know he's practicing, but I think he's one sack away
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: from being out of the game. I could see the
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: two situation with this. He got lit up and had
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: a concussion and suddenly he's two days later, he's fine.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: I got Cleveland in this one. Yeah, happy endie for Cleveland. Jesus.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: Eight fifteen on the NFL Network. The eight and five
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: Dolphins are at the ten and three Bills. Big game,
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: Baby Buffalo by seven? Come on, Bills, right, we're rooting
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: for the Bills in this game? Yeah, I think we are.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: And they're on a little AFC East revenge tour. Knocked
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: the Jets off, knocked the Patriots off. I think they're
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: gonna knock the Miami Dolphins off as well. I'm gonna
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: take Buffalo, and I think they're gonna win by by
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: more than a touchdown. I'm gonna lay the points. I
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: took Buffalo, but I gave Miami the points. Oh I
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: wrote that wrong. Sorry, what did you say? The number
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: was seven? Seven? No? Hey, huh no. Um, I'm gonna
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: take Buffalo both ways. Yeah. I mean some people might
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: fade this game, but I'm gonna I'm gonna go with
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: the Bills both ways as well. I think Dolphins are yeah,
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: a little bit, a little bit all right. Um, now
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: we move over to Sunday. So we got the three
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: Saturday game. Nice, Havn't you know how long is it
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: before the players band together and say no more Thursday games?
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: You know, this is not a type of sport where
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: you can play a game on Sunday and then play
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: on Thursday. I mean, who, who other than the league
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: really wants it? I mean I don't really see the
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: fans clamoring for it. Like I say that because I'll
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: take Saturday, you know, as a trade off. Especially as
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: a non college football fan. I'm happy to watch, can
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: care less about see you know. One o'clock, the five
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: and eight Falcons are at the four and nine Saints.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Um yeah, because it went way down the list, hetlant
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: at New Orleans, New Orleans by four. Also, my son's
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: car is finally ready. I got good news, um man.
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: Two teams not really going anywhere. U Hi, I'm gonna
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: I'm just gonna go New Orleans at home. I don't
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: really know why, but these teams are done. I'm gonna
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: go Atlanta both ways upset why not. I am gonna
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: play it down the middle. I'll take the Saints to win,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: but I will take the Desmond Riders to cover. Yeah,
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: that's the way to go here, Uma, Sat Saints can
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: be tough at home, especially against their you know, Conference
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: A Division opponents, so you got to give them a
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: little there. But the Falcons I think are a better team.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: But I don't know, I don't know. It's it's they're both.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: It's such a weird division this year. One o'clock, the
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: five and eight Steelers are at the five and eight Panthers.
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: Panthers buy three showing a little juice here. I'm at
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: the point in the season though it's tough to tell,
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: like who's left playing right? Who's playing for? What? You know?
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Like that's why I was four night left spreading. I
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: can't control effort, right, you know what I'm saying. I
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: can't control effort. Tough, tough? Um, Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Pittsburgh on this one. Why not
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: under an underdog on the road. I don't think Caroline
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: is actually that good, but they're playing well. But I'm
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: gonna take Pittsburgh. I went to Pittsburgh as well, both ways.
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: I am gonna take Pittsburgh too. I've heard. I've heard
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: a lot of Carolina is coming on Steve Wilks, so
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: you could get the job. Like when that starts happening
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: to bad teams and they start getting some attention to
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: steal Fred's frad I fade that team, So I will
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: take Pittsburgh. It got my attention. I'm going with Carolina.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: So the chief stands alone. I guess on this one. Huh,
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: big Donold fan. Sunday at one, the twelve and one
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: Eagles are at the three and ten Bears, Philly by
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: noin noine on the road. I saw I saw like
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: an interesting stat that like Philly has lost like no
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: one to injury this year, Like I mean man games
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: lost or whatever that stat is, like they have just
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: had a great run of injury luck. I mean, it's
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: it's so huge in this league. I'm gonna take Philly
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: and I'm gonna lay those nine points. They seem like
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: they're rolling Philly, Philly, I'm gonna take Uh. Do you
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: have any information on Justin Fields there? I think I
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: saw he practiced. Let's see see if I can. I'm
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: gonna take Philly both ways. Don't worry about it. I
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: got it. I'll take Philly both ways, all right, first
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: game back, he won't be ready to I don't think
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: they'll have him running around crazy coming off the injury. Anyway,
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the points. What the hey, Um, yeah,
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: he's off. Justin Fields is off the injury reporter. Yeah,
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the points in this game. Uh. Sunday
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: at one the ten and three Chiefs are at the
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: one eleven and one Texans Tennessee Kansas City by fourteen
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: on the road. That's a lot of I feel bad
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: for the type the Texans. They they played a good
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: game last week and deserve to win. Yeah, that's that's
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: why I'm gonna take Kansas City. But I'm gonna take
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: all the fourteen points. I think there's a little a
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: little something Kansas City both ways. Yeah, I'm gonna take
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: Kansas City both ways too, because of what happened to
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: them last week. I will take Kansas City both ways
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: as well. Texans, that was it for them, Yeah, I
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: think they put a lot into the Texas. Yeah, you
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: know they're playing Dallas that you know, they're probably like
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: no one cares about the Texans in Texas, right, everybody
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: cares about the Cowboys, And they probably took that and
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: I took that personally. Speaking of the Cowboys, they're ten
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: and three one o'clock and they're going to the Jaguars
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: who are five and eight. Dallas by foe ooh, I'm
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: gonna take Dallas on the road. I know Jacksonville has
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: been playing better, but I think Dallas is good. Yeah,
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: Tyron Smith back too. I give the wind to the Cowboys,
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: but I gave Jacksonville the points. I am going to
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: do the same, and I really thought long and hard
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: about making this an upset special, but I think Dallas
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: may have been snapped into reality with how close it
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: was last week. They haven't played great. Yeah, I don't
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: think Dallas. You know, they lost a Green Bay a
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago. They lose you know, they really
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: should have lost that game. But I'll take Dallas to
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: bounce back. I'll take the points. Yeah. I just think
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: they get at Trevor Lawrence. I think Cowboys both ways.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: It's a good point their pass rush. As much as
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: I would love to take the Jaguars, I can't do it.
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: Sunday at one, six and seven, Lions are at the
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: seven and six Jets, Go Lions, Jets by one, Go Lions.
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: It's a sneaky good game here, and I'm gonna go
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: with Dan Campbell and the Lions. I think they can
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: pull it off here. We'll see if if it's for real,
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: manifest it Detroit both ways. Yeah, do they have any
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: update on Mike White. I don't know if Mike White
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: plays this game, I'm gonna take. I'm gonna take the
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: Jets because I can't. I don't have the luxury. But
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: I'm going to assume that Mike White plays. If he
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: doesn't play, I think Detroit will win will allow you
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: to change it. I will not change it. I will
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: stick with the Jets. I don't cheat. One thing the
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: Lions can do is score points. One thing the Jets
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: can do is play defense. So this is a sneaky
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: good game. But I think the Lions score points and
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: that's all you need to do with the Jets these days.
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: So I'm gonna take the Lions, not the Mike White Jets. Yea,
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Lions. Now we move to four
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: or five. The four nine Cardinals, fresh off their spanking
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: from the Patriots, are at the three and ten home Broncos.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: The Broncos by three. Here's a game to not watch
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: on red zone. Paul, as we're watching the Patriots, I'm gonna,
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm gonna go with Denver since they're
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: at home. Yeah, Broncos. Yeah, I mean I have to
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: pick the Broncos, two terrible teams. Yeah, but without Tyler Murray,
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: I'll take Denver. Yeah. I think you chuck this for Broncos. Yeah. Um,
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: four h five yo, So we're gonna skip over four
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: h five the Patriots and we're gonna move to four
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: twenty five. It's the seven and six Titans at these
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: seven and six Chargers. Who do we want to win
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: this game? Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee. Yeah, uh, I'm sorry the
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: lack by three? Wow? Yeah, you didn't care who wins
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: the AFC, self, bread, Someone's gotta win, man, But in
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: terms of wild card, there is no wild card coming
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: out of the AFC self. Okay, sugar man, I I
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: really I gotta go with the Chargers. I think they're
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: gonna win. Um, Tennessee has been kind of collapsing here. Um,
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Chargers, even though I don't
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: want them to win. I take the Chargers as well. Yeah,
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Chargers to I've seen Rabeill do
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: this so many times that I'm reluctant, you know when yeah,
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: when everybody starts doubting them as when they come out.
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: But I just don't think they have it this year. Yeah,
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: I think they're gonna win the division because the division
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: is so bad. But I'll take the Lack. I agree,
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Lack. Four twenty five, the nine
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: and four Bengals are at the six and seven Buccaneers
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: Bengals by three and a half. Another one would love
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: to take Tampa here, but I can't. I think Cincinnati's
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: playing well. I'm gonna take them. We'm back and forth
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: on this one, but I'm gonna take Tampa Bay really wow, Okay, yeah,
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: I will take Cincinnati, but I am going to take
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: the hook and Bucks will lose by a field goal.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: I am gonna take the Bengals both ways. Of course,
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: I'm always rooting for Tom. But things do not look good.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: They do not look good down there eight twenty on Nbury. Sure,
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: these seven and five and one Giants are at the
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: seven five and one Commanders. This is the game the
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: Patriots were supposed to be in and got flexed out of,
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: thank thankfully. Washington by four and a half. Washington, Yeah,
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: I think unfortunately, little collapse here at the end for
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: the GM and but I'm gonna go with the Commanders.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: I just something about them. I don't know they're playing good.
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: It's weird. I've been successfully picking the Commanders all season
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: and I'm not stopping now. So I will take Washington,
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: but I will take the points with the Giants. The
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: Giants seemed to last week, notwithstanding play close games that
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: they have no business being in. I think Washington's better
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: than the Giants. I'll take them to win. Paul has
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: the right play. You take the Commanders, but you take
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: the points. One thing we know, based on the amount
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: of times that Fred has told me I have the
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: right play, means my bad streak will will continue. Monday night,
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: the four and nine Rams are at the five and
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: eight Packer. Uh, the Packers by seven. Man, I'm not
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: believing in Baker Mayfield. I hope not the game they
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: might have thought it was when they made the schedule. Um,
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: but I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Green Bay at home,
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: Packers by seven. Yeah, i will take the Packers to
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: win the game, but I'll take the points the Rams.
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: I thought they've played hard the last couple of weeks. Um,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: with nothing to play for, I'll take the point. This
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: is a game, definitely. The Sharps know what they're doing here.
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: You take the Packers both ways in this game because
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: this is a layout. I'm right nice, Okay, it makes
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: me feel a little bit at least like a one
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: coming back. Yet, now we go back to four h
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: five and the seven and six Patriots are at the
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: five and eight Raiders. So when I looked at this morning,
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: had the Raiders by one. I'm seeing a lot of
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: Patriots by one in other places. But we're gonna go
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: Raiders by one because we're consistent. Yeah, I wish I
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: could pick the Patriots. I got a bad feeling about
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: this one. I just I think the Raiders are going
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: to come out and play really well. I don't think
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: the Patriots have a perfect game, and you know, a
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: game that where they kind of transcend their issues that
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: I think that's what it would take. I got Vegas
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: winning fairly easily. I would say thirty four to twenty.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: I don't know what you did with Mike fred Yeah,
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: I wish I could pick the other on an explosion
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: of points. I looked at DraftKings when the Patriots were
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: had the advantage, but that you said, that's not what
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: we're gonna have. No, we're gonna go with the Raiders
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: by one. But I also saw the Patriots by one
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: on DraftKings today, So I believe I'm sadly, given the
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: state of our injury report right now, going to go
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: with Vegas both ways. Thirty four twenty seven. Well, I
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: am also taking the Raiders. I have twenty seven twenty three.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: If you could tell me the Patriots could get up
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: twenty seven thirty in that area, I think they they'll
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: win the game. I don't I don't know if the
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: Raiders will win a shootout going back and forth without
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: making the mistakes. But if the Patriots don't have that
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: kind of offensive game, I could see the Raiders getting
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: in the high twenties to thirty. So that's what I'm
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: going to expect. I can't predict a Patriots offensive explosion
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: without ever seeing it, and I haven't seen it for
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: fourteen weeks. So I'm going to take the Raiders. Yeah,
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: I mean, you go out west, you know, extended stay,
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: you win your first game, you know, can you win
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: two in a row on the road. You got a
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: factor in Josh McDaniels. He knows the Patriots. I think
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: that's a factor two. Fred he knows the Patriots, and
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: I think he hasn't lost the locker room yet. And
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: I think, you know, it's not just Josh, there's a
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: lot of other X pay coaches there. I think the
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: players know it's a big game for them and they're
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: gonna want to perform. I got to pick the Raiders
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: in this game. I have to pick the Raiders. Twenty
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: seven seventeen Raiders. Yeah, yeah, I feel I mean, I
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: just I wish, I wish it wasn't so, and I
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: hope I'm wrong, but I did. It's funny when Fred
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: goes through the whole thing and it's all pointing to
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: the East picking the Raiders. I just always assume he's
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: gonna say that said Patriots, you know they dig deep
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: and they win. Now, yeah, I mean like if I
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: if I if I thought the Patriots, you know, I
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: had a good chance, i'd pick them. They do have
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: the chance. I mean you, I mean, I don't know
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: about good chance, but they do have a chance. These
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: are two those are two terrible teams that but Arizona
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: and the Raiders are not good. But you always look
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: at the game like, okay, you know, the way I
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: look at it is neither team's gonna turn the ball
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: over or kill or beat themselves. And so given that,
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: I think the Raiders win. But like I didn't think
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: the Patriots had a chance to beat Buffalo, right right,
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: Like that's one No, no, I'm just saying that's one
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: that if you win, you're like, oh my god, no
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: one thought they had any shot to win that game. Sure,
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: I just I don't like we all we're all against
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: the page. I get. I get like that that trigger
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: in all four of us just pick the Raiders, and
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: you know, now it's gonna be like it was our
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: fault for us. We're either right or yeah, we help
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: the team. But you know, I like we talk about
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: I don't like the spot. You know, like either you know,
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: I don't like the spot. I don't like the team.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: I don't like I don't like the players all that much.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: I don't like how team our team has been playing
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: the whole year. And you know, I just I don't like.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: I don't think that I don't like Max Crosby and
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: Chandler Jones, you know, you know, I just I mean,
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: it's it's not a good matchup. It's not a good man.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: It's probably the most talented and and if yeah, I
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: don't like having to rely on the other team playing
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: poor league, right, That's how I feel. I feel like,
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: if if the Raiders play a reasonably good game, I
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: think they win. Whereas you know, if the Colts played
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: a reasonably good game, a few weeks ago. They weren't
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: gonna win. With sam Ellen Gray at quarterback. They weren't
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: gonna win. They would have had to play exceptionally well.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: And hope the Patriots didn't, right, And if for the
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: Patriots to win, you feel like you need to see
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: something you haven't seen for three months to suddenly magically
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: appear out of them nowhere in the middle of the
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: desert after on you know, yeah, staying out there. I mean,
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: if you're telling me, if you're telling me the Patriots
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: could possibly be in a track meet, Okay, well, yeah,
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: because I because I think that the Raiders will make mistakes. Now,
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: the counter of that is the Patriots haven't shown any
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: ability to win a shoot out either. But it's just
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: it's just for the defense. For the Patriots defense, it's
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: gonna be tough. It's gonna be tough, especially if the
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: offense isn't keeping up. You know, if you fall behind
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: by ten in this game, I don't know well, And
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: and that's a I mean, that's a great point, Fred,
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: because I just wonder mentally where this team is at.
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: And you know, I think, like I said in during
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: the early part of the show, I hope that they
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: come out and show, you know, the fight and that
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: they're ready for this kind of game. But I have
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: the same kind of concerns if it starts going badly,
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: how much? How many more games is this team going
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: to have any kind of fight when they get into it?
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: And the Raiders do get up in games? Yeah, it's
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: the team that can't come from behind against the team
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: that can't hold a lead, right, but who knows? Yeah,
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: so who wins? But if the Raiders get up like
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: with this offense, do you really see them being able
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: to do what other teams have done? That was almost
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: that was almost my key to the game. Spot the
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: Raiders of fifteen point lead. Yeah, I'm right where we're wanting.
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: I hope we're all wrong. All right, that's gonna be
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered. Stay tuned for
