- 0:07Speaker 1: Can you trust this market?
- 0:08Speaker 2: Pump today will break it down for you, give you
- 0:10Speaker 2: some insights and maybe how to play This week.
- 0:13Speaker 1: A lot is happening.
- 0:13Speaker 2: My name is Paul Barren, will come back into tech path.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Let's gets going, and I do want to thank our sponsor,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and that is Coinbase. Coinbase is a great place for
- 0:19Speaker 2: you guys to get started on your crypto journey. And
- 0:22Speaker 2: you know the market might be at its lowest right now,
- 0:25Speaker 2: so this could be the spot where you can make
- 0:28Speaker 2: your first entries.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Check it out.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Coinbase the place for you to get the future of money.
- 0:32Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:32Speaker 2: A couple other things I want to hit on right
- 0:34Speaker 2: here is President Trump is no longer expected to impose
- 0:38Speaker 2: sector specific tariffs.
- 0:41Speaker 1: On April second. This is coming out of the Wall
- 0:43Speaker 1: Street Journal.
- 0:44Speaker 2: The S and P five hundred now up seventy five
- 0:46Speaker 2: bases points, so pretty interesting move. I think this may
- 0:49Speaker 2: have sparked a little bit of a recovery here in
- 0:53Speaker 2: the crypto markets as well, But don't completely go off
- 0:57Speaker 2: on that because we are still looking right down the
- 1:00Speaker 2: barrel of a major tariff hit coming April.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Second. I want to go to this first clip.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Take a look, Hey, David, that's right. So, first, we
- 1:09Speaker 3: had some optimism stemming from those headlines this weekend that
- 1:12Speaker 3: the White House might be looking at a narrower set
- 1:13Speaker 3: of tariffs next week than we had initially thought. Both
- 1:16Speaker 3: Bloomberg and the Journal reporting that jump will be focused
- 1:19Speaker 3: only on the country by country reciprocal tariffs on April second,
- 1:22Speaker 3: and not those broader sector specific tariffs on things like
- 1:25Speaker 3: automobiles and pharmaceuticals. But now a White House official tells
- 1:29Speaker 3: me this morning in response to those reports that sectoral
- 1:32Speaker 3: tariffs quote may happen or may not. They say no
- 1:35Speaker 3: final decisions have been made as to whether sectoral tariffs
- 1:38Speaker 3: will be tacked on to those reciprocal And then, as
- 1:41Speaker 3: you mentioned, to further underscore guys, the amount of movement
- 1:44Speaker 3: on this, just in the last few minutes, the President
- 1:46Speaker 3: posted on social media saying that any country buying oil
- 1:49Speaker 3: and gas from Venezuela will now have to pay an
- 1:52Speaker 3: extra twenty five percent tariff on all of its exports
- 1:55Speaker 3: to the US. That will particularly hit China some South
- 1:58Speaker 3: American countries as well. Spain is on that list. And
- 2:01Speaker 3: so if the conflicting headlines make your head spin, I
- 2:03Speaker 3: would say that's partly by design. Some of the administration
- 2:06Speaker 3: do think that the vagueness or the chaos sort of
- 2:09Speaker 3: helps give them more leverage and negotiations with trading partners.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Okay, So while that may give Trump a little bit
- 2:15Speaker 2: more leverage and maybe even to the US to a
- 2:18Speaker 2: certain extent, it definitely is not good for business because
- 2:20Speaker 2: I think what we're looking at right now is the
- 2:22Speaker 2: uncertainty that the market, of course is having to pretty
- 2:26Speaker 2: much a deal with. And I think this is the
- 2:28Speaker 2: factor that plays into not only the stock market, but
- 2:31Speaker 2: also individual investing and jobs. We'll talk about that in
- 2:34Speaker 2: a second. I want to go to another clip because
- 2:36Speaker 2: this is another carry on of other sectors that could
- 2:40Speaker 2: be impacted by these tariffs, and he's talking about housing here.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Take a look, morning, Beckett. Good to see you.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Well, building contractors already raising prices as much as twenty
- 2:49Speaker 4: percent on fears of tariffs, and that could make housing
- 2:52Speaker 4: even less affordable.
- 2:54Speaker 5: We're seeing subs throw an additional cushion into their numbers
- 2:58Speaker 5: anticipating tariffs.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Percent.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Well, it's gonna be as much as like twenty percent,
- 3:03Speaker 5: depending on what material they're getting from country.
- 3:06Speaker 4: The National Association of Home Builders estimates the terrace on lumbers, steel, aluminum,
- 3:10Speaker 4: and other building materials could raise the cost of a
- 3:13Speaker 4: new home by as much as ten thousand dollars. The
- 3:16Speaker 4: trade wars with Mexico and Canada also hurting potential sales.
- 3:20Speaker 4: RELATEDST chairman George Perez told me that some buyers from
- 3:23Speaker 4: Mexico and Canada are canceling contracts to buy condos in Florida.
- 3:28Speaker 4: So between China and Canada, nine billion dollars of US
- 3:31Speaker 4: real estate are sold to those to buyers from those
- 3:34Speaker 4: two countries every year, so especially a place like It's Florida,
- 3:37Speaker 4: Arizona and.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Texas, Mexico's third and Florida too.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, so nine billion, as you see, off
- 3:44Speaker 2: the top of the market right now, mainly with the
- 3:47Speaker 2: contrasting issues facing a lot of Canadians and Mexicans that
- 3:52Speaker 2: are looking at the US as a possible you know,
- 3:54Speaker 2: vacation spot or just an investment. This I think will
- 3:57Speaker 2: settle down to a certain extent, but I do believe
- 4:00Speaker 2: that the long term Trump is still looking at really
- 4:03Speaker 2: applying a lot of pressure to these countries, primarily around
- 4:07Speaker 2: these reciprocal tariffs. There are five US economic reports though
- 4:10Speaker 2: that are out that are going to determine where bitcoin
- 4:13Speaker 2: could fall into this. So this is the faith that
- 4:15Speaker 2: we're looking at this week. A few things. Let me
- 4:17Speaker 2: kind of zoom in on this for you guys. Recent
- 4:19Speaker 2: trends right there showing manufacturing holiday study is around fifty
- 4:23Speaker 2: two to seven and services following with a reading of
- 4:26Speaker 2: fifty one. So what we're looking at here are services
- 4:29Speaker 2: and manufacturing and the indicators that could play into this.
- 4:32Speaker 2: PMI readings could increase a little bit of a risk appetite.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And then also as we come to the end of
- 4:37Speaker 2: Q one, the markets could close out first quarter maybe down,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and I think that could have a little bit of
- 4:44Speaker 2: an impact as well on Trump and in general, as
- 4:47Speaker 2: we all know, sentiment market sentiment really does dictate a
- 4:50Speaker 2: lot of how he responds to this. Further down the
- 4:53Speaker 2: article February's drop, This is in reference to consumer confidence.
- 4:57Speaker 2: This was a drop down to ninety eighty three. This
- 4:59Speaker 2: is the sharpest one. So that's a bit of a
- 5:02Speaker 2: concern right there, because if we continue to see a
- 5:04Speaker 2: decline in that, the appetite outside of traditional investors could
- 5:08Speaker 2: be problematic for traditional retail investors. If confidence this fall,
- 5:14Speaker 2: further expectations of the FED easing could rise, and I
- 5:18Speaker 2: think that right now is still a little bit of
- 5:20Speaker 2: a mixed result. Back because as you saw last week
- 5:22Speaker 2: on our show, if you didn't go back and watch
- 5:25Speaker 2: our fom see live hearing and by the way, subscribe
- 5:28Speaker 2: to the channel right now. That way you're going to
- 5:30Speaker 2: get notifications of those kind of videos. But that was
- 5:34Speaker 2: one of the most mixed results FOMC meetings we had seen,
- 5:37Speaker 2: mainly because he had indicated that there's some possible quantitative
- 5:41Speaker 2: easning because he was slowing the balance sheets some. But
- 5:44Speaker 2: at the same time no necessarily or necessarily a direction
- 5:49Speaker 2: on whether or not we're going to see a raycut.
- 5:51Speaker 2: That's the problem with the mixed results. March fifteenth also
- 5:55Speaker 2: slightly blow. This is reference to jobs with slightly abow
- 5:59Speaker 2: the TUN twenty four thousand expected. This of course could
- 6:03Speaker 2: indicate a cooling economy and meaning businesses just slowing down
- 6:06Speaker 2: not hiring as many people. That again is another problem
- 6:09Speaker 2: for the US overall. Further on out here, breaking this
- 6:13Speaker 2: came in from KOBEEC and this is basically talking about
- 6:15Speaker 2: the S and P five hundred. They opened sharply higher.
- 6:18Speaker 2: This is up around one point two trillion, pretty significant
- 6:21Speaker 2: in terms of a market gap over the last two sessions.
- 6:24Speaker 2: So a pretty big move here on the S and
- 6:27Speaker 2: P five hundred. Probably why we're seeing a little bit
- 6:30Speaker 2: come off the gold market right now as we look
- 6:32Speaker 2: at that, and also with the S and P five hundred,
- 6:34Speaker 2: as I've stated many times, is it seems to pair
- 6:38Speaker 2: along with what's going on with the bitcoin market. Of
- 6:40Speaker 2: course that does affect all coins, and of course Bitcoin
- 6:43Speaker 2: right now at around.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Eighty eight today broke it today is.
- 6:46Speaker 2: At time of recording, but Bitcoin right now could hit
- 6:49Speaker 2: the one hundred and ten K mark before we see
- 6:52Speaker 2: a replacement. This is coming in from Arthur Hayes. He's
- 6:55Speaker 2: been right and wrong on a lot of things, but
- 6:58Speaker 2: it is an interesting take, and here's some of his
- 7:00Speaker 2: points that he gets onto. Mainly, what he's looking at
- 7:04Speaker 2: is the QT two QE, and it's like what we've
- 7:09Speaker 2: been talking about. The FED is going in the direction
- 7:12Speaker 2: that everybody wants them to go. Mean, they're going to
- 7:14Speaker 2: slow the tightening down. That was already stated by Powell
- 7:17Speaker 2: last week. But if QE truly comes in and we
- 7:20Speaker 2: start seeing raycuts, then it is definitely off to the races.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Overall.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I don't see why this one ten number. Maybe going
- 7:29Speaker 2: into May possibility would be a scenario that could play
- 7:33Speaker 2: into this. But you know, he goes further on is
- 7:36Speaker 2: is I mean that the price is more likely one
- 7:38Speaker 2: hundred and ten k than seventy six. If we hit
- 7:42Speaker 2: the one ten, it's YACHTSI time, So it's not looking
- 7:44Speaker 2: back until two fifty. So that's a very big trigger
- 7:47Speaker 2: point right now if we see a one ten mark
- 7:50Speaker 2: come in or even get in within a window of it.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So it is a number we are watching right now.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Let me know in the comments.
- 7:56Speaker 1: If you are bullish or bearish right.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Now on bitcoin, specifically on bitcoin, bullish or barrish, just
- 8:03Speaker 2: let me know. Let's go over to an expost right here.
- 8:06Speaker 2: This is where it gets a little interesting. Investors are
- 8:09Speaker 2: now allocating more than fifty percent of their assets to stocks.
- 8:14Speaker 2: This is the highest that we've seen in history. Now,
- 8:17Speaker 2: there are some concerns for that because people could get
- 8:21Speaker 2: wrecked here if the market does see a major reversal.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Many people though, believe this might be early.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And if you compare this to previous markets, and right
- 8:31Speaker 2: now what we're comparing this to. If you're listening on
- 8:34Speaker 2: the audio podcast, you got to jump over to the
- 8:36Speaker 2: YouTube channel is the dot com boom. And during the
- 8:39Speaker 2: dot com boom, this was between August ninety five and
- 8:43Speaker 2: March two thousand and if everybody remembers, that run up
- 8:47Speaker 2: had several legs to it. So you saw this leg
- 8:50Speaker 2: which was really kind of coming off the floor into
- 8:52Speaker 2: this zone right here, which was really around late ninety seven,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and then a skyrocket into it. Now that could be
- 8:59Speaker 2: where the S and P five hundred is right now,
- 9:02Speaker 2: meaning we could see a seven thousand, a six thousand
- 9:06Speaker 2: run at an S and P five hundred, and of
- 9:08Speaker 2: course that would have some heavy indicators on growth for
- 9:11Speaker 2: risk assets as well. Chris speaking of that, Chris Berneski
- 9:15Speaker 2: says that.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It all takes.
- 9:17Speaker 2: All it takes is one day, and I truly agree
- 9:19Speaker 2: with this, is that it takes one day not a
- 9:22Speaker 2: complete bullish reversal, especially when it comes down to crypto markets.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Within the article, he hits at a couple points right
- 9:29Speaker 2: here top crypto asset market cap. He says bitcoin appears
- 9:33Speaker 2: to react to fluctuations in global liquidity, and this is
- 9:36Speaker 2: something we've talked about in terms of the MP to
- 9:38Speaker 2: money supply. Global liquidity is very important for bitcoin specifically,
- 9:43Speaker 2: selling here is a little bit of an unlikely good idea.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So if you are thinking, should I get out before
- 9:50Speaker 2: April second and try to make this trade, If you're
- 9:54Speaker 2: in it for the long haul, stay around. You know,
- 9:57Speaker 2: if you're in it for the long haul, April second is.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Just another day.
- 10:00Speaker 2: If you look at this, we might see a massive reversal.
- 10:04Speaker 2: The question that you will ask yourself is why did
- 10:07Speaker 2: you stay in many of those scenarios when you see
- 10:10Speaker 2: a ten percent reversal, especially within the S and P
- 10:14Speaker 2: five hundred, because that, of course will affect bitcoin and
- 10:18Speaker 2: all coins in a big way.
- 10:19Speaker 1: He goes on to talk about this.
- 10:21Speaker 2: In traditional venture private valuations are way too high to
- 10:24Speaker 2: go public, so we're not going to see IPOs. So
- 10:27Speaker 2: this is going to get a reset of valuations. This
- 10:30Speaker 2: is where things could go public to recreate the appetite
- 10:33Speaker 2: for IPOs.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's a possibility.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Same will happen with crypto assets, but maybe faster. That's
- 10:38Speaker 2: an interesting statement because we could see maybe a consideration
- 10:42Speaker 2: of reevaluation. I think Ethereum is going through that right now.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Is the reevaluation we just now hit. I think it
- 10:48Speaker 2: was twenty one hundred today, but that's the whole point.
- 10:51Speaker 2: As many people were in ethereum at twenty one hundred
- 10:54Speaker 2: a year ago, so the reevaluation valuation could have already
- 10:58Speaker 2: occurred and I could be on the precipice of taking
- 11:02Speaker 2: a move up further into this. I want to talk
- 11:04Speaker 2: about XRP because there's a lot of things that many
- 11:07Speaker 2: people attribute the markets to based on Ripple. This is
- 11:11Speaker 2: a clip that talks about the market expansion of Ripple overall,
- 11:15Speaker 2: why I could have an impact on crypto in general.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Take a look.
- 11:19Speaker 6: We're thrilled with the ultimate outcome and it allows us
- 11:22Speaker 6: to really unlock the US market, which has really been
- 11:25Speaker 6: very hostile with a lot of headwinds in the US
- 11:27Speaker 6: market for the whole crypto industry. Once the United States
- 11:30Speaker 6: government filed suit, we really were kind of frozen in
- 11:33Speaker 6: the US market, and so about ninety five percent of
- 11:36Speaker 6: our customers today Ripple's customers are non US financial institutions,
- 11:40Speaker 6: and those are some of the largest financial stitutions, ranging
- 11:43Speaker 6: from HSBC and BBVA to payment providers. You wouldn't necessarily
- 11:47Speaker 6: have heard of. Markets like Japan I think are still
- 11:51Speaker 6: unlocking the market. Opportunity here is massive. You have trillions
- 11:55Speaker 6: of dollars flowing cross border globally, but that's changing now.
- 11:59Speaker 6: The Trump effect, if you will, is profound. Then the
- 12:03Speaker 6: United States is finally unlocked, and I think people are
- 12:05Speaker 6: underestimating how big that change is. And you'll see that
- 12:09Speaker 6: continue to play out this year.
- 12:11Speaker 2: All right, So that's garling House. Basically, what he's saying
- 12:13Speaker 2: is ripel is going to go to the moon and
- 12:15Speaker 2: we're going to see XRP maybe surpass that five dollar mark,
- 12:18Speaker 2: which is really kind of been the zone target that
- 12:20Speaker 2: many people have been looking to. The Other thing that
- 12:23Speaker 2: could play into this is token is securities. And this
- 12:25Speaker 2: is where it gets interesting because remember stable coins has
- 12:28Speaker 2: been one of the key catalysts of where this market
- 12:31Speaker 2: is going. Stable cooin growth, the likelihood of a stable
- 12:34Speaker 2: coin act coming through going to happen, and stable coins
- 12:38Speaker 2: have fueled kind of the early financial rails, meaning it's
- 12:41Speaker 2: just getting started. But tokenized treasuries haven't even started yet,
- 12:45Speaker 2: so they could scale even faster. So if you're looking
- 12:48Speaker 2: at RWA's and if you look at tokenis versus trad
- 12:51Speaker 2: five market, just to show you the difference right now
- 12:53Speaker 2: of where we're seeing US dollars and treasury markets. This
- 12:56Speaker 2: is all could be generated out of stable coins, and
- 13:00Speaker 2: you can kind of see stable coins supporting that at
- 13:02Speaker 2: only two hundred and twenty five billion. Token iss assets
- 13:05Speaker 2: right now in terms of treasuries only have four point
- 13:07Speaker 2: six billion. So that's the upside to it on both
- 13:11Speaker 2: of those things, which will generate a lot of demand
- 13:13Speaker 2: in the market for crypto in general.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And I think this is where many.
- 13:16Speaker 2: People look to the future of companies like Ripple Avalanche,
- 13:21Speaker 2: many of the token is security platforms that are out there.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Here's another clip this has met a law man talking
- 13:27Speaker 2: about Ripple's position in crypto.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Take a look.
- 13:31Speaker 7: The way I viewed the entire just forward was if
- 13:34Speaker 7: they could stop Ripple in a stablish that XRP was
- 13:41Speaker 7: an investment contract in and of itself, which is so ridiculous.
- 13:46Speaker 7: And then the second piece hasn't than all of the
- 13:49Speaker 7: exchanges we're somehow engaged in trading of free floating investment
- 13:55Speaker 7: contracts where I don't even know who the counter parties
- 13:58Speaker 7: were on these investment contracts. Leave that side, then you're done.
- 14:03Speaker 7: Then you have chilled the crypto industry because if xrpiece
- 14:06Speaker 7: of security, everybody's pretty much of Security.
- 14:11Speaker 2: All right, So that was Metela man Uh and he's
- 14:14Speaker 2: hitting on the very point is this was a case
- 14:17Speaker 2: that could not be lost. And I think Ripple understood that,
- 14:20Speaker 2: the market understood that, even Coinbase. That was of course
- 14:22Speaker 2: Paul Graywell there, chief counsel over at Coinbase, and.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I would agree with that.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I think this has been a unbelievable turnaround for the market.
- 14:32Speaker 2: If you're brand new to crypto, you have missed a
- 14:36Speaker 2: tennis match back and forth between Gary Gensler's SEC and
- 14:39Speaker 2: where we are today, which is a complete spin on
- 14:44Speaker 2: the markets in general and what we will most likely
- 14:46Speaker 2: see going into the next decade for where crypto is going.
- 14:50Speaker 2: And the guy that's going to lead that is the
- 14:52Speaker 2: new chair that's incoming right now. We're talking about Paul Atkins,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and he is slated for a hearing on March twenty seven,
- 14:58Speaker 2: so that's going to happen this week. We can have
- 15:00Speaker 2: a new chair, which means a new charge at the SEC.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Very pro crypto, very pro.
- 15:06Speaker 2: DeFi also understands the idea of what this innovation can
- 15:10Speaker 2: mean to the United States, So very big deals coming
- 15:14Speaker 2: down the pipeline. Also, another big note right here is
- 15:18Speaker 2: the stable apt Act markup is happening on April second.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Notice.
- 15:22Speaker 2: That's also the day that most likely we'll see a
- 15:25Speaker 2: lot of fireworks coming out of DC because of the
- 15:28Speaker 2: potential tariffs that are begin to hitting.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It is going to get very active.
- 15:32Speaker 2: So I want you guys to make sure and stay
- 15:33Speaker 2: tuned this week throughout the show, but next week could
- 15:37Speaker 2: be a very different week going forward. So if you're
