Transcript
- 0:01Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Eye Opener Society. Thank you again for joining
- 0:04me on one of these quicker, shorter attention span kind of podcast.
- 0:09And I wanted to talk to you about compliments.
- 0:12We always know that criticism hits hard. I mean, it punches you right in the
- 0:18face and it knocks your teeth out.
- 0:21Constructive criticism is a little less violent, so to speak.
- 0:26But what about the nice compliments that we seem to lack?
- 0:30I know going way back when I had done an episode about conversation,
- 0:36not comments, because I'm so sick of comments.
- 0:39They're so underhanded. They're so brutal and they're so ridiculous.
- 0:44Pay somebody something kind. Say nice words to them. Find the nice in whatever it may be.
- 0:50There's nothing wrong with expressing that sort of creativity.
- 0:54It has nothing to do with you know because here here's the thing if you do find
- 1:01flaws in another person it takes a much stronger person to find the nicer things within those flaws,
- 1:09so saying something nice when you probably were not expecting to do so.
- 1:15Not only is that complimentary to the person who you said it to,
- 1:20it's complimentary to your own self.
- 1:22It's complimentary to your own ego to look away from stuff like that.
- 1:26So pay a nicer compliment to someone rather than always worried about being
- 1:32highly critical of someone else, something else, whatever it may be.
- 1:38It's just like the old saying that if you don't like something, just look away.
- 1:44You know if you don't like a tv program turn it
- 1:47off if you do not like this podcast just turn
- 1:50it off there's tons out there so much more
- 1:53that you can find that you actually match to and once you match to these things
- 1:58then you have a much better time but people love you know to find things they
- 2:04do not like and then they sit in it they find that space and place themselves
- 2:09in it to constantly be negative,
- 2:12to take something positive from someone else and to start to load that vibration
- 2:16and totally destroy the energy that's in the air. And I noticed that happening more and more.
- 2:22And that's, I think, again, we got to blame social media for that,
- 2:25but let's stop blaming social media.
- 2:27And again, start taking blame 100% for ourselves because everything we do is what we do.
- 2:33There's a consequence to everything and we don't take responsibility for it.
- 2:37So instead of just doing just stop.
- 2:42Everything then falls back to normal. I know the concept sometimes seems so simple.
- 2:51But again, if it's so simple, then why don't we just do it? Why don't we just
- 2:55stop with the negativity?
- 2:57Why don't we just stop taking other people's space, pay a compliment,
- 3:02say something nice, do something that's meaningful, and I think we'll be so much better.
