- 0:00Speaker 1: You're waking up to Denver's Morning.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Show with Nina and Josh.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Mix 100.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Josh, today's already a good day. I'm excited.
- 0:07Speaker 4: I am full of energy. I am ready for today.
- 0:11Speaker 1: What happened? What's going on?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Um, what is going on?
- 0:14Speaker 4: How about the fact that we are giving away our
- 0:16Speaker 4: final pair of Ella Langley.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Tickets today at Zig Zag Burgers? Duh!
- 0:21Speaker 3: Duh!
- 0:21Speaker 1: Absolutely. I knew that. Just wanted to make sure you
- 0:23Speaker 1: knew that.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Oh, I know. I know, and I am so ready.
- 0:28Speaker 2: In fact.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Last night over at the Grizzly Rose, Ella Langley, she
- 0:31Speaker 4: was performing there, I saw all the videos, and it
- 0:34Speaker 4: just got me that much more excited For our event
- 0:37Speaker 4: today to get one of our lucky listeners to that
- 0:40Speaker 4: show at Red Rocks tonight.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, she absolutely crushed it like she does in typical
- 0:44Speaker 3: Ella fashion. And yeah, I saw some videos too. I'm
- 0:48Speaker 3: extremely jealous, by the way, if anybody got to go
- 0:50Speaker 3: last night. I know. But that being said, yeah, I mean,
- 0:53Speaker 3: she is such a freaking talented artist. I cannot wait
- 0:57Speaker 3: to give these away. Literally make someone's day, week, their month,
- 0:59Speaker 3: their year.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So I'm excited for this. Probably.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 4: So Ella taking over Red Rocks tonight, your final chance
- 1:05Speaker 4: to win tickets happens today at noon, noon until one
- 1:09Speaker 4: at Zigzag Burgers. It's off Arapahoe and I-25 in the
- 1:12Speaker 4: tech center. Meet us there for lunch.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Start making those lunch plans to get your butt out
- 1:18Speaker 4: of the office. Get there before one o'clock because one
- 1:20Speaker 4: o'clock is when we're going to essentially draw a name
- 1:23Speaker 4: to win those tickets.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And here's the thing. We have one pair of tickets available.
- 1:29Speaker 4: And so I was like, man, you know, we know
- 1:31Speaker 4: a lot of people are going to be showing up
- 1:33Speaker 4: trying to get these tickets. We only have the one pair,
- 1:35Speaker 4: which is very exciting. And we're grateful to have that
- 1:37Speaker 4: to give away.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But I was like, we.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Need a little something extra for everyone who stops by. So, Josh,
- 1:44Speaker 4: I went out to the stores yesterday and I bought
- 1:48Speaker 4: all sorts of beads and stuff to make little Ella
- 1:52Speaker 4: Langley friendship bracelets.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Oh, that's the cutest thing ever. I didn't know this.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:57Speaker 5: I did.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I was like, you know what?
- 1:58Speaker 4: This will just be something fun while we're sitting there
- 2:00Speaker 4: for lunch and everything, just for anyone to do. So
- 2:04Speaker 4: we got to make out some of these bracelets. I
- 2:06Speaker 4: got the turquoise and everything.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Can we make BFF bracelets?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh, we should.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I want to. Like, genuinely, I want to.
- 2:12Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever done that before.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Really?
- 2:15Speaker 1: I've never made a bracelet like that.
- 2:16Speaker 2: It's actually so fun. I don't know.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I'm excited for this.
- 2:18Speaker 2: It's just something about making your own bracelet, and then
- 2:20Speaker 2: you wear it afterwards.
- 2:20Speaker 6: You're like.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I remember that day.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It was fun.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I've seen every Taylor Swift fan in the world
- 2:25Speaker 3: make them. So I'm excited for this. I really want
- 2:26Speaker 3: to try it.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I have all the materials and it will be over
- 2:30Speaker 4: there at Zig Zag Burgers today in the tech center.
- 2:33Speaker 4: So meet us out there. Make those plans to meet
- 2:36Speaker 4: us out there because we are excited. And yeah, Josh,
- 2:39Speaker 4: I even put on my cowboy boots today.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Did you really? Okay, hold on.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I have boots on today.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I saw your outfit, and you're rocking in a cowgirl.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You look like a cowgirl. I love it. I love it.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I got my boots, my leather pants, and my rhinestone belt,
- 2:50Speaker 4: and that is half of a country song right there.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Look at you.
- 2:52Speaker 1: That is. You just wrote it.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So Ella, if you want to take that girl, I'll
- 2:59Speaker 2: let you have it.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Okay.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Killing me so one of my all-time favorite artists i
- 3:06Speaker 4: love her so much is miley cyrus and miley came
- 3:10Speaker 4: out with a new album bass bass bass bass persuades
- 3:15Speaker 4: hello i'm sorry you know what it's 6 a.m what
- 3:17Speaker 4: do you want from me all right bass persuades and
- 3:20Speaker 4: um she made history with this album But it's not
- 3:24Speaker 4: a good thing. So her album fell from number one
- 3:27Speaker 4: in its first week, premiered at number one.
- 3:28Speaker 1: That's what I thought. I was like, she crushed it, right?
- 3:30Speaker 6: She did.
- 3:31Speaker 2: She really did.
- 3:31Speaker 4: But then the second week, it made a huge fall
- 3:36Speaker 4: to 157 on the list.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I'm not laughing, Miley.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Holy Toledo.
- 3:44Speaker 4: This is the second biggest second week drop for an
- 3:47Speaker 4: album that did debut at number one. So the first
- 3:50Speaker 4: was back in 2016, so it's been a while, with
- 3:54Speaker 4: Bon Jovi, This House Is Not For Sale.
- 3:58Speaker 2: That one went down to 169 from number one.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Kind of makes sense.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 4: But Miley Cyrus, her album just totally dropped after the
- 4:06Speaker 4: second week. So I don't know what happened there, but
- 4:09Speaker 4: I mean, she's still planning to do all sorts of
- 4:12Speaker 4: stuff with her new music. She's not necessarily touring, but
- 4:15Speaker 4: she has a couple of dates at the Hollywood Bowl.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And so she is getting ready for that. She's doing
- 4:21Speaker 4: rehearsals and everything for those shows that are gonna be
- 4:25Speaker 4: coming up. But yeah, her album, oof, made history in
- 4:28Speaker 4: the wrong way.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I feel like right now there is such an emphasis
- 4:33Speaker 3: on nostalgia factor. And earlier even this year, she did
- 4:37Speaker 3: the whole Hannah Montana 20 thing, like a turn 20.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Why not just kind of go into that and maybe
- 4:43Speaker 3: play some of your hits from back then?
- 4:46Speaker 2: That's true.
- 4:46Speaker 1: As opposed to trying to just push. Because right now,
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Like, the album's just missing right now, you know?
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit.
- 4:54Speaker 4: But the thing about Miley is once she does something,
- 4:59Speaker 4: she wants to move on to.
- 5:00Speaker 2: The next project.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And I get that as an artist.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You can't stop Miley from doing what she.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Wants to do.
- 5:04Speaker 3: And I understand, like, I'm sure as an artist, she's like, hey,
- 5:07Speaker 3: I got new things I want to try in life.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And I totally get that. Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 3: But I don't know. I loved Hannah Montana growing up.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I watched my older sister. So that's very nostalgic for me.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So maybe, I don't know. I just feel like maybe
- 5:17Speaker 3: she should hit that a little bit and get some of.
- 5:19Speaker 1: The fandom back.
- 5:19Speaker 2: She could have done it a little bit more.
- 5:21Speaker 4: And maybe she'll add those performances into her Hollywood Bowl shows.
- 5:24Speaker 1: That are coming up. That'd be really cool. People would talk.
- 5:26Speaker 1: People would talk.
- 5:27Speaker 2: They would.
- 5:27Speaker 1: All right, Nina.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I need to talk to you about this because I
- 5:30Speaker 3: have so many questions. So Krista Pike, she is obviously
- 5:34Speaker 3: the person that was supposed to be sentenced to death
- 5:37Speaker 3: last week. Actually, I think a week ago today.
- 5:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Supposed to be sentenced to death. She had two lethal
- 5:42Speaker 3: injections of the drug that I don't even want to
- 5:45Speaker 3: try to say because it's a wrong word.
- 5:47Speaker 1: She survived.
- 5:48Speaker 3: She was taken to a hospital in Nashville, remained there
- 5:51Speaker 3: for a while. She was on a ventilator. She couldn't talk.
- 5:53Speaker 3: She's awake, and she's talking now to officials. Whoa, this
- 5:58Speaker 3: is insane.
- 5:59Speaker 4: So this has been all over my timeline. I've seen
- 6:01Speaker 4: this everywhere. It's on news channels everywhere. This is nationwide,
- 6:05Speaker 4: worldwide news.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I think.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yes, so now her legal team is saying, hey, you
- 6:09Speaker 3: know what? We're incredibly grateful to the first responders and
- 6:11Speaker 3: medical team who treated Krista like a human being, which,
- 6:15Speaker 3: by the way, that is their oath. I understand that
- 6:17Speaker 3: as a medical team, it doesn't matter this person's background.
- 6:20Speaker 3: If you are trying to save them, you have to
- 6:21Speaker 3: save them. Then they also went on to say, We
- 6:23Speaker 3: want to thank the thousands of people from all over
- 6:27Speaker 3: the world who sent messages offering prayers and support for Krista.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Questions.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:36Speaker 3: We do know why this woman was in prison and
- 6:39Speaker 3: then sentenced to death, correct?
- 6:41Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:42Speaker 2: She took someone else's life in a very brutal, terrible way.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Horrific, by the way.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Ripped her open yes crushed her skull like.
- 6:49Speaker 4: The whole thing it was brutal yes.
- 6:52Speaker 3: She was also 18 when that happened she's an adult
- 6:54Speaker 3: i know you're a young adult i understand that but
- 6:56Speaker 3: you are an adult yeah and you know the decision
- 6:58Speaker 3: you're making right i don't want to seem you know
- 7:05Speaker 3: skewed in my view or anything like this but a
- 7:07Speaker 3: why did we save her yeah and then b why
- 7:11Speaker 3: are we praying for her to recover.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Those are genuine questions.
- 7:16Speaker 3: I'm not trying to look at this sideways, but she
- 7:20Speaker 3: was supposed to pass away.
- 7:22Speaker 4: She was supposed to, and something medically went wrong.
- 7:25Speaker 2: We know that much.
- 7:26Speaker 1: They couldn't find the vein, apparently.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Yes, something happened when they went to go inject her.
- 7:31Speaker 4: The needle, it didn't hit where it needed to hit,
- 7:33Speaker 4: and so it was not injected properly.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So why save her?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Seriously.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Seriously.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I think that that's what they're supposed to do.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I think by lethal injection, it's supposed to work by
- 7:45Speaker 4: lethal injection, and that is it. If it doesn't, then
- 7:48Speaker 4: you have to go back, you have to try to
- 7:50Speaker 4: save this person, and then go through the motions again
- 7:53Speaker 4: of continuing whatever in the eyes of the law and
- 7:57Speaker 4: see what's next.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So are we rescheduling this?
- 8:00Speaker 2: I don't know. That's the thing is I don't know.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Like genuinely.
- 8:05Speaker 4: I think there are a lot of people involved in
- 8:08Speaker 4: this case that don't quite know what to do next,
- 8:10Speaker 4: and I think that this is going to be an
- 8:13Speaker 4: ongoing thing, especially if now she is alive again.
- 8:16Speaker 2: She is awake. She is talking. Yeah, exactly.
- 8:19Speaker 3: And apparently, like, she does have, the story went on
- 8:21Speaker 3: to say she does have, like, a long road to recovery.
- 8:25Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 1: That being said, I mean, it took her, I think, what,
- 8:28Speaker 1: 26 years?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 1: To have this whole thing play out.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Which that part mainly blows my mind of this whole thing.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Well, the court system is so slow. Yeah. That's beside
- 8:38Speaker 1: the point, essentially.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But is it going to be another 26 years? Is
- 8:41Speaker 1: she going to live that long?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Like, there's so many questions in this that I'm just like,
- 8:44Speaker 3: what the heck?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Happened here.
- 8:47Speaker 2: No, truly, truly. And that is the question. There are
- 8:50Speaker 2: a lot of question marks.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I don't have all the answers, but I do know
- 8:53Speaker 4: that there are a lot of advocates on both sides,
- 8:58Speaker 4: on both sides of this entire situation.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I've seen it all and I understand it. I get
- 9:02Speaker 3: like life is so precious. It's the one thing we
- 9:05Speaker 3: have that is a one time thing here. So I
- 9:07Speaker 3: understand that. But like, I don't understand how I don't
- 9:11Speaker 3: understand it. And I don't understand why thousands of people
- 9:13Speaker 3: are are supporting this woman.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's weird, right?
- 9:20Speaker 4: But at the same time, that is the beauty of,
- 9:24Speaker 4: I guess, being able to live in this world is
- 9:26Speaker 4: you get to believe what you want to believe.
- 9:28Speaker 5: Amen.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:28Speaker 1: Amen, sister, I agree.
- 9:30Speaker 4: You know, those who are advocating for her, I think
- 9:32Speaker 4: that they just, at the end of the day, see
- 9:33Speaker 4: a human life of a young woman who made a major,
- 9:37Speaker 4: major mistake. Some of those mistakes maybe you don't agree with.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I certainly don't agree with them either. But at the
- 9:43Speaker 4: end of the day, that is still a human being,
- 9:45Speaker 4: a human life who is going through something very traumatizing
- 9:48Speaker 4: right now.
- 9:48Speaker 2: And it's unfortunate.
- 9:50Speaker 4: And quite frankly, Josh, it's out of our hands.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Can you just imagine waking up in the hospital and
- 9:55Speaker 3: being like, am I supposed to be here?
- 9:57Speaker 2: What is happening? Yeah, exactly.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 10:00Speaker 4: People are just clawing at these tickets to go see
- 10:04Speaker 4: Ella Langley at Red Rocks tonight.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And you know what? It's just a totally sold out show.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yesterday we were looking at prices. Somehow someone thought $ 123, 000
- 10:17Speaker 2: ticket was gonna sell, that's never gonna happen.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I mean, 100,000 plus. It doesn't matter the last digits
- 10:23Speaker 3: on that. It is insane how expensive these are going.
- 10:26Speaker 3: And even though that one was an outlier, I mean,
- 10:27Speaker 3: they're still going. I saw like.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Seven or eight tickets.
- 10:31Speaker 1: $ 500, $ 600.
- 10:31Speaker 3: $ 500 will get you in the building, but if you
- 10:33Speaker 3: want to see her or be able to hear her,
- 10:35Speaker 3: like $ 4, 000, $ 5, 000, $ 6, 000.
- 10:36Speaker 5: 100%. Yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 1: So we have those tickets for you.
- 10:38Speaker 2: That's happening today. We're doing a ticket stop.
- 10:43Speaker 4: We're going to be at Zig Zag Burgers in the
- 10:46Speaker 4: Tech Center, I-25 in Arapaho. So make your lunch plans
- 10:49Speaker 4: to be there. We're going to be there noon until 1.
- 10:51Speaker 4: And at 1 o'clock, we are going to draw our winner.
- 10:54Speaker 4: And I just told Josh a little while ago I
- 10:56Speaker 4: brought some stuff to occupy our time to make some bracelets.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I got the turquoise and everything. I love it.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I've never made a friendship bracelet, so I'm excited.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And if anybody else that's going to be there wants
- 11:06Speaker 3: to make one with me, I will gladly do.
- 11:08Speaker 1: It with you guys.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yes. So it'll be a lot of fun either way.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Grab some great food with us over there at Zig
- 11:14Speaker 4: Zag Burgers today, noon until 1. So Josh, a little
- 11:18Speaker 4: while ago, you were just telling me about like time
- 11:21Speaker 4: and space and somehow whiskey is involved. And I'm just like,
- 11:24Speaker 4: first of all, it is too early for all of that.
- 11:27Speaker 1: It absolutely is. But it's so funny. I don't understand.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I love space and it's so funny. I wish people
- 11:33Speaker 1: could hear what we talk about off the air.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's ridiculous.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I just go on tangents and I'm sorry. I'm sure
- 11:38Speaker 1: you hate it, but I do.
- 11:39Speaker 3: But I read this story earlier where, yeah, engineers from,
- 11:42Speaker 3: I believe, Scotland and Japan are coming together and they
- 11:46Speaker 3: are launching whiskey barrels into orbit. And they want to
- 11:50Speaker 3: see how these spirits kind of. age and mature beyond
- 11:54Speaker 3: Earth's atmosphere.
- 11:55Speaker 2: They're trying to age whiskey in space?
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yes, and that's, you brought up a really good question.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Who came up with this?
- 12:01Speaker 1: We're bored, Nina. We are so bored here on Earth.
- 12:04Speaker 1: We have done everything, apparently.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I don't understand, but apparently the farther out you get
- 12:12Speaker 3: from Earth's gravity or any massive thing like the sun
- 12:16Speaker 3: that has gravity, you age slower. So I don't know
- 12:20Speaker 3: if they're shooting these things out like millions of miles
- 12:23Speaker 3: into space to see in 10 years if it's aged
- 12:26Speaker 3: at all or whatever. But I read other things where
- 12:29Speaker 3: it's like people who travel on the International Space Station
- 12:33Speaker 3: when they come back after like a six month span
- 12:36Speaker 3: of being up there.
- 12:36Speaker 1: They're like five milliseconds younger than us.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Right.
- 12:39Speaker 1: So I'm like, OK, so you're. Barrel whiskey is.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Going to be younger than what you want. So why
- 12:45Speaker 4: are we doing this in the first place? And also,
- 12:47Speaker 4: how much money is it costing me as a taxpayer?
- 12:49Speaker 5: A lot.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Honestly, well, as a taxpayer, I think we're good. It's
- 12:53Speaker 3: Scotland and Japan, so those people need to be the
- 12:56Speaker 3: ones upset for this.
- 12:57Speaker 4: So for them, whiskey is this important that we need
- 12:59Speaker 4: to figure out how it ages in space.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I think there's other things, too. They're just trying to
- 13:05Speaker 3: see the opposite, like the extreme temperatures. You know, space
- 13:08Speaker 3: is very cold out there. So they're doing... different things
- 13:12Speaker 3: um one of them said we are really keen uh
- 13:15Speaker 3: to be able to fly a full whiskey barrel out
- 13:18Speaker 3: there and just see what happens it's totally in the
- 13:21Speaker 3: realm of possibility to bring something back like this like
- 13:24Speaker 3: a liter of whiskey within the next couple years here
- 13:27Speaker 3: so i mean truly I don't think they have a
- 13:29Speaker 3: plan with this.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I genuinely think they're just bored.
- 13:32Speaker 3: And then when they do get it back in five years,
- 13:34Speaker 3: they're gonna sell it for a million dollars and be like.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Space-aged whiskey.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:39Speaker 4: The whiskey's not gonna be very good. It's not gonna
- 13:41Speaker 4: be aged very well. It doesn't sound like up there
- 13:44Speaker 4: in space. It just doesn't make sense.
- 13:46Speaker 1: But to the average man.
- 13:47Speaker 4: But, well, yeah, and they're gonna sell it.
- 13:50Speaker 1: They'll put some hair on your chest. Exactly.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Space whiskey, I want some of that.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's going to be able to say I have the
- 13:57Speaker 1: ability to drink it. Yeah, exactly.
- 14:00Speaker 2: My goodness. Three things you need to know before you
- 14:02Speaker 2: go into the office today.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Pokemon Masters are going to be excited about this because
- 14:07Speaker 4: the Pokemon Fossil Museum is going to be coming to Denver.
- 14:12Speaker 4: It's going to be hosted at the Denver Museum of
- 14:14Speaker 4: Nature and Science. And it won't be until next year,
- 14:18Speaker 4: but May of 2027 is when it is going to
- 14:21Speaker 4: open up. So we're really not that far away from it.
- 14:24Speaker 4: And right now it is over there in Chicago. And
- 14:27Speaker 4: so we kind of have already seen all photos and
- 14:30Speaker 4: videos and a sneak peek of it. And it's actually really,
- 14:33Speaker 4: really cool, especially if you're a Pokemon fan.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Well, yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I mean, obviously, I think I've read some things. They
- 14:39Speaker 3: compare Pokemon skeletons to what the real dinosaur that they
- 14:44Speaker 3: were modeled after looked like. Yeah. All that finding stuff.
- 14:46Speaker 3: So you can really nerd out about it.
- 14:48Speaker 7: Oh, for sure.
- 14:48Speaker 3: And then coming in May of 27, I believe, that's
- 14:51Speaker 3: when all the Comic-Cons and other things come here to
- 14:53Speaker 3: Colorado anyway so that's the perfect time to like really
- 14:56Speaker 3: get your.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Nerd on absolutely I didn't even realize so yeah that
- 14:59Speaker 4: is absolutely perfect but yeah they have different skeletons kind
- 15:04Speaker 4: of set up, the fossils, bones of different Pokemon. And
- 15:07Speaker 4: they kind of, they try to keep it true to
- 15:09Speaker 4: size too, because there are some pretty big Pokemon out
- 15:12Speaker 4: there that are supposed to.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Be really big. And so the big ones, they are big.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:18Speaker 2: These massive skulls and stuff like that.
- 15:20Speaker 4: So if you want to be first to buy tickets,
- 15:22Speaker 4: you can sign up on the Denver Museum of Nature
- 15:25Speaker 4: and Science interest list on their website at And then
- 15:28Speaker 4: from there, you'll get emails about early access for tickets,
- 15:31Speaker 4: sneak peeks, and things like that.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I might go to that. Sounds like a fun time.
- 15:34Speaker 2: May of 2027, let's go.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I like it.
- 15:36Speaker 3: All right, well, hey, Google is now analyzing over five
- 15:40Speaker 3: years of flight data to pinpoint when is the cheapest
- 15:44Speaker 3: time to book holiday travel. So we're coming up on
- 15:46Speaker 3: the holidays. Obviously crazy how quickly they're coming. But for Thanksgiving,
- 15:50Speaker 3: the lowest fares appear around a month before the actual departure.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So they say around 34 days is the best time
- 15:57Speaker 3: to pick your price range and try to travel out there.
- 16:00Speaker 1: The best prices.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Range between 21 and 57 days out for the rest
- 16:04Speaker 3: of the holidays. Christmas deals shifted to earlier this year,
- 16:07Speaker 3: around 56 days before departure. So you wanna buy those.
- 16:11Speaker 3: About two months. So that is really, really coming up
- 16:14Speaker 3: here soon. And then they also found out that just
- 16:17Speaker 3: flying on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday saves you about 15%
- 16:20Speaker 3: over weekend flights. So if you can extend that travel
- 16:23Speaker 3: a little bit, you could be saving a lot of
- 16:25Speaker 3: money there, right?
- 16:25Speaker 4: It's like taking another day off of work versus spending
- 16:28Speaker 4: a little bit more money.
- 16:29Speaker 2: It's like take the day off.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Take the day off.
- 16:31Speaker 3: And then they also said the other biggest contributor to
- 16:34Speaker 3: saving some money, skipping those nonstop flights. Now, I understand
- 16:37Speaker 3: a lot of people with young little children.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Oh, come on. I get it.
- 16:41Speaker 3: It's a hassle, and maybe it is worth the extra money.
- 16:44Speaker 3: But skipping nonstop flights saves you like 20% on average.
- 16:49Speaker 1: That's crazy. That's a bit much, and it's definitely noteworthy.
- 16:52Speaker 3: So planning to book on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, and
- 16:55Speaker 3: then unfortunately skipping the nonstop flights, those will save you
- 16:58Speaker 3: around 35%, which is pretty nice.
- 17:00Speaker 2: At the end of the day, it is a lot
- 17:02Speaker 2: of money, so it might be worth it.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Everything is so expensive now, Nina.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I know.
- 17:06Speaker 1: If you can, save where you can't. You know, sometimes
- 17:08Speaker 1: a little five-hour layover in St. Louis isn't the worst
- 17:12Speaker 1: thing in the world, right?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Josh, I don't know if we need to be concerned
- 17:17Speaker 4: about this, but the plague might be making a comeback
- 17:21Speaker 4: right now.
- 17:22Speaker 5: What?
- 17:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 4: So reports from Russia are coming in that a plague
- 17:27Speaker 4: research center scientist had passed away after a plague lab accident.
- 17:33Speaker 4: And the question is, well, did this person pass away
- 17:36Speaker 4: from the plague? And are we in danger of it
- 17:38Speaker 4: kind of spreading?
- 17:39Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:40Speaker 4: And yeah, and the plague specifically that they're dealing with
- 17:42Speaker 4: in this lab in Russia is the pneumonic plague, which
- 17:47Speaker 4: you just kind of breathe in. And this is reminding
- 17:49Speaker 4: me of 2020 and COVID all over again.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'm not doing this again.
- 17:53Speaker 2: No, but here's the good news. Here's the good news.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Okay, Josh, they said with some antibiotics, even if this
- 18:00Speaker 4: were to get out of their laboratory with some antibiotics, you.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Should be good.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 18:06Speaker 2: It should be good. Don't do this again. And they
- 18:08Speaker 2: don't think it's going to spread. They're saying, no, no,
- 18:11Speaker 2: it's fine. It will be fine. But that's also what
- 18:14Speaker 2: they said in 2020.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Quick question. I know we're short on time. Why do
- 18:17Speaker 1: we recreate plagues? I don't know.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Well, they were... Yeah, I don't know.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Why do we test that?
- 18:23Speaker 2: There was a whole lab for it. I don't really know.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I know.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Why do we have labs to recreate plagues, Nina?
- 18:28Speaker 2: I think it's just to create new vaccines and good
- 18:30Speaker 2: things like that. But sometimes... How did.
- 18:33Speaker 1: That go last time?
- 18:33Speaker 2: Sometimes things happen. Yeah, I know.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It's fine. Happy Wednesday.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Everything's fine. Don't worry about it.
- 18:40Speaker 4: But just so you know, the plague, it's running around
- 18:43Speaker 4: over there in Russia.
- 18:43Speaker 2: But I'm sure it will be fine over here in
- 18:45Speaker 2: the States.
- 18:45Speaker 1: It's back, baby.
- 18:46Speaker 2: No, don't worry about it. We're going to be fine.
- 18:49Speaker 2: You know what is annoying, Josh? The fact that people
- 18:53Speaker 2: are starting to take their pets trick-or-treating, door-to-door, knock on
- 18:59Speaker 2: the door, get candy for yourself.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Okay, okay, hold on.
- 19:04Speaker 3: So this isn't taking your four-year-old kid who's excited to
- 19:08Speaker 3: dress up and get candy and your pet. This is
- 19:11Speaker 3: you dressing up with your pet alone.
- 19:13Speaker 4: And just bringing your pet trick-or-treating because you want to
- 19:16Speaker 4: join in on that fun, and you're bringing your pet
- 19:18Speaker 4: with you because.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So you're an adult getting the candy?
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 6: Okay.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Huh.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 4: This is becoming more and more popular, and so it
- 19:26Speaker 4: started off actually with pet stores.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Pet stores did their own dog... trick-or-treat.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Events with little dog treats and things like that.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And so an event like that, I'm like, okay, maybe.
- 19:42Speaker 4: But it has evolved now where people are like, let
- 19:46Speaker 4: me just do this in my neighborhood and let me
- 19:48Speaker 4: dress up my dog.
- 19:49Speaker 2: It's real cute. And we'll take my dog trick or treating.
- 19:52Speaker 3: I'm torn here because it is cute. It is cute
- 19:54Speaker 3: to see your little puppers dressed up.
- 19:55Speaker 5: It is.
- 19:56Speaker 3: However, I will say Colorado is also probably the best
- 19:59Speaker 3: state to do it in. Everybody and their mom has
- 20:00Speaker 3: a dog.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:01Speaker 3: However, There are people like me. I don't own a
- 20:04Speaker 3: pet right now. I'm not home enough, and I live alone.
- 20:07Speaker 3: There's no real reason for me to do that. So
- 20:10Speaker 3: you show up at my door with you and your pet,
- 20:11Speaker 3: I'm petting both of you.
- 20:13Speaker 1: That's it. That's all you're getting. You're not getting candy
- 20:15Speaker 1: from me as an adult. I'm sorry. I'm not handing
- 20:16Speaker 1: you a full-size Twix bar.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Right.
- 20:18Speaker 2: No, for sure.
- 20:20Speaker 4: And not everyone is going to have pet treats to
- 20:22Speaker 4: give away.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I don't have that.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Because this is not a usual, typical thing.
- 20:26Speaker 4: And then on top of that, chocolate is really.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Bad for dogs.
- 20:30Speaker 1: So I've heard.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Right.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yes. You don't want to do that.
- 20:33Speaker 4: And if you're just a full blown adult coming to
- 20:35Speaker 4: my door to trick or treat, I don't know. Part
- 20:37Speaker 4: of me is like, I feel like everyone should be
- 20:39Speaker 4: able to trick or treat. But then another part of
- 20:41Speaker 4: me is like, is this weird?
- 20:44Speaker 1: Is this weird?
- 20:45Speaker 5: It is.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yes. As an adult, you go to parties and dress up.
- 20:48Speaker 1: You don't trick or treat. Right. And like I said,
- 20:51Speaker 1: you come to me with your dog, I'm petting you
- 20:52Speaker 1: both behind the ear.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Like, I'm going to make it really weird because that's weird.
- 20:55Speaker 1: That is weird.
- 20:56Speaker 2: You know what, Josh?
- 20:57Speaker 4: I think there are people that would pay to have
- 20:59Speaker 4: them pet behind their ear by you.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Don't make it weirder. Oh, yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 4: An influencer made a post about Justin Timberlake's beatboxing back
- 21:07Speaker 4: in the day saying that we don't talk about it
- 21:10Speaker 4: enough and there were way too many.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Boots and cats and boots and cats and boots and cats.
- 21:15Speaker 2: You said that? So, yes.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Well, he didn't say that, but she's like making fun
- 21:20Speaker 2: of his whole beatboxing thing.
- 21:20Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 21:22Speaker 2: So it went viral. This video went viral.
- 21:24Speaker 4: And Justin Timberlake himself saw it and actually responded to it.
- 21:29Speaker 4: And he apologized for it. He said, I often look
- 21:32Speaker 4: back on that time as well.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I don't know how to apologize enough for whatever those
- 21:36Speaker 2: ambitions were. Too many boots, too many cats. I hope
- 21:40Speaker 2: you can forgive me.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Which is nice to get that apology from Justin Timberlake
- 21:43Speaker 4: because a lot of people were scarred from his beatboxing
- 21:46Speaker 4: back in the day. But then he ended this message saying, also,
- 21:52Speaker 4: I can't promise I won't do it again.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Well, I liked.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Did you like it?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Some of it.
- 21:59Speaker 3: He did a couple cringy performances way back in the
- 22:03Speaker 3: early 2000s that you were like, okay.
- 22:06Speaker 1: When he's like, it's Timber, Timber, Timberlake. I'm like, okay.
- 22:08Speaker 1: We don't need to... We don't need to do that again.
- 22:11Speaker 3: But I like, he beatboxes in his song Mirrors, and
- 22:14Speaker 3: I love that. And I'm like, if you do it
- 22:16Speaker 3: behind the mic, sure.
- 22:19Speaker 4: So here's the thing, is he does have a rumored
- 22:21Speaker 4: project coming up in 2027.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Oh, cool.
- 22:24Speaker 4: And now that this went viral, and enough people have
- 22:27Speaker 4: talked about his beatboxing, I wonder if he will bring
- 22:30Speaker 4: it back.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Why not? I mean, now it's, like I said, just
- 22:33Speaker 1: don't do it in person. It's a little weird and cringey.
- 22:35Speaker 2: In person it is so cringey. Like you said, during
- 22:38Speaker 2: a song, maybe.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But it's a talent. I mean, beatboxing is a talent.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Not everybody can do that. It totally is. Good for him.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I'm a JT fan, so I like hearing him when
- 22:46Speaker 3: we can. This is major news here. The $ 111 billion
- 22:52Speaker 3: merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. and Skydance has finally closed.
- 22:58Speaker 6: Crazy.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Disclosed yesterday, forming a new company called Skydance. It is
- 23:04Speaker 3: now owning, or no, excuse me, it now owns CBS, CNN,
- 23:09Speaker 3: HBO Max, Paramount Plus, and more on top of that.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Crazy. And Mr.
- 23:14Speaker 3: David Ellison, who's only 43 years old, is now serving
- 23:17Speaker 3: as the chair and CEO of this entire thing.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Wow.
- 23:20Speaker 3: The company begins trading. It's all blah, blah, blah. But however, Nina,
- 23:24Speaker 3: this is kind of the sad part here. Because of
- 23:26Speaker 3: this massive merger and everything that has gone into it,
- 23:28Speaker 3: this has been months of being drawn out here. They
- 23:31Speaker 3: threatened to leave California, all this other stuff, right?
- 23:34Speaker 1: Huge, huge thing.
- 23:35Speaker 3: After all of that and the $ 111 billion merger again,
- 23:39Speaker 3: they're expecting mass layoffs.
- 23:41Speaker 2: What?
- 23:41Speaker 3: And I guess I don't understand this, to be honest.
- 23:46Speaker 3: So much money is involved here, and they're going to
- 23:48Speaker 3: be making so much money. I understand that maybe there
- 23:50Speaker 3: are some things of like, hey, let's clean up a
- 23:52Speaker 3: few areas here and there.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I think with so many companies coming together, there's
- 23:57Speaker 4: multiple people in the same job title. And if they're
- 24:00Speaker 4: all coming together, then you don't need that many people
- 24:04Speaker 4: doing the same job.
- 24:05Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 24:06Speaker 3: And it's such a big thing. Anytime anybody loses their job,
- 24:09Speaker 3: it's the worst.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I mean, I hate it.
- 24:10Speaker 6: I hate it.
- 24:11Speaker 3: It's so hard to live right now without making money.
- 24:13Speaker 3: So I get that. But you'd think that with.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Like, I just named four, five, six different things here
- 24:20Speaker 1: all coming together, companies.
- 24:22Speaker 2: They have enough money.
- 24:22Speaker 1: And then they said, and more.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So who else is coming together? Why wouldn't they just
- 24:26Speaker 1: be able to use all these workers, you know?
- 24:28Speaker 2: That's true.
- 24:28Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 24:29Speaker 2: That's a bummer that it's coming out of this merger.
- 24:32Speaker 2: It is.
- 24:32Speaker 3: But, I mean, finally we can kind of put this
- 24:34Speaker 3: whole thing to rest. I mean, this has been big
- 24:36Speaker 3: news for the last couple months here now. So the
- 24:39Speaker 3: merger is officially complete, and someone's getting a lot of
- 24:42Speaker 3: money to be in charge of that.
- 24:43Speaker 2: There you go. And Hayden Panettiere's ex, it's so hard
- 24:48Speaker 2: to say his name, Vladimir Klitschko, I think.
- 24:51Speaker 1: That was not bad.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Vladimir Klitschko.
- 24:53Speaker 1: That was not bad at all.
- 24:54Speaker 4: He is taking full guardianship over he and Hayden's child,
- 24:59Speaker 4: their 11-year-old daughter, to help figure out her estate, because
- 25:02Speaker 4: there was no will when Hayden passed away, and so
- 25:05Speaker 4: everything is going to her daughter. But to help protect
- 25:09Speaker 4: his daughter and go through all of these assets, As
- 25:12Speaker 4: he is going through the motions of everything, he is
- 25:14Speaker 4: already saying there's stuff missing.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure.
- 25:17Speaker 4: There is stuff missing, and it is mainly jewelry that he.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Is noticing right now, of course.
- 25:22Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 25:23Speaker 2: He thinks that someone outside of Hayden's family took the
- 25:27Speaker 2: jewelry and pawned it for money, and him saying it's
- 25:30Speaker 2: someone outside of Hayden's family, that makes me think that
- 25:33Speaker 2: he's pointing fingers to her boyfriend that she was dating
- 25:36Speaker 2: when she passed away. And, yeah, so he contacted a
- 25:42Speaker 2: local pawn shop that he thinks may have some of
- 25:44Speaker 2: this jewelry, and they're actually ghosting him right now. They're
- 25:47Speaker 2: not responding to him.
- 25:48Speaker 4: They said, unless you have police involved, we're staying far away.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Which I understand because it is messy already. I get that. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And maybe they do have something, and maybe they've already
- 25:58Speaker 1: sold something. You never know.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:00Speaker 3: But that's such a bummer to be that scummy of
- 26:02Speaker 3: a person that your poor girlfriend, you And you're a
- 26:07Speaker 3: little klepto, and you just grab the jewelry, and you're like,
- 26:09Speaker 3: I can make some money off of this?
- 26:10Speaker 2: Potentially. Potentially.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Now, we don't know that fingers are being pointed directly
- 26:15Speaker 4: at her boyfriend.
- 26:16Speaker 1: All alleged.
- 26:17Speaker 2: It's all alleged.
- 26:18Speaker 4: But whoever took it, Hayden's ex-boyfriend, just doesn't believe that
- 26:23Speaker 4: it is anyone in Hayden's family because they haven't really
- 26:25Speaker 4: been around her house or her assets or anything like that.
- 26:28Speaker 4: So it's just really unfortunate, yeah, that he's literally like
- 26:32Speaker 4: it's all at a pawn shop right now.
- 26:33Speaker 3: What an odd situation, and I don't like how we
- 26:36Speaker 3: can't just kind of celebrate Hayden's life and everything that
- 26:38Speaker 3: she accomplished. It's been so messy. Between her and Dolly Parton,
- 26:42Speaker 3: it has gotten so flippin' messy.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Seriously.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Seriously.
- 26:45Speaker 1: With what is going on after their deaths.
- 26:48Speaker 3: I mean, I don't like it.
- 26:49Speaker 1: It's not a good look.
- 26:50Speaker 2: It's really not. It's just terrible.
- 26:53Speaker 4: It's very sad, like you said. Three things you need
- 26:55Speaker 4: to know before you go into the office today. Like,
- 26:57Speaker 4: if you are looking for your soulmate, it's right over
- 26:59Speaker 4: there in Rhino.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Easy. Really?
- 27:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Okay, that was easy.
- 27:04Speaker 2: So there's a new art installation.
- 27:06Speaker 4: It's helping you find your person, and it's called the
- 27:09Speaker 4: Soulmate Booth.
- 27:10Speaker 2: What? This is a photo booth. You pay $ 10, you
- 27:14Speaker 2: go into it, and there's a camera and there's a telephone.
- 27:18Speaker 2: So you pick up this pay phone and it will
- 27:20Speaker 2: ask you questions. Simple things like, do you like pineapple
- 27:24Speaker 2: on pizza? And then you answer it. And while you're
- 27:27Speaker 2: answering all these different questions, it'll take candid, really cutesy
- 27:31Speaker 2: photos of you. And afterwards, it develops your photos into
- 27:36Speaker 2: a photo strip. And then it spits out a second
- 27:39Speaker 2: photo strip. of your soulmate who answered like you did
- 27:43Speaker 2: on those questions.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Okay, wait, I love this.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Yeah, so this way you have their picture, you know
- 27:49Speaker 4: that they at some point have been in Rhino at
- 27:51Speaker 4: that exact photo booth. That's the only way you can
- 27:54Speaker 4: get the photo is basically you have to submit yourself
- 27:57Speaker 4: and then you have to go out and find that soulmate.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Maybe you post it on social media, maybe you ask
- 28:02Speaker 4: your friends, does anyone know this person? We think alike,
- 28:05Speaker 4: I don't know, they're kinda cute, I see them in
- 28:07Speaker 4: this photo. And yeah, you go to the soulmate booth
- 28:10Speaker 4: over there in Rhino and you can play along and
- 28:13Speaker 4: have some fun with it.
- 28:13Speaker 3: I like this because it is kind of in a
- 28:16Speaker 3: weird roundabout way offering up a real in-person interaction. You
- 28:21Speaker 3: can't DM this person, you can't slide into the DMs,
- 28:23Speaker 3: because you have to find this person, you know?
- 28:25Speaker 1: And it's kind of a scavenger hunt. For a human being.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Yes, and I like that it's not random people, it's
- 28:31Speaker 4: not AI-generated people, it's not people in another state.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Someone was actually there.
- 28:35Speaker 4: They had to have sat there, but in that photo
- 28:38Speaker 4: booth as well, and answered the same questions you did.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I love this.
- 28:42Speaker 4: You can find it in Rhino. It's at Larimer and 30th.
- 28:45Speaker 4: And this has actually become so popular that they're going
- 28:47Speaker 4: to do a second one over in Sloan's Lake soon.
- 28:51Speaker 1: No way.
- 28:52Speaker 5: Yes.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Okay. So many photo booths are coming all over Denver.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I want to try this. I like that a lot.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Can we do it even if we're in a... You
- 28:58Speaker 1: should do it too, Nina.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I'm married. I can't pop up on someone's photo strip.
- 29:04Speaker 1: No, I'm not saying have fun. Okay, hold on. Let
- 29:05Speaker 1: me rephrase that. Let me rephrase that. Hold on, hold on,
- 29:08Speaker 1: hold on. I'm biting my tongue.
- 29:09Speaker 2: My husband is going to give you a phone call.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I am so sorry, Nina's husband. That is not what
- 29:14Speaker 3: I meant. I meant have fun and take pictures in
- 29:15Speaker 3: the photo booth.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That's it.
- 29:18Speaker 4: I don't want to skew the system. I don't want
- 29:21Speaker 4: to go in the photo booth because I am not available.
- 29:23Speaker 4: I found my soulmate already.
- 29:24Speaker 6: I like it.
- 29:26Speaker 2: You guys are so cute.
- 29:27Speaker 5: That's so cute.
- 29:27Speaker 3: All right, moving on before I get my butt kicked. Okay,
- 29:30Speaker 3: this is interesting. We have had so many different talks
- 29:33Speaker 3: about whether the U.S. wants to push for permanent daylight
- 29:36Speaker 3: saving time or whether it's the best way to just
- 29:39Speaker 3: keep the two closets clocks the way they are right now.
- 29:42Speaker 3: I know right now the president is trying to push
- 29:43Speaker 3: for daylight savings time. The interesting thing about this, there
- 29:47Speaker 3: are a whole bunch of researchers who just reviewed this
- 29:50Speaker 3: existing evidence right now and concluded that permanent standard time
- 29:55Speaker 3: is the healthier choice for permanent save, like if you're
- 29:59Speaker 3: gonna keep one or the other, okay?
- 30:01Speaker 1: So this is odd. If you're thinking about daylight savings time,
- 30:04Speaker 1: that is where we spring forward, right? Okay, so.
- 30:08Speaker 3: This is so interesting about where it affects people, especially
- 30:12Speaker 3: in the north where winter sunrises will be well past 8.30
- 30:16Speaker 3: in the morning. Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 1: And they're like, that's not healthy for you. No.
- 30:19Speaker 3: The whole city essentially will wake up later. It disrupts
- 30:22Speaker 3: the body's internal clock. Studies also are linking later sunrises to...
- 30:28Speaker 3: this is sad, but higher mortality rates.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Oh, interesting. Which is going along with seasonal depression and
- 30:33Speaker 1: things like that.
- 30:33Speaker 2: I think I've heard that before, yeah.
- 30:35Speaker 3: It also reduces your sleep. When we reduce sleep, that
- 30:37Speaker 3: also presses depression on us. There's a whole thing working
- 30:42Speaker 3: along with this. And one analysis found that the extra
- 30:44Speaker 3: hour of later sunlight cut weekly sleep by nearly half
- 30:48Speaker 3: an hour and long-term sleep earnings by 5%. Teens and
- 30:53Speaker 3: early shift workers face the greatest risk, they say. The U.S., Russia,
- 30:56Speaker 3: and Chile say all tried permanent daylight saving times at
- 30:59Speaker 3: one time or another and reversed it.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Following public backlash.
- 31:02Speaker 7: Interesting.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So I'm like, okay, let's.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Learn from history and understand that there are positives to,
- 31:07Speaker 3: I know it gets darker earlier, but the sun rising
- 31:10Speaker 3: earlier is like literally beneficial to our mental health.
- 31:13Speaker 2: It's good for you.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So I like that we're doing this. You and I
- 31:15Speaker 1: have talked about it before. We're in favor of it.
- 31:17Speaker 3: We like, it getting dark earlier around Christmas time, and
- 31:20Speaker 3: you can see the Christmas lights, and then we can
- 31:22Speaker 3: go to bed earlier, you and I. But I think
- 31:24Speaker 3: that's really interesting to see that there are actual health
- 31:27Speaker 3: benefits to keeping the clocks the.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Way they are.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that is interesting. And like you said, it's a
- 31:32Speaker 4: big topic of discussion right now, so who knew?
- 31:34Speaker 1: I know, I had no idea.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Standard time, it's better for you.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Learn something new every day.
- 31:37Speaker 2: There you go.
- 31:38Speaker 4: And Congress had to get involved with dating apps to
- 31:41Speaker 4: hold them accountable for dating scams that happen on their platforms.
- 31:46Speaker 4: So this is a whole new legal bill that went through.
- 31:49Speaker 4: It's called the Romance Scam Prevention Act. It was put
- 31:52Speaker 4: into place where dating apps have to notify any users
- 31:56Speaker 4: that were communicating with an account that was banned or
- 32:00Speaker 4: deleted for fraudulent activity.
- 32:03Speaker 2: So this alerts people who.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Might have had conversations go well on the app, but
- 32:07Speaker 4: then you give them your phone number or your WhatsApp
- 32:10Speaker 4: or whatever, and you're talking separately off of the app.
- 32:13Speaker 4: But then you get a notification that, hey, this person
- 32:16Speaker 4: has been deleted from our platform because they were scamming people.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Just so you're aware, do what you're going to do.
- 32:23Speaker 4: But they have to now notify people if you've been talking.
- 32:27Speaker 2: with a fraudulent account, which this is a good thing because.
- 32:30Speaker 1: It's a huge thing.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah. The scams go for these dating apps for sure.
- 32:35Speaker 3: And I hate to say it, but we all think, hey,
- 32:37Speaker 3: we're never going to fall for it. But these scammers
- 32:38Speaker 3: are good. They know exactly what they're doing. And when
- 32:40Speaker 3: you're looking for love, you're vulnerable.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 32:42Speaker 1: You put yourself in those positions. So good. I think
- 32:45Speaker 1: this is a really positive thing.
- 32:46Speaker 4: I think so too. Josh, the other day, you know,
- 32:48Speaker 4: I'm going through the socials. I go Instagram, then TikTok,
- 32:52Speaker 4: sometimes Facebook, back to Instagram, then TikTok again, then Instagram again.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I always start with Instagram, too. It's funny you said that.
- 32:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I think that's a millennial thing.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it probably is. We like to see pictures.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 33:04Speaker 4: But then as I'm going through, all of a sudden
- 33:06Speaker 4: I got a notification that I got a DM. And
- 33:09Speaker 4: this woman in Thornton, she has some major drama in
- 33:13Speaker 4: her life. And she felt the need to ask me
- 33:17Speaker 4: for some advice, which I'm a girl's girl.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I'm here to help you out for sure.
- 33:21Speaker 4: But she started talking about her husband and this work
- 33:25Speaker 4: wife and a situation going.
- 33:27Speaker 2: On between them.
- 33:28Speaker 4: And I was like, ooh, so we're kind of getting
- 33:31Speaker 4: into it, sending messages back and forth.
- 33:33Speaker 2: And she's giving me the story.
- 33:34Speaker 4: And then finally, she's like, let me just send you
- 33:36Speaker 4: a voice note because it's so much easier than texting, right? Always.
- 33:40Speaker 2: So she sent me this voice note.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Listen.
- 33:42Speaker 5: So I was okay with my husband having female work
- 33:44Speaker 5: friends until she started raiding my closet.
- 33:47Speaker 2: And I'm just like, what?
- 33:52Speaker 1: She was in her closet?
- 33:53Speaker 2: Whose closet? Someone's closet.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 33:56Speaker 4: So after 8 o'clock, we're going to call Lauren and
- 33:59Speaker 4: Thornton and we're going.
- 34:00Speaker 2: To get the tea because... I need to figure out
- 34:02Speaker 2: this drama.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Oh, we got her. I love this.
- 34:04Speaker 4: And she needs some advice at the end of it.
- 34:06Speaker 4: So you got to listen in. It's What's the Drama?
- 34:10Speaker 4: And it's going to be coming up right after Benson
- 34:11Speaker 4: Boone just at 8 o'clock because we got to break
- 34:14Speaker 4: this down.
- 34:14Speaker 2: It sounds serious.
- 34:16Speaker 1: It's very intriguing. I love this.
- 34:18Speaker 2: A marriage may be on the line. Keep it here
- 34:21Speaker 2: with Mix 100.
- 34:22Speaker 6: Save the drama for your mama oh my god oh
- 34:25Speaker 6: my god or for denver's morning show i guess.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I love all the drama what's the drama today what's
- 34:32Speaker 2: the drama today do it for the drama here's nina
- 34:36Speaker 2: and josh lauren and thornton we heard that you're having
- 34:39Speaker 2: issues with your husband and his work.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Wife yeah that can easily get pretty darn messy.
- 34:45Speaker 5: So what's going on lauren Okay, so my husband has
- 34:48Speaker 5: this girl he works with, and I've never really cared
- 34:50Speaker 5: about her because he's been at this job for like
- 34:53Speaker 5: four years. They're friends, whatever. But last weekend, we were
- 34:57Speaker 5: all at a dinner, and he mentioned something about my
- 35:00Speaker 5: mom's surgery that I had literally just told my husband
- 35:04Speaker 5: about that morning.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Okay, so you're not cool with sharing things like that.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I mean, no, I was clearly a little shocked, and
- 35:12Speaker 5: my husband noticed, and he kept the conversation going and
- 35:14Speaker 5: tried to change the subject, but that's personal stuff not
- 35:17Speaker 5: appropriate for dinner. Mm-hmm. But then later that night, she
- 35:21Speaker 5: had the audacity to text my husband at like 10
- 35:23Speaker 5: o'clock at night and says, hope your mom-in-law is doing okay.
- 35:28Speaker 5: I was like, excuse me? Like, what does she know
- 35:30Speaker 5: about my mom?
- 35:31Speaker 1: Okay, but I mean, I'm also sure that like he
- 35:34Speaker 1: mentioned something at work in passing, right?
- 35:36Speaker 5: I mean, I guess, but then I started to think
- 35:38Speaker 5: about it and she knows so much. She knew we
- 35:42Speaker 5: were going to Mexico before we posted anything. She knew
- 35:45Speaker 5: we were having issues with our house before I even
- 35:48Speaker 5: told my friends. And she even knew that I got
- 35:51Speaker 5: a new job.
- 35:52Speaker 6: Wow.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Yeah. It sounds like she knows a lot about your life.
- 35:56Speaker 4: Have you talked to your husband about, like, how much
- 35:58Speaker 4: he is talking to this girl and spilling everything about
- 36:01Speaker 4: your life?
- 36:02Speaker 5: Yes. I mean, he got really defensive and said I
- 36:05Speaker 5: was being jealous.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Ugh.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Now I'm wondering, am I being jealous or does this
- 36:11Speaker 5: woman know more about my relationship than some of my
- 36:13Speaker 5: friends do?
- 36:14Speaker 1: I love the old jealous blame right there. Yeah, that's
- 36:16Speaker 1: not a good look.
- 36:17Speaker 2: No, for sure.
- 36:18Speaker 5: And here's the worst part. I looked at her Instagram
- 36:21Speaker 5: and she had a picture from a work happy hour
- 36:23Speaker 5: and she's wearing his jacket.
- 36:27Speaker 3: What?
- 36:28Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 36:30Speaker 4: One thing about a woman is she's definitely going to
- 36:33Speaker 4: go to the Instagram first for all the receipts.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Yep.
- 36:43Speaker 4: I mean, at dinner, I'm the one who would have
- 36:46Speaker 4: been pulling up that photo while I was right in
- 36:49Speaker 4: front of the both of them because hell no!
- 36:52Speaker 1: Okay, okay.
- 36:52Speaker 3: I mean, as a guy, you have to be a gentleman.
- 36:55Speaker 3: So maybe a devil's advocate here, he was just being nice?
- 36:58Speaker 5: Nice?
- 36:59Speaker 2: Too nice, Josh.
- 37:01Speaker 4: I mean, the text line is blowing up right now.
- 37:03Speaker 4: So in case you missed it.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yeah. There's so many mixed emotions here.
- 37:08Speaker 2: There really are. So we're talking with Lauren and Thorin.
- 37:10Speaker 4: She DM'd me about a situation with her husband and
- 37:13Speaker 4: his work wife. And his work wife posted an Instagram wearing...
- 37:18Speaker 4: her husband's jacket.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Not okay.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Not okay. And they're very close. And this woman already
- 37:23Speaker 4: knows a little too much about their lives.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Or Nina, was it just a work event? It gets
- 37:28Speaker 3: cold there. She was like, hey, I'm freezing. And he's
- 37:30Speaker 3: just being a good guy. Well, because a lot of
- 37:32Speaker 3: times good guys get caught in the act in that
- 37:35Speaker 3: moment and it looks bad.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Okay.
- 37:37Speaker 2: But it's not.
- 37:39Speaker 4: But Josh, let's break this down a little bit because
- 37:43Speaker 4: we did get a text on our text line, which
- 37:45Speaker 4: By the way, you can call or text us about this, 303-691-1MIX.
- 37:48Speaker 4: I got this text message that just kills your theory
- 37:53Speaker 4: right then and there.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Okay, let's hear it.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Ashley says, let's be so for real right now. It's
- 37:58Speaker 4: not even cold in Denver.
- 38:00Speaker 2: We're literally going through a heat wave. She wants your man.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Stop all of this right now.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Well, okay.
- 38:05Speaker 6: Hello?
- 38:06Speaker 2: She's so right. It's going to be 90 today.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 38:09Speaker 3: I bring a winter jacket to our office every day
- 38:12Speaker 3: because it's freezing inside because we got the AC pumping through.
- 38:16Speaker 2: That's different.
- 38:17Speaker 1: And it's the same at a bar. I guarantee it.
- 38:19Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Well, that's funny because did you see Aaron's text right here?
- 38:22Speaker 3: Aaron is the polar opposite and goes essentially- Look, it's
- 38:25Speaker 3: just a hoodie, jacket, whatever.
- 38:27Speaker 1: He thinks it's a hoodie.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I'm sure she's just cold. And it's at a work event.
- 38:31Speaker 3: It's not just one on one. Let them be. It's OK.
- 38:36Speaker 1: This is such a slippery slope. So give me a second.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I think.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Automatically right off the bat, you have to let it
- 38:43Speaker 3: go initially and just be like, hey, look, there is
- 38:45Speaker 3: no other evidence.
- 38:47Speaker 2: No.
- 38:47Speaker 1: That they're doing anything more.
- 38:49Speaker 2: No, Josh.
- 38:51Speaker 1: They're not. You can't just always, it's not guilty until
- 38:54Speaker 1: proven innocent.
- 38:55Speaker 2: You don't know that, first of all. In a woman's intuition,
- 38:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry, it is rarely wrong. Sometimes it's wrong. It
- 39:01Speaker 2: is rarely wrong, okay?
- 39:04Speaker 4: And if your husband, this isn't a boyfriend you're dating
- 39:06Speaker 4: for a couple of months, your husband that you are
- 39:10Speaker 4: dedicating each other's lives to.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I agree. I agree, and I don't think there's any
- 39:14Speaker 1: room for funny business.
- 39:15Speaker 2: And they're getting close with another person. That's not okay.
- 39:19Speaker 3: So chivalry's just dead then? You can't give a cold
- 39:22Speaker 3: woman a jacket anymore?
- 39:23Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 39:24Speaker 4: I mean, we got another text that says, this is
- 39:26Speaker 4: very sketchy to be wearing another man's jacket. if I
- 39:30Speaker 4: was her I wouldn't like it at all and I
- 39:32Speaker 4: would let my husband know that this is way past
- 39:34Speaker 4: my boundaries and as a married couple I agree you
- 39:38Speaker 4: know you have to talk about those boundaries and hey
- 39:40Speaker 4: if you make a mistake okay but he got defensive
- 39:44Speaker 4: right away as soon as his wife brought this.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Up to him I don't think defensive automatically, I know
- 39:49Speaker 3: that can look bad, but I don't think defensive automatically
- 39:52Speaker 3: means guilty. I mean, this is the other one. We
- 39:54Speaker 3: got one from 720327 right here. Men and women are
- 39:57Speaker 3: totally capable of being just friends. As long as neither
- 40:00Speaker 3: one of them, the Rocky Mountain Rumble, as long as
- 40:03Speaker 3: no one wants to do that, then it's fine.
- 40:06Speaker 1: And just keep it at coworkers and end it there.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I like that.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Okay, but why are you taking my husband's jacket? Ask
- 40:13Speaker 2: someone else. No, or get like a hot toddy or something.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I mean, Nina, would it be.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Is it the worst thing in the world if I
- 40:20Speaker 3: gave you my jacket if you were cold at an
- 40:22Speaker 3: event we have to go to?
- 40:24Speaker 7: I mean.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I guess not, but at the same time.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Thank you, strictly coworker.
- 40:29Speaker 2: No, but if you're at an event or you're doing
- 40:31Speaker 2: something and you know it gets colder in the evening,
- 40:33Speaker 2: bring your own jacket.
- 40:34Speaker 7: Obviously, yes.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Don't ask a married man to ask for his jacket.
- 40:38Speaker 1: And I'm with you on that. I am with you
- 40:39Speaker 1: on that.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I think it's maybe inappropriate to even ask for that.
- 40:44Speaker 3: I'm trying to be like there are good men out
- 40:48Speaker 3: there that... Don't want to have affairs and just are
- 40:51Speaker 3: being nice. That's that's my point.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry to be this person
- 40:56Speaker 2: right now. And I'm sorry to all the good men
- 40:58Speaker 2: in Denver. I am getting that is a rarity.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Yell that on the text.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:04Speaker 4: I mean, we have so many women coming out of
- 41:05Speaker 4: the woodworks of they've had so many things going on.
- 41:09Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 41:11Speaker 3: It's.
- 41:12Speaker 1: This is so interesting.
- 41:13Speaker 2: We're getting a phone call right now about this. Should
- 41:14Speaker 2: we answer it?
- 41:15Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Oh, gosh, I'm scared. This is live radio.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 41:19Speaker 5: All right.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Good morning. Who is this?
- 41:21Speaker 8: Stacey.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Hi, Stacey.
- 41:24Speaker 2: It's Nina and Josh on Mix 100.
- 41:27Speaker 4: We're talking about this situation where Lauren and Thornton, you
- 41:31Speaker 4: heard it. She's wondering, is it inappropriate for her husband's
- 41:35Speaker 4: work wife to be posting Instagrams and wearing her husband's jacket?
- 41:39Speaker 2: What do you got to say about it?
- 41:45Speaker 7: I don't really do the Instagram things, but I do
- 41:47Speaker 7: have kind of like a work husband. Okay. We do
- 41:51Speaker 7: have like meetings and places that have the AC unpredictable.
- 41:57Speaker 7: Like it's either hot or.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 41:59Speaker 7: Or you're freezing.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I know. So wait, hold on.
- 42:01Speaker 7: And I can definitely see him offering me his jacket.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 42:04Speaker 7: I've definitely been offered like hats in the past when
- 42:06Speaker 7: I've had migraines and stuff. Like people have given me
- 42:09Speaker 7: pieces of their clothing.
- 42:10Speaker 3: And you have never gone farther than anything that work related, correct?
- 42:14Speaker 5: No.
- 42:15Speaker 7: No.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I'm just saying like it's you. OK, you hit the
- 42:18Speaker 3: nail on the head there. And I am so happy
- 42:20Speaker 3: because I I'm not saying they're having an affair at all.
- 42:24Speaker 3: And I like that you're like, hey, men can be
- 42:26Speaker 3: nice at work. And that's where the line stops.
- 42:29Speaker 7: Yeah, I have no aspirations for anything other than friendship.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Well, that's you. It doesn't mean it's the same for
- 42:36Speaker 2: everyone is all I'm saying.
- 42:38Speaker 4: And it's this woman is already very close to them.
- 42:41Speaker 4: They're going to dinners. asking about the mother-in-law, just talking
- 42:46Speaker 4: about all sorts of things in their relationship that Lauren
- 42:49Speaker 4: was like, how do you even know that?
- 42:51Speaker 2: My husband's talking to you too much. How do you
- 42:53Speaker 2: feel about that?
- 42:54Speaker 4: Besides the jacket, how do you feel about him having
- 42:57Speaker 4: this work wife bestie where he really is opening up
- 42:59Speaker 4: about a lot in their lives?
- 43:01Speaker 2: Oh, I think we lost her.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Did we lose her?
- 43:03Speaker 2: I think so. That's okay.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Sorry, Stacey.
- 43:05Speaker 2: That's okay. But thank you, Stacey, for calling in.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I think we need to continue this a little bit.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do it.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Let's push the Celebrity Quickie just a little. And after
- 43:15Speaker 4: Charlie Puth, we're going to answer more of your phone
- 43:16Speaker 4: calls because people are calling in. If you've got opinions,
- 43:19Speaker 4: big ones, call us.
- 43:20Speaker 2: 303-691-1MIX.
- 43:22Speaker 4: We want to hear from you right after Charlie Puth.
- 43:25Speaker 4: We're going to continue you to talk about this because...
- 43:28Speaker 4: Josh and I, we don't see eye to eye on
- 43:30Speaker 4: this at all.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Wow, wow, wow.
- 43:33Speaker 4: It is Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh. And
- 43:36Speaker 4: we are getting some major responses all over the place
- 43:39Speaker 4: on the text line, as well as some phone calls
- 43:42Speaker 4: about this situation with Lauren and Thornton, her husband's work wife.
- 43:46Speaker 4: Just knows too much about their life. Next thing you know,
- 43:49Speaker 4: she's posted on Instagram where she is wearing her husband's jacket.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And Lauren isn't cool with that.
- 43:56Speaker 4: So let's answer a couple of these phone calls that
- 43:58Speaker 4: we got coming in.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Jessica, good morning from Nina and Josh. How are you
- 44:04Speaker 4: doing today?
- 44:06Speaker 8: I'm good. How are you?
- 44:07Speaker 2: We're good. And we're a little.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Bit heated because Josh and I are not seeing eye
- 44:11Speaker 4: to eye on this whole thing.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Josh thinks he's just being a gentleman.
- 44:14Speaker 3: We're not always looking for the other thing.
- 44:17Speaker 1: We're not.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Offering his jacket. But what do you think, Jessica? How
- 44:21Speaker 4: are you feeling about this whole situation?
- 44:23Speaker 8: So I think she's overreacting, and I think it's based
- 44:26Speaker 8: on kind of a double standard that we have, that
- 44:28Speaker 8: we don't expect men to have close relationships. Thank you.
- 44:33Speaker 8: If she was telling her male coworker about their trip
- 44:36Speaker 8: to Mexico and their family's medical stuff and all that stuff,
- 44:39Speaker 8: no one would even blink an eye. But because he's
- 44:41Speaker 8: a guy, everyone doesn't think that's okay.
- 44:44Speaker 1: It's okay. It's taboo, right?
- 44:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 44:47Speaker 1: I agree with you, Jessica. That's a great call.
- 44:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I love this.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Guys need friends too. They need someone to air things
- 44:54Speaker 2: out with. So, okay. We'll take that, Jessica. Thank you
- 44:58Speaker 2: so much today. Thank you.
- 45:00Speaker 7: You're welcome.
- 45:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 45:01Speaker 7: Goodbye.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I love that call. Keep it going.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Okay. Let's keep it going. Let's talk to Denise. Good morning.
- 45:07Speaker 4: We're talking about this situation with Lauren and her husband
- 45:12Speaker 4: letting his work wife wear his jacket.
- 45:14Speaker 2: And then this woman posted it up on Instagram. How
- 45:16Speaker 2: do you feel?
- 45:19Speaker 6: Well, first of all, was it her personal Instagram or
- 45:22Speaker 6: was it the company Instagram?
- 45:24Speaker 4: It sounds like it was her personal Instagram, especially if
- 45:26Speaker 4: you're posting something from a bar.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it didn't quite say, but I think we can
- 45:30Speaker 1: assume that.
- 45:32Speaker 6: I was just curious, like, also what, like, the captions said,
- 45:35Speaker 6: you know. But my thing is, is that why would
- 45:38Speaker 6: you just post that, you know, if you're at a
- 45:41Speaker 6: work event?
- 45:43Speaker 7: And two, I understand that.
- 45:46Speaker 6: Women and men can be friends. And maybe she was
- 45:49Speaker 6: being very chivalrous and letting her borrow it. But the
- 45:53Speaker 6: fact that she went and like posted it like it's
- 45:57Speaker 6: out there.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:58Speaker 6: And it does not look like it was a chivalrous event.
- 46:01Speaker 6: It looks like, hey, look at me in your husband's
- 46:04Speaker 6: jacket or like this is a happy hour jacket.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Launching it a little bit.
- 46:09Speaker 1: It's a little in your face for sure.
- 46:12Speaker 7: Yeah. Does anybody know what the caption is?
- 46:15Speaker 1: Lauren didn't say, but you're actually bringing up a really
- 46:18Speaker 1: good point.
- 46:19Speaker 3: I don't know how I would feel about the post,
- 46:22Speaker 3: first of all. And if the caption is something a
- 46:25Speaker 3: little weird or a little off, Denise, that's a really
- 46:28Speaker 3: good point.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I didn't even think of that.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 2: No, I agree.
- 46:32Speaker 7: Yeah. To me, I'm not saying it's on his end.
- 46:37Speaker 6: I'm seeing it's more on, like, her end.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 46:40Speaker 4: I mean, that's a good point. Maybe he is being nice.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Maybe he is being chivalrous to his friend, only sees
- 46:45Speaker 4: her as a friend.
- 46:46Speaker 1: But she's taking it a different way.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Maybe she's taking it, yeah, exactly.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Well, thank you so much, Denise. We really appreciate you
- 46:53Speaker 2: calling in today.
- 46:54Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Have a great day.
- 46:56Speaker 6: You too.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Thanks, you too.
- 46:58Speaker 1: That's a good point. I think he could totally have
- 47:00Speaker 1: pure intentions. I mean, you never know.
- 47:01Speaker 2: He could, and she could be taking it the wrong way.
- 47:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Here, I like this.
- 47:06Speaker 4: We'll end it on this text message that we just
- 47:07Speaker 4: got in on the text line. They said, if I
- 47:09Speaker 4: were her the next time I saw that girl, I
- 47:11Speaker 4: would be wearing my husband's same jacket. You need to
- 47:15Speaker 4: assert your dominance. That is your man.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I love it.
- 47:18Speaker 2: That's your man.
- 47:20Speaker 6: All right.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Maybe even comment on her Instagram if you want to
- 47:23Speaker 2: go that far.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 47:26Speaker 2: We're getting ready to give away these Ella Langley tickets.
- 47:28Speaker 4: We're going to be at Zig Zag Burgers in the DTC,
- 47:31Speaker 4: noon until 1.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and if you're anywhere in that area, like, it's
- 47:36Speaker 3: right off of I-25 on Arapahoe. You can essentially see
- 47:39Speaker 3: it from the highway just anywhere. Take a right right
- 47:42Speaker 3: there and try to win these Ella tickets. It's going
- 47:43Speaker 3: to be so much fun. I cannot wait to be there,
- 47:46Speaker 3: see everybody, try the amazing food. And then also, Nina,
- 47:49Speaker 3: make some friendship bracelets with you.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Yes. So I brought stuff to make our own friendship bracelets.
- 47:54Speaker 4: There's a lot of turquoise to kind of go in
- 47:56Speaker 4: with the Ella Langley theme.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I love it.
- 47:58Speaker 2: She wears a lot of turquoise. I noticed that.
- 47:59Speaker 4: She wears like a black outfit. And she puts her
- 48:02Speaker 4: own country style to it. And then she wears a
- 48:04Speaker 4: lot of.
- 48:04Speaker 2: That turquoise, too.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Yeah, turquoise is a very beautiful color, first of all.
- 48:09Speaker 3: But on top of that, it's a very cowboy, cowgirl-esque
- 48:13Speaker 3: jewel or rock to wear.
- 48:15Speaker 1: What do you call? It's not a jewel.
- 48:17Speaker 2: A stone?
- 48:18Speaker 1: Stone.
- 48:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Anyway, it's very country, and I like it. It's a
- 48:21Speaker 1: very cool country thing to wear.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Well, I have a lot of turquoise beads for you
- 48:25Speaker 4: to make these friendship bracelets today over at Zig Zag.
- 48:28Speaker 4: It's just a little something extra because only one person
- 48:31Speaker 4: is going to be winning these tickets, but you have
- 48:33Speaker 4: to be there in order to win. So we're expecting
- 48:37Speaker 4: a lot of people there, so make sure you get
- 48:38Speaker 4: there early. Get yourself some lunch at Zig Zag. and
- 48:42Speaker 4: you can hang out with us, make these friendship bracelets,
- 48:44Speaker 4: and then at 1 o'clock, close to 1 o'clock, we
- 48:47Speaker 4: are going to be calling out a winner for someone
- 48:49Speaker 4: to go.
- 48:49Speaker 2: To Red Rocks.
- 48:50Speaker 3: And it's going to be a drawing. We're not literally
- 48:52Speaker 3: calling you. We are going to be doing a drawing
- 48:54Speaker 3: right then and there, and you have to be there
- 48:56Speaker 3: to pick up the tickets from us.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 48:59Speaker 4: So make those plans, noon until 1 today at Zig
- 49:02Speaker 4: Zag Burgers. We're so excited for it.
- 49:04Speaker 1: It's going to be so much fun.
- 49:05Speaker 4: If you need more info on it, it is up
- 49:07Speaker 4: on our Facebook. It is up on our Instagram at Mix100Denver.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Three things you need to know before you go into
- 49:13Speaker 4: the office today, like stargazing, very popular here in Colorado.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Josh, I learned that you like to do it as well.
- 49:19Speaker 3: I do. They have dedicated dark spaces, too, that you
- 49:23Speaker 3: can go to and really see the stars.
- 49:24Speaker 2: It's beautiful.
- 49:26Speaker 4: So there are two meteor showers this month coming up
- 49:29Speaker 4: that you can watch. You might want to go check
- 49:32Speaker 4: out some of those dark zones in Colorado.
- 49:35Speaker 2: So there's the draconid.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Meteor shower that's happening in just a couple of days tomorrow,
- 49:41Speaker 4: October 8th through the 9th. The moon's going to be
- 49:43Speaker 4: out a little bit for this one, so you will
- 49:45Speaker 4: see some moonlight brightening things up. But this meteor shower
- 49:48Speaker 4: happens before midnight for anyone that doesn't want to stay
- 49:51Speaker 4: up super duper late.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I'm like, usually it's at like 2.30 in the morning.
- 49:55Speaker 4: Well, that happens for the next meteor shower. Yeah, that
- 49:59Speaker 4: one's going to be happening October 21st. It's called the
- 50:03Speaker 4: Orionid meteor shower. Hopefully I'm saying that correct, but... These meteors,
- 50:07Speaker 4: it's kind of cool because that meteor shower on October 21st,
- 50:11Speaker 4: those ones are coming.
- 50:12Speaker 2: It's like debris from Halley's Comet, which is really cool.
- 50:17Speaker 2: So apparently this happens twice a year.
- 50:19Speaker 7: Okay.
- 50:19Speaker 2: But that one is going to be happening October 21st.
- 50:22Speaker 5: But.
- 50:23Speaker 2: You have to stay up super late for that one.
- 50:25Speaker 1: I might just pull an all-nighter for that.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Right? The peak is at 3 a.m.
- 50:29Speaker 3: I am obsessed with stars and space. And I love
- 50:33Speaker 3: the fact that I have not been able to see
- 50:34Speaker 3: Halley's Comet yet.
- 50:35Speaker 1: I want to. So if this is like trail dust
- 50:37Speaker 1: or star dust from Halley's Comet, I might have to
- 50:40Speaker 1: see that one. That's neat.
- 50:42Speaker 2: There you go.
- 50:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Well, I have some sad news for dog lovers, I guess.
- 50:46Speaker 1: For the first time in years, more U.S.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Households are owning kittens than than puppies. Research firm Packaged
- 50:55Speaker 3: Facts reports that puppy to kitten ratio in the household
- 50:59Speaker 3: has dropped from 1.8 in 2014 to.
- 51:02Speaker 1: 94 in 2026.
- 51:03Speaker 3: That just means that more and more people are starting
- 51:06Speaker 3: to become cat people. And that's fine, I've had both
- 51:09Speaker 3: in my life. I like both of them for different reasons.
- 51:12Speaker 3: I loved our cat, she was very much like a dog.
- 51:15Speaker 3: She would play fetch and she would go outside. I
- 51:18Speaker 3: love dogs, we've had dogs in my family my whole life. Um,
- 51:22Speaker 3: but I think there's a lot of dog people out
- 51:23Speaker 3: there that are not cat people at all.
- 51:26Speaker 1: They would say the crazy cat lady, right?
- 51:28Speaker 4: It kind of goes back and forth, but you could
- 51:30Speaker 4: call someone, you know, you're the crazy dog person where
- 51:32Speaker 4: you have seven, eight dogs at home.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:34Speaker 2: A lot of dogs.
- 51:35Speaker 1: You're right. And that is, that's for nobody.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Roughly 71 million us households still own dogs versus around
- 51:42Speaker 3: 53 million that own cats. But the research firm says
- 51:46Speaker 3: that is crazy. Quickly changing and I'm not sure why yeah,
- 51:49Speaker 3: I'm not sure what happened there. I don't personally I
- 51:51Speaker 3: think cats are easier to take care.
- 51:53Speaker 4: I was just gonna say cats are much easier to
- 51:55Speaker 4: take care of and I just know with dogs a
- 51:58Speaker 4: lot of times Like the vet visits or dogs are
- 52:01Speaker 4: just more prone to hurting themselves, you know and needing
- 52:04Speaker 4: an extra vet.
- 52:05Speaker 3: My dog Oh my god lover. She was an Australian
- 52:07Speaker 3: Shepherd and she would ram her head into everything and
- 52:11Speaker 3: And I'm like, you got to have concussions. And my
- 52:14Speaker 3: cat was gone 18 hours out of the day. And
- 52:16Speaker 3: then I cuddled with you for an hour. So there
- 52:18Speaker 3: is differences there.
- 52:19Speaker 5: There is.
- 52:19Speaker 2: There really is. All right. The third thing you got
- 52:22Speaker 2: to know is if you have a lot of parking tickets.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Denver's parking amnesty program is allowing drivers with overdue parking
- 52:29Speaker 2: tickets to cut their fees 50% until October 31st.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 52:34Speaker 6: Yes.
- 52:34Speaker 2: So this applies for unpaid tickets. Issued before May 10th.
- 52:39Speaker 4: So if you had those tickets earlier this year that
- 52:42Speaker 4: you still haven't paid before May 10th, you go to DenverGov.org.
- 52:46Speaker 4: You click on pay a parking ticket, enter your citation number,
- 52:50Speaker 4: your vehicle information, all of that. and then your eligible
- 52:53Speaker 4: citation will just show the 50% off amount already.
- 52:56Speaker 1: I love that.
- 52:57Speaker 4: But you have to do it before the end of
- 52:59Speaker 4: this month, October 31st, and it's only for tickets issued
- 53:03Speaker 4: before May 10th.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Do that. That's 50% taken off is awesome.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Saving so many people so much money.
- 53:08Speaker 3: We already know you're procrastinating because you didn't pay those
- 53:10Speaker 3: parking tickets, so don't procrastinate on this one.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Josh, there are so many things out in the world
- 53:16Speaker 4: that are just like normal to-dos, but it can tell
- 53:20Speaker 4: you a lot about a person.
- 53:22Speaker 2: For example, road trips.
- 53:25Speaker 4: Some people love them. Some people hate them for different reasons.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 53:29Speaker 2: You like them?
- 53:30Speaker 1: I'm fine with them. I'm not like, let's go on
- 53:32Speaker 1: a 10-hour road trip. But I like them.
- 53:33Speaker 2: They're fine. I hate road trips.
- 53:35Speaker 1: OK.
- 53:35Speaker 4: I don't know what that says about me. Does that
- 53:37Speaker 4: maybe say I'm impatient? It takes forever to get there.
- 53:42Speaker 4: I just want to get out of this car.
- 53:44Speaker 1: You want to get there now?
- 53:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I just get antsy.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Claustrophobic?
- 53:48Speaker 1: You maybe hate how long you're in there?
- 53:50Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Maybe, yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 4: What about an airport delay? How do you react to
- 53:54Speaker 4: a delay while you're traveling?
- 53:56Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Okay, I'm very type A when it comes to that.
- 54:00Speaker 3: So when there is a delay or something happens where
- 54:04Speaker 3: I'm not getting on my flight right away, like I
- 54:05Speaker 3: lost my luggage one time, I was not a fun
- 54:08Speaker 3: person to be around. Oh. I know that's something I
- 54:10Speaker 3: need to work on. So I will be better at it.
- 54:12Speaker 3: But yeah, I'm not good at that. I don't handle
- 54:15Speaker 3: that well.
- 54:15Speaker 1: How about you? Are you okay with that?
- 54:17Speaker 2: I'm actually okay with any sort of an airport delay
- 54:19Speaker 2: and stuff like that.
- 54:20Speaker 4: So what's funny is you're dating Princess Pilot, right? And
- 54:25Speaker 4: she's in the airline industry. And then me, on the
- 54:28Speaker 4: other hand, my husband also works in the airline industry.
- 54:32Speaker 2: And so we're frequent flyers. And I have learned very
- 54:37Speaker 2: much so how to deal with an airport delay. Like,
- 54:40Speaker 2: I'm literally, I turn into an iPad kid.
- 54:42Speaker 4: Like, I have my iPad and I have my headphones
- 54:46Speaker 4: and I'm just, like, I'm chilling.
- 54:48Speaker 2: I will make myself comfortable at an airport. I don't care.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that's, I think it's just because for me, I'm
- 54:55Speaker 3: just like, I just want to get to the destination.
- 54:58Speaker 3: And it's especially bad when the vacation is over and
- 55:01Speaker 3: I'm like, I just want to be home. And they're like,
- 55:03Speaker 3: six hour delay on Delta. I'm like, dude, what is happening?
- 55:08Speaker 3: And so that's the.
- 55:09Speaker 1: I might be a little anxious. I don't know.
- 55:11Speaker 3: I'm not sure what the meaning of it is. But yeah,
- 55:15Speaker 3: I'm an anxious person, I guess.
- 55:16Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 55:16Speaker 4: Maybe it's one of those things, because you're a dude.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Men love to be in control.
- 55:21Speaker 3: 100%.
- 55:22Speaker 1: And if you're.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Not in control and someone else is now delaying you,
- 55:27Speaker 4: that just drives you crazy.
- 55:28Speaker 1: And Nina, I'm one of those guys. I hate to
- 55:30Speaker 1: say it. I'm one of those guys. I could land
- 55:32Speaker 1: a plane if I needed to.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Shut up. Easily.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Stop it. I could land a plane. Nope. And you
- 55:37Speaker 1: want to know why?
- 55:38Speaker 2: All those controls, all those buttons, all those levers, you
- 55:40Speaker 2: could land the plane?
- 55:42Speaker 3: Well, first of all, the technology is so good, they
- 55:44Speaker 3: virtually land themselves now. I know there's still human interaction
- 55:47Speaker 3: with it, but I asked Princess Pilot, and she said, yeah,
- 55:52Speaker 3: you probably could.
- 55:53Speaker 5: Really?
- 55:53Speaker 3: Boom.
- 55:54Speaker 5: Okay.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Yep, she said I probably could.
- 55:56Speaker 2: When you have an actual pilot assuring you that, yeah,
- 55:59Speaker 2: you probably could, then okay.
- 56:00Speaker 3: No one is ever going to tell me anything else again,
- 56:02Speaker 3: ever in my life. I'm like, I could land a 747, easy.
- 56:05Speaker 2: It's game over for that.
- 56:07Speaker 5: Yep.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Okay, well, what about assembling furniture? You mentioned that you
- 56:10Speaker 2: did this the other day. You seemed a little frustrated.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, so I was helping my sister out. I
- 56:15Speaker 3: have never seen a vanity in my life. I mean,
- 56:16Speaker 3: I've seen them, but I've never built them before.
- 56:18Speaker 4: Oh, a vanity, yes, where you take up space to
- 56:20Speaker 4: do your makeup, your hair, you got a mirror, maybe
- 56:22Speaker 4: some lights.
- 56:23Speaker 1: Had no idea that's what it was.
- 56:25Speaker 3: She said, I need you to help me assemble a nightstand.
- 56:29Speaker 1: And I was like, easy, that's a square. Boom, I
- 56:31Speaker 1: got this. Four walls and a tabletop.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Maybe a drawer and that's it.
- 56:35Speaker 3: No clue that this was a vanity. And I was
- 56:38Speaker 3: at my wits end. I was like, first of all,
- 56:40Speaker 3: I go there and I'm like.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Psh, instructions?
- 56:44Speaker 2: Oh no, did you throw them away?
- 56:46Speaker 1: No, I didn't. I just completely ignored them.
- 56:50Speaker 3: Which in turn made probably a 45 minute project into
- 56:53Speaker 3: a two hour project because I finished parts and then
- 56:55Speaker 3: she'd look at it and she goes, that ain't right.
- 56:57Speaker 2: That's not correct.
- 56:58Speaker 3: And I was like, okay, so I was typical guy there.
- 57:00Speaker 3: But I feel like I can get along with it.
- 57:02Speaker 3: I just think I can do everything myself.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Josh, you're just like that typical dude. Don't need directions.
- 57:07Speaker 2: It drives me crazy. My husband's the same way.
- 57:10Speaker 4: And it's funny because when assembling furniture, I am so
- 57:14Speaker 4: much better at assembling furniture than my husband is.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Wait, why?
- 57:17Speaker 1: Are you the instruction follower? Is that why?
- 57:19Speaker 5: Yes, because I.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Follow the instructions. It's actually not hard.
- 57:22Speaker 3: It's in our blood to just ignore them and do
- 57:25Speaker 3: it until we're wrong.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Oh, I hate guys.
