- 4:32a special guest joining me tonight. We're talking about hip hop and we're talking
- 4:39about shoes and whatever else may come up. So without further ado, I
- 4:46would like to introduce to you mister Rico, Little John. Hi, how
- 4:58are you good? It's been good going on with you, Chiller. So
- 5:03listen, let me ask you, when did you first fall in love with
- 5:10hip hop? Oh? Let me let me think. Let me think about
- 5:17when I was like twelve or thirteen when I first saw run DMC. Was
- 5:25that your, like, your favorite group at the time. Yes, Then
- 5:29once hip hop started growing started, you know the various other rappers, Big
- 5:38Daddy came, you know, Heavy Denon Boys, I can go on,
- 5:44and when it came when it comes to like the beginning of hip hop started
- 5:48out of New York Bronx mmm, and once it started growing, it was
- 5:57all about New York right then went out West Coast. Favorite West Coast artists
- 6:05oftentimes ice Cube. Yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying, Snoop
- 6:12Dogg. And you know that's basically you know, my favorite hip hop artist
- 6:18is and will forever be Tupac God risked his soul. You know, he
- 6:26started as a dancer, but digital yeah, I know, I remember,
- 6:30yeah, dancer then the actor, well, actually the rapper than the actors,
- 6:36right. But you know his original name was mc New York because he
- 6:42was I remember saying that in one of his uh like stories about his life
- 6:49or biography or what have you. Born in New York, raised in Baltimore,
- 6:55then he moved out. How has hip hop influenced your life? Hip
- 7:00hop influes my life. The way I dress, the way I you know,
- 7:10any way I talk something. You know what I'm saying when I started
- 7:13out, where you're talking, where you dress. It's just the way you
- 7:19carry yourself. You know. That's what hip hop is. Rap is a
- 7:24part of hip hop. A lot of people get that confused. A lot
- 7:27of people think rap is hip hop. No, it's a part of hip
- 7:30hop. Okay, I will say that. I know that there's like different.
- 7:38I don't know what the word I'm looking for is, but there's a
- 7:42difference with in my opinion, the difference between a lyricist and a rapper like
- 7:55like as far as like Tupac, I consider him like a poet in the
- 8:01way that he delivered his messages. I feel like there was a message in
- 8:07most of his songs, even the ones where he was being messed. There's
- 8:13a lot of a lot of things that he does. As far as the
- 8:16message getting across, Yeah, he got across good information, good advice.
- 8:22Yeah, you know what I'm saying to me, it was good advice,
- 8:26good message. Some like basically us as us as black people, we need
- 8:33the more to focus on more ourselves as black people, come together black people.
- 8:39You know that's what my take my thing from. So you know,
- 8:50I am an R and B head from top to bottom. Like you know,
- 8:56Bobby Brown has a real special place in my heart. Like I love
- 9:00it man uhsher. But if I had to be born in any era of
- 9:09music, it would have had to have been the sixties. I love the
- 9:16Temptations. How do you feel like R and B has influenced hip hop?
- 9:28R and B is influenced hip hop? You know there's more rappers now trying
- 9:31to sing? Yeah, you know it started back when he did. He
- 9:37said, check out Rico Little John on the podcast You Go Brother. A
- 9:43lot of rappers now are trying to be singers. You know, they're saying
- 9:48what it is now Instead of getting their R and B artists to sing hooks,
- 9:54they're doing it themselves. Right, It started back and hip hop started.
- 9:58You know, a lot of guys would have you know, a little
- 10:01you know, a little song and they would just sing the chorus. Well,
- 10:07do you feel like it's it could be said that they don't actually get
- 10:13the singers to do these hooks out of respect because like most of our R
- 10:20and B, like our Charlie Wilson's and you know, even though he's doing
- 10:26like the theme song for B MF, that that is not how that man
- 10:31lives his life. That goes as a respect factor because you know he started
- 10:35the band, right, Absolutely, these young rappers once my agent, you
- 10:41know older, they know who the band is, right, and that's a
- 10:46respect factor, you know. That's that's like, look, I respect you.
- 10:52Could you please be on my you know song? Like it would be
- 10:56an honor, right, you know, It's it's an honor for one of
- 11:01that Yeah, yeah, you know to come on and bless a song,
- 11:09you know, and I think all singers like when we came up. You
- 11:16know, it's an honor for these rappers to you know, I'm gonna put
- 11:20so and so my song because I grew up listening to him, right,
- 11:24you know what I'm saying. I grew up listening to Bobby Browns, I
- 11:26want him. Sorry, I grew up listening to Usher. I want him
- 11:28on the song, or I grew up listening to you know, Like I
- 11:31said, Charlie Wilson Rond, you know it's I feel like the nineties is
- 11:43the last of a dying breed. I don't think we've had any good music
- 11:50since the nineties. Like, you know, I do love Usher. I
- 11:58love that he just came out with a new album. However, nothing will
- 12:05compare to Confessions. Nothing, just like nothing. That's like with Michael Jackson,
- 12:13there was nothing to be compared to Thriller. You know what I'm saying.
- 12:18With Usher, he's not trying to chase Confessions. Yeah, and I
- 12:24think a lot of people want him to. A lot of people want him
- 12:26to. That was his highest highest you know, paid that it was the
- 12:31highest. It was like, I don't know, quadruple platinum or whatever,
- 12:35whatever, diamond or whatever. Yeah, it was up there. Once you
- 12:39get that record, that that that record that people were like, yo,
- 12:46this is the record. A lot of artists will Okay, I'm gonna chase
- 12:50their record again. But you can't. Right once you have a good record
- 12:54out, you have to go on and move on, evolved, keep them
- 13:00all. You can't keep chasing that that one record. And the crazy thing
- 13:05with music today for me is, you know how like when we were growing
- 13:11up, we watched old videos of how our parents and our ancestors used to,
- 13:20you know, listen to the Four Tops and the Temptations, and they
- 13:24had these different dance moves and we looking at them like, okay, y'all
- 13:30have lost you'll mind. And then we come about and we come up with
- 13:37all of these different dance moves, Like I actually heard that there was a
- 13:41dance move to the percolator. I'm still trying to find out. I mean,
- 13:45but when our parents see our generation, they were like those dance moves,
- 13:50What do I come up with that? That's crazy? And so now
- 13:56with our kids they're doing dance. It's like really, and it doesn't even
- 14:01look like dance. It's just like it looks like they're having convulsion. And
- 14:09it's just like the music. The music is trash. I know, you
- 14:18like ratchet music. I just get it as a as a female because I'm
- 14:26like, why did you put that out? Really? Why as a female?
- 14:31As a female, you can do anything? Now as a female,
- 14:39I Love, Queen Latifah, Salt and Pepper, Little Kim, Lauren Hill,
- 14:48and Foxy Brown. Those are my you can't get mm hmmm. He
- 14:56was hitting Mitt with me with some of it. I mean, that was
- 15:00my girl. When it came to how she said, yeah, yeah,
- 15:05I mean I love Eve too, but I think I like her more as
- 15:11an actress. But what I was getting at and parental advisory. You know
- 15:22how Little Kim was nasty right right, I mean she set the tone.
- 15:28She set the tone for nasty. But you know where that came from.
- 15:33Biggie was like, you know, I've seen it. I've seen it.
- 15:37It's been done something different. Yeah, let's let's let's, you know,
- 15:41do some difference, do something different. Un Lets you know, be more
- 15:46sick here. You know, we're going to talk about things that Queen Latifa's
- 15:52the lawn hies, you know what I'm saying, the money Loves never talked
- 15:56about. You know, they were on that Women's Live, women's rights,
- 16:03women's Black women liberation, right, Little Kim to get another direction, right,
- 16:10and what I took that that that direction and it's like nobody followed Lauren
- 16:15Hills right, Quel teeth right them Ony Love what I'm saying, what happened.
- 16:22They took Lauren Hill when they took Little Kim, and they just pu
- 16:30because now Little Kim's lyrics are like, you know, just they initially were,
- 16:38they were the blueprint at one point, but now but now now she's
- 16:45PG. Thirteen compared to what we're here because like Sexy Red, she has
- 16:56me clutching invisible pearls, like I'm like off because the stuff that comes out
- 17:03of her mouth, I mean not sukie. I mean, they're their their
- 17:10level of what they consider sexy is pornographic. To me, it's past.
- 17:22It's past pornographic. And and it's sad that sex sells in the way that
- 17:32it does because women can't just come in with a hot sixteen and just take
- 17:40it and do something with it. You have to have their sixteen is so
- 17:45elementary that you know, my nephews can write a yeah sixteen sixteen bars and
- 17:55put a good beat behind it, get to get chant behind it, and
- 17:59they can say anything they want, they can do anything they want, and
- 18:03it's it. And it's getting younger. That's my thing is it's getting younger
- 18:11and it's getting more crazier. Right, It's weird like, you know,
- 18:19we thought with the music that we listen to growing up in the day,
- 18:25that we had something to say. And now these kids out here with booty
- 18:33holes being brown and just weird stuff like that, and like and this is
- 18:40that the women are going much harder than But it shouldn't even have to be
- 18:45that way. We should be in a place now where a woman can go
- 18:51in confidently and rap about being a mother, being a wife, building a
- 19:03brand and owning a business or what have you. It doesn't have to always
- 19:10be sexualized. Yeah, and it seems like even from generation to generation it's
- 19:18always going to be sex sells. It is. And you know, how
- 19:22do you think came up? Is like once Luther Campbell to our crew,
- 19:27kid, you know what I'm saying, yo, what we can do?
- 19:33We can talk about this, But you know, if it wasn't for him,
- 19:37we couldn't talk about They couldn't rap about what's going on now because he
- 19:42basically was banned. Absolutely, Yeah, parental advisory stamp was because of him.
- 19:51I do know that he went to court to fight for free speech.
- 19:56He went to court, he got arrested. It shows for the right to
- 20:03speak for you know what I'm saying your free speech, you're you're you're a
- 20:07member for you know, to speak whatever you want to speak, you know
- 20:11what I'm saying. And he took he took it, you know, took
- 20:17it on the chin and like I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna fight.
- 20:22You know, he has to have that respect factor that it wasn't for him
- 20:26to our crew, a lot of these rappers wouldn't be where they are now.
- 20:36True, what do you feel about this whole freak nick thing that's coming
- 20:45about now? How do you feel? I watched the documentary last night?
- 20:48You did already? Yes, yes, I watched the documentary and then it
- 20:52wasn't he watched it without me. It wasn't bad. You know, it
- 20:59was basically I was started. You know, college kids in Atlanta from the
- 21:07DC area. You know a lot of those kids couldn't afford to go back
- 21:11home during spring break. What they did just came together for a pendic.
- 21:18You know. That was just basically these colleges in Atlanta getting together, you
- 21:23know, coming together as black people having a good time. And the thing
- 21:32was when it got to a point where it got you know out there,
- 21:37you know, we have those bad apples of course that came in m and
- 21:45once the bad apples came in, you know, once you put a bad
- 21:48apple in a bunch, bunch, the whole bunch, because you know,
- 21:52once you see that bad apple, oh no, I don't want that.
- 21:56I don't want this basket. It's got a bad apple in it. The
- 21:59rest of apples can be good, yeah, but once you see that bad
- 22:02apples might as well be tainted. This is tainted. You know at Atlanta
- 22:07and what ninety six when the Olympics came, you know, that was that
- 22:14point and Tom where you know, freak Nick was bringing a little revenue in
- 22:22Atlanta, but you know the Olympics will bring revenue right to Atlanta, right,
- 22:29So when you're in that place of government, you know of bacon laws
- 22:37and stuff, you're gonna sit back and like, look, we're gonna be
- 22:40the center of attention. We got the Olympics coming, We got the weed
- 22:45out these things, right, And that's what they did. I know a
- 22:52lot of people were worried about the whole freak New documentary coming out because,
- 23:03let's face it, a lot of people, a lot of people was living
- 23:11life care free, and you know that that that was a time and place
- 23:17that a lot of people have things change and and things in your life change.
- 23:23I mean we may have some some some pastors and evangelists, they might
- 23:30have popped up on the freaknik and change. You know what I'm saying.
- 23:34We can't stay the same. We're going to write something about it. You
- 23:40have to grow. You have to grow. Yeah, you gotta grow.
- 23:42You're gonna die because you know you're not going to go to school. Have
- 23:48these friends from elementary high school eventually grow them some of Yeah, and like
- 24:00you said, you have to involve, you have to move. Yeah,
- 24:03you know what I'm saying. And that scared that that documentary kind of like,
- 24:07yeah, it scared a lot of people, like am I gonna be
- 24:08on that video? Yeah? Am I gonna be? You know in the
- 24:14place where I like, you know, I should have done it. The
- 24:15thing with us as a people, we don't believe that people can change.
- 24:23We we put people in a box of if you were a prostitute thirty years
- 24:29ago and you've changed and given your life to Christ. Now when we bring
- 24:37you up in conversation, this is the first thing we're gonna think about it,
- 24:40you still was a whole I mean it don't matter. On a good
- 24:44Wednesday, you was on your back, I mean, and that's all You're
- 24:49gonna be known. And sometimes down the line you I'm gonna get my life
- 24:52right, right, You're gonna have somebody to come up. Hey, wouldn't
- 24:57you? Didn't you? Right? So you know, but listen, I
- 25:03want to redirect the conversation and talk about shoes. I want to talk to
- 25:12you about Jordan's. My first question is why Jordan's, why Jordan's well being
- 25:27that from that error of seeing magic m m Bird, Isaiah, you know,
- 25:38come come in and they did that thing, you know, but they
- 25:45were up under one shoe that was conversed and no one, absolutely no one
- 25:53Jordan came in had their own sneaker with the name of it. You know
- 26:00what I'm saying. And we all know who Jordan is. We all know
- 26:03who Michael Jordan. You know, we wanted to be like Mike. I
- 26:10wanted to be like Mike the whole little Yeah, yes, drove me up
- 26:15the wall because man, the fire gravity, yeah, you know, and
- 26:21you're seeing that he's got these particular shoes on being being that young boy looking
- 26:27at this man basically you know, and stay in the air for at least
- 26:34three or four minutes before yeah so and before coming down, you know,
- 26:41doing things that YO couldn't have no ordinary man do it, but superman,
- 26:47you know what I'm saying, Because they were like, this guy is Superman.
- 26:52So my issue though, you know, I will go and say that
- 26:57Michael Jordan gave a lot of Black children and children of all races someone to
- 27:06look up to. However, that man don't like his fans. I have
- 27:12an issue with it, Like if it wasn't for us putting money into buying
- 27:18these Jordans or going to these games. And you know, when his father
- 27:25passed away, he chose to do baseball in honor of his father. And
- 27:33we all know that that flock. But our love for Michael Jordan took us
- 27:37to from the basketball court to the baseball diamond and he still don't like us.
- 27:45So how does that make you feel to know that you spend your hard
- 27:52earned money for these shoes that only come around it was so often, and
- 27:57this man don't like you. You know what I'm saying. And this is
- 28:03this is me when I was growing up seeing those shoes. And you have
- 28:11two brothers abundant, you know, you have your parents back in the day.
- 28:15It's just like, you know, if I wanted a pair of shoes
- 28:18like that, they got to get My brother's a pair of shoes right right.
- 28:22And at the time you're looking at three hundred dollars. Yeah, and
- 28:27back in those days it's hard to come by, come by, right,
- 28:32even though your parents had good jobs. You know, those three hundred dollars
- 28:37could go to go towards something else, yeah, something more or so me
- 28:44my brother Carlos now mars Is, he's not a Mars is not a sneaker
- 28:49head like that. You know, he's a Jodan fan up and down,
- 28:55you know what I'm saying. But me and Carlos brother next to me,
- 29:00we're we're sneaker heads. You know, I don't care about you know,
- 29:06ever meeting Jordan's I don't care about you know this, that and the third
- 29:10about him. You know, I wanted to shoot. I wanted to put
- 29:15those shoes on my feet, right and when I got a chance to wear,
- 29:18I can afford to get that sneakers or whatever I wanted. You know,
- 29:26being a sneaker head, you ain't you really it's about that that that
- 29:30that love for that sneaker that you always wanted as a kid growing up.
- 29:34You know what I'm saying. Once you got that, that grail, that
- 29:40shoe, oh man, you got it so for me, like you know,
- 29:48you you were my introduction to Jordan's. And being that I have feet
- 29:56the size of the baby's, it's not hard to buy me. It's not
- 30:00shoes or whatever, but because you got it made as the person with small
- 30:07feet, yeah, you can. Basically I wear kids shoes. Yeah,
- 30:12saying hey, it's you know, you basically can get you know, you
- 30:18wear size you know you were a kids you mm hm, and you basically
- 30:22ain't gotta pay grown person person. Yeah right. Jordan's have like numbers like
- 30:33threes and yeah it's all from one to right now it's twenty see so twenty
- 30:44seven, okay, you just have too many? You know that I can
- 30:47you know, I you know me personally, I have the love for the
- 30:52threes, the eleven's, twelves and the thirteen's and one of my four favorite
- 30:59Jordan. So my question is how do you know which is which? Like
- 31:03they have you know, the different designs, the different designs of them,
- 31:07and if you like you, if you're like me and you're like a certain
- 31:15pair, like I said, the three eleven, twelve to thirteen, you
- 31:18know what they are after those one? You know, after that, you
- 31:23might like a pair of fourteen, you might like a pair of sevens.
- 31:29But majority of people that I know, well, they're mostly three eleven,
- 31:37twelve thirteen. And you have a lot of kids now, a lot of
- 31:41men now are going for the ones, which I don't. I don't care
- 31:45for it because the way they feel is like you have flat feet and you
- 31:49know. Yeah, So you know the ongoing conversation that we've had with your
- 31:57massive shoot collection, not as massive as my brother Carlos, but I have
- 32:02you know, I've had yeah, I've had yeah, yeah, because Carlos
- 32:08is a true sneaker head through and through. The most I've ever had,
- 32:15okay, one fifty pair, you know. Yeah. But what my question
- 32:22was, you know, we used to talk about what happens when the love
- 32:30for buying shoes fades away, and I know you said you wanted to pass
- 32:36them down. We're not really well the thing is with that, you know,
- 32:42shoes deteriorate. You know, I have I havel shoes that's older than
- 32:46my daughter. I know you do. Yeah, they deteriorate and might be
- 32:54passing the love, not really the shoe. I passed the love to my
- 33:00nephews, you know, Dion, my son, you know, but you
- 33:02know he's not really a sneaker head, but he knows, you knows,
- 33:07you know, just the love for the shoes. Just the love for you
- 33:12know, not just Jordan's. You have Lebron's, you have Alan Iris,
- 33:15you know which I like the questions, you know, it's just a love
- 33:20for the shoes and just passionate information along to you, your nephews, your
- 33:25son, your daughter, nieces got one for you. You woke up in
- 33:32the morning, there was no more music, no more Jordan's. What would
- 33:43you gravitate towards commas? Which already because listen the way you had me up
- 33:52in what's that comment book store, Tangle Webb, It would be comics.
- 34:01It would be you know, the action figures. When you grew up Now,
- 34:06I grew up on the g I Joe with Them, the thunder Cats.
- 34:12Who else? I grew up on Super Friends? What other cartoon?
- 34:17I grew up on Transformers? Me either me either, me either. You
- 34:30don't know the different about the shoes you're talking about? You don't know the
- 34:34difference about the shoes Travita. With that said, it's just just a love
- 34:42for you know, with certain pairs. Because what okay, so here's the
- 34:46question, He's going to get some shoes. I like shoes. I them
- 35:00a lot, But being that I have spinors, difpity, there's certain things
- 35:02that I can't wear. But if I ever found a pair of these and
- 35:07a size for the mine holy grail of shoes? Are those the space jams?
- 35:14These are the Concords. I thought the space jams the holy Grail,
- 35:20These Concord Levins, these are the holy grails, sneakers. I'm gonna tell
- 35:25you why I thought the space jams were. It was because when you try
- 35:32to get them the first go out, and you couldn't the level of disappointment
- 35:39in your face every time you heard even the song a song where it's mentioned
- 35:45I walked past the DVD right and I wound up getting them anyway. So
- 35:52your children, your children made it even more funny for me, because you
- 36:00know, Deontay is a die hard little Wayne saying, and I know that
- 36:06there was a song where he said something about some space jams, and every
- 36:12time Deontay heard that song. He looked at you and laugh because he knew
- 36:15I mean, like from the gun laughing. But these right here, there's
- 36:22a concord elevens. These are the Holy Grail sneakers. You know what I'm
- 36:27saying. These right here shut down malls. These shut down you know,
- 36:34even boutiques. It basically shut down. This shoe has caused a lot of
- 36:42problems. The shoe game has been the years has been dangerous. I've seen
- 36:47shootings and malls and fits, and which is why they went to doing the
- 36:57raffles. Now that do the because that's more state right, Okay, but
- 37:01still but dangerous. You're still dangerous because you still have guys in the cut
- 37:07waiting on you to come out, so you At times this shoe had guys
- 37:15walking out with security. At one time, I remember they will walk you
- 37:20to your car. I'm not gonna lie. There was a certain point in
- 37:28our relationship where I was like, man, God, please give this man
- 37:32something else to like cut, because you know, I'll go out, you
- 37:37know, early in the mornings or sometimes I have you had friends that did
- 37:44like those sleep people will actually be at the store, in front of the
- 37:49store, camping out. A certain shoe. I've never liked anything el but
- 37:54in my life enough to do that. I mean, you know how I
- 37:59feel about out an Usher concert. You know, I was wanting to go
- 38:04to Vegas and experience him at Vegas or whatever. And I do believe that
- 38:10if he ever goes back, I'll have my time for though. But like
- 38:16the love that you have for a shoe, why couldn't you have Like do
- 38:22you see yourself? You're about to be fifty next month, I mean in
- 38:28less than fourteen days, you're gonna be fifty. Do you see yourself as
- 38:32a fifty year old man still collecting shoes. I've fallen back a lot since,
- 38:45you know, ever since COVID, right, falling back like every now
- 38:50and then, because right now, Jordan's pushed so many shoes out that if
- 38:58you go one Saturday for a shoe, by the time that that Saturday to
- 39:01the next Saturday, something else between that that week will come out. And
- 39:07even like I should have wait, something new will come out, something you
- 39:12know, Jordan will yeah, he'll put out and you're like, yo,
- 39:16you know I didn't have Basically, you know, why didn't they do this
- 39:22like a time, Yeah, and I would have gotten this, you know,
- 39:30instead of this shoot. But you have people that will. You know,
- 39:35it's got to a point now that Jordan has has been just pushing out
- 39:37shoes, pushing out shoes, pushing our shoes to a point where people can't
- 39:42who can't afford it. People could, but you know you're gonna lack on
- 39:46something, you know what I'm saying, Lack on a light build, lack
- 39:51on the Waterville, or lack on a car fayment sometimes green for a shoot.
- 39:58And I've seen it, mighty, I swear, I swear on me.
- 40:02We've we we've come alone with because brouh there there was a time,
- 40:14there was a time where I mean I can sit and laugh about it now
- 40:19where you would be like do I get this shoe or do we eat?
- 40:22It came to that point of I know, I know, and again I
- 40:28have never liked anything enough to jeopardize my stomach. But now it's like this
- 40:37shoe came out a while back, and I guarantee you it's gonna make it.
- 40:42It makes it. It's gonna it's gonna make it. Yeah, it's
- 40:45gonna make its way back. You know, it's you know what I'm saying,
- 40:47It's been retro so many times, it'll make its way back. Just
- 40:51like when the space came out the first time, I just had to wait
- 40:54for the next go around. So let me ask you, when they come
- 40:58out again, will they look exactly like how they look now? Not really,
- 41:02because the first time they came out on the back, you see the
- 41:06four or five. The last time they came out hit the two three.
- 41:09Oh and this last December they had the same shooter came out, but the
- 41:20white part was leavel instead of this material. Okay, that's like a cloth,
- 41:25this cough material. Yeah, it's cough material. Now. The one
- 41:30that came out December past the summer, it was all level, top,
- 41:34all level, and they had the jump man it was gold. The two
- 41:38three on the back was gold. You know what I'm saying. I did
- 41:42a little research and it costs less than twenty five dollars to actually make a
- 41:52ten Yeah, I'm just yeah, the material. Yeah. So with that
- 42:00being said, getting a shoe, a standard shoe that will last to test
- 42:09the time, would you would you still spend like two what like two eighty
- 42:17for a shoe knowing that it costs less than ten dollars to make Since I've
- 42:23gotten older. No, I wouldn't, no, because it's better things to
- 42:30spend with two eighty and a pair of shoes that will last either six maybe
- 42:34seven years. Right then it starts to deteriorate, and that's two eighty gone
- 42:40right now, says some older It's like, you know, I kind of
- 42:44like pick and choose what I want now, you know what I'm saying.
- 42:47It's not like when I was younger getting that one. Yeah, when the
- 42:52next week come out and getting that one heat what I'm saying, like you
- 42:53said, contemplating on like get to eat or just get paid. I'm thankful
- 43:01our lights have never been off ever. Now, Like I said, I'm
- 43:06older and I'm like, yo, it's just a circle now. And I
- 43:10just you know, if I didn't get that the first time, if I
- 43:14didn't get that the second time, I'm gonna get it in this run.
- 43:17If not, I would wait till the next go round because they're coming back.
- 43:22That last question. Do you think that they'll ever make some orthopedic jays
- 43:28because y'all get y'all look getting out, look, look, look, look
- 43:32which come to show they can they can? Would you bind? No?
- 43:39Why not? No? Because when I'm in my sixties seventies, I probably
- 43:45won't be thinking about wearing tying up shoes. You're gonna go with the bell
- 43:52crawt. The bere crowd is slipping, you know what I'm saying. Take
- 43:57me now bending over and the time shooting. No you sixteen seventy years old,
- 44:02Hey, I want whatever's coming. Well, I just feel like since
- 44:07we tied Doonta and Danser's shoes, by the time we get that age,
- 44:12maybe they'll you know what grandkids would do that before they will, you know,
- 44:19unless we get more than k because she ain't doing it. But you
- 44:27know that's that's just with me. Now there is more than your shoes.
- 44:31You know, started collecting you know, action figures and stuff. You know,
- 44:37I've been doing that for a long time. The shoot and I'm a
- 44:44masked a couple of grails, holy grails, you know. Like I said,
- 44:52I've gone more than now to collecting bench and stuff for like action figure
- 45:00and stuff, because now that lasts longer and by the time you know,
- 45:07they can be if they're not ripped open out the plastic. And you know
- 45:13how I feel about stuff like that. I'm not about to buy an old
- 45:16cabbage Patch from nineteen eighty something and keep it in the box. I'm not
- 45:23about to do that. I'm gonna open it. I'm gonna see if it
- 45:27smell like baby powder, like the ones from when I grew up. And
- 45:32that's just gonna be that. But for that comics, you know, coming
- 45:37to grown a Mask. You know, if you found that first issue of
- 45:45a certain character, hey, there were some living on down the line.
- 45:51Well listen, mister little John. I want to thank you for stopping by,
- 45:57thank you for hanging out with me. Most importantly, I would like
- 46:04to thank you for supporting my podcast. You know the hood ins and outs
- 46:14of things I've been dealing right, and you know that the podcast gives me
- 46:19peace. And I appreciate you for even when we're not connecting, you always
- 46:28share my podcasts and like my flyers and right to me as a husband to
- 46:36support you, because you know, if I don't, who will? That
- 46:42is true. You know, if I can't be your number one fan,
- 46:45who will? You know? If I'm that one fan? You know you
- 46:51got a fan. You know you got to you know, fan club president.
- 46:54Whatever you do, you know, whatever you do, I try to
- 46:58like encourage you, push you you know you can do this, but I
- 47:04wanted to see you apply first. You know what I'm saying, Like when
- 47:07you when it came to your book, Travina said her you tread. Yes,
- 47:14Yes, I love to see y'all do things, just like you know,
- 47:16once I see you put forth the effort, I'm behind y'all facts.
- 47:25You know what I'm saying. It's like when you went to when we first
- 47:29started talking and you said, I would like you know, I'm adopted and
- 47:34I would like to see my mother. Okay, we're gonna do it.
- 47:39It's coming, but you know it took time. It took time, but
- 47:44you've done it with a little you know what I'm saying, a little push
- 47:50from other people in a push from me. Lord Travita about to start up
- 47:55preaching, how sermon in the comments is coming? I feel it? Oh
- 48:00and DD saying her too right YouTube. You know, once you did that,
- 48:07I was like, you've done it, you know what I'm saying.
- 48:10And he was like, I want to write a book. Okay, we're
- 48:15gonna do the research. We're gonna we're gonna you know you know what.
- 48:19You know what inspired me, you know what inspired me most to do my
- 48:24book, though the amount of people are reached out to and asked them how
- 48:34to get Yeah, just get I mean, just just to open the door
- 48:37a little bit, not even open it. Unlock it, yeah, just
- 48:40unlock it. You know. I turned turn theob and out. I mean,
- 48:45and so many people was just like, pray about it, right,
- 48:51you know, that's how we we are as a people. I hate that
- 48:53about black people, you know, that's how we are. I hate that
- 48:58for the simple fact of child is in trouble. Prayer but you know,
- 49:02I don't know what I'm gonna do. Prayer without works dead dead dead dead.
- 49:07And so my whole thing was if I'm coming to you asking you what
- 49:14I need to do to get this done, then I'm putting in the work
- 49:20or whatever. So I mean, the steps, the process, you know,
- 49:22everything made me want to write even more because so many people, I
- 49:29don't know, if they thought I was gonna take money out of they pocket
- 49:31buy by them telling me what to do. Everything has everything right. What
- 49:37I'm saying, you can't you can't go in there and say I want to
- 49:40make if you're not. If you're the first time, let me tell you
- 49:44this first time, you're trying to make a cake. You know what I'm
- 49:49saying, it has instructures. Some people, you know, tweak it a
- 49:52little bit, a little bit. But you know, if you ask your
- 49:55mom, you know what I'm saying, she gonna tell you how she makes
- 49:58it right. I'm saying, But figure out how to make it your own
- 50:02right and the book your own to the point where those people that you asked
- 50:13asked you right. I mean, you know I'm slow motion about everything.
- 50:21What's meant for me will always find me. I do believe that wholeheartedly.
- 50:27And you know that that has been the thing with me and Travited. You
- 50:31know, we we have like that's my sister, like you know, she's
- 50:39been closer to me than my actual my mama gave birth to and so we
- 50:46butt heads like sisters. And if you're sisters, every day is not going
- 50:58to be roses right, you know what I'm saying. Light new addition to
- 51:05you know, can you stand the ring right? You know every day won't
- 51:08be perfect right? Can you stand the right? But you know we done
- 51:14got off the beaten path. But I just wanted to thank you again for
- 51:20but you know, you always have that one friend in life you understand in
- 51:27life. We're gonna have five people that we know. Out of those five
- 51:34to be three you know that you you can count on. But it's that
- 51:39one. It's gonna be there. Pick you up, true, pick you
- 51:46up well listen, sir. Not trying to boot you off my podcast or
- 51:52anything like that, but these good people got to go. We got to
- 51:58go. I got a cat fee or something because I don't know what she's
- 52:04doing, what she is she open somewhere, But anyway, I would like
- 52:09to thank everybody for tuning in tonight, hanging out with the Little John's,
- 52:15And as I always say before I end my shows, you may be delayed,
- 52:22but what God has for you will never be denied unto you. So
- 52:27until next time, good night, All things where all the blue sky, but as
