- 1:07Speaker 3: This is a podcast called 25 Whistles. Talking football and
- 1:12Speaker 3: they all wear a whistle.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect?
- 1:17Speaker 3: It's a podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:20Speaker 4: 25 Whistles.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I have to get a call from my wife.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Hello? It's okay. Yeah, it's been saying that.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Okay, bye.
- 1:34Speaker 1: All right, blow it now, Mike.
- 1:37Speaker 3: What's been saying that? Check engine light?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad you asked.
- 1:39Speaker 3: No.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So we're having a little car squeeze right now because
- 1:45Speaker 1: my wife's car died and had to get towed off.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So she's driving my car. And there's a tire pressure
- 1:51Speaker 1: light that comes on. But it's come on since the
- 1:54Speaker 1: weather changed.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. That happens. That's so normal. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 1: And so I haven't fixed it. I don't need to
- 2:01Speaker 1: because you can hit a button and it tells you
- 2:02Speaker 1: what each tire's up on. So all the numbers are fine.
- 2:05Speaker 1: But I just haven't. turned it off and she's like
- 2:07Speaker 1: it's okay because she doesn't drive the car every day.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Dude for a minute there I was so proud of
- 2:11Speaker 3: you I'm like you're starting to sound like me like
- 2:12Speaker 3: my wife gets in my car she's like alright the
- 2:14Speaker 3: airbag light's on the check engine light on it's all
- 2:17Speaker 3: good you're good.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It's only been on for a year it's alright I
- 2:20Speaker 1: was worried it was something else but no she's good
- 2:22Speaker 1: she's driving my car all good does she like it
- 2:25Speaker 1: driving your car yeah yeah she wants one really yeah
- 2:29Speaker 1: so we'll see you gotta get her one I told
- 2:30Speaker 1: her she can have whatever she wants I don't care
- 2:32Speaker 1: what she gets I was like just pick something out
- 2:33Speaker 1: you can have it it does not matter what it.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Is that's what you say that's nice that's cool You
- 2:37Speaker 3: never tell us that.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You're not my wife.
- 2:40Speaker 3: You have whatever you want.
- 2:42Speaker 1: But she's like, well, I was like, anything, whatever you want.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Just pick it out and we'll go get it.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Wow.
- 2:47Speaker 3: That's so crazy, dude. But I mean, it's got to
- 2:51Speaker 3: be within reason.
- 2:52Speaker 1: No, but she's a reasonable person, but it doesn't have
- 2:55Speaker 1: to be within reason. Pick whatever you want. We'll go
- 2:58Speaker 1: get it.
- 2:58Speaker 3: If she says the Batmobile. You're getting the Batmobile.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Well, obviously the Batmobile doesn't have a place for like
- 3:05Speaker 1: a stroller in the trunk and a child seat. Right. So, yeah, whatever.
- 3:11Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Someday. Who cares?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Is that weird?
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yes, dude.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Like my wife would flip if I said, just get
- 3:19Speaker 3: whatever you want. She'd be like, what? Because usually it's like,
- 3:23Speaker 3: she'll say like, oh, I'm looking at this. I'll be like, oh, no, no, no, no.
- 3:26Speaker 1: It's too much.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Too much.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Tone it down a little bit.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Try something else.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah. No, my wife's reasonable, and if she didn't want
- 3:32Speaker 1: to be reasonable, that would be fine, too.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Have at it. Get two. What do I care?
- 3:36Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Give one to Eddie. Yeah, what do I care? Glad
- 3:40Speaker 1: everybody's here. Eddie looks like an eggplant today, and I
- 3:43Speaker 1: said that to him earlier, and he got offended.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I don't understand.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I don't think it's bad. That is just a very...
- 3:50Speaker 1: purple color and i'm not someone who's known for knowing
- 3:52Speaker 1: colors but i know an eggplant color when i see
- 3:54Speaker 1: one you know what you're right is it because the
- 3:55Speaker 1: emoji that's exactly what it is it's the he's the
- 3:58Speaker 1: wiener emoji yeah i.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Didn't realize it is the exact color of an eggplant
- 4:03Speaker 3: because there are different shades of purple yeah right this
- 4:05Speaker 3: is eggplant purple i didn't realize that.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It's very feminine it is yeah yeah of course it's
- 4:11Speaker 1: something i would wear well hold on what do you
- 4:13Speaker 1: mean by that I don't mind sliding down the feminine
- 4:17Speaker 1: side a little bit and wearing different clothes that you
- 4:20Speaker 1: or dudes would go, I don't know, PGP wearing.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Oh, I've never been like that. Like pink, love wearing pink.
- 4:26Speaker 1: That's that. Okay.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm cool with it. But dude, I don't normally
- 4:30Speaker 3: dress like this. And then today I was just like-
- 4:31Speaker 3: You've worn.
- 4:31Speaker 1: It one other time.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And I didn't say anything purposefully this time. You thought
- 4:34Speaker 1: it though. As soon as he walked in the morning,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I was like, eggplant, gotta say it. I can't hold
- 4:38Speaker 1: it back. You look like an eggplant.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Dang.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So it's a good shirt though.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Thank you, man.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I got it at- I don't know where I got it.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I have no idea. Like, I don't buy my clothes. Like,
- 4:50Speaker 3: I don't know the last time I bought clothes.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So how do you get clothes?
- 4:53Speaker 3: My wife comes home with clothes. She's like, I saw
- 4:55Speaker 3: this at the store. I thought you might like it.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I love it. Free stuff, you know. A lot of
- 5:01Speaker 3: that athletic wear that we got at these colleges. I
- 5:04Speaker 3: still wear those. I still wear the crap out of this.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I was wearing those BYU shorts that we got from
- 5:08Speaker 1: BYU the other day. And some guy comes up and
- 5:10Speaker 1: just yells something at me. And I thought... I was like, what?
- 5:14Speaker 1: It had to be something. Go Cubs, but they're not playing.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And Caitlin was with me and she goes, what did
- 5:18Speaker 1: he yell? I said, go Cubs. And then that's all
- 5:21Speaker 1: I remember. And then we kept walking and someone else goes,
- 5:26Speaker 1: go Cougs. And I was like, oh, Cougs, BYU. He
- 5:29Speaker 1: was yelling at the shorts. And when that first guy
- 5:31Speaker 1: said that, I just looked at him like, huh?
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And he had to feel weird because he sees someone
- 5:37Speaker 1: wearing BYU stuff. He probably went to BYU or was
- 5:39Speaker 1: a fan. He goes, go Cougs. And the guy who's
- 5:41Speaker 1: also should be go Cougans like, huh?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Did I remember we were hiking somewhere and I had
- 5:47Speaker 3: a Cowboys hat on. My cap said Cowboys. I had
- 5:51Speaker 3: an Arizona shirt on. And then I had. like Cincinnati
- 5:56Speaker 3: shorts on.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 5:58Speaker 3: And I heard the guy walk by me like, oh,
- 6:00Speaker 3: that guy's a little confused.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You were Neapolitan ice cream.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, everything.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So I've heard from a birdie that we're going to
- 6:08Speaker 1: another game this weekend. I know.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I just heard that.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So my wife is like, hey, I'll go to the
- 6:14Speaker 1: Vanderbilt game. They're like, awesome. I'm trying to get her
- 6:15Speaker 1: to go to every game. She will never go. And
- 6:18Speaker 1: so since it's here, she's like, yeah, I'll go. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: was like, great. And I'm going to buy tickets because
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm not sitting in the Arkansas part because– away seat
- 6:25Speaker 1: tickets are like in the corner. They stick the away
- 6:27Speaker 1: teams in a crappy spot.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Okay, yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And so I'm just going to buy tickets. And she
- 6:32Speaker 1: was like, who do we want to go with this?
- 6:34Speaker 1: I said, who do you want to go with this?
- 6:35Speaker 1: She goes, what about, you know, Eddie's wife and Eddie?
- 6:38Speaker 1: I said, you can ask. I said, I would ask now.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I said, I'm not going to ask Eddie because it's
- 6:41Speaker 1: going to seem like we're just plotting to go to
- 6:43Speaker 1: another game.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I said, but if you ask Eddie's wife and you
- 6:46Speaker 1: say it was your idea, there's a chance that they'd
- 6:49Speaker 1: want to go. And so she... texted Eddie's wife and
- 6:54Speaker 1: Chevy back. She was like, yeah, I think they're going
- 6:55Speaker 1: to go.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I was like, great.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Nice.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Dude, it was amazing. It was the first time where
- 6:58Speaker 3: I didn't have to be like, all right, I got
- 6:59Speaker 3: to wait for the right time to ask.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Make sure that she's in a good mood.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Well, you didn't even know. I didn't even invite you
- 7:05Speaker 1: because we went last weekend. Correct.
- 7:06Speaker 3: So my wife texted me. She's like, hey, I got
- 7:08Speaker 3: to ask you a question. Call me whenever.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't know. Oh, no.
- 7:11Speaker 1: So I'm like, great.
- 7:12Speaker 3: She's pregnant again.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Oh, no. Even worse.
- 7:15Speaker 1: It gets worse.
- 7:16Speaker 3: So then I call her and she's just like, hey,
- 7:18Speaker 3: we got invited to go to the Arkansas game.
- 7:20Speaker 1: All right.
- 7:20Speaker 3: No she said the Vandy game and I go oh
- 7:24Speaker 3: who invited us to go to the Vandy game like
- 7:26Speaker 3: that's awkward they're playing Arkansas she's like no no no
- 7:28Speaker 3: Caitlin invited us and I'm like oh I don't know
- 7:33Speaker 3: I played it like you know cool like we just
- 7:37Speaker 3: went to the game in Arkansas yes let's.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Go so we're going dude yeah it's gonna be awesome
- 7:45Speaker 5: wasn't really my idea I know that's even better But
- 7:48Speaker 5: when she said, you should ask Eddie, I said, no,
- 7:50Speaker 5: this is your idea.
- 7:51Speaker 1: If I ask Eddie and then he says to his wife,
- 7:55Speaker 1: it's going to seem like you guys just got coupled
- 7:58Speaker 1: in so Eddie could go.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Yes. Yes.
- 8:01Speaker 3: So smart, dude.
- 8:01Speaker 4: But it wasn't.
- 8:02Speaker 3: It was the opposite.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Strategy, man.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Good job.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Now, do you think your wife had to think like, oh,
- 8:06Speaker 1: I got to catch Eddie at the right time? Good question.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Good question. I think she was like, I probably don't
- 8:12Speaker 3: even need.
- 8:12Speaker 4: To ask Eddie.
- 8:13Speaker 1: What about the kids? Who's watching the kids?
- 8:15Speaker 3: My oldest son. He's 18.
- 8:17Speaker 1: He's good. And he's okay on a Saturday night staying home?
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 1: He's okay or he has to be okay?
- 8:21Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 8:21Speaker 3: He's okay. He orders pizza. He's a pro at it now.
- 8:24Speaker 3: And then he puts on movies. Puts on one movie.
- 8:27Speaker 3: If we're running a little late, you put on two movies.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I mean, dude, babysitting is so easy.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Ugh.
- 8:33Speaker 1: But not three boys. Maybe now.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Just put on a movie. Even the babysitters that we
- 8:39Speaker 3: used to get when my oldest was younger, I feel
- 8:43Speaker 3: like they had it easy too. But we kept losing
- 8:45Speaker 3: babysitters left and right.
- 8:46Speaker 1: They were dying?
- 8:47Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no.
- 8:48Speaker 1: They never were found?
- 8:49Speaker 3: Almost, dude. My kids would drive them so crazy that
- 8:51Speaker 3: they would quit. They would ghost me.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Well- It'll be fun.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Can't wait.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We're going to win this game. Sweet.
- 9:00Speaker 3: What's our situation?
- 9:01Speaker 1: It's not my school. We'll be in the stands.
- 9:03Speaker 4: A field?
- 9:04Speaker 1: No, it's not my school.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:07Speaker 1: No free food?
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah, free food.
- 9:08Speaker 1: No, we're going to a game like a normal person.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Dang. Oh, dang.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Haven't done that in a while.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I haven't either.
- 9:14Speaker 4: No.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I have a lot of Arkansas people that are coming in.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And so I liked it. work for the program or
- 9:21Speaker 1: the administration. And so I'm gonna see them, but I'm
- 9:23Speaker 1: not asking them for anything just because it's kind of
- 9:25Speaker 1: awkward with me constantly complaining about that leadership. I just,
- 9:30Speaker 1: you know, I'm not even asking. I could easily get tickets,
- 9:33Speaker 1: but then you're in a bad part of the stadium
- 9:35Speaker 1: where they put the away fans.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Do they see your tweets?
- 9:37Speaker 1: They do.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Probably, okay.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I did not expect as many people did. You
- 9:41Speaker 1: were with me. Oh, every one. Every time we'd go somewhere,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I wasn't a big fan of the show. I was like, hey,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I haven't seen your tweets.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Keep it up.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Really? Keep those tweets coming. I've done 30 days in
- 9:49Speaker 1: a row, every day on my Twitter, which is now
- 9:51Speaker 1: at Bobby Bones, where I am just reflecting on the
- 9:56Speaker 1: last decade of incompetence.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Dang. Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Every day. For 30 days in a row. And people
- 10:02Speaker 1: love it because you are a voice for them. I
- 10:04Speaker 1: didn't know if they loved it or not. I don't
- 10:06Speaker 1: think I represent anybody except myself. But I get some messages.
- 10:11Speaker 1: But Twitter's weird. It's mostly Russian bots anyway.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 1: But when we went to the game, dude, 20 times.
- 10:18Speaker 3: And they would say like, hey, those daily tweets, keep
- 10:21Speaker 3: them coming. And I'm thinking like, what is he tweeting daily?
- 10:25Speaker 3: That's what he's doing.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Like three and four and five minute videos every day.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I just go sit down and talk to the camera.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I've seen a couple, but I didn't know you were
- 10:30Speaker 1: doing it every day. 30 days in a row. If
- 10:32Speaker 1: I miss a day, I'll quit totally. I'm on a
- 10:34Speaker 1: streak right now. So I'm like, I want a Snapchat streak.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I don't want to break it.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Do you, do you build this in your head throughout
- 10:39Speaker 6: the day? And then you're like, this is what I'm
- 10:40Speaker 6: going to say. Or does it just like, I'm just
- 10:42Speaker 6: going firing away right now.
- 10:43Speaker 1: The first couple of days I was just firing away,
- 10:45Speaker 1: but then you kind of run out of stuff.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And so I keep a notes app and I read
- 10:50Speaker 1: something and I comment on it. And then I pull
- 10:52Speaker 1: up my notes app and I kind of get in
- 10:53Speaker 1: my head and then just do it.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Nice.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It's been going pretty good. Sometimes it's stupid. Like when
- 10:57Speaker 1: my car broke down, I was in my car and
- 10:59Speaker 1: it was kind of dark outside. And I said, I'm
- 11:00Speaker 1: waiting for a tow truck. I'm broken down on the
- 11:02Speaker 1: side of the road. This is a metaphor for our program.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Oh, nice.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So sometimes stuff like that would happen. That's organic. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 1: That organic content. But they know, like, I go hard
- 11:15Speaker 1: at our athletic director without actually saying his name. But
- 11:18Speaker 1: I'm like, it's been a leadership failure. Yeah. I actually emailed,
- 11:22Speaker 1: because the board of trustees is who makes up at
- 11:25Speaker 1: a university, a public university. It may be private, too.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But the board of trustees are appointed by the governor,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and they actually make the decisions. And so I was
- 11:32Speaker 1: emailing the board of trustees just on the right school address.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Dang. I know.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Off from the website?
- 11:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty pissed.
- 11:38Speaker 1: CCing them. I got a response. Really? Was it like
- 11:42Speaker 1: a generic response or like, oh, nice. Yeah, we got
- 11:46Speaker 1: a response. And I'm not going to say what they said.
- 11:50Speaker 1: But I was surprised I got a response. Yeah, same.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Because they were like launching a campaign, email the board
- 11:54Speaker 1: of trustees. And I'm like, don't mind if I do.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You got it. Yeah. Yeah, it's just bad. Scan this
- 11:58Speaker 1: QR code. Okay. It's the worst it's ever been. Okay.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So let's start with this question. This is mostly at you.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Oh, Cowboys.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I thought it was because of you. Can you be
- 12:10Speaker 1: a fan and still be a hater? Now, you love
- 12:13Speaker 1: the team.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 1: But you're constantly criticizing them. You're saying it's over. Because
- 12:17Speaker 1: you could say this a bit with Arkansas and me too.
- 12:20Speaker 1: You still complain, but you still wear the logo. Can
- 12:23Speaker 1: you be a fan and a hater at the same time?
- 12:25Speaker 1: What's the line?
- 12:26Speaker 3: I'm going to say no. Like, I do not like
- 12:30Speaker 3: our fans that turn on the team.
- 12:32Speaker 1: You do that.
- 12:33Speaker 3: No, I don't.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yes, you do. Oh, my God. Everybody, is he insane
- 12:36Speaker 1: right now? He's ready to burn it down every time
- 12:39Speaker 1: he loses.
- 12:39Speaker 3: When you lose, you're like, we're done this year. Guys, look,
- 12:42Speaker 3: I start the season very optimistic, right? This is just
- 12:45Speaker 3: kind of how it goes every year. And then after
- 12:47Speaker 3: a few games, you start realizing that we're not going
- 12:50Speaker 3: to the Super Bowl like I thought I did two
- 12:51Speaker 3: weeks ago. So then you start just protecting your heart
- 12:54Speaker 3: a little bit, not by hating on the team, but
- 12:57Speaker 3: by being realistic.
- 12:58Speaker 1: It manifests itself through hate. You may not know that.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I don't feel the hate.
- 13:02Speaker 1: You say it. Like, we suck. We're a joke. We
- 13:05Speaker 1: already guys need to work harder.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 3: But then a win will turn that around real quick.
- 13:11Speaker 3: You know, like if we beat the Packers this weekend.
- 13:14Speaker 1: We're back, baby.
- 13:16Speaker 4: You know?
- 13:17Speaker 3: So it's not hating your team.
- 13:18Speaker 1: It's just being a hater. There's a difference.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I don't, I will never hate the Dallas Cowboys, but
- 13:22Speaker 3: you're a hater.
- 13:23Speaker 1: It's all love.
- 13:24Speaker 3: You know, it's like your wife, you love your wife,
- 13:26Speaker 3: but sometimes you get upset with her. Sometimes you get
- 13:28Speaker 3: a little disappointed with her, but overall you love her.
- 13:33Speaker 3: That's me and the Cowboys.
- 13:34Speaker 1: My views don't reflect what he just said. You get
- 13:37Speaker 1: a little disappointed in there. That feels like.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Well, you know, like you have little arguments and you're
- 13:42Speaker 3: just like.
- 13:44Speaker 1: How you said it, it's like you're the head and
- 13:47Speaker 1: nobody questions the head and you get disappointed in your
- 13:49Speaker 1: children and your wife. That's what it felt like.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I didn't say that.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You know what it felt like? You're the boss. And
- 13:55Speaker 1: the boss is getting disappointed in his employees.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Not disappointed.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You just said that. This is like when you say
- 14:00Speaker 1: you don't hate on the Cowboys. You do. But that's okay.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Right now, I can be a hater towards parts of
- 14:06Speaker 1: the Arkansas Razorback athletic program. I will never hate the team,
- 14:11Speaker 1: but I can be a little hater sometimes at parts
- 14:13Speaker 1: of it that I think are affecting us in a
- 14:14Speaker 1: negative way.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's not being a hater.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Could be.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You can be a hater but not hate the team.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:21Speaker 1: That's interesting. So I think you think he's asking, like,
- 14:23Speaker 1: do you hate your team if you're a hater?
- 14:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Not necessarily.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I will never hate my team. I get disappointed with
- 14:29Speaker 3: the team. I get my feelings hurt with how they perform.
- 14:33Speaker 3: But I'll never turn on my team.
- 14:35Speaker 1: That's not true. You turn on the team every three weeks.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Brandon, on the other hand, he will not tell people
- 14:39Speaker 3: he's a Cowboys fan if they're playing really bad.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That is not true. You know?
- 14:43Speaker 3: That's not true.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Why are you throwing him.
- 14:44Speaker 4: On the bus?
- 14:45Speaker 1: He doesn't have a camera on him and you're throwing
- 14:46Speaker 1: him on the bus.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Because he's a Cowboys fan. Mike's a Cowboys fan. He
- 14:49Speaker 3: will always claim the Cowboys.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I claim the Cowboys?
- 14:52Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 14:53Speaker 1: He's looking to put this on someone else. He comes
- 14:56Speaker 1: on here every third of the weekend as a hater.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I don't hate. I love my Cowboys. I just am
- 15:02Speaker 3: realistic sometimes.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Sometimes. So did I answer your question properly? No, you lied.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Okay. Top 10 worst contracts in NFL history.
- 15:12Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Kevin, what comes to mind? Can you name one? Albert Hainsworth.
- 15:16Speaker 1: At number two on the list from 2009, at the
- 15:20Speaker 1: time there were the Washington Redskins, Albert Hainsworth signed a seven-year,
- 15:24Speaker 1: $ 100 million deal. He played 20 games.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Dang.
- 15:29Speaker 1: He was the first 100 million guy, I think, too, right?
- 15:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And not just 20 games because he's also had a
- 15:34Speaker 1: terrible attitude. Yes. I think he was a bad person
- 15:38Speaker 1: in general. Yeah. Okay. Tua. Not yet.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Oh, dang. Because he's still playing.
- 15:45Speaker 1: He's still in the contract. He could win a couple
- 15:46Speaker 1: Super Bowls in this deal.
- 15:47Speaker 3: There's still a chance.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Gotta stop throwing those picks. Man, when he went in
- 15:50Speaker 1: and threw the pick in overtime, my heart hurt for him.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Dude, I'll tell you, as soon as he hits the field,
- 15:56Speaker 3: I start feeling like, please don't get hit. Like, don't
- 15:58Speaker 3: get hit in the head.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Like, no more.
- 16:00Speaker 1: He didn't get hit in the head last year, so
- 16:02Speaker 1: I feel like we're a bit removed from it.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but he still has that. How many times has
- 16:05Speaker 3: he gotten a concussion?
- 16:06Speaker 1: I just felt bad for him. He goes in and
- 16:08Speaker 1: throws a pick immediately.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Like, third play or something. Second or third play.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I think third. All right, Eddie, can you name
- 16:14Speaker 1: a bad contract?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Zeke Elliott.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Is that just your heart?
- 16:18Speaker 3: You mean a hater? That was a bad one, dude.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Is he on the list?
- 16:23Speaker 4: No.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Oh. Was it a bad one? I love that deal
- 16:25Speaker 1: because I'm a Cowboys fan. Real Cowboys fans love it.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Anything else come to mind, Kevin? The number one which
- 16:32Speaker 1: should really stand out.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I know.
- 16:33Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to think. This is the top
- 16:35Speaker 1: ten worst contracts in NFL history. To be fair, we
- 16:38Speaker 1: said we couldn't count two as because he was still playing.
- 16:41Speaker 1: That's not accurate here with this one. The number one
- 16:44Speaker 1: all-time worst NFL contract is playing right now. He's playing
- 16:48Speaker 1: right now. And he's in the middle of his deal. Oh,
- 16:50Speaker 1: it's Deshaun Watson.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Yes.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Duh.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Five years, $ 230 million, fully guaranteed. First time that ever happened. Crazy.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And he's actually okay this year, but what a terrible deal.
- 17:01Speaker 3: And that contract was after his stuff.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Teams are fighting for him. I believe this is year
- 17:07Speaker 1: four of the deal. You may look that up, but
- 17:10Speaker 1: I believe it's year four of the deal. If not,
- 17:13Speaker 1: that's terrible.
- 17:15Speaker 3: If it's three or.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Two, if it's five, that'd be pretty amazing.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Russell Wilson in 2022, five years, $ 245 million.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 1: The Broncos. That was hard to trade him. It was
- 17:26Speaker 1: hard to move him. Yeah, because they had to take
- 17:28Speaker 1: on that salary, too. And he went to the Giants
- 17:31Speaker 1: and was still making a ton of money.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Yeah. Steelers, yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Steelers?
- 17:35Speaker 4: Yeah. Both, right?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah. And he was still making all that money from
- 17:38Speaker 1: the Broncos, so they were having to pay him like
- 17:39Speaker 1: five bucks a year. So they were getting a quarterback cheap.
- 17:43Speaker 3: That's right.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 1: What did you say about it? Fifth year. This is
- 17:48Speaker 1: the last year of that deal? That's what it says.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson is in his fifth and final year.
- 17:51Speaker 3: That's good.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Hey, things are looking up, Browns. Then they need to
- 17:55Speaker 1: lose more and get a quarterback. What are they doing
- 17:57Speaker 1: winning games? Next up, it's a quarterback. The year was 2007.
- 18:03Speaker 1: This was a six-year, $ 61 million deal. They should have
- 18:08Speaker 1: drafted Calvin Johnson instead. I was going to say, was
- 18:10Speaker 1: he a rookie?
- 18:11Speaker 3: He was, yeah.
- 18:12Speaker 1: So it was Jamarcus Russell.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Jamarcus Russell. Oh, wow.
- 18:14Speaker 1: He was out of the league in three years.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Ugh.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Dang, those rookie contracts were long back then. Back then
- 18:20Speaker 1: they were really long and they were really fat. Like
- 18:22Speaker 1: I remember whenever maybe the quarterback from Oklahoma, Sam. Yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 1: Sam Bradford. Sam Bradford. I think he was the last
- 18:30Speaker 1: really big one. Yep. And then after that, we got
- 18:33Speaker 1: to put some restraints on this.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 1: At number five, the Texans, the year is 2016. He
- 18:39Speaker 1: was a quarterback. Four years, $ 72 million. That's a matchup.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Brock Osweiler.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Brock Osweiler.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Four years for $ 72 million. And basically, they paid a
- 18:52Speaker 1: pick to a team to take him so they could
- 18:53Speaker 1: dump the salary.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Was it the Broncos?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Did he have the Broncos?
- 18:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Or he beat the Patriots.
- 18:59Speaker 6: He came in as like a backup from Peyton and
- 19:00Speaker 6: beat the Patriots.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And it was like, oh, he's the guy. At number
- 19:04Speaker 1: six from 2019, New York Jets, a running back. Who?
- 19:09Speaker 4: Le'Veon. Yep.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Four years, $ 52 million. He averaged 3.2 yards a carry.
- 19:14Speaker 1: But also, the Jets sucked.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 1: It's kind of hard to be worth $ 52 million with
- 19:21Speaker 1: great stats and wins whenever you're playing for the Jets.
- 19:24Speaker 1: They still suck. They still are pretty bad. Pretty bad.
- 19:27Speaker 3: That was his second contract?
- 19:29Speaker 1: Probably. Remember, he didn't play a whole year because he
- 19:32Speaker 1: wanted to be paid as a receiver and running back.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Nick Foles at seven in 2019, he signed a four-year
- 19:40Speaker 1: $ 88 million contract, and he went 0-4 as a starter
- 19:43Speaker 1: in that deal. I get that, but he also won
- 19:45Speaker 1: a Super Bowl before that. But you should never get
- 19:47Speaker 1: paid on what you did before. He signed that with
- 19:49Speaker 1: the Jaguars.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Oh gosh I remember that those are bad days.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yeah number 8 is a quarterback that's playing now he's
- 19:58Speaker 1: actually starting now but he signed a 4 year 160
- 20:02Speaker 1: million dollar deal and was released from the team Kirk
- 20:04Speaker 1: Cousins nope really.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Baker released from the team 2023.
- 20:11Speaker 4: A.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Quarterback signed four-year, 160. It was controversial that they signed
- 20:19Speaker 1: him to that deal because he was in his rookie
- 20:22Speaker 1: deal and they had to make a decision. New coach
- 20:25Speaker 1: was there, so the new coach had to make the decision.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Sam Darnall?
- 20:29Speaker 1: No. NFC East.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Oh, NFC East.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He's starting right now for another team and actually had
- 20:36Speaker 1: a pretty good season last year until he got injured.
- 20:40Speaker 1: And he's playing okay this year considering he's coming off
- 20:43Speaker 1: of an Achilles injury.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Achilles.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Why am I blanking right now? I know.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Giants?
- 20:50Speaker 3: Was he a Giants player?
- 20:51Speaker 1: Cowboys, not some Cowboys. Giants?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Jackson, no.
- 20:55Speaker 4: No.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Who was before Jackson? This team was influenced heavily by
- 21:01Speaker 1: Peyton Manning, who vouched for this person in the draft.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I think he was maybe drafted six or seven or
- 21:07Speaker 1: eight that year. I don't actually have that data here.
- 21:10Speaker 1: But I know he was one of the early picks.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Oh, Daniel Jones?
- 21:14Speaker 1: Daniel Jones.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Oh.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And he got released. That's right.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Dang, he was not coming up in my head at all.
- 21:22Speaker 3: I forgot about that.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You guys said Giants, and you kept moving off.
- 21:24Speaker 4: I know.
- 21:24Speaker 1: We were on it. Who did the Giants have before Jackson?
- 21:27Speaker 1: No chance you get this one, but I'll give you
- 21:28Speaker 1: 15 seconds to try. 2021 New York Giants, wide receiver,
- 21:32Speaker 1: four years, $ 72 million, zero touchdowns in year one of
- 21:36Speaker 1: that deal.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 21:40Speaker 1: New York Giants 2021, four years, $ 72 million.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Victor Cruz?
- 21:47Speaker 4: No.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I remember this guy not scoring. I just can't remember
- 21:51Speaker 1: his name right now. Kenny Galladay. Yeah, Kenny Galladay. And
- 21:54Speaker 1: then at number 10, five years, $ 60 million, was a
- 21:57Speaker 1: defensive back. He was cut after two years. And he
- 22:02Speaker 1: is also married to an actress, or was. I don't
- 22:04Speaker 1: know if they're still together.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Is it Nnamdi?
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Nnamdi Asamoah. Asamoah, yeah.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Wow.
- 22:09Speaker 1: He was so good and then just wasn't. Five years,
- 22:12Speaker 1: $ 60 million, and then got cut. Yes. That is crazy.
- 22:15Speaker 1: On the Eagles super team.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 1: You guys want to talk about your teams? Everybody gets
- 22:19Speaker 1: 60 seconds. Eddie, this week, go.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Yeah, we have the Packers. We're playing in Lambeau. Should
- 22:24Speaker 3: be a good one. I think we can actually win
- 22:26Speaker 3: this game. The whole talk of Micah Parsons coming back,
- 22:31Speaker 3: it's not going to happen. They're saying that Micah's not
- 22:33Speaker 3: going to come back for this game, which would.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Have been– I wouldn't either if I were him and
- 22:36Speaker 1: it were even– 70%. Yeah. Any other game, possibly, but
- 22:40Speaker 1: you don't want to come back against a team you
- 22:41Speaker 1: were traded from and not be able to perform.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:45Speaker 3: And also, I don't know what this is going to
- 22:46Speaker 3: do for the Cowboys, but Jerry Jones says that our
- 22:50Speaker 3: defensive coordinator is now going to be calling the plays
- 22:53Speaker 3: from the booth and no longer going to be on
- 22:54Speaker 3: the field. He believes that if you're going to coach
- 22:57Speaker 3: the defense, you need to see the whole thing. Get
- 22:59Speaker 3: up to the top.
- 23:01Speaker 1: That's not some revolutionary new theory.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I know but it's weird to me that you do
- 23:06Speaker 3: like as a defensive coordinator just stay at the bottom
- 23:08Speaker 3: like you don't see anything why wouldn't you want to
- 23:10Speaker 3: see the bird's.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Eye view because you want to be on the field
- 23:13Speaker 1: and talk to your team yeah you can get the
- 23:15Speaker 1: feel for the game get the little telephone but also
- 23:17Speaker 1: talk to multiple players at once I mean when they
- 23:19Speaker 1: show him on TV he's not talking to anyone he
- 23:21Speaker 1: looks sad I would also look sad yeah if that
- 23:24Speaker 1: was my defense yeah it's not even the coordinator's fault
- 23:27Speaker 1: it's you don't have the horses to run the race
- 23:29Speaker 1: they can't.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Even like tackle no they can't tackle.
- 23:31Speaker 6: I just want to say, unlike Eddie, I truly believe
- 23:34Speaker 6: in this defensive coordinator and his abilities.
- 23:37Speaker 4: He's a real fan.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Not a hater, real fan.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Wow, listen to that.
- 23:39Speaker 1: All right, Kevin, 60 seconds.
- 23:40Speaker 6: Yeah, we got the Jets. The Patriots have the Jets
- 23:43Speaker 6: this week at home. Coming off a couple big wins.
- 23:46Speaker 6: Drake Mays looking great. And I'm worried about a trap game,
- 23:49Speaker 6: of course. Because there's always these games where you're like,
- 23:51Speaker 6: we should win.
- 23:52Speaker 1: It's the Jets.
- 23:53Speaker 6: We're seven and a half point favorites. But we've had
- 23:55Speaker 6: two very good weeks in a row in the NFL.
- 23:57Speaker 6: You're like, it's going to fall at some point. Maybe
- 23:59Speaker 6: that's pessimistic of me, but that's the way I'm thinking
- 24:01Speaker 6: right now.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Also, didn't the Jets beat the Browns last week?
- 24:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Was that last week?
- 24:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 4: NFL, man.
- 24:06Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Any given Sunday.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Game of inches. Is that what they say? All the
- 24:12Speaker 1: same phrases. I think we win a game this week.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Arkansas does. I think we beat Vanderbilt. Although Vanderbilt needs
- 24:19Speaker 1: a win to actually be in the mix. If there
- 24:21Speaker 1: is a game that we're going to win, it's this game. So,
- 24:25Speaker 1: feeling pretty good. I'd like to have Three wins on
- 24:28Speaker 1: the season. I know we play South Carolina. That's probably
- 24:31Speaker 1: the only other game we'd have a chance to win in.
- 24:32Speaker 1: But you never know. Game of Inches. SEC Game of Inches.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Any given Saturday.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Any given Saturday. Saturday for the boys.
- 24:38Speaker 2: It's a night game, too.
- 24:39Speaker 1: That'll be fun.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And I haven't been to the new stadium.
- 24:42Speaker 3: No, neither have I. I haven't been to a single
- 24:44Speaker 3: game there.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Or the stadium that has new parts to it.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Yes, because it's the same stadium.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Renovated, but parts of the stadium. Renovated.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It looks nice. Looking forward to it. And the weather
- 24:53Speaker 1: will be kind of like 50s. Perfect.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Upper 50s.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Perfect.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Dang, dude.
- 24:57Speaker 3: So, are we wearing red?
- 24:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Just making sure.
- 25:01Speaker 1: We're just in the normal. We're in Gen Pop. With
- 25:04Speaker 1: Arkansas fans, right? No, we're in Gen. I don't even
- 25:06Speaker 1: have tickets yet. Oh. We're in Gen Pop.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Wait, wait, wait.
- 25:08Speaker 3: You haven't got the tickets yet?
- 25:09Speaker 1: No.
- 25:09Speaker 3: What are you going to just get on?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Dude, both teams sucked. They're like a buck.
- 25:12Speaker 3: What are you going to get on?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Seat Geek. Yeah. Go and get tickets. Seat Geek.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Seat Geek.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I need to do that today, though.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah, dude.
- 25:20Speaker 1: So, yeah. Mike, Texas Longhorns.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Optimistic, but I'm nervous.
- 25:23Speaker 1: About?
- 25:24Speaker 4: The offense.
- 25:25Speaker 1: The offense looked terrible last week. We're just struggling. Florida's
- 25:28Speaker 1: also coming off a loss.
- 25:30Speaker 3: That's scary.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Florida could lose three in a row because you know
- 25:33Speaker 1: they feel, hey, back's against the wall. Any given Saturday,
- 25:36Speaker 1: game of inches.
- 25:38Speaker 3: SEC, game of inches.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yep, yep, yep, yep. The football season is heating up
- 25:42Speaker 1: and every week feels bigger with DraftKings. The DraftKings sports
- 25:45Speaker 1: app is now live in all 50 states. That means
- 25:47Speaker 1: from Texas to California to Florida, every fan is in
- 25:51Speaker 1: on the excitement. Follow the teams you love. Keep up
- 25:53Speaker 1: with the biggest games and experience the excitement of football
- 25:56Speaker 1: all week long. No matter which game you're watching, you're
- 25:58Speaker 1: always connected with one app. So this week, the biggest game,
- 26:03Speaker 1: Ohio State at Indiana. I did see where it's the
- 26:06Speaker 1: only time ever there's been, I think, a 20-game win streak,
- 26:10Speaker 1: and the home team is the underdog. So that game
- 26:14Speaker 1: is fun. The Florida and Texas game I think will
- 26:15Speaker 1: be pretty good. Mike, I think you're on to something there.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to play Florida this week after two
- 26:19Speaker 1: bad losses in a row. Mississippi State, LSU. Will be
- 26:23Speaker 1: interesting because whoever loses that, that's an I quit match.
- 26:26Speaker 1: You quit getting to even talk about being in the playoffs.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Missouri Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee– Tennessee shouldn't lose another one
- 26:36Speaker 1: because this is almost an I quit match for them, too.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Has to be. They suck. I thought they lost more
- 26:41Speaker 1: than one. It just seems like they've lost. Well, no,
- 26:43Speaker 1: they lost in their hearts when Arkansas played them within
- 26:44Speaker 1: a possession. That's what it was.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 1: That's what it was. They lost in their hearts on
- 26:47Speaker 1: that one.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a big fan. I just couldn't think
- 26:49Speaker 1: of what it was. And Notre Dame at Go Cougs.

- 27:53Speaker 1: All right, joining us now is Mike Sando, senior NFL
- 27:55Speaker 1: writer for The Athletic. You can follow him on Twitter,
- 27:57Speaker 1: Sando NFL. We had him on before the season talking
- 28:00Speaker 1: about quarterback tiers, which is always so much fun. And Mike,
- 28:03Speaker 1: we appreciate you coming on. And I did want to
- 28:06Speaker 1: start because I was reading your article about the unbeaten teams.
- 28:09Speaker 1: And so the three unbeaten teams left are the 49ers,
- 28:12Speaker 1: the Vikings and the Chiefs. Each of them kind of
- 28:16Speaker 1: has their own story attached. Which one do you feel
- 28:18Speaker 1: like is the most undefeated, if that would be a term?
- 28:23Speaker 4: It's probably the 49ers at this point. I mean, going
- 28:25Speaker 4: into Seattle and winning, I think their defense is probably underrated.
- 28:27Speaker 4: You know, they've had a number of injuries. And there's
- 28:30Speaker 4: some young guys there that people don't know a ton
- 28:32Speaker 4: about that I think are playing decently. Raheem Morris has
- 28:35Speaker 4: given them something. And then the pass game has been,
- 28:37Speaker 4: you know, pretty great. Hit some bumps against Seattle. But
- 28:40Speaker 4: to me, they've kind of, you know, probably proven the most.
- 28:44Speaker 4: And then, you know, Kansas City just has one fewer game.
- 28:46Speaker 4: And I think we've got some question marks with their
- 28:47Speaker 4: injuries at receiver now. Yeah.
- 28:50Speaker 1: We heard Tyreek for a minute. Are you still hearing that?
- 28:52Speaker 4: I'm hearing it could be complicated a little bit. He's
- 28:56Speaker 4: got other stuff going on, you know, and I think,
- 28:59Speaker 4: I mean, is he going to come in and just
- 29:01Speaker 4: be a consistently elite performer, you know, or is he
- 29:05Speaker 4: somebody maybe, maybe he's someone later in the year? You know,
- 29:08Speaker 4: we'll see. I just don't know if you can count
- 29:10Speaker 4: on him for the long term. It sounds like he's got,
- 29:13Speaker 4: you know, his normal stuff off the field that could
- 29:15Speaker 4: hinder him too.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Do you know if they were in the mix at
- 29:17Speaker 1: all for Marvin Harrison Jr., Kansas City?
- 29:20Speaker 4: I don't know that. I didn't hear that. I think
- 29:24Speaker 4: in that case, you have it's a little bit of,
- 29:29Speaker 4: you know, the GM of of Arizona and the GM
- 29:32Speaker 4: of Houston are great old buddies from, you know, going
- 29:35Speaker 4: back to their time in New England. It felt like
- 29:38Speaker 4: it was more limited to Arizona. those guys. And then
- 29:41Speaker 4: the weird delaying of the team he was going to
- 29:45Speaker 4: was a Monty Austin Fort request. He's the GM of Arizona,
- 29:49Speaker 4: honored by Houston. News still got out that there was
- 29:51Speaker 4: going to be a trade. So that felt like it
- 29:53Speaker 4: was pretty much an inside deal to me.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Another undefeated team, the Vikings, and it's been all defense,
- 29:58Speaker 1: although Kyler Murray was efficient last game for sure but
- 30:02Speaker 1: is their defense is it elite and built to be
- 30:05Speaker 1: elite all season long.
- 30:07Speaker 4: I think it is. Look, every defense is going to
- 30:10Speaker 4: have some tough games, and when they play better quarterbacks
- 30:13Speaker 4: and better offenses, they can still have a bad day.
- 30:16Speaker 4: I don't think that they're unbeatable. I do think that
- 30:20Speaker 4: it's too much to ask to make a deep playoff
- 30:22Speaker 4: run without a lot more from your offense. They're limited
- 30:25Speaker 4: a little bit there. They're a little bit too one-dimensional.
- 30:29Speaker 4: I think you've got to be able to threaten teams
- 30:32Speaker 4: more offensively because you're going to play a complete team
- 30:35Speaker 4: in the playoffs, someone who's hot.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I was reading your article that came out on Monday, your,
- 30:39Speaker 1: your latest pick six article. And you did mention Marvin
- 30:41Speaker 1: Harrison jr, which is why I brought it up. And
- 30:43Speaker 1: I've been reading that he was upset because they wouldn't
- 30:46Speaker 1: pay $ 50, 000 for basically a jugs machine or whatever the
- 30:49Speaker 1: interpretation is there. What is the deal with that?
- 30:52Speaker 4: Yeah. So Arizona has got a long reputation of that
- 30:54Speaker 4: type of stuff. What's interesting to me is that when
- 30:57Speaker 4: you have a player like Marvin Harrison jr, there's a
- 31:00Speaker 4: Marvin Harrison senior, you know, and some of these guys, uh,
- 31:05Speaker 4: even though I'm curious what's going on in Houston or
- 31:08Speaker 4: in Cleveland now with Shador Sanders, his dad, who's been
- 31:10Speaker 4: very outspoken in the past, but isn't right now, like
- 31:13Speaker 4: how much of the stuff is being kind of worked
- 31:14Speaker 4: out behind the scenes. Right. And, strategizing going on to
- 31:18Speaker 4: get a guy moved, the jugs machine stuff. I mean,
- 31:21Speaker 4: that would be classic Cardinals stuff. They have a history
- 31:24Speaker 4: going back before I was around covering the league of
- 31:28Speaker 4: being accused of being on the cheap end of stuff
- 31:30Speaker 4: and not traveling as nicely as other teams, not leaving
- 31:33Speaker 4: as early for an East Coast game, all that type
- 31:35Speaker 4: of stuff. So it's plausible. It's plausible with that team. Now,
- 31:39Speaker 4: would every other team honor a request to spend $ 50, 000
- 31:42Speaker 4: for something? Maybe not, but it sounds Arizona-ish.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it does sound Arizona-ish. That's a good way to
- 31:50Speaker 1: describe that. It does sound Arizona-ish. I was looking back
- 31:54Speaker 1: at your quarterback tiers, and you had in Tier 1
- 31:56Speaker 1: Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe Burrow. Instead
- 31:59Speaker 1: of asking who doesn't belong, has anybody moved from Tier
- 32:04Speaker 1: 2 so far this season into Tier 1?
- 32:07Speaker 4: Well, I think the best conversation is going to be
- 32:09Speaker 4: around Brock Purdy. He's had hot streaks before, so I
- 32:13Speaker 4: think people have been slower to put him up. I
- 32:15Speaker 4: think he's been respected but not feared. Does that make sense?
- 32:18Speaker 4: The guys in Tier 1 are typically feared, like, oh
- 32:20Speaker 4: my gosh, we've got to play this guy. At any time,
- 32:24Speaker 4: we're going to have the perfect defense and he's going
- 32:26Speaker 4: to solve it. I don't know that people feel that
- 32:28Speaker 4: way about Purdy, but the respect for him and the
- 32:31Speaker 4: way he's playing this year– You know, it's not like
- 32:35Speaker 4: the run game is totally carrying them. It's not like
- 32:37Speaker 4: the defense is just unbelievable. You know, he was 9
- 32:41Speaker 4: of 10 on the two big drives against Seattle to
- 32:43Speaker 4: win the game. So it'll be interesting to see if
- 32:46Speaker 4: he pushes up above because the top of Tier 2
- 32:49Speaker 4: has been Lamar Jackson, who I think if he plays,
- 32:52Speaker 4: you know, he's always got a case for Tier 1.
- 32:54Speaker 4: And then Justin Herbert's been up there, too, and he's
- 32:55Speaker 4: obviously going to come down. So is Aperte going to
- 32:58Speaker 4: go past that, right, and be just at the brink
- 33:01Speaker 4: of Tier 1? I think we could see that.
- 33:02Speaker 1: What about a trevor lawrence who was at the bottom
- 33:04Speaker 1: of your tier two has he jumped some steps inside
- 33:06Speaker 1: that tier i would.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Think so i think he's moved up because he was
- 33:10Speaker 4: people were kind of down on him for his inconsistent
- 33:12Speaker 4: accuracy as much as anything that was really the number
- 33:15Speaker 4: one disappointment of him all these physical gifts you know
- 33:19Speaker 4: and then he just missed too many throws and it
- 33:21Speaker 4: seems like this year uh those are down you know
- 33:24Speaker 4: he does seem more on point more on time uh
- 33:28Speaker 4: looks good. So I think for sure he's going to,
- 33:31Speaker 4: he should be probably pushing up into that top 10
- 33:33Speaker 4: range now. You know, Dak Prescott's kind of been the
- 33:36Speaker 4: gatekeeper of the top 10, 7, 8, 9, 10, kind
- 33:38Speaker 4: of in there, you know, shouldn't he get, you know,
- 33:40Speaker 4: if he does this the whole season, maybe he gets
- 33:42Speaker 4: into there.
- 33:43Speaker 1: You had CJ Stroud in tier three, and this is
- 33:46Speaker 1: obviously a big contract year for CJ. How do you
- 33:49Speaker 1: feel like he's, they haven't won, they've been in close games,
- 33:52Speaker 1: but how do you feel like he's done so far
- 33:54Speaker 1: trying to make his mark and trying to make some money?
- 33:56Speaker 4: I think he's actually played better than their record. It's
- 33:59Speaker 4: been confounding how they've lost because their defense hasn't been good.
- 34:03Speaker 4: They've been a bottom 10 defense after thinking they were
- 34:06Speaker 4: going to be a top three defense. So that being said,
- 34:09Speaker 4: if they have a disappointing season and miss the playoffs,
- 34:11Speaker 4: I don't think that helps anybody for their contract unless
- 34:13Speaker 4: he was just balling out every week and throwing for
- 34:16Speaker 4: 300 yards and three touchdowns. He's not doing that. So
- 34:19Speaker 4: I don't think it's hurting him. I think those guys
- 34:21Speaker 4: still get paid. I think when you are drafted by
- 34:24Speaker 4: the team, when you're with the team that drafted you,
- 34:27Speaker 4: you tend to get the benefit of the doubt. And
- 34:28Speaker 4: we've seen that with Trevor Lawrence. We saw it with
- 34:32Speaker 4: Tua Tungvalu in Miami, right? It's a little bit harder
- 34:34Speaker 4: to get the deal when you're the Sam Darnold or
- 34:36Speaker 4: the Baker Mayfield, and you're playing maybe somebody better than
- 34:38Speaker 4: those guys, but you're not their guy. So I think
- 34:43Speaker 4: he's still got a good chance of really getting paid.
- 34:45Speaker 1: You mentioned Justin Herbert. earlier like what's happening in san
- 34:50Speaker 1: i guess i'm not san diego anymore that's old me
- 34:52Speaker 1: with the chargers.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Yeah i actually respect the san diego reference most of
- 34:56Speaker 4: the coaches that i talked to still call them san
- 34:58Speaker 4: diego it's like they know where they are it's like
- 35:00Speaker 4: a stubborn thing out of habit i'm not changing but
- 35:03Speaker 4: uh uh he looks like he's lost confidence i think
- 35:05Speaker 4: that the fear for him coming into the year was
- 35:09Speaker 4: he's gotten hit so much that he start you're starting
- 35:11Speaker 4: to play like it right and you start just being
- 35:13Speaker 4: a little bit of a scarred player and this season
- 35:16Speaker 4: has to be increasing that a lot. I mean, there's
- 35:19Speaker 4: tons of attention on him and them. It's not working.
- 35:21Speaker 4: He doesn't look comfortable. He's throwing interceptions. It's not working.
- 35:25Speaker 4: So I think we could see A coordinator change there, which,
- 35:28Speaker 4: you know, Adam Gase is probably in line. I actually
- 35:30Speaker 4: would love to see that because it would just be
- 35:35Speaker 4: a fun experiment to see, like, would the offense actually
- 35:37Speaker 4: get better? You know, I mean, what's what is holding
- 35:39Speaker 4: it back? Are we going to blame two coordinators? Right.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Because Justin Herbert's had a number of years where people
- 35:46Speaker 4: expected a little bit more of him and now a
- 35:48Speaker 4: lot more of him. And there's always been some reason.
- 35:51Speaker 4: But at a certain point, you're the common denominator, too.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts and the Eagles also a little bit on
- 35:56Speaker 1: the struggle bus. What do you think's happening there?
- 35:59Speaker 4: If you had said to me when they were in
- 36:01Speaker 4: the Superbowl, Hey, if you could do, if you could
- 36:04Speaker 4: do five things to destabilize this team around Jalen Hurts,
- 36:07Speaker 4: that's okay. Uh, have Jason Kelsey retire, Lane Johnson retire,
- 36:11Speaker 4: have some other injuries on the offensive line. Let's have
- 36:14Speaker 4: Jeff Stoutland, their line coach leave, you know, let's have
- 36:16Speaker 4: Saquon Barkley be banged up and let's take away AJ Brown.
- 36:19Speaker 4: And that's kind of where they are to me. Uh,
- 36:21Speaker 4: You know, they've diminished their rosters, diminished. So they're hanging
- 36:25Speaker 4: around nonetheless. They probably should have beat the Rams. I
- 36:28Speaker 4: think they're three and two now. And if they can
- 36:31Speaker 4: just sort of weather it and get Saquon Barkley back,
- 36:33Speaker 4: kind of figure out what they're doing, not panic too early.
- 36:36Speaker 4: You know, it's always been the same story with the
- 36:38Speaker 4: offensive coordinator under heat and all of that. I get it.
- 36:41Speaker 4: But if they can just ride it out, I mean,
- 36:43Speaker 4: this division is kind of there for somebody. and that's
- 36:47Speaker 4: why I don't think they're in like a sales mode
- 36:49Speaker 4: or anything like that. I think the Cam Juergens trade
- 36:51Speaker 4: with a second round pick, they could get more than
- 36:53Speaker 4: a fire sale. And so I'm not writing them off.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I think I'm writing them off as like win the
- 36:58Speaker 4: Super Bowl team, but I think they could still contend
- 37:00Speaker 4: for that division. Okay.
- 37:02Speaker 1: In that division, the Cowboys, is the division there for
- 37:05Speaker 1: them to take?
- 37:05Speaker 4: Yeah. I think at any, you know, I think they're
- 37:09Speaker 4: going to have a top 10 offense, certainly maybe even
- 37:11Speaker 4: top five. So they have to figure out Can the
- 37:14Speaker 4: defense get better over the course of a season? And
- 37:16Speaker 4: we do see that happen sometimes. The concern was you've
- 37:19Speaker 4: got a first-time D coordinator, and so he has no
- 37:22Speaker 4: track record of that. I think they brought in Mike Pettin,
- 37:24Speaker 4: who's been a D coordinator and a head coach in
- 37:26Speaker 4: the past. That has the possibility of helping them some.
- 37:30Speaker 4: I think we've seen veteran coordinators. Steve Spagnuolo's had some
- 37:34Speaker 4: rough games out of the gates before, and they've stabilized it.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Mike McDonald, when he first started as a coordinator in
- 37:39Speaker 4: Baltimore and then even in Seattle as the head coach,
- 37:41Speaker 4: the first half of the year was kind of not
- 37:43Speaker 4: that good defensively. So less confidence in the Cowboys' ability
- 37:47Speaker 4: to do that because the coordinator's got no track record.
- 37:49Speaker 4: But with Mike Pettin in there, maybe they're closer. They
- 37:52Speaker 4: just need to be 20th on defense, not 35th out
- 37:56Speaker 4: of a 32-team league.
- 37:58Speaker 1: And they might be 35th out of a 32-team league.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Eddie. We have a lot of Cowboys fans
- 38:02Speaker 1: on this show, and they're miserable. I mean, it feels
- 38:05Speaker 1: like every week we come, they're miserable.
- 38:07Speaker 4: It's tough, and it's every year. So I'm with you.
- 38:11Speaker 4: I don't have a lot of faith in them ultimately,
- 38:14Speaker 4: but I thought they would be better than this. I
- 38:15Speaker 4: actually thought defensively they would be a lot better than
- 38:19Speaker 4: they are. So maybe that does speak to what's going
- 38:22Speaker 4: on from a coaching standpoint.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Is there anything to the fact that preseason isn't as real,
- 38:27Speaker 1: players aren't playing, and someone like Drake May starts in
- 38:29Speaker 1: struggles and then kind of gets his groove?
- 38:32Speaker 2: Do you think?
- 38:33Speaker 1: Not having a preseason actually matters?
- 38:35Speaker 4: It could, yeah. I think that's on a case-by-case basis.
- 38:38Speaker 4: But I think for these young players in particular, it
- 38:42Speaker 4: could help them to get more reps. If you can't play,
- 38:46Speaker 4: you're not going to start playing good later if you're
- 38:49Speaker 4: not good. But I do think there is something to
- 38:51Speaker 4: just practicing football, right? It's all limited down in the offseason.
- 38:55Speaker 4: And I need to update this, but I had this
- 38:57Speaker 4: kind of like a thing showing the amount of snaps
- 39:00Speaker 4: that starting quarterbacks have played in the preseason over the years,
- 39:03Speaker 4: and it goes like this. And then the other thing
- 39:05Speaker 4: that's happened on top of that is the position in
- 39:09Speaker 4: the last three years has gotten super young. You know,
- 39:11Speaker 4: we used to have Phillip Rivers and Drew Brees and
- 39:15Speaker 4: Matt Ryan and all of these guys were still playing
- 39:18Speaker 4: Tom Brady, right? I don't think they needed it as much,
- 39:21Speaker 4: but I think for some of these young guys coming in,
- 39:23Speaker 4: it has to be a factor.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Speaking of young guys, I just want to roll three
- 39:27Speaker 1: young quarterbacks by you before we finish and just kind
- 39:29Speaker 1: of get your thoughts Like to me, Michael Panix Jr.
- 39:31Speaker 1: has been interesting because he didn't play, then he did play,
- 39:33Speaker 1: then he did win, then he got, like, where do
- 39:35Speaker 1: you see him now?
- 39:37Speaker 4: Yeah. So I really liked him coming out of Washington. Now,
- 39:42Speaker 4: some of the people that I knew in scouting in
- 39:44Speaker 4: the NFL were like, he can't vary his throws. He
- 39:46Speaker 4: doesn't have touch. And I see that. But I do
- 39:49Speaker 4: think that he has exceeded my expectations for being able
- 39:53Speaker 4: to come in and the rest of the team just
- 39:56Speaker 4: get a jump around him because they do have talent.
- 39:58Speaker 4: And I feel like Penix will, he will stand in
- 40:03Speaker 4: there and deliver, which is respect on your team. And
- 40:06Speaker 4: he will take some chances, like he will throw it
- 40:08Speaker 4: down the field. They've got some targets. So I think
- 40:11Speaker 4: that they've gotten a bigger spark than anticipated just from
- 40:13Speaker 4: having a viable quarterback, right? Still concerned about like, If
- 40:17Speaker 4: he has to throw it 30, 35 times a game
- 40:20Speaker 4: instead of these games where he's going 15 of 20,
- 40:22Speaker 4: I think the inaccuracy is going to come out. I
- 40:24Speaker 4: think we're going to see that. His ability to make
- 40:26Speaker 4: it through a whole year, he barely made it through
- 40:27Speaker 4: the last game. All those concerns are still there, but
- 40:30Speaker 4: I think he's given them a shot in the arm
- 40:32Speaker 4: of showing that they were kind of at replacement-level quarterback,
- 40:36Speaker 4: and now he's a starter, or maybe he's a lower-end starter,
- 40:40Speaker 4: but that's enough for them with their run game to
- 40:43Speaker 4: really get a boost.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Tyler Shuck in New Orleans.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Disappointing their season to me you know and even I
- 40:49Speaker 4: realize he's young even though he's old he's an older
- 40:51Speaker 4: player but he's young in his number of reps but
- 40:54Speaker 4: you know too many games where they have started out
- 40:57Speaker 4: terrible and then yeah you get a bunch of yards
- 40:59Speaker 4: late but is that really the same thing as if
- 41:00Speaker 4: you played consistent ball throughout I think they they really
- 41:03Speaker 4: miss you know they've had injuries at running back I
- 41:06Speaker 4: think they miss a running threat just somebody who can
- 41:10Speaker 4: do something dynamically with the ball in his hands their
- 41:12Speaker 4: number one pick also the receiver hasn't played So I'm
- 41:15Speaker 4: willing to give a little bit of more patience maybe
- 41:18Speaker 4: than the owner is there complaining like she did the
- 41:20Speaker 4: other day. But I think on the whole it's been a–
- 41:23Speaker 4: he hasn't taken off the way that maybe we would
- 41:26Speaker 4: have thought.
- 41:27Speaker 1: The last young quarterback I'm going to ask about is
- 41:28Speaker 1: going to be Cam Ward. And not just Cam, but
- 41:30Speaker 1: let's say the Titans end up being as terrible as
- 41:32Speaker 1: they are. And they're going to end up as terrible.
- 41:34Speaker 1: But let's just say hypothetically they are terrible all year
- 41:36Speaker 1: and they get the number one pick. So one, talk
- 41:39Speaker 1: Cam Ward. But two, do they draft another quarterback or
- 41:42Speaker 1: do they go and get a– do they go to
- 41:43Speaker 1: Ohio State? Get a receiver.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Well, they just took a receiver, you know. I think
- 41:49Speaker 4: you have to take a quarterback if it's a clear
- 41:51Speaker 4: upgrade and you've made your evaluation on the one that
- 41:53Speaker 4: you have. I feel like you can't do this another year. Now,
- 41:59Speaker 4: it's still early for Cam Ward. Ideally, you'd give him
- 42:01Speaker 4: more time and maybe somewhere else he's going to find
- 42:03Speaker 4: his way. But if you feel like he's not the
- 42:05Speaker 4: guy and you can get the guy, I think that
- 42:08Speaker 4: position is too valuable to do it.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Who's the guy, though? This quarterback class looked so promising
- 42:15Speaker 1: four weeks ago. And now, because of injuries, Oregon, because
- 42:20Speaker 1: Arch isn't really what we thought Arch was going to be.
- 42:21Speaker 1: And there are some guys that are actually making moves
- 42:24Speaker 1: up and go to Oklahoma State, right? And you're starting
- 42:26Speaker 1: to have some hope for him. But who's the guy, though,
- 42:30Speaker 1: in this quarterback class?
- 42:31Speaker 4: You're right. And I don't have an answer to that
- 42:33Speaker 4: because I don't follow college as much during the season.
- 42:37Speaker 4: I kind of get up to speed at the combine
- 42:39Speaker 4: when all the pro guys have kind of seen them.
- 42:41Speaker 4: And so I don't have a great answer for that.
- 42:43Speaker 4: I think that what you're raising is an interesting point though.
- 42:45Speaker 4: What if you have a, you know, a mid quarterback who's,
- 42:50Speaker 4: you know, okay, you can justify taking that early or
- 42:53Speaker 4: a superstar wide receiver, right? And then I think you've got,
- 42:57Speaker 4: here's an example, Bo Nix versus Jamar Chase, right? I'm
- 43:01Speaker 4: taking Chase.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. And also, You take another Ohio State
- 43:09Speaker 1: wide receiver. He's the best receiver that I've ever seen
- 43:12Speaker 1: in my life. Even though that'll be two in a row.
- 43:15Speaker 1: But we really appreciate it. You guys follow at Sando NFL,
- 43:19Speaker 1: and I really enjoy reading your articles at The Athletic. Mike,
- 43:22Speaker 1: thank you so much, and I hope you have a
- 43:23Speaker 1: great weekend and watch lots of football. Thanks, Mike.

- 44:38Speaker 1: All right, now I'm going to present to you guys
- 44:40Speaker 1: my power rankings of the top five NFL quarterbacks as
- 44:42Speaker 1: of right now. At number five, Trevor Lawrence. It'd be
- 44:47Speaker 1: real cool if that number one high school quarterback, number
- 44:51Speaker 1: one draft pick would actually be good.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I think he was put in a situation that wasn't
- 44:58Speaker 1: conducive to winning, going to Jacksonville, period, and then having
- 45:01Speaker 1: to play for Urban Meyer and then having to play
- 45:03Speaker 1: for Doug Peterson. Not that he's bad. He did win
- 45:05Speaker 1: a Super Bowl. A lot of change. Uh, I'd like
- 45:08Speaker 1: it if he was good. That'd be pretty cool. Yeah,
- 45:11Speaker 1: and it's taken a long time. But you're like, okay,
- 45:13Speaker 1: maybe he actually is pretty good. They're throwing the ball
- 45:16Speaker 1: down the field, too. I do think he has multiple
- 45:18Speaker 1: options to throw the ball to as well, which is nice.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 1: So Trevor Lawrence at number five. I just wonder, is
- 45:25Speaker 1: he ever going to cut his hair?
- 45:26Speaker 4: Ever?
- 45:28Speaker 1: At some point. And I'm saying this because I've let
- 45:30Speaker 1: mine grow to be funny. But at some point, when
- 45:33Speaker 1: do you adult up? I was going to say.
- 45:35Speaker 6: The over-under, I would have put him like two years
- 45:37Speaker 6: in the NFL, and we're what, you're six, five in,
- 45:39Speaker 6: and I'm like.
- 45:40Speaker 1: He's still got it going. And it's like as straight
- 45:42Speaker 1: as could be.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 45:44Speaker 1: It's like Joe Dirt.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Straight.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Yeah. I do like him, though, and I'm happy to
- 45:49Speaker 1: see him at number five. At number four, Patrick Mahomes.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Mahomes had nine touchdown passes and two interceptions in the
- 45:55Speaker 1: last four games. They've only played four games, so they're
- 45:57Speaker 1: a game behind everybody else. So he doesn't have.
- 46:00Speaker 3: To be great.
- 46:01Speaker 1: He just has to be pretty good because– They have
- 46:04Speaker 1: a really good running game. And I bet for a
- 46:07Speaker 1: guy like that, it's probably kind of hard to not
- 46:08Speaker 1: have to go out and try to be great. Whenever
- 46:10Speaker 1: they've depended on you to constantly break sacks, run, use
- 46:16Speaker 1: your legs. I think it's probably pretty difficult for him
- 46:18Speaker 1: not to even try to do that. But I have
- 46:20Speaker 1: him at number four because the Chiefs are undefeated and
- 46:22Speaker 1: he's Patrick Mahomes. And number three, Jared Goff.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Wow.
- 46:25Speaker 1: 12 touchdown passes and zero interceptions.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Well, that's interesting. I wouldn't have thought that just by
- 46:30Speaker 3: looking at the Lions.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 46:31Speaker 1: They have no defense. They play with seven men on defense.
- 46:33Speaker 1: If you counted, if you do the counts when they
- 46:34Speaker 1: put the numbers up, they only put seven guys. Yes.
- 46:38Speaker 3: Wow.
- 46:39Speaker 1: It's completely performance-based here. He is Josh Allen, the Lions.
- 46:46Speaker 1: The only time they have a chance to win is
- 46:48Speaker 1: when he is absolutely going ape crap and keeping them
- 46:51Speaker 1: in the game. So I have him at three. Brock
- 46:53Speaker 1: Purdy at two.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Let's go. Oh.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Showing some love to Brock.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I like it.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Finally.
- 46:59Speaker 1: I can't hold him down. They're undefeated.
- 47:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:02Speaker 3: It's weird. He doesn't look amazing, but gosh, he gets
- 47:05Speaker 3: the job done and sometimes like just effortlessly.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I feel like him improvising starts to look pretty athletic
- 47:13Speaker 1: and pretty cool.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Yes. Yeah. I agree. I agree.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I think it's a baby face, you guys. And also,
- 47:19Speaker 1: it's the last pick.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Yeah, they're still holding that.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Even though he signed a new deal, we should be
- 47:23Speaker 1: off of that. And then also, it's a little bit,
- 47:25Speaker 1: is he a Shanahan system guy?
- 47:27Speaker 4: Right.
- 47:27Speaker 1: And everyone's going to say that. And people are going
- 47:29Speaker 1: to say that about Shanahan. They're going to say that
- 47:30Speaker 1: about O'Connell. They're going to say that about McVay, except
- 47:33Speaker 1: for the quarterback McVay has now, which you can never
- 47:35Speaker 1: say that he's a system quarterback.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 1: But there are certain guys that are always going to
- 47:38Speaker 1: have that attached to them.
- 47:39Speaker 3: And you say that, though, but then when he, like,
- 47:41Speaker 3: when the play goes bad and he has to improvise,
- 47:43Speaker 3: like you said, he does a great job.
- 47:46Speaker 1: But Shanahan showed him how to improvise. It's the Shanahan
- 47:49Speaker 1: improvising method that he's using. Yeah, you didn't know that.
- 47:52Speaker 1: A new wrinkle this year.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 1: And at number one, Josh Allen, because he takes over
- 47:58Speaker 1: the game in so many different ways, deep throws, creating
- 48:02Speaker 1: outside the pocket. You just have to always have somebody
- 48:04Speaker 1: watching him at all times. Just in the last game,
- 48:06Speaker 1: he rushed for 121 yards in the overtime win, and
- 48:09Speaker 1: it all happened basically second half in overtime. And so
- 48:13Speaker 1: if Josh Allen wasn't on the Bills, they would be terrible.
- 48:16Speaker 1: If Brock Purdy wasn't on the 49ers, I don't know.
- 48:19Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 48:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I think they could still be pretty good. I
- 48:23Speaker 1: don't want to take anything away from Purdy, but Josh
- 48:25Speaker 1: Allen means all to the Bills. So I have him
- 48:29Speaker 1: at number one. So those are my power rankings. I
- 48:32Speaker 1: heard you sigh, but I do have Dak at number 19. Oh, wow.
- 48:36Speaker 3: 19? You jerk.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Nah.
- 48:41Speaker 3: Dak's good, man. Yeah, he's really good. Josh Allen, though,
- 48:44Speaker 3: I can never realize how big he is until he's
- 48:46Speaker 3: next to Matt Stafford the other night. When they go
- 48:51Speaker 3: up to coin toss, it's like, gosh, he's humongous.
- 48:53Speaker 4: Have you seen the.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Picture of me with Brothers Osborne?
- 48:57Speaker 3: Same thing.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I'm a rather tallish guy.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I'm over six foot.
- 49:02Speaker 1: And those guys, they look like the Steiner brothers.
- 49:05Speaker 4: Yeah, they tower.
- 49:06Speaker 1: They're huge, both of them. But they're always with each other,
- 49:10Speaker 1: so they don't look large because they're always standing with
- 49:12Speaker 1: someone who's also large. But they're monsters. So, yeah, that's
- 49:16Speaker 1: what's up. The big games, college real quick, Ohio State
- 49:19Speaker 1: and Indiana. Ohio State's a three-and-a-half-point favorite. It's at Indiana. Also,
- 49:23Speaker 1: Indiana has a 20-game win streak. All those things are great.
- 49:26Speaker 4: I know.
- 49:26Speaker 3: That's insane.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Florida, Texas. Texas is a ten-and-a-half-point favorite, Mike.
- 49:31Speaker 4: I like it.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Double digits.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Ten and a half, Mike.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I'm surprised. Also, if I go double digits, what's that
- 49:36Speaker 1: sound like?
- 49:37Speaker 3: Double dribble.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Yes, from Nintendo back in the day. That's right.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Love that game.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Good catch. Mississippi State at LSU. Now, Mississippi State's ranked 16.
- 49:46Speaker 1: LSU is ranked 22nd, but LSU is a 14 and
- 49:49Speaker 1: a half point favorite.
- 49:50Speaker 4: Crazy.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Auburn at number one, Georgia. Georgia is a 20 point favorite.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Missouri at Ole Miss. Ole Miss a touchdown favorite. Alabama
- 49:57Speaker 1: at Tennessee. Alabama eight and a half point favorite. Florida
- 50:00Speaker 1: State and Miami. Miami, big favorite, 21 points. And Notre
- 50:02Speaker 1: Dame is a 10-point favorite over BYU. So there you go.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Looking at the NFL schedule real quick. What do I
- 50:08Speaker 1: love about it? What's going to be a fun game
- 50:10Speaker 1: to watch? I think this is going up Thursday, so
- 50:13Speaker 1: I'll be quick on it. Seahawks, Broncos, that should be
- 50:15Speaker 1: a fun game. Seahawks are really good. Broncos are pretty good.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:17Speaker 1: We'll see what's up.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:18Speaker 1: NFL, though, game inches. Yeah.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Any given Sunday.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:22Speaker 3: Thursday.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Any given Thursday.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Any given Thursday. Yeah, and he gave it Thursday.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I guess the Jaguars just bought property in London, huh?
- 50:32Speaker 1: I think that's their home stadium now.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Everyone has a place there.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they're there again. So what game looks the best?
- 50:39Speaker 1: Texas Jaguars, meh. Jets at Patriots, meh. Ravens at Browns, meh.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Kind of just if Lamar's there or not. Even if
- 50:46Speaker 1: he is there, he's going to be probably a little hobbled.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Steelers at Bucs, nobody cares. Titans at Colts, nobody cares.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Panthers at Eagles. I mean, Eagles are a favorite there.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Could be.
- 50:54Speaker 1: But I did just see Jalen Hurts is out. Okay.
- 50:57Speaker 1: My line can't move on paper.
- 50:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 1: That'd be crazy if it did, though. If it changed
- 51:01Speaker 1: on paper, that'd be crazy.
- 51:02Speaker 3: With what? A superficial blood clot?
- 51:05Speaker 1: Is that what they're saying?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 51:07Speaker 4: What is a.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Superficial blood clot?
- 51:10Speaker 1: That blood clot probably wasn't being true to itself.
- 51:14Speaker 3: So it's being superficial. Shame on you, blood clot.
- 51:18Speaker 4: Blood clot.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Be yourself and just... Don't treat people bad. Wow. I
- 51:21Speaker 1: don't know what that is. I'm looking at these games.
- 51:24Speaker 1: I guess so far we've got a sucky.
- 51:25Speaker 3: What about the Bills and the Raiders?
- 51:27Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Saints and Giants, crappy. Cardinals at Rams, who cares? Chargers
- 51:30Speaker 1: at Chiefs. Was interesting before the season started. Bills at Raiders,
- 51:35Speaker 1: kind of. Cowboys at Packers. Packers are a point and
- 51:37Speaker 1: a half favorite.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Yeah, stupid.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Commanders at 49. I mean, these games suck.
- 51:42Speaker 3: Yeah, they're all terrible. What the heck?
- 51:46Speaker 1: Those games all suck. What's the game of the week?
- 51:49Speaker 3: I would go Bills and Raiders.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Can't do tonight. Can't do tonight. Can't do tonight?
- 51:53Speaker 4: Yeah, man. I liked your pick, Kevin.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Texans at Jaguars in London at 830. What was your pick, Kevin? Tonight.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Oh, I thought somebody said Raiders.
- 52:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you've got to go Bills and Raiders.
- 52:11Speaker 1: It might be Cowboys and Packers for me. I quit
- 52:14Speaker 1: match for that game.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 52:16Speaker 1: They absorb the other team. Whoever wins, they take everybody
- 52:20Speaker 1: on their roster for the rest of the year. It's
- 52:22Speaker 1: a double up. What's up?
- 52:24Speaker 3: That's Sunday night. Didn't realize that.
- 52:27Speaker 1: So you get to experience that. All the joy, all
- 52:29Speaker 1: the pain.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Yes, everyone's going to be watching.
- 52:32Speaker 4: I'm excited.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Don't be a hater. Because you're not a hater.
- 52:35Speaker 4: You love the Cowboys.
- 52:37Speaker 1: That's it, everybody. Thank you so much. Eddie, kickoff Kevin,
- 52:40Speaker 1: Brandon Ray, Mike D. I'm Bobby Bones. And blow that whistle, Mikey.
- 52:46Speaker 1: We'll see you guys Monday of next week.
- 52:49Speaker 3: All right.
