- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, we're good.
- 0:06Speaker 2: You like that, busting with the boys, hanging with the face,
- 0:18Speaker 2: betting on the game. No woman's gonna tell us what.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Not be.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We're here just drinking beer and making that baby. I'm
- 0:37Speaker 2: hanging with the Fellers. He's busting with the boys.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Bro Are we rolling? Mitchie?
- 0:47Speaker 1: All right, we're rolling right.
- 0:48Speaker 4: No, let's keep a ride a bus, rob going Cowski
- 0:50Speaker 4: finally making up a bus. It's been a long time,
- 0:52Speaker 4: cover three years time.
- 0:54Speaker 1: We've been trying for three years. We're gonna finally be on.
- 0:57Speaker 4: We're where The first time we met was at my house.
- 1:00Speaker 4: You were doing about two thousand of nad. Just sat
- 1:04Speaker 4: there and stare at the wall for three hours, just
- 1:06Speaker 4: dying for a little bit. The next time, tight end
- 1:08Speaker 4: to you. Yep, we're putting the full court press on them.
- 1:10Speaker 4: And then we almost made it happen, but then I
- 1:12Speaker 4: had to go to the town for something. I can't
- 1:14Speaker 4: remember what it was.
- 1:15Speaker 5: We tried several times this time, like Bronx said, the
- 1:18Speaker 5: perfect moment's going to strike in That perfect moment is
- 1:21Speaker 5: now right with Noby because of fandom, because of fan
- 1:24Speaker 5: fandels brought all the boys together.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Number One sportsbook in all of America.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Yeah, if you're watching right now, make sure you are
- 1:29Speaker 5: subscribed to the channel. It's easy for you. It helps
- 1:31Speaker 5: the boys out a lot. Busting with the Boys is
- 1:33Speaker 5: presented by Fanduels Sportsbook. Fandels America's number one sports book.
- 1:37Speaker 5: We just finished up the PGA Championship. The NBA and
- 1:40Speaker 5: NHL conference finals are underway. The NFL schedule dropped last week,
- 1:44Speaker 5: and Fandels here for all of it. The matchups are
- 1:47Speaker 5: set the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Oklahoma City Thunder in
- 1:49Speaker 5: the West, the Indiana Pacers, and the New York Knicks
- 1:52Speaker 5: in the East. Who are we writing with for the
- 1:54Speaker 5: rest of the proseeds for the rest of the postseason?
- 1:57Speaker 4: Boys, I'm gonna give you the Knicks.
- 1:59Speaker 5: I'm just look, I'm I'm just I don't know shit
- 2:02Speaker 5: about basketball, but I'm gonna ride it with the Knicks
- 2:05Speaker 5: because i feel like they've created the most chaos on
- 2:07Speaker 5: social media.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yeah, taking down the Celtics.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I was actually just a game. I think it was
- 2:11Speaker 1: Game four. It was in New York. I was there
- 2:13Speaker 1: actually with fan Duel. I was up in their suite,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, shooting some content, making some bets. In the game,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and that at Mispear in New York at Madison Square
- 2:21Speaker 1: Garden was absolutely electric. My man, I'm talking. I never
- 2:25Speaker 1: seen a basketball game like that. The garden in Boston
- 2:28Speaker 1: is always electric, but it was like another level, you know,
- 2:31Speaker 1: in New York City. I feel like because they haven't
- 2:33Speaker 1: been in the playoffs or that far and so long,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and they're also facing the reigning champs and they did
- 2:39Speaker 1: win that game as well. So New York is popping.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But I'm not a Knicks fan. I'm a Celtics fan.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Actually not really. I don't really have a true NBA
- 2:46Speaker 1: team because I grew up in Buffalo. But I'm cheering
- 2:49Speaker 1: for Oklahoma Thunder right now. I just watched Game seven
- 2:52Speaker 1: versus No, I'm not going next. I was just giving
- 2:56Speaker 1: them credit for their and it doesn't feel like they
- 2:59Speaker 1: fan base is psychotic and psychotic.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yeah, the last game they just played, they beat the
- 3:04Speaker 4: ship out of the Celtics like eighty four or something like.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yeah, something was down. Brown has like a torn mc
- 3:12Speaker 1: l gus had like an illness. Yeah, football injuries. Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 1: they just don't know how to work because they're not football.
- 3:20Speaker 4: To get that stish figuring out baby and also Timothy Shallamane.
- 3:25Speaker 4: You see that guy sitting outside the s u V.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Yeah, the videos after the game, like outside Timothy Charlemagne
- 3:31Speaker 5: and then like.
- 3:31Speaker 3: There's some face what I think you said it nice Charlemagne. Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 3: Charlotte Charlamagne. That's a hard name to say. You don't
- 3:39Speaker 3: want me. Ultimately, they're throwing like trash bags at him.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Who is that? Was that a Celtics fan?
- 3:47Speaker 1: That was an Indiana Pacers fan and he was wearing
- 3:51Speaker 1: the star player's name. What's Hallan Burton? Sure, yeah, Halim
- 3:54Speaker 1: Burton's jersey and they're throwing trash cans and everything at him.
- 3:58Speaker 3: And everybody just to the northeast, which was wild.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That's too much, man, just because he's wearing the jersey
- 4:04Speaker 1: around the city and you're attacking home. I mean it
- 4:06Speaker 1: was one verse like a thousand. The guy just had
- 4:08Speaker 1: to walk away in shame. But I think that's too
- 4:10Speaker 1: much to start throwing trash at like a random fan
- 4:12Speaker 1: that's just wearing another jersey something in the middle of
- 4:16Speaker 1: the streets. A lot.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I kind of love it, you do. I do, because
- 4:19Speaker 4: it's just like it adds to me for the entertainment.
- 4:22Speaker 4: I don't think we should ever hurt somebody, We should
- 4:24Speaker 4: never be hateful. Checkbox, checkbox, check box. But I also think,
- 4:27Speaker 4: like when fan bases are that nasty, you talk about
- 4:29Speaker 4: like the Philodelphy Eagles, like that adds to the storyline
- 4:33Speaker 4: of all the teams playing and the last time they
- 4:35Speaker 4: played X, Y and Z happened. Like I think it's
- 4:38Speaker 4: good for sports and the culture and everything like that.
- 4:41Speaker 1: There's a place for just as long as it doesn't
- 4:43Speaker 1: leads pulling out.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Yeah, stabbing fights and.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah, people getting stabbed, but that's usually what it leads to.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Right, right, if we can just throw a nice bag
- 4:52Speaker 4: of trash or somebody and then maybe chest like bump
- 4:54Speaker 4: chest a couple of times, push each other.
- 4:56Speaker 1: All right, we'll move on.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll take that every day.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Of the week.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Throw a couple of fists.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Yeah it was this couple. Yeah, keep it classy. Well,
- 5:05Speaker 4: since we're showing the basketball thing, Kington Clark, Angel Reaes,
- 5:08Speaker 4: where do you stand on that?
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm a Caitlin Clark fan.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Are you really where do you have you?
- 5:13Speaker 4: Do you see this past weekend?
- 5:14Speaker 3: I see all the Internet's blowing up about it, and
- 5:16Speaker 3: may it's something like I really.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Do think that Angel Reese does not like Caitlin Clark.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Definitely, that's probably a competitive rivalry, but everybody tries to
- 5:25Speaker 5: make it about some race thing storyline.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But the first time I'm a Caitlin Clark fan because
- 5:29Speaker 1: I actually just hearing a lot about her when she
- 5:32Speaker 1: was at Iowa. What was it, I think her second
- 5:35Speaker 1: last year when they when she was playing in all
- 5:37Speaker 1: the games. No, I think it was her last year,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I haven't seen her play yet. And then she
- 5:40Speaker 1: was in the tournament and I finally watched a game
- 5:42Speaker 1: in the tournament and she was just shooting threes up
- 5:44Speaker 1: like she was Steph Curry, and she was just sinking
- 5:46Speaker 1: them from like five feet past the three point line.
- 5:49Speaker 1: That's when I became a big fan, just watching her
- 5:51Speaker 1: first game in the tournament and I was just thrilled
- 5:54Speaker 1: watching her and I was I was in shock just
- 5:56Speaker 1: how smooth she was too, with all her passes, the
- 5:58Speaker 1: way she dribbled, and the way she shot. And then
- 6:01Speaker 1: ever since then, I became a big fan of her game.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And now I follow her through the w NBA and
- 6:05Speaker 1: I follow that whole beef Angel rees Caitlyn Clark, and
- 6:09Speaker 1: I think Caitlyn Clark is on the pedestal of being
- 6:12Speaker 1: top dog in the NB and the WNBA, and Angel Reese,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I feel like he's just a little bit jealous. I
- 6:18Speaker 1: think when we tell about yeah right not too goes
- 6:21Speaker 1: way back to then Kaitlyn Clark being as good as
- 6:24Speaker 1: she is is one thing. So she comes in as
- 6:25Speaker 1: a big jump in the in the viewership in WNBA.
- 6:28Speaker 1: But that wouldn't be sustainable if there wasn't the Angel
- 6:31Speaker 1: Reeses adding to like the hate now we have this
- 6:33Speaker 1: big rival were going on. So next time they play,
- 6:35Speaker 1: the seats were filled for that game, and I just
- 6:37Speaker 1: think it's to the league. Yeah, I don't think. Yeah,
- 6:41Speaker 1: I agree. You need Angel Reese to have this hatredge
- 6:44Speaker 1: uh to Kitlyn Clark and all these other players to
- 6:47Speaker 1: keep getting that attention that the w NBA actually deserves
- 6:50Speaker 1: as well. And it's working. You know, if they were
- 6:52Speaker 1: all for Kaitlyn Clark. Oh, she's such a good player,
- 6:55Speaker 1: she's so sweet to play again. I'm gonna let her
- 6:57Speaker 1: shoot her three pointer. I'm not going to contest it. Oh,
- 7:00Speaker 1: since she's getting elbows thrown at our people are loving that.
- 7:03Speaker 1: People love physicality in sports. That's what fans love. That's
- 7:07Speaker 1: why hockey's back all the fighting when with the four
- 7:09Speaker 1: nations everyone throwing elbows at each other the checks. That's
- 7:12Speaker 1: why the NBA is kind of back in the playoffs
- 7:14Speaker 1: right now because the referees are letting all that physicality,
- 7:18Speaker 1: you know, just go on. They're getting physical again in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the pain, They're throwing elbows, they're playing hard, and fans
- 7:23Speaker 1: love to see that. And that's why football is the
- 7:25Speaker 1: greatest sport because every play is physically you're getting dirty,
- 7:32Speaker 1: every single play.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Before we go any further, can we just get a
- 7:36Speaker 4: quick moment of sounds from my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Thank you very much for your time.
- 7:45Speaker 1: You know that was tough for me because I'm from Buffalo.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I'm a big Buffalo Savers fans. Toronto Maple Leafs was
- 7:50Speaker 1: our rival really, you know, throughout my whole childhood, especially
- 7:54Speaker 1: ty Dome versus rob Ray, all those fights back in
- 7:57Speaker 1: the day. I love both of them just getting after it. Yes,
- 7:59Speaker 1: but I didn't really want to give that moment of silence.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I will say this, if we can be nasty about
- 8:09Speaker 4: Toronto now they're in Game seven, in the biggest game
- 8:12Speaker 4: in your franchise's history since nineteen sixty seven, when you
- 8:15Speaker 4: actually won the cup. Disgusting display of effort. The boys
- 8:19Speaker 4: were did not want it yesterday in the first period,
- 8:22Speaker 4: zero zero. Then all of a sudden, I go to
- 8:24Speaker 4: start putting my kids down. I pop up the YouTube
- 8:26Speaker 4: TV as I'm laying on the ground as they're falling asleep,
- 8:28Speaker 4: and they're just getting thrown on badly.
- 8:31Speaker 3: It was like three goals within ten minutes.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Buddy, and they just got after them over and over
- 8:35Speaker 4: and over again. I mean they killed a great penalty
- 8:38Speaker 4: after the first period, and then it was a wall.
- 8:41Speaker 4: He was a goalie, correct, He became a sieve in
- 8:43Speaker 4: those last two periods and it was just tough, dude, tough.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Well, I know, history repeats itself, and I think the
- 8:49Speaker 1: Toronto Maple Leafs had folded and basically every game seven
- 8:52Speaker 1: in the last five six years, right in the playoffs.
- 8:55Speaker 1: So I actually did my first NHL bet on FanDuel
- 8:58Speaker 1: Sports book last night, two hundred dollars on the Florida
- 9:01Speaker 1: Panthers just beating the Toronto Maple Leafs straight up, and
- 9:05Speaker 1: I won. Let me pull it up, man, I'm not
- 9:06Speaker 1: telling you. It's my first I've ever made the world.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Taylor put five grande.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Uh that must have not wor no.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Didn't hit it did?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah that one yeah my head. Yeah. I bet
- 9:21Speaker 1: the Florida pan Yeah. Yeah. So I kind of wish
- 9:24Speaker 1: you won now and then we kind.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Of like Taylor a lot more and got his.
- 9:28Speaker 1: At let me go. It was actually my first bat
- 9:31Speaker 1: in the state of Tennessee too, which is really cool.
- 9:35Speaker 1: All right, right here, Tennessee settled. Look at that Florida
- 9:38Speaker 1: Panthers total wager two hundred dollars one three forty. Yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 1: look at that. You know, I just check it out.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I did see that. I saw that on Twitter last night,
- 9:53Speaker 4: and I'm just thinking to myself, God, damn it.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Well, I was just watching.
- 9:56Speaker 4: I was doing the same thing. Was right now my
- 9:59Speaker 4: last I lost four bets with the Toronto maple Leafs
- 10:01Speaker 4: have gotten murdered and I had Toronto a futures bet
- 10:04Speaker 4: on them. We're in the Eastern Conference finals and obviously
- 10:07Speaker 4: that's not gonna come come together anymore. That's now dead.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Biz has been such a like a you know, voice
- 10:13Speaker 5: for the Leafs, and then you've obviously been riding with
- 10:15Speaker 5: the leaves too, so knowing that they were in a
- 10:17Speaker 5: Game seven. When I was just watching the last night,
- 10:19Speaker 5: she says, like a you know, non hockey guy, just
- 10:21Speaker 5: watching as a fan of the game. For the love
- 10:23Speaker 5: of the game. We had a Game seven going on.
- 10:25Speaker 5: It did seem like Florida was just playing at a
- 10:27Speaker 5: different speed, just bullying, bullying the maple Leapers.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I had clump on the phone with a bunch of
- 10:32Speaker 4: people from FanDuel setting up something. When they won this game,
- 10:34Speaker 4: I was gonna go to a game in Toronto. Yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 4: check it out, get the environment, see that it's all
- 10:39Speaker 4: about sure enough, man, they ship the bed. And everyone
- 10:43Speaker 4: told me Toronto is like the Dallas Cowboys of hockey.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Like they're like the biggest, most well known franchise. They
- 10:50Speaker 4: sell the most jerseys, they make the most money, blah
- 10:52Speaker 4: blah blah. And I thought, that's great. I'll get behind them.
- 10:55Speaker 4: It'll be a fun fan base to play with. Little
- 10:56Speaker 4: did I know if they really are the Dallas Cowboys,
- 10:59Speaker 4: they'll shit the bet in the playoffs. And that's what
- 11:01Speaker 4: just happened. Yeah, tough, tough.
- 11:03Speaker 3: It was one too.
- 11:03Speaker 5: Like when it was zero zero after the first period,
- 11:05Speaker 5: I was like, I wonder if because you could notice
- 11:07Speaker 5: that Florida was just out playing them the whole time,
- 11:09Speaker 5: even though zero zero. They let him hang around and
- 11:11Speaker 5: the least might just pull something off. But then they
- 11:14Speaker 5: just started to just put their face in the pillow.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Austin Matthews, the Scotts, the Arizona guy captain. I was like, man,
- 11:21Speaker 4: I need an Arizona boy to run for us. But
- 11:23Speaker 4: now we got to Chuck Chuck for the Panthers.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I mean, my favorite player in the NHL though, was
- 11:28Speaker 1: the Adminton Oilers going blank yeah McDavid. I mean, I
- 11:32Speaker 1: love skates around just ice to ice, you know, lying
- 11:37Speaker 1: to line and just goes around everyone. I'm cheering for him.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'm hoping that Minton the Oilers win it all. Plus,
- 11:42Speaker 1: I feel like the NHL needs a Canada the team
- 11:45Speaker 1: to you know, win it. It's been so long and
- 11:47Speaker 1: I think that will bring hockey back in a way,
- 11:49Speaker 1: even though you know, yeah, even though we're beefing a
- 11:53Speaker 1: little bite Canada, I think it would be Yeah, I
- 11:58Speaker 1: think it would be really good. Good if Edmonton Oilers
- 12:01Speaker 1: winning for the NHL.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Just for the sport, the attention and everything.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Exactly, and on top of it, on top of speaking
- 12:07Speaker 1: about hockey. My brother texted me this morning. He goes,
- 12:09Speaker 1: you have to let because I was like, I'm going
- 12:11Speaker 1: on with buzsing with the boys, and I didn't really know.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I don't think he really knew. That's truly, you guys
- 12:16Speaker 1: are like more of a football podcast. And he goes,
- 12:18Speaker 1: you have to let them know. You're going to be
- 12:19Speaker 1: in the hockey world soon with all your nephews. So
- 12:21Speaker 1: I just want to give a shout out to all
- 12:23Speaker 1: my nephews. They're up and coming in the hockey world
- 12:25Speaker 1: right now. They're playing on the Buffalo Junior Sabers. They're ballers,
- 12:29Speaker 1: and you'll be hearing a lot about them in the future,
- 12:35Speaker 1: my nephews. I told my brother I would get it
- 12:40Speaker 1: in if somehow the hockey subject gets brought up. So
- 12:42Speaker 1: there you go, brother and Jace Grayson. Keep dominating boys.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You guys are going to be lethal out there on
- 12:47Speaker 1: the ice.
- 12:48Speaker 4: You played all the skates being New York.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I love playing hockey, man. I grew up and played
- 12:53Speaker 1: until ninth grade, and I stopped playing hockey because hockey
- 12:55Speaker 1: and basketball were at the same time and I just
- 12:58Speaker 1: thought basketball was a better fit for me. And I
- 13:00Speaker 1: kind of like basketball more more at that time. But
- 13:02Speaker 1: hockey was my favorite sport growing up.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you're many damn basket.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but think about this guy's defense hockey.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I was looking but left wing.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Do you know who Charlie is?
- 13:14Speaker 4: No, that's your wife.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Number one.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Number two is a Danny O charo. He was a
- 13:17Speaker 4: guy who played for the Boston Bruins. He's like six seven,
- 13:20Speaker 4: he's like six eleven on skates. This he was Russian, right,
- 13:23Speaker 4: this Russian guy who just beat the fuck out of people.
- 13:25Speaker 1: It was It was not from the US. I don't
- 13:27Speaker 1: know this.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he was not from here.
- 13:29Speaker 4: He wasn't from here. But the guy had like a
- 13:31Speaker 4: hundred I think he did like one hundred and ten
- 13:33Speaker 4: mile an hour slap shot because he used to do
- 13:35Speaker 4: that like the All Star Games, they would do all
- 13:37Speaker 4: like the little challenges. His slap shot was insane.
- 13:39Speaker 1: This guy literally like twenty three years in the NHL
- 13:42Speaker 1: and just.
- 13:42Speaker 4: With body bag people of all time. Yeah, and that
- 13:46Speaker 4: could have been could have been grown six nine.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Were you nice up until you stopped playing?
- 13:51Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 13:51Speaker 1: I was nice. I was nice if I get on skates.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Now I'm pretty slappy because it's been so long and
- 13:56Speaker 1: you got to like be able to skate all the
- 13:57Speaker 1: time in order to keep up with it. But I
- 13:59Speaker 1: was nice man. I only played up a level. I
- 14:01Speaker 1: played with all my friends that were older than me.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I love playing hockey, it was It was by far
- 14:07Speaker 1: my favorite sport. And I was in Buffalo too, with
- 14:10Speaker 1: all the ice rinks around. It was so good. I
- 14:12Speaker 1: had one time scored ten goals in a game when
- 14:15Speaker 1: it was it was house hockey. We were down ten
- 14:17Speaker 1: to one and I ended up scoring ten goals in
- 14:19Speaker 1: a row and tied it up and made it eleven eleven,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and then we ended up losing twelve to eleven. That
- 14:24Speaker 1: was I think, squirts. You scored ten goals. It was ridiculous.
- 14:28Speaker 1: It was one of the best performances of all time.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I know. It was just hot. And then another time
- 14:35Speaker 1: there was just there was this chick she was this
- 14:38Speaker 1: was travel hockey. There was just chick on the cheek
- 14:39Speaker 1: the Wogga team I think it was. And this this
- 14:42Speaker 1: is a pretty good story. And uh, she was vicious,
- 14:45Speaker 1: she was strong, and she always came after me to
- 14:48Speaker 1: try and just deck me. And it was always a
- 14:50Speaker 1: joke all around. We're playing the chick like don't get leveled.
- 14:53Speaker 1: And she came at me and I absolutely destriight it
- 14:57Speaker 1: talking like she would go flying back like three feet,
- 14:59Speaker 1: but you get up and then next ship she would
- 15:01Speaker 1: come full speed and try to deck me. One time
- 15:03Speaker 1: she hit me pretty hard. She went flying back still though,
- 15:05Speaker 1: but my helmet broke and my face mask went flying
- 15:08Speaker 1: off me. So still to this day, my friends punk
- 15:11Speaker 1: me about the time the chick absolutely rocked me and
- 15:13Speaker 1: my face mask went flying off me. But then, uh
- 15:16Speaker 1: like literally like ten years later, when I got to
- 15:18Speaker 1: the NFL whatever, eight years later, however long it was,
- 15:22Speaker 1: I'm a rookie and she dms me on Facebook. She's like, hey, Rob,
- 15:26Speaker 1: remember I'm the girl that always attacked you in hockey,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and I like lost my mind. I was showing all
- 15:31Speaker 1: my friends that she said she's writing me messages.
- 15:33Speaker 5: It was just it was just cool, big respect to
- 15:36Speaker 5: her too, even though she got she tried.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Yeah, oh he made it to the leak. She was
- 15:42Speaker 4: your angel Reese and you're kid and then all of
- 15:44Speaker 4: a sudden, you make it to the leakshot.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Out for just having the sack to just come at me. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:50Speaker 1: every single I'm sure you.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Were an absolute unit at this time too, still real.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I was no Back in the day when
- 15:56Speaker 1: I was playing hockey. Oh, fearless, fearless I played.
- 16:00Speaker 4: We had a much different stories. So I played hockey
- 16:03Speaker 4: like when I was like eight or whatever it mites.
- 16:05Speaker 4: And it was right before checking and I house House
- 16:08Speaker 4: got a hat trick.
- 16:09Speaker 3: We won it.
- 16:09Speaker 4: The next year pee wee's were doing like tryouts for
- 16:11Speaker 4: a travel team, and I did not know checking was
- 16:14Speaker 4: like starting right as the whistles blowing. Some guy who
- 16:17Speaker 4: I believe in my head is still to this day
- 16:18Speaker 4: he was six seven at eight years old. He knocks
- 16:21Speaker 4: me down. I got off the ice. I was done.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I wanted nothing to do with it, wanted nothing to
- 16:25Speaker 4: do with it.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Was that the last time you skate?
- 16:28Speaker 4: That was the last time, you know, they say get
- 16:29Speaker 4: back on the horse. No, I went that locker room.
- 16:31Speaker 4: I took my pads off. I retired that day. Dude,
- 16:33Speaker 4: that was such a pussy growing.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Well, then, what what got you into football? If you
- 16:37Speaker 1: couldn't handle no idea how get into football?
- 16:40Speaker 4: I was the kid. I was the kid that was like.
- 16:44Speaker 3: The ball and.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I would.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Me yes, I would step out of the batter's box
- 16:52Speaker 4: and like kind of swing like this.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I was one of those that bats up when the
- 16:58Speaker 1: pitchers coming. He bats up three feet in the That
- 17:00Speaker 1: was me, Yeah, because he's so scared.
- 17:03Speaker 4: He's so scared.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Those kids drove me crazy.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that was you would have you would have
- 17:09Speaker 4: hated guy.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Like when did that switch?
- 17:11Speaker 4: Probably probably like yeah, I got a good little hair
- 17:14Speaker 4: on my sack, and I was like, you know what,
- 17:15Speaker 4: this physicality thing is not bad. I like went from
- 17:17Speaker 4: doing sports like from five to eleven, twelve thirteen, I
- 17:20Speaker 4: did my whole like X games like Metal, Militia, Travis Pastrana, Nitro,
- 17:24Speaker 4: Circuit's Life, and then I got a little bit of trouble.
- 17:26Speaker 4: My dad's like, you got to play football. And we
- 17:28Speaker 4: went and played football one state my sophomore year at
- 17:30Speaker 4: nose tackle, and from then on I was like, yo,
- 17:33Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with football. I loved it. Is that the dog?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah Ralphi.
- 17:37Speaker 3: People who are able to see Raffie down here, we
- 17:39Speaker 3: got yeah, we got a little friends.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Squirrel noises in the corner over here.
- 17:43Speaker 1: He's a good boy. He's actually been on TV before.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He was in the us AA commercial with me. Oh,

- 18:26Speaker 3: There are some there's some French bulldog haters on this bus.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Really Yeah, who would that be?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Sniff him out?
- 18:33Speaker 1: You're talking about yourself? No, yeah, yeah, you look like
- 18:39Speaker 1: those white frenchies.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Yeah. I got an English bulldog at home.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, that's like a French bulldog. That's the grandfather.
- 18:46Speaker 3: We're part. Yeah, we're part of the bulldog world.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, like I said, yeah, you do you look
- 18:51Speaker 1: but go ahead, English bulldog.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Ah, that's tough.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Definitely, you can't.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I can't let you guys be talking up.
- 18:59Speaker 4: I don't hate Frenchies.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not opposed to him.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I'm a little bit opposed to him.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So it's him. Yeah one, So this is you're a
- 19:07Speaker 1: good frenchy.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I'm not a French. You guy, I think, got a
- 19:09Speaker 4: good coat on him. He's got good broad shoulders, got
- 19:12Speaker 4: a nice coat on the boy, looks good. Got a
- 19:13Speaker 4: piece on him too.
- 19:15Speaker 1: About these balls that I haven't I haven't seen around
- 19:18Speaker 1: Ralph there is nickname is Ralph.
- 19:21Speaker 4: I don't want to make them uncomfortable. But yeah, yeah,
- 19:24Speaker 4: good looking dog. I just.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good boy.
- 19:29Speaker 4: This is a tough start to me in this podcast.
- 19:32Speaker 1: For me, you know, walk off the bus, bus driver,
- 19:38Speaker 1: open up the door. Ralph and I getting off. We're
- 19:40Speaker 1: going for a walk. Yeah, to think about this, we
- 19:44Speaker 1: need to take a couple of deep breasts.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Aren't these guys like made in the lab?
- 19:47Speaker 1: Like?
- 19:47Speaker 4: Aren't they like not?
- 19:48Speaker 1: I know that that is one thing that they say
- 19:50Speaker 1: about it. I just kind of plugged my ears when
- 19:52Speaker 1: people start.
- 19:52Speaker 4: They got a lot of health issues too, right.
- 19:54Speaker 1: A lot of health issues. But this guy, he stays
- 19:56Speaker 1: in top shape, but he's pretty healthy. But a majority
- 20:01Speaker 1: of them, I mean, for how healthy he is, it's
- 20:03Speaker 1: still like a full time job just making sure that
- 20:07Speaker 1: he's healthy. But uh, you know, you got to keep
- 20:09Speaker 1: him active. If you don't keep him active, then that's
- 20:11Speaker 1: when all the health problems definitely really start.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Put them on the treadmill.
- 20:14Speaker 1: They're so their personalities are through their roof. They're like
- 20:17Speaker 1: human beings. They're the best to be one on one
- 20:20Speaker 1: with them. They're they're just so entertaining and loving.
- 20:23Speaker 4: That's awesome. I'm happy for you.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Thank you, man, You're happy.
- 20:27Speaker 4: That's it, bro, That's all I can do.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Off the bus.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Dude, let's talk about growing up. So you grew up?
- 20:35Speaker 1: He ran over.
- 20:39Speaker 4: So you group in Buffalo with me?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Guy? Yeah, give him a shout out, you know, good
- 20:46Speaker 1: guy like.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Surgeon.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I had some you know, vitamins this morning, some n
- 20:51Speaker 1: A D that make sure I'm clear minded.
- 20:53Speaker 4: So thank you to a Yeah, dude, Buffalo, you grew
- 20:59Speaker 4: up in Buffalo. How do you head the Tucson, Arizona?
- 21:02Speaker 1: All right?
- 21:02Speaker 4: Was it dirtbags?
- 21:04Speaker 1: It wasn't dirt bags, but it should have been dirt bags. Actually,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I'd never been to dirt bags before until I actually
- 21:09Speaker 1: went to the NFL, and then I was old enough.
- 21:11Speaker 1: When I came back on a visit, uh after my
- 21:13Speaker 1: rookie year, I was twenty one, so I finally got
- 21:15Speaker 1: to go to dirtbags. I didn't hit any bars. When
- 21:18Speaker 1: I say no, no, I really, I mean I wouldn't
- 21:21Speaker 1: admit it, like, no big deal. I didn't hit any bars.
- 21:24Speaker 1: When I was at the University of Arizona, it was
- 21:26Speaker 1: literally all house parties or going to a frat party
- 21:28Speaker 1: or having our own house party, or just running around
- 21:31Speaker 1: the streets just trying to get into a bar, but
- 21:33Speaker 1: not getting into the bar because I was, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: never of age. But so my brothers were getting recruited
- 21:40Speaker 1: out of high school and uh, my brother Chris, who
- 21:44Speaker 1: was two years older than me, Well, first off, my
- 21:46Speaker 1: dad's in the business of selling fitness equipment. He's been
- 21:48Speaker 1: in the business for thirty five years now. And then
- 21:51Speaker 1: he became best friends with a guy named Donnie who
- 21:54Speaker 1: did the same thing as him, that was an alumni
- 21:56Speaker 1: at the University of Arizona but sold Alleys equipment in Arizona.
- 22:00Speaker 1: So then you know, they go on a work trip
- 22:02Speaker 1: where Life Fitness brings everyone because they both sell Life
- 22:05Speaker 1: Fitness products. And then what is it like a fitness convention?
- 22:09Speaker 1: And then that's where they met and they became best friends.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And then when we were all just kids, so like
- 22:14Speaker 1: alumni Arizona was like, bring your kids out to Arizona.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I know the coaches, I'll get them, you know, I'll
- 22:19Speaker 1: try to get them a scholarship, show them the film,
- 22:21Speaker 1: bring them out on a trip. Come on, we got
- 22:23Speaker 1: to get it done. So I went on a trip
- 22:25Speaker 1: with my brother when he was a senior when he
- 22:27Speaker 1: went to the University of Arizona, and my dad was like, hey,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you're up next in line, Like, come on the trip,
- 22:32Speaker 1: see what it's all about. To get recruited. And then
- 22:35Speaker 1: the University of Arizona was the very first cool I've
- 22:37Speaker 1: basically ever seen in my life, and I fell in
- 22:39Speaker 1: love with the place. My sophomore year in high school,
- 22:42Speaker 1: I was like, this is a college. This is this
- 22:44Speaker 1: is ridiculous. I mean it's ninety degrees, palm trees. We
- 22:47Speaker 1: went by a pool party and like as a sophomore year,
- 22:50Speaker 1: you know in.
- 22:51Speaker 3: High school, you're like home market out in Arizona.
- 22:53Speaker 1: This is ridiculous.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Yeah, those Arizona schools ASUU and the Nuts exactly.
- 22:57Speaker 1: And then that's how I that's how I got to
- 22:59Speaker 1: University of I fell in love with it when I
- 23:01Speaker 1: just tagged along with my brother on his recruiting trip,
- 23:05Speaker 1: and then they started recruiting me from there. After my
- 23:08Speaker 1: brother chose to go to the Universe of Maryland. Then
- 23:10Speaker 1: he actually transferred to the Universe of Arizona and played
- 23:13Speaker 1: with me there for two years, and he was the
- 23:15Speaker 1: full back and I was the tight end and we
- 23:16Speaker 1: were on the field at the same time for a year,
- 23:19Speaker 1: which was just super cool to have and just ball
- 23:21Speaker 1: out with my brother. So that's how I got there.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Long story, show.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Show you were Were you highly recruited coming out of
- 23:26Speaker 3: high school?
- 23:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a four star. I was in the
- 23:29Speaker 1: Rivals top on hun your fifty. I was like the
- 23:32Speaker 1: fifth tight end on the board. He was Fernandez was
- 23:36Speaker 1: actually number one really there. Yeah, we were in the
- 23:38Speaker 1: same class. He was number one, and then there's a
- 23:41Speaker 1: couple in between. I forgot who they were, but they
- 23:43Speaker 1: never made it to the NFL, I don't think, but
- 23:46Speaker 1: it was you know, it was you know the whole
- 23:50Speaker 1: entire recruiting process I went through. It was you know,
- 23:52Speaker 1: enjoyable because my top four, you know were Ohio State, Clemson, Syracuse,
- 23:59Speaker 1: and Arizona. And everyone was just so surprised that I,
- 24:02Speaker 1: you know, chose Arizona to go all the way out west.
- 24:05Speaker 1: But I just fell in love with that place from
- 24:06Speaker 1: the very beginning. Love. Clemson almost went there. That was
- 24:09Speaker 1: definitely number two. Ohio State, you know, they were recruiting me.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I kind of just took a visit there because it
- 24:15Speaker 1: was the Ohio State University. I mean, I could definitely
- 24:18Speaker 1: see myself fitting in there, you know, I can can
- 24:21Speaker 1: see myself being a Buck guy. That's when Jim Tressel
- 24:24Speaker 1: was the head coach too. The facilities were insane as well.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And then Syracuse my dad went to, but the program
- 24:30Speaker 1: was just so down low at the time. Yeah, and
- 24:33Speaker 1: I just kind of wanted to get out of the
- 24:34Speaker 1: state of New York. I didn't want to go back to,
- 24:37Speaker 1: you know, basically home where I grew up in Buffalo,
- 24:39Speaker 1: So Arizona was just a right thing.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Don't you have a legendary story from your Ohio State visit?
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yes, I do.
- 24:44Speaker 3: To where you were, what was it you were hungover.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I was super hungover. So I was a senior. I
- 24:50Speaker 1: moved to Pittsburgh my senior year in high school, so
- 24:52Speaker 1: it was an easy trip to go over, you know,
- 24:55Speaker 1: to Ohio State when they were recruiting me and then
- 24:58Speaker 1: all my friends for Buffalo. They were all old than me,
- 25:01Speaker 1: and some of them went to the Ohio State University.
- 25:03Speaker 1: So I took my official visit there and I went
- 25:05Speaker 1: out with my friends the night before the game and
- 25:08Speaker 1: they showed me around. We actually got in a fight,
- 25:10Speaker 1: which wasn't surprising. That was my last time I basically
- 25:13Speaker 1: brought I used to fight all the time when I
- 25:15Speaker 1: was a senior in high school because I was visiting
- 25:17Speaker 1: my brothers at the University of Maryland and they were
- 25:19Speaker 1: just bad ass motherfuckers, him and his roommates, and they
- 25:22Speaker 1: were just brawl every weekend. I would show up and
- 25:25Speaker 1: just joined.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Hey, Rob, we want to go get this one in.
- 25:32Speaker 1: We would literally walk from the bar and just try
- 25:34Speaker 1: to pick a fight on the way home. I was
- 25:36Speaker 1: running into people on purpose, and then next thing you know,
- 25:38Speaker 1: it was a five on five brawl. I was getting
- 25:41Speaker 1: thrown down a hill. My brother kicked the guy in
- 25:42Speaker 1: the face. Next thing I know, I look up the
- 25:45Speaker 1: hill and the guy's falling down the hill. That threw
- 25:47Speaker 1: me down the hill. But I got in a little fight.
- 25:50Speaker 1: It wasn't that big of a fight at the at
- 25:52Speaker 1: the Ohio State. It was just a little you know,
- 25:54Speaker 1: scuffle and uh. But we had a good time. And
- 25:57Speaker 1: the next morning went to the game. I think that
- 25:59Speaker 1: was Ohio State versus I forgot who they were playing,
- 26:04Speaker 1: but I was hurting.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Look at this guy in the bottom all the waters and.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I have, yeah, all the did Ohio State? Did any
- 26:12Speaker 3: of the staff know that you'd got in a fight
- 26:14Speaker 3: the night before?
- 26:14Speaker 1: No, no, no clue, no clue. It wasn't that big
- 26:17Speaker 1: of a fight. It wasn't worth, you know, being in
- 26:20Speaker 1: the news either. It wasn't newsworthy. It wasn't like there's
- 26:25Speaker 1: no like phones back then or which was the best time.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I'm so glad none of that ship existed like when
- 26:32Speaker 1: I was in college, Like it was an era of
- 26:33Speaker 1: like the South. The camera phones were just beginning when
- 26:36Speaker 1: I was in college. But like that absolutely sucks to
- 26:38Speaker 1: be a superstar in college right now. You can't like
- 26:41Speaker 1: really live a college life because everyone has those camera phones.
- 26:44Speaker 1: If you go out, you know, to a house party's
- 26:46Speaker 1: going to be filmed, Like that's not cool at that age. Yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 1: you really can't have that true college experience. And I
- 26:51Speaker 1: feel like I was that last era to be able
- 26:53Speaker 1: to do all the crazy shit without ever being on
- 26:57Speaker 1: like a cell phone or being like reported to Twitter us.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I wasn't as good as you know. I was in
- 27:02Speaker 1: the NFL as I was in college. I was a
- 27:03Speaker 1: good player, but it's not like, you know, people knew
- 27:06Speaker 1: me like that. I could ride around you.
- 27:07Speaker 4: But you chose to leave earlier.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I left early as well.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Yeah, but you got to be pretty damn good to
- 27:11Speaker 4: be able to enter your name.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Into the drum.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, which sucked because I didn't even play my junior year. Really, Yeah,
- 27:17Speaker 1: which sucked. I was about the ball out man. I
- 27:20Speaker 1: was ready to go. My junior year, Nick Foles with
- 27:22Speaker 1: our quarterback. We had a solid team. We went eight
- 27:24Speaker 1: and four that year. My brother was the full back
- 27:27Speaker 1: as well, so it sucked. I complay with my brother,
- 27:28Speaker 1: my friends with Foles. We were bawling in the spring
- 27:31Speaker 1: game as well, Like eight catchers for like one hundred
- 27:33Speaker 1: in the spring game. And that was the first time
- 27:35Speaker 1: that we even played together, Foles and I, and then
- 27:38Speaker 1: I just blew out my back. Bro I had that
- 27:40Speaker 1: micro with the second me surgery where I think it
- 27:43Speaker 1: was just just going to ham in college lifting, doing
- 27:46Speaker 1: all the other you know, extra activities as well, and
- 27:49Speaker 1: then I just had a major ballging disc and I
- 27:52Speaker 1: just kept going harder and harder on it, and like
- 27:55Speaker 1: the harder I went on it, the more numb it
- 27:57Speaker 1: would get. At that moment, and I was able to
- 27:59Speaker 1: go out to practice and lift, and then like that night,
- 28:01Speaker 1: I wouldn't be able to move, and the next day
- 28:03Speaker 1: I would just go hard on it again, and eventually
- 28:05Speaker 1: I blew it out totally, like I couldn't even feel
- 28:07Speaker 1: my legs anymore when I was nineteen years old. And
- 28:10Speaker 1: then it sucked because I had to get the surgery
- 28:12Speaker 1: that and then finally I was like, yo, my bat's
- 28:14Speaker 1: fucked up. And then I even went out to training
- 28:17Speaker 1: camp and got open on an in route, ran so slow,
- 28:20Speaker 1: but the well it opened up, the defense opened up,
- 28:23Speaker 1: and I caught the pass, turned around like one mile
- 28:25Speaker 1: prour and I walked off the field. I was like, yo,
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm fucked like and then we were finally like all right,
- 28:29Speaker 1: let's get an MRI and my back was blown out.
- 28:31Speaker 1: The disc was so hurtinated on the spinal cord. And
- 28:34Speaker 1: then eventually I got the surgery and missed my junior year,
- 28:37Speaker 1: which you know, if I could go back, that's one
- 28:39Speaker 1: thing I would do, is if I wish I could
- 28:42Speaker 1: replay my junior year and play at the University of Arizona.
- 28:45Speaker 1: But I still left early, still left early.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Yes, we must have had a good couple of first years.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Then I did what was crazy is my freshman year
- 28:54Speaker 1: going in, I had six touchdowns, you know, like five
- 28:57Speaker 1: hundred something yards. I was bawling. But then going into
- 29:00Speaker 1: my sophomore year, I was like, I'm ready to dominate.
- 29:03Speaker 1: You know, it's kind of like the NFL. You know,
- 29:04Speaker 1: you're getting your feet wet. I didn't really know the
- 29:06Speaker 1: playbook that well, you know, adjusting to life, trying to
- 29:12Speaker 1: you know, do the dumb shit off the field as well.
- 29:15Speaker 1: That was more important. Was it was really more important
- 29:18Speaker 1: to me. I'm not gonna it was probably just as
- 29:20Speaker 1: important as football was to me. Was going out and
- 29:23Speaker 1: acting like an idiot. You know, rookie year in the
- 29:26Speaker 1: NFL and freshman year of college. You can't blame. Eighteen
- 29:30Speaker 1: years old, twenty one years old, I had a place
- 29:32Speaker 1: like u A too, and then going in my sophomore
- 29:34Speaker 1: I'm ready to dominate. I get mono, I get monos somehow.
- 29:37Speaker 3: And I'm like.
- 29:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And I had to miss the first three games because
- 29:43Speaker 1: they say like, oh, your spleen's blown up. You know
- 29:45Speaker 1: you gotta miss So I missed three games my sophomore year,
- 29:49Speaker 1: true sophomore year. Came back and played, like, uh, what
- 29:53Speaker 1: is it you missed? Three? Was twelve games and the
- 29:55Speaker 1: season played nine games, had like ten touchdowns and balled out.
- 29:59Speaker 1: And then we went to the Las Vegas Ball which
- 30:01Speaker 1: which was my last game I played at the University
- 30:03Speaker 1: of Arizona. And that was the year my brother and
- 30:05Speaker 1: I played together and he had a great game. I
- 30:08Speaker 1: only had like, you know, twenty yards that bowl game,
- 30:11Speaker 1: but we won. It was the first bowl game that
- 30:13Speaker 1: the University of Arizona even went to in ten years
- 30:16Speaker 1: and we won it. And then that was my last
- 30:18Speaker 1: last game as a Wildcat. But overall, I played sixteen
- 30:23Speaker 1: games in college and had sixteen touchdowns as an eighteen
- 30:26Speaker 1: year old and nineteen year old.
- 30:27Speaker 4: That is awesome.
- 30:28Speaker 1: So I had enough film to get me, you know,
- 30:31Speaker 1: drafted in the second round.
- 30:32Speaker 4: When you had the bulging discs and you got the
- 30:34Speaker 4: MRI and like you can't even feel your legs. Did
- 30:36Speaker 4: you think at any point that your career was over?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I sure did. Actually I went and actually it
- 30:41Speaker 1: was lucky enough. I had an insurance policy. My dad
- 30:44Speaker 1: got me an insurance policy going into my junior year
- 30:46Speaker 1: because I was you know, I was kind of highly rated,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you know that I could get drafted that year in
- 30:50Speaker 1: like the top three rounds. So I had an insurance
- 30:52Speaker 1: policy and I could have cashed out on it. Actually
- 30:55Speaker 1: because they were saying I had spinaldnosis. What is it spinal?
- 31:00Speaker 3: I wouldn't.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't know spinal what's that word nosis? I'm saying
- 31:03Speaker 1: don nosis, spinal stunn nosis, And like my spines curved
- 31:07Speaker 1: and there was a lot of question marks on my
- 31:09Speaker 1: back and they were like, oh, Like the insurance company
- 31:11Speaker 1: was like, hey, you can never play football again if
- 31:13Speaker 1: you get that policy, and I was like, I was
- 31:15Speaker 1: like fuck that, I'm playing football. That was my ultimate dream.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I always wanted to be in the NFL. I'll just
- 31:20Speaker 1: work through this. But at some points trying to come
- 31:23Speaker 1: back because that was my first surgery. Like I couldn't
- 31:26Speaker 1: really get that pop back because you lose that pop
- 31:29Speaker 1: because the spinal corp is completely shut down and like
- 31:31Speaker 1: to get that pop, to get that explosive on this back.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I was training. I left early. I was training for
- 31:36Speaker 1: the combine, and right before the combine, I didn't even
- 31:39Speaker 1: participate in the combine because at that time I didn't
- 31:41Speaker 1: even have that pop still, Like I couldn't even broad jump.
- 31:43Speaker 4: You just played high school football, basically, what's the NFL?
- 31:46Speaker 1: And finally, boom, I got it back. And then you know,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I kind of understood the recovery process and all that,
- 31:52Speaker 1: and then I was finally like, all right, I can
- 31:54Speaker 1: play again. I got this. But there was a little
- 31:56Speaker 1: point like, man, I might not ever be able to
- 31:59Speaker 1: play again because like you know that, you know, you've
- 32:01Speaker 1: never been through that experience, you know. So I'm glad
- 32:05Speaker 1: I got over that fear and over that stage because
- 32:08Speaker 1: everything worked out. You didn't even play your junior year, No,
- 32:10Speaker 1: not not one snap.
- 32:12Speaker 5: You know, the last game of him officially like as
- 32:14Speaker 5: a as a wildcat Nebraska.
- 32:18Speaker 1: No, that was the year I didn't play. Brother, was
- 32:20Speaker 1: that first year were you on that team.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I was a freshman.
- 32:23Speaker 1: You were a freshman. So that was the year.
- 32:24Speaker 3: I didn't play that Alida.
- 32:26Speaker 1: The Holly Bowl. We got smacked by you guys. You
- 32:28Speaker 1: had gotten them at the time. He went what number
- 32:32Speaker 1: two overall that year, But that was the year I
- 32:34Speaker 1: got hurt. And if I didn't get hurt, we would
- 32:36Speaker 1: have watched your ass brother, But I think actually we
- 32:39Speaker 1: would have been the Yeah, that.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Thirty three to nothing.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I was chilling, chilling. You guys are chilling when you're
- 32:50Speaker 1: I was young. Yeah, wamped us.
- 32:53Speaker 4: What you're a red shirting.
- 32:54Speaker 3: This was my freshman red shirt year, not my red shirt,
- 32:58Speaker 3: not my Rechert year, but my Sea freshman year.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that was bad. We got wamped. I was there.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Though I was there, I didn't play that whole year. Man.
- 33:07Speaker 1: It sucked. It sucks not playing, dude.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you're just staying there. It's fast.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I was. I was standing on.
- 33:13Speaker 5: It's fascinating to me that he got draft in the
- 33:16Speaker 5: second round and he only played sixteen games in college
- 33:19Speaker 5: and he had back surgery, and I had all these
- 33:22Speaker 5: question marks about it going up to the combine. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 5: like in the pre draft process.
- 33:26Speaker 1: And it didn't even participate at the combine. I did
- 33:28Speaker 1: the bench press, got twenty three, didn't you U?
- 33:33Speaker 3: Did you fall asleep in a in a draft interview?
- 33:35Speaker 1: Yes, with the Patriots with Bilt Phil. Yeah. Bill told
- 33:38Speaker 1: this story plenty of times. This story's been talking about plenty.
- 33:41Speaker 1: But I was so tired, man, because you know that
- 33:43Speaker 1: draft process. I think it's the stupidest process as well,
- 33:46Speaker 1: Like you go from team to team. It's like you're
- 33:48Speaker 1: on fifteen flights in like fifteen days getting interviewed by
- 33:51Speaker 1: all these teams, and the Patriots were my last one,
- 33:53Speaker 1: and I was exhausted. I fell asleep like the first
- 33:56Speaker 1: ten minutes I got there in the room that they
- 33:58Speaker 1: put me in there, like hey, we'll be right back,
- 34:00Speaker 1: and I fell asleep on the spot or when they
- 34:02Speaker 1: came back in to check on me. And then I
- 34:04Speaker 1: also bombed the interview process, but like bombed it in
- 34:07Speaker 1: the best way possible.
- 34:10Speaker 4: Something in the best way possible, all.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Right, Like for example, they drew a play on the board, Billy, oh,
- 34:15Speaker 1: and he's and then he raced it. He's like, draw
- 34:17Speaker 1: the play? What you got? What does everyone have? And
- 34:20Speaker 1: it was one of the hottest plays. It's still a
- 34:22Speaker 1: route that I still don't even understand olpak. It's like
- 34:25Speaker 1: the receiver goes up and down back like a comeback,
- 34:28Speaker 1: and then he goes takes off again and he makes
- 34:29Speaker 1: another comeback something you know way but like the longest
- 34:33Speaker 1: progressive way above my you know, my skill set. I
- 34:37Speaker 1: don't run routes like that. I don't stop go stop.
- 34:39Speaker 1: It's too big to stop and go. And I was
- 34:41Speaker 1: like what, So He's like redraw the whole play and
- 34:44Speaker 1: I was like, brother, like I'm stuck, like I like
- 34:47Speaker 1: ground zero, I Matt like, and I was like, you
- 34:50Speaker 1: know something, though, just throw me the fucking boss still.
- 34:52Speaker 1: And like like I was like that, like that type
- 34:55Speaker 1: of interview, like what you would just say, this is
- 34:58Speaker 1: above that. I would just come up up with an
- 35:00Speaker 1: insane answer like.
- 35:01Speaker 4: That, Yeah, just throw me the ball still.
- 35:04Speaker 1: That's all I know.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Did we Were you ever like nervous for these coaches
- 35:07Speaker 4: because they have that kind of hey, just throw me
- 35:09Speaker 4: the ball anyway. It just screams confidence.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I was never really nervous because you stand up at
- 35:15Speaker 1: the whiteboard with the marker in hand, trying to think,
- 35:18Speaker 1: like ship, what was the play drew?
- 35:19Speaker 4: And then just like hey, you had a double comeback.
- 35:22Speaker 4: He's just talking about like I'm.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Gonna be honest, I don't remember, but yeah, just.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I was cashed out though. It was like my fifteen
- 35:29Speaker 1: visit in like the last fifteen days. I was cashed out.
- 35:33Speaker 4: And what were you uh you said you had fifteen visits.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Of all the visits, like which one did go the best.
- 35:39Speaker 1: It was probably about like eight visits or so fifteen
- 35:41Speaker 1: was a little exaggerated. That's like eight. But at fifteen
- 35:44Speaker 1: including the Combine, Yeah, you know, I met with fifteen
- 35:46Speaker 1: teams there, but uh, you know, I felt like they
- 35:50Speaker 1: all went really smooth. You know, I was on point
- 35:52Speaker 1: with them all, you know, the Cincinnati Bengals one, I was.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I really wanted to be on point because we all
- 35:56Speaker 1: knew that they were going to draft a tight end
- 35:58Speaker 1: first round and then they tell Jermaine Gresham. But they
- 36:01Speaker 1: were interviewing me like crazy now they had the twenty
- 36:04Speaker 1: first pick. I felt like I smacked everything right on
- 36:08Speaker 1: the money with all the questions, my interviews at the Combine,
- 36:11Speaker 1: I felt like I did a great job and everything,
- 36:14Speaker 1: but just overall just bombed the New zorleand Patriots one
- 36:18Speaker 1: like bombed it. Like in the worst way possible. Like
- 36:22Speaker 1: I said, like I like when Billy oll and Bill
- 36:25Speaker 1: described how the official visit went, or it's not the
- 36:29Speaker 1: official visit, that's in high school, how the interview visit went.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But you know, and also at the time, like there
- 36:36Speaker 1: was so many players getting in trouble in the NFL,
- 36:38Speaker 1: and I remember I called my brother. I was like,
- 36:40Speaker 1: fuck this, I'm going to act like a complete idiot.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I feel like it gets you, like more chances, you know,
- 36:44Speaker 1: because there was like five guys that were just arrested
- 36:47Speaker 1: and they were signing big deals in the NFL. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: they're like, oh, that's a good way to think about
- 36:51Speaker 1: it and look at it. Yeah, use that theory, robed go. Yeah,
- 36:55Speaker 1: and I did. And it worked. It worked. That is
- 37:01Speaker 1: Jones was getting arrested all the time.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a crazy time.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he signed a big deal and I
- 37:07Speaker 1: was like, yeah, it was like if you freaking act
- 37:09Speaker 1: like a fucking insane motherfucker, you're gonna get picked up.
- 37:13Speaker 1: So it's crazy process like that, And it worked.
- 37:18Speaker 3: That is working.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You gotta be you gotta be nuts. You got to
- 37:20Speaker 1: be tapped in order to play in the NFL as well.
- 37:23Speaker 4: To something I think. I think it depends in the position.
- 37:25Speaker 4: Depends in the positions, Like if you're a d end,
- 37:28Speaker 4: a tight end like wide receivers and corners, they have
- 37:30Speaker 4: their own like cocky personalities or stereotypuilt cocky personalities. Quarterbacks
- 37:34Speaker 4: I feel have to be composed, calm, confident individuals. But yeah,
- 37:39Speaker 4: a psychoic like the psychotic tight end. Yeah, the psychotic
- 37:42Speaker 4: tight end is you made a name for the for
- 37:45Speaker 4: the brand you you you walked so the George Kittles
- 37:48Speaker 4: could run because you've got a whole bunch of different guys.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Now he crushing. He's got paid big time again.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Yeah, thirty one, thirty two, he's got paid thirty one
- 37:59Speaker 1: years older man, Yeah thirty one getting paid like that,
- 38:03Speaker 1: well deserved. He's got a lot left.
- 38:06Speaker 4: So when you're you're at the draft, first round goes by,
- 38:09Speaker 4: were you like upset at all? Or were you like we
- 38:11Speaker 4: knew this was a possibility.
- 38:14Speaker 1: No, I was upset. It's my mom says that there's
- 38:18Speaker 1: two times in my life that she's ever seen me upset.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I forgot the second time. We got to give her
- 38:23Speaker 1: a call. If she told me, I would remember, like
- 38:27Speaker 1: it would be like that. But she's And the other
- 38:30Speaker 1: time was not getting drafted in the first round. While
- 38:32Speaker 1: I was at the draft in New York City.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Did you have all the cameras rounds you and everything.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Not really, you know, it wasn't really expected for me
- 38:39Speaker 1: to go in the first round. It was the first time,
- 38:40Speaker 1: I like to say this, I was infamously, you know,
- 38:44Speaker 1: drafted as the first player going to New York as
- 38:48Speaker 1: the first player getting drafted at the draft in the
- 38:51Speaker 1: second round. So that's how I look at it, as
- 38:54Speaker 1: I started that trend, if you go to the draft,
- 38:56Speaker 1: it's fine that you get drafted in the second round. Still,
- 38:59Speaker 1: I was the first to that to ever have that
- 39:02Speaker 1: happen to But there was also other ones after me
- 39:04Speaker 1: as well that year that got drafted in the second
- 39:06Speaker 1: and third round. But you know, I was ticked off.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I felt like I deserved to go in the first
- 39:10Speaker 1: I was always a goal of mine. But after I
- 39:12Speaker 1: got picked by the New England Patriots in the second
- 39:15Speaker 1: round and they traded up for me, I thought that
- 39:16Speaker 1: was really cool getting traded up for like, you know,
- 39:19Speaker 1: it's unique and like you feel special about that situation.
- 39:22Speaker 1: But once I got drafted, man, I didn't care one
- 39:24Speaker 1: single bit anymore that you know, I wasn't a first rounder.
- 39:27Speaker 1: It was It was a blessing. It was one of
- 39:29Speaker 1: the best feelings of all time that you know, could
- 39:31Speaker 1: ever happen to you.
- 39:32Speaker 5: Knowing that the expectation wasn't necessarily for you to go
- 39:35Speaker 5: in the first round. What made you decide to still
- 39:36Speaker 5: go to like New York and be potentially around the
- 39:39Speaker 5: cameras and everything when it's it's a possibility that you
- 39:41Speaker 5: might not go in the first round.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Well, I didn't really look at it as like, oh,
- 39:45Speaker 1: I got to be a first rounder because they drafty.
- 39:48Speaker 1: They actually brought in a lot of other players as
- 39:50Speaker 1: well that were expected to go in the second round.
- 39:52Speaker 1: So it wasn't like I was gonna, you know, feel
- 39:54Speaker 1: uncomfortable there, gotcha. So there was like five other players
- 39:58Speaker 1: that didn't get drafted. Again, it was its first You're like, hey,
- 40:00Speaker 1: we want first rounders and second rounders at the draft.
- 40:03Speaker 1: We want to expand it. We want to show the inside,
- 40:06Speaker 1: you know, for both rounds, not just the top ten picks.
- 40:09Speaker 1: So they expanded how many players they invited to the draft,
- 40:12Speaker 1: and it was about like twenty five guys there, So
- 40:14Speaker 1: like twenty five guys aren't going in the first round.
- 40:17Speaker 1: That's too hired to be able to balance at to
- 40:19Speaker 1: know who's going where. So I didn't care. I thought
- 40:22Speaker 1: it was cool. And being you know, twenty years old,
- 40:25Speaker 1: you know you look for the spotlight then, you know,
- 40:27Speaker 1: and whenever you're going to invite, you take it. You
- 40:29Speaker 1: know at that age. Now these days you pick and choose,
- 40:32Speaker 1: like I got to go do that in front of
- 40:33Speaker 1: the camera. You're like, ah, whatever, you know, but when
- 40:36Speaker 1: you're twenty years old, you love all those moments. You're
- 40:38Speaker 1: never saying no at twenty years old. So I was
- 40:41Speaker 1: definitely not going to say no to that situation. And
- 40:45Speaker 1: you know, being at the draft, you know that as
- 40:48Speaker 1: a kid, that's all you look forward to, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 1: watching all the players get drafted, like that could be me.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I just got the invite, you know, I wasn't not
- 40:54Speaker 1: going to.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Guys standing up there a hole in the jersey shaking
- 40:57Speaker 4: Goodell's hand exactly.
- 40:58Speaker 3: That's badass.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it is all really is.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Did you did you.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Plan the celebration that you do with your family, because
- 41:04Speaker 4: it is it's got to be number one.
- 41:05Speaker 1: It is epic, and you know it's still talked about
- 41:07Speaker 1: to this day, definitely, But that's just how we were,
- 41:10Speaker 1: you know. You know, that's how we party at the
- 41:12Speaker 1: University of Arizona. We got around, who are I jump
- 41:15Speaker 1: up and down, get rowdy, all that good stuff, and
- 41:17Speaker 1: whenever we get together as a family, it was just
- 41:19Speaker 1: bringing all the energy and juice to the table. So
- 41:22Speaker 1: we knew we're going to be celebrating, but not to
- 41:24Speaker 1: the extent of like putting the helmets on, putting my
- 41:27Speaker 1: hand down versus my brother, you know, getting in a
- 41:29Speaker 1: circle and hooing all over the place. So that was
- 41:32Speaker 1: just on the spot right there. That was cool. It
- 41:37Speaker 1: was good man.
- 41:37Speaker 5: You talked about comparing like saying that your off the
- 41:41Speaker 5: field life was just as important to you as on
- 41:43Speaker 5: the field. Was that How long did that carry into
- 41:46Speaker 5: your NFL career.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I would say just a couple of years. I mean
- 41:50Speaker 1: I started realizing that football, you know, is definitely number
- 41:56Speaker 1: one in my life, and that football, you know, needs
- 41:59Speaker 1: to be number one. Like I can't be putting football aside,
- 42:04Speaker 1: I can't be putting the training aside just because I
- 42:07Speaker 1: want to go out, hang out with the friends, be
- 42:09Speaker 1: busting with the boys, and you know, at whatever college
- 42:13Speaker 1: I'm visiting my buddies at because I left college early,
- 42:16Speaker 1: so after my rookie year, all my friends were still
- 42:19Speaker 1: in college, you know. So I'm visiting Miami, Ohio, which home.
- 42:23Speaker 1: My gosh, going out there, that place is crazy, rocking bro.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I got my jersey up at Brick Street still. I mean,
- 42:29Speaker 1: I'm a legend there. I'm visiting pool parties. Look at
- 42:33Speaker 1: those pictures. So I'm going Ham. At least I'm going
- 42:37Speaker 1: so Ham. I was getting exercise while I was going Ham.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I was staying in shape. I was burning at least
- 42:41Speaker 1: a thousand to two thousand calories just dancing the three
- 42:44Speaker 1: four hour period of going out. But I realized that
- 42:48Speaker 1: football has to be number one, though, and football is
- 42:51Speaker 1: going to sustain that, you know, the extra activities as well.
- 42:56Speaker 1: And so if I keep the football, you know activities
- 43:00Speaker 1: and football, you know, skills at the highest level, everything
- 43:03Speaker 1: else is always going to be there. I learned that
- 43:04Speaker 1: about two three years into the league.
- 43:06Speaker 3: What made you come to this realization?
- 43:08Speaker 5: Was it a conversation with the teammate, just family members,
- 43:11Speaker 5: your experience of showing up the football and being deteriorated
- 43:16Speaker 5: and sucking and being out of shape and mind the
- 43:20Speaker 5: puke and feeling.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Like every single one of your muscles are gonna spas
- 43:24Speaker 1: them out there on the field or pull and like yeah,
- 43:26Speaker 1: it's like miserable and you're like, yeah, I shouldn't be
- 43:29Speaker 1: out here right now. And you got to work your
- 43:30Speaker 1: way through it because you got to show that you know,
- 43:32Speaker 1: you're doing the proper things. You know. But when when
- 43:36Speaker 1: you hit you know, real life, when you hit that
- 43:38Speaker 1: realization on the field of it's not going well, you know,
- 43:42Speaker 1: that's when you know you got to tune things up
- 43:44Speaker 1: and you got to change whatever whatever you're doing. I mean,
- 43:48Speaker 1: I'm sure you experienced that before at least once or twice.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Did your realization that football has to be the main thing?
- 43:54Speaker 1: Yeah, oh absolutely, everyone has.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Pretty young for me, because you know they're hearing about
- 43:59Speaker 5: the stories that you have. I just I think in
- 44:01Speaker 5: my head, like I don't know how I would function
- 44:04Speaker 5: as an athlete in college if I, like my night
- 44:07Speaker 5: life was just right there. I put as much into
- 44:09Speaker 5: my night life as I did football. So I feel
- 44:11Speaker 5: like it just wouldn't. I don't know, I feel like
- 44:13Speaker 5: it genetically it wasn't. It wouldn't have worked for me.
- 44:15Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, hearing the way you talk about it, it sounds
- 44:17Speaker 4: like you were like practicing and then after practice you're like, Okay,
- 44:20Speaker 4: what are we going to do tonight? And for me,
- 44:21Speaker 4: like I have partied a lot in college in my
- 44:23Speaker 4: first couple years in the NFL, but it was always
- 44:25Speaker 4: to me like I'd act like in my brain I'd
- 44:27Speaker 4: be like, I'm not going to go out this weekend.
- 44:28Speaker 4: Then accidentally, all of a sudden, I'd be It'd be
- 44:30Speaker 4: two am on a Saturday, and I'd be up at
- 44:32Speaker 4: Losers or Rick's American Cafe in ann Arbor. It seemed
- 44:36Speaker 4: like you were like, I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna
- 44:38Speaker 4: work really hard at football so I can go party
- 44:41Speaker 4: and get the most out of that.
- 44:43Speaker 1: There we go. That's exactly how it went, no doubt
- 44:45Speaker 1: about it. And also going out in the party, and
- 44:49Speaker 1: it wasn't you know, throughout the week. It was only
- 44:52Speaker 1: one night a week, or maybe possibly two nights a
- 44:54Speaker 1: week during the off season. It wasn't an everyday thing.
- 44:57Speaker 1: If it wasn't every night thing, then I would definitely
- 44:59Speaker 1: never be I am right now. So I always put
- 45:02Speaker 1: that work into and then sometimes we're in the weight
- 45:04Speaker 1: room and we would work harder. We would be pushing
- 45:06Speaker 1: each other harder because we'd be like, hey, you got
- 45:07Speaker 1: to look Jack tonight. You know, you got you extra
- 45:11Speaker 1: you know, twenty crunches, extra minute on the plank, you know,
- 45:15Speaker 1: extra set of the bench press. So that motivated you.
- 45:18Speaker 1: That got you to where you needed to get to
- 45:19Speaker 1: because then you felt like you deserve to go out
- 45:21Speaker 1: that night too. So uh, you know, it was always
- 45:24Speaker 1: in back of the mind. Uh, But it wasn't like,
- 45:27Speaker 1: you know, a daily thing. If it was a daily thing,
- 45:30Speaker 1: I've seen players go through the daily thing where they're
- 45:32Speaker 1: going out, you know, throughout the week too. And I
- 45:34Speaker 1: always knew too as a kid, even in college, I'm like, no,
- 45:37Speaker 1: I ain't touching that during the week. I ain't going
- 45:39Speaker 1: out during the week. I need my sleep, you know,
- 45:41Speaker 1: I need I need to go to classes, obviously, I
- 45:43Speaker 1: need to be ready for practice. And then I always
- 45:46Speaker 1: actually did it when I always knew I had basically
- 45:48Speaker 1: had off the next day as well. Yeah, sometimes in
- 45:50Speaker 1: the younger generation era, you know, you would do it
- 45:53Speaker 1: with practice till the next day at like ten am
- 45:55Speaker 1: or eleven, and you would just fight your you know,
- 45:57Speaker 1: fight your life through it. But Jory of the time.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I would know I would have off next day as
- 46:02Speaker 1: well to recover, rehydrate and all the good stuff. So
- 46:06Speaker 1: I was I did all the all the stupid shit
- 46:11Speaker 1: the smartest way possible.
- 46:13Speaker 5: I feel that, Yeah, you grind it through it. Even
- 46:15Speaker 5: in workout. It's like if I would be hungover, Like
- 46:17Speaker 5: I remember a couple times where I'd be hungover, you
- 46:19Speaker 5: try to have a late night and you work out
- 46:21Speaker 5: the next day, and when I felt like I was
- 46:22Speaker 5: on the verge of throwing up or my body feeling
- 46:24Speaker 5: the way it did, it'd be like when you're on
- 46:25Speaker 5: a knee listening to your coach talking, I'm just thinking
- 46:27Speaker 5: in my head, I got it.
- 46:29Speaker 3: I can't do this, Yeah, I can't like continue.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I guess.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Yeah, that's always the second guess, because when you go out,
- 46:33Speaker 4: you're like, this is gonna be awesome, and then when
- 46:35Speaker 4: you're a peak drunk, you're like, I'm gonna power through tomorrow.
- 46:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna absolutely crush it. And the minute you get
- 46:39Speaker 4: wake up the next day, I can never do that again. Yeah,
- 46:42Speaker 4: But then it goes like it's Monday, You're like, I'm
- 46:44Speaker 4: not drinking. I'm living my life like a Saint. Now
- 46:48Speaker 4: Tuesday comes by, you're like just a good old boy. Wednesday,
- 46:50Speaker 4: it's like, you know, Friday is right around the corner,
- 46:52Speaker 4: and it is a lot of fun. Thursdays like, all right,
- 46:55Speaker 4: one more weekend and then we're solid. And then all
- 46:57Speaker 4: of a sudden, it's Friday, Saturday, and then Sunday you're.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Like, all right, yes, just had that timeline, perfect, dude,
- 47:04Speaker 1: because that's what it is you always have, Like the
- 47:05Speaker 1: Sunday scariers.
- 47:06Speaker 4: You were like, you've rethought your entire life, and you're like,
- 47:08Speaker 4: this is it. This is the day I changed who
- 47:10Speaker 4: I really am, and then by Friday you're back to
- 47:12Speaker 4: being the same fucking person over and over again. I
- 47:14Speaker 4: can't imagine that first off season you had after your
- 47:16Speaker 4: first year in the NFL, because because in college, it's
- 47:19Speaker 4: like back when you played, it was you have like
- 47:21Speaker 4: a week off at most, right two weeks if you
- 47:22Speaker 4: don't make a bowl game.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Well. The best thing about it, too, was it was
- 47:25Speaker 1: the lockout, so we weren't even allowed to have an
- 47:27Speaker 1: off season that year, so I had a true six
- 47:30Speaker 1: months of just doing whatever I wanted to do.
- 47:32Speaker 4: So I was gonna Belichick his pants.
- 47:35Speaker 1: He really was, and that's when like kind of like
- 47:36Speaker 1: videos were starting to service on the Internet of me.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I was back at the University of Arizona with the
- 47:41Speaker 1: basketball players at a pool party, just going ape shit.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I was visiting my friends, like you said, in college, Miami, Ohio.
- 47:47Speaker 1: I got to bring that place up again. I'm telling you,
- 47:49Speaker 1: a spectacular place if you're a young buck. Just the
- 47:52Speaker 1: atmosphere that that's presented there is just phenomenal, h and
- 47:56Speaker 1: just everything else. I learned what Vegas was that year
- 47:59Speaker 1: as well, after my rookie year. But this is like
- 48:02Speaker 1: I never had. I never had the responsibility of going
- 48:05Speaker 1: back and training, you know, up in New England because
- 48:08Speaker 1: we were locked out. We weren't allowed back there for
- 48:10Speaker 1: the whole six months. And then I ended up though,
- 48:12Speaker 1: showing up and absolutely balling and training camp and having
- 48:15Speaker 1: my breakout season where I scored like twenty one touchdowns
- 48:19Speaker 1: including the playoffs, and like broke every record as a
- 48:21Speaker 1: tight end. So I guess I can contribute it to
- 48:24Speaker 1: all my dancing and all my party because I was moving,
- 48:27Speaker 1: I'm talking about my stamina was up there. I was
- 48:29Speaker 1: staying loose, you know, just jiggling everything on my body.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Just every type of motion you could possibly think of,
- 48:35Speaker 1: tworking to the extreme powers. Like I swear, that's what
- 48:40Speaker 1: got me through was just NonStop movement. You know you
- 48:44Speaker 1: do the lifting. You know, they say you got to
- 48:46Speaker 1: have that base, like you know, the foundation of like
- 48:51Speaker 1: your core of being loose, flexibility and stamina of the
- 48:55Speaker 1: little muscles firing. And that's what got me the you know,
- 48:59Speaker 1: keep everything firing at a proper rate. Was all the
- 49:01Speaker 1: dancing and all the movements throwing your friends up in
- 49:04Speaker 1: the air on top of lifting as well. Yeah, when
- 49:09Speaker 1: did you right? I swear, though I swear, I mean
- 49:12Speaker 1: I don't really do that really, I like try to
- 49:14Speaker 1: go out and like I dance for like five minutes,
- 49:16Speaker 1: and I'm like, how the fuck was I dancing for
- 49:18Speaker 1: three hours straight? Like I can dance for five minutes now,
- 49:21Speaker 1: I'm like all right, Like I can't dance any longer anymore.
- 49:24Speaker 4: When did you realize that your party and your antics
- 49:27Speaker 4: could become like a massive brand? Because now you have
- 49:29Speaker 4: like grunk Beach, your brother you and your brothers. You
- 49:31Speaker 4: did the cruise, so you have you have so many
- 49:33Speaker 4: things that are revolved around a lot of things that
- 49:36Speaker 4: used to get you in trouble. When did that transition
- 49:39Speaker 4: happen where you're like, oh, I can actually make money
- 49:40Speaker 4: doing this?
- 49:41Speaker 1: Uh, you know, it kind of just happened naturally as well.
- 49:44Speaker 1: It wasn't like I was doing it as like a
- 49:46Speaker 1: scheme or a play or you know, to get like
- 49:51Speaker 1: notoriety notoriety from it. Not at all. Man. I was
- 49:54Speaker 1: just being myself. What what I've been doing since, you know,
- 49:57Speaker 1: my college days and going into the NFL. Well, it
- 50:01Speaker 1: wasn't like, you know, anything was planned ever. I was
- 50:04Speaker 1: just doing me and then it just kept blowing up sometimes.
- 50:07Speaker 1: And that's why I just kept doing me, because I'm like,
- 50:08Speaker 1: I'm just doing me, like I'm not doing anything wrong.
- 50:11Speaker 1: I'm just having fun, you know. And then I really
- 50:13Speaker 1: noticed a couple of years into it, like all right,
- 50:16Speaker 1: like this is starting to become something because wherever I went,
- 50:18Speaker 1: people expected it, you know, and it was cool. It
- 50:20Speaker 1: was cool as shit. It was like, all right, I'm
- 50:22Speaker 1: going out, it's going to be so turned up. But
- 50:24Speaker 1: you have the energy when you're in the twenties as
- 50:26Speaker 1: well to turn up the whole entire place, get on
- 50:28Speaker 1: the bar, give everyone shots, all that good stuff. And
- 50:31Speaker 1: I noticed that you know, it could possibly be a brand,
- 50:34Speaker 1: Like it's working even though I'm just being myself. It's working.
- 50:37Speaker 1: It's blowing up, you know. At the same time, though,
- 50:40Speaker 1: I always knew that balling on the field was what
- 50:43Speaker 1: the real accelerator was, was what the engine was, was
- 50:46Speaker 1: balling on the field, because like, this guy's absolutely fucking
- 50:48Speaker 1: balling on the field, but he's going out with all
- 50:50Speaker 1: the fans as well and just having a good time
- 50:53Speaker 1: and going ham And then, you know, eventually though, I
- 50:57Speaker 1: kind of got over that kind of stigma, you know,
- 51:00Speaker 1: because it was hard, you know, in your mid twenties
- 51:03Speaker 1: easily with the energy to keep up with it. But
- 51:06Speaker 1: when I was starting to fade on the football field,
- 51:08Speaker 1: that was becoming hard off the field too, because I
- 51:10Speaker 1: was starting to back away from it big time because
- 51:13Speaker 1: football was, you know, starting to get away from me,
- 51:15Speaker 1: and I didn't want football to get away from me.
- 51:17Speaker 1: So I knew I had to start changing my lifestyle
- 51:20Speaker 1: big time. So I would start picking and choosing when
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'm going out, how much I'm going out then, and
- 51:26Speaker 1: all that good stuff, because I wanted, you know, to
- 51:29Speaker 1: be on top of my game for football. And now
- 51:31Speaker 1: to this day, you know, it is a brand, you know,
- 51:33Speaker 1: like a party brand. It really is. But I'm not
- 51:37Speaker 1: even close to partying how I was partying back in
- 51:39Speaker 1: the day, that twenty year old me, you know, got
- 51:44Speaker 1: that brand to sustain all the way to this day.
- 51:46Speaker 1: That's how ham I was going though back then. Yeah,
- 51:50Speaker 1: that's how much I was balling in the field. So
- 51:52Speaker 1: you know, it's cool, like throwing grunk beach, I just
- 51:55Speaker 1: pick and choose now, like grunk beach, I'll go hand,
- 51:57Speaker 1: but not like how I used to. You know, I
- 52:00Speaker 1: don't want to drink as much as I used to either.
- 52:02Speaker 1: It's it's not good for you. It is poison. You know.
- 52:04Speaker 1: I can't work out the next day. It takes three
- 52:06Speaker 1: days to recover. I'm really into health, you know now,
- 52:10Speaker 1: and and in fitness obviously I've been my whole life.
- 52:12Speaker 1: But uh just I'm always in for a good time.
- 52:16Speaker 1: But I'm more of the guy now you know that
- 52:19Speaker 1: likes to look like laid back and watch what's going
- 52:22Speaker 1: on and join a little bit of the action, but
- 52:24Speaker 1: you know, not going too crazy, not like.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Your young self.
- 52:27Speaker 5: Yeah, what were the what we're like the coaching moments,
- 52:29Speaker 5: like with somebody like Bill Belichick, you talk about how
- 52:32Speaker 5: like the Patriot way, how strict he was, how meetings
- 52:34Speaker 5: could run like in the early days before it becomes
- 52:37Speaker 5: a brand. Are there any moments you're having in the
- 52:39Speaker 5: facility with Coach Belichick before it like becomes a distraction
- 52:43Speaker 5: or hey, your brand or being more than the team?
- 52:46Speaker 5: Was there like a transition there, because obviously, when you
- 52:48Speaker 5: become drunk and you're the man, you guys are winning
- 52:50Speaker 5: super Bowls, it's a lot more accepted because you know
- 52:53Speaker 5: you're the man the Patriots are. You guys are winning
- 52:55Speaker 5: football games. But in the early years, when you're coming
- 52:57Speaker 5: back in these videos are surfacing, is there anything team
- 53:00Speaker 5: meetings with Coach Bill.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Here's the thing I always knew, if I showed up
- 53:04Speaker 1: and balled, I would be in good hands, still be
- 53:07Speaker 1: in good faith with the coaching staff, and Coach Belichick
- 53:10Speaker 1: let a lot of things go. If you were bawling
- 53:13Speaker 1: on the field, he didn't care if you were out
- 53:15Speaker 1: all night and showing up. As long as you produce
- 53:17Speaker 1: on that football field, he let everything go. It was fine.
- 53:23Speaker 1: But the second you started dropping off, oh shit, you
- 53:25Speaker 1: didn't want to be there. You didn't want to be
- 53:27Speaker 1: in that meeting you're getting called out. You're going to
- 53:29Speaker 1: have a one on one meeting like hey, mother, Like,
- 53:32Speaker 1: what the fuck are you doing? I see you out,
- 53:34Speaker 1: Like you can't even you know, come out to practice
- 53:38Speaker 1: and get open versus our undrafted free agent. Like so
- 53:41Speaker 1: he would let you know, and he would eventually let
- 53:43Speaker 1: you know in front of the team too, he would
- 53:44Speaker 1: call you out. So that's why, like you always had
- 53:48Speaker 1: to be on point when you enter that facility. And
- 53:50Speaker 1: that's why I believe that going to that destination, you know,
- 53:53Speaker 1: kept me on the grind too, Like yeah, the nightlife
- 53:56Speaker 1: and whatever you were doing outside of football, but the
- 53:58Speaker 1: second you stepped in that Bill and like you had
- 54:01Speaker 1: that motivation in that grind like oh fuck, Like I
- 54:03Speaker 1: got to absolutely dominate because I was out. Everyone saw it.
- 54:07Speaker 1: And if I don't produce on this field, oh fuck,
- 54:10Speaker 1: it's gonna be a bad day for me. So that
- 54:13Speaker 1: kind of got you to that level mindset, like that
- 54:16Speaker 1: you got a ball.
- 54:17Speaker 3: Did you ever have a moment with Bill where he
- 54:19Speaker 3: had to check you in a one on one or
- 54:20Speaker 3: a team meeting?
- 54:21Speaker 1: Not really, so, Julian and I we went out Memorial
- 54:24Speaker 1: Day weekend to narragainstt No, not narragarratt It, Nantucket, Naragainst's
- 54:30Speaker 1: and Rhode Isan. We went out to Nantucket for for
- 54:32Speaker 1: Galie weekend. We got absolutely, you know, hammered. We were
- 54:37Speaker 1: out of a golf cart. We're in the back, Julian
- 54:40Speaker 1: and I doing our thing, and the golf cart lifted
- 54:43Speaker 1: up in the air the front tires and we landed
- 54:45Speaker 1: on the ground and it was a video that surfaced
- 54:47Speaker 1: the internet and it was classic. And I remember the
- 54:51Speaker 1: next day or three days later, we go to whatever
- 54:56Speaker 1: OTAs running a rounds and Bill came up to us.
- 55:00Speaker 1: We were sweating all over. Please get all that fucking
- 55:02Speaker 1: ship out of your system. I saw you too, idiots
- 55:05Speaker 1: this weekend. You guys are fucking fools. Keep running, get
- 55:09Speaker 1: it all out of you. So we were balling though
- 55:12Speaker 1: we were out there. But Coach always got you to
- 55:14Speaker 1: that mindset hungover and not feeling so good when you
- 55:17Speaker 1: hit that field. That just the aura in New England
- 55:21Speaker 1: that got you to that mindset of whatever fuck is
- 55:24Speaker 1: in your system, however you feel get yeah, you better
- 55:28Speaker 1: not feel that way. It's gonna get It's gonna get
- 55:30Speaker 1: you over it when you hit that field right there
- 55:33Speaker 1: is that it is that the golf cart. Yeah, right
- 55:35Speaker 1: there there we are to oh the back of the
- 55:37Speaker 1: golf cart, broke. That's not good. This is like two
- 55:41Speaker 1: months before the season, is it really? But Justin Timberlake
- 55:45Speaker 1: loved it because that was the same night we were yeah,
- 55:49Speaker 1: right there, we were dancing to a song. This is
- 55:50Speaker 1: the same night we were dancing to a song gotta
- 55:54Speaker 1: feel it. Yeah, got a feeling and we were rocking out.
- 55:59Speaker 1: And then he to that the same night ladies to
- 56:03Speaker 1: groc get it playboy, So shout out to Justin timber
- 56:05Speaker 1: That's when I knew, all right, I gotta keep going.
- 56:09Speaker 1: You see those dance moves. Now you see why I.
- 56:11Speaker 4: Was getting out there.
- 56:13Speaker 1: You're staying loose. Look at shimminging all over the place
- 56:17Speaker 1: at that what.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Is it the shuffle?
- 56:19Speaker 4: You got something going there for sure. You talk about
- 56:23Speaker 4: the aura of New England those first couple of years,
- 56:26Speaker 4: Like what was it like for you picking up the playbook?
- 56:29Speaker 4: Understanding everything and knowing like what Tom wanted? Like how
- 56:32Speaker 4: demanding was Tom on you when it came to the
- 56:33Speaker 4: playbook and stuff like that.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Bro That's why I didn't play like my first eight games,
- 56:37Speaker 1: because I didn't really know the playbook like that I
- 56:39Speaker 1: had the skills, I had the talent, you know, but
- 56:42Speaker 1: they didn't trust me. I even had some great you
- 56:44Speaker 1: know highlights in the preseason that year. I had like
- 56:46Speaker 1: three touchdowns drag blaring nights into the end zone. Uh.
- 56:49Speaker 1: You like I showed some talent, Like I showed some bursts.
- 56:53Speaker 1: I showed like what the type of player I could be. Uh.
- 56:55Speaker 1: But then like practice would come still and I would
- 56:58Speaker 1: be fucking up tremendously, Like I would have five great
- 57:00Speaker 1: plays and I would have five terrible plays. I'd be
- 57:02Speaker 1: blocking the wrong guy, I'd be running the wrong route.
- 57:05Speaker 1: And when you're at that level, no matter how good
- 57:07Speaker 1: you are, if they can't trust in you doing the
- 57:10Speaker 1: right thing, well you're not going to play in New England.
- 57:12Speaker 1: They don't give a fuck how good you are. They're
- 57:14Speaker 1: not going to play you. And they let me know that.
- 57:17Speaker 1: And the first eight games I only had about fifteen
- 57:22Speaker 1: to twenty snaps per game I was playing. And it
- 57:24Speaker 1: would only be the true plays that they would trust
- 57:26Speaker 1: in me. They say, Hey, here's the twenty plays that
- 57:29Speaker 1: you know, we trusting you with these twenty plays, we'll
- 57:31Speaker 1: call you in personnel when we're going to call these
- 57:33Speaker 1: plays I do like twenty plays a game, and then
- 57:36Speaker 1: all of a sudden, I'm bawling, though I'm still showing
- 57:39Speaker 1: that potential, you know, and they're like you, we're not
- 57:41Speaker 1: putting you out on that fucking field until like we
- 57:43Speaker 1: can truly trust in you. Same with Tom, you know,
- 57:47Speaker 1: coaching staff, Billy oh Bill. And then finally, like I
- 57:50Speaker 1: was struggling because the playbook was totally different from college.
- 57:53Speaker 1: At college, I lined up on the right every single play.
- 57:55Speaker 1: I had like five routes, you know, we had like
- 57:57Speaker 1: five blocking plays, run place, and kaboom. Like I learned
- 58:00Speaker 1: the playbook and one day, I mean, you get to
- 58:02Speaker 1: New England, you got a playbook like that. You got
- 58:04Speaker 1: fifty five different formations. I gotta line up on the left,
- 58:08Speaker 1: I gotta line up and slot. There's fifty different calls
- 58:10Speaker 1: in the run game. I'm like, fifty different calls in
- 58:12Speaker 1: the run game. Arizona, we had five different run calls.
- 58:15Speaker 3: You know.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so I couldn't get up the pace. And then finally,
- 58:19Speaker 1: like week eight, week nine, all of a sudden, just
- 58:22Speaker 1: everything clicked. You know that feeling when you're like, okay,
- 58:24Speaker 1: I got this. I know everything in the playbook, not everything,
- 58:27Speaker 1: but like I got I know enough now, And then
- 58:29Speaker 1: I was showing them on the practice field like hey,
- 58:32Speaker 1: I'm consistent. Now I'm bawling, like I'm doing the right things.
- 58:36Speaker 1: And then a play, you know I talked about plenty
- 58:40Speaker 1: of times. There was a play versus Chicago Bears, versus
- 58:43Speaker 1: Arlacker that I had to body him up and I
- 58:47Speaker 1: did it in practice on Friday, and they're like, we're
- 58:49Speaker 1: gonna call this play and you got you better be
- 58:51Speaker 1: ready for it. And then it was versus Arlac. I
- 58:54Speaker 1: had to, you know, get big on him in the
- 58:55Speaker 1: end zone, one yard into the into the end zone,
- 58:58Speaker 1: turn on him, use my body and boom, there's a ball.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Did it in practice, replicated in the game versus Arlacker,
- 59:05Speaker 1: box box him out. Uh, Tom put the ball right
- 59:09Speaker 1: there and I caught it. And ever since then, the
- 59:11Speaker 1: trust just went through the roof and I played every
- 59:14Speaker 1: single play after that. So the playbook, you know, to
- 59:18Speaker 1: you rookies out there, get in the playbook. That's the
- 59:20Speaker 1: first thing. It doesn't matter how good you are if
- 59:22Speaker 1: you don't know the plays. If you're thinking on the field,
- 59:25Speaker 1: you're not going to play. You're not going to be
- 59:27Speaker 1: the best player that you can possibly be. So get
- 59:29Speaker 1: in the playbook and know those plays right from the beginning.
- 59:33Speaker 3: What was Tom Brady like through these growing pains a
- 59:35Speaker 3: rookie year?
- 59:36Speaker 1: He was an asshole my rookie year. He really was.
- 59:38Speaker 1: He was like mister Bill Belichick's son at that time.
- 59:43Speaker 1: He was mister Patriot at that time. But and he
- 59:47Speaker 1: was on my ass though. But you know, I see why, though,
- 59:51Speaker 1: you know, I really see why. He saw the potential
- 59:53Speaker 1: in me too. I remember one time I ran a
- 59:55Speaker 1: flag route and he always wanted me to go outside
- 59:58Speaker 1: of the defender, and like I didn't have the fluidity
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: to get outside of him when he was like two
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: yards outside of me and try to get open. So
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I always try to go right inside of him, make
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: a little move and try to get open the flag
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: route even though he's playing outside. And he's like, I'm
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: never gonna throw you the fucking ball. Actually, I'm never
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: throwing you the ball ever again. He said that in
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: the meeting room after I went I went inside on
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: the flag round, but he told me five times already
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: to get outside at least show them I'm trying to
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: get outside. But I'm like it was too hard for
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: me at that time, like I couldn't comprehend it, you know,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: the way that my body was moving. I just couldn't
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: do it. And then after he said that, then that
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: kind of clicked in me too, like, oh, fuck, I
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: gotta really try to show him that I'm getting outside
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: and just just have a quarterback. To be that hard
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: on you at the beginning though as a young buck,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: you know, it can definitely deteriorate you a little bit.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: But he saw all that potential because then right after
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: he would say something like that, big yo, stay after
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: me with practice. Let's fucking let's let's run this route
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: twenty times. Let's get you on the same page. You
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: have to finally click. I'm gonna keep going until you click.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: So he was really really hard on me, but I
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: see why, and I respected to the highest tea And
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I'm so glad that he was that hired on me
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: as well, because we would have never gotten too the
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: page and the chemistry that we were at if he
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: wasn't that hired on me. And that's what makes him probably,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: you know, well, the greatest player of all time because
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: it wasn't his skill set, you know, it wasn't his
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: ability to do you know, what he does on the
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: football field, it was. It was also the ability to
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: bring the best out of his teammates around him.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Yeah, with Tom, it seems like his two main guys
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: throughout his career were like you and Edelman or just
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: like kind of like his core guys all the time.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: At what point did you feel like, all right, I'm
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: really in Tom's pack because a guy like that of
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: that superstardom Dayton models, marrying the models like he seems
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: like he's like one of the first guys in the
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: NFL to'll be like above the NFL and for you
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: to be like in that group with him, was there
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: like a moment where you're like, Okay, I'm I know,
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: I'm Tom's guy now, uh.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Kind of that moment, you know, my rookie year, you know,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: I felt like I got in the pack like after
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: that play versus ear Lacker, but I wasn't truly in
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: it yet. You know, we had Wes Welker as well.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I mean Randy Moss you know, just got traded in
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: my rookie year, so he was in that pack as well.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Dan Branch got traded back, like he was in that
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: pack even though he left for a little bit with
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: the Seahawks. We had a couple other players as well
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that I could see that he truly trusted and that
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: he truly looked to. And I would say I truly enter.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: That was my second year when I bloss him, and
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: that was my absolute goal as well. We talked about, yeah,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: having that lockout, but in me going hand for six
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: months straight, but also in back of my mind, football
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: was always there and I always wanted to be the greatest.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: And I remember calling my agent, Drew road'shouse. I said,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna be the greatest fucking tight end this season.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Watch and He's like, okay, I mean, he's like, you
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: got Antonio Gage, you got Jason Way. And I'm like, now,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: I'm telling I'm gonna be the greatest tight end this year.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: And like I had that as a mindset and I'm
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: gonna be on the same page as Brady. I get
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: what he wants now. And then going into that training camp,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: everything was just clicking and I entered that pack of
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: that trust because I get that trust from Brady and
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: the coaching staff. You have to be a consistent fucking player.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I don't care you can show a burst of going
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: deep and making an amazing play. But if you can
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: do that one out of every ten, I mean, you're
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: not in that pack. You're not going to have that trust.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: So I showed that trust going into my second year,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: and then that's when it just all truly started clicking.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: And it lasted for ten more years straight. How did that?
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Was?
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: It?
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: Always respect from Tom when he's hard on you in
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: those moments like your rookie year, are you thinking.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Like, Yo, this dude's a fucking asshole.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: I thought he was so well, you're kind of resistant to like, hey,
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: let's stay after practice and do twenty reps and you're
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: just like, fuck man, all right.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I thought he was an asshole for sure. First, you know,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: I'm telling you it was mister Patriot my rookie year,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: like he was Bill two point zero. I swear, like,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I'm like, man, this guy zero fun zero fun like
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: zero like. But but I kind of understood it at
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: the same time, not to the full extent, you know.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: But once you're in the like, once you're growing, you're progressing,
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: you're getting better, you're making all right, this is this
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: is where I need to kind of bumy yes.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: And then once I bought in too. He loosened up
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: as well, like he just wanted me to buy in
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: and get rid of all that bullshit that was going
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: on on the outside, or me not paying attention to
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: the meetings, or me not doing what I need to
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: do out in the football field, because he saw it
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: in me like he sees he sees potential in players.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: He knows players inside and out, like he can watch
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: film tom He can break down a player's strength, he
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: can break down their weakness. He can break down how
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: to get open versus what you got to do. He
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: can even break down a defensive lineman like and know
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: their strengths and how to block a defensive lineman. He
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: knows the game of football like that, and that's what
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: makes it made him so great obviously. So he knew
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: what I needed to do out in the football field.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: And when I started finally doing it, when it started
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: clicking to me and I was starting to truly understand,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: that's when that relationship really blossomed, and he, you know,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: he was less hard on me. I mean still to
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: this day, he's hard on his players. I mean even
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: once you get that relationship going, because he wants that
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: relationship to keep building, you know. But it wasn't like
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: my rookie year. Uh you know, rookie year was tough
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: at some points. But I saw why and I'm I'm
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: so blessed and I'm so thankful that he was like that.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I needed it. Put it that way, I needed it.
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: How hard was were they on Julian Edelman. I just
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: listened to Bill Belichick on the Pivot, and it seems
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: like they were extremely harder. Coach Belichick was extremely hard
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: on Julian when he got to New England.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Well, he was a year before me, so I didn't
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: really see his rookie year like that. It's a good
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: boy though. He knows we're working. You feel safe, Yeah,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: he feels safe. He's just relaxing. That's a good boy
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: right there. So but later on, if we keep going,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: he'll eventually let us know like, hey, hey, motherfucker humans, Hey,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: motherfucker humans, it's my turn. Throw me the ball. But
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: a boy, but Julian was absolute dog and they loved
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: getting under his skin. If you got under Julian skin,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: it brought the best out of them. And I would
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: say same with myself, you know, And that's why they
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: were hired on players there, Coach Balichik knew how to
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: get them play into players' minds, even if it was
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: in the most asshole way. You know. That's why we
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: respected so much and we appreciate it, you know, to
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: this day, because he was really trying to make you
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the best fucking player that you could possibly be, and
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: he was trying to bring the best out of you,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: and he sure did it, even though whatever way he
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: was doing it, you know, it could have been vicious.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: You know, it could have been like, yo, I'm about
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: to trade you, like he could have just been making
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: it up and then you would go absolutely balls, you know,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: out in the practice field and the game. So he
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: knew how to bring the best out of players, especially
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: the ones that he knew wanted it, and Julian was
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: a guy that wanted it, and he brought the best
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: out of Julian. And whatever techniques he was doing to
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: get under Julian's skin.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Dide you.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: I mean, obviously receiving one that's where you get paid.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: It's probably the most fun for you. But from a
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: blocking standpoint, you see so many clips of you, like
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: throwing a chip buck on a trail sucks. And then
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: sending them into the bleachers, that the safety from the
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Colts on the goal line sitting him all the way
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: to the sidelines. Tell me no white T shirts in
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: the club. Where did the mindset come with the blocking?
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: Was it always really important to you or did you
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: learn early like this is how you become like a
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: complete tight end.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: No, it was always important to me. Ever since my
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: high school days playing football. I always just took pride
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: in the blocking game. I really did. I remember in
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: high school it was before like all the blind side
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: blocks you know, got banned. Oh, which was a good thing,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: you know what I'm talking to those crack yes, crack
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: black blocks. You took more pride in high school when
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: you absolutely leveled someone than say scoring a touchdown. I'm
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: talking the touchdown was cool, you celebrate, but the whole
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: sideline would go absolutely bonkers if you took someone up
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: and just planting them on the ground, or your blindside
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: someone and just flat blacked them and basically put him
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: in the hospital. So that mindset was always there to
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: just be the biggest dog, to be the you know,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: to be the strongest dog out in the field, and
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: to be tossing people around tossing people around felt like
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the manly thing to be in the game of football. Yeah,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: catching touchdowns was cool, that came with it, but that
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: wasn't what you wanted to showcase. It was how far
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: can you take someone and just embarrass them and just
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: show them who the fuck is boss? So that started,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: you know, in high school. Maybe it would say as
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: a kid, though, that toughness because I was getting to
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: beat the shit out of from my three older brothers
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: and their friends at all times, and they would pick
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: on me and I would just come right back at them.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: So that mindset started then, and then in high school
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: my senior year. I only had eight catches my senior
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: year in high school as a tight end, and we
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: ran the ball fifty two out of fifty two plays
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: one time, and it didn't matter because we were dominating.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: We won the game like thirty nothing. I would just
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: take guys, drive them back five yards, plany them. At
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: one time in high school, picked up a guy, brought
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: them off the sidelines ten yards and threw them over
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: the fence. It was kind of like the play the
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Sergio Brown play, but instead I took the guy up
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: in the air ten yards and threw him over and no, yeah,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: just like that one. But then I took the guy
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: and threw him over the fence in high school and
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: we just took so much pride in that, Like it
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: wasn't about catches, it wasn't about touchdowns. So that translated
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: into college and everyone respected it. Everyone respected me a
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: lot more because I wasn't the guy just looking for touchdowns.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I was the guy when it came to whatever seven
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: on seven what's it called when you nine and seven
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: run period that I'd be showing up and it was
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: all about how how bad ass can you be in
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: the run game and how you know? How hard can
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: you block the d N and make a hole for
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: your running back?
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: Dude, there is something about having a tight end that
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: knows how to do like a trade block or a
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: triple block and knows where the right fit is where
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: to put his hands. It makes your life so much easier.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: It's the best feeling, dude. Yeah, And to this day,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: you know, when people show my highlights, I don't give
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: a fuck, Like the catching highlight and touchdowns, I'm like cool, whatever,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I won't even look. I'll be like that's cool. But
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: when I see a blocking play of mine. I fucking
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: rewind that thing I've read there. I remember Stephen Ridley,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: he was running back my good friend. He'd beat Kevin
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Hart in a race like two years ago, and Kevin
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Hart blew out his hamstring. So the NFL, do you
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: guys remember that a little bit? No, he blew out
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: his abdominal and then the NFL was you know, showed, oh,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: ex player Stephen Ridley, you know, blows away Kevin Hart
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: in a race. Kevin Hart blows abdominal. So then what
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: did they do? The NFL took all of Stephen Ridley's
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: highlights and they put him up on the NFL dot
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: com or whatever their Instagram page. And guess what there,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I was blocking and I sent it to Really, I said,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: look at that motherfucker block for you. I'm like, I
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: love the blocking highlights. And I'm I'm like surprised with
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: myself because I don't really remember, Like it was just
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: a natural thing I would do, you know, and I
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: didn't really notice how important it really was. It was
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: just part of my personality, Like that's what I did.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I blocked. But when I go back and I watched
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: me block, like when I was in my heyday, Like
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: the first four years, man, I was fucking tossing motherfuckers, dude,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: And I didn't really realize it that I was really
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: doing it like that, Like I was doing it like that.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: So I'll always rewind a block and I'll always make
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: sure that people see all the blocks when they're up
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: on the TV screen. Which is whatever.
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: With the with the game, were you a guy that
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: like talks shit during a game or you kind of
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: just keeped yourself and if somebody talks it to you
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: turn up on them a little bit.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: There we go. And I love when people talk shit
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: to me, Like brought me to a whole other level.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: And that's what happened with the ser That's what I
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: was gonna ask Ale entire game, just yapping at me
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: and we're friends, like we're friends like in New England.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, like I'm getting open on you guys too,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: and we're dominating you. But just kept going and going
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: and going, and finally he just triggered me and I
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: just was like, I'm on the next blocking play a
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: get I'm gonna just fucking keep going and going and going.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: How long was that I'm gonna I'm gonna get him.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: When I get the just chirping. He was chirping the
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: whole time. Yeah, there was dable you saw now he
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: loved it too. There he is right there.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: They've all was O, yeah, good shah. How many plays
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: so this guy's chirping at you, getting after you, saying whatever?
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: How many How long after was that block for you?
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: Where You're like, okay, I'm gonna take this kid to
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: the absolute sound?
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Oh, I was going. I didn't care if I I
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: knew the play was over too. Like I saw the
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: running back score a touchdown? Ship what's his name again?
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: He had three touchdowns that came in like two hundred
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: and fifty yards.
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: You just had like fifty running backs?
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, no, yeah, And then we caught him like two
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: weeks later because jonas yea, I love so many running backs.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: I just couldn't think of who it was running back.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: I saw him score right behind me too, and I
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: was like, fuck this, I'm still going. I was just
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: over him. He was just talking the whole time, and
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: I just like I'm gonna. I'm just gonna go until
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: he collapses and then boom finally.
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: Right there is why I never wanted to talk ship. Yeah,
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: just like if you're going to get a good player,
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: you're just I'm always like complimenting.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: I'm complimenting.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I hated that this guy's too nice, Like I
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: don't want to it's.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it's when you have a lax just like you're
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: playing a hell of a game out here, just to
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: like you never want that trigger to go off on
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: somebody because you just never fucking know.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: You ain't trying to be on a highlight.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: No, I feel you. I mean you're you're how do
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: you feel about this?
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Oh? Man, that's that's fifty one correct. Yeah, you got
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: me solo tackle. But that's a nice uh flat route though,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Look at the speed I had back then. I wish
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: I had that speed still though. Man, look at me
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: come out of the back Was that coming out of
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: the backfield or was that just a flat route position
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: or that? Yeah, I'm flying right there. See I out
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: angled you. That's how fast I was back then.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: That should have.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: Been if you were playing true technique football as a linebacker.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: That should have been a two yard cat. Just I
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: just beat the zone. Beat the zone.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: I think we were a man there. Yeah, So it
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: makes it even worse.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: You're made up for it. You made up right there,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: look at only about four yards, but Will couldn't close
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: the gap. Ask holy ship, I'm on the same page still,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: and that was That was June twenty third, twenty twenty three,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: all right, so that wasn't that long ago. But still
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: that was a nice tackle.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: He goes down there. A lot of other men have
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: failed trying to do.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: There's a photo where it's captured from from Rob's angle
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: to where it looks like he just I mean, he
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: does stiff arm me, but it looks like they have
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: a great angle to where that should you get like
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: posterized for getting stiff armed?
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: I know, I know Gronk's a guest on our show,
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: but if you're in man coverage, are you fearful of
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: this man because he's not like it wasn't the shiftiest
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: guy in the world and you had some speedback then,
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: this is.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: You know, yeah, you know he uses a stiff arm. Well,
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: so yeah, absolutely, there it is.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Look at that pick. Oh man, I still got me.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: I see that picking still got you got to break
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: it down.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: You got to break that down, and I got.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: To I was on the sideline, so I knew that
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: you had sieline help, so I didn't really try. I
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: wanted you.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: I wanted you to catch the ball because I wanted
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: to pad my stats.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Yea was there for both of us. First down, but
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: you gotta tackle tackle.
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: Bright pull on the film, but comp you got to
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: fix the angle here a little bit. But hey, way
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: to get him down when he got him.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: A lot of guys fail on that stuff.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: A lot of guys fail.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: I want to ask.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: I gotta ask, you were the same same position, group,
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: same age. What was it like around I was.
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: Just going to get into that's like in your mind?
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: Are you like all the stuff that comes out about
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: him now, like going back to those moments around him,
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: are you kind of think in your head like I'm
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: not in this world too much.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: But there's like some there's like some ship that this
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: guy's into off the field that I don't necessarily even
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: want to know.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: Because there was we we heard stories about like him
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: being in the team meeting room, like beating off and
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: like doing crazy ship. I mean and and honestly, if
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: you don't want to talk about that's a possibility that one.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: I may or may have not seen it live.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: No ship.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not going to complete.
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: I'm not at the time just thinking yourself, Man, this
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: guy really.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: But uh, I mean I love crazy shit though, so
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: like I didn't mind things like that. I was like wow,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: like that was pretty epic.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: Like I was a wild.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Man myself, so like I was like, nothing fazed me.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: I was like I encouraged it, but like never I mean,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: I mean, first off, unbelievable football player. Man, you're talking
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: about the playbook me struggling with the playbook. That guy
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: knew the plays inside and out, the run game, man
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: pass game, and like the first two weeks being in
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: New England, while I struggled with it all the way
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: until like week eight, you know. And he was balling
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: right from the beginning. He was a basketball player out
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: on the football field. That's what he was. With his size,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: he could run, he was he's at one point he
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: was lining up at running back and having thirty plus
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: yard runs while I was black. I mean, yes, you're
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: the best combination at the tight end position of all time,
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: and that second year proves it. I mean we had
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: like what twenty three hundred yards combined and like twenty
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: eight touchdowns between just him and I including playoffs and
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: regular season. That's unheard of. Like, there ain't no other
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: tight end combo ever going to have fifteen hundred yards
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: combined like ever again possibly or maybe like sixteen hundred yards.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: So we went like twenty eight hundred and like twenty
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: eight touchdowns, which is just absurd. But uh, there's a
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: lot of craziness definitely. But I didn't mind it, Like
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I said, I loved it. Uh, And then I didn't see,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: you know, it going to the level that it went to.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: I didn't see that happening Like that was a surprise.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: It was a surprise to everyone because you would never
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: expect anyone, you know, especially be in that position to
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: have it go to the level that it went to.
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: And you're learning about this stuff with when all the
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: whether it's document show is coming out about it. You're
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: learning that then and you're like, fuck, I didn't really
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: know it was that bad.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: I didn't know it was that bad. I mean I
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: knew that, you know, there was definitely some wild size
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: to him. But uh, with everything coming out, there's there's
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: some that I would say is true, and the documentaries
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: that come out, there's some that's probably exaggerated a little bit,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: But there's some that's not exaggerated at all either. I'm
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: not going to talk about like what topics it was
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: and everything, but uh, I mean it was wild, man.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I I was the guy that was truly there throughout
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: his whole career, right in the same room the whole
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: entire time. It is. But uh, it's unfortunate though what happened,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: because the talent was just just through the roof. Man
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: through the roof, and if we could have kept our
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: tandem going, yeah, we would been just truly unstoppable. But
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: uh yeah, that's really all I got on that. Yeah,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: saw it, saw some of it, but you didn't know
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: it was like to that extreme and not surprise either
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: now either, like it's like okay, that makes sense now.
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, when you guys are at practice, he got
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: charged when you guys were at practice, or like like
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: you guys practice that day.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Correct, it was an off season, it was it was
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: actually it was Yeah, it was during the summer when
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: no one was actually at the facility.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: And when like when when you found out, were you
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: like at first, like there's no way this is possible,
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: or were you like that That's a tough question to ask.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: What was your thought process? When you heard he was charged.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Well, he didn't get charged until like after the fact
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: that it all came out correct. So like when I
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: first kind of like what was the thought process when
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: I first heard about you know, the situation, the real
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: situation where I was like, all right, this is trouble. Uh,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: you know, surprised, shot big time? Uh, sad a little
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: bit like no, like no way, Like also disappointed, you know,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: like like why would you do that? Like like why,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: like what's going on? We got the whole world in
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: front of us, We got the world by the balls,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: especially you know, you and I as the tandem, like
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: we got the best team out there everything, So it
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: was it was shocking, you know, it was sad as well,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: you know once once you really realize what truly happened.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. How was Bill Belichick?
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: Aside from what you get to see, whether he's uh
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: in press conferences, the coaching side, the Art of Winning book, Like,
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: what's he like kind of off the field or away?
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: Because I think there's a story where he showed up
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: hammered to Randy Moss's one of his costume parties or
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: like a Halloween Like what's a what's another what's a
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: fun side of Bill Belichick.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: All Right, here's something that a lot of people really
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: don't know is that he never really cracks jokes, you know,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: and he's always got that serious face in team meetings.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: But every once in a while, like once every two weeks,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: he would just come in with an absolute fucking banger,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: bro I'm talking banger, and he would actually have a
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: mile on his face right after he would just drop
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: some knowledge or some you know, over the top joke
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: that just landed every time with the team, and everyone
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: would just be on the ground, that's fucking dying laughing.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: It was so it was always vicious too, the joker
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: or whatever, the knowledge was always vicious. But when he
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: came in with that, it always lightened the mood. It
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: was every it was once in a blue moon. But
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: when he did do that, man, it was good ship.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: We all appreciated it.
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: You ever get to you have a party with Bill.
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: He ever partaking the Gronkowski dances.
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: Actually, he showed up to the first grunk Beach ever
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: when I first retired. Uh it was in Miami. It
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: was at that Super Bowl like uh five six years ago,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: and he showed up to that grunk beach, which was
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: really cool. But other than that, he was there for
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: like five minutes. He's like, yeah, this isn't really.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: For me, ye.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Showing face. Really, let's go. Yeah he's great, but I
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: think he loves he loves the party scene more than
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: ever right now. Actually at parties. I mean he's not
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: like he's rocking out. I mean, but he's there. You know,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: he's doing his thing, and you know, he's loosened up
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: big time ever since he left being a head coach
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: in the NFL, which is cool to see.
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: Were you surprised about that him loosing up after he
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: became a head coach after he left the NFL.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Definitely, definitely surprised. I thought he would keep that mantra
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: even like going on to whatever you know, he was
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: going to do next after the NFL. I'm sure he
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: probably has that mantra while coaching, you know, the tar heels,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: but like on the outside of everything else. I was
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: definitely surprised when he started joining you know, social media.
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: You know, he joined the media game, and he was
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: more loose, you know, cracking more jokes, smiling more when
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: he was making all his appearances on all the shows
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: that he was on. But it was really good to see,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Like I was happy for him, man, you know, it
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: was a different side that everyone got to see too.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: But the knowledge he drops as well is always accurate too.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Knows the game of football inside and out better than
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: anyone else out there.
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: What's it like seeing all the headlines with the Jordan stuff,
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: with knowing coach Belichick as this no nonsense coach, seeing
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: all the like theatrics that have kind of came with
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: on the outside looking in, like with him at North Carolina.
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: Guy, that's all about eliminating distractions.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: So that's a little surprising to me because he was
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: all about eliminating distractions, and like it's kind of I mean,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: we can't really say if it's a distraction yet or not,
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: because well, no, in the win lost column this year,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: if he wins every game or puts up eight wins
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: this year at UNC, well then there was no distractions
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: at all. The distractions at times him, I mean, how
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: much you know, crazy shit did he deal with in
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: New England, from you know, Tom's things to Hernandez to me,
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: you know, in some situations, to just a lot of
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: otter things that were going on. And we would just
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: go out there and win constantly at a at a
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: you know, at a rate that's never been seen before,
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: and win super Bowls even though there was things going
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: on the outside. Uh you know that didn't you know
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: that we're trying to distract us but want to get
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: to us because we would block it all out. But
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: but ill if there was something going on and it
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: was just at like just bickering you know, at the
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: team and like everyone had to deal with it, he
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: would kind of say something, you know, like he kind
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: of like amp and down a little bit, you know,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: like on one media, Yeah, like hey, this is going on,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Like can you just kind of diffuse the situation. So
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: I kind of feel like he's not diffusing the situation
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: at all when it could be diffused a little bit more,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: and it's becoming a distraction to the whole entire program
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: at the University of North Carolina a little bit. So uh,
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: it kind of goes against that. But like we said,
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: he's also loosened up tremendously and he's kind of a
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: you know, changed, you know, personality since being a coach
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: in the NFL. But just overall, I think like football
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: needs to come once football comes. You know, I'm excited
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: to see how all that goes. You know, I'm kind
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: of getting annoyed by all these other things that talked
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: about with Bill. Right now. It's like, let's see this
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: guy coach. You know. If this guy dominates, well, then
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: let it be. And if he loses out right from
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: the beginning and he's one in three, that could be
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: a serious problem.
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: Yeah, if he starts out one and three, you need
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: to fly out to North Carolina and have a one
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: on one meeting with him. We got to eliminate these distractions.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: I'll have University of North Carolina hire me as like
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: president of all sports. Yes, so I can be.
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: President. Wants to meet you. You're in there and be like,
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Tom and Edelman all flight all above them too.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: They all have to be above him. Eliminate the distractions.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: Come on, now, what are we doing out here?
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: Yeah, you want to win or not? Like we gotta focus.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: We'll see. We'll see what happens, you know, Yeah, we'll
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: see what happens.
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: One and three.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: I'm pulling from. It'll be great for football. It'll be
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: great for college football, like the Dion effect, you know,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: like how much better like no one watched Colorado. It's
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: like no one watched you and see like everyone tuned
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: in everyone, it will be tuned into U and see
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: for sure when Tom and Bill end up breaking up, Tom,
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: you you go with Tom to Tampa Bay.
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: From your vantage point, what did you see happening there
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: on the inside between their relationship, Because you were saying
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: in the beginning of your career, Tom's sitting there as
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: baby Bill Belichick. He's Bill Belichick's son essentially, and then
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: they get to the end, you hear about how they're
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: not really getting along culturally. They think that they're going
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: different directions. Tom and everybody. You guys lose to the
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: Titans in twenty nineteen, ending your dynasty and then retired.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: You're right, that's why you're a dynasty.
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: Do you think? So what do you what did you
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: do see happening between them and that breakup?
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Well, yeah, like I said, I mean I was surprised.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: I mean, if you go all the way way back
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: to my rookie year, it was definitely like a different
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: mindset or positioning that Tom was in, like he like
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: I said, he was like Bill Belichick's son my rookie year.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: But I would say, I mean, I really can't talk
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: for Tom or Bill like on how the relationship, but
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: I would just say what kind of really happened was
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: that Tom was probably growing older, you know, and was like,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: you know, wanting to freelance more. I would say, doesn't
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: have to be treated like a rookie, and it was
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: still going on. Uh, And I would say he was
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: getting over that situation even though it was kind of
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: like that, you know, my rookie year. Yeah, and he
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: he was, you know, guys, thirty five years old now
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: thirty six and doesn't need to be treated like arguably
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: the goal yeah, probably already the greatest of all time.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: It doesn't need to be treated like a rookie, you know.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: And I would say the tensions started feuding over things
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: like in that situation between them two, that's kind of
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: like how I how I saw in a way. And
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: then eventually neither of them were gonna you know, you know,
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: twitch or like ben the knee or bend the knee. Yeah,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: bend the knee. So the tension just started heating up,
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: I would say, and eventually you know that the divorce happened.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: But our details or what they were truly thinking you
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: would have to ask one of them. But from an
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: outside perspective, like player, I would say that's kind of
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: how the case, you know, kind of started and ended.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: When those topics are getting talked about in the media,
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: is that when we're like, oh, yeah, this is gonna
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: come to the surface sooner or later.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Uh yeah, And then it's also like, wow, it took
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: that long for it to come to the surface as well. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: Sometimes the media is right, it's like wow, it took
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: them that long. But then sometimes it's like, wait, they're
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: already way ahead of the game. How did they already
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: know that it was that that was already coming to
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: the serface? Or they would come up with something that
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: wasn't even up to the surface and it was never
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: going to come up to the surface. But there's some
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: things where it's like, whoa, it took them that long,
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: and you're surprised, you know now with media these days,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: when media doesn't catch on to something, it takes a
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: while to get out. You're surprised with that.
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: Yeah, what were the conversations that took place to get
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: you out of retirement into Tampa.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: Well, everything had a you know check out for me,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: it wasn't just one situation that was gonna, you know,
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: get me out of retirement. First off, I had to
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: be feeling good again. I was really beat up, you know,
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: those last two years in New England, and it was
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: getting tough on me, you know, playing on a weekly basis,
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: like the Sunday game. I couldn't recover until like Saturday,
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: the following Saturday, and then to practice and all that.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: It was just becoming miserable. I mean everyone experiences that,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: and that's why everyone retires, especially because if you weren't
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: experiencing that, and you're experiencing the joy of like playing,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: like when you're in twenty three, why the fuck would
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: you retire, you know what I mean. So when it
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: gets starts getting miserable and hard, you know, that's when
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: you want to walk away from the game. And that's
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: what I did. But I was really beat up too.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: But I was like, you know, you're kind of evolving,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: you know, throughout your whole career. I involved found different situations,
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: you know, to recover. Also different workouts you know that
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: can keep me on top of my game. Also kind
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: of needed a different scenario, you know, different program you know.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: So when Tom went to Tampa. We just talked about
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: it a little bit. My mom lived down there. I
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: love Florida. Totally different organization, felt more laid back. Definitely
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: put the work in, but still more laid back like
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: a country club.
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: They wanted me as well Tampa. It wasn't just Tom
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: wanted me. The organization called me up to and they're like, yeah,
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: we definitely want you be a part, you know, of
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: the Buccaneers family. I was feeling good as well and
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: felt like I had more left in the tank. So
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: every box checked off. And then obviously with Tom going
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: down there to have that chemistry and just to keep
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: it going on in a new program. So everything just
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: you know, you know, pled my way and I pulled
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: the trigger to do it.
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: And there it seems it sounds like they were willing
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: to like cater around your expectation, what you wanted physically
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: to like what your body needed, what you needed as
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: how old are you at this time?
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: I was thirty years old.
- 1:30:50Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like a thirty three year old tight tight
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: end was back in New England when you decided to retire,
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: you talk about the joy and it just you hated
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: showing up to work was a lot of it to
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: the expectation and the stress that would come with the
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: organization of the Patriots, like the standard that had lived
- 1:31:06Speaker 5: and they expected you to live by when you're like, hey,
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: I feel like my body would respond better doing this,
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: or I feel like I should be doing this workout,
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: because a lot of times you butt heads with those
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: third party sources that we all use outside of the facility,
- 1:31:18Speaker 5: and then you try to implement them inside and the
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: whole ego battle kind of like butts heads.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you hit it right on the money, bro. You
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: I mean, like you said, you played for a while,
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: so you understand that, and every player kind of goes
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: through that experience too. But in a way like I
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: like in New England, like coaches never gave off anyone
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: from practice, but like at the end of my career,
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: I was like, I can't be playing in a game
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: on Sunday and practice full speed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Like
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: I'm blocking guys. Think about what I'm doing. I'm running
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: thirty five routes a game as well, like a wide receiver,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: and I'm trying to block three, you know, three hundred
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: pounders sometimes d ms that are two hundred and sixty
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: pounds linebackers that are running all over the place on
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: a continuous basis, every single place. So my energy and effort,
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: and I'll put it is higher than anyone else out
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: there on the football field if you really think about it.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: Because of the routes I got to run and also
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: to be in shape blocking, and I just couldn't recover anymore.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Like Wednesday would come and I won't even want to
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: hit anyone in the nine nine to seven. I'd be like, yo,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: like I'm just gonna put my hand in front of you,
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: you know, Like I didn't even want to hit, Like
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: that's that's a bad feeling. You don't want to get
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: hit and you're playing the game of football. But like
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: if I took off like by like Thursday or Friday,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: like I was able to do it again, like have
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: that mindset like, oh I'm ready to hit, but like no,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: no one would get off in practice or anything. So
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: it was getting tough, like that mentality that aura in
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: New England, Like I wanted a day off of practice
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: and all that, but it was just tough and it
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: was tough to ask for it too because of the expectations.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: So when I got the Tampa exactly. But when I
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: got to Tampa, they were kind of knowing, like, hey,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: we're gonna we give Vets a day off, like you
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: got to be truly proven though, like and I was
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: proven at that time, and I was like, okay, I
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: at least get one day off a week, and every
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: in training camp, every three days, I get off too.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: And they were down for it. They were down.
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: I bet you could have probably negotiated more coming out
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: of retirement.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't need more though, But also with the
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: mindset coming from New England, you kind of feel like
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: you're letting the team down as well if you're taking
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: off too much, you know, especially if you're not injured
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: or you know, rehabbing an injury. But I was cool
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: with it with my mindset because I truly knew that
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: I couldn't practice every single day and then be fully
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: ready for a game on Sunday. And they gave me
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: off every Friday my two years in Tampa, which I'm
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: thankful for, which you know, I put the work in,
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: you know, Wednesday Thursday. But I truly believe that's what
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: got me to play and got me, you know, to
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: be able to play at the level I played. It
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: wasn't the highest level of football that I could possibly
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: play it like I was, but like to play at
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: the highest level at that age and where I was. Yeah,
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: taking off that Friday to at least make an impact
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: on the field.
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: Right, Well got you that incentive too, because there was
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: that clip that came out of you going up to
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: Tom being like, hey, I need one more Yes. And
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: so you guys, are you were pulled out of that game? Correct,
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: and You're like, I need to go back in.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Yeah, well we were. We were whomping them. It was
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: like the third quarter. We were up like thirty five
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: nothing or thirty five seven. So they pulled all the starters.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: But Tampa's cool, you know, they're cool like that. They
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: want you to make all the possible money that you
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: can make. Often the corner of Byron left which always
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: said in the meeting, there's two things that you take
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: away from football. On the end, he goes, it's your
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: relationships and it's the money that you make. That's the
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: two things that stick with you forever. And he says,
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: so going in, he goes, if we're up, obviously, the
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: most important thing is to win the game. But if
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: we're up and you need an extra catch. We're going
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: to get you that extra catch. We're going to get
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: you that money. So we were winning. They pulled all
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: the starters, but Tom was like, hey, we got to
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: get one more catch. We drew a play right on
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: the right on the sideline. Hey, rob motion across. You're
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: just gonna run a diagonal. I'm going to hit you
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: and boom motion across. I actually false started, but they
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: didn't get called. Where you lean forward a little bit, Yeah,
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: that's called what's that called again? What's the Yeah? But
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: you uh, where you accidentally move forward a little bit
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: on the motion, that's apparently you're not allowed to move forward.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: Then it is a fall start. But there's a name
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: for it. I can't think about it right now. But
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: I did that actually, but they didn't call it because
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: it was the game was just it was that way
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: out of reach, ran that diagonal. Boom time hit me.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: It was it was my I needed I think like
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: fifty five catches or something. That was my fifty fifth
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: catch to hit my last incentive in my contract. Yeah,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: so Tampa's cool, cool like that.
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: Yeah, did you ever have incentive based stuff in your contracts?
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: In New England. Yes, never did you ever miss one?
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: My last year in New England, I basically missed them all.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: But my second last year in New England, I base
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I hit them all. Did you really? I fout out
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: myself again going into that last year, but halfway through,
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: halfway through, I didn't even care about them anymore. I
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: was it was just like I gotta I gotta survive.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: I'm just trying to survive here.
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: Yeah, what was what was hitting the most on you
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: towards the end, like you're from your body standpoint, I
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: had to survive this.
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: It was a shoulder? Was your back at all? Again?
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: It was inflammation in my body?
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: Bro insert Adam bobo.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, inflammation, dude, Like it wasn't anything nagged while my
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: back was nagging a lot, but I was inflamed. But
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: like like I still have it to this day a
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: little bit like if I go ham one day two
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: days later, like I can't move like I'm inflamed, like
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: I'm slow. I kind of actually have it a little
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: bit today. I haven't worked down Like two weeks I
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: did a hardcore yoga like forty eight hours ago exactly,
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: and like I didn't go too hard in it. Because
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: I knew I was coming on. But when I get inflamed,
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: like I'm slower, like I can't run as fast, and
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: I was like I couldn't recover fast enough and get
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: rid of that inflammation. Even though I started finding ways
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: to do it, It's just at that rapid rate and I
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: was so far behind that just that slowness, just that
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: not that burst anymore. You don't have that quickness either anymore,
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: and it just doesn't want to make you get hit either.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: Everything hurts then too. So animation was, you know, my
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: biggest killer.
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: I would say, is there a story outside of what
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: you've already talked about in past conversations where you were
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: going to get traded to Detroit? You threatened to retire,
- 1:37:11Speaker 5: they don't trade you. Yeah, but was there a story
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: behind the scenes about how the organization was kind of
- 1:37:16Speaker 5: handling your situation that isn't known or that you haven't
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: kind of talked about. Because everybody's aware that you did
- 1:37:21Speaker 5: the whole threat to retire, they don't trade do You're
- 1:37:23Speaker 5: back in New England?
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: Well, that was a tough year. We lost to the
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles that year actually in the Super Bowl. After
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: we after the comeback versus Falcons. So we went back
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: to back Super Bowls. We were actually almost three Peter,
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: we went to three Super Bowls in a row, but
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: we just lost the middle one versus the Eagles. But
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: that year was tough, man, I'm talking just the aura
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: of the organization. I don't think anyone really enjoyed that season.
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: I'm talking like any player, Like it was just weird.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: But we were dominating. We were still winning. Uh, and
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: we went to the Super Bowl, but just overall it
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: was it was tough. And uh what what was the question.
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: Again about when they were going to they were going
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: to trade you together?
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: There we go. I say that that's why I was
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: bringing that up so that whole year. So then I
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: was being an asshole after that year, you know, like
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: they were trying to get a hold of me. I
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: wasn't answering anything. I was saying ship in the media.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: I was just being a complete asshole. And then I'm
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: with Monster Energy and Monster Energy has Monster Jam and
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: uh at the at at in New England at Gillette Stadium,
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: and I still haven't talked to anyone in the organization.
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: I was kind of vocal in the media like this
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: year sucked like kind of shit like that, like miserable here,
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: Like I was one of those guys like like that
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: was like the oral when everyone was saying it sucks
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: to play in New England, Like there was those that
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: one or two years that was when the Eagles players
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: were going to the uh the parade and like ripping
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: on the organization. Like yeah, I was one of the
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: guys like saying it sucks to play there like that year,
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: like it was just a tough year just overall. So
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: then I was being an asshole. I go to Monster
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: Jam and I have to have a press conference there,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: and uh, it's all the full like for my mounseers
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: like hey, like you got to do the appearance at
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: Monster Jam, and I was like, oh shit. I was
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: like this ain't going to go over so well. So
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: I show up to the press conference in the whole
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: uniform like I'm a freaking dirt bike rider with the
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: helmet on. I go up to the press conference and
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: they just start asking me football questions right away, and
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: I'm just giving fucking blatant, like asshole answers back. And
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: then a week later is when I get the phone
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: call and finally I answered Hey, we're gonna trade you.
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: And I never wanted to get traded. Actually, I knew
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: it was going to come down to this sell because
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: of what I was doing. It was the counter reaction,
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: you know, the organization was doing back to me, like
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: oh he wants being asshole, Well we're going to get
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: rid of him. And that's when Patricia was the head
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: coach at the Lions too, and he's like, all right,
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: well I'm gonna grab Gronk then I'm gonna trade for him.
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: And I got the call. I got traded, but I
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: was prepared. I was fucking prepared. I knew the phone
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: call was going to come. I knew I was going
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: to get traded. I was prepared. Hey, Rob, we're going
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: to trade you to the Lions. I said, you can't
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: trade a retire player. Yeah, right on the spot, I was,
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: I can't trade me. I'm retired, Like I just retired,
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: Like you can't trade. My agent's like, you're a genius. True.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: I never got in this situation before. And then finally
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: they Bill was like, well then, what the fuck is
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: the problem? I went in, we hash everything out. I
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: was like, the trade never went through. Then it got
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: acts and actually it would have been through if I said,
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: no problem. But uh, I ended up playing one more
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: year doing I was like, I was like, business isn't done.
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: Like I'm just being an asshole a little bit. Business
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: not done. Let's do one more year. I'm so glad
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: I went back. I was actually about to retire though, too.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: I was really thinking about it, but I didn't feel
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: right going to another team, not at all. I was like,
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna end with another team. I'll do another
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: year in New England. And we ended up winning the
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: Super Bowl. And that was my last game in New England.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: Winning that Super Bowl I think fifty three in Atlanta
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: versus Los Angeles. Rams I did with that catch up
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: the middle, the twenty eight yard bomb up to see
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: him to the two yard line, and the Sony Michelle
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: ran the ball right behind me in for the only
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: touchdown of the game. So it all worked out in
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: the end.
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:59Speaker 5: Man, what made that year with Philadelphia so hard was
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: the expectation coming off the prior Super Bowl.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: Uh No, I was beat up a little bit still.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: My body wasn't responding how I wanted it to. But
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: uh just aura, Yeah, it was that. No, that was
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: last year going in was was a lot better than
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: that Philadelphia season. I remember everyone just was pissed. I remember.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: I mean it's just hard to explain, like what like
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: what like why, like you just had to be a
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: part of it.
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: Yeah, off the field, let's go. I like, off the field,
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: you've done a lot of cameos. I havesh family guy
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: the clapper. It sounds like a ven Area clapper.
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: That's well had. That's why they beat us so bad
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: in the holly Ball. We were staying away from them,
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: like these guys have the clap.
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: But dude, you've done You've done all of these different
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: SpongeBob square Pants, Got to square.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: Pants still gives me residual checks for like two grand
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: like ship like every like, dude, I mean the show
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: is yeah, I love it, and I'm like, what did
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I do? SpongeBob SquarePants? I remember I sayg the like
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: birthday song in one of the episodes. I still get
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: residual checks from it.
- 1:42:11Speaker 4: Of all these cameos that you've done, what was like
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: the like the thing you were most excited for. Now
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: do the people call you and be like, hey, we
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: want grown to do this cameo? Or were you ever
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: like calling a rigent me and like, I heard this
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: movie's coming out. I heard the show. I love the
- 1:42:21Speaker 4: show How I Met your Mother. I want to be
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: a part of this.
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: Kind of both, you know, especially at first, I wanted
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: to be a part of cameos, Like I wanted to
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: live that lifestyle. Like I said, I wasn't saying no
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: going to the draft any that movie with Jamie Fox
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: was at any given Sunday or right. I love that movie.
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Like I'm like, I want to live like that. They
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: were a part of the locker room. After doing all
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: that good shit, you know, I wanted to live like
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: a movie. So I was just telling my people like, oh,
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: I'll do any appearance in whatever movie. And then my
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: very first one actually basically was the Entourage movie. Loved
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: Entourage growing up as a kid. One of the one
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: of the best shows like that when I was in
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: high school, and I told my friends in high school,
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna be on that show one fucking day watch
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: And then I ended up getting in the movie, which
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: was really really cool, and definitely I would say that
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: was one of my favorite appearances because what's funny is
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: I was writing My Private Party and so I actually
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: got to this set and I started taking shots with
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: everyone because it was like eleven thirty pm at night
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: and I was going out that night. So I started
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: getting hammered on the spot and in the scene, I'm
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: partying in the scene, so it worked out perfect. Yeah.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: I was actually hammered for that scene right now?
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: Was that?
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: Was?
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: That?
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: Was that line? I lived when you stood up and screamed.
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: No, No. They gave it to me and I took
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: it to another level.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I was super handicapped. I was actually coming
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: off the knee injury, so I was actually at you know,
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: ACL surgery three months prior to that. But then we
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: also put the armbrace on, like my arm was still
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: fricking broken. Yeah, I was had a cane as well.
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: It just just went along.
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: Well, what was it like seeing Vinnie, Chase and Johnny
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: and all those boys after watching that show for so
- 1:44:02Speaker 4: long and being able to see them.
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: It was the best. Dude. I love them to this day.
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: I see them at charity events and everything and seeing drama.
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: I love drama, his character and just drama as well
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: as a person. Dude, great, dude. It was the best
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: to be just be a part of it, you know,
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: the dream Come True? Yeah, dream come true? Dude, all
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: this stuff there, we are all this stuff. We are
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: pictures right there, right there's the set.
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: Really was that show that if you watched it you
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: wanted to be Vinnie Chase. You'd be like, how do
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: I have the ability to live this life?
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: Well, Vinnie Chase was like too pretty, and like I
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: knew I couldn't be Vinnie Chase. I was kind of like,
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: I just wanted to. I just want to have a
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: group like that, you know, a group of boys and
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: group of boys like that, because I was kind of
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: like Vinnie Chase, but I was more of like Johnny
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: Drama in a way. I was like them combined, you know, like, yeah, I.
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: Got you, dude, that show. You got to watch that show.
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: I know you never seen I've seen the movie. You've
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: never seen the show Man the movie too. There's so
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: many The show blows away the movie though, like absolutely.
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: Blow is he is he maybe the best character of
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: all time written character.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: God by Fire Drama you know competes with it, but
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: he is just phenomenal, dude.
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: I don't think anybody touches in the show. He is
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: so outstanding Taylor. He's all right. I knew I saw
- 1:45:27Speaker 4: you looking at me too. I got the French. He's
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: pissed off as I step out of the batter's box
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: in baseball, we can't. Yeah, one wasn't a huge fan,
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: isn't It wasn't a huge fan. No, no, no, no,
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: this is.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: Well, that's why I like you a lot more. Man
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: on the show for you.
- 1:45:44Speaker 5: Well, all the stuff that you've done off the field.
- 1:45:49Speaker 5: It's it's rumored that you never spent a dollar of
- 1:45:52Speaker 5: your NFL earnings.
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: Is that true?
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Technically it's not true. Uh, well, it actually started working
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: because Drew gave me a fifty thousand.
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: Technically it's not true. Technically it is true.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: Technically it is true. Yes, what did I say it's
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: not true? Well, technically I was wrong there, but technically
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: it's true. I meant it's true. Drew Roshands actually gave
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: me a fifty thousand dollars up front, like marketing budget
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: at the beginning, and you got to pay them back
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: over the time the first fifty grand you made. So
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: I actually took that fifty grand. I bought me a car,
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: you know, I paid for my spot up in New England.
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: Actually with it, and then as I was getting a
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: couple of deals, I paid them off. But just overall,
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: you know, I actually I'm very frugal, you know, and lived,
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: you know, with a roommate my first couple of years.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: I didn't know how long the NFL was gonna last.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: I was a second round pick, so it was like
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: a four year, four million dollar deal, and I was like,
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: if I played this contract out, I'll be set for life.
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: I got two million dollars in my bank, I can
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: make a hundred and two hundred thousand dollars of interest.
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: I was like, if I only played three four years,
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: I'm good. And I wanted that situation for me too,
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: that I could be good as well, Like like if hey,
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: if I don't ball, if I'm not the player, you
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: know that, I think I could be whatever, I'm still
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: set for life, because two million in the bank is
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: set for life to me, you know at that time.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: So I just always wanted to save it, and I
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: just used my money that I was getting off the
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: field to just spend it on whatever I needed to
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: spend it on. And then therefore it just kept continuing,
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: and to this day, technically I have not spent any of.
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: My into crazy.
- 1:47:26Speaker 5: How when you're young, you have the mindset like, if
- 1:47:28Speaker 5: I'll have two million dollars, I'll be set for life.
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: And I know, obviously two million dollars is a lot
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: of money, But as time goes and you get older
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: in your lifestyle that.
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: You do have, you're like, oh, fuck, two million. Two
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: million wouldn't get me very far if I continue to
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: like live the way you think you can live right
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: first on a deal for like four years four million dollars.
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's scary how there's like always a new level
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: to it. Like you think, if I can get to
- 1:47:48Speaker 4: this point, that's all I need, blah blah blah. But
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: then you get to that point and you're like, what
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: is this?
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: What's going on here?
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: There's a private aviation you can get on a plane
- 1:47:56Speaker 4: and just kind of go where you want. That's pretty crazy.
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: It always is always changing. It's always.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I told you he's gonna be quiet the whole
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: entire time. He's gonna let us know when it's his turn.
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: And now he's letting us know it's his turn. All right,
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: But buddy, buddy, we still got a little bit.
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: Longer, just a little just a little bit arder.
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: We'll give you.
- 1:48:15Speaker 4: We'll give us ten, buddy.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: Give us a little bit longer, Buddy. I told you though,
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: I call him. I know this guy way too. Uh yeah, see,
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: come do come up here, good dog.
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: Don't you think about old Ravees in New England?
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: I think that's I mean, I was waiting for this
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: subject to come up actually because you guys know Rapes.
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: You guys both played for him. But I think that's
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: the perfect fit, you know, for New England overall, just
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: for the organization, for the fan base, for the Craft family.
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: Uh you know, I just love his mancha. I love
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: what he stands for. I never really met Vrabel before
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: just for a quick second. I've heard plenty of stories
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: of him because he was that first era of being
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: a you know, a Patriot and winning all the Super Bowls.
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: But just to see the way he progressed as a
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: coach too. That's why he's such a good fit too
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: for New England because he's established. He put his time
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: in as a player, put his time in as a coach,
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: going to Ohio State, working his way up, going to
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: Houston is like what DC or whatever then getting the
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: head So he took a step every single way to
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: get to where he is. And I think he just
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: has the personality just from just seeing it and just
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: hearing from other players that I think he's the truest
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: perfect fit possibly possible for the second era, you know,
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: after Bill Belichick and what they're doing so far in
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: New England. I mean, you can't really argue with any
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: of the moves that they have made so far. I
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: think they have made every move, you know, correctly with
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: the draft, with who they took, all the way from
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: free agency, they had all that money, they went and
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: got the guys they needed to get for the positions
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: they needed to get. You never know, though, like when
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: you make a team out of free agency, you never
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: know how it's going to be. Guy like Rabel I
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: feel like he can gel him because he's a guy
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: that can gel people from. I mean, he played offense
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: before special teams defense, like those guys, Gee, they'll.
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: Tell you, He'll tell you.
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: He'll tell you. He's done it all too. I mean
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: fourteen years in the NFL and he's been the guy
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: on every part of the entire roster. I mean, if
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: you look at like the Titans in twenty twenty one,
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: I think they set a record for the most players
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: play because of all the injuries, and we were the
- 1:50:15Speaker 4: number one seed going into the playoffs. Obviously we lost
- 1:50:18Speaker 4: the first round we played, but that that shows a
- 1:50:20Speaker 4: guy that can gel his team. I really, I think
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: it just depends on Drake May. If Drake May can
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: show up in a big way and take a step
- 1:50:27Speaker 4: from her one to year two, like the Patriots could
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: be good, actually good with all the with all the
- 1:50:32Speaker 4: free agency acquisitions.
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: I'm going on record to say that they're making the
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: playoffs this year as well. I don't think you know
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: that they may they have a chance at the division,
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: but the Bells, but it's it's AFC. Dolphins are gonna dolphin.
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: You know, they're gonna look beautiful real quick out of
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: the water, and they're gonna sink back down. The Jets. Yeah,
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: I mean, we know they're just too far away still,
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: I mean, uh, and then the Bells are gonna you know,
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: Bills are good, there's established. They're gonna obviously be the dominant.
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: But I think Patriots they can they can sneak into
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: the playoffs this year. I can see that. I don't
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: think they're gonna you know, compete for a super Bowl.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: But I think in the end, in the two three years,
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: possibly yes, But this year they're going to be making
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: a big impact.
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: I mean if you go from what the fourth overall
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: pick this year to the playoffs the next year, that's
- 1:51:20Speaker 4: a huge jomb.
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: We should get a speaking of, since we're all team
- 1:51:23Speaker 5: fan duel, we should get a little futures parlay going.
- 1:51:26Speaker 5: I want to say the Commanders over unders nine and
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: a half, Titans are five and a half and Patriots
- 1:51:31Speaker 5: are seven and a half wins, get a little combine
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: them all, futures bed hit the overs, hit the overs
- 1:51:37Speaker 5: on them all.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: Why are we hitting the overs with the Titans? Why
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: can't we each do the over and then the Titans
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: we do the under.
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: You think the Titans will struggle in that win over
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: six games?
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: I don't think so. Now, how many did they get
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: last year?
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: Three?
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: I think they got three. I think they got four
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: or five in them this year?
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: No, was it five?
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: I know this is the improvement. Yeah, they got they
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: got the quarterback number one overall pick, But I'm just
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: saying overall, where what else did they get?
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: This is a good page they did. They paid a
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: left tackle eighty million dollars and they're gonna move their
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: left eckle from last year play all seventeen games. He
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: was a top ten pick over the right side. They
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: got Zeitler at right guard. Now they got Cushion Berry
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: at center. And then you have a guy going to
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: his third year that was a eleventh overall pick. It's
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: Peter Skronski at left guard. So we have a good
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: offensive line. All right, all right, you got Calvin Ridley
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: and you got two great backs and Spears and Pollard
- 1:52:26Speaker 4: and you got it really depends on like cam Ward
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: can If cam Moore can be who we've kind of
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: seen him be, then they are going to easily win
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: over five minutes.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: It's all on Ward.
- 1:52:38Speaker 4: It is just like just like just like the Patriots,
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: it's all on Drake May because you got seven and
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: a half, we got five and a half.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: With that breakdown, you know, I feel more comfortable taking
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: me over.
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: I will say, well, let me.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: Pay a meeting, team meeting. Maybe we go both options's
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: one under one's under seven and a half.
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they got we gotta go over. If I
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: say that, making the play can be over. Yeah, And
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: that's a weak division as well, you know.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: One monsters, you have a monster.
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: Yeah with the Bills. But going over is going big.
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: I'm going over big time.
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: We're all just gonna be so biased.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: And then what's the commander is ninety and a half half,
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: which is a big one, but that is big Daniels
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: in a second year, I mean, and they only upgraded
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: their team as well. They went out and got some
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: more talent. You know, you got Cliff Kingsbury is off
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: in the corner. He's established. He knows how to handle players,
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: and he knows how to break down players talent as
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: well and use it. So I like the over. We
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: got to do a parlay where it's just all over there.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: But also big, go up, Go up to September fourteenth,
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: it's the first game or September seventh. September seventh, the
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: Raiders dub but Pete Carroll, Yeah, the new running back
- 1:53:47Speaker 4: in there, Gino Smith is there. They're going to run
- 1:53:49Speaker 4: the ball, They're gonna play good football. Toss up. You
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: said the Dolphins come out of come out of the
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: water early in the season and look really pretty. That
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: one's in Miami, and that one's in Miami.
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: It's in Miami, but did you see portnoy breakdown the
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: Patriots schedule.
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought he's goat.
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: I mean they're going seventeen and oh so he did
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: do a great job. He did a good jay, he
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: did a good job. I like usually I looked, I
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: was like five and a half minutes, like the first
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: thirty seconds, the first breakdown of the first game. I
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: was like, all right, I was like, maybe I can
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: watch five and a half minutes. But he was so
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: good and entertaining the first, you know, breakdown of the
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: Las Vegas game, I was like, all right, I gotta
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: watch every single one. I watched the whole entire video
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: and I literally walked away like that was good.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: It might be seventeen, Yeah, that might be.
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: There's a reason why Dave is where Dave's act. Yeah,
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: he can talk.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: But Steelers, we're breaking down the whole schedule.
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: I'm just looking at seven games.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: They're going above seven. I mean, we got the Steelers number.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: The Patriots always take down the Steelers no matter what
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: you guys have, we just do schedule.
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: You got the Panthers, it's very favorite, Saints, Browns, Falcons.
- 1:54:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we feel good about seven and a half there,
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: Jets we feel good about it.
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: We're going over seven and a half.
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, the Titans, I know I talked a big
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: big about their offense, but they are going to have
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: holes on defense, Like they're going to have their cornerback.
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: Their secondary is going to be in a tough position.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: And that's gonna be tough on a rookie quarterback then too,
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: because if rookie quarterback needs help from the defense in
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: order to get truly established and understand everything.
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: Going on and from behind all the time exactly.
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: And when you're playing from behind as a rookie, it's
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: tough to get over that hump. Then it's tough to
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: win games. I mean, you got to be truly established
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: as a quarterback in order to understand, like, all right,
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: this is what we got to do from behind. This
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: is what we got to do with a shitty defense, right,
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: that's hired to understand your rookie year. Yeah, you know
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: in the NFL at that position. But I'm down. I'm
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: down the dude, I'm down to parlay. Actually, I got
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: my phone, right hair, I'm up with the parlay in
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: At least build it so odd.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: I won that bet. I won that bet last Night
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: Florida Panthers taking down you know, the Toronto maple Leafs
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: in game seven. Uh, do you need another moment of
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: silence for that?
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: I appreciate you, thank.
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: You for thinking about my feelings, but we don't need to.
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: We're gonna go to Tier talk while you're putting that
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: in and Tier talking. Sponsor by a Row Roast Sparks

- 1:56:29Speaker 4: That's ro dot co slash busting for fifteen dollars off
- 1:56:33Speaker 4: your first order.
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: So you're saying it will give me an erection.
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: No, we're saying it'll give you a thicker, longer, bigger erection.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: Well that it is for me.
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: Yeah, let's go.
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: All right, here we go. I got the odds for
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titans regular season wins. But they give plenty
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: of odds. You can do over three and a half
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: wins or over five and a half wins, are over
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: seven and a half wins. So you're saying the standard
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: odds are over five and a half wins?
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: What does it say?
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: Straight up? I don't know. It's minus one thirty for
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: five and a half wins.
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: Yeah, then that's the one that they'll be right, all right.
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: So that's the one we want right there? So how
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: do I parlay that? Do? I?
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: Uh, just go to another bet?
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: All right, I'll go to the New England Patriots. All
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: right there, Washington commanders, click that? So what we want
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: to over nine and a half wins? That's minus one
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: time that's the one we want. Then, all right, all right,
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: there we go that that parlay, same game parlay, And
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: now we're going with the New England Patriots. Where are
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: you guys right there? Over under seven and a half
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: minus one fifty? That's it? Just clicked it, all right?
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: Oh now it's a plus four seventy three overall four
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: so how much? So this is a future bet I'm gonna.
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: Don't do it yet. We might get it. We could,
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: we could get a little juice from FanDuel. Yeah, we
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: tell them we get we get done with the bus.
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: We hit a fanue. Hey, we want to put this
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: rock and the boys parlay.
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm gonna I'm gonna put all put a
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: little something on it now, and then I'm gonna go
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: big when they give us that little juice. So I'm
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: gonna do. I'm gonna do three hundred. There we go,
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: three hundred, right there, three hundred. I'm gonna win fourteen hundred. Okay,
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: that's about right there. I'm feeling good. We're all feeling
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: good about it.
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: I'm thinking about this tier talk right now. Our tier
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: talk today is gonna be best movie couples'. That's what
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: I'm hearing.
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: Yeah, best movie couples which is tough. I've thought about
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: it is it's very hard.
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: I love like the outside football talk. I thrive football
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: is great to talk about it. But I can't talk
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: too much football. I really can't.
- 1:58:42Speaker 4: I really came out, you're going to talk about more
- 1:58:43Speaker 4: than just football.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: I love talking more. I love off the field type. Yeah,
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: breaking conversations. My so what's this one.
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: I'll kick it off with tier talk, all right, Sorry,
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: teer talk is what I live for. Tier three, Tier two,
- 1:58:55Speaker 3: tier one. You're ranking them three all the way.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: We got honorable mention as well.
- 1:58:59Speaker 5: You can't throw it on all right, and for an
- 1:59:01Speaker 5: honorable mention, My first honorable mention is going to be
- 1:59:04Speaker 5: Noah and Ali from The Notebook. It's a movie that'll
- 1:59:08Speaker 5: stay in the test of time. Great love story. I
- 1:59:10Speaker 5: do enjoy love and sticking on the theme of love,
- 1:59:13Speaker 5: enjoy love. I do enjoy love. I love a good
- 1:59:15Speaker 5: tier dress. Love is the greatest drug out there.
- 1:59:17Speaker 3: Amen. Amen.
- 1:59:19Speaker 5: My Tier three is going to be Jerry and Holly
- 1:59:23Speaker 5: from PS I Love You. Great tier jerker movie, right there,
- 1:59:26Speaker 5: Great tier jerker movie where Jerry knows he's gonna die
- 1:59:28Speaker 5: and he writes these little ps I Love You notes.
- 1:59:31Speaker 5: All throughout her life she finds them. It is a
- 1:59:33Speaker 5: very great love story. My Tier two is going to
- 1:59:36Speaker 5: be Rocky and Adrian one of the best proposals of
- 1:59:41Speaker 5: all time, where he says, hey, you know, what are you.
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: Doing for the next forty or fifty years and she's like,
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: I don't know why, and he's like, you wouldn't mind
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: marrying me too much?
- 1:59:48Speaker 5: Anything right, And she's like, huh, He's like, you wouldn't
- 1:59:51Speaker 5: mind marrying me too much? She says, yes, Rocky Adrian,
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: great love story.
- 1:59:55Speaker 3: That is my tier two. My tier one is none
- 1:59:58Speaker 3: other than Shred in Fiona O great one.
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: Oh man.
- 2:00:08Speaker 5: You know it gets into the end. She loves Shrek.
- 2:00:10Speaker 5: She doesn't want to be with the Prince, she doesn't
- 2:00:12Speaker 5: care to be the queen. And that is all time
- 2:00:15Speaker 5: love story.
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: That is my tier one.
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: I watched that with Camille last year for the first time,
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: and I'm in love. I'm in love with Trek.
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Shrek is a great, great, great movie. Have you
- 2:00:24Speaker 3: watched all of them? Since you kind of like.
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: In some comparisons? Yeah, I can't believe you didn't say that.
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: Big Well.
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: I mean, you know, no, homo, I think you're no
- 2:00:33Speaker 3: paus really too, I think you're a good looking cat.
- 2:00:35Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, well yeah, yeah you're not. I'm in a
- 2:00:39Speaker 3: way you got some ore tenons.
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: Yeah, there we go. Yeah, Shrunk kind of looks like
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: me a little bit.
- 2:00:49Speaker 4: So now we give one word to describe how we
- 2:00:51Speaker 4: feel about Wills. Tear talk. I'll go first, hyphenated saved it.
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: What was your one?
- 2:00:56Speaker 4: Mard saved it? That's too hyphenated.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: Oh that's one. Uh spectacular yeah mm hmm, thank you.
- 2:01:09Speaker 7: Boys, shrunk, m lovely, buzzer beater, emotional, money, strong.
- 2:01:26Speaker 3: Touching, Thank you boys, thank you.
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: Wow. I was getting turned on from all those descriptions.
- 2:01:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you got that.
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: Uh, I got that spark and yourself really did feel
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: it back there. The emotions a boy's emotions.
- 2:01:42Speaker 3: Taylor, would you like to go second? Or should we go?
- 2:01:44Speaker 3: Do we want to throw the grunk?
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: All right? So just best movie couples. Yeah, all right,
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: my honorable mention, I'm gonna go with my girlfriend and
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: Channing Tatum and in the movie, oh shure was that
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: movie that she was in, Free Guy? In Free Guy?
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: It was the opening scene. Yeah, it was really it
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: was really touching's honorable mention because they weren't really dating,
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: but like they kind of where it was like going
- 2:02:12Speaker 1: on a date, like the opening scene. It was. It was,
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: But I gotta give it honorable mention. He's yeah, I
- 2:02:19Speaker 1: know he is.
- 2:02:20Speaker 3: And he's got moves. You talk about dance.
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: I know. I wonder what happened behind the scenes. Yeah, So, uh,
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: that's honorable mention. You gotta see it, free guy. It's
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: a great movie. She's not she's a hot chick in
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: the beginning in the car with Channing. Yeah yeah, there
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: they are right there, and he's bad ass. Yeah, that's
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: a good one. It was a badass scene. So I
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: gotta give her some credit there. She did very well
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: throughout that whole movie. And then, uh, I'll go with
- 2:02:46Speaker 1: number three. I'll go with uh Justin Baldini and Blake
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: Lively and it ends with us. Yeah. I still haven't
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: seen the movie, but it's talked about so much that
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: I gotta, you know, put him in in that ballgame
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: of being top three. I mean, when you talked about
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: that much, it's got to be a power couple, you
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: know throughout the movie it ends with us. So that's
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: number three. Number two, Tier two, I'll go with Shia
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: La Buff. You say it's for Shia La Buff and
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: uh Megan Fox in the Transformers one Transformers one one. Yeah,
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: that's yeah, that was excellent, dude, who doesn't love you know,
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: Transformers one and and they were like an ultra power
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: couple in that movie. And uh, number one, you know
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: it was a real life relationship. At the time too.
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: And also they made one of the best movies of
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: all the time, I'm a big action guy, mister and
- 2:03:45Speaker 1: Missus Smith with Angela Jolie and Brad Pitt. Yes, it
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: hit all aspects of that category because they were real
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: life relationship. It was a relationship in the movie. And
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: it is also an action movie and I love action movies.
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: So that's number one. And by fire for me, mm hmm.
- 2:04:02Speaker 3: My word.
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: Fireworks is that two words? Is that fireworks combined or
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: or with the little dash like fire dash words.
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: Fireworks is one word.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: It is one word. You're right, yeah, yeah, you're you're
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: using you're using, just making sure.
- 2:04:20Speaker 4: My one word amazing, boys.
- 2:04:26Speaker 7: Shrunk, shrunk again, perfect, incredible, strong, hyphenated, gronk, spike.
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: Okay, that's one word.
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: Solid, elite buddy. That was.
- 2:04:47Speaker 4: And mister Missus Smith is one that's not on my list.
- 2:04:49Speaker 4: And if I could redo it, I probably would because
- 2:04:51Speaker 4: it's so great. I'm not gonna take it.
- 2:04:53Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:04:54Speaker 4: My Tier three is going to go to test and
- 2:04:57Speaker 4: Finn from Fools Gold that's played by Kate Hudson and
- 2:04:59Speaker 4: Matth McConaughey. Now, at the beginning of the movie, they're
- 2:05:02Speaker 4: getting divorced. The whole movie, they're getting divorced. Towards the end,
- 2:05:04Speaker 4: you'll have to watch it spoiler alert, they get back together.
- 2:05:07Speaker 4: It's a beautiful one in Matthew McConaughey looks phenomenal movie.
- 2:05:10Speaker 4: Not to educate.
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: I actually just read his book green Light. I just
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: finished it. This very solid. Any chance, if you like
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: to read books, read Matthew McConaughey's book.
- 2:05:20Speaker 4: Shout out Matthew McConaughey. My tier two is going to
- 2:05:23Speaker 4: go to Vanessa and Deadpool in the first movie. The
- 2:05:27Speaker 4: passion that those two have with each other, trying to
- 2:05:31Speaker 4: outdo each other, and how bad their child childhoods are.
- 2:05:33Speaker 4: They didn't get engaged with a was it a ring pop?
- 2:05:37Speaker 4: And then all of a sudden, the big C word
- 2:05:39Speaker 4: comes and obviously we know how the whole entire movie goes.
- 2:05:41Speaker 4: My Tier one is going to go to uh, Jeremy
- 2:05:50Speaker 4: Gray and John beckwith from Wedding Crashers. You probably say, Taylor,
- 2:05:54Speaker 4: there's two guys. They weren't married. Life in business is
- 2:05:57Speaker 4: like a marriage with your best friends. Those two working
- 2:06:00Speaker 4: together tirelessly during wedding season to grab and stab all
- 2:06:04Speaker 4: these other beautiful women is something that takes a lifelong
- 2:06:08Speaker 4: friendship to achieve, which is a marriage. And that is
- 2:06:10Speaker 4: why they're my Tier one.
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: All right, I'll go first. I'll say creative because of
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: the of your Tier one.
- 2:06:20Speaker 4: Thank you, Wham, greatest Hits, Mazzele, top.
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: Ring Pop, Silver Metal, those are those are both.
- 2:06:35Speaker 4: Need gotta say hyphenated.
- 2:06:40Speaker 8: Third place, Boom boom boom, how many three booms?
- 2:06:52Speaker 4: Okay, boom boom boom, great Tier to you understand? You
- 2:06:58Speaker 4: understood the assignment.
- 2:07:00Speaker 1: Like I said, man, outside of football, I love conversation
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: like football. Can you know? Go for so long?
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:07:07Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:07:07Speaker 4: Whatever's episode to bring you True Classic. Now listen, you're
- 2:07:10Speaker 4: gonna find True Classes at Costco Nashville June thirteenth. That's
- 2:07:14Speaker 4: we're gonna find it also Sam's Club, Target or online
- 2:07:17Speaker 4: at True Classes dot Com Forward slash Busting. They've done
- 2:07:20Speaker 4: so well they're doing a kids in women's line launch
- 2:07:23Speaker 4: later this year. Now you might see me wearing the
- 2:07:25Speaker 4: all black my usual cartoon uniform right now, grabs the shoulders,
- 2:07:29Speaker 4: holds the chest in real nice. Can we get an
- 2:07:31Speaker 4: we get a wide match? I want to show them
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: a little how they how flexible. This is so I
- 2:07:35Speaker 4: got the left leg up.
- 2:07:36Speaker 3: Here, I'm gonna bring that down, bring that all the
- 2:07:40Speaker 3: way there right there.
- 2:07:41Speaker 4: The only thing hold me back is my own flexibility.
- 2:07:43Speaker 4: That's the only thing holding me back.
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: You see.
- 2:07:46Speaker 3: It's very good mobility, very good range by true classic.
- 2:07:50Speaker 4: Great job, true classic. They look good. So you can
- 2:07:55Speaker 4: play good. Let's get back to this episode.
- 2:07:57Speaker 5: Here's a football here's a question in the football world. However,
- 2:08:00Speaker 5: I think it involves you being a student of the
- 2:08:03Speaker 5: game and giving game to the fellow young ones out there.
- 2:08:06Speaker 5: During the COVID year when a lot of things were virtual,
- 2:08:09Speaker 5: you are. There's a story about you potentially wearing different
- 2:08:11Speaker 5: T shirts while you're doing a sprint workout to send
- 2:08:13Speaker 5: it in. Give some game to the young couts out there,
- 2:08:16Speaker 5: and how you gain Yeah.
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: You got it. Work smarter, not hired or borys. You know,
- 2:08:19Speaker 1: that's what it's all about. And that's what you know
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: keeps you around a lot longer, too, is you can
- 2:08:24Speaker 1: work as hard as you want, but if you're doing
- 2:08:26Speaker 1: something that's making you insane and you just keep working harder,
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: you're gonna get more insane, you know. But you gotta
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: work smarter. So you're supposed to. You know, during COVID,
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: you were doing all the workouts at home and you
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: had to send it into an app that you were
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: proved to prove that you were doing the workouts. So
- 2:08:39Speaker 1: you actually had to film yourself like benching and film yourself,
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: you know, running the routes or running the sprints, but
- 2:08:46Speaker 1: you didn't have to do the whole entire bench like
- 2:08:47Speaker 1: it was like your last set, or you would have
- 2:08:50Speaker 1: to you know, show like two of the runs that
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: you were doing. So instead of filming myself running every time,
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: I just film So that day, you have twelve runs,
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: so you got to show two of them. So instead
- 2:09:02Speaker 1: of filling myself every single time to submit the runs,
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: I brought out six different T shirts and every two runs,
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: I would switch my T shirt up and then film
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: the whole entire run that day, and then I would
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: submit those two runs with a different T shirt on
- 2:09:16Speaker 1: every single time that those moments came up that I
- 2:09:18Speaker 1: had to submit it. And so I tricked them. So
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: I tricked them. So technically maybe I didn't run that
- 2:09:25Speaker 1: day then because I was like, I'll just use the video.
- 2:09:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, the bench.
- 2:09:30Speaker 1: Tricked them.
- 2:09:32Speaker 4: When did do you did you tell on yourself or
- 2:09:34Speaker 4: did somebody ever find out?
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: I told on myself, told the story to the reporters
- 2:09:38Speaker 1: actually that year, and then on like like what the fuck?
- 2:09:44Speaker 1: I got everyone hitting me up? You're an asshole? He
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: thought it was great.
- 2:09:49Speaker 4: That is a funny, funny piece of game.
- 2:09:52Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:09:52Speaker 4: Last question, the bud light question. Everybody knows anybody they
- 2:09:57Speaker 4: would do anything for a bud light. What is one
- 2:09:59Speaker 4: th one thing that Rob Gronkowski would do anything for?
- 2:10:02Speaker 4: Can't say family?
- 2:10:04Speaker 6: Oh uh, well, my dog's technically family, right yeah, yeah, girlfriend,
- 2:10:16Speaker 6: technically family.
- 2:10:17Speaker 1: Yeah. So what would I do anything for?
- 2:10:21Speaker 2: Uh?
- 2:10:23Speaker 1: Dang, you know that's that's a really good question. I
- 2:10:27Speaker 1: would do anything to be happy at all times twenty
- 2:10:31Speaker 1: four to seven.
- 2:10:32Speaker 4: That would be something special.
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: You can't go against that, right, Oh you know I
- 2:10:36Speaker 1: don't think. Yeah, that'd be happy at all times.
- 2:10:38Speaker 4: What about what about playing your junior of college?
- 2:10:41Speaker 1: Okay, all right, physically that's mentally so now physically I
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: would go back. I would love to play my junior
- 2:10:51Speaker 1: year in college. And also I transferred my senior year
- 2:10:56Speaker 1: in high school. If I could somehow play that year
- 2:10:59Speaker 1: that I played in Pittsburgh. But also play the year
- 2:11:02Speaker 1: at my old old high school as well. Yeah, so
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: if I could like do double senior seasons in high
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: school and play the year my junior year in college
- 2:11:13Speaker 1: at Arizona, because you do you like when you leave,
- 2:11:16Speaker 1: like you miss your boy like I left my boys,
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: like in high school. You know, I went to a
- 2:11:20Speaker 1: different school. I was getting trouble and stuff. There's a
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: lot more to it. But then I went to Pittsburgh
- 2:11:23Speaker 1: my senior year. But like, you know, I'm still friends
- 2:11:26Speaker 1: with all those guys like to this day, and like
- 2:11:29Speaker 1: you're leaving them, you know, I mean it's for the
- 2:11:31Speaker 1: better in the end, Like it worked out for sure,
- 2:11:34Speaker 1: but like still like you wish you could, you know,
- 2:11:36Speaker 1: you watch all the high school movies and everything like
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: Friday Night Lights, and like you wish you could finish
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: strong with the people you started with, right, but it
- 2:11:43Speaker 1: just didn't work that way. And same with you know,
- 2:11:45Speaker 1: my third year you know, at the University of Arizona.
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: So I would do anything. You're right mentally to be
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: happy at all the times. So it's being happy's great,
- 2:11:54Speaker 1: Like and energize and energize and then physically go back
- 2:11:58Speaker 1: and play those years.
- 2:12:00Speaker 5: What's something you weren't necessarily prepared for kind of kind
- 2:12:03Speaker 5: of came as a surprise, like during retirement. Like you're
- 2:12:06Speaker 5: a guy Hall of Fame career, one of the best
- 2:12:08Speaker 5: to ever do it, and you obviously tasted retirement that
- 2:12:11Speaker 5: one year and then you came back to Tampa Bay.
- 2:12:13Speaker 5: But now you're like officially retiredment. What's something you feel
- 2:12:16Speaker 5: like you didn't necessarily see coming with retirement?
- 2:12:18Speaker 1: You know, being on a routine. You know, when you're
- 2:12:20Speaker 1: playing ball and you're an athlete your whole life, you
- 2:12:22Speaker 1: always have a routine. You gotta be at practice, you
- 2:12:25Speaker 1: gotta you know, be in the film room like it's there,
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: like it's handed to you like a you know, a
- 2:12:31Speaker 1: schedule every single day, that routine you know what to
- 2:12:34Speaker 1: do and get prepared for. And then once you retire,
- 2:12:37Speaker 1: that routine's totally thrown out the window. It's kind of
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: up to you now to schedule, you know, when you're
- 2:12:42Speaker 1: going to work out, when you're going to do this,
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: when you're going to study, all that good stuff. So
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: just getting on a routine and when you totally get
- 2:12:48Speaker 1: off of it as well, it fucks with you. You know,
- 2:12:51Speaker 1: like you're you're kind of like mentally weak. Sometimes you're
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: flying all over the place, you're not doing the right things,
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: you're not getting your workouts in h and all that stuff,
- 2:13:00Speaker 1: and you're just so used to doing all that, you know,
- 2:13:03Speaker 1: on a continuous basis, even if you don't feel like it.
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: You have to do it when you're an athlete because
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: everyone else is doing it. You don't have that push
- 2:13:10Speaker 1: around you. So that that was that's the tough spot,
- 2:13:12Speaker 1: is getting that push, you know, to get to the
- 2:13:15Speaker 1: next level. And also that routine of always you know,
- 2:13:18Speaker 1: being on the grind and getting things done.
- 2:13:21Speaker 5: Yeah, because when it's snowballs, you're just laying there and
- 2:13:22Speaker 5: you just get so mad at yourself from falling out
- 2:13:24Speaker 5: of a routine.
- 2:13:25Speaker 3: Yah, then you start talking to yourself like in ways
- 2:13:27Speaker 3: like you said, like, oh, mentally weak, Like I'm fucking
- 2:13:29Speaker 3: for Look what's happened to you?
- 2:13:31Speaker 4: Look at a photo of yourself, like that guy worked hard.
- 2:13:33Speaker 1: But you guys, you guys got it down though, Like
- 2:13:35Speaker 1: look at you guys that keep each other accountable. I
- 2:13:37Speaker 1: bet you know doing the show. You got to get
- 2:13:39Speaker 1: a routine and you know, get prepared for it, you know,
- 2:13:41Speaker 1: study up. Same thing with myself and Julian, Uh, we
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: got our podcast Dudes on Dudes. So you got to
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: prepare for that, get mentally readily kind of physically ready
- 2:13:50Speaker 1: to because you want to be physically feeling good at
- 2:13:52Speaker 1: all times. It keeps your mental game uh sharp. So
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: you just got to find, you know, the guys out
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: there that want to get on the same page with
- 2:13:59Speaker 1: you and want to do that as well.
- 2:14:01Speaker 3: What is it likeet diving into the podcast world with jewels.
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's great. And what's great about it, Julian already
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: had his podcast Games with Names, So yeah, Julian was
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: experienced the podcast. I never thought it was like really
- 2:14:12Speaker 1: for me. I always liked going on people's podcasts, but
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: I was like, I said no, for like ever, I
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: was like, I don't want to start my own podcast.
- 2:14:18Speaker 1: But then once I went on Julian's and we had
- 2:14:20Speaker 1: the chemistry, and then I saw that Julian can carry
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: the load of the podcast too, the load. We were
- 2:14:25Speaker 1: just talking about that on Sunday Conversations, like He's like, oh,
- 2:14:28Speaker 1: Julian takes the whole load of the podcast. I was like, yeah,
- 2:14:31Speaker 1: so that just brought you kind of triggered in my mind.
- 2:14:34Speaker 1: But I was like, all right, so he's going to
- 2:14:36Speaker 1: be the like, he's going to be there to help
- 2:14:38Speaker 1: me along and everything, and it's just great to have
- 2:14:40Speaker 1: a teammate. So I was like, this is perfect. And
- 2:14:42Speaker 1: his team around him was already experienced, everything set up
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: ready to go right when you walk in. So I
- 2:14:47Speaker 1: was like, I can do it now, and it was
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: just the right fit. It's kind of like going to
- 2:14:50Speaker 1: Tampa had to be the right fit.
- 2:14:52Speaker 5: Yeah, do you travel out there to do it each
- 2:14:54Speaker 5: time you guys do the pod?
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: Well, I'm in La all the time for the pregame
- 2:14:57Speaker 1: for the Fox Show. So we usually just knock out
- 2:15:00Speaker 1: an episode or two on like that Monday or Friday
- 2:15:02Speaker 1: or something. And now that it's off season, we get together,
- 2:15:06Speaker 1: Like we were just in Boston last week. We knocked
- 2:15:08Speaker 1: out two episodes. But if we're not, we just do
- 2:15:10Speaker 1: it over Zoom. Got Yeah, so half of them right
- 2:15:12Speaker 1: now in the off season are over Zoom. The other
- 2:15:14Speaker 1: half are one we can get in person whenever we can.
- 2:15:17Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 2:15:17Speaker 3: And we got to get all the boys together.
- 2:15:19Speaker 4: Yeah, we can get the four of us in one room.
- 2:15:21Speaker 4: That'd be awesome.
- 2:15:22Speaker 1: The really big rudes, it would be good. Stuff. Gosh,
- 2:15:26Speaker 1: are you guys Basically you guys are like football with
- 2:15:28Speaker 1: a little all football with a little everything else as well.
- 2:15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I say probably seventy percent football and the off
- 2:15:35Speaker 4: season two. Like I mean we have like comedians, musicians,
- 2:15:39Speaker 4: like all coaches, players, all these different things.
- 2:15:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we were. We were basically out football
- 2:15:44Speaker 1: in the first couple though, and I was like, bro,
- 2:15:46Speaker 1: I'm not all football, like like I can't. So now
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: we're switching up with like fan questions or like or
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: that like tier talk that we just did with the
- 2:15:53Speaker 1: movie couples. Like we come up with segments like that
- 2:15:55Speaker 1: now too, And I'm like this is way better. Like
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: football is great for half of it, but the other
- 2:15:59Speaker 1: half winding just freelance was going on what you're doing
- 2:16:02Speaker 1: at the moment, like what you learn, like new technique,
- 2:16:05Speaker 1: new trick in life or whatever with new hat, just whatever,
- 2:16:08Speaker 1: just go off. So not just all about football. Now
- 2:16:10Speaker 1: we're kind of blastoming more like because of it, hot
- 2:16:13Speaker 1: topics whatever He's talked about right there. So football is great,
- 2:16:16Speaker 1: I mean, but like to do it twenty four seven.
- 2:16:18Speaker 1: I like, I like abroad of you know, of everything.
- 2:16:21Speaker 4: I'm with you on that absolutely with you before we
- 2:16:24Speaker 4: let mister Gronkowsi go, Does anybody have a question back there?
- 2:16:26Speaker 4: They like to ask anybody feel free.
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: I thought that guy in the middle would ask me
- 2:16:33Speaker 1: where I get my ivs from you? You know, we
- 2:16:35Speaker 1: already brought it up where you guys get your ivs
- 2:16:36Speaker 1: from you in Nashville. So yeah, he does do a
- 2:16:41Speaker 1: good job. You know. I don't want to give him
- 2:16:42Speaker 1: the credit, but he's gonna yeah. See, and he does
- 2:16:48Speaker 1: rehydrate you well. So these unbelievable nurses there that work
- 2:16:51Speaker 1: really hard, Yes, and they actually deserve all the credit,
- 2:16:54Speaker 1: all the women nurses that he has hired Errite in Nashville.
- 2:16:58Speaker 1: They do get you hydrated and filled you up with
- 2:17:00Speaker 1: the best vitamins in the game.
- 2:17:02Speaker 4: Those ners solid stuff.
- 2:17:04Speaker 1: Yeah. The nurses you run that company.
- 2:17:06Speaker 4: Run it, run it.
- 2:17:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I really do.
- 2:17:08Speaker 3: Without the nurses all the work in the beginning, yeah
- 2:17:12Speaker 3: started were started.
- 2:17:13Speaker 4: Yeah, but what we do. Appreciate me for the show.
- 2:17:16Speaker 4: You were talking about giving us all free i VS
- 2:17:17Speaker 4: for the next two months, So I appreciate you saying that.
- 2:17:19Speaker 3: I agree, and that is awesome.
- 2:17:25Speaker 4: Thank you, sir.
- 2:17:26Speaker 1: And if you're listening and you hear this. Just walk
- 2:17:28Speaker 1: in and say, I heard you're giving out free I
- 2:17:30Speaker 1: V yeahs yes, on the ground episode free IV.
- 2:17:38Speaker 4: So that is big time. But you have to give
- 2:17:40Speaker 4: free unity.
- 2:17:41Speaker 1: You have to give it. We're not saying any D.
- 2:17:43Speaker 1: A vitamin bag, the athlete bag you have to give
- 2:17:45Speaker 1: out if someone comes in.
- 2:17:46Speaker 4: But you remember he was saying, you were saying that
- 2:17:48Speaker 4: he was giving all of us n A D for free.
- 2:17:50Speaker 1: Yeah working yeah, yeah, but they can get if you
- 2:17:53Speaker 1: hear that, you can get a vitamin bag.
- 2:17:54Speaker 4: Yeah, for free.
- 2:17:55Speaker 1: We don't want to bankrupt.
- 2:17:56Speaker 4: No, just a big bag, get in there, small back to.
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: Ye small No small bag, big bagsfferent it's fluids five cents,
- 2:18:07Speaker 1: even though you get charged one hundred dollars.
- 2:18:12Speaker 4: Gotta make a profit. Gotta make a profit.
- 2:18:14Speaker 3: Margins are healthy.
- 2:18:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like ice cream, ice cream margins, ice cream margins.
- 2:18:23Speaker 1: Did you have a question, Hey, I gotta Yeah. When
- 2:18:25Speaker 1: when do ice cream companies make their most amount of money? Yeah?

- 2:19:30Speaker 1: New Year's Eve on Fox and I spiked Steve Harvey
- 2:19:33Speaker 1: Lego set of of his head, of his face. But
- 2:19:36Speaker 1: what was scripted was that I was gonna spike it.
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: Like I knew I was spiking it. They had me
- 2:19:43Speaker 1: in the script. Hey, Grink, you're gonna spike the Steve

- 2:19:56Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey lego said, hey, you're gonna spike it.
- 2:19:59Speaker 1: So when I spiked it, that was kind of you know, understood, understood,
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: that was kind of But his reaction was not scripted
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: at all. And I'm not sure either if he knew
- 2:20:11Speaker 1: I was gonna spike it or not. I knew I
- 2:20:14Speaker 1: was going to from the beginning. I'm not sure if
- 2:20:16Speaker 1: he knew. But his reaction was priceless, man, Like it
- 2:20:19Speaker 1: felt like he was truly pissed. If he truly was, But.
- 2:20:22Speaker 3: How was how was the dynamic after? It was fine
- 2:20:25Speaker 3: around him and.
- 2:20:26Speaker 1: He didn't bring it up after, Like it was like
- 2:20:28Speaker 1: he was like, nice spike, but like he wasn't like
- 2:20:31Speaker 1: out the screen, like why the fuck did you do that? No? No,
- 2:20:34Speaker 1: like he acted like that like when it happened. I mean,
- 2:20:37Speaker 1: he kind of got me scared. I was like, oh shit, like,
- 2:20:39Speaker 1: was I really supposed to do that or not? Like
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: he's pissed. But it was good. It was TV. It
- 2:20:46Speaker 1: was one of my best movements, one of my best
- 2:20:48Speaker 1: moments on TV of all time.
- 2:20:50Speaker 4: I love it, boys, We feel good.
- 2:20:53Speaker 1: Any other questions back there, I know, but I don't

- 2:21:00Speaker 4: Dude, Steve sells it. He sells it big time.
- 2:21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, he sold that good. So yeah, it was scripted,
