- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31Today, we're talking about cause and effect.
- 0:34We all understand that things happen, that's the Cause, right?
- 0:39And then there's an effect afterwards, what we choose to
- 0:44believe or react to, and cause, and effect is so important to
- 0:48understand because, you know, as Wayne Dyer said, it's not their
- 0:53fault for pushing your buttons, it's your fault for having the
- 0:57buttons they push God, that was one of the most impactful.
- 1:00Statements I ever read in a book, many, many years ago, and
- 1:03I read it and reread it and read it and reread it.
- 1:06And I was like, wait no, you know, it's him, it's this, it's
- 1:09that and it was such a realization to me to recognize
- 1:16and it still is over and over about how quickly we can get
- 1:20hooked into having this reaction, this effect of
- 1:25allowing something to get into our head and having a reaction
- 1:29to it. That is Completely in our
- 1:31control, you know people will say no it's not in my control I
- 1:35mean he did something he knew it was wrong, it pissed me off.
- 1:38But you ultimately have all the control of how you respond.
- 1:42No one can ever take that away from you.
- 1:44I really want you to hear me say that.
- 1:46No one can ever take that away from you.
- 1:49You have the ability to control your response, you have the
- 1:54ability to decide what that cause is going to do to you and
- 1:58the effect it's going to have on you.
- 2:01And when we hang on and we keep talking about things over and
- 2:05over and over, it's a sign that we want closure.
- 2:08It's a sign that we want to understand.
- 2:10The reason why, you know, it always comes back to that.
- 2:13Well why did this happen? Why did this happen?
- 2:15And it's because we want to regain some stability.
- 2:18We're looking for the certainty we want to try to fix the
- 2:21situation. We want to say, well, wait, no,
- 2:24see you did that to me. But I did this to you because
- 2:27this happened and we always try to find a way.
- 2:30To get around the fact that we can't change the past.
- 2:34We just cannot we cannot change the past.
- 2:36No matter what we do. We cannot change the past but we
- 2:38can change this moment and moving forward.
- 2:41Nothing else. So if you choose to dwell in the
- 2:45past that's fine, people will often say, well, you learn a lot
- 2:50from the past and I say, potentially, I mean, it's pretty
- 2:54much up in the air. It depends on what you decide to
- 2:57believe about it. You know, there are people out
- 3:00there That will look at Wars like past Wars that our country
- 3:04has gone through and they will argue the fact that you know,
- 3:09these wars were from one point of view.
- 3:13And then you have other people that will look at it and say
- 3:16well no this was absolutely from this point of view and then you
- 3:19have other people who will look and say we didn't need to be
- 3:22there at all. And you're never going to get a
- 3:25clear answer because it's all from the perspective you start
- 3:29from and you just have to accept the fact that even with major
- 3:33things like going to war with other countries doing certain
- 3:37things. It's all from the perspective,
- 3:38view start from infinitely. If I get aggravated with the
- 3:45fact that the dishwasher is not loaded the way, I like to see it
- 3:48loaded, is it their fault for loading the dishwasher wrong.
- 3:52After I've said it 100 times, 1000 times could be possibly,
- 3:58but the reality is other people live in my House.
- 4:01Other people think they're doing the right things according to
- 4:04themselves and their rules. Other people are entitled to
- 4:09have their opinions. My way is not only the right
- 4:12way, there may be other right ways to do things, and I have to
- 4:16accept that that is a button that can be pushed for me.
- 4:19And I'm using such a simple example, because I want you to
- 4:22understand that the cause is so something, so insignificant, but
- 4:26the effect can just get me. Like, why why?
- 4:30Why, why why? And I let it throw me and it
- 4:34continues to show up in my world to remind me.
- 4:39And now I laugh about it and say, okay, am I going to let
- 4:41that button get pushed? Why do I still possess that
- 4:44button? Why is that button even here?
- 4:47So it's incredibly important for you to recognize that the
- 4:51buttons are your buttons. The reaction is absolutely your
- 4:59challenge, your responsibility, your impact on yourself because
- 5:03the effect that it has on you is not just momentary.
- 5:06It's all day, it's long lasting. So you have to make decisions
- 5:10about how you want that to show up.
- 5:12And if you're willing to take that on and if you're willing to
- 5:15be aggravated, long-term, there are times when I'll say to
- 5:18myself. Oh yeah.
- 5:19This really pisses me off and I'm going to have to allow
- 5:21myself this Frame of time to say.
- 5:23Okay yeah, I got to think about this or I got to obsess on this
- 5:26or dwell on this. Being completely real with you,
- 5:29I do that, I give myself time. But I also set a timer and I'll
- 5:33say, okay, I'm not going to be annoyed with us for more than,
- 5:36you know, 24 hours, 48 hours. Sometimes it goes up to 72 if
- 5:40it's a Dilly. But for the most part it's a
- 5:44it's a set the time. Let It Go set the time.
- 5:48Let it go because it's not going to help you.
- 5:50And it's not going to serve you and it's going to take you out.
- 5:52So, pay attention to cause and effect.
- 5:54My friends pay attention to cause an effect because It's
- 5:57necessary to pay attention to cause an effect.
- 6:01I hope you all have a very blessed day and I will see you
- 6:03tomorrow. Bye.
