Discounts are a strange thing in the dance industry - we struggle to be taken seriously and be paid our value, yet we tend to copy discount structures from other businesses and not take into account what works best for us. Sometimes, we discount to attract customers only to find that bargain hunters are not our ideal clients. And, perhaps the worst scenario is when we don't value ourselves, we fill our mind with fear and negative talk and either lower prices or refuse to raise them even when we are living a life we can't afford with business revenue and expenses that are not sustainable.
