- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now you'll find out what it all means. He smart
- 0:06Speaker 2: simone on seven tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hey it's Friday, that's a good news. It's October. It's
- 0:14Speaker 3: okay news. Yankees win, they'll begin tomorrow the playoffs. That's
- 0:18Speaker 3: great news. We'll get to the shutdown. We'll get to
- 0:21Speaker 3: the Yankees. We'll get to Andrew Cuomo, even Democrats making
- 0:25Speaker 3: fun of his latest ad. We'll get to Mom Donnie
- 0:28Speaker 3: and his words. They're calling him word salad, they're more
- 0:31Speaker 3: like word jumbles. And we'll get to cracker barrel. And
- 0:34Speaker 3: we'll get to President Trump, some interesting developments, what he
- 0:39Speaker 3: may be up to next. Let's see, I mean yeah, okay,
- 0:45Speaker 3: Sean Diddy Combs is about to be sentenced. No, nothing yet.
- 0:51Speaker 3: The sentence hearing is taking place now. He's going to
- 0:55Speaker 3: get sentenced at some point this morning. Prosecutors want eleven years.
- 1:01Speaker 3: He wants time served, which is fourteen months. If you
- 1:05Speaker 3: ask those criminal lawyers that do these cases all the time,
- 1:08Speaker 3: they're betting four years five years will be the sentence.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Diddy wrote a long letter to the judge, begging for mercy, apologizing,
- 1:17Speaker 3: saying he's sorry a thousand different ways. So we'll bring
- 1:20Speaker 3: you that news. Apparently nothing is happening yet. It'll be
- 1:24Speaker 3: a while before they get a sentence. Now, apparently it
- 1:30Speaker 3: was worse than a Taylor Swift line of the concert line.
- 1:33Speaker 3: There were people camping out for two days to get
- 1:36Speaker 3: into this courtroom for the Sean Ditty sentencing. You know,
- 1:39Speaker 3: they got those professional placeholders. You can pay them to
- 1:42Speaker 3: wait in line for you to camp out on the sidewalk.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Although it's not like the old camping out on the
- 1:47Speaker 3: sidewalk with a sleeping bag. This is. They bring tents,
- 1:50Speaker 3: they got you know, chargers for the phones, they've got TV,
- 1:54Speaker 3: they got everything there, they got smartphones, they got everything
- 1:58Speaker 3: going on. So it'll happen at some point this morning.
- 2:02Speaker 3: So here's real quickly the shutdown. Here's the problem. They's
- 2:05Speaker 3: supposed to be a vote today at eleven am. It's
- 2:08Speaker 3: expected that the vote will not succeed to end the shutdown,
- 2:13Speaker 3: and it'll go through the weekend and there'll be a
- 2:15Speaker 3: vote on Monday. They're hoping Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday
- 2:18Speaker 3: they'll get it settled. Now here's the shutdown situation. If
- 2:25Speaker 3: you're watching the crazy left wing networks, if you're watching
- 2:28Speaker 3: MSNBC or CNN, you'll see Hakeem Jeffreys and Chuck Schumer
- 2:33Speaker 3: on television, and all they keep telling you is everybody
- 2:35Speaker 3: is going to die this shut every people are going
- 2:37Speaker 3: to die. People are going to drop dead. The planes
- 2:40Speaker 3: are going to fallow this sky. This is the biggest
- 2:41Speaker 3: crisis ever. And now they're going on vacation for a
- 2:46Speaker 3: couple of days. So everybody's going to die. But it's Friday,
- 2:50Speaker 3: we gotta leave. Sorry, they're going They're all going away
- 2:52Speaker 3: for the weekend. They're taking the weekend off. In a
- 2:56Speaker 3: minor crisis, you'd probably work on Saturday, wouldn't you major crisis,
- 3:00Speaker 3: you'd work Saturday and Sunday. But everybody's gonna die, and
- 3:04Speaker 3: they're going away for the weekend. And many of these
- 3:06Speaker 3: Democrats are going down to Sea Island for some sort
- 3:08Speaker 3: of democratic conference, and they're getting criticized because it's a
- 3:14Speaker 3: very plush, lush, expensive five star resort, an oligarch type
- 3:19Speaker 3: of place. That's where the Democrats are holding this conference.
- 3:22Speaker 3: So if you're lucky, they'll come back. If they have time,
- 3:25Speaker 3: they might come back on Monday and continue the shutdown. Problem.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Part of the problem is you got two people leading
- 3:32Speaker 3: the Democrats, Schumer and Jeffreys, Hakeem Jeffries. These are the
- 3:37Speaker 3: two worst spokespeople you could have if you want, And
- 3:40Speaker 3: the most important thing in a situation like this is
- 3:42Speaker 3: your messaging. You couldn't have worse messaging. Schumer is an old,
- 3:46Speaker 3: dried up, old dinosaur fossil from one hundred years ago.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Everybody just, you know, cringes when they look at this guy.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Jeffries is a younger guy, but he's a total stiff,
- 3:58Speaker 3: and he talks in the He's so pious and ridiculous.
- 4:02Speaker 4: We'd assume, on myself, having gotten a single phone call
- 4:07Speaker 4: as it relates to a follow up conversation, we're ready
- 4:12Speaker 4: to have that conversation, but we need credible partners on
- 4:16Speaker 4: the other side of the owl.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Well, see that's a little change in tone. Yesterday was
- 4:21Speaker 3: everybody's gonna die and they won't budge, and he should
- 4:26Speaker 3: get one of those phones that can make outgoing calls.
- 4:28Speaker 3: That way, you don't just sit there and wait for
- 4:29Speaker 3: the calls, and said, the problem is nobody knows what
- 4:32Speaker 3: the hell these guys are talking about. We love Mike
- 4:34Speaker 3: Johnson doing a great chep, but they don't speak English.
- 4:37Speaker 5: He said passionately, as recently as March of this year,
- 4:40Speaker 5: on the same instrument, the same ZR.
- 4:42Speaker 3: That it would be rap. But he knows what the
- 4:44Speaker 3: hell you're talking about with your instrument, your clean CR.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Now there's a continuing resolution, and there's a clean CR.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Now when you're watching television and you hear about this
- 4:52Speaker 3: clean the CR and it's a clean the resolution, nobody
- 4:56Speaker 3: knows what you're saying. Speak English, nobody knows what the
- 4:59Speaker 3: hell you're talking about. So we'll see what happens at
- 5:02Speaker 3: eleven am. Don't expect much. It'll probably go through the weekend.
- 5:04Speaker 3: But here's the problem. You got Schumer and Jeffreys, the
- 5:08Speaker 3: two worst messengers you could have. They're just disasters on TV.
- 5:12Speaker 3: They don't communicate at all. Other problems they're both from Brooklyn,
- 5:15Speaker 3: New York, which means all they hear from a left wing,
- 5:18Speaker 3: crazy left wing. The other problem is they haven't gone home.
- 5:23Speaker 3: None of these congress people have been home. We're meeting
- 5:26Speaker 3: the constituents. All they're hearing from is union special interests
- 5:30Speaker 3: and all these special interests yelling him, ot cave don't
- 5:32Speaker 3: cave in, don't cave in. You need to hear from
- 5:35Speaker 3: the constituents, showing you that the line at the airport's
- 5:38Speaker 3: longer than ever because TSA had lay off some people,
- 5:42Speaker 3: or they're not picking up the crash or something. They're
- 5:44Speaker 3: not hearing from constituents anyway. Well, that's all there is
- 5:48Speaker 3: to know about the continuing resolution clean c are. Hey,
- 5:54Speaker 3: the Yankees big win last night. They start the playoffs
- 5:58Speaker 3: Toronto tomorrow, for that's great news. Andrew Cuomo getting a
- 6:06Speaker 3: lot of flak over this TV ad and me he
- 6:08Speaker 3: told you about this yesterday. He finally started running a
- 6:11Speaker 3: TV commercial. Nobody knows if he's really campaigning or there's
- 6:13Speaker 3: an actual campaign. He still has not opened a campaign headquarters.
- 6:18Speaker 3: He doesn't do much. He'll do in one or two interviews,
- 6:21Speaker 3: but basically it's always a fluff you know, look, you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: totally rigged interview, like ERL Lewis on New York One.
- 6:27Speaker 3: He always make sure it's somebody will never give him
- 6:29Speaker 3: a hard time or bring up anything bad. But he
- 6:32Speaker 3: finally put out a campaign ad. It looks very expensive.
- 6:37Speaker 3: It's not because it turns out it's all AI. But
- 6:39Speaker 3: the ad, as we described yesterday, shows him doing trying
- 6:45Speaker 3: to do different jobs he goes, but I'm not very
- 6:48Speaker 3: good at That shows him trying to be a trained
- 6:50Speaker 3: engineer and not he can't do it. Then it shows
- 6:52Speaker 3: him trying to be a window washer. He's up on
- 6:54Speaker 3: a scaffolding, up on a skyscraper. He can't do it.
- 6:57Speaker 3: And all these different jobs it looks if it really
- 7:00Speaker 3: looks good. It's all done by AI. And then he says,
- 7:04Speaker 3: but the only thing I can't do any of these gentlemen,
- 7:06Speaker 3: I'm not good at it. The only thing I can
- 7:08Speaker 3: do is run a government. So this was the ad.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I'm watching the left wing shows last night. They're all
- 7:14Speaker 3: attacking him, even Colbert ridiculing him, saying why would you
- 7:18Speaker 3: run an ad saying you stink at everything, you don't
- 7:20Speaker 3: know how to do anything, You're not competent to do anything.
- 7:23Speaker 3: And also a lot of the left wing people pointing
- 7:27Speaker 3: out what he's really saying is what we all kind
- 7:29Speaker 3: of knew. And the problem with him. I can't go
- 7:33Speaker 3: back into the world. I can't go back into the
- 7:35Speaker 3: private sector. Nobody will hire me. I can't do a
- 7:37Speaker 3: damn thing. The reason I'm back running again, even though
- 7:40Speaker 3: I quit in disgrace, is I don't fit in anywhere
- 7:43Speaker 3: else in the world. I think this is this the ad.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I'm Andrew Cuomo, and I could pretend to do.
- 7:48Speaker 1: A lot of jobs.
- 7:50Speaker 5: But I know what I know, and I know what
- 7:52Speaker 5: I don't know, and I do know how to make
- 7:55Speaker 5: government work. I'll hire five thousand new cops, the partner
- 7:59Speaker 5: with low community groups and keep our family safe, and
- 8:03Speaker 5: we'll get the homeless off the streets and into the
- 8:06Speaker 5: help they desperately need. There are a lot of jobs
- 8:10Speaker 5: I can't do, but I'm ready to be your mayor
- 8:14Speaker 5: on day one.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Okay, but you know I'll hire five dozen new cops.
- 8:19Speaker 3: He's the guy that just when he was governor, he
- 8:21Speaker 3: got rid of cops. He defunded cops, he cut down
- 8:23Speaker 3: on the cops. He closed the prisons and let the
- 8:25Speaker 3: prisoners out. He passed he passed that no bail, no jail,
- 8:29Speaker 3: let all the criminals loose. He took away qualified immunity
- 8:32Speaker 3: from the cops, he took away overtime, and he was
- 8:35Speaker 3: just horrible with cops. So that's the ad. You know,
- 8:39Speaker 3: they keep saying, if mom Donnie wins, people are gonna
- 8:41Speaker 3: leave New York. People are gonna move out. This is
- 8:43Speaker 3: the big thing if Donnie wins, you won't believe how
- 8:46Speaker 3: many people leave and move well. Cuomo holds the record
- 8:49Speaker 3: for causing more people to leave and move out of
- 8:51Speaker 3: New York while he was governor, especially the pandemic the
- 8:54Speaker 3: way he bungled it up. More people fled New York
- 8:57Speaker 3: under Cuomo than any other any other petition. In fact,
- 9:01Speaker 3: so many people moved out of New York millions that
- 9:06Speaker 3: we lost four congressional seats under his watch. Because so
- 9:09Speaker 3: many we lost so much population, we lost four congressional seats.
- 9:13Speaker 3: There was a period of a year and a half
- 9:15Speaker 3: where you could not get a moving van under Cuoma.
- 9:18Speaker 3: There were so many people leaving, there was a shortage
- 9:20Speaker 3: of moving vans, and there was like a year wait
- 9:23Speaker 3: to get one. Curtis has been running ads. Here's a
- 9:26Speaker 3: Curtis Leeway adds.
- 9:27Speaker 6: You can hear a woman screaming rapes in broad daylight,
- 9:30Speaker 6: attacks on the subway.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Why Cormon, We're gonna aid the cash bail system once
- 9:35Speaker 5: and for.
- 9:35Speaker 6: All worst sov On Mo'm done. He wants to go
- 9:38Speaker 6: even further with them in charge. You are not safe.
- 9:43Speaker 3: We deserve better. I'm Curtish Slim, I'm asking for you,
- 9:47Speaker 3: O for mam.
- 9:48Speaker 7: Together, we'll build back a shafe more affordable lead.
- 9:54Speaker 3: It's not a bad ad and is a part of
- 9:56Speaker 3: the addy as the beret part of the eddie doesn't
- 9:58Speaker 3: have the bret. A lot of people there's to stop
- 10:00Speaker 3: wearing the braid. Stop worrying about the hat. That's not
- 10:03Speaker 3: a factor. It's not an issue in a camp. It
- 10:05Speaker 3: means absolutely nothing to anybody. Nobody's voting based on a hat.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Also bear in mind, is Jimmy Fayle to point it out.
- 10:13Speaker 3: A guy just got elected president wearing a red hat.
- 10:16Speaker 3: You can do it now. This race will come down
- 10:18Speaker 3: to a couple of things. Biggest thing will be the
- 10:20Speaker 3: debate October sixteenth. That could turn the race around. Cuomo
- 10:24Speaker 3: could get wiped out there. He's a bad debater. He
- 10:26Speaker 3: looks awful in debates. Mam Donnie's good. Curtis is great.
- 10:30Speaker 3: They could wipe out Cuomo in the debate. But the
- 10:32Speaker 3: debate could be a turning point in the race. But
- 10:35Speaker 3: here's the main factor. This race will be about turnout.
- 10:39Speaker 3: If there's big turnout, Mam Donnie probably won't win. If
- 10:43Speaker 3: there is that turnout that we've had the last few years,
- 10:45Speaker 3: you know, twenty percent, twenty two percent turnout. That's how
- 10:49Speaker 3: de Blasio got in. There was just no turnout. The
- 10:52Speaker 3: only people that showed up were the crazy young radicals.
- 10:55Speaker 3: If it's twenty percent turnout, yeah it favors Mam Donnie.
- 11:00Speaker 3: But if we go back to the old days with
- 11:02Speaker 3: eighty percent turnout, that's how we You know, Republicans won
- 11:05Speaker 3: five of the last mayoral races, five of the last eight,
- 11:08Speaker 3: and that's how Giuliani won. All of a sudden, people
- 11:10Speaker 3: are fed up, and there was and the polls didn't
- 11:12Speaker 3: show it happening, but there was all of a sudden,
- 11:14Speaker 3: big turnout, So a big turnout, and Mom, Donnie loses.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Now he's being very cautious now and asking when he's
- 11:22Speaker 3: doing interviews, people are calling these word salads. What Kamala
- 11:26Speaker 3: does is a word salad. And she was so silly
- 11:29Speaker 3: and dumb and stupid and inarticulate that she just gives
- 11:33Speaker 3: a word solid an answer. Mom Donnie is very shrewd
- 11:36Speaker 3: and smart, so it sounds like a word salut. But
- 11:38Speaker 3: he's doing it deliberately. He's very carefully talking a lot
- 11:43Speaker 3: without saying anything. So if you listen to his answers,
- 11:45Speaker 3: you don't know what the hell he's saying.
- 11:47Speaker 8: I think New Yorkers deserved leadership that is looking to
- 11:50Speaker 8: be thoughtful as opposed to leadership that is just trying
- 11:54Speaker 8: to engage in the discourse of our politics. And I
- 11:57Speaker 8: think that it's part of what I'm trying to bring
- 12:01Speaker 8: to our politics is a reflection of what I see
- 12:03Speaker 8: in New Yorkers as opposed to what I see in
- 12:05Speaker 8: the people who passed for our leaders Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 3: See, it sounds good, but he's deliberately not saying any
- 12:10Speaker 3: Nobody knows what the helly just said that we don't want.
- 12:14Speaker 3: It's not about being thoughtful, it's about engaging with reflection.
- 12:18Speaker 3: It's a little thoughtful, not too thoughtful, more engagement than thoughtful.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Nobody knows what he means or what he's saying. So well,
- 12:27Speaker 3: we'll get back to the Meryl racing a little while now. Hey,
- 12:30Speaker 3: Cracker Barrel fired the marketing company. You know, I was
- 12:35Speaker 3: talking about this yesterday. These marketing companies are really bad,
- 12:38Speaker 3: some of these marketing companies. There's some good ones, but
- 12:40Speaker 3: there's some really bad ones. And the biggest corporations hire
- 12:44Speaker 3: these marketing companies and there to do the rebrand and
- 12:49Speaker 3: to you know, redesign new love and some of them
- 12:51Speaker 3: are disasters. And the one that Cracker Barrel hired was
- 12:55Speaker 3: a total disaster. It's a company called Profit total disaster.
- 13:00Speaker 3: They came up with the new menu, the new decorps
- 13:03Speaker 3: for the restaurants, the new logo, the new this, the
- 13:05Speaker 3: new that. It was a complete disaster. It was all
- 13:10Speaker 3: so awful. Cracker Barrel lost one hundred and forty million
- 13:14Speaker 3: dollars in value. One hundred and forty million in value. Now,
- 13:20Speaker 3: I don't know what took them so long, but they
- 13:21Speaker 3: finally fired this company. The company's going and this is
- 13:25Speaker 3: also the company put in the DEI hiring, the this,
- 13:27Speaker 3: the that, all of that stuff. Hey, oh, Donald Trump
- 13:32Speaker 3: apparently when he was up here for the Ryder Cup
- 13:35Speaker 3: met with some high ranking not CBS, but the parent company.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Negotiations are taking place for Donald Trump to possibly do
- 13:45Speaker 3: a sixty minutes interview. Now sixty minutes is the most awful,
- 13:50Speaker 3: corrupt show, totally slanted biased, not just the questions the
- 13:55Speaker 3: way they run the interview, but they'll actually doctor up
- 13:58Speaker 3: the video to slant things, to mislead. They'll doctor up
- 14:02Speaker 3: the interviews in the video that got caught doing it
- 14:04Speaker 3: with Kamala Harris. It was so obvious they were trying
- 14:07Speaker 3: to interfere with the election. They doctored up her video
- 14:11Speaker 3: so much that they ended up having to pay a
- 14:13Speaker 3: settlement of about thirty million to Donald Trump. That's how
- 14:17Speaker 3: bad it was. So negotiations are taking place for Trump
- 14:20Speaker 3: to do an interview with sixty minutes. I don't know
- 14:23Speaker 3: why he's even bothering. Nobody watches it anymore. It's not
- 14:25Speaker 3: that big an audience. It doesn't mean much, but Trump
- 14:29Speaker 3: negotiating for certain things. The video or the interview will
- 14:32Speaker 3: have to run absolutely unedited, no edits at all allowed.
- 14:37Speaker 3: He's agreed to Bill Whittaker to do it, and knowing him,
- 14:42Speaker 3: he's very smart, he'll figure out what night he wants
- 14:45Speaker 3: it on. Sixty minutes doesn't have a lot of viewers anymore.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Used to be the number one show in television, used
- 14:49Speaker 3: to get sixty million people. Gets nothing now. But the
- 14:53Speaker 3: only times it gets any ratings if it's on after
- 14:55Speaker 3: a big, huge game. So if it's a really important
- 14:58Speaker 3: football game or The Master or something like that, when
- 15:00Speaker 3: it ends, it goes right to sixteen minutes. So Trump
- 15:03Speaker 3: will pick one of those nights. So, hey, we got
- 15:06Speaker 3: a lot coming up, and we'll take some calls. Next.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Simone on woor.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Hey, we'll take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:23Speaker 3: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Kathy North, Carolina. Kathy,
- 15:27Speaker 3: how you doing?
- 15:29Speaker 9: Hey, Mark, it's good to talk to you, it's good
- 15:31Speaker 9: to hear you. I have a random question. I know
- 15:34Speaker 9: you're not a financial guru, but of course your friend
- 15:37Speaker 9: Larry Cudlow is, so maybe he can answer this someday.
- 15:40Speaker 9: All that money that Doge saved billions and billions, where
- 15:44Speaker 9: does that show up?
- 15:45Speaker 2: Like?
- 15:45Speaker 9: Where is it being pocketed? Is it in the It
- 15:48Speaker 9: doesn't seem to be in the budget. The budget would
- 15:50Speaker 9: have been missing several billion dollars because we didn't have
- 15:53Speaker 9: to pay out to that. So I just I remember
- 15:56Speaker 9: talking about it and hearing about it. But where does
- 15:58Speaker 9: it physically show up?
- 16:00Speaker 3: It doesn't show up. It's just the actual budget drops.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Spending drops a little. Now. The problem is you got Congress,
- 16:06Speaker 3: and Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. Whenever there's
- 16:09Speaker 3: money they start spending it again. That's the problem. You
- 16:12Speaker 3: can keep cutting the spending, but Democrats and Republicans in
- 16:15Speaker 3: Congress keep bringing it back.
- 16:18Speaker 9: But you're telling me that if we didn't if we
- 16:21Speaker 9: didn't do dose, then this outrageous budget would be that
- 16:25Speaker 9: many more billion more.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I mean, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 16:29Speaker 9: So you are a financial guru.
- 16:31Speaker 3: No, it's a simple common sense. If you get rid
- 16:32Speaker 3: of seven hundred thousand people, your pay roll is less money. Obviously,
- 16:37Speaker 3: I know, but I know it's North Carolina. But this
- 16:40Speaker 3: is not hard to figure it out. Now, what's going
- 16:42Speaker 3: on down there in North Carolina.
- 16:45Speaker 9: It's beautiful today. Fall is coming. I'm not my favorite season.
- 16:49Speaker 9: I really love summer, but it's here. It's quite nice.
- 16:53Speaker 9: And we have that big we have a big governor's
- 16:56Speaker 9: race going on. I guess, or no, I guess the
- 16:58Speaker 9: governor is running for the Senate seat. So we're going
- 17:02Speaker 9: to look for that. I'm going to try schuck you
- 17:05Speaker 9: out with that.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Say hello to Barney Fife and OPI and everybody down there, and.
- 17:09Speaker 7: Hey, hey, hey, we love North Carolina.
- 17:13Speaker 3: It's a great place. Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 17:15Speaker 3: Dave in Chicago. Dave, how you.
- 17:17Speaker 9: Doing good morning, Mark.
- 17:19Speaker 10: I'm doing very well, Thank you.
- 17:21Speaker 9: Mark.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I know in the recent passed we were all told
- 17:24Speaker 1: not to use TikTok because it came from China and.
- 17:27Speaker 10: It stole all of our personal information. My question is
- 17:31Speaker 10: what's the latest.
- 17:32Speaker 7: Status, because I know President Trump does have a TikTok account.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Yeah you can. Well, you know he's got so many phones.
- 17:39Speaker 3: You can have one on a phone that is not
- 17:42Speaker 3: on his phone. But it'll get safer and safer. I
- 17:45Speaker 3: get to wait till it's completely turned over to the
- 17:48Speaker 3: new Board of Directors. So instead of the communist Chinese
- 17:52Speaker 3: having all your data, Larry Ellenson will have it. It'll
- 17:54Speaker 3: be Oracle and some other people running it. But should
- 17:57Speaker 3: be safer. It should be safe. Hey, nowadays all these
- 17:59Speaker 3: apps steal everything. You just don't want to go into
- 18:01Speaker 3: the communist Chinese government. Who knows what they're up to there.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 18:07Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark. That's Mike.
- 18:10Speaker 1: He's listening to the ads you played from the candidates.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Don't you find it funny that in this day and age,
- 18:14Speaker 1: the ads haven't changed much. It's still I'll be ready
- 18:17Speaker 1: on day one they'll have one eventually with the guy
- 18:20Speaker 1: sitting in the diner. It's like there's a million people
- 18:23Speaker 1: online who have like clever memes and you know, have
- 18:26Speaker 1: unique takes on things, and these politicians still can't get
- 18:29Speaker 1: out of the twentieth century.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a very good point. Now, the reason for
- 18:33Speaker 3: that is there's only a handful of these political consultants,
- 18:37Speaker 3: and they go from campaign to campaign and teach everybody
- 18:41Speaker 3: the same exact ad. You know, if you're a great
- 18:43Speaker 3: consultant and incredible marketing video, you're going to go to
- 18:46Speaker 3: work for all these big corporations. You're not going to
- 18:48Speaker 3: do politics. But that's a good point. Yeah, they all
- 18:50Speaker 3: do this. I'll be ready on day one. So what
- 18:53Speaker 3: everybody's ready on day one? Every Hey, iHeart every major company.
- 18:58Speaker 3: We hire people all the time. One they show up,
- 19:00Speaker 3: they're ready. We've never had anybody who we hired say
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm not ready. I can't stop, I'll have to come
- 19:08Speaker 3: back another time. I'm just not ready. Everybody is ready
- 19:11Speaker 3: day one. Let's go to Stan in Forest Hills, Stan,
- 19:14Speaker 3: How you're doing, How you doing?
- 19:16Speaker 7: Happy holidays? I just want to say, you know, I
- 19:20Speaker 7: keep hearing that's socialism which I'm not a.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Communist, but you sound like a communist.
- 19:25Speaker 7: No, no, I'm not anna sound like one. Do you
- 19:28Speaker 7: ever hear yourself?
- 19:28Speaker 3: But that's a little bit of a communist, you don't know.
- 19:31Speaker 7: The point is, we have socialistic programs in this country
- 19:35Speaker 7: that are extremely successful. Well I mean to name them.
- 19:38Speaker 7: They called social security. We pay into it, but it's
- 19:41Speaker 7: for the masses. We have Medicare, we pay that into it.
- 19:45Speaker 7: It's for the masses, and the greatest one is Medicaid, which.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Is in Southern I know that's an old, old cliche
- 19:51Speaker 3: Democratic it's not a cliche. We got to cut you
- 19:53Speaker 3: off there. It's an old democratic cliche talking point. It's
- 19:56Speaker 3: a government program. It's not socialist. I mean, you could
- 19:59Speaker 3: say that's what's socialism, is government handouts. But it's not
- 20:03Speaker 3: a socialist. You can opt in, you can opt out,
- 20:05Speaker 3: you can do whatever the hell you want. You cannot
- 20:07Speaker 3: take it. Let's go to David in New Jersey. David,
- 20:10Speaker 3: how you.
- 20:11Speaker 10: Doing all right? Good morning? Thank you very much for
- 20:14Speaker 10: taking my call. This is the first time I ever
- 20:16Speaker 10: called I listened to you. You're I think you're great.
- 20:18Speaker 10: Thank you for what you do.
- 20:21Speaker 3: When a guy butters you up first. It means he's
- 20:23Speaker 3: up to something. All right, go ahead, I like.
- 20:26Speaker 10: To hear your opinion on this. We know this Mondomie,
- 20:29Speaker 10: he's a he's an anti semi. The Jews in New
- 20:35Speaker 10: York has, from my understanding, has the biggest population outside Israel.
- 20:41Speaker 10: We know Como's a thief and a bum. What's wrong
- 20:44Speaker 10: with these Jews not voting against this guy?
- 20:47Speaker 3: And they aren't putting your Most of the Jewish community
- 20:50Speaker 3: is totally against him, working hard against him. And let
- 20:52Speaker 3: me just defend and Cuomo. I don't think that he's
- 20:54Speaker 3: a thief, the worst governor ever. Yes, a complete incompetent,
- 20:58Speaker 3: a disgrace. Yes, all his sexual Yes, a thief. No,
- 21:03Speaker 3: we don't know if I'm actually stealing money.
- 21:06Speaker 10: But why aren't they putting your vote towards Sleeva?
- 21:09Speaker 3: I do A lot of them are? A lot of
- 21:11Speaker 3: them are.
- 21:13Speaker 10: So Slew should be running away with this instead of.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Well, we love the Jewish community, but it's a tiny,
- 21:18Speaker 3: tiny part of the electorate, it's not a big part
- 21:21Speaker 3: of it's not a big percentage of the votes. But
- 21:23Speaker 3: they are men much of the Jewish community back in Sliva.
- 21:26Speaker 10: And well, let's hope so Yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 3: No, it's just unfortunately it's not a big enough part
- 21:31Speaker 3: of the electorate. Again, it's a turnout race. If you
- 21:36Speaker 3: get huge turnout, Montdomie loses. If you get what we've
- 21:39Speaker 3: been getting for like Deblasio or Eric Adams, where it's
- 21:42Speaker 3: eighteen percent turnout twenty, that's where you have a problem. Hey,
- 21:45Speaker 3: when we come back, Liz Peak will be with us next.
- 21:47Speaker 3: The great columnist. Let's see what she thinks about all
- 21:50Speaker 3: of this. We'll get to that next on seven to
- 21:52Speaker 3: ten w R.
- 21:54Speaker 2: One An Instant Dose of Honesty any Time, the Mark
- 21:57Speaker 2: Someone Podcast. He's on the Iart Radio app and at
- 22:01Speaker 2: seven ten w o R dot com Slash Podcast seven ten.
- 22:06Speaker 3: W o rs Mark Simone. Well, the great columnist Liz Peak,
- 22:11Speaker 3: and of course you see her all over television. You
- 22:13Speaker 3: can see her columns foxnews dot com. Also make sure
- 22:17Speaker 3: you go to her website, a great news site, lizpeak
- 22:20Speaker 3: dot com, lizpeak dot com, great stuff every day. Up there,
- 22:24Speaker 3: Liz Peak.
- 22:25Speaker 10: How you doing, I'm terrific.
- 22:27Speaker 6: Thanks for having me on.
- 22:28Speaker 10: Mark.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Well, you know I'm watching Schumer and the Keem Jeffries
- 22:33Speaker 3: all over television. Every Hey's gonna die. We're gonna die.
- 22:35Speaker 3: This is gonna die. And then they all left for
- 22:38Speaker 3: the weekend. They're on vacation. Now, how does this work?
- 22:41Speaker 6: I guess we're not going to die right away?
- 22:43Speaker 3: Yeah. So are these two just tone deaf Jeffries and Schumer?
- 22:49Speaker 3: Are they just out of touch?
- 22:51Speaker 4: Uh?
- 22:52Speaker 6: They're scared to death. Mark, I think the progressive left
- 22:57Speaker 6: has a stranglehold on the Democratic Party right now. And honestly,
- 23:00Speaker 6: I think you can fairly say that if AOC Alexandrio
- 23:05Speaker 6: Cacio Cortez, the progressive darling from New York State, was
- 23:08Speaker 6: not threatening to primary Chuck Schumer when he's up for
- 23:12Speaker 6: reelection in twenty eight we would not be having a
- 23:14Speaker 6: government shutdown. When he signed on and agreed to go
- 23:18Speaker 6: along with the Republican funding bill in March, he got
- 23:21Speaker 6: absolutely sporched by the progressive left. They hated him for
- 23:26Speaker 6: going along. They think the only thing the Democrats should
- 23:29Speaker 6: be doing is resisting everything Republicans and Donald Trump are
- 23:33Speaker 6: trying to do. And so he learned his lesson. I mean,
- 23:37Speaker 6: when you look at poland guess what Schumer might be
- 23:40Speaker 6: beaten by AOC. It's completely possible. So you know, it's
- 23:45Speaker 6: like Andrew Cuomo running against mom Donni in New York
- 23:49Speaker 6: City for the mayor's race. I mean, basically, Cuomo a
- 23:52Speaker 6: sort of long time I guess moderate Democrat, although I
- 23:56Speaker 6: think he's a pretty far left Democrat. He is nothing
- 23:59Speaker 6: compared to Mamdani. That's where the energy is, that's where
- 24:02Speaker 6: the excitement is in the Democratic Party. So I mean, honestly,
- 24:05Speaker 6: you have this ridiculous situation where the entire country is
- 24:10Speaker 6: in the grip of AOC who, in my view, is
- 24:13Speaker 6: an incredibly know nothing Democrat representative who has tremendous social
- 24:19Speaker 6: media presence. And that's about it.
- 24:22Speaker 3: And how did we get to this point? Is it
- 24:24Speaker 3: because the universities became in doctrination centers over the last
- 24:29Speaker 3: few decades and we've raised generations of far left kookie
- 24:32Speaker 3: socialist young Is that how this is happening.
- 24:35Speaker 6: Without a doubt, without a doubt, that is part of it.
- 24:38Speaker 6: I mean, I think in terms of what ails the
- 24:41Speaker 6: Democratic Party, well, first of all, let's look at their record.
- 24:46Speaker 6: Show me a Democrat run state in the United States
- 24:50Speaker 6: that is prospering. The answer is, you can't because their
- 24:53Speaker 6: policies don't work. Mamdani has risen to fame by talking
- 24:58Speaker 6: about affordability. He's completely right that the two most expensive
- 25:03Speaker 6: states to live in are New York and California. Why
- 25:06Speaker 6: would that be, I wonder Well, let's talk about high
- 25:09Speaker 6: taxes and tons of regulation that make it almost impossible
- 25:13Speaker 6: to operate a small business, and all the kinds of
- 25:17Speaker 6: labor laws that they put in effect that jack up
- 25:20Speaker 6: the price of everything from uber drivers to delivery drivers,
- 25:24Speaker 6: delivery people for food and stuff. All that may seem
- 25:28Speaker 6: like a good thing, but the reality is it means
- 25:31Speaker 6: it's incredibly expensive to live in these states. So weirdly,
- 25:35Speaker 6: it's Democrat policies that have pushed the emergence of Democratic
- 25:41Speaker 6: socialists who pretend they're going to solve those affordability issues
- 25:45Speaker 6: by being even farther to the left, having even more
- 25:48Speaker 6: regulation and more taxes, and doing everything that Democrats have
- 25:53Speaker 6: been doing for decades, but on steroids. I mean, you
- 25:55Speaker 6: cannot come up with a worse argument for election than that,
- 26:00Speaker 6: and yet it is resonating.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Yeah, if you think about it, the Democrats have run
- 26:04Speaker 3: every inch in New York legislature, albanys, governor, mayor city
- 26:08Speaker 3: council for about twelve years. So why would if there's
- 26:12Speaker 3: such a crisis. Why wouldn't you just switch parties? That's
- 26:14Speaker 3: the obvious thing to do.
- 26:15Speaker 9: Yeah, Mark, you know you're thinking straight.
- 26:18Speaker 6: The problem is all these young people are not and
- 26:22Speaker 6: part of it is what you call indoctrination. And that's
- 26:25Speaker 6: exactly the right word for it. You know, during the
- 26:29Speaker 6: Vietnam era, if you think back that long, what how
- 26:32Speaker 6: did you escape the draft? All the lefty hippies who
- 26:36Speaker 6: didn't approve of the warren Vietnam could avoid the draft
- 26:40Speaker 6: by becoming teachers and professors.
- 26:43Speaker 10: So they did.
- 26:44Speaker 6: And guess what here we are all these years later.
- 26:47Speaker 6: These guys have organized and run the departments of America's
- 26:52Speaker 6: colleges now for forty plus years. They hire people who
- 26:57Speaker 6: think the way they do. Polling shows early the faculty
- 27:01Speaker 6: at Harvard, for example, doesn't even want to have any
- 27:04Speaker 6: kind of diversity of opinion in Harvard's faculty. They don't
- 27:08Speaker 6: approve of that. So you have a very solid generation
- 27:12Speaker 6: now that is incredibly left wing and by the way,
- 27:15Speaker 6: incredibly ignorant because they don't know the history of the
- 27:19Speaker 6: Soviet Union. They don't know the history of Venezuela and
- 27:22Speaker 6: how or Cuba or any of these countries that are
- 27:25Speaker 6: so poor and so destitute in the case of Soviet Union,
- 27:28Speaker 6: that actually collapsed under the weight of the kinds of
- 27:32Speaker 6: policies that they are now embracing. Had they been ever
- 27:35Speaker 6: taught that, or taught about the virtues of capitalism and
- 27:39Speaker 6: how capitalist free countries do well and create wealth for
- 27:44Speaker 6: their people, maybe they wouldn't be so eager to flock
- 27:48Speaker 6: to a guy that is touting the same failed policies
- 27:51Speaker 6: that really have caused millions to live in poverty.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it's a strange election here in New York.
- 27:58Speaker 3: You got one candidate is the absolute worst of the
- 28:00Speaker 3: new generation Democrat and the other candidate's the worst of
- 28:04Speaker 3: the old generation Demosray, Yeah, isn't.
- 28:06Speaker 9: That the truth?
- 28:06Speaker 6: That's a really good point. It's oh, it's like and
- 28:10Speaker 6: and that's you know, that's obviously anyway, that's a local issue.
- 28:14Speaker 6: We have two terrible candidates running. Uh, and so it's
- 28:17Speaker 6: it's like, you know, the worst of the choice.
- 28:19Speaker 10: You can make.
- 28:20Speaker 6: But but I think generally nationally, when you look at Schumern,
- 28:24Speaker 6: Schumer in particular should be embarrassed. I mean, how many
- 28:27Speaker 6: times has he paraded before the cameras well every Sunday
- 28:30Speaker 6: night he used to, if you recall, because nobody else bothered. Uh,
- 28:34Speaker 6: And he would talk about how terrible government shutdowns are,
- 28:38Speaker 6: how they really hurt the country. And here they are
- 28:41Speaker 6: insisting on one for what end? To what end they
- 28:45Speaker 6: want to? I mean, they don't want to give the
- 28:48Speaker 6: Senate and it's just a few weeks to get their
- 28:51Speaker 6: spending bill in order. They don't want to do that.
- 28:55Speaker 6: So again, this is this is play acting. It's performative politics,
- 28:59Speaker 6: which is what Democrats have really kind of, you know,
- 29:03Speaker 6: become very good at or at least sort of that's
- 29:07Speaker 6: all they do. Now it's performingtive politics with no particular purpose,
- 29:12Speaker 6: and I think it's a tragedy honestly.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, great stuff, Liz Peak. Hey, everybody check out
- 29:17Speaker 3: her website lizpeak dot com. You got great stories there
- 29:20Speaker 3: every day. It's a great news site, lizpeak dot com.

- 29:31Speaker 3: Thanks for being with.
- 29:32Speaker 10: Us, Thank you so much for having me.
- 29:34Speaker 3: All right, take care, let me just see here the
- 29:38Speaker 3: did he trial? Well, no, no word, it's going to
- 29:42Speaker 3: be a little while. The hearing is underway. Did he
- 29:46Speaker 3: will be sentenced at some point, will bring it to
- 29:48Speaker 3: you when it happens. The judge says trial evidence did
- 29:52Speaker 3: establish that they were transported for the purpose of engaging
- 29:55Speaker 3: in a commercial sex act. That doesn't sound good prosecute
- 30:00Speaker 3: and wants eleven years. Did he wants time served? That's
- 30:04Speaker 3: fourteen months. Criminal lawyers say it'll be somewhere in the
- 30:08Speaker 3: middle of five six years. Well, we'll see, it'll happen
- 30:10Speaker 3: later this morning and we'll get to that coming up
- 30:13Speaker 3: on seven ten WR.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Mark Simone on seven tenor.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Hey, we got a stop for the news. We'll got
- 30:23Speaker 3: updated on everything, find out all the latest, and then
- 30:25Speaker 3: we got another hour to go with lots to get to.
- 30:28Speaker 3: We'll get to the mayoral race again and we'll get to, Hey,
- 30:32Speaker 3: the Trump sombrero stuff. We'll explain how that came about
- 30:35Speaker 3: and more right after the news on seven ten WR
