- 0:02Speaker 1: Minnesota basketball fans, Welcome back to the Living in Loserville
- 0:08Speaker 1: podcast where we cover the Timberwolves in a little bit
- 0:11Speaker 1: of the Gophers. Okay, for those who haven't heard the show,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Living in Loserville the Timberwolves, you know, it is pretty
- 0:20Speaker 1: much Loserville. We know the Lakers were successful back in
- 0:23Speaker 1: the day, way way way back in the day. But
- 0:28Speaker 1: it's not a negative show. Okay, we get that a lot,
- 0:31Speaker 1: or I get that a lot. I should say, we're
- 0:35Speaker 1: going to talk, well, what else some Timberwolves? Right, there
- 0:37Speaker 1: were three and two in the last five games since
- 0:40Speaker 1: we did the did the show. You know, we did
- 0:46Speaker 1: get Dante back, We did get Randall back. That was
- 0:51Speaker 1: a big talking point there for a couple of weeks.
- 0:55Speaker 1: How how in the world are we going to get
- 0:59Speaker 1: how are they going to fit in? It was a big,
- 1:03Speaker 1: big talking point amongst the media and short little sample
- 1:09Speaker 1: sizes looking pretty good. It's looking pretty good now. Obviously,
- 1:12Speaker 1: Rudy sounds like he's been added to the questionable report
- 1:17Speaker 1: for tomorrow night against the Heat, and of course the
- 1:21Speaker 1: talking point is, now, how are we gonna bring Rudy back?
- 1:25Speaker 1: Is this gonna work? Will it work? Should he be
- 1:29Speaker 1: the twelfth man numbs kidding. Anyway, We're gonna talk about it.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You know, McDaniels, man, his MIDI game is getting ridiculous,
- 1:41Speaker 1: Man Finch, now that these guys are coming back. Finch
- 1:47Speaker 1: talked about how many guys he wants to play or
- 1:51Speaker 1: hopes to play, Conley or rob is a question that
- 1:58Speaker 1: a lot of people have lee is you know, not
- 2:02Speaker 1: played up to his standard this year? We all know that.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Is he getting a little better, Yeah, a little better,
- 2:08Speaker 1: but he's still not near his standard that he's shown
- 2:12Speaker 1: for us. But I said this, I think the last show,
- 2:18Speaker 1: maybe the show before that, but this is basically Kyle
- 2:23Speaker 1: Anderson slow moo scenario right now, where a lot of
- 2:27Speaker 1: people do not want to see him on the court,
- 2:30Speaker 1: Which was kind of a head scratcher because when Dante
- 2:33Speaker 1: was out, it's like, really, dude, you're not even gonna
- 2:35Speaker 1: play him like that. That was silly to me. But
- 2:38Speaker 1: I get it now that Dante's back, So yeah, we'll
- 2:43Speaker 1: talk it. We'll talk about it. You know, we'll talk
- 2:46Speaker 1: about it. And there is a little bit of follow
- 2:52Speaker 1: up on that Durant stuff that I talked about. I
- 2:55Speaker 1: got a message or too from that. I got a
- 2:58Speaker 1: messager to about the about nas whether we're talking about
- 3:05Speaker 1: him right now, we're talking about him last year, the
- 3:08Speaker 1: last two years, how he's filled in at the four spot,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and I did talk about how I felt like people
- 3:18Speaker 1: were overrating what was going on in recent games Win,
- 3:23Speaker 1: Randall and Dante were down, especially especially Randall because you
- 3:28Speaker 1: know that's where that's where NOAs is going to play
- 3:31Speaker 1: the four lately without Rudy, he's been at the four.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Randall's been at the five since he's returned. But yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 1: just a little bit of follow up. I did get
- 3:40Speaker 1: some questions about that, so I want to talk about that,
- 3:43Speaker 1: and then you know what, we'll preview the upcoming schedule.
- 3:49Speaker 1: There's only two back to backs left in the schedule,
- 3:54Speaker 1: only two back to backs, so that's that's pretty good anyway.
- 3:57Speaker 1: If this is your first time listening to The Living
- 3:59Speaker 1: and Loser about excuse me, wow, Living in Lizerville podcast, Welcome.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It's The home base is under Ropeodope Radio podcast on Sprinker,
- 4:12Speaker 1: which can be found Ropodope Radio and Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio,
- 4:16Speaker 1: Google Podcast, Amazon Music, Spotify as well, along with you
- 4:23Speaker 1: know some other other platforms out there. While you're at it,
- 4:27Speaker 1: head on over to Thegruelingtruth dot com and Sports News
- 4:31Speaker 1: twenty four. One more thing from Direct TV Stream. There
- 4:35Speaker 1: are any introducing a new genre pack. Okay, it's groundbreaking affordable.

- 4:47Speaker 1: four ninety nine a month and you can cancel any time.
- 4:53Speaker 1: They do have a free trial that you may want
- 4:55Speaker 1: to take advantage of. College basketball is right around the
- 4:59Speaker 1: corner for or the tournament, right it's March now, March madness.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Don't miss a moment of college basketball tournament with Direct
- 5:06Speaker 1: TV Stream. Of course, you know they have they have
- 5:12Speaker 1: the Entertainment package right now still eighty six ninety nine
- 5:16Speaker 1: per month. They have a deal on the Choice Package
- 5:19Speaker 1: right now, which includes the SEC Network and Fan Duel
- 5:22Speaker 1: which was Bally's eighty nine ninety nine for the first
- 5:25Speaker 1: three months, and then the Ultimate Package that includes one
- 5:29Speaker 1: hundred and sixty channels one of four ninety nine for
- 5:33Speaker 1: the first three months. Okay, So I do kind of
- 5:39Speaker 1: want to just talk about the last five games a
- 5:43Speaker 1: little bit. Ill I remember I said I want to
- 5:48Speaker 1: say four and one, but I'm not ready to say that,
- 5:51Speaker 1: so I said three and two, and sure enough, I
- 5:54Speaker 1: called it. No I'm kidding, well I did, but you know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: no big deal, right, So the three and two last
- 6:00Speaker 1: five games, like I said, they've they've gotten Randal and
- 6:04Speaker 1: Dante back. Dante has just been on a tear from
- 6:09Speaker 1: three point Land since he's been back. Of course there's
- 6:13Speaker 1: no way that'll continue, but I mean he has been
- 6:16Speaker 1: on a tear. And then Randal very impressive thus far.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Like I mentioned, he's been playing at the five, Nas
- 6:28Speaker 1: has been playing at the four where it was Nas
- 6:31Speaker 1: at the five and h McDaniel at the four recently, anyway,
- 6:38Speaker 1: before you know, or after Rudy got hurt, I should
- 6:41Speaker 1: say so. And much has been made about just how
- 6:46Speaker 1: he looks Randall body wise, health wise. I listened to
- 6:51Speaker 1: Dane Moore podcasts yesterday or today too, and they and
- 6:57Speaker 1: he talked about how, you know, the and I think
- 6:59Speaker 1: he tweeted this too, how his shoulder. Randall's shoulder is
- 7:02Speaker 1: probably a lot healthier than it was at the beginning
- 7:05Speaker 1: of the season, and just in general it kinda he
- 7:09Speaker 1: just looked in great shape. Not that he looked out
- 7:11Speaker 1: of shape earlier in this season by any stretch, but
- 7:13Speaker 1: he just he may have lost a little bit of weight,
- 7:18Speaker 1: thinned down a little bit. Sometimes that happens when you
- 7:20Speaker 1: have injuries where you want to take a little pressure
- 7:23Speaker 1: off of it. This isn't like a knee or a calf, obviously,
- 7:27Speaker 1: but he does look great. He does look great, and
- 7:33Speaker 1: he looks just kind of like he did before he
- 7:37Speaker 1: got hurt, the last chunk of time where it seemed
- 7:40Speaker 1: like he was getting it. Remember we always heard that
- 7:43Speaker 1: you know, it's gonna take a little while to adjust
- 7:46Speaker 1: if in fact he can adjust, and how he was
- 7:50Speaker 1: very wired to score in New York and you could
- 7:54Speaker 1: kind of see that earlier in the year and it
- 7:56Speaker 1: would lead to turnovers and just bad possession. And you
- 8:02Speaker 1: know we, like I said, before he got hurt, the
- 8:05Speaker 1: numbers don't bear it out individually per se. But he
- 8:10Speaker 1: was moving the ball. And he was asked yesterday, you
- 8:13Speaker 1: know what's the biggest difference from the bench seeing what
- 8:16Speaker 1: you can do? You know, to already have to already
- 8:19Speaker 1: kind of have negative stuff early where you're not really
- 8:22Speaker 1: fitting in and then starting to figure out. Then you
- 8:26Speaker 1: got hurt. Then you sat there and watched, and then
- 8:29Speaker 1: now you come in with a little bit more knowledge,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I guess you could say, and he said, pace movement,
- 8:37Speaker 1: you know, like he's really starting to get it. And
- 8:42Speaker 1: I've said it so far a couple of times since
- 8:46Speaker 1: the show started up again this year after Viking the
- 8:49Speaker 1: Viking season ended. And when he gets he's really good
- 8:56Speaker 1: at rebounding. Maybe not overall with his numbers, but he's
- 9:03Speaker 1: he's in this day and age, especially against certain teams,
- 9:07Speaker 1: he can really rebound well. And I noticed he gets
- 9:10Speaker 1: followed on offensive rebounds as well. So he's been really good.
- 9:16Speaker 1: He's been aggressive, he's been getting off the ball, he's
- 9:20Speaker 1: been getting the line. He's played great. Really. Like I said,
- 9:24Speaker 1: a lot was made about how in the world are
- 9:28Speaker 1: we going to, you know, bring these guys back. And
- 9:32Speaker 1: I kind of thought it was it's worth a thought experience,
- 9:37Speaker 1: you know, or experience observations. It's it's worth like an exercise,
- 9:44Speaker 1: a thought exercise, is what I was actually trying to say.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And and but I thought, you know, that lineup that
- 9:52Speaker 1: we were not all that successful with, and rightfully so,
- 9:57Speaker 1: because we had you know, guys out. I just they're
- 10:02Speaker 1: putting two months too much emphasis on this, and it's like,
- 10:07Speaker 1: you know, we need them back, and there's games where
- 10:09Speaker 1: we needed them and shit. The first game I'm going
- 10:11Speaker 1: to talk about was the Lakers. We needed them there,
- 10:14Speaker 1: and so I kind of felt like it was it
- 10:18Speaker 1: was falling into the same thing as NAS last year
- 10:21Speaker 1: for those eleven games he started, and I thought they
- 10:24Speaker 1: were a little overinflated, except we didn't even have the
- 10:29Speaker 1: record this year, you know what I mean. So, I mean,
- 10:34Speaker 1: of course we have a record with them out, but
- 10:37Speaker 1: it wasn't eight and three, let's just put it that way.
- 10:40Speaker 1: So I thought that was a little overblown. Like I said,
- 10:43Speaker 1: I don't think it'll go as smoothly as it has been.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Though I'm not going to act like, oh, you know
- 10:50Speaker 1: it just we're going to the conference final. I'm just
- 10:53Speaker 1: saying that, you know. I just thought it was overdone.
- 10:58Speaker 1: The youth movement was fun and it really shows you,
- 11:02Speaker 1: including this year in the next you know, three years,
- 11:06Speaker 1: probably especially for Dillingham and Shannon because they can be
- 11:10Speaker 1: under four year deals. It was like, we now know
- 11:15Speaker 1: we have a future with some of these guys, and
- 11:17Speaker 1: whether they're still in the team, I guess or not, right,
- 11:20Speaker 1: there's a potential that they could they could be in
- 11:23Speaker 1: on the on a trade. You never know. My point
- 11:26Speaker 1: is it really it was great. It was great, and
- 11:30Speaker 1: it shows you how good you know, Tim Connley isn't
- 11:34Speaker 1: all that. But I just thought it was overblown because
- 11:38Speaker 1: a lot of it was based off them saying it
- 11:43Speaker 1: just funner to watch, man, I like this style better.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And my point was we were, you know, making that
- 11:51Speaker 1: that point last year was that we it looked ugly,
- 11:56Speaker 1: but it sure was effective, you know. So my point
- 11:59Speaker 1: out of all that stuff was just this is great.
- 12:04Speaker 1: We have depth. Someone's not gonna play, maybe multiple people
- 12:09Speaker 1: won't play. But to me, it just I don't know,
- 12:13Speaker 1: it felt a little it was just I don't know,
- 12:17Speaker 1: it just it kind of bugged me a little bit
- 12:19Speaker 1: because it was like, dude, we're not going to do
- 12:21Speaker 1: this again, are we? And I felt people were doing
- 12:24Speaker 1: that but yet you know, so they were doing it,
- 12:28Speaker 1: but they but the positivity, like the offense was good,
- 12:31Speaker 1: no doubt, but like it wasn't like we were doing great.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So that's what kind of threw me off a little bit,
- 12:39Speaker 1: you know, because we were five and eight without Randall,
- 12:43Speaker 1: we missed thirteen games. We were five and eight, and
- 12:49Speaker 1: our longest winning streak is right before he went out.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So and I don't put a major emphasis on that.
- 13:03Speaker 1: But it to me, it was just a little overblown
- 13:06Speaker 1: because and that's why the vibe was like last year
- 13:09Speaker 1: people were saying, don't even bring Cat back in the
- 13:13Speaker 1: you know, in the first round, or I even heard
- 13:16Speaker 1: some folks this is more like part time media folks saying,
- 13:20Speaker 1: don't even plan because they won't get hurt and we'll
- 13:22Speaker 1: trade them, you know, just just stuff like, all right, dude,
- 13:25Speaker 1: if you like Na's better and Cat, just say it,
- 13:27Speaker 1: but don't add all this other shit in it. That's
- 13:30Speaker 1: my problem. And you know I don't. I still, unless
- 13:34Speaker 1: we make a deep run, I still think we're gonna
- 13:36Speaker 1: trade Randall. But the team is what we have right now,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So yeah, I just I
- 13:42Speaker 1: just thought that was a little overblown. Now I'm not
- 13:45Speaker 1: gonna sit there and act like, you know, it's gonna
- 13:48Speaker 1: be this smooth either, you know, so either way, Randall's
- 13:53Speaker 1: look great. Randall has looked great in that Laker game,
- 13:58Speaker 1: though Devincenzo did return. And another thing I stressed last
- 14:03Speaker 1: week was these horrible starts have to go. We cannot
- 14:08Speaker 1: start as bad as we have. And it was really bad,
- 14:13Speaker 1: like really bad. I mean, the first there's a moment
- 14:16Speaker 1: there where Lebron and Luca had twenty one points and
- 14:19Speaker 1: the timber Wolves had seventeen. You know, I mean it
- 14:23Speaker 1: was it was bad man. They were up by like
- 14:27Speaker 1: twenty three, you know something like that, and you know,
- 14:32Speaker 1: to they did shrink the lead. To give him credit,
- 14:36Speaker 1: it was fifty eight I think the forty seven and
- 14:38Speaker 1: a half, so they did make a run in Terrence.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Shannon Junior played great that game, by the way, and
- 14:47Speaker 1: that was a game I think somebody even tweeted it
- 14:49Speaker 1: like that was a game where Randall would would it
- 14:52Speaker 1: came in handy? I mean, come on, dude, like it's
- 14:56Speaker 1: pretty basic. So Na McDaniels definitely struggled. Luca hit a
- 15:03Speaker 1: crazy ash late shot. The refs, I will say the
- 15:06Speaker 1: ref the refs kind of sucked that night, not kind of.
- 15:11Speaker 1: There was a point where it was like forty two
- 15:13Speaker 1: to twenty or something like that for falls and a
- 15:17Speaker 1: bunch of them. I don't think it was half, but
- 15:21Speaker 1: it was close to half or in the fourth quarter.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Reeves was getting like Jordan type calls, right, So if
- 15:27Speaker 1: you got Braun Luca Ann Reeves getting calls, it's like, wow,
- 15:31Speaker 1: that's not gonna be that's gonna suck, but something so
- 15:37Speaker 1: the bad starts to have to stop right But also
- 15:41Speaker 1: yet I think it was last week I talked about
- 15:45Speaker 1: Ant and Vanda, and Ant got into a little push
- 15:48Speaker 1: and shoves, but he got two texts and got thrown
- 15:51Speaker 1: out of the game. And you know, we turned around
- 15:59Speaker 1: and lost to the game to Utah. So we did
- 16:01Speaker 1: get it close. Like I said, Luca hit a crazy shot.
- 16:04Speaker 1: We lost the game. But if we didn't have that
- 16:07Speaker 1: bad of a start, or if Ant did get the
- 16:10Speaker 1: thrown out of the game, you know, I don't know,
- 16:13Speaker 1: it's like it's not That's why I was trying to
- 16:16Speaker 1: say about the text. And I talked about this once
- 16:19Speaker 1: they started mounting up on Aunt last year. Is you
- 16:23Speaker 1: gotta save the text for the right time, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and now? And I think I misspoke. I think I said,
- 16:33Speaker 1: if he gets one more than he gets suspended, like
- 16:36Speaker 1: he got suspended against Utah, if he gets one more,
- 16:38Speaker 1: he gets suspended again. I think it's now too. I didn't.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I I forgot who said that, but I was wrong.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I should have looked it up myself. I took it
- 16:48Speaker 1: off of someone. You know, i'd say fairly trustworthy, but
- 16:56Speaker 1: I still should have double checked. And I think it
- 17:01Speaker 1: was John who clarified that that it's so the next
- 17:08Speaker 1: when he gets two, then he misses another game. So
- 17:10Speaker 1: every two texts he gets, he misses another game, and
- 17:14Speaker 1: there's really no point to be in this scenario. And
- 17:17Speaker 1: like I said, you got to save the text for
- 17:18Speaker 1: the right reason. That way you can send a message
- 17:21Speaker 1: and maybe that message would be in the playoffs and
- 17:23Speaker 1: it would really help you the next game or the
- 17:25Speaker 1: rest of the series or something like that. So I
- 17:27Speaker 1: just thought it was a little ridiculous. It did sound like,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you know, he went in front of you know, the
- 17:35Speaker 1: team and said, hey, that's my bad. You know, I
- 17:40Speaker 1: shouldn't I shouldn't have done that, YadA YadA. Yeah, I
- 17:43Speaker 1: gotta get better, right, So it is what it is.
- 17:47Speaker 1: But yeah, it was a little It's just disappointing because
- 17:50Speaker 1: you know, and actually Finch after the game, he said
- 17:54Speaker 1: he's got to be better. He's had too many outbursts.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I think a lot of them are deserved. We've been
- 18:00Speaker 1: talking to him about it though. It's on him, and
- 18:02Speaker 1: like I said, he went in front of the went
- 18:05Speaker 1: in front of the team and said, hey, that's my bad,
- 18:08Speaker 1: blah blah blah. But I don't know, man, It's just
- 18:11Speaker 1: there's really no reason for it to have that many
- 18:14Speaker 1: and miss a game, especially now. And that's what I
- 18:18Speaker 1: stressed last week, is like do we cannot have you
- 18:20Speaker 1: missing games. So it's a combination of we can't have
- 18:24Speaker 1: you missing games because now we dropped a game, you know,
- 18:27Speaker 1: against Utah. So anyway, Utah. The very next game, Utah
- 18:33Speaker 1: got out eight to oh, thirteen to four, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 1: up thirteen to four with like a couple of minutes
- 18:39Speaker 1: into the game, and that's only nine points. But it's like, eh,
- 18:44Speaker 1: you know, both teams though, in that first quarter were
- 18:49Speaker 1: shooting the lights out. I think Utah led thirty five
- 18:53Speaker 1: thirty four around the two minute mark, and I think
- 18:59Speaker 1: that timbroofs did overtake him forty to thirty eight at
- 19:04Speaker 1: the end of the first quarter. So it was McDaniels
- 19:06Speaker 1: I think was five or five. Utah shot sixty percent
- 19:12Speaker 1: from the field and sixty five percent from the three
- 19:15Speaker 1: in that first quarter. But like I said, the thirteen
- 19:16Speaker 1: to four, it's cool, we got up. We ended up
- 19:21Speaker 1: getting up in the end of the quarter. But it's
- 19:24Speaker 1: like it was still a weird start. Good bald movement
- 19:30Speaker 1: as well early on and just in the second quarter.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I think somewhere in the second quarter we were ten
- 19:36Speaker 1: of sixteen from three, NAS was four of six and
- 19:40Speaker 1: it was fifty nine to fifty and you know, Shannon,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I think hit three threes if I remember correctly, we
- 19:51Speaker 1: had twenty two assists, the most in the first half
- 19:53Speaker 1: that we've had. Just like I said, great ball movement.
- 19:56Speaker 1: McDaniels hit a three late, and this was it's kind
- 20:00Speaker 1: of funky because we're up by eleven sixty seven to
- 20:03Speaker 1: fifty six, right and by the seven thirty mark, that
- 20:07Speaker 1: was at halftime. By the seven thirty mark in the third,
- 20:11Speaker 1: Utah texts the lead seventy two to seventy one. Then
- 20:13Speaker 1: it's seventy eight seventy one. They call timeout, it's eighty
- 20:16Speaker 1: one seventy one. It's eighty seven to seventy five. I
- 20:20Speaker 1: think it was like a twenty one to four run
- 20:22Speaker 1: or something like that. Just bad turnovers, missshots. It was ugly.
- 20:28Speaker 1: It was a really ugly way to start and maybe
- 20:32Speaker 1: Aunt would have helped us right there. Now. To the
- 20:36Speaker 1: credit of the squad, they did make eleven two run
- 20:40Speaker 1: and nas had this great snatch from an alley oop,
- 20:45Speaker 1: but you know he proceeded to turn it over. We
- 20:48Speaker 1: did hit back to back threes and tied the game.
- 20:51Speaker 1: There was like a late alley oop in that third quarter,
- 20:54Speaker 1: So Utah ninety four ninety two. It's contained. It's like, okay,
- 21:00Speaker 1: a chunk of time into the fourth that's tied out
- 21:02Speaker 1: one hundred. Jaden has twenty points. Utah was the five
- 21:09Speaker 1: forty two mark and Utah was up on one O
- 21:12Speaker 1: seven four and the points in the paint. That's the
- 21:15Speaker 1: thing about the small lineup. And I'm not even saying
- 21:18Speaker 1: because Randall wasn't back yet, but I'm not even saying
- 21:21Speaker 1: I think there's some trouble there with those two. Uh
- 21:25Speaker 1: as well. It got better. It's not like the beginning
- 21:28Speaker 1: of the season, that's for sure, but with that smaller lineup,
- 21:31Speaker 1: even the points in the paint were just killing us.
- 21:35Speaker 1: They were getting a few lobs, several drives, the layups,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and it's one O nine, one O four and I
- 21:41Speaker 1: think they stretched it to one thirteen to one oh
- 21:43Speaker 1: six under four minutes to play. Now once again credited
- 21:48Speaker 1: the timbrelves because they didn't make a ten to two
- 21:50Speaker 1: run and they took the lead. With like ninety seconds left,
- 21:57Speaker 1: Dante hit a three nas I think did as well.
- 21:59Speaker 1: I want to say McDaniels hid something there, but it's
- 22:03Speaker 1: one sixteen one fifteen, Timberwolves of the buck thirty left
- 22:08Speaker 1: and Conley airballs that you know. Alexander Walker missed the
- 22:11Speaker 1: three utah like it was like past past, past end
- 22:17Speaker 1: of the shot clock dunk. It was just like, really, dude,
- 22:20Speaker 1: so that's the shot they get with like ten seconds
- 22:23Speaker 1: left in the game, a dunk. There was no fall
- 22:28Speaker 1: on Dante. He but then there shouldn't have been. He
- 22:31Speaker 1: should have just pulled up for a jumper. He went
- 22:33Speaker 1: down the lane and it just wasn't you know what
- 22:36Speaker 1: I mean. It just it was just disappointing. And like
- 22:39Speaker 1: I said, some of that is aunt as well. He
- 22:44Speaker 1: could have he could have helped us there, obviously. But
- 22:48Speaker 1: I did want to mention Shannon that Lakers game, like
- 22:52Speaker 1: twenty five points on nine to fifteen, got to the
- 22:56Speaker 1: free throw line six and six. It was only twenty
- 22:59Speaker 1: five minutes. You know, he's the transition off the catch,
- 23:05Speaker 1: like the dude was just doing his thing, man, And
- 23:09Speaker 1: I really liked Shannon the length besides all that stuff. Yeah, man,
- 23:14Speaker 1: that that was. That was a great game. Then there
- 23:20Speaker 1: was Philly kind of started out pretty slow. Noos got
- 23:23Speaker 1: some early falls. You know, I'm pretty sure Aunt was
- 23:27Speaker 1: like questionable with an ankle, but he played. But then
- 23:31Speaker 1: he I think he had something wrong with his thumb.
- 23:33Speaker 1: He went to the locker room, came back. But Randall
- 23:37Speaker 1: was getting to the to the line. I think he
- 23:39Speaker 1: was five of five in the first quarter. Timberwolves were
- 23:43Speaker 1: up by two. Shannon had a beautiful drive to the lane.
- 23:50Speaker 1: You know, we extend the lead midway through the second quarter,
- 23:53Speaker 1: but Philly made a runback and under four minutes it was,
- 23:59Speaker 1: you know, starting to another game. But then you know,
- 24:02Speaker 1: and oh, by the way, and had eighteen points even
- 24:04Speaker 1: though he missed a little bit of time. But it
- 24:06Speaker 1: was fifty seven to fifty three at half, so you know,
- 24:12Speaker 1: I was like, all right, you know whatever, and then
- 24:14Speaker 1: it was like it was it was really good stuff.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Like it took a little while. It was still seventy
- 24:21Speaker 1: three seventy one under five minutes of the third, but
- 24:24Speaker 1: Randall had a good off of I was just saying
- 24:27Speaker 1: this off the off of offensive rebound and one McDaniels
- 24:32Speaker 1: was up to fourteen points. Even Connley was hitting the three.
- 24:34Speaker 1: He had a three at the buzzer, eighty three, eighty.
- 24:38Speaker 1: But then it was like three three pointers in a
- 24:41Speaker 1: row gave us a lead. Dante hits a three, and
- 24:44Speaker 1: it was six straight threes, so it was just like,
- 24:47Speaker 1: all right, dude, we're gonna put you away. You're done.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's over. And I think so, yeah, five and eight,
- 24:57Speaker 1: because this is when Randall came back against Phoenix, So
- 25:00Speaker 1: we were five and eight over all those thirteen games,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and at the time we were two and four without
- 25:07Speaker 1: Rudy as well, And so was it three games? No,
- 25:16Speaker 1: it's only been two, right, it's only been two since that.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I can't remember. Maybe he said that, Yeah, I can't remember.
- 25:25Speaker 1: So is it four and four without Rudy or five
- 25:29Speaker 1: and four? I can't remember anyway. You know, Phoenix started
- 25:36Speaker 1: out pretty good. It was like fifteen to six, so
- 25:38Speaker 1: once again, not a great start. There were two to
- 25:40Speaker 1: ten from the field, not really looking good. Dante though,
- 25:46Speaker 1: big spark back to back threes and had like a
- 25:49Speaker 1: fourteen eight run and Randolin Dante playing really good, and
- 25:54Speaker 1: it was like thirty four to twenty eight. Tias hit
- 25:57Speaker 1: a three shots out to Tias Jones, but he hit
- 26:00Speaker 1: a three to uh you know, make that nice little lead,
- 26:04Speaker 1: giving up thirty four points. Uh Nas had a really
- 26:08Speaker 1: bad game. He was at the time in the second quarter.
- 26:10Speaker 1: He was already a zero of five. He even missed
- 26:14Speaker 1: two free thoughs back to back. It was rough. McDaniels
- 26:19Speaker 1: had only shot like he was like oero for one
- 26:22Speaker 1: or whatever. Ant did hit his first three sometime late
- 26:27Speaker 1: in that second quarter. Phoenix had the lead. Randall had
- 26:31Speaker 1: like sixteen points. There was a late three from Dante
- 26:35Speaker 1: and and Phoenix was up, you know, somewhat cleanly. I
- 26:39Speaker 1: think it was like fifty one to forty four or
- 26:42Speaker 1: something like that. Yeah, I think that's what it was.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And it was kind of kind of back and forth.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Ant started to really pick it up, definitely hit a three,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and I think that's when he he broke the single
- 26:58Speaker 1: season record. So that was pretty pretty big. Timbros overtake
- 27:03Speaker 1: the lead. It was there. They were up sixty eight
- 27:06Speaker 1: sixty four under seven minutes of the third. That was
- 27:09Speaker 1: their first lead since too. Oh Nas at that time
- 27:13Speaker 1: was still oh for nine. It was crazy man, and
- 27:17Speaker 1: Dante just went off. I mean, he really really went
- 27:23Speaker 1: crazy that game. Yeah, I mean that was that was phenomenal.
- 27:28Speaker 1: So we we got a nice little lead. I think
- 27:30Speaker 1: it was a twenty five to seven run and it
- 27:32Speaker 1: was eighty to sixty seven. Randall did pick up some
- 27:35Speaker 1: I think his fourth foul somewhere in the third got
- 27:39Speaker 1: a little sloppy, Na stepped out of bounce, Alexander Walker
- 27:45Speaker 1: lost his dribble. But Dante, like I said, was he
- 27:49Speaker 1: had seven threes at the time and it was eighty
- 27:51Speaker 1: three to seventy two, so he was really helping us there. Man.
- 27:55Speaker 1: You know, that was huge. And he had this stat
- 27:59Speaker 1: that I'm actually trying to find again. He had this
- 28:02Speaker 1: crazy stat that was just I can't remember exactly what
- 28:07Speaker 1: it was, but it was nuts, man. It was. It's like,
- 28:11Speaker 1: I don't think it had been done in the history
- 28:15Speaker 1: of the of the Timberwolves. Shoot where did I thought
- 28:21Speaker 1: I screenshot that? But I guess not. Anyway, he went off,
- 28:25Speaker 1: he got a bunch of it was like most three
- 28:28Speaker 1: pointers N steels type stats. You know, Like I said,
- 28:31Speaker 1: I just can't remember exactly what the hell that was.
- 28:35Speaker 1: But Nas finally hit a three early fourth. Comly, it
- 28:42Speaker 1: seems like he's falling more. Man, overall, he quick he
- 28:45Speaker 1: picked up early falls and then he picked up two
- 28:48Speaker 1: quick falls. In the fourth he had five. Overall, maybe
- 28:51Speaker 1: he's just slowing down. Man. You know, he doesn't look
- 28:54Speaker 1: as bad as he did earlier this year. But yeah,
- 28:58Speaker 1: I think just something I don't know. Okay, So here
- 29:01Speaker 1: it was so first player with at least six threes
- 29:04Speaker 1: and five steals, second player in NBA history because Maxi
- 29:10Speaker 1: did it so and that was when he hit the record.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I think he had actually more. I think he ended
- 29:15Speaker 1: up with with more. But then they really, I mean
- 29:19Speaker 1: they started pulling away, man, they really did. Na's had
- 29:23Speaker 1: a or Nah had a really nice drive no look
- 29:26Speaker 1: pass for a randalled dunk and then McDaniels stole the
- 29:33Speaker 1: inbound pass and and finished and so it was ninety
- 29:37Speaker 1: five seventy eight. You know, Now the Suns made like
- 29:41Speaker 1: a fifteen nine to fifteen to nine to one, but
- 29:44Speaker 1: it ultimately it didn't matter. Had a bunch of points
- 29:47Speaker 1: off turnovers, so that you know that that was a
- 29:52Speaker 1: little rough, but and had you know, over forty I
- 29:55Speaker 1: think Dante had eight threes or something like that, and
- 29:59Speaker 1: it de Vincenzo tried to do a little bounce oop
- 30:03Speaker 1: to aunt and he got followed. And you know, I'm
- 30:07Speaker 1: okay with Bradley Beal doing that. I'm okay with with Ant. Well,
- 30:16Speaker 1: it's Dante who did it. I'm okay with Dante doing it.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I'm okay with Nah, dude, you guys are kicking our ass.
- 30:22Speaker 1: You don't need to do the extra Harlem globe shrouder
- 30:26Speaker 1: stuff on us. We're not going to allow that. Remember
- 30:28Speaker 1: last year when McDaniels at the end of the game,
- 30:32Speaker 1: I think it was the end of the series, was it.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I think it was the Denver. I wanted to say Phoenix,
- 30:37Speaker 1: but I think it was Denver. He tried to freaking
- 30:40Speaker 1: just go crazy dunk on it. See, I don't mind
- 30:42Speaker 1: that stuff, the sportsmanship, ship stuff. Some people have a
- 30:46Speaker 1: problem with that, but I don't have a problem with
- 30:48Speaker 1: either doing a little highlight real bounce oop. Okay, do it,
- 30:53Speaker 1: man who cares. But also on that same in that
- 30:56Speaker 1: same breath, Bradley Bill said, no, dude, and I don't
- 30:59Speaker 1: mind that either. You could say it's a cheap shot,
- 31:01Speaker 1: but it's kind of a cheap shot to do it too,
- 31:05Speaker 1: So I'm good. I'm good either way. Man, I gotta
- 31:09Speaker 1: admit I was just fine with that. I thought it
- 31:11Speaker 1: was hilarious actually, And I like that because you know,
- 31:16Speaker 1: Bradley Beal still has a little bit of pride, like, no, dude,
- 31:20Speaker 1: you're not You're not gonna do it. Man, You're not
- 31:22Speaker 1: gonna do it. But yeah, Dante had twenty four Julius
- 31:25Speaker 1: at twenty and had a seven assists forty four points.
- 31:29Speaker 1: So it was, you know, it was something. It was something.
- 31:34Speaker 1: And this is when a lot of folks were starting
- 31:37Speaker 1: to say, you know, we need de Vincenzo in the
- 31:40Speaker 1: starting lineup, but I and I agree, But he's been
- 31:44Speaker 1: on a minute's restriction, so I think once it might
- 31:48Speaker 1: be in this next game that he's off. Once he's
- 31:51Speaker 1: off of it, I do believe he'll go back in
- 31:53Speaker 1: the starting linet, and not just because he's playing great,
- 31:57Speaker 1: but it had already he had already entered the starting
- 32:03Speaker 1: linet before he got hurt. And it's like I said,
- 32:06Speaker 1: it's not like Conley is majorly improved, you know, and
- 32:13Speaker 1: you know Conley or Rob. Now let's say that it
- 32:18Speaker 1: does happen, Dante's are starting almost like quarterback point guard point,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you know, whatever kind of a point guard. Do you
- 32:29Speaker 1: bring Rob off the bench and not Conley? A lot
- 32:33Speaker 1: of people have been talking about this to the point,
- 32:36Speaker 1: like I mentioned that they didn't even want Conley plan
- 32:40Speaker 1: when Dante was hurt, which is just ridiculous, and it's
- 32:43Speaker 1: such like a like, I don't mind if it's a
- 32:47Speaker 1: fan saying that, but if you're a media mentor or
- 32:49Speaker 1: a part time media member, like seriously did so, you
- 32:54Speaker 1: don't want to play Conley when Dante was out, like
- 32:57Speaker 1: you could say Rob should start or what ever. But
- 33:03Speaker 1: I just think that the trust factors there, and especially
- 33:07Speaker 1: when Rudy goes back, hopefully they can pare them a
- 33:09Speaker 1: little bit better. My guess is they will. You know,
- 33:15Speaker 1: maybe they can do what they did with Cat and
- 33:19Speaker 1: take them out, take Rudy out earlier of the starting lineup,
- 33:23Speaker 1: and then have them come back, and then you can
- 33:25Speaker 1: run that Randall in nos for a little bit, right,
- 33:28Speaker 1: And then when you bring him back, you you, you know,
- 33:36Speaker 1: you bring him back a little early since you took
- 33:37Speaker 1: him out, and then that gives him and Conley more
- 33:40Speaker 1: time to play together. So I don't know, excuse me,
- 33:45Speaker 1: We'll see how that goes. John did have a tweet
- 33:51Speaker 1: the Wolves in January with rand Over ten and six
- 33:54Speaker 1: they were fifth in offensive rating tenth and defensive rating
- 33:57Speaker 1: net six point three, which was fourth. And the Wolves
- 34:01Speaker 1: in February without rand Over five and eight. They're often struggled. Actually,
- 34:08Speaker 1: and this is just months here. It's not the whole thing,
- 34:11Speaker 1: the whole gamut. But they were one fourteen and a
- 34:14Speaker 1: half fifteenth in the league for offensive rating and defense
- 34:18Speaker 1: was thirteen, and then net rating was tenth at one
- 34:21Speaker 1: point two. So you know, these are short stuff. You know,
- 34:28Speaker 1: this is short, short things, is not you know, over
- 34:32Speaker 1: thirty or forty games. But it's just kind of reiterating
- 34:36Speaker 1: that you cannot like Randall, that's fine, but we still
- 34:41Speaker 1: need him this year, you know. And that's kind of
- 34:45Speaker 1: the point I'm trying to draw it. And I was
- 34:48Speaker 1: saying that prior to before he came back. Charlie Walton,
- 34:53Speaker 1: who's a great follow on Twitter, he said, Phoenix swept
- 34:58Speaker 1: Minnesota three oh three to zero with a forty seven
- 35:04Speaker 1: point differential last year in the regular season and through
- 35:08Speaker 1: the playoffs, and now this year they've they've gone seven
- 35:12Speaker 1: and now, yeah, it's been it's been crazy, man, It's
- 35:15Speaker 1: been really crazy. And you know, and like I said,
- 35:19Speaker 1: set that three point record. Here's all ants is stat news.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Most career threes in franchise history, most threes in the season,
- 35:30Speaker 1: most thirty five to five games, most career forty point games,
- 35:36Speaker 1: most forty point games in a season, and most career
- 35:39Speaker 1: forty five point games. And that's kind of a weird
- 35:41Speaker 1: to go from most career forty to forty five. That's
- 35:45Speaker 1: a little bit weird of a stat But yeah, man,
- 35:47Speaker 1: he's doing his thing, right, He's doing his thing. Man
- 35:51Speaker 1: in Britain also pointed out, you know, down the stretch
- 35:56Speaker 1: the Wolves have finished regular season playing against the teams
- 36:01Speaker 1: of the five best wreckers now, so you know, we
- 36:06Speaker 1: know that the schedule's a little lighter, but yeah, we
- 36:08Speaker 1: don't play that marquee many I should say marquee matchups
- 36:15Speaker 1: and a lot of it, you know. I mean, don't
- 36:17Speaker 1: get me wrong, Denver, it is right there, you know.
- 36:20Speaker 1: So I'm not going to get too bent out of
- 36:23Speaker 1: shape when it comes to that when I'll tell you that.
- 36:25Speaker 1: But anyway, then Charlotte right, kind of a mediocre start.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Besides mcdanielsy had like nine quick points for six pretty early,
- 36:36Speaker 1: little mediocre start, pretty slow, but then they got it going,
- 36:41Speaker 1: started hitting some threes, get it going, and it was
- 36:43Speaker 1: like twenty four to fourteen, and I think there were
- 36:47Speaker 1: six or thirteen in the in the first from three,
- 36:50Speaker 1: they got all the way up to thirty nine twenty eight.
- 36:54Speaker 1: The Wolves did and Ant missed this dunk down the
- 37:00Speaker 1: lane that would have just been nasty in the second quarter,
- 37:05Speaker 1: but they're up by ten. Midway through and halftime it
- 37:10Speaker 1: was sixty five to fifty eight. Four players had at
- 37:13Speaker 1: least twelve points, so very spread offense and leading the
- 37:17Speaker 1: way with eighteen points. McDaniel was going nuts, though, and
- 37:22Speaker 1: right after he hit a three with seven mets seven minutes,
- 37:26Speaker 1: seven minutes remaining to make it seventy nine and seventy
- 37:30Speaker 1: he was up to twenty five points and excuse me,
- 37:35Speaker 1: and had this beautiful baseline reverse layup and points off turnover.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Turnovers were fifteen to zero in favor of the two rules. Sorry,
- 37:48Speaker 1: I had to get a little water there. So it
- 37:50Speaker 1: was eighty six seventy two. Things are looking really good,
- 37:54Speaker 1: and I think they they closed out ninety seven to
- 37:58Speaker 1: eighty three. Curry this late three that's been happening a
- 38:02Speaker 1: lot lately at the end of quarters. So it was
- 38:06Speaker 1: one O seven eighty five. You're looking like we got
- 38:08Speaker 1: this in the bag. And Charlotte made this like twelve
- 38:13Speaker 1: five run. They were getting easy buckets right to the
- 38:16Speaker 1: lane like hey, man, like a turncoat, like hey do
- 38:19Speaker 1: you want it? You want the lane? Gohead, take it, man,
- 38:22Speaker 1: And it was another eight to three running and next
- 38:24Speaker 1: thing you know, it's it's a ten point game and
- 38:27Speaker 1: you're thinking, oh shit, here we go. But Ant did
- 38:31Speaker 1: hit a transition three, Dante hit another three. Like I said,
- 38:36Speaker 1: not a great way to close out the game, but
- 38:40Speaker 1: they won the game. You know, style points, that's great,
- 38:44Speaker 1: but I'm not big on style points. They closed it out.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Wasn't pretty, but they got it done. That was that
- 38:51Speaker 1: was the key. So that kind of wraps up some
- 38:54Speaker 1: of the notes and all that. You know, I wonder
- 38:58Speaker 1: how many times we're gonna get ten deep, you know,
- 39:03Speaker 1: because that's what Finch is saying. Like I said, I
- 39:06Speaker 1: I think Rob is just gonna not play as many
- 39:08Speaker 1: minutes and he's gonna go with Conley. I just believe
- 39:12Speaker 1: that Conley is playing better, but not to the point maybe,
- 39:17Speaker 1: you know, but I still think they're gonna go with
- 39:20Speaker 1: Conley just off experience. Yeah, man, I mean, I can't
- 39:26Speaker 1: say enough about McDaniels man. He really hasn't gotten this
- 39:30Speaker 1: three together all the way. But it doesn't matter. Like
- 39:35Speaker 1: and a lot of people have pointed out now that
- 39:37Speaker 1: he's off the ball defensively more anyway, that he has
- 39:41Speaker 1: more energy overall. But his minigame, man, his mid game,
- 39:46Speaker 1: it's just a thing of beauty. And that's what he's
- 39:51Speaker 1: got to stick to. Yeah, you know, if you got
- 39:53Speaker 1: to go and hit three, but if you're over four,
- 39:57Speaker 1: switch it up, you know. But it will be interesting
- 40:01Speaker 1: as you play better teams and once the playoffs starts,
- 40:07Speaker 1: you know, will they allow him, you know, to to
- 40:12Speaker 1: have the mid range game if they purposely in the
- 40:16Speaker 1: defense lead mopeen from three, you know, turning down the
- 40:23Speaker 1: three when it's wide open, like if they're running out
- 40:26Speaker 1: to you but they stop short. That could limit what
- 40:29Speaker 1: he could do in the mid range. Kind of matters
- 40:31Speaker 1: the defender obviously, but that'll be interesting to see. But
- 40:34Speaker 1: right now, McDaniels man, he's playing the best basketball of
- 40:37Speaker 1: his career. There's just no way you know about it.
- 40:41Speaker 1: And then you know, as far as Rudy coming back,
- 40:45Speaker 1: wouldn't they bring him off the bench. Maybe they're planning
- 40:48Speaker 1: it just perfectly, you know, or at least it'll work
- 40:53Speaker 1: perfect if he's out of minutes' restriction, which I don't
- 40:57Speaker 1: know if he will be, But maybe they would bring
- 41:02Speaker 1: him off the bench because it is easier to limit
- 41:04Speaker 1: you know, minutes off the bench obviously rather than starting.
- 41:07Speaker 1: So maybe they would put de Vincenzo in the starting
- 41:13Speaker 1: lineup and keep it how it's been and bring Rudy
- 41:17Speaker 1: and calmly off the bench. It's a possibility. Now, how
- 41:20Speaker 1: long would Rudy come off the bench? That's probably what
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm focused on the most. I don't I think he'll
- 41:28Speaker 1: be in the starting land and I know that that
- 41:32Speaker 1: can clog up the offense, no doubt about it, you know.
- 41:37Speaker 1: So we'll see, we'll see how it all all plays out.
- 41:43Speaker 1: The positive thing is the NAS prior to the injury,
- 41:48Speaker 1: and so far a few games in, you know, the
- 41:53Speaker 1: NAS at four and the random left five has been
- 41:57Speaker 1: pretty good. It's been pretty good. It does have its issues,
- 42:00Speaker 1: is matchup and all that, but I like that we
- 42:03Speaker 1: can go to it. And that's really that's really what
- 42:06Speaker 1: it's all about, you know, is going to certain lineups
- 42:10Speaker 1: when you need him. And that's that comes down to
- 42:13Speaker 1: big games in the regular season, a lot of you know,
- 42:16Speaker 1: obviously important games coming up, no matter who you know,
- 42:22Speaker 1: we're we're playing right, and then in a in a series,
- 42:28Speaker 1: you really need that. You need to be versatile, you
- 42:30Speaker 1: need to you know, be able to do it. So
- 42:35Speaker 1: you know, it's funny because Ant has played really well.
- 42:43Speaker 1: But the one thing I'll say of in recent games
- 42:49Speaker 1: his turnovers, Like in March, so far as turnovers are
- 42:51Speaker 1: pretty contained. Actually he was on a little bit of
- 42:55Speaker 1: a turnover thing. But I'd say that his field goal
- 43:01Speaker 1: percentage has been slipping. But other than that, for the
- 43:08Speaker 1: most part, he's been playing great, especially offensively overall, you
- 43:16Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like he'll get some assistem nights,
- 43:19Speaker 1: he'll get more rebounds than he's had in the past.
- 43:25Speaker 1: His three ball is still at a high level, and
- 43:30Speaker 1: we knew he wasn't gonna be able to keep that pace.
- 43:32Speaker 1: It has fallen down as far as the last chunk
- 43:36Speaker 1: of games, ten games or whatever, but overall it's still
- 43:41Speaker 1: a high percentage. So but he's he's been pretty damn good.
- 43:46Speaker 1: He's just gotta contain the text and part of the
- 43:53Speaker 1: thing is that when the ball's like live and the
- 43:56Speaker 1: game is still going on. I keep saying this about
- 44:00Speaker 1: don't fucking argue with the ref. Run back on defense.
- 44:04Speaker 1: And we saw it, I think two games ago, where
- 44:07Speaker 1: he started arguing and finish that get back on defense, dude.
- 44:11Speaker 1: He got off the you know, his chair and was like,
- 44:13Speaker 1: get back on defense. You know. Like, like I said, dude,
- 44:16Speaker 1: there's so much dead time in a basketball game, so
- 44:20Speaker 1: many whistles that you can address it when at the
- 44:24Speaker 1: right time. I'm not saying, you know, something that happened
- 44:28Speaker 1: in the second quarter, late third you're like, hey, dude,
- 44:30Speaker 1: do you remember you know, I'm not saying that, but
- 44:33Speaker 1: like I just not, dude. Can't happen. And then, you
- 44:39Speaker 1: know what else can't happen. No more room for bad
- 44:42Speaker 1: losses under five hundred, especially teams that are you know,
- 44:49Speaker 1: very much so under five hundred and very much are
- 44:52Speaker 1: looking at their draft right draft order. Just mediocre teams
- 44:59Speaker 1: ports just no more. No can't do it. And the
- 45:03Speaker 1: five hundred is kind of weird because there are some
- 45:05Speaker 1: pretty decent teams that are just above five hundred to
- 45:08Speaker 1: below it that might be tough, but if they beat you,
- 45:14Speaker 1: they got to hit like you know, sixteen eighteen, twenty
- 45:20Speaker 1: threes or something like. You know what I mean to
- 45:22Speaker 1: where it's like, all right, dude, there's not much he
- 45:23Speaker 1: could do. We didn't play bad, they just played great.
- 45:27Speaker 1: And Nas lately has been cool. He's been a little
- 45:30Speaker 1: inconsistent these last five games. Since the last time I
- 45:35Speaker 1: did a POD, He's had thirteen, twenty three, seven, twenty seven,
- 45:39Speaker 1: and then three, so his three has definitely been falling off,
- 45:44Speaker 1: so it's a little bit uneven, but he's still had
- 45:47Speaker 1: some really solid games. I just say, I just say
- 45:50Speaker 1: he's a little inconsistent right now, but he's had some
- 45:52Speaker 1: solid games though still, and he can still do stuff
- 45:56Speaker 1: on defense and all that. As I'm mentioned kind of
- 46:00Speaker 1: looking through my notes here, Shannon man like he fits
- 46:05Speaker 1: the team long term. Man the versatility I think he
- 46:09Speaker 1: can you know, play the three in the four a
- 46:12Speaker 1: little bit, the speed, the explosiveness to the rack, like
- 46:18Speaker 1: the length he can move his feet, good deef defender.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Only going to get better at that. So I'm really
- 46:24Speaker 1: you know, we've talked about Clark and we've talked about
- 46:27Speaker 1: doing him, but we really started to kind of start
- 46:31Speaker 1: focusing on Shannon even more. This guy is ready to go,
- 46:35Speaker 1: and yeah, I just wanted to reiterate that. I guess
- 46:42Speaker 1: I really like him as a player, man, really really
- 46:46Speaker 1: like him. Let's see here. So, like I mentioned, there
- 46:55Speaker 1: is only two back to backs remaining, So coming up,
- 47:04Speaker 1: we when I say we get Setimberwolves, We're at Miami
- 47:08Speaker 1: on Friday Tomorrow night, then Sunday home San Antonio, which
- 47:13Speaker 1: we know that's not the same San Antonio, and then Wednesday.
- 47:17Speaker 1: So look at that two day breaks right there at
- 47:21Speaker 1: Denver and then a day off and then Friday home
- 47:26Speaker 1: against Orlando and Sunday home against Utah. And so I
- 47:32Speaker 1: think I'm going to do after that Utah game. I
- 47:37Speaker 1: think I'm going to do once unless something comes up.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna do a podcast. That'll be my
- 47:42Speaker 1: next podcast, So not this Sunday, but next Sunday. So
- 47:46Speaker 1: let's I was gonna do another one Thursday, but it'll
- 47:49Speaker 1: only be three games, so I figure one, two, three, four,
- 47:53Speaker 1: five games I'll let go by and then we do
- 47:56Speaker 1: have our first mentioned back to back. We do our
- 47:59Speaker 1: first back to I got for that, but I mean
- 48:01Speaker 1: then there's one later, so you know, looking at this
- 48:09Speaker 1: Obviously at Denver is gonna be tough. At Miami's gonna
- 48:14Speaker 1: be scrappy. Gotta beat San Antonio, gotta beat Utah. I mean,
- 48:22Speaker 1: I really think we're gonna beat Utah just because well
- 48:25Speaker 1: they just beat us, you know, and we got We
- 48:28Speaker 1: can't let that go. Obviously we didn't have aunt. But
- 48:32Speaker 1: so San Antonio in Utah I kind of count as
- 48:36Speaker 1: wins at Miami is gonna be tough. Orlando at home.
- 48:40Speaker 1: We haven't been playing great at home. Hopefully we improve that, hmm.
- 48:49Speaker 1: So I count Denver as a loss, so one two, three,
- 48:52Speaker 1: so I would say at least three and two. Part
- 48:57Speaker 1: of me wants to say four and one. It's much
- 49:00Speaker 1: easier to know what happens in that Miami game. And
- 49:04Speaker 1: I'll just say it like this. If we beat Miami,
- 49:07Speaker 1: I think we go four in one. If we lose
- 49:10Speaker 1: to Miami, then I think we'll go three in two
- 49:13Speaker 1: because Orlando is at home. But I don't I don't
- 49:15Speaker 1: think it's gonna be I'd have to look at their
- 49:18Speaker 1: injury report, which I don't have in front of me. Actually,
- 49:23Speaker 1: let me let me see if there's and obviously that's
- 49:28Speaker 1: you know a little over a week away. But they're
- 49:32Speaker 1: twenty nine and thirty four. They are banged up obviously
- 49:41Speaker 1: trying to look like would Jonathan Isaac be back by
- 49:47Speaker 1: that time. I don't know, but you know with Suggs
- 49:49Speaker 1: and Wagner. So yeah, I'm gonna go four in one.
- 49:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna go for and one. I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 49:57Speaker 1: I went three and two, I'm gonna go for and one.
- 50:02Speaker 1: But like I said, four and one will be in
- 50:04Speaker 1: the bank in my opinion if we beat Miami. If
- 50:07Speaker 1: we lose, then a three and two. But you know,
- 50:11Speaker 1: maybe it's just like the timber Wolves to lose to
- 50:13Speaker 1: Miami and then turn around and win, you know at Denver.
- 50:18Speaker 1: You know, that's just how it goes. Sometimes. That's just
- 50:21Speaker 1: this club man, right. But yeah, so that that's kind
- 50:26Speaker 1: of what I'm thinking for the upcoming schedule. And then
- 50:36Speaker 1: I had a little I want to follow up because
- 50:39Speaker 1: some some folks at message being I appreciate it even
- 50:42Speaker 1: if we agree or disagree or meet halfway or whatever.
- 50:46Speaker 1: I always like, you know, hearing folks. And it was
- 50:52Speaker 1: kind of on Durant, right, and I said that I
- 50:59Speaker 1: don't know, well today this Evan dude on Twitter. He said,
- 51:05Speaker 1: although the Timberwolves are over the second apron, they could
- 51:08Speaker 1: send out the following players to dip below the second
- 51:12Speaker 1: apron in a in a trade for Durant, he said, Randall, McDaniels,
- 51:17Speaker 1: Deevencenzo and Rob for Phoenix. They would need a third
- 51:20Speaker 1: team to take on Randall and Howls and Horn said
- 51:25Speaker 1: thirty mil Julius, which.
- 51:27Speaker 2: That's they'd I think they'd want to sign. They'd have
- 51:39Speaker 2: to want to sign uh Randall for at least three
- 51:45Speaker 2: or four years. He was soon at least three maybe four,
- 51:50Speaker 2: because they're they're not gonna unless they think they can
- 51:53Speaker 2: get them and then move them and then they like
- 51:55Speaker 2: other folks. But he said, Julius thirty mil, which I'm
- 51:59Speaker 2: not like, that's what he's supposed to make on that option.
- 52:03Speaker 2: But that's a player option.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Jayden twenty five, Dante twelve, and Rob six, and you
- 52:09Speaker 1: know KD is fifty four million. He said that The
- 52:13Speaker 1: math a math, and that's why I kind of just
- 52:15Speaker 1: went with the lazy Jaden and Julius thing for that
- 52:19Speaker 1: in the first round pick and whatever. And I do
- 52:22Speaker 1: think there'd have to be at least another team if
- 52:24Speaker 1: not another team in there, and maybe it would be
- 52:27Speaker 1: Julius Jayden and then some other pieces in there. I
- 52:32Speaker 1: don't know, but yeah, I mean that right there, Julius, Jayden,
- 52:36Speaker 1: Dante and Rob for KD. I wouldn't do that. That
- 52:39Speaker 1: doesn't line up. I think you'd at least need another team.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I don't think that lines up because you can't. You
- 52:48Speaker 1: know something that I many things I like about the NBA,
- 52:52Speaker 1: the the way they do it. If you if you
- 52:54Speaker 1: draft somebody or have their rights, you can offer them
- 52:57Speaker 1: the most money. You know, the Lakers got to steal
- 53:01Speaker 1: with Luca new because what was it one hundred over
- 53:03Speaker 1: one hundred I think it was one hundred and twenty
- 53:05Speaker 1: million less now over his next deal. So my point
- 53:13Speaker 1: is that if nas is in the starting lineup next year,
- 53:21Speaker 1: I think it's two things. And they mentioned on ESPN
- 53:26Speaker 1: that you know, Minnesota is maybe an option, And honestly, realistically,
- 53:33Speaker 1: for Durant, I think he'd really want to be here.
- 53:38Speaker 1: That's really the only trade. The way the trade goes through,
- 53:43Speaker 1: like he'd like basically, he'd play in subordinate and once
- 53:47Speaker 1: someone says I'm not going there, like not here, but
- 53:51Speaker 1: other places, I'm not going there, then that hurts the
- 53:55Speaker 1: team's leverage. So he could play in subordinate and say
- 53:58Speaker 1: get me to move to Minnesota. Now is he gonna say,
- 54:01Speaker 1: get me to Minnesota? I don't know. And then do
- 54:04Speaker 1: they want Randall? Maybe they get Randall like I mentioned,
- 54:07Speaker 1: and then trade them as well and swap them. Maybe.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I just I don't realistically,
- 54:15Speaker 1: you know, I think it'll happen unless it is Durant saying.
- 54:20Speaker 1: And that's why the whole Durant thing. If you're gonna
- 54:24Speaker 1: if you if you had to get rid of McDaniels,
- 54:28Speaker 1: which he's playing really good right now, you know you
- 54:34Speaker 1: gotta give to get when you're talking about Durant, and
- 54:36Speaker 1: yeah he's older, but if he could get a few
- 54:38Speaker 1: years out of two three years more of what he
- 54:41Speaker 1: can do right now, like I said, having my point
- 54:46Speaker 1: is with Nas, going back to that Nas in the
- 54:49Speaker 1: starting lineup, so you have Rudy Nas, Durant Ant, and
- 54:55Speaker 1: then somebody that's somebody you don't know who it would be.
- 55:00Speaker 1: You know, ideally Alexander Walker would be phenomenal there because
- 55:04Speaker 1: I think Durant can be the ball handler and be okay,
- 55:08Speaker 1: and so can Nas to an extenter at least bring
- 55:10Speaker 1: the ball up. And then Alexander Walker can bring the
- 55:15Speaker 1: ball up too, but he does you know he can
- 55:16Speaker 1: play that. You know he's been in the starting line
- 55:20Speaker 1: He's not a point guard obviously, but you wouldn't have
- 55:22Speaker 1: a point guard there. But I think those four and
- 55:26Speaker 1: those four are pretty much knockdown shooters from three. So though,
- 55:30Speaker 1: having four knockdown shooters and two guys that can really
- 55:35Speaker 1: get their offense with and Durant and say with Nas, really,
- 55:39Speaker 1: you know, I would have to see what the trade
- 55:44Speaker 1: was obviously right, but I wouldn't be like, nah, dude,
- 55:50Speaker 1: we got to go with the big three and Nas
- 55:53Speaker 1: and McDaniels. I don't want to do that. I wouldn't
- 55:56Speaker 1: be disappointed with that trade. Now, do I think the
- 55:58Speaker 1: other realistic thing that would happen to get Nas in
- 56:01Speaker 1: the lineup? We trade Randall, maybe another piece, but we
- 56:06Speaker 1: trade Randall for two solid bench players, one of them
- 56:10Speaker 1: obviously being a big. Because you're gonna put Nas in
- 56:12Speaker 1: the starting lineup, you know, you clearly have to have
- 56:17Speaker 1: another big off the bench, not just Luke Garton, so
- 56:23Speaker 1: Luca Garta. So that that's probably you know, you gotta
- 56:29Speaker 1: let this ship play out, right, just like you. I'm
- 56:32Speaker 1: glad they didn't trade Randall because they had to let
- 56:36Speaker 1: this stuff play out. So I think you gotta let
- 56:38Speaker 1: it play out anyway, because you just never know. You
- 56:42Speaker 1: never know what kind of success they're gonna have or
- 56:45Speaker 1: not have in the playoffs, if they get back to
- 56:49Speaker 1: a conference final, you got you got a lot, you know,
- 56:52Speaker 1: you got a lot of problems, but it's a good
- 56:55Speaker 1: good those are good problems, you know, to make the decisions.
- 56:59Speaker 1: But if I had to guess, I would say, you know,
- 57:06Speaker 1: Nas would be in the starring lineup and Devincenzo would
- 57:10Speaker 1: be in the starring lineup. So you have Devincenzo aunt
- 57:13Speaker 1: McDaniel's Nas go bear, and then you'd have a big
- 57:17Speaker 1: off the bench that you got in the Randall trade.
- 57:19Speaker 1: And then you're fairly guard heavy. Right now, you're gonna
- 57:25Speaker 1: have another year Conley, you're fairly guard heavy. So maybe
- 57:31Speaker 1: maybe a guy that can play smaller ford and power
- 57:34Speaker 1: forward as well. Obviously that's probably Shannon though, so I
- 57:37Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know exactly what you do there.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Whereas if Devincenzo's still on the team. I don't like,
- 57:46Speaker 1: if we got Durant, I think you could bring him
- 57:48Speaker 1: off the bench at that point. I don't think you'd
- 57:50Speaker 1: need Devincenzo the starting lineup at that point. But that's
- 57:53Speaker 1: just speculation. And so I followed up there. That's all
- 57:58Speaker 1: I'm saying. I'm not saying we have to If we
- 57:59Speaker 1: don't make the Durant trade, fuck it, you know. But
- 58:02Speaker 1: that that's that's my guess, is they get like kind
- 58:07Speaker 1: of what Dallas did. Two separate times. They've made trades
- 58:10Speaker 1: that people were like, eh, but it made him better overall,
- 58:13Speaker 1: it made him better defensively. Then the last two trades
- 58:18Speaker 1: they made, like prior to Luca Levy, they've had two
- 58:22Speaker 1: years where they got better defensively. Right last year during
- 58:27Speaker 1: the season, they want that good defense, right, Yeah, Kyrie,
- 58:31Speaker 1: that might be an issue, and they made a trade
- 58:32Speaker 1: and boom, you know. So and then the other thing
- 58:37Speaker 1: was the nas thing of me saying that the eight
- 58:41Speaker 1: and three mark really didn't mean as much as some
- 58:44Speaker 1: folks were saying. And I did get some pushback on that,
- 58:49Speaker 1: and I admitted or not admitted, but because you know,
- 58:53Speaker 1: facts are facts, right, But I was saying, like I
- 58:58Speaker 1: don't think like if you look back at that, right,
- 59:01Speaker 1: if you look back at that run, eight and three
- 59:06Speaker 1: was awesome. Dude. I'm not saying it's not right. I'm
- 59:08Speaker 1: not saying it's not It was. It definitely was. But
- 59:14Speaker 1: you know, we this is this is what I was saying.
- 59:17Speaker 1: If you're gonna take eleven games and then you're saying, man,
- 59:21Speaker 1: how are we going to bring cat back? Oh my god,
- 59:24Speaker 1: this is such a huge deal. I don't know, how
- 59:27Speaker 1: can he come off the bench, you know that type
- 59:29Speaker 1: of thing, or multiple media members said they shouldn't even
- 59:33Speaker 1: bring him back for the series or late in the
- 59:35Speaker 1: series against Phoenix. I even heard like part time media
- 59:40Speaker 1: members like I mentioned earlier today on the show, like saying, oh, dude, like,
- 59:45Speaker 1: let's not play him. We're better without him. Let's not
- 59:48Speaker 1: play him, and so he doesn't get hurt. We can
- 59:50Speaker 1: trade him, you know. And it's I disagreed with all that.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I just thought it was a little overweighted. And here's why. Okay,
- 59:58Speaker 1: so we won a game against Cleveland, and we lost
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: the game against Cleveland in that eleven three run. Now,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: in both games they did not have Donovan Mitchell. Pretty
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: sure you've heard of him and then Mobley as well,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: so you're looking at some of their top player, and
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: then whereas Mobley is your second best or fourth best
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: or however you wherever you put them, they didn't play
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: him both times, so you could actually say one's more
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: of a maybe a bad loss if we're making a
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: big deal out of eight and three, which was good.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Backing it up though, real quick. The eight and three
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: is awesome, but remember the context is we were the
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: number one seed for a good chunk of the year,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: so it's not like we were like four games over
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: five hundred nas gets in the line of ban three dud.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Holy shit, you know that. That's that's kind of my
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: point too. Now, in that time, we we we faced
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Golden State. I thought that was probably the best That
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: was probably the best win of that run Golden State
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: because they had their lineup, right, they had their lineup.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: So we beat Golden State. We beat Detroit, which you know,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Detroit's not Detroit this year, right, We beat a young,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: kind of struggling Houston team at that time, and some
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: folks are making a big deal we bet we beat
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Denver and lost to Denver, right, But we beat Denver
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: right without Murray. Murray didn't play, so yeah, we beat him,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: you know, one to eleven ninety eight. It's a great
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: win no matter what. We've seen them have solid regular
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: seasons without Murray in the past. But remember we we
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: beat them, sure, but they didn't have Murray. That is
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: a difference, you know, and of course we'd have Kap
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: but that's my whole point. So you know, anyway, then
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: we then we beat the Lakers, right, Cool. Problem is
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Lebron didn't play. Lebron played zero minutes and that's the game.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Davis left after playing twelve minutes. So the whole second
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: half they never had Lebron and they didn't have a
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: d And that's all. That's all. So, like I said,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: if we're gonna talk about that eight and three, cool,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: that's that's all I was saying last year, and I
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: was I was comparing it to what people were hyping
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: up this year because they kept saying, oh man, it
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: just looks prettier, it's funner. And it's not just that,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: because they do have to play the ball moving, you know,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: they do have to play the flow. It was flowing,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: no doubt about it. The flow was flowing better, and
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: it felt like we were making strides, but we weren't
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: on the record, and so now we're gonna make a
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: case even though we're not. We don't have a winning record.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: We're five and eight during that time without Randall. That's
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: all I'm saying. It's like, let's not overdo it because
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: you'll it's pretty That's all I'm saying. And that I
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: wasn't trying to rip apart that eight and three, but
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: clearly and for those games it we had advanced. You know,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: it wasn't their full team. Now we didn't have cat either,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: but that was my point, you know, that's all. Oh yeah,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: So the Gophers, you know, they they did beat Nebraska,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: hit like a shot with what four seconds left or
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: something like that. So that was that was cool. That
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: was very cool. They were leading in that game. It
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: was like they were up by a lot, like a
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: fair amount, and they let him get back in that game.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: They were up even with eleven twenty eight to go,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: they were up fifty two to forty four. Then it
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: was a two point lead. You knows, Rigsby, is that
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: what it is? Rigsy Brennan, He went off, dude, He
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: went off like he was doing his thing. And he
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: got I think he had twenty points hit that three.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: That was great. That was phenomenal. And it's their first
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: ever ever since they got that somewhat new arena, Pinnacle Bank,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: that's their first win there. That place can get rowdy considering,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: but yeah, I think he had twenty games Brennan and
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: then Ryan James said, you know, the Gophers this year
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: are the only the fifth Gopher team to win five
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Big ten Rogue games in the last fifty fucking years. Wow.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: After the game, Seth Davis said, you know, one of
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: the elite coaches talking about of course, our guy Ben Johnson,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: one of the elite coaches in one of the toughest
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: jobs in America. A lot of people were freaking out
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: about that, and he backed it up. He said, this
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: is why I call it one of the toughest jobs.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: He said, Minnesota has been the one final foreign history
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: and that required, you know, academic fraud. Fourteen attorney appearances
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: in eighty five years. That's a little bit more of
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: that living luluicro podcast name. Sixteen wins in attorney, tough league,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: brutal weather, outdated facilities, minimal n l I. I understand
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: fans want more but if you think the problem is
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: the coaches, respectfully disiagrees, and people are freaking out saying, well,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: you know, the weather, hold on, dude, because you know
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I was not warm, and either is Madison and all that.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I get it. I don't know, Tony Lybert said, you know,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I would say the fact that you're competing with the
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: top college hockey program for fans excitement. That's a little,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: but I don't know how much that is because they
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: rarely have Friday night games, not that they you know,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: they play Fridays and Saturdays mostly, and then four major
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: sports teams, which makes it harder. Uh. And I agree,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: if you're down, it makes it much harder there because
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: there is a lot of tension, you know. I will
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: say that, he said, Tubby Smith proved that Minnesota can
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: consistently compete for the Ends of the Way tournament. Uh.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: The school administration is just not And that's where that's
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: the thing about Ben Johnson. He can recruit his ass off,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I believe that, but he can't retain. But is the
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: retainment his fault? You know? And that's where I don't
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: think it is. And you know, we're supposed to have
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: more of it this year. So do you give him
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: one more year and see what he can do if
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: he can return folks. Marcus Fuller said, the last time
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: the Gophers won in Lincoln was when Nebraska still played
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: at a different arena back in February fifth, twenty twelve.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Tubby's big men Samson and License and Williams and Coleman
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: were the Minnesota guys. Holland's Holland. Oh yeah, Holland's boys
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: held in check. That's funny anyway. The one thing I'll
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: say is I really wish we had a little bit
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: more nl I this last offseason, right because if you
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: brought back that team, then you could really fully judge
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Ben Johnson. But he just doesn't bring a ton back. Now.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: We do have that Parker dude coming in. We got
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: some recruits coming in, but overall, we don't have a
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: lot of people coming back where that gets you overly excited.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: There is some, but not like last year if we
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: would have brought him back. I'm not saying there's not any,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: but it's just not the same, you know, example of
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: who they're going to bring back. That's all. So, I
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: don't know. It's a tough one. It's a tough one.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: They did play. Speaking a tough one, they did. They
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: did play tough against Wisconsin last night. I will say
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: that they had a chance to win. They missed some
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: free throws. Ben Johnson teams aren't good at free throws.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: But anyway, I'm just glad that, you know. I think
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: if you look at where they were supposed to finish,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: they did overachieve. I will say that, and Johnson actually
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: talked about that. So you could say with this team,
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: they overachieved. But it's not like Garcia can come back again. Now.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I don't know. This one's a tough one, man, But
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: if he had more money, I think he could bring
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: in another round of quality transfers. This is what he
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: said after he said, there's a lot of people that
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: didn't think that we're going to go to the tournament
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: in the big ten, because you know, you gotta finish
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: in the top fifteen. They could say they did, but
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: they did not. There was a lot of people saying,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: we wouldn't even win seven games, not even have a chance.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Last year we won nine. If I told you people
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: we had a chance to win eight, they would last
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: at me, calling me crazy. Talking about the character trade
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: and all that, and you know, I mean Marcus Fuller
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: also tweeted Ben Johnson, Gophers have seven quad wins right now,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: seven quad one. He said, they're in the Big Ten tournament,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: but not the NCAA tournament. Why because five quad two
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: losses by single digits and two quad three losses by
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: combined five points. And that's the thing. There was some
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: hiccups right there there. There definitely was hiccups. So I
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: don't know, like even last year, it looked pretty good
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, you know, it would
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: kind of fall apart and we'd lose like four in
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: a row. I just I don't know. It's really tough, man.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: It's it's tough because, like I mentioned, if we could
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: bring back most of the teammate CHRISTI win pro So
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: what are you gonna do about that? But the other
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: two guys, if we bring them back, mix it with
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: what we had and a lot in our starting lineup,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: with like four guys that played a lot together, you know,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: maybe we could have made the tournament this year. I
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: don't know, but uh, I think that's about it. Like
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: I said, I'll be back not this Sunday, but next Sunday.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: After five games. What did I call four and one,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Especially if they'd be Miami. I'm gonna go four and one.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna be a little bit more positive this week
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: instead of three and two. Anyway, I'm gonna get out
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: of here, enjoy the weekend and all that good stuff.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Hopefully we come back with good news on both fronts. Anyway,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: I'm out peace,
