- 0:05Speaker 1: My stylists made me wear those goofy ass song glasses.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Work.
- 0:10Speaker 3: You're feeling it cool, well, jockeyngratulations on a successful title
- 0:15Speaker 3: defense at heavyweight. So I guess you know, like you
- 0:18Speaker 3: talked at media day, fighting in Madison's Cork Garden was
- 0:21Speaker 3: important to you. Fighting in New York fighting stefe. So
- 0:24Speaker 3: now that you got through it in like such impressive fashion,
- 0:27Speaker 3: I guess what are the emotions now?
- 0:28Speaker 1: I feel really really great, and you know, I haven't
- 0:30Speaker 1: watched the fight yet, but based on my team's reactions,
- 0:35Speaker 1: you know that they said, John, you you performed, are
- 0:37Speaker 1: great being out there. You want things to go perfect,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and nothing ever goes perfect in the cage. You're not
- 0:41Speaker 1: going to land every shot. You're going to get hit.
- 0:45Speaker 1: But I feel really good. I just can't wait to
- 0:47Speaker 1: watch it.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It's hard to say what my reaction is.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You know, I've won a lot of world championships, so
- 0:52Speaker 1: this it's a very familiar feeling. But I am very
- 0:56Speaker 1: very grateful. I'm so grateful.
- 0:59Speaker 4: You Not everything goes perfect in there.
- 1:01Speaker 3: So I guess relative to what you the game plan
- 1:04Speaker 3: you guys put together and how it played out, is
- 1:06Speaker 3: that relatively how you saw it like the trip at
- 1:08Speaker 3: the beginning, the elbows, the twelve six we saw in there.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, the coaches, the coaches definitely wanted me
- 1:14Speaker 1: to find that twelve to six elbow. I wish I
- 1:16Speaker 1: could have landed more legit. Steve I did a really
- 1:19Speaker 1: good job with his defense and the bottom. The trip
- 1:24Speaker 1: was completely unexpected. It was It was a takedown that
- 1:27Speaker 1: just kind of came to me in the moment, and
- 1:29Speaker 1: I was grateful to have been able.
- 1:31Speaker 2: To pull that off.
- 1:34Speaker 1: One thing that I'm really excited about was that spinning
- 1:36Speaker 1: bat kick. That was the one thing I'm really excited about.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I have amazing coaches. Brandon Gibson, Greg Jackson, coach Alex
- 1:43Speaker 1: coach Aaron. I mean, I'm just naming some of my
- 1:47Speaker 1: striking coaches right now, but I really want to give
- 1:49Speaker 1: a shout out to my taekwondo coach, a guy named
- 1:52Speaker 1: Paige Baits from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His family owns Baits
- 1:56Speaker 1: Taekwondo and Albuquerque, New Mexico. We started about about six
- 2:00Speaker 1: months ago. We started doing the spinning bat cake. He
- 2:03Speaker 1: would come over my house three days a week and
- 2:06Speaker 1: I've worked that same kick from both stances three hours
- 2:12Speaker 1: a week for several months, and Bruce Lei says that
- 2:16Speaker 1: he doesn't fear the man that knows a thousand, ten
- 2:19Speaker 1: thousand kicks, but the man who has worked one kick
- 2:22Speaker 1: ten thousand times. And man, I put a lot of
- 2:26Speaker 1: work in with that spinning back cake and it's getting
- 2:30Speaker 1: faster and more unpredictable. There's really no tell when it's coming.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And it's a devastating shot. You know, I didn't hit
- 2:38Speaker 1: Stepe's liver. I hit him on the opposite side. But
- 2:42Speaker 1: I mean, it just it sends shot waves to a
- 2:43Speaker 1: person's body. It can break a rib. It's just a
- 2:46Speaker 1: really powerful shot. So I'm really proud of landing that
- 2:49Speaker 1: shot after so many hours of working a shout out to.
- 2:53Speaker 3: You page and then throughout the fight, especially at the beginning,
- 2:56Speaker 3: it looks like that job was really frustrating him, and
- 2:59Speaker 3: then the kicks to the just by the time you finished,
- 3:01Speaker 3: it looked like it had taken soul. He was getting
- 3:04Speaker 3: slower and slower and slower. Is that just the plan
- 3:06Speaker 3: to just like methodically break him down until he just
- 3:09Speaker 3: can't really element?
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, my goal was to h I want I really
- 3:15Speaker 1: wanted to steep a Steepe. You know, he he beat
- 3:17Speaker 1: Daniel Cormier with that left hook to the liver. He
- 3:21Speaker 1: did it over and over again, and I really wanted
- 3:23Speaker 1: to hit him with that same shot. But once I
- 3:27Speaker 1: felt his punching power, I didn't want to lean to
- 3:29Speaker 1: the right, well my left. I didn't want to be
- 3:32Speaker 1: by his right side at all because catching one of
- 3:35Speaker 1: his straight rights could end your night. And so instead
- 3:38Speaker 1: of working that left hook to the body like we planned,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I worked teeping to the body and the spinning kegs
- 3:46Speaker 1: and jabbing to the body and.
- 3:48Speaker 2: It worked out great.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But I watched his DC fight and h and we
- 3:51Speaker 1: noticed that steep A can take punishment. He's a nightmare.
- 3:56Speaker 1: He's a nightmare. You can hit him and hit him
- 3:59Speaker 1: and hit him, and he shows no emotion. And I
- 4:02Speaker 1: think that's why he's a six time world champion. But yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mean, we put him down, and I'm grateful.
- 4:10Speaker 3: He announced he was retiring. He said, I'm retiring, I'm
- 4:13Speaker 3: hanging him up. Did you get a chance to talk
- 4:15Speaker 3: to him after the fight.
- 4:16Speaker 1: No, I didn't get a chance to talk to him.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I spoke to every one of his coaches at different times,
- 4:21Speaker 1: someone Octagon and some backstage.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And they're all very.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Respectful, very respectful man. Again, you can see why Steve
- 4:31Speaker 1: Bee is such a longtime champion. He has a really
- 4:35Speaker 1: solid group of men around him.
- 4:37Speaker 3: And Dana was in here and you know, you said,
- 4:39Speaker 3: if you if you want to if the Tom fight, you.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Want to be well compensated.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Dana said, his quote was, he will be, but he
- 4:44Speaker 3: knows you're going to disappear.
- 4:45Speaker 4: He probably won't hear from you.
- 4:46Speaker 3: We won't hear from you, and then when you want
- 4:48Speaker 3: to talk, you'll quote emerge and talk with you know,
- 4:51Speaker 3: Dana and Hunter.
- 4:52Speaker 4: So I guess what is your plan moving forward for the.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Next few weeks. I'm not really worried about the Tom fight.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'm really worried about the Peri fight. That's that's what
- 4:59Speaker 1: I want to do. That's what I want to do,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and I think, uh, I think if the UFC wants
- 5:06Speaker 1: to have me back, then I think that's the fight
- 5:09Speaker 1: they will make.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Uh.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I've been really clear about my intentions. That's that's what
- 5:15Speaker 1: I want. And I mean, I just feel like anybody
- 5:20Speaker 1: would understand at this point, like, you know, I'll retire
- 5:23Speaker 1: the heavyweight belt if I have to.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It's like dude, give the fight.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Give the guy what he wants at the end of
- 5:27Speaker 1: the day, you know, And I'm not talking to Dana directly.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm just I feel like I'm at a place now where,
- 5:34Speaker 1: you know, like I want to take what I find
- 5:38Speaker 1: to be super fights. I don't want to fight dangerous
- 5:42Speaker 1: up and comers anymore. I want to fight dangerous, established champions.
- 5:46Speaker 1: So to don't have the heavyweight championship, I don't really
- 5:49Speaker 1: care about it that my buyer doesn't lie in belts anymore.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I've created something much bigger I want.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Prayer Den wasn't here, and he said that he really
- 6:00Speaker 5: like not to make the Praira fight, but if you
- 6:02Speaker 5: and Alex did hound him, he would consider it. But
- 6:04Speaker 5: he said that realisently that's not a fight he wants
- 6:06Speaker 5: to see because he thinks you your skills with the
- 6:09Speaker 5: wrestling and the size would sort of outweigh what Pereira
- 6:12Speaker 5: has to offer. I'm sure it's what you think about
- 6:14Speaker 5: Data's take on that.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Man styles mixed matchups, and and I'm sure Pereyer has
- 6:22Speaker 1: knocked up many heavyweights in his day. I mean, he
- 6:25Speaker 1: has a knockout power that transcends like it's it's bigger
- 6:30Speaker 1: than weight, very special, and for me, it'd just be
- 6:36Speaker 1: worth my while fighting against Pereira. You know, people can
- 6:40Speaker 1: call me a duck and a chicken. I'm gonna go
- 6:43Speaker 1: home and cash a massive check and so the duck
- 6:47Speaker 1: and chicken thing, it's kind of funny.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's kind of what I want.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And if and if if it doesn't a line up,
- 6:56Speaker 1: then then professor my for Jesus in front of everybody
- 7:01Speaker 1: tonight and telling the world how proud I am to
- 7:05Speaker 1: be an American champion and fighting in front of my president. Man,
- 7:10Speaker 1: if that was my last fight ever, then I'm cool
- 7:12Speaker 1: with that.
- 7:12Speaker 2: That that was the way to do it. I did
- 7:15Speaker 2: the Donald Trump that was the way to do it, man.
- 7:18Speaker 1: So I think one of the really good things about
- 7:21Speaker 1: negotiating is being willing to walk away from a deal.
- 7:24Speaker 2: And that's the deal that I want.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And if that's not what the fans want, then I
- 7:30Speaker 1: guess I'll say.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Sarenata, you mentioned about sometimes you would hit Steep and
- 7:34Speaker 5: he'd showed no reaction in the first round. I actually
- 7:37Speaker 5: couldn't believe he showed no reaction to the elbows or
- 7:40Speaker 5: the fact that he wasn't cut when you were landing
- 7:41Speaker 5: those elbows, were you a little bit surprised?
- 7:43Speaker 6: Like?
- 7:43Speaker 5: What is this guy actually made of him?
- 7:45Speaker 1: You know, it was weird bro standing in front of him.
- 7:50Speaker 1: His head seemed massive, Like seriously, and I'm not trying
- 7:54Speaker 1: to insult him, his head seemed massive. It was like
- 7:57Speaker 1: a video game character. I'm like, I've never seen anything
- 8:01Speaker 1: like this, you know, I had to get past that.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I'm like, what the what is this?
- 8:09Speaker 1: And then and then when I would hit him, it
- 8:12Speaker 1: just seemed like he didn't fill a dog one thing.
- 8:14Speaker 1: You know, he just showed no reaction. I think a
- 8:17Speaker 1: lot of fighters would have would have quit getting that
- 8:20Speaker 1: level of ground and palm, but he has, he has
- 8:22Speaker 1: his ability to just take shots, and I knew. I
- 8:27Speaker 1: started to know as the time was going on that
- 8:29Speaker 1: his body was going to be the only way to victory,
- 8:31Speaker 1: and I started to really look for the for the
- 8:34Speaker 1: body shots.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Two more quick ones from me, Uh, you know obviously
- 8:37Speaker 5: mentioned about the disrespect Stepez showed you, and you mentioned
- 8:41Speaker 5: the clip of him talking about your children. There's been
- 8:43Speaker 5: a clip going around online of him on a podcast
- 8:45Speaker 5: I think with Rampay Shacks. Was that the clip You're referring.
- 8:48Speaker 1: To No, No, No, it was. It was him in
- 8:52Speaker 1: his living room, and I don't remember exactly how it
- 8:56Speaker 1: was said, but pretty much what he was saying was, well,
- 8:59Speaker 1: my kids back on me and my past. At least
- 9:02Speaker 1: my kids would never think that I'm an asshole, and
- 9:06Speaker 1: the MMA fan base they're good. I know they're going
- 9:10Speaker 1: to find it. And I wouldn't make that up. And
- 9:14Speaker 1: even if I did make it up, it's the fight business.
- 9:16Speaker 1: If I need to hype myself up, I'll hype myself up.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But the truth is he did say it. He did
- 9:21Speaker 1: call me a bitch, and tonight I made them pay
- 9:24Speaker 1: for it.
- 9:24Speaker 5: The last one for me. You mentioned training the spinning
- 9:27Speaker 5: back kick for three hours a week and stuff. Did
- 9:29Speaker 5: you do that because you thought, oh, this will work
- 9:32Speaker 5: on Steepa or do you just fancy adding something cool
- 9:34Speaker 5: to your arsenal and wanted to work on it.
- 9:36Speaker 1: I realized that I did the spinning back kick pretty
- 9:39Speaker 1: pretty naturally from the south pas stands, and I can't
- 9:41Speaker 1: call it naturally. I spent many years working with Brandon
- 9:43Speaker 1: Gibson on that move, but I wanted to make it better.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I realized that the spinning kick is a move that
- 9:53Speaker 1: can drop an elephant.
- 9:55Speaker 2: If you do it right.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It's a devastating move, in my opinion, the most powerful
- 10:00Speaker 1: kick in martial arts. And you know, we've all seen
- 10:03Speaker 1: me fight for a while now, I don't really have
- 10:05Speaker 1: one punch knockout power. So my mind was, John, why
- 10:10Speaker 1: not develop a technique that could stop any man? And
- 10:14Speaker 1: I came up with a spinning back caick And I mean,
- 10:17Speaker 1: you can be you can be any fighter, and if
- 10:20Speaker 1: I catch you just right, You're going down, no matter
- 10:24Speaker 1: how well trained you are. So I'll continue to work
- 10:27Speaker 1: it and I'll have some you know, I'm just going
- 10:31Speaker 1: to continue to work it. I'm sure all future opponents
- 10:35Speaker 1: saw that and it was just like that could easily
- 10:36Speaker 1: happen to me.
- 10:38Speaker 2: So I'm want to work it more and more and more.
- 10:40Speaker 7: John, both of your brothers were in the NFL. You're
- 10:44Speaker 7: the greatest of all time. I want to know, honest answer,
- 10:47Speaker 7: who do you believe is the best athlete out of
- 10:50Speaker 7: you and your brothers?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Best athlete Chandler, my little brother, Chadler. Chandler is an
- 10:57Speaker 1: extraordinary human being. He's a really special man.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I love him to death.
- 11:02Speaker 1: And yeah, Chandler, challenges are freak. If you decided to
- 11:07Speaker 1: be an MMA fighter, I think he do very well.
- 11:09Speaker 1: He's very dedicated athlete.
- 11:11Speaker 7: And speaking of your family, your mother would be so
- 11:13Speaker 7: proud of you today. I want to know if you
- 11:17Speaker 7: look back from you know, when she passed to now,
- 11:20Speaker 7: I like to know, like, how much have you felt
- 11:22Speaker 7: you've grown as a person, and how proud would she
- 11:24Speaker 7: be of you? And what would she think of how
- 11:25Speaker 7: you did today?
- 11:26Speaker 1: My mom used to worry about me. I was the
- 11:28Speaker 1: one son that she she stayed up all night. I
- 11:31Speaker 1: was the first one to stop coming home at night
- 11:33Speaker 1: and spending the night staying out at parties. You know,
- 11:39Speaker 1: my mom used to worry about me a lot. She
- 11:42Speaker 1: used to pray for me a lot. And and I
- 11:46Speaker 1: know for a fact that she'd be incredibly proud of
- 11:50Speaker 1: the man that I'm turning into. I can't say turned into,
- 11:54Speaker 1: because we are all works in progress, you know, but
- 11:58Speaker 1: the man that I'm turning into know for a fact
- 12:01Speaker 1: she would be very proud. And I shouldn't say she
- 12:04Speaker 1: would be. I know for a fact that she is
- 12:06Speaker 1: very proud of me. I actually had a dream about
- 12:09Speaker 1: her this morning, where I was hanging out with my
- 12:14Speaker 1: dad and I kind of we kind of got sick
- 12:17Speaker 1: of each other, and so I was like, you know,
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna go call mom. And the moment that I
- 12:23Speaker 1: was heading to call my mom, I woke up this
- 12:26Speaker 1: morning and I know that was a dream that was
- 12:30Speaker 1: meant for me today, just to let me know that
- 12:34Speaker 1: I can talk to her. And it was a beautiful thing.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I was at breakfast with my team and I was
- 12:40Speaker 1: just crying. I was just crying this morning just thinking
- 12:43Speaker 1: about my mother. And my mom used to be in
- 12:45Speaker 1: the audience saying Johnny, get them, Johnny, and I felt
- 12:52Speaker 1: her today. I really felt my mom today. She was
- 12:55Speaker 1: here with me today. It was a really beautiful day.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Thank you for giving me the chance to acknowledge her,
- 13:00Speaker 1: John right here.
- 13:02Speaker 8: You've always been a visionary or the big things you
- 13:05Speaker 8: talk about the fight against Alex. Have you envisioned a place,
- 13:09Speaker 8: a perfect location for that fight?
- 13:11Speaker 2: No, No, I haven't. I haven't.
- 13:13Speaker 1: There's so many questions when it comes to what's going
- 13:17Speaker 1: to happen as far as Alex and Tom and my future.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I can't even think about it right now. You know,
- 13:24Speaker 1: all I want to do right now is is take
- 13:28Speaker 1: my team out and get them the biggest stakes in
- 13:31Speaker 1: New York City.
- 13:32Speaker 2: These guys deserve it.
- 13:33Speaker 1: They deserve ice, cold beer, whatever they want because they
- 13:39Speaker 1: have really committed to me so much. My team is
- 13:43Speaker 1: an amazing group of men, amazing group, and that's all
- 13:46Speaker 1: I want right now is just see them happy.
- 13:50Speaker 8: I just got two real quick ones. But just for
- 13:52Speaker 8: suggesting you just want here in New York City. The
- 13:54Speaker 8: last two years before that, he won here in New
- 13:56Speaker 8: York City. So there's a lot of history right there
- 13:58Speaker 8: with Peier. Yeah yeah, I mean he won two years
- 14:01Speaker 8: in a row and headlining here and then you just
- 14:03Speaker 8: want to hear.
- 14:03Speaker 1: So the one thing that's really cool is that I'm
- 14:05Speaker 1: noticing that the fans are starting to shift. They're like,
- 14:08Speaker 1: wait a minute, This Porrified is absolutely massive as well,
- 14:13Speaker 1: and that's cool.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I'm glad that you guys are seeing it.
- 14:17Speaker 8: So two quick ones. You talked about your team. You
- 14:20Speaker 8: kind of amass this like dream team for this camp.
- 14:24Speaker 8: One of the guys that was in your team was
- 14:26Speaker 8: Gable Steveson. I mean, I think the world would love
- 14:30Speaker 8: to see that guy come to MMA. You chirping him
- 14:33Speaker 8: at anything, kind of suggesting him to come over.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Gable has everything that it takes.
- 14:37Speaker 2: You know.
- 14:38Speaker 1: He one of his first days at practice, one of
- 14:42Speaker 1: my teammates got injured, aspiring with me and Gables like,
- 14:45Speaker 1: I'll go in. I'm like, I'm like Gable, you might
- 14:48Speaker 1: want to learn how to block and you know, defend
- 14:52Speaker 1: yourself first. It can be a lot more difficult than
- 14:54Speaker 1: what it seems. But that let me, at that moment
- 14:58Speaker 1: know that he is very game. I need him in
- 15:01Speaker 1: the face. At one of his very first practices, he
- 15:03Speaker 1: ate it and he just had He looked like a
- 15:05Speaker 1: little kid, like he just developed a new toy. He's
- 15:09Speaker 1: going to be scary. He's going to be very scary
- 15:12Speaker 1: when he decides to do mma. He's just he knows
- 15:16Speaker 1: how to make men appear very weak, not me being
- 15:20Speaker 1: one of them. And when he learns how to box
- 15:24Speaker 1: uh and learns a little about jiu jitsu, it's not
- 15:28Speaker 1: a matter of if he'll become a UFC champion, it's when.
- 15:31Speaker 1: When he'll be at the UFC champion And whether he
- 15:33Speaker 1: trains an Albuquerque with our family or he finds a
- 15:36Speaker 1: different team. Whoever whoever has him are going to be
- 15:40Speaker 1: really blessed to have him.
- 15:41Speaker 2: He's an asset.
- 15:43Speaker 8: So my last question Obviously in media days, there's a
- 15:46Speaker 8: lot of sound bites is what everyone likes hearing. The
- 15:48Speaker 8: big sound bite this week was you saying you wouldn't
- 15:50Speaker 8: want to do business with Tom Asmoke. You said he's
- 15:52Speaker 8: an asshole. A lot of people in the media kind
- 15:55Speaker 8: of laughed about that, and even the US broadcasts is saying, like,
- 15:58Speaker 8: what are you talking about? Tom ass is the nicest
- 16:00Speaker 8: guy in the plan it he ever disrespects Johnny, says
- 16:02Speaker 8: nice things about John. So what what specifically has he
- 16:07Speaker 8: said or done to make him an asshole?
- 16:10Speaker 1: There's just a lot of people on his nuts right now.
- 16:12Speaker 8: And what has he done though.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Coming up with John Jones, T shirts, buying a little
- 16:19Speaker 1: duck and just a little just a little ship that
- 16:21Speaker 1: he does.
- 16:22Speaker 2: He's annoying to me.
- 16:24Speaker 1: He's annoying to me, and and that's my own personal
- 16:27Speaker 1: He annoys me. I get to you guys, you find
- 16:30Speaker 1: it entertaining, But I find him annoying and and and
- 16:36Speaker 1: I just don't like him. And at the end of
- 16:38Speaker 1: the day, if I give him the opportunity to fight me,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I want to be so compensated.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I want to say it.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I want that fuck you money, honestly, and that's just
- 16:51Speaker 1: what it is. That's just what it is, or else
- 16:54Speaker 1: my life is perfect without him. I don't need him
- 16:57Speaker 1: at all, and he needs me, and that's a good
- 17:00Speaker 1: place to be in a negotiation.
- 17:02Speaker 8: So I'm sorry. One more question. You love Muhammad Ali.
- 17:07Speaker 8: You've talked about a lot. A lot of this week
- 17:09Speaker 8: was comparing this fight in the Ali Frasier you being
- 17:13Speaker 8: the Ali side. What does that mean to you?
- 17:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I don't know's I don't try to be Muhammad Ali.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You know, I really want to be the best John
- 17:24Speaker 1: Jones that I can be. And I really feel like
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'm doing it right, you know, I'm really I'm really
- 17:28Speaker 1: proud of marching to the beat of my own drum.
- 17:33Speaker 1: It really feels good, I am. I'm doing it my way.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I'm doing it my way, and it feels good. I Mean,
- 17:44Speaker 1: you see athletes stick around too long and and I
- 17:50Speaker 1: don't want to be one of those guys.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Man.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I just want to win in every form. I want
- 17:54Speaker 1: to win in the record books, I want to win financially.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I just want to win.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And there's a lot of people that I piss off
- 18:00Speaker 1: right now, and it just lets me know that I'm
- 18:05Speaker 1: doing it right.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I'm doing it my way.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It should only make sense to me, it should only
- 18:09Speaker 1: feel good to me, and right now it does. I
- 18:12Speaker 1: know I didn't answer your question, but I just wanted.
- 18:15Speaker 9: To say that, John, down here in the middle, down
- 18:19Speaker 9: here in the middle. I know you said that you'd
- 18:21Speaker 9: be willing to walk away from negotiations if your demands
- 18:25Speaker 9: aren't met. I know you haven't made those demands yet,
- 18:28Speaker 9: but have you said a timeline for those when those
- 18:30Speaker 9: you want those negotiations to have been concluded by.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I don't even want to call them demands, you know.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I don't want to. I don't want to put the
- 18:36Speaker 1: wrong energy in the room when it comes with to Dana.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I respect Dana so much. He changed my life completely.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I don't want to call it demands. I'm not demanding anything.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I'm not trying to run anything. I'm not trying to
- 18:46Speaker 1: boss anyone. I'm just clearly like letting people know my intentions.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And whenever Dana wants me to fight is when I'll fight,
- 19:00Speaker 1: you know, as long as we can come to an agreement.
- 19:03Speaker 1: You know, I really want to make that clear. Like,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I don't want to go there with the word demand.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Respectfully at data and I have been closer now than
- 19:13Speaker 1: we've ever been before. And as a young man, well
- 19:17Speaker 1: not even a young man anymore, as a man, I
- 19:19Speaker 1: want to respectfully have a conversation with him and see
- 19:23Speaker 1: if if we see eye to eye, and if we do,
- 19:27Speaker 1: I'll fight whenever he tells me to.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Okay, two very quick questions.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Is there a dollar figure that equals fuck you money?
- 19:37Speaker 1: A very very high number. It's going to be a
- 19:39Speaker 1: very high number.
- 19:40Speaker 2: For sure.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Don't want to define very high yet.
- 19:43Speaker 2: No.
- 19:44Speaker 1: No, I've learned over the years not to really get
- 19:46Speaker 1: into finances publicly, but I want to be compensated to
- 19:53Speaker 1: the point where if I won or lost that it
- 19:56Speaker 1: really wouldn't matter.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:57Speaker 4: And the last question.
- 19:59Speaker 8: You've obviously have mentioned obviously that you would like to
- 20:01Speaker 8: fight prayer for the BMF belt. So last question I
- 20:04Speaker 8: have is why are you ducking Max Holloway?
- 20:08Speaker 2: I like that you're funny.
- 20:11Speaker 4: No, no, all right, I'll give.
- 20:13Speaker 2: The guys a sound back, a sound bite. Quack quack
- 20:16Speaker 2: quack John over.
- 20:17Speaker 10: Here, John, I know, I know you're a big Lebron
- 20:20Speaker 10: James fan. And he's in his late thirties, still dominating
- 20:24Speaker 10: the sport for straight triple doubles. You're in your late thirties,
- 20:28Speaker 10: still the goat. I just want to know what is
- 20:32Speaker 10: it that you guys have in common from a mental
- 20:34Speaker 10: perspective that allows you guys to still perfect your craft
- 20:38Speaker 10: even into your elder years.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I don't know what it is you know, but I'm
- 20:43Speaker 1: grateful to have whatever it is it is. I definitely
- 20:47Speaker 1: know that this is what I'll say first. I'm going
- 20:50Speaker 1: to say my relationship with God. You know, I'm far
- 20:54Speaker 1: from perfect human being, but I do love God, and
- 20:57Speaker 1: I feel like He loves me too, loves us all. Really,
- 21:02Speaker 1: my fiance, She's She's taken me very far. Without her,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I would not have made it this far. I know
- 21:08Speaker 1: that for a fact. My team, the men in my life.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I have extraordinary men in my life, and I'm I
- 21:17Speaker 1: am strong enough to know how to ask for help.
- 21:21Speaker 1: And I know that we were designed to be together
- 21:24Speaker 1: and to have many people that has your back. And
- 21:28Speaker 1: I'm just surrounded by powerful, intelligent men, and I think
- 21:34Speaker 1: that's why I'm still here.
- 21:36Speaker 4: John over here, to your right.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Down here, you like to the right, I'm like, you're
- 21:44Speaker 2: other right.
- 21:46Speaker 6: So Frances and ganho paid a little tribute to what
- 21:49Speaker 6: you said after his fight. I think he came on
- 21:51Speaker 6: social media says Jones look great out there tonight. Congrats Johnny, But.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I see you.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Is that a fight that maybe interest you? Like obviously
- 21:58Speaker 6: Prayer is number one on your list, but is that
- 22:00Speaker 6: one that maybe interests you more than even Tom.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I'm here to talk to UFC business tonight.
- 22:08Speaker 6: So he's I mean, Turkey Allo Shake has been able
- 22:10Speaker 6: to get these kinds of fight stone in boxing. Maybe
- 22:12Speaker 6: you could make it happening in the UFC.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Whatever whatever Uncle Danny tells me.
- 22:17Speaker 6: I also want to ask as well, because obviously you're
- 22:19Speaker 6: someone who's considered, you know, the greatest of all time
- 22:21Speaker 6: in your sport. Another goat was on last night in Dallas.
- 22:25Speaker 6: Did you were you able to catch any of the
- 22:27Speaker 6: Mike Tyson fight and what was your your thoughts on
- 22:29Speaker 6: him getting back in the ring at fifty eight?
- 22:31Speaker 2: I did. I did catch the fight.
- 22:32Speaker 1: It was hard to see him so old, uh, you know,
- 22:38Speaker 1: Red John's junior kept saying it, man, those legs aren't working.
- 22:41Speaker 1: It was really hard to see. He really sold it,
- 22:45Speaker 1: you know, with the highlight videos of him training and
- 22:48Speaker 1: his physique. I wish he went and showed us his ass.
- 22:51Speaker 1: That was a little while, Mike, you didn't have to
- 22:57Speaker 1: do that. Mike's a freak, I bet dude like Mike,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you old nasty, old old man, you old dirty bastard. You.
- 23:08Speaker 1: It was hard to watch, but I respect him so
- 23:10Speaker 1: much for getting in there. You know, that was the
- 23:13Speaker 1: cool part. You know, It's just I'm sure you know,
- 23:16Speaker 1: they compensated him very well, and uh, he got to
- 23:20Speaker 1: give a bunch of fans what they wanted, which is
- 23:22Speaker 1: just to be alive, to see him compete. And for that,
- 23:27Speaker 1: for that part alone, I thank him. I'm sure a
- 23:30Speaker 1: lot of us thank him.
- 23:31Speaker 6: And then you respect to Jake for not you know,
- 23:33Speaker 6: because I mean when holy Field came back, Bellefort went
- 23:35Speaker 6: and just kind of iced him in in very quick fashion.
- 23:38Speaker 6: And I think Jake probably could have done that later
- 23:40Speaker 6: on the Vibe, but he opted to might get to
- 23:42Speaker 6: the bell.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I don't think Jake gave him mercy. I think Jake
- 23:45Speaker 1: played it smart. I think that's what it was. I
- 23:48Speaker 1: think Jake knows that you're winning, Let's stop while you're ahead.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Let's let's let's coast, Let's get through this fight. Because
- 23:56Speaker 1: Mike can drop anyone with one shot. You know, his
- 23:59Speaker 1: legs weren't working, but that epper body was still moving
- 24:01Speaker 1: and those punches were still swinging. And I don't really
- 24:04Speaker 1: I didn't view it as Jake Kevin a mercy. Jake
- 24:06Speaker 1: coasted through that and like an intelligent fighter would John.
- 24:12Speaker 11: So I saw yesterday there's a video you're praying with
- 24:18Speaker 11: Charles Olivera and today on the backstage, you guys were like,
- 24:21Speaker 11: looks like exchanging really beautiful words to each other.
- 24:25Speaker 2: How did this relation did start? When did you matt him?
- 24:29Speaker 2: Why do you guys were praying to yesterday? How did
- 24:32Speaker 2: you guys get kind?
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm not sure we met each other in the past,
- 24:35Speaker 1: but yesterday we were on the same spinner van heading
- 24:39Speaker 1: to we're heading to press conference, and I.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Could see that he was having a rough.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Weight cut and he just was real quiet, and he
- 24:48Speaker 1: was just, you know, he looked like he was hurting,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and everybody on the bus we were all laughing, and
- 24:54Speaker 1: we're all, you know, speaking English and everything, and I
- 24:58Speaker 1: just wanted to include him, and so I was just
- 25:00Speaker 1: I just looked back and I was like, bro, you
- 25:02Speaker 1: may not be feeling good, but you look great.
- 25:04Speaker 2: That suit looks great. You know.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I was just I was just probing at him to
- 25:08Speaker 1: try to like just start a relationship and and and
- 25:12Speaker 1: his translator started communicating for us, and uh, and you
- 25:16Speaker 1: know that big old smile he has and everything, and uh.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I just I was like, man, this this guy's cool.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And then at the press conference, I realized how much
- 25:25Speaker 1: people love him, and uh. And then and then we
- 25:30Speaker 1: were watching me and my wife were watching him bedded
- 25:32Speaker 1: and my wife's like, John, he's a Christian too, He's
- 25:35Speaker 1: a Christian as well.
- 25:36Speaker 2: And I was like, oh really, And so then I
- 25:38Speaker 2: liked him even more.
- 25:40Speaker 1: And and when I saw him I saw him. Next,
- 25:46Speaker 1: I asked my pastor. I was like, hey, would you
- 25:48Speaker 1: pray for both of us? And my pastor was like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: of course. And we came together and we bowed our
- 25:53Speaker 1: heads in it, and even though he probably didn't understand
- 25:55Speaker 1: anything we were saying, we we had that agreeance right
- 25:59Speaker 1: then and there.
- 26:00Speaker 2: And after we're done.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Praying, I was like Tim Crystal, which is christ from Portuguese,
- 26:07Speaker 1: and he understood that, and we just had kind of
- 26:10Speaker 1: an agreement that we're both going to represent, We're going
- 26:13Speaker 1: to do our absolute best and when the pastor was praying,
- 26:18Speaker 1: he actually was saying that the victory is already yours.
- 26:21Speaker 1: The victory is one, it is yours. And I believe
- 26:24Speaker 1: him when he says that. And so now it was
- 26:26Speaker 1: our job to do our part and give it all
- 26:28Speaker 1: we had. And when I heard that he won, because
- 26:30Speaker 1: we turned the TV off in my locker room, all
- 26:32Speaker 1: my guys were watching the fights. My bro, what are
- 26:34Speaker 1: you doing? But anyways, when I heard that he won,
- 26:37Speaker 1: it just it was one piece of the puzzle that
- 26:39Speaker 1: was already written. And then I just knew I had
- 26:42Speaker 1: to go out there and do my part.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Just John here, Yeah, give this man. Well, I'm going
- 26:50Speaker 2: to answer your question.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Come on, I have at least fifty questions and I'm
- 26:54Speaker 1: not going to answer question.
- 26:57Speaker 12: I'll ask just one. You prove again, but you're the
- 27:00Speaker 12: greatest of all time. Tonight it was an excellent performance,
- 27:04Speaker 12: pretty wise, pretty patient like it was. It was a
- 27:06Speaker 12: perfect performance. I really have a lot of questions, but
- 27:09Speaker 12: I only ask one. Uh you, I had the great career,
- 27:14Speaker 12: like best fighter ever for sure. What was the most
- 27:17Speaker 12: memorable moment for throughout your career? The most like important moment?
- 27:24Speaker 2: Tonight?
- 27:25Speaker 1: It was Stephen Bonner, Rachio Shogun who and tonight it
- 27:31Speaker 1: was incredibly special finishing DC is up there too. Stephen
- 27:36Speaker 1: Bonner was the first star that I thought as a
- 27:38Speaker 1: young man. Everybody around me told me that I was
- 27:41Speaker 1: noe and I couldn't do it, and and I had
- 27:44Speaker 1: to really work on meditation and and and bringing up
- 27:47Speaker 1: my self esteem for the first time and like to
- 27:53Speaker 1: beat Stephen Bonner Rachio Shogun beating Showgun taught me that
- 27:59Speaker 1: that I could be right kid from a small town,
- 28:02Speaker 1: never good at anything. I became a champion d C
- 28:07Speaker 1: we have. It was just very personal and tonight, tonight
- 28:12Speaker 1: is is the biggest moment of my life. Like I
- 28:14Speaker 1: said earlier, you know, to to talk about Jesus in
- 28:17Speaker 1: front of our president and let the world know how
- 28:20Speaker 1: truly proud I am to be an American champion. It
- 28:23Speaker 1: felt awesome, man to finish, to finish Steepe, it felt awesome.
- 28:29Speaker 1: It felt awesome, And that's why I know for a
- 28:32Speaker 1: fact that I can.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I can. I can retire.
- 28:35Speaker 1: After night like tonight, I can't pronounce it, but the
- 28:37Speaker 1: Italian term vd vd VT, I came, I saw, I conquered.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I feel that tonight very proud.
- 28:46Speaker 13: John right here, just speaking of the fight tonight. Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 13: I was watched the clip a bunch of times on
- 28:52Speaker 13: that on the spinning back kick. Were you able to
- 28:55Speaker 13: see it, Land?
- 28:56Speaker 1: No, I didn't see it, Land, but but I felt it.
- 29:00Speaker 13: Do you feel like that it was a clean That
- 29:02Speaker 13: was way you were going in the moment.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if he heard a rib. It'd
- 29:07Speaker 1: he fractured a rib, you know. I guess we'll find out.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I don't know if you went to the hospital or not,
- 29:11Speaker 1: but you know, the liver shot is the liver is
- 29:14Speaker 1: on the right side of the body.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I hit him on the left side of the body.
- 29:17Speaker 1: But those organs in there when you rattle them, you know,
- 29:19Speaker 1: the liver's not too far away. So either he felt
- 29:23Speaker 1: his liver when I hit or he felt his rib.
- 29:25Speaker 1: But I hit clean, really clean.
- 29:28Speaker 13: So you didn't see that he was down until he
- 29:29Speaker 13: turned around and then faced him. That's when you came in, right.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Yeah, with the new rules, I wanted to kick right away,
- 29:35Speaker 1: but I'm like, let me not mess this up, and
- 29:38Speaker 1: then I went in for the punches and I really
- 29:41Speaker 1: want to take the moment. Also, just say thank you
- 29:42Speaker 1: to Steep Am Yochic, thank you for being a first responder.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I absolutely love you. I love our law enforcement. I
- 29:49Speaker 2: love being an American. I love our military, I love
- 29:52Speaker 2: our firefighters. I love our nurses and our doctors.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I appreciate you, even though I did not like you
- 29:59Speaker 1: during this event. Appreciate you and I respect you so much.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Thank you to you your family. God bless you. Sincerely.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna put these funky, these punky shades back on
- 30:13Speaker 1: What's up?
- 30:17Speaker 14: Did he No? I did it? That's pretty cool.
- 30:27Speaker 1: H
