- 0:11Well, good morning, friends, ruminators, ladies, and gentlemen wherever you
- 0:15may be. Thank you for listening wherever however, We appreciate it very much.
- 0:21He's Grant Allen, running the radio program known as The Morning Show with
- 0:24Me Preston Scott. I'm Preston and this is Azus Rodriguez. He is a
- 0:32retired member of the United States Border Patrol, retired agent and Azeus. Welcome
- 0:37back to the show. Hello, my friend, how are you? Good
- 0:40morning? So? How you doing find yourself? I'm doing okay. We
- 0:44went through a list, I mean, the big stories in the press box
- 0:48today were many, but I have to ask you about the one that we've
- 0:52decided is the biggest. Mexico's president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador are telling sixty minutes
- 1:03paraphrasing that the flow of migrants will continue into the United States unless the US
- 1:07meets his demands. Yeah, I saw that too. I started laughing in
- 1:14jeez, Louis boy, or mean, health hop is now by Mexico.
- 1:17Okay, is that how you view it? Do you view it the way
- 1:19that many are. That's diplomatic blackmail? Oh, I would think so.
- 1:23Yeah, I have to say so, that's exactly what it is, because
- 1:27they're basically saying, yeah, we can control it, but we're not going
- 1:30to let's, you know, let's you do what we want to do.
- 1:34What do you think, rank and file? I mean, what do you
- 1:38think first as a guy who has dealt with this for better than two decades
- 1:44of your life, as a resident of Arizona, who deals with this each
- 1:49and every day in some form or fashion. And then secondly is there's what
- 1:53do you think your fellow agents think of a statement like that? Well,
- 2:00well, let me go back for a second. Back, so back in
- 2:01the day, we would if we had issues with with certain people, and
- 2:06we knew that they couldn't control everything because they were outnumbered in a lot of
- 2:08different areas. But if we could have them control certain areas and certain people
- 2:15that you know on the on the Mexican side, we know we had the
- 2:17ability to talk to them and they would do whatever as best they could to
- 2:22control it or push it somewhere else, you know, and and kind of
- 2:25work with us in that in that sense. But now, I mean,
- 2:29you're talking about these record numbers that how can they control them? I mean
- 2:34the people on the ground, not so much in his position uh a lot.
- 2:38But the people that that are on the ground, how can you know?
- 2:42They're out numbered, so they're kind of trying to do as best they
- 2:46can to control it. But again there's the politics, you know, stick
- 2:49their head and everything, so it makes it even worse. The reality is,
- 2:53as you pointed out in a note to me, is agents now are
- 2:57required to process numbers that were never ever meant to be processed. Exactly,
- 3:07yes, because now you have agents process and you have agents having to to
- 3:12care for them and feed them, et cetera, et cetera, and transport
- 3:15them from point A to point B. So you know now that it's overwhelming.
- 3:20So you you're you know, you're basically processing numbers and getting them in
- 3:24and getting them out as as you can, because you have a certain time
- 3:27limit that you have to to meet in order to get them in and get
- 3:30them out, and get them out to another facility where they can handle them,
- 3:35whether it's a largest attention facility or whether it's to all of these you
- 3:38know, get them out of the of the Borgteal's hands and into these shelters.
- 3:43Talk us through kind of an average sort of way that this works.
- 3:49By that, I mean our agents assigned. Okay, you're going to be
- 3:53out on patrol, you're going to be working this sector of defence. This
- 3:58group is going to be doing this, another going to be inside processing,
- 4:00and then it rotates. How does that actually function? So so when all
- 4:05this began present the agents were basically assigned to uh picking up the the illegal
- 4:13aliens wherever they were in those in along the border and then getting them to
- 4:16a spot where they could uh you know, do a more thorough search of
- 4:21them in a lot of different ways and then finally get some bio information on
- 4:27them and put them on a on a transport bus or a van and get
- 4:30them to the near station or station that they were near. There's too and
- 4:33then from there it was just like an initial process. And then in some
- 4:38instances they would pack certain people and buses and send them out to other stations
- 4:43or you know, to other larger facilities. So it was, you know,
- 4:46the ability to work the traffic, so to speak, was it didn't
- 4:51exist because they were basically, as some of the agents mentioned to me,
- 4:56they were. They were basically the the uber drivers for for all these people.
- 5:00Don't forget to subscribe to the conversations with Preston Scott podcast on the iHeartRadio
- 5:05app. Don't forget, We're told them, don't forget. We're just reminding
- 5:09them. What do you want from me? Leave me alone? The Morning
- 5:15Show with Preston Scott on News Radio one hundred point seven double u f L
- 5:19A or on NewsRadio w f LA Panama City dot Com. Yeah, boy,
- 5:28common sense amplified in your ears with a Zeus Rodriguez, former US Border
- 5:32Patrol agent. So, if you're an agent that is out there patrolling,
- 5:40are you patrolling on roads or are you patrolling on backroads, dirt roads along
- 5:45the fence line, along the fence line something we call them cut roads.
- 5:49They're road that that that are that run kind of parallel the border road.
- 5:56And so you're looking for foot sign out there. You know, they have
- 6:00people that have crossed those areas. Uh, in some of the remote areas,
- 6:02there can be there could be at vs, there can be people on
- 6:06horseback transporting narcotics. So yeah, that's they're basically that's what they're doing out
- 6:11there. They're they're working at that traffic out there. And so when when
- 6:15those agents apprehend x number of illegals and the ZIP time or whatever and they
- 6:23transport into a station for processing. Are those agents then going right back out
- 6:30and picking up where they left off. So the way it worked Preston was
- 6:34that you would pick them up, get into a van uh and and do
- 6:39a fuel processing them out there, search them, go through their contents and
- 6:43their backpacks. Uh. You know, if something stuck out in an individual,
- 6:46you'd you would make a note of it on the on the field reports
- 6:50and then from there they'd be sent to the station where they would be processed.
- 6:54So back you know in the days when you didn't have the the the
- 6:58most that you had, you had an opportunity to look at you know,
- 7:01kind of look once over somebody, or listen to what people were saying or
- 7:05sure or you know, listen to the stories. And then you would if
- 7:08you had to reflect somebody, so to speak. You you do that and
- 7:11when they get to the station and then they do some further investigation. But
- 7:15with the numbers you have now, you know, you don't have that ability
- 7:18just basically get them in the van and get them out. That's basically what
- 7:21And now the heat coming on here in the west, right, so it's
- 7:26going to be more important to get him in and get him out out to
- 7:29a cooler facility, will okay. But as the agents are loading them up
- 7:34and transporting them to another location, they're no longer on those cut roads,
- 7:41right, Nope, Nope, they got to go back out and there's not
- 7:45another group of agents go into those same cut roads while that group of agents
- 7:48is coming back correct and maybe not because they maybe tied up with it depends
- 7:53on the size of the group. Depends the size of the group that you're
- 7:56dealing with, and doesn't what they have and then going on in their area.
- 8:00Well, and that's why I'm asking, do you is it your sense
- 8:03that and I think I know the answer to this, but for the sake
- 8:07of listeners, would it be your sense that the cartels, the smugglers,
- 8:11they know this, and so the people they want to get across the border,
- 8:16uh, and let them become godaways. The people that don't want to
- 8:18be caught, that's the time to get them. As you sort of get
- 8:22a group there that might not be all that important, but then after they've
- 8:26been caught and brought away, then you send your next crew through. Oh
- 8:31yeah, easily. Oh yeah. You sacrifice a larger group to get something
- 8:37a smaller group, and that's a little bit more that casl lot more money.
- 8:41And then keep in mind too, ship change. They know when the
- 8:43ship change begins, to know when agents have to start heading back to the
- 8:46station. And so they'll run another you know, they'll run multiple groups through,
- 8:50you know, a larger group through when the agents start to leave the
- 8:54area as the other as an oncoming agents are making their way into the area.
- 8:58See I mentioned that because another story came out this week of a forty
- 9:03eight year old leader of MS thirteen that was captured on the FBI's most wanted
- 9:09list at the California Mexico border. And and I just got the thinking of
- 9:13our conversations and how many we don't know about. And that's that's exactly what
- 9:20it is pressing, because if we don't know, if there's not an interval
- 9:22hit on some of these people that are coming across, there's really no way
- 9:26of knowing what their their past is from wherever the country they're coming from,
- 9:31unless you sense you have to. You have to listen to what they're saying
- 9:35and how they say it. And I could target explain to you, but
- 9:39it's your You have a sense of spider sense that will that may kick off
- 9:43at that you know at that point, or a tattoo that you know that
- 9:46that you may see on them on their arms right and somewhere on their body,
- 9:50something that that will we'll all all of a sudden send a red flag
- 9:54in your head and you start poking a little bit more seeing what's going on.
- 9:56You have that ability, then you may still have a little bit of
- 10:01ability now, but maybe not in the in the numbers that you did in
- 10:05the past. So it sets off ahol these like I said, bells and
- 10:09whistles. When you get somebody like that, we would call it. I
- 10:24mean, clearly, a lot of the people that are coming to this country
- 10:31are just wanting a better life. But there are legal ways to enter this
- 10:35country, and sadly, we have an administration making it very easy for people
- 10:41to illegally enter this country. But that journey is fraught with danger. In
- 10:46AZEUS Rodriguez with US, a retired US Border Patrol Agent AZEUS, these illegal
- 10:52immigrants are targeted, Oh yes, sir, They're targeted from the very the
- 10:58time they start to make their way into some of these countries that they that
- 11:01they passed through, especially they're coming from South America. So even when they
- 11:05get up to the border, you know, they're they're running a gauntlet of
- 11:09bandits, and and even even if if they were across the border and and
- 11:15UH and start making their ways northbound, not just giving up like they like
- 11:20a lot of them are doing now, but they're beginning northbound. They can
- 11:22also be robbed near the border area as well, assaulted, rape, I
- 11:26mean, there's a number of things that can happen to them. I mean,
- 11:28I'm curious, is this is this a racket in the sense could cartels
- 11:33be robbing them on the front end to create situations desperation on the back end
- 11:39where they then have to make arrangements with the cartaels to keep paying them to
- 11:41get them into the country. That's a possibility, But I mean, you're
- 11:46looking at these guys, it's it's it's like it's in the past. It's
- 11:48a tentacle look of all these the cartels. So you have them that they
- 11:54can be robbed south of the line by cartel associated members. They can be
- 11:58robbed prior right before they get the line. They can be robbed on the
- 12:01way, you know, being transported down to the to the line. You
- 12:03know, even across UH into you know, they head north down. So
- 12:07it's just there's so many ways that they can be you know, they can
- 12:11be taking advantage of by so many different people. How does that and then
- 12:15if they get to a to a to a fash house they could at the
- 12:18same day that can happen there. How does this pose a threat? How
- 12:22does this spill over to agents so on along the border? You when if
- 12:28they're getting robbed, you know there a lot of these cartoon members are using
- 12:33firearms. So if there's there can be a confrontation between a cartel member or
- 12:37a bandit UH and so a rip crew as we would call them rip crew,
- 12:43and so there could be a confrontation, and so they just are are
- 12:46in danger of that happening. Before. We had an incident number of years
- 12:52ago where the cartel UH basically executed it about the five or six guys,
- 12:58right, Nick, I mean probably with the storm still of the border,
- 13:01and they left one guy to live so he could tell the rest of them.
- 13:05And what they did with him is they cut his throat. He was
- 13:09able to survive, he was able to make it north of the border and
- 13:11put it ran into an agent. My goodness. So it's it's yeah,
- 13:16it's an ongoing thing. Person, this is this is been happening. So
- 13:20they they rubbed the running that coppin on a on a regular basis, and
- 13:22then talk about the women that can be sexually assaulted out there as well.
- 13:28We talk about rank and file police officers in certain jurisdictions in the country that
- 13:33just are overwhelmed with frustration because they arrest people and judges turn them loose.
- 13:39District attorneys request no request, a one dollar bail or none whatsoever, and
- 13:46they turn them loose. I can't imagine what agents think when they see a
- 13:50story like this. Immigration judges have thrown out two hundred thousand deportation cases simply
- 13:58because the Biden administration did not file paperwork on time. Simply well amazing,
- 14:07yes, but not amazing because that's now. I'm used to all of the
- 14:11way this is all working out now. And the one question person should be
- 14:16is what kind of why were those individuals set up for deportations? Today?
- 14:20Were they were they set up for deportation because they were a criminal, and
- 14:26and so what kind of crimes did they commit? That was? That should
- 14:28be a question that people should be asking, why were they what kind of
- 14:31crimes did these people commit in order for them to be set up for deportation?
- 14:35Hearing what's interesting and when you dig deeper into the data, cities in
- 14:41Texas and Florida had roughly fifty percent of its cases dismissed New Jersey, Washington,
- 14:48in California less than four percent. Wow, I didn't know that one's
- 14:56I mean, that speaks to an intentional liberate plan to release illegal immigrants,
- 15:03the worst of the worst, the deep those set for deportation into the states
- 15:09trying to fight illegal immigration. Oh yeah, that's that's is exuly what it
- 15:13sounds like. That's exactly what it sounds like, I mean. And so
- 15:18as an agent, there's not much you can do. You're tasked with processing
- 15:20and getting them to the facility, and then from there it falls on the
- 15:24immigration judge to find and decide they're going to deport them or not or give
- 15:28deport them in and in essential, even if they show that they don't show
- 15:31up, or to give them an order of deportation and they have to leave
- 15:35the country by a certain date, you know, get their their business and
- 15:39order. So unfortunately, the agents are just tasked with processes and't get them
- 15:43out and so the turnstile continues, Oh yeah, it's not going to stop
- 15:50pressing. Then we're hitting the time of the year when when the numbers you
- 15:52know, start to spike because the weather is warmer, it's not as it's
- 15:56not as cold as it was a few months ago. So now you're looking
- 16:00at at at the number start probably working a spike. And then you're also
- 16:04looking at this at the agents having to be tied up with having you to
- 16:08provide uh, you know, possible first hid because they come across and they're
- 16:12dehydrated. Zeus is always thanks for the time. We'll talk again soon.
- 16:18Thank you, sir. Take here, Thank you. Azeus Rodriguez with Us
