Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's early morning praise party.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I am Sherrie Mackie, and it's time right now for
- 0:05Speaker 2: today's word.
- 0:07Speaker 1: When loss leads.
- 0:09Speaker 2: To legacy Ruth one twenty two says, So Naomi returned
- 0:13Speaker 2: from Moab accompanied by Ruth, a Moabite, her daughter in law,
- 0:18Speaker 2: arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Naomi's story reminds.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Us that sometimes life takes turns we never saw coming.
- 0:31Speaker 2: She had moved to Moab with her husband and sons,
- 0:34Speaker 2: and things were good for a while, but then her
- 0:37Speaker 2: husband died. A decade later, both of her sons passed away,
- 0:42Speaker 2: leaving Naomi and her daughter in law Ruth and Orpah
- 0:47Speaker 2: broken hearted and with no clear future. Can you imagine
- 0:53Speaker 2: the grief, the pain, and the sense of hopelessness they
- 0:56Speaker 2: must have felt. Naomi decided to return home to Bethlehem,
- 1:02Speaker 2: and Ruth chose.
- 1:03Speaker 1: To walk with her.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Now, what seemed like a season of unbearable loss was
- 1:09Speaker 2: actually God set up for something far greater. In Bethlehem,
- 1:13Speaker 2: Ruth would meet Boaz, a man of influence, a man
- 1:17Speaker 2: of integrity, and a man of wealth. Their marriage would
- 1:20Speaker 2: not only restore stability and joy, but also become part
- 1:24Speaker 2: of a much bigger story. Ruth and Boaz had a
- 1:28Speaker 2: son named Obed, who became the grandfather of King David.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Generations later, through that very same family line came the
- 1:38Speaker 2: birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I want
- 1:43Speaker 2: you to think about that, what started with tragedy in
- 1:46Speaker 2: Moab ended with redemption in Bethlehem.
- 1:49Speaker 1: What felt like.
- 1:50Speaker 2: The end was actually the beginning of a legacy that
- 1:54Speaker 2: would bless the whole world. Maybe you're walking through a
- 1:58Speaker 2: season where loss, where disappointment or closed doors have left
- 2:02Speaker 2: you feeling discouraged. From the perspective, it feels unfair, it
- 2:06Speaker 2: feels painful, even pointless. But God's perspective is so much bigger.
- 2:12Speaker 2: He's beyond the moment. He sees beyond what you see
- 2:16Speaker 2: right now. He works generationally weaving together blessings not only
- 2:21Speaker 2: that will touch your life, but ripple into future generations.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So don't judge your life based on one chapter. Just
- 2:29Speaker 2: like he did for Naomi and Ruth, God is working
- 2:32Speaker 2: behind the scenes for your good. From my good, the
- 2:35Speaker 2: very place of loss can become the soil where legacy
- 2:38Speaker 2: is born. What looks like I said back is often
- 2:42Speaker 2: a divine setup for something far greater than you can imagine.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Oh Father God, thank you that even when we don't
- 2:50Speaker 2: understand the pain or lost in our lives, you are
- 2:53Speaker 2: still writing our story. Thank you that your sovereign plans
- 2:59Speaker 2: reach far beyond what we can see. God, we trust
- 3:03Speaker 2: that you're turning setbacks into setups and working out something
- 3:07Speaker 2: greater than.
- 3:07Speaker 1: We can imagine.
- 3:08Speaker 2: We choose to believe that legacy and blessings are being
- 3:12Speaker 2: born out of this season.
- 3:14Speaker 1: In Jesus' name.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Now that's your word for today. I want you to
- 3:18Speaker 2: take it apply to your every day life and you
- 3:21Speaker 2: continue to be encouraged and inspired with me, your girl,
- 3:24Speaker 2: Sherry Mackey
