- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Of course, I'm your host, Clay, and with me like
- 0:28Speaker 2: every single week. Of course, is Katie, Katie, how you're doing.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I'm good. Please hold I'm gonna change my WiFi. Realize
- 0:39Speaker 3: I'm connected to the wrong file. That's my problem.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And now she's frozen, but only for a short while
- 0:51Speaker 2: hopefully Maybe I don't know she's forever frozen. Now while
- 0:57Speaker 2: we get her back, there we go, She's back, all right? Uh. Tonight,
- 1:06Speaker 2: we have a couple of things that have come up
- 1:09Speaker 2: in the news that we will talk about, but our
- 1:13Speaker 2: main two topics of tonight are, of course, the brand
- 1:19Speaker 2: new Young Jedi Adventures Season three that came out uh
- 1:26Speaker 2: two days ago ye, and the Path of the Lightsaber
- 1:35Speaker 2: that came out last week I believe two weeks ago.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I can't remember a month? Has it been a month already? Who? Whoa?
- 1:47Speaker 3: Okay, it came out the same week as Master of Evil.
- 1:52Speaker 3: If you have finished Master of Evil you're looking for
- 1:55Speaker 3: a review, We've reviewed it already, kind of sort of
- 1:59Speaker 3: we need to follow up, Clay read so we can
- 2:02Speaker 3: follow up. But yes, that has been reviewed, so now
- 2:06Speaker 3: we're catching up on the final realistically new piece of
- 2:11Speaker 3: Star Wars media for the year.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So yes, which does remind me. We are planning on
- 2:21Speaker 2: a break for of course, Christmas, so don't expect there
- 2:26Speaker 2: to be an episode for the week of Christmas, but
- 2:30Speaker 2: we will most likely be back to the very next week.
- 2:37Speaker 3: No, I think I put on our calendar because I
- 2:39Speaker 3: got buried on the thirty first, so I think I
- 2:42Speaker 3: put on our calendar that we are not recording the
- 2:45Speaker 3: following week as well.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're taking two weeks off and then we're
- 2:50Speaker 2: jumping it back in January.
- 2:55Speaker 3: But yes, we are taking a break.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It's a much needed break actually, and these breaks helps,
- 3:07Speaker 2: these breaks pause, help us recoup, but also they help us,
- 3:15Speaker 2: you know, get organized for the next year, especially at
- 3:20Speaker 2: the end of the year. I still have been kind
- 3:24Speaker 2: of scrummaging up some ideas for topics for next year
- 3:28Speaker 2: as well. My portion of the calendar is like spring
- 3:35Speaker 2: Summer that I need to be filling out, and so
- 3:41Speaker 2: with those two weeks it'll be like for me time
- 3:45Speaker 2: to actually place them inside the calendar. But yeah, we
- 3:50Speaker 2: have those two main topics. News segments of today deal
- 3:54Speaker 2: with video games and and the Hunt for Solo and
- 4:03Speaker 2: the Hunt for Ben Solo. There was that small little
- 4:05Speaker 2: thing there as well. So Katie, which one would you
- 4:12Speaker 2: like to do first? Would you like to sit back
- 4:15Speaker 2: while I talk about the video games since you're not
- 4:17Speaker 2: really into all that, or do you want to talk
- 4:20Speaker 2: about Okay? Okay, So let me start my little rant
- 4:25Speaker 2: with the video games and then we will jump into
- 4:28Speaker 2: the hunt for Ben Solo news. Okay, guys, So the
- 4:31Speaker 2: very first bit of news that we received, and I
- 4:34Speaker 2: actually want to make sure timeline wise, I am getting
- 4:37Speaker 2: this correct, that was two yeah, yeah, so two days ago,
- 4:42Speaker 2: three days ago. Really, we started hearing rumblings that the
- 4:47Speaker 2: Knights of the Old Republic game is not dead as
- 4:51Speaker 2: far as the remake goes. And I told Travis like
- 4:56Speaker 2: three or four times in a row. I was like,
- 4:58Speaker 2: don't give me hope. Don't tell this to me. It's
- 5:02Speaker 2: not true. Stop, just like, just let it die. It's
- 5:05Speaker 2: okay if this thing dies. Okay, but these rumors do
- 5:11Speaker 2: seem to be true with an inevitable announcement hopefully the
- 5:17Speaker 2: time that you were listening to this tonight at the
- 5:20Speaker 2: Game Awards. The Game Awards are going to be I
- 5:24Speaker 2: believe it's tomorrow. I want to double check. Is it
- 5:29Speaker 2: tomorrow or is it Saturday Game Awards twenty five December eleventh, Yes, tomorrow,
- 5:39Speaker 2: So tomorrow there is hopefully going to be an actual announcement,
- 5:48Speaker 2: but from some weird like I don't know how these
- 5:53Speaker 2: people got these documents or whatever, but according to some documents,
- 6:01Speaker 2: the Knights of the Old Republic release is actually uh
- 6:08Speaker 2: not going uh coming from what was its air? Was
- 6:14Speaker 2: the was the name of it? I believe? Yes, says
- 6:22Speaker 2: here that uh the court documents revealed that an unannounced
- 6:26Speaker 2: coodetur to remake, and this is how they this is
- 6:29Speaker 2: how they found out that this series was still alive,
- 6:35Speaker 2: that the second Kotor game is in development, and that
- 6:42Speaker 2: uh mad Head Games, alongside Saber Interactive is making Ko
- 6:53Speaker 2: Tore one and two and it's no longer in the
- 6:55Speaker 2: hands of Asper Now. I needed to do some digging myself,
- 7:00Speaker 2: and I was literally doing the research right before the
- 7:03Speaker 2: show started. Mad what is it called? Sorry? Mad had Games.
- 7:12Speaker 2: They do not have a lot of games in their wheelhouse.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I think the biggest name that they have is Hell
- 7:20Speaker 2: Raisers Revival, and then there's something called scars above? Are
- 7:26Speaker 2: there two like bigger games. I think they've dealt with
- 7:30Speaker 2: some of the like small mobile stuff before, or like
- 7:35Speaker 2: the small three or four dollar games that you randomly
- 7:37Speaker 2: see on things like Steam or the PlayStation store and
- 7:40Speaker 2: Xbox Live and stuff like that, but bigger ips. These
- 7:45Speaker 2: are the two games that I have seen that they
- 7:48Speaker 2: have made. Looking at the graphics for like what's on
- 7:54Speaker 2: their website, I think I'm okay with this. I do
- 8:00Speaker 2: to take a deeper dive into this hell Raiser revival
- 8:03Speaker 2: because this is their biggest ip that they've dealt with,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and I would like to see what the reviews are.
- 8:11Speaker 2: If they know how to handle bigger ips, then all
- 8:15Speaker 2: better for them to be working on Nights of the
- 8:17Speaker 2: Old Republic. I am very excited that they are already
- 8:25Speaker 2: starting to work on the second one. What that tells
- 8:29Speaker 2: me is, hey, we're in this for the long haul.
- 8:33Speaker 2: This could and my hopes even when it was first
- 8:37Speaker 2: announced five years ago. By the way, guys, this was
- 8:41Speaker 2: announced five years ago. I was still living. Was it
- 8:47Speaker 2: five years ago?
- 8:48Speaker 3: No?
- 8:48Speaker 2: No, no, it wasn't five. Couldn't have been five. We
- 8:51Speaker 2: had just gotten Flynn, so it was three years ago,
- 8:56Speaker 2: four years Ago. But my hopes for this franchise is
- 9:03Speaker 2: that this becomes a revival of the franchise. So not
- 9:07Speaker 2: only do we get Kotor one and two, but quite
- 9:11Speaker 2: possibly this will bring in either The Old Republic three
- 9:19Speaker 2: or because here's a small spoiler for Young Jedi Adventures,
- 9:27Speaker 2: we know that the Old Republic takes place before the
- 9:31Speaker 2: High Republic. So if they were to make a High
- 9:36Speaker 2: Republic game, oh who, that would be amazing. It would
- 9:41Speaker 2: be absolutely amazing.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I love that little shout out for the Old Republic.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that was really really fun. But that's
- 9:50Speaker 2: what my hopes are. And like I said, I'm really
- 9:53Speaker 2: hoping for an announcement tomorrow at the Game Awards, which,
- 10:00Speaker 2: by the way, if you guys do plan on watching
- 10:03Speaker 2: the Game Awards, the guys over at geek Verse usually
- 10:08Speaker 2: live stream alongside the Game Awards, so I will be
- 10:14Speaker 2: in the chat over at the well at this channel
- 10:16Speaker 2: right here, a geek Verse YouTube channel, So if you
- 10:20Speaker 2: want to hang out with me, Travis, Taylor, all of them,
- 10:25Speaker 2: then by all means join us. But with that, there
- 10:30Speaker 2: is one more gaming announcement, and that announcement is came
- 10:39Speaker 2: out of left field. By the way, completely out of
- 10:43Speaker 2: left field. Nobody was expecting this, and I'm surprised they
- 10:48Speaker 2: did not wait until the Game Awards for this one.
- 10:54Speaker 2: But again, it's smaller to.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Get a little bit of publish I understand putting this
- 11:01Speaker 3: one because this is a mobile first game. Yeah, and
- 11:05Speaker 3: if you know, hey, we're going to talk about Kotor
- 11:08Speaker 3: at the Game Awards.
- 11:10Speaker 2: And and this could still this could still make it
- 11:13Speaker 2: on the Game Awards, but this is still I think
- 11:17Speaker 2: a smaller deal. This is coming from Star Wars dot Com.
- 11:24Speaker 2: All hands on deck for a new Star Wars collectible
- 11:27Speaker 2: card game. There are things called t cgs. It's collectible
- 11:39Speaker 2: card games, and then there's uh uh what is it?
- 11:45Speaker 2: Uh if there's a difference between them, its TCG and
- 11:49Speaker 2: then tc C I I can't remember. But with this,
- 11:56Speaker 2: I'm actually really excited for this card game because well,
- 12:02Speaker 2: let me just read this right here and then I'll
- 12:04Speaker 2: give you a little bit more insight on the people
- 12:06Speaker 2: who are actually developing this game. Lucasfilm Games and that
- 12:11Speaker 2: zero three six Studios, along with CCG Lab are teaming
- 12:16Speaker 2: up for a brand new collectible card game for Android
- 12:18Speaker 2: iOS and PC bill decks featuring an all star roster
- 12:23Speaker 2: of your favorite characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and
- 12:26Speaker 2: a Star Wars card game that will bring the saga
- 12:29Speaker 2: to life in a fresh new way for the genre.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Together with zero three to six Studio and Lucasfilm Games,
- 12:36Speaker 2: we're creating something truly exciting for players and fans alike,
- 12:41Speaker 2: and experience that celebrates the joy of play in the
- 12:44Speaker 2: galaxy far far away. Corey Jones, the CEO of CCG LAP, says,
- 12:49Speaker 2: our mission is to create or is sorry, is to
- 12:54Speaker 2: craft an experience that captures the thrill, adventure, and heart
- 12:58Speaker 2: of Star Wars, a game that feels was instantly familiar
- 13:01Speaker 2: yet constantly surprising. The opportunity to develop a game for
- 13:06Speaker 2: Star Wars is a profound honor for our studio, says
- 13:11Speaker 2: zero three six. Stay tuned, of course at star Wars
- 13:15Speaker 2: dot com and other places. Now, the really exciting thing
- 13:20Speaker 2: for me is this zero three six Studios. Zero three
- 13:27Speaker 2: six zero three six is actually a merger from us
- 13:34Speaker 2: several different companieska.
- 13:38Speaker 3: It is a.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Merger between new Verse, Byte Dance, and what was the
- 13:54Speaker 2: other one? There was a third one and I can't
- 13:58Speaker 2: remember the third one. But they've made really, really popular
- 14:02Speaker 2: very very high demand games, one being something that I
- 14:09Speaker 2: am fortunately unfortunately addicted to called Marvel Snap. This is
- 14:14Speaker 2: a game that I spend money on regularly, monthly, even
- 14:20Speaker 2: so I already know this game. Not only is it
- 14:24Speaker 2: Star Wars, but it's coming from a studio that already
- 14:27Speaker 2: has my money. I'm probably gonna give them more of
- 14:29Speaker 2: my money. And then one of these studios also made
- 14:34Speaker 2: a game called Hotsune Miko Colorful Stage, which is a
- 14:39Speaker 2: popular mobile game with over twenty million downloads. So lucasfilm
- 14:49Speaker 2: Star Wars Games, they did their research and said, hey,
- 14:52Speaker 2: who's going to help us get the most downloads and
- 14:57Speaker 2: the most money on the spot. Yeah, Marvel Snap took
- 15:02Speaker 2: the mobile gaming by storm the first year that they
- 15:06Speaker 2: were created. It's been you know, up and down for
- 15:12Speaker 2: the last year and a half, but that first year
- 15:16Speaker 2: was the golden years for that game. So attaching bite
- 15:21Speaker 2: Edance and new Verse, here is very high in demand
- 15:26Speaker 2: mobile game wise, and I think that is very very cool.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I would say that I'm going to try to not
- 15:41Speaker 2: immediately throw money at this game, but I will download
- 15:47Speaker 2: it and I will play it. I know that Taylor
- 15:55Speaker 2: over at gig first, Uh, he was a little sour
- 15:59Speaker 2: that this news came out and not something like extremely big,
- 16:03Speaker 2: you know, Triple A game wise or whatever. But I'm
- 16:09Speaker 2: willing to bet he's also going to give it a try.
- 16:12Speaker 2: So you know, I'll be here, of course, at the
- 16:18Speaker 2: Star Wars Alliance on any non social media if you
- 16:21Speaker 2: want to talk about it with me, I will more
- 16:23Speaker 2: than willingly talk about it with you, as well as
- 16:27Speaker 2: in the yeek first discord. So if you're excited just
- 16:32Speaker 2: like I am, you know, I'm more than willing. Like
- 16:36Speaker 2: if I know with these types of games they do
- 16:39Speaker 2: things like guilds and teams and things like that, maybe
- 16:43Speaker 2: we can, you know, make a guild for Star Wars Alliance.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I think that would be a lot of fun.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah, except all that went in one ear out the other,
- 16:51Speaker 3: because all of it's way above my head. I avoid
- 16:55Speaker 3: I'm trying to play less on my phone so.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Well, and that's why I think it's great that it's
- 17:01Speaker 2: for PC as well. Yeah, because if it gets too much,
- 17:08Speaker 2: if I'm on if I find myself on my phone
- 17:10Speaker 2: too much, I will most likely delete it off my phone,
- 17:14Speaker 2: but I will download it on my computer so that way, hey,
- 17:18Speaker 2: I'll play it while I'm on my computer, but I
- 17:20Speaker 2: can walk away from it, you know. Yeah, so I
- 17:24Speaker 2: think that's good as well. But also these the best
- 17:27Speaker 2: part about these card games is that they are very strategic.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It makes your brain, you know, work a little bit,
- 17:35Speaker 2: and that's why I like it. It keeps me like
- 17:38Speaker 2: going for it. I know a lot of people can
- 17:45Speaker 2: just like turn off their brains and play games, but
- 17:48Speaker 2: like strategic games, just like I love strategic games, and
- 17:53Speaker 2: it helps me a lot with my ADHD brain.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I'm not judging sitting here at crochet to help my
- 18:02Speaker 3: adhd ADHD braind focus.
- 18:05Speaker 2: So now that is it for the video game news.
- 18:15Speaker 2: We have uh one thing but.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Not really news, but like, yeah, it's interesting. So says
- 18:27Speaker 3: in an interview that she has heard about the hunt
- 18:29Speaker 3: for Ben solo and we quote love to see it happen.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I think this is just putting more fuel to the flame.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I'm totally fine with it. Travis is also completely okay
- 18:46Speaker 2: with it. He's the one that shared it into our chat,
- 18:49Speaker 2: which I thought was funny. Yeah like this, I think no.
- 18:54Speaker 3: I shared it. He just responded with.
- 18:56Speaker 2: The okay, okay, okay. I just think that, you know,
- 19:03Speaker 2: it's just gonna take a little bit longer, just just
- 19:06Speaker 2: a few more pokes, a few more pokes, a few
- 19:08Speaker 2: more prods, like for this to be like basically our
- 19:13Speaker 2: Snyder Cut, I think is hilarious. Yeah, because again, like
- 19:19Speaker 2: I will always, I will always remind people that everybody
- 19:23Speaker 2: called the Snyder Cut a pipe dream and then it happened. So,
- 19:28Speaker 2: you know, I think anything is possible. I think if
- 19:34Speaker 2: you again just poking prod. We know that Bob is
- 19:44Speaker 2: most likely not gonna be at Disney for too much longer.
- 19:50Speaker 2: You know, there's still a lot of talks of like
- 19:51Speaker 2: who's gonna take over when he retires. There's still a
- 19:54Speaker 2: lot of people that are saying, who said he's retiring,
- 19:59Speaker 2: But we'll see, we'll see. Did Yeah that's what That's
- 20:03Speaker 2: what I mean. But you know, there's I think there
- 20:06Speaker 2: is a lot of fear quote unquote of him being like, yeah,
- 20:13Speaker 2: I did say I was gonna retire, but never mind. Yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 2: you know, and that would be kind of a jerk move.
- 20:20Speaker 2: But I think he will. I think he will. Here's yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 2: here's here's crossing our fingers because I think that's the
- 20:30Speaker 2: only way we're gonna get the hunt for Ben solo.
- 20:35Speaker 2: So which one of these do you want to talk
- 20:37Speaker 2: about first? Do you want to talk about season three?
- 20:40Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah? I was like, which one? Wait, we already
- 20:42Speaker 3: talked about it? No. Sorry, See, this is what happened.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I picked up my phone to text Matt because I
- 20:50Speaker 3: remember Wake Up dead Man is coming on on Friday,
- 20:52Speaker 3: and so I was.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Texting, is this Friday?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Yeah, It's coming out on Netflix this Friday. So I'm
- 20:57Speaker 3: texting him and I was like, because Forday Nights is
- 21:00Speaker 3: typically his game night, mind name him? And I was like,
- 21:05Speaker 3: remember Friday night, you're booked, like and I got distracted.
- 21:09Speaker 3: This is why, So I can't pick up anything else, guys.
- 21:14Speaker 2: So yes, uh, we're going on to our main topics,
- 21:22Speaker 2: Season three or Path of the Lightsaber? Which do you think?
- 21:35Speaker 2: Because again the same I think, even though it's only
- 21:38Speaker 2: seven episodes, we're not going to go through every episode.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I think, if if anything, we'll talk about our our favorites,
- 21:47Speaker 2: what we thought of the entire series. Because this was
- 21:50Speaker 2: the finale of the post.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Credit quotes, there was a post credit end quotes like
- 21:59Speaker 3: the being seen.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, there was a time jump. We'll say
- 22:04Speaker 2: that there was a time jump, but let's just go
- 22:09Speaker 2: let's go ahead and jump there. Then we'll go ahead
- 22:11Speaker 2: and talk about uh Young Jedi Adventures.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Okay, let's do it. Uh So, guys, this dropped December
- 22:23Speaker 3: eighth on Disney Plus and Disney Jr. It is seven episodes,
- 22:29Speaker 3: and it's six two parter episodes, and the finale is
- 22:34Speaker 3: a full thirty minute episode, which is kind of standard
- 22:37Speaker 3: to what they've done previously. So everybody returns, but you
- 22:43Speaker 3: do kind of have a new villain kind of sort
- 22:46Speaker 3: of in the midst of this season because Cyrus I
- 22:53Speaker 3: think it is his name, aka aka Table turned over
- 23:00Speaker 3: a relatively new leaf in his setup, so you need
- 23:04Speaker 3: a kind of villain.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Mm hmm, and let's talk about that real quick. So
- 23:12Speaker 2: Table war For the last two seasons, he was the
- 23:20Speaker 2: main villain of season one, kind of a side villain
- 23:26Speaker 2: and Tag not not the true antagonists of season two
- 23:29Speaker 2: because there was like the pirates and stuff that he
- 23:33Speaker 2: also got, but there was an ongoing story with uh
- 23:40Speaker 2: Cyrus in Tabor. How did you feel about the ending
- 23:47Speaker 2: of that story.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I didn't mind it. I would have wished with how
- 23:56Speaker 3: few episodes they had the season that they would have
- 24:00Speaker 3: kept up a little bit of consistency in that last
- 24:02Speaker 3: episode could have really been the defining moment. I think
- 24:08Speaker 3: with Tabor versus bringing in a new villain who gets
- 24:13Speaker 3: his own kind of redemption arc at the end, that
- 24:18Speaker 3: would have been my preference.
- 24:19Speaker 2: What about you, I really well, And the thing was,
- 24:24Speaker 2: what I was going to tell you is that the
- 24:29Speaker 2: I think that the table episode was going to be
- 24:32Speaker 2: my favorite episode until I saw the post credits scene
- 24:37Speaker 2: of the final episode that really kind of hammered it
- 24:45Speaker 2: as my favorite episode. Yeah, because because of the implications
- 24:51Speaker 2: that it has for the future. And with this I
- 24:59Speaker 2: the there's three episodes, I felt like we're just super
- 25:02Speaker 2: quick and I didn't really get a whole lot out
- 25:05Speaker 2: of it, which I absolutely love because like and the
- 25:10Speaker 2: reason why I say I love it is because Amberln
- 25:14Speaker 2: is going through a phase that if she doesn't choose
- 25:18Speaker 2: what we watch, she doesn't like it. So she recognizes
- 25:26Speaker 2: every single opening of every show that she watches, so
- 25:31Speaker 2: the first three seconds if they are not recognizable, she
- 25:35Speaker 2: immediately looks at me or Abby starts quivering her lip
- 25:38Speaker 2: and says, I don't like it.
- 25:39Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I don't like it, and I'm like tough love girl.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I have to watch this for the podcast, so we're
- 25:46Speaker 2: just gonna watch this and she she pouts and she
- 25:50Speaker 2: pounts and she pouts, and then all of a sudden,
- 25:52Speaker 2: She'll started getting into it.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And the episode with Bell and Imber, the musical episode.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I did love that episode.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Which I loved that episode. The moment Belle started to play,
- 26:13Speaker 2: I saw at the corner of my eye Amberlin was
- 26:15Speaker 2: just like grooving and dancing, and I was like, all right,
- 26:21Speaker 2: all right, but like that was I think that was
- 26:27Speaker 2: my overall favorite. I enjoyed the growth of these characters,
- 26:42Speaker 2: even excluding the last two minutes of the finale, but like,
- 26:47Speaker 2: genuinely you could tell there was a maturity with these
- 26:54Speaker 2: characters between season two and season three.
- 26:57Speaker 3: It is because you see, there's a lot less issues
- 27:01Speaker 3: for Kai in this regard and he because Kai, like
- 27:05Speaker 3: we've talked about in previous reviews, is kind of like
- 27:08Speaker 3: your audience character, Like, hey, you're gonna learn your lesson
- 27:11Speaker 3: from Kai today, and sometimes it's Nobes and sometimes it's
- 27:18Speaker 3: less so, but like most of the time it's Kai.
- 27:23Speaker 3: And Kai really felt like he took a step up
- 27:25Speaker 3: from what he had been doing, and I really dug
- 27:29Speaker 3: that because obviously this is a kid's show, so kid's
- 27:34Speaker 3: not gonna get as frustrated for this. But as the
- 27:36Speaker 3: adult watching, you're like, Kai, when are you gonna learn
- 27:39Speaker 3: because you're dumb? Yeah, But like at the end of
- 27:43Speaker 3: the day, like it is a kid show, so I
- 27:45Speaker 3: can recognize that it's not a valid criticism because kids
- 27:49Speaker 3: show in that regard. So I do think kids are smart.
- 27:53Speaker 3: But I there's so much growth and I love how
- 27:58Speaker 3: they're adventuring out passed the usual bounds. But we got
- 28:02Speaker 3: to return to some favorite places. We got to return
- 28:07Speaker 3: to the snow planet, we got we got to enjoy
- 28:10Speaker 3: to new we got to go to Naboo, Like, yeah,
- 28:14Speaker 3: we saw Naboo, Like I love that.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I I really enjoyed all of the places, and you
- 28:24Speaker 2: kind of could tell right that, Like I think maybe
- 28:29Speaker 2: midway through I want to say, episode three or four,
- 28:35Speaker 2: it got to the point where I'm like, Okay, we've
- 28:38Speaker 2: seen every character from the previous seasons. Mm hmmm, this
- 28:45Speaker 2: is like we're hitting all the high notes, you know,
- 28:48Speaker 2: yeah before before the sendoff. There is one character that
- 28:56Speaker 2: we did not see this season, and I'm very curious why.
- 29:03Speaker 2: If you remember Master no, no, uh uh. I think
- 29:09Speaker 2: she She may have been in season one. Definitely in
- 29:13Speaker 2: season two, the the pirate scrapper person who had a
- 29:22Speaker 2: history with uh Nash's mom. Do you remember her last
- 29:29Speaker 2: season the blonde the short haired blonde woman kind of
- 29:35Speaker 2: had like a Han Solo esque get up with a jacket.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I think that was the one who like was flirting
- 29:43Speaker 3: with the Master. Is that who you're talking about?
- 29:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, actually yeah, m hmm. Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 3: She definitely wasn't in here, but I didn't think the
- 29:52Speaker 3: Master was in here a time until.
- 29:57Speaker 2: But she was in the final episode. She was sit
- 30:00Speaker 2: in the entire season until the final episode because she
- 30:04Speaker 2: actually becomes the true master of one of our three heroes,
- 30:10Speaker 2: which she's uh Liz's Master.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Now Liz's Master is the pad one from the guy
- 30:19Speaker 3: on Bat two? What yeah?
- 30:25Speaker 2: Really?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Yeah, so Wes is the Master's pad one from to
- 30:31Speaker 3: new Liz's Master is the one who was the pad
- 30:34Speaker 3: one on Bat two, and then Belle is Kai's Master.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I love that. By the way, Let's just hold the
- 30:41Speaker 2: freaking phone real quick. Let's just I've been trying to
- 30:44Speaker 2: avoid talking about it. Let's just talk about it, because
- 30:47Speaker 2: like my my initial uh the title of this episode
- 30:54Speaker 2: the future of Star Wars question mark because both of
- 31:00Speaker 2: these entities that we're talking about young Jedi adventures as
- 31:06Speaker 2: well as Paths of Lightsaber, they are continuing on parts
- 31:13Speaker 2: of the timeline that are unexplored. Therefore future esque projects
- 31:19Speaker 2: possibly for us. We know that the High Republic is
- 31:25Speaker 2: not ending, right, we know that's true. There's going to
- 31:29Speaker 2: be other comics that come out with this. The fact
- 31:32Speaker 2: that they took the time to animate these characters all
- 31:37Speaker 2: grown up again, I say, all grown up. They are
- 31:40Speaker 2: like young adults closer. Yeah, probably to like truly like Anakin,
- 31:48Speaker 2: like wise in Attack of the Clones. Like I think
- 31:56Speaker 2: when I saw I, okay seeing freaking Nubs being the big,
- 32:05Speaker 2: the big teddy bear that he is now, I love it.
- 32:08Speaker 2: He is so huge and fluffy. I love it.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Especially curious why they did why they did the Nubs
- 32:20Speaker 3: episode with Wes, and it's purely to set up that
- 32:23Speaker 3: relationship right there. That's all that is is hey, Like
- 32:29Speaker 3: Wes has kind of helped all three of them, but
- 32:31Speaker 3: now we're only going to include Wes in the episode
- 32:34Speaker 3: where it makes sense like for the future. Basically, Yeah,
- 32:40Speaker 3: I love that. Like as we had our uh opinions
- 32:47Speaker 3: on Wes in the last season, we felt that some
- 32:52Speaker 3: of his appearances didn't really fit in the sense of,
- 32:58Speaker 3: like we didn't like the precedent of the white savior
- 33:04Speaker 3: type of motif that he was fitting into. Here, it
- 33:09Speaker 3: fits more so as somebody who is experiencing the lessons
- 33:17Speaker 3: of being trained himself as a padawan teaching a youngling.
- 33:22Speaker 3: This is something that is normalized in the Jedi academy
- 33:27Speaker 3: and the all in just all around the Jedi upbringing
- 33:31Speaker 3: right to single it out and then show it at
- 33:37Speaker 3: the very end. I love the fact that, oh they
- 33:42Speaker 3: did this on purpose. Yeah.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Then we see Liz and she is going through an
- 33:50Speaker 2: amazing training course, which I love for the fact that,
- 33:55Speaker 2: like we hardly ever see Liz in like hardcore combat.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah, she's been relegated because Kai is the hardcore combat person. Yeah,
- 34:05Speaker 3: getting to see her on her own in that regard
- 34:07Speaker 3: was awesome.
- 34:08Speaker 2: But she is normally the one who is talented with
- 34:15Speaker 2: communicating with creatures and we.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Still get to see her do that, which is awesome.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Like I love that West and Nubs are working in
- 34:24Speaker 3: plant specific areas and then this and I can't ever
- 34:28Speaker 3: remember the Catawan's name from Betu.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I can't remember her name either.
- 34:41Speaker 3: But for doing animal based things.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Like we see her go into like she has
- 34:48Speaker 2: like a like a baby lizard sque creature and giving
- 34:51Speaker 2: it to its mother. But then we see Kai and
- 34:57Speaker 2: I love this because in the episode, in this exact episode,
- 35:03Speaker 2: when the final battle is taking place, Kai finds his
- 35:09Speaker 2: original blade that he lost in the very first episode
- 35:16Speaker 2: and he starts to fight with it. He dual wields lightsabers.
- 35:21Speaker 3: He goes, I think I need something to help me,
- 35:25Speaker 3: and he looks at it because he got it back
- 35:28Speaker 3: in the last season and so it's been sitting on
- 35:30Speaker 3: his belt in like a pocket, and he pulls it
- 35:33Speaker 3: out and is like, I need something to help me.
- 35:36Speaker 3: That's right, Yeah, and so he starts fighting with it,
- 35:39Speaker 3: and dude, I love this, but he gives it back
- 35:42Speaker 3: to Yoda at the end. We'll give Yoda's blade back.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Here's the thing. You never see Yoda take it.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Oh, that's true, but we also know that Kai was like,
- 35:56Speaker 3: these aren't real lightsabers yet.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yes, that and are real, are real. But when I
- 36:03Speaker 2: saw Kai dual wielding blades, I said, this is a foreshadow.
- 36:08Speaker 2: The next time we see Kai, whether it be in
- 36:10Speaker 2: a comic, whether it be in an animated film, whether anything,
- 36:14Speaker 2: it could even be in freaking like actual toy product
- 36:19Speaker 2: in our world. I bet you anything, we're gonna see
- 36:21Speaker 2: him with dual blades, and to see him the very
- 36:25Speaker 2: first frame you see him in is in a battlestance
- 36:28Speaker 2: with with a blue and a green blade.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I love that they're different colors.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I freaked out. I freaked out so hard, like Amberlyn
- 36:39Speaker 2: even looked at me like what's wrong. I was so excited.
- 36:44Speaker 2: And then the very next frame when you actually see Bell,
- 36:50Speaker 2: I freaked out even more. Knowing that Bell becomes a
- 36:58Speaker 2: master to train Kai is the greatest thing ever. Not
- 37:08Speaker 2: only that, in that same fight, we also see Burry.
- 37:15Speaker 2: So they are just like a trio that is going
- 37:21Speaker 2: like I'm head cannoning that they are just a like
- 37:27Speaker 2: a trifecta of bros that just hang out all the
- 37:31Speaker 2: time and go on missions together. This is a It's
- 37:36Speaker 2: it's perfect for me. It's absolutely yeah.
- 37:38Speaker 3: And Wikipedia has this set, it says Young Jen Amateur.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Season three takes place after the season two episode Yoda Rescue,
- 37:51Speaker 3: which features the mission to rant Tarnum, which is when
- 37:57Speaker 3: Yoda went to the Moon Vrant Turnham alongside Elders of
- 38:05Speaker 3: the Path Elder Tromac in two thirty two bby Uh
- 38:09Speaker 3: to retrieve a night Hill specific artifact before Marcion Roe.
- 38:14Speaker 3: It says season three is also set while Bell Zettafhar
- 38:17Speaker 3: a Padawan and still with Imbert, placing it prior to
- 38:20Speaker 3: the destruction of Starlight Beacon. Star Wars timeline states these
- 38:24Speaker 3: events to two thirty two and two thirty bby, respectively,
- 38:28Speaker 3: meaning season three takes place between those years. I don't
- 38:31Speaker 3: know if I agree with the fact that it would
- 38:35Speaker 3: be taking place before Starlite Beacon because Bell Zetaphar is
- 38:38Speaker 3: still padawan and he still has Imber in Phase three, yes,
- 38:43Speaker 3: because not in Phase three, but like yeah, because.
- 38:47Speaker 2: He is given knighthood in Phase three.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Yeah. So I don't I see what it's saying now
- 38:55Speaker 3: with destruction of Starlight Beacon. I was taking that as
- 38:58Speaker 3: like before the night Hill crisis, so it takes place
- 39:02Speaker 3: somewhere in that time frame between Light of the Jedi
- 39:07Speaker 3: and Fallen Star. Yes, I don't know why we couldn't
- 39:10Speaker 3: have gotten a night Hill reference in this just as
- 39:13Speaker 3: like a one off.
- 39:15Speaker 2: I think more so because like, hey, that's like too dark,
- 39:21Speaker 2: you know kind of thing. Though that's for the.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Adult call it like a raider, like you just say
- 39:26Speaker 3: the Night Hill Raiders, Like I mean, they used raiders
- 39:28Speaker 3: all the time in this.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't know.
- 39:33Speaker 3: I still really enjoyed the season. I loved the inding
- 39:38Speaker 3: time jump thing, though I did find it a little
- 39:41Speaker 3: weird that Wes was sleeping on Nubs in one of
- 39:45Speaker 3: the shots in the in the time jump. I thought
- 39:49Speaker 3: that was a little strange.
- 39:50Speaker 2: It was a little but it's also just like he
- 39:53Speaker 2: Nubs is so big, you know. Yeah, so I didn't
- 39:57Speaker 2: really take it as like any thing too much. I
- 40:01Speaker 2: did love at the very end we did see Cyrus
- 40:07Speaker 2: and Nash both grown up as well.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I appreciated that because I felt like Nash kind of
- 40:14Speaker 3: got left out this season.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I was. I was really excited when she finally did
- 40:20Speaker 2: show up and I think episode like three, three or four,
- 40:25Speaker 2: But I was also very worried that, like, hey, where
- 40:28Speaker 2: is she? Where is are they just going to not
- 40:31Speaker 2: present her in this season, like because she even had
- 40:36Speaker 2: like a bit of an episode on her own, yeah,
- 40:39Speaker 2: her like getting the violin to her to her mother, yep,
- 40:47Speaker 2: I thought that was a very fun episode.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Also, it was definitely like a lot of these episodes
- 40:53Speaker 3: are super fun and they're super simple, which makes it
- 40:57Speaker 3: just kind of coasting almost through the rest of it. Uh,
- 41:01Speaker 3: not coasting coasting the wrong word, but like it's a
- 41:04Speaker 3: super easy watch. I just I'm still stuck on the
- 41:08Speaker 3: fact that they introduced a new bad guy this season.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I would have rather had no bad guy, and then
- 41:17Speaker 3: Tabor kind of popped back up in the earlier episodes
- 41:19Speaker 3: and then he's resolved. Kind Of I wish they had
- 41:22Speaker 3: re orchestrated that, because even though this is a kid show,
- 41:27Speaker 3: you still want to connect with your characters, and you've
- 41:29Speaker 3: connected with Tabor all this time, and then you kind
- 41:32Speaker 3: of sidelight him for the final season.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Like, I didn't really like REC, especially the the main
- 41:41Speaker 2: story of REC is the power of friendship. And people
- 41:49Speaker 2: know how I feel about this. When you when you
- 41:52Speaker 2: when you literally just throw the problem solving to the
- 42:00Speaker 2: hour of love or the power of friendship, I think
- 42:05Speaker 2: that's sometimes a little silly. And the and the reason
- 42:08Speaker 2: why I think that's silly is kids have the capability
- 42:13Speaker 2: of critical thinking, and when you throw something as simple
- 42:18Speaker 2: as the power of love or the power of friendship. Yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 2: it teaches a lesson, but you're not you're not letting
- 42:26Speaker 2: your kids think, you're not letting your audience think. And
- 42:33Speaker 2: so with rec And I saw it coming because every
- 42:37Speaker 2: single episode, Oh I just want new friends. Oh here's
- 42:40Speaker 2: my new friends. Oh here's my new friends. I was like, Oh,
- 42:43Speaker 2: I wonder how we're going to solve this problem. Yeah.
- 42:49Speaker 3: I did think it would have been cool because of
- 42:52Speaker 3: how they did how they worked with Apex, because Apex
- 42:57Speaker 3: is really like the villain of the hes in like
- 43:00Speaker 3: Final Big Bad, Big Boss, whatever you want to call it.
- 43:04Speaker 3: I thought it would have been cool because his design
- 43:07Speaker 3: is very similar to the droid from uh Star Wars
- 43:13Speaker 3: Droids in the comic, and I thought maybe there was
- 43:18Speaker 3: a connection there because I didn't finish Droids, but I
- 43:22Speaker 3: remembered reading that they were taking it and this is
- 43:29Speaker 3: like some legendary droid controller who wants to free the
- 43:32Speaker 3: droids kind of thing.
- 43:35Speaker 2: So so in my mind, he had a lot of similarities.
- 43:42Speaker 2: And hopefully this doesn't freeze your your side, but he
- 43:50Speaker 2: reminded me of HK forty seven. This is a character
- 43:57Speaker 2: that is from Knights of the Old Republic. He is
- 44:00Speaker 2: an evil droid in the Night's the Old Republic. Sorry,
- 44:06Speaker 2: I don't know why I said the High Republic, but
- 44:10Speaker 2: it's a character that I immediately was like when I
- 44:15Speaker 2: saw Apex, I was like, oh, I wonder if they're
- 44:17Speaker 2: putting any reference to this character. And I would have
- 44:28Speaker 2: loved a little bit more of a hands on like
- 44:34Speaker 2: rebooting of the character, like legitimately, instead of Wreck literally
- 44:39Speaker 2: looking at him and said I want new friends. Just
- 44:42Speaker 2: please give me the bracelet or give me the switch
- 44:45Speaker 2: or whatever, and he just like like there was no
- 44:47Speaker 2: indication like color of his eyes changing or anything. It
- 44:52Speaker 2: was just okay, here you go. Like there was no
- 44:55Speaker 2: visual cue that made you really think that he changed
- 44:59Speaker 2: his way, which I think probably would have helped for
- 45:04Speaker 2: especially younger folks that are watching this show. But yeah,
- 45:09Speaker 2: I like it's over and done with. I think that
- 45:12Speaker 2: this season was good enough. Again referencing the last two
- 45:18Speaker 2: minutes of this season overall, and but like I understand
- 45:27Speaker 2: the decision to be like, hey, because Disney is only
- 45:32Speaker 2: giving us this many episodes, we got to make things
- 45:37Speaker 2: a little simpler. Yeah, which is why I also thought
- 45:41Speaker 2: like it was a little odd that like two episodes
- 45:44Speaker 2: back to back were music based, and I was just like,
- 45:48Speaker 2: oh okay, but like it might have been a little
- 45:51Speaker 2: easier for them to jumble those togethers are like when
- 45:56Speaker 2: in the writing room, they're like music and they're like,
- 45:59Speaker 2: oh okay, we'll do that for two episodes.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Yeah, So the droid I was thinking about from Dark Droid.
- 46:07Speaker 3: The correct series title from Star Wars Comics is Dark Droids,
- 46:12Speaker 3: and the droid's name was Ajax Sigma, so not Apex.
- 46:19Speaker 3: But I was like, dude, very similar here. But yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 3: I enjoyed the season. I thought it was super cute.
- 46:33Speaker 3: I love again going back to I love that we
- 46:36Speaker 3: actually got to see the characters grow in this instance
- 46:41Speaker 3: lists especially with who becomes her master, Like with the
- 46:46Speaker 3: Hollow Camp incident. I thought that was a great episode, like, hey,
- 46:50Speaker 3: get off your phone and pay attention to what's going
- 46:52Speaker 3: around you dudes. Basically, So like I'm moved so much
- 47:01Speaker 3: back to like analog and stuff, like I've got post
- 47:04Speaker 3: it notes everywhere on my monitors, like hey do this,
- 47:08Speaker 3: Hey do that? Like so I really I really enjoyed
- 47:13Speaker 3: the season. It like you said, it was good, Yeah,
- 47:16Speaker 3: but it's a kids show, that's all. It needs to be.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's something that genuinely if like we have
- 47:25Speaker 2: nothing else to watch, I'm totally okay with putting that
- 47:30Speaker 2: back on for another, you know, two or three episodes
- 47:33Speaker 2: every now and again.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Yeah. I started the shorts with Mara from season one
- 47:38Speaker 3: and she was actually like, this is the first time
- 47:41Speaker 3: she's paid attention any think. I know it's because the colors,
- 47:44Speaker 3: because I've tried to stick with like older TV shows,
- 47:47Speaker 3: but I was like, Okay, I need to watch this
- 47:49Speaker 3: kind of thing, and I needed something to keep her attention.
- 47:52Speaker 3: I was like Star Wars. Yay, she actually paid attention.
- 47:57Speaker 2: So that's awesome.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Mhmm.
- 48:02Speaker 2: But I think that is it for the Young Jedi Adventures.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Now again, there is going to be a comic series
- 48:11Speaker 2: that does come out. I think is it already out.
- 48:17Speaker 2: We will look into that as well. If we, you know,
- 48:23Speaker 2: need something to fill in, uh you know, a random
- 48:28Speaker 2: fifth week month or whatever, we will look into it.
- 48:33Speaker 2: But let's go ahead and also jump into I totally
- 48:36Speaker 2: don't have it with me right now. I loved it.
- 48:38Speaker 2: In the Other Room. Path of the Lightsaber Volume m Ruiz,
- 48:46Speaker 2: Yes by Kenny Ruiz. I'm gonna say volume one because
- 48:53Speaker 2: this definitely ends on a cliffhanger.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Yes, there is supposed to be three of these stories.
- 49:01Speaker 3: H And I really dug If you look at the
- 49:05Speaker 3: back of the the manga, you have his biography right there. Yeah,
- 49:14Speaker 3: and then you have a little comic panel.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I love this. I was gonna bring it up. I
- 49:19Speaker 2: was gonna bring it up because it shows his inspiration.
- 49:23Speaker 2: It shows that he literally has lived through every single
- 49:28Speaker 2: piece of Star Wars, all three trilogies, and it inspired
- 49:33Speaker 2: him to create this story.
- 49:36Speaker 3: And he does the art. He does the story like Brava, Brava, Like,
- 49:43Speaker 3: yes he is.
- 49:44Speaker 2: He is a resident of Spain. And to get technical,
- 49:52Speaker 2: you're gonna wanna move up the glasses here dealing with manga.
- 49:57Speaker 2: He is the writer and artist that makes him a mangaka.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Is the correct zaka? Yes, is the correct terminology terminology
- 50:07Speaker 2: for the writer slash artists of a manga? It is. Yeah.
- 50:15Speaker 2: But Katie, why don't you go ahead and give us
- 50:18Speaker 2: a like quick overview of this story kind of where
- 50:23Speaker 2: it takes place as well, and then we'll talk about
- 50:26Speaker 2: some of our favorite parts of this.
- 50:28Speaker 3: So this takes place, This takes place. I believe it's
- 50:36Speaker 3: right after the Lash Jedi around that time frame because
- 50:42Speaker 3: Supreme Leader is Kylo Renn in this story. So the
- 50:47Speaker 3: correct if you're looking for the year, it would be
- 50:50Speaker 3: thirty four Abu y, which is act the Battle of Java,
- 50:54Speaker 3: but so much takes place in thirty four aby that
- 50:57Speaker 3: includes the foreshe Lakans and the Last Jedi. So to
- 51:01Speaker 3: be accurate, this happens after the Last Jedi. I have
- 51:06Speaker 3: it on my bookshelf. It is after a crash of Fate.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Is in the house Young Legacy comic is where Uteni
- 51:15Speaker 3: has this in the timeline just where everybody like trying
- 51:19Speaker 3: to put this go. Where does this happen? So this
- 51:22Speaker 3: takes place after that we get the Battle of Create
- 51:24Speaker 3: kind of summary and everything. And this tackles a new
- 51:27Speaker 3: character who basically works on a salvage crew and the
- 51:34Speaker 3: salvage crew has been hired to find something to find
- 51:38Speaker 3: an old ship basically, and two of the members of
- 51:44Speaker 3: the salvage crew one was at the Battle of Indoor
- 51:47Speaker 3: where he witnessed quote Luke Skywalker take down all of
- 51:52Speaker 3: the Empire in one single blow. And then our main
- 51:59Speaker 3: character whose name is ni Yoka, not Star. I think
- 52:10Speaker 3: Nyoka is her name. And both of them are kind
- 52:15Speaker 3: of going back and forth between the Resistance and telling
- 52:19Speaker 3: stories of the rebellion, and they find the ship and
- 52:25Speaker 3: the captain is like, no, the Resistance doesn't exist. We're
- 52:28Speaker 3: just here to make money kind of thing. She tells them, hey,
- 52:32Speaker 3: we're actually working for the First Order, and they both
- 52:34Speaker 3: kind of freak out and are like how could you like, no, no, no,
- 52:38Speaker 3: no no. And so the rest of the story encompasses
- 52:42Speaker 3: niw Yoka finding a lightsaber on the ship and the
- 52:48Speaker 3: First Order representative, which happens to be a Wrin perspective member,
- 52:57Speaker 3: a Knight of the Wren or Knights of Wrin perspective member.
- 53:03Speaker 2: He's not the Knights of Wren yet.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Correct, He's a prospective or prospect Yeah, and I like him.
- 53:13Speaker 3: I think his character's cool. I don't know if the
- 53:16Speaker 3: manga art truly benefits the details for what I want, Yeah,
- 53:22Speaker 3: any character.
- 53:23Speaker 2: And that's kind of like one thing that, uh is
- 53:27Speaker 2: a small critique of mine. And this comes, you know,
- 53:34Speaker 2: as somebody who I have read a lot of mangas before.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I've had a very large critique of the way that
- 53:42Speaker 2: Disney Slash Marvel is trying to adapt their stories into mangas.
- 53:48Speaker 2: They're you know, they still do it the quote unquote
- 53:51Speaker 2: correct way of reading a book when you're actually supposed
- 53:54Speaker 2: to do it the opposite way. That's something that is
- 53:57Speaker 2: bother some of me, just as a manga purist whatever.
- 54:04Speaker 2: But also one thing that just just because it happens
- 54:11Speaker 2: the way that it does, every artist is different, and
- 54:15Speaker 2: because this is black and white. Sometimes black and white
- 54:21Speaker 2: can be absolutely amazing for details, and sometimes it just
- 54:25Speaker 2: doesn't do well with details.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Yeah, this was.
- 54:28Speaker 2: One of those times that it didn't do amazing for details.
- 54:34Speaker 2: There was a moment where they find the ship inside
- 54:38Speaker 2: of the frozen cavern and a lot of stuff happened.
- 54:44Speaker 2: I got a little lost in the art and I
- 54:47Speaker 2: was like, oh, okay, I'm trying to picture there being
- 54:50Speaker 2: a ship there, but it kind of looks like a
- 54:52Speaker 2: ship but kind of doesn't. And so yeah, like it's
- 54:56Speaker 2: it's a small nitpick of mine, but I I still
- 55:00Speaker 2: enjoyed the story and I love the flow of it.
- 55:05Speaker 2: One thing that is a product of mangas that I
- 55:12Speaker 2: feel like could have done a little bit better in
- 55:15Speaker 2: mangas because they don't have well sometimes they do thought boxes,
- 55:22Speaker 2: narration boxes. This wasn't This wasn't a book that used
- 55:30Speaker 2: narration boxes. Nioka spoke out loud on everything, and so
- 55:40Speaker 2: she was explaining a lot. She was the exposition for
- 55:45Speaker 2: a lot of things, and it bothered me a little bit.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Whereas if they would have placed it in a narration
- 55:54Speaker 2: box with her like initials or something indicating that she
- 55:58Speaker 2: is the one thinking these thoughts, I think would have
- 56:02Speaker 2: been a little bit better. But again, this may be
- 56:08Speaker 2: targeted for people who are not really big into mangas
- 56:12Speaker 2: and hoping to get into mangas. So therefore, like these
- 56:15Speaker 2: scenes where she's explaining, uh, she's she's a mechanic, so
- 56:22Speaker 2: her brain works differently. She likes to explain things the
- 56:27Speaker 2: way that, Hey, this is how I relate to this.
- 56:31Speaker 2: This is how I can really only understand the physics
- 56:36Speaker 2: of lightsabers, So this is how I'm gonna explain it.
- 56:39Speaker 2: I like that. I really enjoyed.
- 56:41Speaker 3: That, especially as somebody who is of the engineering mindset
- 56:45Speaker 3: and who I've always kind of especially with some of
- 56:48Speaker 3: the things that we've learned recently with like Sabine for instance, like, oh,
- 56:55Speaker 3: weilding a lightsaber, why is it heavier than I expected
- 56:58Speaker 3: it would be? Like these things draw you those questions,
- 57:01Speaker 3: and I loved exploring that in this regard like tracking
- 57:06Speaker 3: the path and learning how things work, like that's the
- 57:09Speaker 3: name of the game for engineers. So that really spoke
- 57:13Speaker 3: to me as somebody who thinks really the same way
- 57:15Speaker 3: as like, like my mom has always made fun of me,
- 57:19Speaker 3: but like one of the ways that I have explained
- 57:21Speaker 3: how my brain works is I was playing softball and
- 57:24Speaker 3: I hit a ball and it went down the first
- 57:27Speaker 3: base line, but it was like a soft dribbler, so
- 57:31Speaker 3: it stopped like halfway up, so somebody came and fielded it,
- 57:34Speaker 3: and literally in a split second, I said, Okay, I
- 57:37Speaker 3: could run into this person and get out, or I
- 57:41Speaker 3: can kind of get out of the way get to
- 57:44Speaker 3: the base and be out. Or I can get out
- 57:47Speaker 3: of the bass path and get to the base and
- 57:50Speaker 3: be safe. Or I could be called out of the
- 57:52Speaker 3: bass path. Like that's literally my brain said.
- 57:55Speaker 2: All you have to you have to make your options.
- 57:59Speaker 2: You have to know your options, especially in a quick
- 58:02Speaker 2: sport like baseball and softball. Agree with all of that.
- 58:13Speaker 3: So my mom has always made fun of me though,
- 58:15Speaker 3: because she's like, nobody understood what you did at all,
- 58:18Speaker 3: But you were safe somehow, and I was like, yeah,
- 58:20Speaker 3: it's because I said, Okay, I got one out of
- 58:23Speaker 3: four chances to be safe, so I might as well
- 58:25Speaker 3: take it. It is like, but that's how my brain works,
- 58:31Speaker 3: and so I really dug the Yoka walking through Well, crap,
- 58:36Speaker 3: that's not how that worked, like because I got to
- 58:39Speaker 3: this point and.
- 58:40Speaker 2: It stopped, and again because of the mechanic brain. One
- 58:47Speaker 2: thing that I really appreciate is something that actually happens
- 58:54Speaker 2: in real life for I think most people, because again
- 59:00Speaker 2: we look at the stranger in the Acolyte and we're like,
- 59:04Speaker 2: ooh ah, he's a bad guy, but ooh ah, and
- 59:08Speaker 2: that's exactly what happens to Nyoka. In this book. We
- 59:12Speaker 2: have this this wren dude by the name of its
- 59:19Speaker 2: high Hi it's Hie, has this really cool kunai with
- 59:27Speaker 2: chain kind of mechanism. So if people don't know what
- 59:34Speaker 2: that is, it is basically a axe that has a
- 59:44Speaker 2: giant chain that he is able to move and manipulate
- 59:50Speaker 2: like a whip. Yeah, this is something that is very
- 59:53Speaker 2: common in the Japanese arts of fighting weaponry wise, and
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I actually follow somebody on TikTok that like regularly uses
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: this type of weapon to like break ice blocks and stuff.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: It's really cool, but I immediately knew what it was.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: But Nyoka has never seen this weapon, and so when
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: she sees that, she is observing it and she's like, wait,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: how does he do that? Oh? Well, by blocking the
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: resistance with this type of thing and this, he's actually
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: able to manipulate this, this and this. And then like
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: after she's done analyzing it, she's like, it's crazy and
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: despicable and destructive, but it's so beautiful, Like she understands that,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: like the beauty of the mechanical parts of the instrument,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: but she also knows and acknowledges, Hey, this is a
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: bad guy and he's doing very dark and scary things
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: with this type of weapon, which I, again, I really
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: appreciate that, But I what I also kind of I
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: laughed at throughout the entire thing. I want to know
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: the real story behind. Oh gosh, what's his name? U uh,
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Baron Baron.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: I had it right, I just had the letters misplaced.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Baron. He is saying, Oh, I was there at the
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Battle of Indoor, Oh Luke Skywalker, I saw single handedly,
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: you know, wipe everybody out. You know that with that itself. Okay,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: you know, I don't I don't know what kind of
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: spice you've been puffing, but we all know where Luke
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: actually was right, and so I want to know his
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: real story because he's like saying all of these like
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: half truths. But like when they found the lightsaber, she
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: wields it, she turns it on. As soon as she
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: turns it on, Baron's like, you're a Jedi, and I'm like,
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: that's not how that works. That's that's that's totally not
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: how that works. Yeah, But I love the like whimsical,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: like giddiness, like the childlike imagination that these two have
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: when they are together, because like she is like trying
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: to get like a handle on this lightsaber and they're
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: both freaking out, and like she almost accidentally, like just
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: almost decapitates him, and she's like, are you alive? He's like, yeah, barely.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: But they make some hilarious faces and it's so cut
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: and so fun, and.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: You imagine like if you were the one holding that
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: lightsaber and going, oh my gosh, I'm holding a lightsaber,
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: like you would be doing basically the exact same thing.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Oh oh, I even saw there was a video today
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: that I was just scrolling past. It was a parody
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: video that's like, oh, the largest real lightsaber, and like
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: he like turned it on and it was like legit
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: like maybe like two inches long, and like for a
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: split second he like looked at it at like pointed
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: it at his face, and I'm like, dude, like, what
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: are we doing here? Like to point it away from you, please,
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: But like I thought that was really fun, really cute.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: The one thing that I actually got annoyed at and
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: I'm actually not looking forward to for the next two books.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: A Tie has a droid and this droid r are
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: to zero.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: You got annoyed with his self destruct montage.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yes, it was funny the first two times. When it
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: happened a third and a fourth time, I was like, Okay,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: too much, too much for one book. If you if
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: you held those other two for the very next volume
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: and then do it another two or three times in
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: the last volume, okay, but when you do it too
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: many times. And also this book is what like nearly
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty pages I give or take. Wow,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: really okay, yeah, like the droid just he did it
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: too many times for my taste. But the fact that
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: A Tie showed some sort of like and it's more
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: so a like hey I need you, a like you
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: have important data, not like oh I need you in
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: a friendship type of way. But still he showed some
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: sort of like humanity when explaining that. So I was like, Okay,
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: maybe there's something there that will explore some other time.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: What did you think about Yindi, a girl who basically
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: is like Marianteka.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Was exactly yes, I I was. I was very interested
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: by her character. Okay, So she is introduced when a tie.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Immediately after a Tie has a conversation with Kylo Red
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: and he throws, uh, these like I guess this like
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: necklace or whatever.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like data cards.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Data cards that Nioka was wearing. And he says like, hey,
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: I'm looking for this woman. I need your visions. Where's
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: she gonna be? And she also explains like oh I
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: was I just had a dream it was you and
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Kylo Wrenn and like kind of like threatening them. And
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: I was like, okay, okay, so what is all this about?
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: And learning that she has these this ability for visions.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I I'm interested to know like where she came from.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Yeah, because like a tie and are are to zero
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: basically talk about her a little bit and are like, yeah,
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: like on her planet, she was basically an oracle and ye,
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: she can locate people via touch touching one of their objects.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Kind of small minor spoilers for or the Master of
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: Evil kind of reminded me of that tribe. Yeah, a
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: little bit, just a little bit, but yeah, I'm very
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: interested to know where she came from. More so like
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: how he got in possession of her more or less,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Because especially with like the little prison she's in basically
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: like that's what it feels like is Mario Santaca. And
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: there's a lot of Higher Republic references in this You
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Get a Way Seeker. There's references to an abyss that
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: the Way Seeker was kind of investigating and basically decided
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: to hold herself up in the ice over so nobody
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: could find this dark side abyss.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and like I'm I'm very curious because again, like
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: the episode is named the Future of Star Wars, like
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: a Tie told Kylo Wrinn, Hey, this is something that
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: we're looking for because this right, and he does mention, oh,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: this High Republic Jedi was hiding something to the point
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: that she got so afraid that she made her ship
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: a tomb. She did not want anybody else to know
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: what she had found. And so like I'm super excited,
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Like what kind of implication does that have? Like we
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: know even if Lucasfilm doesn't know, then Lucasfilm wants everything
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: to be cannon. So like these projects, the words that
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: you put inside of these projects holds weight. There's got
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: to be something to it, right, and so like, if
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: there's any implication that Kylo Wrinn, the First Order and
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: or the New Republic knows anything about what was in
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: the High Republic, like I want to see those implications,
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Like i want to see more of that, and so
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I'm really excited about what this means for the future
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: of other projects to be announced. We also get a montage,
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: the montage that I did love. There's a whole list
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: of old Jedi temples and they acknowledge, Hey, clearly some
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: of these temples are not going to be around, but
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: there may be something there that could lead you to
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: a Jedi master to teach you how to wheel a lightsaber.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: And you just go onto this mostage, next, next, next,
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: And it's crazy because then we get like we get
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: one frame that's like the first order, that's like attacking them.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: They're like next, next, next, Oh god a, like it
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: was so fun I thought that was really funny.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: It was it was super funny. And I felt like
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: one of the places was actually Alderon because they show
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: up and they're like in the middle of this like
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: asteroid store basically, and I wonder if that was supposed
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: to be Alderon, and they were like.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Oh crap, I could see that, actually I could. I
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: could see that.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: I thought that was unique. But they finally they come
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: down to this last place and it's called oh gosh,
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I already lost it, but they think it's a Jedi
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: temple and instead it is actually probably a temple that
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: has been modified for Royal Guard training. Yeah, basically Imperial
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Guard training. And this is our Chaidan is the name
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: of the planet, but.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: Which has a giant statue of Darth Vader Darth Vader,
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: which I really dug. I was like, Okay, this is
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: kind of cool. Now here's here's the thing that gets
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: a little iffy. Though. This was a place that was
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: created to train the Royal Guard. The Royal Guard technically
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: was not for Darth Vader. It was for Palpatine. Why
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: would there be a statue of Darth Vader. It's the
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: nippicky stuff that I have, but it is what it is.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: I think more so, Darth Vader was seen as this
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: all powerful right hand of Palpatine. He was the strongest
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: warrior of the Empire type of thing, and I think that.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: My head is in line with is is in that regard.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: He's a powerful warrior. There was probably some Jedi motifs
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: around the area that Palpatine was like, we must replace these,
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: and so they did. Later they did imperial symbols like
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: all that sort of thing. So I didn't think too
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: much about it. I did find it funny that he
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: was holding a lightsaber made of stone. That's it's just
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: kind of funny to me. I don't know why.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: How did you feel about because we're at that moment
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: uh Neoka using the force, especially with quote unquote the Force.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: I definitely believed it for a hot minute because I
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: felt like, we're say, how Star Wars has kind of
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: gone and this is not a bad thing in the slightest,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: but with how Star Wars has kind of progressed, I
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: felt like it was a moment that could definitely happen.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: But I did love that she was just like, you
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: know what, I'm gonna modify it. It's gonna be fine.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: And I love how freaking Baron was like, how dare
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: you ruin an ancient artifact such as a Jedi lightsaber? Right?
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: Which I thought was hilarious. But what I also love
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: is in that conversation we also get the actual impostor
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: of the Red Guard. His name was.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: It's here somewhere, Oh my goodness, Tobo Tobyson.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Also, I don't know why, but Tisan.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: I went looking for the Master of Evil guy because
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: I was like, that sounds really familiar, but it was not.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: It's not obviously because he he did.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: But the but the name was familiar to me when
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: I read Tyson, so oh it says here, oh Talsen. No,
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: I didn't mean Towsand I said, Tizona, See you're trying
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: to check me Google. But when we see him, of
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: course he's trying to defeat uh Neyoka. We learn that
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: his father was the actual Royal Guard and that the
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: First Order killed his father. Niyoka immediately wants to team up. Hey,
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: we have a mutual like person that we're entity that
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: we're trying to go towards and I need some sort
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: of trainer slash master. I really dug Barn being like, Yo,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: hold up, wait a minute, this dude is training in
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: the dark side, fear, hate, all of these things. This
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: is not the Jedi way, right, And we have our
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: opinions about the way that the Jedi trained and excluded
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: some emotional aspects of people's lives. Is this something that's
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: going to bite Neoka in the future or is this
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: something that will actually be beneficial? How do you feel.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: I don't feel like it's something that will fight her
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: because I feel like that's the path forward that Disney
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: is choosing to take with Star Wars in general. So,
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: and it was a big theme of the High Republic,
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: right because Tobu goes in after Baron says it and
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: is like, hey, like, fear is your home. Fear warns you,
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: keeps you where and shows you where to improve. You
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: never defeat fear, but you never run away. You stay
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: and face it. And I just love that quote because
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: it ties everything back in together, it pulls the Higher
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Republic into it. I definitely think this is the direction
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Disney wants to go with the Jedi order is Hey,
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: there is no Jedi. We are kind of changing the
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: way Jedi thinks basically with it.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: And that's what I was going to bring up, is
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: the fact that like we've had these overall conversations as well,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: not only in Star Wars, but in like media overall,
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: you know, referencing even that of Black Panther in the MCU.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: You look at your main villain and like they actually
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: start to make a little sense, and you're like, hold
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: on a second, how do I feel about this? And
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: I really dig that quote because there is truth in
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: everything that he's saying, and it makes the audience, it
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: makes the reader think, wait a second, this is what
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: I've heard is always bad in the perspective of the Jedi.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: How can this be beneficial? If the writer, of course
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: being Kenny Ruiz. Kenny Ruiz, Yeah, I hope that he
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: writes it in a way that's like, Hey, this is
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: how it is going to be beneficial, And this is
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: how we're also going to make our own boundaries of Hey,
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I can go this far, but I won't go past that,
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: And that's what I guess I was hoping out of
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: the High Republic. But they just unfortunately just ran out
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: of time with that. So I think that things can
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: be expanded on and we really just make it work
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: long term and we just keep playing in this grand
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: scheme of the universe because, like the Higher Republic authors
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: really did something great and so I would love to
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: see that continued, like it needs to.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Be one hundred percent. But they she agrees and they
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: are gonna team up. But that's the end of the book. Really,
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: I don't remember there being anything else after that. I think,
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: uh yeah, that that is the end of the overall story.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: I really like this. I think that this book can
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: and will get much darker for the fact that we
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: see we don't actually see it, which is like, oh wow,
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: but they went there. I'm pretty sure. I'm prett a
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: sure Quila was decapitated, yes, the captain, because they showed
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: everything but her head after the attack. Yeah, So like
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: seeing that, I was like, oh okay, yeah, oh uh So,
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: like I love the lightheartedness of everything. I still like
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: that there is goofiness, and that is also the nature
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: of manga, Like no matter how crazy dark or serious
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: the book can get, there's always something there to kind
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: of smooth some things out. As far as tone wise,
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: and I like the tone of this, I really do,
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: and I really do hope that whatever Kenny Ruy does
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: with this trilogy, that Lucasfilm and Marvel can keep it
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: as far as continuity and move forward with it and
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: add things to it, because I think that would be
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: really fun.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, guys, I cannot find a release date for volume two,
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: but there has been This was announced originally as a trilogy,
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: so yeah, hopefully we get to see volume two soon
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: and we'll see what happens.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, for those of you who are probably wondering, well,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: what's the next thing on our list? I do know
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: that we've talked about the Legacy of Vader volume one.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: Legacy of Vader Volume two should be out either late
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: January early.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: Out March.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: Does it come out in March? Oh my god, I
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: think it was earlier in the year.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: Hang on, I got it up. I got the release
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: dates up. Let me look, Yeah, Legacy of Vader Volume
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: two is March thirty first.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: Doody it? Well, then never mind, guys, because I don't
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: have these things memorized. Well.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: Next week, guys, we are talking about Fear of the Jedi,
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: which is high Republic Marvel Phase three, Volume three, and
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: then we're also talking Phase three's High Republic Adventures, uh
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: Phase three, Phase three High Republic Adventures, Volume five. So
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: that is what we will be talking about next week,
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: and that actually concludes the rest of the new material
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: from twenty twenty five. Yes, yes, yes, guys, we may
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: not be live next week. I'm having a more which
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: means I have to basically be sedated. I'm having that
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: on Wednesday. It's just my annual MRI. But we may
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: not be live. I have to talk to Clay about
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: it because it just got finalized. So but we will
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: have an episode for you guys next week. Yeah, Clay,
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: where can they find you?
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: Of course you could find me at Fanboy Clay on
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: any and all social media. I want to go ahead
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: and also apologize there's been a lot of chaotic things
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: happening in my household. I do promise that there's going
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: to be more Instagram content. Things just got a little
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: out of hand the last month or so, so you
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: guys should be seeing more of that on your feeds.
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: Go ahead and also follow Ranger Alliance. Jake and I
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: talked about the future of that show as well. With
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: the cancelation of Supercinti, there is going to be a
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: new show that is taking the exact same time slot
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: as far as Japanese networking, so everything should be okay,
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: but we are not entirely sure how that's all going
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: to lay out in the future, especially with the actual
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: Poweringer show being confirmed and in development and everything else.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: We don't know how Disney Plus is going to release
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: those and so we are standing by to see when
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: exactly if we need to move the show like we
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: normally do with Star Wars or Marvel or DC when
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: the corresponding shows take place, you know, so we'll take
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: all of that by ear. But yeah, Katie, what about
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: you all?
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: You can find me on most social media platforms, is
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: that okay? Like Clay said, we have been swamped, We
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: have been sick as dogs, so our social media game
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: have been slackened. But we are there, guys. We promise
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: we do check in on things. So we saw somebody
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: tried to log into the Instagram account, so uh yeah,
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: so if you send us a message, we will get
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: back to you, guys. But uh, you can find us
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: on social media. Speaking of which, on Blue Sky Instagram threads,
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: Star Wars alliance. There is no A and the wars.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: Remember that very important, don't forget it. You can put
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: that user name and put it in front of at
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: gmail dot com and shoot us an email. Just remember,
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: give us a name, some way to reference you on
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: the show. We love hearing from you guys. So with that,
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: I want to wish every day or night, whatever time
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: of day you are listening or watching, and we will
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: see you next time. Made the wors to be with you.
