- 0:00Speaker 1: Peace on Earth. I heard the bells on Christmas Day,
- 0:05Speaker 1: their old familiar carols play and wild and sweet, the
- 0:10Speaker 1: words repeat of peace on Earth, good will to men.
- 0:16Speaker 1: And thought, how as the day had come, the belfries
- 0:20Speaker 1: of all Christendom had rolled along the unbroken song of
- 0:25Speaker 1: peace on Earth, good will to men, till ringing, singing
- 0:32Speaker 1: on its way, the world revolved from night to day,
- 0:37Speaker 1: a voice, a chime, a chant sublime, of peace on Earth,
- 0:43Speaker 1: good will to men. Then from each black accursed mouth
- 0:49Speaker 1: the cannon thundered in the south, and with the sound
- 0:54Speaker 1: carols drowned of peace on Earth, good will to men.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It was as if an earthquake rent the hearthstones of
- 1:04Speaker 1: a continent and made forlorn the households born of peace
- 1:09Speaker 1: on Earth, good will to men. And in despair I
- 1:15Speaker 1: bowed my head. There is no peace on earth, I said, hide.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Hate is strong. The mocks the song of peace on Earth,
- 1:25Speaker 1: good will to men. Then peeled the bells more loud
- 1:30Speaker 1: and deep. God is not dead, nor doth he sleep.
- 1:35Speaker 1: The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, with peace on Earth,
- 1:41Speaker 1: good will to men.
