- 0:00The whole point of The GIMP was basically to be, especially in
- 0:03the sex tapes video was to be like this person was in my life
- 0:07and now they're not, but the they're almost haunting.
- 0:09Me. They're haunting you like
- 0:10they're still present even though they're not physically
- 0:12there anymore. Exactly 100° here every day for
- 0:15the past week because I'm like, you know what, girl?
- 0:17A month ago I was in a snowstorm.
- 0:19That is crazy. The kids would call it brick.
- 0:21Yes, it was very cold. It was brick as fuck outside.
- 0:24It was brick as fuck. Hello, her Lulu's and welcome
- 0:42back to Delulu and a very special welcome to our on record
- 0:47favorite guest and something I literally I do hate saying that
- 0:49just because I genuinely love every guest.
- 0:51But guys, literally it's undeniable.
- 0:53Like just that was my favorite episode.
- 0:55I love her energy. But we have original dark pop
- 0:59trailblazer miss Elise. Now synth pop siren Miss Elise
- 1:04is back. Hi Elise, this is your good time
- 1:06on the show. Oh my God, I love.
- 1:08You, I love you so much. OK, I'm just gonna tell them
- 1:10guys, we shot half this episode. It didn't, it didn't work.
- 1:14So we're restarting now. But this version is gonna be
- 1:17better 'cause now we really are in a flow state.
- 1:19We had a dress for her. Soul.
- 1:20We did. We did.
- 1:21We did. Which honestly, it's like a
- 1:24second dress rehearsal because we talked for like an hour.
- 1:27We queened out. We queened out for like an hour
- 1:28right before we shot the first version of what we're doing
- 1:31right now. And now we're doing this one.
- 1:33But you're getting the best version.
- 1:34Oh, yeah, we are ready. This is your third time on the
- 1:36show. Thank you so much for coming
- 1:38back. I literally was begging Charlie,
- 1:40like, any way we can include Elise in this project, which is
- 1:43the podcast? Like please, like anything.
- 1:46I'm so happy to be back. Thank you for having me.
- 1:48Again, I will always come back. I'll come back on a quarterly
- 1:50schedule. Good, because I want you back
- 1:52again. Literally.
- 1:52So you need to come back like in another 4 to 5.
- 1:54Months I will I'll be there I mean I'll probably have new
- 1:57music by then, so I'll be back I'm.
- 2:00Going to be asking about that. I have a lot of questions about
- 2:02all of that. Just like even coming as a fan,
- 2:04like everything. I'm just so excited to talk to
- 2:06you and get into it. Let's get into it.
- 2:08We're going to. Get into it.
- 2:09OK, so we're going to start this show by doing some ASMR
- 2:12affirmations. We did it for the spooky Lulu
- 2:14episode of Delulu back in October.
- 2:17But we just want to give the listeners in the audience some
- 2:20good vibes. We're going to speak some good
- 2:22things into existence for you. So all you need to do is sit
- 2:25back, breathe, relax, and just receive it.
- 2:28Just listen and receive it. So we're going to take turns,
- 2:32OK? These are your ASMR affirmations
- 2:36for this episode with Elise. Do you want to start?
- 2:40I'll start. OK, you are magnetic to love
- 2:43that feels safe, deep and undeniable.
- 2:46Lucky you are deeply loved for who you are, not what you prove.
- 2:53You are worthy of wealth that exceeds your expectations.
- 2:58Claiming heavy you are confident, chosen and impossible
- 3:03to ignore. You are becoming the most
- 3:07powerful version of yourself every day.
- 3:10You are a natural receiver of abundance and luxury.
- 3:16You are the standard. People rise to meet you or fall
- 3:19away. You are the standard, claiming
- 3:22you were stepping into a life that once felt out of reach.
- 3:28You are attracting money in ways that feel aligned and
- 3:31effortless. Claiming you were secure in
- 3:35yourself and that security attracts everything.
- 3:40Claiming. I love those.
- 3:42Those were cute. We're claiming those.
- 3:44I'm claiming all of that. I actually need them really bad,
- 3:46but I'm claiming that. Wait, can I tell you something?
- 3:49I don't know why because this is genuinely like literally what my
- 3:52entire content is. Like what I've been doing for
- 3:54years is like just saying affirmations.
- 3:56It feels so unnatural. And I was like, I know how to
- 3:58speak but as I'm saying I'm like, I'm going to fucking
- 4:00stutter. I'm going to like my tongue's
- 4:02getting twisted or whatever. Like I felt like the pressure
- 4:04was so on when we did the ASMR affirmation episode a couple
- 4:07months ago and we did it for like a long time.
- 4:09I think it was like 10 minutes. I was like damn, I was real.
- 4:12That shit was kicking my. Ass.
- 4:13It was kicking my ass too. I couldn't keep it together.
- 4:16I was like, we literally couldn't keep it together.
- 4:18It was so hard because the party was just like I was telling
- 4:20Brett. I was like, just keep just keep
- 4:22it in well, just keep us like talking shit, Just keep us like
- 4:24laughing and like whatever. It's a fun little girly glove.
- 4:27Affirmation it. Was fun.
- 4:28Affirmation should be fun. Affirmations are fun and they're
- 4:31easy and they're easy to receive.
- 4:32So those were your affirmations. Well, at least we're going to
- 4:35get into it. Right now, we need an Elise Life
- 4:38update. It has been a few months since
- 4:39last time you're on the show. You tell us a lot of things,
- 4:41You're preparing for a lot of things, and now we're finally
- 4:44back. Since the last time you're here.
- 4:46You went on tour. I did.
- 4:47Tell us about the tour. It was so fun I.
- 4:50It looks so fun. It was incredible, honestly.
- 4:53Like, I love tour. Tour is my favorite part of
- 4:56anything that I do. But this tour was especially fun
- 4:59because I got to go to so many cities I've never played in
- 5:02before. Yeah, I've never really hit the
- 5:04South. I had never hit Texas.
- 5:06I'd never hit Florida. I never had hit certain places
- 5:09like Arizona and a few other places in like the is that like
- 5:13the West Coast, the Midwest area?
- 5:14Somewhere along those lines. Somewhere in there.
- 5:17Listen, I'm no geographer, but I got to play so many cities that
- 5:21I've never played. And it's always kind of nerve
- 5:23wracking when you do that because you don't really know,
- 5:25you know, first headline show somewhere, you don't know if you
- 5:29have fans there, if people are going to show up.
- 5:31You kind of just hope for the best.
- 5:32But it was so great. Honestly, those were some of the
- 5:35cities that I feel like were the most fun in Nashville for the
- 5:38first time. Oh my God, yay.
- 5:40It was not for the first time, but for the first time as a
- 5:42headliner. Oh my gosh.
- 5:43So it was really, it was incredible.
- 5:45And it was crazy too, because I was touring during the like
- 5:50crazy snowstorm. During the spot.
- 5:52The insane like thing that happened in January where
- 5:56everything was just snowed over. I mean, the day we were in
- 5:58Nashville, it was on the news that trees were exploding from
- 6:01how cold it was and people still showed up and showed out.
- 6:04So it was just so cool to. See, you're like freezing your
- 6:06ass off. Oh, I was so.
- 6:08You're a California girl. California girl through and
- 6:10through. I love an LA winter.
- 6:14Like I I'm not even mad that it's been like 100° here every
- 6:18day for the past week because I'm like, you know what girl?
- 6:20A month ago I was in a snowstorm.
- 6:22That is crazy. The kids would call it brick.
- 6:24Yes, it was very cold. It was brick as fuck outside.
- 6:27It was brick as fog. I was freezing the heater in our
- 6:29bus stopped working for like a few days.
- 6:31So we were like literally would go and you're you would have the
- 6:35cloud of air in the bus. It was insane.
- 6:38Oh my God, but I love. Tour so much.
- 6:40Nothing could bring me down. Absolutely.
- 6:42I was just ready. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:43Oh my God. And you were able to debut some
- 6:45of the new music on the tour, too.
- 6:47How was the reception to that? It was incredible.
- 6:50That was my favorite part of the tour was getting to play these
- 6:52new songs before they came out, even just like rehearsing them
- 6:55before the tour started. Exciting.
- 6:57It's such an exciting thing when you make new music and then you
- 6:59get to watch it come to life live for the first time and like
- 7:02you get to figure it out and mess with it and see like how
- 7:05you're going to perform it, what's going to be different
- 7:07about it. But it was so amazing to play it
- 7:10on tour people. Once it was like show 5 people
- 7:13in the crowd. They really.
- 7:15Knew all the words. That's me, girl.
- 7:17It was insane. When you're posting like the
- 7:19Instagram stories of the fans and their videos of the tour and
- 7:22the new songs. I was so gagged.
- 7:25I wish, Oh my God, I wish I was there.
- 7:27You needed to do an LA date. I will.
- 7:28You'll, you'll make up for it. I trust you.
- 7:30I certainly will. I will not skip LA on the next.
- 7:32Tour don't skip LA girl. I'm going to be there Pinky.
- 7:35OK, cool. And I'm.
- 7:36Going to be there. That's my pinky promise too.
- 7:38But I felt like I had so much FOMO because like I was watching
- 7:41all the videos and clips from it from your fans and you're
- 7:42posting your story and I love the tour Diaries and just
- 7:45everything you're doing, you're just giving.
- 7:46You're giving everything. And the new songs you look like
- 7:50you come alive on on stage, like it looks like something takes
- 7:52over. You genuinely like watching you
- 7:54performance, like it feels out of body, like I'm witnessing you
- 7:57out of body. It does feel like that when I'm
- 8:00up there, I definitely feel like I have a bit of an alter ego, or
- 8:03not even an alter ego, but just like a different persona, a
- 8:07different way that my personality takes shape on
- 8:09stage. I just feel so at home and at
- 8:13ease. On stage.
- 8:14I love doing it like I'm a performer through and through.
- 8:17Like since I was a little kid, I've always loved to be on
- 8:20stage. I love to anybody who will watch
- 8:22me. I'm like, let me sing for you
- 8:23right now, like my family, anywhere I'll go and perform.
- 8:27I'll go perform at a local middle school right now if they
- 8:30invite me. Like I just love to be on stage
- 8:32and to perform for people. So it's the best part of being
- 8:35an artist in my opinion. And like we were talking about
- 8:38like, I think there's so many parts to this career that have
- 8:42very little to do with actually being a musician and like
- 8:45getting to experience those things.
- 8:48So when you are on a time where you're like on tour or you're
- 8:52filming a music video or you're in the studio, exactly like
- 8:57those are the moments I cherish the most.
- 8:59And being on tour is just, it's a crazy high.
- 9:02Like you get to go up, you get to go on stage, you get to sing.
- 9:05Singing is the first thing I ever fell in love with in life.
- 9:08Like it's been the the love of my life, my entire life has
- 9:12been. More so than.
- 9:13Writing, even more than writing, I do love to write as well and I
- 9:17love all the aspects of being an artist, but singing is
- 9:19definitely the first thing I ever fell in love with.
- 9:22So getting to just go up and do it.
- 9:24And there's actually people there who love me and like care
- 9:28about it. And there's this like mutual
- 9:29love and this like really safe, amazing feeling in all the
- 9:33rooms. It feels, it's like euphoric.
- 9:35Absolutely. Especially like people
- 9:37connecting to you and your artistry and being able to put
- 9:40it out there. Because I think Amy Allen, I'm
- 9:42probably quoting this wrong and I'm probably quoting the wrong
- 9:44person, but she said, like, making music is only 10% of
- 9:49being an artist and like, it's like 90% of doing literally
- 9:51everything else. So like getting the opportunity
- 9:53to even see the fans, connect with the fans, have them hear
- 9:55their music, have them like, enjoy it, sing it back to you.
- 9:58Like that's crazy. It's it's insane.
- 10:00And those songs you thought you're performing weren't even
- 10:02out yet. When you're on tour, they
- 10:04weren't even out yet. I know.
- 10:06That's the the best feeling ever, like to look into the
- 10:08crowd and see people screaming the lyrics of her a month and a
- 10:12half before it. Came out I'm.
- 10:13Like that's fun looking. All I could ever ask for in
- 10:16life. Also, just let me say this right
- 10:18now, I'm I don't want, I don't want to forget about this.
- 10:20Her is so good. Like lyrically, it's so clever.
- 10:24I'm a huge fan of clever songwriting, like just really
- 10:27clever songwriting. And that song is just like, it's
- 10:29so well written and it's so visual and you really take us.
- 10:32They were like, just I know you said like singing is your first
- 10:34love, like the love of your life, like your writing is so
- 10:37impeccable. Thank you so much.
- 10:39Like super, super well done. Thank you.
- 10:41Her is incredible. We're we're going to get into
- 10:43all the songs. Let's get into that on the EP
- 10:45and the project. But so since then you went on
- 10:47tour. You've also released 3 singles
- 10:50for this new EP as well. So you release sex tapes little
- 10:54pill and Her. So this all happened right after
- 10:58you finished tour? You come back?
- 10:59Or did sex tape come out when you're on tour?
- 11:01It did come out during tour, but Little Pill came out right after
- 11:03tour. Yeah, it was pretty quick, yeah.
- 11:05And then her came out really quickly too, yeah.
- 11:08Oh my gosh, fast roll out. Fast roll out.
- 11:10Oh my gosh, you're really doing it.
- 11:12And then you finally announce the EP Bedroom Confessional.
- 11:15Yeah, Oh my God. So it's all happening.
- 11:17It's all happening. I'm so excited.
- 11:19It's literally my favorite music I've ever made.
- 11:22My favorite music you've ever made too.
- 11:23Thank you I fucking love it. I feel like I really have
- 11:26shifted my sound and my just everything, branding, visuals.
- 11:30I completely agree. Especially sonically, like I
- 11:33told you the last time I was on the show too, like it was going
- 11:35to be a different vibe. I just, I feel like it's a new
- 11:39version of myself as an artist. I feel like when I made these
- 11:42songs, I was in a very different place than I've been at any
- 11:46other point in my career when I've been like making songs and
- 11:49releasing projects. So yeah, it's it's a big shift
- 11:52for me and I'm really happy with how everything came out.
- 11:54This has been my favorite rollout ever.
- 11:56All the visuals have been my favorite visuals.
- 11:58Like I'm having the time of my life writing these music videos
- 12:02and bringing it to life and thinking of these like shoot
- 12:04concepts. You're literally giving.
- 12:06You are giving and like honestly, like I told you this
- 12:08before the show started, I feel like this new music to me, it's
- 12:11like this is you debuting like it's like another debut for you.
- 12:14It just feels so different and it feels like it feels like a
- 12:17different like side of you that we haven't necessarily seen or
- 12:19tapped into. Like obviously you trailblazed
- 12:22dark pop and you've been doing and you master that.
- 12:24But then coming in with synth pop and bringing in these new
- 12:26stories and the emotions that you're conveying here.
- 12:29It's like it's just it's so refreshing just as a fan and
- 12:32like listening to the music and synth pop is literally my
- 12:34favorite genre. When you told me on the first
- 12:36time you're on the show, when you were like the new project's
- 12:38going to be synthpop, I was visibly excited and you gave me
- 12:42everything I wanted more. Thank you.
- 12:43So I'm so happy to hear that. I'm so glad that you like, love
- 12:46the music. I genuinely love it.
- 12:48I stream it so much. Oh my gosh, wait, can I have my
- 12:51phone? I want to can we do I?
- 12:53I'm going to let's find out right now.
- 12:55I'm going to turn on my my on repeat on Spotify.
- 12:59Oh, I forgot, that's the thing. Let's go see.
- 13:01I'm like, I'm so confident it's going to be a little pill or
- 13:04her. OK guys, I don't know.
- 13:06I did not stage this. Oh my God, show up, please,
- 13:09guys, It was just Mercury retrograde.
- 13:11So we're getting out of Mercury retrograde right now.
- 13:14Internet's really bad. OK, I'm going to let this China
- 13:17load while we're chit chatting about it.
- 13:18But the new music is so good. OK, here it is.
- 13:22Little pill, little pill. Wow little pill.
- 13:25I knew it. OK, And I favorite daughter is a
- 13:27reference right now. So that's why it's the number
- 13:28one for me. It's an amazing.
- 13:29Song. That one's so good.
- 13:30Have you heard it? Yeah, of course I.
- 13:32Love just discovered it like the other and her guys her just came
- 13:35out her just came out her just. Came out three days ago.
- 13:37She's climbing, She's climbing. She's making her way up.
- 13:40Oh my God. Literally.
- 13:41Wait, I love you. I'm.
- 13:44So no, I genuinely love this music.
- 13:48What about just sitting here and glazing you?
- 13:49And I was just like, I didn't actually listen.
- 13:51Like, would you ever? Know you would have never
- 13:54offered to pull up the on repeat if that was the case.
- 13:56That's how I know you're not fake.
- 13:57Like love, you actually prove this.
- 13:59No, I love, I love Little Pill and I love like how high you get
- 14:03in the chorus and like, thank you.
- 14:05Whenever I'm trying to sing it, I'm like, Oh my God, here we go.
- 14:07Well, it's pitched up. I I know and it's so good.
- 14:10What a good artistic choice. Thank you, 'cause yeah, we
- 14:12recorded it, I think a whole step or maybe 1/2 step down and
- 14:16then we pitched the vocal up to have that sort of like childish
- 14:19baby. Vocal, yes.
- 14:20And it's so addictive. Oh my gosh.
- 14:23In the music video, Oh my gosh, we're going to get into this
- 14:26era. But yes, let's wrap up your life
- 14:28update. So 3 of you singles since last
- 14:29time you were here, you went on tour.
- 14:31We just had Mercury retrograde. How was Mercury retrograde for
- 14:33you? This is the first time this has
- 14:35ever happened to me in my life, but Mercury retrograde was
- 14:38actually fine for me. I was unaffected.
- 14:41I was unaffected. I'm kind of having a great year,
- 14:44which like I know we did this last time, but I literally if
- 14:47I'm going to talk about it, I need to knock on wood because
- 14:50girl, I thought the last few years were going to be my year,
- 14:53but it finally 2026. Is it like this is a good and I
- 14:58think it's because I'm in my Saturn return.
- 15:00I'm 27 so I'm in my I. Think I'm in my Saturn return,
- 15:04I'm 29. Oh my God.
- 15:05Wait, you are? One, I thought you were 23, but
- 15:08two, OK, I'm in my Saturn return and I'm feeling it, but OK, so
- 15:12you're in your Saturn. Return.
- 15:13I think I'm just finally in a place where I'm really happy.
- 15:17I'm not really I I've not been super bogged down by the the
- 15:22things I usually am bogged down by.
- 15:23I go through a lot of mental struggles.
- 15:27We'll say that typically like keep me very, I don't know,
- 15:32depressed or, you know, I, I go through a lot emotionally and
- 15:34mentally, which is fine because I end up putting that in my
- 15:37music and it's like, and I you. Know do you feel like it's a
- 15:39software free art? I do too.
- 15:41And I think I really used to feel like that.
- 15:45I genuinely used to have crazy traumatizing experiences,
- 15:49experiences that people like go to therapy for for years.
- 15:53Things that are like the darkest moments of my life.
- 15:55And a part of me would sickly be like, happy because I'd be like,
- 15:59oh, like I hear the music, music in my head.
- 16:02I hear. The.
- 16:03Album. Coming.
- 16:04Yes. Yeah, that's how I am too.
- 16:06But I think now I've matured a lot.
- 16:09I've I've had a very crazy traumatic past.
- 16:12I've been in LA since I was a little teenager.
- 16:14You've been in like running around.
- 16:16Yeah, I've been in it for a long time.
- 16:18I started releasing music in 2018 and a lot of crazy things
- 16:21have happened. I I mean, a lot of it is
- 16:23self-inflicted. I've put myself in a lot of
- 16:26precarious situations. Over the years, if you're going
- 16:28to be an artist, you kind of have to like whether you're
- 16:31trying to or not. That's kind of just the nature
- 16:33of the game. It is, and I feel like when I
- 16:35was younger I was also very drawn to things of that nature.
- 16:38Like I just. Oh, like the dark side of like.
- 16:41The flame of it. Yeah, me too.
- 16:43I was just very like, I almost like put myself in these
- 16:46situations that ended me up in really bad positions.
- 16:49But it made for some really good music.
- 16:50I mean, you got it. It's just I.
- 16:52Really do get it. It's the way of the artists.
- 16:54But no, this year I've been really happy.
- 16:57I've been, I was on tour and now I've just been in this rollout.
- 17:00I've been working a lot. I've been super busy.
- 17:03I've just been spending a lot of time with friends.
- 17:05It's been really nice. It's.
- 17:07Like super healed, like super mature, especially like with
- 17:09everything like you, obviously detailed.
- 17:10And last time we checked in at the end of last year.
- 17:13And we also talked a little about sex tapes, the song going
- 17:16deeper than just being about like, you know, getting to your
- 17:18ex, but also about like how insidious the music industry
- 17:21could be and like how they were going to take advantage of you
- 17:24and how they're going to, like, prey on you and stuff.
- 17:26Like there's a lot of layers that go on here.
- 17:27And I also feel like with the entire project, there's so many
- 17:29different layers to explore there, too.
- 17:32Totally. We're going to dive into that.
- 17:33But you're having a good Mercury.
- 17:34You had a good Mercury retrograde.
- 17:35You're having a good year. Yes.
- 17:36OK, that's good. Amen.
- 17:38Thank you, we used to pray for times.
- 17:39Like this. I'm still praying for times like
- 17:41this. This Mercury retrograde fucked
- 17:43me up so bad. These affirmations are going to
- 17:45heal you. Girl, they better because
- 17:47affirmations the last time that we did them for the spooky Lulu.
- 17:49Episode. I think they healed.
- 17:50Me. They healed you.
- 17:51Yeah, OK, well these ones, they better work like they're going
- 17:55to work Claiming, claiming, claiming, claiming starting
- 17:57right now. Okay, good.
- 17:58In the next check in I'm going to be like everything is.
- 18:00Great. Exactly.
- 18:01Okay, I'm shaking lilies gone. Okay, we'll take it.
- 18:06We'll take anything right now. I don't know I'm Saturn return
- 18:09right now. So how do you think that's
- 18:11going? I think it's going really well.
- 18:13I'm I feel like things in my brain are clicking this year.
- 18:17I feel something happening. I can't really place my finger
- 18:20on exactly what it is, but it's just something where I feel like
- 18:23I'm really maturing. I feel like I'm learning.
- 18:25My whole life I feel like I've always been chasing the next
- 18:28thing, chasing the next goal, the next to.
- 18:29What I'm doing right now? Well, it's, it's natural.
- 18:33It's and I mean, don't get me wrong, I still have goals and
- 18:36want to obtain, you know, new heights and in my career, in my
- 18:40personal life or whatever, of course, But I'm definitely
- 18:42learning to enjoy the moment that's happening now and live in
- 18:47it a little bit more and not just constantly be like, what's
- 18:50the next thing? What's the next thing?
- 18:52I'm. So guilty about like always
- 18:53thinking like what's next? Like because like even right
- 18:55now, like I love that you just said like trying to be like in
- 18:57the moment and presently because that just grounded me really
- 19:00quickly. I'm like, I'm doing this right
- 19:02now. This is something I was looking
- 19:03forward to having you on the show again and like, talking to
- 19:05you again, like, it's nice. This is so good.
- 19:08Yeah. It's happening right now, and
- 19:10you know what little baby versions of us would be so proud
- 19:15at even everything we've done. So far, you know, and like
- 19:18ultimately, like sometimes think about I'm like, we're doing it
- 19:20for them. Like these are their dreams that
- 19:23they had and like the things that they wanted to do.
- 19:24That's so true because it's so easy to get overwhelmed and it's
- 19:27so easy to be like, OK, like, like you said, what's next?
- 19:30Or just be like, OK, well, we did this now and we have to do
- 19:32the next step. Especially as an artist.
- 19:33It's just like, there's so many like pillars I used to pass and
- 19:36like things I have to do. And this gets so overwhelming
- 19:38and you know. It's really easy to get lost in
- 19:41the sauce. It's really.
- 19:42Easy to. Compare and to, you know, feel
- 19:45all those emotions, which again, is natural.
- 19:47But I think it's nice to just be like, you know what, Right now
- 19:51I'm doing this and there's a version of me in the past that
- 19:54dreamed of doing this. That's entirely true.
- 19:56That's a really good perspective.
- 19:58Thank you. You're so mature, like better
- 20:00than me. Literally, even as we're doing
- 20:02the show, I was like, OK, after this obsession, I have to do
- 20:04this. And I'm like, no, you're right.
- 20:06We should just just be here. Cowboy hat.
- 20:09Cowboy sparkly rhinestone cowboy hat on.
- 20:11All of that period. OK, well we are in a new era for
- 20:15you, Elise. This is the bedroom confessional
- 20:17era, your new EP. But also like love the hair.
- 20:20I want to get into the hair. You were the actually the OG for
- 20:24the pink front. What is the front?
- 20:27What do you call the money piece?
- 20:28The money. Piece yes, that was you because
- 20:31you originated that like you did this in 2018, people were doing
- 20:34it, inspired by you, crediting you and you brought it back for
- 20:36this era. Thank you.
- 20:38Yeah, I I will accept that title.
- 20:40I feel like I did it very early on.
- 20:43I it's like a funny story of why I did it too, because it wasn't
- 20:46like this big plan to like make it a moment or anything.
- 20:50I literally just like wasn't allowed to dye my hair.
- 20:52Like my mom would have been so pissed if I dyed my entire head.
- 20:56Of and you really wanted. To and I really wanted pink
- 20:58hair. Pink is my favorite color.
- 20:59It's always been my favorite color.
- 21:00So I was like, OK, I went to the hair salon and I was like, can
- 21:04you do this? I actually, I literally there's
- 21:07no way I'm going to, I kind of have 90,000 photos in my camera
- 21:09roll, but I took a photo of myself and with like the the
- 21:12like edit tool, I drew the pink in the front of my ear and I was
- 21:16like, can you that? Was your reference.
- 21:17That was my reference. And she was like, yeah, and she
- 21:20did it. And I loved it.
- 21:22It was so cute. And I was keeping the rest of my
- 21:24hair from being damaged while still having pink.
- 21:27And I thought it was so fun. And then I think it just kind of
- 21:29like started to blow up. A lot of people started to do
- 21:33it. And by 2020, I mean, it does.
- 21:35Everybody looks good with it. I've never seen someone look bad
- 21:37with it. It's always a look on everyone.
- 21:40So it just started to excuse me to pop off and it became like
- 21:45this E girl trend to have this hair.
- 21:49I'm like, I'll happily claim the title of starting that show.
- 21:52You're the trailblazer of a lot of things.
- 21:55Well, I'm going to give you all the credit for it.
- 21:56I want to give you all your flowers.
- 21:58But bringing it back for this era, like what made it feel
- 22:00right for you for Bedroom Confessional?
- 22:02Because there's a lot of pink in the visuals, in the music
- 22:04videos, there are a lot of pink. The EP cover art has the pink
- 22:07light. Like, there's a lot of pink
- 22:08going on here. I think I just really wanted to
- 22:11feel very myself again. And I had this hair for years,
- 22:16like from 2018 to maybe like 2023, I had it.
- 22:19And so I was like, I just, I want it back.
- 22:22Like I feel so cute with it. I loved when I had it.
- 22:25I love having pink in my hair. I just love the color pink in
- 22:28general. So I was like, it's just time.
- 22:31I was about to go on tour. I was like, I want to have a fun
- 22:33color on tour and do something cute.
- 22:35And then this whole era is very, very pink, very purple, very
- 22:39like girly, I would say very feminine.
- 22:43And so I wanted to feel that vibe even within myself.
- 22:47And I love when I have pink hair because I usually wear all
- 22:50black. And so pink is like the color.
- 22:52It's the color. Yeah.
- 22:53This is the accessory. Like now I can just wear a black
- 22:56shirt and jeans and I'm like, it's fine.
- 22:57My my hair is pink. Yeah, I love, I love the
- 22:59intention behind it too, because like with the visuals and like
- 23:01what you're saying about like this entire project, like it's
- 23:04very girly. Like even when you're writing
- 23:05like the track listing in the Star Journal and like with all
- 23:09the bads on the EP cover and everything that you're doing
- 23:11with this project is just feels like you're taking us into your
- 23:14world. I've never felt so in Elise's
- 23:17world than I do with this project.
- 23:19And I know you said that you're proud of it and like, this is
- 23:20your favorite thing you've ever done so far.
- 23:22Like genuinely same. I'm obsessed.
- 23:24I'm obsessed. Just as a fan.
- 23:25I'm like, damn, you're giving everything I could ever want.
- 23:28Like, I can see why the fans are so obsessed.
- 23:31I'm obsessed too because it's just like, it's so good.
- 23:33Getting that feedback from you is very like that is, I'm
- 23:37honored by that because I really value your feedback.
- 23:40You're amazing and. I love you.
- 23:42I love you. It's just so intentional and
- 23:44like, thank you. That's the thing being
- 23:45intentional about is what excites me in the details,
- 23:48literally down to the details. Like what I'm saying, like
- 23:50literally when you're doing the track listing in the diary, like
- 23:54bedroom confessional, you have a diary, you're on a mattress,
- 23:57it's a little star journal. Like it's just, it's just so
- 24:02well done. Like I so appreciate stuff like
- 24:04that. I feel like artists just don't
- 24:05do that anymore. And I wish they would do more of
- 24:07it because like, I don't just want a string of singles.
- 24:09I want like a story. I want to feel involved.
- 24:12I want to feel like I'm in your life and world.
- 24:15And you're actually doing that even a step further because with
- 24:18the three things you put out and the music videos you're putting
- 24:20out with them, this is literally a story.
- 24:22This is a chronicle that you're doing.
- 24:24Let's get into these songs. Let's do it.
- 24:26Okay, so we kick off the arrow with sex tapes.
- 24:28You talked about sex tapes when we first had you on the show,
- 24:32and it's about this axe, but it's also a little bit about the
- 24:34music industry and everything in the visual for it is so
- 24:37stunning. And then you introduce this
- 24:39character, this person in latex. What do you call them?
- 24:42You said they were like a It was a word for it.
- 24:45There, he's a GIMP. A GIMP.
- 24:48He's in a GIMP suit. We have a GIMP and we introduce
- 24:51a GIMP and he is such a focal point in the story and we've
- 24:54seen the story progress through the music videos.
- 24:56So let's talk about it like what is this concept?
- 24:58What does that mean to you? Who is this person?
- 25:00So to me, the GIMP, he's intentionally a GIMP because I
- 25:04did not want the male figure in this story to have an identity.
- 25:09I didn't want him to have a face because that's not what it's
- 25:11about. It's not about him.
- 25:13It's actually about me and the ways that my story with this
- 25:17person affected me and my life after the fact.
- 25:20All of these songs were made after the relationship that
- 25:24they're about had already come to an end.
- 25:26So the whole point of The GIMP was basically to be, especially
- 25:29in the sex tapes video was to be like this person was in my life
- 25:33and now they're not. But the they're almost haunting.
- 25:36Me. They're haunting you like
- 25:37they're still present even though they're not physically
- 25:39there anymore. Exactly.
- 25:40Oh my God, love. And I also love American Horror
- 25:43Story. I I was such an American Horror
- 25:46Story girl and season 1 was my favorite season and I don't know
- 25:49if you remember, but Evan Peters in season 1, his character Tate
- 25:52like wears a GIMP suit. And so I was also largely
- 25:55inspired by everything about season 1, like the coloring,
- 25:59even the the house I filmed it. I I really liked how it had sort
- 26:02of like visual similarities to to murder house for American
- 26:05Horror Story and I was really inspired by that.
- 26:08But definitely the overall storyline involving the GIMP is
- 26:11meant to represent like there is this year that was.
- 26:14So that's also why I wanted him to be very tall because it's
- 26:17like he was so big and tower because that's really how it
- 26:22felt. Yeah, exactly.
- 26:24Like he's this very big figure in my life that even though he's
- 26:27not in my life anymore, like I'm still being so majorly affected
- 26:30by him and and yeah, the GIMP suit.
- 26:33Poor guy though, he can't see out of that thing.
- 26:36He can't hear barely. Like we in the little pill
- 26:39video, we were shooting over on a bridge over a freeway and
- 26:43we're like walking down the street of the freeway and he
- 26:45can't see anything and there's cars coming and I'm like, OK,
- 26:48move to the sidewalk. Like he's such a trooper though.
- 26:51He's such a sweet guy. For the art, like it looks good
- 26:55and like I feel like that's visual component of it and like
- 26:57this character that you introduce, like, again, creating
- 27:00a genuine story. And this is where you start this
- 27:03chronicle. So you said, is this going to be
- 27:05a trilogy between sex pills sex? Sex pills gas station.
- 27:12OK, sex tapes, bitch. Little pill and her.
- 27:16We go from sex tapes to little pill and we see the GIMP being
- 27:19stolen by another girl and this feeds into what happens with
- 27:23her. And I am obsessed with her.
- 27:27I love her. You posted it on your Instagram
- 27:29story. I've told you this a million
- 27:30times. You just posted it on your
- 27:31Instagram story of you just playing it on the piano like
- 27:34weeks ago, months ago at this point actually.
- 27:36And I was so obsessed with it. I screen recorded it off of your
- 27:40story and I would play it in the shower and it was really just a
- 27:42minute. I think it was like the verse
- 27:44going into the chorus. And I was just obsessed with it.
- 27:47And then you started performing it on tour and then when you're
- 27:49when your fans were posting the clips of it and you're posting a
- 27:51story, I was like, that's fucking her.
- 27:54And I love a good classic obsession song.
- 27:56Thank you. I will record a full piano
- 27:59version for you. Thank.
- 28:00You. You can now too, because you
- 28:01took your nails. Off I can't.
- 28:03My nails are gone and I can play the piano again.
- 28:06You should. Oh my God.
- 28:07Oh my God, I love it. It was just haunting and
- 28:08beautiful. But to be honest, I didn't even
- 28:11know what to expect with the production of it either because
- 28:13I didn't even know it was like going to be a thing.
- 28:15I thought you were just like singing.
- 28:16Like, I really didn't know. You didn't give any context.
- 28:18Just put it on your story. The production of it is so
- 28:22fucking good and I'm obsessed with the outro, like how chanty
- 28:26it feels and how dreamy it is. And like just like with The Sims
- 28:29and like this entire project, like I'm telling you, like I
- 28:32just showed you my on repeat, but like, you know your
- 28:35publicist Charlie, he posted his Spotify end of the year rap last
- 28:38year and you're his one of his top artists, right?
- 28:40That's literally going to be you for me this year.
- 28:42Incredible because of this project.
- 28:43Incredible. So fucking into it.
- 28:45Like I said, you're like debuting as a new artist, but it
- 28:47also feels like it's still like a darker synth pop, but it's
- 28:50like such a different side of you.
- 28:52Thank you so much. That really is what I wanted to
- 28:55do with this music was kind of like reintroduce myself and be a
- 28:59different version of myself. But at the end of the day,
- 29:02another big goal with me for this project for me was to have
- 29:07sort of my most almost like embarrassing, shameful thoughts
- 29:13and emotions and feelings on display.
- 29:15So my goal was to make things that sound very beautiful and
- 29:19sound almost happy and like lighthearted, but really like
- 29:22very lush. Exactly.
- 29:23But the concepts are really when you get into it, it's like I'm
- 29:27watching our sex tapes back. That's embarrassing.
- 29:30I'm so obsessed with you. You're like a little pill like
- 29:33and and the feeling is not mutual.
- 29:36And then her is like I'm someone else.
- 29:39I've been this. Yeah, like, I don't even care
- 29:42about the person you're with. I'm literally, I don't even care
- 29:45about you anymore. I care about the person you're
- 29:47with so much. And I think that's an emotion a
- 29:50lot of people have felt, maybe they don't want to admit they
- 29:52felt. I mean, I hope this is
- 29:53relatable, but it's. Extremely relatable.
- 29:57Oh my gosh. Yeah, because we all go through
- 29:59that. You know, your ex starts dating
- 30:01someone new or your ex has an ex or you, you compare yourself to
- 30:04someone who you're like, you know, doesn't even have to be
- 30:07about relationships. It could be like wow that person
- 30:09is doing so many things I wish I was doing or like why does their
- 30:12life seem so much so? Fixated on them.
- 30:14Yeah, that's the truth. Like, even in the chorus when
- 30:17you're saying, fantasizing about what it's like to be hurt.
- 30:19Like, to me, that hits because that's exactly how I feel all
- 30:22the time. I told you this last time.
- 30:24Oh my gosh, I didn't know about the song then when we were
- 30:27talking, I literally told you I was like, I get super, super
- 30:30obsessed and competitive with girls, like women in general.
- 30:33So like her, that one hits me really hard because you asked me
- 30:36earlier like which one's your favorite?
- 30:37And I was like, it's little pill, but I was like, fuck for
- 30:39her. Really like the motion in her,
- 30:41like the sentiment behind her is like something I have dealt with
- 30:44my entire life. This like competitiveness and
- 30:46like this feeling and this drive and like, and girl, I haven't
- 30:50felt that way about you because you were so stunning when you
- 30:52came on the show. Oh my God, you were so stunning.
- 30:56And like I, it was so crazy. Like we need to get into it.
- 31:00I just wrote I. So I write my journal every day.
- 31:03And then ironically, last night's journal entry was
- 31:06October 1st. That was the last time you shot
- 31:08at the Lulu. And then it was about you coming
- 31:11on the show. And I was writing about how I
- 31:12felt about that. And I was like, damn it, how can
- 31:15I compete with these gorgeous singing ass bitches 'cause I'm
- 31:17like, like, that's how I felt. But I get it, I'm the same way.
- 31:21Like I I meet someone and it's genuinely less of a less of a
- 31:26malicious jealousy and more of an admiration.
- 31:29It's to the point of like I. Wish I was.
- 31:31Her exactly like it's. That's why the video ends the
- 31:34way it does, because in the end, I'm not trying to villainize.
- 31:38The girl, yeah. Watch the her video.
- 31:41Go watch the her video. It gets it gets, but that's that
- 31:46is the point of that ending because really like when I'm
- 31:49having this feeling about another girl, I'm not like, Oh,
- 31:52I hate this bitch. Like I'm literally like I might
- 31:56be in love with you, Like I I'm obsessed with you.
- 31:58I have an adoration for you. And I think it's like, it's a
- 32:03natural feeling like it really is, especially because we're in
- 32:05an industry that is so inherently competitive.
- 32:08We're all taught to compete with each other.
- 32:10We're all taught that everything is based on numbers and
- 32:13analytics and who's doing the best and you know, clout chasing
- 32:17and all of these things that are so like surface level, but
- 32:20they're very much ingrained in US.
- 32:22And I think I think it's a normal feeling to experience.
- 32:26And so that's why I made the song and I'm happy you relate to
- 32:28it because I think a lot of I know me girl, me too, but I
- 32:33think a lot of people can relate to it and it just it's a it's a
- 32:37shitty emotion, but it's a real emotion.
- 32:40And so that was like the overall point of the whole EP was to
- 32:43kind of like really put these really grotesque, not cute to
- 32:48talk about emotions on display, but then sonically make it very
- 32:53just like airy and open and beautiful to kind of put people
- 32:58at ease about those emotions. You know, that's my.
- 33:00Favorite kind of music like I like I like sad lyric on a fun
- 33:04production and me too. I love cry cry dance pop.
- 33:08I love like being able to like, you know, feel every time.
- 33:11One of your Girls by Troye Sivan perfect example.
- 33:13Perfect. Very sad.
- 33:14Lyrically sad, like he's he's making a.
- 33:18Very devastating song it is so. Sad but then you listen to it
- 33:20and you just feel like you could be like convertible driving past
- 33:24the ocean yes you know it's not it's not necessarily a sad song
- 33:27it's not a ballad, but lyrically, like the concept is
- 33:30is sad it's him literally being like I I'll you know you know
- 33:34what it's about it's explain the song to you it's.
- 33:37So perfect to me too. Like it's just like, and it's so
- 33:39lush and like pretty like when I'm making my music, what I want
- 33:42is I want the same thing. I want sad lyric on top of like
- 33:44a really bright production because I like the juxtaposition
- 33:47of it. I like like the the feeling
- 33:49that's like you really have to sit there and listen because
- 33:50like I just immediately sonically loved her.
- 33:54But then when I was really sitting down with the lyric, I
- 33:55was like, I was telling you, it's so clever.
- 33:58It is so well written. The narrative you tell, even
- 34:01going on to like the second verse being like, I don't even
- 34:04care about you anymore. And like, and honestly, she's
- 34:06too good for you. Like God knows how you even got
- 34:08her. But here we are.
- 34:10And like I'm obsessing over her and the music video for it.
- 34:13I love the mirroring, mirroring aspect and like the overlay and
- 34:17just everything like it's so intention was so smart and like,
- 34:20you know, the queer baiting allegations are about together.
- 34:22Let me start them here. Queer Bader shut.
- 34:28Up. I'm an ally.
- 34:29Look, come on. You my theory, so I was sitting
- 34:32here with my own fan theories, okay, and honestly, I'm gonna
- 34:36give credit to your fans and your followers as well because I
- 34:39was reading your comments and I was like, these are so they had
- 34:41the. Good theory, really.
- 34:43Good theories. When when I dropped the sex
- 34:45tapes video, I want to hear your theory.
- 34:47But like I was like, oh, there's Easter eggs, like go find them.
- 34:50And the only Easter eggs in the video were all the titles of the
- 34:52other songs. People were like, oh, the clock
- 34:54is an Easter egg. Like, oh, she had like it was
- 34:57crazy the things they were finding.
- 34:58I was like, wait, you guys are I'm not even that smart.
- 35:00I didn't think about those things.
- 35:03But now I'm like, yeah, you're right.
- 35:05That was. My mind.
- 35:07Yes, of course that was. Me.
- 35:09But what's your theory? I had the theory that I thought
- 35:13after watching Sex Tapes and Little Pill and then with her
- 35:17coming out, the song, her coming out, I thought that the GIMP
- 35:20super person was a really tall woman and I thought it was your
- 35:23life. I thought it was like a lesbian
- 35:25moment. I thought it was a WLW moment.
- 35:27I mean, we got that moment. We did.
- 35:29I thought that's what that was. And I thought that was going to
- 35:31be the reveal, like it was going to be this.
- 35:33That would have been really cool.
- 35:34I mean, I like, that's kind of better they.
- 35:37Don't even exist, you know. Yeah, but that that is kind of
- 35:39what it is like they they aren't even meant to be like he.
- 35:42It's interesting because he's such a main component of the
- 35:45videos, but he's really meant to be like Identityless A. 100% and
- 35:50that's what it is and that's what it feels like.
- 35:51And it's also just like this person isn't necessary like the
- 35:54main character here either. This is supporting, this is the
- 35:57aftermath. So we talked a little bit about
- 35:59this. You wrote these songs while
- 36:01you're making pretty evil, but they didn't make pretty evil.
- 36:04So these are from this experience, from this previous
- 36:06relationship. Because I know you've been in
- 36:07your single era for the past two years.
- 36:08We talked a little bit about it last time you were here.
- 36:11That might be changing, but these songs are coming from this
- 36:13previous experience. Yes, definitely.
- 36:16I I wrote sex tapes and little pill and her at the same time as
- 36:20I was writing pretty evil as sex tapes was the first one I made
- 36:23for this project. And as soon as I made it, I knew
- 36:25it wasn't going to be part of pretty evil.
- 36:27Like that was never the plan. I had the concept idea.
- 36:30I knew kind of how I wanted it to sound and we went in and made
- 36:33it and I was like, OK, this is the start of something new.
- 36:36This is going to be a completely different era for me.
- 36:38It's a completely different sound.
- 36:40And even like I love pretty evil.
- 36:42That's my baby. But like while I was releasing
- 36:45pretty evil and putting it out in my head, I was just like,
- 36:48God, I just can't fucking wait for sex tapes to come out.
- 36:50Like, I'm so excited. For this ET to.
- 36:51Come out yeah I've made sex tapes at the end of 2024, Little
- 36:56Pill and her in the beginning of 2025 so I've had these songs
- 36:59for. A year and you've been living
- 37:01with them for a long time. Yeah.
- 37:02So that's also why I think everything has come together.
- 37:05So a little fuzz so nicely because I've had so much time to
- 37:11think and to mood board and storyboard and write.
- 37:15It's been a lot. And I've really spent months
- 37:17like doing that type of stuff. And I think it really shows
- 37:20through in the visuals and the way that everything's coming
- 37:22together. But yeah, I, I wrote these songs
- 37:26still based on that same experience that Pretty Evil is
- 37:29about. Like they're all about the same.
- 37:31XI was with that man for 3 1/2 years and it ended so
- 37:35catastrophically. And it was just a very, I think
- 37:39a very, it was a core chunk of my 20s.
- 37:42And and it wasn't just him either.
- 37:44It was just the fact that from age like 19 until me and him
- 37:48broke up, I was just jumping, jumping, jumping from
- 37:50relationship to relationship. I literally did not know how to
- 37:53be alone. I didn't.
- 37:55Sing when it comes to like, love like.
- 37:56You exactly. All in you like make it a by
- 37:58trying pretty good identity. It becomes something like, Oh my
- 38:00God, we talked about this before.
- 38:01We love a charity case like I'm a fixer, we're Virgos.
- 38:04We're Virgos, yes. And then we're I'm going to
- 38:06invest everything to try to fix. Oh, me too.
- 38:08I will completely I really ignore and neglect myself to fix
- 38:10you and to make you the best version of yourself because
- 38:13inherently I'm like a nurturer, like I want to make you better.
- 38:17I want to. I see all the little details of
- 38:20someone and I'm like, this is where we can level up.
- 38:22Like let me get you right I want.
- 38:23To get you there. Yeah, I'm exactly like that.
- 38:26I literally was telling my friend yesterday I was like, OK,
- 38:27I'm going to make all these changes to my life to improve
- 38:29all of this so I can support this other person better.
- 38:32And I was like. It's a it's bad.
- 38:36It's I mean, it's obviously good to care about whoever you're
- 38:38with and to, and you know, to have that.
- 38:40But I think when you're the way we are, you end up attracting
- 38:44people who don't reciprocate that and who are down to kind of
- 38:48just take and take and take and not really give.
- 38:50Back yes, I fucking love a loser.
- 38:52Me too. I love a loser, I love a bum.
- 38:55I'm like, come move in, come move in, drive my car, take all
- 38:59my money. Let me help you in every way I
- 39:02know how. Let's let's let me apply for
- 39:04jobs for you. Like it's ridiculous the things
- 39:07I've done. It's actually.
- 39:08So embarrassing. Yeah, it's, it's sickening.
- 39:11Oh my God, I have done all of that.
- 39:12I think the universe really wanted me to be single.
- 39:15Like I've definitely had a couple little flings here and
- 39:18there with, you know, some whoever, but none of them worked
- 39:21out. And at the time I was like, sad,
- 39:24but I'm actually like, wow, the universe.
- 39:26It really was like, girl, you need to be alone and you need to
- 39:29heal. Like I've been in such traumatic
- 39:32relationships. I've been in an abusive
- 39:34relationship. I've been in like a serial
- 39:36cheater relationship. Like I have just been through
- 39:39the fucking ringer with the people I've brought into my
- 39:41life. And so I think these two years
- 39:43have been really beautiful in that way because I really have
- 39:46healed. I had a lot of toxic traits, my
- 39:48son. I mean, I still probably have
- 39:50some, but you know, you don't go through relationships like that
- 39:53unscathed. It makes you build walls.
- 39:55It makes. You music, yeah, and also you're
- 39:58returning and you forgiving and then like the the patterns and
- 40:01the cycle of it all like we've talked about and like that's a
- 40:04lot and that's a lot to unlearn, especially if you're.
- 40:07In the situation exactly, you need to be removed from it.
- 40:09You need your time away from it. Totally.
- 40:11And I feel like I've really learned to like love myself and
- 40:13just give myself attention and be a little more selfish with my
- 40:17time and and more picky too. Like there have been guys who
- 40:21like potentially I could have made them my boyfriend and you
- 40:24know, started dating them, but I'm like, no, I need to be
- 40:27picky. Like be picky.
- 40:29I don't want to end up in another thing where it ends up
- 40:31draining the life out of me and and I can't be the best version
- 40:34of myself. I've worked so hard to get to
- 40:36where I am now. A million.
- 40:38Percent. So I don't want another.
- 40:40And you've been through it and you already know.
- 40:42Yeah. So what would have to be
- 40:43different for you to be like, OK, we're gonna we're gonna do
- 40:45this? I think it's, it's a lot of
- 40:48things. I have a very long like I have a
- 40:51really strong idea of what I would want in an actual long
- 40:54term partner. Yep.
- 40:56And if someone is not checking, I mean, no one's perfect.
- 40:59Obviously you have to be OK with whatever problems you're.
- 41:02Gonna be or compromise etcetera. But I think there's many things
- 41:06that I've learned and from my past relationships where I'm
- 41:08like, if I see even a second of that in someone new, I'm like,
- 41:11we got to go, yeah, same. Like I got to run it's.
- 41:14Just how it has to be, because then at the same time I'm just
- 41:16like, why? Why fold?
- 41:18And I've been there, we've been there, you know what I mean?
- 41:20So like we've. Done it.
- 41:21We've done it. I'm not saying I want to do it
- 41:23again. I won't say I'm not doing it
- 41:25again, but I'm just saying I'm aware that it should not be
- 41:28happening. Yeah.
- 41:30At least you're aware. That's a gross sometimes.
- 41:32You go to have a little fun and just like, fuck around, but at
- 41:35least you're aware. Oh.
- 41:36My God, sometimes I feel like we talked about this earlier.
- 41:38Sometimes I feel like I have to suffer for the art because I'm
- 41:41like, I want something to write about.
- 41:42I want something of substance and I think that's toxic of me.
- 41:45I don't create the scenarios, but I definitely also I'm just
- 41:48like, OK, if I can get there so I can have something meaningful
- 41:50to write about because that's something that's important for
- 41:52me is like having something to say, but like, how do you get
- 41:55there? Like, I used to joke around
- 41:57like, a couple weeks ago, like, I wish I was, like, heartbroken
- 42:00right now so I could be writing about it.
- 42:01And it's like, no, you don't wish for that.
- 42:03Yeah, you don't want. That and I get that.
- 42:05Like I feel the same way. Like, we put ourselves in these
- 42:08crazy situations and it's like there's a little part of your
- 42:10brain that's like, wait, there it is, the song.
- 42:13But that's going to eat. Then we hear it because now we
- 42:16come to bedroom confessional and now we're here.
- 42:19So this is a 5 track EP. I'm so curious like what made
- 42:23you decide like you wanted to do this EP versus like another full
- 42:25length around this concept, this project, this world?
- 42:29Well, there was a couple of reasons.
- 42:31The main reason is I don't really go into a project
- 42:36thinking like, I want this to be a full album or I want this to
- 42:39be an EP. I really just write and write
- 42:41and make songs until I'm like, that's all that needs to be said
- 42:44for this. That's exactly what I needed to
- 42:46say. And I kind of, yeah, it's a
- 42:47feeling. So with Bedroom Confessional I
- 42:51the last song I made for it was the title track Bedroom
- 42:53Confessional. Did you have the title prior to
- 42:54making that song? No, OK, got it.
- 42:56That title came to me. And like the title isn't even
- 43:00said in that song. So that title came to me and I
- 43:03was like, this just feels like such a title to me because these
- 43:06really feel like a bedroom. Confessional to me.
- 43:08Like something I would sit in bed and write in my diary and
- 43:11hideaway and not want any. Of these types like thoughts
- 43:14that you were saying that the things that people are ashamed
- 43:16to like really publicly talk about, you're laying it all out
- 43:18there. Exactly as if somebody stole my
- 43:21diary and like posted it. That's kind of what I wanted
- 43:24this to feel like. So yeah, I knew it was going to
- 43:26be an EP because honestly, there just wasn't a need for it to be
- 43:30a full length. I was like, I know exactly what
- 43:33subjects I want to talk about. I knew I wanted to make a song
- 43:36about the whole sex tape situation.
- 43:38I knew I wanted to make a song about falling in love, which is
- 43:40little pill about it being like an unrequited love.
- 43:43I knew I wanted to make her because I mean, I made Valentine
- 43:47on Pretty Evil, which is also about a similar situation.
- 43:50But I feel like I didn't say everything that needed to be
- 43:52said. There was more to be said and
- 43:54then lip lock. I knew I wanted like I need to
- 43:56show you lip lock because you'll really.
- 43:58Like. It's like the most fun, like
- 44:00diva, I'll I'll send you the other see that you don't have
- 44:03but lip lock. I was like, I need to.
- 44:05I really my it was I was being called to make something that
- 44:08was just like fun and unserious. Like like, you know, when you
- 44:11get a new crush for the first time, you're like, Oh my God,
- 44:14like what should I text them? Like what should I say?
- 44:17And then the title track to me is really the overarching theme
- 44:22of the entire project, which really is just saying I will do
- 44:26anything. I have done everything for you
- 44:29to just like love me, just accept me.
- 44:31Just not even in a romantic way, in like a public facing way.
- 44:35Like be so devastating. I will bury it all like I'll
- 44:37open the towel just like see every part of me.
- 44:40You want to see the good, the bad, the ugly.
- 44:42Please just like accept me, love me, like understand me.
- 44:46And I feel like that's an emotion I've experienced my
- 44:48whole life since I was like really young, honestly was like,
- 44:51I've always felt like nobody really gets me, like nobody can
- 44:56I try to explain myself to people.
- 44:57And it seems to always like come across in a way that I don't
- 45:00mean it to. And so I've always struggled
- 45:02with that. And that has kind of been like
- 45:04the overarching theme for the whole EP.
- 45:06I love that and I think the intention behind it, like, and
- 45:09these stories and everything that you're doing, like I hope
- 45:11you know is so seen in the detail orientation of it.
- 45:14I'm so excited to hear. I'm so excited to hear these new
- 45:17songs too. Just like I already know I'm
- 45:19going to gag. They were just so good.
- 45:20I also like cohesion. You're really good at being
- 45:22cohesive with your projects, of course, but like with this one,
- 45:25I'm like, holy fuck. The elements and everything that
- 45:28you're implementing and everything like ties together.
- 45:30So we have sex tapes little pill and her.
- 45:34So is there another one that's going to continue the saga
- 45:37between all that there is? It is going to be a saga.
- 45:42I'm going to have one more video coming out, so that'll kind of
- 45:45be the closing chapter of this whole anthology that I've been.
- 45:49Building. Do you know what comes after
- 45:51that? I know as a fan I want more.
- 45:55Of course, I mean, I already am working on the next music, so I
- 46:00like to, I like to have things geared up.
- 46:02Gagery. Oh my God.
- 46:04Wait, you keep us fed. Thank you so much.
- 46:06Of course. Well, I love, like, all the
- 46:08visuals of it and everything that you're doing.
- 46:09But with the EP cover, I love the pink of it and like all the
- 46:12mattresses and the. I didn't know this.
- 46:15I saw the video that you reposted, but the typography,
- 46:18the text of it. Bedroom confessional.
- 46:20That's hand embroidered. Yeah.
- 46:22How sick is that? So sick.
- 46:23Oh my God, the girl who did the embroidery is so talented.
- 46:26She's also working on the merch designs for the new era.
- 46:29But we will be we will be purchasing, you will be
- 46:32receiving as a gift and I. Will be paying for it too.
- 46:35No, you will not support. Independent artists.
- 46:37But so true, we do support independent artists, but I knew
- 46:40I wanted the text on I. I wanted the title on the album
- 46:46cover, but I. Didn't want it to just.
- 46:48Be No it didn't. I wanted to go very text list
- 46:50for pretty evil in this era. I want to text.
- 46:53The cover is based on a fairy tale.
- 46:54The whole thing feels a little bit more like a little more
- 46:59kitschy and whimsical. Yeah.
- 47:00So I wanted that. But I was like, I've been really
- 47:03into, like, people printing out images and then adding physical
- 47:07elements and then scanning them, like with lace.
- 47:09Yeah, the, the scrapbooking of it all.
- 47:11Like if we're going with the diary theme and the scrapbook
- 47:13theme, I was like, that's exactly what I want.
- 47:15So I found this amazing artist and I asked her if she could do
- 47:18it. And I mean, she fucking
- 47:19delivered. She delivered it and.
- 47:21Her reel about it was so cute. I'm like, I'm so glad you made
- 47:24that. I was so fucking impressed.
- 47:25I was like, there's no way because I love that it was
- 47:27embroidered. I noticed that immediately when
- 47:28you posted the cover. And then like seeing her doing
- 47:32it, actually doing it, I was like, what the fuck?
- 47:34I thought this was like a graphic.
- 47:37No, I really didn't want it to be a graphic.
- 47:39And that really makes it like more like this diary esque
- 47:42thing, this real thing. We're even closer to your
- 47:44bedroom, your diary, your confessional.
- 47:47Oh my God, I love it. That is so good And I adore this
- 47:51EB cover. I love the pink of it, I love
- 47:53how you look on it and I love like exactly what the concept
- 47:56is. But you got a lot of heat and
- 47:58Flack from Mellie Martinez fans for the cover art of Bedroom
- 48:02Confessional. So you're on a stack of
- 48:03mattresses and Mellie Martinez for her new album.
- 48:06Hades has a press photo of her also on mattresses.
- 48:10And when you tweeted the photo of your EP cover, they really
- 48:13came for you. What happened?
- 48:14They did come for me, I mean. You love Melanie.
- 48:17Yeah, let me preface this by saying I love like, it's not
- 48:20like, oh, I like her, no. You've been, you've been a very
- 48:23public fan of her forever. Forever like I have loved her
- 48:26since before I was even making music myself.
- 48:28Like when I found. I mean, I watched her on The
- 48:30Voice, like when I found Cry Baby.
- 48:33I'm sorry. Yeah, when I found Crybaby, the
- 48:35album, the album that was literally one of the first
- 48:37albums like that and like Pure Heroin by Lorde and like, yeah,
- 48:42I'm blanking. But defining albums for you?
- 48:44Literally defining albums for like my early teenage years.
- 48:47Like that album shaped me and I've always accredited her to
- 48:50being such a genius artist like she is.
- 48:53She's literally a true trailblazer.
- 48:55Like literally her artistic mind is fucking genius.
- 48:58I'm such a. Conceptual Artist.
- 49:00Such a conceptual artist, so like endless creativity.
- 49:03So I'm a huge fan of her and I always have been.
- 49:05I've never kept that a secret. But yeah, I did catch a lot of
- 49:09heat. It's really unfortunate.
- 49:10I think it's the timing of it all.
- 49:12I mean, I planned my shoot for the EP before she had posted
- 49:17that photo on Instagram and I I wasn't aware of the photo until
- 49:20after. As soon as I saw it, I knew I
- 49:22mean, I was going to, but it is based on a fairy tale.
- 49:25I mean, you can search. I mean, you can search Princess
- 49:28and the P photo shoot on Pinterest right now and there
- 49:30will be hundreds of of different references of people doing it.
- 49:34And I love fairy tales. I've been inspired by fairy
- 49:37tales for a lot of my career. I have a whole EP called Letting
- 49:39the Wolf In where the whole video is based on like
- 49:42Cinderella and Snow White and I. I have a song called Wicked
- 49:45Witch of the West Side. Like I am a fairy tale girl.
- 49:47I have the first episode. You're into fairy.
- 49:49Tales I have the Grimm's The Brothers Grimm fairy tale
- 49:53hardcover book in my house. I have the Christian Hans
- 49:55Anderson fairy tale book in my house.
- 49:57Like I just love a fairy tale. So the Princess and the P The
- 50:01reason I was is inspired by that fairy tale for this is because
- 50:04the EP is called Bedroom Confessional and what better way
- 50:07to represent that than by me being on a million beds.
- 50:10And I even wanted to like have the through line of putting the
- 50:14red wig of her and. The GIMP suit.
- 50:16In the mattress, because it's like these are the things that
- 50:20have been part of the storyline of my project.
- 50:23But I knew I was once I saw her photo and the timing of it all
- 50:27and how soon mine came out after hers and just the.
- 50:31What was it? Everything you had planned Like
- 50:33you can't. Shift, but I don't think fans
- 50:35realize that that like you plan things far in advance like.
- 50:39It's not like spontaneous. It's not like I saw the photo
- 50:41and like ran to go like do my cover art.
- 50:44And then also I knew I was going to catch hate for it.
- 50:46But also I think people failed to realize like I'm an indie
- 50:49artist. I pay for these shoots out of my
- 50:51very own bank account, out of my wallet when the shoots already
- 50:55done. And it's a gag and I'm obsessed
- 50:57with how it came out. I can't just like scrap a whole
- 51:00shoe that cost thousands of dollars and then go and spend
- 51:04more thousands of dollars to recreate a shit.
- 51:06You have to do it quickly in the 11th hour.
- 51:08It was slated for release already.
- 51:09Everything was turned for dish. So I think there's a lot of
- 51:12things fans don't consider in that type of situation.
- 51:17But I mean, honestly, as long as the queen herself, Melanie is
- 51:20not offended, I I don't really care what anyone else thinks.
- 51:23I think they're two very different takes on a classic
- 51:26fairy tale, and I think hers is such a gag.
- 51:29I think I was so beautiful, beautifully done as all her
- 51:31visuals are, but I think mine was done very differently it.
- 51:34Is very different. I feel like you're literally
- 51:36outside too. Like there's I feel like the
- 51:38vibe and aesthetic of it, like the similarity is just basically
- 51:42just like the reference of the Princess of the Pea.
- 51:44Yeah. That's the only thing I would
- 51:45leave it as. And honestly, hers isn't even
- 51:46like her album cover. It's a part of like this era for
- 51:49Hades. But you know, if it was the
- 51:51album. Cover if it was her album cover,
- 51:53I would have ran and done another photo shoot.
- 51:55That would have been too crazy. But you know, it's like the
- 51:58timing of it all. And I think just the fact that
- 52:00it's me specifically because I've I've caught in some hate in
- 52:04the past for like people saying I copy her or whatever.
- 52:07And like, again, I'm very inspired by her.
- 52:09That's no. Secret.
- 52:10Even 911, which is my biggest song.
- 52:13I wrote that originally like hoping maybe there was a chance.
- 52:17It's like she would see it and want to release it herself.
- 52:20Like I love her. I've never been shy about saying
- 52:24that. So I wish the crybabies would
- 52:27layoff me a little bit because I'm literally like.
- 52:30Honestly at this point too, because like Delulu alum Lolo's
- 52:33album covers also inspired by The Princess and the Pea and she
- 52:36talks about it on the show, but I think it's exactly that.
- 52:38I think it's the timing of your you putting out your project and
- 52:41she just released those images as well.
- 52:43It's super random and unfortunate, but obviously you
- 52:47love her. You're not trying to, you're not
- 52:48trying to RIP her off. No, never trying to RIP her off.
- 52:50Never trying to RIP anyone off. Honestly, so like where you were
- 52:54of your career originally, your biggest song you mentioned with
- 52:56being 911 to where you are now with the new music and
- 52:59everything, do you ever feel like the pressure of living up
- 53:01to that song before everything you're doing now?
- 53:04Like, how does that feel, especially just being like in
- 53:06the industry for so long? I definitely feel the pressure.
- 53:10I think having a big song like that is definitely a blessing,
- 53:14but it can also sometimes be a bit of a curse because, you
- 53:18know, I can have the amount of success I'm having now, which
- 53:22I'm very happy about and like, very grateful for.
- 53:25But I think there will always be that expectation put upon me by
- 53:28other people that's like, Oh well, she's had this massive
- 53:32moment, like she's had this number.
- 53:34So if something doesn't reach that level, it can almost seem
- 53:38like a failure. Whereas maybe with someone else
- 53:41who's like a newer artist who's like starting out when?
- 53:43These are amazing exactly so good like everyone pay attention
- 53:47like. You can only be a new artist
- 53:48once. So, you know, no one's going to
- 53:50write about me and be like new upcoming artist, Elise.
- 53:52Like that's just not the position I'm in.
- 53:54And so I think the expectations for me are just set differently
- 53:58and higher because I've had this really massive song, which
- 54:02again, so grateful to have had it.
- 54:04Like, I know many people don't even ever get to have a song
- 54:08that big. And that song changed my life.
- 54:09Like, I will never hate on 911. That song literally really
- 54:13changed my life. But I think it does create this
- 54:16level of expectation. And it's hard sometimes.
- 54:19I definitely sometimes compare myself to my previous self at
- 54:26that time and like things that were going on.
- 54:27And I always say this to like my mom or or friends.
- 54:31I'm like, if I was as mature and, you know, well versed in
- 54:35the industry as I am now at that time, I think I would have known
- 54:39how to handle that moment a lot better.
- 54:42But it's crazy because maybe that was like a technically a
- 54:46peak the time of my career, but that was the lowest low I was
- 54:51ever experiencing in my own self and my personal life.
- 54:54And so the two together, it was like I was on this career high,
- 54:58but simultaneously I was losing friends left and right.
- 55:01I was in a horrifically abusive relationship.
- 55:03I was struggling with mental things that were really like
- 55:08impeding my growth on a level where like I, I felt like I
- 55:12couldn't even get out of bed a lot of days.
- 55:14And it's, it's interesting too, because I feel like when you
- 55:16have a moment like that and you start to going back to the
- 55:20jealousy thing. When you start to have a moment
- 55:22like that and you start to have success, you really quickly see
- 55:27what people are really in your life because they love you and
- 55:31they're here for you. And you really quickly see what
- 55:33people start to feel that jealousy or start to cling
- 55:37closer to you because they want they want to suck the lifeout of
- 55:40you for. That moment very LA.
- 55:42Very LA Yeah. And it taught me a lot having
- 55:45that song, because it really taught me about the social
- 55:48dynamics of of LA and of the industry we're in.
- 55:51I never had experienced anything like that before.
- 55:54And I saw a very fat and I like to think I'm a very good hearted
- 55:58person and I like to see the best in people.
- 56:00Like somebody. I'm a I'm a bit more jaded now.
- 56:03But yeah, at the time I was so baby and I was just, I thought
- 56:07everyone was good. I thought everyone was.
- 56:09Everyone has your back and everyone loves you and wants to
- 56:11support you and they don't want anything but just good things
- 56:13for you. But really it's like.
- 56:14It's ulterior motive. It's there's a lot of ulterior
- 56:17motive. Jealousy too.
- 56:18Yeah. So it was a very interesting
- 56:20experience, which I'm grateful for because I learned a lot from
- 56:23it. I I learned so much from it and
- 56:27it definitely shaped me into who I am today.
- 56:29It built a thick skin. But yeah, it's, it's a weird,
- 56:31bittersweet thing having a song like that, because I feel like
- 56:34it can kind of almost be this big cloud over everything else
- 56:38where when people see me or, you know, somebody's trying to book
- 56:41me for something or whatever it is.
- 56:43Like it's almost like, oh, well, she has this and this is way
- 56:47bigger than anything she's doing now.
- 56:48So right now, now she's actually not doing as well.
- 56:52And it's like not every song can be your biggest song.
- 56:56Yeah, but like, I will confidently say, like the music
- 56:58right now with this EP and the singles that you put out, this
- 57:01is, I would say confidently, this is your best work.
- 57:03I fucking love it. And I also love that you said it
- 57:06earlier. Like you're in a really great
- 57:07place in your life right now too.
- 57:09And it's so nice because like you can really have it all.
- 57:11You can have like enjoying where you are with your music and your
- 57:14career and all such as in your life.
- 57:16And I think I relate to that so much.
- 57:19When I have my career highs, that is where I feel my
- 57:22loneliest, my most, like depressive espresso.
- 57:25Like that's when I feel the worst about myself.
- 57:26That's when I get really paranoid.
- 57:27I get jumpy at everyone. I get like very much like, Oh my
- 57:29God, who's trying to use me or latch on to me for XYZ.
- 57:32And it's just like, it's such a turbulent mental space.
- 57:34So that's intense. And then you're very much in
- 57:37that moment, like very public facing.
- 57:39What's next? We're all watching you now.
- 57:41Like, that's so much pressure. And if I'm honest with you, I
- 57:45prefer the mental space I'm in now with maybe not having a
- 57:50viral moment to having a viral moment, but having literal,
- 57:54like, suicidal ideation every day.
- 57:56I'm. I think there's so much more to
- 57:58life than just doing well in my career.
- 58:01And my career is extremely important to me, but it's not
- 58:04everything. And I would much rather take the
- 58:06position I'm in now where I feel healthy.
- 58:09I'm taking care of myself. I'm not, you know, in the place
- 58:12I was too. Yeah.
- 58:14And, you know, I think music is always going to find and its
- 58:17way, like music lives forever once you put it out.
- 58:19I mean, even 911 didn't start getting traction or blowing up
- 58:22at all until almost two years after it came out.
- 58:24So I think these songs, I agree. Thank you for saying that.
- 58:28And I agree, I think these are the best songs I've ever made.
- 58:30And I do believe, like, they will find their moment and they
- 58:33will find like, what they're meant to find.
- 58:35The people who are meant to find them will find them.
- 58:39And yeah, I, I definitely do sometimes compare myself to the
- 58:42911 version of myself. But then I quickly remember how
- 58:46sad she was and how much she was struggling.
- 58:49And I'm like, no, this is a much better position to be in this.
- 58:52Is better, it's a better position, it's healthier for
- 58:54you. And honestly, the music, like
- 58:56the fan reactions, like I'm telling you, like my whole
- 58:58lesbian GIMP person theory came from the Commons.
- 59:02Like they had their theories and I was like, they're so into and
- 59:05they're so into the world. And that's the biggest blessing
- 59:07to for these people to rally so hard behind you and your art and
- 59:11your lyric and being excited for what's coming next and like
- 59:13you're really giving it back with the visuals and everything
- 59:16you're doing in the music. Like you're you're really
- 59:17delivering. So like you genuinely did earn
- 59:19all that love and support like it is so excellent.
- 59:22I really do have like the sweetest, most non-toxic fan
- 59:25base. Like I especially when I'm on
- 59:28tour and I'm in the room with everyone, I can really feel like
- 59:30this strong sense of love and just like community.
- 59:33And I'm really like lucky to have the fan base I have because
- 59:37there are a lot of fandoms that can be very like toxic and I
- 59:40love the fans. I love the.
- 59:41Ones that you're they become friends with each other.
- 59:44They're all like that's about people meet at my shows and
- 59:46become friends. Like it makes me so genuinely
- 59:49happy and I like to think that I am trying to like lead with love
- 59:53and they all really fit into that.
- 59:55And I I think and community and like obviously they're.
- 59:58Rallying behind something so special, like, and I'm so, so
- 1:00:01excited about this project and excited to hear the rest of it.
- 1:00:04And like I feel very empowered by it and just inspired by it in
- 1:00:06general. Like from you've been telling me
- 1:00:08about it a few months ago, I've heard nothing of it other than
- 1:00:11you describing it to me to like actually having the music out
- 1:00:13Now I'm like, damn bitch, you did it.
- 1:00:15You took it there. You really fucking took it
- 1:00:18there. I love it so much.
- 1:00:20Well, obviously you and I. Have gone super.
- 1:00:22Super fucking close and I love that for us.
- 1:00:24But you know, with everything talking about with the pressures
- 1:00:27of the industry and just being in like a public facing career,
- 1:00:31like a lot of things are said and a lot of rumors have been
- 1:00:34going around. I just want to take an
- 1:00:35opportunity right now to clear this up with you.
- 1:00:37We cleared up the Melanie thing, but we got the sense into the
- 1:00:41Duluth PR team this morning from Duluth Daily.
- 1:00:44So I didn't read it yet. I just thought maybe we would
- 1:00:47just talk about together, clear the air if there's an issue or
- 1:00:50anything. We had an allegation before.
- 1:00:54Maybe you're ripping off the concept of my second season,
- 1:00:56Delulu After Dark. And we, we, we worked it out.
- 1:00:59We worked it out. We worked it out.
- 1:01:00I'm still a little traumatized but we worked.
- 1:01:02It out it's OK like. Honestly, I I.
- 1:01:04Try not to look back at that part.
- 1:01:06Of our history, we've come so far.
- 1:01:07We've come so far, we've come so far.
- 1:01:09Let's see if we're going to get. Past this.
- 1:01:11So this came in from Delulu Daily this morning.
- 1:01:14What's going on? Delulu Daily exclusive.
- 1:01:19Pretty Evil star Elise seems pretty obsessed with Delulu
- 1:01:22podcast host Ryan Liu. Sources are claiming that the
- 1:01:26subject of Elise's new song her might not be so mysterious after
- 1:01:30all, with insiders pointing straight at the Lulu podcast
- 1:01:34host Ryan Liu clock. According to whispers, Elise has
- 1:01:38been. Obsessed.
- 1:01:39Allegedly thinking about Ryan 24/7 and even plotting her
- 1:01:43recent return to the show just to be around him again.
- 1:01:45Clock with lyrics like baby she's she's so pretty.
- 1:01:48It couldn't be more obvious that Ryan is the muse.
- 1:01:51Delulu Daily has reached out to Ryan for comment and Ryan said
- 1:01:54IDK if she doesn't get over me I'm going to go Chapel Rd. on
- 1:01:57her ass. Oh my God, I'm sweating.
- 1:02:01Elise, girl, I have to confess. Bedroom.
- 1:02:04Confessional. Give it to us.
- 1:02:07My bedroom confessional for you right now, yes.
- 1:02:11I was watching the podcast. I was.
- 1:02:13Stalking you from my fake account until 3:00 AM the night
- 1:02:18last night before I came here, I was hoping this wouldn't come
- 1:02:22out. I mean, and I know and I know
- 1:02:24who the sources. I know who the sources and I'll
- 1:02:27be having a word with them. But you're right, you're right.
- 1:02:29I mean, you should take it as a form of flattery.
- 1:02:31I'm I'm flattered and just like damn.
- 1:02:35Oh my gosh, I am I the muse for for her.
- 1:02:39You're the muse for her. That's what I thought.
- 1:02:42That's. What I thought I was enjoying
- 1:02:43the. Song I thought you would.
- 1:02:44I thought you would kind of get the hint because.
- 1:02:46I feel like I I like casted someone who kind of looks
- 1:02:51similar to you. Like literally that was me.
- 1:02:53I was like, like if you put on a red.
- 1:02:55Wig. That was literally me.
- 1:02:57And I was like, that's twin. And honestly, when I was
- 1:03:01listening to the song and I was like, didn't think anything of
- 1:03:03it. But then we got to the outro
- 1:03:05baby, she's so pretty. I was like, and I was like, Oh
- 1:03:09my God. Well, I hope.
- 1:03:11Here's what. I here's my hope.
- 1:03:13Hold my hand, I hope you can take it as a compliment.
- 1:03:16I do, because it really is 1. I love you and I know what I
- 1:03:21know what Rat leaked this info and I'll be having a word with
- 1:03:26them. But you were my muse.
- 1:03:28This is my bedroom confessional to you.
- 1:03:30You're the muse of her. Honestly, I'm flattered because
- 1:03:34that is such a banger. Thank you.
- 1:03:36Honestly, I know you know what? And yeah, and yes.
- 1:03:38It's a great song, so you're welcome.
- 1:03:40Thank you. I'm honestly so flattered.
- 1:03:42I love. It well, I'm not going to Chapel
- 1:03:44Row in you don't worry. Please don't.
- 1:03:46I'm so scared. I'm scared.
- 1:03:49Of her, I love her. She's a queen.
- 1:03:51No Chapel Roan hate here. Please do not come for us.
- 1:03:53You're like, no more fandoms, please no more.
- 1:03:57You could only take one at a time.
- 1:03:58Sensitive girl like I cry. A lot please.
- 1:04:02Oh my God, I'm just kidding. I'm a row inator.
- 1:04:04A row inator. I'm a Chapel a cha.
- 1:04:08A Cha. Cha you, I'm a chappy.
- 1:04:10We're chappies. Chappies for life.
- 1:04:13No, I I love that. Thank you so much like honestly
- 1:04:15and to delulu daily, like please just leave us alone.
- 1:04:19We want to have a normal life, like the paparazzi, like delulu.
- 1:04:23Daily needs to chill, needs to chill like and if her is about
- 1:04:26me, I'm not. Mad about it.
- 1:04:28Like I'm really not. My album's about you.
- 1:04:32The response? The response coming soon, coming
- 1:04:35soon, coming soon. Well, I hope it's.
- 1:04:38Nice. It's her is very nice.
- 1:04:40Her is so flattering. Yes.
- 1:04:42It's. Flattering it's.
- 1:04:43So flattering. And then honestly.
- 1:04:45Casting a look alike in your. Music video kind of camp, kind
- 1:04:48of camp. I like that looking camp right
- 1:04:52in. The eye period, OK.
- 1:04:54Well, I'm glad that we were squashed that again, I don't
- 1:04:57want any more problems like daily.
- 1:04:59Hopefully the basement they get run out of collapses.
- 1:05:02So for the next time you come on the show, OK, Well, at least
- 1:05:07honestly, you have been so grown and mature.
- 1:05:09We've talked about so much on this episode and like genuinely,
- 1:05:12even from talking to before you're coming from a better
- 1:05:15place frontal lobe fully developed sat in return all of
- 1:05:18that we have some best Dianas who are looking to us for some
- 1:05:21advice. This is WW ADD what would did
- 1:05:23Lou girl do so we're just going to give them our best to Lulu
- 1:05:27take and heal Some people do some therapy.
- 1:05:31You know how it is. OK first question from anonymous
- 1:05:33bestie. My boyfriend hasn't talked to me
- 1:05:35for the past month. We technically haven't broken up
- 1:05:38but does that mean we're broken up Yes absolutely.
- 1:05:41If you don't talk to me for like 2 1/2 days, we're.
- 1:05:42Done a month. A month.
- 1:05:44Let me say something to the camera.
- 1:05:46If your boyfriend ignores you unless.
- 1:05:48Listen, this isn't a blanket statement.
- 1:05:51Crazy things happen. But in 99% of situations, if you
- 1:05:55have a boyfriend and he ignores you for even one full day.
- 1:05:58One full day. That is not your boyfriend.
- 1:06:00That is not your boyfriend. That's.
- 1:06:01An op that's. Literally your enemy.
- 1:06:03He is plotting against. You he is plotting against you.
- 1:06:061,000,000% that's crazy. A month?
- 1:06:08A month? I agree you're broken.
- 1:06:10Up I you're. For sure broke up.
- 1:06:12You're broken up and it wasn't that serious to begin with.
- 1:06:15Apparently not. And you know what girl you
- 1:06:18should get? Revenge.
- 1:06:19I would act on it. I would act on it.
- 1:06:21You can lick Jolly Ranchers and then stick them.
- 1:06:24To a car and they RIP the paint off you you pulled that out real
- 1:06:30quick just. A little something I learned
- 1:06:33along the way. Oh yeah.
- 1:06:35Sure. OK, Jolly Rancher.
- 1:06:36Girl, OK, that was good. We're so healed.
- 1:06:40We're so healed. We're so healed.
- 1:06:41We're so mature. Here's another.
- 1:06:43One my boyfriend. Doesn't want to see me when I'm
- 1:06:44sick. Should I dump him?
- 1:06:47Dump his ass. Yes, OK, I have mixed feelings
- 1:06:51because. There's so many.
- 1:06:53Instances here. What if like?
- 1:06:54You have COVID and your boyfriend has to like, go to
- 1:06:57work and like, has bills to pay and can't catch.
- 1:06:59Like do I think your boyfriend should be taking care of you
- 1:07:02when you're sick? See, we have to come from a more
- 1:07:05healed mindset that you're so grown at least like you're
- 1:07:08genuinely grown. You're genuinely if.
- 1:07:11You have a little cold. And your boyfriend's not down to
- 1:07:13catch a cold. From you girl.
- 1:07:16Yeah, but like. If you have.
- 1:07:18Something and let's say like he has a prior commitment that he
- 1:07:21needs to be well for and needs to be healthy for.
- 1:07:24I kind of get it. Like me personally, if I had to
- 1:07:27like go on tour and my well that makes someone sick, I'm not
- 1:07:31going to go well. How do we know her boyfriend's
- 1:07:33not a pop *? OK, Ed Sheeran.
- 1:07:35Clock Ed Sheeran Ed Sheeran. He can afford a few weeks off.
- 1:07:38Sorry, she can. OK, bad example.
- 1:07:40Bad example. OK, that's fair.
- 1:07:43You were very. Mature I feel like for me, if I
- 1:07:47when my boyfriend is sick and I don't want to get I really don't
- 1:07:49want to get sick I hate getting sick because I work so much I
- 1:07:52still would go I think oh I mean if my boyfriend had the flu I.
- 1:07:57Would tongue kiss him so but that's just me.
- 1:08:00But I can understand like why someone wouldn't want to right,
- 1:08:03right, right, right right right. I'm like, you can spit my mouth.
- 1:08:06Like, it's fine, right? Of course.
- 1:08:08Of course, but, but you're also coming from place of.
- 1:08:10Empathy. Yes, I got it.
- 1:08:11I'm an empath, right? Same ZS, same.
- 1:08:13ZS same. ZS OK.
- 1:08:15So we have another one. This is our last one.
- 1:08:17Anonymous Bessie asked. My girlfriend's coworker is very
- 1:08:20hot and I'm spiraling. Should I be worried?
- 1:08:23My girlfriend's coworker is really hot.
- 1:08:24I'm spiraling. This is giving her.
- 1:08:27It is giving her. This is giving her, but it's
- 1:08:29giving her from like. The opposite.
- 1:08:31Perspective it's giving. Him my girlfriend's Co so.
- 1:08:35Basically you find him dating. A girl and yeah, and you find
- 1:08:39the coworker. Well.
- 1:08:42You need to search inside yourself.
- 1:08:43Because why do you have eyes for someone else when you're in a
- 1:08:46relationship? I think I think the context is
- 1:08:48that they're worried the. Girlfriend would find the Co
- 1:08:50worker attractive. Oh, so we're a little insecure
- 1:08:56they're obsessing over them? That requires an honest
- 1:09:01conversation, I think. I would just like accuse them of
- 1:09:04something and like start a big. Fight I personally would,
- 1:09:07because then here here's my logic.
- 1:09:08It's not toxic guys. I promise it's not toxic.
- 1:09:10Here's my logic. When you accuse them and start a
- 1:09:12fight, then you see their reaction.
- 1:09:14And if it really is nothing to be worried about, they'll, like,
- 1:09:16reacts appropriately. You know what I mean?
- 1:09:18But like, if it is something to worry about, then it's like, OK,
- 1:09:20let's address it, you know, now we're here.
- 1:09:22Yeah. Does that make sense?
- 1:09:23I mean, I've definitely done that.
- 1:09:25Like I'm not not guilty of that, but I would say an even more
- 1:09:29mature way would just be like, hey, your coworker, super baddy,
- 1:09:34super baddy. Do you love me?
- 1:09:36Like, are we good? Or is this?
- 1:09:38Solid. Do I have anything to be worried
- 1:09:40about, Bestie? Are we fantasizing about what
- 1:09:43it's like to be this coworker? Is the question.
- 1:09:45Yeah, I guess I'm a little confused on the the context,
- 1:09:48baby. She's so pretty.
- 1:09:49Yeah. Just fucking kill me.
- 1:09:52That's the answer, girl. That's the answer.
- 1:09:54That's actually. That's so complicated, honestly.
- 1:09:56It is very her, very her core. It is.
- 1:09:59God, what a fucking great song. Thank you.
- 1:10:01Of course. I can't wait to send you lip
- 1:10:03lock and bedroom confession. I'm so.
- 1:10:05Excited so you said that lip lock is like just it's like fun
- 1:10:07and. More casual.
- 1:10:08It's very calm. Delulu.
- 1:10:09I'm sorry, delulu. It's very delulu.
- 1:10:13We'll give it You got delulu sometimes.
- 1:10:15That's the. Only word that we can use.
- 1:10:17There's not a synonym. I was literally telling Brett he
- 1:10:19edits it. And I was telling him I was
- 1:10:21like, I'm. So sorry for all the comments.
- 1:10:22Sometimes there's no other word. I'm so sorry for all the what
- 1:10:29it's have to give it. Sorry and it's and then bedroom
- 1:10:34confessional. I'm like, you have to play them
- 1:10:36for me. OK, I'm so excited.
- 1:10:38And actually, before we wrap the show, So after bedroom
- 1:10:41confessional drops and then the final, the final video of a saga
- 1:10:46finishes the storyline. Like what can fans expect?
- 1:10:49Like, are we going to continue the bedroom confessional era?
- 1:10:51Are we moving into something different?
- 1:10:52Like what are we thinking? We might be able to continue the
- 1:10:55bedroom confessional. Era, I am thinking a bit about a
- 1:10:59little a little deluxe, little deluxe version.
- 1:11:03OK, so potentially that and what else can fans expect?
- 1:11:07I would say more touring this year.
- 1:11:09LALA, Los Angeles, yes. Hopefully.
- 1:11:13Europe this. Year, OK.
- 1:11:15And. Never have toured in Europe yet
- 1:11:16so that's definitely a goal for this year Clocky and just a lot
- 1:11:20more music I'm I'm really thinking about being in my
- 1:11:22Halloween bag again this year no way because you skipped it last
- 1:11:25year and the year before and it's.
- 1:11:27Time. I think it's time.
- 1:11:28No way returning to the. Roots, yeah.
- 1:11:31The original. Dark Pop, I miss it.
- 1:11:33I don't think it would be Dark Pop this time.
- 1:11:35What? Are we thinking I bedroom
- 1:11:36confessional this type like? World.
- 1:11:38I think it might be something a little different.
- 1:11:40I don't want to spill too. Much.
- 1:11:41But wait a minute, Elise. It won't be classic Elise.
- 1:11:44Halloween EP. Like it'll be something.
- 1:11:46It'll be the new version. It'll be like this new artist
- 1:11:48version of you, Yeah. We're so excited.
- 1:11:51I just remembered something. What?
- 1:11:53I have a spooky ass song I need to show you.
- 1:11:55Please show me. Let's go to the studio.
- 1:11:57I'm going to. We're going to go to the studio.
- 1:11:58I'm going to play it for you. No, you're the.
- 1:12:00Trailblazer, you are actually the Trailblazer.
- 1:12:02Oh, my gosh, I'm so excited. OK, OK, yes.
- 1:12:06Wait. Yes.
- 1:12:07OK, Come on. Come on.
- 1:12:08OK, Elise, we close out every show by manifesting together.
- 1:12:12Is there anything you want to speak into existence right here.
- 1:12:15On to Lulu again. You since the last time you're
- 1:12:18on the show, you've been having a very good existence.
- 1:12:21So good track record. What else do you want to speak
- 1:12:24out into the world right now? I want to speak this for all of
- 1:12:28us, everyone in the room. And everyone watching, I want to
- 1:12:32manifest that 2026 is a year of prosperity for everyone watching
- 1:12:37and everyone in this room, but more importantly, a year of
- 1:12:40inner peace and self love. And I know those sound basic,
- 1:12:44but I really feel like those are the foundations of prosperity.
- 1:12:47So if we can manifest inner peace and self love, we can
- 1:12:49manifest a beautiful year, a prosperous year.
- 1:12:52And that's what I want. Poetic and beautiful.
- 1:12:55And I'm claiming I. Very much want peace right now.
- 1:12:58Feel like there's been a lot of chaos recently.
- 1:13:01So yes, manifesting peace just like peace like peace, and quiet
- 1:13:07like everybody. Yeah, just just a minute, just a
- 1:13:11little. A little shut the fuck a moment
- 1:13:14from like the two biggest yappers.
- 1:13:17Oh my God, we need to do that. Tour we'll just the.
- 1:13:19App we'll just the app we'll just fucking literally we can
- 1:13:22just set chairs. On stage and yeah it.
- 1:13:23Would be so. Fucking dumb like people would
- 1:13:25love that. I loved it before we even
- 1:13:27started filming. We were talking about so many
- 1:13:29like. So much shit that would never
- 1:13:30make the show. It's like, but I was like, damn,
- 1:13:34we had to have our little queen out.
- 1:13:35We had to have a queen out. That's.
- 1:13:37What I was looking forward to. I feel like we have a really
- 1:13:39great time on the show, but before the show, every time,
- 1:13:41every time you've come just Oh my God, we have the best time.
- 1:13:45We get into it. Oh, we talk, girl.
- 1:13:48OK, I'm claiming all of that for all of us, too.
- 1:13:51And Elise, thank you so much for coming on the show again.
- 1:13:54Third time. It's going to be a fourth time.
- 1:13:56Let's keep racking it up. Let's keep racking it up,
- 1:13:57please. I love it.

- 1:14:03again. He was like it might.
- 1:14:04Be too soon. It was like a couple months ago
- 1:14:06and then I was like, and she was like, he was like closest to the
- 1:14:08EP release and he was like, we'll see if she even wants, you
- 1:14:11know, I was like, no, I, I literally told Charlie really I
- 1:14:14wanted to go back on to. This was this was written in the
