- 0:00Speaker 1: Third Ne fig. Chapter fourteen. And now it came to
- 0:04Speaker 1: pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he turned
- 0:07Speaker 1: again to the multitude, and it opened his mouth unto
- 0:10Speaker 1: them again, saying, verily, verily, I say unto you, judge
- 0:15Speaker 1: not that ye be not judged. For with what judgment
- 0:19Speaker 1: ye judge, ye shall be judged, And with what measure
- 0:23Speaker 1: ye meet, it shall be measured to you again. And
- 0:26Speaker 1: why beholdest thou the moat that is in thy brother's eye,
- 0:29Speaker 1: But considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me
- 0:36Speaker 1: pull the moat out of thine eye, and behold, a
- 0:39Speaker 1: beam is in thine own ee. Thou hypocrite, First cast
- 0:44Speaker 1: the beam out of thine own eye. And then shalt
- 0:46Speaker 1: thou see clearly to cast the moat out of thy
- 0:50Speaker 1: brother's eye. Give not that which is wholly unto the dogs.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample
- 0:58Speaker 1: them under their feet. And turn again and rend you ask,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and it shall be given unto you. Seek, and ye
- 1:05Speaker 1: shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
- 1:10Speaker 1: For every one that asketh receiveth and he that seeketh findeth,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or
- 1:19Speaker 1: what man is there of you, who, if his son
- 1:22Speaker 1: ask bread, will give him a stone, or if he
- 1:25Speaker 1: ask a fish, will he give him a serpent. If ye, then,
- 1:29Speaker 1: being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children,
- 1:33Speaker 1: how much more shall your father, who is in heaven,
- 1:36Speaker 1: give good things to them that ask him. Therefore, all things,
- 1:40Speaker 1: whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do
- 1:44Speaker 1: ye even so to them. For this is the law,
- 1:47Speaker 1: and the prophets. Enter ye in at the straight gate.
- 1:51Speaker 1: For why it is the gate, and broad is the
- 1:54Speaker 1: way which lead us to destruction. And many there be
- 1:57Speaker 1: who go in thereat, because is the gate, and narrow
- 2:01Speaker 1: is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there
- 2:04Speaker 1: be that find it. Beware of false prophets who come
- 2:08Speaker 1: to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather
- 2:18Speaker 1: grapes of thorns or figs of thistles? Even so every
- 2:22Speaker 1: good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree
- 2:26Speaker 1: bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth
- 2:31Speaker 1: evil fruit. Neither a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn
- 2:39Speaker 1: down and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits
- 2:43Speaker 1: ye shall know them. Not everyone that saith unto me,
- 2:47Speaker 1: Lord Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven. But
- 2:51Speaker 1: he that doeth the will of my Father, who is
- 2:54Speaker 1: in heaven. Many will say to me in that day,
- 2:57Speaker 1: Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy
- 3:03Speaker 1: name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess
- 3:07Speaker 1: unto them I never knew you. Depart from me, ye
- 3:12Speaker 1: that work iniquity. Therefore, whoso heareth these sayings of mine
- 3:17Speaker 1: and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise
- 3:19Speaker 1: man who built his house upon a rock. And the
- 3:23Speaker 1: rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew
- 3:26Speaker 1: and beat upon that house, and it fell not, for
- 3:30Speaker 1: it was founded upon a rock. And every one that
- 3:34Speaker 1: heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them not shall
- 3:37Speaker 1: be likened unto a foolish man who built his house
- 3:39Speaker 1: upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and the winds blew and beat upon that house. And
- 3:48Speaker 1: it fell, and great was the fall of it. Third Nephi,
- 3:54Speaker 1: chapter fifteen. And now it came to pass that when
- 3:57Speaker 1: Jesus had ended these sayings, he cast his eyes round
- 4:01Speaker 1: about on the multitude, and said, unto them, behold, ye
- 4:04Speaker 1: have heard the things which I taught before I ascended
- 4:07Speaker 1: to my father. Therefore, whoso remembereth these sayings of mine
- 4:10Speaker 1: and doeth them him, will I raise up at the
- 4:13Speaker 1: last day. And it came to pass that when Jesus
- 4:17Speaker 1: had said these words, he perceived that there were some
- 4:20Speaker 1: among them who marveled and wondered what he would concerning
- 4:24Speaker 1: the law of Moses. For they understood not the saying
- 4:27Speaker 1: that old things had passed away, and that all things
- 4:30Speaker 1: had become new. And he said, unto them, marvel not
- 4:34Speaker 1: that I said unto you that old things had passed away,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and that all things had become new. Behold, I say
- 4:40Speaker 1: unto you that the law is fulfilled that was given
- 4:43Speaker 1: unto Moses. Behold, I am he that gave the law,
- 4:48Speaker 1: and I am he who covenanted with my people Israel.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Therefore the law in me is fulfilled, for I have
- 4:54Speaker 1: come to fulfill the law. Therefore, at hath an end. Behold,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I do not destroy the prophets. For as many as
- 5:02Speaker 1: have not been fulfilled in me verily, I say unto
- 5:05Speaker 1: you shall all be fulfilled. And because I said unto
- 5:08Speaker 1: you that old things have passed away, I do not
- 5:11Speaker 1: destroy that which hath been spoken concerning things which are
- 5:14Speaker 1: to come. For behold, the covenant which I have made
- 5:17Speaker 1: with my people is not all fulfilled. But the law
- 5:20Speaker 1: which was given unto Moses hath an end in me. Behold,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I am the Law and the light. Look unto me,
- 5:28Speaker 1: and endure to the end, and ye shall live. For
- 5:32Speaker 1: unto him that endureth to the end, will I give
- 5:35Speaker 1: eternal life. Behold, I have given unto you the commandments.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Therefore keep my commandments. And this is the law and
- 5:43Speaker 1: the prophets, For they truly testified of me. And now
- 5:48Speaker 1: it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words,
- 5:51Speaker 1: he said, unto those twelve whom he had chosen, ye
- 5:54Speaker 1: are my disciples, and ye are a light unto this people,
- 5:58Speaker 1: who are a remnant of the house of Joseph. And behold,
- 6:02Speaker 1: this is the land of your inheritance, and the Father
- 6:05Speaker 1: hath given it unto you, and not at any time
- 6:09Speaker 1: hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell
- 6:12Speaker 1: it unto your brethren at Jerusalem. Neither at any time
- 6:15Speaker 1: hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell
- 6:18Speaker 1: unto them concerning the other tribes of the House of Israel,
- 6:21Speaker 1: whom the Father hath led away out of the land.
- 6:25Speaker 1: This much did the Father command me, that I should
- 6:27Speaker 1: tell unto them that other sheep I have which are
- 6:31Speaker 1: not of this fold. Them also I must bring, and
- 6:35Speaker 1: they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one
- 6:37Speaker 1: fold and one shepherd. And now, because of stiff nakedness
- 6:43Speaker 1: and unbelief, they understood not my word. Therefore I was
- 6:47Speaker 1: commanded to say no more of the Father concerning this
- 6:50Speaker 1: thing unto them. But verily I say unto you that
- 6:53Speaker 1: the Father hath commanded me, and I tell it unto
- 6:56Speaker 1: you that you were separated from among them because of
- 6:59Speaker 1: their their iniquity. Therefore it is because of their iniquity
- 7:03Speaker 1: that they know not of you. And verily I say
- 7:06Speaker 1: unto you again that the other tribes hath the Father
- 7:09Speaker 1: separated from them, and it is because of their iniquity
- 7:13Speaker 1: that they know not of them. And verily I say
- 7:16Speaker 1: unto you that ye are they of whom I said,
- 7:19Speaker 1: other sheep I have which are not of this fold.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and there shall be one fold and one shepherd. And
- 7:30Speaker 1: they understood me, not, for they supposed it had been
- 7:32Speaker 1: the Gentiles. For they understood not that the Gentiles should
- 7:36Speaker 1: be converted through their preaching. And they understood me not
- 7:40Speaker 1: that I said, they shall hear my voice. And they
- 7:43Speaker 1: understood me not that the Gentiles should not at any
- 7:46Speaker 1: time hear my voice, that I should not manifest myself
- 7:49Speaker 1: unto them, save it were by the Holy Ghost. But behold,
- 7:53Speaker 1: ye have both heard my voice and seen me, And
- 7:56Speaker 1: ye are my sheep, and ye are numbered among those
- 7:59Speaker 1: whom the Father hath given me Third Ney five, chapter sixteen.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And verily, verily, I say unto you that I have
- 8:09Speaker 1: other sheep which are not of this land, neither of
- 8:12Speaker 1: the land of Jerusalem, neither in any parts of that
- 8:14Speaker 1: land round about whither I have been to minister. For
- 8:18Speaker 1: they of whom I speak are they who have not
- 8:20Speaker 1: as yet heard my voice. Neither have I at any
- 8:23Speaker 1: time manifested myself unto them. But I have received a
- 8:27Speaker 1: commandment of the Father, that I shall go unto them,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and that they shall hear my voice and shall be
- 8:32Speaker 1: numbered among my sheep, that there may be one fold
- 8:35Speaker 1: and one shepherd. Therefore I go to show myself unto them.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And I command you that ye shall write these sayings
- 8:42Speaker 1: after I am gone, that if it so be that
- 8:45Speaker 1: my people at Jerusalem, they who have seen me and
- 8:48Speaker 1: have been with me in my ministry, do not ask
- 8:52Speaker 1: the Father in my name, that they may receive a
- 8:54Speaker 1: knowledge of you by the Holy Ghost, and also of
- 8:57Speaker 1: the other tribes whom they know not of, That these
- 9:00Speaker 1: sayings which ye shall write shall be kept and shall
- 9:02Speaker 1: be manifested unto the gentiles, that through the fullness of
- 9:05Speaker 1: the gentiles, the remnant of their seed, who shall be
- 9:09Speaker 1: scattered forth upon the face of the earth because of
- 9:11Speaker 1: their unbelief, may be brought in, or may be brought
- 9:15Speaker 1: to a knowledge of ME their Redeemer. And then will
- 9:18Speaker 1: I gather them in from the four quarters of the earth.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And then will I fulfill the covenant which the Father
- 9:24Speaker 1: hath made unto all the people of the House of Israel.
- 9:27Speaker 1: And blessed are the gentiles because of their belief in
- 9:30Speaker 1: Me in and of the Holy ghost which witnesses unto
- 9:34Speaker 1: them of Me and of the Father. Behold, because of
- 9:37Speaker 1: their belief in me, saith the Father, and because of
- 9:40Speaker 1: the unbelief of you, o House of Israel, in the
- 9:42Speaker 1: latter day shall the truth come unto the Gentiles, that
- 9:47Speaker 1: the fullness of these things shall be made known unto them.
- 9:50Speaker 1: But woe saith the Father unto the unbelieving of the gentiles.
- 9:55Speaker 1: For notwithstanding they have come forth upon the face of
- 9:57Speaker 1: this land and have scattered my people who are of
- 10:00Speaker 1: the House of Israel, and my people who are of
- 10:03Speaker 1: the House of Israel, have been cast out from among them,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and have been trodden under feet by them. And because
- 10:10Speaker 1: of the mercies of the Father unto the gentiles, and
- 10:13Speaker 1: also the judgments of the Father upon my people who
- 10:16Speaker 1: are of the House of Israel, Verily, verily, I say
- 10:19Speaker 1: unto you that after all this, and I have caused
- 10:22Speaker 1: my people who are of the House of Israel to
- 10:24Speaker 1: be smitten and to be afflicted, and to be slain,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and to be cast out from among them, and to
- 10:30Speaker 1: become hated by them, and to become a hiss and
- 10:34Speaker 1: a byword among them. And thus commandeth the Father that
- 10:38Speaker 1: I should say unto you. At that day when the
- 10:40Speaker 1: Gentiles shall sin against my gospel and shall reject the
- 10:44Speaker 1: fullness of my Gospel, and shall be lifted up in
- 10:47Speaker 1: the pride of their hearts above all nations and above
- 10:49Speaker 1: all the people of the whole earth, and shall be
- 10:52Speaker 1: filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and
- 10:56Speaker 1: of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and hortoms, and of secret abominations. And if they shall
- 11:05Speaker 1: do all those things and shall reject the fullness of
- 11:07Speaker 1: my gospel, behold, Saith the Father, I will bring the
- 11:11Speaker 1: fullness of my gospel from among them. And then will
- 11:15Speaker 1: I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people,
- 11:18Speaker 1: O House of Israel, and I will bring my gospel
- 11:21Speaker 1: unto them, And I will show unto thee O House
- 11:24Speaker 1: of Israel, that the gentiles shall not have power over you.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But I will remember my covenant unto you, O House
- 11:30Speaker 1: of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of
- 11:33Speaker 1: the fullness of my Gospel. But if the gentiles will
- 11:37Speaker 1: repent and return unto me, Saith the Father, behold, they
- 11:40Speaker 1: shall be numbered among my people, O House of Israel.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And I will not suffer my people, who are of
- 11:46Speaker 1: the House of Israel, to go through among them and
- 11:48Speaker 1: tread them down, saith the Father. But if they will
- 11:52Speaker 1: not turn unto me and hearken unto my voice, I
- 11:56Speaker 1: will suffer them. Yea, I will suffer my people, O
- 11:58Speaker 1: House of Israel, that they shall go through among them,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and shall tread them down. And they shall be a
- 12:04Speaker 1: sault which hath lost its savor, which is thenceforth good
- 12:10Speaker 1: for nothing but to be cast out and to be
- 12:12Speaker 1: trodden under foot of my people, O House of Israel. Verily, verily,
- 12:17Speaker 1: I say unto you. Thus hath the Father commanded me,
- 12:20Speaker 1: that I should give unto this people this land for
- 12:24Speaker 1: their inheritance. And then the words of the prophet Isaiah
- 12:27Speaker 1: shall be fulfilled, which say thy watchman shall lift up
- 12:31Speaker 1: the voice. With the voice. Together shall they sing, for
- 12:35Speaker 1: they shall see eye to eye. When the Lord shall
- 12:38Speaker 1: bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye
- 12:42Speaker 1: waste places of Jerusalem. For the Lord hath comforted his people,
- 12:47Speaker 1: he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath may bare his
- 12:51Speaker 1: Holy arm in the eye of all the nations and
- 12:54Speaker 1: all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation
- 12:57Speaker 1: of God thirty five, chapter seventeen. Behold, now it came
- 13:05Speaker 1: to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he
- 13:08Speaker 1: looked round about again on the multitude, and he said,
- 13:11Speaker 1: unto them, behold, my time is at hand. I perceive
- 13:15Speaker 1: that ye are weak, that ye cannot understand all my words,
- 13:20Speaker 1: which I am commanded of the Father to speak unto
- 13:22Speaker 1: you at this time. Therefore, go ye unto your homes
- 13:26Speaker 1: and ponder upon the things which I have said, and
- 13:29Speaker 1: ask of the Father in my name, that ye may understand,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and prepare your minds for the morrow. And I come
- 13:36Speaker 1: unto you again. But now I go unto the Father,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and also to show myself unto the lost shribes of Israel,
- 13:44Speaker 1: for they are not lost unto the Father, for he
- 13:47Speaker 1: knoweth whither he hath taken them. And it came to
- 13:50Speaker 1: pass that when Jesus had spoken, he cast his eyes
- 13:53Speaker 1: round about again on the multitude, and behold, they were
- 13:57Speaker 1: in tears, and did look steadfast upon him, as if
- 14:01Speaker 1: they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them.
- 14:05Speaker 1: And he said unto them, behold, my bowels are filled
- 14:08Speaker 1: with compassion towards you have ye, any that are sick
- 14:13Speaker 1: among you, bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame,
- 14:18Speaker 1: or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that
- 14:22Speaker 1: are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted
- 14:26Speaker 1: in any manner, Bring them hither, and I will heal them.
- 14:32Speaker 1: For I have compassion upon you. My bowels are filled
- 14:35Speaker 1: with mercy. For I perceive that ye desire that I
- 14:40Speaker 1: should show unto you what I have done unto your
- 14:42Speaker 1: brethren at Jerusalem. For I see that your faith is
- 14:46Speaker 1: sufficient that I should heal you. And it came to
- 14:49Speaker 1: pass that when he had thus spoken, all the multitude
- 14:52Speaker 1: with one accord, it go forth with their sick and
- 14:56Speaker 1: they are afflicted, and their lame, and with their blind
- 15:00Speaker 1: and with their dumb, and with all them that were
- 15:03Speaker 1: afflicted in any manner. And he did heal them, every
- 15:06Speaker 1: one as they were brought forth unto him. And they
- 15:10Speaker 1: did all both, they who had been healed, and they
- 15:13Speaker 1: who were whole, bow down at his feet and did
- 15:16Speaker 1: worship him. And as many as could come, for the
- 15:20Speaker 1: multitude did kiss his feet in so much that they
- 15:22Speaker 1: did bathe his feet with their tears. And it came
- 15:27Speaker 1: to pass that he commanded that their little children should
- 15:30Speaker 1: be brought. So they brought their little children and set
- 15:34Speaker 1: them down upon the ground round about him, and Jesus
- 15:38Speaker 1: stood in the midst, and the multitude gave way till
- 15:41Speaker 1: they had all been brought unto him. And it came
- 15:44Speaker 1: to pass that when they had all been brought, and
- 15:46Speaker 1: Jesus stood in the midst, he commanded the multitude that
- 15:50Speaker 1: they should kneel down upon the ground. And it came
- 15:53Speaker 1: to pass that when they had knelt upon the ground,
- 15:56Speaker 1: Jesus groaned within himself and said, Father, I am troubled
- 16:03Speaker 1: because of the wickedness of the people of the House
- 16:05Speaker 1: of Israel. And when he had said these words, he
- 16:10Speaker 1: himself also knelt upon the earth, and behold, he prayed
- 16:14Speaker 1: unto the Father. And the things which he prayed cannot
- 16:17Speaker 1: be written. And the multitude did bear record who heard him?
- 16:22Speaker 1: And after this manner do they bear record. The eye
- 16:26Speaker 1: hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard before so
- 16:30Speaker 1: great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus
- 16:33Speaker 1: speak unto the Father. And no tongue can speak, neither
- 16:38Speaker 1: can there be written by any man, neither can the
- 16:40Speaker 1: hearts of men conceive of so great and marvelous things
- 16:44Speaker 1: as we both saw and heard Jesus speak. And no
- 16:47Speaker 1: one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls
- 16:51Speaker 1: at the time we heard him pray for us unto
- 16:53Speaker 1: the Father. And it came to pass that when Jesus
- 16:57Speaker 1: had made an end of praying unto the Father, he arose.
- 17:00Speaker 1: But so great was the joy of the multitude that
- 17:02Speaker 1: they were overcome. And it came to pass that Jesus
- 17:05Speaker 1: spake unto them and bade them arise, and they arose
- 17:09Speaker 1: from the earth, and he said unto them, blessed are
- 17:12Speaker 1: ye because of your faith, And now behold, my joy
- 17:17Speaker 1: is full. And when he had said these words, he wept,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and the multitude bare record of it. And he took
- 17:24Speaker 1: their little children one by one and blessed them and
- 17:29Speaker 1: prayed unto the Father for them. And when he had
- 17:32Speaker 1: done this, he wept again, and he spake unto the
- 17:36Speaker 1: multitude and said unto them, behold your little ones. And
- 17:41Speaker 1: as they looked to behold, they cast their eyes towards heaven,
- 17:44Speaker 1: and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels
- 17:47Speaker 1: descending out of heaven, as it were in the midst
- 17:51Speaker 1: of fire, and they came down and encircled those little
- 17:55Speaker 1: ones about, and they were encircled about with fire, and
- 17:59Speaker 1: the Angel did minister unto them. And the multitude did
- 18:03Speaker 1: see and hear and bear record. And they know that
- 18:07Speaker 1: their record is true, for they all of them did
- 18:10Speaker 1: see and hear, every man for himself. And they were
- 18:14Speaker 1: in number about two thousand and five hundred souls, and
- 18:18Speaker 1: they did consist of men, women, and children. End of
- 18:23Speaker 1: Third Nephi, chapters fourteen through seventeen,
