- 1:25Speaker 3: This is a podcast call twenty five wist stuck.
- 1:29Speaker 4: In funball and they are whizz so yet it's too bad?
- 1:33Speaker 5: But what did you expect?
- 1:35Speaker 3: It's a podcast called twenty five bis Souls.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Twenty line World.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Everybody, all right, hit it? Thank you.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Not that college basketball is a big deal right now,
- 1:46Speaker 1: but there was a story about Wagner basketball coach Donald Copeland.
- 1:50Speaker 1: He's under investigation for mistreating his players and for verbally
- 1:53Speaker 1: abusing them. This is from the New York Post. I
- 1:56Speaker 1: don't think this is funny. I was already thinking of
- 2:00Speaker 1: what I was gonna say. I don't think this is funny,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but how bad? But a little bit, I'm like, this
- 2:07Speaker 1: is kind of just the culture of being coached. Also,
- 2:09Speaker 1: maybe I'm just getting old. Yeah, we should do that.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Maybe I'm just getting old, and I'll have something about
- 2:14Speaker 1: like a sports take that we have. But he called
- 2:17Speaker 1: a player a quote, I won't say it, but.
- 2:20Speaker 4: A pu okay, oh well, okay.
- 2:23Speaker 1: He called one a bee, he called one a punk,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and he called one a vagina. And maybe you call
- 2:29Speaker 1: the same player all four of those. But those are
- 2:31Speaker 1: four times. Now, if a coach is yelling at you,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm like, that's coaching. That's just hard coaching. Some coaches
- 2:36Speaker 1: coach uncomfortably like that, and that style doesn't work from
- 2:39Speaker 1: every coach or with every person. But if I'm on
- 2:44Speaker 1: a sports team and somebody's calling me a vagina, I'm
- 2:46Speaker 1: probably like, I'm playing like a vagina. I need to
- 2:48Speaker 1: shape up.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Also, if I could take a few steps back, I
- 2:52Speaker 1: would say I wish the vagina wasn't associated with being weak,
- 2:56Speaker 1: because the vagina is not weak. No, But the understanding
- 2:59Speaker 1: is if somebody calls you a vagina and that means weak,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but the vagina's not weak. It actually I know that,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I do know that it has it has baby. It's
- 3:07Speaker 1: a passage away.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Right, It does have a baby. You're right, that's my point.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I fundamentally I have a problem with the vagina being
- 3:14Speaker 1: associates being weak, But I can't remove that. All I
- 3:17Speaker 1: can say is it is associated with it, and so
- 3:19Speaker 1: is the P word. And so if a coach y'll
- 3:22Speaker 1: that at me, I'd be like, I probably am, so okay,
- 3:25Speaker 1: let's move on. He also allegedly told another player, if
- 3:29Speaker 1: you're thirsty, swallow your spit. There's probably a time I
- 3:32Speaker 1: need to hear that, like, I get it.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I feel like I have heard that.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I get it. You got to give people water. But
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm sure he's not yelling this anytime any player's thirsty.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It's probably wise being a vagina. And then after finding
- 3:48Speaker 1: a hidden gatorade bottle, this is great. He told players,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you're all going to run until the gatorad's out of
- 3:57Speaker 1: his belly. So, but what he's doing is he's punishing
- 4:00Speaker 1: the whole team for one person cheating that happens.
- 4:03Speaker 5: You can't do this. But I don't hear this and go.
- 4:09Speaker 1: That this is any different than probably ninety percent of
- 4:11Speaker 1: cultures with hard nosed coaches.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I can guarantee this goes on everywhere.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Everywhere, at every sport, and there may be other things
- 4:17Speaker 1: I don't know about. All I know is I read
- 4:19Speaker 1: part of the story because I saw the headline. I
- 4:21Speaker 1: clicked into it because the New York Post had the
- 4:22Speaker 1: whole article. And Wagner basketball coach Donald Copeland is under
- 4:26Speaker 1: investigation from mistreating players. I say, we investigate him for
- 4:29Speaker 1: being someone that gives hard love.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:32Speaker 5: All of that happened to me yesterday at home.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, my life.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Yeah, on my eighth grade junior high team in West
- 4:39Speaker 6: Sex's you know.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Friend's wife like is like tricks man, darty model. Yes, ma'am.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I'm just going to lead with that because I don't
- 4:48Speaker 1: know the full story. If it's worse than that, then
- 4:50Speaker 1: count me unto the club of people that's like, ah,
- 4:53Speaker 1: maybe you shouldn't be coaching, but if it's just that
- 4:56Speaker 1: I played sports, and also I could just be old
- 4:59Speaker 1: at this point, we were talked to like that, and
- 5:02Speaker 1: I think for me it helped at times.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Well, like where do we draw the line, because that's
- 5:06Speaker 5: where I struggle to is because I'm with you, I'm like,
- 5:09Speaker 5: that just sounds like normal coaching to me.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That get fired out question. I think the line is
- 5:13Speaker 1: drawn because it is a nuanced filled situation. I think
- 5:18Speaker 1: the line is drawn is do you trust the person
- 5:21Speaker 1: that's saying this stuff to be doing it for the
- 5:23Speaker 1: right reason?
- 5:24Speaker 5: Good point.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I don't think it's ever a line of exactly what's happening,
- 5:27Speaker 1: because I think there are reasons that things happen. Why
- 5:29Speaker 1: coaches go hard, they flip tables, they give hugs, all
- 5:33Speaker 1: for different reasons, same exact coach. Do you trust that
- 5:36Speaker 1: coach to communicate with you or the person that you love?
- 5:39Speaker 1: And if you do, then you have to trust them.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Mm hm.
- 5:42Speaker 4: So I think that's it, and there's a way to
- 5:44Speaker 4: do it right, Like there for every time you call
- 5:47Speaker 4: them the P word, you got to say two good
- 5:48Speaker 4: things about it.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think that's a book that a therapist strokes more
- 5:53Speaker 1: than that's how to coach.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Okay, so.
- 5:57Speaker 1: If it's worse than that, I'll retract this whole thing.
- 6:00Speaker 1: What I read that those were the main complaints, and
- 6:02Speaker 1: I read that as someone that played sports in the nineties,
- 6:06Speaker 1: and I was like, yeah, maybe they were being a.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I wonder if that's one kid like just yes,
- 6:11Speaker 5: you know, that's another thing to like, is he is
- 6:13Speaker 5: he getting his teammates together, or there just one kid
- 6:15Speaker 5: going behind the scenes like this coach said this to.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Me, or it's multiple kids who didn't get to play yep,
- 6:22Speaker 1: or who wanted to try. We just don't know the
- 6:24Speaker 1: whole situation.
- 6:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I hated my head coaches when I didn't play. I
- 6:29Speaker 5: never did.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I thought I must suck and he just called me
- 6:32Speaker 1: a pee words. I gotta get better.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Same yeah, same, I never played anyway, So yeah, there's
- 6:38Speaker 4: no difference to me.
- 6:39Speaker 5: I want to lead with that.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Second thing I have also not football, and I know
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's very football time, is the robot ops I'm in.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I could not be in anymore. Now they're not going
- 6:49Speaker 1: to be full robot opps. You get two challenges, and
- 6:53Speaker 1: the only people that can challenge with the manager of
- 6:54Speaker 1: the batter in the picture. So you get two challenges.
- 6:57Speaker 1: If you're correcting your challenge of a ball or strike,
- 6:59Speaker 1: you get that challeng it remains, but once you're two down,
- 7:03Speaker 1: you don't get them anymore. The amount of money that
- 7:06Speaker 1: is being bet on sports now, things have to be right.
- 7:10Speaker 1: It's why I like the digital first downs.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Dude, those are awesome. It's fun when they put it
- 7:15Speaker 5: up on the screen.
- 7:15Speaker 7: I know.
- 7:16Speaker 5: I'm like, yeah, this is cool, and it takes like nothing, Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 5: five seconds. I get it.
- 7:20Speaker 1: We like humans. But whenever it's more than just entertainment.
- 7:27Speaker 1: When people are betting money. There's a whole industry built
- 7:29Speaker 1: on the betting of money on these sports, billion dollar industries.
- 7:33Speaker 1: We can't have some fifty nine year old, slightly overweight
- 7:38Speaker 1: guy with one cataract making a decision right that also
- 7:42Speaker 1: might might have had a bad day in the morning.
- 7:45Speaker 5: There's a human element to it.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's affecting his calls or her calls. So
- 7:50Speaker 1: I am totally for it.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Yeah, that's Eddie's kids school on the line.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You know.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Oh when you gamble, Yeah, I see what he's saying.
- 7:57Speaker 4: It is. I mean, I get upset. Whenever i'll close
- 7:59Speaker 4: he strike. And the only reason I'm mad because I'm
- 8:02Speaker 4: gonna lose the bet.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, how's the chain gang going? You still doing that?
- 8:06Speaker 7: Dude?
- 8:06Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I did it one time. Have you done it a
- 8:09Speaker 5: second time?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Oh?
- 8:09Speaker 4: I haven't. And they had a home game last weekend.
- 8:12Speaker 4: I didn't get a call. I think the problem was
- 8:14Speaker 4: my wife says that the guy knew that I was.
- 8:18Speaker 4: She said that the guy knew that I was going
- 8:20Speaker 4: out of town and that's why he didn't call me.
- 8:22Speaker 4: But the fact that he didn't text me or call
- 8:25Speaker 4: me and say, hey, are you able to do it
- 8:26Speaker 4: this weekend worries me because we had a home game,
- 8:30Speaker 4: he had a substitute. Didn't even ask me if I
- 8:33Speaker 4: was going to be in town even though I wasn't
- 8:34Speaker 4: in town.
- 8:35Speaker 5: You haven't talked to him since.
- 8:36Speaker 1: No, Yeah, I think you're probably like third backup now
- 8:41Speaker 1: you think so? Probably?
- 8:43Speaker 4: Gosh, dude, I was so good at it though, And
- 8:44Speaker 4: that's what I told my wife, Like I thought I
- 8:46Speaker 4: was meant for that job, Like it's really.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Not a job I want to be meant for, Like
- 8:50Speaker 1: that's a job that's an entry level job. Like if
- 8:53Speaker 1: you wanted to be like a referee.
- 8:54Speaker 4: No, no, no, I couldn't do that. I couldn't handle
- 8:56Speaker 4: the referee, did I have? Like I see a butterfly
- 8:59Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh, oh, shoot, missed the call. With this,
- 9:02Speaker 4: it's like it's me and another guy, Like we're pulling
- 9:05Speaker 4: the chain. Whenever they're slacking the chain, somebody's slacking, you know,
- 9:08Speaker 4: And like I love that about it. It's a team effort,
- 9:11Speaker 4: and when I did it, the guy said I did great,
- 9:14Speaker 4: So I loved it. And you're in the action. You
- 9:17Speaker 4: get to hear all the players conversations, you get to
- 9:20Speaker 4: see the game front road. I'm I was meant for that.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's high school still, you can see the front in
- 9:25Speaker 1: front road. No, you can stay on the fence.
- 9:27Speaker 4: No, dude, you can't hear like. They won't even let
- 9:29Speaker 4: you get on the track unless you have a pass.
- 9:32Speaker 5: You don't know anybody, you know I feel, I.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Mean, I could probably ask someone.
- 9:36Speaker 1: But you want to do I'm probably old. Now you
- 9:40Speaker 1: have sports take.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Yes, Yeah, I was watching all these games, especially this year,
- 9:45Speaker 5: and I look at it. We talked about the jewelry before,
- 9:48Speaker 5: players wearing necklaces and all this stuff, and I'm like, God,
- 9:50Speaker 5: I don't know how they play with that. But lately
- 9:53Speaker 5: I've been seeing grills everywhere. Right, every single player has
- 9:57Speaker 5: a grill. Now, I'm like, do you wear a mouthpiece
- 9:59Speaker 5: with that? Isn't that uncomfortable? How do you talk with that?
- 10:02Speaker 5: Quarterbacks are wearing grills? So when did this become a
- 10:05Speaker 5: thing where all these guys are wearing grills everyone but.
- 10:08Speaker 1: They're playing, They're wearing them in game.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Yeah, Like I saw a interview with a safety from
- 10:13Speaker 5: the Browns and he had a grill in his mouth
- 10:15Speaker 5: after the game on the field.
- 10:17Speaker 1: There's maybe someone brought it to him, though you think possibly,
- 10:22Speaker 1: like I'm about to go on TV handing my grill
- 10:24Speaker 1: because I had really expensive one and I was gonna
- 10:25Speaker 1: go on TV, hammy my grill. I've never seen a
- 10:28Speaker 1: grill in game. I'm not saying it's not because I
- 10:31Speaker 1: did watch Jackson Dart wear the biggest fringing diamond necklace
- 10:36Speaker 1: as a backup quarterback, although he did go in with it.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But I'm like, I wouldn't wear that as a wide receiver.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I get it because you may get thrown to nine
- 10:45Speaker 1: times a game as a quarterback. They're coming at you
- 10:48Speaker 1: every play and they're grabbing at you every play. So
- 10:51Speaker 1: I haven't seen a grill in game.
- 10:53Speaker 5: But even like Kamara, doesn't he wear a grill.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yea, he wears it in game, though.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I mean I seen that guy smile in the game
- 10:58Speaker 5: and it's like in your face.
- 11:00Speaker 4: That might be TV.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Had like dazzled a mouthpiece diamonds. Maybe he did, but
- 11:06Speaker 5: I've seen some players lately. Even my wife noticed last week,
- 11:09Speaker 5: She's like, how do they play with that? Like, I
- 11:11Speaker 5: have no idea. That sounds miserable. But I don't know
- 11:13Speaker 5: if I'm just being old and like it's a thing
- 11:15Speaker 5: now or what.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 5: I think it's a little bit of old, is it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I think so? Dang, just culture changes. You guys have anything?
- 11:21Speaker 4: Yeah, ah that mine's basketball. And maybe I'm just old.
- 11:24Speaker 4: But I don't like the way the coaches are now
- 11:26Speaker 4: just wearing sweats when they coach a basketball game. Like
- 11:29Speaker 4: I like the suits. I like for them to come
- 11:31Speaker 4: on looking good, and half of them do. But there's
- 11:34Speaker 4: a handful of coaches that just like, you know, I
- 11:36Speaker 4: don't care, man, I'm just wearing whatever I wore today
- 11:38Speaker 4: to coach. I don't like that.
- 11:41Speaker 1: The old Cowboys coach used to wear a fedora in
- 11:43Speaker 1: suit and tie. Yeah, Landry, is that what you look Tom?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Landry back?
- 11:48Speaker 4: I mean, it's it's to me, it's like when you
- 11:50Speaker 4: look at the head coach, when you look on like
- 11:52Speaker 4: the sideline or whatever, You're like, okay, assistant assistant. Now
- 11:55Speaker 4: that's the head coach. I can tell why because he
- 11:57Speaker 4: looks dapper.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I always think it's interesting to watch all the coaches
- 12:00Speaker 1: because there are so many coaches doing signals. I want
- 12:05Speaker 1: to wear a hot pink hat, want to wear a
- 12:07Speaker 1: hot green hat. One to wears a black hat, and
- 12:10Speaker 1: you're like, man, a weird wardrobe choice. But it's just
- 12:13Speaker 1: so they can be seen on the sideline.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's funny too. Like whenever I go to a game,
- 12:17Speaker 4: I like to try to find the head coach and
- 12:20Speaker 4: it's so hard. Like on TV, they're always on them,
- 12:23Speaker 4: but like in person, the head coach I can't tell.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Like it's usually he's usually not yelling to the players,
- 12:30Speaker 4: just hanging back.
- 12:31Speaker 5: Brandon, you want to do one, we just do it
- 12:33Speaker 5: on you.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Man, So did you guys see what happened to the
- 12:36Speaker 6: Cleveland Guardians guy in the face?
- 12:39Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 12:39Speaker 6: Okay. Back when I played baseball and all this time
- 12:43Speaker 6: I've been like, yeah, man, like we don't need face
- 12:45Speaker 6: masks in baseball.
- 12:47Speaker 1: We need them, like who wants to play a man take?
- 12:50Speaker 6: I appreciate that to have reconstructive surgery on their face
- 12:54Speaker 6: or even die just put a little you know, they
- 12:57Speaker 6: wear fit. They wear masks in football. One softball they do.
- 13:01Speaker 1: That's true preference, right, college college softball, not slow pitch
- 13:05Speaker 1: college softball, they wear masks, and everybody does, Okay, even
- 13:10Speaker 1: the pitchers, most of them do. Even the pitchers. A
- 13:14Speaker 1: lot of them wear a it looks like a catcher's
- 13:16Speaker 1: mask without the helmet. They put it over their face
- 13:18Speaker 1: and throat because that rubber is it's not really a mound,
- 13:23Speaker 1: but the rubber is so much closer and slow pitch,
- 13:25Speaker 1: and they're throwing so hard that a line shot you
- 13:27Speaker 1: have almost no time to react.
- 13:29Speaker 6: Yeah, i'd be the guy. You know, the guys wearing
- 13:31Speaker 6: the Guardian caps and baseball. I'd have the Guardian cap on.
- 13:34Speaker 6: I'd have a mask, Yeah, i'd have I'd be like
- 13:37Speaker 6: wrapped in bubble.
- 13:38Speaker 4: If I had to be topple over because you're so top.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Heavy, just roll the first base.
- 13:42Speaker 6: And I'm just not realizing. This is definitely an old
- 13:45Speaker 6: man take. But I mean, geez, you could die from
- 13:47Speaker 6: a fastball.
- 13:48Speaker 4: How is that guy? Is he all right?
- 13:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:51Speaker 6: I know that I think he passed the test.
- 13:59Speaker 5: I looked up to it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, he died.
- 14:02Speaker 6: But then he was giggling, So alright, no past the
- 14:04Speaker 6: brain test. I guess you do think he got through that.
- 14:08Speaker 6: I think we would have heard. I knew he was
- 14:10Speaker 6: in the hospital.
- 14:11Speaker 5: But I expected to recover six to eight weeks. Ninety
- 14:14Speaker 5: nine hours fastball right to the face. I got hit
- 14:16Speaker 5: in the face once. Really, Yeah, it was a curveball.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Never curved right and face so.
- 14:20Speaker 4: It wasn't a curve ball.
- 14:21Speaker 5: I mean that.
- 14:22Speaker 1: The picture, it's brutal. Yeah, Like a buddy sent me
- 14:26Speaker 1: that and he was like, imagine that ninety nine right
- 14:29Speaker 1: because he was bunning. He hit the butun up right
- 14:32Speaker 1: in the breaking the picture.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Oh, the picture felt terrible.
- 14:36Speaker 1: When you're bunning though you're leaning in, Yeah, you're leaning in.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Okay, let's talk football for a second, something
- 14:49Speaker 1: I don't normally do. I'll lead with this Arkansas football.
- 14:53Speaker 5: That's a joke.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Okay, we do it all the time.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I was like, who's gonna tell.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Him they're gonna be Notre dame?
- 15:05Speaker 4: What's he doing here? I believe it, Kevin, what's he
- 15:07Speaker 4: doing here?
- 15:09Speaker 5: He's gonna set something up? Just say, somebody getting money?
- 15:11Speaker 5: Maybe what's going on? What do you mean to somebody
- 15:14Speaker 5: getting like, are you gonna say Arkansas beats them?
- 15:16Speaker 7: Then?
- 15:17Speaker 5: Something something.
- 15:19Speaker 4: That feeling like what are you? What are you thinking?
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's the most Arkansas thing ever, the most to lose,
- 15:26Speaker 1: the most embarrassing game in years, and it's the game
- 15:29Speaker 1: that's probably getting your head coach fired just to come
- 15:33Speaker 1: back and win like this big game Notre Dame's coming
- 15:36Speaker 1: to town, and and a bit offset that we're only
- 15:41Speaker 1: a four and a half point underdog.
- 15:43Speaker 4: I saw that.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it started at like seven or eight. It
- 15:47Speaker 1: was it five and a half yesterday. Really it's at
- 15:50Speaker 1: four and a half now it's shrinking. I don't think
- 15:53Speaker 1: Notre Dame is that good anyway. Their defense is not good.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Our defense is terrible.
- 15:59Speaker 4: So get the over.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I wonder what's the over?
- 16:03Speaker 1: The over is like sixty sixty.
- 16:06Speaker 4: One or more four and a half.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I think that was going to say it's sixty one.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Vegas nose.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I'd probably bet the over, but not a for sure.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Two bad defenses, man, And I mean, I think y'all's
- 16:23Speaker 4: offense is pretty good.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Our offense is amazing. We have a great offensive coordinator.
- 16:27Speaker 1: We have a really good quarterback. We have pretty good receivers.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Our offensive line is legit. We have a strong offense.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Except for the fumbling we've done to lose two games. Yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: we've literally fumbled two games away. No no, no, literally, yeah.
- 16:43Speaker 1: All we had to do in the Memphis game was
- 16:44Speaker 1: taken knee. Just don't run the ball. If we take
- 16:46Speaker 1: a knee in the kick a field goal, we win
- 16:48Speaker 1: the game regardless. And I saw a question, and this
- 16:53Speaker 1: is when I'll ask you, guys, have you ever rooted
- 16:56Speaker 1: for your favorite team to lose for something bigger than
- 16:58Speaker 1: that one game? And I thought about this and I
- 17:00Speaker 1: never have, Like I can't even if going into it,
- 17:03Speaker 1: I have the understanding macro instead of micro, it probably
- 17:07Speaker 1: would be better for the long term future of the program.
- 17:09Speaker 1: If this victory did not happen. I can't do it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I've wanted to do it, but I can't watch my
- 17:13Speaker 1: own team and root against them. I'm rooting for us
- 17:16Speaker 1: as hard as I possibly can't, even though I think
- 17:18Speaker 1: we need a coaching change.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Is it because it's it's against Notre Dame at all?
- 17:20Speaker 1: Or no period period? Like I wish I could separate
- 17:25Speaker 1: a little more and go long term versus short term,
- 17:28Speaker 1: but I can't. If you ever rooted against your absolute
- 17:32Speaker 1: favorite team because you think it's better for that team
- 17:36Speaker 1: if they lose, yep, last year, Patriots because you want
- 17:39Speaker 1: a new coach.
- 17:40Speaker 5: That the number one pick.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Yeah, the draft.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Oh, that's such a good one college.
- 17:44Speaker 1: We don't have that at that And then we won,
- 17:46Speaker 1: that's right, and.
- 17:47Speaker 5: We lost a number one pick. Yeah, And I was like,
- 17:51Speaker 5: what the heck? The first time I've ever rooted against
- 17:54Speaker 5: my team that makes they win with a backup quarterback
- 17:57Speaker 5: and we lose a number one draft pick.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I think I could do that because you're rooting for
- 18:00Speaker 1: the number one pick.
- 18:01Speaker 5: I'm never in that mix.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Of a pick.
- 18:03Speaker 5: We're just that's true, But it was to get the eighty.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Fourth portal pick. Regardless of same of the Cowboys, We've
- 18:09Speaker 4: never been that bad. We've always been round the middle.
- 18:11Speaker 5: That's the worst kind of bad, to be sure. It's
- 18:13Speaker 5: kind of like the Steelers. Yeah, you guys are always
- 18:16Speaker 5: the middle of the pack. Yes, less than the Steelers.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Whoa, they're not as good as the Steelers because Steelers
- 18:21Speaker 1: have been a losing record.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's true.
- 18:23Speaker 1: The Cowboys pats and losing records, Yes, we have. Uh,
- 18:26Speaker 1: have you ever rooted against the Cowboys in a single game, Eddie?
- 18:28Speaker 4: I don't think so, man, And like, I struggle a
- 18:31Speaker 4: lot with the fantasy situation, you know sometimes and I'm
- 18:33Speaker 4: just like, I really need the fantasy points here. But
- 18:35Speaker 4: I've never rooted against the Cowboys. Nope, never, for no reason.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I think also you'd root against the Cowboys though up
- 18:42Speaker 1: a number one pick was at play.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yes, but we've never been in that situation as while
- 18:46Speaker 4: I've been a fan.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah that's a great point though, because we were like
- 18:49Speaker 1: fake fan. But that's a good fan.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks guys.
- 18:52Speaker 1: So I want Arkansas to win. I also hope we
- 18:54Speaker 1: have a new head coach next year. Yeah that's tough,
- 18:58Speaker 1: but I and I think if Arkansas win, it probably
- 19:00Speaker 1: slows that process down. But I came the game, I
- 19:04Speaker 1: just I can't. I think Arkansas has a great I
- 19:07Speaker 1: would bet Arkansas and take the four and a half points.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I don't feel great about it because I'm mostly attached
- 19:13Speaker 1: to it. I have a bias, like that's not my
- 19:15Speaker 1: recommended bet of the week, not even if that's a
- 19:17Speaker 1: real segment. But yeah, I take Arkansas plus the four
- 19:22Speaker 1: and a half because we're going to score some points,
- 19:24Speaker 1: and I'd probably go out with the over as well.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Yeah, they do to give up points.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Brandon, what's your favorite team?
- 19:32Speaker 6: My favorite team of all time? Of anything, of anything.
- 19:35Speaker 6: I mean, I grew up a Cowboys fan. Are you
- 19:37Speaker 6: still it's so tough?
- 19:38Speaker 4: I am, but don sounds like you are.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 6: So it is the hardest. It's the hardest team to
- 19:44Speaker 6: be a fan of.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Oh, have you tried Arkansas? I'd like to I'd like
- 19:50Speaker 1: to show I want to show you the menu of
- 19:52Speaker 1: other teams. There's there are Browns fans Arkansas, a little
- 19:57Speaker 1: Jacksonville Jaguar for dessert.
- 20:01Speaker 6: That's a good point. Well, I will say in the
- 20:03Speaker 6: twenty nineteen season, I was like, dude, I don't want
- 20:06Speaker 6: them to win because I want Garrett gone. And then
- 20:09Speaker 6: we got McCarthy and it was just like okay, I mean,
- 20:14Speaker 6: everybody says it as long as Jerry Jones is at
- 20:17Speaker 6: the Helm. It's it's just they're going to get in
- 20:20Speaker 6: their own way every season.
- 20:22Speaker 1: You know what's interesting about that is I agree because
- 20:25Speaker 1: we've seen it over and over again. It's hard to
- 20:26Speaker 1: argue with proven results in that the last twenty years
- 20:30Speaker 1: they haven't won. In the last twenty years, there's been
- 20:32Speaker 1: some some circus time antics. That being said, I have
- 20:36Speaker 1: talked to some people that are extremely elevated in the
- 20:39Speaker 1: NFL and They're like, it is such a well run operation.
- 20:42Speaker 5: I've heard that too.
- 20:43Speaker 1: They make a lot of money, they run it, they
- 20:45Speaker 1: run it wonderfully. It's just personnel.
- 20:48Speaker 5: But even all the players you've talked to, well, go there.
- 20:50Speaker 5: They all they all love Jerry, love playing for him.
- 20:54Speaker 5: So that's a weird part to want to be a Cowboy.
- 20:56Speaker 4: But what's the goal?
- 20:57Speaker 6: I mean, everybody on every other team is like, we
- 21:00Speaker 6: want to win a super Bowl. We want to win
- 21:01Speaker 6: a super Bowl. And it's like, well, if you want
- 21:03Speaker 6: to win a super Bowl, you should have kept Parsons.
- 21:06Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying For this season in particular, Yeah, yeah, games.
- 21:10Speaker 1: That game is going to be interesting this way is
- 21:12Speaker 1: not gonna be fun to watch. That's the kind of
- 21:15Speaker 1: game you win, though, I know, hopefully do what I'm predicting.
- 21:18Speaker 1: The Cowboys and Arkansas win. Hey, it's called a two
- 21:22Speaker 1: game w TF parlay Cowboys and.
- 21:28Speaker 6: Disappointment Bowl.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Will you put those in money line and see what
- 21:32Speaker 1: the odds come back at the w TF parlay picture?
- 21:38Speaker 5: Why not? Who knows?
- 21:40Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboy winner, Arkansas winner.
- 21:43Speaker 5: I'll bet it.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Throw the Bengals in there too.
- 21:46Speaker 5: No, I can't because that's not like our love.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I know.
- 21:49Speaker 5: That's like Eddie just wants them to win.
- 21:52Speaker 4: That's so bad. Dudes. Yeah, that that is stressing me out.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Me too, but probably not as much as you because
- 21:58Speaker 1: that wasn't like the team. You know, we've talked about it.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I wanted the Packers, you one of the Bengals. You
- 22:03Speaker 1: and Kevin are definitely invested. So it was like, let's
- 22:04Speaker 1: go to the Bengals. I don't think it's a terrible pick,
- 22:06Speaker 1: but okay. But I also wasn't like, no to the Bengals.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I really wasn't. I just said, I think it's a
- 22:11Speaker 1: Packers and you're like, I think it's a Bengals. I'm like, cool,
- 22:14Speaker 1: you're investing in this too, We'll go with your pick.
- 22:16Speaker 1: So I wasn't fighting the Bengals.
- 22:18Speaker 4: I know.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Plus nine hundred.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Oh that dude, that's amazing.
- 22:22Speaker 1: That's significant. I'm gonna have to bet that the WTF
- 22:25Speaker 1: bet of the week. Yes, I don't think Draft Kings
- 22:29Speaker 1: will put it up because they want a three gamer
- 22:30Speaker 1: from us. Yeah, I have a three gamer coming up.
- 22:33Speaker 1: We did hit ours last week, but I think for
- 22:35Speaker 1: our show. By the way, don't bet it. Don't bet
- 22:38Speaker 1: what the WTF party the way.
- 22:40Speaker 5: You're gonna lose twice? Do you have two ghost legs
- 22:43Speaker 5: and then you just break even? Aren't a lot of
- 22:46Speaker 5: Arkansas fans also Cowboys fans?
- 22:48Speaker 7: Though?
- 22:48Speaker 5: Yes, so that's good.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Mostly Arkansas fans are Cowboys fans. Regional double one Jerry
- 22:55Speaker 1: Jones two Oh yeah, though Jerry. Not only Jerry who
- 22:59Speaker 1: was on the Arkansas A National championship team for ninety
- 23:01Speaker 1: six to four. Jimmy Johnson Barry Switzer, the two Cowboys
- 23:04Speaker 1: coaches that won Super Bowls were also Arkansas guys.
- 23:09Speaker 5: A lot of ties, A lot of ties.
- 23:11Speaker 1: The Football Center is the Jones Center, the Jones Complex.
- 23:15Speaker 7: Oh is it? Of course?
- 23:18Speaker 4: Donate some money, I's say a lot of money.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, back to it then, Okay, so we're gonna
- 23:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna bet the WTF we have. I'm not rooted
- 23:29Speaker 1: against my team. I want Arkansas to win, and I
- 23:30Speaker 1: think they're probably going to win or play really well.
- 23:33Speaker 6: I really do think that too.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I got a message from Brandon Walker at Barstool, who's
- 23:39Speaker 1: college football savant. I'm gonna read it to you, and
- 23:44Speaker 1: this was unsolicited because he just messaged me last night
- 23:47Speaker 1: kind of late.
- 23:47Speaker 7: Oh.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I can't. I'm not going to get to it because
- 23:49Speaker 1: I got so many pregnancy messages.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Oh, you won't be able to find it.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Okay, I got it.
- 23:54Speaker 6: Wait, what what happened?
- 23:55Speaker 4: Who's?
- 23:56Speaker 7: Oh?
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah you haven't heard.
- 23:58Speaker 6: No, who's is somebody?
- 24:00Speaker 1: Eddie just adopted two kids?
- 24:02Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 24:02Speaker 6: Man, not again?
- 24:03Speaker 7: No?
- 24:03Speaker 5: No's he's up four now it's delayed news.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Wow, congrats man.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Brandon said, I think you'll be Notre Dame Saturday. You
- 24:10Speaker 1: have a great quarterback. They have a bad defense. You're
- 24:13Speaker 1: fighting for Pittman's job and he's like he'll be fired
- 24:16Speaker 1: by November. But this is a sneaky, wannable game.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I think so too. Yeah, and the line keeps moving
- 24:21Speaker 1: that direction.
- 24:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:23Speaker 1: If Notre Dame loses, let's remove Arkansas from this. If
- 24:25Speaker 1: Notre Dame loses, what a disaster it is for them.
- 24:27Speaker 5: They're out. That's three losses.
- 24:28Speaker 4: They've got to be done.
- 24:30Speaker 1: They're out. They can't even climb back in. And they're
- 24:31Speaker 1: the one team that can climb back in because they're independent,
- 24:33Speaker 1: because they're not in a tier system in a conference.
- 24:37Speaker 1: So all right, we'll move on from that. I feel
- 24:39Speaker 1: bad for Gundy at Oklahoma State. I think it was
- 24:42Speaker 1: time because he did not modify how he coaches. I'm
- 24:47Speaker 1: not talking about on the field. I'm talking about with personnel,
- 24:51Speaker 1: the portal in il until it was too late, the gatorade,
- 24:55Speaker 1: the gatorade, I.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Don't know you're talking about.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Do you mean, oh, oh, this is this is the
- 25:00Speaker 1: coach that definitely called coach? He probably called it few
- 25:03Speaker 1: people Vagina one years of coaching, Yes, Manali Gordon got
- 25:08Speaker 1: in trouble for I think it do UI And he
- 25:10Speaker 1: was like, oh, yeah, who isn't driven drunk? I drunk
- 25:12Speaker 1: all the time that.
- 25:15Speaker 5: It was something like that. It was last year. Yeah.
- 25:19Speaker 4: Uh.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I feel bad for Gundy because I think it's twenty
- 25:22Speaker 1: one years between being a player, an assistant coach and
- 25:25Speaker 1: head coach because he was a quarterback at Oklahoma State,
- 25:27Speaker 1: like he gave his whole life to that school. I
- 25:30Speaker 1: do think it was time for them to move on.
- 25:32Speaker 1: And what I read was they offered him the ability
- 25:34Speaker 1: to finish out the season and then announce his retirement,
- 25:37Speaker 1: and he was like, f that you would. He's like,
- 25:40Speaker 1: I'm not doing that.
- 25:41Speaker 5: That seems like his style.
- 25:42Speaker 1: So yeah, rest in peace, coach Gundy. I think he'll
- 25:46Speaker 1: coach again somewhere else. But it's weird to see him
- 25:49Speaker 1: anywhere else because I only know him as Oklahoma State's guy.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I only know him as I'm a man, I'm forty.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I only know him as the mullet. I only know
- 25:56Speaker 1: him as the guy that has quarterbacked assistant. Was he
- 26:02Speaker 1: was he the coordinator, was off at the corner, or
- 26:04Speaker 1: he was the cordiner. It's a specialty offensive defense. I
- 26:07Speaker 1: don't know. And then head coach. So you ever get
- 26:10Speaker 1: fired fire from a.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Job, I've never been fired fired. I almost got fired,
- 26:15Speaker 4: like where the point to the point where somebody had
- 26:16Speaker 4: to cover for me to keep my job. I was
- 26:20Speaker 4: kind of like the last it was working news, and
- 26:22Speaker 4: it was the last straw, Like it's like three strikes
- 26:24Speaker 4: are out basically, and this is like anything. I had
- 26:26Speaker 4: wrecked a vehicle. I had maybe been late like five times,
- 26:32Speaker 4: and then I broke a camera and it was all
- 26:36Speaker 4: on me. But the reporter said like, no, I did it,
- 26:39Speaker 4: and I was like that is amazing. So I kept
- 26:41Speaker 4: my job.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Those cameras pretty expensive.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, dude, forty thousand dollars cameras.
- 26:44Speaker 1: How'd you break it?
- 26:46Speaker 4: So I was doing a live shot and you have
- 26:48Speaker 4: to connect it to a wire to like a cable
- 26:49Speaker 4: to the truck, and I had reeled in the cable
- 26:52Speaker 4: in not knowing it was still connected to the camera, and.
- 26:54Speaker 5: It pulled the camera.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Oh wait, dude, shattered, shattered the.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Whole camera slow fall.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Yeah, and then so you see it. I felt the tugue.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I'm like, why is that stuck on something? It was
- 27:05Speaker 4: stuck on the camera.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Boh.
- 27:07Speaker 4: And then I get back to the station and the
- 27:10Speaker 4: news director is like, all right, we got to talk.
- 27:12Speaker 4: And then the reporter said no, no, no, we got to talk.
- 27:15Speaker 4: I did it. I was helping him with the deal
- 27:18Speaker 4: and like it broke. Who's just one more reporters?
- 27:22Speaker 1: Man, you don't want to say nope, man, why that's
- 27:26Speaker 1: like a positive.
- 27:27Speaker 4: It was awesome. It was awesome, but like, yeah, definitely
- 27:30Speaker 4: should not have done that, and they did and I
- 27:32Speaker 4: kept my job because of it. But I've never I've
- 27:33Speaker 4: been laid off before, but never gotten fired fired like that.
- 27:36Speaker 1: You rowe that reporter, Yeah, yeah, didn't you want to
- 27:39Speaker 1: shout him out?
- 27:39Speaker 5: I know, all right, man, Kevin, Yeah, I've never been fired.
- 27:44Speaker 5: I've gotten for a load. That's the closest thing to it.
- 27:46Speaker 5: During COVID ninety days. But that's it.
- 27:50Speaker 1: They were fired from this job.
- 27:52Speaker 5: No before I moved here California for Fox Sports Radio.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Are you here for COVID? I thought you were.
- 27:57Speaker 7: No.
- 27:57Speaker 5: I got here in twenty one.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Know what your COVID was. I remember Kevin when he
- 28:01Speaker 1: was interviewing, because he just interviewed to basically edit the countdown.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Not even the count just like show stuff radio, show stuff. Yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 5: I don't remember now.
- 28:10Speaker 1: And this guy shows up all these tattoos, and I'm like,
- 28:13Speaker 1: he sits office. I'm like, I don't know whatever. We
- 28:15Speaker 1: need a warm body. Yeah yeah, it's just like a
- 28:17Speaker 1: low level entry job.
- 28:19Speaker 4: I remember checking out his Instagram and it was a
- 28:20Speaker 4: picture of him, like a picture in the in the
- 28:23Speaker 4: mirror with like a suit on, and be like, I
- 28:25Speaker 4: got this today.
- 28:26Speaker 5: You're right, we all get way. Let's do you when
- 28:29Speaker 5: we get older? For sure? Oh yeah. I was still like,
- 28:31Speaker 5: I don't know twenty seven that picture. Oh yeah, I
- 28:35Speaker 5: know what you're talking about.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Look good, Huh you still had a little tattoo California,
- 28:38Speaker 1: douchebag in you?
- 28:38Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, it's not anymore right, guys.
- 28:40Speaker 4: No, man, you're all Boston at all Tennessee guy, No,
- 28:45Speaker 4: you really don't good.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Thanks a lot of reasons, just general maturation has yeah too,
- 28:51Speaker 1: But I did not think you would be as dependable
- 28:54Speaker 1: as you are. You didn't really like a dependable person.
- 28:57Speaker 4: The tattoos, wow, all of it.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the tatto to the haircut, the you know it
- 29:03Speaker 1: was from California. You're like, okay, this guy, we can
- 29:07Speaker 1: use a warm body until he quits or gets fired.
- 29:09Speaker 5: I was gonna say, how long do you think? I like,
- 29:11Speaker 5: in your mind? Did you do you remember if you
- 29:12Speaker 5: were like, oh, he'll last six months or whatever.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I kind of didn't care because it wasn't a position
- 29:16Speaker 1: that I felt like I needed to worry about that
- 29:19Speaker 1: you came in for. It was very much an entry
- 29:20Speaker 1: level position. It was, Yeah, and he moved up so
- 29:22Speaker 1: quick because he showed up on time, got everything done.
- 29:25Speaker 1: It was like, what else do you need? And so
- 29:27Speaker 1: now Kevin's like very much integral to everything that I
- 29:29Speaker 1: do in so many ways. So he's like one of
- 29:32Speaker 1: the guys for sure who I depend on. By the time,
- 29:34Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, end today, gone tomorrow.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Did he come recommended or like, did you No?
- 29:39Speaker 5: I did. I didn't even he didn't.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I cared so little about that position that he just
- 29:43Speaker 1: showed up and somebody was interviewing over for something. I
- 29:45Speaker 1: was like, I don't care, but I'm happy to say
- 29:46Speaker 1: hi to whoever it is. You know me, It's like
- 29:48Speaker 1: I have any time when I'm up here. Everything is
- 29:50Speaker 1: back to back to back to back to back. And
- 29:52Speaker 1: so I was in my office, which I'm not much,
- 29:55Speaker 1: and they're like, hey, this is Kevin. He's yeah, yeah,
- 29:57Speaker 1: I come in. Hey man, where are you from? I
- 29:59Speaker 1: did sports there?
- 30:00Speaker 7: A right?
- 30:00Speaker 5: Good luck to you. Never thought I see him again? Yeah,
- 30:02Speaker 5: that was it. It really was with Rod too, And
- 30:04Speaker 5: you're like, all right, what else? I'm like, I don't know, Scuba,
- 30:06Speaker 5: where are you at?
- 30:07Speaker 4: Come kidding me?
- 30:08Speaker 7: Here?
- 30:08Speaker 1: He is here.
- 30:09Speaker 5: We are sure years later, four and a half years later.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Just show you those man. If you just get in, yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 1: that's it. Get in and people are so I'll say,
- 30:23Speaker 1: they're just people in general that you hire are not dependable.
- 30:26Speaker 1: So if you get in and show you're dependable and
- 30:28Speaker 1: you have consistent effort, the world is a freaking oyster.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Just in life.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Like you could do anything you want to do by
- 30:35Speaker 1: showing up expressing your goals and just doing it because
- 30:40Speaker 1: people are not dependable. And here he is, Kevin now
- 30:43Speaker 1: a millionaire.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Look at him, keV.
- 30:47Speaker 1: He is a likable person, like, yes, but you don't
- 30:49Speaker 1: like him by looking at him now when you first
- 30:51Speaker 1: met him, I wanted to not like all covered in
- 30:53Speaker 1: tats with California haircut.
- 30:55Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, I got that vibe from a few
- 30:58Speaker 5: people here for sure. Yeah. Here it was kind of
- 31:01Speaker 5: a douchebag vibe.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yeah, not anything you were doing extra right, But it's
- 31:04Speaker 1: just like here, people didn't act you other like a
- 31:08Speaker 1: chain on your tight t shirts, gel in your hair.
- 31:13Speaker 5: I didn't, No, I don't have enough.
- 31:14Speaker 7: I didn't.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Yeah I had some hair, I guess forst couple of years. Huh,
- 31:18Speaker 5: for sure.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, and you were really ripped.
- 31:20Speaker 5: Not that you aren't anymore, just rip let's be honest
- 31:23Speaker 5: you Yeah. Now it's I don't have the time to
- 31:25Speaker 5: just go work out whenever I want all that You.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Can be a douchebag and not be That also happens
- 31:30Speaker 1: here too. You can actually break out of that shell.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Yes you can.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Why'd you move here?
- 31:35Speaker 5: I just needed to get out of California. I wanted
- 31:37Speaker 5: to leave there. I wanted to be able to.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Look like you run from the law. Dude. It's like,
- 31:41Speaker 1: I don't want to ask any more questions because you.
- 31:44Speaker 5: Got you know, the judge was like, you gotta get
- 31:45Speaker 5: out of here. So it's like, all right, I'm out. No,
- 31:47Speaker 5: I don't know. I wanted to buy a house, be
- 31:50Speaker 5: able to buy a house at an affordable rate, which
- 31:52Speaker 5: I've done since then, which is great. I wanted to
- 31:55Speaker 5: meet a wife, which I've done has been great, started family,
- 31:58Speaker 5: all that good stuff, and just of like a more
- 32:01Speaker 5: fulfilled life, and honestly, I have more than I could
- 32:04Speaker 5: have ever imagined.
- 32:05Speaker 4: You couldn't have done that in California.
- 32:06Speaker 5: I understand the price of the house, but I just
- 32:08Speaker 5: feel like I was stuck there mentally, and I was
- 32:11Speaker 5: just in a rotation of just like the same old
- 32:13Speaker 5: thing with the same old people, and I wasn't going
- 32:15Speaker 5: to get to where I wanted to get. And I
- 32:17Speaker 5: gave myself a year in Nashville three hundred and six
- 32:19Speaker 5: five days. If I didn't like it, I was going
- 32:20Speaker 5: to maybe move back and move somewhere else. Here we
- 32:22Speaker 5: are four andy a half years later.
- 32:24Speaker 1: It was that tough rotation of perfect weather, beach and
- 32:26Speaker 1: women everywhere hard.
- 32:29Speaker 5: It was so hard for him. But I had to
- 32:31Speaker 5: get away from that guy too much. Thirty years of
- 32:34Speaker 5: that was just too much.
- 32:35Speaker 4: At any point, did you want to go to Boston?
- 32:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't think. I did think about that, but
- 32:40Speaker 5: the Winters man, it's too brutal.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Why'd you come that all places?
- 32:44Speaker 5: I had like a handful of friends here. I had
- 32:47Speaker 5: a good friend that I moved in with here, so
- 32:49Speaker 5: that made it easy too. And it just seemed like
- 32:52Speaker 5: I visited one time and I was like, yeah, I'll
- 32:53Speaker 5: give Nashville shot.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and here we are nothing tiny down back there
- 32:58Speaker 1: no ready to get out of the cycle of each
- 33:00Speaker 1: women and good weather.
- 33:02Speaker 6: Oh yeah, the worst. Uh.

- 35:51Speaker 1: We're gonna talk now to Texas Tech head football coach
- 35:54Speaker 1: Joey McGuire. The Red Raiders are ranked twelfth in the
- 35:58Speaker 1: new poll after beating Utah thirty four ten on the
- 36:00Speaker 1: road last week. Everybody's talking about Texas Tech. They're dominating.
- 36:05Speaker 1: They do the portal right because they have money. I
- 36:07Speaker 1: wish we had the money that they had.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Oil for us for Oh, that'd be great.
- 36:12Speaker 1: We just buy players, come here and watch them do
- 36:13Speaker 1: football one on one right in the middle. Yes, they're
- 36:17Speaker 1: on a bye week, but they play Houston next week.
- 36:19Speaker 1: They have a pretty favorable schedule the rest of the year,
- 36:21Speaker 1: which is good. They still got a couple of tough
- 36:23Speaker 1: games in there, but the schedule gods have been nice
- 36:25Speaker 1: to them for the rest of the year. But they
- 36:26Speaker 1: pounded Utah. The game was close at first, they pounded Utah.
- 36:30Speaker 1: So it's not like you're gonna second guess anything, even
- 36:33Speaker 1: with a weaker ish schedule. The fact that they whooped
- 36:36Speaker 1: uah like that and if you talk, he's winning. I
- 36:38Speaker 1: think that's a big enough win for people to know
- 36:40Speaker 1: they're legit. Big thanks to coach for coming on here.
- 36:42Speaker 1: He is Coach Joey McGuire. Let us welcome one of
- 36:46Speaker 1: my favorite coaches. He's now the hunter. The hunted has
- 36:50Speaker 1: turned into the hunter. Coach McGuire's.
- 36:55Speaker 7: And what's up, brother, So good to see you and
- 36:58Speaker 7: be on the show. I appreciate it.
- 37:00Speaker 5: And it's good to see you too.
- 37:01Speaker 1: As watching that game last week, Uh were you a
- 37:04Speaker 1: little tight when the backup quarterback had to go in?
- 37:06Speaker 4: Coach?
- 37:07Speaker 7: I have total faith and we'll hand it. But uh
- 37:09Speaker 7: that that was a crazy game. You know, you go
- 37:11Speaker 7: through different games and I'm always pretty exhausted, but I
- 37:17Speaker 7: was exhausted my next shoulders and everywhere else you could
- 37:21Speaker 7: carry Titch and I always carrying a lot of attention
- 37:23Speaker 7: through that game.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Man, what a performance like second half, And again I
- 37:26Speaker 1: was watching a lot of it because that was just
- 37:28Speaker 1: a big national game.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 37:29Speaker 1: What's really cool is that a lot of the big
- 37:31Speaker 1: national games, like you guys are are that conversation now?
- 37:35Speaker 5: So I was interested. I want to see what Utah had.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I want to see what Texas Tech had against you know,
- 37:39Speaker 1: two good teams. Second half, you guys kind of had it.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Like where what was it about the second half? Was
- 37:44Speaker 1: it you guys schemed differently at halftime? Was it you
- 37:47Speaker 1: guys are in better shape? What do you think?
- 37:49Speaker 7: I think it was a mixture. You know. We we
- 37:52Speaker 7: had two opportunities in the first half to kind of
- 37:56Speaker 7: make some big plays, one for a touchdown to kind
- 37:58Speaker 7: of increase our lead, and you know, we threw a
- 38:01Speaker 7: couple of interceptions, and then we had less felities in
- 38:05Speaker 7: the second half. I mean, we ended up with fourteenth
- 38:08Speaker 7: in these eight procedure penalties. That place was a really
- 38:11Speaker 7: loud environment, and we kind of got out of our
- 38:14Speaker 7: own way more in the second half. There were there
- 38:17Speaker 7: were times as we could have opened it up first half,
- 38:20Speaker 7: we just didn't do it, you know, and that's a
- 38:22Speaker 7: learning experience, which is gonna be good and gonna help
- 38:25Speaker 7: us down the line.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Kind Of a weird question, but that Utah Football Stadium
- 38:28Speaker 1: is pretty awesome, right man.
- 38:30Speaker 7: It is like both Utah and VYU I mean, because
- 38:33Speaker 7: the settings behind the stadiums, You've got the mountains, so
- 38:36Speaker 7: it's beautiful that Utah Stadium. They're really built. It's built
- 38:40Speaker 7: where like the crowd is on top of youth. And
- 38:43Speaker 7: then that's the first time I've been there. I heard
- 38:46Speaker 7: a lot of great things about it. But their students
- 38:48Speaker 7: section is is pretty day mild.
- 38:51Speaker 1: So what's different about this year? Like, how does it
- 38:53Speaker 1: feel different? Because you guys, you have the roster you're executing,
- 38:59Speaker 1: do you feel a bit more like people have you
- 39:01Speaker 1: dialed in now?
- 39:02Speaker 5: With the bulls eye on your back.
- 39:03Speaker 7: There's a lot of things that we use that we
- 39:06Speaker 7: know are being said about us, you know, and so
- 39:09Speaker 7: I try to use it, not oprah use it, but
- 39:12Speaker 7: use it to where we can push some buttons. But
- 39:14Speaker 7: you know, one thing we could talk about and my
- 39:18Speaker 7: messaging has been the same for four years, don't We
- 39:20Speaker 7: don't debating a lot from who we are. And one
- 39:23Speaker 7: of the messages is if we're the best version of ourselves,
- 39:27Speaker 7: then we have a chance every single week. And that
- 39:30Speaker 7: that's the thing with this team. They really get that.
- 39:33Speaker 7: They really you know, like we're going into one game
- 39:37Speaker 7: against Oregon State and I was kind of messing with
- 39:39Speaker 7: one of my corners, Brice Pollock, and Oregon State's got
- 39:43Speaker 7: a really good receiver, and I said, hey, man, are
- 39:45Speaker 7: you ready for this matchup? He looked at that and
- 39:47Speaker 7: he goes, Coach, I have to cover Caleb Douglas and
- 39:50Speaker 7: Reggie Virgil every day. You honestly think that guy's better
- 39:54Speaker 7: than those two And it kind of hit me in
- 39:57Speaker 7: the face. Life. Man, he's right. I mean, these guys
- 40:00Speaker 7: understand how good they are and how they play off
- 40:03Speaker 7: of each other. So that's making a big difference.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Where on the priority list is it for you to
- 40:08Speaker 1: make sure you guys have maybe an advantage or are
- 40:12Speaker 1: just ready to take a shot at the NFL.
- 40:14Speaker 7: It's high, you know, we talk about it all the time.
- 40:17Speaker 7: You know, number one, you're coming here to get a
- 40:19Speaker 7: great education, and one B, you're preparing yourself could be
- 40:24Speaker 7: a pro. Now we talk about being a pro like
- 40:26Speaker 7: being a great dad, being a great husband, you know,
- 40:29Speaker 7: I mean, you're a pro at what you do. But
- 40:32Speaker 7: these guys that we have on this team, there's a
- 40:35Speaker 7: lot of them that have the ability and athletic and
- 40:39Speaker 7: mindset to be in the NFL. So we want to
- 40:41Speaker 7: make sure we're preparing them for that. You walk into
- 40:45Speaker 7: our team meetings, everybody's going to have a notebook, everybody's
- 40:48Speaker 7: taking notes, everybody's locked in, and teach them how to
- 40:50Speaker 7: watch film, watch an extra film. One of my big
- 40:54Speaker 7: deals that I talk about, excuse me, every single day,
- 40:58Speaker 7: it's taking care of your body. Because you and I
- 41:01Speaker 7: both know there's a lot of guys in the NFL
- 41:03Speaker 7: that are still in the NFL because they can stay healthy.
- 41:06Speaker 7: And there's a lot of guys that have been cut
- 41:09Speaker 7: over the history of the NFL because they can't stay healthy.
- 41:12Speaker 7: And they might be better than one guy, but they
- 41:14Speaker 7: just can't stay helpy. So we we spend a lot
- 41:16Speaker 7: of time with that.
- 41:17Speaker 5: What do you guys do during an off week?
- 41:19Speaker 1: You get a bye week this week, do you go
- 41:21Speaker 1: back to the basics or you give them a little
- 41:22Speaker 1: time off or what?
- 41:23Speaker 7: Yeah, So we practiced the young guys on Monday, just
- 41:27Speaker 7: at a you know, scrimmage if anybody just did not
- 41:29Speaker 7: play in the game practice, and then Tuesday and Wisday
- 41:33Speaker 7: were the exact same from the standpoint through everybody practice,
- 41:37Speaker 7: you knowing that was the basics, that was the individual
- 41:40Speaker 7: and some stemma on seven stuff and just trying to,
- 41:43Speaker 7: you know, get back to the things, like any red
- 41:47Speaker 7: flags over the first four weeks, who want to address?
- 41:50Speaker 7: Then I give the On Tuesday, Wisday, the old guys
- 41:53Speaker 7: the bets go run with the street staff and the
- 41:56Speaker 7: young guys have like a twenty play scrimmage and then
- 41:59Speaker 7: the day they had a heavy lift and then they're off.
- 42:02Speaker 7: So they've got they still got class today and everything
- 42:06Speaker 7: like that. But they'll be able to get out here
- 42:07Speaker 7: for a couple of days or they'll you know, hang
- 42:10Speaker 7: in town. I got a big group going hunting if
- 42:13Speaker 7: Barry Morton or quarterback about two or hours away, and
- 42:18Speaker 7: then we're back at it on Sunday. But we needed
- 42:21Speaker 7: you know, I mean, I know this is an early buye,
- 42:23Speaker 7: but whenever you're in college football, you spent a month
- 42:27Speaker 7: hitting each other in camp and then you just spent
- 42:29Speaker 7: full weeks playing games. It was good to have a
- 42:31Speaker 7: buy back.
- 42:32Speaker 1: In high school and we had a bye week, we'd
- 42:33Speaker 1: wear jerseys and go to the next team we were playing,
- 42:36Speaker 1: like sitting the bleachers. You guys don't want to go
- 42:38Speaker 1: sit in the Houston bleachers, but you get ready for
- 42:41Speaker 1: that game.
- 42:41Speaker 7: Man. We might but then I would get in trouble
- 42:44Speaker 7: like Michigan did a couple of years ago for Advance,
- 42:47Speaker 7: And so I don't want to do it unless it's
- 42:50Speaker 7: gonna give me a national championship, and then you know
- 42:53Speaker 7: who knows what you do for that?
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Do you get any time off during a bye week?
- 42:58Speaker 1: That's different?
- 42:58Speaker 7: Will you take a little time yourself Saturday? You know,
- 43:01Speaker 7: like I'm going to recruit. Most of my coaches left
- 43:04Speaker 7: last night to recruit today and tomorrow. I'll I'll go
- 43:08Speaker 7: recruit tomorrow and then I'll get home pretty late Friday
- 43:12Speaker 7: night and literally I will sit on my back porch
- 43:16Speaker 7: and in the morning dreat coffee and probably in the
- 43:19Speaker 7: afternoon smoke a cigar and watch football all day long.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Are you all football all the time, even when it's
- 43:24Speaker 1: not your football?
- 43:25Speaker 7: Yeah? I love it. I meat up with it, you know,
- 43:28Speaker 7: especially college football. I love watching It's just the pageantry
- 43:32Speaker 7: and and you know, it's it's almost like a movie
- 43:35Speaker 7: at different stadiums, and you know, it's I'm heat up
- 43:40Speaker 7: with it. You know. I'll watch a little bit of
- 43:41Speaker 7: PROS pro wise, I'm trying to watch our guys anybody's playing,
- 43:46Speaker 7: you know, I'll tune in and watch a couple of
- 43:48Speaker 7: you know, we'll have it in the background while I'm
- 43:50Speaker 7: watching Feeling. But yeah, I don't have a lot of hobbies.
- 43:53Speaker 7: You know, it's hanging out with my dog and my
- 43:55Speaker 7: wife and watch football.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Is it different every year what the players do as leaders?
- 44:00Speaker 1: You have some years where you just trust your captains
- 44:03Speaker 1: to actually have meetings with the team, and some maybe
- 44:05Speaker 1: your captains aren't as established. Is it based on you know,
- 44:08Speaker 1: who the captains are every year?
- 44:10Speaker 7: One hundred percent? You know, we, uh, we've got a
- 44:12Speaker 7: really strong group. Three of my captains are back. We
- 44:16Speaker 7: had five captains last year. Three of them returned Baron Morton,
- 44:20Speaker 7: Jacob Rodriguez, and Broch Fromirez. But one thing that we
- 44:24Speaker 7: did there were some really strong alpha males that came
- 44:29Speaker 7: in and they had big voices. They had been captains
- 44:33Speaker 7: at their previous spools, and so we wanted to make
- 44:36Speaker 7: sure they had a voice. And so like a guy
- 44:38Speaker 7: like Scout Skylar, Gil Howard has been huge for us.
- 44:41Speaker 7: And so this is a player led team. You know,
- 44:45Speaker 7: I can send out one text to my leadership group.
- 44:48Speaker 7: Whatever that text says, it's gonna get taken care out.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Do you have now that that the portal has been
- 44:53Speaker 1: functioning for a few years now. Uh, at a high level,
- 44:56Speaker 1: do you have like a like a time when when
- 44:59Speaker 1: new guys to feel part of the team. Is it
- 45:01Speaker 1: three or four weeks in? Is it like a couple
- 45:03Speaker 1: weeks into the season. Is there like a time when
- 45:05Speaker 1: you expect everybody to kind of have jilled?
- 45:07Speaker 7: Yeah? You know, we did the majority, almost all of
- 45:11Speaker 7: it in January last year on purpose. We wanted to
- 45:14Speaker 7: be able to spend the whole off season bring these
- 45:18Speaker 7: guys together. But this is a really cool story. So
- 45:21Speaker 7: I've got a receiver, Hayden Readington. He's a country music artist.
- 45:25Speaker 7: He's got a couple of albums out and he's really good.
- 45:28Speaker 7: I mean, as soon as the season's over in January,
- 45:32Speaker 7: he's gonna move to Nashville. He's very talented. And he
- 45:37Speaker 7: was opening up for Random World Key in Love With
- 45:40Speaker 7: and a bunch of my guys went out there. And
- 45:42Speaker 7: I've known Haby since he was four, So I went
- 45:45Speaker 7: out there to listen to my wife and I'll good
- 45:47Speaker 7: and I see the guys and they've been around each
- 45:49Speaker 7: other for about three and a half weeks. And one
- 45:52Speaker 7: of his songs he started playing Talk Funny and they're
- 45:55Speaker 7: singing along with it. And these are new guys, these
- 45:58Speaker 7: are transfers, and I'm like, man, and that says a
- 46:01Speaker 7: lot about them that they already have gotten so close
- 46:04Speaker 7: that they're singing one of his songs. And really, at
- 46:08Speaker 7: that point that night, I went home and I said, Hey, Debbie,
- 46:11Speaker 7: we got something special here. This is not a normal
- 46:14Speaker 7: ill that guys already or lis closed.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Whenever you start the season, what do you set the
- 46:19Speaker 1: goals as? Is it to win the conference? Is it
- 46:22Speaker 1: to CFP? Like, what do you say to the guys?
- 46:25Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, I'm gonna start with coach speak and
- 46:27Speaker 7: say we want to go one to know you know
- 46:29Speaker 7: which we do? We right now, I'm coming to our
- 46:31Speaker 7: building says one and oh, and it has us because
- 46:34Speaker 7: it's a Bibley. Next week it's gonna go one and
- 46:36Speaker 7: oh and it's gonna have Houston logo and crossed out.
- 46:40Speaker 7: But we want to win the Big twelve. You know,
- 46:43Speaker 7: a long time ago, a coach told me, you know,
- 46:46Speaker 7: you've you've got to put days in front of these
- 46:49Speaker 7: guys that they got to understand it's not just to
- 46:52Speaker 7: you know, at the time in Icebroy it wasn't just
- 46:54Speaker 7: to get in the playoff. It was to win the
- 46:56Speaker 7: district championship, you know, And so we talk about what
- 47:01Speaker 7: we need to do to win the Big twelve, you know,
- 47:03Speaker 7: to get to Arlington. And then once you get into
- 47:06Speaker 7: that game, take your business. You're gonna be in playoffs
- 47:09Speaker 7: and you you know, refocuses are working on that, but
- 47:12Speaker 7: it's it's to win the Big twelve.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Coach. I got a lot of helmets up here from
- 47:16Speaker 1: coaches to just send them up. There ain't a Texas
- 47:18Speaker 1: Tech helmet up here. Ain't you known?
- 47:21Speaker 5: You're my guy.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I'd love to have one, you know, And coach Loipol
- 47:25Speaker 1: sent one.
- 47:25Speaker 7: Send me the address. Get your guys to send me
- 47:28Speaker 7: the address, and I will get one sent out today.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Love it because like when I if I were like
- 47:32Speaker 1: ranking top five people, I like, you're in it.
- 47:34Speaker 5: Coach, You're in it, so go as we go.
- 47:38Speaker 7: I love it.
- 47:38Speaker 5: Yeah, congratulations so far.
- 47:40Speaker 4: I hope.
- 47:40Speaker 5: I hope you stay healthy.
- 47:42Speaker 1: And even when you did in the last game, like
- 47:44Speaker 1: you had to get next one up and it was
- 47:45Speaker 1: pretty awesome to see u.
- 47:47Speaker 5: I'm rooting for you, guys. Coach. Congratulations so far. I
- 47:49Speaker 5: hope you guys, have a great rest of the year.
- 47:50Speaker 7: Thank you, brother, send me that address.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I'll get you a helmet, Yes, sir, Thanks Coach, talk

- 49:24Speaker 1: All right, looking at games this weekend, it's kind of
- 49:27Speaker 1: a bad NFL slate if there's such thing, so we
- 49:31Speaker 1: can quickly go through them. At Seahawks and Cardinals, I'm
- 49:34Speaker 1: not that interested in that game. It's I don't know,
- 49:38Speaker 1: it's fine. It's so West Coast by this Thursday night.
- 49:42Speaker 1: That's Thursday night, Sunday Vikings at Steelers. The Vikings are
- 49:47Speaker 1: to a half point favorite.
- 49:48Speaker 5: Only cool thing is that's in Dublin, Oh, first game
- 49:52Speaker 5: in Doublin.
- 49:53Speaker 1: It's eight o'clock game eight am. I can't believe the
- 49:56Speaker 1: Vikings are the favorite. I know, I saw a JJ
- 49:59Speaker 1: McCarthy's still out another because see I think he's going
- 50:01Speaker 1: to be with the team but not playing, but he's
- 50:04Speaker 1: going to rehab over. I would just stay home. Yeah,
- 50:06Speaker 1: and you got a new kid.
- 50:07Speaker 4: Maybe he's never been to Ireland.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Maybe I think you can afford it though. Probably Panthers
- 50:13Speaker 1: at Patriots.
- 50:14Speaker 5: You, Bobby, let's go big, no.
- 50:16Speaker 1: I you know, I'm a big, keep pounding guy, but
- 50:18Speaker 1: we have our money on our team. Commanders at Falcons, Like,
- 50:23Speaker 1: I kind of don't care. Commanders are point a half favorite,
- 50:27Speaker 1: but I kind of don't care about that game. Saints
- 50:29Speaker 1: at Bills again terrible game. Bills are fifty and a
- 50:33Speaker 1: half point favorite. Browns at Lions. I mean, the interesting
- 50:37Speaker 1: thing of this is that are the Browns maybe not
- 50:39Speaker 1: as terrible as we thought, but also not a great game.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Lions a nine and a half point favorite. Chargers at Giants.
- 50:45Speaker 1: The only thing interesting about this game is Jackson Dartist starting. Yeah,
- 50:49Speaker 1: because the Chargers are really good, but not a terribly
- 50:52Speaker 1: interesting game. Here's one of the two games. Eagles at Bucks,
- 51:00Speaker 1: two undefeated teams that could be good. The Eagles probably
- 51:04Speaker 1: win this game because I think the Eagles are the
- 51:06Speaker 1: better team and how many times can you beg Baker
- 51:08Speaker 1: Mayfield to save the game for you? You might do
- 51:11Speaker 1: it again, though, But that's in that Okay, this is
- 51:15Speaker 1: a good game tier. I'd like to see the Bucks win.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Eagles three and a half point favorite. Titans at Texans,
- 51:22Speaker 1: What the heck is that winless? B oh terrible enough?
- 51:27Speaker 1: Jaguars are forty nine ers, Niners haven't lost, but who cares?
- 51:32Speaker 5: Like Jones quarterback?
- 51:35Speaker 1: Have the Jaguars lost?
- 51:37Speaker 5: Bengals won?
- 51:38Speaker 7: Right?
- 51:38Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:39Speaker 1: Bears at Raiders who cares? Colts at Rams is one
- 51:42Speaker 1: of those interesting games because the Colts three and zero,
- 51:47Speaker 1: who would have thought? Are probably pretty good? The Rams
- 51:50Speaker 1: because they lost that game to the Eagles does not
- 51:51Speaker 1: mean they're a bad team. I think the Rams are
- 51:52Speaker 1: really good.
- 51:53Speaker 5: They're good.
- 51:53Speaker 6: Yeah, they're good.
- 51:54Speaker 1: So that's in that tier of Hey, how about that
- 51:57Speaker 1: Packers at Cowboys. If it weren't for the general knowledge
- 52:02Speaker 1: of Eddie Love and the Cowboys Randon too. If we
- 52:04Speaker 1: didn't just know that, we probably wouldn't care that much.
- 52:05Speaker 1: And also our WTF game of the week, right, Marquee
- 52:11Speaker 1: Monday Night Jets of Dolphins terrible awful and Bengals and Browns.
- 52:16Speaker 4: Did you forget Ravens.
- 52:17Speaker 5: Chiefs, Broncos, Bengals and Broncos.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Oh, Bengals and Broncos.
- 52:21Speaker 4: Thank you who? Ravens Chiefs?
- 52:23Speaker 1: All right, it's not on my list. That is a game.
- 52:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Ravens at at Chiefs.
- 52:28Speaker 1: They don't have on my list, So I guess I'm
- 52:29Speaker 1: not playing it.
- 52:30Speaker 5: It's just dan. If it didn't print, there we go.
- 52:32Speaker 5: They don't play.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, that is a that's a good game because
- 52:35Speaker 1: they're both one and two. I don't have it on
- 52:36Speaker 1: my sheet, but they're both one and two. One of
- 52:38Speaker 1: those teams are gonna be one and three, and let's
- 52:39Speaker 1: be honest, it's probably gonna be the Chiefs.
- 52:41Speaker 4: Oh, I hope not.
- 52:42Speaker 1: It probably is.
- 52:43Speaker 3: Dude.
- 52:44Speaker 4: I felt so bad for Derrick Henry, like he looked
- 52:46Speaker 4: like he just wanted to Yeah, I want to get away.
- 52:49Speaker 4: It's like you wanted to go anywhere.
- 52:51Speaker 1: But there after the fumble.
- 52:52Speaker 4: Yes, two of them, two games, it's.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Like he plays for Roarkansas.
- 52:59Speaker 4: Man. Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 1: So not the best slate of NFL games. No, there's
- 53:03Speaker 1: a couple we got our parlay.
- 53:05Speaker 4: We're good.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Let's see anything else. What about tipping at casino tables?
- 53:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I just want to ask you guys, like,
- 53:13Speaker 4: what's what's the point in tipping the dealer at a
- 53:17Speaker 4: casino table? Because I don't I don't do it, but
- 53:20Speaker 4: I saw people do it, so I kind of felt
- 53:22Speaker 4: whenever I had like a win where I won like
- 53:25Speaker 4: more than fifty dollars, I guess I throw them like
- 53:27Speaker 4: a couple of bucks. Like, what's the point though.
- 53:30Speaker 5: What do you think the point is? And I can
- 53:31Speaker 5: tell you what I think the point is.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Maybe just to help the vibe, Like you give them money,
- 53:36Speaker 4: they're happier because you're not changing your luck by giving
- 53:39Speaker 4: them a couple of dollars.
- 53:40Speaker 1: I think you said something though, you don't change luck anyway,
- 53:44Speaker 1: like you never changed luck.
- 53:45Speaker 4: No, right, it is what it is, and it's not
- 53:47Speaker 4: I think. I think they get paid whatever they're gonna
- 53:49Speaker 4: get paid. They're not dependent on your on your.
- 53:51Speaker 5: Tip, right, it's not like a serve, but they do
- 53:53Speaker 5: get it sure.
- 53:54Speaker 4: Yeah. And then it's another question too, like if you're
- 53:56Speaker 4: at a craps table there's four, four or five dealers,
- 53:59Speaker 4: do they divvy it up? Or just pull the person
- 54:01Speaker 4: in front and get it.
- 54:02Speaker 1: They pull it, Yeah, like pull like put it in
- 54:04Speaker 1: a pool. They share it, Yeah, not like pull port.
- 54:07Speaker 1: My accent can get the way there. Speaking to the
- 54:09Speaker 1: end of that, Yeah, So you do it. One for luck,
- 54:13Speaker 1: just to kind of help your life, Like I'm winning,
- 54:15Speaker 1: I want to be generous. Two, it's just a human thing, right,
- 54:18Speaker 1: you're winning and you're like, I'm getting all this, So
- 54:22Speaker 1: why would I not break a little something off for
- 54:24Speaker 1: somebody else who's a part of me getting all this?
- 54:27Speaker 1: But very much a vibe thing too. Okay, so those
- 54:30Speaker 1: three things, but there's really no real reason to tip
- 54:33Speaker 1: somebody that isn't controlling your fate in any way. Now,
- 54:36Speaker 1: there are times where if you're at a crash table
- 54:38Speaker 1: or you're at a card table, the dealer can actually
- 54:40Speaker 1: help you sure, meaning hey, you forgot your bet or
- 54:43Speaker 1: I wouldn't hit that. You know, they're given the liberty
- 54:46Speaker 1: at times to not allow you to sink the ship.
- 54:50Speaker 1: That makes sense, but that's really not the reason you
- 54:52Speaker 1: do it. And you do it just because you're a
- 54:54Speaker 1: good person. You also do it because you feel like
- 54:55Speaker 1: if you do it helps your luck, which it doesn't.
- 54:57Speaker 1: But luck is a gonna be affected anyway.
- 55:01Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's just like you know, haircut, I get restaurant,
- 55:06Speaker 4: get the table, and never really understood, but that makes sense.
- 55:09Speaker 4: It's all luck and by that makes sense, And they
- 55:12Speaker 4: do some of them do do a little extra work.
- 55:14Speaker 4: Like even the roulette table, I'll throw it over and like,
- 55:16Speaker 4: will you put that on number three for me?
- 55:18Speaker 5: Just because you can't reach it.
- 55:20Speaker 4: It's one of the table.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Do you tip your and they probably do that anyway, right,
- 55:23Speaker 1: even if you didn't know. Do you tip your the
- 55:25Speaker 1: drink server every every time?
- 55:28Speaker 5: Every time? That's a free drink, but it's not free
- 55:30Speaker 5: of you tip every time.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Actually, if it's a dollar, a dollar vodka soda free cheap.
- 55:34Speaker 5: They water those things more, way more soda than vodka.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Yeah, those are very water down. If you pay for
- 55:41Speaker 1: one at the bar, they're not water down, not that
- 55:43Speaker 1: I know, other than just being with people while they're
- 55:45Speaker 1: getting them. Yeah, but yeah, I always so I get
- 55:49Speaker 1: a beer, I tip in a bottle bottle.
- 55:52Speaker 4: You can't water that down, or can. We're at a
- 55:55Speaker 4: bar one time and a friend of mine was like,
- 55:57Speaker 4: this is watered down big time, Like this doesn't even
- 55:59Speaker 4: taste like beer really like wow.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I tip at least a buck if I'm getting
- 56:05Speaker 1: a coke or a I get Charlie Temple's with the casino.
- 56:07Speaker 4: Yeah, that looks like a vocasta.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I got a little cherry in it too. I
- 56:11Speaker 1: need to cherry at the table.
- 56:12Speaker 5: What if you don't have any dollar chips? Break just
- 56:15Speaker 5: throw a five.
- 56:15Speaker 6: You can break it.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I've thrown a five if I'm really up, Yeah, I'll
- 56:19Speaker 1: throw a five. Usually it's a couple bucks. But you
- 56:22Speaker 1: always got to tip that because they won't come back
- 56:24Speaker 1: to you, right, or they will, but it'll be very slow.
- 56:26Speaker 1: It'd be much slower.
- 56:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and they'll let you know they're mad. They will. Yeah.
- 56:30Speaker 4: Here's another question for you guys. So, like if you
- 56:31Speaker 4: order a drink and you're you're going, you're playing, and
- 56:35Speaker 4: then they go and take your order and then you
- 56:37Speaker 4: lose all your money and you're like, well, I'm done.
- 56:39Speaker 5: That's the work?
- 56:40Speaker 4: Can you that it's in this situation? Is it cool
- 56:43Speaker 4: to just sit there for like a couple of minutes
- 56:44Speaker 4: longer until your drink gets there?
- 56:47Speaker 1: Yes, Okay, you can't take up a spot at the
- 56:49Speaker 1: table like hold spot at the table. You can stand
- 56:52Speaker 1: there and they bring the drink back because they know
- 56:55Speaker 1: who you are and the spot to bring it to. Yes,
- 56:57Speaker 1: you can get your drink, but you can't if you're
- 56:59Speaker 1: at a crash table. You know you have your slot,
- 57:01Speaker 1: you can't sit there and hold it because somebody else
- 57:03Speaker 1: needs that spot to gamble.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:05Speaker 7: Oh.
- 57:05Speaker 4: Another thing I saw too was a guy I thought
- 57:07Speaker 4: he left a dollar, Like, he just left a dollar
- 57:09Speaker 4: in his little tray in the craft's table. You know
- 57:11Speaker 4: how you have your little tray right in front of you,
- 57:13Speaker 4: and then he just left left a dollar And I
- 57:14Speaker 4: was like, uh, this dude left his dollar there. He's like, no,
- 57:17Speaker 4: that that means he's coming back.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Oh, it's a placeholder.
- 57:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't know that. So they put a little
- 57:21Speaker 4: plastic cover over his one dollar chip.
- 57:24Speaker 1: He held just an empty spot. I've seen people do
- 57:26Speaker 1: that when they'd left like hundreds of thousands of dollars there.
- 57:29Speaker 5: Yeah, but one dollar. Yeah, that's weird.
- 57:31Speaker 4: He was gonna. I guess he was one of the
- 57:32Speaker 4: atm because he came back with more cash. Our buddy,
- 57:36Speaker 4: Oh man, that's funny.
- 57:39Speaker 1: This is Funnyvin, Can I tell the story? I know openly?
- 57:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, we went to the casino.
- 57:44Speaker 5: Our buddy Steve.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Really he was really drunk.
- 57:48Speaker 4: Let me give you an idea. He shows up to
- 57:50Speaker 4: the casino with a with a case of beer nice
- 57:54Speaker 4: and puts it right under the table where he's gambling,
- 57:56Speaker 4: and he just gets his own beers. Server would come
- 57:58Speaker 4: by and be like, no, I'm good, I got my own.
- 58:00Speaker 5: You know you can do that.
- 58:01Speaker 4: You can't do that.
- 58:02Speaker 5: I was like, start doing that.
- 58:04Speaker 4: You can't.
- 58:05Speaker 1: But he did had a lot of money because he
- 58:09Speaker 1: had won a lot of money. Was really drunk, went up,
- 58:13Speaker 1: like walked away from the table. They ended up going upstairs,
- 58:15Speaker 1: going to bed, came back, forgot they had the mone
- 58:19Speaker 1: They held the spot, they hed all his money, came
- 58:20Speaker 1: back down and then had to learn that was all
- 58:22Speaker 1: his money.
- 58:22Speaker 4: He took like a like a two hour nap, went
- 58:24Speaker 4: down to the table, was like, let me try again.
- 58:26Speaker 4: He goes down and there like, Steve, I didn't know
- 58:27Speaker 4: when you were coming back. Here's all your money you left.
- 58:30Speaker 5: All his money was still there a lot.
- 58:32Speaker 1: He's like, what yeah, in the spot still?
- 58:35Speaker 5: Oh yeah? They didn't just like okay, well we're gonna
- 58:38Speaker 5: hold it over here for now hour.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Just dude, you're back two hours.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Pretty cool, that's awesome.
- 58:47Speaker 1: He was like surprised he had so much money too,
- 58:48Speaker 1: He had no idea.
- 58:50Speaker 4: My wife reminded me that one time, one time we
- 58:54Speaker 4: were I guess it was one of our fantasy trips.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Uh not fantasy football.
- 58:59Speaker 4: We going to fans Saper football trip and she I
- 59:04Speaker 4: told her that I won like eight hundred dollars, which
- 59:06Speaker 4: I did. I bet on black. I'd not black. It
- 59:09Speaker 4: was a hard ten put one hundred dollars on hard
- 59:11Speaker 4: tend hit it and I lost all my money. I'm like,
- 59:14Speaker 4: I had no idea where that money is. Turns out
- 59:16Speaker 4: that was in my boot when I got back, I
- 59:19Speaker 4: had all this these chips that I put in my boot.
- 59:21Speaker 4: I guess that night I was so drunk I got
- 59:23Speaker 4: all my money and stuck in my boot.
- 59:24Speaker 7: I had no idea.
- 59:25Speaker 1: So you said you had all the chips, Yes, I
- 59:27Speaker 1: still had all the tips in my boot. How'd you
- 59:29Speaker 1: get your money?
- 59:29Speaker 4: I guess the next time we went, I don't remember
- 59:31Speaker 4: holding for that long. I guess. My wife's like, yeah,
- 59:34Speaker 4: you don't remember that.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I'm glad we don't have casinos here,
- 59:38Speaker 1: Like it's novel. Yeah to go and do something occasionally,
- 59:41Speaker 1: but I'm glad we don't have them here.
- 59:43Speaker 4: But I've also heard people that live in Vegas is
- 59:44Speaker 4: this we just don't go, like never gamble. Yeah, when
- 59:49Speaker 4: they live in Vegas, but.
- 59:50Speaker 1: They're probably not gamblers like us. I think people that
- 59:53Speaker 1: say that, like, yeah, it's like people that live in
- 59:55Speaker 1: Nashville don't go to Broadway whether they not get drinkers anyway, Yeah, yeah,
- 59:58Speaker 1: they go to a off bar. Yeah, so you'd probably
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: go to a smaller casino that wasn't on Broadway for
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: one of the neighborhood.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: You know, you're at a local casino, like when you
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: walk in those small ones and fagots. Oh yeah, these
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: are like these people are here five days a week.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. All right, we're done, Thank you guys.

- 1:00:33Speaker 6: But what I've been having luck with are the anytime
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: TD scores and I kind of I was looking at
- 1:00:40Speaker 6: this Colts Rams game, and all of these players have
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: been targeted. They've been doing really well on all three
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: games that have just happened. So, Jonathan Taylor, you have.
