  But this is kind of just putting a bow on on what we just saw

  unfold for the last two games that each of these series saw

  play out. It was what, 5-5 and six for the

  Mets and Dodgers and then four and five for the Yankees and
• 3:12
  Guardians since since we last chatted at least.

  But let's, you know, let's get right into it.

  You know, you talk Stanton talking Judge.

  Let's get into the meat and potatoes of, of how this thing

  was one on behalf of the Yankees.

  What was your what was your take away from from this series as a

  whole? First off, the the three games
• 3:41
  in Cleveland, Great games, all just very good games.
• 3:50
  Games that I feel like the Yankees hadn't gotten caught
• 3:53
  yet. You know, the last series is a
• 3:57
  little bit of a snoozer. I don't think the Royals, I
• 4:02
  mean, it's not like they played poorly.
• 4:08
  It's not like the Yankees played great.
• 4:10
  It was just it was kind of AI. Don't know, it just it didn't
• 4:14
  didn't really check a ton of boxes in the in like the
• 4:17
  excitement category, you know what I mean?
• 4:20
  But this series, wow. Wow, wow, wow.

  Let me ask you because but we've talked about it right here
• 4:26
  before, but you know, it's, it's easy for folks and I'm not I'm
• 4:30
  not trying to like prop ourselves up here, but it it's I
• 4:33
  have found, at least in conversation with people that
• 4:36
  it's easy for folks who don't do this sort of thing where you
• 4:39
  have to like actually keep track of of the finer details of these
• 4:43
  games. It's easy for for games not to
• 4:46
  run together as much, but. These puppies run together man
• 4:50
  for. Stuff like like the in the in
• 4:52
  the content game, it things do run together because you got to
• 4:56
  you got to have notes, you got to have thoughts on certain
• 4:58
  games and things start to run together.

  So forgive all that to say, forgive me if I if if I'm not

  remembering this correctly, but did we or did we not start the
• 5:11
  LCS stage of the postseason saying that the Mets Dodgers
• 5:18
  series was the more call it entertaining series, at least in
• 5:23
  the early going? And then was there not a shift?
• 5:26
  I felt a shift personal, but I have a lot, like a lot of lot of
• 5:31
  bias on that show. You don't have bias in this.
• 5:34
  So I think you can speak to the shift better than I can.

  Yeah, I, I mean, I'm, I'm like I said, the games run together.

  I'm trying to, I'm trying to think back on the, the, the
• 5:44
  early Mets, Dodgers games of this series.

  Well, I mean, there was a clunker in there, wasn't it was

  like a nine nothing game. But at all, they were all
• 5:52
  blowouts, which certainly didn't help their case.
• 5:57
  And we'll we'll get into that. But there was just a there was a

  a good sense of shift in entertainment value, I guess
• 6:05
  we'll call it because man. And and there was just things
• 6:09
  that in in this series, Yankees Guardian series that I mean, you

  talk Emmanuel class say you talk Giancarlo Stanton, just things

  that. You.
• 6:18
  Thought maybe could happen, but if you ran a simulation out of
• 6:22
  100 times, things are just going to go sort of as planned
• 6:26
  probably 95 to 98 times. But you know, that's baseball
• 6:32
  and you get you, you get a manual Class A coming out,
• 6:35
  dropping some, some, some games they're late.

  And then Giancarlo Stanton just becoming a Hall of Famer and in

  a single series, it seems. But.

  Pretty much. Pretty much, yeah.

  I mean, I guess we can start Game four-game 4.

  I'm trying to like, it felt like the Yankees kind of stole it in

  a way. Like, it felt like the Guardians

  just would not go away. They just kept punching, kept

  punching. Then that was the one with the

  crazy, weird play. Yeah, I just watched that.

  I wanted to make sure it was game four, that crazy, weird
• 7:22
  play of the swinging bunt up the line and Mark Leiter junior

  flips it to Rizzo and Rizzo just, like, get stuck in mud or

  something. Just gets a little and gave me

  like super Bill Buckner vibes. Sorry I.

  I was not happy to be fair, to lay the setting.

  So like, I'm very over the top during these games.

  May or may not have had adult beverages in the mix.

  So like, it just kind of added to the equation of it's

  understandable. Yeah.

  So I was yelling. I was, I was slamming stuff.

  I was just nervous, man. Crazy nervous.

  This like this, the last three games, my heart rate, you know,
• 8:45
  just checking the pulse. It was up and down, up and down,
• 8:52
  punches back and forth. But whoa, whoa, big moments, big

  games. I don't know.

  I can't. I guess like you said, like it

  kind of just blends together trying to like that.

  I do remember the crazy moment of the camera angle on Joe

  Kenzie Noel's ball that he hit to the track where the camera

  angle made it look like it was going out of the stadium.

  Thought that ball was no less than 1000 feet.

  I I froze like a moment in time. I froze.

  There's that moment on the broadcast where there's like
• 9:34
  some real dissonance going on because you're going, what I'm
• 9:38
  hearing and what I'm seeing are not lining up because that ball
• 9:43
  looks like it's a mile and a half out of the stadium minimum.

  Meanwhile, I'm getting no sense of urgency or excitement from
• 9:52
  the broadcast or the, the, the crowd like in in the background.

  So I don't know what's happening.

  There's like a few seconds there where it just feels like it

  drags on for hours and then. I'm so glad TBS is done.

  I'm so glad it's done. I'm over the TBS.

  Like a real big struggle for multiple series, multiple games,

  Cameras broadcasts the replays, hammering us with the umpire
• 10:22
  cameras during the most inopportune times.

  Hey, I'm not going to lie, I I, I I enjoyed the the base Cam.

  I mean, I know the home plate view gets gets sort of abused at
• 10:34
  this stage, but I don't mind the base.

  The base was nice. Like the first base umpire, if

  the guy is like starting to lead off and just like flash to him
• 10:42
  real quick, I think that's kind of cool.

  It's a unique angle, especially if you have like a like a base
• 10:48
  dealer on 1st. You can really see that lead.

  Flash to it for a SEC. I hate the umpire like like

  behind the dish Cam during the pitch where the pitch is like it

  actually gets hit. And then they're like they're
• 11:06
  like scrambling and TBS is like where's the ball?

  And then they flash to a camera and it's like Stanton's face in
• 11:11
  the dugout. And then the ball is like
• 11:13
  landing in the grass somewhere. It's it was a mess, but.

  Well, Speaking of Speaking of Stanton, talk to me about

  Stanton. I mean, as we mentioned, NLALCS,
• 11:26
  MVP4 homers in the series, 7 ribbies and OPS of 12/22.

  I mean, you, you talk to me all the time about his streakiness.
• 11:36
  And, and that's certain. Like if you pay any degree of
• 11:39
  attention to to Stanton or really to him at any point over
• 11:42
  the stage of his or the the length of his career, you know
• 11:45
  that that seems to be the a trend with him.
• 11:48
  But he more often than not seems to get hot at the right time.

  When when this. Team it's awesome.

  It's awesome, like all things forgiven, all things forgiven
• 11:59
  and I think he had a great year and you remember that was my guy
• 12:03
  for comeback player of the year. I felt that, I felt like he and
• 12:10
  I, I still think he had a pretty, I think he had like 2728
• 12:13
  home runs. Like it was pretty good.

  I think the days of like, you know, 4050 home run stands like
• 12:21
  they're, they're just gone. They don't, they don't exist
• 12:24
  anymore. And so like you kind of just

  hold on to these two or three like 2 weeks stretches during

  the regular season, you're like you're impossible to get out.

  But outside of that, the rest of the regular season, you're like,

  this is awful. I think you're swinging from the

  wrong side of the plate. So it's just these extremes.

  But man, during the postseason, this guy just locks it in.

  I I watched him struggle to keep up with a 96 mile an hour

  fastball for 162. Now all of a sudden he's fouling

  101 on one straight back. And I'm like, if if they get him

  out, like they're getting away with something at this point,

  it's just locked in, man. I don't know what it is.

  It's a slow heartbeat. It's and it's like when this

  stuff starts to happen, it just kind of builds like it's like a

  on a on a different in a different way.

  in the regular season. It's just like, but you get

  flashes of like Florida Marlins, Giancarlo Stanton and fresh

  So it's it's wild. I do think game five, I think, I

  think he baited them. I think he I genuinely felt like

  he baited them because I'm pretty sure the 1st 2 pitches

  his decision making that they got addressed.

  And yeah, I mean, I think I'm I'm not going to dog on Stephen

  vote too much, but there were there were a few moments during

  this series that I felt like it felt weird in Game 5 till I and

  example, and I know that that's gotten beaten into the ground at

  this point, but like that's just a perfect example of a guy that

  you've been able to rely on literally all season long.

  you that you can't necessarily look to vote to and be like you.

  asking the question like how mentally weak was he at that

  stage in the game? Like how insecure was he about

  or way down. Like sometimes they just get you

  in to get time because it's been a little bit this post season's

  very odd, very different and much, very similar to like when

  a starter is used to those every fifth day.

  But Len would like travel days and and back to the other

  stadium and maybe it's been 7 or 8 days.

  You know, like, that can mess with a guy and that I wonder if

  that's a part of the equation. But yeah, man, I think it's just

  like once you see a little bit of a chink in the armor and and

  no, like Judge didn't have a good series.

  No, Judge has not done well overall in the postseason.

  that's positive about what he's done, that home run, even in a

  loss, showed that we can get to this guy.

  And who knows what he walks back to the dugout with as far as

  information, like, I don't know, doesn't matter now.

  But yeah, he just didn't, didn't quite look right.

  Talk to me about how you're feeling leading leading up to

  as it's happening and then how you felt afterwards.

  As it was happening, what was really cool about me watching

  this with my buddies is that some of them, like they kind of

  and I were to sit down and watch like an NBA Finals game.

  Like we know we could, we could grab a couple names off of the

  court. But like, overall, we don't

  really know what's going on. So much of the group that I was

  with and what was cool is that they're like definitely asking

  me questions and I'm explaining why certain things are

  impressive, but to see like very green to the sport.

  People. Watch Juan Soto during that at

  bat and they see the shuffle, they see the head nod and

  they're like. This.

  Guy's tapped and I'm like, oh, I know he's 25 and he's about to

  make 6 or 700 million this offseason.

  And they're like, what? I'm like, yes, this is the dude.

  He's already said to be a Hall of Famer.

  Like this is the guy and they're watching him.

  They're watching this at bat and they're watching him just like

  fight stuff off. And they're like, well, like

  what is that about? I'm like, it's he's he's doing

  that on purpose. Like he's, he's punching that

  stuff away to get to the pitch that he's looking for.

  And he's slowly doing a process of elimination with this guy to

  get to the pitch he wants. And you text me and you're like,

  there's never a doubt. There's just this like.

  The most? Predictable thing for for

  zone and it's right at the letters and like.

  couch. It was just huge leather couch

  in this Airbnb and I just I was like, let's go slamming pillows.

  to see like non Yankee fans, non baseball fans, like like kind of

  see that moment and celebrate with me.

  It was very surreal. I don't think I'll ever forget

  in the studio and he was talking about it.

  He said that was probably the best at bat I've ever seen.

  Fenway Park, the tigers at the time and I lost it.

  Dude, I was in like this common area this like TV room in in our
