- 0:09Speaker 1: But I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:15Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:22Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no, guests,
- 0:28Speaker 1: you're our presences presents enough.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I already had too much stuff, So how did you
- 0:36Speaker 2: dare to surbey me?
- 0:48Speaker 3: Welcome to I said, no gifts. I'm Richard Wineger weird.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Uh what's going on?
- 0:56Speaker 4: Uh?
- 0:56Speaker 3: All people wanted me to talk about. I went and
- 0:59Speaker 3: did the skydiving that Chris Grace gave to me. The
- 1:03Speaker 3: I fly at the Universal City Walk, which is kind
- 1:07Speaker 3: of the gem of Los Angeles. I went at eleven
- 1:11Speaker 3: am last Wednesday. Had the time of my life, just
- 1:16Speaker 3: a thrill. I mean, if the instructor had just let
- 1:21Speaker 3: me do my own thing, it probably have been more exciting.
- 1:23Speaker 3: But he held on to me the entire time. No
- 1:25Speaker 3: one will just let me be me ah, and I
- 1:29Speaker 3: probably won't go back. I mean, this is in the
- 1:31Speaker 3: middle of a mall, in the middle of a theme park,
- 1:36Speaker 3: so it's not that accessible. But I had a wonderful time.
- 1:40Speaker 3: It's changed me and you're going to feel that throughout
- 1:43Speaker 3: the rest of the episodes of this podcast, So just
- 1:46Speaker 3: buckle up. I adore today's guests. I just think they're
- 1:50Speaker 3: so wonderful. It's Matthew and Daniel Lipman. You guys welcomed.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I said, no gifts, thank you for having us, Thank
- 1:56Speaker 3: you so much of course. Well, I mean you begged
- 1:59Speaker 3: for months.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Yeah, months, years. We had a bit when you started
- 2:03Speaker 5: the podcast that we were offended. That was only kind
- 2:08Speaker 5: of half a bit, uh, that we hadn't been asked.
- 2:11Speaker 5: And I think it was five years ago. When was that?
- 2:13Speaker 3: I think it's been it's almost five years.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so the pretty much for the entire run
- 2:18Speaker 5: and all the podcasts you've done. How many times have
- 2:22Speaker 5: I sent you the Instagram post about the podcast since? Yes?
- 2:26Speaker 5: Hmm yeah, really scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's
- 2:30Speaker 5: probably there have been multiple friends of ours who have
- 2:33Speaker 5: been on I think three or four times. Yeah, I
- 2:36Speaker 5: think do you think got her five time? Or she's
- 2:39Speaker 5: got the jacket?
- 2:40Speaker 3: She said she had to be on a fifth time
- 2:41Speaker 3: before you too would be allowed?
- 2:43Speaker 5: How is it up to her?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Well, it's just kind of a shadow producer.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Got it, got it? Got it?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Well?
- 2:48Speaker 5: It is truly an honored reader. We're very excited.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I'm thrilled to have you.
- 2:51Speaker 5: How are you? We're great, We're really really good. I
- 2:55Speaker 5: think he downgraded it already. I think we're okay. I
- 2:59Speaker 5: think we're going We're gonna be mad by the time
- 3:01Speaker 5: by the end. We're doing okay. I think we're doing fine.
- 3:04Speaker 5: I'm very happy to be here.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Though, Okay, fantastic. Uh what was I going to ask you?
- 3:09Speaker 3: I can't even remember. I'm so bamboozled by YouTube being here.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Is there any way you could tell us a little
- 3:14Speaker 5: more about the skydiving because I was really interested a.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Gift I was given on the podcast a few weeks ago,
- 3:20Speaker 3: which I was genuinely frequently on this podcast. I'm like, oh,
- 3:24Speaker 3: this is something I just have to put in a closet.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Got it.
- 3:27Speaker 3: But it was the skydiving, and the guest at, Chris Grace,
- 3:30Speaker 3: had listened to a prior episode where apparently I told
- 3:33Speaker 3: people I wanted to do indoor skydiving, which you didn't
- 3:36Speaker 3: even remember. I don't.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I don't know why, but it was a completely lie.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I mean, we tried to impress some lot of I
- 3:43Speaker 3: drove the base.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, they were walking by and they lowered their sunglasses.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I would endoor skydive. Oh yeah, certainly.
- 3:53Speaker 2: No.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I mean, I guess it is something in line with
- 3:55Speaker 3: something I would say I would like to do and
- 3:56Speaker 3: then not want to pay for it as most of
- 3:59Speaker 3: my life is it. If he hadn't been on the podcast,
- 4:02Speaker 3: I probably would have wanted to do it my entire
- 4:04Speaker 3: life and then died. So he really he stepped in
- 4:06Speaker 3: and got me skydive and got it. But you go
- 4:09Speaker 3: to the city Walk, I don't know what, have you
- 4:11Speaker 3: been to the city Walk?
- 4:12Speaker 2: Oh?
- 4:12Speaker 5: Yeah, of course love the city Walk? Or the Universal
- 4:15Speaker 5: City Yeah? Oh got it? That's the one.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yes, if the listener is not familiar, it's a mall.
- 4:19Speaker 3: It's all an outdoor mall, but it's like attached to Universal.
- 4:23Speaker 5: It's attached to Universal Studios, and you have to pay
- 4:26Speaker 5: the full theme park parking price. Do you have you
- 4:29Speaker 5: noticed now?
- 4:29Speaker 3: This is something that us really stressing me out the
- 4:32Speaker 3: entire exp.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Right, it's crazy. So if you go to a movie, right,
- 4:36Speaker 5: you go in the parking structure, it's just like a
- 4:38Speaker 5: regular it's like a mall. But because it's the same
- 4:40Speaker 5: parking structure as the theme park. When you would expect
- 4:44Speaker 5: theme park parking to be wildly expensive, extort, You're right,
- 4:47Speaker 5: it's thirty five dollars to park, and they're like and
- 4:52Speaker 5: they're like, okay, no problem. You just have to bring
- 4:54Speaker 5: this thing and then you get what's it called. You
- 4:56Speaker 5: get relation and you get validation, and then they reimburse
- 5:00Speaker 5: you thirty dollars cash to give you cat the craziest
- 5:06Speaker 5: thing in the entire city. I didn't have to deal
- 5:08Speaker 5: with any of that. And then I'm stressed walking back
- 5:10Speaker 5: through the mall with thirty dollars cash because that's a
- 5:13Speaker 5: lot of money to be walking through all like that. Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the I fly indoors skydiving. Okay, they really
- 5:20Speaker 3: they give you at all. I got to do Ballet
- 5:23Speaker 3: Wow for free. If I brought back my certificate of
- 5:26Speaker 3: being a first time flyer. I was happy to rub
- 5:28Speaker 3: that in people's face.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Oh my god, are you kidding? You're laminating that thing
- 5:31Speaker 5: and putting in on.
- 5:31Speaker 3: The next strangers in the malla?
- 5:34Speaker 5: Do you think they were when r Kelly went down?
- 5:37Speaker 5: It had to be the themesistently it was.
- 5:40Speaker 3: It was early quiet, right.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Was it?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Ever?
- 5:43Speaker 5: I believe I can fly, and then they just like
- 5:45Speaker 5: they brought out most.
- 5:47Speaker 3: That's another business altogether. Just I believe it's like a
- 5:51Speaker 3: franchise of churches or something.
- 5:52Speaker 5: That's a whole other thing. So so you did it,
- 5:56Speaker 5: and then you wanted you had ideas that they wouldn't
- 5:59Speaker 5: let you execute because as.
- 6:01Speaker 3: The cradle you when your first time there, you have
- 6:04Speaker 3: to become like an expert in order for them to
- 6:06Speaker 3: just let you do it.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Got it.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Okay, So the guy's holding you like a baby the
- 6:09Speaker 3: whole time.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Fairness with them. They did say no professionals.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so it was, but it was exciting. I
- 6:16Speaker 3: paid dicks or twenty dollars to go all the way
- 6:18Speaker 3: to the top, okay, and it's so exhausting. God, you
- 6:22Speaker 3: get down and you're tired. So I just kind of
- 6:25Speaker 3: Have either of you ever been skydiving?
- 6:26Speaker 2: No?
- 6:26Speaker 5: No, not interesting the plane jumping type. Literally, I'm not
- 6:31Speaker 5: a thrill seeker, not thrill seeking bone in my box. No,
- 6:34Speaker 5: I'm good, I might track you. I'm okay, honestly that
- 6:37Speaker 5: I'm a hard no on that indoor skydiving. I think
- 6:40Speaker 5: any type of diving. I don't even really like diving
- 6:44Speaker 5: in a swimming pool. The ocean, yeah, oh, I'm not
- 6:46Speaker 5: a fan of the ocean. The ocean is. The ocean
- 6:48Speaker 5: is terrible.
- 6:48Speaker 3: It's a bad bull.
- 6:50Speaker 5: No, there's no reason for it.
- 6:51Speaker 3: We should be filling it with garbage, more garbage.
- 6:54Speaker 5: I don't I don't mind that at all. I mean, listen,
- 6:56Speaker 5: I like looking at it, and I like being in
- 6:58Speaker 5: a hotel room where you can see it sure, or
- 7:01Speaker 5: even better, at a pool where you have a view
- 7:03Speaker 5: of it. I don't mind an infinity pool that looks
- 7:06Speaker 5: like it's part of the ocean, but actually it is
- 7:08Speaker 5: the Number one lives?
- 7:09Speaker 3: Are you leading?
- 7:10Speaker 2: No?
- 7:10Speaker 5: No, No, I've seen these. I've seen on TV. I've
- 7:14Speaker 5: seen it. I watch very expensive TV. I take really
- 7:17Speaker 5: expensive TV vacations. Yeah, yeah, but no, that's the dream.
- 7:22Speaker 5: And then, because honestly, the sand is annoying. I can't
- 7:26Speaker 5: get over the idea that you could be just like
- 7:29Speaker 5: bopping around in a body of water and get eaten
- 7:31Speaker 5: by something. It's terrifying. It doesn't make any sense. But
- 7:34Speaker 5: why volunteer to go in that thing? That's what I'm saying.
- 7:37Speaker 5: It's like, there's really no reason for like, you wouldn't
- 7:40Speaker 5: go like swimming in a trash heap. There's just too
- 7:43Speaker 5: many things that could go wrong, right, I feel like
- 7:46Speaker 5: more things can go wrong. Yeah, I feel much more
- 7:48Speaker 5: comfortable in a trash.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Yeah, there are many sharks, dangerous fish.
- 7:52Speaker 5: I think you could wear like some type of armor
- 7:55Speaker 5: and dive in a trash heap and be okay. Although
- 7:57Speaker 5: maybe in an infinity pool with a view of a
- 7:59Speaker 5: trash sheep that is the hotel you want to that
- 8:03Speaker 5: or an infinity trash heat that's oh my god.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It literally looks like in Yeah, you can't see the edge.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Because I hate when I heard a trash heap and
- 8:13Speaker 5: then it's got that rim around it. Yeah, so ugly.
- 8:16Speaker 5: And then it's got the thing where it lowers the
- 8:18Speaker 5: like differently abled folks into it and had things an
- 8:20Speaker 5: iore on trash. Yeah, no one wants that.
- 8:26Speaker 3: No, I like, I think my biggest problem with the
- 8:28Speaker 3: ocean is to drive home. Got it if I can
- 8:31Speaker 3: get to a shower quickly within three minutes of being
- 8:34Speaker 3: in the ocean.
- 8:35Speaker 5: But that's so rare, it's impossible. Everywhere. Yeah, take fountain
- 8:43Speaker 5: not from the ocean, doesn't go that far it is.
- 8:46Speaker 5: It is a pain in the amount of sand everywhere.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Then you need I mean, I like a clean car.
- 8:51Speaker 5: You gotta get your car detailed. I mean, I love
- 8:56Speaker 5: taking my there's a dog beach in Malibu that we
- 8:59Speaker 5: would take the Yeah, I love bragging about the public
- 9:02Speaker 5: dog beach. It's truly accessible to everyone who's alive. We
- 9:07Speaker 5: can go there. It's amazing. It's very far. But my
- 9:10Speaker 5: dog is so dirty and sandy that my car is ruined.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Does your dog like the beach?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Love?
- 9:15Speaker 3: So you're keeping the dog from.
- 9:16Speaker 5: The loves it. I'm keeping the dog for a number
- 9:19Speaker 5: of reasons, but the dogs. But the dog is stupid.
- 9:23Speaker 5: The dog, Oh sorry, he doesn't like the ocean. He
- 9:26Speaker 5: likes the beach just fine. But also he's never really
- 9:29Speaker 5: had the opportunity to swim in an infinity pool or
- 9:32Speaker 5: an infinity trash heap. Right, right, right, I could have
- 9:35Speaker 5: one of those trash you could broaden his horizon. Can
- 9:38Speaker 5: you take a dog to a trash heap? That's a
- 9:40Speaker 5: good question. Some of them are not pets. Some of
- 9:44Speaker 5: them yeah, well there you can have a pet, but
- 9:46Speaker 5: it has to be on a leaves. Yeah you can't.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Just there's no that's annoying. But they say that you can't. Whatever,
- 9:52Speaker 5: it's it's a whole thing.
- 9:54Speaker 3: What is the most thrilling thing either of you have
- 9:56Speaker 3: ever done? Like a like oh, like in that Yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 3: I mean edging towards and jumping out of a plane.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Oh my goodness. I went for a multi day hike
- 10:05Speaker 5: in in China that was like a like easily could
- 10:09Speaker 5: have died type.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Of Wow, just feel outside of your real miscomfort.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Yeah. I used to be so adventurous. The world has
- 10:17Speaker 5: beaten me down to basically being a living room dweller.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I am to the point of just like the thought
- 10:23Speaker 3: of doing something is enough for me.
- 10:25Speaker 5: There's nothing out there for me. I I enjoy being outdoors,
- 10:32Speaker 5: but not with a tremendous amount of risk. So like
- 10:34Speaker 5: a hike, I love like, I like, I'm not that
- 10:37Speaker 5: much of a couch potato I was. I love that phrase.
- 10:39Speaker 5: By the way, I'm trying to bring it back.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:42Speaker 5: By the way, remember because we're talking to my kids
- 10:43Speaker 5: about this, like it used to be like a negative thing.
- 10:46Speaker 5: If your kids just sat around and watched TV. Now
- 10:47Speaker 5: that would be like the best kid ever. Because enjoy
- 10:50Speaker 5: like being on TikTok. They're just like watching TV. I'd
- 10:53Speaker 5: be like, they like long for yacause I couldn't even
- 10:56Speaker 5: tell my friends. I'd be bragging. They would be like, Okay,
- 10:59Speaker 5: attention space excuse me. Yeah, you know, she's a bit
- 11:02Speaker 5: of a couch potato, not to brag much. Must be nice.
- 11:08Speaker 5: She loves sitcoms. Oh my goodness, that's amazing. Good for her.
- 11:11Speaker 5: It was called the tiger Leaping Gorge.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Tiger Leaping Gorge, but.
- 11:17Speaker 5: That is the trip was getting there. You almost felt
- 11:20Speaker 5: it was on the way back. On the way. So
- 11:22Speaker 5: on the way back, you hike for multiple days, you
- 11:25Speaker 5: get to the end, and then you get a ride
- 11:27Speaker 5: back sort of along the less high part but still
- 11:31Speaker 5: high enough that he knows all the terms. Technically. Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 5: I was quite the outdoor. Yeah, And essentially this driver
- 11:42Speaker 5: knows it like the back of their hand. And they're
- 11:44Speaker 5: driving incredibly fast, way too fast for my comfort. And
- 11:50Speaker 5: it's raining, and there's like parts of the road that
- 11:53Speaker 5: have fallen that have like made like waterfalls. It's like
- 11:58Speaker 5: a video game. And I read the following week that
- 12:02Speaker 5: a van exactly like the one that we were in
- 12:04Speaker 5: fell off the uh fell off the road and plummeted
- 12:08Speaker 5: to its death. The tourists in it, Wow, well you
- 12:11Speaker 5: beat them, Yeah, caught the break line or anything of
- 12:18Speaker 5: the van was opportunity because I didn't. I don't think
- 12:23Speaker 5: anyone would have assumed less until you said that. I
- 12:27Speaker 5: didn't deflate any of the tires or anything again when
- 12:29Speaker 5: I would. So you you got there and you're like,
- 12:32Speaker 5: no one else will ever get to do this safely? Correct?
- 12:35Speaker 5: And so you, oh god you did.
- 12:38Speaker 3: You wanted to be the last person to do it safely.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Well, I wanted to prove a point that it wasn't safe.
- 12:42Speaker 5: He likes to be the last person to do everything.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Once he does it, no one else.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Very exciting thing you do.
- 12:48Speaker 5: This isn't safe, and I'll show you. Yeah watch how
- 12:51Speaker 5: watch how unsafe it is?
- 12:53Speaker 3: How did you end up in China? Was it? Did
- 12:55Speaker 3: somebody just bring up the idea? Was it a bachelor party? Yeah?
- 12:59Speaker 2: You know the.
- 13:04Speaker 5: China? Yeah, all those classic Yeah, it was wild.
- 13:09Speaker 3: No.
- 13:09Speaker 5: I worked for the Olympics in two thousand and eight
- 13:11Speaker 5: as a reporter for the Olympic News Service.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Wow, I had no idea.
- 13:15Speaker 5: I covered basketball men's and women's and then I stayed
- 13:18Speaker 5: and covered the Paralympics, where I covered sitting volleyball. Wow.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, how long was that the only time you ever
- 13:24Speaker 3: did it?
- 13:25Speaker 5: I did it once. Yes, it was enough. It was unpaid.
- 13:27Speaker 3: It was unpaid.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Uh, Yeah, how did what?
- 13:30Speaker 3: I had no idea about this in your past.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Uh.
- 13:35Speaker 5: After college, I was offered this opportunity to go and
- 13:37Speaker 5: do this, and I love basketball and I had literally
- 13:41Speaker 5: nothing else to do with my entire life, so I
- 13:44Speaker 5: said yes, and it was fantastic. I will say everyone
- 13:47Speaker 5: else knew this about him in the room that we
- 13:49Speaker 5: worked in, which is why we were so surprised that
- 13:52Speaker 5: you were the one who had a podcast, because we're like,
- 13:54Speaker 5: he didn't ask Daniel any questions about himself at all.
- 13:57Speaker 5: I wanted nothing to do with I, Like, have you
- 14:00Speaker 5: ever been to China? It would be like such a
- 14:02Speaker 5: normal you should ask everybody. You literally went down about travel?
- 14:10Speaker 5: Is like your area of interest?
- 14:12Speaker 3: Here? Has been to China? That's all I want to
- 14:14Speaker 3: know about any of it.
- 14:15Speaker 5: I need to show of hands, storming out of the
- 14:19Speaker 5: room so mad when no one had been.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I have.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I went on a Mormon mission to Malaysia. That's where
- 14:28Speaker 3: your mission is. Yes, so did you did you finish?
- 14:31Speaker 5: Did you? We were like and no.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I associated there for two years.
- 14:33Speaker 5: I was there for four months four minutes.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Off.
- 14:41Speaker 5: It was tropical, I'm sure.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, Frosty entering and they got back on the plane
- 14:49Speaker 3: came home.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Got it? Wait?
- 14:51Speaker 3: Why I got for I had a complete nervous breakdown.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Got it? Okay, Tod Now I looked like a jerk.
- 14:58Speaker 3: No, it's fine. I'm happy to talk about this because
- 15:00Speaker 3: I was twenty and it was clearly where the path
- 15:03Speaker 3: was headed. Right, when you don't quite believe in a thing,
- 15:06Speaker 3: and then you go to the most rural, foreign place
- 15:09Speaker 3: you've ever been, and then you're on a bike for
- 15:11Speaker 3: eight hours a day.
- 15:12Speaker 5: Wait, part of it was being a that's how you
- 15:14Speaker 5: got from place to place.
- 15:15Speaker 3: To Yeah, we were on bikes, bikes so long. Wow,
- 15:18Speaker 3: Because it's like a job, you're going around trying to
- 15:20Speaker 3: convert people. Yeah, right, so and then you're trying you're
- 15:23Speaker 3: converting you know, the poorest people you've ever met into
- 15:26Speaker 3: a church that you yourself.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Are like, I don't know, I'm not sure this is
- 15:30Speaker 5: to help you at all.
- 15:32Speaker 3: This might actually be first for your situation.
- 15:36Speaker 5: You're going to have to give us all your money.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yeah right, you're obviously swimming and Cass.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I've always wondered about that. I mean, we've all seen
- 15:45Speaker 5: the play, but like when they're handing it out like
- 15:48Speaker 5: you obviously, I mean it's a big thing, like people
- 15:50Speaker 5: are excited, like The Adorable bike Man. The bike Man
- 15:54Speaker 5: played the favorite musical, The Adorable bike Man Broadway smash
- 15:58Speaker 5: The Adorable bike Man. I loved it. It was one
- 16:01Speaker 5: of the better players I've seen. No, when they're handing out, like,
- 16:04Speaker 5: how does it work like in the where they just
- 16:06Speaker 5: gather everyone and they're like, you're going here, You're going here.
- 16:08Speaker 5: You're like to know where you're you're going on your
- 16:11Speaker 5: You get.
- 16:12Speaker 3: A letter in the mail, you have a ton of
- 16:14Speaker 3: interviews beforehand, like to prove that you're like following the
- 16:18Speaker 3: rules all of this, And so do some people not
- 16:20Speaker 3: get to go? I mean most people get You have
- 16:24Speaker 3: to either like an idiot, be like a teen father,
- 16:27Speaker 3: or be actively addicted to drugs?
- 16:29Speaker 5: What about both?
- 16:30Speaker 3: They're making it back, clean it up, put him a charge.
- 16:37Speaker 5: You speak directly to God. Okay, you're on your way.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Uh No, like being selected for a jury, would you
- 16:44Speaker 5: ever be like? But I don't like Malaysians.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I think you can kind of hint at where you
- 16:51Speaker 3: would like to go.
- 16:53Speaker 5: I want to I'm fluent. How does the hell in Hawaiian?
- 17:02Speaker 3: You like? They ask you a bunch of questions I
- 17:04Speaker 3: don't know if this lead to anything. And then you
- 17:06Speaker 3: get a letter in the mail and you open in
- 17:08Speaker 3: front of your family and that you find out right
- 17:11Speaker 3: then where you're going?
- 17:12Speaker 5: Got it? And where do you How did you feel
- 17:14Speaker 5: about Malaysia?
- 17:15Speaker 3: Well it was so it was to the Singapore Mission,
- 17:18Speaker 3: which covered Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Wow, And so I was. I was thrilled.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I was like, oh, this sounds like a wonderful part
- 17:28Speaker 3: of the world to visit. I mean, but again on vacation, yes, sure,
- 17:32Speaker 3: But as a volunteer job where you're like, your only
- 17:37Speaker 3: social contact is one other person who you hate.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're on a bicycle. Oh wow, can't be overstated.
- 17:43Speaker 5: You are on a bicycle and you hate each other?
- 17:45Speaker 5: Did they did? Did you hate that person before you left?
- 17:49Speaker 5: Do you know this person? I met him there? Got it?
- 17:51Speaker 3: And he was just the I mean, the opposite of
- 17:54Speaker 3: me in every single way. Got it, kind of not adorable,
- 17:58Speaker 3: not adorable, bike a ball, he was very sweating, he.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Didn't sing at all when we rode. He knew Daniel
- 18:06Speaker 5: went to China. China. It's fine, but.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it was I'd like to go back, sure under
- 18:21Speaker 3: different circumstances.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Which can I just sorry, we can get off this.
- 18:24Speaker 5: How did you get out of it? You're just like
- 18:26Speaker 5: I need to leave.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I mean, I mean it's dark, it gets very dark.
- 18:30Speaker 3: It we're probably too dark to a listener on this podcast,
- 18:34Speaker 3: and it's fine.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Expecting a light romp are all my material is really
- 18:41Speaker 5: messing Matthew Blue twisted from the twisted mind of you
- 18:45Speaker 5: don't want to take a walk up here?
- 18:46Speaker 2: Man?
- 18:46Speaker 5: It is it's dark.
- 18:47Speaker 3: It's a bad neighbor a bad neighborhood. No, I'm not uncomfortable.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I'm actually happy to talk about it. But it's just
- 18:52Speaker 3: like kind of yeah, it's a drag, but no, I
- 18:55Speaker 3: don't want to breeze past. I'm no longer interested for
- 18:58Speaker 3: everyone to be like maybe Bridger can come home?
- 19:01Speaker 5: Got it okay?
- 19:01Speaker 3: And then there was like kind of a push for
- 19:03Speaker 3: They're like, well, do you want to go somewhere else?
- 19:05Speaker 3: Is like, no, I am picturing you wielding a machete?
- 19:10Speaker 3: Is that even I didn't get to hold a single knife?
- 19:12Speaker 5: Oh my god, but we did all that.
- 19:20Speaker 3: The typical missionary, they're holding a machete.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Of course, slashing his way through the thick jungle brush.
- 19:26Speaker 5: I see you with two, honestly, just like almost more
- 19:31Speaker 5: on the back. Don't forget his tiny little ankle machete.
- 19:36Speaker 5: They're always like, drop all your machetes. They're like that
- 19:39Speaker 5: one and he lifts it up. Yeah, horset micro always
- 19:47Speaker 5: carrying a micro machete.
- 19:49Speaker 3: But yeah, have either of you been to Southern Asia? No,
- 19:53Speaker 3: it's so wonderful. There is unbelievable.
- 19:57Speaker 5: I've only been to Japan and it was the fantastic,
- 20:00Speaker 5: of course, the best I've been to Thailand's yes, I
- 20:05Speaker 5: forgot got it. You forgot that in Russia. Yeah, it's
- 20:08Speaker 5: been a lot of places you haven't.
- 20:12Speaker 3: You've got very nice vacations.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Look, I've been a few places. I had kids later
- 20:17Speaker 5: than some other people.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Seventy five.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm just old and I like to travel.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And I got the bug, the cruising bug.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Yeah. I love the world, loves the credible good Lord,
- 20:32Speaker 5: he loves it. Cities in six days, yes, please, yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 5: port support six days, nine nights. Don't know how they
- 20:38Speaker 5: do it. It's amazing. All you can see, all you
- 20:41Speaker 5: can eat. I love videos of people being left by
- 20:46Speaker 5: their cruise ships.
- 20:47Speaker 3: And running down the Oh my god, I've never seen.
- 20:49Speaker 5: There's a lot of them. It makes me very happy,
- 20:52Speaker 5: it makes me sad, but I also have never really
- 20:54Speaker 5: followed up and found out what they do at that point, Like, right,
- 20:57Speaker 5: I guess you fly help. You could probably hire a
- 21:02Speaker 5: local chopper pilot. But they're not like landing. I don't
- 21:05Speaker 5: think that has they have all right, yeah on a
- 21:11Speaker 5: thing that they have a fucking go kart track.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Maybe slide, but we have no way to get someone off.
- 21:19Speaker 5: In case of they have a submarine, doc you can
- 21:23Speaker 5: you can come aboard that way. Yeah, they have a
- 21:26Speaker 5: full size arena and a rock climbing walls. They are
- 21:29Speaker 5: really crazy, but we can't get anyone. What about that
- 21:33Speaker 5: is like, let me just pitch as like a special
- 21:35Speaker 5: episode of the podcast, the three of us go on
- 21:38Speaker 5: a cruise. We're doing it. We have to do it.
- 21:41Speaker 5: I feel like I get a budget. Can we get
- 21:43Speaker 5: a sponsor that skyplace will pay for it? Can we
- 21:46Speaker 5: go from the beach in Santa Monica? No, but you
- 21:49Speaker 5: can't know what there is like a three day like
- 21:52Speaker 5: en Sonata cruise. It's like so like Rosa Rito and
- 21:56Speaker 5: Sonata and back and.
- 21:58Speaker 3: The episode will be three days long.
- 22:00Speaker 5: I think we can. I think we keep the tape rolling.
- 22:03Speaker 3: We all have MIC's tape to us.
- 22:04Speaker 5: I think we wear those little headset things and we
- 22:06Speaker 5: just walked around around the Yeah, we're like paradise.
- 22:10Speaker 3: We're in the casino.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Oh my goodness, it would.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Be great here chewing. We're taking in a show, show
- 22:16Speaker 3: after show. World class entertainment.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Yeah. I went on a cruise. When I went on
- 22:22Speaker 5: a cruise when I was uh ten, I believe my
- 22:26Speaker 5: family went on a cruise and the highlight by far
- 22:30Speaker 5: was that the entertainer they would have these like entertainers.
- 22:33Speaker 5: The entertainer on that trip was Susanne Summers. Oh my,
- 22:37Speaker 5: that's that's truly. It was crazy. I was a huge, huge,
- 22:43Speaker 5: huge Three Company fan and I remember seeing her. I
- 22:45Speaker 5: think it was probably like one of the first celebrity
- 22:47Speaker 5: because I grew up and we grew up in Chicago's
- 22:49Speaker 5: not like seeing a lot of celebrities in the gift shop.
- 22:52Speaker 5: And I was absolutely blown away. I thought it was
- 22:55Speaker 5: so cool and what was she doing. She was doing
- 22:57Speaker 5: like a cabaret show. Basically I went to see going
- 23:01Speaker 5: on a cruise today and seeing Julie Bowen, like it's
- 23:06Speaker 5: exactly that's exactly, just as Yeah, I would be blown away.
- 23:10Speaker 5: And because I've still never met any celebrities, I don't
- 23:15Speaker 5: know any I do.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Not anytime you're on set.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, no, please if you're gonna, if you're gonna
- 23:21Speaker 5: be an entertainer on a cruise, then we can talk.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Wow, that must have been. I wonder what was happening
- 23:26Speaker 3: in her career at the time.
- 23:27Speaker 5: It must have been, so it was like definitely post
- 23:31Speaker 5: that show. It was in I was watching Three's Company
- 23:34Speaker 5: and syndication. What's the opposite of a rocket ride? Yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 5: I mean it was a cruise, a cruise, a cruise.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Cruise.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Clearly it's a cruise ride. And so my guess is
- 23:45Speaker 5: like not top of the world if you're cabaret singing
- 23:48Speaker 5: on a or was it considered a luxurious form of
- 23:51Speaker 5: transportation all the time? Was it a was it a
- 23:54Speaker 5: top tier family vacation inspectation? Like she needed to get
- 23:58Speaker 5: from Miami to Saint Thomas. Yeah, they're like, I got
- 24:03Speaker 5: to get home for Christmas. Well you're gonna have to
- 24:05Speaker 5: sing for it, sweetie. She is from Saint Thomas. Yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 5: that actually that actually does Thomas. Mom's going to be
- 24:13Speaker 5: so disappointed. My kids are going to be pizzed. That
- 24:17Speaker 5: is probably what it was. Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, so you caught her between Three's Company and
- 24:22Speaker 3: Step by Step Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 5: Yeah, probably dark days, real pretty exciting. I had. I
- 24:29Speaker 5: bought a sweatshirt, uh souvenir s s Norway sweatshirt that
- 24:33Speaker 5: was one of my favorite garments for Yeah, that's where.
- 24:37Speaker 5: That's where. Yeah, I wrote Susanne Summer underneath. Yeah, in
- 24:42Speaker 5: front of her in my own blood, which for some
- 24:45Speaker 5: reason she thought was weird.
- 24:46Speaker 3: She loved us, not her off for me.
- 24:49Speaker 5: She was like, come home to Saint Thomas and big kid.
- 24:51Speaker 5: It was that that gave her the courage to go
- 24:53Speaker 5: back to Hollywood. Yeah you sorry, so old child. Writing
- 24:59Speaker 5: her name on a sweatshirt in blood as an acrostic,
- 25:03Speaker 5: as an acrosstic on the way to Saint Thomas, to
- 25:05Speaker 5: her childhood home made her be like I should go
- 25:09Speaker 5: back to holl Yeah. She was like super depressed. She
- 25:11Speaker 5: was like, I'm just a crucibles, no doubt any children
- 25:15Speaker 5: how to spell no one, no one under eleven celebrities.
- 25:19Speaker 5: There's no pens around here. Who's going to write my name?
- 25:21Speaker 5: I mean, come on, how's he going to do it?
- 25:23Speaker 3: Things couldn't get worse.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Her voice is insane in our mind, by the way, anyway.
- 25:28Speaker 3: She drives a dump try.
- 25:32Speaker 5: She does.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Well, there's something else we've got to talk about. We
- 25:35Speaker 3: just absolutely have to talk about. You know, as we
- 25:38Speaker 3: were talking earlier, you two have been begging to be
- 25:41Speaker 3: on the podcast four years, to the point of I mean,
- 25:45Speaker 3: it is really sad.
- 25:48Speaker 5: If you don't ask, I'm not proud of it. But
- 25:50Speaker 5: here we are. So look at us now.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Uh so you're clearly familiar with the title of the show.
- 25:56Speaker 3: I said, no gifts. You agreed to be on the
- 25:59Speaker 3: show after I kindkind of finally just relented, and I thought,
- 26:03Speaker 3: it'll be fine. They'll come by and we'll get it done,
- 26:05Speaker 3: and maybe we'll delete the audio. I don't know, maybe
- 26:08Speaker 3: we'll just not even records, send them home.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah, supposed it doesn't really matter.
- 26:14Speaker 7: As long as we're here, guys, I think, like the
- 26:16Speaker 7: walls are going to wheel away this whole play, We're
- 26:18Speaker 7: going to come back.
- 26:19Speaker 5: We swear there was a studio here. I mean, it's
- 26:21Speaker 5: certainly deep enough in Burbank that it could be fake.
- 26:23Speaker 3: It could easily be fake. This could be part of
- 26:25Speaker 3: that new Scare prank.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Show.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Ye.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Absolutely, I would love that. We've been begging to be
- 26:29Speaker 5: on that show too. Oh yeah, if you know, if
- 26:32Speaker 5: you know anyone, By the way, we've been banging our.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Phone number on this for people to call in if
- 26:38Speaker 3: they know someone that can get us on a scare
- 26:40Speaker 3: Prink show.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Please, I'll leave my contacts in the description. He can
- 26:45Speaker 5: I do that.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I don't know how that works. I think you can
- 26:47Speaker 3: put those in the descriptions. We'll put your personal.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Phone number, we put my home address, maybe your wife's
- 26:52Speaker 5: phone number.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Here.
- 26:54Speaker 5: Yeah, right right, yeah, we're all pointing. We're all pointing down.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Smash that email button immediately.
- 27:01Speaker 3: It's a subscribe. Okay, now this feels like a distraction.
- 27:06Speaker 3: You brought a gift to my podcast. Yeah, a gorgeous gift.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Kind of a tan envelope, says Bridger, not even centered
- 27:14Speaker 3: in the middle of the envelope.
- 27:15Speaker 5: Okay, clear this was written in the dark. I'm not sure, okay,
- 27:19Speaker 5: or like driving, Yeah, maybe using a steering wheel as
- 27:24Speaker 5: a table. I mean, I wouldn't.
- 27:27Speaker 3: I don't even have to ask. I assume this is
- 27:28Speaker 3: a gift for me.
- 27:29Speaker 5: It is a gift for you. We just I know
- 27:32Speaker 5: it's a you know obviously the title, but we just
- 27:34Speaker 5: felt like, look, we've worked together, we're now, you know,
- 27:37Speaker 5: more than colleagues, were friends. We wanted to show our
- 27:41Speaker 5: deep gratitude for you as a as a colleague, as
- 27:44Speaker 5: a friend, and as a host by bringing something. You know,
- 27:49Speaker 5: it was the least we could do.
- 27:51Speaker 3: It was okay, I agree. Well let me get into
- 27:58Speaker 3: it here. Let's open it's near the mike.
- 28:01Speaker 5: The telltale ripping of the Yeah you caught an envelope. Yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 5: you really sealed it. Yeah, that's the thick.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Okay, Oh, what could this card possibly be for? So?
- 28:20Speaker 3: The card says I was really hoping this would turn
- 28:22Speaker 3: out different. And it's kind of a pretty car.
- 28:24Speaker 5: It's a nice card. H So much does it say inside?
- 28:29Speaker 3: This is such a says I'm so sorry. I know
- 28:32Speaker 3: how much this meant to you.
- 28:35Speaker 5: What is this card for? Okay? What wait? No, we
- 28:40Speaker 5: have to talk about the card.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Let's talk about this car for something else in here?
- 28:43Speaker 5: But okay, so why don't we do this? How about you?
- 28:45Speaker 5: How about you guess? Yeah? What do you think?
- 28:48Speaker 2: Well?
- 28:48Speaker 5: This could possibly that? What category? You're in CBS and
- 28:52Speaker 5: you're looking at all the different there's just because I.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Know how much this meant to you. I mean, I
- 28:59Speaker 3: would get it's like not getting a job or something.
- 29:02Speaker 5: That's a pretty good guess. That's a great gus. Not correct.
- 29:05Speaker 5: Think about something a little bit heavier, a little bit more,
- 29:08Speaker 5: a little a little bit more serious.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Is this that somebody died?
- 29:12Speaker 5: Not exactly depending on where what side of the aisle
- 29:16Speaker 5: you're on. How about this? I took a picture of this, okay,
- 29:20Speaker 5: because I didn't think that anyone would actually believe me.
- 29:23Speaker 3: So I'm going to show you what it says. And
- 29:25Speaker 3: then you infertility. Oh my god, this is such a
- 29:31Speaker 3: weird category. It's certainly not like a conversation you have
- 29:35Speaker 3: with close flints. No, you just want somebody a car
- 29:39Speaker 3: to drive all so.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Overplex do you go there looking for that card where
- 29:43Speaker 5: you're like, oh, all right, I see Valentine's Day. You
- 29:46Speaker 5: guys don't have infertility, do you.
- 29:49Speaker 3: This is such a personal, intimate conversation you have.
- 29:52Speaker 5: It's unbelievable. Also say like, I know you were hoping
- 29:55Speaker 5: it would turn out differently. Of course, Yeah no, no, no,
- 30:00Speaker 5: that's really card.
- 30:03Speaker 3: You were.
- 30:04Speaker 5: It's also like not something that you like, Let's just
- 30:07Speaker 5: say a man is infertile like you are. There's nothing
- 30:10Speaker 5: to reverse it necessary, right, Like, that's it.
- 30:13Speaker 3: This is not your boss is not buying this card.
- 30:16Speaker 3: You know, it's not like someone you have a cold
- 30:18Speaker 3: relationship with.
- 30:19Speaker 5: This, it's not a casual acquaintance. It's also wildly inappropriate
- 30:25Speaker 5: for your spouse, because that would be the person you
- 30:27Speaker 5: truly share this sadness with.
- 30:29Speaker 3: To get you a greeting card, you'd be like, why
- 30:31Speaker 3: why the marriage? It's like, I thought you hope this
- 30:34Speaker 3: marriage would turn out different, right, Yeah.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Well yes, I thought I would someone who could give
- 30:38Speaker 5: me kicks, who wouldn't buy me cards. The trajectory of
- 30:42Speaker 5: the marriage has has gone south. Now everything I thought
- 30:45Speaker 5: was gonna happen with my life is now different. Card
- 30:49Speaker 5: came in. I spent three ninety nine at CVS. I
- 30:53Speaker 5: think they're hoping that because obviously I don't. I can't
- 30:56Speaker 5: imagine anyone's going looking for it. I think they put
- 30:58Speaker 5: it in a place like where between like birthday and
- 31:01Speaker 5: bar Mitz or something where there's I saw someone who's infertilesing,
- 31:06Speaker 5: you know what I mean? It was right at eye level.
- 31:08Speaker 5: I think it's one of those where they want you
- 31:10Speaker 5: to see it when you're in there for something else,
- 31:12Speaker 5: and then when you encounter an infertility diagnosis, you know
- 31:17Speaker 5: that there's a I.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Don't have social skills right, and you're a complete.
- 31:23Speaker 5: And you want your marriage or your partnership to end immediately.
- 31:27Speaker 5: You present that person with a card who's been just
- 31:30Speaker 5: given devastating news, you're profoundly emotionally. That being said, I
- 31:35Speaker 5: do think a card that you send someone for like
- 31:38Speaker 5: a death, it's almost like even more common, were far
- 31:42Speaker 5: more common. Yeah, So like I think it's that is touching.
- 31:44Speaker 5: I mean that can be nice.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Well, with the death you can find out in the newspaper, yes, exactly,
- 31:48Speaker 3: but you're not finding out someone I usually which well
- 31:51Speaker 3: you haven't.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Read if you haven't read my circular. He likes to
- 31:54Speaker 5: go to go out with the bank. Yeah yeah remember her?
- 32:02Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you guessed it. Yeah.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I would love to see more cards in this category.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Nice thing about that card and the reason that it
- 32:11Speaker 5: wasn't just for the gag, but I also thought it
- 32:14Speaker 5: probably would apply to our performance on the podcast. Right,
- 32:18Speaker 5: of course, that's the nice thing. I'm going home in
- 32:23Speaker 5: a rage, almost driving off the road. You just look
- 32:27Speaker 5: at that glance on your front seat see and you're like,
- 32:32Speaker 5: that was sweet.
- 32:32Speaker 3: You know what, They gave it their best. We all
- 32:35Speaker 3: tried to.
- 32:36Speaker 5: You're certainly throwing a scarf around yourself in a haste
- 32:40Speaker 5: as you drive off without.
- 32:42Speaker 3: A Okay, well should we get into what's happening here?
- 32:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's my order for thirty dollars. Yes, and it
- 32:54Speaker 3: says a memo podcast that's appropriate. I okay, so you
- 32:57Speaker 3: just wanted to pay who and or what is being
- 33:00Speaker 3: paid AGAs a transaction.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Again, it's not a pay to play thing for being
- 33:07Speaker 5: on the podcast. Again, I thought take it as a bride.
- 33:10Speaker 5: We thought a little a little check would help soften
- 33:14Speaker 5: again the blow of probably a lackluster Well, if this.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Cuts out to other other people, they're going to try
- 33:19Speaker 3: paying thirty dollars to get on the podcast.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Okay, so we're gonna have a flood by the way, Yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 5: I mean that's not a terrible thing. You said that.
- 33:28Speaker 5: I definitely won't end up in your closet. I would
- 33:30Speaker 5: imagine this is.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Thirty dollars worth of cocaine.
- 33:39Speaker 5: That's got to click. I know your night's gonna go.
- 33:43Speaker 5: It's gonna be amazing.
- 33:46Speaker 3: What so, what was the thought behind this.
- 33:49Speaker 5: I just wanted, you know, I think we were just
- 33:51Speaker 5: thinking something that you I mean, we've listened to a
- 33:54Speaker 5: lot of the uh, and it seems like many people
- 33:58Speaker 5: do disobey you. Sure, uh and it felt like you
- 34:02Speaker 5: have a lot of stuff. This way you can buy
- 34:05Speaker 5: yourself something that you really need. Yeah, really want something
- 34:09Speaker 5: skydiving thing, you know, by the way, I mean, it's
- 34:11Speaker 5: I don't can I say. It seems like now that
- 34:15Speaker 5: you're almost at a point on this podcast where you're
- 34:17Speaker 5: soliciting things that you want people to give you. Like
- 34:21Speaker 5: you were like it's like skydiving just happened to come up,
- 34:24Speaker 5: or you're like, we.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Should maybe you should brainstorm things.
- 34:27Speaker 5: We nightstand a single night stand, just one night stand
- 34:36Speaker 5: that's pushed up against the wall in your guest room
- 34:38Speaker 5: where you often sleep in a rage. Maybe keep them
- 34:44Speaker 5: there to uh keep the card in there?
- 34:47Speaker 3: You did you go to the post office together?
- 34:49Speaker 5: I went to the post office. Is a huge I
- 34:51Speaker 5: went to I went to the post officey, this was
- 34:54Speaker 5: not it was on the way. I did walk in
- 34:57Speaker 5: to the Studio City post Office. Shout out Janice for
- 35:02Speaker 5: the best.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Uh.
- 35:03Speaker 5: It was completely empty, and so I would I would
- 35:06Speaker 5: have gotten mad if that. The bit was I had
- 35:08Speaker 5: to wait for two hours to get a postal money
- 35:11Speaker 5: order because I was pot committed by then. There's no
- 35:13Speaker 5: I parked. I was there. We're getting that that money order. Yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 5: this is and I just honestly, the real reason I
- 35:19Speaker 5: got the money order is I thought you would not
- 35:22Speaker 5: believe that we could pass a real check.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, of course I would have had to.
- 35:28Speaker 5: Cash back cash it is and again counterfeit.
- 35:37Speaker 3: The hologram band.
- 35:39Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying. Yeah, I know how you are,
- 35:41Speaker 5: and I have written you some bad checks in the past,
- 35:44Speaker 5: but that that's a.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Pretty bad situation.
- 35:47Speaker 5: Not good. I've given you a counterfeit biller.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Who has handed at Target. I was just trying to
- 35:55Speaker 3: do a grocery trip and suddenly.
- 35:59Speaker 5: Called off in to Target jail. Yeah, we paid your
- 36:01Speaker 5: script fee in cash. Remember that one time? I thought
- 36:04Speaker 5: that was funny. Well, you go throwed a bunch of
- 36:06Speaker 5: stuff for us, a bunch of our scripts, and all paid.
- 36:09Speaker 5: It was a fake Samsonit briefcase, by the way, not
- 36:15Speaker 5: even the suitcase. Remember it just fell into dust and
- 36:17Speaker 5: just turned into dust but exploded.
- 36:21Speaker 3: That was the only thing you would spend money on.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Quality so weird because you think we didn't rob a bank.
- 36:26Speaker 5: We literally made counterfeit money and then put die packs
- 36:29Speaker 5: in for no reason, just just just for the funny.
- 36:33Speaker 5: So when you opened it up to get your script fee,
- 36:35Speaker 5: it exploded in your face and died your face blue.
- 36:38Speaker 5: For it was several weeks, it was. It was weak.
- 36:41Speaker 3: I had to I was out of the public eye
- 36:42Speaker 3: for at least a month, ordering in.
- 36:46Speaker 5: So and then trying to pay in cash and getting
- 36:48Speaker 5: beaten up by delivery people.
- 36:49Speaker 3: It was bad, just snowballing.
- 36:51Speaker 5: So anyway, so you understand now why the money order.
- 36:55Speaker 3: What is a money order for at this point of time,
- 36:59Speaker 3: what are we.
- 37:00Speaker 5: I would imagine it's a it's the equivalent of like
- 37:03Speaker 5: a cashier's check, just to prove that it's like actual
- 37:05Speaker 5: real So I'd imagine like if you're putting a deposit
- 37:08Speaker 5: on an apartment or something that require you can pay
- 37:12Speaker 5: I don't know taxes with it. I'm not I'm not
- 37:15Speaker 5: really sure. I think honestly. Now, mostly it's for gifts
- 37:19Speaker 5: for podcast hosts. I think it's like I think that's
- 37:21Speaker 5: like it's number one currency.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Viral giving money orders to podcast.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Host I gave a podcast House of Money Order.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Forty million views TV deal.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean they're making a lot of money. They
- 37:37Speaker 5: don't make any money on it. Oh, no, they do.
- 37:39Speaker 5: They make two two thirty five, So just wait for
- 37:42Speaker 5: the post office makes it. It's a two thirty two
- 37:44Speaker 5: dollars and thirty five cent fee.
- 37:45Speaker 3: So you have to pay thirty two dollars for this
- 37:47Speaker 3: thirty two fifty? How old fashion of them.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I paid the two to fifty. Then you said
- 37:53Speaker 5: I think I got to fifty on it. Yeah. I
- 37:55Speaker 5: was like, okay, I'll just I'll put up the thirty.
- 37:57Speaker 5: That's fine, I'll get the card too. Fought tooth and
- 38:00Speaker 5: nail against this. I was like, I can scram something
- 38:03Speaker 5: in my house for free. I have soup.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Like a lot of past guests, it's fake. It's fake
- 38:10Speaker 3: grabbing at things on their way out of the house.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Sure has that ever happened on this show? Or it's
- 38:15Speaker 5: very obvious?
- 38:16Speaker 3: I mean we have, I mean guests frequently say well
- 38:18Speaker 3: I saw this, Yeah, got it in my in my apartment. Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 3: like I had to get rid of this that kind
- 38:24Speaker 3: of thing.
- 38:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw this and thought of you. It's a
- 38:27Speaker 5: preas floor mat, very dirty, very very filthy.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Well, now I've got to think about thirty dollars things
- 38:35Speaker 3: that i'd like to buy.
- 38:36Speaker 5: Well, you know, you don't have to only spend it
- 38:38Speaker 5: on thirty dollars things.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Well, but that's why you don't know me for god, Okay, okay,
- 38:44Speaker 3: So if a cent more, I'll feel like my day's rude.
- 38:47Speaker 5: I'd like, Oh, they got me to spend more money.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Not easy, okay, got oh. I think it's I think
- 38:53Speaker 5: it's a reasonably priced entree.
- 38:55Speaker 3: It is a recently Yeah, it's like a reasonable meal
- 38:57Speaker 3: at a you know, diner.
- 39:00Speaker 5: But it's like a chicken parmesan at John and Vinnie's,
- 39:05Speaker 5: like twenty seven and then you and.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Then they build the tip in.
- 39:09Speaker 5: That's how John and Vinnie get you. Yeah, that's how
- 39:11Speaker 5: they get you.
- 39:12Speaker 3: They're yeah, because they build the tip in. And then
- 39:14Speaker 3: I also say you need to tip right.
- 39:16Speaker 5: No, I don't do it anymore. Oh okay, yeah, right, public.
- 39:19Speaker 3: There was a situation.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Yeah, you'll have to go to the bank and deposit it.
- 39:26Speaker 5: It creates a little work. Yeah, it's because then you'll
- 39:30Speaker 5: get your money, but you'll have to work for it.
- 39:32Speaker 5: But I also like that then you'll think about us
- 39:34Speaker 5: when you're like, why do I have to go to
- 39:36Speaker 5: the bank to do this thing? And then you'll spend
- 39:38Speaker 5: your You'll find your entree and you'll be excited.
- 39:41Speaker 3: Because we are you kidding me?
- 39:43Speaker 5: You do need to, I mean, you don't have to,
- 39:45Speaker 5: but I'd love you to keep us posted on like what.
- 39:48Speaker 3: You'll find out what I buy? I mean, I'll have
- 39:49Speaker 3: to post about it on Instagram. Listeners are going to
- 39:51Speaker 3: demand what thirty dollars item?
- 39:53Speaker 5: And not to brag.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Just yesterday, I opened an envelope at home. I got
- 39:57Speaker 3: thirty five dollars from a sewage class action lawsuits.
- 40:01Speaker 5: Wow, I don't even know what was happening. Can you
- 40:02Speaker 5: actively take part in it?
- 40:04Speaker 3: Apparently it was happening to me, and that's all that
- 40:06Speaker 3: had to happen. They gave us all thirty.
- 40:08Speaker 5: Five Really living your Aaron Brockovich moment, fighting injustice in
- 40:14Speaker 5: the sewage industry. That's amazing. To the sewers ship cluster,
- 40:20Speaker 5: I know it. It smells paramo everywhere in this whole
- 40:25Speaker 5: block smells bad. I know, let's sue immediately.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Let's not even look into it.
- 40:30Speaker 5: We don't need to start doing You don't need to
- 40:33Speaker 5: do any of the tests. It's none of the records.
- 40:36Speaker 5: Just follow your nose. They didn't even really put up
- 40:39Speaker 5: a fight. It wasn't dramatic at all. They're like, all right, sure,
- 40:42Speaker 5: here's someone high.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Hell literally, yeah, I've so now I've got sixty five
- 40:47Speaker 3: dollars to my name.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Wow.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, and one of them was able I was
- 40:52Speaker 3: able to deposit electronically.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Oh you can do that too, Yes, of course, I'm
- 40:56Speaker 5: sure you will be able to.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Oh I think this actually, I wonder if you can
- 41:00Speaker 3: deposit of money order electronically.
- 41:02Speaker 5: You know what you could do is you could go
- 41:04Speaker 5: what if you went to the post office and just
- 41:05Speaker 5: bought thirty dollars worth of stamps.
- 41:07Speaker 3: That's actually not a bad you.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Know what I mean, Like you're bringing it back. It's
- 41:10Speaker 5: kind of full over the post office.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I can get the stamps I actually want.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Finally, Yeah, because you sign up for that mystery box
- 41:19Speaker 5: and that's been a.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Whole pain, very offensive staff.
- 41:22Speaker 5: You never know what you're gonna get. How can those
- 41:24Speaker 5: be real? Some of those I genuinely don't understand. I
- 41:28Speaker 5: really don't understand. I love when people at the post
- 41:30Speaker 5: office take so long to decide what stamps they want.
- 41:34Speaker 5: Of course, caboos. It's caboos. Wait no, no, no, no, no,
- 41:40Speaker 5: no no no no no no, no no no no. Heart,
- 41:45Speaker 5: that's the van.
- 41:46Speaker 3: You should be designing.
- 41:47Speaker 5: Stamps. They usual American flag, which I think is like
- 41:50Speaker 5: this default, the standard. Yeah. I just made both of those.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Up right off the top of your head, right, that's
- 41:56Speaker 3: amazing stamps.
- 41:59Speaker 5: That's crazy, that is insane. That's really good.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Uh well, I'll have to. I mean, we could brainstorm
- 42:06Speaker 3: thirty dollars things now other than dinner. Let's say I
- 42:09Speaker 3: could buy a decent shirt.
- 42:12Speaker 5: What decent shirt?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Are you kidding me? I could find a lot of
- 42:16Speaker 3: decent shirts. Okay, shirts, probably a T shirt ultimately, but yeah, okay,
- 42:22Speaker 3: like a.
- 42:22Speaker 5: T shirt you could buy. I feel like a pair
- 42:27Speaker 5: of socks, like sandals.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Sandals, probably socks and sandals.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Nor classic. That's insane. It is a classic, classic combo.
- 42:36Speaker 5: This climate it's getting, it's getting, it'll turn turn. Oh
- 42:41Speaker 5: you're not talking politically, you're actually talking in this climate. Yes,
- 42:45Speaker 5: actually breathe.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Oh got it because you used to be political. No, no, no, no,
- 42:52Speaker 3: I'm also surprised.
- 42:53Speaker 2: You do not.
- 42:53Speaker 5: I was like, no, do not, get don't go there.
- 42:56Speaker 5: I've never been said, don't go there. I don't believe
- 42:58Speaker 5: in talking about it very person I don't play politics.
- 43:03Speaker 5: I don't talk about politics. There's nothing happening that I'm
- 43:06Speaker 5: aware of right now that makes us like feel like
- 43:10Speaker 5: we should talk about it. I think it doesn't affect me,
- 43:13Speaker 5: like I'm chilling, and I think a lot of people
- 43:17Speaker 5: like his political stances, like I'm gonna be fine, you.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Know what I mean.
- 43:21Speaker 5: I think that that's I'm gonna be fine. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 5: like doesn't matter. Let them fight it out, like I'll
- 43:27Speaker 5: be through it. I'm gonna eat. Yeah, you know, I'm
- 43:30Speaker 5: gonna buy sandals and I'm gonna wear socks with them.
- 43:32Speaker 5: We'll throw around thirty dollars like it's thirty two to fifties.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Put as much of a fee on it as you want,
- 43:38Speaker 5: because I'm still buying it. It's like a half a joke.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Well, this is a this is a trip to the
- 43:43Speaker 3: po or to the bank for me. Yeah, I have,
- 43:45Speaker 3: you know, I have my bank I go to. It
- 43:48Speaker 3: feels like a very old fashioned feels like it is
- 43:50Speaker 3: one that could be robbed at any point. Why is
- 43:52Speaker 3: that just No, it's like a very old school bank.
- 43:54Speaker 3: I think it's like probably been there for one hundred
- 43:56Speaker 3: years or something. They've obviously updated a little bit, but
- 43:59Speaker 3: there's something about it. When you walk in, You're like,
- 44:00Speaker 3: someone's certainly going to come in with a gun.
- 44:03Speaker 5: Right, it sounds like it's you. You're going to go.
- 44:06Speaker 3: I think somebody should come in with the gun. This
- 44:09Speaker 3: is the place to do it.
- 44:10Speaker 5: Like, I've written down the security guards walking patterns, so
- 44:16Speaker 5: this is really starting to look I know that the
- 44:19Speaker 5: manager is a drinking problem, so I've got that figured out.
- 44:23Speaker 5: Security guard watch is shark tank.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Just like clockwork deafening vault.
- 44:30Speaker 5: You've got a dry cleaning van that you are you
- 44:31Speaker 5: still driving around that dry cleaning van.
- 44:33Speaker 3: That you've got a new one one?
- 44:35Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, yeah, nice. Well, look I robbed a few banks.
- 44:40Speaker 3: You gotta you gotta spend money to make money.
- 44:42Speaker 5: That would be the dream I would love if that
- 44:45Speaker 5: was your story, if you rob banks.
- 44:49Speaker 3: I'd be delighted to be able to just like if
- 44:51Speaker 3: you could tell everyone, or like tell one person like listen,
- 44:54Speaker 3: this is just kind of a joke and then get
- 44:56Speaker 3: to do it, yeah, and then be like, well tell him.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I was kidding a million. Everybody was kidding phenomenal. I
- 45:01Speaker 3: would love that.
- 45:02Speaker 5: I think they would take kindly to that.
- 45:05Speaker 8: Hey it's a big come on, have a sense of
- 45:09Speaker 8: humor so sensitive? Oh my god, shell something dragged?
- 45:17Speaker 5: I love it. I hope we do it. What if
- 45:20Speaker 5: we robbed the casino or like the bank wherever they
- 45:25Speaker 5: store all the money on our cruise?
- 45:27Speaker 3: Oh as part of the podcast record?
- 45:29Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, like Bridges three? Yeah, eleven is much much worse,
- 45:37Speaker 5: way more boring and stupid.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Take that.
- 45:43Speaker 5: Wait, sorry, you think it would be smarter.
- 45:45Speaker 3: It would be smarter, It would only be sexier. Yes,
- 45:49Speaker 3: it would have way more panache if the panash would
- 45:51Speaker 3: be through the room.
- 45:53Speaker 5: What about the what about the off camera pranks? Would
- 45:55Speaker 5: they be better?
- 45:56Speaker 3: Oh my god, look who you're talking to? The original pranks? Sir?
- 46:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I sat down on a thumb tack. Oh wow,
- 46:04Speaker 5: it's still in you. I really thought I had guess
- 46:06Speaker 5: it was a whoop because it was unbelievable. Yeah, it
- 46:11Speaker 5: was amazing, all right, So may I take it back?
- 46:13Speaker 5: That is that should be our move? Yeah, that's the move.
- 46:16Speaker 5: You go on a three day cruise. What day do
- 46:19Speaker 5: you think you rob on? You can't one? As soon
- 46:23Speaker 5: as you get on that you walked straight. You walk
- 46:29Speaker 5: straight to the bank on the cruise shah because there's
- 46:32Speaker 5: probably a t yeah exactly, they have to and then
- 46:35Speaker 5: you hide in plain sight sight. O interesting. What if
- 46:39Speaker 5: we did, like what if we did like an inside
- 46:41Speaker 5: man type of thing, Oh, cruise for like years. That's good.
- 46:50Speaker 5: The wall of like some just like in the like
- 46:53Speaker 5: inside no window. You're like in the walking fridge that
- 46:56Speaker 5: you've built in the walking fridge. Rockets of course got it.
- 47:02Speaker 3: So it's a false walk in fridge and so many
- 47:04Speaker 3: milkshakes and all.
- 47:06Speaker 5: You can drink. Well, I think it's fucking built out
- 47:09Speaker 5: of cardboard. I think did silver. The thing we're doing
- 47:12Speaker 5: is all the food. We're running a line though to
- 47:14Speaker 5: the milkshake machine so we can drink it like we
- 47:17Speaker 5: have our own tap. That's the only thing we can drink.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Just out of a crazy straw, the three of.
- 47:22Speaker 5: Us just passing it back and forth for years on
- 47:25Speaker 5: the open water.
- 47:26Speaker 3: That almost feels like the right idea for a movie.
- 47:28Speaker 5: It feels like, I mean, we're definitely closing in on something.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Bridges three is dancing with the diabetes devil in a
- 47:36Speaker 5: crazy way. But I guess is there a version where
- 47:38Speaker 5: you know, I think you're right first day, because if
- 47:40Speaker 5: you went third day maybe you could. Or you did
- 47:44Speaker 5: it right before you got off in Insonada and then
- 47:46Speaker 5: just disappeared into Mexico.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Right you get off on one of those busy ports.
- 47:51Speaker 5: That's wearing sunglasses and chasing you is going the opposite
- 47:56Speaker 5: way of the flo You're calmly walking off in disguise.
- 48:00Speaker 5: As the police arrive, you know what I mean. They
- 48:03Speaker 5: come in and then you're walking off. The camera. Obviously
- 48:06Speaker 5: we go to like a crane shot as we walk
- 48:08Speaker 5: in down Son and you realize we have to live
- 48:10Speaker 5: there for years and years. The ultimate life is lindsay,
- 48:14Speaker 5: I'll send for you. Yep. Yeah, she has to take
- 48:18Speaker 5: the same cruise. Yes, it's the only way. He's going
- 48:21Speaker 5: to retrace our steps. And she's gonna like be knocking
- 48:23Speaker 5: on like the wall of the walk in realizing that
- 48:26Speaker 5: it's a fall she's doing like she's just doing the
- 48:29Speaker 5: walk in fridge equivalent of it's a man baby, Yeah
- 48:31Speaker 5: to every fridd she's every friend.
- 48:34Speaker 3: It's not a fridge baby.
- 48:38Speaker 5: Yes, this isn't a French baby. It's not everyone's like
- 48:45Speaker 5: you're offending every fridge here. It's so rude, so rude.
- 48:50Speaker 5: It's so rude. Do I make That's what she says
- 48:54Speaker 5: to the milkshake machines.
- 48:56Speaker 3: It's in the Austin Power step.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Type of investigator. Investigative. I'll tell you. Lindsay is an
- 49:02Speaker 5: amazing detective. She gets very Austin Powers when she when
- 49:06Speaker 5: she investigates stuff, it is it is wild. Yeah, it's wild.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Austin Powers was kind of an I mean, he was
- 49:12Speaker 3: a spy, but also more of an investigator. He was.
- 49:15Speaker 5: He straddled.
- 49:15Speaker 3: I think he was getting in there and you know,
- 49:17Speaker 3: pulling wigs off and doing that kind of thing.
- 49:20Speaker 5: Of course it's tough to Yeah, I guess the line
- 49:22Speaker 5: is fuzzy. I guess between like international, well, he was
- 49:25Speaker 5: an international man of mystery, was his.
- 49:28Speaker 3: That sort of is like a pretty big umbrella name.
- 49:32Speaker 3: He could do truly anything he wants anything.
- 49:34Speaker 5: I mean, I think the movies. I think the Three
- 49:36Speaker 5: Movies proved that. Yeah, right in the way. Also, I
- 49:40Speaker 5: think so in only in only the best he could
- 49:43Speaker 5: even do the British accent anymore. Now in the in
- 49:47Speaker 5: uh in this speaking of I mean political anymore, I
- 49:51Speaker 5: can't do anything British. I mean, he was doing British
- 49:55Speaker 5: and Scottish. I mean, are you kidding me?
- 49:58Speaker 3: Get away?
- 49:59Speaker 5: I believe that we watched that movie and last yeah
- 50:02Speaker 5: day trying to cancel him.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Anybody see this.
- 50:06Speaker 5: Clip of dance needs the same film, just different clips.
- 50:11Speaker 5: Everything he says isn't in a British accident. Oh so
- 50:15Speaker 5: I can't play this, but he can put on the teeth. Okay, okay,
- 50:18Speaker 5: all right, bald cap. He remember he played doctor eating.
- 50:22Speaker 5: He does the Lord Michael's voice. That's Canadian. It's Canadian.
- 50:26Speaker 5: So he's doing it is crazy, It is wild. I'm
- 50:30Speaker 5: staying out of the shot. I'm saying he's he's Mike
- 50:34Speaker 5: Myer to I mean, full disclosure is attached to it.
- 50:36Speaker 5: One of Daniel's projects, several actually, each of them each literally,
- 50:43Speaker 5: and that's why he doesn't want to say anything because
- 50:45Speaker 5: all of them it's like Mike Myers and Mike Myers
- 50:48Speaker 5: and Mike Myers. He's pumping. We don't know what the
- 50:56Speaker 5: Maybe you can help us with this. Honestly, this is
- 50:58Speaker 5: a great idea. What none know what. We don't even
- 51:00Speaker 5: have the audio. We know that there's a dinner scene,
- 51:03Speaker 5: and we know that the camera moves around to each
- 51:06Speaker 5: person and they say something crazy and each one is
- 51:10Speaker 5: a Mike Myers. But we don't know where the movie goes.
- 51:13Speaker 5: We don't know what it's about.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Attached, He is attached. He is attached based on that pitch.
- 51:21Speaker 3: That's all it took.
- 51:21Speaker 5: That is all solid gold when you're us, Yeah, that
- 51:26Speaker 5: proven it does for it. You have the idea, we
- 51:28Speaker 5: have the idea. We have the IP. I mean we're
- 51:30Speaker 5: calling it IP. It's a dinner scene where he plays
- 51:33Speaker 5: nineteen carecter. By the way, it's a it's like a graduation,
- 51:37Speaker 5: like it's a big event. It's a banquet. It's a
- 51:39Speaker 5: banquet table and he plays nineteen characters one of the tables,
- 51:45Speaker 5: another table strangers, different strangers to each other, by the way,
- 51:49Speaker 5: to nineteen person tables. That's just that's just in that timeline. Yeah,
- 51:55Speaker 5: there's a multi yes in that timeline. Yeah, there's a
- 51:59Speaker 5: poor all to a much bigger dinner. Yes, somewhere else,
- 52:03Speaker 5: much bigger. It's I'm gonna give you a hint. I
- 52:06Speaker 5: think we just cracked it. It's in the with the
- 52:08Speaker 5: walk In. Oh goes through the walk In investigating a
- 52:12Speaker 5: cruise robbery with his partner Lindsay played by Daniel's wife
- 52:16Speaker 5: as herself.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:17Speaker 3: And then this is a spinoff of Bridgers three.
- 52:20Speaker 5: This is it's inspired. I think it's a prequel. Oh,
- 52:23Speaker 5: it's a three. Yeah, we're gonna have to cut him in.
- 52:26Speaker 5: It's a prequel. Yeah, you know what. The money and
- 52:32Speaker 5: we'll figure all right, give us the thirty and you're in. Yeah, slide.
- 52:36Speaker 5: Everyone is bought in for thirty.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Yeah, thirty dollars. I think that that's typically how these deals.
- 52:40Speaker 5: Thirty dollars in a greed in car. You know we
- 52:41Speaker 5: won that. That attachment feed didn't read about that in
- 52:44Speaker 5: the strike, of course.
- 52:45Speaker 3: The attachment Yes, I thought for that very hard. That
- 52:49Speaker 3: was my sign, the attachment feed. Yeahs walk for free.
- 52:55Speaker 3: That's what screw you, studios. I never want to work
- 52:58Speaker 3: for you.
- 52:58Speaker 5: Again without an attachment I thought that was smart.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Uh.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna take this and spend it. I'm to
- 53:05Speaker 3: put it towards something very important. Probably I'll probably spiral
- 53:09Speaker 3: for days trying to think of what I'm gonna buy.
- 53:10Speaker 5: I would only hope, and I honestly I feel bad now.
- 53:15Speaker 5: I should have thought that you this would be a disaster.
- 53:18Speaker 3: For this would just be days of my busy, busy line.
- 53:21Speaker 5: The other bit I did think would The other gift
- 53:24Speaker 5: that we were considering was a horse.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Oh okay, well there's always a second episode.
- 53:29Speaker 5: Okay, well there is after that gift. Well, I was
- 53:31Speaker 5: gonna say, I feel like if that doesn't get us back,
- 53:34Speaker 5: I don't know what will.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Well, if I hear the sound of a horse over
- 53:38Speaker 3: a phone, I'll consider if you hear the telltale clomping,
- 53:42Speaker 3: yes of a horse, a little bit of a winnie
- 53:45Speaker 3: in the background as we're chatting, look behind you.
- 53:48Speaker 5: Yeah, during the during the pre interview, it would be
- 53:52Speaker 5: great if we went out into the parking lot and
- 53:54Speaker 5: we walked out together and I was on horseback. If
- 53:59Speaker 5: we sent a and it was like hey, parrotts, yeah,
- 54:04Speaker 5: sugar cube, goga cubes, a stall and then there is
- 54:10Speaker 5: no horse. You do eat all, just ride Daniel it
- 54:14Speaker 5: bridle whip. Yeah.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Well, I think we should play a game. Okay, We're
- 54:20Speaker 3: gonna play a game called Gift or a Curse. And
- 54:22Speaker 3: I need a number between one and ten from you two.
- 54:25Speaker 5: From we combined decide on Yeah, you got damn six. Okay.
- 54:33Speaker 3: I have to do some light calculating to get our
- 54:35Speaker 3: game pieces. So right now you can promote, recommend, do
- 54:38Speaker 3: whatever you want with the microphone.
- 54:39Speaker 5: I'll be right back, got it. What do we want
- 54:42Speaker 5: to promote? Well, we recently made a show called mister
- 54:45Speaker 5: Throwback we did, which is on the Peacock streaming platform.
- 54:49Speaker 5: It's available everywhere that Peacock is available. Everywhere that you
- 54:53Speaker 5: have Peacock. It's also available there. Get Peacock and then
- 54:56Speaker 5: you can have the show. It's it's a fun show.
- 54:59Speaker 5: Stars Stephen Curry, the basketball player, Adam Palley, the comedian
- 55:03Speaker 5: ego Wodhem also a comedian, Tracy Latts, the living legend
- 55:07Speaker 5: Aiden Mayary T, Tran Rich Summer, Uh, Blair Beacon uh.
- 55:13Speaker 5: And it was created by us and Adam and our
- 55:17Speaker 5: friend David Casp who is a dear friend and also
- 55:21Speaker 5: knows Bridger. He's never been on this. Does he do podcasts?
- 55:25Speaker 5: I don't think he wants kind of a you know,
- 55:27Speaker 5: he's he's reclusive.
- 55:28Speaker 3: He hides in the shadows.
- 55:29Speaker 5: He's deep. Yeah, he's deep in the shadow. Will force
- 55:31Speaker 5: him to ask him, but then he'll do it.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the sort of person who'll do it. Regards
- 55:38Speaker 3: then never he'll dodge me for the rest of us life.
- 55:40Speaker 5: That's right, that's right. He's a way. He'd much rather
- 55:44Speaker 5: do that than just say he can. Yeah.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, the show is very good. Thank you
- 55:50Speaker 3: two former guests of the show.
- 55:53Speaker 5: Oh wow, the last fantastic, absolutely delightful.
- 55:57Speaker 3: People then gave me a beautiful clip on bangs. Okay,
- 56:02Speaker 3: that's a great gift, and gave me mostly used.
- 56:05Speaker 5: Bottle of lotion. All right, so both excellent gifts was
- 56:08Speaker 5: from her car. Very fortunate with the casting we worked,
- 56:13Speaker 5: I mean they were everyone on the show is so
- 56:16Speaker 5: brilliant and made us look incredible.
- 56:19Speaker 3: I mean, i'll give your give yourselves all the credit,
- 56:22Speaker 3: actually take the credit now.
- 56:23Speaker 5: They didn't fuck it up.
- 56:26Speaker 3: They got very lucky.
- 56:27Speaker 5: It was the Mona Lisa and they didn't fuck it out.
- 56:29Speaker 5: They said the words that we wrote and it was
- 56:33Speaker 5: truly I mean, such a murder's row of talented folks.
- 56:36Speaker 5: Though you would you would love Tracy Lett's. Oh I'm
- 56:39Speaker 5: sure he is a genius and such a great writer.
- 56:43Speaker 5: I mean he won a Pulitzer Prize and a Tony
- 56:46Speaker 5: he won he won the Pulitzer for August Osage County.
- 56:49Speaker 5: Oh of course, right, and so like we would just
- 56:53Speaker 5: walk up to him and be like, hey, if you
- 56:56Speaker 5: want to say a different word here, like whatever, like,
- 56:58Speaker 5: and he would say the most insanely funny, brilliant things
- 57:03Speaker 5: and add in ways that we truly never could have
- 57:07Speaker 5: ever in a million years, and was so funny and incredible.
- 57:13Speaker 5: I don't think I'll ever be anything, and I'll try. No, no,
- 57:17Speaker 5: like we would. We would give him a note and
- 57:19Speaker 5: then he would most of the time, ninety percent of
- 57:22Speaker 5: the time like take it, no problem.
- 57:24Speaker 3: But the.
- 57:26Speaker 5: Few times he pushed back, it was only with like
- 57:29Speaker 5: the most thoughtful character calculations that he had already made,
- 57:35Speaker 5: and he'd be like, well, I was thinking, like, isn't
- 57:37Speaker 5: he this way because of this and that, and just
- 57:39Speaker 5: like yes, yes, definitely, yeah, one hundred percent, you're so right.
- 57:43Speaker 5: Just stuff we never thought about, and he did and
- 57:46Speaker 5: it was amazing.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Oh it's tough feeling to get pushed back, that makes sense.
- 57:50Speaker 5: It's great best thing ever. Honestly, I always I'd rather
- 57:54Speaker 5: have that.
- 57:54Speaker 3: No, no, no, I want to get in a fight.
- 57:56Speaker 5: Yeah, right, it always, you know, I want to tell
- 57:59Speaker 5: them they're wrong, they agree with the note that.
- 58:04Speaker 6: You're like, actually scratch that, do it the other way. Yeah,
- 58:07Speaker 6: what you took that note, you idiot. It's wrong, it's wrong.
- 58:12Speaker 5: In fact, you are a bad actor. You're tank your career,
- 58:17Speaker 5: you own show. You really have fired so many actors
- 58:20Speaker 5: on your on shows. It's great.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Oh I'm known for kind of just releasing them for
- 58:24Speaker 3: the day. Find somebody. Now, we gotta need to replacement
- 58:27Speaker 3: in five minutes.
- 58:28Speaker 5: I don't care what they look if you come on SATURD.
- 58:30Speaker 5: It's kind of like, that's the kiss of that, that's
- 58:33Speaker 5: can I tell you what what I My favorite move
- 58:35Speaker 5: of yours is when you hire the other actor before
- 58:38Speaker 5: you fire the first one, and have them just walk
- 58:41Speaker 5: in in costs, in the same wardrobe, same as the person,
- 58:45Speaker 5: or sit next to them and be like hey, and
- 58:47Speaker 5: then you're like excuse me, can I talk to you?
- 58:49Speaker 5: To the first actor? And then you fire? That is ice, Well,
- 58:53Speaker 5: I've learned.
- 58:54Speaker 3: It's been years of you know, fine tuning the process.
- 58:57Speaker 5: You don't want that. You don't want that downtime in
- 59:00Speaker 5: between actors. No, no, that's true.
- 59:02Speaker 3: The budgets are so slender now, they're just killing us
- 59:05Speaker 3: everywhere they can.
- 59:08Speaker 5: Second. No, no, no, absolutely, because you can always like
- 59:10Speaker 5: have them do one last take and then you just
- 59:13Speaker 5: face replaced, right right replace? You like to tell them
- 59:18Speaker 5: that it's fine, we'll just you're fired, but we will
- 59:20Speaker 5: face and we'll face replace. Don't we'll voice replace to
- 59:23Speaker 5: It's yeah, this is all gonna get. Don't worry, don't worry.
- 59:27Speaker 5: But can we just have you just for camera? Can you? Okay?
- 59:33Speaker 3: This is how we play Gift or a Curse. I'm
- 59:34Speaker 3: gonna name three things. You're going to tell me if
- 59:37Speaker 3: they're a gift or a curse and why, and then
- 59:39Speaker 3: I'll tell you if you're right or wrong. Because there
- 59:41Speaker 3: are correct answers. You can lose.
- 59:43Speaker 5: Okay.
- 59:44Speaker 3: It should be very embarrassing for both of you, of course.
- 59:46Speaker 5: And should we both just shout out our answers.
- 59:49Speaker 3: I think you should uh talk to each other about it.
- 59:51Speaker 3: Be exercise.
- 59:53Speaker 5: Oh got it. That's great. So there's not like this,
- 59:55Speaker 5: not like we're punching through. Talk it through? Okay, casual?
- 59:59Speaker 3: Okay, First, this is the first one. It's from a
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: listener named Joe. A Gift or a curse? Two employees
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: and customer service e g. Two baristas who make a
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: point to finish their personal conversation before making eye contact
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: with you or acknowledging your presence at the register.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: Man, I feel like there's a trick question. I feel
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: like I feel it. I think it's a I think
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: it's a curse. I have to say curse. It's not something.
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: I mean, i'd be curious to hear what they're talking about,
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: but I can hear what a lot of people are
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: talking about all the time, all the time. Yeah, it's
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: not professional, right, keep it at home. Also, keep it
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: at home. They don't live together. Well, this is the
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: only opportunity they have to talk. It seems like they
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: hang out outside of work. You're friends. Maybe not. Maybe
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: that's a heated conversation that they'll tell you why. It's why.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: It's also a curse. Eye contact with me? Uh no,
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: they said, oh yeah, they finished the conversation before me.
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: That's a no no too. Well, you don't want that
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: eye head down? What can I get you? Got it
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: all right? So, because it's not the converse station that
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: defends you, it's the fact that once they address you,
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: they make it. Okay, I'm okay with that. I think
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: we got to go curse wrong. Oh it's a gift, okay. Love.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: These two have their personal conversation it feels nice to
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: just vanish in public for a few seconds. It's just
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: kind of, you know, you're just kind of it's an ego.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: You know, you're learning things about yourself. You're watching these
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: two people. Maybe they have a little chit chat that
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: we all want to wrap up chit chat now and again,
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: and somebody needs our help.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: They can wait, got it. Maybe they're talking about a
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: recipe and you're learning it. Yeah, maybe i'm evesdropping. Maybe
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: it's great.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Maybe there's some juicy gossip.
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Uh, and even if it's not interesting to me, they
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: should take as much time as they want.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: What is the but to what end? How much time
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: can they take?
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Five to ten minutes?
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: Five to ten So you're for me, the line forms.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: You've waited in line, right, assuming you get up to
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: the front and now two people who are it's supposed
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: to be a one second thing where they're like, what
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: can I get you? They're talking to each other to
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: ten minutes. I don't know if you know how long
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: of a television comedy. No, it's basically it's almost a half. Yeah,
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: it's almost a half. Yeah, because twenty one having a
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: conversation and you're standing there the first act.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Family about loved ones, can't give guccino.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: I'm saying, like, get the drink and then go, go go.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: I'm so busy I would be thinking about.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: It, But why can't they talk and do their job
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: at the same time, because that's what they have is
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: so much more important. So deep, Yeah they have you know,
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: you're right, Sherman. I agree. I agree. We were spid.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Does it?
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: Does this? Do you guys do instant replay to check
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: to like decide to slow down?
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Okay, extream, It'll be like a video.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: I'm just I'm saying, is there a judge who could, like.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Right sitting and you're looking at it.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Right, we lost the judge, Jerry executioner. Oh yeah, God,
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: Q Man, get it through your head. We're going to
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: be cruising time.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: I just.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: Can we get to Long Beach in fifteen minutes?
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Well take the Burbank Airport if we way, we can't.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: Yeah, but if we get along two minutes late, we're
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: taking a blade. Yeah that's true. We're sobbing in Okay, okay.
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: Number two.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: This is from a listener named Jennifer. Gift to a
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: curse getting someone else's food order through a drive through
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: and not realizing until you get home.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: M I gotta say, it depends. I think it has
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: to depend on Uh, it has to depend on what
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: it is. I my brother and I can I tell
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: a story answer first.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: You can do whatever you want.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: As long as the story gets to an answer.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: I feel like it's just completely.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: It gets to the answer of my what my answer
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: would be. We there was a Chinese restaurant that we
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: used to love in Arcadia, I believe or San Gabriel
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: called meylong Ville. It was an incredible Shanghaiese restaurant that
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: is since closed that we were obsessed with. I went
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: one time. My wife was pregnant at the time. I
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: went and I got so much extra food. I was like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: I ordered like five things. I ate there and then
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: I took the rest home very excited. This family next
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: to me was like laughing at how much food I ordered,
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: and they were eating their food. Get home with these
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: two enormous bags that were heavy to carry in. I
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: was like, honey, guess what I got. I'm so excited.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: I open up the first box. I got the other
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: people's order, their entire table, and it was devastating none
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: of my front pan fried noodles, none of my Shanghai
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: rice cakes, none of the uh.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: Several bricks.
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: That's the back I got. Yeah, that was cool. That
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: was That was aw Also, I'm gonna say curse people
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: have disgusting eating habits, and I would say, I have
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: great taste of food. So whatever I'm going to order
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: is going to be It's gonna be of thoughtful order.
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: Are good.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: You're so nice to have in a workplace because you care.
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: We do. Can some people want when the menu thing
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: comes out, give me the ball. I'll take course. You
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: can be trusted. Yes, there were people on that show
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: we worked on together who would order from places just
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: to anger everyone.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: If you remember, I mean, I could, I could tell
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: a story. I mean I'll say, is that if you
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: force me to order lunch from a place that you
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: know everyone hates, Yes, the future of your career may
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: be in danger.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: Oh, you have that much power.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Look, people ask around about people, People ask around about
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: people and.
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: You and you you should say this before you give
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: your tell us if we're right or wrong. You have
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: pretty specific tastes. The only thing, Yeah, yeah, enjoy food
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: is the only thing. So if I'm going to order
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: the things are going to be, they're gonna work in harmony.
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: Sometimes it's stuff for my kids. If I'm not going
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: to get that, that's going to cause me a world.
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: I think we got I think we gotta go. Curse.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: You're either getting chicken feet or you're getting like a
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: bacon eater, sometimes chicken, sometimes feet.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Right, So you're saying curse. I mean, I can't argue,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: but it's a curse. But a horrible feet.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: It's not good. It can't be.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: I mean I would love to say. I mean, it's
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: in someone else's shoes, right, and we could all use
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: that peek into other people's ordering.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: I think everyone Okay, I'm backing off.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: It's a gift, no what no, because people are people
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: are sitting in the comfort of their own homes and
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: they're ordering food like little piggies included. It depends what
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: on the restaurant. I mean maybe I feel like you
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: just want what you want, you know, I mean, by
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: the time, your foods so expensive? Have you noticed how
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: expensive food? Are you kidding? Twenty eight dollars for a cheeseburger?
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Hello?
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: Last time I checked it was free? When was that
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: you worked. Oh yeah, you had a cheeseburger factory. That's
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: not a fair comparison. You can't if you own the
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: factory that makes charity that gave out burgers. Last time
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: you checked, Yeah, last time I checked. Being charged free?
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: It's free?
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: Got it?
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: That makes sense.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Okay, you've gotten one out of two so far.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: This is the This is the rubber man.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: That's from a listener named Katie Gift to a curse
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: cyclists who don't remove their helmet when they go shopping.
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: Huh, they don't remove their helmets when they go shopping. Now,
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: let me ask this question. I wonder if they're wearing
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: bike shoes, if they're clamping, Yeah, if they're clamping, if
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: they're clamping about, I'm going to say, I don't want
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: to hear the clumps.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: You have.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: This is just the helmet because he is the.
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: Least offensive part of the bikers get up. I think
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: it's a blessing, and I think it's partially I'm gonna think.
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: I'm going to think about them for a second. It's
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: a blessing to them having biked in the past. You're
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: you sweat you bike. You've got a very weird that
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: the internal sort of mechanism that holds the plastic thing
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: that holds the helmet on, it's messing your hair up.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: Your hair is looking really bad. So I think it's
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: a blessing to the person and everyone around that person
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: to not have to see probably the worst their hair.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: I would imagine it's ever gonna look. I think it's
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: a curse in that I dress up for me, put
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: some thought into the act. If you know you're going
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: to be biking, go home, put it respectable looking outfit
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: on where you're not wearing a helmet, and come back
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: to the store looking proper. But what if they're using
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: the bike as transportation. It's a very Find a shower,
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: take a horse bath in the in the bathroom. Surely
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: the place that you have that you're going into has
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: a bathroom. Change clothes. So you're gonna put on oh
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: like that's you've never seen saddle bag. You're going to
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: put the saddle back. You can do a messenger, right
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: I did. Oh my god, back in the day. Can
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: you believe that that was a thing? Now we can
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: just email.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, can you imagine?
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: I know, tell you put them all out of business.
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: The fax machine. Yeah. I mean I remember when it
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: was free. What was free? What's bike? Okay, so let's
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: get messages. Package was dead free.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: Receiving anything is always is usually you're getting package. Factory
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: charity was this.
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: It was a package charity, truly the worst charity. I mean,
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: I could see why people would want cheeseburgers, but just
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: a package whatever in it. They eventually the businesses, uh,
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: they merged. Got oh, sure burger, he's made burger packaging.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh interesting, there's a lot of money there.
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it's all the money is in there. You went
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: back on the charity. When a burger is twenty nine dollars,
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: I mean, think about That's what I'm saying. Twenty six
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: of it is the packages thing is a free burger.
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: This guy's this guy's making twenty six dollars wrapper. Yeah, foil.
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: It's a piece of salk foil. Eventually it'll just be
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: wrapped in in postal postal money orders. It's a scary dollars.
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: It's a scarf. It's a burger wrapped in a scarf.
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: It's like Steve, it's called Steven Tyler Burger. It's a
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: great place they were trying to start we're trying to
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: get him attached to a burger place. Yeah, all right,
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: blessing or curse someone is walking. It's a gift.
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: Sorry, gift, it's a gift. Uh all right, you know,
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: I'll it's a curse. It it's I don't want to
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: look at it. I don't want to look at you
- 1:11:13Speaker 6: in your helmet and your stuff.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: All right, I'll just I think we have to have
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: a united front, and you feel I think more passionate
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: about this than I don't want to see it than
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: we don't. We don't want to see it. We don't
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: want to see it.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: You're right, it's a curse some class respect.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: This is target.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: It's not a pig pen.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: It's not a farm. What wire farm? What on a farm?
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: Is farms? Yeah?
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: Around the pigs and the horses.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: You're right, that's gross. Yeah.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: I don't want to feel like I'm on the side
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: of the three way while I'm grocery shopping.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: That's I don't want to be made to feel bad
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: that I'm not cycling about. That's environmental. Well, it's also
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: like environmental shaming. It's like, oh I polluted by driving here,
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: everyone fels guilty all right, Yeah, that's enraged. I do
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: find it funny that bikers have to wear like a costume,
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: the costume you have to wear when you bike us.
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: And maybe it's not everywhere, but in La it's like
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: you're sponsored by a team. No you're not coming, No
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: you're not, you are not, you are You're literally out
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: for Can you just wear a T shirt and shorts?
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: I understand baggy shorts?
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: Or is that caught in? Can't you wear like long
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: baggy pants, a skirt and hind heels? Can't you wear
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: a fringe pant? I don't understand. Can't you wear dangling
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: long gloves with the fingers kill you? To put on
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: a mermaid tail?
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: And a bandana over your eyes? Who cares?
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: Come on? What are you in the Tour de France?
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: Well you got two out of three.
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: That's that's really good. Good, that's really good. I don't
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: remember any of the questions, but I'm very proud.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: Because you did so well. Yeah, you answered it and
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: moved on with your life.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: Tell us what we want?
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Uh? You won me being so kind right now and
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: just showering you in these thank you both needed. Let's
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: be honest, I needed to hear this today.
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: This is why we came, and we were hoping.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: I don't think this morning cry.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: I didn't think we would get it. We have a
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: lot going on. I came for a boost, came to
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: get my bucket filled. I'm happy right now.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Okay, if we're going to we have a new thing
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: we're going to do because I have a lot of
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: listeners screaming about my answers frequently that I'm not impartial,
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: and so I'm going to have Honalis do one round
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: of gift a curse for both of us. Okay, and
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: so Honally's has thought of a list of things that
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: we're not aware of, and we're gonna both try to win, Honalis.
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: What are we doing here, all right?
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: Gift or a curse? When goldfish crackers were temporarily renamed
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: Chilean Sea bass crackers to appeal to adults.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: When was this just this last week? Actually?
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: What see this is?
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: I don't keep up with the news.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Most kids who eat them don't know what the name is.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: But that's the point. Oh, I mean they're fishies, right? Yeah.
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: Isn't Chilean sea bass like a misnomer too? Isn't that
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: it isn't it called like South American crudfish or something?
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: And they like, y, yeah, South American mud crud, a
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: mud crud. Yeah yeah, it's a mud crud. Yeah yeah,
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: So they tried to rename it. Would you like to answer? First? First,
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: I hate this, okay, I.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Mean just on at least, reading that made me mad.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: I feel like this is a bad idea. I don't
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: like when a.
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: Company tries to have fun, right.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: I also just don't want to think about other fish
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: when I'm eating goldfish crackers, And when these companies do
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: these stunts, I'm off board right permanently.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: I won't buy.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: I won't buy the brand ever. Again they've lost me
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: as a customer.
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: I agree it's not a fish like you wouldn't be like, hey, yeah,
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: I'm a Pascatarian. I only eat Chilean sea bass crackers.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: That's nonsense. Also, naming it specifically makes it really actually
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: sound like an animal, when before I never associated the
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: cracker with an animal and thinking like it actually trams,
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: I'm not like, look at this small bear, Well you
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: actually are, like, yeah, I do like eating I do
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: like eating bear meat.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: You hate bears, you don't like the taste of the
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: cracker at all. No, what makes you get No?
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: I like bear meat. Bear meat, I read recently is
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: the number one source of trick andosis in undercooked bear meat. Yes,
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: more than pork. So definitely they're not naming Teddy Grams
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: anytime soon. Tricksis Grams or beat. It also sounds like
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: something you could send someone, like a letter like sing
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: written on bear meat. That's awesome.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: No, I personally think it's a curse. I don't like
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: when a company ever ever has fun.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: I agree, I agree, I bet keep it straight down
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: the middle. I'm gonna give that answer. But I also
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: kind of think it's a g because it's so idiotic
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: that I like seeing people do dum dumb stuff like that.
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: I will go with curse ultimately, because it's horrifying on alas,
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: how do we do? You're all correct?
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: The reason is something that hasn't been mentioned yet to me.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: If this company, if Peppridge Farm, has to employ a
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: stunt to get people to eat goldfish, what is going
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: on with our society?
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: They're the most very good?
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: Are they the youth of America not eating goldfish anymore?
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: This is interesting.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Are they going out of business?
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: Well, it is Pepperridge doing sustainable farming? Are they doing
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: regenerative farming? Petpbridge of their fish, the gold fish? I mean,
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: what's next? I mean, do we have to worry about
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: milanos and saucelitos? I mean what else the peer farm?
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: Then you start wondering of the mercury content in any
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: of this. Right, So they've brought a bad spotlight onto
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: the brand.
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: Yeah, they've They've committed brand suicide. I think they've sli
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: the brand honestly to a point now where I think
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: it's the kind of thing where we go and like
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: burn Pepperidge Farm products in parking lots of grocery stores. Absolutely,
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: that's the only thing I could suggest to your listeners
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: right now, if I may, can I speak to them?
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: I mean, I think everyone needs to go direct to them.
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: I think the point of this podcast was to get
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: to this of like go and don't buy them. I
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: think mass steel they have to be stolen, stolen, paper
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: farm doesn't care, and the grocery store is just going
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: to reorder. It doesn't burn the same unless it's stolen.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: Right, Hijack the trucks, whatever it takes, go to the
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: factories themselves.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: Absolutely, just just don't work there.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Walk out o company wide, walk out. Absolutely. If you're
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: still working there right now, you're a coward.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: You're a scab. Get out, get out immediately. Okay, Well
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: that settles, Thank you all for God. Would that be
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: funny if Peppridge Farm tanked?
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: Okay, this is the final segment of the podcast. So
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: it's called I said no emails, people write into I
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: said no gifts at gmail dot com. You should know
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: now that all of my listeners have desperate lives. They're
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: just grabbing at whatever they can take. The everything's out
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: of control and they need as much help as they
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: can get. And so that's why they don't blame them
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: panic and write an email to a podcast. They have
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: no one left, right, So will you help me answer
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: your question?
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: Sure?
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: Okay, this is Hello friends. My girlfriend's birthday is just
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: that's a little familiar to Hello friends.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: Anyway.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: My girlfriend's birthday is just a few days before Christmas,
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: and as a result, she has been plagued by a
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: lifetime of birthday Christmas combo gifts. One gift for two
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: events truly bullshit. As the caring and doting girlfriend that
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: I am, I am committed to never imposing this harm
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: on her. I have already picked out a gift for
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: her birthday, nice boots that will nearly deplete the gift budget.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: I'm hoping you can suggest a wallet friendly Christmas gift
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: that won't be a total let down. Her interests include woodworking,
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: house plants, travel, and art. Okay, thanks, love you by Lippy.
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: Okay, first of all, let's talk about the issue. I
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: totally understandable, right, I mean, that's well. I think there's
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: another time.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: I mean I think there's another issue here.
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: Don't say what you're gonna say that vir.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Dealing with lesbian I didn't realize the podcast this is unfortunately.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: I'm so sorry to everyone. I'm sorry to all the
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: listeners that thought they were comfortable in a straight space.
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: And if you just see him right, he's furiously packing
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: up his belongings, packing up his belongings, crying, just so confused,
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: and he's going into a banker's box. I brought the
- 1:19:41Speaker 5: bankers he always brings it, just in case the storm off,
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: just in case he needs to pack up quit. Yes,
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: I get it. I get the plight of this person.
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: I wonder if they haven't gotten over it by now, right,
- 1:19:58Speaker 5: grow up. This is a grown up here. Yeah, this
- 1:20:00Speaker 5: is a grown grown up person right right, Like, I
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: don't know. I mean that being said, you know, everyone,
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: even adults, especially when you're in a relationship like this,
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: people like your birthday is like the day before your birthday.
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: Then you get a big thing, and then it's like
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: you get time and then you get a full Most
- 1:20:16Speaker 5: people get a full birthday and a full gift winter holiday.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: But I feel like this person is got the best
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: of both worlds. It's like you get your birthday, then
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: you get the post birthday let down, and then bam,
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: you're right right.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: From here comes Santa Claus.
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: Yeah, here comes Santa. It's beginning to feel a lot
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: like her birthday. Well that sucks. Well when they're doing
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: dreaming of a white your birthday, Yeah, that's bad. That sucks.
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: I don't Yes, obviously, the parody songs will get old,
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: very right. That being said, If this is the type
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: of person who's never been exposed to parody songs, could
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: they gift oh or I don't know. Is there someone
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: they know, maybe on this podcast, who composed a song
- 1:21:02Speaker 5: for them.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: You're really asking for it right now, he's going to
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: demand that you write apparently song.
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: If your birthday is within one day of Christmas? What
- 1:21:11Speaker 5: was the call to action?
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: They need a pitch for a wallet friendly gift that
- 1:21:14Speaker 6: they already got nice, fancy.
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: What I'm hearing.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: I want to know what the boots is that Libby. Yeah,
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: don't buy such nice boots. You buy worse boots and
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: a worse other gifts.
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: Right, you sort of two bad gifts. But just like
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: stay within budget, like it's you know what the budget.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: She blames it on the one thing that the next
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: gift is going to be.
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: She's floundering. Absolutely, you guys are okay, She's gonna have
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: to do some woodworking. This is why neither of you
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: have are in long committed relationships. I'm breaking up a gym.
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: This is why nobody loves you, guys. Okay. I see
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: plants as a very good in for a wallet friendly
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know what are the boots, Like
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: there's a thousand did you spend nine eighty on the boots?
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: Like how much? But you can get a very thoughtful,
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: cool like rare plant somewhere or do some research and
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: get something that someone can some By the way, seeds,
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: my wife loves planting stuff gardening. You can always get
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: cool seeds to plants. By the way, Okay, here's another pitch. Go,
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: I don't know where this person lives. They know, we
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: don't know where they live. Right, They're going to assume
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: in like Los Angeles, we have these beautiful assume assume
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: a total like dump of a city. Yeah, that has
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: no garden like a Santa Monica. Oh god, no, our
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: our city here, Los Angeles area has a lot of
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: gardens you can go to, like beautiful. There's Huntington Garden.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: There's experience, an experience, something that's not just a gift
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: like that. Yes, the boots too, that wait, the boots
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: Christmas or birthday birthdays first? Yes, then Chris on Christmas,
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: make her walk to a garden.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: Alone, and.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: If she comes back, And if she comes back, you
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: get a tiny plant that I bought you. But isn't
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: the Christmas tree a plant?
- 1:23:14Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Interesting, Now that's being over the plant one more time.
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: Besides besides plants, it was the woodworking, woodworking, wood craft
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: so cheap. What are we talking picture of a place? Yeah,
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: get get out of town art. Well, you can't get
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: out of town because you can afford it. Yeah, because
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: I hope you like the boots because you're not getting
- 1:23:37Speaker 5: out of town any times. I you know, there are
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: there's some nice travel books out there, there are hotels.
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: A hunk of wood is easy, by the way, vintage
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: woodworking tool very cool, or gardening tools something like that.
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: They like plants. I mean, this is easy. I feel
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: like I feel like her. I think her first thing
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: was I have to think of a gift. I will
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: email a podcast instead of giving it one second thought.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: She doesn't care about her girlfriend and this is a
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: cry for help.
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: It's not like her. Like her other interests include like
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: race cars and fur coats, like these are things that
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: are these are things that can be found. Ye, gold bars,
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: her hobby is gold.
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: No, this is like she loves dust, found sound, paper, rotting, vegetables.
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: I don't know what to do. Honestly, I met a
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: lot of string enthusiasts and the boots. Really, the moots
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: really set me back.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Well, I feel like that answers it. I mean, if
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: you can't take whatever was just said and create the
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: ultimate gift, I.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: Would say, look for something in the interests that's uh,
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: that's vintage or unique honestly, half the half the battle
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: is just the thought that goes in. I know that's
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: a bit of a thing that I always say, and
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: no one's else, no one else has ever said. I've
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: always said that in one thing that counts in terms
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: of things that count, the thought was probably be the
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: one is how I say it. But I'm I honestly
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: think a we helped be. Maybe I should be like
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: the correspondent for like gifts suggestions.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: I think you should. I think we're gonna call you in.
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: I think if I was like the kind of voice
- 1:25:35Speaker 5: of God's kind of thing who came in producer You're show,
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: I mean, listen, I don't love the way the show
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: is produced right.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: Now and always hanging by a threadge I feel like
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: I did not love the attitude where none of us do.
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: I'm out of water. When I walked in, she did
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: the thing with her thumb and then slid it across
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: her throat to.
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: Me, Well, yeah, is constantly threatening guests like.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: Ben Still and Happy Gilmore. I did not love that
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: you offer me a warm glass to shut the hell up. Yeah,
- 1:26:04Speaker 5: she sent me to the wrong address.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: So, but you know these things we tolerate, Yes, obviously,
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: but maybe we could bring you in as a shadow
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: producer for a period.
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: See how you do when I come in with the
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: exact same wardrobe as an Eli's and then you get
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: rid of her? Yes, exactly. I obviously have a history
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: of I have Matthew sitting in the wings. Yeah, it's
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: just with the exact same look. It's like, how you doing. Oh,
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: by the way, Bridger wants to talk to you.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: I always have the Replacementelle the first.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: The boss would like a word. It's nice, it's nice
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: working with you.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: Has their dress with this matching the wig?
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: Yes, of course, half that's the only way to do it.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: Well, we answered that perfectly, Libby, do not write back
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: in uh. And now I've got thirty dollars and my
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: thirty five dollars sewage fund. Who knows what I'm gonna
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: spiral out of control here? This is why that's the
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: best job I've had this year. I can't wait with
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: the extra thirty five.
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: Now you're really approaching like extravagant entree price. Yes, yes,
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: so that's just gonna We're closing in on like Tomahawk
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: territory here. You're far shive boots.
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Will not be buying any boots.
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: That's actually not true. The boots she's talking about, they
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: were fifty six dollars, Yeah, fifty six ninety five.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: You bought the same you're wearing.
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: These are the ones same boots. Yeah. They go all
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: the way up to your neck. Yeah. Yeah, they got
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: overall strapped, waterproof and they have a hood. No hood.
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: I love a hood hooded boot. It's a great it's
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: a great item.

- 1:27:59Speaker 3: to a halt as usual. I haven't given you well,
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: actually I have given you plenty of evidence. I feel
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: like there's a rhythm towards the end of a podcast
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: that most listeners get used to and then they're capable
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: of emotionally carrying on with the rest of their day.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: So if that's not you, I don't I'm not in
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: control of your life and I'm not responsible for anything
