- 0:06Hello and welcome to episode two of Draft Offsides.
- 0:09I'm here with Tico and Enzo. My name is Keith.
- 0:13Before we get started, do you guys know Pookie came to the
- 0:16MLS? No.
- 0:18What? I didn't.
- 0:19How did you not know that Tico? I thought you were his number
- 0:21one fan. I right now, for those who don't
- 0:25know, Timo Pookie is a relatively unknown Finnish
- 0:27striker who played for Norwich City in the 2019-2020 season.
- 0:33That Chico drafted him like really late and he went on to be
- 0:37really good that year and so he kind of became Chico's like
- 0:40spirit, animal, sash, Talisman and a running joke amongst our
- 0:44friends. What team does he play currently
- 0:47in that last? Minnesota.
- 0:49He's played three games, Scored a goal, Obviously, Chico, are
- 0:58you gonna start taking all your vacations in Minnesota now?
- 1:01You know what? I think I'm gonna go when they
- 1:02play live. Yeah, I'm gonna go, oh, by the
- 1:05way, I don't. I don't know if you guys care or
- 1:07not, but yesterday I was at the Continental and Barcelona
- 1:10staying there. Yeah, we're at the lot of, like,
- 1:13people with the, like, the polo Crest.
- 1:15And then outside, there was a bunch of fans waiting for
- 1:17autographs. What are you doing at the
- 1:19Continental? We went to drinks, we went to
- 1:23after work, we had a meeting, we went to bowling as the team and
- 1:26then after some of us went to drinking.
- 1:31Drinking. Parking was $52.
- 1:34Fuck me. Not that the like they should
- 1:39like it was for like maybe 3 1/2 four hours.
- 1:43I feel like valet would have been cheaper, yeah?
- 1:45I think valet might have been cheaper.
- 1:47Yeah, one second. I gotta tell the Mrs. One
- 1:50second. Let me tell the Mrs. Michelle
- 1:54Barcelona is at the Continental. I know, but they're at the
- 2:01Continental. There's an FYI.
- 2:05She's excited. They were going to tell her
- 2:07about Timu Pookie. I'm not going to tell her about
- 2:11Timu Pookie. She doesn't care about Timu
- 2:13Pookie. Oh, did you hear that?
- 2:16Whoa. Those are fine words.
- 2:20She loves T coke, I can tell her.
- 2:25She said she said she loved her. Tell her, I said.
- 2:30I love Madrid. No, I'm not trying to ruin my
- 2:34day. We, I don't want ends up against
- 2:37this laptop taken away. It's not.
- 2:38Even my laptop, that's what I mean.
- 2:40Her laptop taken away. Alright, so let's just hop right
- 2:46into it. We're gonna go over some
- 2:47transfer news and rumors, things that are going on.
- 2:50The first bit of news is it super premulated, but I feel
- 2:54like kind of need to talk about it.
- 2:57Lionel Messi. After a high profile moved into
- 2:59Miami, Messi made his debut and scored in fairy tale fashion,
- 3:02hitting a free kick and salvage time to win the game.
- 3:05Kiko, you have some thoughts on that?
- 3:07Honestly, it is insanity how everyone is like posting all
- 3:11over social media talking Oh my God, Messi does God he made this
- 3:15goal. Yeah, I guess the team Cruz Azu
- 3:18sounds like a freaking failed to kill a brand name.
- 3:22They're big in Mexico. You just don't know him.
- 3:26It's like a big Mexican team. Mexican league Yeah, he scored a
- 3:30goal. Whatever they were up 10.
- 3:32Messi comes in the game and won one.
- 3:35And after Messi comes in the game it's a one and one.
- 3:38He's playing against whatever team.
- 3:39Freaking even when the goalie lined up I told my friend I'm
- 3:42like watch. It's gonna go on the top left.
- 3:44The goalie lined up wrong. What happens goes to the top
- 3:47left and never goes crazy messy runs around, whatever.
- 3:49Slow their feet. Kick.
- 3:50When Cristiano Ronaldo went to the Saudi Arabia League,
- 3:54everyone's all this guy sucks. He's watched.
- 3:56He can't play anywhere else. He won a 37.
- 3:59Messy's 35. When was the last time he played
- 4:01a meaningful league game? Unbelievable.
- 4:05I just hate this messy fandom. I hate it.
- 4:07I hate it. Yes, he's an amazing player, but
- 4:09we get it. Just a freaking freaking goal,
- 4:12right? I'll tell you the box It screws
- 4:13our zoo. Why are you crying so much?
- 4:16Yeah, he's wearing a pink shirt. He's in the MLS.
- 4:18He's got, you know, he's increased the followers by
- 4:204,000,000 for into Miami. He's one of the best players in
- 4:24the world ever. One of the most golden doors.
- 4:27I let you talk. You let me talk, All right?
- 4:29I let you go on your little rant because you're a little Ronaldo
- 4:31lover. Yeah, Ronaldo went to Saudi
- 4:33Arabia. Is it much better than the MLS?
- 4:35I don't think so. It's the same thing, except the
- 4:37MLS is a little bit more established.
- 4:39Yeah, he came on late and he brought him back like.
- 4:42If he didn't do anything, we'd be talking a completely
- 4:44different story right now. Yeah, he scored a free kick.
- 4:46And I do agree with you, when I saw the wall and I saw the
- 4:48goalkeeper, I was like, that's easy.
- 4:50But how many players can do that?
- 4:52How many players would have hit the wall?
- 4:53But Messi didn't Messi put it in the top corner because Messi's
- 4:56Messi. So we've got to give some credit
- 4:59where Credit's due. He saw the weakness and he
- 5:01scored and it's going to be great for the MLS and they need
- 5:04it. Is it going to do wonders for
- 5:06the MLS? No, because they need more
- 5:07players that in their prime coming to this league.
- 5:10But is that going to happen anytime soon?
- 5:11I don't think so. They need to develop the young
- 5:13players, the youth, and maybe bring a few young players like
- 5:16Jew, Bellingham's brother or something.
- 5:18Bring them down to the MLS to try and prove it.
- 5:20But message storing that goal. You can't hate it, man.
- 5:23You can't. If Ronaldo came to do the same
- 5:25thing, Ibrahimvich did the same thing, Beckham did the same
- 5:28thing that. It's expected.
- 5:29My take is that it was a very, like, amazing first game.
- 5:33Like, it's and there was a little bit of happenstance.
- 5:35I'm curious to see what happens in the next 10 games.
- 5:39You know, like if if he's so dominant in the next 10 games,
- 5:42like, oh wow, If he, if it ends up being like, he has to work a
- 5:45little harder than we thought, I think that's a very real
- 5:47possibility too. Like, he doesn't have the
- 5:49personnel around him. It's not going to be this like
- 5:51amazing fairy tale for the next two years.
- 5:53Do you go last words and like, we're moving on.
- 5:55This is like, not what we're. I really don't do not care that
- 5:58much. Yeah, it's an amazing debut
- 6:00fairy tale, all of that. I get that.
- 6:01It's just I just don't like the way the media covers like the
- 6:05greatest thing that's ever happened.
- 6:07No one has ever better debut and Oh my God, it's messy.
- 6:10Yeah, whatever. I, you know, I'm gonna get a
- 6:13whole year, like couple years. Let's move on.
- 6:16I get it. OK.
- 6:18Next on the news, PSG announced that Imbape is not traveling
- 6:23with the team for the preseason training.
- 6:26The he they're trying to force a move from him.
- 6:30You know, I think, I think all expectations are he was planning
- 6:33to go to Madrid. I don't know what happens now,
- 6:36just in the like just as like a thought experiment like even
- 6:40though it's not likely what clubs from the Prem would make
- 6:43sense for Mbaba. The Arsenal?
- 6:46No, he's a tear and reefer and he's even mentioned that before.
- 6:49I fucking hate that. But Arsenal?
- 6:52I don't think he'd fit into that Man C team, even though that
- 6:54would be nuts with Earling Harlem.
- 6:56But where would he fit? But those two teams are the only
- 7:00two teams I see him going to. Unless Newcastle does something
- 7:03ridiculous and pulls out their wallet and offers them something
- 7:06big, because then that would be crazy.
- 7:08Also because he'd obviously be the star there.
- 7:10He won't have to share the limelight with anybody.
- 7:12Is he doing another name while when name while left Barcelona?
- 7:14Does he want to be the number one man and be the only man?
- 7:17I don't know. It's very surprising, honestly.
- 7:21Real Madrid, they'll hold out till next year.
- 7:23They're fine right now. They'll hold, they'll hold out
- 7:25and. PhD looks like they're being
- 7:27stubborn. They're making them stubborn.
- 7:29They're making them train with all the players they've they've
- 7:32put us to the back line. They're not even trained with
- 7:33the B team, they're just trained on their own.
- 7:36So I think it's a little bit bit disrespectful by PhD.
- 7:38They think they're up here on this pedestal where really
- 7:42they're down here in the Farmers League, so they need to check
- 7:44themselves. Do something quick or they're
- 7:46not gonna get anything formal. Yeah, the the way they're
- 7:49treating him, it's kind of, I think it's gonna be no salvaging
- 7:53their relationship. You can't have him just go
- 7:55trained with the players that are on their way out.
- 7:58It's you're talking about top two, top three player in the
- 8:01World World Cup winner. You know multiple goals.
- 8:04Sorry to you. Who's number one, top two, top
- 8:08three? Who's the world player?
- 8:10Yeah. I personally like Holland
- 8:14better, OK? I've been a Holland guy, so I'm
- 8:18a Holland person. But once Embapa starts wearing
- 8:21that white jersey for Real Madrid, I might have changed my
- 8:23mind. But I've said it always I prefer
- 8:27early Holland. I like his style better, his
- 8:30game, physicality. So I honestly, if I'm gonna
- 8:35throw a plot to us for you, Enzo, what if they sell?
- 8:40Harry Kane taught them. And they put another 80 million
- 8:44on there and they put an offer for MBAPE.
- 8:46It's never gonna happen, is it? I'm pretty sure Tom Holland
- 8:51tried to ask MBAPE to come to top them, and the first thing
- 8:55MBAPE said was no, No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 8:57What's happened? I don't think he's gonna go
- 9:00anywhere without Champions League, right?
- 9:02So I think that limits it. I think.
- 9:06I mean if he, if he was a, if he was a different type of player,
- 9:10City would be very interesting. But I think he's too much of
- 9:13like the ego. I'm like, I am the guy and I
- 9:15don't know how much that I think that clashes with that.
- 9:17I think the Arsenal move would be fascinating.
- 9:20But I also don't think he's super interested.
- 9:22I think this is gonna end in some weird like loan to Saudi
- 9:26Arabia for a year then go to Real Madrid, something like
- 9:29that. I kind of read that.
- 9:30I read that this morning, and that's a possibility.
- 9:32I I that too. That and they said they're gonna
- 9:35shatter name our ski records. So whatever the amount is gonna
- 9:40be if they throw us for you know, 800 million for one year
- 9:44who knows or 500 million for one year.
- 9:48I mean, he might he might go for Saudi year before a year as
- 9:51well. If the money is outrageous, I
- 9:54wouldn't shock me. All right, let's move on though.
- 9:56Hurricane Watch is there. We'll go to our resident
- 9:59Tottenham fan, Enzo. Have you heard anything?
- 10:02Is there any movements? Is said that the the agents, his
- 10:07dad and his brother have already basically agreed terms with
- 10:11Bayern Munich. And there's Wayne on Levy.
- 10:13And we know how Levy is. He's a pain in the ass.
- 10:16He's a businessman first and foremost.
- 10:18He's not a football chairman, he's a businessman.
- 10:21So until he gets an offer that he likes, which is a hundred
- 10:24120. He's not going to push, but will
- 10:28that hurt us next season? Will Kane not put in his all?
- 10:34He is a professional, but would you want to get injured before
- 10:36getting that free move? You know what I mean?
- 10:39Did you see that photo of Hurricane's brother working from
- 10:42home in a full three piece suit? What a loser.
- 10:45What is wrong? Like what a what a nerd.
- 10:48You know what I mean? I thought that like gave me 0
- 10:50confidence in his negotiating and his whole his whole team.
- 10:56The the question really is, does Kane care about the Premiership
- 11:00accolade or beating Shearer's goal scoring record?
- 11:03Is that enough for his legacy or does he really want trophies?
- 11:06Because at the moment he's been to so many finals with Tottenham
- 11:09and in England. I think he just wants some
- 11:11silverware, so going to Bayern Munich, which in my opinion will
- 11:14be a big mistake on his part. Not Not saying he should stay
- 11:16with Tottenham, but he should stay in the Premiership.
- 11:18I think there's other teams in the Premiership that would take
- 11:20him who are top teams that will win League Cup.
- 11:24FA Cups and even the league. Why do you think it would be a
- 11:26mistake going to barn Munich? He's just gonna go to Bayern
- 11:29Munich where, you know, help them win what their their 50th
- 11:33flicking title, wherever it might be.
- 11:35He's gonna. They haven't gone far in the
- 11:37Champions League. So if he's even looking for
- 11:39Champions League, he's trying to get to that status.
- 11:41Can you make? Even Levandowski couldn't get in
- 11:43there. And Levandowski's, you know, a
- 11:45Ballador top three right there. I don't think he win it.
- 11:51Don't get wrong, He's gonna win. He's gonna win it by Munich.
- 11:53But is it worth it in the end? Byron Munich won the treble.
- 11:57What was it 3-4 years ago? The following year Lewandowski
- 12:00was injured when they lost and they're missing the striker to
- 12:03play in the Champions League. And you mentioned the Premier
- 12:06League all time goalster in a record.
- 12:08He could go to play Byron for two years, come back and still
- 12:12break that record and come back with some trophies.
- 12:14Yeah, I don't know. I'm kind of torn.
- 12:16I see both sides of that, I think.
- 12:19I think regardless of it, as this goes on longer and longer,
- 12:25I am moving Kane down my rankings.
- 12:28So I you know, when this was kind of just like a rumor in the
- 12:32wind, he was like top one, maybe 2.
- 12:35Now I'm think I'm picking three or four players before him, just
- 12:39cuz it's so risky and like they were just absolutely stuck to
- 12:42draft him not only in the first round but like in the 1st 5
- 12:46picks and then have him leave before the season and leave in
- 12:50January. I'm like I'm cooling on him in
- 12:53general as this goes on. He's too great of a player not
- 12:57to have any trophies. He deserves to go to a team that
- 13:00could recognize him. He could achieve his greatness.
- 13:03Let's move on. Anthony Elonga from Manchester
- 13:06United is Nottingham Forest. Is that an interesting transfer
- 13:10for you guys? Didn't they already have a goal
- 13:12scorer last season? They did pretty well for him.
- 13:15Johnson, Gibbs, White. Those are kind of their two.
- 13:18Yeah. I don't know I I'm I think it's
- 13:20I'm kind of torn. I think he's a good talent and I
- 13:22think but I don't think he's gonna be getting the service he
- 13:25was getting when he was at United.
- 13:26I think it's it's not that it's easy to it's easier to score
- 13:29goals on a good team than it is on a bad team And it doesn't
- 13:32just it doesn't translate. It's not 1 to 1.
- 13:35So I'd someone, maybe you, you'd stash on your bench, see how he
- 13:40does late rounds. Yeah, it could be a still in a
- 13:44later round because he's gonna get opportunities, obviously.
- 13:46He's gonna get important, he's gonna get definitely get more
- 13:48starts depending on how his form is.
- 13:50But it all depends on how he fits in on that team.
- 13:53Yeah, I think every person who drafts, they have couple of
- 13:56rounds where they want to take. You know what, I'm happy with
- 13:58the players that drafted. Let me take some players that
- 14:01could surprise be surprisingly well and I would put him along
- 14:05those in that category. So I agree.
- 14:11OK And then the last little bit of news is rumors of Douglas
- 14:15Louise to Arsenal. He was he boy he's at Villa.
- 14:19He's kind of like he's actually one of the few like deep lying
- 14:22midfielders that is interesting just because he has such good
- 14:25distribution. He's technically really good.
- 14:28I think he takes a lot of their free kicks and corners and stuff
- 14:30for for Villa. So it was he was he was
- 14:34interesting at Arsenal. I don't know.
- 14:36I don't know. I think he could be a, he could
- 14:38be a very interesting like late round pick bench player that
- 14:42ends up scoring a really good amount of points.
- 14:45Take the take Jacques role, you know, like that type of type of
- 14:49player which I think would have value for a fantasy team.
- 14:53What do you guys say? I I just don't think how much
- 14:55time he's gonna be on the pitch. Obviously you pay rise that much
- 14:59money. He's gonna play with the with
- 15:01the Arsenal. I think it's similar with
- 15:03Chelsea. They have a lot of in the
- 15:04midfield, a lot of players. So once until they get the
- 15:07rotation, now you know who's gonna get the minutes, you know
- 15:09who's not gonna get the minutes. So it's a player that probably
- 15:13should get drafted and just hold on to it, see if it's worth it
- 15:17or not, and if you'll hit them or not.
- 15:20But again, it's just one of those things where where is he
- 15:22gonna fit in and how many minutes is he gonna play a game?
- 15:27Yeah, it's just it's Arteta being Mini Pet, like he's trying
- 15:29to build a team with death he's he now knows he's in Champions
- 15:33League. So he knows he's going to have a
- 15:35lot of game playing, you know, I mean they're going to be pushing
- 15:38for the league, Cup, FA Cup, League, Champions League.
- 15:40So now they're going FA Cup to deal with this season.
- 15:43So adding the actual debt is very important.
- 15:46But is he going to be every game star And he's mentioned free
- 15:51kicks, I don't see him taking them over Odengard, honestly.
- 15:55So he's he's not going to be doing that that much.
- 15:58He might come on for Odengard and take over the role as a sub,
- 16:01but starring he won't take that. You won't get those points.
- 16:05Yeah, you guys are probably right.
- 16:06Probably being a little too optimistic.
- 16:09And sorry, one last bit of news I just realized.
- 16:12Harvey Barnes, Newcastle leaving Leicester City.
- 16:15That's rumored. It sounds like it's gonna
- 16:17happen. And so you're not in your head.
- 16:18What do you think? It's great.
- 16:20It's great business, man. New cars.
- 16:21I'm not relying. They've done some great freaking
- 16:24business over the last couple years.
- 16:26But don't get wrong, when they first got bought out, they were
- 16:28fighting for. Fighting for survival in the
- 16:32Premiership but since then they've just thrived like the
- 16:34players they've developed that they've had.
- 16:36Honestly, we I used to think that Maximum was their best
- 16:39player, but he ain't. He's just another fancy
- 16:41footballer from France. But the players they have for
- 16:45like the Senate back. What's his name into it?
- 16:49B Botton Botman Botman. Great by Isaac Steel.
- 16:55Who? Who?
- 16:56Who would have seen Isaac playing at Newcastle?
- 16:59Bonds on that left doing some creativity.
- 17:02It's a great buy for a good freaking price.
- 17:04So they're one of those things that has money, but they're not
- 17:06just fucking throwing dollar bills out there, they're
- 17:09actually building a team. So goodbye.
- 17:11Do you have any thoughts? Great buy just to what I said
- 17:15before, anytime player goes from the same league, stays within
- 17:19the same League, Premier League to Premier League is going to
- 17:22face the same competition that team like you said.
- 17:25It's they're not just throwing money at random players just to
- 17:27get big names. They'll just they get players
- 17:29that fed, that go well with each other, play well with each
- 17:32other. So this is the player and it's I
- 17:35also like drafting players that from teams that I enjoy
- 17:39watching. So if Barnes is I, I think he'll
- 17:43definitely bring value to fantasy, value to the to the
- 17:48team. I agree.
- 17:51I think as a goal scoring winger I think that's something that
- 17:55Newcastle could really use, you know, not just like this
- 17:58creative playmaker cuz Barnes scores goals and he scores goals
- 18:01from out wide and cutting in and I think that's he's exciting.
- 18:05I think same with Madison, where I'm excited to see what he can
- 18:08do on a top four, top five, top six team as opposed to a
- 18:13relegation team. You know, and I think that
- 18:15that's the next level he needs, needs and he could be a England
- 18:18player for years to come if he really kind of turns it up and
- 18:22steps up that notch, you know, goes up one level.
- 18:25OK, let's move on to the next segment.
- 18:28It's called Love, Hate. We're just gonna talk about two
- 18:30players, just kind of random, just that we really like and we
- 18:35like them for maybe where they're going in the draft.
- 18:37We like them for their potential.
- 18:38We just, you know, we can kind of talk about why we like them
- 18:40and then two players that we think are either overhyped or we
- 18:43just really don't feel confident in.
- 18:45And so let's go 111. So we'll start with, we'll start
- 18:47with Enzo. Enzo, what's What's one player
- 18:50that you like, I absolutely love and are really excited about?
- 18:53There's only only Totland players that I love, so Human
- 18:57son I think is going to go pretty low in the draw.
- 18:59He's not going to go top ten like he did last season, I don't
- 19:01think. I think he'll he'll drop down to
- 19:03the second round the least and I think that's a great still.
- 19:06I know top two is still high up, but he had a bad start to last
- 19:10season, great finish. I watched a friendly that
- 19:14Totland played. I know it was just a friendly,
- 19:15but watching the star, I know we lost.
- 19:18But if you watch the star play, that Angie's playing.
- 19:21It looks more more fun to watch, more creative, more attacking.
- 19:25So that's going to open up more for for Sun with the additions
- 19:29that we've made in the midfield, that's going to take off some
- 19:31pressure of him coming in deep because we saw him coming deep a
- 19:34lot trying to defend even with that back five.
- 19:37So we were just putting up the putting the bus up and it wasn't
- 19:40working. So I think Sun this season he's
- 19:43going to be underrated and he's going to score at least fifteen
- 19:47goals. You hear it first.
- 19:49Yeah. I think it's hard to argue that
- 19:50he's not going to be better than last year.
- 19:52I think that's. I think I totally agree with
- 19:56you. Again, I think the uncertainty
- 19:57is what, but we've talked about a few times just the new coach
- 20:00and the uncertainty of where he plays and where he fits.
- 20:02But I, you know, you have a little more insight.
- 20:04You're watching the preseason games.
- 20:06I'd definitely be interested if he's there mid second round or
- 20:09something. I I think it would be a no
- 20:10brainer. Snap him up, Tiko.
- 20:13What do you think? Do you have a who's who's a
- 20:15player you're loving? A player of is Gabriel
- 20:19Martinelli. I I've been a fan of his don't
- 20:24give me that face and so I'm a fan of his.
- 20:26He plays on the left and I think last last season one Jesus went
- 20:30down. He stepped it up.
- 20:33He he reminds me a lot of Venice Junior where he does everything
- 20:37well. Once he gets inside the box it's
- 20:39kind of his decision making. He shoots at the goalie.
- 20:43He doesn't really. His finishing is not there and
- 20:46gonna get better with that. And I am.
- 20:47I've been. I am a big got the Martin Lee
- 20:50fan. I think this year he's gonna put
- 20:52up more goals. He's gonna average over 10
- 20:54points per game. He was right at the cusp last
- 20:57year. It was I think like 9.59 point
- 20:596. So I think Martinelli will crack
- 21:02at least 10 points per average over 10 points per fantasy
- 21:06start. How How the hell did you compare
- 21:09him to vinnicious? Martinelli runs with his head
- 21:13down. That's the reason he can't score
- 21:15and that's the reason why he's got no good contributions into
- 21:18the box, because he kicks that ball 10 yards, 20 yards ahead of
- 21:21him and thinks he can run around every single player in the
- 21:24Premiership. That's not going to happen.
- 21:25I think he's a good player if he fixes that and he puts his head
- 21:27up, but. Comparing him to vennicious?
- 21:31Shame on you as a Real Madrid fan.
- 21:33Shame on you. Did you see Vennicious play the
- 21:36first year at Real Madrid? I'm.
- 21:37I watched a couple games. There we go.
- 21:39Once he got in the box, then he just was looking at the ball,
- 21:42looking at the goalie, looking at who's the pass and he just
- 21:45couldn't decide what option to make.
- 21:47Yeah, I actually think Martinelli is a good point.
- 21:49I think something interesting is when you look at, you know, you
- 21:54guys, you guys done glaring at each other.
- 21:58Can I talk now? I think it's a good point.
- 22:01I think the with when you look at Martinell and you look at
- 22:04soccer, the median points for start, so like the median
- 22:09average they're both around 13 so not points per game.
- 22:12It's like points where they points per when they started a
- 22:14game and played it and then so they're in that sense they're
- 22:18very similar, like there wasn't, there wasn't as huge of a
- 22:22difference between them, points wise as you might think and I
- 22:26think partially because soccer started more games.
- 22:29But yeah, I think, I think if he takes an, you know, he continues
- 22:33to grow, I think you could see him easily spotting into the top
- 22:37ten players this season and you know, getting him mid, second,
- 22:42mid, second round and being a top ten player, that's you love
- 22:45that. You let you love that risk.
- 22:50For me, my pick for my first one is Morgan Gibbs White on on
- 22:55Nottingham Forest. Normally I try and stay away
- 22:58from players like that, which are players not on teams not in
- 23:01the top six that had a good season.
- 23:04Normally I'm like, oh, I'd rather not risk it.
- 23:06I'd rather be safe. When I look at more games white,
- 23:09I look at a player that he's a midfielder but he really plays
- 23:12more in a forward position for force.
- 23:14He played more in a forward position for England at the U21
- 23:18EUR. He was literally like playing
- 23:19striker for them, the U21 Euros. And I think that he is just like
- 23:24everything good that Forrest did last year went through him and
- 23:28you know, he had a couple like amazing highlight plays for
- 23:31them. I think he's just like a really
- 23:33good player. I think he's gonna continue to
- 23:34grow. Probably the most consistent
- 23:37performer on I, you know, I picked him and then I started
- 23:42looking at other people's draft rankings and realized that he
- 23:44was actually, he's actually going in like the late 2nd,
- 23:47early 3rd, which I think it's like actually.
- 23:51A little crazy, I, but I also think that a lot of people are
- 23:54gonna overlook him in drafts because they're not gonna the
- 23:56name, the name recognition isn't there.
- 23:58There's other people around him that might go first.
- 24:01So if he drops into like the late 3rd, early 4th, Oh my God,
- 24:04I think that's like an amazing pickup.
- 24:06He scored over 400 points last season, his split between like
- 24:11before, before the World Cup and after.
- 24:13He was, he was scoring like almost 11 points per start after
- 24:16the World Cup. And I think that's just
- 24:17phenomenal and I think he's exciting and 1:00 to watch for.
- 24:21Primarily again for England. Completely agree.
- 24:26I think he was a great player, great pickup for Forrest last
- 24:29season. Every game was outstanding.
- 24:31He just got better with every game.
- 24:33And then watched him on the England Under 20 ones with, you
- 24:35know, the Three Lions right here, they did really, really
- 24:38well. He was very, very much on the
- 24:41pitch, very much about being on the ball, distributing left and
- 24:45right. You know, I think he scored
- 24:47what, two goals, Two goals in the in the tournament?
- 24:50He did really well. But yeah, if he goes to third or
- 24:53fourth round, I think you're right Keith, completely right.
- 24:56He doesn't have the name cuz he doesn't have the name.
- 24:58He's gonna drop lower and force. If you don't watch the
- 25:00Premiership you won't know these little gems out there and he'll
- 25:04drop low. If he does, I don't think he'll
- 25:05drop low in our league. I think a lot of us do watch the
- 25:07Prem, but you need to watch the Prem to know who to pick up.
- 25:11Yeah. All right, let's move on to
- 25:12Enzo, your second love for the season.
- 25:15I'm going back to Isaac. I think he was what, injured
- 25:19like maybe 1/3 of the season last season I I watched him.
- 25:23He's been playing on for a few years, but he's amazing.
- 25:26When he gets in that box, he's like a he's like what's his
- 25:32name? I hate it.
- 25:32I hate to compare him to a French player.
- 25:34He used to play a front treasure gay For me.
- 25:38He plays like a treasure gay. Great in the air, good with his
- 25:42feet can create. He's unself.
- 25:43He's not selfish. Which we score can score goals.
- 25:46I think with this Newcastle team, especially the additions
- 25:48they're adding and him getting used to having one season of
- 25:51Prem second season, he's gonna knock out the part man.
- 25:54He should go high. Yeah, I think he's exciting.
- 25:57I think he's really exciting. I think especially with
- 25:58Newcastle just on the ascendancy, my one question with
- 26:01him is do him and Wilson play together and if so, does he play
- 26:05a wide or do they play as a two? Like, I'm curious to see with
- 26:09him and Wilson. Like, the thing with Wilson is
- 26:10that he gets injured a lot and then Isaac consulted with that
- 26:12nine. But like.
- 26:14When the games that they're both healthy, where does he play and
- 26:16how does that affect him? Fantasy .1.
- 26:20I think he starts over Wilson. Don't go wrong.
- 26:21I like Wilson, Been in the Premiership for years, played
- 26:25for several clubs. But with Isaac, with the money
- 26:28they pay for him, he starts over him and we have bonds and they
- 26:31still have maximum. They haven't sold him yet.
- 26:34They'll start those two over Over Wilson, Wilson come off as
- 26:37a sub. Tico Who do you have for your
- 26:39second love? I have Reese James.
- 26:41I'm bullish on him. I think he's going to have a
- 26:43very good year. It is going to have a bounce
- 26:45back if he's especially if he stays healthy which is a big if.
- 26:49But I'm a I'm a fan of Reese James.
- 26:51I like his game. I like what he does for him just
- 26:55going up and down obviously the the right side and I actually
- 26:59was, I know there was talk Keith as a Chelsea fan of them selling
- 27:03him to Real Madrid and I was really excited for it.
- 27:05Unfortunately didn't go through, but I love reach James.
- 27:09I'm not sure what his average draft position is, but I feel
- 27:11like he's gonna be top, maybe top five defender probably.
- 27:16So that's a player I would love to get spicy if he drops.
- 27:19Yeah, I think he's probably the only other defender other than
- 27:23Trent and trip year that could challenge for that number one
- 27:25spot in the in the Premier League for defenders.
- 27:28I think he if he stays healthy he has the potential to be the
- 27:31best, highest scoring, best defender in the league.
- 27:34I think with him it's just. Health, it's just about saying
- 27:38fit for a whole year, which he hasn't done for two years now.
- 27:41So it's a little concerning. But when he's on the pitch, it's
- 27:43like it's so noticeable just how dominant he is and how important
- 27:48he is to the team. So it's a good one.
- 27:51On my next one, I actually have two.
- 27:53I have kind of like, you know, I have like the hipster pick in
- 27:55me, which is like the, I have one that's like a little more
- 27:59obscure. And then I have like a very
- 28:00basic, you know, top 20 pick. So what do you guys, What do you
- 28:05guys? Who would you rather hear me
- 28:06talk about? I want the hipster pick.
- 28:08I want the hipster pick. All right, let's go Jao, Pedro
- 28:11Brighton. We've talked about him a little
- 28:13bit in the transfer last season. I'm really excited for him
- 28:17because I think he did really well at Watford.
- 28:20He reminds me of kind of mitrovic, where you're just
- 28:22finding the gem from that goes later in the draft that people
- 28:27are just uncertain of and. When you look at Joe Pedro, he's
- 28:30young, he's going to a bright inside that's incredibly good.
- 28:33Let's see their record transfer signing.
- 28:35So you know he's gonna get playing time.
- 28:36I think there's no way that he gets like kind of pushed off to
- 28:39the side in favor of other play, you know, in favor of like
- 28:41Pascal Gross or something like that.
- 28:42I think he's gonna be starting in a high position.
- 28:45I think his only real competition is like Danny
- 28:46Welbeck, which I again, I don't, I'm not super concerned about.
- 28:50So I think he's. I just think he's going to be
- 28:53very good. I think he scores goals in
- 28:54several different ways. I think he can come off the left
- 28:57if he wants. I think he can also play as a
- 28:58#9. I just think that Brighton team
- 29:02is going to be good and I agree with kind of what Enzo said in
- 29:05the past, that they have lost a lot of players, but Brighton has
- 29:09lost a lot of players for several years now and they
- 29:11always find really good replacements and I think this is
- 29:14a really good replacement. I think where he's going and
- 29:16like the, I don't even know, like 6th, 7th, eighth, round.
- 29:20I think that's that could be like a freaking lottery like
- 29:23that, could just like that could win you a league.
- 29:25I get anything like that, he's going like the 6th or 7th like
- 29:28that could win you a league. If he's ends up being a 400 plus
- 29:31point player with, you know, 300 plus point player and you get
- 29:35him there, I think it's just like an awesome pickup.
- 29:37Yeah. Well, I spoke about it before,
- 29:38Brian, and I'll speak about it a little bit later on also.
- 29:42But I think they've lost too much.
- 29:45And they haven't done enough to replace.
- 29:47Unless they got something in their youth team that's going to
- 29:49come up that we don't know about or there's a lot of transfer
- 29:53window left. They still got time to replace
- 29:55the trossards. They're probably going to lose
- 29:59Sasedo. I don't see them standing by.
- 30:01I don't know. We just signed a new contract.
- 30:02But if the right price comes along, Brian's that team that
- 30:05will take that price. I'm just worried about Brian and
- 30:08being another, like I said before, another Leicester
- 30:12peaking and then just dropping and selling all their players
- 30:15and then. Throwing money.
- 30:16I ain't trying to buy players like Tillermans and things like
- 30:18that. I don't think it's gonna work.
- 30:22Yeah, I mean it's a risk. I mean, I think that's why it's
- 30:24going in the 6th. I don't think it's like a nailed
- 30:26on gonna be a sure thing, but I think it's an exciting,
- 30:30interesting risk. Alright, it's got the players
- 30:32that we hate. Enzo, who's somebody you'd hate?
- 30:36Don't like gross this season. I know he had a great season
- 30:38last season, but just like I said before, Brian.
- 30:42They've lost a lot of players, a lot of creativity.
- 30:44He's not gonna have the same chance as he had last season.
- 30:47He's gonna go. I've got a feeling when people
- 30:49start looking at statistics, he's gonna go quite high and in
- 30:52the in the draft, but I'm gonna stay far, far away from him.
- 30:54I don't think he's gonna do the same.
- 30:55Yeah, I agree. I actually was pretty often last
- 30:58year. I remember he had a really good
- 30:59start to the season. He I like first two games or
- 31:01first game he scored or scored two goals.
- 31:03And I was like looking at stats from every year before that.
- 31:06And I was thinking, this is like seems unsustainable.
- 31:10And then, you know, he had like kind of an an anomaly year last
- 31:13year. I think he's playing higher up
- 31:14the pitch than he normally does. I think with McAllister leaving,
- 31:18Cassado maybe leaving and then the arrival of players like Joe
- 31:21Pedro, he's not gonna be playing as high up the pitch as he was.
- 31:24So I think he's gonna be playing in more of a like a true
- 31:27midfield role. And I think he's not gonna have
- 31:29the same numbers. I totally I think it's a really
- 31:31good really good hate T code you got.
- 31:34So mine is something we touch bases on earlier today.
- 31:38It's Harry Kane. I would hate to draft them
- 31:41because I do believe he's, he will be Byron player.
- 31:45Sorry Enzo but like you said if you draft someone on the top 3-4
- 31:50and they're not they they might not be on the team.
- 31:52I would just not draft them To me, I would, it would be a hard
- 31:55pass for me. So that's a player I would hate
- 31:57to draft. I have a question for your Tico,
- 31:58Where would you draft him? So let me go through the list
- 32:03for SO for the players. So I would say players I would
- 32:06try to draft before him, obviously Holland, KDB,
- 32:10Fernandez, Mostala or Degaard. I would take all of those before
- 32:14him. Soccer soccer trip here.
- 32:17Really. So you're going all the way down
- 32:20for you? He's going in the in the second
- 32:22round or the end of the first and the first, yeah, And then
- 32:26and I'm just gonna draft them to trade him to Enzo for, you know,
- 32:29a couple of good players. God, I don't even think if if
- 32:32we're small about it. And I don't know, we got some.
- 32:35There's actually a couple total fans in this draft.
- 32:37If we're smart, we don't draft him in the first round or the
- 32:40second round just because of I'm very close to the room as I
- 32:43check him every day. I'm right there with Teego.
- 32:46I hate to say it, but it looks as if he's going to go and even
- 32:51if he doesn't go, I don't. I still don't think that's going
- 32:53to be good for Tom. He's still going to perform, but
- 32:54is he going to go all out like he has done?
- 32:56I don't think so. You don't want to get injured.
- 32:57He'll probably wait for January and then that.
- 33:00Time in will local the hell out of Levy and he won't take it and
- 33:03it will go free the end of the season.
- 33:05But I agree with Tick. I don't think he's the only
- 33:08thing I disagree with is that he's going to go to the end of
- 33:10the first. I think late second even because
- 33:13there's so many players in the Premiership that you're
- 33:15guaranteed to get those points. Harry Canes, with the transfer
- 33:19window going what, a week, week and 1/2 into the season, you
- 33:22have no clue what's going to happen.
- 33:24So we'll only time will tell. Man, I I think, like, logically
- 33:29what you guys are saying makes so much sense.
- 33:30But that that like the greed and the temptation of being like,
- 33:33imagine picking up like Mohammed Salah as a third pick and then
- 33:36coming to like the end of the second and like Kerry Kane's
- 33:40still there. Like, obviously you're gonna
- 33:41take him. But even like, I think if I'm
- 33:43like the 10th pick and I get someone like Marcus Rashford or
- 33:47Odegarden, I'm gonna be like like, fuck yeah, I'll take Kane.
- 33:51Like it could be a disaster, but like I could that also could win
- 33:54me the league right there, like you know.
- 33:56So I think it's like a risk reward thing and I I don't know
- 34:00I if he goes that far, if he's in the second round, I think I
- 34:03take him no matter what just like I think the risk is worth
- 34:06it in the second round for the, you know the number one player
- 34:09last season who's gonna probably be if he's plays it's gonna
- 34:12almost guaranteed to be a barring injury to be a top five,
- 34:16top even top three player. So I think that's, I think it's
- 34:19honestly a very tricky situation.
- 34:22So I think it's when because it is a snake draft, if you're, you
- 34:26know, top three, you're not going to get another pick until
- 34:2817/18/19. So that's a risk because you're
- 34:31essentially going to be one top 7-8 player, a chance to draft
- 34:35it. But if since it's a snake
- 34:36drafting you're you know 9-10, you could kind of go
- 34:39back-to-back like you know we're getting one shirt thing player,
- 34:43top ten player and then I I'm willing to take a gamble on
- 34:45Harry Kane. Whereas if you're top three,
- 34:48it's more difficult to take that gamble.
- 34:51I I agree. I think that's the right way to
- 34:52look at it. All right, moving on to mine on
- 34:55I picked Pedro Poro from Tottenham as my, hey, really
- 34:58good cross of the ball. I think he was brought in to
- 35:00play wingback by Conte, I don't think, and Pasa Coglu is going
- 35:04to play a wingback system. And I think Poro when he played
- 35:07in the back four last season, got absolutely demolished by a
- 35:10few different teams. I remember there was a Newcastle
- 35:12game in particular that they just collapsed and he got worked
- 35:16down that side. I don't think he wants to
- 35:18defend. I think in the back four you
- 35:19need to defend. I, you know, I'm not sure if and
- 35:23is gonna try and fit him into that role and maybe he learns.
- 35:26But I just think that where he's going to drafts right now like
- 35:28in the third round, like the third, fourth round, like to me
- 35:32that's like that's gonna be the first defender on your team.
- 35:34You're gonna want to build around.
- 35:36You're gonna want to build your back four around that defender.
- 35:38And if you're gonna pick one in the third or fourth round.
- 35:40And I don't think Poros the type of guy you want to build around.
- 35:44You know, I think that's just too much risk.
- 35:45I don't know if he's, I don't think he's a nailed on to start
- 35:47every game. So I think that he where he's
- 35:49going and drafts, I think there's a lot of like a lack of
- 35:52awareness about just positionally what he's capable
- 35:56of and positionally what Totnum are gonna do.
- 35:58Completely agree. I wasn't his biggest fan last
- 36:01season. He cannot defend, does not like
- 36:05to run back. He's gonna concede goals, he's
- 36:07gonna leave and you know. It's Tottenham, man.
- 36:10We what we have the scored a lot of goals but we learn a lot of
- 36:13goals and that's not what you want from a defender.
- 36:15Yeah, he created a lot and he was great when he was moving up
- 36:18up the final third of the pitch, but his job is to defend, in my
- 36:22opinion. And he just doesn't know.
- 36:24It's in the Premiership, how fast it is, high pressure.
- 36:28It's tough and I don't think he's adapted yet.
- 36:31He might adapt this season. We don't know.
- 36:32We don't know what Angie's gonna do.
- 36:34But yeah, I would do. Yeah, I think for this one it's
- 36:37all about where he's going in the draft.
- 36:39So I think where he's going to me is just that's just a big red
- 36:41flag. Let's move on to Enzo.
- 36:43Your your second hate hate #2 Who you got?
- 36:47Second hate was oh, sorry Keith. It was in Cunku.
- 36:55There's all this hype around him and he's he's in my opinion,
- 36:59I've watched him play. He's exciting but does it
- 37:02translate to the Premiership and and I know I'm a big I'm a big
- 37:06support of the Premiership and I'm a big supporters of bringing
- 37:08in outside talent to try and prove it.
- 37:09But we've seen it that most players that come to the
- 37:12Premiership, it's it's a tough transition that first year he's
- 37:17going to get bullied by the centerbags of the matter, if
- 37:19it's. What team it is, Even Lou and
- 37:22those defenders, they're gonna play dirty and they're gonna
- 37:24knock into him, push him, budge him the German league.
- 37:27I don't think he he's even experienced that.
- 37:30So I don't think he's gonna be that big.
- 37:34I might be in my words halfway through the season and you
- 37:36remind me of it, I'm sure, but I don't think so.
- 37:40Yeah. And so I understand that.
- 37:41I think where he's going in the third, mid third, you have to.
- 37:46I mean it's it's definitely a little bit of a risky pick I
- 37:48think in the Bundesliga. It's such more of a transition
- 37:51league where they play so much more on transition and he does
- 37:53that really well. You can see that against
- 37:55Wrexham, I think he struggled a little bit when they were he was
- 37:57playing up against a little block.
- 37:59Of course he was playing in the 9:00, not the 10, where I think
- 38:01he will play. But I yeah, I mean I get it.
- 38:06I Chelsea's such an unknown. I think it's such a big risk to
- 38:10pick him as to be the guy on your team, one of the most
- 38:12important players when you don't really know what Chelsea's going
- 38:13to do, what they're going to look like.
- 38:15So I think that's a super valid. Solid shout.
- 38:19I still think he's good, but I'm also I might have a little bit
- 38:21of a fandom colored lenses going on.
- 38:24I might. You might, just because I've
- 38:25been reading way too many Chelsea articles.
- 38:27But I totally understand that as I hate, especially with the hype
- 38:29surrounding on Tico. Who do you have your hate #2?
- 38:33So for my Hate #2, I have Jack Grillish.
- 38:37I do think Grillish will overall have a good season, but I do
- 38:40think he will get off to a rocky start just because he's been
- 38:43partying the entire offseason. And I think he's gonna be out of
- 38:46shape. He's gonna be hungover from all
- 38:48the alcohol he's been drinking. So I do think overall Grillish
- 38:51will bounce back and have a better second-half of the
- 38:53season. But I think for the beginning of
- 38:56the year, the way Grillish will start will be slow.
- 38:58And for a team that is probably not doing well at someone that
- 39:02you probably would look to trade.
- 39:04So I would probably stay away from him unless it's at a draft
- 39:07position where it's a very good value.
- 39:09But besides that Grillish is my hate #2.
- 39:12Yeah, when you look at Grillish, true.
- 39:13It's like he. He had such a good second-half
- 39:16of the season and so much of that was down to Pep starting
- 39:20every game. And so if he's not gonna get
- 39:23that, like, Pep, start that cosign from Pep to start every
- 39:26game, I don't know. Yeah, I can see where that would
- 39:30make sense, you know? And so, do you have any thoughts
- 39:33on Grillish being on Tico's hate list?
- 39:37I don't think he loses his sport.
- 39:39He did well last season. I know Phil Foden is another one
- 39:43that I can't believe that he's not starting.
- 39:46But with all that talent, I think it's gonna just be
- 39:50rotation again. But I feel, I still feel like
- 39:53Grillish is gonna play games because he's he's that kind of
- 39:57player. He gets fouls, he gets a lot of
- 39:59fouls. That guy likes to fall, fall on
- 40:00the floor. I think that if Grillish is
- 40:03nailed in the way that Holland and the Brenner are and like
- 40:06nailed in for for City is like 2726 games, I guess it's not
- 40:11even it's not even 30 plus you know, but like it's still enough
- 40:16to get you enough points. But if Grillish is playing 25
- 40:19plus it's good. I think if his, the risk with
- 40:23him is if he is the he does come back out of shape or he does
- 40:26kind of a dip in form, he starts being benched.
- 40:29That would suck to have that happen and have them be your,
- 40:32you know, second round pick until I get that all right.
- 40:34My second hate is another defender.
- 40:37Actually, I thought that that'd be good to have a few different
- 40:40defenders on there is Andy Robertson the way that they're
- 40:44the way that Liverpool are playing now with Trent dropping
- 40:47into the midfield, it kind of forces Andy Robertson to stay
- 40:49back and almost play in like a back three.
- 40:52And I think all his skill is running on the running down the
- 40:54line sending good balls in being a nuisance and attack and like
- 40:58he can't get stuck in. He's a really good defender.
- 41:00But I just think that all his like kind of all the benefits of
- 41:05him in the last few years are are gone like go away when when
- 41:08this new system. So unless if they don't, if
- 41:11they're not gonna implement a new system into the new year
- 41:14into the new season then I think he's gonna be just like almost
- 41:17like played like a center back. He's gonna get like center back
- 41:19style points. He's not gonna bet like without
- 41:22the fact that he's not 6 foot and can't win a ton of headers.
- 41:25So I think that he is a little bit of a risky pick or like
- 41:29gonna be an underwhelming pick. Even if he does go in the 5th,
- 41:316th, I still don't think he's gonna be.
- 41:33I think he's almost gonna be. You almost need to draft him
- 41:35like a center back, which is not ideal for a player like that,
- 41:39especially a player like it's someone you don't want to fall
- 41:41into. The trap of name recognition
- 41:42being like, oh, I know who that is.
- 41:44I've seen him cause havoc for Liverpool in the past and know
- 41:47that, but I think now his role is different and the formation
- 41:50is different. I don't think he's gonna have
- 41:51the opportunity to do that as much.
- 41:52Yeah, I picked him second round. He didn't do well last season.
- 41:56I agree with you off in the the whole formation is changing,
- 42:00transforming. Klopp is going a different way
- 42:02because he understands he has a different team.
- 42:05I don't think he's gonna do as much in this liberal team.
- 42:07He's not like you say, he's not gonna be able to run up the up
- 42:09and down that. Then side put in good balls.
- 42:11But again, clock changes all the time and he's bringing in these
- 42:14players that can probably hold the middle, so maybe they go
- 42:18back. Maybe Trent still moves up,
- 42:20maybe moves in that central, or maybe they rotate, We don't
- 42:23know. But yeah, I agree.
- 42:25I don't think any Robertson's the best pick to pick early.
- 42:28All right. Let's move on to the next
- 42:29segment, which I just called Risky Business.
- 42:32And it's a player that we think is just like really risky, but
- 42:37just the upside is might be worth it.
- 42:40Like there's there's a big chance he fails, but there's
- 42:42also a big chance that he could like win your league.
- 42:44And so, Tico, who do you have? So from for my risky I have
- 42:48Reese James who I think will have a bounce back here.
- 42:50I think Chelsea overall will do perform better as a team and
- 42:55Reese James, whenever he is healthy, he's been producing
- 42:57high numbers for fantasy. I like him going up and down the
- 43:00the flying. Obviously he's gonna win you a
- 43:03lot of. He's gonna have a lot of
- 43:05process, He's gonna win a lot of 1 on ones and he's gonna pass
- 43:08this. So I'm very high on Reese James.
- 43:10I do think he will have a bounce back here and I'm bullish on
- 43:13him. I have him.
- 43:15And all across my leagues, I'm gonna try to aim to draft Reese
- 43:18James. I think he could be the number
- 43:20one defender in all of fantasy. I think he has that potential.
- 43:24I think there's maybe only like 2 other players that have that
- 43:25potential. And so I think if he's it's all
- 43:28about health. I think if he stays healthy,
- 43:30he's gonna be one of the top defenders in the league.
- 43:32If he gets injured again, he's still going to score your points
- 43:35when he plays. But it's just it's a risk.
- 43:38It's a big risk. Enzo, who do you have?
- 43:40It's a similar situation to Kane.
- 43:42It's going to be Mitovic. I think he had a great season
- 43:44last season, but he's another disgruntled forward that is
- 43:47trying to move to the rich country of Saudi Arabia he
- 43:52wants. He's upset with Fulham for
- 43:54turning down bids already, so picking him up is going to be
- 43:57the same thing for Kane. I think he's a solid striker
- 44:00that's going to get you goals. Is he gonna be a top goal
- 44:02scorer? No, but he's gonna, he's gonna
- 44:04get you 12 plus, I feel. But with the way things are
- 44:07going, he wants his money, he wants to get his payday.
- 44:09So picking him up early is gonna be it's gonna be risky to do
- 44:12that. So he's my risky business.
- 44:16If you pick him up, it could be diamonds because.
- 44:19He's gonna score you 12 goals, but he could leave before the
- 44:21transfer window and he could leave in January.
- 44:23So you don't want to waste an early pick on Mitrovic.
- 44:26Yeah. Even if he stays, he seems like
- 44:28he's such an emotional guy and an emotional player like him.
- 44:31An unhappy Mitrovic isn't. He's not like a profession.
- 44:33He's not like a Harry Kane in my mind, or he's like a like a
- 44:35consummate professional. He's if he stays, he's just
- 44:37gonna do his job and do it well. I think he could really cause a
- 44:41storm in the process. And even if he does stay, I
- 44:44think an unhappy Mitrovic is not a goal scoring Mitrovic.
- 44:48So I I agree. I think that's a very dangerous
- 44:50one. I kind of have a I kind of
- 44:53doubled up. I think the, you know right now
- 44:56in drafts slowly March and Kyra Metoma, both Brighton players
- 44:59are going 1718 in in the draft and I think, I don't think
- 45:03people are talking about how risky that is right now.
- 45:06I think we don't know what Breton's gonna look like.
- 45:08I think everyone's really high on them.
- 45:10They're really hyped. I think they're missing key
- 45:13midfielders and if Kasido goes to, that's just like a huge part
- 45:17of the team. And these other guys are not
- 45:19going to be as effective when they don't have midfield players
- 45:22to win them the ball back and pass on the ball and do all
- 45:24those things that Kisedo and that, you know McAllister did
- 45:31for them. So I think that that's
- 45:33concerning and it's kind of scary and you know, solely
- 45:37March, like you know, he's, he had a phenomenal season, scored
- 45:40a lot of goals. He's like 28.
- 45:42He's not young. He's not like, I don't know is
- 45:45deserving gonna get the most out of them again?
- 45:47I don't know. I think there's a lot of
- 45:48uncertainty and I think that those teams that have a good
- 45:52year, that doesn't necessarily automatically mean they're gonna
- 45:55have another good year. Now they're playing in Europe
- 45:57too so they're gonna be playing in the the Europa.
- 46:00So it's like geez, I don't know. I don't have more games.
- 46:04I'm just a little concerned about those guys.
- 46:05But if they have the same season they did last year, well holy
- 46:08shit they are. I think they're gonna be.
- 46:11I think especially Silly Marsh, if he plays the way he did in
- 46:14the second-half of last season, all next year he's going to be a
- 46:16top ten player. And it's going to be like it's
- 46:19going to be crazy. And it's going to be a really
- 46:21good story for a 28 year old to be kind of brought from just
- 46:25being like very obscure, relatively, you know, unknown to
- 46:29people that aren't obsessed with the Premier League to all of a
- 46:31sudden being a superstar. So yeah, I think those are the
- 46:34guys to me that are risky, that could really pay off and could
- 46:38and could win you a league if they perform like they are kind
- 46:43of being drafted to do. I agree.
- 46:46But it's going to be a lot of ifs and buts there.
- 46:48You know, I mean, like, yes, again, it's like you said, we
- 46:52pick them up later and they do what they do it diamonds in the
- 46:55rough, but are they going to do what they're going to do?
- 46:57Like you said, they're going to put more emphasis probably on
- 47:01Europe because you want to stay in Europe.
- 47:02That's where the money is. So they want to go further, but
- 47:05will they stay further? Will those games put a toll on
- 47:07those players, on how they play? Because playing in Premiership
- 47:11and then playing in Europe is two different types of football
- 47:14and it's not how it translates. And if you're playing all those
- 47:17extra games and you stay in the League Cup and you stay in the
- 47:19FA Cup because you're going to put emphasis on those too.
- 47:21Because those are the ones that especially the League Cup.
- 47:23In the F Cup anyone can win it even though it's the same teams
- 47:26every year. But you can get far enough to
- 47:27get to the final and have a chance.
- 47:29But solly March, I said you had a great start like sort of
- 47:34tailed off near the end but he still had a great season.
- 47:36Is he going to do the same thing like you said with all those
- 47:38players going and? I'm I'm thinking, so sado goes,
- 47:42maybe not even in the Premiership.
- 47:43You might go somewhere else. In Europe there's all these
- 47:45things looking. I agree.
- 47:47I agree with you kids. If if it goes like last year,
- 47:49great. But if it doesn't, which I don't
- 47:51think it's gonna be, it's gonna be picks lost.
- 47:54Alright, let's move on to like a little bit more of a fun section
- 47:56called Wild Predictions. Just our just our hot take which
- 47:59is our craziest. Like not really.
- 48:02We're not super accountable for these, but just something that
- 48:05we think might happen that it's just absolutely out of the pale
- 48:13and I'm looking at yours now you want to start?
- 48:15Yeah, like, also fans, I'm sorry.
- 48:18You can hate me, but you're not going to come top four this
- 48:21season. You're not.
- 48:23I really don't think that's my hot take.
- 48:24I don't think, I don't think you're going to come top four.
- 48:26And this is the one time I'm going to say is Parley's the top
- 48:29of the fan. I don't want you to come top 4.
- 48:32But with this team and you're building, I think you're going
- 48:34to have a hangover from last season.
- 48:36You're going to be playing Champions League, you're going
- 48:38to be all hyped on that, put everything on that first.
- 48:40Put your first team out for that.
- 48:41I don't think you're going to come tough for and the team to
- 48:44watch, in my opinion, is going to be Aston Villa with the
- 48:46players they're picking up right now, not just they got pal
- 48:49Torres, they just picked up what Yuri Tillermans in the midfield.
- 48:54They're just improving. They got a good way or two.
- 48:57Is it Jiabi? Yeah.
- 48:59So. Watch out for Aston Villa,
- 49:01they're taking over. They're gonna take the
- 49:04Premiership by storm this season, I feel, but I don't
- 49:06think they're gonna come top four.
- 49:07But I don't think Arsenal's gonna come top 4.
- 49:10Tika, what do you got? So.
- 49:11My wild prediction for this season is I think Arsenal will
- 49:14be king of the EPL. I think they will win the title
- 49:17this year. I like their depth.
- 49:19I like the players they added. With.
- 49:22With Rice coming on, I think we'll open things up for they
- 49:24got a lot more, so I'm excited to see how that works out as
- 49:28well With they brought in Harvard's which adds more debt
- 49:32and the Gabriel he sues if he stays healthy he was off to
- 49:35great pace. I also like Martinelli, Gabriel
- 49:38Martinelli on the left side, excited to see if he takes the
- 49:41next step and he becomes more efficient.
- 49:42This year I expect to see probably more goals for him,
- 49:45more more process, and for fantasy whites he goes.
- 49:49One-on-one, a lot, so a lot of dribbles.
- 49:51I do think he has a lot of upside and fantasy and I'm the
- 49:55attacking players all across Arsenal so I'm high on them.
- 49:58I do think Arsenal will rebound from last year and win the EPL
- 50:01title this coming season. Is that that wild?
- 50:04I don't think that's that wild. That's fucking wild.
- 50:09Yeah. I mean they definitely Bill.
- 50:11I think. I think the the expectations are
- 50:15high and I think sometimes that can be a negative and I think
- 50:18that that might be a problem. But the Expeditations are high
- 50:21because they bought a lot of really good players and they
- 50:23think they should be there. I I think my and I don't know
- 50:26how wild this is, it's kind of more cheeky, but I just don't.
- 50:28I don't think City wins the league.
- 50:29I think Tiko mentioned it. I don't think they.
- 50:31I don't think they win the league.
- 50:33I just don't. I don't see it.
- 50:34I think the players that I think winning a trouble coming off a
- 50:37trouble season. I think it's gonna be hard to
- 50:39get everyone as dialed in as as motivated to do it again, to
- 50:43jump right back on it and go from the start, start winning
- 50:47again. A/B, I think some of the players
- 50:49they lost are really important. I think that, I mean, they lost
- 50:52their captain Gundalin. They're gonna potentially lose
- 50:55Kyle Walker, like potentially lose Bernardo Silva.
- 50:58You know, the players they brought in to replace them
- 51:00aren't like for like, I think Kovachic is a very good player,
- 51:03but he's not a Gundalin. And I think, like, you know,
- 51:06they still have a lot of really good attackers like Phil, like
- 51:09Phil Foden, Jack Realish. You know, they lost Mars, too.
- 51:12But they still have in there. They have that young guy, Cole
- 51:14Palmer I think is gonna get a lot of plenty time.
- 51:16But they just like it's they're, they lack the depth that they've
- 51:19had in previous seasons. And I think they lack just that.
- 51:22Like, I I just feel it in my bones.
- 51:25They're not they're not winning this year.
- 51:28All right. I think that just about wraps it
- 51:30up for us. For Episode 2, I'm with Tico and
- 51:32Enzo. My name is Keith and thank you
- 51:34for listening to Draft Offside.
