- 0:00Track Cass, the Galaxy's most unpredictable start trick podcast, And there we are
- 0:24Galaxy's most cut off quick click intro. We gotta fix that. We gotta
- 0:30fix that. One of these days we will. Hey, this episode of
- 0:32Trick Cass is brought to you by Lacroix All I'm missing his avocado toast.
- 0:35It's a good morning everybody. How's everyone doing? How's your man been?
- 0:38Grind? It's getting there, but unfortunately it's all on the front. Yeah,
- 0:47on the front, short opposite of a mullet? How's thee doing good?
- 0:58And for those of you who don't know, if you're looking at the
- 1:00YouTube chat, my alter ego name is Taylor. So that's hot guy put
- 1:04over there on the in the chat, Taylor Taylor, Taylor Rick look at
- 1:10that, says chat is going for the Pikelet. I am going for the
- 1:14Pikelet. I'm growing it long, um so that I can dress and act
- 1:18and be like Pike. And when I get to STLV, I'm and if
- 1:21he's there on a panel, I'm gonna walk up and say, um,
- 1:23mister Ranson Mount, how is it for you? How is it? How
- 1:26do you feel about meeting Pike? In person for the first time. That's
- 1:29what I'm gonna say. Mm hmm, perhaps step space. Heh my god,
- 1:38the chat's gonna be crazy now with him here. I'm just worrying.
- 1:42Who is that? Buddy? Mind front and Kelly? Yeah? Is he
- 1:47really? Is he hot? Is he's actually he's got a beard. He's
- 1:49got a hell of a beer. Yes, all right, all right,
- 1:53well there you go. He's a beard bred. So you heard it here
- 1:57Chad thinks he's hot talking about dudes on the internet. Welcome, welcome gas.
- 2:07Yeah, we never get it right, get it right, lord,
- 2:10Lord, that's how it begins. Oh well, so no lens player today,
- 2:17it's kind of overcast out. Okay, yeah, yep. We see
- 2:24the car seat that's new. No, No, that's always been there,
- 2:29just always been. What would a car seat be in the Trek universe?
- 2:34Do they have them? They don't have them because they have inertial dampers,
- 2:37right, they don't have they don't have seat builts fly around the minute they're
- 2:45all thrown through the screen somewhere that explodes magically. Yeah. So now I
- 2:50want to go back and look when uh, when Picard was driving his dune
- 2:53buggy in uh in uh insurrection. Yeah, the Argo did they have seatbelts?
- 3:01I believe they had a five point harness system. Yeah, other than
- 3:05data who was just standing there at the back. Yeah, right right,
- 3:08and for some reason felt the need to have goggles on. Well, yeah,
- 3:15because you fly around in space and then you want to go just righte
- 3:17a, you know, drive around. So m h, I'm looking at
- 3:23pictures of the Argo, but I can't get a good enough shot to tell
- 3:27if they have seatbelts or not. Yeah. That guy brings up a good
- 3:30point. There's always someone in a van in my podcasts. Oh is that
- 3:36is that a thing for you? That's a thing for me? Yes?
- 3:38Okay, fair enough, fair enough. Well should we get to the news.
- 3:45Let's go for why not? All right? So our first news story
- 3:52comes to us from trekmovie dot com, and yesterday a bunch of different Star
- 3:57Trek actors took to the pick up line for the writer's strike going on right
- 4:02now. There were several of them out in LA and in New York respectively.
- 4:08We had writers and actors and just people all associated with Star Trek.
- 4:13Pretty much every series you can think of um were on the lines. Uh,
- 4:16some notable ones we had Anthony Rapp, we had Jerry Ryan, Um,
- 4:23Jess Bush, Nurse Chapel. I know what's his name? Spok has
- 4:29been out there a few times. Um, what's his name? Yeah?
- 4:32Yeah, Spok, the new one, hipster Spock. Definitely. Yeah,
- 4:41they have been out there and then apparently after on the picket lines. This
- 4:45was posted on Instagram by Terry Matalis him, Jerry Ryan, a few of
- 4:50the writers from Picard and Um and I'll got to forget his name, Shaw
- 4:56his real name? What is that guy's real name? For Chicago? Yeah,
- 5:00it should have been a trivia question. Yeah. Yeah. They all
- 5:02were playing Dungeons and Dragons last night, so oh really yeah? Interesting?
- 5:08Shaw was the DM for those people who care about that. So I don't
- 5:13even know how Dungeons and Dragons is played. Oh man, I got no
- 5:16clue. Never done it, not one. I mean, for a guy
- 5:18talking about truck on the internet, you think you would have played by now
- 5:25hasn't happened. It's cool. I don't know. I'm well, as we've
- 5:29established, I am a nerd, but I'm not like that kind of like
- 5:32I'm also in the sports ball Okay evolved. He's a mighty nerd. So
- 5:39was was Chris Pine playing Dungeons and Dragons with you? That's a huge basically
- 5:45dractually because of the marketing film they did do the thing where all the actors
- 5:50played Yeah, that's hilarious. Happened. Does anybody have any sympathy for these
- 5:58writers on strike? I'm just curious. Yeah, dude, it's pretty messed
- 6:00up. What is what is it? What is it they want? What's
- 6:04what is it they're not getting that they want? So because of streaming,
- 6:09they don't get residual checks, which they would normally get, which then kind
- 6:13of benefits your rating and left allows you to make a living at it.
- 6:16So typically they would make decent money because of the re aer on networks,
- 6:21but because of streaming they get virtually nothing. But these studios keep making record
- 6:28breaking numbers and record breaking profits and they're just not sharing it. It's literally
- 6:32just going all to the top this. You know, it's another one of
- 6:38those things where the law has to catch up with technology exactly. There are
- 6:44shows that for years did not come out on DVD because of old contracts that
- 6:50you know, we can't put this out on disk because it'll violate this contract.
- 6:55So we have to renegotiate with you know, this person or whatever um
- 7:01for Yeah, like is that residuals? You know what? Yeah, what's
- 7:05why does the law have to get involved in this? Isn't it just a
- 7:08contract dispute? What's the Why why do we have to have a law what
- 7:11the contracts need to catch because the contract is law, not like a regulation
- 7:15government law, you mean like contracts? No, well, yeah, I
- 7:18guess. Yeah. So, like to give you an idea that one of
- 7:23the writers for for the Bear Right, which is a very popular uh FX
- 7:28show that that gets repeatedly aired on Hulu, that guy talked about how like
- 7:34he was at the Emmy's and literally had a negative bank account because he only
- 7:41got paid for one episode, doesn't get any residuals, doesn't get any anything
- 7:46else, but he's on a hit show, right, Yeah, Like that's
- 7:49one of these comets. So I mean they're just basically not paid enough to
- 7:54write for a single episode when there's only twelve or thirteen episodes, And that's
- 7:57it. Is that kind of what we're getting at, that's part of it.
- 8:00So that that's also another thing to the right, And that's another point,
- 8:05right, like these episodes, these seasons are now like six eight episodes,
- 8:09but you're contracted for the year whereas you can. But if they call
- 8:16you back and they're like, hey we need rewrites, legally you got to
- 8:20go back to them and you're you're not getting paid the contract, don't take
- 8:24it. Well what else are you gonna do? Right? You need the
- 8:26credits? Do you're a writer? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I get
- 8:28it. I get it. Still put up Wolf's comment there, because it's
- 8:31perfect. As far as the D and D thing with Ethan Peck, that's
- 8:33great. I'd like the Rolf initiative now it's like in the clip for the
- 8:39World, Yeah, exactly, it's perfect. Yeah. So, so I
- 8:43think there's another issue with AI, right, there's something with so that's another
- 8:48one. Um, what the writers Union wants is basically studios cannot use AI
- 8:54to make scripts right, needs to be creative endeavor And the studios are like,
- 8:58yeah, sure about that. Yeah. I was gonna say, well,
- 9:01you know, it's funny. Trek Crass Quiz Show was created by chat
- 9:05GPT. I did it. I'm not kidding my own fell It was so
- 9:11shocked, that's right. The AI in his phone is like I'm quitting now.
- 9:16Yeah, yeah, no, but I was just gonna say, um,
- 9:22you know, AI, if you think about it, it's just a
- 9:26new type of automation. Yeah. Yeah. So this this is like,
- 9:31you know, this is like people who work in a car factory trying to
- 9:35have it written into their contract that Nope, no machines on the assembly line.
- 9:41These cars are only built by human hands. It's the same issue.
- 9:45It's the same issue. It's just a different technology. It's a productivity tool.
- 9:48It's a one productivity tool. I use it almost every day, and
- 9:52I use it for multiple things. And think about this. For those of
- 9:54you who aren't using it and don't understand what I'm saying when I say use
- 9:58it every day morning, could um, go into chat GPT today, find
- 10:05four different things in your pantry and then ask it to give you a recipe
- 10:09including those four things and it'll do it. Or go use bar it on
- 10:13Google the same thing, right, I mean, there's a million one ways
- 10:16to use it. I use it every day. I literally know nothing about
- 10:20it. So is it is it a website? Is it an app?
- 10:24Is it something you pay for? What's totally free? So you can either
- 10:26go to you can just Google search for chat GPT log in, you'll get
- 10:31right there, simple, or you can go to bard Baard dot Google dot
- 10:35com, same thing, Just start typing away, ask it anything. It's
- 10:41it's phenomenal. M I use it in my sales. I use it in
- 10:43marketing to create cold copy stuff and then but I use it as an outline
- 10:48and then go and modify that and change it. And so you know,
- 10:50if you're trying to think of of something that you want to write up,
- 10:54but you know, maybe you're stalled for ideas, then you go use it
- 10:58as an idea. Keep your mind flowing. Yeah, it makes what it
- 11:01spits out. It's more, it's a huge tool. It's a huge tool
- 11:05to use. Right. But if if studios start doing that right, then
- 11:11they're not gonna have to pay writers, and it's another way for them to
- 11:15save money. But that's ridiculous. You're gonna have to pay writers because you're
- 11:18going to create your own bible that's not on the internet, not somewhere for
- 11:20chat GPT to scrape. That's not somewhere for um bard to go and scrape.
- 11:28Bard is live. Chat GPT is three years worth of data and it's
- 11:31not live, right, So there's a difference between the two you. You
- 11:35can't go and make an entire script perfect, ready to go, ready to
- 11:37hand somebody out of either one of these tools. It's it's not that's that's
- 11:41ridiculous. It doesn't write now. It can write a book, it's a
- 11:45shitty book, but it can't do that. You have to you have to
- 11:48go and fine tune it. Like when I made the quis Show. I
- 11:50literally made the Quiz Show using using this tool, okay, And all I
- 11:54did was asking a few things, got a few answers back, modified those
- 11:58played with it. Use it so literally, as you were saying that,
- 12:03I just typed into chat GPT give me a storyline for an episode of the
- 12:09Card And there it is. It's writing it right now. Just sure,
- 12:13sure, yeah, and that's great. So here's here's the thing. Okay,
- 12:18So what do you get Okay, so you're a writer, you're in
- 12:22the writer's guilt. What do you get paid more to do write a script
- 12:28or do rewrite to somebody else's Scriptum? I think ically it's writing a script,
- 12:35writing a script. Okay. So if they hand you instead of saying,
- 12:41hey, we need you to write a script for such and such,
- 12:43instead they hand you chat GPT script and say hey, we need some we
- 12:48need some rewrites on this. Yeah, okay, and you know they pay
- 12:52you a hundred units instead of two hundred units, right, I think I
- 12:56think that's that's a whole it's a whole issue. And then there's an argument
- 13:01that you don't even get the little residuals that they get now because if that's
- 13:05the contract that they want, and that's the contract they want, it's business
- 13:07right, thanks change, then who else are they going to go to?
- 13:09What do you mean So you're saying that as as if there's other studios that
- 13:15will pay them, Well, they're not going to it's a it's a market
- 13:18economy. But that's a thing. It's not because other studios will then adapt
- 13:22that same process. Yea, And they're not gonna find writers. They're not
- 13:26going to find people because it'll be unlivable because and this is because this is
- 13:31the whole Missouri. Well, we'll sign up to do that and they'll pay
- 13:33me one hundred bucks and it'll take me forty minutes, and I'll send it
- 13:37to them and I'll do thirty of them a week instead of writing one.
- 13:39This is the whole idea of collective bargaining. Yeah right, they're saying,
- 13:43you know, you're going to treat us like this or you're gonna get nothing
- 13:48from any of us. Exactly. That's that's the only reason it works.
- 13:50Yeah, exactly, I get how it works. I'm just I'm just I'm
- 13:54just being the devil's advocate of the whole thing here. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:58all right, Our next new story comes to us from the weirdest website I've
- 14:01ever heard of, dapsmagic dot com. That's literally the name of the website.
- 14:07I don't know whatever, but apparently star Rick Macarte has returned to the
- 14:11top ten in the Nielsen ratings yet again, just this week. Wow.
- 14:16Yeah, so that that's given it legs man. People are loving this show.
- 14:20It's a great it's a great season. It's just fantastic season. Yeah.
- 14:26Um so yeah, it broken in the top ten. That's the third
- 14:28third time since it's released that it's broken into the top ten. It was
- 14:33rated number nine, so it's climbing, um from where it's been. Um,
- 14:39that's so you think this is word of mouth? Do you think this
- 14:41is word of mouth? Or do you think this is rewatches? I think
- 14:46it's word of mouth more than rewatches. I'm sure River watches it there,
- 14:50but it's more so I know personally, just and totally. I've had friends
- 14:54come up to me, Hey, it's a good Yeah, dude, it's
- 14:56fantastic. All right, I'll get Paramount Plus to watch now that it's all
- 15:00out. Yeah, that's happened a few times to me. So, oh
- 15:03man, I'm gonna have to uh I'm dreamed over the coals in the chat
- 15:09today. Oh my god, I'm gonna have to alter my settings. The
- 15:11sun is coming out and I see a little bit of lens flare. Oh
- 15:15no, here, should we start playing some beastie boys? Yeah? All
- 15:26right. And our last news story I wanted to bring this up just came
- 15:28out this morning. It's from fan Sighted also Red Shirts must Die. Um,
- 15:33this is kind of interesting. So they posted basically what I would say
- 15:37as an opinion piece. The headline is Star Trek Discovery was was anything but
- 15:43successful during its run. Tell me something I don't know. Well, here's
- 15:50the thing. So this guy, very early on in the thing talks about
- 15:54how he didn't hit certain metrics and all that, but he doesn't provide any
- 15:58metrics himself. It's just one. I got one metric one metric. We're
- 16:04six we're six years. I know it's five seasons, but we're like six
- 16:07or seven years in, right, I still can't name the Bridge crew.
- 16:11Yeah, only metric I need. Yeah, I don't know if I can't
- 16:18either. Honestly, that should have been a trivia question because no one would
- 16:22get it. Nobody would name the Bridge crew and Discovery. Yeah, one
- 16:26member of the Bridge crew that's not crew and Burnham yep and yep, and
- 16:33you win the whole show. So people will be like, uh, the
- 16:36African girl, the girl with the one weird eye, the part robot girl,
- 16:41the part the part robot girl who died. Yes. Yes, So
- 16:45they go on to in the in the article, he talks about how like
- 16:49they never broke into the top ten of Nielsen and all that kind of stuff.
- 16:53He's kind of omitting some things and I wanted to play Devil's advocate on
- 16:56this article. Yeah. Yeah. People really don't remember that for the first
- 17:03few seasons, Discovery was licensed out to either Amazon or Netflix internationally, and
- 17:11that's how the show paid for itself. Yes, right, so it was
- 17:15a success financially because of that. So it's arguable to say is it successful
- 17:22or not exactly. They had one episode where they literally went around used everybody
- 17:30and that was like three seasons in. That was season two, okay,
- 17:33when when Pike first came on, very much screams of we had a focus
- 17:38group and everyone was like, who are these me? Yeah? Yeah,
- 17:41I was like, all right, you know what, before we get started,
- 17:44why doesn't everybody go around the room say your name, what you do
- 17:48here? And tell us something about yourself that we wouldn't know exactly literally anything
- 17:53at that point. But yes, well, what's what's funny too about Discovery?
- 17:59And this is so true now, like what's weird is throughout the entire
- 18:07Discovery arc. The biggest points of contention were actually season one when we cared,
- 18:17and not the rest of the seasons because by then it was like,
- 18:19this can't get any worse. Oh it did. This can't get any worse?
- 18:22Oh it did. But yet you look back in season one was probably
- 18:25the best season how to fall the fun I mean, with the with the
- 18:30exception of when Pike came into season Yeah, but I was gonna say story
- 18:33structure wise, season one was the best. Yeah. They set things up
- 18:37and then paid them off. They did. It was a big mystery,
- 18:41but it was worth it. Unlike the Red Angel, I'm havingsd flashbacks just
- 18:45saying that. M hmm, I don't remember any of these story points.
- 18:56See in bright lights like it hurt his eyes. Yeah, yeah, there's
- 19:02a lot of little mystery there. They did a good Yeah, they did
- 19:03a good job with that. I remember us talking about that at least.
- 19:07Yeah. Well that's all the news stories I have. Um, I've already
- 19:11put in the chat that hey, we're gonna be playing their game soon.
- 19:15Are legally sanctioned quiz game. Quiz game, Yes, yes, quiz game
- 19:21which you definitely definitely do not have to phrase your answers in the form of
- 19:26a question because that's not the game. We're playing a completely different game.
- 19:33This game won't put you in peril in any way. Nope, yeah,
- 19:36nope. Yeah. If there's any synonyms for peril, it won't put you
- 19:40in that either. Not at all, not at all. Uh. We
- 19:44have some prizes because I have stuff sent to me that giveaway, so if
- 19:48you win, he'll get a prize. So let's let's uh, let's play
- 19:52the tag at least well now, m all right, So the first people
- 20:02to join us are Tea Bear and Jeremy Hey. All right, yeah all
- 20:10look at that. No, um, Chad, you you took away the
- 20:15board. Oh, I'm gonna put up doing Okay. Are we gonna do
- 20:19these two against each other? Yeah, let's do these two against each other.
- 20:22Two man team, and we're gonna do the main board, right,
- 20:23the hard one. So if you guys have an answer, just say me
- 20:27or raise your hand something so we can are buzzard. So we've got um
- 20:33hold on here, let me do this so I can see better. Okay,
- 20:36I'm gonna put the names in, okay, Jeremy Bear, We're just
- 20:48waiting on Chad tipping things in, and then I'm gonna go present. Share
- 20:55the screen. One share there it is. There is our screen. You
- 21:02can't see the last one because of the logo, but it's menagerie. So
- 21:04those are our categories. Races, one offs, ships, series, and
- 21:10menagerie. Menagerie just means a mix of miscellaneous who knows what. Okay,
- 21:15and it would and it wouldn't be treck cast without Chad misspelling something. What
- 21:18did misspelling? Oh I'm sure I missed the same. Come on, man,
- 21:22I'm sure I misspelled all kinds of things and hearing him clicking on the
- 21:25shared screen and streamcast trying to change it instead of over here on this Uh,
- 21:30I can't see the thing. I spell it j E r O y
- 21:34that right e y? Yeah, there we go. Okay, there we
- 21:40go. Ope, nope, no space? All right, all right,
- 21:45all right? Uh, Chad, who do you want to go first?
- 21:48You're you're hosting. We'll go with the j O me A and guys.
- 21:55The answer up either putting one finger up or if you want to be cool
- 22:00you can you can do that. Yeah, a single finger of your choice,
- 22:08anyone? Yes? Qua mock time fighting music? That's right? What
- 22:21races for four hundred? Which race plays? The bad guys in ensigns of
- 22:26command? Wow? Do we ask? Do we in this non uh descript
- 22:37Yeah? Just say what you think the answer is? Is it the Cursians
- 22:41that is incorrect? Tea Bear? Can you steal it? Uh? Is
- 22:47it? Who are the furringie? And both of you got it wrong?
- 22:51Dan? Do you want to chime in and try to win steal some points?
- 22:56Damn it? Gravity? Gravity is the bad guy. I'm gonna go
- 23:02with the Romulans. Oh my god, guys, so freaking bad. I
- 23:06don't understand. I'll go, well, oh sorry, I didn't hear you.
- 23:10Oh come on, yeah, all right, that's what I was gonna
- 23:14say, very clearly, very clearly. Duh, I mean all right,
- 23:22next one, next one? Uh, tea bear, I'll go with ships
- 23:29for two hundred mm hmm. What type of ship is the bounty? I
- 23:40didn't think these would be that hard. Well apparently not go for it.
- 23:44The cling on burger pray boom. Look at that. Good job. That's
- 23:48tea bear, nice, nice, nice chop. I was gonna say paper
- 23:55towels. I was going to I was going to say space ship, Yes,
- 24:00that too, ships score one hundred, ships for one hundred. What
- 24:06was the first ship James T. Kirk was assigned to me? Yeah?
- 24:11What was the US farragut? Us farragut? By problem, this is why
- 24:22we can't have nice the common section when this gets posted later, I just
- 24:32I'm not a nerd. I don't care. I'll do ships for three hundred,
- 24:37ships for three ships for three straight. Here we go. This class
- 24:44of ship is known to be the longest serving class of ships Starfleet in Starfleet,
- 24:48and can be seen in almost every series of the franchise. The excelsior
- 24:52incorrect? De Bear? What was the all incorrect? Dan constitution Glass incorrect?
- 25:06M oh um, run about? Oh my god? The Morando is
- 25:15a single series, guys, mm okay, including DS nine and every almost
- 25:22every movie it's somewhere spell check for five okay, fact checker, Doug Wolf,
- 25:32you are our new fact checker, Doug okay. Yes, let's see

- 39:22She falls in love with Riker. That's right. Yeah, he hits it
- 39:28like you know he does. He didn't quit it. I can't name her.
- 39:38Uh ten more seconds BB, Jeremy, No, I didn't say,
- 39:49Okay, would you say? T I don't know who is Toran Tolin?

- 40:52at this point. I'm not sure you can catch up. I know I
- 40:55might be out of it. Was that? Was it? That was a
- 40:59breaking point? Which one? T bear races? Three races for three hundred?
- 41:04What does the name of the vulcan ritual in which emotions are purged and
- 41:07controlled? Jeremy? What is Oh shit? I knew it wasn't. I

- 41:28kind of. Is there's a release involved? Yes, yeah, what happened.
- 41:39I just purchased Jeremy will give you a shot of the last one.
- 41:46That's what you're gonna go with. Really, that's for a second place,
- 41:52all right. William Shatner once told truck E's to get a life on what
- 41:59show? Go for it? What is Saturday Night Live? Boom? Very
- 42:02good way to end it off. Nice. Yeah, this is fun,
- 42:10This is a blast, This is great. We definitely have to do this
- 42:13again, absolutely, and we have to do it where I come up with
- 42:15these questions or one of us comes up with these questions instead of using some
- 42:17of the other ones, because the last time we did this was what like
- 42:20two years ago, we used somebody else's board and the questions were just horrible.
- 42:24Yeah, we're gonna use somebody else's board next. Okay, we got
- 42:30chatsmins waiting awesome a bear since you won, message me your address. I
- 42:37set that up, didn't I all right, I'm gonna stop sharing while I
- 42:39go find the air board. Hey guys, thank you? So that was
- 42:45fun. Yes, so we have chatsmis waiting to play. Nobody else showed
- 42:51up, so I'm thinking Dan plays against him. Turd Ferguson. Nice,
- 42:55Yes to Dan, You're gonna play agains Chats biz. Yeah. If nobody
- 43:00else, uh yeah, nobody else. Somebody else wants to play, I'll
- 43:04do it. We can't have from the last one. Try to play against
- 43:07the way. That's fine. Let's say I'll play the winner. So what
- 43:13do you want to do? I'm fine. I like these wearing a coat,
- 43:15that's great. Yeah, I'm all dressed up. Yeah, I don't
- 43:21know this board is um huh I needed Sean Connery here. I'll take the
- 43:30Rapists for five Oh do I get? Do I get to make fun of
- 43:37Chad's mother? That's uh drawed donkey? Alright, alright versus third, here
- 43:52we go, versus. I don't know where interest any of these are.
- 43:57So I really have This is gonna be tough. Yeah. Um, so
- 44:00Dan, you go first. I will take next generation for five hundred Star
- 44:09Trek, the next generation for five hundred. Unlike any other ship in the
- 44:13fleet, Galaxy class ships can perform this, Dan Saucer separation. Yep,
- 44:21nice, very good. Go again. I'll take next generation for four hundred.
- 44:28The US Enterprise in the next generation is this class of ship? The
- 44:30USS Enterprise in the original series was a Constitution class. Yeah, that is
- 44:36a Galaxy class starship. Oh snap, is it? Dan for three?
- 44:44Three on this French captain commanded the USS Enterprise in the next generation. Yeah,
- 44:52Joan luc picad you gotta get up on it. Jared fergus gotta be
- 44:57faster than that time. O. I tried to raising my left hand and
- 45:00guess what slid frame? That is the problem work. I have a feeling
- 45:09these questions are gonna be way too easy. Let me guess. Dan two
- 45:15based eighty years after the original series. Star Trek the next Nation is based
- 45:16on what century go? Twenty fourth century? Very good? Yeah, let's
- 45:24do it. Let's finish it off. You got I'm like the seventeen o
- 45:27one Enterprise, this Enterprise in Star Trek whatever, good for it? You
- 45:34raised your hand. You know the D the D Jesus turd. Ferguson doesn't
- 45:42stand a chance. Keep going down. I know I'm getting wid Give me
- 45:45some, give me some deep space nine for five hundred police, Oh,
- 45:49I'm gonna get wiped with this one. After the third year of the Federation's
- 45:52invited presence of deep Space nine, this small ship was assigned there, Dan
- 45:57the Defiant, I hope, I'm pretty sure that's right. It can't be
- 46:00anything else. Yeah, keep going four hundred keep Space nine was originally called
- 46:07this, but the Gardassians Dan terrok nor damn. See this is up here.
- 46:16This is ridiculous. Yeah, no, it's ter do Yeah. Yeah,
- 46:22what is the Gammer quadrant? You freaking nubs? Anyway, the Gardassians
- 46:30had occupied the speech whatever. Yeah, go Dan, we used this board
- 46:42the last time. No, I remember these mistakes. We damn, we
- 46:46used this board the last time. I just did a search and found the
- 46:50bound one and grabbed it. Yeah that's yeah, all right, yeah,
- 46:57all right, two hundred, two hundred. Yeah, have you juring wormhole?
- 47:01Let I met the answers the Jorans turn. Ferguson raised his hand.
- 47:06First turn Turn answered, God, wait, can you guess the wrong answer?
- 47:15That they're right? Delta? No, it was right, they got
- 47:22it right, you got it all right, turns on the board. Finally,
- 47:27I think I have I have my suspicion. He just raised his hand
- 47:30and read the question after Yeah, like you all right. God, he's
- 47:39got control of the board. It's like, I know, what do you
- 47:49what do you picking? Turn? Oh I'm I'm picking. You're picking now?
- 47:52Yeah? Okay, you symbols on the very far right. What does
- 47:57that say? Oh? Let me? Uh what Georg let's Voyager for five
- 48:04hundred Here we go. Voyager HERMNY crew members finally returned home after your health
- 48:08of the Future, the involuntary the board after this many years in Delta Quadron.
- 48:12What you have to read the questions. If people listen to this and
- 48:16don't know what's going on, Oh, that's true. This is an IO
- 48:20podcast. Yes, but he's raised his hand before I even finish. That's
- 48:27why I'm doing this right, But other people listen to this. Later,
- 48:31Voyager and her remaining crew members finally returned home with help from the future and
- 48:37involuntarily the board after this many years in the Delta quadrant DAN seven seasons seven?
- 48:49Uh? Is that technically correct? Ye? How long it was supposed
- 48:53to be seventy seven years? Yeah? Yeah, because when they came back
- 48:57they were old, right right, yeah, so, and then they had
- 49:02to go back in time. Then they changed the timeline, the prime timeline.
- 49:07They were there seven years, so it should be seven. That's that's
- 49:09what this answer should be. We all agree on that, because there there
- 49:15we go turds like, dude, I'm just here to be cool. You
- 49:21could you could win this, you could pull this. I don't know what
- 49:22your enterprise game is or your COOS game. That's true. You got a
- 49:27whole list there, all right, all right, let's go Voyager. Let's
- 49:35go Voyager for four hundred. Okay. In an encounter with this malevolent species,
- 49:39Voyager picked up a new crew member whose designation was seven of nine.
- 49:44I don't know how turd didn't raise his hand faster than you. Dan,
- 49:47Yeah, go for it. Who is who is the borg? Who are
- 49:55the barge? Who are the board? Whatever? Who be the boorg?
- 50:02Three hundred Laborge, the boord Gay? The USS Voyager was this class of
- 50:08ship, which is also a synonym for courageous, Ted, Go for it.
- 50:15I know this for sure, one hundred percent. I know it,
- 50:21So I don't. Yeah, me tell what this thing says? Explore incorrect?
- 50:25Dan close? Oh he's Dan's glitching out, dans cler Now he's glitching
- 50:36out. I can tell it's it's it's the Intrepid class. Yeah, neither
- 50:39one of you got it. While he's glitching out. Yeah, Star Trek
- 50:46for five hundred, Star Trek for five hundred. The Star Trek Pilot didn't
- 50:52star the renowned Captain Kirk, and instead starred this captain as the commander of
- 50:57the Enterprise twenty years earlier. Oh my god, I know this guy's name,
- 51:05Daniel. You go, yeah, I got my hand up. Yeah,
- 51:08um number one, mm hmmm. It's the guy from It's the guy
- 51:19from a WATCHMA call it first feelers, stay off right. No, No,
- 51:25this is the plot. This is the pilot episode for a Star Trek
- 51:30original series. This is it. Spike, Spike, God, yeah,
- 51:34I can't believe you didn't get that, right, d I was thinking of
- 51:36next and I was thinking, I'm trying to throw him a bone. Yeah.
- 51:40I thought he would have got that. Yeah, no, no,
- 51:43tecknowledge is off right. Now, all right, you go to since I
- 51:46missed it. Okay, Well let's take all the five hundreds off the board
- 51:50for funzies. Okay, okay. Star Trek Enterprise five hundred. The Enterprise
- 51:55was the first warp five capable vessel created by Starfleet, the second War five
- 52:00capable ship. Star Fleet commission was named after this NASA space shuttle in the
- 52:05twentieth century. Hint, it was the first to go into space, but
- 52:07not the first produced. Dan's got it not all extra back Dan Enterprise,
- 52:16No, it's not. The second warp five capable ship is the name we're
- 52:23looking for an XL one. No, that was the Enterprise, Daniel Enterprise.
- 52:29It's the Columbia, the Columbia. But the Columbia did go into space.
- 52:34The Enterprise did not. The Enterprise most certainly did go into space.
- 52:37But okay, the Enterprise, the Enterprise shuttlecraft did not going. No.
- 52:42No, they're talking about in Star Trek, the second warp five vessels Columbia.
- 52:49Yeah, but it says it was named after this NASA space shuttle in
- 52:52the twentieth century. Hit it was the first to go into space. Oh
- 52:55yeah, No, the hint is wrong. Okay, yeah, oh yeah,
- 53:00that's screwy. Yeah, that is kind of screwy how they worded that.
- 53:02Yeah, this is why we need to have your own boards. Some
- 53:05of these boards are really bad. Okay, I'm on my phone now because
- 53:08my pad is you forgot to charge it now? No, No, I
- 53:14think I'm on it. I think what I'm on it for too long,
- 53:16it heats up. Oh yeah, and I think that's why that's why I
- 53:21seem to craft out at like the forty minute mark. That's because your internal
- 53:27um life support systems in your shuttlecraft behind it. Yeah, I would help
- 53:34it, yes, yes, all right, well Jone's next. We'll go
- 53:37with Turret. Go for it. Okay, let's do Enterprise for four hundred
- 53:45for the founding of the United Federation of Planets. Starfleet use these two letters
- 53:50to come before a ship's registry number instead of USS DAN, not Alex Trebek.
- 54:00Um, yeah, the question is wrong. But they're asking for is
- 54:05NX, but it's instead of NCC, and they still use NX in Starfleet
- 54:12when it's an experimental ship. So but it's an X. I think,
- 54:15m hm turd. I don't know because what they're going to answer here,
- 54:21Um he got it? I think, yeah, yeah, exactly, But
- 54:24I'm just saying, um, if they said NCC here, then maybe there's
- 54:29I don't know, whatever, Yeah, keep going, not Alex Trebeck.
- 54:34I'll take Enterprise for three hundred. In star Trek Enterprise, Scott Baccula starred
- 54:43as this captain of the first warp five capable vessel and really pissed now because
- 54:50he didn't get his hand up fast enough. Go for it. Not Alex
- 54:53Trebek. The answer is not your mother. It's your mother. It's out
- 55:00of an Archer, Captain Jonathan Archer. Dan is just how to get a
- 55:07dog. Yeah, you wouldn't rescue the dogs her own. Not Alex Trebec.
- 55:19Your next question, Let's take Enterprise for two Enterprise for two hundreds.
- 55:24The Zindie arch in Enterprise's third season was based after this terrorist attack against the
- 55:30United States of America, and it's like, oh, my lord Trebec the
- 55:38Battle of nine one. Yes, uh yeah, just a painful kind of
- 55:50question. I don't know, yeh, keep going, Trebec, you have
- 55:53the floor. Let's close out Enterprise for a hundred. Okay, start checking
- 56:00prizes based in this century, in the year twenty one fifty one, I
- 56:04mean, Tribec, it would be the twenty second century. Uh. I'll
- 56:19take for somebody drop a guitar. No, I dropped my mike. I'll
- 56:23be right back. Everybody's dropping everything at this point. Um, everything's just
- 56:30wrecking right now. It is. It's a total train wreck. It's like
- 56:32just like wiping the floor with me. I don't think there's a comeback,
- 56:36Guys, I don't think there's enough. You're correct, there are no longer
- 56:42enough points on the board in order for you to win. But we'll keep
- 56:45going anyway because Trebec has another joke about my mom. That's true, that's
- 56:51true. I'll take deep, deep space and what what is happening here?
- 57:13Let's just go wipe my hand and say, I don't know. Actually,
- 57:16what you need to start doing, turn, what you need to start doing
- 57:19is just being like, um, I've always been here. Actually, this
- 57:23is what you need to do. What's his name that always showed up in
- 57:25that skit? Um? Not sup? And then there is uh not Matthew
- 57:31McConaughey or Tom Hanks. But what's his name that always showed up? Is
- 57:35the guy from Smokey yeahs Turd Ferguson is Burt Reynolds, Yeah, Burt yeah
- 57:43By Ferguson is so I got the jacket on. I was doing mustache today,
- 57:49but I'd have to save this part off. There you go, Burt,
- 57:52You just like points are perfect for Turt Ferguson. It is, It
- 57:58is neat, but kind of what was I supposed to go? Next,
- 58:07I have no idea. I've totally lost track right there. Deep Space nine
- 58:12is important for the in the Federation because of its location near this stellar phenomenon.
- 58:16Turd Ferguson, the wormhole, the Jordan wormhole, You've actually got some
- 58:23points. It's it's amazing, no chance in hell for you to win,
- 58:28but you're still there. Trebec forty six hundred, Burt Reynolds three hundred and
- 58:35for you were listening on the audio version of this only who have no clue
- 58:38where anything was at that point or who's playing against who it's it was initially
- 58:43Dan versus turd Ferguson, now it's Trebek versus Burt Reynolds. Same two dudes.
- 58:47Okay, exactly, keep going, Dird, Why don't you give him
- 58:52out the score right now where we're at, Trebek is forty six hundred,
- 58:55Burt Reynolds is three hundred. Uh that that is Alex Trebec or Dan at
- 59:00forty six hundred. Turd Ferguson or Burt Reynolds is only three hundred. Keep
- 59:07going, Turd, oh, I go, it's been so long. Let's
- 59:12star Trek. That's what she said. Start, That's what she said.
- 59:16Yeah, yeah, Star Trek for four hundred, Star Trek for four hundred.
- 59:22This great visionary was the creator of Star Trek. Dan your mother that
- 59:30it's incorrect. You have lost points. Lucas turd Ferguson Rod and Barry of
- 59:37Jean. All right, next one, Okay, Star Trek for three hundred,
- 59:50Star Trek for three hundred. Put put up up. Oh, it's
- 59:53a daily double points triple point. I'm gonna triple your points if you get
- 59:57this right. Yes, these small fur balls were shown on Deep Space K
- 1:00:05Tax seven. They're purring soothed, all but the Klingons who had their hands
- 1:00:08K Tag seven. I did say, K tack seven, that's attack.
- 1:00:15That's attack who had their hand up first? Because I was hurry looking Terry
- 1:00:21go for it is the trebles, what are the tribles? You get triple
- 1:00:25points one, two, three, you're now it's sixteen hundred versus Trebek's forty
- 1:00:30two hundred. You're getting out. All points from here on now will be
- 1:00:34four times their value. Just to make it possible. I don't think it's
- 1:00:42possible. An it's not, but I'm gonna do. I'm gonna subtract the
- 1:00:45point out of Trebec though. When he loses at four times and numbers,
- 1:00:49so it's possible. Go for it, Turd Ferguson, Let's do Star Trek
- 1:00:54for two D. Star Trek for two hundred. The first Star Trek series
- 1:00:59is now how commonly referred to as this Alex Quebec garbage incorrect. Three you
- 1:01:08you're now down to thirty six hundred points. Ferguson, t O S,
- 1:01:16t O S. They didn't even say one two three, There we go.
- 1:01:22It's now thirty six hundred. Back to Burt Reynolds, twenty two hundred.
- 1:01:28Ferguson, go all right, let's finish out Star Trek for one hundred.
- 1:01:34The ship was under command of James T. Kirk Alex Trebec. He's
- 1:01:42frozen so he lost one two double points. Uh, Burt Reynolds, can
- 1:01:46you can you respond? He's leaving the Enterprise Enterprise one two three four?
- 1:01:58There you go? All right, nice's gonna sit there. I don't know.
- 1:02:04I'll take over turk. Ferguson, first Voyager two hundred Voyager sarcastic doctor
- 1:02:12can't leave his sick bay without a special device because he is one of these
- 1:02:15Ferguson the hollow admitter. He's a hollow Graham, not a hollow admitter.
- 1:02:22One two three four one two three four Oh, No, last question goes
- 1:02:30to end. He's gone, yeah, I got it. He died.
- 1:02:36He'll respond in a little bit, he'll respond, he'll come back as another
- 1:02:39character before Dan Daniel. Oh, yeah, Dart Trek Voyager for a hundred.
- 1:02:47The us vist Voyager was stranded in this quadrant and after being pulled there
- 1:02:52from the bad lands. Ferguson, Oh, Ferguson, delta quadrants. The
- 1:02:57delta quadrant is correct. Four you still lose to Burt Reynolds twenty two hundred.
- 1:03:05I was gonna say the outer rim. I know, I still got
- 1:03:10my butt white Man. We should do one of these where it's incorrect answers
- 1:03:15only that make the host laugh. Okay, that's pretty arbitrary. Okay,
- 1:03:21it is extremely arbitrary. Ferguson. The music for the Waiting Games should be
- 1:03:27the odd couple of music. Yes for Benny Hill. Yeah, Benny Hill.
- 1:03:34You know a tured Ferguson, Uh, message me your address and I'll
- 1:03:38send you a partician patient trophy. You only doing the private chat here and
- 1:03:46you're on Facebook, You're gonna get a pog Yeah, you'll get a participation
- 1:03:52trophy. Thanks for being on the show. Yeah, thanks, great,
- 1:04:00that was fantastic. Yes indeed, ye all right, um, we do
- 1:04:05have some feedback if we want to go to that probably should and all right,
- 1:04:15hey hey, hey indeed, um, So I do have a question
- 1:04:26that came in, so I've got it up and ready to go. This
- 1:04:30came to us from John zeb streaming question. He says, I'm a new
- 1:04:33listener and I've been enjoying your podcast. On your latest episode, which was
- 1:04:38like two weeks ago, now you mentioned that Paramount plus is totally puzzilin out.
- 1:04:43I am pissed about this and have been chasing star Trek through several streaming
- 1:04:47platforms over the past few years. Have you heard about where anything will go
- 1:04:53if paramount pulls the plug on Paramount Plus. So I wanted to bring this
- 1:04:59one up because we did mention that potentially Paramount plus could go away. I
- 1:05:03didn't want to give the impression and maybe we didn't do a good enough job.
- 1:05:06It's not going away, there's no there's nothing to say that it's going
- 1:05:11away right now. It's just that it's hurting. Though it's hurting, and
- 1:05:16the analysis that I read from a third party said one of the ways they
- 1:05:23could quickly start making money is to get rid of Paramount Plus. That's not
- 1:05:27to say that Paramount is actually going to do that. It's just an idea
- 1:05:30that somebody else had, So we'll start trek go other places. No,
- 1:05:35not at least as it stands. No, it's not. But yeah,
- 1:05:40I mean, honestly, if if Paramount Plus is going to become a non
- 1:05:46revenue loss for them, and it's going to become a revenue generator, there's
- 1:05:50absolutely no way that they would take trek off of it. That's probably the
- 1:05:56one thing that is making them money on Paramount Plus versus anything else at this
- 1:05:59point, with the success of Lower Decks, with the success of Strange New
- 1:06:01Worlds, and especially with the success of Picard season three. Right, So,
- 1:06:06despite the shit we give Discovery, those other three I just mentioned are
- 1:06:11fantastic. They are fantastic. So um and maybe what it winds up meaning
- 1:06:18if Paramount Plus does say, if Paramount does say, okay, well it's
- 1:06:21not working for us, Paramount Plus isn't working for us, then I'm sure
- 1:06:27they'll just go and license that stuff on someone else's streaming platform and We'll still
- 1:06:30have access to all of track, it just might be on a different platform.
- 1:06:34But I don't as much, as much as they're hurting and it's tough
- 1:06:38and it's hard, I don't see them shutting it down anytime soon. No,
- 1:06:42I don't. I don't see that either. They're they're pretty set on
- 1:06:45keeping it. So yeah, And I want to be clear on something too,
- 1:06:48so that someone listening to us understands where where my conversation about this stuff
- 1:06:54comes from. Um, it's my opinion and whatever I read on the internet,
- 1:07:00which is the exact same thing that you read on the end. I
- 1:07:01don't have any inside ball, FYI. So yeah, just speculation in my
- 1:07:08opinion based off of what I read. Now, maybe I do read more
- 1:07:12than some. Maybe I do follow up on things more than some. I
- 1:07:15probably don't because they get all my news from Daniel. That's right, That's
- 1:07:18right. And I just asked the local Woodland Creatures for news and they give
- 1:07:23it. What was that website you used today that no one in their right
- 1:07:26mind has ever heard of? How did you magic Baby? How did you
- 1:07:29even find that? I googled Star Trek before the show, and they came
- 1:07:32up. I asked I asked chat GPT. That's right, that's right.
- 1:07:42That's so we did have one of our listeners, Duval, go to the
- 1:07:47Long Island Trek Convention this weekend. Yes, so he made us a video.
- 1:07:54There's not a lot of audio on this, so I figured we could
- 1:07:56kind of just talk over it, so let me also play the video.
- 1:08:00Um, so here we go. So this is the Long Island Trek Convention.
- 1:08:05There he is, he's gonna introduce himself. Of course. There we
- 1:08:20go. Awesome, so pretty noisy, a lot of people there. But
- 1:08:33he told me the didiot did have a good time there. He got to
- 1:08:38meet um makers and get a new shirt. He's still there today. Yeah,
- 1:08:45that's pretty fun. Taking the music he do want to play we Love
- 1:09:00Our Place Women? Yeah yeah, Don Jones cool. Yeah, very nice,
- 1:09:21Very well done. Thank you very much for our correspondent in the field,
- 1:09:26Duval, New York Metropolitan Area correspond Yep, you'll have to go and
- 1:09:32give him his residual check. You're close by. Yeah, we know.
- 1:09:35We don't have a contract yet. Okay, Oh that's right. That's I'm
- 1:09:39I'm not four contracts, right. We get this ship for free, man,
- 1:09:42I'm the capitalist over here. That's right. He crossed the picket line
- 1:09:46to give us that report. Ah, yes, he did. See.
- 1:09:49He's the only one who's saying it's gonna go out. He's gonna go out
- 1:09:53to the parking lot. He's gonna four flat tires. Yeah, he's in
- 1:09:57trouble now, scab. But thank you appreciate it, Yes, thank you
- 1:10:06so much for doing that. Um. I did ask a pretty interesting question,
- 1:10:13uh in our meme, which is, now that swearing is allowed in
- 1:10:16Star Trek, which legacy character would have the biggest potty mouth? Before I
- 1:10:21give you the internet's consensus, what do you guys think which would have the
- 1:10:30biggest potty mouth now that swearing is allowed in Star Trek? Well, well,
- 1:10:35I mean Wharf, but you wouldn't know he was swearing because it being
- 1:10:40that's true. I think you know what now, O'Brien, okay, O'Brien.
- 1:10:46Because he's a he's a sleeves rolled up blue collar working man. Yeah,
- 1:10:54yep, yeah yeah, te bears correct hands down the internet when with
- 1:11:00McCoy, uh oh no, he's a doctor and his southern gentleman. Okay,
- 1:11:06I think I think in PG. Thirteen Trek, uh, you know,
- 1:11:12O'Brien beats his wife. That's what I think. He comes home,
- 1:11:15he has a few too many. She mouths off. Yeah, he hits,
- 1:11:21probably out of him. Duco would have the biggest potty mouth. He
- 1:11:26hits the kids. Telling you my answer was Kira. I could see her
- 1:11:32just going off, especially around Ducat. Yeah excuse me, so, oh
- 1:11:41no, it would be not not Ducat, but what's his name? Yeah,
- 1:11:45Brian would be f bombing the cardis you Betty would but no, what's
- 1:11:48his name is? Second in command? Uh? Not duct but the other
- 1:11:53guy, Dumar would definitely be Oh he did like to drink? Yeah,
- 1:11:58yeah, exactly. He would be the one beating all the women. But
- 1:12:01unfortunately the cardies would like that, so that's that's their nature. I don't
- 1:12:04know, man, I don't know. I can see Odo. I don't
- 1:12:08think he'd have the biggest party mouth. No, but I could see drop
- 1:12:13work. I think it's all Brian. But just for the record, I
- 1:12:15was kidding. I don't think he. I don't think he. Even though
- 1:12:18she has it coming, she definitely, oh my god, she probably does,
- 1:12:23but unfortunately in an R rated version, so no one has it coming.
- 1:12:30I know we're kidding. Yeah, kai Win. Anytime kai Win is
- 1:12:33talking about that might be right answer in the background. Yes, yes,
- 1:12:41I could see her with her public face. She's all prem and proper,
- 1:12:45and you know, as soon as she's behind the curtain, she turns to
- 1:12:48her aid and says, get that fin man away from me. Yeah yeah,
- 1:12:51see him again. Handle this this shit is beneath me. Yeah,
- 1:12:57yeah, I could see that. Ancerro wouldn't even make it in an R
- 1:13:00rated version of Trek. She wouldn't be an instant. She would be doing
- 1:13:03something else. Um, probably running a lady's uh you know, hostile.
- 1:13:14I don't know what he's talking about it. She would be in Madame Row,
- 1:13:17that's what I'm getting. Oh my god, Chad, the Chad GPT
- 1:13:21is malfunctioning. Well that that's all the feedback I have. I don't know
- 1:13:28if you guys had any other it definitely wouldn't be j L That's right,
- 1:13:32Come on, JL. Oh you know who it would be? Who it
- 1:13:36would be? Uh? Season one knobs who? Because he was literally a
- 1:13:44street punk? Yeah yep, yeah, that's funny, that's true. That's
- 1:13:51true. Um, a hot guy, says Scotty, and Scotty was a
- 1:13:55very popular answer. He was just below McCoy, so I can see that.
- 1:14:01Yeah, all right, awesome, what a fun show, What a
- 1:14:06great last. That's an absolute last. I hope everybody enjoyed it as much
- 1:14:11as I did. Had a good time putting. Ye, game shows are
- 1:14:14fun. We have to do that again, Oh we will. We'll let
- 1:14:17it air out, we'll let it percolateive it time people forget how good it
- 1:14:21was. Then we'll make it the rewatch at some point, and then the
- 1:14:26very next week do the real quick show. Um yeah, Danny June just
- 1:14:32like, no, we won't. Well, we'll see yes, concrats on.
- 1:14:42Nobody needs a spell check? My shit, good, great idea.
- 1:14:46I'll type the questions. I'll email them too. You could just cut and
- 1:14:49paste them onto the board. There you go. Yeah, we'll do it.
- 1:14:55We'll do it, we'll do it. I don't know when we'll do
- 1:14:57it well, because hey, we only got a couple of weeks away for
- 1:15:00angew Worlds. I'm very right right around June, that's two and a half
- 1:15:02weeks from now. I started rewatching Strange New Worlds yesterday, which is something
- 1:15:09I've never done with Discovery never ever, ever ever. Ye, So yeah,
- 1:15:14I want to do that before the four comes out. I'm on the
- 1:15:16road finally again, starting again on Monday. I'm back on the right.
- 1:15:19I haven't been on the road a whole lot at all in the last month.
- 1:15:23So Strange New world comes back June fifteenth, so we're roughly like three
- 1:15:28three weeks away, roughly. Yeah, it's coming around. Next weekend is
- 1:15:33Memorial Day weekend. H I think we're skipping that weekend, right, I
- 1:15:38can't be here but for next weekend. Okay, so we'll be back in
- 1:15:42two weeks then we'll Strange New Worlds comes out the same weekend as The Flash.
- 1:15:48Who does anybody care? I do? I want to That movie looks
- 1:15:53like a train rod. No, no, no, If that movie looks
- 1:15:59it looks great, man, I got no love for same at this point.
- 1:16:04Yeah, I'm like, you know, it's Michael Keaton returning as Batman.
- 1:16:09I know, yeah, I did not get excited about that. Excited
- 1:16:13about that. And it looks like and it looks like they've crafted a very
- 1:16:16interesting story. Allegedly, Tom Cruise loved it. What the rumor is Tom
- 1:16:25Cruise has seen the Flash film and loved it. You know. Here's the
- 1:16:28thing, and I think they're doing this on purpose because there's such a backlash
- 1:16:30about Ezra Miller. They're sending they're sending screeners to famous people in the hopes
- 1:16:35that those famous people will will put out statements. Stephen King. Stephen King
- 1:16:42put out a statement yesterday that he saw the movie and he loved it.
- 1:16:45So, um, if anything, I mean, I don't know. It's
- 1:16:53interesting how they're marketing this, yes, to try to try and get around,
- 1:16:58uh, the issues indeed with him. Indeed, there's rumors, there's
- 1:17:03rumors about a slew of cameos. Yeah. They they played it at CinemaCon
- 1:17:11like last month, which is the big convention for movie theaters. Yeah,
- 1:17:15apparently the reactions was very high. They did not play the end credit scene.
- 1:17:19Apparently that is still you know, something they're holding back. There are
- 1:17:25rumors as to what it is. But I'm not gonna say that. Does
- 1:17:28the end credit scene matter in a movie like this when they aren't really tied
- 1:17:33together the way that like the Marble ones are, or are these going to
- 1:17:36come tied together together? None of it makes sense. Side it's so confusing.
- 1:17:43Well, they have anything about Chad? Do you know anything about the
- 1:17:46storyline? Uh, called flashpoint from the DC commics. Not really, no,
- 1:17:51I'll see. So the short version is, uh, Barry Allen's mother
- 1:17:57was murdered when he was a kid. Oh yeah, I know that.
- 1:18:00He decides somebody to go back in time, but yeah, yeah, ruins
- 1:18:02the timeline and at the end creates a new DC universe and all the stories
- 1:18:08going forward or set. So it's yeah, so except they did it first
- 1:18:14the multiverse. I meant, Daniel, they did it. They did it
- 1:18:17first. He did it first. So they're using this movie as a way
- 1:18:21to connect to all the other ones and at the end not have to connect
- 1:18:28to any of them, or only connect to the ones that they want to
- 1:18:31because they need a hard reset. Yeah, because they're so convoluted and silly
- 1:18:35and weird. And yes, yes, but the way they're doing it,
- 1:18:39they can they can look at stuff and say, we want to keep this,
- 1:18:43We're ignoring this, we want to keep this, We're ignoring this.
- 1:18:45They're working they're working it into the storyline. So it's a setup, I
- 1:18:49mean yeah, but I mean at the end of the movie, they could
- 1:18:53literally dump Ezra Miller and he's this is the only one he's in, and
- 1:18:56then the next movies. He's played by somebody else, and it makes sense
- 1:18:59if they bring in Grant. If they bring in Grant, I don't think
- 1:19:02they're gonna bring in Granting about that. Nah. I like that kid though,
- 1:19:05I do. That's too bad because I like that kid. Yeah,
- 1:19:11that kid, that thirty five year old man. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:17he's better than Ezra Miller. Come on, seriously. Yeah, but we've
- 1:19:20seen like three people play the Flash. It's time for somebody else. Yeah,
- 1:19:25yeah, okay, fair enough? Is that television show done? Is
- 1:19:28he off that? Yeah? It ends like next week. Oh, it
- 1:19:31ends right before the movie comes out, which is good, which which is
- 1:19:35funny because the movie was announced like the second week that the show started,
- 1:19:40and the show ran for nine years. Yeah, so for nine years people
- 1:19:43have been arguing about, you know, they should have him play it.
- 1:19:45No, they should have somebody else play it, right, gotcha? Yeah?
- 1:19:48Yeah. So in other words, it's an extremely expensive movie that won't
- 1:19:54make any of its money back. We'll see going for nine years, someone
- 1:19:59on and off, getting paid here and there, over and over again,
- 1:20:00trying to write this. Yeah. I mean GEMI Christmas, plus all the
- 1:20:04reshoots they've done. They did reshoots with the rock. Yeah, I remember
- 1:20:08hearing about the reshoots. Yeah, yeah, they've done reshoots because of COVID.
- 1:20:12They did reshoots because of now James Gunn. So when did this turn
- 1:20:15into marvel Cast? I mean I like it, don't get me wrong.
- 1:20:17Yeah yeah, Superero casts. Yeah, like marvel cast. See I don't
- 1:20:25care for DC anymore. That's why I said Marvel cast anyway. Sigh.
- 1:20:30I always was as a kid too, I was more marveled than DC.
- 1:20:32Okay, so I always liked iron Man. I wanted to be iron Man.
- 1:20:36I wanted to be Tony Stark. And when I grew up, I
- 1:20:39became Tony Stark. I just did it without being that smart, that rich
- 1:20:44or anything else Tony Stark had. But you know, so not to not
- 1:20:47Tony Stark. No, did you want the drinking problem as well? Or
- 1:20:53yeah? I have that, but it's just looked unfortunately. So alright,
- 1:21:00guys, Well it's been all right, Yeah, yeah, it's been great.
