- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:14Speaker 1: of Long Story Short the podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy,
- 0:17Speaker 1: and today we.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Are discussing Don't Forget I Love You, the fourth movie
- 0:21Speaker 2: in Hallmarks New Year New Movies line up.
- 0:24Speaker 1: For January twenty twenty two. Do you feel like we're
- 0:27Speaker 1: just limping into like the end of January with these movies?
- 0:32Speaker 1: I honestly can't believe. Yes, it's only five movies, it
- 0:36Speaker 1: just feels like so many, you know. I wonder if
- 0:39Speaker 1: that's because they're not cohesive at all. Yeah, there's no
- 0:42Speaker 1: like tying through line between any of them. Nope. I
- 0:46Speaker 1: really think Hallmark needs to take a break from the
- 0:49Speaker 1: themes that they put together for the months, right. Has
- 0:52Speaker 1: that always been a thing for them for several years
- 0:56Speaker 1: at least? But I wonder if it's like, why watch
- 1:00Speaker 1: the movies in this lineup? I don't know, as supposed
- 1:03Speaker 1: to just watch this random movie? Yeah? Did we even
- 1:06Speaker 1: like open the show and say who we are? We did?
- 1:09Speaker 1: We did? Okay? Hi, I don't know if I said hi.

- 2:15Speaker 2: But back to this movie, Wendy, do you have a
- 2:18Speaker 2: synopsis of Don't Forget I Love You?
- 2:20Speaker 3: Sure do?
- 2:22Speaker 1: On her birthdays, Taylor opens a time capsule left by
- 2:24Speaker 1: her deceased mother, which contains a list of challenges forcing
- 2:29Speaker 1: her out of her comfort zone and opening her up
- 2:31Speaker 1: to the possibility of love. Starring Emily Ullerup and Clayton James.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Sorry Emily if I butchered your last name. I think
- 2:40Speaker 1: that sounded great. Cool.
- 2:42Speaker 2: This movie had several working titles, including Romancing the Birthday
- 2:46Speaker 2: Girl and Time Capsule Romance. I'm gonna be honest, I
- 2:50Speaker 2: think all of them, including the title they landed on, stink.
- 2:53Speaker 1: They're terrible. Romancing the Birthday Girl was the working title
- 2:58Speaker 1: when they announced movie earlier. Well, I guess it'd been
- 3:02Speaker 1: late last year.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Even in the app they had it as Romancing the
- 3:06Speaker 2: Birthday Girl until how long last week a few weeks ago,
- 3:10Speaker 2: because you can sink the Hallmark Movie app to your
- 3:14Speaker 2: calendar and sometimes when there's a new listing, I'll do
- 3:16Speaker 2: that and it'll just drop them all in. And it
- 3:18Speaker 2: was listed in my calendar still as Romancing the Birthday Girl.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Oh that's funny. Yeah, I think all those titles are
- 3:24Speaker 1: terrible because really, like he wasn't Romancing the Birthday Girl
- 3:29Speaker 1: in this Time Capsule Romance kind of better than all
- 3:33Speaker 1: of them, but still not my favorite. And don't forget
- 3:36Speaker 1: that I Love You is has nothing to do so generic?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Is it about her mom? Don't forget that I love you?
- 3:45Speaker 1: Which fine, but the focus is on the love story,
- 3:48Speaker 1: not the mom relationship. Yeah. This was filmed in Canada,
- 3:51Speaker 1: including the Squamish British Columbia region and in Vancouver. And
- 3:57Speaker 1: I have to say there were some landscapes that were
- 4:01Speaker 1: so beautiful. Yes, it was clearly filmed in fall. Lots
- 4:05Speaker 1: of that. Yeah, georgeous fall foliage. It was so pretty.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But then I had read that it was filmed in
- 4:11Speaker 1: twenty twenty, Yeah, November twenty twenty and already released in
- 4:16Speaker 1: Hungary in August twenty twenty one. Why why why does
- 4:22Speaker 1: the Hungarian country get it before anybody Else's great question?
- 4:26Speaker 1: Do you know my dogs are from Hungry? I did not. Yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 1: that's where vshlas yes originate, that's it. Didn't know that. Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 2: The suspension bridge that they used in filming is the
- 4:37Speaker 2: Capilano Suspension Bridge, and they filmed there on their very
- 4:40Speaker 2: last day of filming.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Do you think that's because they're like, well, something that happenens,
- 4:47Speaker 1: would you walk on that suspension bridge? I did get
- 4:51Speaker 1: a little bit nervous, Like those wide shots they showed
- 4:54Speaker 1: a bit I was like, I don't know. I mean
- 4:57Speaker 1: here in Orange County there's this big, great orange balloon.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Oh yes, that's like a tethered to the ground hot
- 5:05Speaker 1: air balloon. And the one time I went up in it,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I like dropped to my knees in the basket because
- 5:11Speaker 1: I was like so scared of being so high. And
- 5:13Speaker 1: I was like.
- 5:14Speaker 3: That bridge was over a valley, or you will hummel.
- 5:19Speaker 1: To your death if it breaks. I don't like heights.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I would not enjoy the suspension bridge. It was long.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It was like it looked like a mile long. I
- 5:27Speaker 1: wonder how long it is? You know what. I'm gonna
- 5:28Speaker 1: look it up right now and see how long it is?
- 5:30Speaker 1: One hundred and forty meters long and seventy meters above
- 5:33Speaker 1: the river. I'll do a meter conversion. Four hundred and
- 5:38Speaker 1: sixty feet two hundred and thirty feet above the river. Okay, well,
- 5:43Speaker 1: how far is four hundred and sixty feet? It looked
- 5:47Speaker 1: like it was miles long. A mile is five two
- 5:50Speaker 1: hundred and eighty feet, so it was not miles long. Well,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it looked like it. It was less than one tenth
- 5:55Speaker 1: of a mile, but it was long and scary looking.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Would I would not have enjoyed that at all. And
- 6:02Speaker 1: oh my god, there's a picture I see on the
- 6:03Speaker 1: internet and there's a whole bunch of people on it. No,
- 6:06Speaker 1: no way, no.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And then it's in a rock and sway no, thank you, no,
- 6:11Speaker 2: thank you. Devin Alexander, who plays Kyle, who is Taylor's
- 6:16Speaker 2: coworker in this movie, has been in Where Your Heart
- 6:19Speaker 2: Belongs this year at the Santa Steakout, count on a
- 6:22Speaker 2: Christmas twenty twenty one, Chasing Waterfalls. I'm so sorry you
- 6:25Speaker 2: were in that movie. A New Year's Resolution. Wendy's so
- 6:27Speaker 2: sorry you're in that movie. But all I have to
- 6:29Speaker 2: say is those are all within the last year. I
- 6:31Speaker 2: think it's time for Devin Alexander to have a lead role.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I agree. When I saw him, I was like, I
- 6:36Speaker 1: know his face, I couldn't tell you what movie he's
- 6:38Speaker 1: been in, but like I had the exact same thought,
- 6:40Speaker 1: give this guy a lead role. Yeah, Like he's really
- 6:43Speaker 1: working it hard, Like you know, he's like I'll do anything.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I thought he was great. Annie's very good looking, Like
- 6:49Speaker 1: put him in a lead role, Like, God, already, let's
- 6:52Speaker 1: do it. Let's start a Twitter campaign. What's his name again?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Devin Alexander. All right, Devin, that's a great idea. We
- 6:58Speaker 2: should definitely tweet that.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we will. She's putting it on our to do
- 7:02Speaker 1: a list. It's not on the list. It doesn't happen.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And I find such satisfaction with the scratchy pen crossing
- 7:11Speaker 1: it off. Yes, And I write my to do list
- 7:15Speaker 1: over the weekend, and then I was working a little
- 7:16Speaker 1: bit on Saturday, and look, there's already a bunch of
- 7:18Speaker 1: stuff crossed off. Killing the game, Megan, You're killing the game,
- 7:22Speaker 1: you know. I would like to say that last week
- 7:23Speaker 1: I only had a three day week because my children
- 7:25Speaker 1: didn't have school Monday and Tuesday, and I still, well,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I should have kept that. I really wanted to keep
- 7:30Speaker 1: that list and show you all the things I crossed
- 7:31Speaker 1: off week. It was a good week. You should save
- 7:34Speaker 1: them and then go back at the end of the
- 7:35Speaker 1: year and be like, look at all the things I accomplish,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you know, like a gratitude jar where you like, remember
- 7:40Speaker 1: that when I showed you my daughter has. Yeah, you
- 7:42Speaker 1: should just save them all in like a notebook or
- 7:44Speaker 1: something and be like, look at all the things I
- 7:46Speaker 1: did this year. Love that?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Not mad that the first two weeks are gone. Okay,
- 7:53Speaker 2: what was your first impression of this movie?
- 7:55Speaker 1: My first impression of Don't Forget I Love You is
- 8:01Speaker 1: you had me until that horrible green screen. Oh.
- 8:06Speaker 2: My first impression is I like this way more than
- 8:08Speaker 2: the dumb title made me think I would.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't hate it. I actually kind of liked it.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So I'm gonna start with my like squeeze. Maybe I
- 8:19Speaker 1: liked the story. I mean I don't I don't particularly
- 8:24Speaker 1: like stories about like dead moms and daughters. It's like
- 8:27Speaker 1: too close to home, so like I don't want that.
- 8:30Speaker 1: But I just thought it was I I don't know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: I kind of like a little bit of a challenge.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I like that she was exploring new things. I like
- 8:40Speaker 1: this story. I thought it was a good story. Agree.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I liked the depiction of Taylor's anxiety. Okay, I think
- 8:50Speaker 2: it could have been easy to make it a punchline,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and I think they straddled that.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Line a little bit.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I agree, But I do think it's a good idea
- 8:59Speaker 2: to put these things naturally in films, and they mirrored
- 9:04Speaker 2: that Chloe. So Taylor and Chloe kind of had that
- 9:06Speaker 2: shared experience, and I liked Taylor's worry Angel that.
- 9:09Speaker 1: She gave to Chloe and that they showed strategies for Yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 1: you're gonna be anxious and here are ways to work
- 9:16Speaker 1: through it. I like that. Okay. However, yeah, I thought
- 9:20Speaker 1: I have two notes here. One, I think I think
- 9:23Speaker 1: you're right about, uh, straddling the anxiety thing. Like at
- 9:28Speaker 1: some points I was like, She's it's too much like
- 9:32Speaker 1: dial it back, but it is good to see, like, Oh,
- 9:37Speaker 1: here's a real person who's like dealing with anxiety and
- 9:40Speaker 1: here's how she manages it. Right. Then, on the other hand,
- 9:45Speaker 1: it was like Taylor meets Chloe, and Chloe's like, yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I'm afraid to give this like presentation. She's like, you
- 9:52Speaker 1: are dealing with anxiety, you know what I mean.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I was like, don't project onto this poor child that
- 9:57Speaker 3: you've like really like put it in her head.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Now you're giving her a worry necklace, like oh no, no, no,
- 10:03Speaker 1: no no no, no no. But her dad said to her,
- 10:07Speaker 1: she's really withdrawn since she lost her mom. Uh huh.
- 10:11Speaker 2: He told her she's very nervous about giving this presentation.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I mean, she was dealing with the reality fair. I
- 10:20Speaker 2: don't know, it just was funny to me. And then
- 10:22Speaker 2: I was like, oh, she gave like a presentation about
- 10:24Speaker 2: her dad. Is she like in middle school? Oh my god,
- 10:26Speaker 2: she's gonna get breaked over the cools. Yes, And what
- 10:30Speaker 2: presentation requires you to just pick any topic in the
- 10:32Speaker 2: world to present?
- 10:34Speaker 1: She's like, well, elephants, Okay, fine, if it's like a
- 10:37Speaker 1: science class or something, you know. I don't know, but
- 10:40Speaker 1: that's a terrible teacher who gives you no direction. Just
- 10:43Speaker 1: present on anything, anything you want to. Just get up
- 10:45Speaker 1: here in time. I'll be here on my computer. What
- 10:49Speaker 1: you're talking about. Here's a twist. I really like the kids.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I was wondering Wendy has a long habit of not
- 11:00Speaker 1: enjoying the children. Her name is Daphne Hoskins. She was
- 11:08Speaker 1: in the Babysitters Club series, Oh as Vanessa Pike. Okay,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I don't I've seen it. No, no, no, you know
- 11:16Speaker 1: Mallory the one with eight she's Malag's one of the
- 11:20Speaker 1: junior members. And Mallory has a bunch of brothers and sisters.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Really none of them, not resume in my head, No,
- 11:24Speaker 1: none of that. Really. I think I saw the first
- 11:25Speaker 1: season and I don't Magan these things in out. I
- 11:29Speaker 1: don't have you any did you not read The Babysitters
- 11:32Speaker 1: Club as at all? I was okay, I came from
- 11:36Speaker 1: a broken home. I was not to say I was cool. No.
- 11:42Speaker 3: No.
- 11:42Speaker 1: She was also in a TV show called Scaredy Cats?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Is this TV series twenty twenty one on Netflix? Never
- 11:51Speaker 1: heard of that? But it looks cute. She's got a
- 11:53Speaker 1: really big resume here. Anyway. I thought she was cute
- 11:57Speaker 1: and good. I agree, I have on my list. I
- 12:02Speaker 1: did like Taylor's affirmation podcast that she listened to every morning.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Who Are You?
- 12:07Speaker 1: That's something that I would say that I like, I
- 12:10Speaker 1: wouldn't listen to it.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I felt like it made the movie feel very current.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It felt very real, like a very real part of
- 12:18Speaker 2: some Wednesday that they've got their morning podcast that they
- 12:21Speaker 2: listen to as they're getting out the door. Obviously, the
- 12:23Speaker 2: timing was like the whole affirmation lasts the entire time
- 12:26Speaker 2: she's getting ready walking to work until she sits down. Okay,
- 12:31Speaker 2: this is one of those suspend your disbelief.
- 12:33Speaker 1: For a moment. But I enjoyed that. Okay, I'm so
- 12:36Speaker 1: surprised to hear you say that. So surprised. I was
- 12:40Speaker 1: excited to see how that time capsule challenges like unfolded.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Yeah they weren't groundbreaking, no, but they weren't overly cheesy.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I think they did a good job of pushing her
- 12:52Speaker 1: out of her comfort zone. When do you think her
- 12:54Speaker 1: mom died? Did they say how long her mom had
- 12:57Speaker 1: been dead? No, I don't have that. And this was
- 12:59Speaker 1: her birthday? How was she turning thirty? Is that she's
- 13:03Speaker 1: older than that? I think? So she's thirty seven years old. Okay,
- 13:08Speaker 1: so she's young and beautiful. I mean, don't get me wrong.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It was just weird, Like I thought, I wonder how
- 13:14Speaker 1: long ago the mom died, and her mom's like, you're
- 13:17Speaker 1: never gonna Be're like, you're gonna need these challenges when
- 13:21Speaker 1: you turn thirty because you're not gonna be a full
- 13:24Speaker 1: adult yet. Do you know she didn't have any confidence
- 13:28Speaker 1: that this daughter was going to like break out of
- 13:31Speaker 1: her shell and become this Mary Posta butterfly as an
- 13:34Speaker 1: adult Mary Posa. So I hear that. One of the
- 13:41Speaker 1: things I.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Liked, and this is coming back to it, is when
- 13:43Speaker 2: the dad reveals that the mom did the same challenges,
- 13:46Speaker 2: and I thought that was such a sweet scene when
- 13:48Speaker 2: he whips out the photo.
- 13:49Speaker 1: The polaroids, which was a nice touch. I thought, a
- 13:53Speaker 1: very nice touch because obviously they're not going to have
- 13:56Speaker 1: them on a cell phone.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and that there was like a younger shot of
- 14:01Speaker 2: the dad there.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I thought that was a nice surprise, little moment. I
- 14:06Speaker 1: like these father daughter moments. They're very sweet to me.
- 14:08Speaker 1: But I hear you that it feels like she didn't
- 14:12Speaker 1: have faith that her daughter would. To me, it feels
- 14:16Speaker 1: like she just knew who her daughter was. I mean,
- 14:19Speaker 1: these are like questions like for this scriptwriters, like what's
- 14:23Speaker 1: the backstory here? Right? I need to know the backstory? Okay.
- 14:26Speaker 1: The last thing that I liked about the story is
- 14:28Speaker 1: I liked and believed the natural developing relationship between Taylor
- 14:34Speaker 1: and Josh one hundred percent agree. You know, like when
- 14:38Speaker 1: you meet somebody and you like them instantly and you
- 14:40Speaker 1: want to hang out with them all the time. That's
- 14:41Speaker 1: what I felt like between them, Like she said, hey,
- 14:44Speaker 1: come do this with me, or hey come to you know,
- 14:46Speaker 1: it felt natural. It felt like, oh, yes, she would
- 14:49Speaker 1: totally be inviting him to do that. Mm hmm, except
- 14:51Speaker 1: like when she showed up at school, I was like,
- 14:55Speaker 1: that's kind of weird.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But didn't he tell her to come with the daughter
- 14:58Speaker 2: there to help Chloe? Yeah, but he had said, like,
- 15:01Speaker 2: she's gonna be hanging out while I coach, So that
- 15:03Speaker 2: was that was pre planned. That was his idea, Okay,
- 15:06Speaker 2: not her just dropping in side note here.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think Clayton James looks like Scott Wolf. Do you
- 15:12Speaker 1: know Scott Wolf from Party of Five? Yeah? You don't
- 15:15Speaker 1: think so, you don't see it? Like at times I
- 15:18Speaker 1: was like, oh, he kind of looks like Tom Cruise,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and then I was like, oh, but no, Scott Wolf
- 15:22Speaker 1: looked like Tom Cruise and he kind of looks like
- 15:25Speaker 1: Scott Wolf. Look at this photo, he looks like neither
- 15:27Speaker 1: of those. No, it was the mouth. It was like
- 15:29Speaker 1: when he smiled, it looked more like he's a cutie.
- 15:32Speaker 1: He's he's a contender for future editions of the shirt
- 15:35Speaker 1: and my Phooh wow, I haven't seen him in anything else.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I don't even neither have I he was new to me.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Has he been in anything? I'm gonna look what Clayton
- 15:44Speaker 1: is one of my favorite names. Fyi's my dad's middle name.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I just love it. It is. Wynn calls the heart
- 15:51Speaker 1: Brittany ever after. Oh, he's right in front of any
- 15:55Speaker 1: fetter Line. What why? But I think we did talk
- 16:01Speaker 1: about this guy before, because I remember we talked about
- 16:04Speaker 1: him playing Kevin Fetterline in a movie called Brittany ever
- 16:08Speaker 1: After from twenty seventeen, which I don't know if I've
- 16:12Speaker 1: ever seen. I might have to watch that. Do you
- 16:15Speaker 1: know that he has a stage name? No, what is it?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Clayton Chitty Chitty. That's a terrible stage name. Think he
- 16:24Speaker 1: has changed it, but if you scroll down in his IMDb,
- 16:29Speaker 1: he's listed as as Clayton Chitty Chitty is too close
- 16:32Speaker 1: to shitty and fire that manager whoever said you should.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I wonder if that's his actual real name, if Chitty
- 16:39Speaker 1: is the real last name, and then like you need
- 16:41Speaker 1: to change that, dude. Yeah, Clayton James sounds like a
- 16:44Speaker 1: country music star. Yeah. I did like the moment when
- 16:46Speaker 1: she goes gro striving without her list and she throws
- 16:48Speaker 1: her list and then she turns back around. She's like,
- 16:50Speaker 1: let's not make a mess and throws it away. Yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I thought that was that was cute. I thought that
- 16:55Speaker 1: dad was a little bit too meddling, like he was
- 16:58Speaker 1: really giving your like some advice a lot well, and
- 17:02Speaker 1: I felt like he wasn't supportive. She's like I met someone.
- 17:04Speaker 1: He's like, oh yeah, yeah. Was it good enough? Was
- 17:07Speaker 1: the vibe I was getting, like did you do this
- 17:09Speaker 1: challenge well enough? And then he was like she goes,
- 17:12Speaker 1: I have friends and he's like, oh yeah really. I
- 17:15Speaker 1: was like that is hurtful, which dad, seriously, I'd be like, okay,
- 17:19Speaker 1: i'll see you in three months. Like, no, my dad
- 17:21Speaker 1: ever said like you have friends? Really? I know that's
- 17:24Speaker 1: not the I support you and think you're the you
- 17:26Speaker 1: hung the Moon dad vibe that I wanted totally. And
- 17:30Speaker 1: his art sucked. Sorry to whoever painted those for the props.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I wish for no more green screens. Oh well, it
- 17:41Speaker 1: was terrible. First of all, when they were driving, I
- 17:45Speaker 1: was like, Okay, fine, here it is. But they get
- 17:48Speaker 1: out of the car and I don't know they are
- 17:52Speaker 1: on Mars or something. That was so incredibly bad. Behind
- 17:56Speaker 1: them and in front of them, I thought, Oh, when we.
- 17:58Speaker 2: See them looking out over the land, surely we'll see something,
- 18:01Speaker 2: because we've seen so many beautiful landscapes in these movies.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yes, and even when they're in that forest doing the bridge, Yes,
- 18:10Speaker 1: they couldn't have been there, they couldn't earn twenty feet
- 18:12Speaker 1: to the right and taking a shot of them looking
- 18:14Speaker 1: out over the trees. They didn't have to have anything
- 18:16Speaker 1: identifying the spot, but horrible. And Clayton James himself on
- 18:21Speaker 1: his Instagram has a photo of Clayton and Emily standing
- 18:24Speaker 1: in front of their car in front of a green screen.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Oh my god. I was like, yeah, I mean, at
- 18:29Speaker 1: least you own it looks ridiculous when you're driving with
- 18:32Speaker 1: those trees gone by the window. It's so bad. I mean,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I've never seen anything like so offensive like that. It
- 18:39Speaker 1: was horrible. I agree. When they get out of that car,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I had a physical reaction. Yeah, me too. I was like,
- 18:45Speaker 1: oh my god, because like I had just gotten over
- 18:49Speaker 1: like the car thing, and I was like totally thinking
- 18:50Speaker 1: of what I said last week, like get a rig
- 18:52Speaker 1: do that? How hard is that? And then how hard
- 18:55Speaker 1: is it to take an outside shot? You could be
- 18:58Speaker 1: in the freaking behind the hotel. Make it tight, star
- 19:01Speaker 1: wagons are yeah, make it tight? Yeah, ar It looked
- 19:05Speaker 1: like somebody did, like a water painting had been stood
- 19:08Speaker 1: in front of it. It was I was like, what
- 19:10Speaker 1: am I looking at? It was so someone googled pictures
- 19:14Speaker 1: of mountains and blew it up on their green screen.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Stand here and look at this green screen and pretend
- 19:19Speaker 1: you see something, And I could just see them cracking up.
- 19:22Speaker 1: They're like us, see a tree? So dumb. I hated it.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I mean I didn't even put it on my wish
- 19:29Speaker 1: for just because it's it's should just be given for me. Now,
- 19:34Speaker 1: Oh it's time for Did you see that? Can I say? One? First?
- 19:39Speaker 1: In the beginning of the movie, she gets ready, she
- 19:41Speaker 1: goes to work, She talks to Kevin, then she goes,
- 19:46Speaker 1: gotta go have dinner with my dad. She said, work
- 19:48Speaker 1: for one yeah, minute, yes, but yeah, I don't understand that.
- 19:53Speaker 1: She come with that. You know how they like break
- 19:56Speaker 1: up the time? Oh, but they didn't. This is this
- 19:59Speaker 1: was such a mistake. She's obviously getting to work in
- 20:01Speaker 1: the morning. She talks to Kyle, what are you doing
- 20:04Speaker 1: for your birthday tonight? He tells her, if your plans
- 20:06Speaker 1: are dumb, And all they had to do was her
- 20:10Speaker 1: turn to her computer to work, and then there's like
- 20:12Speaker 1: a fade into her showing up at her dad's. We
- 20:13Speaker 1: knew she was going there that night, but.
- 20:16Speaker 4: She goes, okay, bye, like what what I I didn't
- 20:23Speaker 4: really notice that scene because I couldn't couldn't get past
- 20:26Speaker 4: the aggressive essential oil steamer on her hand.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Every time she's in the office. It was like a geyser. Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I've never seen one that, just like I need more
- 20:36Speaker 1: of a miss. Yeah. It was like a straight shot
- 20:40Speaker 1: up Like it was so crazy. It was distracting every time.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yes, And I was like, would I want to work
- 20:47Speaker 3: in the I like an essential oil but diffuse her
- 20:50Speaker 3: that's the word for it.
- 20:51Speaker 1: But what I want to be like in the office
- 20:54Speaker 1: with some broad broad I don't know where that worked for,
- 20:58Speaker 1: but like with hernial oils all day, every day and
- 21:01Speaker 1: all that stuff, Like and Kyle comes in and he's like,
- 21:05Speaker 1: what are we choosing today? No, I feel like that.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Needs to be not a thing in an office, like
- 21:13Speaker 2: don't burn your candles.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Don't make your popcorn, and a shared space, don't eat
- 21:19Speaker 1: reheat your salmon from the nafety.
- 21:22Speaker 2: For a long time, I don't know if this is
- 21:23Speaker 2: still the case of my they had a rule that
- 21:25Speaker 2: there was no popcorn allowed in my dad's office. Oh really,
- 21:28Speaker 2: because it always got burned or it would just stink
- 21:30Speaker 2: up the entire office.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Why does it always get burned. I don't know, that's funny.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I love popcorn, you doo. I want some right now too.
- 21:38Speaker 1: The other thing that I notice is in the morning,
- 21:41Speaker 1: like you said, she's listening to her meditation thing or
- 21:44Speaker 1: whatever podcast. Yeah, every day she gets up, she dous
- 21:47Speaker 1: the same thing. She's very organized. Like I knew, like
- 21:50Speaker 1: you were leaning hard into it. You loved it. You
- 21:52Speaker 1: loved when she opened the refrigerator and everything was like, yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 1: that's not what my fridge looks like. But she would
- 21:58Speaker 1: make her orange.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Juice with this like restaurant grade juice press everything, and
- 22:05Speaker 3: I saw it would be like a shot, just a
- 22:08Speaker 3: little knocked back, and I was like, all that for
- 22:11Speaker 3: your a little shot of orange shoes.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I was like, that's a lot. It's a lot. It's
- 22:16Speaker 1: a lot. And then I don't want to be a
- 22:20Speaker 1: terrible human. But her roots were terrible. You're gonna regret that. No,
- 22:25Speaker 1: w they were so bad though. It was so bad.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Is that a look? No, they filmed this in twenty twenty.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Girlfriend did not get her hair done because of COVID okay,
- 22:36Speaker 1: and she had a baby. Would you like me to
- 22:38Speaker 1: read you a tweet? Okay? Fine?
- 22:41Speaker 2: A tweet says I love Emily olla Up and anything
- 22:44Speaker 2: she is in, but her hair in this movie is
- 22:46Speaker 2: so bad. Salons have been open since May twenty twenty.
- 22:49Speaker 2: No reason to have roots like that, and Emily olla
- 22:51Speaker 2: Up herself responds.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Oh goodness, Wait did she tag her in it? No?
- 22:55Speaker 2: Man, Oh, but that tweet is in response to another
- 22:59Speaker 2: tweet where Emily uller Up is tagged and don't Forget
- 23:02Speaker 2: I Love You is hashtagged. So hmm, okay, Emily says, ooh,
- 23:06Speaker 2: how about having your first child a pandemic and some
- 23:09Speaker 2: go to old fashioned post pardon depression while trying to
- 23:11Speaker 2: navigate where on the world to be for work slash
- 23:14Speaker 2: life slash family.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Be kind. You never know what someone else may be
- 23:16Speaker 1: going through, my friend hashtag don't forget I Love You? Okay,
- 23:20Speaker 1: fair twenty twenty was a shit show. We've all established that,
- 23:24Speaker 1: and then go back and listen to me weep on
- 23:27Speaker 1: this weeks Tuesday episode of the podcast. But okay, all right.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I knew that she had a baby. I knew I
- 23:33Speaker 1: have twenty daved and I wondered if it was gonna
- 23:36Speaker 1: come up. And I'm just wondering if why can't makeup department,
- 23:41Speaker 1: throw a spray or something on the head just to
- 23:45Speaker 1: get it to blend a little bit better. Yeah, Like,
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm sad that she was dealing with like postpardon depression
- 23:52Speaker 1: and in the pandemic, and I'm sure she had to
- 23:56Speaker 1: go to Canada to work, you know. Yeah, you know, Okay,
- 23:59Speaker 1: I guess it. I feel bad, don't know. When they
- 24:03Speaker 1: go on to Bridge, it's definitely like misting, Like it's
- 24:06Speaker 1: very wet that they're out there, and that's like my
- 24:09Speaker 1: biggest nightmare. Like I hate when my hair gets wet
- 24:11Speaker 1: because it turns like a weird color and it gets curly.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And the next scene, like they get out of their
- 24:16Speaker 1: car and her hair's all great again, like it's all
- 24:18Speaker 1: blow it out. I was watching it with my daughter.
- 24:20Speaker 1: She goes, wow her hair. Between the two scenes, I'm like,
- 24:23Speaker 1: I know, thank you.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yes, because her hair definitely did get like wavy in
- 24:27Speaker 2: the mist, which happens okay. At one point, Taylor and
- 24:32Speaker 2: Kyle are organizing a garage and he's in a suit
- 24:35Speaker 2: and she's in like a silk blouse and heels. They're
- 24:37Speaker 2: like labeling sporting goods. Yeah yeah, girlfriend, you're in yoga pants.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Half of this movie. You need to have an organizing wardrobe.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's okay that you're not in your office clothes when
- 24:50Speaker 1: you're in someone's garage with their sporting goods. Are we
- 24:53Speaker 1: to say that she's like the home edit, like that's
- 24:56Speaker 1: what her job is like? Yes, and the home Edit
- 24:58Speaker 1: wears sweatpants, yoga pants, and branded T shirts when they
- 25:01Speaker 1: work in people's homes. Do you have to have like
- 25:04Speaker 1: specialized training for that? No? I feel like I could
- 25:07Speaker 1: just start that company, Like, yeah, I would love let
- 25:10Speaker 1: me organize your drawers and you pay me. Should we
- 25:14Speaker 1: do that? No? You don't want to do that. Too
- 25:16Speaker 1: many things on our plate. Too many things. Also, I
- 25:18Speaker 1: don't want to do that. Okay, we need to talk
- 25:20Speaker 1: about Sarah. Okay, yes, I have some notes. Go ahead.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Sarah is the woman who appears in their home, and
- 25:27Speaker 1: it takes several scenes before we even find out who
- 25:29Speaker 1: Sarah is, which is a mistake. I know it's supposed
- 25:32Speaker 1: to be mysterious, like, oh, maybe she's the girlfriend. We
- 25:36Speaker 1: find out she's the wife's best friend. Fine, he was
- 25:39Speaker 1: gonna propose to her without ever even dating her, That's
- 25:44Speaker 1: what I wrote, Dan. Are we to believe that Josh
- 25:46Speaker 1: was going to propose to his dead wife's bff because
- 25:49Speaker 1: he wanted a mother figure for Chloe. They definitely hooked up.
- 25:53Speaker 1: They hooked up. Oh, they might not have like seeded. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 1: like he's just gonna have this ring and like purpose, well,
- 26:00Speaker 1: let's just see if we can make it happen. It
- 26:03Speaker 1: was weird.
- 26:03Speaker 2: She does a complete one eighty from like finding the
- 26:06Speaker 2: ring and having this is this the surprise? Then Taylor
- 26:10Speaker 2: comes in has her full on meltdown, which I don't
- 26:12Speaker 2: blame her because what's happening. And then Josh explains what
- 26:16Speaker 2: he was gonna do, and she's like you should be
- 26:18Speaker 2: with Taylor, Like, but you clearly were happy to see
- 26:21Speaker 2: this ring and they were leading down that moment. He's like,
- 26:24Speaker 2: you said you had something for me.
- 26:26Speaker 1: They're hinting, and then she immediately is like good with
- 26:29Speaker 1: Josh and Taylor. Yeah, it was weird. It was a weird.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It was not even needed to be honest. Also, why
- 26:37Speaker 1: would you put a birth certificate in a time plow?
- 26:39Speaker 1: Oh my god, yes, right right, and then she pulled
- 26:43Speaker 1: out that first two set. Was like ooh gross, but yeah,
- 26:45Speaker 1: a birth certificate. I was like, she needs that.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Like what happens if the time council gets lost, Like
- 26:50Speaker 3: you bury it, you can never find it, remember where
- 26:52Speaker 3: you buried it.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I mean it was in excellent condition for having it
- 26:54Speaker 2: buried for a long time. But you don't need your
- 26:57Speaker 2: birth certificate. You don't have a passport. Yeah, and she's
- 27:00Speaker 2: so organized. You're telling me she doesn't know where her
- 27:02Speaker 2: birth certificate is.
- 27:03Speaker 3: She doesn't have that in a file marked birth certificate
- 27:07Speaker 3: important documents.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Also, did you notice that there were fake flowers in
- 27:13Speaker 1: the dad's backyard? Yeah, it was terrible. Why do they
- 27:16Speaker 1: do that? It's a pretty yard. They didn't why? I know,
- 27:19Speaker 1: you couldn't have gone I mean the fake flowers cost money.
- 27:21Speaker 1: You couldn't have gone to the nursery and thrown some
- 27:23Speaker 1: in there. Dress some moms in there, impatience something. Yeah. Right,
- 27:29Speaker 1: what did you rate this movie? I gave it three
- 27:33Speaker 1: point seventy five stars. Oh, three point five is what
- 27:36Speaker 1: I gave it. Okay, See this was almost a four
- 27:39Speaker 1: star movie for me. I actually really enjoyed it. I
- 27:42Speaker 1: really enjoyed Emily Uller up me too. I liked her
- 27:46Speaker 1: a lot. But the green screen and the like I
- 27:50Speaker 1: love us at the end, like knocked it down a
- 27:53Speaker 1: couple for me. Yeah, I agree.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Again, we don't eat and I love you get like, hey,
- 28:01Speaker 2: let's see where this is going moment or like I'm
- 28:04Speaker 2: really enjoying, Like, let's acknowledge that this is something more
- 28:06Speaker 2: than just friendly neighbors. You Hallmark writers have an opportunity,
- 28:11Speaker 2: or it doesn't need to be I love you. Tell
- 28:15Speaker 2: someone how you feel about them could have been that
- 28:17Speaker 2: final challenge.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Totally and it could have gone any direction. Right. She
- 28:20Speaker 1: could be in a relationship and she could just be like, yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 1: tell your friends, like make sure they know how important
- 28:24Speaker 1: they are to you. Like what, Okay, that's what I'm saying.
- 28:28Speaker 1: The mom had no confidence in her daughter. Now you
- 28:31Speaker 1: need to tell somebody you love you and get married
- 28:33Speaker 1: already because it works for me and your dad talk
- 28:37Speaker 1: about expectations. No, too hard. Next week we have Butler's
- 28:42Speaker 1: in Love. Guys. I don't even know what's happening here.
- 28:45Speaker 1: There is a Butler Academy. It's almost like didn't we
- 28:49Speaker 1: watch one about a winee. It's almost the same. Like
- 28:52Speaker 1: I feel like she's in this man's world and she's
- 28:56Speaker 1: gonna be a butler and but like she's gonna have
- 28:59Speaker 1: a hard time. At one point in the.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Preview, they call it buttling, like you're not a good
- 29:05Speaker 2: you're not good at buttling or your buttling?
- 29:06Speaker 1: Does that a work work? I don't know. Is there
- 29:08Speaker 1: a Butler's Academy? We hold it, save it for Nose
- 29:12Speaker 1: and notes next week. Okay, we'll be on Saturday, January
- 29:16Speaker 1: twenty ninth. We'll be back with our review of that
- 29:18Speaker 1: next week.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Before you go, if you haven't left a review of
- 29:22Speaker 2: the podcast, we would love your five star rating and review.
- 29:26Speaker 2: You can leave reviews both in the Apple podcast system
- 29:28Speaker 2: and in Spotify, and Wendy has written a great blog
- 29:31Speaker 2: post all about how to leave reviews, so if you
- 29:34Speaker 2: need to know how to do that.
- 29:37Speaker 1: People click on it daily. I might need to update it. Okay, okay,
- 29:40Speaker 1: and maybe one for Spotify thing.
- 29:43Speaker 2: We'll find that in the show notes. If you don't
- 29:45Speaker 2: know how to do that, it's quite easy. Thank you
- 29:47Speaker 2: so much for listening. Have a great weekend, See you
- 29:51Speaker 2: next week.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Goodbye. Sorry, Emily, do you know
