- 0:00Speaker 1: I know Friday are the days that we do are
- 0:02Speaker 1: what do you do? You know? Hypothetical situation? Can I
- 0:05Speaker 1: give you an early one? Can I give you a
- 0:06Speaker 1: little premature hypothetical?
- 0:08Speaker 2: It was like, you can't spring this on me because
- 0:09Speaker 2: I already struggle on Fridays.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Let alone. Now, bake one up quick, that'd be fun. No,
- 0:14Speaker 1: a question for you and everybody listening. If you had
- 0:16Speaker 1: to get you had the choice, you had to pick
- 0:18Speaker 1: one of these two options. First option being a really
- 0:21Speaker 1: good fresh cup of coffee. Key word is really good? Exactly. Okay,
- 0:27Speaker 1: there's a difference. What I'm drinking out of this styrofolm
- 0:29Speaker 1: cup right now, probably not going to fall into that umbrella,
- 0:32Speaker 1: no offense. But option number two, making love.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You gotta pick. You gotta have one or the other.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I feel like that's super easy. Yeah, me too, Give
- 0:44Speaker 2: me a little Marvin Well, Marvin Day.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. You must not appreciate a good cup of
- 0:49Speaker 1: coffee like most Americans, because a new study say just
- 0:52Speaker 1: about half of them say a fresh cup of coffee
- 0:54Speaker 1: is better than making love. Now, there's a lot of
- 0:58Speaker 1: variables here. Are you sure there? Looking for love in
- 1:01Speaker 1: all the wrong places? My goodness, It just depends on well,
- 1:04Speaker 1: how good is the coffee and how good is the love? True?
- 1:09Speaker 1: It really just depends Yeah, yeah, no, I mean listen,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I love a good cup of coffee.
- 1:14Speaker 2: No, is there a time frame on this, like right
- 1:16Speaker 2: away when you wake up? Well, we said yesterday, what
- 1:18Speaker 2: thirty five minutes? I mean as far as are we
- 1:21Speaker 2: talking morning, because most people are waking up getting a.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Coffee, we talked to coffee or exactly. This is what
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm saying, morning coffee, afternoon love. I don't know which one.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I don't know what what's better. I don't know what
- 1:35Speaker 1: when do it for your coffee in the morning. That's
- 1:38Speaker 1: a classic answer, pretty traditional answer. Now, what do you
- 1:41Speaker 1: prefer your love? Ah? I don't know, Yeah, because the
- 1:46Speaker 1: coffee plays a part too. I mean, the breath situation
- 1:49Speaker 1: in the morning is yes, is it. I'm not a
- 1:51Speaker 1: big fan some people. Some people that they prefer it
- 1:55Speaker 1: they go nuts over the morning. Yeah, a lot of
- 1:57Speaker 1: people that's like their jam. Yeah, i'd have to say.
- 2:01Speaker 1: But then nighttime I have a hard time. You know,
- 2:03Speaker 1: night is really stressful for me, like going to bed,
- 2:06Speaker 1: the pressure of having to fall asleep, So I don't
- 2:09Speaker 1: you know, throwing that out of there. Really sometime in
- 2:11Speaker 1: the mid after I was gonna say, I'm kind of
- 2:13Speaker 1: a mid day really, you're kind of feeling your best.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Mainly because our life is crazy. So in the morning
- 2:18Speaker 2: that's just I just feel rude, yeah, because it feels
- 2:22Speaker 2: like it's the middle of the night.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and you kind of you're always having to kind
- 2:25Speaker 1: of wake the other one up a little bit. Yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 1: there's that they're not literally awake, but just sort of
- 2:29Speaker 1: like rile them up, you know what I'm saying. And
- 2:33Speaker 1: then night I'm with you. It sounds like great, okay,
- 2:37Speaker 1: here we go.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but then I'm like I'm just like really really tired,
- 2:41Speaker 2: and I'm in there and I'm all cozy and I
- 2:44Speaker 2: just yeah and there snuggle.
- 2:47Speaker 1: They say, you're not supposed to work out before bed.
- 2:50Speaker 1: That's what you're doing basically, not to mention all sorts
- 2:53Speaker 1: of other holy chemicals running through your body. But back
- 2:57Speaker 1: to the coffee. They say that, you know, the coffee
- 3:01Speaker 1: can turn what would be the worst day right into
- 3:04Speaker 1: a good day. It's amazing what it does. I mean,
- 3:07Speaker 1: guess I've never really had this kind of love for coffee. No,
- 3:10Speaker 1: you haven't, I really haven't.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I just kind of got I've been drinking black coffee
- 3:14Speaker 2: for a couple of years now.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you're kind of a late comer.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And I just I don't know, like if I
- 3:19Speaker 2: go to a coffee shop, I can appreciate a good coffee, yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 2: but it's really not doing much for me.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm not going like, oh my gosh, this is so great.
- 3:28Speaker 1: It's just such a mental thing. I just love it.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I just love everything about it. When we were in Italy,
- 3:33Speaker 1: like every morning having coffee at the little cafes.
- 3:36Speaker 2: You it tastes different or is it the ambiance? Like
- 3:38Speaker 2: that's what I wonder, is it's the cup? Because for me,
- 3:41Speaker 2: I get this when it comes to wine, if you're
- 3:44Speaker 2: like at a wine bar for some reason, it just
- 3:46Speaker 2: it hits different, the certain wine glass.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I mean I get that. No, it's it's all. It
- 3:52Speaker 1: is totally like drinking beer too, like drinking a warm
- 3:56Speaker 1: kind of room temperature bush light out of a can,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you know, just in some okay, but like we're at
- 4:02Speaker 1: a hotel Saturday night. We think of a nice hotel.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Everything's real white and clean. You're at the hotel bar
- 4:08Speaker 1: and they just pour it out of a draft like
- 4:10Speaker 1: a tall, cold, crisp beard, like that setting there. It
- 4:16Speaker 1: took you to a play best. Yeah, and there is
- 4:18Speaker 1: something odd about like hotel coffee too.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Not in your room, but if they have like a
- 4:23Speaker 2: little coffee shop or you're going somewhere, it hits different.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Absolutely all right, Well guess maybe you're swaying me.
- 4:30Speaker 1: To the coffee. Maybe try both. Anybody ever considered mixing
- 4:33Speaker 1: a little coffee into their love making? Like it a
- 4:36Speaker 1: minute in the morning, Big ninety eight point seven when
- 4:38Speaker 1: you were like really young, do you ever remember or
- 4:40Speaker 1: maybe your kids have done something so shockingly bad that
- 4:44Speaker 1: it's so out of character, but they just don't know.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Because here a kid. So think about that, because I'm
- 4:49Speaker 1: reading this story about an eight year old girl eight,
- 4:52Speaker 1: so we're talking what second grade, was caught driving her
- 4:57Speaker 1: mom's car. Oh gosh, at a a total of ten miles.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So report comes in of a missing child, followed by
- 5:07Speaker 1: a report from the highway that an unusually young girl
- 5:12Speaker 1: was seen driving a vehicle. Well, police find the girl safe,
- 5:15Speaker 1: thank god. Where was she casually shopping inside of a
- 5:20Speaker 1: target stop?
- 5:22Speaker 2: So she drove the vehicle, barked it, and walked in
- 5:26Speaker 2: as though it was.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Her day job. Yep, exactly, just bruising the target. Now,
- 5:32Speaker 1: police do say when they finally confronted the young girl,
- 5:35Speaker 1: she did admit to hitting a mailbox on the way,
- 5:37Speaker 1: but otherwise for the most part, pretty solid. It was
- 5:40Speaker 1: just shocking. Eight years old. You don't know the rules
- 5:42Speaker 1: of the road, like directionally what and you said ten
- 5:46Speaker 1: miles ten? I mean if it was down the block,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I would be shocked ten miles. That's amazing. Yeah, I don't.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I've lived here my whole life. I don't know if
- 5:55Speaker 1: I could get to Target without a GP an kidd,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I could find my us.
- 6:00Speaker 2: As far as traffic goes, wherever you're at, I mean,
- 6:02Speaker 2: no matter where you're at, Target's going to have some traffic,
- 6:06Speaker 2: So you're going to have to you know what I mean?
- 6:08Speaker 1: And how tall are you hitting the gas? I have
- 6:11Speaker 1: a lot of questions, Sarah. I mean, it's unbelievable. Now,
- 6:14Speaker 1: police say they they did let her finish the frappuccino
- 6:17Speaker 1: she had purchased. She also rolled in with her own money.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I mean, listen, if you're driving eight years old, I'm
- 6:24Speaker 1: guessing you've got at least access to some fines. Whether
- 6:27Speaker 1: that's feeling it out of your parents purse a little nervous.
- 6:30Speaker 2: But also, am I just discrediting crediting second graders? And
- 6:34Speaker 2: how I'm trying to remember they are? I mean, I remember.
- 6:37Speaker 2: All I remember is my second grade teacher being really mean,
- 6:40Speaker 2: and that's it. I don't remember anything about second grader.
- 6:42Speaker 2: To share names, it was Missus Lindenberg or something like.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It was in cholera. Oh got you? Well, I don't know.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I remember doing bad things as a really young kid.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I remember one. I think we were in first grade
- 6:57Speaker 1: and somehow somebody had the idea we were going to
- 7:00Speaker 1: smoke a cigarette and we got caught doing that, which
- 7:03Speaker 1: is insane. You're in first grade.
- 7:05Speaker 2: See, we didn't do any like. I don't remember doing
- 7:08Speaker 2: anything for a second grade. I think the when I
- 7:10Speaker 2: started getting real crazy was probably fifth sixth grade, like
- 7:15Speaker 2: in that summer in there.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But that's no longer like innocent fun. That's like you're
- 7:19Speaker 1: developing into a bad person.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Well, I remember going back to what you were just
- 7:24Speaker 2: talking about, those disgusting things.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But we would find used ones. Are you talking about cigarettes?
- 7:29Speaker 1: Oh you were smoking real cigarettes?
- 7:32Speaker 2: No, we'd find like a used one, like but and
- 7:34Speaker 2: then like try to relight it, or we would like
- 7:37Speaker 2: roll up grass like just so gross like and just disgusting.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Thinking you were like trying to be cool. I'm like,
- 7:43Speaker 2: what are you doing?
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, one puff and you quickly realized, you know, that's
- 7:48Speaker 1: not the It's not quite as cool as it seems.
- 7:51Speaker 2: No, I mean we also grew up in a stage
- 7:53Speaker 2: where they made it look cool.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Well, candy cigarettes didn't help. Oh gosh, remember sucking on
- 7:59Speaker 1: those boys back in the day.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Or I'd always get the beef jerky chewing tobacco. Did
- 8:03Speaker 2: you ever see the beef jerky and you'd get it
- 8:05Speaker 2: and you'd eat it and you'd put it in your lip.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Oh that too. It was beef jerky. It was so disgusting,
- 8:11Speaker 1: like unbelievably salty. And yeah, they really did glamorize it.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Not to mention fun dip kind of looks a lot
- 8:19Speaker 1: like crack cocaine. You know what I'm saying, Kids, you.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Just got to stay away from all of this because
- 8:24Speaker 2: it is just an icky, icky thing to do.
- 8:26Speaker 1: So if your kid's not doing all these bad things,
- 8:29Speaker 1: you're doing a good job. And also just hide your
- 8:31Speaker 1: keys because I get a man in the morning. Seven Mandy,
- 8:37Speaker 1: did you know that swallowing, according to new study, makes
- 8:41Speaker 1: us feel good? Swallowing really just kind of like probably
- 8:46Speaker 1: a relief. Well, it's all about this. I've never really.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Thought about how often you're doing it, because you're always
- 8:52Speaker 2: so life is always.
- 8:52Speaker 1: In there, you know what I mean, You're always yeah.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I fun fact, I as a child really struggled with
- 8:58Speaker 1: some anxiety issues and for a while couldn't swallow, Like.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It would get closed up because you'd have like an
- 9:04Speaker 2: anxiety yeah, like you know where you just kind of
- 9:06Speaker 2: panicking and you can't swallow. So I would be in
- 9:09Speaker 2: school and I couldn't. Basically, if you don't swallow your
- 9:11Speaker 2: saliva it just pools up. And so I would have
- 9:14Speaker 2: to every few minutes go spit a load of spit
- 9:18Speaker 2: into the garbage can. I had a hyadl hernia, so
- 9:21Speaker 2: it was like a esophagus thing, so every one so
- 9:24Speaker 2: it would like close up, so I would have a
- 9:26Speaker 2: hard time, like stuff would get stuck or I wouldn't
- 9:29Speaker 2: be able to like something would just be like trapped
- 9:31Speaker 2: in there.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It'd be the worst pain. Ever, So things you take
- 9:34Speaker 1: for granted, you know, so then you always had an
- 9:37Speaker 1: issue swallowing or at some point did it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Kind of it just kind of depends worked itself out
- 9:41Speaker 2: and certain things tweak it and make it.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You know, Yeah, it just depends. I don't need to go.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm not sure what is there? Would you like me
- 9:52Speaker 1: to read my medical records to you dying the No,
- 9:56Speaker 1: it's in there well By for some reason, they're the
- 10:01Speaker 1: ones on the case here. They just discover that there's
- 10:04Speaker 1: a sensor in your throat of fly larvae that seems
- 10:08Speaker 1: to trigger serotonin, of course, known otherwise as the feel
- 10:12Speaker 1: good hormone, that is released when the brain swallows high
- 10:16Speaker 1: quality food. Gotcha, I don't care something about the act
- 10:20Speaker 1: of of course, it's a natural sensation to be hungry
- 10:24Speaker 1: and then satisfy the heart. But it's it's sort of
- 10:27Speaker 1: the act too that people enjoy. Never knew that what
- 10:30Speaker 1: a fun little fact you had for us. I wanted
- 10:32Speaker 1: to add something. Ye just stop, because I know where
- 10:35Speaker 1: you're at and we're not there. Don't even know what
- 10:39Speaker 1: you're talking about. This is where I'm gonna tell you
- 10:41Speaker 1: to put a plug in it. What you don't think
- 10:43Speaker 1: the survey on swallowing is I don't know interesting or
- 10:48Speaker 1: what you thought I was going somewhere else with it.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't know, no, I just think it's interesting. Good.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I'm glad we had this such a great, top absolutely
- 10:56Speaker 2: topical conversation about it.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Morning on Big ninety seven and now Amanda Stills the sea.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Let's see, Well last week I said we're gonna wake
- 11:08Speaker 2: up one day and we're gonna go Oh, did he
- 11:11Speaker 2: got arrested? And that is exactly what happened last night
- 11:13Speaker 2: watching Monday Night football and my phone is just blowing up.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Did He was arrested and taken into federal custody in
- 11:19Speaker 2: New York last night. Homeland Security went into the Midtown
- 11:22Speaker 2: hotel where did He was staying, they arrested him. We
- 11:24Speaker 2: have unconfirmed reports that they were going through his hotel
- 11:28Speaker 2: room trying to search for something. TMZ did report that
- 11:31Speaker 2: he was cooperative and it was actually planned that he
- 11:33Speaker 2: was set to get arrested today, so.
- 11:35Speaker 1: He knew it was coming.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Hours before his arrest, he was taking pics with fans
- 11:39Speaker 2: with his son. Last night, a US attorney issued a
- 11:41Speaker 2: statement confirming that federal agents had arrested did He based
- 11:44Speaker 2: on sealed federal indictment. Now, federal agents searched his home
- 11:48Speaker 2: in case you forgot about this back in March, this
- 11:51Speaker 2: was in Miami and in LA and there had been.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Just a wave of lawsuits filed against him.
- 11:56Speaker 2: The latest one was last week and the details were
- 11:59Speaker 2: so graphic and former member Danny Kane. Now, investigators also
- 12:05Speaker 2: have been interviewing a lot of people, So there's been
- 12:07Speaker 2: a lot of people on his team. I don't know
- 12:09Speaker 2: who's talking and what's going on, but it was everything
- 12:12Speaker 2: from sex trafficking to sexual assault. Of course, we've all
- 12:15Speaker 2: seen the Cassie video, and then when you hear these
- 12:17Speaker 2: other reports from women and people close into circle, it
- 12:20Speaker 2: just felt like that was his behavior all the time.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so there's got to be a ton of it.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And obviously when the first thing happened months ago now
- 12:28Speaker 1: and they didn't arrest him, then, right, they just searched
- 12:30Speaker 1: his house, they didn't raid it.
- 12:32Speaker 2: They arrested him to get him away, and then he
- 12:34Speaker 2: was able to Yeah, exactly.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So of course, since then, because in our heads it
- 12:38Speaker 1: just went away, what the heck? But no, I'm sure
- 12:40Speaker 1: they've been building a case. Oh now finally, so we'll
- 12:44Speaker 1: see if it sticks or what exactly they have.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I mean, when the FEDS in Homeland Security are involved.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I mean, I'm guessing that there's some pretty serious things
- 12:50Speaker 2: going on here, and that's not even a tip of
- 12:53Speaker 2: the iceberg. I mean, there's firearms, illegal narcotics. I mean,
- 12:56Speaker 2: there's just a lot of stuff that they were looking for.
- 12:58Speaker 2: No details about the end indictment were released last night.
- 13:01Speaker 2: They're hoping to unseal the indictment this morning. Did he
- 13:04Speaker 2: as attorney though, did you read this statement?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Kind of adhesive is on that thing? This to unseal it.
- 13:10Speaker 1: They've been working overnight to unseal this. It's real super clue.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Did He's attorney though, said, we are disappointed with the
- 13:17Speaker 2: decision to pursue what we believe is unjust prosecution by
- 13:21Speaker 2: or of mister Combs by the US Attorney's office. Did
- 13:23Speaker 2: He is a music icon, self made entrepreneur, loving family man,
- 13:28Speaker 2: and proven philanthropists who has spent the last thirty years
- 13:31Speaker 2: building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift
- 13:34Speaker 2: the black community. He is an imperfect person, but is
- 13:37Speaker 2: not a criminal. To his credit, mister Combs has been
- 13:40Speaker 2: nothing but cooperative with his investigation, and he voluntarily relocated
- 13:44Speaker 2: to New York last week. With anticipation of these charges. Now,
- 13:47Speaker 2: please reserve your judgment until you hear all the facts.
- 13:50Speaker 2: I am not going to rush to judgment. But when
- 13:53Speaker 2: I saw that video of you, what you did.
- 13:55Speaker 1: To Cassie Judge, I would consider that a criminal act,
- 13:59Speaker 1: what he'd do in the video. So to say he's
- 14:01Speaker 1: not a criminal, correct, And all those other things can
- 14:04Speaker 1: be partially true, but you can still be a horrible,
- 14:06Speaker 1: horrible criminal, and I think that's the case. I know.
- 14:11Speaker 2: And fans have been so eager to find out about
- 14:14Speaker 2: an in Synct reunion and Pike. I'm really just confused
- 14:17Speaker 2: because there was a lot of back and forth.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Was it Lance or Joey Fatone? One of them said,
- 14:22Speaker 1: it's happening. We're all in talks like we're ready to roll, right, Yeah,
- 14:26Speaker 1: it was. I think it was all of them pretty much.
- 14:29Speaker 1: The rumor mill was heating up big time.
- 14:31Speaker 2: So I guess it was like this nineties com last
- 14:33Speaker 2: week and Joey Fatone sat down for an interview and
- 14:35Speaker 2: he says, we haven't had the conversation yet regarding a reunion.
- 14:39Speaker 2: They are all kind of busy on their own projects.
- 14:41Speaker 2: He said in stinc would really just need to sit
- 14:44Speaker 2: down and figure it out, but we have to get
- 14:47Speaker 2: through Justin's tour, and then went on to say that
- 14:50Speaker 2: either it's been a good run for us or we.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Can see what we can do.
- 14:54Speaker 2: It sounds like it's just completely off the table and
- 14:56Speaker 2: you just got everybody's hopes up and why not act
- 15:00Speaker 2: like technically they did reunite for the one song for
- 15:03Speaker 2: Trolls too or whatever, Yeah, which is a good song,
- 15:05Speaker 2: but yeah, it feels like it's a hard no.
- 15:09Speaker 1: That's kind of how I'm feeling about it too. I
- 15:11Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe after the arrest, maybe it would be
- 15:13Speaker 1: good for world. John a nice wholesome in syncle tour,
- 15:17Speaker 1: win everybody back.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And Dave Girl and his wife Jordan Bloom's future together
- 15:22Speaker 2: remains unclear following the love child scandal, but we're getting
- 15:26Speaker 2: some more details. Of course, we were all shocked when
- 15:28Speaker 2: he made the revelation on Instagram, telling fans that he's
- 15:30Speaker 2: going to do everything he can to not only regain
- 15:32Speaker 2: the trust of his wife but their children. Well, now
- 15:35Speaker 2: info is being released that she of course is known
- 15:38Speaker 2: for a while about this love child, so she didn't
- 15:40Speaker 2: find out on the Instagram post, which is good, but
- 15:43Speaker 2: she was shocked to find out that there was a
- 15:46Speaker 2: baby involved. Her friends are like family. They've rallied around
- 15:49Speaker 2: her over the years. Quote Dave's flirty behavior has been
- 15:53Speaker 2: a hurdle in their marriage. But even though the world
- 15:56Speaker 2: was shocked, I guess those close to their circle are
- 16:00Speaker 2: not surprised by Hi.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, probably wouldn't shocked him that he was fooling around.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I think like the fact that a baby was conceived, right,
- 16:08Speaker 1: that would be shocking. It's so sad. Yeah, or day,
- 16:13Speaker 1: poor Dave, never mind, not for days, No, definitely. ND.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Now here's what you need to know.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Ohio's governor is sending the Safe Patrol to keep an
- 16:24Speaker 2: eye on schools after more than thirty bomb threats happened
- 16:27Speaker 2: since last week. The threats are linked to the unfound
- 16:29Speaker 2: abllegations from Trump and his running mate that Haitian immigrants
- 16:32Speaker 2: are eating people's cats and dogs into the city.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Now. Two colleges are doing virtual learning.
- 16:38Speaker 2: There were two elementary schools that had to be evacuated yesterday.
- 16:41Speaker 2: The threats so far have all been baseless.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And we're just talking yesterday about locally how frequent it's
- 16:46Speaker 1: bent so far this year. Of these threats and scares
- 16:49Speaker 1: that are happening, but I guess it's a happening everywhere.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Scary discussion around the Secret Service and its protection of
- 16:55Speaker 2: presidential candidates continues after the assassination attempt against Trump on Sunday.
- 16:59Speaker 2: That discussion didn't just begin, though, as the Biden administration
- 17:02Speaker 2: submitted a request to congressional committees last month to increase
- 17:05Speaker 2: spending on the Secret Service. And there's a poll out
- 17:10Speaker 2: there about Taylor Swift's endorsement to Kamala Harris and it
- 17:13Speaker 2: apparently is in Swain voters. Six percent of responding said yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 2: they're more likely to maybe vote for a Democratic presidential nominee.
- 17:19Speaker 2: After that, thirteen percent said don't care. Eighty one percent
- 17:23Speaker 2: said it has zero influence.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't let other people influence you like that.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I remember when I was in fourth grade. I think
- 17:29Speaker 1: that's when the George W. Bush al Gore election was happening, right, okay,
- 17:34Speaker 1: And which is crazy thing that they had us vote
- 17:37Speaker 1: like not just a not a private vote either, you
- 17:40Speaker 1: like literally raised your hand and we voted for the
- 17:43Speaker 1: candidate we wanted to win. And obviously he was going
- 17:46Speaker 1: to shock you didn't know much about the candidate. Actually, yes,
- 17:49Speaker 1: fourth grade, but I knew a girl I had a
- 17:51Speaker 1: crush on voted for al Gore, and so I raised
- 17:53Speaker 1: my hand and voted for al Gore. Then I come
- 17:55Speaker 1: home my parents just you know, what'd you do in
- 17:58Speaker 1: school today? I voted for al Gore. That's what I did.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And I'll never forget this. That's hilarious.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I remember doing a fake vote, but I remember it
- 18:10Speaker 2: was Ross Perot, and I remember me and this girl
- 18:12Speaker 2: were like, oh yeah, paroh, and because everybody was. Again,
- 18:15Speaker 2: we were in the second grade, so it must have
- 18:17Speaker 2: been two years before that. You're much older, and was
- 18:21Speaker 2: about his nose.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm like, what are we doing here? You're voting because
- 18:24Speaker 1: of his nose? Yes, I remember that's why you liked
- 18:27Speaker 1: his nose. I don't remember. I remember his ears. I
- 18:30Speaker 1: thought it was the nose. I'm gonna look it up
- 18:34Speaker 1: real quick. I want to say.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I called him Ross per nose clever, I know, just
- 18:39Speaker 2: a rascal in second.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Grade, Henry Ross Perot. Did you even go with us?
- 18:44Speaker 1: I have no idea. Will you do that?
- 18:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna let you know that today is going to
- 18:48Speaker 2: beautiful sunshine high of eighty eight.
- 18:50Speaker 1: We are gonna get a little bit of breeze.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Chance with thunderstorm through the overnight tomorrow, chances with some thunderstorms,
- 18:54Speaker 2: but it's still going to be in the about eighty
- 18:56Speaker 2: all week long.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm looking at him and I'm thinking, if I had
- 19:00Speaker 1: to pick one feature, it's probably his No, it's that
- 19:01Speaker 1: you were talking about. Why do I think he had
- 19:03Speaker 1: like big ears or something. I don't know. I got
- 19:06Speaker 1: an update on whether he's living or not. And oh,
- 19:10Speaker 1: tough news, died five years ago. Missed that one. You
- 19:15Speaker 1: know what we did? Just notice Jimmy Carter.
- 19:17Speaker 2: They're celebrating his one hundredth birthday, but they're doing it
- 19:20Speaker 2: like three weeks early because he doesn't turn one hundred
- 19:23Speaker 2: for October first.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yes, And so there's.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Like a bunch of people getting together to do the
- 19:27Speaker 2: celebration from like the B fifty twos, a bunch of celebrities.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I think Maren Morris is there. Does he like the
- 19:34Speaker 1: B fifty twos? You know what I heard? I think
- 19:36Speaker 1: Jimmy Carter loves a little love shack. Oh yeah, don't
- 19:40Speaker 1: get me started on rock lobster. Actually, we did a
- 19:44Speaker 1: wedding last week, and the one request from the bride
- 19:47Speaker 1: and groom was to not play the B fifty twos.
- 19:49Speaker 1: So it's funny to hear that Jimmy Carter still likes him,
- 19:52Speaker 1: loves them, oh little. I don't know. I don't know
- 19:55Speaker 1: if I like the premature birthday celebration.
- 19:58Speaker 2: We're kind of talking about that a little off air
- 19:59Speaker 2: when we I saw that this morning, because yeah, I mean,
- 20:02Speaker 2: he's been on hospice since last like a year.
- 20:05Speaker 1: From February, it'll be a haunt. It's shocking, right, every
- 20:08Speaker 1: couple months, I'll remember that he's still alive. It's it's amazing.
- 20:11Speaker 1: But and his wife had passed away not long ago,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and it was kind of one of.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Those stories you felt as though when she passed he
- 20:17Speaker 2: was going to or vice versa.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But anyway, well, that's enough for that. I get Amanda
- 20:21Speaker 1: in the morning. Come, I'll get up on Big seven. Now.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I think if you got kids, and you certainly probably
- 20:27Speaker 1: remember this from growing up, I think it's a discussion
- 20:30Speaker 1: hat in every household at some point along the way.
- 20:32Speaker 1: And Amanda, you are having it now for the first
- 20:34Speaker 1: time with your daughter.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yes, it's all about fundraising right now. We have our
- 20:39Speaker 2: daughter that is in kindergarten and they're doing a walkathon.
- 20:42Speaker 2: A lot of schools do this. It's one of their
- 20:44Speaker 2: biggest events of the year. And so last night the
- 20:47Speaker 2: paper came home, my husband and I are talking about it,
- 20:50Speaker 2: and I'm like, Okay, this is going to be so great.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Let's just shoot a text message because it's just you
- 20:54Speaker 2: can scan the code, put in the team and raise money.
- 20:57Speaker 2: So it's just dollars monetary donation towards the school, and
- 21:01Speaker 2: then they use it for a lot of different things.
- 21:03Speaker 2: So it's not like you're selling something.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Right, It's not like a well I remember boy Scouts
- 21:07Speaker 1: obviously Girl Scouts with the cookies popcorn for the boy Scouts.
- 21:10Speaker 1: But it's just that it's just a donation, you know.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It reminds me of like jump rope for hearts, correct,
- 21:15Speaker 1: exactly the same. Right, You're not getting anything, you just
- 21:18Speaker 1: raising money. So this is where things go crazy in
- 21:21Speaker 1: our family.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I found my husband and I were on the same
- 21:23Speaker 2: page with life and I had it all ready to
- 21:25Speaker 2: go to send to grandparents and that felt about right.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Just the grandparent. Yeah, well, I mean, does she have
- 21:31Speaker 1: a goal?
- 21:33Speaker 2: We didn't reach that far yet. We didn't even get
- 21:36Speaker 2: to the goal situation of the conversation.
- 21:38Speaker 1: It is tough because sometimes if you don't hit the goal,
- 21:40Speaker 1: then like the other kids get to have a pizza
- 21:41Speaker 1: party or something.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So there's a dippin' dots involved in this, and that's
- 21:45Speaker 2: all she heard. So she was super jacked about that,
- 21:47Speaker 2: which I love that there's an incentive. Now here's where
- 21:51Speaker 2: things go wild. My husband just abruptly looks at me
- 21:54Speaker 2: and he goes, no, absolutely not, and I go what
- 21:59Speaker 2: it was? We can FaceTime the grandparents that are way
- 22:03Speaker 2: to ask. I'm like, yeah, absolutely, I get that, but
- 22:05Speaker 2: they're still going to need to get the link. And
- 22:07Speaker 2: he goes, and she needs she needs to go door
- 22:10Speaker 2: to door. You have an event tomorrow night, and I
- 22:12Speaker 2: will I'll take her. I'll take her around the neighborhood
- 22:14Speaker 2: and she's going to go door to door and ask
- 22:17Speaker 2: for the fundraising. And so he's like, I'm Sydney, and
- 22:21Speaker 2: I go here and this is what I'm doing this for.
- 22:24Speaker 2: So he's getting her all hyped up, which yes, I
- 22:27Speaker 2: love if you're selling something that makes sense to me.
- 22:31Speaker 2: But the fact you're asking the neighbors and fifty percent
- 22:35Speaker 2: of them already probably have a kid going to the
- 22:38Speaker 2: same school they're doing the same deal. Yeah, doesn't that
- 22:42Speaker 2: feel a little aggressive.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna go no, no. And I get what you're
- 22:46Speaker 1: saying with not selling something, because when if you if
- 22:48Speaker 1: I'm selling something, even at a five year old age,
- 22:52Speaker 1: the person can say no. But when you're going around
- 22:54Speaker 1: asking for money, it's a real tough spot. But you
- 22:56Speaker 1: can give five bucks, you know. I know. Just it
- 23:00Speaker 1: feels tacky to me. I'm just like, eh, you know,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I don't think it's tacky. I love the lesson and
- 23:06Speaker 1: I'm totally on board with nick. And I remember as
- 23:09Speaker 1: a kid selling popcorn for boy Scouts and my dad
- 23:11Speaker 1: was the same way, like, no, I'm not like you know,
- 23:14Speaker 1: the parents that would just take it to work, put
- 23:16Speaker 1: the thing on the breakroom desk and the oh the
- 23:18Speaker 1: kid would rack sales up, but he didn't do a
- 23:20Speaker 1: single thing. Yeah no, I was literally going to door
- 23:22Speaker 1: to door through Glennon. I hit every house. I think
- 23:24Speaker 1: I was obsessed.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I loved it, and I get times have changed and
- 23:28Speaker 2: people are busy and it's just easy whatever. A lot
- 23:31Speaker 2: of people throw it up on Facebook, Hey, here you go.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I get it, But I do find the importance of
- 23:37Speaker 2: the lesson. This is just one of those that I'm
- 23:40Speaker 2: just not on board with with the uh not getting
- 23:42Speaker 2: something like it just feels very weird.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's a small donation for a kid. I know, maybe
- 23:48Speaker 1: you know, if people can round up for some charity
- 23:51Speaker 1: they don't even you know, you haven't done any research,
- 23:54Speaker 1: they can give a little girl a dollar who came
- 23:57Speaker 1: to their door. I know, it's just and what matters
- 24:01Speaker 1: more their opinion of the tackiness of it or the
- 24:05Speaker 1: lesson that your daughter is going to learn.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I just also, you know, this isn't the only fundraiser, Like,
- 24:10Speaker 2: don't you want to save it for maybe the next one?
- 24:13Speaker 1: I think you can make the round again, and that
- 24:15Speaker 1: way she can keep track of you know who her
- 24:17Speaker 1: hot leads were Finder. These are the doors that you
- 24:22Speaker 1: know actually open the door. These are the ones that
- 24:24Speaker 1: were interested vulnerable ones to keep in the same house.
