- 0:22Speaker 2: Here we have a list that our producer Leo Clem compiled. Yes,
- 0:27Speaker 2: what would you cut from modern society?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Such a good question, Leo Clem, Such insightful questions here, Yes,
- 0:37Speaker 3: for our audience who are listening to us right now,
- 0:40Speaker 3: what would you cut from modern society?
- 0:42Speaker 1: Huh? So ask yourself that question. We're going to go
- 0:45Speaker 1: through a list here. What would you what would what?
- 0:48Speaker 2: What comes immediately to mind without even looking at this list?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Right?
- 0:53Speaker 3: And you go, well, I mean I guess we should
- 0:55Speaker 3: nominate some things, right that maybe life will be better
- 1:00Speaker 3: without or.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You know, we defend them. Yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Yeah, should we go to this check story, corpedo or pylon?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Like, let's so, let's figure out do you you want
- 1:10Speaker 3: to go? Okay, do you want to do the first one?
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah? Self, checkout?
- 1:14Speaker 2: I don't know, man, it's kind of you know, when
- 1:16Speaker 2: you only have like two items or three items.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I just want to come in now. I don't want
- 1:20Speaker 1: to I don't want to deal with it. Yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I mean I'm kind of okay with them, especially at
- 1:25Speaker 3: the airport. I like the airport. Uh, it's kind of cool.
- 1:30Speaker 3: But I haven't seen them, but I see what you mean,
- 1:32Speaker 3: Like it could be the only thing I get confused
- 1:35Speaker 3: is like when they're like, you need a bag, two bags,
- 1:37Speaker 3: three bags, I'm like, what are you charging me for
- 1:40Speaker 3: the bags?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:41Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Anyways, let's see standing up the instant the plane lands.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Oh my god, Okay, I do not like this. Daddy
- 1:53Speaker 3: don't like these one. You know, Daddy don't like these one.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Maybe maybe it's somebody who needs to stretch after they've
- 2:01Speaker 2: been sitting down for five hours.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Bro, It's like, no, no, you're sitting there and it's
- 2:10Speaker 3: gonna be a minimum of like eight to ten minutes
- 2:17Speaker 3: before they lock the bridge and open the door.
- 2:22Speaker 2: What is it you don't like when somebody hovers over
- 2:24Speaker 2: you is.
- 2:27Speaker 1: What's a hurry?
- 2:28Speaker 3: Look, if you have a connecting flight, I make space
- 2:31Speaker 3: and grace for you. Yeah yeah, But if you're not
- 2:34Speaker 3: connecting flight, you just got hold what's the hurry? And
- 2:38Speaker 3: the thing is that the people like two or three
- 2:40Speaker 3: sixs behind you the brother bags and then they'll just
- 2:43Speaker 3: like rush up to just be at the front, and
- 2:45Speaker 3: now you're like, I gotta go through you to get
- 2:47Speaker 3: my back at the headspace. Yeah, yeah, why are.
- 2:50Speaker 1: You doing this to me? Why are you doing this
- 2:52Speaker 1: to my family?
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's like the kid who, like the kid who was
- 2:57Speaker 2: in school, always wanted to be at the front of
- 2:59Speaker 2: the line.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but like but like not because like he wanted
- 3:03Speaker 3: to answer the first question.
- 3:04Speaker 1: He just wants to go home. He wants to go home. Okay,
- 3:08Speaker 1: what about you?
- 3:09Speaker 2: You know what's kind of pet a pet peeve is
- 3:12Speaker 2: And this has happened to me a couple of times. Yeah, man,
- 3:15Speaker 2: I even hate to put it this way because I
- 3:17Speaker 2: don't want to sound you know, like if you're sitting
- 3:19Speaker 2: at the front of the plane, right, and someone who
- 3:23Speaker 2: is sitting in the back of the plane, they sometimes
- 3:26Speaker 2: people will like pass through the front of the plane
- 3:29Speaker 2: and then they'll put their bag up in the storage
- 3:32Speaker 2: compartment and then they'll keep walking to their seat all
- 3:34Speaker 2: the way to the back.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Of the plane.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and then and then when I come to take
- 3:37Speaker 2: my seat, there's no space above because somebody in the back.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But I'm like, hey, man, I paid for this seat, right,
- 3:45Speaker 2: which means that I paid for the storage above and
- 3:48Speaker 2: now you took it because you know.
- 3:51Speaker 1: That's why it's so important too.
- 3:53Speaker 3: When they're saying they're they're gonna board soon, yeah, just
- 3:57Speaker 3: go lined up, you get to your seat before everybody.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, but I agree, it's like sometimes you can't.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You don't even have a choice.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But what about those people, right, they're like line up
- 4:07Speaker 1: and everyone lines up.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Super early, and then and then and then they like
- 4:11Speaker 2: separated in the groups, like who goes in first, and
- 4:13Speaker 2: the people who are not in that first group are
- 4:15Speaker 2: like standing in the line and you're like, are you
- 4:17Speaker 2: in line?
- 4:18Speaker 1: Are you?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Here's the crazy that's also kind of crazy. People get
- 4:22Speaker 3: a little like they get like all frustrated, excuse.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Me, excuse me? I was first, it's three.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I'm like, why are you here? Right? Yeah, That's the
- 4:38Speaker 3: thing that's really funny. It's like they get all like
- 4:40Speaker 3: slowly subliminally.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They're like blocking.
- 4:42Speaker 3: You start blocking you like like you walk up and
- 4:45Speaker 3: you're just trying to read the screen, and they get
- 4:52Speaker 3: just trying to see this screen, how many minutes I
- 4:55Speaker 3: have left?
- 4:55Speaker 1: Like?
- 4:55Speaker 3: Am I the right yeat? You literally walk up to
- 4:58Speaker 3: see this in the immediately see you walk up, they
- 5:00Speaker 3: like start getting really close to them.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Because they think you're gonna cut them. Yes, because they
- 5:05Speaker 1: think like I didn't see them there or something. Right.
- 5:08Speaker 3: But the craziest part is like we're all going in
- 5:12Speaker 3: the same thing. Like people be cutting though, man, Yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 3: people be going, people be cutting. People will be cutting, man,
- 5:17Speaker 3: people be cuind too.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's very true. Wait, wow is this true?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Turkey introduced new aviation rules in May twenty twenty five
- 5:26Speaker 2: that find passengers who unbuckle, stand, or grab overhead bins
- 5:30Speaker 2: before the plane fully stops, reportedly a seventy dollars.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Fine, I agree with that.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Sit down? How do you enforce that sit down?
- 5:38Speaker 3: There's the there's the sit down, there's the flight attendant down.
- 5:43Speaker 3: We're in the tarmac sit down hole. So does that
- 5:50Speaker 3: whole sit down?
- 5:54Speaker 1: See? Sit down?
- 5:57Speaker 3: Okay, okay, sin Why by the way, why are you
- 6:01Speaker 3: going to the bathroom when we just were still in
- 6:03Speaker 3: the tarmact haven't even pull the plane. Why are you like, yeah,
- 6:08Speaker 3: sit down, sit down?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Sit down? Yeah?
- 6:15Speaker 2: You ever had a you ever had a crazy flight
- 6:18Speaker 2: attendant story?
- 6:20Speaker 3: I have some flight attendant stories. Carry on, all right, We're.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Going to tell a few and rapid succession.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I was at a plane ones with me and uh,
- 6:30Speaker 2: you know his actor bolkeem Woodbine, fine actor, and we
- 6:36Speaker 2: were we were in first class and this flight attendant
- 6:39Speaker 2: passed by us with this really puzzled look on her
- 6:42Speaker 2: face and she did kind of a double take and
- 6:46Speaker 2: she came back and she was like, are you guys rappers?
- 6:53Speaker 3: I was like, you should end the story there.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You guys were wrapped. So anyway, we'll stop there. Go ahead.
- 7:03Speaker 1: What's yours? What's yours?
- 7:06Speaker 3: What's yours?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Mine is doing? Uh?
- 7:10Speaker 3: I mean I have a very similar story. Yeah, flight
- 7:14Speaker 3: attendant keep walking up and walking down, and then all
- 7:16Speaker 3: of a sudden, he was not just a flat attendant.
- 7:19Speaker 3: It was a flat attend in the back. Now it's
- 7:21Speaker 3: coming all the way to the front, like you. Now
- 7:22Speaker 3: they're like every flight attendant is taking a lap. And
- 7:26Speaker 3: I'm thinking like, okay, well they're going to ask for
- 7:28Speaker 3: a picture whatever and all that stuff, and I'm like ready,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I'm excited, like yeah, whatever you want.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Right. She rolls up and she's like I just.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Want to say I hope, like I don't want to
- 7:39Speaker 3: bother you because you're here and it's your personal time.
- 7:42Speaker 3: But I love your music, so you love my Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 3: so you love my music. And I'm thinking like, yeah,
- 7:55Speaker 3: I made some funny music before and maybe they're thinking
- 7:59Speaker 3: about that. And she's like yeah and like just really
- 8:04Speaker 3: excited for your tour. And I was like, okay, thank you.
- 8:10Speaker 3: And then the other flight attendant sees the other flight
- 8:13Speaker 3: attendant talking to me, so they go, oh, he's talking
- 8:15Speaker 3: flat ten and I'm gonna come up to So now
- 8:17Speaker 3: all the flight attendants come up. Yeah, and the horrow
- 8:20Speaker 3: around my seat because then I feel like, oh, he's
- 8:23Speaker 3: open to talking or whatever. So he comes in because,
- 8:25Speaker 3: by the way, for some reason, some other actors are
- 8:27Speaker 3: like assholes when they're out in public and ship. But
- 8:29Speaker 3: I love people, so I'm like, yeah, come on, let's talk.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Yeah. So they all have her around and they're.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Like, yeah, we're very excited and you know we're there,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and I said, yeah, you know, when she told me
- 8:36Speaker 3: that Enrique Glacis was here, I was freaking out. Enrique Glaciers,
- 8:42Speaker 3: bro I look nothing, bro, come on, no, no, you
- 8:46Speaker 3: know what at the time, I used to.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Wear my beanie.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, Like we're like the hairlip, Yeah, what
- 8:54Speaker 3: did you call this? It's a hairline, but I call
- 8:57Speaker 3: it a hairlip. So I would put my my beanie
- 9:00Speaker 3: all the way back like this, and I had the
- 9:02Speaker 3: hair shoine and neither people thought I was calling Pharaoh
- 9:05Speaker 3: or I was.
- 9:07Speaker 1: And G says, that's Martin a lot.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Did you did you play it all the way? We
- 9:13Speaker 3: all look alike, right?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Did you know? I seen more Rique than them than Riggy?
- 9:18Speaker 1: But did you Yeah? Did you?
- 9:20Speaker 3: Did you play in the Banks Banks?
- 9:26Speaker 1: He's Julio's son. Uh? Did you play it all the
- 9:30Speaker 1: way through? Yes? Where you were you? Yes? Yes?
- 9:34Speaker 3: Did I sing on a song?
- 9:35Speaker 1: No?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Did I want to?
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yes?
- 9:39Speaker 2: K Kurt Russell told me a story that that he
- 9:41Speaker 2: went to Pink Hot Dogs and and I guess the
- 9:45Speaker 2: owner whoever worked there, was like, oh.
- 9:47Speaker 1: My god, you're here. Can we just get like your autograph?
- 9:52Speaker 1: We got a photo of you and everything. And then
- 9:54Speaker 1: they gave him a photo and it was a photo
- 9:56Speaker 1: of Patrick Swayze.
- 9:59Speaker 2: And he signed it as Patrick swayzey, And he said
- 10:02Speaker 2: he puts some real cheesy stuff on there, like from
- 10:05Speaker 2: the Pea Dog.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Or something like that. He do something like that.
- 10:08Speaker 3: He's such a good Oh yeah, yeah, I've never met him,
- 10:10Speaker 3: but I love I'm such a I'm such a fan.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see here. Okay, excessively large group group chats.
- 10:20Speaker 3: That's a tough one for people.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Damn for people in a group chat. Yeah, that's a lot.
- 10:26Speaker 3: That's a tough one, man, because you know what, as
- 10:31Speaker 3: soon as the third or fourth person replies, yeah, I'm done, Yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'm done.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I I literally cannot follow.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I can't go back, and if I have to scroll
- 10:43Speaker 3: all the way up to start the chat, I'm done.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah I can't.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what's tough for me Sometimes in the
- 10:51Speaker 2: group chats when people just like sense sense stuff, you know,
- 10:57Speaker 2: like like YouTube video memes. No no me memes are
- 11:02Speaker 2: cool because they're like fifteen seconds, right, you just watch them.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You know what people send like long YouTube videos.
- 11:09Speaker 3: The link that texts you out of the text chams.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and they send multiple.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Of those, and I'm like, oh my god, I got
- 11:17Speaker 2: to sit here watch like forty five minutes worth of.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Like here's a question. Yeah, like text etiquette, Okay, yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 3: did you like one long text or like five and
- 11:32Speaker 3: six different ones?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Some people are like.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Clean clean clean clean clean clean clean clean clean clean.
- 11:38Speaker 3: You're like, you could have put all that in one
- 11:41Speaker 3: paragraph and I just read it, you know, like one long,
- 11:44Speaker 3: one big blue bubble as opposed to like six little bubbles.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Like does that bother you at all? Because I've done both.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Yes, that's why I asked, I don't do that to you.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Man, you've mastered out the kid it. No.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I think sometimes when when when like my brain is
- 12:04Speaker 2: just like, you know, I'll send one and then I'm like,
- 12:06Speaker 2: go ahead, and then here's the next thing, and here's
- 12:08Speaker 2: the next thing. But I normally don't. I normally don't
- 12:11Speaker 2: send them. Do you send multiple text or you just more?
- 12:15Speaker 1: I sometimes do, Man, I'm not dude.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I'm dude because because I'll just send a ha ha
- 12:21Speaker 3: ha and then be like that was funny. That's another one.
- 12:23Speaker 3: And like honestly to be to be honest blah blah
- 12:26Speaker 3: blah blah blah blah. That's another one. And like anyways,
- 12:29Speaker 3: talk to you later. Boom, that's another one. Yeah, And
- 12:31Speaker 3: so I can only imagine that when they're like in
- 12:33Speaker 3: their phone just goes.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Clean clean, clean, clean, clean clean clean. I don't mind it. Okay,
- 12:39Speaker 1: that's good to know. Yeah, I don't mind it. That's
- 12:41Speaker 1: good to all right, what's.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Voice notes this is a very controversial topic.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 3: In my office, Leo brought this thing up. Yeah, and
- 12:55Speaker 3: you know, we have our head of the WV Social House,
- 12:58Speaker 3: which is our our social media marketing company, and you know,
- 13:02Speaker 3: and and Vincent was like, I'm trying to do his acting.
- 13:06Speaker 3: He's got a fresh ante.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Oh he hates it. Huh y, He's like, I don't
- 13:12Speaker 1: like Uh, that's not it's just like the like it's
- 13:19Speaker 1: like these uh these voice memos that they sent to me.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Is that a gen Z thing?
- 13:27Speaker 3: The accent You guys don't have the accents of gen Z.
- 13:30Speaker 1: You guys don't like voice. Is that a gen Z thing?
- 13:32Speaker 1: What is that?
- 13:35Speaker 3: Why are you asking about?
- 13:40Speaker 1: He's not you? You're a millennial? Man? Is a gen
- 13:44Speaker 1: X millennial? Yeah, I'm a boer.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I like them, man, I like them because because I've
- 13:55Speaker 2: gotten in trouble. In trouble, but I've gotten flag on
- 13:59Speaker 2: this in the past. Or sometimes I'll send an email
- 14:02Speaker 2: or or a text and and something gets lost in
- 14:06Speaker 2: translation and people take it the wrong way.
- 14:09Speaker 1: That you know, my love voicemails to for that reason.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, where I've literally had people call me and go, hey, man,
- 14:14Speaker 2: did I read your text the right way.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Did you mean this?
- 14:17Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, I didn't mean that, and they're like,
- 14:19Speaker 2: well read that way, and I'm like, oh my god,
- 14:21Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Like and by the person who was receiving the text,
- 14:26Speaker 3: it was so hard into like the oh you didn't
- 14:28Speaker 3: put a coma there, or you'll put a period after okay,
- 14:31Speaker 3: like what what's wrong?
- 14:33Speaker 2: No, No, it's it's it's more about like like the emo,
- 14:36Speaker 2: like what I meant, you know, the emotion behind it,
- 14:39Speaker 2: you know, like they I don't know. So I've I'm like, okay,
- 14:42Speaker 2: that's cool. You know, I'll send you like a little
- 14:44Speaker 2: voice message. So then that way you could hear the
- 14:49Speaker 2: tone in my voice. You know, you can hear the
- 14:51Speaker 2: emotion in my voice and know where I'm coming from,
- 14:54Speaker 2: so that you don't get offended.
- 14:56Speaker 1: You know. Well, I love voicemamo.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I have a thread right now, a couple of partners
- 15:02Speaker 3: with mine, and we just send voice memos all day long.
- 15:05Speaker 3: And I think also for me, it's like if I'm driving, yes,
- 15:08Speaker 3: if I'm walking and I'm always in the move, a
- 15:12Speaker 3: voice memo was the easiest thing to say. Also, like
- 15:15Speaker 3: I can't just read texts all the time. Yeah, if
- 15:18Speaker 3: I'm in the car, I get dizzy. If I'm driving
- 15:20Speaker 3: in the car, I definitely can't write, so I won't
- 15:22Speaker 3: do that. But the voice memos I can. I can
- 15:24Speaker 3: reply to somebody in the car.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 2: And it's easier than picking because if you pick up
- 15:31Speaker 2: the phone, that's.
- 15:32Speaker 1: An hour, man, that's an hour, right or half an hour.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Don't let us get on the phone.
- 15:38Speaker 1: That's true. That's that's how this podcast. I don't want
- 15:40Speaker 1: us to win, man, So this podcast started. But it's
- 15:44Speaker 1: an hour, man, it's it's half an hour.
- 15:46Speaker 3: So what about you guys at home, man, comment on
- 15:48Speaker 3: this bar. I want to hear what you guys.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, and it's okay. That was
- 15:54Speaker 1: a few more.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Screens that flip around to ask for twenty percent on
- 15:58Speaker 2: a four dollars coffee.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Oh, this is a good one. And then what and
- 16:03Speaker 1: then they stare at you.
- 16:04Speaker 3: It's a good one, bro, because now most coffee shops,
- 16:08Speaker 3: like you get you asked for two coffees and maybe
- 16:11Speaker 3: a croison or a cupcake or whatever. Yeah, and it's
- 16:15Speaker 3: like like forty five bucks, and then twenty percent of
- 16:22Speaker 3: forty five bucks is what ten bucks technically?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, So You're like, you just pour my coffee and
- 16:31Speaker 3: you're handing me over a cupcake. Yeah, and I'm like,
- 16:35Speaker 3: or they're not even making your coffee, right, you get
- 16:39Speaker 3: two coconut waters and a paste or whatever, and you
- 16:41Speaker 3: send it to you and they're asking you give ten
- 16:43Speaker 3: dollars right automatically. It's like it's like nineteen twenty and
- 16:48Speaker 3: twenty two. Some people have twenty twenty two and twenty
- 16:52Speaker 3: four percent. So like if you just get breakfast for
- 16:58Speaker 3: everybody and you're picking up at the counter right, like,
- 17:01Speaker 3: no one's taking it to your table, they're asking you
- 17:04Speaker 3: to do twenty two percent or twenty percent tip on
- 17:07Speaker 3: like one hundred and fifty bucks, that's like thirty that's
- 17:12Speaker 3: forty bucks.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Bro. Yeah yeah I was.
- 17:14Speaker 3: And like, look, I'm gonna just start by saying I
- 17:17Speaker 3: worked in the in the service industry.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I was a busboy once. Right. I've had restaurants in
- 17:22Speaker 1: my life.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I had tons of restaurants that i've you know, in
- 17:25Speaker 3: my in my twenties and my thirties. I currently have
- 17:28Speaker 3: a restaurant in Washington, DC, Coelagansia at La Cosecha, which
- 17:32Speaker 3: is a Mark Union Market spinoff.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Really beautiful so.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Tips are incredibly critical for the sustainability of our service,
- 17:44Speaker 3: you know, and specifically those individuals who.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Put all that work.
- 17:48Speaker 3: So don't get me wrong, I'm not saying like they
- 17:50Speaker 3: don't deserve to be tipped, right, I'm just saying, like
- 17:52Speaker 3: these screens are aggressive, right, Like, it's not like you know,
- 17:59Speaker 3: it's it's it's a lot, and nowadays to you have
- 18:03Speaker 3: to tip forty five dollars, fifty dollars, sixty dollars.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Sometimes, I mean that's a lot.
- 18:09Speaker 3: That's a lot for because food is getting more expensive, right, Like,
- 18:12Speaker 3: the service is not going impressive, So it's tough, like
- 18:15Speaker 3: it's a it's a very it's a tough thing to.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Do, you know.
- 18:19Speaker 3: But I how do you feel about the screens?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I think it's a case by case basis. Right.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It's like what you said.
- 18:29Speaker 2: If I'm just going to the to the airport little
- 18:32Speaker 2: convenience store and I'm buying a coconut water, like I
- 18:35Speaker 2: should give you twenty percent on top of that, Like,
- 18:37Speaker 2: you know, but if I'm sitting down and I'm having
- 18:39Speaker 2: a dinner and you're and you're serving me and my
- 18:41Speaker 2: wife and and my family, that's a that's a different.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Creative experience and all that stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's different.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So the airport is so crazy too.
- 18:49Speaker 3: The airport is like you're going to end up like
- 18:51Speaker 3: like sixty five bucks eighty bucks just to get your
- 18:54Speaker 3: snacks on the plane and get the stuff or whatever.
- 18:57Speaker 3: And then they're suggesting twenty percent of you just running apart.
- 19:01Speaker 3: You just pick things up from the from the from
- 19:04Speaker 3: the shelves and from the cooler or whatever right up
- 19:07Speaker 3: to the thing. Sometimes you scan it yourself and they're
- 19:10Speaker 3: asking you for today, and it's like, it's cool. It's
- 19:13Speaker 3: really kind of intense.
- 19:14Speaker 2: You ever you ever had that, like, you know, young
- 19:17Speaker 2: person behind the counter when they flip the screen and
- 19:19Speaker 2: they're looking at you.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I mean I had I've had some respectful people that
- 19:25Speaker 3: that flip it and they look away.
- 19:27Speaker 1: You know, you.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Know you're gonna leave the tip buddy.
- 19:38Speaker 3: You know, it's it's tough, tough. I mean, it's really tough.
- 19:42Speaker 3: But I also I will also say though, one of
- 19:47Speaker 3: my frustrations with it is because I know for a
- 19:51Speaker 3: fact that the restaurant keeps them keeps the tips. They
- 19:56Speaker 3: do a pool system where a percentage of the pool
- 19:59Speaker 3: goes to the service to all our service people. That's
- 20:01Speaker 3: the whole, and then they keep a percentage of that
- 20:04Speaker 3: for So that's the other thing that frustrates me. It's
- 20:07Speaker 3: like they're getting you for all this, for this money,
- 20:10Speaker 3: and the server or the person that created that experience
- 20:12Speaker 3: for you doesn't get the money.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Wasn't get the money.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Because that's the whole purpose of tipping, right is because
- 20:18Speaker 2: they don't make a living wage, and so you're trying
- 20:21Speaker 2: to bridge the gap.
- 20:22Speaker 1: That's what I mean.
- 20:23Speaker 3: So that's like there's restaurants and there's establishments where that
- 20:26Speaker 3: tip doesn't go to your person.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I don't know that.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Also a valet people, if you tip with your card, yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 3: a percentage of that goes to them, not the tip.
- 20:37Speaker 3: That's what you if you have a chance to tip
- 20:39Speaker 3: your valet guys, you know your valet girls, like just
- 20:42Speaker 3: give them cash because because once you put in a
- 20:45Speaker 3: credit card, they don't won't see it that day, they'll
- 20:48Speaker 3: just see a little bit of a percentage that goes
- 20:50Speaker 3: against you know what their ecrupment is.
- 20:53Speaker 1: For the for the companies. Do you ever feel when
- 20:55Speaker 1: you're at a restaurant?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Do you ever because right eventually people know who you
- 21:00Speaker 2: are right when we sit down.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Do you ever feel like you got to leave.
- 21:05Speaker 2: More than the average person because the person serving you
- 21:10Speaker 2: knows who you are, and you know that when you
- 21:12Speaker 2: get up, they're gonna say. You know, the first thing
- 21:16Speaker 2: is like what how much tip?
- 21:17Speaker 1: Did he leave you?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Right?
- 21:19Speaker 3: And so you know that's gonna know it's crazy. Is
- 21:21Speaker 3: that your credit card? Also when they run your credit
- 21:24Speaker 3: card on the receipt, it says your.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Name on it, the company name. Yeah, do you ever
- 21:29Speaker 2: you ever feel that pressure to go?
- 21:31Speaker 1: All right? I can tell they they for.
- 21:34Speaker 3: The most part, Yeah, I'll tell you this, for the
- 21:37Speaker 3: most part, I'm pretty I'll be honest, I'm pretty generous.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I'd like to be generous because I used to be
- 21:45Speaker 3: a bus boy once, so that that comes from there.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I'll just like over tip. But then when they go
- 21:50Speaker 3: above and beyond and they're so nice to me and
- 21:52Speaker 3: they recognize me for my work and they say sweet
- 21:56Speaker 3: things to me, and they just they go above and
- 21:58Speaker 3: beyond and they bring you like an extra little thing
- 22:00Speaker 3: for your kid or they bring you know, like they
- 22:02Speaker 3: make the experience so nice because they just like they're
- 22:04Speaker 3: giving you an exchange of gratitude. I mean that's when
- 22:08Speaker 3: I would like, I'll tip like one hundred and fifty percent,
- 22:12Speaker 3: I'll do two hundred percent. That's awesome because they just
- 22:15Speaker 3: I know what it feels like, and I try to leave.
- 22:18Speaker 3: I never want to see them see it. I try
- 22:20Speaker 3: to pay, do the thing, drop, drop the gift, and
- 22:23Speaker 3: then just bounce because I don't want to be there
- 22:27Speaker 3: for it. But I've seen on Instagram some people have posted, like,
- 22:30Speaker 3: my god, Wilma sent me this da da da da,
- 22:32Speaker 3: and it's oh, really, it's beautiful to see that they
- 22:34Speaker 3: appreciate it.
- 22:35Speaker 1: You know. I thought you were going to say the opposite,
- 22:37Speaker 1: you know.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Like, oh my god, only one hundred and fifty percent
- 22:41Speaker 3: cheap bastard.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 2: No, I had an incident what time, you know, when
- 22:46Speaker 2: I was like in my twenties, you know, when I
- 22:48Speaker 2: first like started making like a little money, you know,
- 22:51Speaker 2: And there was somebody I went to high school with
- 22:54Speaker 2: who was the server. And I went there with a
- 22:57Speaker 2: bunch of my high school buddies, you know, and I
- 23:00Speaker 2: have them twenty percent, you know what it said on
- 23:02Speaker 2: the check, you know, and then she she she told
- 23:05Speaker 2: my buddies afterwards that I was cheap, that I didn't
- 23:07Speaker 2: that I didn't tipper enough.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I was like, that's not enough. Like, how much twenty
- 23:12Speaker 1: percent is the top? Isn't it? How much of money?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I suggested, it's fifteen twenty percent is the top?
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah, obviously they moved the goal post, right, but twenty
- 23:20Speaker 3: percent used to be very good?
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah, But but I only bring that up to say
- 23:24Speaker 2: that that it was at that moment I realized like,
- 23:28Speaker 2: oh oh, people are really paying attention to what you
- 23:31Speaker 2: leave and and have opinions about it afterwards, you know.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Uh, And and not to.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Say that I don't want to do it out of
- 23:40Speaker 2: out of my heart, you know, because that's where it
- 23:42Speaker 2: comes from, right. But like, but then there's that extra
- 23:44Speaker 2: factor of it that that people are going to scrutinize
- 23:47Speaker 2: on what.
- 23:47Speaker 3: You leave and are going.
- 23:49Speaker 1: To talk about it afterwards. We're never going to win,
- 23:51Speaker 1: just understand. Yeah, QR code menus, I hate you? You do?
- 23:56Speaker 1: Why because what happens right?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Well, first of like you know, like we're grown men, right,
- 24:03Speaker 2: Like I want to have a freaking man. I want
- 24:05Speaker 2: to go to a restaurant and have the experience and
- 24:07Speaker 2: have you know, I'm like a teenager.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Okay, I'll scan something, but I'm like.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Oh, you know where that comes from. That's all really
- 24:14Speaker 3: multiplied after COVID.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yeah, people are like contact less, you know, they want
- 24:18Speaker 3: to pass the menus back and forth. They want to
- 24:21Speaker 3: disinfecting the menus for every customer. So that q QR
- 24:25Speaker 3: code is like you want to look at the menu,
- 24:28Speaker 3: look at it from your sancification phone. Yeah, man, and
- 24:32Speaker 3: you do you know that sancify my menu.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Once you once you scan the QR code, if for
- 24:37Speaker 2: some reason you got to get out of that menu,
- 24:40Speaker 2: it won't bring you back to the to the menu.
- 24:43Speaker 2: You got to like re scan it again afterwards, and
- 24:46Speaker 2: then you.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Got to scroll through that.
- 24:47Speaker 2: You got to like find the thing that you were
- 24:49Speaker 2: looking at, you know. So it's not it's not consistent.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I'm not a fan.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Well I don't. I don't mind it. But at the
- 24:58Speaker 3: same time, you know, I screamed for food.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 3: So you've been to concerts, yeah, right, and nowadays when
- 25:07Speaker 3: you go to a concert you have to kind of
- 25:09Speaker 3: move your head back and forth because there's a phone
- 25:11Speaker 3: somebody filming in front of you, filming the concert. How
- 25:14Speaker 3: do you feel about.
- 25:15Speaker 2: That, HM, As somebody who's been a concert goer for
- 25:21Speaker 2: a long time.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like they're.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Missing out on a on a on just sort of
- 25:27Speaker 2: a journey, the visceral experience. Right. I haven't had too
- 25:31Speaker 2: many situations or somewhere where somebody's blocked my view with
- 25:34Speaker 2: the phone, so I really don't have an opinion on that.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But and then the flip.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Side to that is like, for example, like jay Z
- 25:41Speaker 2: just performed at the Roots Picnic, right, and I was
- 25:44Speaker 2: able to see it because somebody had taped it and
- 25:46Speaker 2: they and they and they.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Put it on YouTube, you know. So that's that's the
- 25:51Speaker 1: that's the rough bro. And yeah, yeah, how do you
- 25:54Speaker 1: how do you feel about that?
- 25:57Speaker 3: I'm conflicted because I went to Bruno Mars residency, yeah,
- 26:04Speaker 3: god man, and they made everyone put their phones inside
- 26:08Speaker 3: a little lock box.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I've heard about that, and.
- 26:13Speaker 3: For the very moment everyone listened, sang dance together at
- 26:20Speaker 3: the same time, and I hadn't seen that in a
- 26:23Speaker 3: long time. I understand the value of like taking a
- 26:27Speaker 3: piece of that concert home on your phone. I totally
- 26:30Speaker 3: understand that too, So I'm kind of indifferent about it. Yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 3: But if I was the artist, I guess if I
- 26:36Speaker 3: think about the artists not as the concert going, because
- 26:39Speaker 3: if I got to go and see everybody's only whatever,
- 26:41Speaker 3: at least I can control the fact that I'm going
- 26:43Speaker 3: to take in the concert. I'm going to do it
- 26:44Speaker 3: for myself, so it doesn't bother me to see people
- 26:47Speaker 3: on their phones. But if I was the artist and
- 26:50Speaker 3: I just rehearsed for three months, this is my tenth
- 26:53Speaker 3: performance in a world tour, and I'm there performing the drama,
- 27:00Speaker 3: the lyrics, and the graphics on the put. You know,
- 27:02Speaker 3: we paid all these money for all the graphics on
- 27:05Speaker 3: the LEDs, the smoke machines, whatever, So then the viewing
- 27:09Speaker 3: and listening experience hits all these senses. I would hate
- 27:15Speaker 3: to see people watch it through a phone, because they
- 27:17Speaker 3: end up watching the performance through the phone filming like
- 27:20Speaker 3: this when the show is meant to be received like this,
- 27:24Speaker 3: and and and so. If I was the artist, i'd
- 27:27Speaker 3: be I'd be a little sad about it, because you
- 27:30Speaker 3: work so hard, you invest so much money in that.
- 27:33Speaker 3: You know so, but you know, but I think to
- 27:38Speaker 3: your point, like, I'd love to revisit that, or somebody
- 27:41Speaker 3: posted online they're like, oh my god, yeah, JC just
- 27:44Speaker 3: did a freestyle blah blah, blah blah talks about so
- 27:47Speaker 3: and so, and like you're listening to it because you
- 27:49Speaker 3: weren't there.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 27:52Speaker 2: And that's how people were able to see it because
- 27:55Speaker 2: the show didn't tape it. It came from people's phones.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I will say though, like however they listen to music
- 28:01Speaker 3: today is obviously changing and evolving. But when I went
- 28:04Speaker 3: to the Bruno Mars concert in Las Vegas, and I
- 28:07Speaker 3: and I and my phone was locked up. Yeah, my god.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I appreciated every step, every color change of the stage,
- 28:16Speaker 3: every instrument, every dance.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Move, every every note. You know, every song was so good.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It's beautiful. It's really really great. What was your favorite
- 28:25Speaker 1: concert you've ever been to?
- 28:28Speaker 3: I gotta say, ever been to Guns n' Roses?
- 28:36Speaker 1: Wow?
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yeah, ill got Roses in Rome? Oh yeah, whole band.
- 28:44Speaker 3: I'm good friends with Duff. My friend Jordan Furramisco is
- 28:47Speaker 3: my trainer. He you know, he also trained Duff, you know,
- 28:50Speaker 3: And so I met all those guys through them and
- 28:53Speaker 3: and shout out to Duff. You know, he's a beautiful,
- 28:55Speaker 3: beautiful man, a wonderful person in an icon and he
- 29:02Speaker 3: he invited all of us, my family. We happened to
- 29:05Speaker 3: be shoot in a movie in Italy. So we went
- 29:07Speaker 3: to Rome and that was Nikano's first concert. Oh man,
- 29:10Speaker 3: that's so oh so so recently, I have a video
- 29:12Speaker 3: well that was More which was three years so a
- 29:14Speaker 3: couple of years ago to yeah. Yeah, but I have
- 29:16Speaker 3: a video of Nakano on stage with gonsn Roses and
- 29:19Speaker 3: Duff coming all the way to her and like playing
- 29:23Speaker 3: electric guitar, riding in front of her, looking at her,
- 29:26Speaker 3: and she's got her little headphones and she's like, yeah,
- 29:30Speaker 3: it's so cool. It's so cool.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I saw I saw Coldplay in concert, which is one's
- 29:36Speaker 2: gonna be a good one. Amazing, amazing concerts I've ever
- 29:40Speaker 2: been to. Man, I mean, they're their whole production was incredible,
- 29:43Speaker 2: and you know we you know, we don't sit there
- 29:47Speaker 2: the whole time with our phone filming, right, but there
- 29:49Speaker 2: were certain clips that we filmed, you know, and that
- 29:52Speaker 2: was pretty awesome because then we got to bring it
- 29:54Speaker 2: back home and and and revisited. I also saw Prince
- 29:58Speaker 2: in concert before he passed. Oh that's just amazing Staples Center. Yeah,
- 30:02Speaker 2: but back then there were no phones or anything like that,
- 30:05Speaker 2: so I.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Just got to now this, he would have stopped his
- 30:07Speaker 3: concert and got home.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yeah maybe maybe, but.
- 30:11Speaker 3: It was already with their phones out. He would have
- 30:13Speaker 3: been like, nah, I'm out, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, that
- 30:17Speaker 3: was It was awesome, man, it was such a good
- 30:18Speaker 3: you missed my eyebrow.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I got what you.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Let's see here, uh, notifications and aren't from a human
- 30:29Speaker 2: The expectation of being reachable reachable twenty four to seven.
- 30:34Speaker 1: The expectation of being reachable twenty four to seven.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Hmm, what comes from me comes up for me when
- 30:41Speaker 3: you say that, I think, like, what like when people.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Going, man, I touched you earlier today and then you're
- 30:47Speaker 2: just like, hey, I'm sorry, man, I was I'm like,
- 30:49Speaker 2: I was having lunch busy.
- 30:53Speaker 3: That's interesting, right, because your phone it's become such a
- 30:55Speaker 3: part of you that if somebody is so good of
- 30:58Speaker 3: replying yeah up, and they're like, how did you not
- 31:02Speaker 3: have time to reply? But look, it's a little tough
- 31:05Speaker 3: because you and I are constantly in the hustle.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Like we're in calls, where.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Meetings, we're in zooms, we're development meetings, were like walking,
- 31:13Speaker 3: we're doing we're working out whatever and like and like,
- 31:15Speaker 3: so there are periods of the day where like we
- 31:18Speaker 3: just can't get on the phone and we can't just
- 31:20Speaker 3: text back. So I understand that from a lot of
- 31:23Speaker 3: my friends. But then there's certain people I know they
- 31:27Speaker 3: can just you know, they live with their phone in
- 31:29Speaker 3: their hand and like if they saw me, you know,
- 31:31Speaker 3: on their phone, like what happened? What's up?
- 31:34Speaker 1: Yeah? Going on, I'm busy. What's your excuse?
- 31:38Speaker 2: There are times where I just leave my phone upstairs,
- 31:41Speaker 2: you know, and I have certain family members call me
- 31:43Speaker 2: that you didn't get my thing.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I was like, no, man, I left my phone upstairs.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Like really, doesn't it doesn't computer as possible.
- 31:51Speaker 2: No, No, I just leave it upstairs because otherwise I'll
- 31:53Speaker 2: be on it, I'll get distracted.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look, I'm pretty good, but sometimes say
- 32:00Speaker 3: it'll take me a day.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Sometimes it will take me two days, you know, to just.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Go like if I go to first come, first service,
- 32:06Speaker 3: you know, it sometimes takes me a little second, you know.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But anyways, we hope that all you at home, when
- 32:15Speaker 3: you see the notification that a new episode of those
- 32:18Speaker 3: amigos y is available, that you all log in and
- 32:23Speaker 3: say I cannot wait to hear the Shenanigans of those two.
- 32:25Speaker 1: The Shenanigans, the Tomfoolery.
