- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Friends, family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning in to another episode.
- 0:24Always great topics, always great guests.
- 0:27Today is no different.
- 0:28I've got Eric Hovind back with us.
- 0:30It's been a while, but you've seen him before.
- 0:32He's an evangelist, Christian apologist, author, filmmaker, and the founder of Creation Today.
- 0:39He's also the president.
- 0:40Website, creationtoday.org, creationtoday.org.
- 0:47And brother, thank you so much for your time today.
- 0:48Good to see you again.
- 0:50Thanks, David.
- 0:51Great to be back with you.
- 0:52Yep.
- 0:52A lot of important things we need to talk about.
- 0:54One of them is reaching the youth because the church has generally not done a great job of keeping and discipling Christian young people.
- 1:03And the world gets them, and a lot of times they're gone and it's too late.
- 1:07But let's go back to what's going on, what you're doing on college campuses, because this is around a year after Charlie Kirk was assassinated.
- 1:15And a lot of awareness was raised regarding just the toxic environment on a lot of college campuses, even Ivy League, community college, just the worldview.
- 1:28Right.
- 1:29that kids have when they're in their late teens, early 20s, coming out of K through 12.
- 1:36And I want you to just speak to that, why it's important for you to try to reach these kids.
- 1:41And I know you've been doing that through Creation Today.
- 1:44Tell us about that.
- 1:46Well, I am more excited than ever about where we're at in culture, being able to share this truth between COVID and then the assassination of Charlie Kirk has certainly set the stage for a lot of people to question what's really happening.
- 1:59Can I really trust science the way the scientists are claiming I can trust it when they've taken science to such extremes that now they're saying, hang on, I got scientists like Neil deGrasse Tyson talking about transgenderism and how a boy can be a girl and a girl can be a boy.
- 2:14And,
- 2:15There's something in young people's minds that is going, I think we've gone too far.
- 2:21So I'm excited about where we're at in the awareness of the limitations of science, something that was propped up as a God, so to speak, in the schools and how they're seeing, wait a minute, I really need to challenge how far they've taken it.
- 2:36So I'm excited about where we're at and where we're going.
- 2:38Praise God.
- 2:39So am I. I think there's an openness that I haven't seen in a long time.
- 2:44Maybe openness might not be the right word because you still have to reach them and have these conversations.
- 2:48Maybe there's an interest or curiosity or then it changes to hunger for spiritual things and truth, because truth has been downplayed, redefined.
- 2:59And now here we have an opportunity that we haven't had in a long time.
- 3:03I want to mention real quick that you can catch Eric on his program every week.
- 3:08Wednesdays at 12 noon, you stream live, and then it's put out on all kinds of different outlets.
- 3:13So make sure you check that out at creationtoday.org.
- 3:16So you're spending a lot of time there on college campuses.
- 3:19You're having these conversations.
- 3:22If you could give us...
- 3:24One or two takeaways, Eric.
- 3:26What have you learned about young people today?
- 3:29And just share with us, because most of us have not been, we've not done Q&As with young people because of what we've heard.
- 3:37We've heard the environment is hostile, and sometimes it is.
- 3:41But what have you learned, brother?
- 3:43Well, I'll tell you one thing is for sure.
- 3:45They have been indoctrinated, not educated.
- 3:48And that's a huge difference.
- 3:49And that's one of the things we pull out with our questions to students is find out, hey, have you been indoctrinated or have you been educated?
- 3:56So we'll go to college campuses and we'll ask big picture questions and let the students know we're on campus today just asking big picture questions.
- 4:02It doesn't matter which way you go.
- 4:04We just want to know why you believe it.
- 4:05And then we'll pick a topic.
- 4:07Hey, are you pro-life or pro-choice?
- 4:08And most of them are pro-choice.
- 4:10Hey, I want to ask you some questions.
- 4:11What made you come to that conclusion?
- 4:13And every single one of their answers are basic talking points that are not logical.
- 4:18And then we simply write down those answers, what they say.
- 4:20And I go, hey, we just want to find out, are those opinions logical?
- 4:24Have you been educated to that?
- 4:26Or have you been indoctrinated to believe that?
- 4:28And then we start going through, you know, oh, well, what if it's from rape or incest?
- 4:32And you start checking it off.
- 4:33Well, hang on.
- 4:33Why would we kill the baby?
- 4:35And why wouldn't we kill the father instead?
- 4:38And all of a sudden, they realize, I've been indoctrinated into saying that we should create two victims.
- 4:46The baby should be a victim.
- 4:47The mother should now be a victim.
- 4:49And we got another person committing a crime.
- 4:52Now you got an abortionist committing another crime.
- 4:54And you're getting to realize...
- 4:56The logic doesn't hold up.
- 4:57Oh, well, the baby's going to grow up in poverty.
- 4:59And you go, well, hang on.
- 5:00Let's take that to its logical conclusion.
- 5:03What about the babies today that are living in poverty?
- 5:06Because if you have the right to kill it before it's born, what keeps you from killing it after it's born if it's in poverty?
- 5:12And so we're showing them logically it doesn't work.
- 5:14And I love going into the science and having the science point right to scripture.
- 5:18So that's what we love doing.
- 5:19And I'm frustrated that they've been indoctrinated instead of educated, but I'm excited to point
- 5:26and realize they can be educated.
- 5:28Yeah, we appreciate you being on the front lines with this, brother, because you're right.
- 5:32There's a lot of re-education that needs to take place.
- 5:35And sadly, even with too many Christian kids, and maybe I have to put Christian in air quotes,
- 5:42You know, because they say they're Christian, but maybe they've never read their Bible or they've never heard the true gospel.
- 5:49One thing I wanted to ask you, though, you've said before that a lot of young people haven't necessarily rejected Christianity.
- 5:57They've rejected a version of Christianity that someone else told them.
- 6:02Explain that a little bit.
- 6:05Yeah, I am excited.
- 6:06The next generation is not unreachable.
- 6:08There is hope, and I want your audience to know that.
- 6:11And that's what makes me thankful.
- 6:12That's what makes me enjoy going to the college campuses.
- 6:14But no, they have an idea of Christianity, or they've met people that have been hypocrites.
- 6:20And so they are rejecting the hypocrite Christianity, which I go, hey, I got good news for you.
- 6:26You're in good company.
- 6:27Jesus did that too.
- 6:30He rejected the hypocrites and he pushed them away.
- 6:33And so I get to find agreement with them pretty quickly and then just use some simple analogy that maybe they've never thought of to bring some light to this and say, you know, if you found a counterfeit hundred dollar bill.
- 6:46Would that make sense to say because there's a counterfeit hundred dollar bill, there's no such thing as a real hundred dollar bill.
- 6:53Say, no, that doesn't make any sense.
- 6:54And I go, exactly.
- 6:56Just because you found a counterfeit Christian doesn't mean real Christianity doesn't exist.
- 7:01This is what we judge Christianity by.
- 7:04You don't judge it by those who claim Christianity.
- 7:07You judge it by the Bible.
- 7:09So let's judge it according to what its own views are.
- 7:12So while they're not necessarily—they're hostile to the hypocrisy, and a lot of them have rejected Christianity because of the hypocrisy—
- 7:20And it's just like why some skeptics reject God.
- 7:23I'm like, I don't believe in a God that they don't believe in either.
- 7:25I agree with them on a whole lot of what they say does not exist out there.
- 7:29We got to go to Scripture and compare it to what really exists.
- 7:32I agree, brother.
- 7:33When I hear some people describe what they think is the God of the Bible, or they say, I said, no, I don't believe in that God either.
- 7:39But I wanted to ask you something.
- 7:42You said that from your experience, Christian young people—
- 7:47believers, young people that believe or grow up in a Christian home, they're not always going to their parents or their pastors with these serious worldview questions, or they don't talk about it in church.
- 8:00Why do you think that is?
- 8:01They're ashamed to talk about these important things, but they'll go to social media or their friends, their atheist friends, or their teacher—
- 8:10who probably is teaching evolution.
- 8:12Why do you think that is?
- 8:14They don't feel comfortable talking to their parents or pastor about these things?
- 8:20I think it can be a combination of a couple different things.
- 8:22And honestly, David, we could sit here for a long time and go through the psychology of what's going on or what's not going on in these young people's minds.
- 8:32But at the end of the day, here's the reality that I've seen after talking to students on campus.
- 8:37Most of their parents don't have answers, good answers, solid answers, consistent answers to the big questions that they have.
- 8:46I mean, they want to know if you get right down to it, what they want to know is, will you still love me if I don't believe what you believe?
- 8:54And I guess I can't speak for all the Christian homes out there for sure, but I think there's a lot of Christian homes that would reject a child for not believing what they believe.
- 9:05And they want to know, am I still going to be loved?
- 9:07Am I still going to be accepted?
- 9:09Can I think for myself, because we've taught a lot of people what to think in the church rather than how to think.
- 9:15And it's the same problem that we see in the culture that is the secular culture.
- 9:20I just say secular, meaning non-Christian culture.
- 9:23That same culture that is just answering questions based on what they've heard, and they've been indoctrinated rather than educated.
- 9:29I think a lot of young people in the church have been indoctrinated rather than educated.
- 9:32They've been told what to believe.
- 9:34And if they question it, they're like, whoa, you don't have faith?
- 9:37And I go, oh, that's that's not what faith is.
- 9:39Faith is not some unquestioning, you know, belief system.
- 9:43Yes, I want you to ask the hard questions.
- 9:45Christianity can handle the toughest questions possible.
- 9:49And if they can't, it's not worthy of being called the truth.
- 9:51You don't have to fear truth.
- 9:53And so they're adopting this idea of relativism.
- 9:55Maybe there isn't any truth.
- 9:57And that's that's that's hard for me to see.
- 9:59But you can break that down a lot of different ways.
- 10:01Bottom line is a lot of it's hard for them to go because they haven't found good answers all along the way.
- 10:06And they never transitioned from obey me to I want you to think for yourself, what should you do in this situation?
- 10:12And we never took them from child to adult in their upbringing.
- 10:17Now, I know you have a lot of resources on your website for parents, I'm sure, because a lot of parents might sheepishly admit that, yeah, I didn't get as deep in the Bible as I wish I could have.
- 10:27So I could have answered my son or daughter on some of these questions about the major issues of life.
- 10:34So where would you point a parent or grandparent that might be watching or listening, Eric, on your website?
- 10:41I'm sure you have a lot of resources.
- 10:44There's plenty out there.
- 10:45We're coming up on episode number 500 of the Creation Today show.
- 10:49That is searchable by topic.
- 10:51But a great resource that I made that's kind of a side note to our ministry is called searchcreation.org.
- 10:57And it's basically chat GPT that only indexes the top apologetic websites in the world.
- 11:02resources, those as your answers.
- 11:04So if you have any question on creation, evolution, science, or the Bible, searchcreation.org would be a fantastic place to go.
- 11:10Type in, you got it right there, type in, what do we know about dinosaurs or are dinosaurs in the Bible?
- 11:17And it's not only going to give you the answers,
- 11:19It's also going to give you the sources of where those answers come from.
- 11:22So it'd be a great place to go as a good resource to help you when your kids come with questions or send your kids right to that resource and say, check this out.
- 11:33We were wondering about this.
- 11:34Let's see what it says.
- 11:35And I guarantee a great response.
- 11:37So that's on the bottom of your website, searchcreation.org, creationnetwork.org.
- 11:43By the way, how long has it been now?
- 11:45The phenomenal movie, Paradise Lost, Genesis, Paradise Lost was in theaters.
- 11:52Oh, my goodness, was that powerful.
- 11:55And I know technology has gotten even better now.
- 11:58And are you working on, by the way, sidetrack, are you working on anything new now, any big projects?
- 12:04Just tell us a little bit about that, and then we'll jump back into the topic.
- 12:08my heartbeat right now is for college campuses and the way that these conversations that I can have one conversation on a college campus and have it reach tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands out there online.
- 12:19So my dad taught science and physical science and earth science and, uh, doing all the experiments with him of what, you know,
- 12:27what do you get for what do you give and all the, you know, the pulley systems and the levers and the mechanical advantage.
- 12:32I, I, I kind of run my life that way too.
- 12:34What do I get for?
- 12:35What do I give?
- 12:36And a movie is a huge project that costs a lot of money and can have a good influence.
- 12:42But if I can do the same influence by going on college campuses and having conversations, I'm going to do that.
- 12:47So it's a whole lot easier to go to college campuses and have conversations.
- 12:50So that's my big push right now is I want to be right where the college students are.
- 12:55And honestly,
- 12:56David, I don't know if this, I'm not sure about the, well, I know the theology of this, so I'll be careful how I say it.
- 13:03I've spent 27 years traveling to churches, preaching to the choir, and I've realized most of the choir isn't really doing anything with this information.
- 13:12Because if what I present is true about science and scripture, we should all be out there sharing our faith.
- 13:17And I've made easy ways to show your faith.
- 13:20I've made little cards that say how to pray, where you just go up and say, hey, can I pray with you?
- 13:24And then you, or hey, is there anything I can pray for you about?
- 13:27It's so easy.
- 13:28It's very un, what's the word, un, when you're going to offend somebody.
- 13:33Unoffending.
- 13:33Unthreatening.
- 13:34Unthreatening.
- 13:35Non-threatening.
- 13:36Yeah.
- 13:36It's ask somebody to pray and you give them a card and on the back, it says how to pray.
- 13:39And it's just a website that shows you how to pray or, or you buy a cup of coffee for somebody and we've got coffee cards and it sends them to why I bought your coffee.com.
- 13:47So I've tried to make these very easy steps, but when most of the choir isn't really going that direction, I find myself going, you know what?
- 13:56I'm just going to go to the public schools myself.
- 13:58I'm just going to make this happen.
- 13:59Let me go to where the rubber meets the road.
- 14:01And I got to be honest, you'll sit there on a campus for five, six, seven hours at a table answering questions from young people.
- 14:08And you'll leave that going, why do I do anything else?
- 14:11Honestly, why do I do anything else?
- 14:13Well, yeah, I mean, it's effective because you're talking hands-on instead of trying to encourage the church to get out there and do it, and that's a whole other topic about apathy or being lukewarm.
- 14:24But, I mean, Charlie Kirk was a perfect example of using these clips—
- 14:30with very provocative topics or statements or just questions that kids have.
- 14:35I mean, the last time I spoke at a youth camp or a youth retreat, I stayed after a session Saturday night, and the kids lined up.
- 14:43They could have gone to the campfire and had s'mores and sung and had a good time.
- 14:48kids lined up, the main question I got was on transgenderism.
- 14:52And you go back, say, okay, let's just go back to the Bible and creation and get this worldview established again.
- 14:58So with that in mind, another question I had for you is some people would accuse Christians of being too focused to make the creation issue more important than it really is.
- 15:10And you and I are going, well, that's foundational.
- 15:13But how do you respond to that?
- 15:17Well, like you said, it is foundational.
- 15:19I mean, and let me just put it simplistically.
- 15:22Can somebody not believe in the creation account in Genesis and be a Christian?
- 15:27Yes.
- 15:28Can they understand why we need the Savior?
- 15:31Can they understand sin in their own heart?
- 15:33Yes.
- 15:35Can they accurately represent the foundation for sin in humanity?
- 15:41Yes.
- 15:41No.
- 15:42And that's where I say it's important because it's foundational.
- 15:46Some people will say, don't focus on Genesis.
- 15:48Let's just focus on Jesus.
- 15:49And I go, that's fine by me.
- 15:51If you focus on Jesus, guess what?
- 15:53Jesus focused on Genesis.
- 15:55Jesus is the one who, when asked about divorce, so just like the kids today are asking about transgenderism and what, what about this?
- 16:01You know, what is LGBT?
- 16:03We're a man, woman, all this.
- 16:04Jesus, if he were asked about that, we have a model from him in the New Testament about what he would have done.
- 16:10He's asked about this subject of divorce and can a man divorce his wife for any reason.
- 16:14And it's recorded in Matthew chapter 19 and Mark chapter 10.
- 16:17Jesus goes right back to the foundation of marriage itself in Genesis.
- 16:22A real historical account, not a made up fiction, not a story to answer some ancient Near East story.
- 16:31A real legitimate foundation.
- 16:34history of the world where God made male and female and said, they're going to be a husband and wife.
- 16:39And that was the very first best marriage.
- 16:41And that's the foundation for marriage.
- 16:43Jesus went there and he would do the same thing that you just said you did with the transgender debate.
- 16:49He'd take kids right back to scripture and say, haven't you read?
- 16:53What does the Bible say about this?
- 16:54What does scripture say about this?
- 16:56So that's the best answer we can possibly give is scripture.
- 17:00And I think to expand on a little bit what you said, focusing on Jesus, and they don't want to focus on Genesis, Jesus affirmed Genesis over and over and over.
- 17:11He affirmed the Old Testament.
- 17:12He affirmed Genesis.
- 17:13I mean, think about the sign of Jonah.
- 17:15I mean, isn't that in—well, that's in the Old Testament.
- 17:18Anyway, but no, there are so many things that Jesus—married between one man and one woman.
- 17:23I mean, Jesus affirmed Genesis and creation.
- 17:26By the way, isn't in Genesis 1—
- 17:29Let us make God in our image.
- 17:32I mean, let us make man in our image.
- 17:35I mean, who is he talking to?
- 17:36The Holy Spirit was actively hovering over the waters, right?
- 17:40Jesus is preexistent there in creation.
- 17:43So it seems like it's self-defeating to say, no, well, let's not focus on Genesis.
- 17:47Right.
- 17:48Focus on Jesus.
- 17:49But yet, Eric, explain this.
- 17:51I know you've been to a lot of churches who rarely touch on the Old Testament and Genesis.
- 17:57And I know you lovingly have these maybe challenging conversations with pastors.
- 18:04How do you handle that?
- 18:06How do you encourage them to go back to something so important and teach that?
- 18:12Well, I like to give, it depends on how much time I have.
- 18:15I like to give the background of where the idea came from that we are now inserting into the Bible.
- 18:21So I love going into the history, if I have time, of where do these old earth ideas come from?
- 18:26And when you really peel back the onion, you'll discover these old earth ideas came from men that were trying to destroy the Bible as the foundation.
- 18:36And when you realize that old earth ideas were developed by men specifically to try to destroy the foundation of the Bible, Genesis, because they knew everything found the foundation of everything is right there in Genesis.
- 18:49Well, then you go, okay, well, now we've adopted the old earth ideas and we're teaching it as part of Genesis.
- 18:54This doesn't jive.
- 18:56We've got a conflict here.
- 18:57They were invented to destroy the Bible.
- 18:59And now we're adopting them saying, no, no, no, no, it's okay.
- 19:02It's okay.
- 19:02They fit with the Bible.
- 19:04And then the bigger picture for me is what kind of a God would use the process of billions of years to,
- 19:10to get the world that he wanted.
- 19:12I mean, you look today at the lion ripping apart the zebra.
- 19:16And if you adopt an old earth perspective, which more than 50% of pastors in America do, and way more than 50%, more than 70%, I believe, of seminaries teach that concept, you have to now say, God created it like that.
- 19:32And that's not what we get from Scripture.
- 19:35Scripture tells us creation groans and travails in pain.
- 19:38Scripture tells us that when God originally made it, it was very good.
- 19:42There wasn't lion eating zebra for millions of years and predation and this
- 19:48pseudo evolutionary process, whether theistic guided by God or not guided by God, just principles in place.
- 19:55The death problem before sin is the big deal.
- 19:57Because why did Christ come to die?
- 20:00Christ came to die because of the sin problem.
- 20:03This is where we, we learn about the sin problem in Genesis.
- 20:07And then we hear about Jesus all through the old Testament, leading us up to the seat of the woman that's going to save us from the curse.
- 20:13So, and then
- 20:18you go, wait a minute, if it's going to be like it was in the beginning, the lion was never laying down with the lamb, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together and a little child shall lead them.
- 20:27That never happened before.
- 20:29Why should it happen in the future?
- 20:30So you mess up theology, you mess up the foundation for salvation, even though you can be saved and not believe that.
- 20:37Amen, brother.
- 20:38I want to get to—we're running—it's going by really, really fast.
- 20:41Get to the idea or the concept of authority in just a minute, because that's what really we're talking about.
- 20:49Who's your final authority, even for Christians?
- 20:52But—
- 20:52You can either follow the word, capital W, or follow the world.
- 20:57And kids and families are watching Nat Geo Channel and Discovery, all these different networks.
- 21:04And I can't tell you how many times I've heard the intro of one of these programs showing the earth or whatever continent and saying, wow.
- 21:11millions of years ago and then talking to describe the narrator comes in i'm going right off the top they got it wrong but people are watching this and thinking science and that's real um so how do you encourage people to not or maybe be more sensitive and understand that's not biblical what the world is putting out there and what they're watching what we have been watching and taken in
- 21:38Um, this goes right back to your authority question that you said we need to get to.
- 21:42Eventually, every argument you have, every conversation you have, everything, if I'm going to talk to somebody about what the world says or what Nova or Discovery Channel or what the textbooks are teaching, you're going to go back to a foundation of says who, why do you believe it?
- 21:57And why did they believe it?
- 21:58Who says so is what it's going to come down to.
- 22:02And this is where we legitimately have a man's word versus God's word problem.
- 22:08Man says, let me look at the science and let me be a detective and let me look at the world and try to figure out what happened.
- 22:14God says, I made it.
- 22:16I'll tell you exactly what happened.
- 22:18It'd be like a detective coming on a scene and trying to figure out what's going on with a robbery and a murder.
- 22:23And he sees the cash drawer open at a convenience store.
- 22:27And he sees, man, oh, there's a dead guy in a puddle of blood.
- 22:30Oh, it looks like two bullet holes are in him.
- 22:32Then I can see a shoe print of blood up on the countertop.
- 22:35Looks like the pert must have jumped back over.
- 22:38I can do all this detective work and try to figure out what happened.
- 22:41But if the owner comes in and says, hey, I got security cameras.
- 22:43They're right here.
- 22:44Do you want to see what happened?
- 22:45Now I can see what happened and all the evidence is going to fit because I'm watching the tape of it happening.
- 22:52And in a very real sense, that's exactly what God has given us.
- 22:57He's given us the surveillance footage.
- 22:59We don't have to guess how the world came about.
- 23:02We can know how it came about.
- 23:04And people today will say, well, that's anti-science.
- 23:05That's coming to the conclusion before you see the evidence.
- 23:09That's the beauty of having surveillance footage.
- 23:11And the nice thing is, the evidence keeps fitting the surveillance footage.
- 23:16Everything we thought about genetics and how, oh, maybe it's billions of years, millions of years of evolution from an ape-like creature to a man.
- 23:23Oh my goodness, Nathaniel Jeanssen's new information on genetics, tracing the people groups of the entire world back to the 10 tribes in Genesis.
- 23:31You can do that with mitochondrial DNA now.
- 23:33It's mind-blowing.
- 23:34All the James Webb Space Telescope, the evolution model,
- 23:38says the original galaxies were very, the ones that we'd see, the beginning galaxies would be not really formed yet.
- 23:45They'd still be in their beginning stages.
- 23:47James Webb Space Telescope, we see as far as we can, and it's already mature galaxies, already heavy elements, things that the creation worldview predicted, put in print before the James Webb Space Telescope found the discoveries.
- 23:59We made the hypothesis based on the Bible being true, and our hypothesis was right.
- 24:05So over and over and over in geology, in genetics, in engineering, in astronomy, in the dinosaur soft tissue, more of the paleobiology, it all continues to confirm what the videotape, what the surveillance footage has showed us.
- 24:20Eric, I know we just have a few minutes left, but how did we get to this point where even in the church, some are questioning, like they think the Bible opposes science?
- 24:32How did we come to that conclusion?
- 24:34We bought the lies of the world, I know, but for Christians, is it because we're lacking the biblical worldview?
- 24:42What are your thoughts on that?
- 24:47Can I just be mean a little bit?
- 24:48Laziness.
- 24:49Laziness.
- 24:50The church has taught this idea of blind faith.
- 24:53The church has adopted.
- 24:54The world has said, oh, fact is science.
- 24:58Faith is religion.
- 25:00And that's not true.
- 25:02I don't believe in Christianity.
- 25:03And I don't believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- 25:05And I don't believe that God created the heavens and the earth and that God is an amazing designer because of the lack of evidence.
- 25:12I believe it because of the abundance of evidence.
- 25:15Lack of evidence would be blind faith.
- 25:17And we've got a lot in the church today.
- 25:19Well-meaning people, but just, oh, well, you just have to have faith.
- 25:23Oh, well, you know, that's why we call it faith.
- 25:26No, faith is belief in something because of the evidence, not because of the lack of evidence.
- 25:33So we've allowed the secular secular world to redefine the term where faith is blind and said, well, it's just blind faith.
- 25:39I have to believe it.
- 25:40And David, that's the problem.
- 25:41We need a well-educated, literate society of Christians.
- 25:46That's why you're producing this show.
- 25:48That's why we produce the Creation Today show.
- 25:50I want to help disciple the church and bring them up to speed on science and scripture and show them how those two worlds come together in a powerful way.
- 25:58Okay, brother.
- 25:59Sorry to leave you such little time with this bomb, but how do you encourage a parent or grandparent whose son or daughters left the Christian faith?
- 26:11Wow.
- 26:12Yeah.
- 26:13In 60 seconds.
- 26:14Let me first don't give up.
- 26:17Don't panic.
- 26:18You're not going to win every argument.
- 26:21Encourage the journey.
- 26:22That's what I do.
- 26:23I'm like, I'm glad you're questioning this.
- 26:25If you didn't question this, I would be forcing you to fall into the same trap that so many other Christians are forcing people to fall into.
- 26:32Just have blind faith.
- 26:33I don't want you to have blind faith.
- 26:34Follow this.
- 26:35Let's figure out where this goes.
- 26:36If I can answer questions, let me know.
- 26:38And then protect the relationship.
- 26:40Man, that's what's vital.
- 26:42Don't assume who they are or what they're asking.
- 26:45And then ask questions without conducting an interrogation.
- 26:49Hey, I'm curious how you would answer this because I have a hard time seeing that.
- 26:52Okay.
- 26:53And then trust God.
- 26:55Use prayer and trust God.
- 26:56I mean, honestly, with all three of my children, I've gone back and said, if God needs to take you through the mud of life to get you to Him, okay, let's get through that mud quickly.
- 27:05Okay.
- 27:06But man, I'm just excited you're on the journey, and I can't wait to see what God does with you.
- 27:09So don't lose hope.
- 27:11Pray.
- 27:12And God's first two children, they rebelled.
- 27:14So don't be surprised when a rebellion happens.
- 27:17Praise God, brother.
- 27:18I think that was really good, condensing it that way.
- 27:20But I like ask questions without interrogating.
- 27:24You know, that's important.
- 27:25And trials can oftentimes bring us to God or back to God.
- 27:29Brother, thank you.
- 27:30creationtoday.org.
- 27:31Keep doing the wonderful work that you're doing.
- 27:34Appreciate you, brother.
- 27:35Thanks, Eric.
- 27:36God bless.
- 27:38Friends, share this one.
- 27:39God bless you.
- 27:40And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
- 27:43See you next time.
