Buckle up because y'all know I don't drink coffee because this energy is just enough. Now let's get to the top three things you need to know. Amazon has announced its prime big deal days. It's coming up this Tuesday. Tuesday, October 6th, and Wednesday, October 7th. I I love it because there's like three things I really want to buy. One of them is a fanny pack. Don't laugh. I'm a girl from the 80s. I even have a hot pink one that said relax on it. Remember that song? It's in the garage somewhere, but I can't wear that. But yes, so there's things I want to buy, and I know there's some really good deals coming out. Governor DeSantis has awarded the City of Palm Bay $3 million through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund. The Phoenix Business Park is a crucial part of the city's redevelopment. plans of the northeast part of the compound. Starting today, Melbourne police are starting a high visibility campaign. The goal is to protect the traveling public on and around the roadways. Officers will focus 24 7 on the intersections like 192 and Babcock Street, which is a really heavy traffic area. The campaign runs through May of next year. So just be prepared. They're going to be out today and they'll give you warnings now. Crossing fingers. And that's it, right? They just want to make sure that. you slow down in those areas. Well, if you're looking for the best coffee, it's not far from us here on the Space Coast. A new study by WalletHub has named Orlando as the best coffee city in the U.S. That's a big deal. Households spend an average of $154 a year on coffee. The city also has the highest number of free Wi-Fi coffee and tea shops per person. I love tea. I drink green tea every single day. I'll drink coffee once a week. Today I see it happens to be one of them. It is Thursday. It is coffee day. And I know we have really good coffee here on the Space Coast. So if you want to give a shout out to your favorite coffee shop, put it in the comments. And then next week we'll give them a shout out on the podcast. And if If you're coffee company that's listening and following me on Facebook or Instagram or YouTube, give yourself a shout out. That way we can give you the bragging rights here in Brevard County. Now my husband has never really drank he drank drinks like any type of coffee, but he found Sumatra Starbucks. We've never been Starbucks people, which is a story coming up about Starbucks later in the show. But for some reason he says that's it. He tried it once and now I get it on sale when it's at Publix. Or wherever else I could find it using coupons. But that's his favorite. Sumatra Starbucks. And that's the top three things you need to know. Coming up, when you invite your mom over for lunch, and then she says, why don't we go out? Does that defeat the purpose? Does that drive me nuts? Does let's talk about that story. Has that happened to you when you're calling someone, you're just like, hey, I've got lunch, I've got dinner, I'm bringing it over, and all of a sudden like, why don't we go out? Well, I just spent money on the lunch, and that's exactly what happened to me over the weekend. Picked up or, you know, lunch from my husband, myself, and I was like, I'll get mom ribs because she loves her ribs. You know that. So I call her and I say, hey, come on over. We have lunch. Well, why don't we go out? Because I just bought lunch. Well, we can go out. Bring Michael, my husband. We go, we go out. Mom, literally. I smell it in the car. It's sitting on the right here on the passenger seat. You gotta come over. Okay. Like it was a burden. I'm giving her free lunch. So she's like, okay, I'll be there. I was like, okay. So she finally came over and she's like, the ribs are good. It was like she got all snooty. I don't know what was going on. And I just kept eating. My husband's having a conversation because he likes to poke the bear. The bear happens to be my mom. Having conversations. I was starving. I was like, I don't care if you eat or not, I'm starving. But yeah, isn't that just like, ugh. Anyway, I love my mom. You know the mama stories are always there, inviting her over for lunch, and she says, Why don't we go out after I I spent the money on lunch. She enjoyed it because you know what? She took it home to have it later on the night. Yeah, that is my story. Coming up next, the morning mind bender. And we have shout-outs for people who got it correct last week. So let's get to the morning mind bender. First, our shout-out. Here was the question. Last week's question. What 1980s arcade game was inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful coin operated game in 2005? So the answer was Pac-Man. Pac-Man was the answer. So a big shout out to Bridget and Solel, and of course the girl at my girl at work, Krysten who ran up to me and said, was it Pac-Man? Was it Pac-Man? Yes, it was Pac-Man. And then I said, Do you remember the song? And she looked at me and she's like, There was a song. All right, I'm not gonna tell you my age. But boy did I feel old. I was like, yeah, look it up on YouTube. Feeling old when someone says, Was there a Pac-Man song? E yeah. I gotta be careful what I say because now I'm starting to feel really old at work. Let's get to the question for this week, which I think everyone is gonna get. So if you get the question correct, post it in the comments. Even if someone else posted it, go ahead and post it, because then you get the shout-outs on the podcast for next week. All right, so here is the question for today's morning mindbender Since it's International Coffee Day, what coffee shop did the gang hang out in the hit show Friends? It's great. because my husband and I watched it when it was on regular television. Everyone I talked to they're like, really? It was on regular television? Another age Poking at my age. It's like, yeah, we watch it on streaming. We didn't have commercials. Well, back in the day, you actually had to watch shows and wait for the next week to get the episode. Yes, this day and age, everything's on streaming. So if you know the answer, here's a question again: it's International Coffee Day. So here's the question: What coffee shop did the gang hang out in? The hit show Friends. If you know the answer, post it on Instagram @mindyonair or on Facebook @mindylevy. Just put it in the comments and you'll get a shout-out next. Week, if you get it correct. Coming up next, Mindy's Minute. All the entertainment you need for the week. Let's get to it with Mindy's Minute. Taylor Swift full music video catalog is now available on Spotify for premium subscribers. Wow, that's a huge collection. The collection features 58 music videos from her album, including her album from Life of a Showgirl. Meanwhile, here is the big thing. Last Friday, Taylor Swift dropped a deluxe version of her latest album, including four new songs. Including one called Cleveland. A salute to her husband. Mixed reviews on that one. At least in my work. There was a big conversation about that. And but you it's your opinion. You decide if you like it or not. I'm a big fan of American Horror Story. My husband and I have watched it from season one. And it's back for a 13th season. Last Thursday, they released three episodes starring Jessica Lange. I think Jessica Lange is incredible in this series. She is just no holds bar, and she's just the classiest Hollywood star. You I mean, that that's not a celebrity. That's a Hollywood star. Season 13 will consist of 13 episodes, of course, and will feature It will air on Thursday nights on FX and Hulu. And I know a lot of people are fans of Survivor, and it's back for a fifty-first season in Fiji. It'll feature twenty-one new players competing for a million bucks. The show airs every Wednesday on CBS and Paramount Plus. And did you hear U2? U2 has a new album and it's coming out this fall called Carnaval De Luz It's gonna be on November 12th. The last track on the album is a duet with the late Dolly Parton. I really want to hear that one. The new single, Silencio, is out now. You can check it out. And that's it for Mindy's Minute. Next, the topic of the day it's pumpkin spice season. Are you a fan or a hater of pumpkin spice? And everything nice, right? Everything is pumpkin spice, and it's already here. And Starbucks is rolling out 10 collectible items featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and company. The collection ties in with the 60th anniversary of the classic. It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Now, these are two that I would love to try, because I'm a big Mocha Frappe. Hey, Mcd's. I mean, I've tried everyone, but for some reason the Mcd's ones is so delicious. So it's called the Charlie Brown Mocha Frappuccino. It features the pumpkin spice. Spice. the sweet mocha, topped with pumpkin spice cold foam, and a mocha drizzle. Gonna try that. I have to. Snoopy Cookie Frappuccino combines vanilla bean flavor and white mocha sauce, topped with pumpkin spice cold foam. and crunchy cookie crumbles? I may have to try that one too. And I didn't know this because I usually don't go to Starbucks because you know me, I only drink coffee like, you know, once a week. Did you know there's a secret menu? There's a secret menu on Star. I think I'm the only one in the world that didn't know that. I came up and I was like, wow, they got a secret menu. So there's some new spy pumpkin spice stuff on the secret menu if you do if you didn't know like me. Okay, so the question for today is: are you a fan or a hater of pumpkin spice? Post it in the comments. You can give a thumbs up or a thumbs down. That's all up to you. And we'll give you a shout-out next week. See if you like it or not. So let's find out what's trending. I I couldn't believe this. I had to look it up myself. Would you put shaving cream on your mattress? It's a TikTok thing. And I found it. So that is our trending survey of the day. TikTok trends look ridiculous sometimes, but this one apparently actually works. I have not tried it, nor will I. Shaving cream can be an effective way to remove stains from mattresses. Stains. That's all I'm gonna say. Shaving cream works well on two common categories of mattress stains. Okay, so here's what they're listing. I'm not gonna list it all because it got gross. Really, it got really gross. see, protein-based stains, including sweat and other bodily fluids. And that's as far as I'm gonna go. And apparently shaving cream works. my mattress has a cover and another cover and another cover. That's that's how I grew up. You just put covers underneath and then another cover, then the sheets and the blankets and things like that. That's up to you. You know, TikTok. It's up to you if you want to put shaving cream on your mattress. And that's what's trending. Coming up next, local events. More awards for our Brevard Public Schools. here's the list of the top Brevard Public Schools custodial assessment scores in the district. And the winners of the George Bishop Awards are. Imperial Estates Elementary, McNair Magnet Middle, and Cocoa High School. These custodial teams are cleaning up our schools and making them student ready every single day. And all three of those schools just won this prestigious award. So congratulations. That's our local feel good story of the day. Before we end this episode, gonna give you the hack of the day. This is such a good one because my husband loves eating bananas. So every time we pick up bananas, some of them get ripe really quick. So this hack of the day I found You wrap the stem of your bananas in aluminum foil, and that helps slow down the ripening and keeps it fresh longer. So try to do that. I'm gonna try to do it this week and see if it works. So far, so good. There's one banana that, you know, got a little weird. We call it wonky, so we throw it away. If it gets too- I like them, I like them greenish. Isn't that weird? My husband likes them really ripe. So yeah, so put the aluminum foil on the stem, and that should last longer. Song of the week, since it is Hispanic Heritage Month. I'm a huge fan of Marc Anthony. I seen him, I've I watched him in concert in Orlando and loved every minute of it. It's one of those shows that you you do not sit down, you just dance the entire time. And if you don't know, if you don't know how to dance, you do get up anyway. So Vivir Mi Vida, which that's the song is I'm picking for this week, which means in English, to live my life. And this is a song that we play in the car. And my husband somewhat speaks Spanish, but he learns from my mom and myself. My nephews from Jersey, no, not a not a lick, but they all sing this song because we played it so much in the house and on road trips that they actually know the words. It's a great song. It's motivation, it gets you up, you want to sing. And I have it on my playlist in the car. And the other day I was singing to it as I was driving into work, and where I work, there is a lot of you know, hounds, bloodhounds, and other dogs in that area. And I'm walking in singing that song. They started that. Howl. I told you I'm I don't sing. I talk. When the blood hounds are and I'm like hi realizing no, they're not saying hi. They were just hearing me sing in the car. When the dogs howl Mindy singing. But that that's my pick of the week. So even if you don't speak Spanish, listen to the song. It's so much fun. It's inspirational. It gets you up and motivated. Let's do our thank you shout outs for the day. A big shout out to Doris, Kathleen, Lana. John and David for posting comments this past week or so. And if you do post comments, you're gonna get some shout-out. So thank you guys for supporting and watching Mindy's Minute Podcast. And let's see, does it wrap it up? It does. That went fast.
