- 0:00Hi, it's just me popping in with a quick message to wish you and your loved ones a beautiful break this festive season. I hope you're able to take some time for yourself to recharge and reset and come back full of energy in 2023.
- 0:15Over the next few weeks, our team will all be taking a much-needed break, and you'll be hearing the best episodes from 2022. When I look back over this year, there were just so many amazing episodes. It was near impossible to choose just one handful, but we did, and they're amazing, and I'm sure you're going to love them.
- 0:34For now, I'm off to spend some quality time with my mom and my family in Queensland after three whole years of not seeing her. Can you believe it? Three years. Oh my gosh. I'm going to be doing all the little things that are good for my soul over this period and dreaming up my goals for 2023, which you're going to hear about when I come back in January. I'm so looking forward to reconnecting with you in the new year and bringing you more of the good stuff with Female Startup Club.
- 1:03Welcome back. Here are the six quick questions. Question number one is what's your why? Why are you doing what you're doing?
- 1:21Oh, my family. My family and slash my culture. I think like I just want to make them proud. And my family, my story is like the same as so many other Hispanic families and Latino families. So yeah, I want to do it for the culture. I love that. Question number two is, what's been your favorite marketing moment so far? Probably this whole thing with Minute Maid. I feel like it's kind of just validated that
- 1:51It was something worth doing. And it's honestly kind of just funny seeing like a boomer-esque energy trying to pull off, you know, ass fuck. That's so low, 100%. Question number three, what is your go-to business resource when it comes to podcast, newsletter or a book?
- 2:13I don't know if I have like one in particular. I would say like I always just like ask other people what they're into at the moment and go check it out. I know like one of the places that I started years ago was Hello Alice, like just kind of going through their platform. And yeah, but I think, yeah. Such a great resource.
- 2:34For anyone listening, Hello Alice gives out different kinds of grants from like 5K to 25K and it seems like they're doing it around the clock and it's amazing. And then, you know, many resources built off the back of that. I'm going to link it in the show notes for anyone who wants to check it out. Question number four, how do you win the day? What are your AM and PM rituals and habits that keep you feeling happy and motivated and successful? I try to get sleep.
- 3:02I know that that's like such a simple answer, but really, I think getting the right amount of sleep helps change my day drastically. And then I try to just like make time for people like this little one that make me happy whenever I need a break from work, because I don't just want to work so much that I forget to be here for him.
- 3:29We have, for anyone not watching on YouTube, we have the sweetest little guest, the youngest guest we've ever seen on the show coming into picture with some dinosaurs. And it's beyond cute. Question number five, what is your worst money mistake in the business? Ooh, worst money mistake in the business was just like partnering with the wrong co-packers.
- 3:56wrong co-manufacturers and like you don't get your money back from that kind of stuff so yeah oof what how much do you lose what's the kind of like amounts that can muck you up oh i mean you can easily lose like um tens of thousands hundreds of thousands it's really like find your time to find the right co-packer um because it gets expensive really quick gosh yeah that's a crazy one
- 4:25And last question, which you have already shared many of these, but in case you have another one up your sleeve, what is just a crazy story, good or bad, that you can share from this journey in building a business? I think that you just never know where your business will take you. And I think I had one of those moments I was
- 4:51at a conference in Abu Dhabi. And I was just sitting there thinking like, I'm here because of something that my grandpa, a migrant farm worker used to do. And like that simple thing that,
- 5:11And a thing that he did out of necessity is now has led me here with all of these amazing women. I met Huda Catan and stuff like that. And it's just like, you just never know where something will lead you. And so even the smallest of ideas can be very, very worthwhile to pursue.
- 5:36That is so cool and so true and so special. Thank you so much for coming on the show and sharing this story with us, this crazy story and this journey that you're on. How can people support you and cheer about you and be your cheerleader right now? Yeah, well, thank you so much for having me, first of all. But yeah, follow us on Instagram. It's at DrinkAlaBonita.
