- 0:08Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:11access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:15issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:17hypnotherapist, Demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:21royalty Adam Cox. These recordings took place live
- 0:24from Evans Clinic in London's world famous Harley Street.
- 0:31So get yourself comfortable and enjoy today's episode of The
- 0:35Hypnotist. And I'm outside of my studio
- 0:44today, and I'm actually in a place called Framlingham Castle,
- 0:48which is a very old castle here in Suffolk in England.
- 0:53If you're listening to the podcast, you might hear a little
- 0:56bit of a breeze going into the microphone.
- 0:58But if you're watching the video version of this on either
- 1:01Spotify or YouTube, then right now you're going to be seeing an
- 1:04ancient castle right behind me. And I'm going to use this
- 1:08ancient castle as a metaphor for boundaries, but also for
- 1:14resilience. And I think boundaries and
- 1:15resilience are some of those things that are incredibly
- 1:19useful for everyone because you can always have stronger
- 1:23boundaries and you can always be more resilient.
- 1:26And sometimes you need to have your defenses attacked to
- 1:31realize how resilient you are or where you need to increase your
- 1:36defenses. And that's why This Castle Ruins
- 1:39Behind Me is quite a good metaphor for that.
- 1:43Now, if you're listening and you like the kind of stuff that I
- 1:46do, check out the description. And there will be lots of free
- 1:50things like free courses, free downloads that you can check
- 1:54out. But if you just want to listen
- 1:56to the hypnosis audio now, find a quiet, comfortable place where
- 2:03you're not going to be disturbed.
- 2:05Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 2:22you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 2:28relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 2:34any feelings of worry, stress, or tension to feel like it's
- 2:41leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 2:44And when you breathe in, allow yourself to breathe in for
- 2:51longer. And as you exhale, just allow
- 2:58the feelings of any worry, stress, or tension to feel like
- 3:03it's leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 3:09So much so that each breath you take allow it to be deeper and
- 3:18longer and more effortless than the previous breath.
- 3:25That's right, breathing in that relaxation and exhaling that
- 3:34tension, each breath takes you deeper and deeper than the last.
- 3:44As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens and I wonder
- 3:52what it would feel like to keep your body exactly where you are
- 3:56right now, and for your imagination to go and float back
- 4:03in time. And I want you to imagine what
- 4:08it would feel like to float back in time to an ancient medieval
- 4:17castle, just as it was first being built maybe 78900 years
- 4:26ago. I want you to witness maybe the
- 4:32Duke or the Baron of the time deciding on the perfect location
- 4:39to build. Maybe on a hill, maybe in a high
- 4:44vantage point, in a place that they knew it would have the
- 4:49ability to see for miles around. Observe as they collect
- 4:56resources needed to build the castle, perhaps chopping down
- 5:04trees to really create the structures, the scaffolding.
- 5:11And I want you to get a sense of just how much original stone
- 5:15would have been required. And just imagine what would have
- 5:20taken perhaps decades. You get to see in just a few
- 5:24moments, like time lapse photography, I just get a sense
- 5:29of how the castle, the towers, perhaps even the Moat or the
- 5:37ditch around it, even the drawbridge were all created
- 5:43purely to defend. And I want you to get a sense
- 5:48that all of your life's experiences up to this point
- 5:53have been building your castle walls.
- 5:58Every experience that you've ever had, every mistake you've
- 6:02ever made, has given you wisdom, has given you insights.
- 6:09And I want you to get a sense that your castle walls are built
- 6:15on the foundation of your experience.
- 6:19And the walls are your wisdom as you breathe in and breathe out.
- 6:26I wonder what it would feel like to feel like you are in the
- 6:32castle. And the castle walls represent
- 6:37your boundaries, your rules to keep you safe.
- 6:44And I want you to get a sense that if you ever feel taken
- 6:48advantage of, if you ever feel that you're frustrated that you
- 6:53said yes to something that you didn't really want to do, what
- 6:59you can learn from that is that currently your castle walls are
- 7:04not strong enough. And I want you to imagine
- 7:09reflecting back on recent experiences and getting a sense
- 7:15that now is the time. That if those same things from
- 7:21your past happened now in your present or near future, that you
- 7:29would handle them differently because your boundaries and
- 7:33defenses are stronger than ever before.
- 7:40As you breathe in and breathe out, I want you to imagine being
- 7:46the castle walls. As you breathe in and breathe
- 7:51out, I want you to feel that anything within the castle walls
- 7:55that is no longer serving you. Perhaps a belief or an emotion.
- 8:03Intrusive thoughts. Just allow those to exit the
- 8:07castle over the drawbridge and instead allow things outside of
- 8:14the castle into the castle. It would be beneficial for you
- 8:22and maybe that would be more confidence, more assertiveness,
- 8:28perhaps more self belief or self love.
- 8:31All of the things that you want more of.
- 8:34Allow into the castle and any frustrations or anger,
- 8:41resentment or regret, Allow that to leave the castle.
- 8:46And when you're confident that what you desire is in the castle
- 8:53and what you would like to have left the castle, has left the
- 8:57castle. I'm going to count from 1:00 to
- 9:0110:00, and I want you to imagine raising the drawbridge.
- 9:06That means that those things that you don't want in your
- 9:10castle cannot easily return. So just imagine that winch or
- 9:19ratchet mechanism and as I count from 1:00 to 10:00 you will
- 9:23imagine raising the drawbridge. Everything you desire is in your
- 9:29castle walls, and everything you no longer desire is outside of
- 9:37your castle walls. Starting to count one.
- 9:42Just raising that drawbridge 2. See it getting higher, and as
- 9:49the drawbridge raises, your relaxation gets even deeper 3.
- 9:59Even more 4. It's already impossible for
- 10:02those things to return now 5. The drawbridge is halfway raised
- 10:10and then six, nearly there, completely at the top 7.
- 10:16Just imagine that drawbridge nearly at the top now and then
- 10:218-9 and ten. And now imagine the drawbridge
- 10:27is fully raised and the port colors.
- 10:31That metal gate then is lowered. Your castle walls are now
- 10:41impenetrable, but let's make them even stronger.
- 10:47I want you to imagine you now take a bird's eye perspective
- 10:52and you're able to see the castle from above and the
- 10:57outside. And I want you to be scanning
- 11:02for weaknesses in your castle defences.
- 11:07Maybe the walls could be taller or thicker, maybe more turrets
- 11:14or towers. Maybe you could build an army or
- 11:19a Garrison to defend your castle.
- 11:22And as you imagine these things happening, I want you to feel
- 11:28your inner feeling of resilience increasing.
- 11:33Feel your boundaries getting stronger and stronger than ever
- 11:38before, and imagine your resilience at new levels.
- 11:46But if we've built and reinforced and even allocated
- 11:54resources like a Garrison to defend your castle, then we need
- 12:00a battle to test it. So I want you to imagine
- 12:06something that happened in the past that violated your
- 12:11boundaries is now happening now. But you control an army, you
- 12:18control the castle. And I want you to imagine how
- 12:24you would behave and deal with that same situation differently
- 12:31now that you have this strong boundaries and resilience and
- 12:35defences. And you can play out different
- 12:40scenarios, different ways of thinking about that situation
- 12:48and keep doing that until you find the perfect way to handle
- 12:54that situation. So much so that what happened in
- 12:59the past could not happen in your future.
- 13:04Not because the outside world has changed, but because you are
- 13:11stronger, more resilient, and have more ability to defend
- 13:20against those people that may exploit you, demean you, take
- 13:26advantage of you. I want you to feel stronger than
- 13:31ever before. But let's do one final Test.
- 13:37I want you to consider a situation that hasn't happened,
- 13:42but if it did happen, it would be a challenge for you.
- 13:48Maybe it's someone very pushy. Maybe there's power dynamics at
- 13:53play. Maybe there's coercion or
- 13:57expectation. And I want you to imagine that
- 14:02scenario happening like a battle against your castle.
- 14:08And I want you to think about yourself in the third person,
- 14:13how that version of you with those strong defenses and
- 14:16boundaries would deal with that situation.
- 14:21Just get a sense of are you using language, decisions,
- 14:29confidence or something else? Sometimes silence and simply not
- 14:37responding can be a way of defending.
- 14:42And the deeper you breathe, the more resilient you feel.
- 14:46And I want you to see that future version of you
- 14:50impenetrable to the kind of things that may have made you
- 14:53feel bad or weak or taken advantage of in the past.
- 15:01And when you've seen that future version of you successfully
- 15:06defend that situation, then imagine stepping into that
- 15:12future version of you, feeling all of that strength, all of
- 15:19that pride, all of that confidence, feeling that you're
- 15:22able to do more of what you like and less of those things that
- 15:27you have no desire to do. It's time to leave this castle.
- 15:35But before we leave, I want you to imagine going to the throne
- 15:41room, and I want you to imagine sitting on the throne and
- 15:47feeling of infinite self worth. Perhaps you could imagine robes
- 15:55or even a crown. But as you sit on that throne,
- 16:01hold the posture of someone with infinite confidence, infinite
- 16:06self esteem, an infinite self worth.
- 16:10I want you to feel so valuable of you and yourself exactly as
- 16:19you are. Harness that feel that way and
- 16:25hold on to that feeling. And whenever you think of a
- 16:30castle or a throne, you will reactivate this feeling.
- 16:36A feeling of empowerment, autonomy, and a wonderful
- 16:44feeling of being in control of your destiny.
- 16:50I want you to imagine keeping the drawbridge raised, the port
- 16:53colors down, and imagine floating back to your reality.
- 16:59Because this castle now represents your boundaries, your
- 17:05resilience, and the the throne represents yourself worth.
- 17:10But it's time to float back, taking all of these feelings
- 17:13with you. Take a deep breath in through
- 17:18your nose and out through your nose.
- 17:23Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 17:27Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 17:31from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 17:35Starting to count 123 Waking up 456.
- 17:41More alert 7-8. Open your eyes, open your eyes,
- 17:47910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 17:51awake. Thank you so much for spending
- 18:04your time to listen to this Castle inspired hypnosis
- 18:08session. If you're a regular listener or
- 18:13follower of the show, you'll know that the vast majority of
- 18:17the hypnosis sessions that I record are inside my studio.
- 18:22I like recording these outside hypnosis sessions inspired by
- 18:26nature and architecture and real situations.
- 18:29So let me know in the comments or perhaps let me know by liking
- 18:34or sharing this with someone that might appreciate it,
- 18:37because that will tell me that you appreciate this type of
- 18:41content compared to just the studio hypnosis and that will
- 18:44increase my motivation to record more of them.
- 18:47That would be very much appreciated.
- 18:49Thank you again. I hope you've got some value
- 18:51from this hypnosis session and I will see you again in the future
- 18:56for the next one. Thank you so much for joining me
- 19:01on this episode of The Hypnotist.
- 19:04And if you've got some value from this episode, I'd like to
- 19:08ask a favour. And that is that all of the
- 19:11platforms have some way of you telling us that you like it.
- 19:16And that might be hitting the like button.
- 19:18That might be giving it a five star rating or a short review.
- 19:22And if it's possible and it is on Spotify and YouTube, if you
- 19:26can drop a comment with what value you got from the show or
- 19:29anything you liked in particular, that really helps
- 19:32the algorithm to put it in front of new people.
- 19:35Thank you so much again for joining me on this episode and
- 19:38I'll see you again soon in the next one.
