Transcript
- 0:14Hi, everyone.
- 0:15Welcome to this episode of Tony and Sarah Unscripted.
- 0:19We want to talk about last weekend
- 0:21or this past week, and I should say.
- 0:24I just want to I want you to start talking about
- 0:28how you felt when you walked in to the space,
- 0:30and then you can, you know, just go ahead, go ahead.
- 0:32Because I'm so excited to talk about.
- 0:34So, what are we going backwards?
- 0:37Let's go backwards a little bit.
- 0:38Let's actually, you know,
- 0:41we have some new followers, you know, which I'm super excited about.
- 0:45They don't know how we met.
- 0:46So why don't we start from, like, the beginning?
- 0:49Beginning?
- 0:49The beginning when your life changed forever.
- 0:52Okay. Yes.
- 0:54So the beginning.
- 0:55In the beginning would be about
- 0:59three, four years ago now.
- 1:01Probably four.
- 1:01Yeah.
- 1:02Cameron came out to us as transgender.
- 1:05And so I say this before I still don't know how I got your name.
- 1:10I still don't remember, really.
- 1:14I just can't I don't know that because it was one of those things
- 1:17where it was sort of like an underground, right, underground thing, like
- 1:21because the groups that you ran were very, well, you very private.
- 1:25So somebody gave me your name.
- 1:28I reached out to you, and then you reached out back to me, I think the next day.
- 1:32Procrastinator.
- 1:34And, and we got,
- 1:36a zoom call a couple of days later.
- 1:39Remember that? Yes. So that's how we met.
- 1:42And it was basically a parent not knowing
- 1:46what to do or to turn, like all, you know, just
- 1:51very, lost.
- 1:53I think it's important to mention
- 1:55how you introduced yourself to me, because I think that's a really
- 1:59that's what shocks me when I think about our first interaction.
- 2:03And I said, hey, how you doing?
- 2:05And you said, hi.
- 2:09And my husband is
- 2:11Catholic, Republican, conservative.
- 2:13And I almost fell off my chair.
- 2:14But that was some
- 2:17that was scary for me a little bit.
- 2:19I was like, am I going to be able to help this family?
- 2:22Because some other parents, like us, other family.
- 2:25I've had other. Yes.
- 2:27And some have helped their child and some have not.
- 2:30So it was like.
- 2:31But I remember it.
- 2:33I remember that like it was yesterday.
- 2:35Yeah. Yeah. My husband and I was.
- 2:36It was off the camera wouldn't get on the camera.
- 2:38He was kind of behind the scenes, as they say.
- 2:40Yeah.
- 2:41What you were saying and my friend Lynn, my best friend Lynn, who I swear.
- 2:46Okay, Lynn, hold on for a second. Lynn.
- 2:48Lynn says I met her.
- 2:50Yes. Okay, Lynn.
- 2:52My apologies. Okay.
- 2:54Are you coming to the. Okay. Forget it.
- 2:56I will meet you again. And remember. Yeah.
- 2:58Well, she was actually in the room as well when we were talking.
- 3:01Oh, I didn't know that.
- 3:02Yeah. Yeah. Just finding out about that.
- 3:06But anyway,
- 3:07so that's kind of how you and I met, and then,
- 3:10I came to the groups that you offered, and,
- 3:14Cameron got involved in different things
- 3:16and sort of the journey of that journey began with you alongside us.
- 3:22I remember I was doing this art event in North Haven,
- 3:25and this is another moment when I think about I almost start crying.
- 3:28So, you know, I might get emotional here.
- 3:30And it was over.
- 3:32A lot of kids showed up and I walked to leave, and you were sitting in your car
- 3:36and I walked over to you and you were like, I said, what's going on?
- 3:40Well, he's I hope he makes friends.
- 3:41I hope he makes friends because he really didn't have that type
- 3:45of friendships after he came out
- 3:49and started, his transition and.
- 3:52Yeah. And man, did he make friends.
- 3:55I mean, yeah, he is very, very close to one of the girls that he met that night.
- 4:01They're very, very close. So yeah. So cool.
- 4:04And that's all it takes, right?
- 4:05I mean, he was he before he came out in terms of friends
- 4:09and was popular and all that stuff.
- 4:12And then everything changed.
- 4:14So he I know he felt very lost and, very lonely.
- 4:19And when we went to that night in North Haven, he met quite a few kids and, and,
- 4:24and I feel like they, kind of all understand each other.
- 4:29And it's almost an easier way to make friends
- 4:33because you already have something in common. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:36So, so
- 4:39keeping that in mind from
- 4:42that journey, I remember sitting down with a friend of mine, Bob Hargraves,
- 4:46who I said to her, I want to do A girl for pride.
- 4:51And we were in the back of a restaurant in the summertime.
- 4:54A few years ago, and she said, okay, I'm in, you know, whatever you need.
- 4:58And I was like, okay.
- 5:00So we just kind of went with that.
- 5:02And we started. You were in the first group that we had?
- 5:05Yep. We had, got a committee together and,
- 5:08we had that first pride.
- 5:10It was about over three years ago now because the fourth one is coming up. Wow.
- 5:16And it was very successful.
- 5:18But in order to have that, you needed to have a nonprofit sponsor, right. So
- 5:25I just said, okay,
- 5:26well, I said of finding a nonprofit, I'll just create.
- 5:30And why not? Why not?
- 5:32So I did I started off Alex, acceptance, love, equality in the NHS.
- 5:37And I loves
- 5:38the NHS because so many people are like, that just doesn't make any sense.
- 5:42And I think that your meaning is wrong.
- 5:44And I was like, what is this NHS means?
- 5:47Eager to learn, eager for change.
- 5:49Which made perfect sense.
- 5:51Makes perfect sense, right?
- 5:52Because I had so much that I needed to learn about this
- 5:56new community.
- 5:57And X is hard and X is
- 6:00not a whole lot.
- 6:04So from from that, we kind of, sponsored a career prom.
- 6:08And then we got together with North Haven Pride,
- 6:10and we sponsored a second career prom with them.
- 6:13We sponsored a talk with you for your author talk.
- 6:15Yeah, it was great. That was great. Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
- 6:18And then we kind of tried to do some sort of educational things
- 6:22and noticed that that was a little bit more harder. Right?
- 6:24You'd get the same people that would come to these presentations,
- 6:27and they were all the people that already supported.
- 6:30Yeah.
- 6:31And already had no issues with with what we were doing.
- 6:35They maybe wanted to learn a little bit more about the, the transgender community.
- 6:39So we started just to think about like, what are we going to do?
- 6:41And, and I always in the back of my mind,
- 6:43I thought it would be great to have a space
- 6:45because I go back to that time with Cameron when he was in North Haven.
- 6:49Yeah, that thing and with very like minded kids.
- 6:55And he instantly, instantly
- 6:58made friends and connections and I think about those kids
- 7:01and how hard it might be for them to find that connection in their own school.
- 7:07Right.
- 7:07It's hard when you, when you don't play sports
- 7:10because you automatically, you know, in sports it's great.
- 7:13It's a team sport.
- 7:14You're automatic on a team, right?
- 7:16They have things in common.
- 7:17Even in theater, it's great. Right?
- 7:20Because you're with people that are like minded to you.
- 7:23And so, I think that,
- 7:28sometimes kids don't have that comfortable
- 7:33place.
- 7:33They don't quite sure where they fit in.
- 7:35And if they're not, academically minded, sports driven or anything like that,
- 7:41they just feel like maybe they don't they don't quite fit in, particularly
- 7:44where we live, which is in the shoreline, which is a fantastic area to live.
- 7:47And I do love it.
- 7:48And there is nothing for them on the shoreline,
- 7:51closest Pride Center or anything like that.
- 7:54A welcoming space is in New Haven.
- 7:56New Haven, right? Yeah.
- 7:59And how it happened was, one of my neighbors reached out to me
- 8:02and said that she would like to put Alex in as a contender to get a $25,000 grant
- 8:07from her company. And so if you remember, I.
- 8:10Yeah, I was like, this is this is amazing.
- 8:13Got her all the information she needed. And
- 8:17instantly I thought,
- 8:19well, if we did get that, we could open a space.
- 8:24And so that was in December.
- 8:27Yeah.
- 8:27And the space just opened this past week.
- 8:30Who does that?
- 8:3214th.
- 8:33We had our open house.
- 8:35It's beautiful space, very small, but just
- 8:41and cozy, I should say. So small.
- 8:43Cozy, right.
- 8:44So, it's just perfect for what we want to do with it right now.
- 8:48And the.
- 8:52I think the hardest part right now was just getting the information out there
- 8:55about it. Yeah, that it's open.
- 8:57And what what we're doing there and what we'd like to offer.
- 9:00And I've spoken to a bunch of,
- 9:03a couple of different therapists who have all sort of said the same thing,
- 9:06which is that this is a space that's needed and it's not it's needed community.
- 9:11It's also for kids that just don't feel that they belong.
- 9:14Yeah.
- 9:14And beyond that, I know that I've met a few adults
- 9:19in the queer community who have sort of said, listen, we miss getting together
- 9:23and having, coffee talks or just moments where we can get together and talk about
- 9:28what's going on. Yeah.
- 9:29So now we're kind of providing this space for adults.
- 9:32We're looking to provide space for we're doing tee times.
- 9:36So this would be for either transgender youth 13 to 17,
- 9:41or the other side of that will be 18 and up.
- 9:44And that's just within the transgender community.
- 9:48There is, a whole bunch of struggles that they deal with on their own.
- 9:51Right?
- 9:52Yeah.
- 9:52Are so separate from anything that I would know.
- 9:57And beyond the fact that they have to deal with
- 10:00the terrible political side of things, as a trans female,
- 10:04I think you want to learn things maybe like how to dress.
- 10:07If I want to wear makeup, you know, that kind of stuff, which is probably it.
- 10:12It's it just may not come naturally or may you may think, oh,
- 10:16I'd like to, to sit with somebody who could kind of show me, yeah,
- 10:20what might suit me or how or just sit with community,
- 10:23just sitting in a space where you don't have to explain who you are.
- 10:26You don't have to be afraid of who you are.
- 10:28I mean, you know, as a trans person myself, I remember the first time
- 10:32I was in a room with other trans people
- 10:35and there wasn't that many trans men.
- 10:37There was.
- 10:38There were really almost I think I was the only trans guy in the space.
- 10:42And I remember saying to myself, man, this is great, but,
- 10:46you know, same church, different pew type of thing.
- 10:48Like, how can I like, I always dress like a dude, so I didn't need to.
- 10:53I always wore a tie was, you know, I was so butch when I was
- 10:56in the lesbian band that I was in when I identified as a lesbian.
- 11:00We were playing at this event, and I remember when we were leaving,
- 11:02I heard this woman say, I thought it was a lesbian band.
- 11:05Who's the guy?
- 11:07And that was prior to transition.
- 11:09But just offering this space.
- 11:12And when you walk into this space for everybody who's listening,
- 11:16there's peace.
- 11:18There's just that sense of I'm safe here
- 11:23as you get it, as soon as you walk into the space.
- 11:25And I'm just super excited.
- 11:27But I'm so proud of you because,
- 11:31you know, it just happens because it's supposed to happen.
- 11:34Like the reason why you said, oh, in December, December, this past December,
- 11:38I think we're going to do a space.
- 11:40And then February 14th the space opens.
- 11:42That's unheard of.
- 11:43And the universe or God or whoever anybody believes and knows
- 11:47when something is needed, it needs to be there.
- 11:49And and I'm so proud of you. Thank you.
- 11:51Yeah, I do, I do think everything just sort of aligned at the right.
- 11:54Yeah.
- 11:55And it was pushed by this neighbor of mine saying, you know.
- 11:59Yeah.
- 12:01I'd like to add to see if I get this right now,
- 12:03we got some of the money, not all the money,
- 12:05but it, was just enough for us to say, okay, let's just take this plunge
- 12:10and let's do this.
- 12:11So it did kind of all fall, just fall together at the right time.
- 12:14So this, so, yeah.
- 12:17So the space is going to be used for different art groups and support groups.
- 12:22We're thinking of opening it as well for local schools.
- 12:27If there's kids who just want to come down and hang around and sort of
- 12:30sit on a very comfortable beanbag chair.
- 12:34Yeah. Read some of the books that we have.
- 12:36We've got a lot of different books there.
- 12:37If they want to just draw or write or color or take a breather
- 12:41or listen to music, you know, whatever they kind of want to do,
- 12:45and then for them not to worry about or how do I look?
- 12:48What am I wearing? Someone going to make fun of me,
- 12:52somebody to call me by the wrong name or pronoun.
- 12:54Right? Yeah. So
- 12:57and I remember watching Taylor Swift,
- 13:00this whole documentary that they did
- 13:03about, the, the error tour that she did
- 13:07and one of her dancers, did you ever did you watch that?
- 13:12I did not watch it.
- 13:13I watch it, though, I watch it. You should watch it.
- 13:15I will say I'm not a huge Taylor Swift fan.
- 13:17I think she's amazing.
- 13:19Isn't Joe, though?
- 13:20Your husband?
- 13:21Yeah, but she.
- 13:22But she's fantastic of what she's done.
- 13:24What an incredible businesswoman.
- 13:26But she had one of her dancers was,
- 13:29a male who, you know, you could tell
- 13:32he liked to sort of dress more feminine at times.
- 13:35And he had longer hair, and I, I, using the pronoun
- 13:38he maybe doesn't know it by he.
- 13:40I don't quite know because I don't think they really spoke about that.
- 13:44But what he did
- 13:45talk about was how difficult it was for him
- 13:48growing up in the dancing world, because he wanted to do a lot of what
- 13:53the females were doing, and it just he it was very hard for him to find a studio
- 13:58that would agree to that, or that would allow him
- 14:01to just express himself however he wanted to.
- 14:03And it was difficult, very difficult for him.
- 14:06And I suppose the dancers
- 14:09all get excited if they're chosen to do the song.
- 14:11I think it's ready for it.
- 14:13Yeah, and he was chosen to do it and he was beyond excited,
- 14:19and he just spoken in tears
- 14:22through tears of of how this much this meant to him,
- 14:25that he was going to be allowed to express himself.
- 14:28However, he wanted and he wasn't going to be judged,
- 14:30and he could truly be who he has always been.
- 14:35Yeah, but rarely allowed to show.
- 14:38And what an incredible talent to me.
- 14:40He's just so talented and just a huge smile on his face.
- 14:44And he was so grateful to Taylor Swift.
- 14:46And I don't think that I'm sure she knew what she was doing for him.
- 14:49But I also, from what I gather from her,
- 14:53she was probably like, of course he can do.
- 14:56Yeah.
- 14:57And if you if you're if you've never felt
- 15:00that feeling of not being able to be yourself.
- 15:03And I think people need to understand that like being a trans person myself,
- 15:08I know what it's like to hide who I really, really at was, you know,
- 15:12I mean, I was never able to express fully who I was.
- 15:16And if you've never been
- 15:17in that situation, man, when you get to do that, your life changes.
- 15:21It's lifesaving when you can be in the space.
- 15:24And we know this for the youth of our community that
- 15:27when they're in a space, even if it's a few hours a week, it saves them.
- 15:32It saves them, you know, when they're around people and they can
- 15:35every time I'm talking about this and, you know, and when we talk, we write.
- 15:38We see a story in our brains, you know, and I, I just picture Cameron
- 15:42laughing with all his friends and leaving his 16th with a 16th
- 15:46or 18th birthday, his 18th birthday.
- 15:49He walked out of that pub with a bunch of friends,
- 15:53and I leaned over to you and I said, do you remember when you in the parking lot
- 15:56in North Haven, you were worrying about if you should have friends or not?
- 16:01But it's life saving.
- 16:03So Alex really is providing a space that's really going
- 16:06to make a big difference in a lot of people's worlds.
- 16:09Because when your kid is sad, you're sad.
- 16:11When your kid is struggling, you're struggling, you know?
- 16:14So yeah.
- 16:15And it's not just about
- 16:18opening a space for the queer community, which of course, that's what this is.
- 16:22But it's also a space, even if you're not queer.
- 16:24Yeah. And you feel
- 16:27unwanted
- 16:27if you feel like you don't belong, even as adults.
- 16:30How many times have we walked into spaces and
- 16:34you're like, oh, gosh, I don't really fit in with this group.
- 16:38And and you're uncomfortable.
- 16:39So we never truly get out of that.
- 16:43We just probably learn where to walk into and yeah,
- 16:46and where we're going to feel wanted and needed and like, like we belong.
- 16:50But, it's something that I think we all, we all deal with.
- 16:54And sometimes I remember even a few years ago, I was on a trip
- 16:59with a few girls, and I knew most of them, but not very, very well.
- 17:05But there were things about them that I just felt like I didn't belong,
- 17:08and it was very uncomfortable and I say a few years ago, this is probably
- 17:11going back 8 or 10 years ago, but okay, well, that's a few.
- 17:14Yeah, yeah, I was in my early 40s and still in my early 40s.
- 17:18I felt like not good enough.
- 17:20Yeah, I felt like I just didn't belong.
- 17:22It was very uncomfortable for me.
- 17:24And I thought, why would I put myself in that situation?
- 17:28I think people I mean, it's hard, like
- 17:30it's hard to make friends when you're an adult to think it's harder
- 17:34because, you know, a lot of people just isolate nobody, you know,
- 17:37I don't like prior to transitioning, there were bars I used to go to.
- 17:42I was a club promoter.
- 17:43I was around a lot of people all the time, and not anymore.
- 17:47I mean, there's really no place where I feel I feel comfortable going,
- 17:51you know, and sometimes you drag me out
- 17:53like the other day or like just come down to the space and
- 17:55it makes a difference when you're around, just being around other people's energy.
- 17:59And I'm glad the space is open, not just for the LGBTQ community.
- 18:03That it's a space for everyone is welcome.
- 18:05Yeah, yeah.
- 18:07So, super excited about it.
- 18:09We're going to run into a couple of groups.
- 18:11This week, which is the week of February 16th.
- 18:14And then really what we're looking to do is,
- 18:17what do what does the community need?
- 18:20What do these kids need?
- 18:22Who are not into sports, who are not into academia,
- 18:26who are not even maybe even to theater?
- 18:28And they just they just can't find their space.
- 18:30Like, what do they need? They'll tell you.
- 18:33Yeah, that's what we want to hear back.
- 18:35Like, when should we be open? What groups do they want?
- 18:39And not as a, as I
- 18:41said, not just the youth as well, you know, the young adults.
- 18:45Given that Cameron's 18,
- 18:47most of his friends now are,
- 18:51young adults, right? Yeah.
- 18:52And as you know, we had an event at fired up in Brantford.
- 18:56Yeah, it was great to go.
- 18:5820 adults showed up and it was heartwarming to see.
- 19:05And it reminded us of the need of just maybe,
- 19:09this kind of fun event where people could go and be together.
- 19:14They want to not worry about snickering in the corner or not worried about someone
- 19:18getting mad or upset or, as you say, wrong pronouns, wrong names or or anything.
- 19:23Yeah, and I would love to have heard the story of every single person
- 19:27that was there, because some of them I would look at and I was like,
- 19:30You know what?
- 19:31I wonder what their story is.
- 19:33Or I wonder why they felt this was a there was somebody that showed up
- 19:36that I started they started my group when they were 12 or 13
- 19:40and they were there
- 19:41and they came up to you afterwards and said, thank you for doing this.
- 19:43And so many people
- 19:44came up to you and Cameron and said, thank you for doing this thinking
- 19:48we got to do another one because, it was just super successful.
- 19:52Yeah.
- 19:52So it just
- 19:53it just shows you that again, it's not just the youth, it's the young adults.
- 19:57And, and it's also the older adults.
- 19:59Right. So we'll try to get
- 20:02all ages
- 20:03and yeah, you will see it'll organically narrow
- 20:06down to what it's supposed to be and what's needed right now.
- 20:09But right now we're just thinking, let's see.
- 20:12Let's open it to everything and everyone and all ages and see who who we can help.
- 20:17Yeah, we can, you know, and and it might just be a few people
- 20:21that want to get together and, and knit while they talk.
- 20:26Right. Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:27Or just have, you know, a coffee and a few snacks
- 20:31while they, talk about their fears.
- 20:34Right.
- 20:35And I think right now, particularly the parents of transgender individuals,
- 20:39we also are going to be having a parent or caregiver.
- 20:43That's great.
- 20:43And as a person who
- 20:47when Cameron first came out to me a few years ago and living where we live,
- 20:52it was a
- 20:53lonely existence for me because I knew what I needed to do.
- 20:57And, you were obviously very, very helpful to me,
- 21:01but to deal with what I was feeling was hard.
- 21:05I didn't quite know if anybody else felt the way I was feeling
- 21:10because I almost didn't want to show or tell how I was feeling,
- 21:12because I felt like that would show that I was not being supportive.
- 21:15And that's not the case.
- 21:16I, you know, I could be supportive of Cameron,
- 21:19and loving of him,
- 21:22but also having my own difficulties with, with what I was dealing with.
- 21:27So I think it's important
- 21:29to create a space where caregivers and parents and families
- 21:33can say, of course, I love my child, and of course I'll do whatever I can.
- 21:37However, can we just talk about what this means?
- 21:39Yeah, yeah. How difficult this may be.
- 21:41Can we talk about how all of my dreams and thoughts and everything that I thought
- 21:47was going to
- 21:48happen is going to happen in a different way now?
- 21:51And how yeah, how you accept that.
- 21:54And, and so I wanted to make sure that there was a space
- 21:56where these families could come and be like, what the heck?
- 21:59Yeah, I'll tell you that.
- 22:02It was so important.
- 22:03When the group started for me in 2008, the parents were sitting outside
- 22:07in their cars while the teens were inside, and one day I was just I went outside.
- 22:12I said, listen, I can get you a room in the in the building.
- 22:15I think you might have something to talk about for parents started.
- 22:19And, you know, I would, you know, after this, I'm saying like, don't
- 22:22go by the numbers because a lot of people start support groups
- 22:26and then people don't show up, or two people show up and they're like, I don't.
- 22:29I didn't care if one time one kid showed up
- 22:32and I took them to Starbucks and we had coffee, it didn't matter.
- 22:35And then you walk into these rooms and the parent group, at one point
- 22:39there was like 40 parents that showed up.
- 22:41It was it's so it will it will build on its own.
- 22:45It will become what it's supposed to become.
- 22:48And I love that.
- 22:49I hope in your facilitating the parent group.
- 22:52Yeah. Okay.
- 22:52Good.
- 22:53So, you know, you have your facilitating, you have the space.
- 22:55Now everything else will just the does the sense of,
- 23:00peace and love and compassion that that space has already.
- 23:06And then you going in and you facilitating this.
- 23:10People are going to want to be there because people aren't around
- 23:13that we're not around that energy of compassion and love a lot, you know.
- 23:17Well, particularly now, I think, that as parents,
- 23:22all we're seeing and hearing a lot of is the damage
- 23:25that we're doing to our children, the irreparable damage.
- 23:28Yeah.
- 23:28And you're seeing a lot or I'm seeing a lot because I'm on the wrong side
- 23:32of something.
- 23:33Detransition stories
- 23:34or whatever they call them now, and they're pushing those out now a lot.
- 23:38But their agenda, right?
- 23:39Yeah. Of course.
- 23:40And it's.
- 23:43I won't say that I won't read through these and think
- 23:47this is nothing like Cameron's story.
- 23:49And that's the thing is some of these,
- 23:54are they teach, you know, just what are they called?
- 23:57I always say change in gender journey, but I don't like the word detransition.
- 24:02But some some of their stories are most of the stories
- 24:05that I read are completely different from Cameron's and
- 24:12then you read the
- 24:12comments and you read how parents should be, you know,
- 24:17sent to jail and the parents are at fault for all this.
- 24:20And then it goes to the doctors are at fault. And,
- 24:23you know, let's let's just really take a moment here because
- 24:27we hear a lot about I'll use the I'll use the term detransition.
- 24:31It's less than 1%.
- 24:34But we never ask why.
- 24:36And I can tell you that in my experience working with this,
- 24:40you know, this community that I've had a couple of kids
- 24:43who had said, you know what, I can't do this.
- 24:46I can't because they weren't getting support.
- 24:48They were getting bullied at school.
- 24:50So they stopped their transition until they were old enough to do it
- 24:53on their own.
- 24:54You know, listen, we know,
- 24:57we know, especially you and I.
- 25:00We sat in the pain. Yeah.
- 25:02I remember that call that FaceTime with Cameron
- 25:05like it was just again like it was yesterday.
- 25:07I remember the only thing I said to him was, what do you need?
- 25:11Okay.
- 25:12And it changed.
- 25:13Like, you know, I mean, it's that simple.
- 25:15It was that simple.
- 25:16It was that simple that anybody that knew what he was going through.
- 25:20Yeah, yeah.
- 25:21So, I mean, that's a whole other podcast to talk about, right?
- 25:25Yeah.
- 25:26But but the whole point is that as parents, we, we
- 25:31we struggle a lot. Yes.
- 25:32And then we're being questioned by our decisions and then we're told
- 25:36we actually can't do what we know is best for our child.
- 25:39Yeah.
- 25:39This spaces for that.
- 25:41Yes, I love it, I love it, I love it.
- 25:44What we'll do, is a short link,
- 25:47the website link, the email, that you can send an email.
- 25:51Yeah.
- 25:52And I have, if you have any questions about groups, if you have any ideas
- 25:55of what you would like to see us do, please send us an email.
- 25:59We're open to to hearing lots of different things right now.
- 26:02I'm excited.
- 26:03I'm excited to see where this goes.
- 26:05I will make a prediction right now on this podcast
- 26:08that we will grow out of this space in six months.
- 26:12All right, I'm telling you.
- 26:14Yeah.
- 26:15All right.
- 26:15When I say your mouth to God's ears, my mouth to God's ears,
- 26:19I guess I don't know my mouth to Buddha's ears.
- 26:22And I'm getting I don't know. This is this.
- 26:25I'm really proud of you. I'm proud of you.
- 26:27And I can't wait to see this grow.
- 26:29I mean, again, from December to February.
- 26:33Who does that?
- 26:34Who does that?
- 26:35You know, and then. Oh, wait wait wait wait.
- 26:37Pride's coming. Coming.
- 26:39May 17th.
- 26:40Nope. That's Cameron's birthday. But,
- 26:4216, which is a Saturday rain date is May 7th.
- 26:46Okay.
- 26:47And so out of the three years that we don't say it.
- 26:51Okay, the first year it did not.
- 26:53I can tell you, right?
- 26:54Yes it did.
- 26:55We use the rain date to tell you right now the what
- 26:58if we have about May 16th as a day of our.
- 27:02I can tell you that it will rain on May 6th and 2020.
- 27:05And listen, one year it was raining right over the.
- 27:08Oh, right over the Guilford Green,
- 27:09because when I left a block down it wasn't raining, I swear.
- 27:12But here's the deal everybody,
- 27:14if you're listening, start praying to the weather angels, okay?
- 27:17Make it a beautiful, sunny, breezy, not too breezy
- 27:20for the 10th day, but something that not, you know, hot.
- 27:23You know, just just nice.
- 27:25Just good stuff. That's it.
- 27:27All right. Yeah.
- 27:28That's it.
- 27:28So thank you again for joining us.
- 27:31And we'll see you next time.
