- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the porch because we are in the
- 0:32middle. Well, actually, it's the
- 0:34beginning, if I'm being very accurate, of the hurricane
- 0:38coming across us and you can hear all of our frogs going
- 0:44insane and it's pouring and it's pitch black and it shouldn't be
- 0:49pitch black right now, but it is pitch black and creepy to see
- 0:53how dark it is right now and. Somewhat exhilarating to hear
- 0:58all the frogs having a party in the rain.
- 1:00So we're shooting from the porch today, my friends.
- 1:03So what does this all represent when these things happen?
- 1:07Massive amount of uncertainty because you don't really know
- 1:10the weather people they predict, they talk about what they think
- 1:14is going to happen. But whenever the these storms
- 1:17happen, whenever there's bands of hurricanes that are coming
- 1:20across us and. You know, we're on the side of
- 1:23it. And you know, I woke up this
- 1:25morning, I I should say I was woken up this morning by my
- 1:28phone screaming at me that we were in a flood alert, immediate
- 1:34flood alert. And it was just that.
- 1:39And at first I was so aggravated that that's driving my day that
- 1:43way. And I thought to myself, well,
- 1:45hang on. You know, they're doing their
- 1:47job, and I'm grateful that they're doing their job, that
- 1:50I'm hearing it no matter what. I got an alert, doesn't matter
- 1:53if I need it or not. What matters is that I got the
- 1:55alert and I can decide what to do with it.
- 1:58And I started thinking about how, you know, this whole thing
- 2:03affects human behavior. The 2nd we have something out of
- 2:06the norm, what we have to do to change what we have to do to be
- 2:09prepared. And some people adhere to it.
- 2:13And some people. I appreciate it.
- 2:15And some people absolutely hate it and freak out by it and don't
- 2:18want to do anything. And you know, it got me thinking
- 2:22about what I was going to talk to you guys about today, which
- 2:25is the fact that you have to be like genuinely, you have to be
- 2:30able to pivot genuinely, you have to be able to change your
- 2:33approach. And when you can do that, you
- 2:36can actually absorb anything. So once my phone went off and I
- 2:39was irritated as hell. And the dog went vertical
- 2:43because she was so upset. I said to myself, no, wait, this
- 2:47is a gift because we have all recently seen situations where
- 2:51they didn't get a warning and they were wiped out.
- 2:53So I'm totally okay and and the minute I had that perspective,
- 2:57especially if you think about the horrific heartbreaking fires
- 3:01in Hawaii where they had no alerts of what was going on, the
- 3:05second I thought of that I was like.
- 3:07You can shut up now in my head. Look at what happened.
- 3:10You got an alert, and even if it turns out to be nothing, you got
- 3:14the alert. And so I went from irritated,
- 3:17probably angry, to gratitude in a heartbeat.
- 3:21And the that ability to be able to pivot and to be able to find
- 3:25the gift in it was huge. So that's what this is about
- 3:30being able to recognize. It is so incredibly important to
- 3:35figure out your pivots, how you can do it quickly, what you can
- 3:40do just like me deciding, OK, I'm not going to go out and
- 3:42shoot with the chickens today. Today we're shooting with the
- 3:44frogs because that's the beauty of living on the farm.
- 3:47I can shoot and cover many different things when I choose
- 3:50to. It it it, it's all about the
- 3:53pivot, all about the choice. And I'm not going to let this
- 3:57affect what I do for all of you, so.
- 4:02Looking at your life in general and saying how often do I pivot
- 4:06well or do I try to hang on to what is not working.
- 4:10That's probably the hardest part for I think most of us is
- 4:13hanging on to what we think should be happening instead of
- 4:16focusing on what is happening and what we need to do in those
- 4:20moments. That's the part that's so
- 4:24incredibly dynamic and. It moves constantly, and you
- 4:30have to be able to move with it. You have to be just as dynamic
- 4:34as the situations. You have to be able to pivot
- 4:36just as much as the situation pivots, and if you're not
- 4:40willing to pivot, you will suffer the consequences.
- 4:44It's just a simple fact. Now, the consequences can be
- 4:49great sometimes, and the consequences can be harsh
- 4:52sometimes, but it's really. Position of how you interpret
- 4:56it. Know if you can hear that
- 4:57Thunder rolling in, but it's loud, gosh, it's loud, loud,
- 5:04just as loud as the frogs. And it it gives you that
- 5:09ability. When you're able to pivot like
- 5:11that, when you're able to shift your focus, your attention, your
- 5:17intention, it gives you the position of being in the
- 5:21driver's seat again. It stops you from.
- 5:24Rolling every issue into one big anxiety ball and trying to solve
- 5:30a problem with a driver and emotional driver that is ill
- 5:33equipped and ineffective. So I'm going to challenge you
- 5:37guys to go off and think about the fact that you have this
- 5:41ability. It's in you.
- 5:43Every one of us has this ability within us.
- 5:47We just have to cultivate it into something.
- 5:50That ability to be able to pivot and that ability to be able to
- 5:53recalibrate ourselves and to say, OK, I'm going to redirect
- 5:58myself and be able to ride these waves, ride out this storm, or
- 6:04ride this greatness for the best that it can be.
- 6:08All right, my friends, I hope you have a very blessed day.
- 6:11And wherever you are, stay dry. I know I'm going to try to work
- 6:14on that today and keep the girls dry as well in the chicken coop.
- 6:19And we will see you tomorrow from there.
- 6:22Have a blessed day. Bye.
