- 2:23It's not it doesn't we can't tell anybody about what. No, I don't
- 2:29say it. We have lots of things going on in our personal lives.
- 2:34It's nothing podcast related. Don't get excited and think that there's something new and
- 2:38exciting. This is You're gonna get the same old shit every week. So
- 2:42this isn't our personal lives. We have a lot going on, and no
- 2:45it's not divorced based on last week's episode. Yeah, yet we're still working
- 2:50on all right, So let's go ahead and get into this week's episode out
- 2:54of Oklahoma. Richard Barry Douglas was born January nineteen. Not what nay Douglas.
- 3:02No, No, hey Douglas. I don't think they you know what,
- 3:07Stuy. In current times there might be a nay for Richard, a
- 3:12nay name. But back then, you know, those stuff was, that
- 3:15stuff was on the d L. So this is all Dick Douglas. Yes,
- 3:20Stewart, he's obviously the victim in this. Do you have to start
- 3:23already? Jesus Christ? Do you have to start in on? What?
- 3:30Have we ever started with the killer's name? We always start with the victim's
- 3:35name, you were so anyways, he's looking at me like, oh shit,
- 3:40because he's making fun of the victim because he thought it was the killer.
- 3:46I guess because he's used not used to us heaven because usually men,
- 3:49you know, were always doing the murdering around here. But m Richard Berry
- 3:53Douglas, would you like me to continue stut out all that other stuff?
- 3:58No. Richard Barry Douglas was born January nineteenth nineteen thirty six to Charles and
- 4:02Myrtle Douglas in Norman, Oklahoma. He would that's where ou is do?
- 4:08I had an aunt and uncle up there I had Well, that's where I'm
- 4:11originally from, Norman, No, Oklahoma. Well, my great aunt and
- 4:16uncle were in Norman, Okay. Nobody gives a fuck anyway, mine.
- 4:23They're not listening right now. Can we get past the first sentence? All
- 4:26right? He would grow up in Anna Darko, Oklahoma. Now Richard had
- 4:30a passion for sharing the Word of God and began teaching sermons at the age
- 4:33of sixteen. See don't you feel really bad about everything you said? Call
- 4:36him Dick Douglas. You shoe have really been. Now in his twenties,
- 4:42he would meet Maryland Sue Douglas nay Lacy. There you ghost do nay Lacy.
- 4:47Marylyn was born January first, nineteen forty three, to Clarence and Jesse
- 4:51Lacy and Shawnee, Oklahoma. Now Marylyn shared Richard's faith, and the pair
- 4:56quickly fell in love. They would marry on July eighth, nineteen sixty one,
- 5:00in Altus, Oklahoma. Maryland was just eighteen and Richard was twenty five.
- 5:04Now Shortly after marrying, they would welcome their first child, Richard Brooks,
- 5:09in nineteen sixty three, and four years later a daughter named Leslie.
- 5:13Now, after having children, the Douglases loaded up and they headed to Brazil
- 5:16to spread the gospel. So they're going on a missionary down there, now,
- 5:24they were. They did this missionary for several years, living in a
- 5:27town called Bellham. Now, the family had some of their best memories living
- 5:30in Brazil. As the children grew older, they decided to return to o'carty,
- 5:34Oklahoma, probably mispronouncing that o'carty Oklahoma, to live more traditional lives so
- 5:40the kids could go to like a regular high school and things like that.
- 5:43But they really did love their time at Brazil because they kind of were living
- 5:46in you know, like missionaries. They were living in the wilds. Yeah,
- 5:50they weren't living in no resort lifestyle. I've never been a missionary thing.
- 5:54Now I've done some missionary work before posession. I'm so messed up.
- 6:02Okay, oh man, I'm going to helm Um anyways, So Richard became
- 6:09the pastor of Putnam City Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and Maryland sang in
- 6:14the choir each week and stayed at home with the children. Now, Richard
- 6:16was a very popular pastor. His his church would pack in the crowds every
- 6:20single Sunday. Now, I also worked with prisons at the penitentiary. They
- 6:26would uh the prisoners at the at what I said, Okay, he went
- 6:32to the penitentiaries and he did all that. He was like a pastor and
- 6:39things like that, and spread the word of God to to prisoners at the
- 6:42penitentiary. Now they would uh. They were very known as be very giving
- 6:48members of the community. They were always looking out for everybody else above themselves.
- 6:53And the Douglas says they were doing well in Oklahoma. Brooks was like
- 6:57this. The children were as well. He was an athlete playing on the
- 7:00football team, and Leslie enjoyed spending time with their mom in the kitchen and
- 7:02competing in pageants. On Monday, October fifteenth, nineteen seventy nine, the
- 7:08whole family was at their home and o'karkey, is that how you're going to
- 7:12say it? I don't know how, I said, o'carchy, okay,
- 7:15okarchy, Marilyn and Markey sounds weird. I don't know. Oh, CarKey,
- 7:19Oh there's oh, there's my car keys there they are. Oh you're
- 7:24wearing carkeys today? Oh jeez. The family was preparing to sit down for
- 7:29a meal when they heard the dog's bargain. Leslie went out the front door
- 7:32and found a man. She asked him if he needed any help, and
- 7:35he said he didn't, in fact need some help. He needed to find
- 7:38an address. Leslie went into the house to get the phone book and the
- 7:42man entered the home behind her, saying that he also needed to use the
- 7:46phone. Now, they didn't know him, but it was not uncommon to
- 7:49how strangers showing up at the house. So this goes back to, like
- 7:53we said, they're very helpful, giving people in the community. People knew
- 7:58they could go to this and they could and overly trust him. Yes,
- 8:01they Well, they're trying to follow the word of God Stewart, which you
- 8:05would know anything about. But are you talking about missmissionary now? The man
- 8:13put the phone book back down and he said that he left the phone number
- 8:16that he needed in his pants, the route in the car. So the
- 8:20guys driving around with a couple of pairs of pants, I guess. Now
- 8:24he returned into the house, he bent down and he pulled a gun out
- 8:28from behind his back. He then pointed the gun in Brooks's face and told
- 8:31him, you know what this is about. At this point, the family
- 8:35knew that this was a robbery, so Brooks handed the man forty three dollars.
- 8:39This is what he had in his pocket at the time. I just
- 8:41want to add, I don't know if we mentioned it that the sun goes
- 8:43by Brooks because remember he had named Richard Brooks. He goes by Brooks because
- 8:48his dad's name was Richard. So that's when we're referencing Brooks is the teenager.
- 8:52Yes, Now, another man entered the home at this time, and
- 8:56he also had a weapon, which was a shotgun. They went through Marylyn's
- 9:01purse and they found what they could and there to steal. The two men
- 9:05then gathered the family together and one of the men they bound and gagged Richard,
- 9:09Marylyn, and Brooks. So the mom, dad, and teenage son.
- 9:13Now at this point they hadn't tied up Leslie. So one of the
- 9:18men stood over the family pointing a gun at them, and the other man
- 9:20went through the house pulling phone lines to make sure they couldn't if someone got
- 9:24loose, they couldn't call for help. He also ransacked the home, stealing
- 9:28anything of value. Now, when the man returned to the family, he
- 9:31had Leslie come with him and asked her to show him where they hid any
- 9:35of their value pules. Now, after she walked on the house with him,
- 9:37he took her to her room. This is when he then raped Leslie
- 9:41and after he was done, the other man raped her as well. Remember
- 9:43she's only twelve years old. The family could hear all of this going on
- 9:48and Leslie crying and saying no. Now, after they were done being some
- 9:52second motherfuckers, they brought Leslie back down with the rest of the family and
- 9:56they tied her up as well. They then helped them sell to the hunt.
- 10:00Cooked meal that Maryland and Leslie had on the stove. They sat down
- 10:03at the table was all prepared for dinner. Yeah, the family had set
- 10:07the table, plates, knives, forks, the whole thing for their family
- 10:11dinner. They were getting run having these sick fuckers just do all this then
- 10:16sit down at their place settings and start to eat the food. And start
- 10:20to eat the food. The cat is out of control, guys. Now,
- 10:26these guys have been there in the house for about two hours and after
- 10:30they ate, they started talking with the family trying to figure out how they
- 10:33were going to get out of the house, which get in your car and
- 10:35lean I guess now the family, I mean, but how are they going
- 10:39to leave with without getting caught? I mean the whole family seeing their faces
- 10:46and everything, like what are they what are their plans? Like, what
- 10:48are they going to do? Or are they gonna go completely forward and murder
- 10:50all these people? Or are they just gonna take their chances or what that
- 10:54they won't call the police and let them get a head start, Like,
- 10:58oh my god, what's going to shut up? Stuart? You're so annoying.
- 11:03Why don't you read Stuart? So the family agreed. The family agreed
- 11:09not to call the police for about four hours after the men left, but
- 11:13the men started backing out on the deal. I mean, what deal.
- 11:16They're the ones that hold all the cards. I know that they're negotiating with
- 11:20them and the guy and they thought they had it. They had had it
- 11:22said They're like, hey, we'll wait four hours and then we'll call the
- 11:24police, giving you guys a head start or whatever. And they're like,
- 11:28Okay, that sounds like a good idea. And then the guys are like
- 11:30oh wait, maybe that's not so. Yes, they were backing out of
- 11:31the deal. They are negotiating with these assholes. So the family's trying to
- 11:35negotiate and the assholes are like, you know what, we don't have to
- 11:39negotiate about nothing, I guess Stuart. Yes, yes, yes, go
- 11:45on, I'm right, thank you. Finally, one of the men went
- 11:48out to the car and just started it. The other man, the one
- 11:52with the shotgun, had told him before he left, listened for the sound.
- 11:56Now this is when the family knew that they were in deep, deep
- 12:00and that they probably weren't going to get out of her alive. The man
- 12:05walked over and shot Brooks from behind. Then he shot Maryland, then Richard,
- 12:09and then Leslie. Now the men left, Brooks was able to move,
- 12:13so he crawled over to untie his mother and his father. Now his
- 12:18father told him to untie his mother first, and he does and tells her,
- 12:22you know, he's tell him, He's like, mom, you're free
- 12:22and stuff with that. You can move. She looks up at Brooks and
- 12:26then puts her head back down and she died at that moment. That was
- 12:30the last thing he saw was her lifting her head up and then her putting
- 12:33it down and she was gone. Now Brooks calls Crawls over to Untie his
- 12:37dad and tells him that tells his dad, you know mom's mom's dead.
- 12:41He then tells his dad that he loves him, and that's when Richard passes
- 12:45away as well. So now mom Brooks is again only a teenager. He
- 12:50just watched his mom die in front of him, and then the same thing
- 12:52with his dad. Now at this point, it's just Brooks and Leslie tied
- 12:56up. They're bleeding out in their home with their mom and dad line dead
- 13:01beside them. Now, Brooks was shouting into Leslie, not sure what they
- 13:03were going to do. Leslie managed to get her for her like the binds
- 13:07that were around her free and she runs to the kitchen to get a knife.
- 13:11She cuts the rest of Brooks's ties loose that he had around his ankles
- 13:16and stuff, and they were able to run up the house and they just
- 13:18they weren't even sure where the killers were or anything, because this was they
- 13:22didn't lay there after. They as soon as they heard him leave, they
- 13:24started moving around trying to get free and everything with this. So these guys
- 13:28are not that far off from the house at this point, Yeah, they
- 13:31could be style out there in the yard or or whatever. So they get
- 13:37into their dad's plymouth duster. They drive to a family friend's home who happened
- 13:41to be a doctor. Once inside, Brooks collapsed. The doctor took both
- 13:46children in the nearest emergency room, where they went into surgery to repair the
- 13:50damage from the gunshot wounds. Brooks had been shot twice in the back.
- 13:54One of the bullets nicked his heart and collapsed as lung Laslie had been shot
- 13:58twice as well, once in the lower back and once up at the top
- 14:03in the center of her back. The bullet had gone through her chest,
- 14:07through her back, and then out her chest. While the children fought for
- 14:11their lives, the doctor and his son drove out to the Douglas's home to
- 14:15see if they could say Richard and Maryland. Now obviously there was no help
- 14:20in them, and they found them laying lifeless in the living room. Now
- 14:24police were called to the home and after looking at the scene, it looked
- 14:26very similar to another robbery that had occurred not too far away in Hennessey,
- 14:31Oklahoma. I do know how to pronounce Hennessey. Now, the family at
- 14:35this home in Hennessey had only been robbed, and but they were left unharmed.
- 14:39They were they were able to give police a very good description of the
- 14:41two men, as well as the card that they were driving. Thankfully for
- 14:45a police The car that they did drive was unique as in it was a
- 14:48yellow Chevy Malibu Malibu with primer spots. I didn't know know they made Chevy
- 14:52Malibus back then? Is that car has been around for that long? I
- 14:56guess, okay, I don't drive Chevy. Another lineage of the Chevy Malibu.
- 15:03Someone out there knows all the lineage of Chevies and specifically the Malibu.
- 15:07I'm sure now it because they had those primer spots on it. That's where
- 15:11it was very distinct. It wasn't you were gonna you were gonna notice that.
- 15:16It's like a car with tattoos. For God's sakes, you're going to
- 15:18notice it. So when they got the description of the car, they began
- 15:20asking around if anyone recognized it. Now police caught a break when a man
- 15:24named Wayne reported that the car had been stolen. He told police that he
- 15:28had let two men he worked with on an oil rig borrow it and they
- 15:31failed to return it. They visit that oil rig to talk to Wayne,
- 15:35and he says, the men quit that morning. They said they needed to
- 15:39get They had to get to town because they were afraid the police were looking
- 15:41for them over some warrns. So they asked to borrow the car. I
- 15:46don'm not sure how Wayne thought this was going to end for him. We
- 15:50have to leave town, Wayne, because yeah, they said we have to
- 15:54get to town because they have thought the police were had some warrants out for
- 15:58him, and so I'm not all sure. Away, Wow, Wayne thought
- 16:00that they were going to bring the car back or I mean, depending on
- 16:04where, which which um position on the rig he worked, could be the
- 16:11level of thinking. Well, back then it was we hired you for your
- 16:17we hired you for the from the neck down. If you worked on an
- 16:18oil rig, you're out there round about it. Yes, anyway, So
- 16:25so he said, so he reports the car stolen. Well, this whole
- 16:29thing about the warrants wasn't true at all, but the two men h Steven.
- 16:33I mean, I don't know why you would cope with that story.
- 16:34You would say, I have warrants. Why would't you just come up with
- 16:37some other just a normal story. Why would you come with you have warrants
- 16:42if you don't even have warrants, it's a brand. Yeah, like we
- 16:47gonna we're gonna run to the local, the local burger joint and get some
- 16:49food. And Wayne's like, sure, bring me back up burger and cheeseburger.
- 16:55So anyway, so the two men their names were Steven Keith Hatch and
- 16:59that he was twenty six, and Glenn Burton Agg who was twenty four.
- 17:03They had been rested before in burglary to burglary charges but did not haven't,
- 17:07like said, any active warrants, and no one's looking for them or anything.
- 17:11So this whole fabricated story was just something that they made up on the
- 17:17spot to get Old Wayne to let them barter their car, which Wayne should
- 17:18have said no. Frankly, Wayne could have stopped this. Come on,
- 17:23Wayne, get it together. Police start tracking down the movements that day and
- 17:29after they left the oil rigg they headed into town withdrew all the money that
- 17:33they had in the savings account from the bank, which was about a thousand
- 17:37dollars, which I feel is like a lot of moneys do back then.
- 17:41It's a lot of money. Right now, well, I mean it's a
- 17:44lot is it? I mean, am I buy you a cardon at Eggs
- 17:47or whatever? Yeah, I'm looking it up right now. Oh, that's
- 17:49purchasing power of about four thousand, one hundred and eighty nine dollars. That's
- 17:55a lot for two dumbasses that came with the excuse of a warrant. But
- 17:57they were working on the oil riggs. Don't if they paid similar to Nell,
- 18:00I mean or riggs pay really well. They paid well back then too,
- 18:04Yes, they were always paying well now. They then went and purchased
- 18:08whiskey and beer from a liquor store. After that, they found someone to
- 18:12buy cocaine and speed from. After this, they headed to the first home
- 18:18that they had planned to rob out in Hennessee. There they took about another
- 18:22thousand dollars, ironically not drinking any Hennessey not drinking any and they also stole
- 18:29the shotgun that they used later for the murders. After doing this, they
- 18:33headed to the Douglas's home, where things went obviously terribly wrong. Police were
- 18:40concerned that the men did not need to go to the Douglas's home that day,
- 18:44and they had because they had already had close to two thousand dollars cash,
- 18:48a car, and a gun. Yeah, there was no Their concerns
- 18:52is like, okay, so they had this, they had this robbery that
- 18:53went really really well. They go in, they get their cash, they
- 18:57doubled up what they had. They've got drugs, they got alcohol, they
- 19:00got guns. Now they got this car. Nobody knows who they are at
- 19:04this point that they're you know, looking for them or anything like that.
- 19:07Why continue on when you already have enough to get you out of town and
- 19:11get you pretty far down the road out of the area. I'm glad you
- 19:15asked that, Okay, because police believe that they were so hyped up from
- 19:18the first robbery going so well that when you mix the drugs and the alcohol,
- 19:23they pretty much thought they were invincible. Yeah, and that high on
- 19:26like if everything going right, they're like, Wow, we're really good at
- 19:30this. This is so new calling We're gonna do it. We're gonna do
- 19:32this all day. I have about five or six places. Yeah, I
- 19:33mean, the fucking idiots, Now this is a dangerous combination. And police
- 19:40need knew that they needed to find these two fellows before they pulled this shit
- 19:44again. Yeah, because now they've already murdered what they believe is for people
- 19:48they obviously now have nothing else to lose. I mean, once you do
- 19:52that, they've raped a twelve year old, murdered for people like you know,
- 19:56they don't know that two of them are still alive. But at that
- 20:00point where there's nowhere else to go but continue on this path and try to
- 20:03see how long you can make it. Yeah, suicide by cop if you
- 20:07do get cornered. So now police started a statewide manhunt for Ache and Hatch,
- 20:12and they had a six hour head start on the police, So they
- 20:17could be anywhere at this point. Yeah, in Oklahoma, I don't know.
- 20:19I mean, Texas is pretty far to drive. You could still be
- 20:22in the state six hours in Oklahoma, you could be you could be gone
- 20:26the state at this point. Oh yeah, Now all of Oklahoma was on
- 20:30high alert. You had two armed and dangerous men on the loose. During
- 20:36this time, the community was coming to grips with their beloved pastor and his
- 20:40wife being murdered. On October eighteenth, just three days after the home invasion,
- 20:45Richard and Maryland were laid to let two rests at Puntingham back this church,
- 20:51thousands showed to pay their respect, but two very important people were missing,
- 20:56Leslie and Brooks. They were still in ICU, fighting their lives with
- 21:00police guarding their rooms. They were afraid Aki and Hatch would come back to
- 21:04try and kill the siblings because they were witnesses. I don't understand. I
- 21:08didn't really understand. So why would they Maybe the kids said go ahead and
- 21:14have the funeral, But you know, why wouldn't you wait and have the
- 21:17funeral because some people need that closure, you know, to go to the
- 21:19funeral and be able to mourn and do all that stuff. But the two
- 21:25kids were left out of this. I don't know if they're completely left out
- 21:29of this decision. I'm assuming so because they were an ICU. I don't
- 21:30even know if they could talk or anything. I don't know. I don't
- 21:33know. Maybe some better research would answer these questions. Shut ups, Stuart,
- 21:37maybe you should do some research, assphase. Now, both Brooks and
- 21:41thank you. Both Brooks and Leslie were helping the police as much as they
- 21:45could, walking them through the events of that night and the descriptions of both
- 21:51men. Now, on the afternoon of the funeral, a woman was shopping
- 21:55in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and she noticed a yell yelly yelly, yellie.
- 22:02I started reading yellow and Chevy as one word a yellow or our daughter
- 22:08would say, yello, Chevy Malibu sitting in a motel parking lot. Now
- 22:15she had seen reports to be on the lookout for this such a vehicle,
- 22:18and she called police because this has been spreads and you know, any of
- 22:21the surrounding states are like, hey, these people are crazy. You need
- 22:23to be on lookout for this car. So police arrive and they confirm it
- 22:27was the car. They asked around and found out that the men had been
- 22:30seen walking to a nearby bus station. They also found that the out that
- 22:34the men had hired some ladies of the Evenings too, if you will,
- 22:38because I'm not getting in the whole debate a belt no, no hookers is
- 22:45completely out sex workers versus prostitutes, because I have my own strong feelings about
- 22:49it, but I'm not gonna get into it anyways. So we're just gonna
- 22:52call them ladies with the Evening. No, We're definitely not gonna go with
- 22:56hookers, although you call me a hooker sometimes, so oh, this is
- 23:02true. Anyway, So some ladies of the Evening and the women good for
- 23:07them were cheering for these ladies, because guess what, they stole a thousand
- 23:11dollars from these dumbs. So these women are our heroes at this point.
- 23:18So they check with the bus station and found that they had taken a bus
- 23:21to Memphis, Tennessee. They're gonna go to Graceland, Yes, to see
- 23:25the King. Now, the police they continued to track them in and found
- 23:27that they had hitchhike down to South Louisiana looking for work on oil rigs in
- 23:33here. Yes, that's why I told you I was confused. I was
- 23:36not confused, but had to take a second about where the murders occurred because
- 23:40they were everywhere. They they did the full tour of the US, so
- 23:44they felt to get any work on any oil rigs down in South Louisiana,
- 23:48and so they ended up working at a carnival as carnies like because classic You
- 23:53know, is that where the red flags were from last episode? Yes,
- 23:56that's where the red flags were. Meanwhile, back in Oklahoma on Halloween,
- 24:02Leslie and Brooks were finally released from the hospital and they were moved to a
- 24:06secure location. They were still under police guard in case Ak and Hatch came
- 24:11back. The two would go through pretty much in unimaginable circumstances because shortly after
- 24:18the murders, all of the belongings in their home that they shared with their
- 24:21parents was auctioned off to pay their medical bills. They were then separated physically
- 24:26because Leslie went off to live with relatives in another town and Brooks stayed with
- 24:32church members so he could finish his senior year. Yeah, these were This
- 24:34was in the time, so they were in the secure location. And then
- 24:37obviously after the the guys were caught. Yes they were caught spoiler lord.
- 24:44But yeah, they just I mean, I can't even imagine all there was.
- 24:47They even had pictures of them. This garage cell that they just were,
- 24:52opened the house up, pulled everything out, and started selling the stuff
- 24:53to pay the medical bills for the house. Who the help pulled this off?
- 24:56I don't know. I guess the church. I'm questioning why they had
- 25:00they weren't they didn't hold off on the funeral until the kids could come.
- 25:03I don't know. It's very I don't know. Maybe someone should have researched
- 25:07this anyways. Now, while working the Carnie circuit, Akee and Hatch met
- 25:14a woman named Virginia Ginger Keith. Her name is Virginia. She went by
- 25:18Ginger Keith and she began to hang around with the pair. Now we got
- 25:22a new cat. That's a problem. This is Jangles. Jangles. You
- 25:26were sitting in the easter basket happy as can be. Yes, I still
- 25:30have easter basket stuff. Don't judge me. All right, the cat is
- 25:36gone. Now he might still be crying outside the room, but he's gone.
- 25:40Um, you know what the thing is, guys, The children aren't
- 25:44the problem with this podcast. It's the animals. They're out of control.
- 25:47They're well, what happens is once the children go to bed, they they're
- 25:52like, okay, we can come, we can we can uh descend from
- 25:56our our cat trees in our beds and everything. We were hiding from these
- 26:00children so we didn't have to interact with them all day. And so then
- 26:03they come down and they're like, okay, where are the big humans at
- 26:07that we like to play with. We're full of energy. Now, yeah,
- 26:08we're full of energy. Let's do this, and we locked ourselves in
- 26:11a room. So then they're like, well, we want to be involved,
- 26:15but they suck. So anyways, so they so they meet this ginger
- 26:18girl and she starts riding around with them. Well, they end up being
- 26:21fired from the carnival after eight got drunk and fired off his shotgun in the
- 26:25air. Classy move, I mean, I think that's I felt like back
- 26:27in the seventies, that would beard That'd be standard practice at any carnival,
- 26:33I would assume. Well, used to do it at my meddle school all
- 26:36the time, no problem. So as they hit the road until they were
- 26:40almost out of money. Now, once they were at the end of those
- 26:42funds, they used the little that they had left to hop on a bus
- 26:45to get as far as they could, and this landed them in Lumberton,
- 26:49Texas. So now they've been They started in Oklahoma, been to Arkansas and
- 26:53Louisiana, and now they're in Texas. So they are just making the the
- 26:59full tour. Well they must have been everywhere the carnival as well too,
- 27:03So well, yeah, well, I don't know, it's probably a low
- 27:04I'm sure assuming it's probably a probably just while they travel the country. Then
- 27:08I know they travel, I don't know if they are you sure, were
- 27:11you a corny? There's a town outside of Tampa. I believe there's nothing
- 27:17but carnis but I don't know if that's how the carnivals work back in the
- 27:19seventies. Could they even travel that far with the carnival back then? Oh
- 27:25my no, with horse and buggy, I don't know. Could they I
- 27:29don't know, stear I'm asking the real questions, the hard hitting questions that
- 27:33the listeners expect. Yeah, they want to know about this garage. Hell
- 27:37and uh, while the kids weren't out of the hospital before the funeral,
- 27:44maybe you should do something, I am. I'm asking questions. I'm asking
- 27:48the real questions that the listeners might want to have answers to. Oh my
- 27:52god, I hate you. In Lumberton, they had the bus driver dropped
- 27:56them off in front of a residential home with some woods behind it. Guess
- 28:00back then you could just ask the bus. Nowadays you'd ask the bus driver
- 28:02to drop her and be like, fuck, let's go to the bus stop.
- 28:04Yeah, going to the bus stop you. I guess back then they
- 28:07were a little bit more customer service oriented. Remember they stake and they're like,
- 28:11yeah, I want you yeah right there? Yea. What is ginger
- 28:15doing to that one guy in the back of the bus. We gotta get
- 28:17them. I wonder what Ginger was doing for her transportation anyway. Yeah,
- 28:23they never got into the whole relationship of what ginger, Ache and Hatch um
- 28:30the whole. I don't know whether there was romance or not romance. I
- 28:33don't know what that relationship was. Well, Ginger stayed in the woods while
- 28:37Ache and Hatch broke into the home. They waited there until the homeowners arrived.
- 28:42It was a man and his friend. They attacked both the men and
- 28:47bound them just like they had done what the douglasses. They ransacked the house.
- 28:51Then they shot the two men in the back of the head with the
- 28:53sawt off shotgun, and then they exited the home, hopped in the homeowner.
- 29:00There's doubts in two at Z. And then they grabbed Ginger and headed
- 29:03off with a little bit of money they got from the home invasion. Now
- 29:07you're driving to two at Ez. You don't know nothing about that. It's
- 29:11a sporty little car. I think it's like a two sitter. There might
- 29:12have been a little hatchback in the back, but I don't know. I
- 29:18don't know where they put Ginger. Ginger probably was willingly sitting on someone's lap.
- 29:22Think yes. Anyways, So now they've committed there you're talking about the
- 29:25damn car, Stewart, they've committed another set of murder. Stewart, no
- 29:29people are they they've committed. They've killed two more innocent people. So now
- 29:33their count is up to four on this rampage they've been on. So the
- 29:38Lumberton police did not link the murders to the ones in Oklahoma. Obviously,
- 29:44this is the seventies and they're not going to be have that kind of And
- 29:47plus they changed up the car situation that that car was the thing that was
- 29:51connecting everything. That Chevy, that yellow Chevy Malibu with the primer spots was
- 29:56the thing connecting. And so now that's gone. This could be any home
- 30:00invasion at this point. I mean, this is pretty pretty standard MO to
- 30:04tie somebody up and then mardyline. I guess, I don't know. I'm
- 30:08not a I don't know. Why are you saying a standard? I feel
- 30:11like it's standard iMOS. Dude, if you say some of their murder,
- 30:18did you lose your spot? I lost my spot a long time. Okay,
- 30:22now police, it is relationship. Maybe police did know that a car
- 30:29was missing, so they put a bolo out on the two ADZ. Now
- 30:33BOLO stands for be on the lookout caral in case you were wondering. Now,
- 30:40the Deadly Trio decided to head out west to California, then ended up
- 30:44in Whyoming and they were there looking for wild field work up there. That's
- 30:48they're tried and true thing to make money is they follow the oil. They're
- 30:51like, okay, we can't we're out of cash. But but and oil
- 30:55right back. Then you could walk up and they just hire you on the
- 30:57spot. They don't care. They don't look into you, they don't they
- 31:00don't even care if they know your real name or not. They're just like,
- 31:02here, get to work, get to work, as long as you
- 31:04can get out there and do what what we're paying you to do. Yes.
- 31:10Now, they were staying in a town huh put a hole in the
- 31:12ground. Now, they were staying in a town called bags, Wyoming.
- 31:18They were in a bar. Akie got drunk. Oh Akie. He's the
- 31:22one that's always causing freaking problems. I think they're all causing problems to well,
- 31:26they're specifically the worst one of the group. He causes the sea.
- 31:32He's the one that sends his plate back at the restaurant. I ordered this
- 31:34medium rare. This is definitely medium. Well, he's the one that fired
- 31:38the shotgun and got him fired from the car. Is the wild card,
- 31:42isn't he? Yeah? Out of the three wild cards, he's the wild
- 31:45one. If there was three village idiots traveling together, he'd be the idiot
- 31:51of that group. Yeah. Now, so what he did was he got
- 31:55into a fight with Ginger. It was verbal, and then he slapped her
- 31:59and laughed. So Ginger got really upset and she started telling the bartender everything
- 32:05that they had done. The bartender called the police and they started looking for
- 32:08the men, but they were already gone. Now, in November twentieth,
- 32:14a little over a month since the Douglases were murdered, an elderly rancher named
- 32:19Mike Pondela arrived at the sheriff's department in Craig, Colorado, saying he had
- 32:23just been held hostage for several hours. The sheriff had some photos of Ake
- 32:29and Hatch from that nationwide bolo and he showed them to Mike, who said
- 32:32that those were the guys who held him hostage. Now, they asked Mike
- 32:36what happened and how he escaped because he's just showing up at this sheriff's department,
- 32:39like, well, what how did you get here? He said that
- 32:43the two men broke into his home, and Okay, guys, I'll be
- 32:45honest with you, I almost didn't put this in here because I thought,
- 32:49well, this is too far. I can't you're like Quentin Tarantino. Yeah,
- 32:54I'm like, I actually did not type this in here because I thought
- 32:58this is too much for I mean, talk a lot about people being murdered
- 33:00and stuff. So they broke into the home and they killed his dog as
- 33:05a warning, which I felt was just and it's just not me. Stu
- 33:09said that Quentin Tarantino won't kill a dog in his movies because it's like too
- 33:15far. Yeah, the guy that made pulp fiction reservoir Dogs. Yeah,
- 33:20very violent movies. It was not going to kill not even have a animal
- 33:24get hit by a car or something. Yeah. Anyway, So but I
- 33:28did put it in there because it is part of the story. But yes,
- 33:30it's very upsetting that he did kill the dog. I also just listened
- 33:35to a podcast where it was this um. It was called It's called Finding
- 33:39the or looking for the Tote Family or something, and it was a story
- 33:45I had never heard. But anyways, this the husband killed his family,
- 33:47but then he also killed the dog named Breezy, and the reporter kept going,
- 33:52I don't know why everyone was so focused on like that he killed the
- 33:53dog and it's just something different though. People are like, why why killed
- 33:58the dog? You know, it's just anyways, But so he kills the
- 34:04dog as a warning to Mike. So Mike, not knowing what to do,
- 34:07he decides to be nice to the men and offers them some beer.
- 34:10So they drank so much that they passed out, and that was when he
- 34:14was able to escape these fuckers. So the sheriff began to put a plan
- 34:19together to arrest the men. They believed that they were still at the ranch
- 34:21house. They believed that they were armed and heavily so between what they had
- 34:25brought with them and what Mike hat in his home. Because Mike's got this
- 34:30ranch out there in the middle of Colorado. You know, he's armed to
- 34:32the tea out there. He got guns upon guns. Okay, well he
- 34:37was Stewart, Sure he's got some raffles. So anyway, so after assembling
- 34:40a team the next day, they go to arrest them men. Yes,
- 34:45as they approached the home, and the two men jumped out. As they
- 34:47approached a home, the two men they jumped out of a window. Well.
- 34:51Authorities were able to catch them on foot, and they were arrested and
- 34:53finally taken into custody. After this months long robbery and killing spree that they've
- 35:00been on, where's Ginger? Ginger? I don't know Ginger should be arrested.
- 35:05I don't know what happened to Ginger. Yes, I guess someone probably
- 35:10should have researched that would happened to Ginger. The men were brought back to
- 35:15Alreno, Oklahoma, where Aki wanted to speak to police about what they had
- 35:20done. There's Aki again. On Thanksgiving Day, nineteen seventy nine. Aki
- 35:24admits to shooting the Douglases and that he was in charge the whole time.
- 35:30He said, Hatch ain't not done this, He ain't had no guts to
- 35:34do it. He took a complete blame for both killings in Oklahoma and the
- 35:39ones in Texas. He said that Hatch was just going along to get along.
- 35:45Aki asked for the death penalty by lethal injection. This is all in
- 35:50his interview. Yeah, this is He's just like just give it to him
- 35:55shot going off at the carnival two. I'm the I'm the reason and I
- 36:00shout the dowg. Yeah. Still what too far? Mek, You went
- 36:05too far? Do you not think Ankie's the one that did that? I
- 36:09do believe Hatch might just be like, oh my god, what did I
- 36:13get myself into. There's always one if the duo, there's always one that's
- 36:17in charge, the really crazy one and the one that's just kind of like,
- 36:21uh, if I don't do this, he might kill me. Not
- 36:23not excusing Hatch. Hatch is a terrible person too. They both deserve to
- 36:28die, yes, they do. Now. It seemed to be an open
- 36:30and shut case. Police had the man in custody, with evidence on them
- 36:35and statements made to the police, but when it came time to plead in
- 36:40court, they both pleaded not guilty, so both of them would go to
- 36:45trial. You know, this is the of all the damage that they caused
- 36:49to all these families and trauma, you know, traumatizing everything. The least
- 36:53they could have done, these killers, they could do it, just plead
- 36:57guilty and stop putting people through this whole charade of all these trials and everything
- 37:02like, yeah, because they're going to drag people through the mud, and
- 37:07yeah, I mean over and all. Well, we all know that you
- 37:10did it. I mean everyone knows you did it. Why why do this?
- 37:15Why revictimize the family by putting him through all this? It's the lowest
- 37:19of lows. Now, Hatch went on trial first, and despite Ache saying
- 37:22that he did not kill anyone and he was not in charge, it was
- 37:27found that Hatch actually picked out the Douglas home and pushed to go on additional
- 37:30robbery. So while he wasn't actively killing anyone, he was he actually was
- 37:36kind of the person encouraging this behavior. Now, during the trial, Brooks
- 37:40and Leslie went on the stand to testify against Hatch. In the end,
- 37:45Hatch was found guilty and sentenced to death. Upnext was Achy. Are we
- 37:49pronouncing a key or Ache? I think it's Ache. You've been saying Akey,
- 37:53You've been saying Aki. Now I just said a key, it's Ache.
- 37:57He was very different than Hatch. Ache was very volatile and aggressive.
- 38:00He was under heavy security the whole time as they were afraid he might try
- 38:04to escape. Now again, Brooks and Leslie testified against Ache. After two
- 38:08hours of deliberations. He was found guilty and was sentenced to death. Both
- 38:13were taken to McCallister State Prison. But this would not be the end of
- 38:15the trials for Hatch an Ache. Now it would not, because in nineteen
- 38:20eighty three, the US Supreme Court ruled on a case out of Florida involving
- 38:23aggravated circumstances for the death penalty to be allowed. Way to Go Supreme Court
- 38:30the way to go. This ruling brought Hat bought Hatch more time. His
- 38:35sentence was vacated twice. However, a judge reinstated his death sendant, saying
- 38:40that if this case doesn't fit heinous, atrocious and cruel, I don't know
- 38:45what would. He said. The crime was wicked and shocklingly cruel, showing
- 38:50indifference in the suffering of others. Hatch went back to death row, but
- 38:54Akey was filing appeals himself. Now I think that I was trying to he
- 39:00searched what the From what I understood, the Supreme Court ruling was that to
- 39:04get the death penalty, it needed to be aggravating circumstances. It couldn't just
- 39:07be you killed someone. It had to be particularly like they said, heinous
- 39:13or something like that, and that's where they were able to get these sentences
- 39:19vacated and then have to go back in front of a judge. On November
- 39:22seventh, nineteen eighty four, a Key's legal team argued in front of the
- 39:25US Supreme Court that he deserved a new trial, and in February of nineteen
- 39:30eighty five, they ruled in a Key's favor. Come on Supreme Court.
- 39:35The court said that the Constitution requires that a defendant have access to psychiatric examination
- 39:39and assistance necessary to prepare an effective defense based on mental condition when sanity at
- 39:49the time of the offense is seriously in question. At the time of the
- 39:52original trial, the state did not provide a psychiatrist paid for by the state.
- 39:58Brooks and Leslie would have to testify again to keep Anky behind bars.
- 40:02Yeah, all these all these rulings and stuff like that. I understand we're
- 40:07trying to we're following the rule of law and all this stuff like that,
- 40:10laws and shit like that, but it never takes into account the victims and
- 40:16what they have to go through, you know, having to go and have
- 40:21to testify again for this fucker after you thought he was done and dusted off
- 40:25to the death penalty. You go now. In February of nineteen eighty six,
- 40:30the new trial began, now played not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.
- 40:36Brooks and Leslie testified, as well as others who had arrived at the scene
- 40:39after the murders. They also played the recordings of the confession back in nineteen
- 40:44seventy nine. The defense brought forward three psychiatrists who claimed he was insane on
- 40:47the day of the murders and that he did not know right from wrong.
- 40:52These psych I, I mean, they're idiots because from what I understood,
- 40:57it's very difficult to get not guilty by reason of insanity, very very difficult.
- 41:04His his state of mind. He was on drugs and alcohol. That's
- 41:06not insane. That's anyways, this could have been back because they've been gone
- 41:10through these weird cycles of stupid shit back back in the eighties. I want
- 41:16to say it was the repressed memories stuff. And basically what it was was
- 41:22psychiatrists were telling these people that if something traumatic happened to them, they could
- 41:28be repressing it, and that's what was called the never they never remembered it,
- 41:31that it would even happen. Yeah, So then the psychiatrists would like
- 41:35lead them into this. It was usually almost like leading the witnesses pretty much,
- 41:38and it was usually turned out to be like a sexual assault when they
- 41:42were kids from a relative, father, mother or some sort, not saying
- 41:46that this can't happen. It was just a big thing, yeah, because
- 41:51they tied it into PTSD and the PTSD was causing them to repress this memory
- 41:54from whatever. So all these false accusations started happening against family members. And
- 42:00then finally with all this crap going like it, it just spread like wildfire
- 42:05and then people are, man, we gotta we gotta reevaluate this. And
- 42:08then they were like, well, maybe a repressed memories is not a thing.
- 42:13Well, repressed memories is a thing. It can be a thing,
- 42:15but it's not as it's not as prevalent as they as people were, well
- 42:21just started exploding. It started spreading like wildfire. Everybody thought they had repressed
- 42:24memories of something happening to them, but they were all wrong, well not
- 42:29all of them, I'm sure some wrong obviously, Kara obviously, or someone's
- 42:34gonna write and be like I had a repressed memory back in the eighties and
- 42:37Stuart's an idiot and you guys sucking, We're gonna cancel you guys. Well,
- 42:39if that kind of person is listening and they're that that sensitive, so
- 42:45stop jesus, oh my god. Anyway, anyways, and now that we
- 42:52have three listeners now instead of ten, let's continue on. Let us do
- 42:57yees. So the ci psychia just claimed that he was insane on the day
- 43:00of the murders. So Ake played the part of the mentally ill person.
- 43:05So instead of this hothead like confidence self that was he was at his first
- 43:08trial because he went in like, oh, you know, I'm aggressive,
- 43:12I'm like the shit, everything like that. All of a sudden, he's
- 43:15got his head hung low, never looks up one time, grew his hair
- 43:19out, looked like what a typical mental patient you would see that was drugged
- 43:23out, you know, just has their head hang down to the Well.
- 43:28It didn't work because in the end, the jury did find him guilty of
- 43:30murder, but only sentenced him to life in prison instead of the death penalty.
- 43:34Well, you know, another fad that the psychiatrist had way back before
- 43:37that was front a lobotomy where they take that ice pec stick it in your
- 43:40eye and give you maybe they should have gave him a from the lobotomy to
- 43:45effects him, brought the lobotomies back. He could have started a new trend.
- 43:50Now, the family and community were shocked by this sentencing because they really
- 43:53and everyone can have their feelings about the death penalt and everything. But if
- 43:57the family that if the family that that this happened to, would like them
- 44:02to have the death penalty, then who am I to tell you that you're
- 44:07wrong? You know? What I'm saying is to if the family that this
- 44:10happened to would rather them not have the death penalty and would rather them serve
- 44:14a life sentence because that's just how they feel about it, who am I
- 44:17to tell you this isn't happening, Because if this motherfucker gets paroled for something,
- 44:22it could be my family next that gets murdered. So I don't care
- 44:27what your wishes are, if you think he ought to be let out or
- 44:30whatever. And we just lost the last three Listen, we have heard the
- 44:32things about what the it was. Was it The last case we did where
- 44:37it was seven years was considered life in prison and the guy was up for
- 44:39parole after that because it was only seven years back at the time, he
- 44:44was sentenced or whatever. Anyways, now, like when we're telling you in
- 44:47the League of Battles, continued and continued and continued. All in all,
- 44:52Brooks and Leslie had to tell their story nine times just to keep Achy and
- 44:58Hatch in prison, which is a Travis. Yeah, so it was pretty
- 45:00much traumatized at each time they did it. They had to go back for
- 45:04however many days they had to testify, answer questions from the prosecution, then
- 45:08being cross examined, Yeah, by the defense, like the prosecutions your friend
- 45:13over there, asking you just to tell the facts, and then defense is
- 45:15trying to break holes in all your stories and it's like, we've already told
- 45:19this multiple times. These fuckers did this, Like why are we here?
- 45:21This is ridiculous. Yeah, and you know at this point they're just some
- 45:24sleeves bald defense attorneys like you were twelve, but you were mature. You
- 45:29wanted it didn't end. Stewart. I hate these defense attorneys that are all
- 45:34like, no, you don't what These motherfuckers didn't were this far. I
- 45:37don't think they said that. I don't think they did, but I wouldn't
- 45:40put it past these guys to say some shit like that. Because they some
- 45:44of these attorneys do get pretty sleazy. Are the ones whenever the guys raped
- 45:47the girl and he's like, well, she was she was drinking too much
- 45:51though, wasn't she was? She did she really say no? Or well
- 45:54it's like that the girl that died and it was really bad. Yeah,
- 46:00his defense hit Their defense attorney's like, well, had she lived, it
- 46:02wouldn't have been considered sexual assault. Yeah, it's only because she died,
- 46:07and it's like what a sleaves ball. Anyway, Basically she was, wouldn't
- 46:12she She was? She was very integrated, but the guys raped her.
- 46:16She rubbed the back of the car and they raped her. They threw her
- 46:20out on the street, and then she got hit by a car because trying
- 46:23to cross the street. To be sorry, she got drunk. She was
- 46:27three times a legal limit stumbling into the street, someone hit her. The
- 46:30guy actually stopped to help her, and they found out that she had been
- 46:35raped by the guys and then basically thrown on the street, super super drunk.
- 46:38Yeah, they met her at a bar, kept buying her drinks and
- 46:43then they tried to make it. And he said that this would have just
- 46:45been a consensual sexual act if if she hadn't got hit by the car.
- 46:51So yeah, that's how low some of these I understand. We all need
- 46:54a defense attorney. And if I was accused of killing Stewart, and I
- 46:58definitely probably did it, but to get off, I would really appreciate what.
- 47:02Yes, but sometimes they just make your skin crawl. Yes they did.
- 47:07Now during this time of going to trials and testifying against these clowns and
- 47:13times that she's not in court, Leslie went on to college, graduated with
- 47:17a master's degree, and became a teacher and then a principal. She had
- 47:22two children of Rome now Brooks. After struggling through college, finally did graduate
- 47:27and went on to law school. After graduating, he decided to run for
- 47:30the Oklahoma State Senate. His platform was victim victims' rights and he wanted to
- 47:37change the system after what he and his sister had gone through. He was
- 47:42able to get legislation passed to help protect victims in the legal system. In
- 47:46February nineteen ninety five, Brooks went on a tour of the McAllister State Penitentiary,
- 47:52where both Aki and Hatch were being held. He decided he wanted to
- 47:55speak to Aki Akie agreed. Brooks said he decided to forgive Aki, and
- 48:01he said Aki was remorseful and tearing up. I don't give a fuck,
- 48:06dude. I know I've never been in the situation, but I'd have a
- 48:10real hard time the eye for the eye guy. Now, But they were.
- 48:15They did grow up very religious, so I mean I grew up very
- 48:19religious as well. But I'm still but you're an eye for an eye.
- 48:22I'm still like, let's stab the motherfucker. You're going all Old Testament on
- 48:24a mother. Oh, I'm Old Testament for sure, for sure. Now.
- 48:29Brooks tried to meet with Hatch after his meeting with Aki, but Hatch
- 48:31refused. Piece of shit. Hatch, Well, yeah, the Hatch,
- 48:36the supposed, oh, the innocent guy, you didn't kill anybody. He
- 48:39was the one that was actually the asshole that wouldn't even give the Brooks guy,
- 48:44the um the respect to go and meet him after he asked. He
- 48:50wouldn't even go do that anyway. They did attend hatches clemency hearing, where
- 48:55Hatch seemed unremorseful and even denied raping Leslie. He was denied clemency and on
- 49:02August ninth, nineteen ninety six, with Brooks and Leslie witnessing he was put
- 49:07to death in the McAllister State Penitentiary. Yeah, Leslie was more of I
- 49:14don't know if she was extreme as us, but she didn't really understand.
- 49:17She couldn't be in the headspace of like I forgive these people and stuff like
- 49:22that, and it really hurt her. Whenever he wouldn't even at the clemency
- 49:28admit that he raped her, he still denied that whole thing. When she's
- 49:31sitting right there and knows what happened, and she she just thought that was
- 49:37just the lowest to not even admit your wrongdoings at that point in time,
- 49:42say you know what, I did this and it was really bad. Oh
- 49:44mammy, he called himself. He didn't do it it, He just watched
- 49:46the other guy do it, and then he didn't participate. Some people,
- 49:50I know, I mean, some people are just why do you always whatever?
- 49:52Why you always got to play devil's advocate over that. That's what I
- 49:54do until I'm the devil, Oh Jesus now old Hatch. He did not
- 50:04make a final statement, but he did leave a note saying that the people
- 50:07that judged him were barbaric and evil. Yeah, so it's really ironic that
- 50:13he thinks that everyone else's barbaric for judging him when he's the one that did
- 50:16all these things. And now I'm starting to believe was the mastermind behind all
- 50:20of it, and that Ache was just as he was, the one that
- 50:23was Ache was the puppet and because he actually felt, yeah, he seemed
- 50:29to feel bad for his re actions. And I mean, I don't care
- 50:31if he felt bad or not. I still think he's should die or whatever.
- 50:35But anyway, so after three terms in the Senate, Brooks left and
- 50:39moved to California, where he met a woman and had two children. Now
- 50:44Brooks went on to write and produce a movie called Heaven's Rain in twenty ten,
- 50:47starring Aran Manning and Mike Vogel, as well as Brooks and his sister
- 50:52Leslie. Now Ache died in prison on April twenty third, twenty eleven,
- 50:57of natural causes. Brooks moved to Texas, US, and sadly, in
- 51:00May of twenty twenty, he passed away from cancer at the age of fifty
- 51:04six. Leslie still alive from what I understand from your research, from my
- 51:08research, Steward. But yeah, there's a movie you can watch that they
- 51:12made over this, this whole this whole thing that they've gone through. They
- 51:15made a whole movie about it that we can we can watch along with what
- 51:21was that other movie we were supposed to watch that we watch halfway? I
- 51:23got halfway through and got tired and went to bed. Oh about that?
- 51:27We started it, like we recorded this podcast. We talked about it,
- 51:30and then we decided rant the movie. You rant the movie, watch it,
- 51:35which is a bad idea because we record this this at night after our
- 51:37children go to sleep, so it's already late. Renting a movie and trying
- 51:43to watch it. It's not a good ideat But what was the movie?
- 51:45Can? Oh? Yeah? It was about the the y'all need Jesus.
- 51:51We did so anyways, but um, all right, do you have a
- 51:55y'all need Jesus to speaking of? Well, yes I did. Would you
- 51:59like to hear it? Yes? I would? All right? All right.
- 52:01The story comes to us from twenty twelve in September. Here's the headline.
- 52:07Kent Okay, Florida, not Florida. I'm Jack Sparrow. Drunk woman
- 52:13claimed she was a pirate as she hijacked a passenger ferry and floated away from
- 52:17police. Florida, a drunk woman claimed she was a pirate as she hijacked
- 52:25a passenger ferry and floated away from police while shouting, I'm Jack Sparrow,
- 52:30Alison Wheel and fifty one stole the one I gotta get regretted. Go girl,
- 52:37you you still live in life at fifty one now? She stole the
- 52:42one hundred seat ferry on the river Dark and Devin England, Oh England.
- 52:46My yes, I would have never guessed it. I would have never well,
- 52:51I had to look it up. My second guess would have been California.
- 52:54I was thinking, like Disneyland, Disney World, Jack Sparrow, and
- 52:58where do they be? Just you know, I guess Kia Knightling was in
- 53:01there, and she's got a British accent. Would you Jack Sparrow of a
- 53:04British accent? I don't know what coming up. He was doing a drunk
- 53:07accent in that moment. Oh he was. That's just his regular accent though.
- 53:10I think you know he's from like Tennessee or whatever. He needs to
- 53:14He's like Madonna, he needs to give up the goat, like we get
- 53:15it, okay, thank you. Madonna went through her stupid thing with our
- 53:20English whatever act. That's what I'm saying. They're from the south like,
- 53:22let's like, let's just embrace it, like Reese Witherspoon. Let's not pretend
- 53:25where something we're not, I mean, spaken to England. Can one of
- 53:30our English listeners UK over there? England, Great Britain or UK or what
- 53:37are you? What are your requesting, Stuart? Come get your parents and
- 53:39your princess. Oh, come pick him up? Why we're tired of him.
- 53:44We don't want him here, Harry and Megan. Oh, well some
- 53:49people want him. Who I don't know people anyway, when any royalty over
- 53:54here? Now we have the Kardashians, Okay, anyway, Devin or Diva
- 54:00or whatever. I'm sure it's Devon and it's in southwest England. It's at
- 54:06the name of the town or a person. The river Dart is in Devon,
- 54:08England. Okay, I don't think it's de Vaughn. O. Hell
- 54:14this, I visited, but I have no idea. I did not.
- 54:17I had went to geographically you went to Devon. I did not. But
- 54:22what'd you say you visited? I said I visited England. Oh, yes,
- 54:27I've been with you, Stuart. Yes, well, I've been one
- 54:29more time than you, So suck it, Mitch, You suck it,
- 54:30Mitch. Anyway, where was I hundred cedar? I also don't think they're
- 54:37princes and princesses anymore. Just fy, I think they were announced your whatever
- 54:43of sussexes, your suck ass sucks he's whatever they call them, kind kind
- 54:50of contening with my story? Yeah, now is this gonna be like my
- 54:52my whole George Jones one that you run. No, we've literally lost all
- 54:57that. We had one listener left, and now you just just did it
- 54:59in with the whole. Let's get rid of the prince and princess over here.
- 55:04Well, evidently they're not real prince and princess anymore. I think they
- 55:07think they got rid of all that or whatever because they wanted to be free.
- 55:13Can I finish? Yes? Please? She had been drinking lambrining,
- 55:20which I have no clue what it is, and eating deadly plant called nightshade
- 55:24for two days, Oh nightshade, causing her whose name? She shouted Jack,
- 55:30I'm Jack Sparrow and I'm a pirate. After she unmoored the Dark Princess
- 55:34passenger ferry, which is a forty five foot vessel who witnessed her yelling this
- 55:39with her companion Tristam Locke from the Kingswear Pontoon, and they set up up
- 55:46river, up the river the hair. The pair could be heard laughing and
- 55:51shouting from the deck what are you gonna do now? And I believe this
- 55:54is out of your jurisdiction. We import them into the United States and deport
- 56:01the Prince and princess, because I would definitely take these two, these two
- 56:06jokers, yes now, wheeling of they sound like a fun paid Pagnanton Devon
- 56:12was sent uced to one hundred and twelve days in jail for the in incident,
- 56:15which saw the ferry bumping into other boats like a pinball machine and a
- 56:19police chase that lasted an hour more than thirty ambulance, Police, Coastguard and
- 56:24r n L. I I don't know what that is Royal Navy. I'm
- 56:29going they were drafted in during the incident. Torquay Magistrates Court in Devin heard
- 56:38this is a little wordy speaking that you continue on? Why yes I do?
- 56:45Speaking after the hearing, PC Claire Pearson said, this lady put police,
- 56:49ambulance and Coastguard to an awful lot of trouble shout it read this in
- 56:52an English accent. Okay. The amount of people called out to recover the
- 56:59b and the damage caused to other vessels made it quite an expensive night before
- 57:05the duo unmoored de boat Wheelan who is a chronic alcoholic awaiting a liver transplant
- 57:12called par You don't get one of those. If you start drinking, you
- 57:15get moved off the list. If we've learned anything from Scrubs, it's that
- 57:20you cannot drink if you were on the liver transplant list. No, not
- 57:24even a little bit a champagne at your daughter's wedding. You cannot say that
- 57:30because you will get moved off the list, because there are strict rules as
- 57:32to if you're going to get one of these organs. Well, I don't
- 57:36know how she's waiting the liver transplant. Well she called paramedicferent rules in the
- 57:40UK. We don't know. They might they you know who they should have
- 57:45called to get this under control. Black Beard, he's dead. No black
- 57:50Beards? Who even got Jack Sparrow and send him off to Davy Jones's lock
- 57:55it locker, locker, Jesus, I can't even deal with you, how
- 58:01many of those you had. I've just had this whatever the Lambardini is in
- 58:07some nightshade, well wheeling. She called paramedics in the early hours of September
- 58:13tenth last year, which would be twenty eleven, after fairying. She was
- 58:17having a seizure. Paramedics said they found the defendant rambling and obviously drunk,
- 58:24while Locke became abusive and pushed over one of the medics. Ambulance technician Peter
- 58:30Jordan said he and his colleague awaited in their vehicles a few yards away from
- 58:36the fairy for police to arrive. Smart move. As they watched through the
- 58:42wing mirror, the fairy started to move, he said, we saw it
- 58:45drifting down the estuary. Man, they got all kinds of fancy words.
- 58:50Fancy words in this story. I heard a female voice saying that they were
- 58:54pirates and they were asking, what are we going to do now? Is
- 59:00that it's Stewart? Is this over? Can this? It can be?
- 59:04It probably should? Okay, let's be done. Okay, I mean some
- 59:07crazy drunk ass bitches stole up, stole up thing, cause some damage to
- 59:12call themselves Jack Sparrow and spend one hundred and twelve days in jail, and
- 59:16hopefully she sobered up in that time and she's back on the liver transplant list.
- 59:22I doubt she's probably dead ten years now. She is married to Prince
- 59:27Harry. Damn, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Everything's fine. Anyways,
- 59:34Well, I saw the south Park episode, which is like a documentary on
- 59:37them. Okay, so that's where I'm coming from. Okay, I mean
