Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on today's show, we're going to give you
- 0:02Speaker 1: a stat that'll show you how much Dak Prescott sucks
- 0:05Speaker 1: at playing quarterback.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and also how much you suck at analyzing football
- 0:11Speaker 2: if you haven't figured.
- 0:12Speaker 3: That out already. Now roll the intro.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Coming to you live from Philly. It's the number one
- 0:23Speaker 1: rated Polly and Tony Fusco show.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yo, yo, yo.
- 0:28Speaker 1: As always, Polly Fusco here with Tony Fusco and Tony.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yo. Huge show today.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We're going to tell you about an NFL ruling that
- 0:38Speaker 1: truly changes everything, you know? And we're also going to
- 0:40Speaker 1: give you Tony's week two predictions at the end of
- 0:44Speaker 1: the show in order to maximize our YouTube watch time.
- 0:46Speaker 1: But hold on a moment, Tony. Our producer, On my
- 0:50Speaker 1: screen here. Once again, not in his studio because, you know,
- 0:54Speaker 1: he doesn't know how to actually do his job.
- 0:56Speaker 3: What's he doing? Show up at a work. Where the
- 0:58Speaker 3: hell are you? Where are you?
- 1:00Speaker 4: I'm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Oh, good.
- 1:05Speaker 3: You finally got deported.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 3: My only worry is that they're going to send them
- 1:09Speaker 3: back here, you know?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 3: What are you doing in Argentina?
- 1:14Speaker 4: I'm recording the show. The rest is none of your business.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Maybe he went to Argentina because he got rejected by
- 1:22Speaker 1: every single woman in North America, you know?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they're going to have to rename the country Virgentina.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Oh, good one, Dodie. Anyway, let's just ignore him because,
- 1:33Speaker 1: you know, we got so much to get to. But
- 1:35Speaker 1: before that, you know, this is to you out there.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Don't be like our lazy producer. Do your job. Rate
- 1:41Speaker 1: and review this show right now on Apple Podcasts. And also,
- 1:44Speaker 1: you got to like on YouTube, subscribe, and hype.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Right, Dodie? They got to hype.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Hype.
- 1:50Speaker 2: You know, the opposite of what people feel when they
- 1:52Speaker 2: see our producer.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Anyway, all right. Enough of that. Let's get right into
- 1:58Speaker 1: our top story. First out the gate, the Eagles coming
- 2:03Speaker 1: out strong, defeating the Commanders by a decisive score of 24-22.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Wasn't even close. Wasn't even close.
- 2:11Speaker 3: No.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But the story we got to start with, the Cowboys,
- 2:14Speaker 1: they lost to the Giants, the same team they lost
- 2:18Speaker 1: to in week 18 of last season. So they just
- 2:21Speaker 1: basically picked up right where they left off, didn't they, Tony?
- 2:24Speaker 2: You know, it's a real bad look for Dak right
- 2:27Speaker 2: now because he's now on a nine-month losing streak this year. Now,
- 2:32Speaker 2: you may say, what are you talking about? This was
- 2:34Speaker 2: the first game of the year. But that's because you're
- 2:37Speaker 2: dumb and don't know how years work. You see, Dak
- 2:41Speaker 2: played the Giants on January 4th, which if you look
- 2:44Speaker 2: at any calendar, you'll see that January 4th was also
- 2:49Speaker 2: in the year.
- 2:50Speaker 3: 2026, which means he's now lost.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Two consecutive starts this year because it's still 2026 and
- 3:00Speaker 2: he hasn't played in any other games. Meanwhile, you can't
- 3:04Speaker 2: say that about Cowboys practice squad quarterback Joe Milton. Milton
- 3:10Speaker 2: led Dallas to two victories this year in 2026, winning
- 3:15Speaker 2: just as recently as August 22nd. You know, that's only
- 3:19Speaker 2: a few weeks ago. And he even beat the Seahawks,
- 3:23Speaker 2: the reigning Super Bowl champions. So if you ask me,
- 3:28Speaker 2: Joe Milton is clearly the better option at quarterback.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Great points all around that, Tony.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And while we're talking QB play, a so-called controversial ruling
- 3:40Speaker 1: in the Saints-Lions game when people claim that Lions QB
- 3:44Speaker 1: Jared Goff fumbled the ball when.
- 3:47Speaker 3: He was in the backfield.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But, you know, then the refs came in and overruled
- 3:52Speaker 1: it and called it an incomplete pass because the officials said, well,
- 3:56Speaker 1: based on his arm motion, it was clear that he
- 4:00Speaker 1: intended to throw the pass. And that's all that matters. And, well,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I completely agree with this call. Don't you, Tony?
- 4:07Speaker 4: Of course.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Anybody who watches this show, you know, which is everybody,
- 4:12Speaker 2: knows that the NFL keeps a stat called.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Intended air yards.
- 4:17Speaker 2: And that shows you it's not about what actually happens
- 4:21Speaker 2: on a play, but what the quarterback intended to happen
- 4:25Speaker 2: on a play and intending to do something is all
- 4:29Speaker 2: that matters.
- 4:30Speaker 3: You know, I was just having this conversation the other day.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I got this letter in the mail from the IRS
- 4:36Speaker 2: that I'm now under audit for not paying my taxes
- 4:40Speaker 2: for 11 straight years. Well, I turned around and immediately
- 4:44Speaker 2: sent them a note right back saying, I've been intending
- 4:48Speaker 2: to do my taxes and I just haven't gotten around
- 4:52Speaker 2: to doing it yet. So, you know, that's done now
- 4:55Speaker 2: and off my plate.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Yup. Conversation over.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Over.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You know, Tony, I don't think a lot of people
- 5:01Speaker 1: out there are seeing the big picture here, you know,
- 5:04Speaker 1: because I keep checking these.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Sports stat websites, you know, and I don't.
- 5:10Speaker 1: See any stat out there for intended completion percentage, you know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: which would... accurately measure how many passes a quarterback intends
- 5:20Speaker 1: to complete.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Because personally, I think that would be a more accurate reflection.
- 5:25Speaker 1: So I went ahead, Tony. I actually ran the numbers
- 5:28Speaker 1: for intended completion percentage.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Look at this. Jared Goff is actually tied with.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Carson Wentz for number two in intended completion percentage with
- 5:38Speaker 1: an impressive 99.9%.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Wow. But look who's number one. No surprise.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts with an NFL record 100%. Just absolutely perfect
- 5:52Speaker 1: intentions all the time.
- 5:53Speaker 3: All the time.
- 5:54Speaker 1: On the subject, we just mentioned Carson Wentz. You know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: he stepped in for the Vikings after Kyla Murray went
- 6:01Speaker 1: down with an injury because, you know, he's tiny. And
- 6:04Speaker 1: Wentz led Minnesota to a victory over Green Bay. But, Tony, again,
- 6:09Speaker 1: no surprise here. We saw this coming out of Wentz,
- 6:11Speaker 1: didn't we?
- 6:13Speaker 2: What's the most important thing a quarterback can be?
- 6:16Speaker 3: A Super Bowl winner. Yeah, of course.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And as you can clearly see on his Wikipedia page,
- 6:24Speaker 2: Carson Wentz is the Super Bowl winning quarterback. Now, Wentz
- 6:29Speaker 2: knows the feeling of what it's like to win a
- 6:31Speaker 2: Super Bowl.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah, even though he experienced.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It while stretched out on a hospital bed and watching
- 6:37Speaker 2: it on a 20-inch TV that was mounted on the
- 6:39Speaker 2: corner of the ceiling.
- 6:41Speaker 3: But shame on you.
- 6:42Speaker 2: If you say that doesn't count because there are many
- 6:46Speaker 2: ways to win a Super Bowl. And according to Wikipedia,
- 6:49Speaker 2: that's clearly one of them.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You know, when you think about it, that's actually a
- 6:54Speaker 1: more impressive way to win a Super Bowl, you know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: because Carson Wentz was.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Injured, immobile, hospitalized, you know, near death.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And yet he still figured out a path to victory.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That's called the will to win, Tony, you know, being
- 7:10Speaker 1: healthy and on the field, able to play.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Well, that's easy.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Anybody can do that. But winning when you're injured, can't walk.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yep.
- 7:19Speaker 3: That's rarefied A, you know? Absolutely. Couldn't agree more.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yep.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And, you know, another QB we have to give our
- 7:27Speaker 1: props to as well.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Caleb Williams.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yep.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Four total TDs, beating the Panthers 59-37, the highest combined
- 7:35Speaker 1: week one score ever in NFL history.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Again, Tony, you know, we saw this coming too, didn't we?
- 7:42Speaker 3: 100%.
- 7:42Speaker 2: We've been waiting for Caleb Williams to come out this season.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yep.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And he came out strong.
- 7:50Speaker 2: The way he was throwing those balls all over the field,
- 7:53Speaker 2: trying to get those balls to every open receiver he
- 7:57Speaker 2: could find, finding those holes and penetrating them. That was
- 8:01Speaker 2: just pure Caleb Williams doing what he loves most. And
- 8:05Speaker 2: it was clear the Panthers D wasn't too big for
- 8:08Speaker 2: him to handle and that he could handle even bigger D's.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I just hope he has the protection that he needs.
- 8:15Speaker 3: You know, the offensive line.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yep.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Terrific analysis, Tony.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And now to Aaron Rodgers, who went on a podcast
- 8:23Speaker 1: and claimed that his ex-fiancee, Shailene Woodley, when they were
- 8:28Speaker 1: about to get married, she told him before that that
- 8:32Speaker 1: she needed to first, well, make love to another guy.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Now, a lot of people had a problem with this.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I didn't. Did you, Tony? No, not at all.
- 8:41Speaker 2: You know, frankly, this just shows that Shailene Woodley understands
- 8:45Speaker 2: how football works. and also relationship history. He's good for
- 8:59Speaker 2: maybe one year tops before he gets hurt, either physically or.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Emotionally, and can't perform.
- 9:06Speaker 2: You know, Shailene had to scout a backup, and frankly,
- 9:10Speaker 2: I want to know who the other guy was, because
- 9:13Speaker 2: if I had to guess, it would be Nick Foles, because.
- 9:17Speaker 3: You know, you know. Say no more, Tony.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Anyway, to some football media news, people were complaining about
- 9:27Speaker 1: the CBS pregame show because in the middle of talking
- 9:31Speaker 1: about football, they suddenly turned and started talking about Arby's
- 9:34Speaker 1: Steak Nuggets for two minutes right in the middle of
- 9:37Speaker 1: the show.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Now, You know, people were saying, as they should, that
- 9:41Speaker 1: this was gross, obvious promotion.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I happen to agree. Don't you, Tony? Of course.
- 9:47Speaker 2: When you do sponsored content, you have to be subtle.
- 9:52Speaker 2: You know, you have to bake it right into the
- 9:55Speaker 2: show so the audience doesn't even know that it's happening.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Reminds me.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Of these, you know, perfectly baked Ritz crackers, you know?
- 10:03Speaker 3: Just coarse. Great for any occasion. Any occasion.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Especially when you're... Talking football on a show and just
- 10:10Speaker 1: want a great.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Baked treat, you know? Exactly.
- 10:13Speaker 2: And also a lot like these baked lays. What's more
- 10:16Speaker 2: football than sitting with an open bag of baked lays? Which,
- 10:21Speaker 2: by the way, has 50% less salt than a regular
- 10:25Speaker 2: bag of chips.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Couldn't agree more, Tony.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And by the way, just in case you're wondering, both
- 10:32Speaker 1: Ritz and Bake Lays, they're both available in the snack.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Aisle at your local grocer store there.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Yup.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And you know what? You people aren't going to believe
- 10:40Speaker 2: this right now. It's crazy. But what we did right there,
- 10:45Speaker 2: that was an ad. In fact, that was two ads.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, two ads. And you probably didn't even notice. Probably
- 10:51Speaker 3: didn't even notice.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Nope.
- 10:53Speaker 3: That's how you do it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Anyway, one more thing we got to get to hit
- 10:57Speaker 1: college football here because Texas QB Arch Manning had to
- 11:01Speaker 1: apologize for admitting that he laughed at this AI generated
- 11:05Speaker 1: video of Texas coach Steve Sarkeesian slapping ESPN reporter Holly Rowe. And,
- 11:13Speaker 1: you know. Even though the video was clearly fake, I
- 11:17Speaker 1: do think this was a much needed apology.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Don't you, Tony? I totally agree.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You know, it's never okay to laugh at such a
- 11:24Speaker 2: reckless display of graphic violence like that one.
- 11:28Speaker 3: You know, we've seen this situation before.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Like when there were those videos circulating of that roadrunner
- 11:34Speaker 2: doing terrible things to this coyote.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Terrible.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Terrible.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Painting a fake tunnel on the side of the road
- 11:55Speaker 2: that the coyote thinks is a real tunnel and then
- 11:58Speaker 2: smashes into it face first, turning his whole body into
- 12:02Speaker 2: an accordion while the roadrunner just sits there smiling and says, meep, meep,
- 12:07Speaker 2: just not funny at all.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Just not funny in the slightest, Tony. Very well said.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And talking about well said, we'll get ready for this.
- 12:16Speaker 1: We got Tony's week two NFL predictions coming right up.
- 12:21Speaker 3: After the break. All right, we're back from break. Oh,
- 12:28Speaker 3: there it is. You know what that means. It's time
- 12:31Speaker 3: to get out your Fusco bet app. Let's play some
- 12:34Speaker 3: big bets.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Tony is going to give you his can't miss, can't
- 12:38Speaker 1: lose bets for the week with his week two predictions.
- 12:41Speaker 1: All right, Tony, let's get it started with Lions at Bills.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Now that the NFL has ruled that Jared Goff can
- 12:48Speaker 2: get credit for any pass he intends to throw, whether
- 12:52Speaker 2: the ball actually leaves his hands and goes forward or
- 12:56Speaker 2: goes backwards 20 yards, I like the Lions to go
- 13:00Speaker 2: big here.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Lions 87, Bills 12. Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Tua could potentially start, and that's bad news for Atlanta. However,
- 13:14Speaker 2: because his brain is heavily concussed, I see Atlanta using
- 13:18Speaker 2: that to their advantage. On Sunday, they'll tell Tua that
- 13:22Speaker 2: it's actually Saturday and there's no game and he can
- 13:26Speaker 2: sleep in, successfully keeping him off the field. Final score,
- 13:31Speaker 2: Panthers 30, Falcons still only 7.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Vikings at Bears.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I liked how Caleb Williams came out strong last week,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and I think his coming out party will continue. He'll
- 13:45Speaker 2: be hurling his balls all over the place to every
- 13:49Speaker 2: open and eligible receiver he can find. Meanwhile, Super Bowl
- 13:54Speaker 2: champion Carson Wentz, it's in his Wikipedia, look it up,
- 13:58Speaker 2: will do his best. But Caleb Williams will gobble that
- 14:02Speaker 2: big Vikings D right up.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Bears 69, Vikings 30. Steelers at Patriots.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Now that we know Patriots owner Robert Kraft blocked McLemore
- 14:15Speaker 2: from performing at Gillette Stadium, it's clear he can control
- 14:20Speaker 2: who's actually allowed to play there.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And I think there's a strong.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Possibility that he blocks the entire Steelers team from being
- 14:29Speaker 2: allowed inside the stadium. Patriots 3, Steelers 0.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Browns at Buccaneers.
- 14:37Speaker 2: We still can't confirm who will start at quarterback for
- 14:41Speaker 2: the Browns. Not because of Todd Munkin's decisions, but because
- 14:45Speaker 2: we're still not 100% sure if Deshaun Watson is allowed
- 14:49Speaker 2: to cross state lines.
- 14:50Speaker 3: So TBD on this one. Commanders at Cowboys.
- 14:56Speaker 2: If the Cowboys bench Dak Prescott for practice squad quarterback
- 15:00Speaker 2: Joe Milton, who absolutely dominated the preseason, I see the
- 15:05Speaker 2: Cowboys winning 35-6. But if the Cowboys choose to start
- 15:11Speaker 2: Dak Prescott, which would be a bold choice given he's
- 15:14Speaker 2: on a nine-month losing streak, having not won since December 2025,
- 15:18Speaker 2: I see the Commanders winning 35-6.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Six to two.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Eagles at Titans. You know, I'm a little concerned about
- 15:29Speaker 2: this one. Jalen Hurts seemed quite limited in the second
- 15:33Speaker 2: half last week against the Commanders. And Saquon Barkley still
- 15:37Speaker 2: hasn't found his stride and is struggling to gain yardage
- 15:41Speaker 2: like he used to. Also, Landon Dickerson is injured, leaving
- 15:45Speaker 2: a huge hole on the offensive line. And first-round pick
- 15:49Speaker 2: Makai Lemon just looked overwhelmed last week in his rookie debut.
- 15:53Speaker 2: which all leaves some very real concerns about this team. However,
- 15:59Speaker 2: they are playing the Titans who just got blown out
- 16:02Speaker 2: by the Jets. So I predict the final score will
- 16:05Speaker 2: be Eagles 96, Titans 3.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Book it. There you go.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Tony's official week two predictions.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And what a way to wrap up the show. Don't
- 16:19Speaker 3: forget to visit the merch store. Buy all the merch.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Talking about someone I would like to wrap up in
- 16:25Speaker 1: seaweed and dump in the ocean.
- 16:27Speaker 3: In the ocean. Produce a J. What?
- 16:29Speaker 4: Corrections.
- 16:30Speaker 3: What?
- 16:31Speaker 4: Go. You think the NFL is right for saying Jared
- 16:35Speaker 4: Goff didn't fumble the ball because he tended to throw
- 16:38Speaker 4: a forward pass?
- 16:40Speaker 3: Uh, that's the rule, bro. Yeah. Read the rule book.
- 16:44Speaker 4: That doesn't mean it's a good rule. Just because a
- 16:48Speaker 4: quarterback intends to throw a wall that somehow is a pass.
- 16:53Speaker 4: That rule makes no sense.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Well, um, you know what I intend to throw you
- 17:00Speaker 1: off my balcony.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And here's a rule that does make sense. Shut
- 17:06Speaker 2: the fuck up.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Shut up.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Still talking.
- 17:11Speaker 4: What?
- 17:12Speaker 3: He's still going. What?
- 17:13Speaker 4: You said Dak is on a nine-month losing streak because
- 17:17Speaker 4: he lost the game against the Giants last week and
- 17:21Speaker 4: he lost the game to them in January? Yep.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Nine months, bro. Check the calendar, bro.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah. That's not how streaks work. You can't just say
- 17:32Speaker 4: it's a nine-month losing streak when he didn't play any
- 17:36Speaker 4: games from February to August. He didn't play in one game. Oh, yeah.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Well, you're going to play in a game after the show.
- 17:46Speaker 1: The game's called Dodge My Car.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 3: And you know what always has a streak? Your shit-filled underwear.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Oh! Now, shut up.
- 17:56Speaker 3: He's still talking.
- 17:57Speaker 1: What?
- 17:57Speaker 4: Go!
- 17:57Speaker 3: You keep saying....
- 18:02Speaker 4: Superbowl winning quarterback. Yeah.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Check Wikipedia, bro. It says it right there, bro.
- 18:09Speaker 4: He was injured after week 14 and didn't play in
- 18:13Speaker 4: the Superbowl. So I don't care what Wikipedia says. You
- 18:17Speaker 4: can't call Carson Wentz a Superbowl winning quarterback.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Well, um, they're going to call me awesome
- 18:26Speaker 1: Wentz after I set fire to your apartment.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what you can be called? A
- 18:33Speaker 2: penisless virgin. Oh, you're done me, Shady.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Talking about Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, Tony, just in time.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Just booked on the show next week. Super Bowl hero,
