Transcript
- Lucas: Velkommen til episode 97 of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Hey Lucas, last episode we learned 'å være' — to be. That was huge. Lucas: It was. And today I thought we'd learn another really common verb. Are you ready? Luna: Always. What is it? Lucas: 'Å ha' — to have. Like 'I have a book' or 'I have a cat'. Luna: Oh nice, 'å ha'. Let me try that... å ha. Lucas: Perfect. So the present tense is 'jeg har' — I have. Say it with me: jeg har. Luna: Jeg har. Lucas: Good. Now, if you want to ask someone if they have something, you say 'har du' — do you have? Try it. Luna: Har du. Lucas: Exactly. So let's put it together. 'Jeg har en katt' — I have a cat. Say it. Luna: Jeg har en katt. Lucas: And 'Har du en hund?' — Do you have a dog? Luna: Har du en hund? Lucas: You've got it. Let's do a little back and forth. I'll ask you, and you answer in Norwegian. Har du en katt? Luna: Umm... ja, jeg har en katt. Lucas: Perfect. Now you ask me. Luna: Har du en hund? Lucas: Nei, jeg har ikke en hund. But I do have a fish. 'Jeg har en fisk'. Luna: Oh, 'fisk' — that's fish, right? So 'jeg har en fisk'. Lucas: Yes. And here's a cool thing: if you want to say you don't have something, you just put 'ikke' after the verb. 'Jeg har ikke en fisk' — I don't have a fish. Say it. Luna: Jeg har ikke en fisk. Lucas: Great. Now, you're doing so well with these verbs. And speaking of supporting your learning, you know, Fexingo makes these episodes without any ads. If you find this helpful and want to support that, you can go to buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a nice way to keep the show ad-free. Anyway, let's practice more. So 'å ha' — how do you say 'I have a book'? Lucas: Jeg har en bok. Say it. Luna: Jeg har en bok. Lucas: And 'Do you have a pencil?'? Luna: Har du en blyant? Lucas: Yes, 'blyant' is pencil. Perfect. Now let's try a short conversation. I'll be a friend. Hei, Luna. Har du en katt? Luna: Ja, jeg har en katt. Har du? Lucas: Nei, jeg har ikke en katt, men jeg har en fisk. Luna: Kult! Jeg liker fisk. Lucas: Oh, using 'liker' from last time. Nice. So today we learned 'å ha' — to have, 'jeg har' — I have, 'har du' — do you have, and we added some animals: katt, hund, fisk. Let's do one final round. Repeat after me: jeg har. Luna: Jeg har. Lucas: Har du. Luna: Har du. Lucas: Jeg har en katt. Luna: Jeg har en katt. Lucas: Har du en hund? Luna: Har du en hund? Lucas: Jeg har ikke en fisk. Luna: Jeg har ikke en fisk. Lucas: Great job, Luna. You're really building up your Norwegian. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. This was fun. I can't wait to use 'å ha' in real life. Lucas: And you can. Practice with your pets or ask a friend. That's all for episode 97. Takk for at du lyttet, and see you next time. Luna: Ha det bra!
