- 0:29Speaker 1: Welcome to Table Talk here at the Philadelphia Sports Table
- 0:31Speaker 1: podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show
- 0:35Speaker 1: in the world. That's right over twelve and a half
- 0:38Speaker 1: years strong. We got a great table talk discussion coming
- 0:40Speaker 1: your way this week. Yes, if you are on YouTube,
- 0:44Speaker 1: you're gonna see an avatar of me. One of the
- 0:46Speaker 1: reasons why is I unfortunately fractured my nose and I
- 0:51Speaker 1: basically looked like a raccoon at this point, so it's
- 0:53Speaker 1: gonna take some time to heal. There is no need
- 0:55Speaker 1: for anybody to see me, but there is all the
- 0:57Speaker 1: reason in the world for folks to see our guests
- 1:00Speaker 1: this week from Rambling Fan. He is one of our
- 1:04Speaker 1: favorites here. We love having them on to talk NFL
- 1:07Speaker 1: to specifically talk about the Los Angeles Rams, a team
- 1:10Speaker 1: that he covers. You can follow him on the Twitter
- 1:13Speaker 1: slash x at Milroy Eagles Fan. We've got Brett Stuter.
- 1:18Speaker 1: How you doing, Buddy, I'm doing well.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Jeff, how are you?
- 1:21Speaker 1: I'm doing all right aside from my fractured noes. I'm
- 1:24Speaker 1: doing all right, man. But I gotta tell you it's
- 1:27Speaker 1: first off, it's great seeing you. Secondly, our teams that
- 1:30Speaker 1: we cover Philadelphia Eagles for myself, the Los Angeles Rams
- 1:35Speaker 1: for you. My gosh, what a what a time in
- 1:38Speaker 1: the NFL right now, And we're certainly going to dive
- 1:40Speaker 1: into the top of the NFC in a bit in
- 1:43Speaker 1: terms of the Eagles and the Rams. But man, after
- 1:47Speaker 1: this past weekend here, Brett, there's just this prevalent in
- 1:52Speaker 1: this ongoing theme after week thirteen here that NFL teams
- 1:57Speaker 1: that there's no NFL teams that are really all that good.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I mean, the Rams lose to the Panthers, for the
- 2:03Speaker 1: love of god, I don't know how that happened. And
- 2:04Speaker 1: then the Eagles lose to the Bears at home on
- 2:06Speaker 1: Bret Black Friday, for the love of god, I thought
- 2:09Speaker 1: they were going to actually win that game. The Colts,
- 2:12Speaker 1: who are having a really good first half of the season,
- 2:15Speaker 1: they have been faltering as well. It seems like we're
- 2:18Speaker 1: really seeing some dare I say, parody in the NFL
- 2:23Speaker 1: this year in terms of talent from team to team
- 2:26Speaker 1: and how teams are able to perform week after weeks.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So in terms of this whole narrative, in terms of
- 2:32Speaker 1: this theme that you know that there really aren't any
- 2:35Speaker 1: good or dominant teams. I should say here this year
- 2:37Speaker 1: in the NFL, what are your thoughts on this particular
- 2:40Speaker 1: narrative here as we're just the exiting Week thirteen.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Well, I think that one of the challenges we have
- 2:46Speaker 2: is that we're always looking at the most recent games
- 2:50Speaker 2: as that defines a team for its season, and I
- 2:54Speaker 2: don't know that we can do that. Unfortunately, it's a
- 2:58Speaker 2: very myopic fan base now in the NFL, and you know,
- 3:03Speaker 2: we tend to overreact. We can blame the NFL and
- 3:07Speaker 2: all of its parody maneuvers on why good teams are
- 3:12Speaker 2: losing on Week thirteen. Yeah, it's a seventeen game season.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Every team has the same salary cap. The draft is loaded,
- 3:21Speaker 2: but it's loaded for inverting teams, so four teams get
- 3:25Speaker 2: the best prospects, and good teams have to play other
- 3:30Speaker 2: good teams. So interim, I guess assessments are tough to
- 3:36Speaker 2: make because you know, in all honesty, the best teams
- 3:39Speaker 2: are playing the best teams, yes, and you don't really
- 3:42Speaker 2: get to see it until at the final four or
- 3:44Speaker 2: five weeks where the division really starts to take shape
- 3:48Speaker 2: because you've got division rivals beating up on one another.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's a really good assessment too. I mean,
- 3:54Speaker 1: it was so bizarre last night watching that Sunday night
- 3:58Speaker 1: game as we're recording this on Monday to December one,
- 4:01Speaker 1: the Denver Broncos against the Washington Commanders, and how close
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Commanders kept that game. The Commander is not necessarily
- 4:09Speaker 1: the best team in the world, but they were getting
- 4:11Speaker 1: some really great quarterback play, you know, during certain parts
- 4:15Speaker 1: of the game from Marcus Mariota. And it's just really
- 4:20Speaker 1: interesting to see in terms of the parody where the
- 4:22Speaker 1: league is really at rate now as we're heading into
- 4:25Speaker 1: Week fourteen. But you know, to move along with the
- 4:28Speaker 1: conversation here, Brett, I want to talk about the top
- 4:32Speaker 1: of the NFC here. I mean, this has been an
- 4:35Speaker 1: ongoing theme on this podcast platform over the course of
- 4:38Speaker 1: the past few weeks. We've talked about this again, kind
- 4:40Speaker 1: of going back to that parody that we were just mentioning.
- 4:43Speaker 1: The Rams that you cover, the Eagles that we cover
- 4:46Speaker 1: are still I would believe, considered to be a top
- 4:48Speaker 1: five NFC team. But the Bears, I mean, the Chicago
- 4:53Speaker 1: Bears are now sitting at the number one seed if
- 4:56Speaker 1: the playoffs actually started today. It's astonishing. I don't think
- 5:00Speaker 1: anybody during the preseason thought that this would actually happen
- 5:05Speaker 1: here as we're leaving Week thirteen, but I'm wondering, do
- 5:09Speaker 1: you think the Eagles and the Rams are still for
- 5:12Speaker 1: real and are truly top teams in the NFC?
- 5:18Speaker 2: In a word, absolutely, Okay. I don't want to react
- 5:22Speaker 2: to any losses that happened interim, because, as the Rams
- 5:27Speaker 2: head coach Sean McVay once said, who was in the
- 5:31Speaker 2: lead after Week thirteen? That's right, nobody knows, yeah, And
- 5:37Speaker 2: so you know, I think that the Bears have a
- 5:40Speaker 2: great win, and of course there's going to be a
- 5:43Speaker 2: lot of hyperbole associated because emotions drive us and drive clicks,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and so there's a lot of temptation to overreact. But
- 5:53Speaker 2: I don't want to be that overreactive. I guess voice
- 5:56Speaker 2: in the background. We're always going to have good teams
- 6:01Speaker 2: that ultimately have to fall back upon great coaching, and
- 6:04Speaker 2: right now, I think the Eagles and the Rams have
- 6:06Speaker 2: some of the best coaching. I think that the Seahawks,
- 6:12Speaker 2: the Patriots, Broncos have great coaching. Forty nine Ers have
- 6:16Speaker 2: great coaching. They're playing a last play schedule, so I
- 6:20Speaker 2: think that there are a lot of teams out there
- 6:23Speaker 2: that will rise to the surface because they've got better coaching. Overall.
- 6:29Speaker 2: We can add some names to the list, but in
- 6:31Speaker 2: all honesty, a lot of the teams that have first
- 6:34Speaker 2: year head coaches that has to be proven. To me,
- 6:37Speaker 2: I'm kind of a doubting Thomas that way.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Oh, we're going to be getting into one of those teams.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I think in a little bit that's a kind of
- 6:43Speaker 1: a first year coach with one of the teams that's
- 6:46Speaker 1: the top of the AFC. But I really quit, Brent.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I gotta say, Eagles fans that are going to be
- 6:53Speaker 1: listening to this when you said that Eagles, see, this
- 6:56Speaker 1: is the bizarre situation being an Eagles fan. They're defending
- 7:00Speaker 1: Super Bowl champions, this Philadelphia Eagles team, and you just
- 7:03Speaker 1: mentioned the Eagles have great coaching at this point in time.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Eagles Nation will say, Brett, what are you talking about? No,
- 7:10Speaker 1: they do not. They are floundering. I mean, I'm that's
- 7:15Speaker 1: what a lot of Eagles Nation is saying. And quite frankly,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I think when it comes to Nick Sirianni and Kevin
- 7:19Speaker 1: Patulo the offensive coordinator, there has been a lot of
- 7:22Speaker 1: inconsistency there's been a lot of just bizarre stuff happening
- 7:26Speaker 1: from an offensive standpoint this season.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And I will give you that. But on the on
- 7:32Speaker 2: the flip side, you know, stepping back, Sirianni has been
- 7:37Speaker 2: a very successful coach for the Eagles, and very true. Yep,
- 7:42Speaker 2: you know there were years and years upon years where
- 7:46Speaker 2: the Eagles had Andy Reid or a number of great
- 7:51Speaker 2: coaching that never got over the top. Yes, so you know,
- 7:56Speaker 2: in comparison, you know, I I love how East Coast
- 8:01Speaker 2: and and Eagles fans particularly take stock and and really
- 8:07Speaker 2: get immersed in the team. And I'll give you that,
- 8:10Speaker 2: But I don't think that the problem is as easy
- 8:14Speaker 2: as fire the head coach, because then you always have
- 8:16Speaker 2: the who comes in afterwards, right, is better? And and
- 8:20Speaker 2: I think that the problem with our kind of disposable
- 8:25Speaker 2: mindset is we just toss somebody and that's all we
- 8:29Speaker 2: have to say about it. I really think that Siriani
- 8:32Speaker 2: is the kind of coach who will pull it together.
- 8:35Speaker 2: He was a guy that that orchestrated, you know, the
- 8:37Speaker 2: Super Bowl win last year. Yeah, So I don't know
- 8:41Speaker 2: that I would say that he's you know, hot garbage.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I think that he's got some struggles, but you know,
- 8:47Speaker 2: I suspect that he will find a way to pull
- 8:50Speaker 2: over the team through.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I I think. I think that is a really good
- 8:54Speaker 1: perspective to have, and at times for Eagles fans and
- 8:57Speaker 1: Eagles Nation, it is so tough for them to actually
- 9:01Speaker 1: see that. But let's move on to the AFC. Okay,
- 9:05Speaker 1: because the AFC is also so very interesting. Is the
- 9:09Speaker 1: Broncos and the Patriots. They each have only two losses
- 9:14Speaker 1: this season. I'm amazed by this one particular team. And
- 9:20Speaker 1: I know many of us had the Broncos as being
- 9:22Speaker 1: a sleeper team heading into this season, but I don't
- 9:24Speaker 1: think anybody thought the Patriots Brett would have been this
- 9:28Speaker 1: successful after thirteen weeks of play. So as we just
- 9:33Speaker 1: talked about top NFC teams with Eagles and the Rams,
- 9:38Speaker 1: do you think the Broncos and the Patriots are truly
- 9:41Speaker 1: top teams in the AFC.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I think the Patriots are getting the benefit of a
- 9:48Speaker 2: bad teams schedule this year. Okay, I think they're good.
- 9:53Speaker 2: They have beaten some incredibly talented teams, but I don't
- 9:57Speaker 2: know that I would necessarily consider them where their current
- 10:00Speaker 2: playoff birth pass. Though Broncos have done a better job
- 10:05Speaker 2: of fighting a tougher schedule, but they have to get
- 10:09Speaker 2: to the end of the season, you know, in seventeen games.
- 10:11Speaker 2: We've just finished Week thirteen. We've got five more weeks
- 10:15Speaker 2: to go. You know, it's hard. I think that both
- 10:20Speaker 2: the Patriots and the Broncos are very good teams, but
- 10:23Speaker 2: just how good I'm going to hold off on judging, okay,
- 10:27Speaker 2: until I see how they finish the season They've got.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Both teams have some very tough games ahead of them.
- 10:33Speaker 1: They have very tough games ahead of them, and I
- 10:35Speaker 1: think the Broncos if I had to, like put, if
- 10:37Speaker 1: I had to pick or choose one of these two teams, Brett,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I would say the Broncos are probably a little bit
- 10:43Speaker 1: more real than the Patriots. And it goes to that
- 10:47Speaker 1: Broncos defense. I think that you see so much dominance
- 10:51Speaker 1: from them. And you know, I think that Sean Payton
- 10:56Speaker 1: like them or not, And there are times, you know,
- 10:58Speaker 1: I haven't been the biggest fan of On Peyton during
- 11:00Speaker 1: the course of his tenure as an NFL head coach.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I think he has this Broncos team in general pointed
- 11:07Speaker 1: in the right direction. So if I had to pick
- 11:10Speaker 1: either between the Broncos or the Patriots. Which team is
- 11:13Speaker 1: more for real? I would have to say the Broncos.
- 11:16Speaker 1: What are your thoughts there?
- 11:18Speaker 2: I agree with you. I think that Sean Payton is
- 11:21Speaker 2: the same head coach who came in and told the
- 11:24Speaker 2: Broncos we don't want Russell Wilson anymore. Now it seems
- 11:27Speaker 2: like a stroke of genius. Those are tough calls and
- 11:31Speaker 2: only confident coaches can make them. So the Broncos, in
- 11:36Speaker 2: my mind, are ahead of the game because they kind
- 11:39Speaker 2: of passed some of those tough litmus tests already. Yep.
- 11:43Speaker 2: The Pats have to make those tough decisions ahead of them.
- 11:47Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm with you. I think the Broncos are
- 11:50Speaker 2: a tougher team. We'll see how it plays out.
- 11:54Speaker 1: All right, Very good again, folks. We are talking to
- 11:56Speaker 1: Brett Stouter from Ramblin Fan over A Fans. You can
- 12:01Speaker 1: follow him on the Twitter slash x at Milroy Eagles Fan.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Great great follow and we love having him on. We
- 12:08Speaker 1: are going to take a quick break here up. But actually,
- 12:11Speaker 1: before we go to break, Brett, aside from Twitter x,
- 12:15Speaker 1: is there any other social sites that you're on that
- 12:17Speaker 1: you want to promote or any other thing you want
- 12:19Speaker 1: to promote.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Well. Ramblin Fan, which is part of the Minute Media
- 12:25Speaker 2: rams blog site, yep, we cover a number of topics
- 12:31Speaker 2: and I think that it's we do try to be
- 12:34Speaker 2: a little more just not focused on the ramps, but
- 12:37Speaker 2: also across the NFL at large. So I think you'll
- 12:41Speaker 2: if you dare to read, I think you'll find you'll
- 12:44Speaker 2: get some good conversations.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Awesome again, folks, Ramblin Fan, fantastic website out there where
- 12:50Speaker 1: you are going to go to break for just a
- 12:53Speaker 1: quick bit. We'll be back in just a bit with
- 12:54Speaker 1: some more NFL talk. All right, and we are back
- 12:58Speaker 1: with our buddy Brett from Ramblin Fan. Brett, I really
- 13:04Speaker 1: want to dive into a specific team that I don't
- 13:07Speaker 1: think is getting a lot of How can I say,
- 13:10Speaker 1: maybe they're due and maybe they shouldn't be getting their due.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Maybe they're a team that's just getting lucky. But I
- 13:15Speaker 1: think a team that is shocked many of us here
- 13:18Speaker 1: in Week thirteen are the Jacksonville Jaguars. I mean, they
- 13:22Speaker 1: have won three straight games that are now sitting atop
- 13:26Speaker 1: of the AFC South. Yes, they're still tied with the
- 13:29Speaker 1: Indianapolis Colts, who have who seem to be trending downward here.
- 13:34Speaker 1: As they had mentioned earlier, I just think this Jaguars
- 13:37Speaker 1: team is pretty interesting to watch. Quite frankly, do you
- 13:42Speaker 1: see the Jacksonville Jaguars making a run over these next
- 13:45Speaker 1: few weeks of the season, or again, have they just
- 13:48Speaker 1: been a lucky team in your opinion? What are your
- 13:51Speaker 1: thoughts here?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Well, I think the whole AFC South Division is a
- 13:56Speaker 2: very interesting group of teams. Yeah, of course a Tennessee
- 13:59Speaker 2: Titan are out of it, but the other three teams,
- 14:03Speaker 2: the Colts, the Jaguars, and now the Texans, they're all
- 14:07Speaker 2: looking like they're making a run. One of the things
- 14:11Speaker 2: that I love about the Jaguars is their synergy. They
- 14:15Speaker 2: poached personal executive James Gladstone from the Rams. Then they
- 14:21Speaker 2: hired former Rams offensive coordinator Liam Cohne to run the team,
- 14:26Speaker 2: so they have kind of on that they're on the
- 14:29Speaker 2: same page of how to build a cohesive and successful team.
- 14:33Speaker 2: They've been winning, and in all honesty, that doesn't surprise
- 14:37Speaker 2: me in the least. But are they a playoff team?
- 14:41Speaker 2: I think that's the question that has to be answered
- 14:44Speaker 2: through the final games of the season.
- 14:48Speaker 1: When you look at this division too, Like, do you
- 14:51Speaker 1: I'm wondering, do you think the Colts really are the
- 14:53Speaker 1: team for these other teams in the division to beat
- 14:57Speaker 1: at this point? Because you know, I was looking at this.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You look at this Colts team throughout this season, you say,
- 15:02Speaker 1: Daniel Jones really had a pulse on what this offense
- 15:09Speaker 1: should become, how he was operating the offense. And again
- 15:13Speaker 1: now that this team is kind of sputtering here for
- 15:16Speaker 1: very for various reasons here, I do wonder if the
- 15:19Speaker 1: Colts are going to be the real deal here when
- 15:21Speaker 1: you look at the Colts, you know, you look, you
- 15:24Speaker 1: look at the Texans, you look at the Jaguars, like,
- 15:27Speaker 1: what are your what are your thoughts on how it
- 15:30Speaker 1: may all take shape? You know, what is your gut
- 15:32Speaker 1: telling you at this point?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Well, I think that in all lost, I was never
- 15:36Speaker 2: a believer in Daniel Jones, and despite his early season success, yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I'm still skeptical. Okay, Jones had every chance with the
- 15:46Speaker 2: New York Giants. Giants are a tough team. New York's
- 15:49Speaker 2: a tough town, yes, but I didn't see what he
- 15:54Speaker 2: flashed with the Colts, and I think that that may
- 15:57Speaker 2: have been, you know, kind of that bulk that you
- 15:59Speaker 2: get whenever you're out with a new team and you
- 16:01Speaker 2: get a fresh start to kind of redefine who you are.
- 16:06Speaker 2: But I think that Jones is starting to settle in.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I still love the Texans there because they are just
- 16:13Speaker 2: tough as nails, and I think that the Jaguars are
- 16:18Speaker 2: going to prove to be very pesky coming down to
- 16:22Speaker 2: the stretch right here. You know, it's it's going to
- 16:26Speaker 2: be a kind of a carnage in my mind, in
- 16:31Speaker 2: that whichever team beats the rest of them as the
- 16:35Speaker 2: final games play out, I think they're the ones that
- 16:38Speaker 2: are going to take the division. The thing that I'm
- 16:44Speaker 2: most concerned about is that if the winning team for
- 16:48Speaker 2: that division is beat up, comes out of it with
- 16:51Speaker 2: less health than they would like, that's going to be
- 16:53Speaker 2: a tough position for them to be in to go
- 16:56Speaker 2: into the postseason. There's a lot of parody there, and
- 17:00Speaker 2: I'm just afraid that they're going to beat the snot
- 17:03Speaker 2: out of one another, you know, in the way to
- 17:06Speaker 2: get there, as opposed to you know, some of the
- 17:09Speaker 2: other teams, like say, for example, the Eagles. I think
- 17:11Speaker 2: that the Eagles have a much smoother course. They've got
- 17:16Speaker 2: two games against the Commanders and you know, and then
- 17:19Speaker 2: three AFC teams, so by rights, unless the Cowboys win
- 17:23Speaker 2: everything that they've got, you know, I think that the
- 17:26Speaker 2: Eagles are almost a shoe in for the playoffs. Yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 2: but I don't think that any of the AFC South
- 17:33Speaker 2: teams have that kind of a path. It's going to
- 17:36Speaker 2: be tough going slug it through the whole way from
- 17:39Speaker 2: here on out.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is. It's going to be a knockdown,
- 17:42Speaker 1: just drag out affair with some of these teams for sure.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And you know, you use that word parody again, and
- 17:49Speaker 1: we're seeing so much of it as again as we're
- 17:52Speaker 1: exiting Week thirteen, heading into Week fourteen of this NFL season,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and I guess to close us out here, Brett, you know,
- 17:58Speaker 1: there are always teams that come on strong towards the
- 18:01Speaker 1: end of the regular season. We see it every single year.
- 18:04Speaker 1: You know, we're talking about some of those teams right
- 18:06Speaker 1: now in specific divisions. I'm wondering which teams really should
- 18:11Speaker 1: we be keeping our eyes on that may actually shock
- 18:14Speaker 1: us as we head into the last few weeks of
- 18:17Speaker 1: this NFL regular season. Do you have a couple or
- 18:20Speaker 1: a few teams in mind that you're really keeping your
- 18:22Speaker 1: eyes on here.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Well, just for you, I dusted out by Crystal Ball.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Okay, thanks Bretton.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I wanted to give a drop some names, but I
- 18:33Speaker 2: don't know how much of a kind of a shock
- 18:35Speaker 2: they are. Okay, just pesky teams that won't go away,
- 18:38Speaker 2: like you know the holiday fruitcake. Yes, top of the
- 18:42Speaker 2: line is the dreaded Dallas Cowboys. Well, I don't think
- 18:46Speaker 2: they can overtake the Eagles. They have won three games
- 18:50Speaker 2: consecutive games against very good teams, and if they keep
- 18:54Speaker 2: winning they can knock off another team or two. They
- 18:58Speaker 2: have a chance to slide in as a wild part team.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I know that that upsets me as much as you,
- 19:05Speaker 2: but the way it is right, I think the San
- 19:08Speaker 2: Francisco forty nine ers, while they still have some tough
- 19:11Speaker 2: teams to play, I think that they have benefited from
- 19:15Speaker 2: a last place team schedule, so they didn't really face
- 19:19Speaker 2: a whole lot of tough teams, and so they're getting healthy.
- 19:23Speaker 2: At the end of the year, they could be a team.
- 19:26Speaker 2: The Detroit Lions. Although they lost two very important coordinators,
- 19:31Speaker 2: they are starting to show a pulse again, so they
- 19:34Speaker 2: could be in there. I think the Baltimore Ravens, although
- 19:38Speaker 2: they just lost a humiliating game against the Cincinnati Bengals,
- 19:43Speaker 2: are still in there. They play two against the Pittsburgh Steelers,
- 19:46Speaker 2: which I think determines the fate there. And then you know,
- 19:50Speaker 2: Jamiico Ryans Houston Texans just because they are a tough
- 19:54Speaker 2: team and they do not surrender, and they are now
- 19:58Speaker 2: setting their sights on the Colts and the Jaguars, and
- 20:01Speaker 2: I think that they may be just turbed enough to
- 20:06Speaker 2: take it.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta tell them, I absolutely love your five.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And I'll say this as well. I'm absolutely shocked at
- 20:17Speaker 1: what has happened with the Detroit Lions, but there's something
- 20:21Speaker 1: in the back of my mind that says that the
- 20:24Speaker 1: coaching staff there, the veterans on the team there are somehow,
- 20:29Speaker 1: in some way, shape or form, going to be getting
- 20:31Speaker 1: it together over these next few weeks and really could
- 20:34Speaker 1: make a push toward the top of the NFC North
- 20:39Speaker 1: that is, overtaking the Green Bay Packers, overtaking the Chicago Bears.
- 20:43Speaker 1: As we mentioned earlier, Chicago Bears now number one seed
- 20:47Speaker 1: in the NFC, which is absolutely crazy. But I think
- 20:51Speaker 1: there is enough talent on that Lion's team, especially from
- 20:54Speaker 1: an offensive perspective, where they could actually, I don't necessarily
- 20:58Speaker 1: want to say shock us, but they could really really
- 21:01Speaker 1: give the Packers and the Bears a run for their
- 21:03Speaker 1: money at the end of this season here, I don't know,
- 21:06Speaker 1: what are your thoughts with the Lions.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Yeah, again, the thing that I like about the Lions
- 21:10Speaker 2: is that they have the right teams on their schedule
- 21:12Speaker 2: to do some damn it right. You know, if one
- 21:15Speaker 2: of the toughest parts of being a you know, in
- 21:18Speaker 2: the hunt is having a schedule where you have to
- 21:21Speaker 2: rely upon other teams to beat the guys that you
- 21:25Speaker 2: need to overcome to get into the playoffs. The Lions
- 21:28Speaker 2: have their teams on the schedule. They're playing one more
- 21:31Speaker 2: against the Bears. I think they have at least one
- 21:34Speaker 2: more against the Packers. They certainly have their own destiny
- 21:41Speaker 2: in their hands if they can win out right, so
- 21:44Speaker 2: they're not out of it. They have some tough teams though,
- 21:46Speaker 2: but they have to face the Rams still as well.
- 21:50Speaker 2: But they are pesky and they're not going away easily.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So you know, if they can beat tough teams on
- 21:57Speaker 2: their schedule, they deserve to get in. So we'll see
- 22:01Speaker 2: if Dan Campbell can keep it going.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Absolutely again, folks, here is Brett Stuter from Ramblinfan. Check
