- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome back to creep Cast. How you guys doing today?
- 0:13Today we are doing the famous creepy Pasta run. We've
- 0:18been on a very very big r slash no Sleep
- 0:21kick And the problem with doing normal creepy pasta is
- 0:26that a lot of them are very very short, and
- 0:28if we only did one and we focus on one,
- 0:30some of these podcasts would be three minutes long. I mean,
- 0:34it would be a very quick episode. So today we're
- 0:37going to run through probably almost try to get all
- 0:40of the key big old creepy pastas, and we're just
- 0:44putting them all into a grab bag here for you,
- 0:47and we're just gonna run through every.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Single one of them.
- 0:49Speaker 1: So some of these you probably have definitely heard read
- 0:51or whatever. But where I once again, as always, I
- 0:54have not read any of these classics. All Right, We've
- 0:57touched on some of them, like I'm looking at we're
- 0:58also on Creepypasta. We're looking at some of them here,
- 1:02and I see like nineteen eighty nine is at the
- 1:04top of creemypasta dot com. We've read that we tried
- 1:07reading Bedtime before was boring as hell. When I think
- 1:10that's whenever me and Isaiah were in person, we tried
- 1:13reading it, et cetera. And then we've read Ben Drowned.
- 1:16So there's someone here that we've read already. But I
- 1:18see one at the top here that I feel like
- 1:19I've heard of before, called candle Cove, that I believe
- 1:23we're gonna start with today. So some of these are
- 1:25ranging from it says less than a minute, and I
- 1:28think the longest we'll ever read is like ten minutes.
- 1:30So it's gonna be. It's gonna be a lot of them,
- 1:32So buckle in.
- 1:33Speaker 2: It's gonna be. It's gonna be a bumpy ride. It's
- 1:36gonna be a bumpy ride. So what we're doing here
- 1:38is Hunter Frankly has it too good? Right, Like this guy,
- 1:44uh listens to some of the best selected off of
- 1:46No Sleep. He listens to like these two hour long
- 1:48things that are eventually adapted into books, and he hasn't
- 1:51put up with what I've put up with what a
- 1:53lot of us have. But these like, yeah, five minute
- 1:56horror stories that would happen once in like twenty sixteen,
- 2:00and we had to make those last for months until
- 2:02something else came out.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Okay, I really have been eating nothing but prime rib whatever,
- 2:08And then now I go, I'm.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Taking you to the gas station. Yeah, exactly.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Now I'm getting a filet from seven to eleven. That's
- 2:14that's how that's that.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I need that.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I need to have that perspective.
- 2:18Speaker 2: But it's been there two weeks, but they reheated it
- 2:20on like the hot dog roller wrecks for a bit,
- 2:23so it kind of looks fresh from a distance. But
- 2:25then you get in the car and you open the
- 2:27bag and it's like that was a bad move. Yeah,
- 2:30I should have done that. Yeah. Yeah, So I'm going
- 2:32to afford to it.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm looking I'm going to afford to it.
- 2:34Speaker 2: That's what we're going to do. Hurt him more. I
- 2:38think candle Cove is going to be probably the longest
- 2:40one we're going to read. I want to take him
- 2:42through a lot of the micro whore instances, the things
- 2:44that I know about and you know about but he
- 2:46doesn't know about. Sure, I have a plan here to
- 2:49make this bad for him, and I can't wait.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So are we start? Do you want to start with
- 2:53the long one to kind of like, let's start with
- 2:55candle Cove. I've heard candle Cove is supposed to be
- 2:57pretty good. Candle Cove is different candle coats different than
- 3:01the other side. We're gonna go through harrol'brin, We're gonna
- 3:04we're gonna go through lavender Town syndrome. We're gonna go
- 3:07through some of the bankers, as long as they're not
- 3:10all I just don't want to do. I hate video
- 3:13game ship like lavender Town. That sounds cool. I don't
- 3:16know what the fuck that is.
- 3:17Speaker 2: That's a shame. Huh. That's a shame because you don't
- 3:20you're not picking today, Okay.
- 3:22Speaker 1: All I know is I saw there was like Sonic
- 3:24x EX and then I said, I was like, oh,
- 3:25suicide Mouse and You're like that's mockey Mouse or whatever.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I was like, so we'll see you. You know, Sonic
- 3:34tax we did it a lot. I don't know.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I I know, I know that for sure. I know
- 3:37that there's sons That's why I was scrolling through. It
- 3:39was like God, and I just remember because we've it's
- 3:43not like we've never talked about some of these before
- 3:44in the past, but it's mostly been like passing, like
- 3:48just being like, oh yeah, there was a lot of
- 3:50like video game stuff because we did Sonic x x
- 3:53EX whatever.
- 3:54Speaker 2: What was the I feel like we did another video
- 3:57game one. Did we do another video game one?
- 4:00Speaker 1: It was ledge temps out there, That's what it was.
- 4:01So yeah, when we were I think even then we
- 4:03were talking talk about how it was just like, oh
- 4:05yeah insert goodh.
- 4:07Speaker 2: God, I'll never forget about me hunter, I almost did.
- 4:10I feel like that.
- 4:11Speaker 1: That's why my life has been so much better lately
- 4:13is because that was out of the mental cortex.
- 4:17Speaker 2: It's me.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'm very excited though, I'm I'm excited to I think
- 4:21that this is going to be a fun experience. You
- 4:24know what's fun about an episode like this too. I
- 4:27was just thinking about give me people that are also
- 4:29that maybe got into creepypasta stuff because of the show,
- 4:32is they're going.
- 4:33Speaker 2: To go and blind just like me.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And then there's tons of seasoned veterans readers who their
- 4:39their eyes have glazed over multiple times and they're they're
- 4:42they're twiddling their fingers probably and yes, exactly.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You don't forget it. We're going to destroy them, just
- 4:50crush them. I can't wait.

- 6:38Speaker 1: Back to the episode, don't get too.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Scared so our beginning is entries from a net nostalgia
- 6:47forum about local television shows. The first entry comes from
- 6:51skyshell thirty three. Uh. The subject is Candlecove local kids show,
- 6:56and skyshell asks does anyone remember this kid show? It
- 6:59was called candle Cove, and I must have been six
- 7:02or seven. I never found reference to it anywhere, so
- 7:05I think it was on a local station around nineteen
- 7:07seventy one or nineteen seventy two. I lived in Ironton
- 7:10at the time. I don't remember which station, but I
- 7:13do remember it was on at a weird time, like
- 7:16four pm.
- 7:17Speaker 1: On Mike Painter sixty five. Responding to the subject of
- 7:20the post above, it seems really familiar to me. I
- 7:23grew about side of Ashland and was nine years old
- 7:26in nineteen seventy two Candle Cove was Was it about pirates?
- 7:30I remember I remember a pirate Maryan at the mouth
- 7:34of a cave talking to a little girl.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Skyshaw responds, yes, okay, I'm not crazy. I remember pirate Percy.
- 7:41I was always kind of scared of him. He looked
- 7:43like he was built from parts of other dolls, real
- 7:46low budget. His head was an old porcelain baby doll,
- 7:50looked like an antique that didn't belong on the body.
- 7:53I don't remember what station this was. I don't think
- 7:56it was WTSF, though.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Jar in two thousy and five says, sorry to resurrect
- 8:01this old thread, but I know exactly what show you mean, Skyshaale.
- 8:05I think Candle Cove ran only for a couple months
- 8:07in seventy one, not seventy two. I was twelve and
- 8:10I watched it a few times with my brother. It
- 8:12was Channel fifty eight, whatever station that was my mom
- 8:15would let me switch to it after the news.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Let me see what I remember.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It took place in Candle Cove and it was about
- 8:21a little girl who imagined herself to be friends with pirates.
- 8:24The pirate ship was called the Laughing Stock, and the
- 8:27pirate Percy wasn't a very good pirate because he got
- 8:30scared too easily. And there was a there was a
- 8:33calliop music constantly playing. Don't remember that a girl's name
- 8:37Janis or Jade or something.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think it was Janis. Skyshall replies to that and says,
- 8:42thank you, Jared. Memories flooded back when you mentioned Laughing
- 8:45Stock and channel fifty eight. I remember the bow of
- 8:48the ship was a whaten smiling face with the lower
- 8:51jaws submerged. It looked like it was swallowing the sea,
- 8:54and it had that awful Edwin voice and laugh. I
- 8:57especially remember how jarring it was when they sway from
- 9:00the wooden plastic model to the foam puppet version of
- 9:03the head that.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Talked microspondsi and it says, I remember it now too.
- 9:07Do you remember this part, Skyshial, you have to go
- 9:12inside sky Shower.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Repplies to that and says Mike, I got a chill
- 9:17reading that. Yes, I remember that's what the ship always
- 9:20told Percy. When there's a spooky place, he had to
- 9:22go in like a cave or a dark room where
- 9:24there where the treasure was. And the camera would push
- 9:27in on laughing Stock's face with each pause. You have
- 9:30to go inside with his two eyes a skew and
- 9:36that flopping foam jahn the fishing line that opened and
- 9:39closed it. Ah, just looks so cheap and awful. You guys,
- 9:42remember the villain. He had a face that was just
- 9:45a handlebar mustache above really tall, narrow teeth.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I just knows that the guy's name is Kevin Hart.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yes, this person's name is Kevin Hart. Could be the
- 9:54candor Kevin Hart.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Know it's not the professional, the huge stand up comedian
- 9:58Kevin Hart will never know.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I think you should do that voice. I am not
- 10:02for I am not going to. I don't know what
- 10:05could possibly I.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Think that that's you know, I think that I just honestly,
- 10:14I honestly thought that the villain was pirate Percy.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I was about five when the show was on Nightmare Fuel.
- 10:21Jared says, that wasn't the villain the puppet with the mustache.
- 10:25That was the villain's sidekick, Horace Horrible. He had a
- 10:29monocle two, but it was on top of the mustache.
- 10:32I used to think that meant he only had one eye.
- 10:34But yeah, the villain was another marionette, The skin Taker.
- 10:38What the fuck? The skin Taker? I can't believe what
- 10:41they let us watch back then? Holy hell, were that
- 10:44just turned up to eleven?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Everyone's like, yeah, Pirate Percy, Horace Horrible.
- 10:49Speaker 1: No, it was the skin Taker.
- 10:51Speaker 2: The skin Taker, that's what you're forgetting. Oh, yeah, that
- 10:54that is what I'm forgetting. Uh, I forgot about that
- 11:00naked man blue for the series, The Skintaker, the man
- 11:04who was completely naked on screens trying to extend his foreskin.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so, Kevin Harts again, says Jesus, it's.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Christ a skin taker. Good God, what kind of shook
- 11:18show were we watching?
- 11:19Speaker 1: As soon as he could not look at the screw
- 11:21when the skin Taker showed up, he just descended out
- 11:23of nowhere on his strings, just a dirty skeleton, wearing
- 11:27that brown top hat and cape and his glass eyes
- 11:29that were too big for his skull. Christ Almighty. It
- 11:36just goes straight from like oh yeah, Well at least
- 11:39they grinded it back down, you know.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I like, they ground it back.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Down with him being like, oh, it was a skeleton
- 11:44with a cape and hat whatever. So it's still it's
- 11:46still in the vein of this children's show. It's not
- 11:49like it's some you know, it's a.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Little too dark thematically, but you can still Yeah, definitely
- 11:55as a children's show. Yeah, I mean, if it was,
- 11:57it makes you ask the question like why were we
- 12:00why did they let kids watch this? But it doesn't
- 12:02break it out of like, Okay, we weren't watching a
- 12:05kid show yet. It's just like why would this be
- 12:07in a kid show?
- 12:08Speaker 1: I really hope that it wasn't.
- 12:09Speaker 5: Uh.
- 12:10Speaker 1: They didn't even go into it, and people were just like, yeah,
- 12:12but that wasn't the villain. It was side night Sydney.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right, side eyed Sydney. But she she wasn't.
- 12:24She wasn't the main villain.
- 12:26Speaker 1: It was al Qaeda al like, no, yeah, Alka, he
- 12:31was scary, But it just keeps going and going. That
- 12:35wasn't the villain. It was Nazi Nigel.
- 12:38Speaker 2: It was a Nazi. It was Nazi Nigel, just progressively
- 12:43more like.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys, are you know, I can see how
- 12:47you can get that wrong. But actually the main villain
- 12:49was foreskin.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Frank, they get to they get to the end, it's like, guys,
- 12:53that wasn't the villain.
- 12:54Speaker 2: It was Jeffrey Dahmer. Yeah.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and the whole and at the end of the
- 12:59deal though, show was ran by Jeffrey Dahmer.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And that's the way of it. And I like to
- 13:04think that all the puppets are just foreskin references, where
- 13:07it's just like, well, I just mean, can you imagine
- 13:10the people being like, Okay, fine, nevermine.
- 13:14Speaker 2: No, no, I would I imagine people being like I was.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Just gonna say that. Wouldn't it be fucking crazy. Wouldn't
- 13:20it be the fucking craziest fucking thing if all the
- 13:26puppets were foreskin related. And then at the end, Isaiah,
- 13:31it turns out that all the puppets were made out
- 13:33of kids foreskins, and it was a disgruntled man who
- 13:37was clipped when he was younger.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I see, I see like like they took it from
- 13:42me kind of attitude about it. You think a lot
- 13:44about children's foreskins.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And then you get the and then you get the
- 13:47classic pedophilia kind of angle that all these.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Things have, right, Yes, they always thought that I had
- 13:54that stranger danger kind of thing. Exactly.
- 13:57Speaker 1: If the creepy postle doesn't have it, then I feel
- 14:00people who.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Got laughed off the internet. Yeah, somewhere in the list
- 14:03of like actual villains, it's like, oh, pedophile Pete like
- 14:06he's a Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, they're almost They're all essentially the same character, they're
- 14:12just made of different.
- 14:13Speaker 2: For us skin anyway, of course, I'm going back.
- 14:16Speaker 1: To every puppet has a turtleneck.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so they say that Kevin Hart doesn't. Sky Shall says,
- 14:24wasn't his top head and cloak all sewn up? Crazily?
- 14:27Was that supposed to be children's skin? Sewn up crazily?
- 14:30I'm just sewing up on it, crazy style.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Wasn't supposed to be children's skin? See already? Skin angle?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Who knows? This goes back to my thesis of you
- 14:41making things like five steps further than where like they
- 14:43need to be at any time for the story. You
- 14:46just like dive in.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Mike Painter says, yeah, I think so. Remember his mouth
- 14:50didn't open and clothes, he just his jaw just slid
- 14:53back and forth. I remember the little girl said, why
- 14:56does your mouth move like that? And the skin taker
- 14:59did look at the girl but the camera and said.
- 15:01Speaker 2: The garage your skin.
- 15:04Speaker 1: That would be a bit haunting, being honest, children's television.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, to grinders again, I'd say so. Skyshow replies and says,
- 15:12I'm so relieved that other people remember this terrible show.
- 15:15I used to have this awful memory, a bad dream
- 15:18I had where the opening jingle ended, the show faded
- 15:21in from black, and all the characters were there, but
- 15:24the camera was just cutting to each of their faces
- 15:27and they were just screaming, and the puppets and marionettes
- 15:31were flailing spastically, just all screaming, screaming. The girl is
- 15:36just moaning and crying like she had been through hours
- 15:39of this. I woke up many times from that nightmare.
- 15:42I used to whet the bed when I had it.
- 15:45I don't think that was a dream. I remember that.
- 15:48I remember that was an episode. Skyshow replies and says, no, no, no,
- 15:53not possible. There was no plot or anything. I mean
- 15:56literally just standing in place crying and screaming for the
- 15:58whole show.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Maybe I manufacture the memory because you said that, but
- 16:03I swear to God, I remember seeing.
- 16:04Speaker 2: What you described. It just streamed.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Oh God, yes, little girl Janis. I remember seeing her
- 16:11shake and the skin taker screaming through his gnashing teeth,
- 16:15his jaws careening so wildly. I thought it would come
- 16:19off its wire hinges. I turned it off, and it
- 16:21was the last time I watched. I read to tell
- 16:23my brother. I already tell my brother, and we didn't
- 16:25have the courage to turn it back on. I visited
- 16:30my mom today at the nursing home. I asked her
- 16:33about when I was little, in the early seventies, when
- 16:36I was eight or nine, and if she remembered a.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Kid show Candle Cove.
- 16:39Speaker 1: She said she was surprised I couldn't remember that, and
- 16:41I asked why, and she said.
- 16:43Speaker 7: Because I used to think it was so strange that
- 16:47you said I'm gonna be or sorry, this is type weird.
- 16:51Because I used to think it was so strange that
- 16:52you said, I'm gonna go watch candle Cove now, mom,
- 16:55And then you would tune the TV the static could
- 16:57just watch dead air for thirty minutes, get a big
- 17:00imagination with your little pirate show, and.
- 17:06Speaker 2: And there you go.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Candle Coake, the classic that's a classic one of children's
- 17:12show kind of like some it vibes of like kids
- 17:14only experience it. Do you think nineteen ninety nine was
- 17:17kind of inspired by that because one of.
- 17:19Speaker 2: This again it's two to nine, okay, so this a
- 17:22story comes from like okay. So the author of this
- 17:24story was Chris Straub, who, if you're familiar with online horror,
- 17:28is like a legend. He made Local fifty eight among
- 17:31a bunch of other like horror works online. He was
- 17:34one of the first to like utilize like second generation
- 17:38Internet for horror storytelling. In my opinion, like he gave
- 17:41birth to like analog horror genre as like a horror
- 17:44genre and stuff like that. So as soon as he
- 17:48made this story and things like it, a ton of
- 17:50stories spouted off of it. I remember a bunch of people,
- 17:53like in nineteen ninety nine, the channel's calad on Local
- 17:58twenty one, but people would tie it in to like
- 18:03candle Cove, like, well they both aired on Channel fifty eighth,
- 18:08right universe kind of thing, same universe kind of thing. Yeah,
- 18:11even earlier in this story, he says that Channel fifty
- 18:14eight had candle Cove on it, and Channel fifty eight
- 18:17was you know, the basis for eventually Local fifty eight
- 18:20like the first analog core story. So like Chris Chrold
- 18:25created a lot of modern Internet horror culture, and if
- 18:28I remember right, candle Cove was a set of a
- 18:30bunch of series of stories that all spouted out at
- 18:33the same place. I mean, it was likely idea.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It's probably so influential at the time. I mean looking
- 18:39at it from there to two thousand and nine, that's like,
- 18:42that's got to be some of the reasons that like,
- 18:45I don't know, our slash No Sleep came around, because
- 18:47even the way that it's supposed to be, like oh,
- 18:49this is your posts on the Internet, like utilizing that
- 18:51kind of u that vibe of oh this is your
- 18:55actual people talking to each other, even though it's in
- 18:57a story format that I wonder what the influences to
- 19:00even just be like, oh, this is all supposed to be,
- 19:02like utilizing like Reddit as a horror you know, place
- 19:06to post a story that feels real and it's more immersive,
- 19:09even like Twitter energy is all that kind of shit,
- 19:11like it's you know, it feels like it all stems
- 19:13from this thing. And I do remember now too, there's
- 19:16that show on shutter What was that called Channel zero?
- 19:19Speaker 2: Channel zero? We've talked about that. I talked about briefly.
- 19:23The first season is about Candle Cove.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's cool to see the influence just kind
- 19:29of go over. I never finished the I think I've
- 19:31watched the first episode. I remember I thought the first
- 19:34episode was kind of cool. But I don't know if
- 19:35I don't know if the series, maybe the viewers might know,
- 19:39our listeners might have an idea if the show was
- 19:41any good, because I did you see watch Channel zero
- 19:44at all?
- 19:44Speaker 2: I remember? Okay, So from what I've heard generally mentioned
- 19:49about it online is that that like they did good
- 19:53in some places by checking taking these stories and adapting them.
- 19:57But also some authors feelt kind of slided by how
- 19:59they did it. Didn't think they interpreted it right, didn't
- 20:01think oh really adaptation. Yeah, I remember there was some
- 20:05drama about it. I would like to watch it for
- 20:07myself to know, well, you don't be fun is to
- 20:10if we did like a Creep TV for Channel zero.
- 20:13Speaker 1: If we did a Creep TV for Channel zero, but
- 20:15we should read the stuff too and then be like,
- 20:18how do they adapt it? Because like now reading candle Cove. Granted,
- 20:22it's gonna be one of those things where they're just like,
- 20:23that's a great premise and they're probably going to expand
- 20:25they're just like, let's make a full season arc out
- 20:28of like the Kid. It's probably the guys meeting up
- 20:31and being like, do you remember this thing? And then
- 20:33he like, you know, it's kind of like it you
- 20:34getting all the people back together. They come back and
- 20:36they try to figure out what the fuck was going
- 20:38on or whatever. But I think, is it each season
- 20:41a new creepypasta?
- 20:42Speaker 2: Each season's a new creepypasta? So season one is candle Cove.
- 20:46One of them's no end House. I think really that'd
- 20:49be kind of fun if I'm right. The fourth one
- 20:52is on the Search and Rescue Officer.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Butcher's Block, So it's candle Cove, no end House.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Butcher's Block, the dream Door. Those are the four seasons.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I think Dream Door might be no end House. I
- 21:05could be wrong. Hold on Channel zero, Creevy.
- 21:07Speaker 1: We'll discovered door in the basement, the secrets start to whatever.
- 21:11Butcher's blocks, young woman in her schizophrena.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Okay, sorry, no here it is. Season one's candle Cove. Yeah.
- 21:17Season two is no end House.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, and then season three is Butcher's Block, yes,
- 21:24and then season four is the Wait.
- 21:26Speaker 2: The Butcher's Block is the one that is. Uh. I'm
- 21:29a search and rescue officer, so therefore the Stairs in
- 21:32the Woods the Butcher's Blocks the one that uses stairs
- 21:34in the woods, and uh. The Dream Door is based
- 21:38on the creepy pasta the Hidden Door by Charlotte Bywater,
- 21:41which is the only one we haven't read out of
- 21:44the four that they adapted.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Oh so we all we would have to do is
- 21:47read that, And I think that'd be a fun deep
- 21:49dive horror space.
- 21:51Speaker 2: But yeah, Candle Cove was a classic for a reason.
- 21:54Shout out. After giving you like a fresh cheeseburger so
- 21:59to speak, you know, kind of short, but like does
- 22:01it's job well and stuff like that, We're now going
- 22:03to dive you into something else. So I think we
- 22:07should just skip ahead to Dead Bart. I think that's
- 22:13a great one today.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Dead Bart can't wait for this. I fucking hated the
- 22:19squid word thing, goddamn. So this is another peak era.
- 22:23This is a year after Kano Cove, so this is whenever.
- 22:27This is early on this is but I will say
- 22:30I love an early creep apasta stuff, just children writing
- 22:33horror stories. There's something about children that are so that's
- 22:36just so funny. The unfiltered nature of what they think. Yeah,
- 22:41how they articulate things so fascinating.
- 22:44Speaker 2: All right, So with that dead bart, here we go,
- 22:49written originally by K I. Simpson, could that be could
- 22:53potentially the fucking yeah, a pseudonym. We're not sure that
- 22:59has to be.
- 22:59Speaker 1: If that person was just like, I'm gonna make a
- 23:02I'm gonna make a Simpsons horror thing and they didn't
- 23:04even like put two and two together.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Okay, so here we go. You know how Fox has
- 23:12a weird way of county Simpsons episodes. They refuse to
- 23:16count a couple of them, making the amount of episodes inconsistent.
- 23:20The reason for this it's a lost episode from season one.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Okay, already I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 23:28I already don't understand what you mean by you know
- 23:32how Fox is a weird It's like, no, what do.
- 23:34Speaker 2: You what do you? What do you mean? There's there's DVD,
- 23:37there's tons of listen. Listen. This is this is the
- 23:43point because if a kid comes along and reads this.
- 23:46They're just gonna be like, oh, I guess Fox has
- 23:48a weird way of counting, but they're not gonna show yeah,
- 23:50especially person show that's an old version show exactly, exactly. Yes,
- 23:55Now you're thinking, right, you gotta put yourself in the mindset,
- 23:57I know, being nine years old scrolling through YouTube and
- 24:02hearing like readings of these stories and when a narrator
- 24:06with like scary piano music in the background, he goes,
- 24:09you know how Fox has a weird way of counting shows.
- 24:11I don't. I'm like, okay, they do, got it? I
- 24:14get it? Yeah, yeah, exactly. Now you're locked in. So
- 24:18keeping that in mind. Finding details about this missing episode
- 24:22is difficult. No one who was working on the show
- 24:25at the time likes to talk about it. From what
- 24:28has been pieced together, the last episode was written entirely
- 24:31by Matt Groening. During production of the first season, Matt
- 24:36started to act strangely. He was very quiet, seemed nervous
- 24:40and morbid. Mentioning this to anyone who missed. Mentioning this
- 24:46to anyone who was present results in them getting very
- 24:48angry and forbidding you'd ever mention it to Matt. The
- 24:53episode's production number was seven G four four. The title
- 24:57was dead Bart. In addition to getting angry, asking anyone
- 25:04who was on the show about this caused them to
- 25:06do everything they can to stop you from directly communicating
- 25:09with Matt Groening. At a fan event, I managed to
- 25:13follow him after he spoke to the crowd, and eventually
- 25:16had a chance to talk to him alone as he
- 25:18was leaving the building. He didn't seem upset that I
- 25:21had followed him, probably expected a typical encounter with an
- 25:24obsessive fan. When I mentioned the lost episode, though, all
- 25:28color drained from his face and he started trembling. When
- 25:31I asked him if he could tell me any details,
- 25:34he sounded like he was on the verge of tears.
- 25:37He grabbed a piece of paper and wrote something on
- 25:39it and handed it to me. He begged me to
- 25:42never mention the episode again. The piece of paper had
- 25:46a website address on it. I would rather not say
- 25:49what it was for reasons you'll see in a second.
- 25:53I entered the address into my browser, and I came
- 25:56to a site that was completely black except for a
- 25:58line of yellow texts a download link. I clicked on it,
- 26:03and a file started downloading. Once the file was downloaded,
- 26:06my computer went crazy. It was the worst virus I'd
- 26:09ever seen. System restored at work. The entire computer had
- 26:13to be rebooted before doing this, so I copied the
- 26:17file onto a CD. I tried to open it on
- 26:20my now empty computer, and as I suspected, there was
- 26:23an episode of The Simpsons on it. The episode started
- 26:27off like any other episode, but had very poor quality animation.
- 26:31If you've seen the original animation for some enchanted evening,
- 26:35it was similar, but less stable. The first act was
- 26:39fairly normal, but the way the characters acted was a
- 26:41little off. Homer seemed angrier, Marge seemed depressed. Releas It
- 26:46seemed anxious. Bart seemed to have genuine anger and hatred
- 26:50for his parents.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Homer seemed more angry. He strangles his son. Every episode
- 26:56he's even more angry.
- 26:58Speaker 2: He's even more angry. Now I need to take this seriously. Sorry,
- 27:03you're reading history right now.
- 27:05Speaker 1: That is true, like reading the Declaration of Independence and
- 27:08like the giggle.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yes, this is like scrolling through the Codex graphica, like
- 27:12there's a reference here.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Stand upright, Actually, one second, I'm getting ready to have diarrhea.
- 27:16Speaker 2: One second is that real? Hunter just texted me so much.
- 27:24I had a bad to Malay yesterday and it's been
- 27:28buckets of liquid ever since. Must have been a big
- 27:34to Malay. I think rotten peppers. Maybe because it's fighting
- 27:39me on its way back out, had to get chapped, sick. Gosh,
- 27:47she's disgusting. Feels like Buffalo wild wings blazing challenge. I'm
- 27:52getting so many play by plays. He keeps texting me details.
- 27:57Oh of how it's going, tearing up thinking about it.
- 27:59Oh that's really cool, dude. Okay, sorry about that. Oh
- 28:08you're good man. Okay. The episode was about the Simpsons
- 28:13going on a plane trip. You're the end of the
- 28:16first act. The plane was ticking off. Bart was fooling
- 28:19around as you'd expect. However, as the plane was about
- 28:23fifty feet off the ground, Bart broke a window on
- 28:26the plane and was sucked out. Something funny, Hunter, That's
- 28:36just funny.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I like the idea of like that, about fifty feet
- 28:39off the ground. He just broke Bart broke a window.
- 28:42He just like punched out.
- 28:43Speaker 2: A fucking window and got sucked out. The pressure difference
- 28:50wouldn't be enough at fifty feet you would.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Just like a broke close to the ground.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, planes were at fifty feet above ground for
- 29:00like a millisecond.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you're going fast, but I don't think
- 29:03you would just get immediately sucked out of the window.
- 29:07Speaker 2: No, no, no, because it's the same pressure. It's the
- 29:09same pressure in the plane and out. So now there
- 29:11wouldn't be any like pull either way. I mean speed.
- 29:13It would be like a car that's going fast and
- 29:16like there's wind outside, but wouldn't be a pressure difference.
- 29:19At the beginning of the series, Matt had an idea
- 29:22that the animated style the Simpsons world represented life and
- 29:25that death turned things more realistic. This was used in
- 29:29this episode. The picture of Bart's corpse was barely recognizable.
- 29:33It took full advantage of it not having to move
- 29:36and made it almost photorealistic drawing of his dead body.
- 29:41There we go, there's photorealism, Hunter.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I already counted it. I know, in hyperrealistic, photo realism,
- 29:47hyper realistic, and then like realistic blood. I expect to
- 29:50see all.
- 29:51Speaker 2: The similar to what you were saying at the beginning,
- 29:53where it's like, no, you didn't that idea of Like,
- 29:55Matt had an idea that the animation would represent life,
- 29:59and that death turned things more realistic. What are you
- 30:02talking about?
- 30:02Speaker 1: But once you unveiled the idea though, that, people are
- 30:05just like, yeah, you have to be like put yourself
- 30:07in the mind of a kid being like.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Sure he really did think like that, didn't he? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 30:13I've never seen the Simpsons, but I get it, you
- 30:15know what you're saying.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I also really like. I also really like and
- 30:19made an almost photo realistic drawing of his dead body.
- 30:22And it's like Bart is a like super round, bulbous
- 30:26yellow man with no hair and.
- 30:28Speaker 6: Just spice on his head, Like look, how really looks? Wow,
- 30:33It's like I'm there, damn. Act one ended with the
- 30:38shot of Bart's corpse. When Act two started, Homer, Marge,
- 30:42and Lisa were sitting at their table crying. Crying went
- 30:46on and on, got more pained, sounded more realistic, better
- 30:50acting than you would think possible.
- 30:53Speaker 2: The animation started to decay even more as they cried,
- 30:56and you could hear murmuring in the background. This crying
- 30:59went on for all of Act two. Act three opened
- 31:02with the title cards saying one year had passed. Homer,
- 31:06marsh and Lisa were skeletally thin and still sitting at
- 31:10the table. There's no sign of Maggie or the pets.
- 31:14They decided to visit Bart's grave. Springfield was completely deserted,
- 31:19and as they walked to the cemetery, the house became
- 31:21more and more decrepit. They all looked abandoned. When they
- 31:26got to the grave, Bart's body was just lying in
- 31:28front of his tombstone, looking just like it did at
- 31:31the end of Act one. The family started crying again.
- 31:35Eventually they stopped and just stared at Bart's body. The
- 31:39camera zoomed in on Homer's face. According to Summaris, Homer
- 31:43tells a joke at this part, but it is an
- 31:45audible In the version I saw, you can't tell what
- 31:47Homer is saying. The view zoomed out as the episode
- 31:51came to a close. The tombstones in the background had
- 31:55the names of every Simpson's guest star on them, some
- 31:58that no one had heard of, nine some that haven't
- 32:01been on the show yet. All of them had death
- 32:04dates on them for guests who died since like Michael
- 32:07Jackson and George Harrison, the dates were when they would die.
- 32:12You could try to use the tombstone to predict the
- 32:15death of Landing Simpson's guest stars. But there's something odd
- 32:19about most of the ones who haven't died yet. All
- 32:22their deaths are listed as the same date, Don Don.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Tom, and that's the end of dead Bart.
- 32:31Speaker 2: That was that was really lame. Yeah, oh you loved it.
- 32:35You loved it. That was pretty like all the summaries
- 32:38of it say, there's a joke like what summaries, I
- 32:40thought you had a virus to like download this on
- 32:42a piece of paper that the Matt Groening handed you.
- 32:45Also the application that there's going to be a mass
- 32:47extinction event that kills everyone that you can tell me
- 32:50you go the Simpsons episode, you can, I.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Will say, that's that was a fun twist I did
- 32:54not expect.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I thought I thought that it was just.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Going to be like I got really scared and turned
- 32:58it off. Instead, it's you know, at least said went
- 33:00the angle of being like, yeah, everyone dies the same
- 33:03day a meteor that'd be so funny.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Though.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Also, this doesn't play until I get that the Simpsons
- 33:08predict the future like that mame of course, so you
- 33:11know what, you know what, actually more branding points not bad.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yeah, way better than Ben drown way better than Ben Drowned.
- 33:17I'll say that Ben Round was good until it got
- 33:20to the text part. I liked the part of Ben
- 33:22Tround that was like, uh, I found the game from
- 33:25this old man. It's like, we are now on to
- 33:29Gateway of the mind. Are you ready for this one?
- 33:32Gateway of the Mind. This was actually one of my
- 33:35favorites when I was a kid. When I read this one,
- 33:37this was like one of my top I loved this
- 33:39one a lot. Written by important to me.
- 33:42Speaker 1: So by an anonymous author. I don't even want to
- 33:44tell you I am.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I need you to take this seriously, Hunt, I am,
- 33:50because it's meant a lot to me. This is a
- 33:52very important story to me, Hunter, Okay, yep, all right.
- 33:56In nineteen eighty three, a team of deeply pious scientists
- 34:00conducted a radical experiment in an undisclosed facility. I like
- 34:04that pious radical undisclosed, Like.
- 34:09Speaker 1: We have Webster's Dictionary here writing the story.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Where they're unlocked. Dude, this was revolutionary. If you read
- 34:16like dead bart and Jeff the Killer, then you get
- 34:17all three of those adjectives. Yeah, and then it's like,
- 34:20WHOA did a professor Oh.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Yeah, this is an A plus student for sure.
- 34:27Speaker 2: The scientists had theorized that a human without access to
- 34:30any senses or ways to perceive stimuli, would be able
- 34:33to perceive the presence of God. They believe that the
- 34:37five senses clouded our awareness of eternity, and without them,
- 34:40a human could actually establish contact with God. By thought
- 34:45an elderly man who claimed to have nothing left to
- 34:48live for it's the only test subject to volunteer to
- 34:51purchaim of all his senses. The scientists performed a complex
- 34:54operation which every sensory nerve connection to the brain was
- 34:57surgically severed. Although the subject retained full muscular function, he
- 35:02couldnt see, hear, taste, smell, or feel. With no possible
- 35:07way to communicate with or even since the outside world,
- 35:11he was alone with his thoughts. Scientists monitored him as
- 35:15he spoke aloud about his state of mind and jumbled
- 35:18slurred sentences that he couldn't even hear. After four days,
- 35:23the man claimed to be hearing hushed, unintelligible voices in
- 35:26his head. Assuming it was an onset of psychosis, the
- 35:30scientists paid little attention to the man's concerns. Two days later,
- 35:35the man cried that he could hear his dead wife
- 35:37speaking with him, and even more, he could communicate back.
- 35:42The scientists were intrigued, but were not convinced until the
- 35:45subjects started naming dead relatives of the scientists. He repeated
- 35:49personal information to the scientists, and only their dead spouses
- 35:52and parents would have known. At this point, a sizable
- 35:56portion of scientists left the study. After a week of
- 35:59convert with the deceased through his thoughts, the subject became distressed,
- 36:03saying the voices were overwhelming. In every waking moment, his
- 36:07consciousness was bombarded by hundreds of voices that refused to
- 36:11leave him alone. He frequently threw himself against the wall,
- 36:14trying to elicit a pain response. He begged the scientists
- 36:18for sedatives so he could escape the voices by sleeping.
- 36:21Statrick worked for three days until he started having severe
- 36:24night tears. The subject repeatedly said that he could see
- 36:28and hear the deceased in his dreams. Only a day later,
- 36:33the subject began to scream and clawed his non functional eyes,
- 36:36hoping to sense something in the physical world. The hysterical
- 36:40subject now said the voices of the dead were deafening
- 36:43and hostile. Speaking of Hell in the end of the world.
- 36:47At one point, he yelled ne, then ne. For five
- 36:54hours straight, he continually begged to be killed, but the
- 36:59scientists were convinced that he was close to establishing contact
- 37:02with God. Don't let the hunter. Don't laugh, it's serious.
- 37:09He's speaking of Hell.
- 37:11Speaker 1: He's right, by God, He's so close. You're almost there, buddy,
- 37:17dam many And they're just like, he's right at Heaven's
- 37:24doorstep right now, guys, just give him a couple more days.
- 37:27Speaker 2: God Like, he's like, he's like, look, I know, the
- 37:31scientist is standing in front of the glass, like, I
- 37:33know this looks bad, but hypothetically, like we we all
- 37:39think the devil. What's the opposite of the devil? God? Right, boom,
- 37:42He's got almost there, God right there has to be close.
- 37:47After another day, the subject could no longer form coherent sentences.
- 37:52Seemingly mad, he started to bite off chunks of flesh
- 37:55from his arm. The scientists rushed into the test chamber
- 37:58and restrained him to a table so he cannot kill himself.
- 38:01After a few hours of being tied down, the subject
- 38:03halted his struggling and screaming. He stared blankly at the ceiling.
- 38:07His tear dropped silently streaked across his face. For two weeks,
- 38:11the subject had to be manually rehydrated due to the
- 38:14constant crime. Eventually, he turned his head and, despite his blindness,
- 38:20made focused eye contact with the scientist for the first
- 38:23time in the study. He whispered, I had spoke, oh
- 38:27my god, and he had abandon and his vital signs stopped.
- 38:34There was no apparent cause of death the end. That's
- 38:42so funny.
- 38:45Speaker 1: One thing I like about this is there was no
- 38:46apparent signs of cause of death. Wasn't he like ripping
- 38:49out his eyes and biting his flash and stuff.
- 38:52Speaker 2: There was no apparent cause of death.
- 38:55Speaker 1: There was nothing. I want to say this though, I
- 38:58want to say this the idea, so this is actually
- 39:01a sick idea, Like the idea of this is really
- 39:04really cool. It reminds me a lot of Martyrs. If
- 39:08you want to even this idea is closed.
- 39:09Speaker 2: That was actually that was actually what I was gonna say.
- 39:12I'm pretty sure that this was just like the Martyrs concept.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think that the movie came out
- 39:19which Martyrs, the French version I think came I to
- 39:21thos and eight, So maybe they just saw it. They're like,
- 39:22oh cool, because it seems like it's a mixture of
- 39:25martyrs and Russian sleep experiment.
- 39:26Speaker 2: That's what it feels like to me. Yes, exactly it
- 39:29martyrs if.
- 39:29Speaker 1: You haven't For people who haven't seen martyrs in the
- 39:31French film, it's all about like a high society where basically
- 39:35like billionaires or whatever, we'll pay to come in and
- 39:40they basically take people and torture them as a martyr
- 39:44because the only people that have ever been who have
- 39:46contacted to be to see God is right before you
- 39:49die as a martyr, and you're like basically tortured basically
- 39:53like christ like levels of torture, you're able to like
- 39:57see God and people are able to like look in
- 39:59your eyes and see like reflections of Heaven. It's very
- 40:02it's very odd, but it's an awesome movie, like it's
- 40:05worth it's crazy, so you know, fucking warning.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, the idea is if you torture someone enough,
- 40:11they're able to establish a connection with God or like
- 40:14God will speak to them. Yeah, and I really like
- 40:18is it the remaker the original French one where the
- 40:20lady who set it up kills herself at the end
- 40:22because of what the martyr whispers to were.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I think the American one, the English one is so
- 40:26not worth watching. Just watch the French one that the
- 40:29English one sucks, it's not worth it. But the uh
- 40:32I like the idea of a guy being I like
- 40:34also they established a homeless guy who had nothing left
- 40:37to live for because I signed up. But at the
- 40:40same time, you know, I like, it's it's fun, it's short,
- 40:43it's it's punchy. Hey, you know the whole thing. Oh
- 40:45see God, but really sees the you know, he sees
- 40:47hell and all that stuff. To me, that's like fon schlocky,
- 40:52you know, stuff that happens. I would be curious to see,
- 40:54like somebody come in and you know, make this like
- 40:57a full fledged thing, because you could also get the characters.
- 41:00Are all there conflicted scientists who want to do these things?
- 41:04Speaker 2: Can you know?
- 41:04Speaker 1: Back and forth there the homeless guy, why does he
- 41:07want to do this?
- 41:07Speaker 2: You know, there was a visual project that was created
- 41:11at the same time. I think, oh, actually, I think
- 41:13this is it at the end. Yeah, if you scrawll
- 41:15the way down to the end and watch that little
- 41:16YouTube video that's two minutes long. This came out at
- 41:19the same time. Uh so every reading of it you
- 41:23would find online had this video paired with it.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Oh, that's creepy.
- 41:28Speaker 2: It's like someone building clay around their face.
- 41:30Speaker 1: And then oh, it's that he's a that's a French
- 41:33performance artist. I know exactly who this is. He puts
- 41:36clay on his face, that's like his whole thing.
- 41:38Speaker 2: He has agree of course you would know where it is.
- 41:40Of course he was.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I think whoever showed me this the first time, I'm
- 41:42pretty sure was James Lee showed me this. Uh this
- 41:46guy very weird, disturbing stuff. But usually he like puts
- 41:49clan's face, like takes his thumbs and makes like holes
- 41:52out of it or like polk into it. But yeah,
- 41:54this is like a I think, like a pretty well
- 41:56known French performance artist. Very cool, very weird stuff.
- 42:02Speaker 2: The YouTube channel that posted this is the same YouTube
- 42:07YouTube channel that posted Blankroom dot Soup or blank Roomsoup
- 42:11dot av i, which is like a famous early YouTube
- 42:15like scary video that got passed around, and they posted
- 42:20the original Squidward suicide and stuff like that.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just they're the og homies. I mean I'm
- 42:26pretty sure that they they I think that they probably
- 42:28made that black and white and they put the music
- 42:31behind it. Oh sure, because usual that guy's stuff is
- 42:33in color. I'm pretty sure. But I'm pretty sure he
- 42:36still does stuff too, So you.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Know, dude, Okay, this is I was scrolling through this
- 42:41guy's channel who posted it, and we can show this
- 42:44image on screen. When I was a kid, I remember
- 42:46seeing this picture of like a guy who says that
- 42:49there was a demon that appeared behind him in a photograph.
- 42:52I remember seeing this when I was like ten years old,
- 42:54and I like couldn't sleep for days. Really, Yeah, that
- 42:59like face over shoulder.
- 43:03Speaker 1: The weird dog face over his shoulder.
- 43:06Speaker 2: The clearly like it's like it's like a retriever of
- 43:09some kind over his love shoulder. I saw this thing
- 43:13in the corner of every room I walked into for
- 43:16a while.
- 43:18Speaker 5: Rocky Rocky Mountain paranormal research society.
- 43:21Speaker 1: She's like a guy sitting in his mom's mom's living room.
- 43:26Speaker 2: I imagine that's what most paranormal research society is.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I'm pretty sure that's where all of them
- 43:31are based out of.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I love that though.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Just I love the whimsy and mysticism of being a
- 43:38young and should we should we move on, Let's.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Move on, Let's move on. But yes, Gateway to the
- 43:44Mine was huge for me. I love this one. When
- 43:46I was a kid, to the mind or anything like that,
- 43:51I just like, I just liked the well, candle Cove
- 43:53is the best, But Gateweight to the Mine was just
- 43:55such a fun concept that if you shut off all
- 43:57sensory you can like speak to God. Yeah, yeah, I
- 44:01like that.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I like that big grandiose, cheesy stuff.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:04Speaker 1: I like the the God has a ended us whatever
- 44:08that kind of stuff.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Do we read he should he should really not be named?
- 44:12Since it's like two hundred words.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Yeah, alright, a candle jack.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Here, you're not supposed to name him hunter? Oh sorry, sorry, sorry, gosh, Okay,
- 44:25he should who should really not be named? Candlejack? I'm
- 44:29super serious. I'm being serious right now. In this world
- 44:34there exists a spirit, neither male nor female. The spirit
- 44:37is covered with a dark cloth, with a separate white
- 44:41cloth to cover its head. It is said to carry
- 44:45enormous brown burlap sack. So there's three cloths, white cloth
- 44:50of black cloth and a brown three different colored cloth,
- 44:53three cloth, three cloth. It is said that the second
- 44:56its name has been called out, either directly or indirectly,
- 45:00the person is collected and becomes the property of the spirit.
- 45:04So many who have witnessed its appearance have been said
- 45:07to have gone insane and were later found with their
- 45:09eyes scouched out. The spirit is very, very real. The
- 45:14failure to prevent the mention of its name will cause
- 45:17candle Jack to come and whisk you away. I said it.
- 45:19I said it at the NBA.
- 45:22Speaker 1: You indirectly said it, And now you're going to be
- 45:24You're dead.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I'm in the sack. I'm in the sack, and my
- 45:27eyes get pulled out. You.
- 45:28Speaker 1: You are a fucking dead hyperrealistic. Blood is pouring all
- 45:31over you.
- 45:31Speaker 2: You're dead all over I'm dead. I'm dead. That's That's
- 45:34the entire story. When I just reads the whole thing,
- 45:36that's the whole thing.
- 45:38Speaker 1: But see, that's that's a classic.
- 45:40Speaker 2: One of the top rated one of the classic stories
- 45:43listed on group of FASA dot com.
- 45:45Speaker 1: You know what, though, once again, way to set up
- 45:47a nice little way to to kind of fuck over
- 45:49the reader at the end.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I like that well that You've got to realize most
- 45:53of these are being read by like eight year olds. Yeah, dude,
- 45:56that's sick. Yeah, to be a kid back then and
- 45:58be like, yeah, can't.
- 46:06Speaker 1: That kind of thing would be awesome.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Absolutely, Yea. I remember being so scared by some of
- 46:11these I couldn't sleep. I like, no joke, not that
- 46:14one specifically that I remember, but one of them. Okay,
- 46:19So we're reading har O'Brien, Haro Obrian. I'm like, that's
- 46:23what we're reading me and you.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I clicked it and it's a it's a Minecraft person.
- 46:31Speaker 2: You better believe it. So Haro O'Brien. The you know
- 46:35about harro'brien, right.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I feel like i've I feel like I've heard of it.
- 46:39I just don't.
- 46:39Speaker 2: I've not. I don't know what it is. I've like, well,
- 46:43we'll read the story first, I'll talk about impact on stuff.
- 46:46So I had recently spawned a new world, single player Minecraft.
- 46:52Everything was normal at first. As I began chopping down
- 46:55trees and crafting a work bench, I noticed something move
- 46:58amongst the dense fog. I have a very slow computer,
- 47:01so I have to play with a tiny render distance.
- 47:05I thought it was a cow, so I pursued it,
- 47:08hoping to grab some hides for armor. It wasn't a cow, though,
- 47:12looking back at me was another character with the default skin,
- 47:16but his eyes were empty. I saw no name pop up,
- 47:20and I double checked to make sure I wasn't in
- 47:21multiplayer mode. He didn't stay long. He looked at me
- 47:25and quickly ran into the fog. I pursued out of curiosity,
- 47:30but he was gone. I continued on with the game,
- 47:34not sure what to think. As I expanded the world,
- 47:36I saw things that seemed at a place for the
- 47:39random map generator to make two by two tunnels and
- 47:42the rocks, small perfect pyramids made of sand in the ocean,
- 47:47and groves of trees with all their leaves cut off.
- 47:51I would constantly think I saw the other player in
- 47:54the deep fog, but I never got a better look
- 47:56at him. I tried increasing my render distance to whenever
- 48:01I thought I saw him, but it was to no avail.
- 48:04I saved the map and went on the forums to
- 48:07see if anyone else had found the pseudo player. There
- 48:10were none. I created my own topic, telling of the
- 48:14man and asking if anyone had a similar experience. The
- 48:17post was deleted within five minutes. I tried again, and
- 48:21the topic was deleted even faster. I received a PM
- 48:25from user name harro'brin containing one word stop. When I
- 48:32went to look at Harrobrun's profile the page four oh four,
- 48:37I received an email from another forum user. He claimed
- 48:40the mods can read the forum user messages, so we
- 48:43were safe for using email. The emailer claimed that he
- 48:47had seen the mystery player too, and had a small
- 48:50directory of other users who had seen him as well.
- 48:53Their worlds were littered with obviously man made features as well,
- 48:57and described their mystery player to have no pupils. About
- 49:01a month passed until I heard from my informant again.
- 49:05Some of the people who had encountered the Mystery Man
- 49:07had looked into the name Harro O'Brien and found that
- 49:10the name to be a frequently used by a Swedish gamer.
- 49:13After some further information gathering, it was revealed to be
- 49:16the brother of Notch, James developer. I personally emailed Notch
- 49:22and asked him if he had a brother. It took
- 49:25him a while, but he emailed me back a very
- 49:26short message, and then I hated no longer with us.
- 49:33I haven't seen the Mystery Man since our first encounter,
- 49:36and I haven't noticed any changes to the world other
- 49:38than my own. I was able to press prince screen
- 49:41when I first saw him, here's the only evidence of
- 49:44his existence. And then this image right here, Yeah, I
- 49:49see I see the I see him down the bottom left.
- 49:52Speaker 1: The original hair brin post on four chan by anonymous
- 49:54user Wow.
- 49:57Speaker 2: So let me tell you how impactful as was so
- 50:01this thing. This was early days of Minecraft two, like
- 50:04when the game first came out, and this made its
- 50:07way everywhere to the degree that Notch would make jokes
- 50:10about it, Notch, which we like, I don't have a
- 50:12brother named Harrobrien or whatever, and then he started putting
- 50:16it in the patch notes. So every time there was
- 50:18an update, the final patch note would always read removed Hero'brien,
- 50:22as if he was an entity, like he couldn't get
- 50:24out of the game. So people would make stories about this.
- 50:28All the early Minecraft animations would feature Harrobrien as the enemy.
- 50:31And I can say firsthand how well the story worked
- 50:33because I had two younger sisters and I was really
- 50:36into Minecraft. My younger sisters liked to play Minecraft with me,
- 50:40and they added a Harrowbrien's skin to the game. So
- 50:43I would turn name tags off in the settings, and
- 50:47then I would put on the Harrowbrien Skin and I
- 50:49would go stand on hillsides at night, so were the
- 50:53like I remember one dude, I remember what time sisters
- 51:00like I saw another just like building a cute little
- 51:03house or whatever, and one of my sisters just like
- 51:06glanced over to the hillside and they stare at me
- 51:09for a second and then she goes, I hear it
- 51:12through the house before I hear it in the game.
- 51:16Just my other sisters like starting to cry, like what
- 51:22what what? What is it?
- 51:25Speaker 1: So let me let me ask you this, Let me
- 51:29ask you this. So it's obviously a ghost of the game, right,
- 51:32it's like a gus of not just dead.
- 51:34Speaker 2: The idea is not his dead brother died and you
- 51:36can't live with the game yet.
- 51:38Speaker 1: So but he doesn't really do anything. Was it just
- 51:42because we creepy?
- 51:44Speaker 2: Here's what you got to realize with a lot of
- 51:45these early creepypasta stories, it is a blueprint, right, so
- 51:50it's like, here's the premise, do with it what you want.
- 51:53Speaker 1: So it's like more so people took this story and
- 51:55they just started making tons of skill.
- 51:57Speaker 2: It's like it with a hook handed man. So you
- 52:00can tell friends at a campfire and like freak him
- 52:02out with a bank or something like that.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I I once again, it's awesome to
- 52:07see how these things formulate. But I bet you anything,
- 52:10there was tons. I have to imagine, there was tons
- 52:14and tons of uh people's like videos and stare like
- 52:18people who like would write their own and be like yeah,
- 52:20I saw.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Him and he he killed my dog or you know
- 52:22what I mean. It was a whole genre of early
- 52:26Minecraft YouTuber to be like harrol'brien hunting, where it would
- 52:30be like these five hour series of them going through Minecraft.
- 52:33I mean, like this tree looks like it's been shopped
- 52:36down before, like, and we put together clues to see
- 52:38if we can find harro'brien in our game. And whenever
- 52:41Minecraft moding got to be popular, that's when it really
- 52:45took off because people would program these entities that have
- 52:48like a one percent chance of spawning that look like Harrolbrien.
- 52:51So then people would make legitimate Harrowbrien hunting videos for
- 52:54maybe at the end of the five hours they do
- 52:56see him for a second and then he disappears, like whoa. Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:00It became like a whole genre of like gaming horror
- 53:04on YouTube and stuff like that, and so it's kind
- 53:06of making a resurgence. I've seen a lot of really
- 53:08cool Minecraft hormonds lately that do similar things to that,
- 53:11but harro Obrian was a classic.
- 53:12Speaker 1: I was gonna say, the new the newest one feels
- 53:14like that feels comparable to that. Is like all the
- 53:16back room stuff, all the backroom games that came out
- 53:19very similar, different like you know, liminal horror stuff that
- 53:23got you know, of the big thing with the kids,
- 53:26that kid angles. I was like, oh, this is definitely
- 53:28starting to get into the kid territory. Is It'd be
- 53:30like large, creepy industrials thing and then all of a
- 53:33sudden there'd be like giant.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Slides and like pools.
- 53:35Speaker 1: That's why I was like, Oh, that's that's when we're
- 53:38That's that's how you know we're in the thick of
- 53:40the the children era of it. Now, you know, big, colorful,
- 53:43weird uncanny like maybe there's like Poppy play yeah, exactly,
- 53:48Poppy's playtime area.
- 53:50Speaker 2: But yeah, So that was the original four champ post
- 53:54and then from there it blew up. It went everywhere.
- 53:57It became like a recurring theme, like and people would
- 54:00use it to prank each other with. But I will
- 54:02say that when like I first read about this story,
- 54:05there was an undeniable creep factor to it because Minecraft
- 54:08has a lot of randomly generated structures, So like you'll
- 54:12be digging deep underground and come across an abandoned mine
- 54:15shaft all of a sudden, and like as a kid,
- 54:18I would always do that and like halfway through be like,
- 54:21is there actually something in the game? Yeah, yeah, right
- 54:25back out there. It's like, Okay, well I guess that's funny.
- 54:29Someone come play with me. Yeah. Yeah. So it worked
- 54:32for what it was, but it was very simplistic to
- 54:34begin with, of course, but that's all it needed to be,
- 54:36just a blueprint. Yeah, so there's harro O'Brien un dun uh.
- 54:45The Hooded Man sounds familiar, but I don't remember. It's
- 54:48only five minutes we could read it.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Twenty sixteen we got to read it's one of the
- 54:51top ones, hood It is one of the top and
- 54:54it's written by anonymous author. So you know that's how
- 54:56that's another man.
- 54:57Speaker 2: How can we miss out on that? Okay, all right,
- 55:00so Hoodie the Hooded Man, have you ever been influenced
- 55:05by clothing? I don't mean confidence, by looks. Have you
- 55:10ever been given more control than ever by an item,
- 55:13or a truth or just a favorite schure? Have you
- 55:15ever been influenced in the worst way by showing the truth?
- 55:19The following is taken directly from journal entries Just a journal.
- 55:28The entries were written by a notorious but unknown killer.
- 55:31Notorious but unknown. He is notorious in the means that
- 55:35everybody has seen his work. He has unknown because nobody
- 55:38knows that he has done it. His origin is unusual,
- 55:42no troubles, no evil family, no magic or paranormal forces.
- 55:46His life was chosen by him and him alone. His
- 55:50identity is also unknown. He will be named from here
- 55:53on as the hooded Man.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Hell Yeah, hell Yeah.
- 56:00Speaker 2: April third, two thousand and four. It's been really cold
- 56:03around here. I don't how do we set up a
- 56:07man who needs to put on a hoodie? Man, it's
- 56:09so cold. I wish I had a hoodie. It's been
- 56:12really cold around here.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Fuck I wish I all my I have no articles
- 56:17of clothing, was exposed to the elements.
- 56:21Speaker 2: If only there was a way. It's been really cold
- 56:25around here. I don't have anything really to cover myself.
- 56:28All I have with my T shirts and jeans. So
- 56:31today I decided to get a jacket, the kind of
- 56:34things you would journal about. Sure, I was just in
- 56:37a local store, nothing special. It's a black hoodie with
- 56:41a white lining. I think it looks pretty cool. And
- 56:44when I tried it on, the attendant said it suits
- 56:47me fine. I said, thanks to be polite. Common courtesy
- 56:51is so hard to find.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Oh god, dude, fuck, this is like some serious like common.
- 56:57So I bought a black hood King.
- 57:03Speaker 2: It's the David King voice. Ye, so how can you
- 57:10read this next one? In the voice?
- 57:13Speaker 8: So I bought it. I haven't taken it off yet.
- 57:16Not only is it war, but I can really see
- 57:18myself doing amazing things in it.
- 57:20Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 57:23Speaker 9: What do you mean?
- 57:25Speaker 8: When I look at the mirror, I smirk.
- 57:28Speaker 2: I feel amazing when I look in the mirror. He
- 57:33just does not bad bad.
- 57:37Speaker 8: I can't really explain it, but I like it. I
- 57:40really like it.
- 57:42Speaker 10: I feel the need to put my hood up, something
- 57:44about something about the hood as a way of masking
- 57:47a person even though it shows their face, and hide
- 57:51something somewhere somewhere.
- 57:55Speaker 11: It's really late right now. I've been feeling so great
- 57:58all day time, blue around to explain what tomorrow.
- 58:02Speaker 2: All right, soul.
- 58:04Speaker 1: I love that this first entry as a guy being
- 58:06like I'm cold, I'm gonna go I'm gonna go to
- 58:09a random store, like probably a Walmart. And he's just like, yeah,
- 58:12I feel like I want to kill somebody. That's a
- 58:17hundred percent words going the The Jacket's telling me they
- 58:20kill people.
- 58:22Speaker 2: I have to kill someone. Now. April tenth, I've had
- 58:26a hell of a week. I felt so great. I
- 58:29walked the halls like a big show. I like, I
- 58:33just understood that he's in school, middle school.
- 58:37Speaker 11: Well, yeah, exactly, He's like, whoever switted? This is also
- 58:40thirty eight years old.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Of course, of course I'm sure I look smug. That's
- 58:45why Jack challenged me. He was so angry. Yeah, I
- 58:51won't see. All of these early stories were like I'm
- 58:54the kid who gets picked serial killer, who's hot with Jackie.
- 59:00This is also in the same area of like early
- 59:03like seeing Emo kids, you know it all kind of sixteen.
- 59:08Speaker 1: This is the This is like the four chainer red pillar,
- 59:10probably Jacket.
- 59:12Speaker 2: This is this is when it started out. This is
- 59:14like start of it. Most of this stuff though, like
- 59:16Jeff the Killer laughing Jack stuff like that was like
- 59:21scene scene yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He was so angry.
- 59:27Who never do ignore? Wait? Who never do? Ignoring an
- 59:31insult was more insulting than responding with shrewd comments about
- 59:36someone's family. He antagonized me. He asked for it. He
- 59:41threw a hard punch and I stood it stung harder
- 59:45than before when I actually argued with him. I felt
- 59:48so cool all week? Wait, is all that happened? He
- 59:51got he.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Got punched in the face. He got punched in the
- 59:54face by a guy.
- 59:55Speaker 2: He took it.
- 59:56Speaker 8: He's just like it barely hood and walked.
- 59:59Speaker 12: Down even get he didn't even fight back. Yeah, so
- 1:00:01he's like that so cool a week. My confidence kept
- 1:00:06me on. I punched him hard in the stomach and
- 1:00:09I lifted him up with an undercook.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: It felt so good, it really did. Parents calling April fourteenth,
- 1:00:19Jack still isn't out of the hospital. So hard he's
- 1:00:24like all of his organs are failing. It was like, well,
- 1:00:27he said, he lifted him off the ground, so it's
- 1:00:29like you're like dragging drag Yeah, like like you can
- 1:00:35see the fists go through his back. Yeah, oh my god, Cagarage,
- 1:00:40you hit him way too hard.
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: I didn't mean to begeta. I just come on.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Him that hard, Gugarager. Your voice once identical to what
- 1:00:52it and it's normal. Never mind, that's voices. Actually, it's
- 1:00:57there's nothing weird with it with all. It's weird about
- 1:01:00it at all.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I feel like you actually sound a little better today.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: Thanks, I'm so hungry.
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: I'm gonna eat a big ball of food I got train.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: All right, that sounds good, Okay, thank you for telling
- 1:01:16me that.
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm just saying, I gotta go to King Kay's
- 1:01:20plate and.
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: Hope that monkey doesn't chase me around because I'm hungry.
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: I gotta eat a big old I'm gonna eat forty
- 1:01:27bulls of ramen because I'm I have I have an
- 1:01:31inquenchable appetite.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Cool.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: That sounds pretty, park actually got.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: So, why don't you go ahead and just do that.
- 1:01:48I'm gonna go sleep with Balma now, I'm going I'm
- 1:01:51going to have sex with Boma.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Ah okay, growth, Yeah, why don't you just trains?
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I mean it sounds fine, but I just I you know,
- 1:02:03I don't know. I just I feel like I need
- 1:02:05some distance from you, Gagarote.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know where I'm.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Just I'll just lett you have with that one. Jack
- 1:02:20still isn't out of the hospital. They said he's in
- 1:02:23a lot of pain. He spit a lot of blood,
- 1:02:25his parents told me over the phone. I reflected on
- 1:02:29it on how great it felt when my first when
- 1:02:32my fist connected, how his crack scream sounded. That's good
- 1:02:37to hear, I said, blankly. I don't care about Jack.
- 1:02:43I smiled at his pain. I keep staring. I keep
- 1:02:47staring at my mirror. I'm always wearing my favorite hoodie.
- 1:02:51It feels so empowering. My friends would laugh at what
- 1:02:56I say. They would compare me to Spider Man, and
- 1:03:00it's black suits.
- 1:03:03Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty much. Vino is taken over me from.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Spider Man issue to seventy four.
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: I have. I have a bit of a duck inside.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna I almost I'm almost like fucking Capodia or droopy.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: At this point, you are getting well, you go, well,
- 1:03:30it's somewhere between droopy and like Steuwie Griffin.
- 1:03:34Speaker 8: Made black suits.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: What makes it, what makes it droopy is like you
- 1:03:39had like the you had like the the.
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: They have to do this and they made black she.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: There there's droopy.
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: Have created me to things he used to do.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: It's funny to imagine this emo kid is like Luntunes
- 1:03:58character walking around.
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: The overweight teenager. And they have made black Shoe too.
- 1:04:05Now everyone seeks seems to e.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: This is going to be hit the rest of the
- 1:04:12hooded man's.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Voice by the way.
- 1:04:15Speaker 12: He feels so much by okay, they would compare me
- 1:04:20to Spider Man in his black suit.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Spider Man threw his power away. I don't plan on
- 1:04:25doing anything. It's my source of confidence. April twenty second,
- 1:04:30Jack has gone to a better Please. The words rang
- 1:04:36through my ears. He's dead. Lost too much blood, he said,
- 1:04:42lost to.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: My so so hard that they're like his body will
- 1:04:50not retain blood in the hot.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Hospital he's been. He's one of the hospital for for
- 1:04:58twelve two weeks and they couldn't do what he was
- 1:05:02bleeding to me, he's leading, he's he is. He is
- 1:05:06like bleeding for this fat This fat kid punched him
- 1:05:10so hard in the stomach.
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: Powerful individually, he said, a stylish Jackie made jackies.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Oh. His father told me the day I visited that
- 1:05:27he was losing blood due to a personal health condition.
- 1:05:31But the way his mother looked at me and told
- 1:05:33me the real story. I killed him. Did I still
- 1:05:37remember the satisfaction of hitting him? I never wanted to
- 1:05:41kill him. I need to think about what I've done right.
- 1:05:45That'll fix my feelings. But what is there to think about?
- 1:05:50Regret is a foolish emotion. I don't regret. I don't
- 1:05:54need regret.
- 1:05:56Speaker 8: Regret. They need.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Jicky. This is great to imagine that he becomes a
- 1:06:08serial killer that punches people.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: If he if he is only if he is only
- 1:06:12a serial killer that punches people. This very well may
- 1:06:16be a better premise than Jeff the Killer.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Dare I say honestly yes, But that's that's a low
- 1:06:22bar to like get over.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but that the leg I'm just saying, like the
- 1:06:25legacy edge.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Yea of the punch the Hoodie Punchman.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: One man, the American, the American apparel hoodie punch Man.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Yeah. May actually, you know, I like to think I
- 1:06:40like to.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Think that he went to Buckle and it's one of
- 1:06:41those ones that had like a it was like an affliction.
- 1:06:43One had like a giantjeweled cross on it.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: And he's like, it feels to the cross is good.
- 1:06:49But what you're really what it really needs to be.
- 1:06:50You remember the rock Star energy merch everyone wore for
- 1:06:53a while shoes, It's like that it's got the giant
- 1:06:56rock star star like it's either.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Rock Star or it's any it's any snowboarding or Mike
- 1:07:01or motorocross shirt from packs on us.
- 1:07:02Speaker 8: And he's like, yes, don't they've never reading your movie?
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: What was that one motocross brand everyone would wear fox
- 1:07:10never Yes, yes, fox yep.
- 1:07:14Speaker 11: Yeah, they actually be free to I can't write the basically,
- 1:07:20it'll be free to lady.
- 1:07:22Speaker 8: He's dude's bakeday with late.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Yeah you got it. April twenty fourth. Dad has been
- 1:07:30avoiding me late. My mom just tells me she loves me.
- 1:07:38Wi diag, I love your son. Yeah. He comes into
- 1:07:43the rooms floating like just like like pounding his fist
- 1:07:47into his head, like where is that.
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: Which they have his tamwich chileng to give him.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: I like to think that this character he walks in
- 1:07:57and his his hands are underneath, his hands are in
- 1:08:00between two pieces of bread, is dead hungry.
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: I have a sandwich I'd like to give him me.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Oh, they both want me to feel endless guilt, but
- 1:08:12I won't or rather. I can't. Oh God, I can't
- 1:08:17fake it for the public. But the truth is, I'm
- 1:08:20not sorry. Spider Man's story is starting to make me
- 1:08:24think more. But what, But why would a cursed or
- 1:08:28possessed hoodie land in my possession. Everybody who knew Jack
- 1:08:33glares at me. Everyone who I would talk to have
- 1:08:38transferred themselves out of my class or went to a
- 1:08:40different school. Teachers don't look at me much. Get on
- 1:08:44to me if I'm breaking any rule. Today I threw
- 1:08:47a pencil at my history teacher. He hit his shoulder.
- 1:08:50He just froze for a second and continued what he
- 1:08:53was doing. Everyone either hates me, probably wants me dead,
- 1:08:58or they fear me. My writing is the only comfort
- 1:09:01I have. I can be at peace and let myself go.
- 1:09:06April twenty fifth, They provoked me, they threatened me. I
- 1:09:14had no choice. They would have killed me. My hood
- 1:09:18protected my face. The knife naturally moved from Rob's hand
- 1:09:22to mine. I didn't mean to. The writing was a
- 1:09:25short line at this point. April thirtieth, five days, five
- 1:09:31days being interrogated, sleeping in the cell. They decided I
- 1:09:35was only defending myself. I can hear Mom and Dad's talking.
- 1:09:39They want me gone. They're both scared. I was an
- 1:09:42idiot to think that this jacket of mine was possessing
- 1:09:45me or changing my personality. It's just a really cool jacket.
- 1:09:49I love how it looks. I feel like such a badass.
- 1:09:56I remember how I put the hood up, put it
- 1:09:58up when Jack challenged me. I put it up when
- 1:10:01those guys tried to kill me. I feel no remorse,
- 1:10:05I feel indifferent. I'm in control. I have finally come
- 1:10:09to realize insanity. I wanted to kill them, all of them.
- 1:10:14I needed only a push and the confidence to fight.
- 1:10:18I got it. Mom and Dad are irritating me. They
- 1:10:22all irritated me.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: The So you know what's funny about this? I just
- 1:10:28want to say this immediately. This is extreme, and not
- 1:10:32to make a lot of it. This is extreme school
- 1:10:34shooter vibes of course.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's yeah. And it's people. I wish, yeah,
- 1:10:41I wish.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: That he just punched more people. Also, it's funny too
- 1:10:44to think that like the cops like would let him
- 1:10:46just wear the jacket in his cell.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Well, it is just a jacket, right, what it is.
- 1:10:52But usually if you get.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Moved in, they have you, you'll take off your personal
- 1:10:55possessions and we'll keep it and then they give you
- 1:10:57like a uniform or whatever. If I think if you're
- 1:11:00there over a night, first multiple days, I could be wrong,
- 1:11:02but yeah, I this idea which I want to say this,
- 1:11:07I'd say, if people are feeling because this feels like
- 1:11:09somebody who's like everybody in my life is rounding me whatever,
- 1:11:14maybe just write a fun story instead of doing something crazy.
- 1:11:18I also think we need to have a new arc
- 1:11:20of this kind of character, the badass, like the misunderstood
- 1:11:24badass kid who's just like it shouldn't have provoked me.
- 1:11:27This story is lost because it's it's a it's so
- 1:11:32you know, wrapped in. People are like it's cheesy and stupid.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: I said, bring it, bring it back, dude, bring it back. Please. Yep,
- 1:11:40I agree. I I personally love this sound and see
- 1:11:43anything wrong with it. Ten out of ten one of
- 1:11:44the best stories we've read on creep cast in my opinion.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Uh the idea too that all it wasn't even the jacket,
- 1:11:49it was him putting his hood up. It was literally
- 1:11:52a guy going to a American Eagle store buying a
- 1:11:55twenty dollars, zip up hoodie and he's.
- 1:11:58Speaker 8: Like, holy fuck.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: When he puts up his his hood He's.
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: Like, people could kind of see me, but not really.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: He's like the guy in Grandma's Boy when he's like
- 1:12:07pressed up against the wall, the black wall, and has
- 1:12:09his leather jacket on, and they're like, what are you doing?
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: And he's like, oh, could he see me? That moment
- 1:12:14he rends me of JP. I also like that part
- 1:12:19where it's like, uh, that this story you're about to
- 1:12:25read is of a dark one who's whose work is
- 1:12:27known everywhere. We never get an explanation that it's just
- 1:12:29like a really mad kid who's about to kill his parents.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: I also just like the kid bleeding profusely for two
- 1:12:36weeks they just and then also and he was bleeding
- 1:12:39for personal issues.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it was he was, he was bleeding. The conditions
- 1:12:47were personal issues.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: It's like, do you mean when you punched him and
- 1:12:50you destroyed every organ in his body? Wasn't that It
- 1:12:54wasn't that personal issue?
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: This is a banger. I love it. I don't know
- 1:13:02what you're talking about.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: By far, today, my favorite story we've read easily close entertaining.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: I will say that all right, So we are now
- 1:13:10on Let's go to ickbar Begelstein bar Bigelstein. So I
- 1:13:15don't remember this one. I remember hearing of this story,
- 1:13:17but I don't think I ever read it.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Another short banger.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Twenty twelve, Let's go. When I was a small child,
- 1:13:27I was terrified of the dark. I still am. Back
- 1:13:30when I was around six years old, I couldn't go
- 1:13:32a full night without crying out for one of my
- 1:13:34parents to search beneath my bed or in my closet
- 1:13:36for whatever monster I thought was waiting to eat me.
- 1:13:39Even with the night light, I could still see dark
- 1:13:42shapes moving around the corners of the room, or strange
- 1:13:45faces looking in on me from my bedroom window. My
- 1:13:48parents would do their best to console me, telling me
- 1:13:50that it was just a bad dream or a trick
- 1:13:52of the light. But in my young mind, I was
- 1:13:55positive that the second I fell asleep, the bad things
- 1:13:58would get me. Time I would just tie under the
- 1:14:01blankets until I became tired enough to stop worrying, But
- 1:14:04every now and then I would become so panics that
- 1:14:05I would run screaming into my parents' room, waking up
- 1:14:09my brother and sister in the process. After an ordeal
- 1:14:12like that, there would be no way anyone would be
- 1:14:14getting a full night's rest. Eventually, after one particularly traumatizing night,
- 1:14:20my parents had had enough. Fortunately for them, they understood
- 1:14:23the futility and arguing with the six year old and
- 1:14:25knew that they would be unable to convince me to
- 1:14:27rid myself of childish fears through reason and logic. They
- 1:14:31had to be clever. It was my mother's idea to
- 1:14:33stitch together my little bedtime friend. She collected a large
- 1:14:38assortment of random pieces of fabric and her seing sewing
- 1:14:41machine and created what I would later refer to as
- 1:14:44mister Ickbar Bigglestein or Ick for short. Ick was a
- 1:14:50sock monster, as my mother called him. He was made
- 1:14:53to keep me safe while I slept at night by
- 1:14:55scaring away all the other monsters. He was pretty damn creepy,
- 1:14:59I do admit, honestly, looking back on it all now,
- 1:15:02I'm still impressed in my mom could think of something
- 1:15:04so strange and disturbing looking. Eggbar had the together look
- 1:15:10of a Frankenstein Grimlin, with big white button eyes and
- 1:15:13floppy caddiers.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: I'm the fucking wrong with my mom.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: He's like, here, we go sweetheart, fun with igbar.
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: Like okay, thanks nice magel steam okay.
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: His little arms and legs were made from a pair
- 1:15:33of my sister's black and white striped socks, and the
- 1:15:36half of his face that was green was made from
- 1:15:38one of my brother's tall football socks. His head could
- 1:15:42have been described as bulbous, and for his mouth, my
- 1:15:44mom attached a piece of white fabric, and so did
- 1:15:47his exact pattern to shape a wide grin of sharp teeth.
- 1:15:51I loved him at once. From then on, it never
- 1:15:54left my side, as long as it was after dusk.
- 1:15:57Of course, it didn't like the sun and would get
- 1:16:00upset if I tried to bring him to school with me.
- 1:16:02That was okay. I only needed him at night to
- 1:16:04keep away the boogeyman, which was what he was good at.
- 1:16:08So every night, at bedtime, it would tell me where
- 1:16:10the monsters were hiding, and I would place him near
- 1:16:13the section of my room closest to the spookiness. If
- 1:16:16there was something in the closet, it would block the door.
- 1:16:19If there was a dark creature scratching at my window,
- 1:16:21it would be pressed up against the glass. If there
- 1:16:24was a big hairy beast under my bed. Then under
- 1:16:26the bed he went. Sometimes the monsters weren't even in
- 1:16:30my room. Sometimes they would hide in my dreams. Nip
- 1:16:33Bar would have to come with me into my nightmares.
- 1:16:36It was fun bringing Nick into my dream world, and
- 1:16:38he and I would spend hours fighting off ghouls and demons.
- 1:16:41The best part was in my dreams. It would talk
- 1:16:45to me for real. How much do you love me?
- 1:16:49He would ask, more than anything? I would always tell him.
- 1:16:55One night, in a dream, after I had lost my
- 1:16:57first tooth, it asked me for a favor. Can I
- 1:17:01have your tooth? I asked him, why? To help me
- 1:17:07kill the bad things. The next morning, at breakfast, my
- 1:17:11mom asked me where my tooth went from what she
- 1:17:14told me, the tooth fairy didn't find it under my pillow.
- 1:17:17When I told her that I gave it to Ickbar,
- 1:17:19she just shrugged and went back to feeding my little sister.
- 1:17:23From then on, every time I lost a tooth, I
- 1:17:26would give it to ick something funny Hunter.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: That's uh, It's like I just want to say, First off,
- 1:17:34I'm I.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Love the angle this is going.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: It's going into a laughing Jack kind of territory of
- 1:17:39things or whatever. But I just want to say, too,
- 1:17:41how fucking creepy would it be? Where it's like, hey, uh,
- 1:17:46the tooth fairy said he couldn't find your tooth.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: I gave it.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I gave it to Ick, and it's like, You're like, okay,
- 1:17:54And then at some point all of your children's teeth
- 1:17:57are going to be into a sock puppet you made
- 1:17:59for him. How creepy would that be?
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: Dude? Fuck that. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:18:08This seems perfectly reasonable. I would He would always thank me,
- 1:18:14of course, and tell me that he loved me. Eventually,
- 1:18:17though I ran out of baby teeth, he began to
- 1:18:19get a little too old to still be playing with dolls.
- 1:18:23I sat there on my bookshelf, collecting dust slowly faded
- 1:18:26away from my attention. Over time, the nightmares, however, became
- 1:18:30worse than ever, so bad that they even began to
- 1:18:33follow me to the waking world to raise in every
- 1:18:35dark corner a rustle in the bushes. After one particularly
- 1:18:39bad night bikeing home from a friend's house, where I
- 1:18:41swore a pack of rabbit dogs were chasing me, I
- 1:18:44got home to find something strange waiting for me in
- 1:18:46my room. There on my bed, standing fully upright in
- 1:18:50the soft glove, the moonlight from my window the sick bar.
- 1:18:55At first, I just thought my eyes were playing tricks
- 1:18:57on me again they had been all so I tried
- 1:19:01to flick on the lights. Another flick of the light switch,
- 1:19:04and another and another, with no change for the darkness.
- 1:19:08It was then then I started to get nervous. I
- 1:19:12backed away, slowly towards the door behind me, my eyes
- 1:19:14never leaving the shape of ich silhouette, my hand awkwardly
- 1:19:17outstretched between behind, reaching for the door knob. I was
- 1:19:21just about to get my ass out of there when
- 1:19:23I heard this door slam itself shut, locking me into
- 1:19:26blackness and nothing but shadows and silence. I stood frozen
- 1:19:31in place, not even breathing, for how long I can't say,
- 1:19:35But after what felt like a lifetime of cold fear,
- 1:19:37I heard the shrill, familiar voice. You stop feeding me,
- 1:19:42so why should I protect? You? Protect me from what?
- 1:19:47Let me show you. I blinked once, and everything changed.
- 1:19:52I was in my bedroom anymore. I was somewhere else.
- 1:19:57It wasn't hell, but the compar garrison wasn't far off.
- 1:20:02It was some sort of forest, horrible nightmarish place with
- 1:20:05partial embryonic abortions hung. Whoa, whoa, there's a lot of
- 1:20:17abortions stuff. What is this? Fetuses that have ever been aborted? Bro,
- 1:20:28This would be great if it becomes like a like
- 1:20:30an anti abortion ad, an anti abortion ad all life matters.
- 1:20:35It's like, you didn't you just kill me? Well that
- 1:20:41hold on because you because you didn't support Yeah, because
- 1:20:44you didn't stop abortions, because you're not for the cause,
- 1:20:47So come on. Yeah, it was some sort of forest,
- 1:20:51horrible nightmarriage place for partial embryonic abortions hung from the
- 1:20:54canopy and the ground swarmed with carnivorous insects. A thick
- 1:20:59fog waffed it through the air and with a stinch
- 1:21:01of rotten meat while char truce? Is that right? Char
- 1:21:06truce lighting? Lightning lightening, char truce lightening. I'm I'm not
- 1:21:16sure what's going on in the chair, Like.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: I can't take this on the verge of a seizure.
- 1:21:21You're just gonna just scared me trying to figure out
- 1:21:23what he's saying.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: And I'm just like say with me, you gotta see
- 1:21:30what eggbar is planning. He's gonna he's gonna do something
- 1:21:33to the abortion clinic. We've got to stop him. I think,
- 1:21:44just this is it. This is a funny idea. This
- 1:21:48is a very real world tragedy. I'm not saying it,
- 1:21:51but just if this story ends with him being like, okay, bar,
- 1:21:55I'll do it for you, like drives to a plan pair.
- 1:22:00All right, fine, I'll do it. Loud a cleric bar,
- 1:22:06out a cleric bar. Just easy, please sap so hard,
- 1:22:15so quick, okay, charps truth. Lightning flashed across the night sky.
- 1:22:22In the distance, I could hear the agonizing screams of
- 1:22:25something not quite human. My head throbbed like it was
- 1:22:29about to explode, the pain forcing out a river of tears.
- 1:22:32In my mind. I heard his voice again, this is
- 1:22:35what Joe. Reality will begun without me. I felt earth
- 1:22:39shaking footsteps approaching fast. I'm the only one who can
- 1:22:43stop it. It was behind me now, huge and angry,
- 1:22:48hot breath across my back. Bring me what I need,
- 1:22:52and I will. I woke up before I could turn around.
- 1:22:57The following day, I read in my parents clause it
- 1:23:00for my brother's baby teeth. They keep those things, giving
- 1:23:03them all the death bar they got.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: My mom's a psychopath, and keeps all my baby, every
- 1:23:08baby tooth, and a mason jar from my nine relatives.
- 1:23:14Speaker 13: Can I get to the mason jar in your closet?
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Shin, Mommy, need to rest. She's just trapped up. She's
- 1:23:23an electric taped down to the sofa.
- 1:23:26Speaker 8: Whatever you need, son, all right, mom.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: I love you.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: It's like definitely a kid like emotionally distraught from like
- 1:23:35his disturbed parents. She's like trying to She's like sitting
- 1:23:38there like peeling back the skin on her fingers.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Sure, sweetheart, go ahead, alright, Mommy, I love you. Your new
- 1:23:44nails look nice. Almost immediately the night terror ceased, and
- 1:23:48I was more or less able to go on about
- 1:23:50my life as normal. From time to time I would
- 1:23:53have to sneak into my little sister's room and snatch
- 1:23:56what has been meant for the tooth fairy, or strangle
- 1:23:59one of the neighbor hood cats right out, sharp little incisors.
- 1:24:02Oh my gosh, God, come on, oh my, I gotta
- 1:24:09have teeth, anything to ward off the vision. The visions
- 1:24:17anything from a sharp toothed necklace to a cavity ridden
- 1:24:20Bicuspand I also began to notice that Ick would move
- 1:24:23about my room whenever I left for any length of time,
- 1:24:26rearranging my stuff and hang in additional curtains. He was
- 1:24:29even beginning to look more lifelike, said Bell. In the
- 1:24:34right light, his teeth would glisten and he was warm
- 1:24:37to the touch. As much as he creeped me out,
- 1:24:39I couldn't work up the courage to just destroy him,
- 1:24:42going perfectly well where that would leave me, So I
- 1:24:44went on collecting teeth for Rick throughout all of high
- 1:24:47school and college. Where I got, the more things I
- 1:24:50would learn to fear, the more teeth it would need
- 1:24:53to keep me safe. I'm twenty two years old now,
- 1:24:58with decent job, my own apartment in a set of dentures.
- 1:25:01It's been almost a month since x last meal, and
- 1:25:04the horrors are starting to crowd around me. Once more.
- 1:25:07Took a detour through a parking garage after work tonight
- 1:25:10found a man fumbling with his car keys. His teeth
- 1:25:13were staying yellow from a lifetime of cigarettes and coffee.
- 1:25:16Even still, I had to use a hammer to get
- 1:25:18out the molers. I got back to my apartment. He
- 1:25:22was waiting for me on the ceiling in the corner,
- 1:25:25two white eyes and a mouth of rasers, how much
- 1:25:29do you love me more than anything? I replied, taking
- 1:25:35off my coat more than anything in the world. End
- 1:25:38of the story. I just want to say I want
- 1:25:41to say good.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: I want to say this is this could be a
- 1:25:45really cool story if it would have taken that. Let
- 1:25:48me pitch you an angle forbody Kitty does this.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: He becomes obsessed with.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Teeth and he has like a his and his mom
- 1:25:54gives him like a sock puppet or she's like, oh
- 1:25:56I I don't worry, I'm your friend too, and she
- 1:25:57like jokes with him.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: What if you take what if he becomes like a.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: Killer that like has a bunch of like weird animal
- 1:26:02and human teeth and he's like bite like he has
- 1:26:04it's like a hand puppet thing. He's going to fucking
- 1:26:06like biting people's faces and ship yeah, and that kind
- 1:26:09of stuff.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: Like I'm a very disturbed man. I didn't I didn't
- 1:26:12mean to do it. It's I liked it. That was pretty good.
- 1:26:17Eickbar did it on me? Bar did it? That was
- 1:26:21That wasn't bad. That wasn't bad. I had a good
- 1:26:22time with that one. Yeah that was fine. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:26:27Like he's a kid and becomes obsessed with this, starts
- 1:26:30stealing teeth from people. Yeah, totally works for me. Get
- 1:26:34with me, all right, So now go We've got a
- 1:26:37classic for you. So you've read Jeff the Killer, You've
- 1:26:40read Laughing Jacking, and we're not gonna read. If we
- 1:26:42get into the Jeff the Killer spin offs, we're gonna
- 1:26:44be here all day. So we're gonna go on down
- 1:26:46to Lavender Town syndrome. Okay, you're gonna love this one,
- 1:26:52Love this one. Hunter just white. Here we go. The
- 1:26:56Lavender Town syndrome, also known as Lavender Town Tone or
- 1:26:59Lavender Town's Suicides, was a peak in suicides and illness
- 1:27:03of children between the ages of seven to twelve shortly
- 1:27:06after the release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan
- 1:27:08February twenty seventh, nineteen ninety six. Rumours say that these
- 1:27:13suicides and illness only occurred after the children playing the
- 1:27:16game reached Lavendertown, whose theme music had extremely high frequencies
- 1:27:21that studies showed that only children and young teens can hear,
- 1:27:24since their ears are more sensitive. Of course, due to
- 1:27:28the lavender tone. At least two hundred children supposedly committed suicide,
- 1:27:33and many more developed illnesses and afflictions. The children who
- 1:27:36committed suicide usually did so by hanging or jumping from heins.
- 1:27:41Those who did not act irrationally complained of severe headaches
- 1:27:44after listening to lavender Town's theme. Although Lavendertown now sounds
- 1:27:48differently depending on the game, this mass hysteria was caused
- 1:27:52by the first Pokemon game released after the Lavender tone incident.
- 1:27:56The programmers had fixed Lavendertown's theme music to be at
- 1:27:59a lower frequency, and since then children were no longer
- 1:28:02affected by it. One video appeared in twenty ten using
- 1:28:06special software to analyze the audio of Lavendertown's music. When played,
- 1:28:10the software created images of the unknown of theknown unknown
- 1:28:16near the end of the audio. This race or controversy
- 1:28:19since the unknown didn't appear until the Generation two games
- 1:28:23Silver Golden Crystal. The unknown translates to leave now. There's
- 1:28:28also the said beta version of Lavendertown. It said that
- 1:28:32the beta version of Pocket Monsters was released to some
- 1:28:35kids to test the games. This is the video of
- 1:28:37the beta version of Lavendertown. So the grimypasta was built
- 1:28:41around this video. Yeah play it now. So this is
- 1:28:49actually the audio from the game, it's just cranked up
- 1:28:52a lot and they've maybe added a couple things to it.
- 1:28:56But this is based off the actual music that plays
- 1:28:58when you go into Lavendertown in the game, which admittedly
- 1:29:01is kind of a weird like sound for a kid's game, right,
- 1:29:05it is creepy.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: Well, here's the interesting thing about this, because that is
- 1:29:08the end of the story. First off, I just want
- 1:29:10to say, some of these old ones where it's like
- 1:29:11it's when people are like, oh they are they're cringe whatever.
- 1:29:14I think the cringe angle just comes because it's just
- 1:29:16like you can tell it was like, oh, it's Pokemon whatever.
- 1:29:19Pretty interesting idea though. In the nineties. First off, I
- 1:29:23just want to say, in the nineties, there's no way
- 1:29:24that this is. I mean, maybe it is. So in
- 1:29:26two thousand and one, there was a movie called Suicide Club.
- 1:29:30It was a Japanese horror film and it was all
- 1:29:32about like basically a pop band where people teenagers would
- 1:29:35listen to this song and teenagers.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Would just basically kill themselves.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: But it was like it was inspired by the suicide
- 1:29:43rate rise in the mid nineties in Japan because of
- 1:29:47like some economic crash that happened and there was, I
- 1:29:49mean a ton of that that happened. To see that
- 1:29:51correlate too around the same time when Pokemon came out,
- 1:29:54and to have it be something that's also inspired by
- 1:29:56like you know, only kids and teens can hear this thing.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: It's just I don't know, it's cool.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I don't know if it's intentional, but I just want
- 1:30:01to say, if you haven't seen Suicide Club, it's not
- 1:30:03like it's a you know, it's like it's a like
- 1:30:06super amazing movie, but it's pretty interesting just to see
- 1:30:10this kind of like phenomenon of like, uh culture move
- 1:30:13through and it's affecting people that like listen to this
- 1:30:16song or whatever. So I just found that comparison kind
- 1:30:20of interesting.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, it is. It is interesting. Uh where the
- 1:30:26concept came from. I mean it's a harm It's like, oh,
- 1:30:28there's this creepy town in the game. Did you know
- 1:30:29that in the beta version kids took their own life
- 1:30:31because of it. It's like it's a fun you know's whatever.
- 1:30:35All these so far, I just want to say, all
- 1:30:36these so far not that bad, Like well, it's because
- 1:30:39they're they're inoffensive, right, they're well written or that depth.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: But it's just like legends.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: It's like, that's what most of them are. They're like
- 1:30:47urban legends, like campfire stories.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: That's the that's the best thing is that all of
- 1:30:51them have this yeah, campfire urban legend kind of vibe
- 1:30:54where you can tell it to your friends and they're like,
- 1:30:56what really that I feel is lost now, Like I
- 1:31:00just don't feel like those things are you know, that
- 1:31:03fun anymore? And it was fun too whenever the Internet,
- 1:31:05which you know, the Internet had been around for a
- 1:31:07little bit since then, but it was such this new
- 1:31:09frontier where you're like, what maybe it is or whatever,
- 1:31:12So I don't know if there's probably a new piece
- 1:31:14of something new that'll come out to where that will
- 1:31:16hopefully we'll get to have some more of that love
- 1:31:20again in that one.
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: Yes, yes, Now the next one that's in here is
- 1:31:25one I actually remember. I specifically remember setting around at
- 1:31:28a sleepover telling my friends is to scare them, okay,
- 1:31:31like this one. This one was a campfire story to me,
- 1:31:33and it's called licking licking all right. So my great
- 1:31:39grandmother lived alone up in the mountains at her cabin.
- 1:31:42Her husband was dead, so she was there all alone.
- 1:31:45She only had one companion and that was her loving dog.
- 1:31:50They both adored each other and the dog was a
- 1:31:51great comfort to her. Every night when she went to bed,
- 1:31:55the dog would lick her hand to let her know
- 1:31:57that he was there to protect her.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: God, one night, I'm getting flashbacks from that my fucking
- 1:32:02aunt with her licking her feet.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, dog with her feet. She's bringing that up again.
- 1:32:07Thank you. I'm just saying this is becoming very personal
- 1:32:09for me. Sorry, I got chay. One night, she had
- 1:32:12gone to bed and the dog had licked her hand
- 1:32:14like he had done routinely every night since her husband died,
- 1:32:18but this night was different. She had woken up in
- 1:32:20the middle of the night because she heard her dog whimpering.
- 1:32:24She wanted to comfort him and let her know she
- 1:32:26was there for him, so she stuck her hand out
- 1:32:29of the bed and she felt the dog gently licked
- 1:32:31her hand like always. She figured he was just cold,
- 1:32:34so she went back to sleep.
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: I love this stup of like creepy thing. Isn't ment, No,
- 1:32:39but my dog wasn't the dog licking my hand?
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: Spoilers. Sorry. Sorry. The dog's whimpering had woken her up
- 1:32:47a second time in the night, so she stuck her
- 1:32:50hand out, the dog lickd it, and she went back
- 1:32:52to sleep. This happened a third time, and she stuck
- 1:32:55her hand out and the dog stopped whimpering and came
- 1:32:57and licked her hand. She stayed awake a few moments afterward,
- 1:33:01she went back to sleep again. In the morning, she
- 1:33:04woke up and stuck her hand out by the bed,
- 1:33:06but nothing licked her hand. She thought the dog had
- 1:33:09already awakened and was just in the front room. She
- 1:33:12rolled over and got out of bed and heard a drip, trip, trip, trip.
- 1:33:18She thought the sound was coming from the kitchen, so
- 1:33:21she walked over and turned the handles on the sink faucet,
- 1:33:24but it wasn't the source of the noise. After frustratingly
- 1:33:27checking the sink and its pipes, she gave up and
- 1:33:29continued into her bathroom to take a shower. When she
- 1:33:32got closer to the bathroom door, it was evident that
- 1:33:35the sound was coming from within. She opened the door,
- 1:33:39looked above the bathtub and gasped in at her horror. There,
- 1:33:43hanging from the light by his collar was her loving companion,
- 1:33:47his blood tripping into the bathtub. She screamed and began
- 1:33:52to cry, wiping her eyes and sobbing, She turned and
- 1:33:55looked into the mirror. In the mirror, she saw the
- 1:33:58dog's reflection and ridden on the air in her dog's blood,
- 1:34:01with drips and streaks. Hanging down from each letter were
- 1:34:03the words humans can lick two.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: You know what this This feels like a fun story,
- 1:34:12like something that fun and Punchy were like, ooh, kind
- 1:34:15of reminds me of the YouTube short that got turned
- 1:34:18into a movie. It was like lights out.
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the name of the YouTube video was
- 1:34:25don't turn off the lights or something like that.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Yeah, don't turn off the lights whatever, whatever that is.
- 1:34:29But it's just one of those little I missed those
- 1:34:32old horror vignettes that would happen.
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: Let me tell you this killed at like a seventh
- 1:34:36grade sleepover. This Yeah, bloods can go yeah, you know, like, yeah,
- 1:34:43they drinking. The way I told it was different. So
- 1:34:45the way I told it got rid of the whole,
- 1:34:46Like the dog whippery. It's that she's in bed and
- 1:34:49she hears the sink dripping, and she goes and each
- 1:34:52time it's licking her hand, and at one point she
- 1:34:54gets so frustrated she turns on the lights and when
- 1:34:56she turns on the light, she realized that the drip
- 1:34:58is coming from the corner of the room where the
- 1:35:00dogs hung, and the blood stripping, and then on the
- 1:35:03wall as humans can look too. And I like that
- 1:35:05ending better because it implies that like, oh, she's figured
- 1:35:08it out, and the thing's still under the bed to
- 1:35:10her right, like it's right there, like a killer a second,
- 1:35:14That's how I always told it. But yeah, this killed
- 1:35:16people love that story. It went great, all right, So Hunter,
- 1:35:19I need you to go to the next page. Going
- 1:35:21to the next page. We have to do mister Widemouth
- 1:35:24for sure. I think mister Widemouth. Mister Widemouth, absolutely, mister.
- 1:35:31We had considered doing mister Widemouth for one of our
- 1:35:33live show ones. But that's okay, Yes, that's where you've
- 1:35:37heard of it before. But we fell in love with
- 1:35:39or you fell in love with uh laughing Jack.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: So Laughing Jack was just one of the best, I mean,
- 1:35:45one of the most entertaining stories we've ever read.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Legendary. Yeah, it was great, all right. During my childhood,
- 1:35:52my family was like a drop of water in a past,
- 1:35:55never remaining in one location for long. We settled in
- 1:35:59Rhode Island when I was eight, and we remained until
- 1:36:01I went to college at Colorado Springs.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: What an extra first sentence. My childhood was like a
- 1:36:08drop of water in a vast river.
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: It's like bro bro okay hunter. Most of these creepypastas
- 1:36:15were like twelve year olds in English. They liked thing
- 1:36:18they like, and they're like, I'm gonna throw that in.
- 1:36:21That'll spice it up. I'm gonna put this in there.
- 1:36:23It'll be like on the.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: How many cherries can I put on top of a story?
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: Yep? Yeah. Most of my memories are rooted in Rhode Island,
- 1:36:33but there are fragments in the attic of my brain
- 1:36:35which belonged to the various homes we had lived in
- 1:36:37when I was much younger. Most of these memories are
- 1:36:41unclear and pointless, chasing after another boy in the backyard
- 1:36:45of a hoise of a house in North Carolina, trying
- 1:36:49to build a raft to float on the creek behind
- 1:36:52the apartment we rented at Pennsylvania, and so on. But
- 1:36:55there's one set of memories which remains as clear as glass,
- 1:36:59as though they were just made yesterday. I often wonder
- 1:37:03whether these memories are simply lucid dreams produced by the
- 1:37:07long sickness I experienced that spring, but in my heart
- 1:37:11I know they are real. We were living in a
- 1:37:14house just outside the bustling metropolis of New Vineyard, Maine,
- 1:37:18population six hundred and forty three. It was a large structure,
- 1:37:22especially for a family of three. There were a number
- 1:37:25of rooms that I didn't see in the five months
- 1:37:28we resided there. In some ways it was a waste
- 1:37:31of space, but it was the only house on the
- 1:37:33market at the time, at least within an hour's commune
- 1:37:37to my father's place of work. The day after my
- 1:37:40fifth birthday, attended by my parents alone, I came down
- 1:37:43with a fever. The doctor said I had mononucleosis, which
- 1:37:48meant no rough play and more fever for at least
- 1:37:51another three weeks. It was horrible timing to be bedridden.
- 1:37:55We were in the process of back in our things
- 1:37:57to move to Pennsylvania. Most of my things were already
- 1:38:00packed away in boxes, leaving my room barren. My mother
- 1:38:03brought me ginger ale and books several times a day.
- 1:38:06These served the function of being my primary form of
- 1:38:09entertainment for the next few weeks. Bored them always loomed
- 1:38:12just around the corner, waiting to rear it, secondly, head
- 1:38:15and compound my misery. I don't exactly recall how I
- 1:38:20met mister Widemouth. I think it was about a week
- 1:38:23after I was diagnosed with mono. My first memory of
- 1:38:27the small creature was asking him if he had a name.
- 1:38:30He told me to call him mister Widemouth because his
- 1:38:33mouth was large. In fact, everything about him was large
- 1:38:36in comparison to his body, his head, his eyes, his
- 1:38:40crooked ears, but his mouth was by far the largest.
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: You look kind of like a ferbie.
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: I said, as he flipped through one of my books.
- 1:38:50Mister Widemouth stopped and gave me a puzzled look. FURBI
- 1:38:53what's a pourbi, I shrugged.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: You know the toy, a little robot with the big years.
- 1:39:00You can pet and feed them, almost like a real pet.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: Oh, mister Widemouth resumed his activity.
- 1:39:07Speaker 14: You don't need one of those. They aren't the same
- 1:39:10as having a real friend.
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: I remember, mister Widemouth disappear, and every time my mother
- 1:39:15stopped by to check in on me, I.
- 1:39:17Speaker 14: Lay under your bed. I don't want your parents to
- 1:39:21see me, because I'm afraid they won't let us play anymore.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: We didn't do much. During those first few days, mister
- 1:39:29Widemouth just looked at my books, fascinated by the stories
- 1:39:32and pictures they contained. Third or fourth morning after I
- 1:39:35met him, he greeted me with a large smile on
- 1:39:37his face.
- 1:39:39Speaker 14: I have a new game we can play. We have
- 1:39:42to wait until after your mother comes to check on
- 1:39:44you because she can't see us play it. It's a
- 1:39:47secret game.
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: Man. These stories would be terrified if they were just
- 1:39:53about like Pedophiles's.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: I mean that is ninety nine honestly.
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, if it was just about like a man.
- 1:40:01He's like, you won't have to tell your mommy anything. Terrified.
- 1:40:05But it's always like the game is we have to
- 1:40:07eat a cat or something like your sister. Yeah, it
- 1:40:12doesn't really seem like a game to me, if I'm
- 1:40:16being honest. Mormal seriously, just took this hammer and hit
- 1:40:20in the head. It'll be fun. Ah, I'm scared. That's crazy.
- 1:40:27It's like a gang negotiation. It's like, Okay, after my
- 1:40:33mother delivered more bucks and soda at the usual time,
- 1:40:35mister Widemouth slipped out from under the bed and tucked
- 1:40:38to my hand. We have to go to the room
- 1:40:40up the end of this hole, he said, objected at first,
- 1:40:44my parents had forbidden me to leave my bed without
- 1:40:46their permission. Mister Weymouth persisted until I gave in. I
- 1:40:50really don't I should go. Sorry. Are you sure.
- 1:40:57Speaker 12: About this, sir?
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: I really don't think that I should. I've been pretty sick.
- 1:41:01Actually have something super to your career. There Big Question
- 1:41:08had no furniture or wallpaper. The only distinguishing feature was
- 1:41:11a window opposite the doorway. It's wide mouth darted across
- 1:41:15the room and gave the window a firm push, fliging
- 1:41:18it open. He then beckoned me to look out at
- 1:41:20the ground below. Well, you're on the second story of
- 1:41:23the house, but it was on a hill, and from
- 1:41:25this angle the drop was farther than two stories due
- 1:41:28to the incline.
- 1:41:30Speaker 14: I like to play pretendo here. I pretend that there's
- 1:41:33a big soft trip of lead below this window, and
- 1:41:36I drump if you pretend, if you bounce back up
- 1:41:39like a fuddler, I want you to try your totally
- 1:41:45kill yourself.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: I don't. I don't think I'm gonna.
- 1:41:50Speaker 5: I don't think it's a good idea.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: Where's your totally just drum kill yourself?
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: Mom, not just was aud swear you'll bounce up. It'll
- 1:42:08be really cool. A further, I was a five year
- 1:42:16old with a fever, so only a hint of skepticism
- 1:42:18started through my thoughts as I looked down and considered
- 1:42:21the possibility. It's a it's a long drop. Well, that's
- 1:42:28all important for fun.
- 1:42:30Speaker 14: It wouldn't be fun if it was just only a
- 1:42:32short drop, if it were not were your bear as well,
- 1:42:35just bounce on a real triple.
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: Dude, we wouldn't want that. That sounds great.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: Where's one of those looks totally good?
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: You're not, mister whitemouth.
- 1:42:47Speaker 13: You can't say that. Stuff's reason it's you're gonna get
- 1:42:50your trouble. That's pretty homophobic. That's actually pretty insensitive. I
- 1:42:55wish you wouldn't it more.
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: Just totally good, mister whitemouth. You can't be problematic. I
- 1:43:07just could you just stop saying that? Please just start
- 1:43:11or just drip the swirl. I'm five.
- 1:43:16Speaker 13: I'm five years old, and that seems kind of horseh
- 1:43:21it's all you figure bullying me.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: I think I'm being pressured into this, the Dare programme.
- 1:43:29I'm not gonna do it. I ted with the idea
- 1:43:34of picturing myself following through thin air, only to bounce
- 1:43:36back to the window on something unseen by human eyes.
- 1:43:40For the realist of me prevailed.
- 1:43:43Speaker 13: Maybe some other time, I don't know. If I have
- 1:43:46enough imagination, I could get hurt.
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: Mister white Mouse's face contorted into a snarl, only for
- 1:43:53a moment anger gave way to disappointment. He spent the
- 1:44:00rest of the day under my bed, quiet as a mouse.
- 1:44:04The following morning, mister Widemouth arrived hold in a small box.
- 1:44:08Speaker 14: Would treat you hold a druggle pure aresal thugs you
- 1:44:11could use to practice before start giving you lessons.
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: I looked at the box. It was full of knives.
- 1:44:22Speaker 8: Where's kill me?
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: I don't think, or some shirt collars, like some fucking
- 1:44:40box full of broken glass and knives.
- 1:44:45Speaker 8: I don't think.
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: Can we start with maybe like a towel, or like maybe.
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: A pillow ball or something.
- 1:44:53Speaker 13: I just like a soft, just a soft like I
- 1:44:56don't show me up for like a baseball.
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: There's a I don't even been the need to a
- 1:45:01ball like a baseball.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: Don't be very.
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: Oh, mister, I don't think that langridge is appropriate.
- 1:45:13Speaker 13: I just take the knives in the user is I
- 1:45:16think you're kind of a bad guy.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Knives.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: I think you're kind of a not very well put together.
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: Person, serious and just druggle these sharp, rusty knives. Don't
- 1:45:28be gary, I shouted, horrified that mister Widemouth had brought
- 1:45:37knives into my room, objects that my parents would never
- 1:45:39allow him to touch.
- 1:45:41Speaker 8: I'll be spanked and grounded for a year.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: Mister Widemouth frowned, it's fun to druggle with. I want
- 1:45:50you to tart push the box away. I can't, I'll
- 1:45:55get in trouble.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: I mean, knives aren't safe to just throw in the air.
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: Mister white Mouse frown deepened into a scowl, kicked the
- 1:46:04box of knives, and slid under my bed, remaining there
- 1:46:07the rest of the day. I began to wonder how
- 1:46:09often he was under me. You were very you were appreciative.
- 1:46:16I mean, I'm so sorry. I just I can't do.
- 1:46:18It's weird, you you know what, I get it, Okay,
- 1:46:25tell me whatever. It's just not cool. You're just not cool, funk.
- 1:46:32I'm sorry, man, I just I'm fucking scared. You're scared
- 1:46:36of me.
- 1:46:38Speaker 8: This is a lot.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: It's like fox eggs again. I can't. I can't fucking
- 1:46:45uggled knives. Man, I'm just I'll just chill ud you here. Well,
- 1:46:51let me come with you. You just stir up there,
- 1:46:54all okay, all right, well I'm sorry, jezuz dude, gosh,
- 1:47:01hold me. I can't fucking jump out a window. I'm
- 1:47:03fucking sick the fuck oh gosh. I started having trouble
- 1:47:13sleeping after that. Mister Whyemouth often woke me up at night,
- 1:47:16saying he put a real trampoline under the window, a
- 1:47:18big one one that I couldn't see in the dark.
- 1:47:21I was decline. I always decline and try to go
- 1:47:24back to sleep, but mister Whitemouth persisted. Sometimes he stayed
- 1:47:28by my side until early in the morning, encouraging me
- 1:47:30to jump. He wasn't so fun to play with anymore.
- 1:47:36My mother came to me one morning told me I
- 1:47:38had her permission to walk around outside. She thought the
- 1:47:41fresh air would be good for me, especially after being
- 1:47:44confined to my room for so long. Ecstatic, I put
- 1:47:47on my sneakers and trotted out to the back porch,
- 1:47:51yearning for the feeling of sun on my face. Mister
- 1:47:54Wymouth was waiting for me hersel to WoT sugar Sue said.
- 1:48:00I must have given him a weird look, because he
- 1:48:03then said, you're safe, my promise. I followed him to
- 1:48:09the beginning of a deer trail which ran through the
- 1:48:11woods beyond the house. This is an important pass.
- 1:48:17Speaker 14: I've had a lot of refrige about your age when
- 1:48:20they were ruddy or took them down to this path
- 1:48:22to a special place. You weren't ruddy yet, reward, I
- 1:48:27hope to tako there.
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: I returned to the playhouse, wondering what kind of place
- 1:48:32lay beyond that trail. Two weeks after I met mister Widemouth,
- 1:48:37the last load of our things had been packed into
- 1:48:39a movie truck. I would be in the cab of
- 1:48:42that truck, sitting next to my father for the long
- 1:48:44drive to Pennsylvania. I consider telling mister Widemouth that I
- 1:48:47would be leaving, but even at five years old, I
- 1:48:49was beginning to suspect that perhaps the creature's intentions were
- 1:48:52not to my benefit, despite what he said otherwise. For
- 1:48:56this reason, I decided to keep my departure a secret.
- 1:49:01My father and I were in the truck at four am.
- 1:49:03He was hoping to make it to Pennsylvania buy lunchtime
- 1:49:05tomorrow with the help of an endless supply of coffee
- 1:49:08and six pack of energy drinks. You seem more like man.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: Oh my, I thought he was gonna say beer. I
- 1:49:13was like, holy shit, But my dad was drinking coffee
- 1:49:17and bush Light all morning, so he was totally good to.
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: Get getting hammered on the road.
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: I've never heard anyone say six pack of energy drinks,
- 1:49:24A six a six pack of Natty Light and some coffee.
- 1:49:27And Dad was wide awake.
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: Son, you're too young to get this, but sometimes your
- 1:49:31dad needs something to steady him for the road. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:49:33You know, get shaky in the morning. This magic water
- 1:49:39wore I get behind the wheel, that's all. Okay, I
- 1:49:42just get shaky.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: That's why that coolers in between your legs breaching there.
- 1:49:46Get Dad some of his magic water.
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: Help me out, Help me out, be a team player.
- 1:49:50You all want dad to be sad, do you.
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Dad's angry. That's why Mommy is such a bitch.
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: No, you get it, Dad, I really don't think you
- 1:49:59should talk about.
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: He's like getting it from all these different ankles, and
- 1:50:03I feel like you should age give.
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: Me the beer. Goddamn. Okay, first to god, what the
- 1:50:10fuck is not upset to me.
- 1:50:14Speaker 9: When mister white Bell said it, I mean, you know
- 1:50:16he lives in this house.
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: Maybe he doesn't understand the connotation, but you definitely know better.
- 1:50:23You're forty eight years old.
- 1:50:26Speaker 9: I'm almost not not to make allegations, but I'm almost
- 1:50:31positive Uncle Rodney would fall into that category.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: And I think you would know.
- 1:50:40Speaker 9: Her suburbage that would hurt him. I'm I'm making a
- 1:50:48lot of mature decisions from my age, and I don't five.
- 1:50:53Speaker 13: I'm five years old. I feel like I should. I
- 1:50:56feel like I just want to be Can I just
- 1:50:58read my comic book or something?
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: I don't Why am I in this? I've been two
- 1:51:02different predicaments. They're really vicarious on either side. Anyway, he
- 1:51:10seemed more like a man who was about to run
- 1:51:12a marathon rather than one who was about to spend
- 1:51:13two days sitting still. Earlier enough for you, he asked.
- 1:51:19I nodded to place my head against the window, hoping
- 1:51:21for some sleep before the sun came up. I helped
- 1:51:25my father's hand on my shoulder.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: This is the last move, son, I promise. I know
- 1:51:30it's hard for you, as sick as you've been. Once
- 1:51:33Daddy gets promoted, we can settle down and you can
- 1:51:36make some friends.
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: I opened my eyes as we backed out the driveway
- 1:51:41saw mister white Mouse Little White in my bedroom window
- 1:51:45stood motionless until the truck was about to turn onto
- 1:51:47the main road. Gave a pitiful little wave goodbye, steak
- 1:51:51knife in hand.
- 1:51:57Speaker 13: Oh you see that too, right down the tiny man
- 1:52:02in the window of the knife.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: Dude, seriously, you're killing my fucking buzz. Turn off, diseasy
- 1:52:07top and just shut the hell up.
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: If I have to hear one more word out of you,
- 1:52:11the fake I'm sorry. Let's play a game. It's called
- 1:52:15shut up till Pennsylvania. How's that sound? That sound like
- 1:52:18a good dame slug bug my shoulder, Jesus Christ. Years later,
- 1:52:32I returned to New Vineyard. The piece of land our
- 1:52:35house stood upon was empty except for the foundation as
- 1:52:38the house burned down a few years after my family left.
- 1:52:42Out of curiosity, I followed the deer trail that mister
- 1:52:44Widemouth had shown me. Part of me expected him to
- 1:52:47jump out from behind a tree and scare the living
- 1:52:49but Jesus out of me, But I felt that mister
- 1:52:52Widemouth was gone, somehow tied to the house that no
- 1:52:54longer existed. The trail ended at the new Vineyard Memorial Cemetery.
- 1:53:00I know it's so many of the tombstones belong to children.
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: Done done done. First of all, I just want to say, uh,
- 1:53:07perfect creepy pasta material. I love, love, love that, all right,
- 1:53:13mister whitemouth being I love the idea of a monster
- 1:53:16just being.
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: Like, hey, kid, you should jump out the window, kill yourself,
- 1:53:20jump up.
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: What's the worst. I just love a reluctant child being like, duh,
- 1:53:26I don't.
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: I really don't think it's a.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Good idea and the person just being like, no, serious,
- 1:53:31it's so it's super fun, just do it.
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I don't think that's really a great idea. Okay,
- 1:53:39I guess. I mean my baby tomorrow.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: Mister whitemouth may have may have moved his way to
- 1:53:50the top of today for me.
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: I mean, it's fun for what it is. It's just like,
- 1:53:55had a weird memory of this little thing that wanted
- 1:53:58him to hurt himself, and then when he grows up,
- 1:54:00it's like, oh, he was trying to kill me, and
- 1:54:02he did it to a bunch of other kids. It
- 1:54:03seemed like it's basic it's short, you know, gets its
- 1:54:06point across. Yeah, it's fun, it's fun. It's a fun
- 1:54:09little story. Yeah. I enjoyed a lot. So all right,
- 1:54:13So that's mister Widemouth. What we got after that? Where
- 1:54:15we want to go? We've read Psychode.
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: It looks like.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: Polybius. Oh Polybius. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, you don't know
- 1:54:22about Polybius. That's right, we'll go there. Let's do Polivias,
- 1:54:25another classic. So Polybus this is another one of those
- 1:54:29blueprint kind of things, right, so okay. In Portland, Oregon,
- 1:54:34in nineteen eighty one, an unheard of new arcade game
- 1:54:37appeared in several suburbs, something of a rarity at the time.
- 1:54:40This game was called Polyvius. The game proved to be
- 1:54:44incredibly popular, to the point of addiction, and cues formed
- 1:54:48around the machines, quickly followed by clusters of visits from
- 1:54:51Men in Black. Rather than the usual marketing data collected
- 1:54:55by company visitors to arcade machines, they collected some unknown data,
- 1:54:59allegedly test responses to the psychoactive machines. The players themselves
- 1:55:03suffered from a series of unpleasant side effects amnesia, insomnia, nightmares,
- 1:55:08night tares, and suicide appearing as having been caused by
- 1:55:12the game. In various versions of the legend, some players
- 1:55:15stopped playing video games, while it is reported that one
- 1:55:18became an anti gaming activist. So that's like the basic
- 1:55:25like rundown of it. But then there's an alternate story
- 1:55:27that gets attached to it that says Polybius is an
- 1:55:29urban legend about a rare arcade game released in nineteen
- 1:55:32eighty one. The game was created by a mysterious company
- 1:55:35called Seneschlos which seneslosan Jah and was a puzzle shoot
- 1:55:44them up somewhat like Tempest. Was only released in a
- 1:55:47few suburbs of Portland, organ it was supposedly very popular,
- 1:55:51with people forming long lines to play it. Hower players
- 1:55:53reported strange things about the games, such as hearing a
- 1:55:55woman crying and seeing grotesque faces out of the corner
- 1:55:57of their eyes. Players would also have nightmare, experienced nausea, headaches, blackouts,
- 1:56:02or even develop amnesia. Some even committed suicide, Others stopped
- 1:56:06playing video games all together, and one became an anti
- 1:56:08video game activist. It's mentioned earlier. According to one owner
- 1:56:11of an arcade, men wearing black suits would often come
- 1:56:13to collect records from the game. They did not take
- 1:56:16any money, simply data on gameplay. Because of this deleting,
- 1:56:19theory is that it was some sort of government experiment
- 1:56:21using subliminal messages. The game remains in obscurity, as around
- 1:56:25one month after its release, all of the cabinets suddenly disappeared.
- 1:56:29One cabinet reappeared in Arcade in ninety eight quickly disappeared again.
- 1:56:33All some have tried to recreate the game. No one
- 1:56:35has ever found the original ROMP.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: It's kind of interesting to do the German thing since deletions,
- 1:56:40because it's like, it seems like people they're like basically
- 1:56:43stealing people's memories, loading them onto these cabinets, and the
- 1:56:46people come up and pick them up away. I'm like,
- 1:56:48you know, this is like another little urban legend meme too,
- 1:56:51but it's also something that's I just like a weird
- 1:56:54fake well I guess you could just call misinformation. But
- 1:56:58it's like when people are like, oh, yeah, there used
- 1:57:01to be these like and then because attached here, we'll
- 1:57:04attach the screenshots, but there's like actual like black and
- 1:57:06white photos of cabinets and stuff from whatever else. It's
- 1:57:09what's fun.
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: What's also cool about it is the original. Like Polybius
- 1:57:16story would get used in media a lot, so like
- 1:57:20video game articles like Game Informer back in the day
- 1:57:23would put like top ten classic arcade cabinets, and Polybius
- 1:57:26would be like number eight. They'd be like known for
- 1:57:28its great shooting, or like it would be an inside
- 1:57:31joke to act like it was a real game, or
- 1:57:34like in an episode of The Simpsons, there's a scene
- 1:57:36where they're in an arcade room and you can see
- 1:57:38someone playing Polybius in the back. Stuff like that. So
- 1:57:41it became like this kind of like a zeitgeist that
- 1:57:43would get passed around and stuff. So it would be
- 1:57:45a joke if like you go to an arcade game,
- 1:57:47tell your friends, like, oh, if they have Polybius, let
- 1:57:49me know, that's like the best. It was just like
- 1:57:50a little like a fun joke to play with each other.
- 1:57:53So yeah, it's just a little urban legend that would
- 1:57:55get passed around in like horror circles and stuff, and
- 1:57:57that the government choosing it to try to collect data
- 1:57:59on and stuff. It actually the stories of Bolivia started
- 1:58:04to come after a real life I'm pretty sure it
- 1:58:07was a game called Berserk. It was an old arcade
- 1:58:09cabinet that there were two different deaths that occurred that
- 1:58:14media at the time, like back in the eighties, attributed
- 1:58:16to Berserk. One of them was a kid had a
- 1:58:19heart attack at a arcade. Arcade, Yeah, I had a
- 1:58:26heart attack at an arcade and died, And this actually happened.
- 1:58:30I did this for a video, did the look up
- 1:58:32for it, and a kid did die of a heart attack.
- 1:58:34Turns out he had a heart condition, got a little
- 1:58:36too excited and passed away, but he apparently died near
- 1:58:38a Berserk machine. And then there was another instance of
- 1:58:41kids like trying to get a high score on Berserk,
- 1:58:43and then later on two of the kids got into
- 1:58:45a fight and one of them stabbed and killed the
- 1:58:48other kid. So the belief was Berserk like does something
- 1:58:53to your mind. It makes you go crazy, it makes
- 1:58:54you have heart attacks, like there are all these legends
- 1:58:57that came from the real world game Berserk. So Polybya's
- 1:58:59was kind of like an adaptation of that story.
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: I see, that's well, that's that's fucking cool then too.
- 1:59:04I still yeah, I mean, that's a fun way to
- 1:59:07just reintroduce that shit into the zeitgeist of like the
- 1:59:11online horror Zeitgeist.
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: Yeah, we have to read Suicide Mouse. No, that's just
- 1:59:19I think we have to read. I don't think you'll
- 1:59:21getting out of this one.
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: I think we need to do who was Phone at least? Okay,
- 1:59:26but there's also who can't Trust Anyone?
- 1:59:28Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: Why with you? Why we can't trust every classic too?
- 1:59:31But I think we stilled, like, like, Suicide Mouse is
- 1:59:33six minutes. I think we have to read it. God
- 1:59:36damn it. All right, yeah, Suicide Mouse it is. Let's go,
- 1:59:39all right, Suicide Mouse. So do any of you remember
- 1:59:44those Mickey Mouse cartoons with the nineteen thirties, the ones
- 1:59:47that were just put out on DVD a few years ago. Well,
- 1:59:50I hear there's one that was unreleased to even the
- 1:59:53most avid classic Disney fans. According to sources, something special.
- 1:59:58It's just a continuously like Flintstones of Mickey walking past
- 2:00:02six buildings that goes on for two or three minutes
- 2:00:04before fading out, unlike the cutesy tunes put in though,
- 2:00:09the song in this cartoon was not a song at all,
- 2:00:11just constant banging on a piano for a minute and
- 2:00:14a half before going to white noise for the remainder
- 2:00:16of the film, it wasn't the jolly old Mickey we've
- 2:00:20come to love either. Mickey wasn't dancing, not even smiling,
- 2:00:23just kind of walking as if you or I were
- 2:00:25walking with a normal facial expression, but for some reason
- 2:00:28his head tilted side to side as he kept this
- 2:00:31dismal look up until a year or two ago, everyone
- 2:00:35believes that after it cuts to black, that was it.
- 2:00:38When Leonard Malton was reviewing the cartoon to be put
- 2:00:40in the complete series, he'd I love how they always
- 2:00:43name drop like someone who's like like Stephen Hillenberg.
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: They got to they have to legitimate. It's for avid fans,
- 2:00:51you know what I mean?
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: Yes, yes, of course. He decided it was too junk
- 2:00:55to be on the DVD, but wanted to have a
- 2:00:57digital copy due to the fact that it was a
- 2:00:59creation of Wall. When he had a digitized version up
- 2:01:02on his computer to look at the file, he noticed something.
- 2:01:05The cartoon was actually nine minutes four seconds long. This
- 2:01:08is what my source email to me in full. He
- 2:01:10was a personal assistant of one of the higher executives
- 2:01:12at isn'ey and acquaintance of mister Malton himself. After it
- 2:01:17cut to black, it stayed like that until the sixth minute,
- 2:01:20before going back into Mickey walking. The sound was different.
- 2:01:23This time. It was a murmur, wasn't a language, but
- 2:01:26more like a gurgled cry. As the noise got more
- 2:01:29indistinguishable and loud over the next minute, the picture began
- 2:01:32to get weird. The sidewalk started to go in directions
- 2:01:35that seemed impossible based on the physics of Mickey's walking,
- 2:01:38and the dismal face of the mouse was slowly curling
- 2:01:40into a smirk. On the seventh minute, the murmur turned
- 2:01:44into a blood curdling scream, the kind of scream painful
- 2:01:47to hear, and the picture was getting more obscure. Colors
- 2:01:51were happening that shouldn't have been possible at the time.
- 2:01:54Mickey's face began to fall apart, his eyes rolled on
- 2:01:57the bottom of his chin like two marbles in a fishbowl,
- 2:02:00and his curled smile was pointing upwards on the left
- 2:02:03side of his face. The buildings became rubble floating in
- 2:02:07mid air, and the slidewalk was still impossibly navigating in
- 2:02:10warm directions of you, seeming inconceivable with what we as
- 2:02:14humans know about direction. That's a good line, mister Malta
- 2:02:19got disturbed and left the room, sitting an employee to finish.
- 2:02:23They always do this, They like the main guy gets disturbed.
- 2:02:26It sends like a lackey to watch it, sitting employee
- 2:02:30to finish the video and taking notes of everything happened
- 2:02:32up until the last second, and afterwards immediately stored the
- 2:02:34disc of the cartoon into the vault. This distorted screaming
- 2:02:38lasted up until eight minutes and a few seconds in,
- 2:02:40and then it abruptly cuts to Mickey's mouse face at
- 2:02:42the credits of the end of every video, with what
- 2:02:45sounds like a broken music box playing in the background.
- 2:02:49This happened for about thirty seconds, and whatever was in
- 2:02:51that remaining thirty seconds, I haven't been able to get
- 2:02:54a slover of information about from a security guard working
- 2:02:57under me who was making rounds outside of that room.
- 2:03:00I was told that after the last frame, the employee
- 2:03:02stumbled out of the room with pale skins, saying real
- 2:03:05suffering is not not seven times before speedily taking the
- 2:03:15guard's pistol and off. He watched thirty thinking about this cartoon.
- 2:03:30Real suffering does not, No.
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: There's not put his hand over his mouth, threw up
- 2:03:35the fucking vomit whenever where he's like grabbed.
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: The photo realistic vomit all over him. The thing I
- 2:03:46could get the thing I couldn't get out of. Oh,
- 2:03:49the thing I could get out of Leonard Malton was
- 2:03:51that the last frame was a piece of Russian text
- 2:03:53that roughly said the sites of Hill bring its viewers
- 2:03:56back in. As far as I know, no one else
- 2:03:59has seen it, but there have been dozens of attempts
- 2:04:01at getting the file on Rapid Share by employees inside
- 2:04:04the studios, all of whom have been promptly terminated up
- 2:04:07their jobs. Whether it got online or not is up
- 2:04:10for debate, but if rumors serve me right, it's online
- 2:04:13somewhere under suicide mouse dot av I. If you ever
- 2:04:17find a copy of the film, I want you to
- 2:04:18never view it and to contact me by phone immediately,
- 2:04:22regardless of the time. When a Disney death is covered
- 2:04:25up as well as this, it means this has to
- 2:04:27be something huge. Get back to me, tr I've had
- 2:04:31to find a copy of this, but it is out there.
- 2:04:33I know it.
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: The end at least we got the the guy pulling
- 2:04:38out the gun. You know, I seriously thought the candle
- 2:04:41Cove thing was so influential. It just like it's kind
- 2:04:43of the all ties back into that. Does all of.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: These come off of Candle Cove for sure? One hundred percent?
- 2:04:48And then people started to do it with like real media,
- 2:04:51so that's where you get like Dead Bar, Squidwards, Suicide
- 2:04:53Suicide Mouse. There was really like I remember there being
- 2:04:57one for like every show, Like there was a fairly
- 2:05:00odd Parents one. There was like a total drum Island one,
- 2:05:03like I remember ones for like everything I watched. All right,
- 2:05:06So the Rake, the Rake, Creepypasta. Now several of you
- 2:05:11have heard of the Rake. The Rake has a lot
- 2:05:12of different adaptations. The version I'm most familiar with is
- 2:05:15when people say it's like a proxy of Slendermans, like
- 2:05:17Slenderman can turn or Slenderman turns someone into the Rake
- 2:05:20in order to do it.
- 2:05:21Speaker 5: It's a skin walker, right, Ah, It's like it's like
- 2:05:25it's closer to classic like Native American depictions of the
- 2:05:29wind to go like a humanoid like kind of skeleton.
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: Thing running around on the ground and it's tip like.
- 2:05:35I think it's some adaptations that can shape shift or
- 2:05:38at least mimic of voices. I think that's right. Yeah,
- 2:05:42this is one of the earliest renditions of the actual
- 2:05:45creepy pasta. But the rake gets used in so many
- 2:05:47different stories, like like the overview for it here on
- 2:05:51creepypasta dot com says, mostly associated with the image of
- 2:05:54a bald, pale skin creature hunched at an angle with
- 2:05:56bright or black eyes staring into the camera, So he
- 2:06:00gets used all over the place. But this is one
- 2:06:02of the This is one of the most famous stories.
- 2:06:03So this is from a suicide note in nineteen sixty four.
- 2:06:10As I'm prepared to take my life, I feel it
- 2:06:12necessary to assuage any guilt or pain I have introduced
- 2:06:16through this act. It's not the fault of any one
- 2:06:19other than him. For once I awoke and felt his presence,
- 2:06:22and once I awoke and saw his form. Once again
- 2:06:25I awoke and heard his voice, looked into his eyes.
- 2:06:29I cannot sleep without fear of what I might next
- 2:06:32wake experience. I cannot ever wake Goodbye. Found in the
- 2:06:37same wooden box were two empty envelopes addressed to William
- 2:06:40and Rose, and one loose personal letter with no envelope.
- 2:06:45Dearest Lenny, I have prayed for you. I have prayed
- 2:06:48for you. He spoke your name. So then another journal
- 2:06:53entry translated from Spanish in eighteen eighty reads, I've experienced
- 2:06:57the greatest terror. I've experienced the greatest terror. I have
- 2:07:00experienced the greatest terror. I see his eyes when I
- 2:07:02close mine. They are hollow black. He saw me and
- 2:07:06pierce me his wet hand. I will not sleep his voice,
- 2:07:11followed by unintelligible text. Another mariner's log from sixteen ninety
- 2:07:17one says he came to me in my sleep, from
- 2:07:19the foot of my bed, I felt a sensation. He
- 2:07:22took everything. He must return to England. We shall not
- 2:07:25return here again with the request of the Rake.
- 2:07:29Speaker 1: I was just saying. Then we get that the very
- 2:07:30infamous photo.
- 2:07:31Speaker 2: Yes, the classic trade to say, it's probably just as like,
- 2:07:35probably just as infamous as the like a couple like
- 2:07:38the Russian sleep experiment, the uh Jeff the killer, you know,
- 2:07:42like I feel like it's up there, it's gotta be.
- 2:07:46Three years ago, I had just returned from a trip
- 2:07:48from Niagara Falls with my family for the fourth of July.
- 2:07:51We were all very exhausted after a long day of driving,
- 2:07:53so my husband and I put the kids right to
- 2:07:55bed and called it a night. At about four am,
- 2:07:58I woke up, thinking my husband had got en up
- 2:08:00to use the restroom. I used the moment to steal
- 2:08:03back the sheets, only to wake him in the process.
- 2:08:06I apologized and told him I thought he got out
- 2:08:08of bed. When he returned to face me, he gasped,
- 2:08:11pulled his feet up from the end of the bed
- 2:08:12so quickly as he almost knocked me out of the bed,
- 2:08:15then grabbed me and said nothing. After adjusting to the
- 2:08:19dark for a half second, I was able to see
- 2:08:21what caused a strange reaction. At the foot of the bed,
- 2:08:25Sitting and facing away from us, there was what appeared
- 2:08:28to be a naked man a large hairless dog of
- 2:08:31some sort. Its body position was disturbing and unnatural, as
- 2:08:35if it had been hit by a car or something.
- 2:08:39For some reason, I was not instantly frightened by it,
- 2:08:42but more concerned as to its condition. At this point,
- 2:08:46I was somewhat under the assumption that we were supposed
- 2:08:49to help him. My husband was peering over his arm
- 2:08:52and knee tucked into the fetal position, occasionally glancing at
- 2:08:56me before returning to the creature. In a flurry of motion,
- 2:08:59the creature scrambled around the side of the bed and
- 2:09:01then crawled quickly in a flailing sword of motion, right
- 2:09:04along the bed until it was less than a foot
- 2:09:05from my husband's face. The creature was completely silent for
- 2:09:09about thirty seconds, or probably closer to five. It just
- 2:09:13seemed like a while just looking at my husband. The
- 2:09:16creature then placed its hands on his knee and ran
- 2:09:19into the hallway leading into the kid's rooms. I screamed
- 2:09:24and ran for the light switch, planning to stop him
- 2:09:26before he hurt my children. When I got to the hallway,
- 2:09:29the light from the bedroom was enough to see it
- 2:09:31crouching and hunched over about twenty feet away. He turned
- 2:09:34around and looked directly at me, covered in blood, flipped
- 2:09:38the switch on the wall and saw my daughter Clara.
- 2:09:42The creature ran down the stairs while my husband and
- 2:09:44I rushed to help our daughter. She was very badly
- 2:09:46injured and spoke only once more in her short life.
- 2:09:50She said, he is the rake. My husband drove his
- 2:09:55car to a lake that night while ra.
- 2:09:58Speaker 1: God, okay, man, I just look about nonchalant. The uh
- 2:10:05things are the verbiage anyways, my husband, my husband just
- 2:10:08drove his shit into a lake.
- 2:10:09Speaker 2: It's whatever, as drove his car to a lake that
- 2:10:13night while rushing our daughter to the hospital. He did
- 2:10:15not survive. Being a small town, news got around pretty quickly.
- 2:10:20The police were helpful at first, and the local newspaper
- 2:10:22took a lot of interest as well. However, the story
- 2:10:25was ever published, and the local television news never followed
- 2:10:27up either. For several months, my son, Justin, and I
- 2:10:30stayed in a hotel near my parents' house. After we
- 2:10:33decided to return home, I began looking for answers to myself.
- 2:10:36Eventually located man in the next town over who had
- 2:10:39a similar story. We got in contact and began talking
- 2:10:42about our experiences. He knew of two other people in
- 2:10:45New York who had seen the creature we now referred
- 2:10:47to as the Rake. It took the four of us
- 2:10:51about two solid years of hunting on the Internet and
- 2:10:53writing letters to come up with a small collection of
- 2:10:56what we believed to be accounts of the Rake. None
- 2:10:59of them gave any detail history or follow up. One
- 2:11:02journal had an entry involving the creature in its first
- 2:11:04three pages and never mentioned it again. A ship's log
- 2:11:08explained nothing of the encounter, saying only that they were
- 2:11:11told to leave by the rake. That was the last
- 2:11:13entry in the log. There were, however, many instances where
- 2:11:17the creature's visit was one of a series of visits
- 2:11:20with the same purpose. Multiple people also mentioned being spoken to,
- 2:11:24My daughter included. This led us to wonder if the
- 2:11:27rake had visited any of us before our last encounter.
- 2:11:30I set up a digital recorder near my bed and
- 2:11:32left it running all night. Every night for two weeks,
- 2:11:35I would tediously scan through the sounds of me rolling
- 2:11:38around in my bed each day when I woke up.
- 2:11:41By the end of the second week, I was quite
- 2:11:43used to the occasional sound of sleep. While blurring through
- 2:11:45the recording at eight times a normal speed, It's still
- 2:11:49almost This still took almost an hour every day. On
- 2:11:52the first day of the third week, I thought I
- 2:11:54heard something different. What I found was a shrill voice.
- 2:11:59Was the rage. I can't listen to it long enough
- 2:12:02to even begin to transcribe it. I haven't let anyone
- 2:12:05listen to it yet. All I know is that I've
- 2:12:07heard it before, and I now believe that it spoke
- 2:12:11when it was sitting in front of my husband. I
- 2:12:14don't remember hearing anything at the time, but for some reason,
- 2:12:17the voice in the recorder immediately brings me back to
- 2:12:20that moment. Thoughts it must have gone through my daughter's
- 2:12:23head make me very upset. I've not seen the rake
- 2:12:26since he ruined my life, but I know he has
- 2:12:28been in my room while I slept. I know in
- 2:12:32fear that one night I'll wake up to see him
- 2:12:35staring at me. And that is the end of the
- 2:12:37original creepypasta by Brian Summerville. Awesome.
- 2:12:47Speaker 1: You know, I think there might have been just a.
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: Little little after this. The rake got used everywhere. People
- 2:12:55would drop it. They'd write stories about like I'm in
- 2:12:57the woods, I'm in a cabin, the rakes outside try
- 2:13:00to kill me, stuff like that. It was very common. Yeah. Common. Also,
- 2:13:04does this make you realize, while when you read forty
- 2:13:07of these in a row, what Burrosca does or what
- 2:13:10pin Pal does? Yeah? Yeah, like that's why they had
- 2:13:15so much acclaim at once.
- 2:13:17Speaker 1: It, you know, and they're just good story I mean,
- 2:13:21like it's just something too where it's like, uh, to
- 2:13:24have to sit down, like the to the the the
- 2:13:28discipline it takes to sit down and write a full
- 2:13:31link story is so hard. Yeah, And it's like it's
- 2:13:34it's something too that has to be so meticulously crafted
- 2:13:36and put together to where sometimes it sucks. Whenever you
- 2:13:39read something where you're like, yeah, this is a nice
- 2:13:40long story. You can tell someone put their heart into it,
- 2:13:43and it just doesn't land. It sucks because you're looking
- 2:13:45at it as like a piece of just free media
- 2:13:47that you're just like, this sucks whatever. But seeing something
- 2:13:50that you know, these these like little blurbs or some
- 2:13:52guy probably just like was shitting his pants and just
- 2:13:55like writing something for twenty minutes he's like, boom, it
- 2:13:57gets uploaded. You know, it makes you appreciate this stuff
- 2:14:00where someone's like I had a full had this idea,
- 2:14:03I marked it down, you know, I did whatever to
- 2:14:06make this a full you know experience. So I don't know,
- 2:14:10all I'm saying is, you know, not that I'm not
- 2:14:13that I'm fatigued, but if I had to, I'm so
- 2:14:15glad that we're just doing this all now because it
- 2:14:17would suck have to just keep visit, just get them
- 2:14:20the fuck out of the way. This is what can
- 2:14:22we can we just end with who was phone? Can
- 2:14:24we just can we just call it? Because I'm so
- 2:14:29let's just do Who Was Phone? I think who Was
- 2:14:30Phone is the best way to end this and if
- 2:14:34you don't mind, I would like to raid this one.
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: It's going to take you to the statue white with
- 2:14:38red all of them. But you know what, fine, I'm going.
- 2:14:42Speaker 1: To realize or last one today one of the classics.
- 2:14:45Here traded a healthy six point three three out of ten.
- 2:14:48Speaker 2: This is a famous one. So here we go.
- 2:14:51Speaker 1: Okay, So basically it's like this. You're at a friend's
- 2:14:53house for like the night or whatever, and then you
- 2:14:55guys are making out.
- 2:14:56Speaker 2: On the couch.
- 2:14:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and then like her dad calls on the phone
- 2:14:59and says, no, she likes it more if you use
- 2:15:02the other hand. Yeah, and you're all like, oh, dude,
- 2:15:07your dad is trying to give me advice on how
- 2:15:09to diddle you. And then she's like I don't have
- 2:15:13a dad or whatever. But what who was Phone? Also,
- 2:15:19so you're with your honey and you're making out. When
- 2:15:21the phone rains, You answer and the voice.
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: Is what are you doing with my daughter? You tell
- 2:15:27you're the girl and she say my dad is dead?
- 2:15:30Then who was Phone?
- 2:15:33Speaker 1: That is the end of who Is Phone?
- 2:15:39Speaker 2: So the joke with this one was people would list,
- 2:15:41like what's the scariest thing you've ever read? And people
- 2:15:44would be like who was phonem? Like I couldn't sleep
- 2:15:47for weeks after that, like it was a scarce thing.
- 2:15:49So everyone would hype it up it and then when
- 2:15:51you eventually find it, it would be this, I love it.
- 2:15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I love this. Uh well, I love it. It's
- 2:16:00the to me, this is the accumulation of everything we've
- 2:16:03read today.
- 2:16:04Speaker 2: And I think when I when I was a kid,
- 2:16:06I heard about this and I was and I was like, Okay,
- 2:16:09it's really scary. And then I find this and I'm like, oh,
- 2:16:11someone's made this as a trick to hide the real
- 2:16:14story from me. It's a troll. So I kept looking
- 2:16:17for the real quote.
- 2:16:18Speaker 1: Unquote but yeah, exactly exactly. Well, you know what, I
- 2:16:23think it was a This was a it's like walking
- 2:16:25through the Baseball Hall of Fame or whatever. It's like
- 2:16:29the He's like walking through like the you know, it's
- 2:16:31the Walk of Fame in Hollywood whatever, with less homeless
- 2:16:35people and ship. This is a h It was nice
- 2:16:38going through. And and I'll tell you what I would say,
- 2:16:40the majority of stuff we read today, you're like, you
- 2:16:41know it, you know, interesting, interesting ideas. It's also cool
- 2:16:46just to see stuff that starts like at such an
- 2:16:48influential stage like this is.
- 2:16:49Speaker 2: Like all these things were people.
- 2:16:52Speaker 1: You know, millions of people probably read this ship, and
- 2:16:55that like sparked tons of people to just be like.
- 2:16:57Speaker 8: I want to make a Mickey Bouse horset egg.
- 2:17:00Speaker 1: I want to you know, I want to try to
- 2:17:01find them in Minecraft or all that kind of stuff
- 2:17:04is I think pretty cool, how moving these little stories were.
- 2:17:09Speaker 2: Mm hmm yep. So now now maybe you can respect
- 2:17:13a little bit more the Prime Rib your della. I agree,
- 2:17:16I agree.
- 2:17:17Speaker 1: Well, you know what, listen, it does not fall. I
- 2:17:20I appreciate everything we read here. I think that we
- 2:17:23have anything we need to tell our little viewers here
- 2:17:25that guess what, dude.
- 2:17:27Speaker 2: We we give them prime rib.
- 2:17:29Speaker 1: We're serving them prime rib.
- 2:17:31Speaker 2: Dude, we do you know? Spoiled rotten? Spoil rotten they are.
- 2:17:36I agree, I agree, they need to suffer like like
- 2:17:39I did. I agree. I agree.
