- 0:00Shall we step into the judgment zone. Let's do it. It's a tricky
- 0:04one. Okay. We have a bride on her hands who is set to
- 0:07get married. Now she's made the choice along with I trust her husband to
- 0:11not have kids at the wedding. That's kind of a thing right now.
- 0:14A lot of people are doing this, you see it a lot. However,
- 0:18she's running to a bit of an obstacle with her sister in law,
- 0:21and the sister in law has four kids, and now she is angry.
- 0:26She got the invite which made it very clear this is an adult's only wedding,
- 0:31and she's now upset, refusing to go because she says, if you
- 0:35don't want my kids at the wedding, then you don't want me there either,
- 0:39putting her foot down hard stance. Our bride here is a little concerned.
- 0:43She doesn't want to ruffle too many feathers amongst the family. However,
- 0:46she does still stand by the fact that she wants it to be an adult's
- 0:49only wedding. So she doesn't know what to do, whether to cave for
- 0:52the sister in law to open it up entirely to kids, or just stand
- 0:57firm. First of all, my opinion is it is your wedding, and
- 1:00of course you get to call the shots. But I also, totally from
- 1:03a person with kids, get it. Not that it's a burden, but
- 1:07sometimes it gets to be expensive. I don't know the wedding details, but
- 1:11let's just say that they're in the wedding or they're doing something, and are
- 1:14they're part of it. It gets to be a lot, and now you
- 1:15have to find somebody to watch your kids for however many days or whatever it
- 1:21ends up being. It gets to be a lot. So I get where
- 1:23it's like, hey, can we they're your nieces or nephews or whatever.
- 1:27Is it cool if we just bring them? Is that okay? One hundred
- 1:30percent hard? No, Okay, it's her wedding, it's her day.
- 1:34Cannot stress enough that it's just one hundred percent about her and her husband.
- 1:40You're the one who had the kids, she didn't. It's not her responsibility
- 1:44to accommodate you, to save you money. When you chose to have four
- 1:47kids, you know there's gonna be costs that come with that. And it's
- 1:49her wedding, So she gets one of them, okay, one. So
- 1:53it's to the fact that you're angry about it, Like go ahead, complain
- 1:57to your husband about it or whatever. You know what. I mean that
- 2:00that's fine, Like that's human nature, and I get the frustration. I
- 2:01totally do, Like, yeah, I can imagine that's expensive and you don't
- 2:05want his path to spend a bunch of money. But at the end of
- 2:07the day, it's her wedding. No, we have a message here from
- 2:09Sarah. She says, let them come to the ceremony and then they can
- 2:13leave after. Oh my god, kids at the ceremony, this just they're
- 2:16just running. They're just run running back and forth like no, So,
- 2:21I mean, this is coming from a lady who understand I'm talking about a
- 2:23reception. Yeah, I uh ended up having We had nine nieces and nephews
- 2:29all under the age I think of ten that stood up for us at our
- 2:31wedding with Nick and I, So we had all kids nine There were nine
- 2:37kids total for Snow White Horse. So I mean, I get it,
- 2:44Like we decided to have it all kids, all family. We wanted that,
- 2:47we wanted everybody special to be at our wedding. To be fair,
- 2:51it was both of our second wedding, so it was pretty just lax and
- 2:53low key and we didn't really okay, you know, have like the full
- 2:57on where some people, you know, it's black and white tot or black
- 3:00tie, black tie, white tie, whatever, and they wanted to be
- 3:06a little bit more fancy and they don't want kids. There's just so expensive.
- 3:08I get anxiety for this, mom. Okay, then don't go like
- 3:12I get, and you can stay home with the cather. You're the in
- 3:15law, Okay, then the one who's actually the relative, not saying in
- 3:20law's not relatives, you know what I'm saying. But if it's that big
- 3:22of a deal for you, just don't go, like arrange another date to
- 3:24spend time with the bride and grew that's your option, Like that'll go break
- 3:28it up. You'll never get forgiven for that ever. Good morning, Lisa.
- 3:31What you're thinking. I'm thinking that they could ask the bride to see
- 3:37if they can air it like online or something like on Facebook, a little
- 3:42live stream. Yeah that's a great idea. Yeah, and then if they
- 3:46can't, try to do some kind of compromise, maybe invite like the oldest
- 3:52kids with the compromising To me, I mean, that's just too far already.
- 3:55Now you're asking a bride to compromise her own wedding, which I just
- 3:59don't think is okay. Yeah, and I kind of going back to the
- 4:00live stream thing. I actually during COVID this became a thing for a lot
- 4:04of people where they would like put together a Facebook group and let somebody if
- 4:09they couldn't make it live stream their wedding. That is genius. Anybody could
- 4:12set a little live cam up these days, and having gone through it,
- 4:15I don't know, and this sounds terrible, but just send the gift.
- 4:18You're right a man to be honest about it. Do you really want to
- 4:20go anyway? Just don't go. Don't make it an issue for the bride.
- 4:25Just say sorry, we just can't afford a babysitter. We support you,
- 4:28we love you. We send the gift anyway, and obviously that's all
- 4:30bride cares about. So there we go. Everybody wins. Appreciate you,
- 4:33Lisa, thank you, you welcome. I have a good day. We've
- 4:35got a lot of texts over here. One says I'm a MoMA. Four.
- 4:39Definitely would never tell the bride that if my kids aren't welcome, then
- 4:43I'm not coming. It's their special day and if their perfect wedding is kid
- 4:46free, then their guests need to be respectful of that. We got another
- 4:49one, though. Weddings are a celebration of love and family. Families are
- 4:54there to support you, cherish them as you never know when they may not
- 4:58be here. Wow. Okay, then are you using emotion as a weapon,
- 5:01and then's not fair. A different take Tammy writing it on Facebook saying
- 5:06regarding no kids at this wedding, this is totally setting the stage for the
- 5:10future of their relationship. Interesting. Not looking good either way. I don't
- 5:15know about that, Damn. I know, because I don't know how the
- 5:19husband here feels. You know, obviously this is the bride thing. But
- 5:21that's what I wrote her back. I'm like, I'm dying to know if
- 5:25the husband's just like, Okay, honey, you just decide whatever. I
- 5:28don't care. I say, absolutely not. Just leave the kids at home,
- 5:31or you leave yourself at home. Usually the kids are the ones on
- 5:33the dance floor though, getting the party started. Okay, we can all
- 5:38go without your kids running around, Elsa and frozen. Okay, I know
- 5:42it's fine for them, like it a minute in the morning, big Naty
- 5:46eight point seven, Now you know, I don't have kids. I imagine
- 5:48though once you do, you kind of constantly go through this thought of am
- 5:51I doing a good job? Because every parent nobody's perfect? Of course not,
- 5:56so you just want to know. You know, a lot of times
- 5:57people compare themselves to other parents they see who maybe on Instagram, it looks
- 6:00like they're just killing it. So these are the signs, so that if
- 6:03you're at least doing these things, there's a good chance you're doing better than
- 6:06most parents. Ooh okay, right, a little report card for parents who
- 6:12it's easy. It is very easy to feel like kilty. Am I spending
- 6:15enough time? I mean every day? Should I have done this better?
- 6:17Well? Man, what's running through it? Because you got two kids yourself,
- 6:20right, Well, first one, you're willing to admit when you're wrong?
- 6:24Totally? Are you willing to admit that? Yeah? Really? Oh
- 6:27gosh, yeah, especially if I it's easy. Sometimes we are doing something
- 6:31the other day, I just kind of snapped and I'm like, oh my
- 6:33gosh, I'm so sorry you guys. Really. Yeah, it was just
- 6:35like one of those moments I was doing something and they were trying to get
- 6:40my attention, and I just kind of lost it. For a second,
- 6:43and Nick looked at me and I'm like, oh, my gosh, guys,
- 6:45I'm so sorry. That's amazing. That's really mature, because I feel
- 6:46like growing up, parents just think and I get it that they're just superior
- 6:50and there's no way your kid could ever prove you wrong or you know,
- 6:55they could never be right. You're the parent. So the fact that you
- 6:57can do that, I think is really good to me. Yeah or right,
- 6:59I'll apologize to make kids because I want them to acknowledge that you you
- 7:02should be doing that. We all make mistakes. Maybe bring that over into
- 7:05the workplace. Don't make mistakes. Yeah, perfection. Oh this kind of
- 7:13goes off what he just said. This is a sign that you're doing better
- 7:15than most parents. You don't lose your temper. It's it's hard. There's
- 7:18just those situations where you just they're testing you, and if you're in a
- 7:24headspace where you're just vulnerable and you take the bait, it's tough. My
- 7:29husband and I do have a We play off of each other pretty well where
- 7:31I can tell he's done yeah or I'm done, kind of like tag you're
- 7:35it. You go like just go walk out of the room. I'll handle
- 7:40it. Get somebody in there with like a fresh emotional tank. You know
- 7:43they're not like already boiling. Yeah, you don't lie to your kids.
- 7:46Another sign you're doing better than most parents. We talked about this yesterday.
- 7:49Man, I think you admitted that you little white lives here and there.
- 7:51For sure you know the parks closed even though the park doesn't have hours.
- 7:57Sure does, Sure does? Pie okus? Alright, I shouldn't be saying
- 8:00I don't know the kids are listening or not. Ye not wait for you
- 8:03to have You have a healthy relationship with technology, big one. Obviously.
- 8:07Recent survey found that most Americans check their phone in average of one hundred and
- 8:11forty four times a day. Amanda, I imagine you're on the over of
- 8:16that number and then number one. You're very punctual. This is number one
- 8:20thing. If you're doing this at least, it's a good sign you're probably
- 8:22doing better than most parents. Yeah, I'm almost weird. I'm always early.
- 8:26Yeah, you're one of those people where to be early. This's my
- 8:30football coach in high school. It's probably a military thing or something, but
- 8:33to be early is to be on time. To be on time is to
- 8:35be late. To be late is to be forgotten facts, and I feel
- 8:39like everybody should live by that. I don't know, like yesterday had a
- 8:41DMV appointment. It's like I'm not showing them fifteen minutes early do a DMB
- 8:43appointment. Sorry, I'm not putting myself through that. Hell, Okay,
- 8:48did you really are you making that up? It's pretty smooth sale in these
- 8:50days. I was there. It takes one person. I was in there
- 8:54not to get sidetracked here, but I go in there, and you're right,
- 8:56it was. There was very few people there, but there was one
- 8:58lady. I'm so intrigued by certain people's behavior, like how are you this
- 9:03way? So she comes in there, there's three of us in there.
- 9:05She starts loudly talking about you know something random. Right, It's like,
- 9:09lad, we don't want to engage, like you guys are all a team
- 9:13going together exactly? Yeah, Like now I'm part of this three man crew
- 9:16with an old guy. And then this lady I've never met. This is
- 9:20great. So then she goes on about how she wants it to be colder
- 9:24so she can bring her ice castle out. But it was a weird flex.
- 9:26It was like the whole reason was to just say, yeah, I've
- 9:30got an ice castle. Well maybe she just really wanted to engage in conversation
- 9:33instead of you just being there with your phone waiting for your number to be
- 9:37called. She wanted some social interaction. I'll tell you what. The other
- 9:39guy, the third guy in the crew, he was getting he was in
- 9:41the brunt of it. She was deite more talking to him because I think
- 9:46I was very clear about my disinterest. Not a big ice fisherman, you
- 9:50can tell. And he tried. He was engaged, like talking about fishing,
- 9:52and he was willing to have like a normal conversation where you both kind
- 9:56of share problem yesterday I was that problem. Sounds like a nice, fine
- 10:03lady listen, wanted to chat and you weren't having it. Moral of the
- 10:07story, This lady's got a nice castle, Okay. Taking Amanda in the
- 10:11morning seven, Amanda stills the sea. Let's see same. So. I
- 10:18don't know if you guys saw this or not, but Selena Gomez was knee
- 10:22deep in a little juicy gossip at the Golden Globes the other day and it
- 10:26was so great. So Taylor Swift is sitting at the table with her girlfriend
- 10:31and they're just having a girl talk, and then Selena Gomez pops over.
- 10:35I don't love Taylor's current hair, by the way, you know that doesn't
- 10:37matter. She doesn't care. This is my thought, kind of that old
- 10:41school is it? The bangs of them getting us very late? I hate
- 10:45to judge, but it's just it's just a lot going on. I get
- 10:46it. I like some of her other hair styles. Okay, I'm sure
- 10:50she hates my hair too, So what am I? Who am I to
- 10:52judge? Not a chance? All right? So Selena Gomez comes over and
- 10:58you can just look the look on her face, like, girls, I
- 11:00have got some hot gossip. So she bends down she's talking to Taylor.
- 11:03Taylor doves her like oh what face? Yeah, and then the girl next
- 11:07to her. What you can either hear is either her going seriously or she
- 11:13says Timothy Timothy as in Timithy Timothy Shalla May who is dating Kylie Jenner,
- 11:20and they were at a table kind of over there and they were kissing.
- 11:24So insiders are saying that Selena Gomez went over to Timothy and asked to take
- 11:28a picture, when apparently Kylie Jenner said no, you don't need to take
- 11:31a picture now with my man, You're not. Yeah, so who knows.
- 11:35Insiders are also saying those close to them like, no, Selena didn't
- 11:39even go over and talk to them, but there's something going on there either
- 11:41way. Just had me laughing because it could be about anybody. It's the
- 11:45fact that they were being that way typical girls see and Selena is solely anti
- 11:48drama in all you know, Instagram drama. But then yet here she is
- 11:52at the Golden Globe obably gosh, did you see it? Did you see
- 11:54this? This is what was going on? Oh Timothy, Oh, Timid
- 12:00Speaking of the Golden Globes, I know there were some really bad reviews,
- 12:03especially with the host, Joe Cooy. We'll talk about that in a second.
- 12:07But more people watched it then when it was on NBC. So for
- 12:11twenty eight years it was on NBC. They moved it over to CBS and
- 12:13they're saying they garnered fifty percent more viewers. It's got to be much like
- 12:20our family. I would have never watched it. It was right after football.
- 12:22We got distracted, and then all of a sudden it was on.
- 12:24Yeahs, I'm like, okay, that's probably I can't I don't know how
- 12:28many people I don't know any of them who just watch it on purpose.
- 12:31You're like, oh my gosh, the Golden Globes on tonight. There's also
- 12:33people saying it was the Taylor Swift effect once again, wondering af Travis Kelsey
- 12:37was going to be there, wondering what she was going to say, what
- 12:39she was going to do. Speaking of that, Joe Coy, who was
- 12:43the host, had to sit down because he wanted to explain the joke he
- 12:46made about Taylor Swift. And it's hilarious because he made a thousand bad jokes,
- 12:52this is the only one that people were talking about yesterday, maybe because
- 12:56it was so bad. Well, it was awkward, all right, and
- 12:58he obviously thought so too. The tailor one was just a little flat,
- 13:01and I just it was a weird joke, I guess, but it wasn't.
- 13:07It was more on the NFL, you know what I mean. I
- 13:09was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how you know,
- 13:13the Globes didn't have to do that, and so it was more of a
- 13:18jab towards the NFL, you know, But I don't think it just didn't
- 13:22come out that way. You know, which is a weird joke to make,
- 13:26because I mean, do we need to compare the NFL any NFL game
- 13:30rating versus the Golden Globes? No, I mean we don't. It's David
- 13:33and Goli. At what point do you think he just went Why did I
- 13:37say yes to this gig? Yeah? And I said it yesterday, like,
- 13:39I don't want to assume this guy's like unfunny because he's a comedian.
- 13:43He obviously got to where he is somehow totally so a lot of people are
- 13:46fans of his. Yeah, we got a couple of messages yesterday saying you
- 13:48have to watch his stand up, and they were disappointing because he didn't get
- 13:52to shine. Because there is a majority of people yesterday who went, who's
- 13:56this guy? He probably had to have been one of already this year the
- 13:58most googled person, Yeah, Coy Joe Koy. The only Koy I remember
- 14:03are the ones that were swimming at the lobby of the King House buffet before
- 14:05he closed Cooyfish. That wasn't an awesome experience. When he walked in the
- 14:18lobby downtown right into the king House, you had to use the right door
- 14:22because the left one said, use the other door. And there's a bunch
- 14:24of koyfish swimming. I mean that's what they're called, right, Koi?
- 14:28They are called Koi? Yep, some of them. You think there's any
- 14:31relation, you know, I'm not one hundred percent sure. Justin Timberlake he
- 14:35wiped his Instagram clean and now people are going, what's coming? Oh my
- 14:39gosh, that's kind of the new Hey, everybody pay attention to me.
- 14:43I've got something big? Yeah, boy, I sorry, what did you
- 14:46say? Justin Timberlake was playing. I was lost in my memories. He's
- 14:52not being coy. Jump out, jump out of the king House buffet and
- 14:56get back on the program here, okay, coy? I mean, are
- 14:58they just big goldfish? Give it a peek goldfish that they gave a bigger
- 15:05tank to so they could grow bigger. I don't know. I'm not up
- 15:09to date on my Koi knowledge. Are Koi just big? Anyway? There's
- 15:13two ways to look at this. Some people are thinking Justin Timberlake is about
- 15:16to make some sort of tour announcement, which is probably the case. Some
- 15:20people think he really is officially going to do an in sync tour. Not
- 15:24happening. I would be shocked if that happened. Yeah, it would be
- 15:28too. And then there's others who are still Britney fans going he just is
- 15:31deleting everything because of the backlash, which, guys, I hate to tell
- 15:35you that, but that was already so last year. Yeah. Well,
- 15:37here's an interesting thing, even more interesting than justin Timberlake wiping his instagram Queen.
- 15:45They truly are different animals, the koifish and goldfish. They both descended
- 15:50from varieties of Asian car but have grown into two distinct species. So no,
- 15:54they're not just big goldfish. Wow, I'm so glad I can go
- 15:58on with my day. Thank you for that. Got a miss king House,
- 16:02which the whole wiping your Instagram clean, it's just it's so unoriginal at
- 16:06this point. Everybody doesn't. I don't know. It's like his four hundredth
- 16:08tour. Are you ready? Because we saw him for was it the twenty
- 16:12twenty experience? Yeah, twenty fourteen or so? A long time ago?
- 16:18Ten years a man, he was it really that long ago? Yeah?
- 16:19The Fargo down, Yeah, I remember Jessica Biel was there. Remember she
- 16:22just had this like resting face and just was not happy. Well, you
- 16:26should see my wife at our bandsh You know, once you've seen it so
- 16:30many times, har Is again Amanda in the morning on Big seven Life.
- 16:40It's full of decisions, isn't it. Every day you make a lot of
- 16:44money, how many decisions a day? Think about it, but I don't
- 16:45want to. Arguably, no bigger decision in your life will be made than
- 16:49the one of who you're going to be with your partner. That's a big
- 16:55one for sure. Your career, the big decision. A lot of us
- 16:57probably regretting the path we decided to go down, because once you're so far
- 17:00down it it's kind of hard to go back. I mean back in the
- 17:03day, it used to be this is what you're going to school for,
- 17:06this is what you're doing, and this is your career for life. Now
- 17:07I feel like you can kind of side hustles. Those kind of things help
- 17:11a little bit for people when it comes to relationships. Side hustles aren't necessarily
- 17:15encouraged. But nope, nope, they are not. According to you,
- 17:21h it's a big study done by AOL Living. If you didn't know,
- 17:26let me throw you back here. You've got mail. It's a little nostalgia
- 17:30on Tuesday. So thirty five thousand women, there's a lot of women were
- 17:34surveyed, and a staggering fifty percent of them admit that they regret the person
- 17:40they married. Wow, Amanda, a quick one person survey, do you
- 17:44regret the person you married? No? I mean it took me three strikes.
- 17:48You're out of the old ball game, and I'm on the third.
- 17:49I'm on the third and I technically only was married one time before. But
- 17:53thank you for fun, thank you. Yes, people are going, hang
- 17:56on, we missed one. I'm just kidding. Say that their husband's personality
- 18:00was the first thing that attracted them. Okay, and it's still the thing
- 18:04that is most attractive about them. Ok what are we Yeah? Would you
- 18:08agree there? For sure, he's a handsome man. He's sure. It's
- 18:11not his good looks. Well, instantly it was the good looks. Then
- 18:14it was the personality and humor. Now here's the problem though, with these
- 18:18women who are saying they regret their husbands. More than half of them say
- 18:21that they're either bored in the old bedroom or they can't even remember the last
- 18:26time. And this is ladies, This is the ladies. That's actually really
- 18:30shocking to me. Because typically as a society, it's always the other way
- 18:34around. We're the ones that are tired, exhausted and all of that,
- 18:38and you guys are just ready to roar. Well. I mean it doesn't
- 18:42say the reason got it, But if you can't remember the last time,
- 18:47I'm guessing it's probably just a mutual thing where neither of you are all that
- 18:49interested. Yeah, you know what I mean, that's really sad. More
- 18:53than fifty percent of these women who are regretting their husband's choice say that they
- 18:57either wish their husband made more money or made more time for them. I
- 19:02guess that's fair to one or the other. You make more money of it
- 19:04to be happy because I can do everything without you, or you could make
- 19:08more time for me. Yeah, And I think that's in general, if
- 19:11you're going to be broke, you might as well be home. But I
- 19:15think if you're making more time for each other, and that is as a
- 19:19society and we've got to do that, it's easy to just, Oh,
- 19:23we were just talking yesterday to an anonymous person who you know, was going
- 19:27through issues of like their person that they've chosen not exactly there enough, you
- 19:33know. Yeah, And a lot of that's just the case and a lot
- 19:36of and it's a good reminder, you know, you do have to make
- 19:37a conscious effort to be around, spend time, quality time. And with
- 19:41marriage it's always going to be work. And I think it's so many times
- 19:45you go through those places where you don't want to put in the work because
- 19:49well, we've been together this long, it should just be this easy.
- 19:52It's not always that easy, you know, it's not. And like they
- 19:56say here, you know, most people don't believe in like, you know,
- 19:59fair details or soulmates. Basically, love it's about finding a person.
- 20:04And this is unbelievably deep, by the way, so buckle, hang on.
- 20:07Love is about finding a person and making the decision to stay with them
- 20:12no matter what. Okay, it's a choice. It's not something that involves
- 20:17fate. So it's work, Amanda, it is. But also, if
- 20:21you're in an unhealthy situation, it's okay to get out. Well yeah,
- 20:27I mean, that's just it. I just don't want people to feel like,
- 20:30hey, what at some point it's like, Okay, made the decision.
- 20:33It's like doomsday, isn't it. I mean, listen, how many
- 20:36people do you know right now who have been married for like, you know,
- 20:37fifty sixty like grandparents of ours? Yes, is that gonna be the
- 20:41case in fifty years? Because I feel like a lot of that is just
- 20:45them. There was no choice but to stay together, right, and now
- 20:48I feel like people are empowered to have that choice again. I feel like
- 20:52we're getting way too deep, are you know? I gotta throw like a
- 20:53silly horse sound effect into kind of even things out, like it Amnua in
- 21:02the morning on Big Nuddy eight points to you hear a lot of people in
- 21:04the workforce complaining about like their younger coworkers, you know. And we talked
- 21:10to a little bit yesterday who is the celebrity who was complaining about gen Z.
- 21:12It was Jody Foster basically saying that she can't stand gen Z at all.
- 21:17She hates working with them because they just are ridiculous, lazy, spelling
- 21:22errors on their resume and their emails, YadA, YadA. Well, there's
- 21:25actually research done on gen Z in the workforce and the things they're doing to
- 21:29not get hired. And so now this isn't this isn't every one of them
- 21:33right. Like I said yesterday, I don't like to just blanket judge an
- 21:37entire generation. Of course. However, eight hundred hiring managers were surveyed and
- 21:41they said that they do lean toward older applicants over gen Z because they're just
- 21:47not making a great impression gen Z. They said that half of them show
- 21:52up in inappropriate attire for a job interview. I can see that, and
- 21:56that's also I think post COVID just a tire in general. Have you noticed
- 22:00wherever you're going everything is just a little bit more laid back, but just
- 22:06trends all of it. Last time I've seen anybody like for interviews. I
- 22:11mean, granted you would think that our job would be just as professional,
- 22:15but wearing like a pantsuit, you know what I mean. I remember like
- 22:18having to dress up even going to I worked at as a hostess at Applebee's
- 22:22and we worked at a shoe store in college. I remember dressing up.
- 22:26I mean it was like full pant suit, maybe a sweater, but you
- 22:30were always dressed to I guess interview, right, that's what we were taught.
- 22:33Anyway, I'm pretty sure I wore a tie to my interview at RB's.
- 22:37That's just it. I think most guys, yeah, yeah, absolutely,
- 22:41They said that this is amazing nearly twenty percent of gen Z even brought
- 22:45a parent to their job interview, like drop them off or brought them,
- 22:52brought them in. So let this will be fine. Hang on, so
- 22:56uh so, Pike, are here for a job today and I'm sorry,
- 23:03what do we have here? Who do you have here with you today?
- 23:07It's like what they asked at the hospital when you're with your family, who
- 23:10do you have here with you? So your son, thank your dad?
- 23:12Mom? Mom? What are you doing here? Oh well, I just
- 23:17wanted to make sure that everything I taught him all these years, he's you
- 23:19know, put into work today. That is bizarre. At least pretend to
- 23:22be their agent or something. No kidding, really quick, going back on
- 23:26this. So my husband, that's one of his his job, like he
- 23:30hires people and he will come home. I'm like, how did the interviewer
- 23:33whatever go? And he is a stickler on it. He's like, well,
- 23:37that person didn't have a tie on, they were dressed this way.
- 23:40He pays attention to that. Yeah, you know absolutely. I mean it
- 23:44all means something like you you could be like the best candidate, but if
- 23:48you're not going to at least go that far to show it, you know,
- 23:51yeah, or noticing how they respond to things, the way they text
- 23:55follow up. I mean even just that following up with an email, like
- 23:57we're we just should be doing that, but that's a lost art and some
- 24:00people just weren't raised that way. Yeah. They also said these hiring interviews
- 24:04hiring managers that gen z over half of them struggled to make eye contact during
- 24:10the interview. And they also ask for unreasonable compensation. Can I get the
- 24:15TikTok salary of that girl because she's showing her toes and she's making about one
- 24:21mill so since I'm gonna be working here, I want about five hundred thousand
- 24:25that would be great. And also the compensation thing, it's probably somewhere in
- 24:27the middle, because I know, if you're like an older hiring manager and
- 24:30you're used to the salaries of when you were growing up, like obviously you
- 24:33know, you might be at the low end of the spectrum, like it's
- 24:34unreasonable to them what you're offering. Okay, you can call me a boomer,
- 24:38but I'm driving by some of these signs locally and I'm like eighteen dollars
- 24:42an hour to work if there are you kidding me? We were making three
- 24:47to four bucks. Yeah, but I just saw actually this morning, I
- 24:49think a tweet or Facebook post or something, but basically says like the new
- 24:52seven twenty five to eight dollars hiring ranges like the new eighteen to twenty five
- 24:57dollars. I mean, just within flate and everything. It's true. I
- 25:00get it. Like we all grew up thinking like six figures was just like
- 25:03you've made it, like you're set. Yeah, I mean yeah, I
- 25:06mean obviously Fargo's different with cost of living and whatnot. But you know,
- 25:08like in a city, like in a bigger city, like that's one hunter
- 25:11k San Francisco, you broke well and you used to be able to get
- 25:15an apartment for three to four hundred dollars. Now it's thirteen to fourteen hundred
- 25:18dollars. You know. So I get it. Man, I'm getting old.
- 25:22We just sound like just ancient. I just really hope one day that
- 25:26Sydney's like, hush, mom, I want to get this job. Will
- 25:30you come with me, like get Amanda in the morning. Now here's what
- 25:34you need to know. Well, this is awesome news. Tyler Roll won't
- 25:41just be stinging on the Bison coaching staff ahead of the twenty twenty four season,
- 25:44he'll be taking on even more responsibility within the program, head coach Tim
- 25:48Paula Seks moving role to the associate head coach. I just feel like that's
- 25:52for good vibes all around. Fuh oh, yeah, I lot good for
- 25:55him. You know, Obviously a lot of people wanted, including the players,
- 25:57wanted them to hire Tyler Role as a head coach. They didn't,
- 26:00but I feel like this was just a way saying, you know, we
- 26:03love you, we appreciate you. So here's this. I know it's not
- 26:06a head coach, but it's an assistant head coach job. Yeah, which
- 26:08I don't know what the you know, I really don't know how much more
- 26:11he'll be doing. It's just a title. Probably I'm feeling good about it.
- 26:15I feel good too. And you know, like I've said before,
- 26:17I had a beer with Tyler Roll at a softball tournament once, and so
- 26:21you know, we're friends for life, and I just really wish the best
- 26:22friend. And remember we were talking about the Alaskan Airlines plane on Friday that
- 26:30basically just had that entire not even just the window, the one side just
- 26:33like blew out. If you were listening yesterday morning. We kept saying window,
- 26:38but then we were corrected. So it was a whole door. Because
- 26:41every article that I've been reading, for instance, this one people found two
- 26:45phones that flew out of the missing window of an Alaskan AirLand. So you're
- 26:48just thinking it's this little window. No, it was this whole side either
- 26:52way, This iPhone that was found sixteen thousand feet, it flew all the
- 26:56way to the ground and is working just fine, zero damage. Yet mine
- 27:00falls off the toilet paper dispenser in our bathroom. Here it crackstall hack.
- 27:06Now, let me ask you this, that's going to kill you if it
- 27:07hits you, right, if that fell from sixteen thousand feet, that would
- 27:11kill a man. Yeah, I think with some of the belongings and the
- 27:12things that flew out, even just the door plug in general, imagine that
- 27:18falling down and crashing you're driving in traffic in that hits Yet, that would
- 27:22be a tough one to any time you lose somebody you love. Tough,
- 27:26but phone falling from an airplane. I wouldn't be able to stomach that one.
- 27:30Noo pretty lawsuit, I imagine that, Yeah, no kidding. Tiger
- 27:36would announce his longtime partnership with Nike has ended after twenty seven years, and
- 27:41I was, honestly, the shocking thing for me was how did he get
- 27:44through all of those scandals because we forget about some of the things. I
- 27:47mean remember the mistresses. Yeah, there was what twenty seven of those?
- 27:52Well that we know about it, I mean it was crazy. And then
- 27:55not at situation with his ex yeah, I mean there was that was hard.
- 28:00That was her finding out on him, batching his car with a golf
- 28:03club. Then the infamous all of a sudden you just drove off the road,
- 28:07passed out and nobody's questioning how you passed out? And I got a
- 28:11Tui before that. Like it's some somewhere in between. So you know,
- 28:15he's at his struggles. But I feel like, you know, glad we
- 28:18could forgive him and you know, be empathetic and he's a human too,
- 28:21totally. But twenty seven years unscathed with Nike, that's incredible. I wonder
- 28:25what prompted them to end it. I mean he's still golfing, but man,
- 28:27he made a lot of money just from that one deal. If you
- 28:30could be let me ask you this, if you could be the endorser of
- 28:33one brand. What would it be? Was it Lulu Lemon Girl? Oh,
- 28:38Lulu Athleta. I don't know. I'm trying to think. I'm just
- 28:42not into the fashion game like I used to know. I don't know what
- 28:45brand, whatever brand I buy from Coles, Mommy jammies, I don't know.
- 28:51Dick what's the dick Dickies, Huskies? What am I thinking of?
- 28:59Ranimal? I might be thinking of Dickies. Yeah, those nice pants.
- 29:03Some Corduroys. No Dockers, Thank you, Doers. You're minding you two?
- 29:11Oh gosh, Hickers, Dockers, Hickery, Dickery, docs and Amanda
- 29:15in the morning on sign New Year's resolutions, how are they going? It
- 29:19is January ninth, and if you're still going strong, congratulations. I kind
- 29:25of feel like we just went away with New Year's resolutions, just you personally
- 29:27or us as a whole, us as a hole. I just I don't
- 29:30know. I don't hear many people saying like they have a clear cut one.
- 29:33No, it's more of just, hey, these are some things I
- 29:37want to work on. It's a clean slate, and I just want to
- 29:40do better this year. Yep, that's always a good goal. Well,
- 29:42if you do have a resolution you're already considering dropping it. A couple reminders
- 29:47for you, okay, Like, for one, specifically on the weight lost
- 29:49thing. Yep, they say that if you're hoping to lose weight, the
- 29:52key is to make a pledge not to diet in the new year. And
- 29:55you hear that a lot, right. It's all about creating a lifestyle chain
- 30:00because diets you're never gonna be able to do forever. And just be realistic.
- 30:03I think I was telling you about this. I've been working out a
- 30:06little bit more and instead of just like diving in and I used to do
- 30:08this all the time and I would make it eight days, I'm like,
- 30:12oh, you just dive in, start working out like super super hard,
- 30:15get heavyweights like I hurt, I hurt my back. Yeah, I can't
- 30:19do this, so just baby step through it. I mean there's nothing wrong
- 30:22with that, no, And yeah, like for me, I think if
- 30:26I'm going to work out, I need to like lift hard and then do
- 30:29you know, I could do like interval sprints on the treadmill, and that's
- 30:30just like not sustainable because you hate it so much right away, especially so
- 30:34just doing like going to the gym. Honestly, you don't even have to
- 30:38do anything, just get your body, like in your mind, feeling that
- 30:42sensation of going to the gym, putting your stuff on, being there,
- 30:45and then once you're there a lot of times you'd be like, well,
- 30:48what the heck, might as well do something. Wait a minute, so
- 30:49hang on, are you saying like just actually you wouldn't go and work out,
- 30:53you would just walk in. I'm not even kidding. I've done this
- 30:56before, because I read it one time that just drive to the gym park.
- 31:02You don't have to go in. Just tell yourself you don't have to
- 31:04do a single thing, just go there. What More often than not you'll
- 31:08find that, well, I'll just go inm just well yeah, because otherwise
- 31:11you're just sitting there. Right. You could take a nap in your car
- 31:14if you want. I've done that, But mentally it's so much easier for
- 31:17you to digest or you know, the thought of going to run on a
- 31:19treadmill and it sounds horrible, right, I'd rather do a million things.
- 31:23Hear it's at a trick, they say on definitely are I have never heard
- 31:26that before. I should be a be a die consultant for me either,
- 31:30Like I got a diet. I know that long term, like you want
- 31:33to create the lifestyle change, but that's not going to get me to lose
- 31:34twenty pounds by March, you know. So you've got to diet for me
- 31:37anyway to start and then transform that like sort of gradually create the lifestyle change,
- 31:44you know. Yeah. Another thing about your New Year's resolution. If
- 31:45you're thinking about giving it up, they say, just don't beat yourself up,
- 31:48right, don't be hard on yourself. Yeah, obviously the stats are
- 31:52staggering. Most people not going to even last through the month with their New
- 31:56Year's resolution. I tell you what I did last year. I suppose I
- 31:57wasn't here. I was gonna run a mile because I had a friend in
- 32:01Florida who he's run a mile at least every day for like four and a
- 32:07half years, really not one time as he skipped a day no matter what
- 32:10vacation, sick, doesn't matter. And so I was like, what a
- 32:14mile. I can do that, you know, no matter how out of
- 32:16shape I am, I can run a mile. And so I started doing
- 32:19it and it was awesome. So New Year's Day, I'm running a mile.
- 32:22I'm like, this is how many other New year's days. So I
- 32:24just lay in bed hung over it. So I'm running a mile. January
- 32:28fifth comes around and starting to run a mile a little faster, feel better
- 32:30about it. January tenth comes around, Amanda, and I'm just flying when
- 32:34suddenly I stepped on the side of a sidewalk as I was almost home,
- 32:37rolled my ankle. Swear to God, no, I never went to the
- 32:40doctor, but I am almost sure I broke it. Ooh, and so
- 32:44I'm laying on the sidewalk like almost in tears. Had to crawl home.
- 32:49I mean it's like one hundred years you was serious. Literally had to crawl
- 32:52home. And I couldn't even like barely walk for three months it couldn't run.
- 32:57I was so frustrated. A real injury. Yeah, So I was
- 33:00like into it and it's just how are you feeling now? How's that foot?
- 33:02It still aches occasionally, I can still feel like if I run,
- 33:06Yeah, it's like really And then I kept re rolling it and so it
- 33:08would reinjerre itself. Jumped on a bike. That's where I have found myself
- 33:14enjoying. We have a bike and I just my body like the older you
- 33:17get, like I cannot run. I just need to get my body there
- 33:22where. Maybe by this summer I'll feel a little bit better about running.
- 33:24Yeah. Man, just getting old. I like kneeze all of it.
- 33:29I'm like, geez, we got to go to an indoor track one day
- 33:31and just do hundred yard sprints, you and me. I think I'd probably
- 33:35use that protocol that you would mention. Just just sit in the drive or
- 33:37in the parking lot.
