- 0:00We frequently hear people say that they had a gut feeling that
- 0:04something was not right when they went to a certain place.
- 0:08In fact, most of us have had similar feelings from time to
- 0:11time. We don't have any extremely
- 0:15perceptible facts to base this feeling on.
- 0:17It just is. The same thing happens when we
- 0:21get into certain situations or interact with certain people.
- 0:25We just know there is something there to take care about.
- 0:31Of course, this feeling can also work in the positive direction
- 0:35and give us a feeling of well-being in certain situations
- 0:39or a sense that an individual we are interacting with is going to
- 0:43be a positive force in our lives.
- 0:46For the most part, we don't think any more about this, how
- 0:50it happens, what the process is and what it means.
- 0:55We simply experience the sense or feeling and acknowledge it to
- 0:59ourselves. This is perhaps one of the most
- 1:03basic primal forms of intuition, more or less an instinctive
- 1:08response to some energy pattern that we feel.
- 1:12There may be primeval trained responses embedded in the human
- 1:16psyche, or we may be experiencing an intuitive
- 1:21knowledge not based on the senses and the mind, but on some
- 1:25other sensing organ in the being.
- 1:28A disciple asks mother how can the faculty of intuition be
- 1:33developed? The mother responds quote.
- 1:39There are different kinds of intuition and we carry these
- 1:42capacities within us. They are always active to some
- 1:47extent, but we don't notice them because we don't pay enough
- 1:50attention to what is going on in US.
- 1:53Behind the emotions, deep within the being, in a consciousness
- 1:58seated somewhere near the level of the solar plexus, there is a
- 2:03sort of prescience, a kind of capacity for foresight, but not
- 2:08in the form of ideas, rather in the form of feelings, almost a
- 2:14perception of sensations. For instance, when 1 is going to
- 2:19decide to do something, there is sometimes a kind of uneasiness
- 2:23or inner refusal, and usually if one listens to this deeper
- 2:29indication, one realized that it was justified.
- 2:35In other cases there is something that urges, indicates,
- 2:39insists. I am not Speaking of impulses.
- 2:43You understand of all the movements which come from the
- 2:45vital and much lower still indications which are behind the
- 2:51feelings, which comes from the affective part of the being.
- 2:56There too, one can receive a fairly sure indication of the
- 3:00thing to be done. These are forms of intuition, or
- 3:05of a higher instinct, which can be cultivated by observation and
- 3:10also by studying the results. Naturally, it must be done very
- 3:16sincerely, objectively, without prejudice.
- 3:20If one wants to see things in a particular way and at the same
- 3:24time practice this observation, it is all useless.
- 3:29One must do it as if one were looking at what is happening
- 3:32from outside oneself, in someone else.
- 3:37It is one form of intuition and perhaps the first one that
- 3:41usually manifests. End Quote.
