- 0:26Welcome into the Treehouse. I'm Dana Malley along with Trey Trenholme and visiting us
- 0:35once again friend comedian actor Raj Charma. Hello, Raj, Hello everybody.
- 0:43Quick reminder we will be at Daddy Rabbits Pub in Louisville Friday, July seventh
- 0:51from five to seven pm. That will be our very second Treehouse Podcast live
- 0:58road show. So if you miss the very first, this is your opportunity
- 1:03to attend the very second Treehouse Podcast Live road show at Daddy Rabbits Pub in
- 1:10Louisville. That's two nine seven Round Grove Road in Louisville. It's one twenty
- 1:15one and Round Grove Common area for lots of people and that know it.
- 1:21I'm expecting to have a very good time. Roj you will be there,
- 1:25Trey, you will be there. I will be there. I believe Everett
- 1:29Newton will be there and you. We would love to see you at Daddy
- 1:33Rabbits Pub. Yeah. People are actually reaching out to me via the Graham
- 1:38as the kids call it. Oh yeah, yeah. I've had a couple
- 1:42of people are like, um, the just message like hey, we're gonna
- 1:46be there. So yeah, I mean if a couple of people are reaching
- 1:49out to me. I can only imagine how packed it's going to be.
- 1:53I'm excited for the first one was a lot of fun. I'm expecting.
- 1:57The way that we do things is we tried to always improve. You know.
- 2:04Yes, if you're not improving, you're regressing. So we want to
- 2:06make the second one better than the first, and then eventually, if we
- 2:08do a third, we want to make that better than the one before it,
- 2:12and so on and so forth, and and and I can't remember it's
- 2:15on again on Instagram, but somebody sent me, uh when when your listeners
- 2:21sent me the ten oh Jerry's nails? Uh senting a picture of the container.
- 2:29So he said, uh, so I don't feel left out. Here's
- 2:31what it looks like. Well, I there is I'd kind of forgotten about
- 2:37I'd kind of forgotten about it. I don't know if I if I if
- 2:39I blocked it out or whatever it was. But I was reading the Instagram
- 2:45message and I was like, what is this guy talking? And I kept
- 2:49looking at this container and I'm like, what am I. I had to
- 2:53read the message again and again, and finally I went, oh, Rose,
- 3:00Okay, Yeah, I mean I'm not I'm not like, I'm not
- 3:01like Trey grossed out, but I was like, but when it hit me,
- 3:05I was like, that's what I've been staring at for the last two
- 3:07minutes. Oh God, what this is? Yeah? That is a healthy
- 3:09container? Is it? I feel like it's more like a container full of
- 3:15red flags. But the good news, the good news for Trey, though,
- 3:23is Jerry will not be at this road show. He is actually he
- 3:30is actually uh bragging and flexing by having by going on vacation. I can't
- 3:36remember the last time he's ever gone on vacation, at least not really does
- 3:38he No, will he will he take the tin with him? I don't
- 3:43know. Part of me thinks that if he's on vacation, he would probably
- 3:47trim before he leaves, and then he might even though he's going to Hot
- 3:53Springs, Arkansas to go be gently boiled alive. I feel like, if
- 3:59you're going on vacation, you leave, you leave all your work behind,
- 4:02right, so the ten of Fingernails may still make an appearance at the road
- 4:08show. Okay, I got you, Yeah, because I mean I got
- 4:12Looking at Trey's face, he does not seem too thrilled about I think you
- 4:16know, much like if I, you know, was going on a road
- 4:19trip to Hot Springs, I would probably take Daisy with me, Like Jerry
- 4:24should take his canister of nails with him. Well, I want to know,
- 4:28like does he does he buckle it in? Like is it like the
- 4:30Felma and Louise moment where they're just like, Hey, we're going across It's
- 4:32me and you nails going across the country. Um. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:38I just saw that. I saw somebody I had. I had the weekend
- 4:42off. Everyone's time off these days. What's that like? I know,
- 4:46Man, I didn't. I didn't. I had I got to read the
- 4:49emails, stuff in my Instagram, stuff that I don't really to do very
- 4:54often, or I'm just doing in the green room of a club. Yeah,
- 4:57I had the weekend off, and I didn't. I didn't know.
- 5:00Uh, the first time a very very long time. I think it's probably
- 5:03been, if I had to guess, maybe twelve years. Wow. So
- 5:08that means for twelve years, every weekend, yes, you were working,
- 5:12You're at a comedy club, or you're doing something for work. Yes.
- 5:16So so in that case, for the first time in twelve years, you
- 5:19you had the weekend off. So what did you do? I I uh
- 5:24ordered ordered pizza, um wow, and and uh I watched I don't even
- 5:30know what. I don't even know what movie it was. I just put
- 5:33something on definitely and I was like, okay, so this is what you
- 5:35guys do. So for your first weekend off in twelve years, you Netflix
- 5:41and chilled by yourself. I did, I did. I thought you were
- 5:45a fan like rog you were one of the biggest Motley Crew fans I know.
- 5:47And they would all be so disappointed in your party habits right now,
- 5:51I know, but they're all except for events, they're they're all sober,
- 5:55so uh you know, so so yeah, I think they might be appreciative
- 6:00of my Yeah. I mean, all you have to do show him what
- 6:02vice looks like today and they say this is why. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:09And it's so funny. You know. I still think that way too,
- 6:11when you know, you think about rock bands, I would remember. This
- 6:15is name dropping as all get out. But Brad Williams is a dear friend
- 6:17of mine. We want to go see Shinedown was in town. Brad Williams,
- 6:20the Little Person comedian, the Little Person comic, and he's really good
- 6:25friends with the guys in Shinedown and we went and watched them and they're just
- 6:29all like super over the top rock stars like it was. It was amazing.
- 6:32And then we went back into the dressing room and it was pizza and
- 6:36sprite and I was like, wow, this is since what rock stars doing?
- 6:41Now? This is I was expecting like like chicks and like you know,
- 6:45just like walking into that like opening the door and like the cloud of
- 6:47smoke, like there's still like metal playing and like there's whatever, and it's
- 6:53now. They were just cheeze pizza and sprite. I was like, honestly,
- 6:56honestly, even though we were just a you know what charity band,
- 7:00you know band at the various trash parties that we did, that was more
- 7:06rock star than what you just described very much so. And I was I
- 7:11was at a few of those. It was a few of the ones that
- 7:15you guys did, and that those were very very cool, uh like celebt
- 7:19like you felt like a celebrity. Uh, And like this one, I
- 7:23was like, so where are the where are the chicks? And like,
- 7:25oh, this is the wife and these are the kids, and I was
- 7:28like, Okay, where's the other room where the yeah, and They're like,
- 7:33no, you're you're in that room And I was like, oh,
- 7:35this is Can I get a slice? Are are they in the closet?
- 7:39Are they stuffed away somewhere like in case of emergency pool for groupies? Yeah?
- 7:45I was like that because I wanted to see that, because you hear
- 7:46all the stories about like Motley Crue and def Leppard and Metallica back in the
- 7:51day, and I'm like, dude, I want to see these groupie I
- 7:55want to see I want to see I want to see one and heard the
- 7:58stories. You want to see them in real life. Yeah, I don't
- 8:01know if they've just all died out. I don't know what happened. If
- 8:03they just got all like they just are on LinkedIn and have new jobs,
- 8:05Like, I don't know what they're I don't know what they do, Like,
- 8:09I don't know if they go. I think they all have only fans
- 8:11accounts. Now the group's learned instead of the group, he's going to the
- 8:18band. They make the band come to them virtually. Yeah. So I
- 8:22just I just sat and and E eight some pizza and I was like,
- 8:28this is so, this is what you guys, And it was like by
- 8:31ten thirty I'm like, okay, ten thirty, you know, you're getting
- 8:33ready for a second show. Uh, sometimes even a third show. And
- 8:37I was like, oh, let me just kick my feet up on this
- 8:39coffee table and this kind of there and I was like, wow, okay,
- 8:43I can't. I can't. I can't get used to it. But
- 8:46it was, it was it felt like vacation. So what movie did you
- 8:50watch? I don't, I don't even I think it was just a Docky's.
- 8:56I think it was a documentary. I watched a lot of them.
- 8:58They all kind of blend together because they're all murder documentaries. Uh and so,
- 9:01um, I think this was the night Stalker is this is the Richard
- 9:05Ramirez one Gotchak is what I ended up. So yeah, some pizza and
- 9:07some night Stalker solid. It was a it was a good it was weird
- 9:13un that you typically do on a on a Friday. I mean, now
- 9:16you've you've got a you've got a new bar job, so on a Friday
- 9:18night, you're I think you're working now, But on a night in are
- 9:22you doing the same thing? You know, pizza and couch? Oh yes,
- 9:26I'm my you know, I don't know exactly when it happened, but
- 9:31yeah, my fomo changed, you know, fear of missing out of my
- 9:35bed and am I have a night off? There's nothing I've think I've done.
- 9:41Grip. You know, I'm doing really well if I'm in bed by
- 9:43ten o'clock watching a movie, you know, chilling with Daisy. Oh dais
- 9:48a three pound chiuaba. Yeah no, that see your idea of fomo,
- 9:52now, Trey is if you're out somewhere, your fomo is what's Daisy the
- 9:54chiuaba doing? I miss her? Yeah? I mean yeah, I don't
- 10:00think I could get used to like, I don't want that to be like
- 10:03every weekend. It was, it was, it was odd enough to enjoy.
- 10:07I'll just put it like if that makes any sense. Like I was
- 10:11like, this is weird and kind of cool. Well, I mean it's
- 10:13it is weird for most people because most people see that as their normal weekend.
- 10:16But your normal weekend is working. You're you know, you're going to
- 10:20the club, you're you're you know, you got, like you said,
- 10:22you might have one or two, maybe even three shows and in the odd
- 10:26odd chance you have something going on that much. But that's your worktime.
- 10:31Other people's downtime is your worktime. Yeah, and it's kind of similar for
- 10:35Trey, because you know, working in service industry, it's, you know,
- 10:39kind of a similar thing. Yeah, work when other people are supposed
- 10:43to be relaxing. Yeah, it's like the bartenders weekend is what Monday and
- 10:46Tuesday? Isn't that what they say? Yeah, basically, I mean,
- 10:50and that's it. You know, if you're in the if you're in any
- 10:52industry where you're you're out all the time. It's like when you're off,
- 10:58you don't want I mean you go to another bar or anything else. It's
- 11:01you're in the same environment as your work, and it's it's like and I'd
- 11:05rather be just pieces. I think that's one of the biggest things with me
- 11:07is age is you're working in bars, the noise level you deal with just
- 11:13normally when you get to be at someplace quiet, it's so nice. It's
- 11:20actually it's perfect that you mentioned that, because everybody i'd know that has ever
- 11:22worked in service industry feels that way. And obviously Tara, my wife,
- 11:26worked in service industry for years and she started in restaurants. So the I
- 11:33don't know, if I don't know if it's still a trend in restaurants.
- 11:35But when the trend happened where it was the open kitchen concept at restaurants,
- 11:41so diners got to see kind of the action at the pass and in the
- 11:43window and things. And every time we would go to a place like that,
- 11:48Tara's like, don't we don't want to sit anywhere near that. She
- 11:50wanted to be as far away from that as possible because it just brought back,
- 11:54it was triggering, it was stress. But I'm kind of getting I
- 12:01kind of feel like now with YouTube with Trey and Raj, since um,
- 12:05your idea of the perfect evening is is a pizza in a documentary and hanging
- 12:11out with your dog. Maybe you guys, could you know, do that
- 12:13together if you ever felt lonely. I don't know if I'm not. I
- 12:18don't know if I'm that comfortable. No, no, no offense, tray
- 12:24note taken. My My problem is I enjoy lonely. I'm perfectly happy being
- 12:31by myself. I'm an only child. Like that's probably, oh yeah,
- 12:35just a whole gen X thing as in general of oh yeah, I don't
- 12:41like I have no problem going out to eat by myself, going to a
- 12:43movie by myself, doing all yeah, I cannot do that. I can't.
- 12:46I just can't. I can't. That's the movie by Yourself thing.
- 12:50Like I see those guys and I'm like, I want to go sit next
- 12:52to them. I'm like, do you need a friend? No? No,
- 12:54we don't. I love that. I love love love. The only
- 13:01better thing is going take the other person. Well, look, I mean
- 13:05sometimes I want to go see a movie that I know she has no interest
- 13:07in, and I don't want to drag her to one that's called marriage.
- 13:11Well, funny you mentioned that because I heard about recently something called a Yes
- 13:20weekend. Okay, so this might actually work for you and Trey Raj if
- 13:24you decided to ever go in on your you know, kick ass weekend nights
- 13:28together. But the Yes weekend should be self explanatory, but I'll give you
- 13:37some more details. During a Yes weekend, one person picks what the couple
- 13:43does all weekend, including activities, what they eat, and where they go.
- 13:52It rotates who's doing the picking every other month, or I guess you
- 13:54can, you know, make it work however you want with your with your
- 13:58significant other. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, but it's a quote great
- 14:01way to connect and communicate as a couple. Um, that is hands down
- 14:09the worst idea I've every well wait wait wait, hang on, hang on,
- 14:13hey on, rage, hang on rage. Let's this is getting put
- 14:16on us when the married guy should be the one that tests this out and
- 14:20tells us how it goes. No, no, no, no no,
- 14:22no, I'm doing I'm gonna do this. Unlike Rage, I think this
- 14:26is a fantastic idea. This solves no, like eighty five percent of my
- 14:31problems. No, this if yes, if it was if it was my,
- 14:35if it was my if we did if my girlfriend I did that,
- 14:39Uh, we we would we would move in at Costco's. But that's where
- 14:46comes so so Darren, during during her yes weekend, you have to say
- 14:50yes to everything that that she wants and says it would just be Costco.
- 14:54Well then that's fine. But then the next weekend or you know, it's
- 14:56it's your weekend and she's got to do everything you want to do. Yeah,
- 15:01that would be moving back from Costco. That would be the other weekend.
- 15:03It would just be moving back into our place from Costco where we lived
- 15:07off samples. Uh like that's the that's the that would be dinner like hopefully
- 15:13the sample ladies out. Otherwise we're gonna starve to death because I'm I I'm
- 15:18the one who cooks. Okay, I'm the cook, and then I pick.
- 15:22Like, as long as it's in the murder genre, she'll we can
- 15:24we can watch stuff together. But if it's like, hey, let me
- 15:28watch let me watch this movie. Uh, there's a lot of cool,
- 15:33she's gonna play some bingo on her phone and then fall asleep. Um So
- 15:39if it's if it's her, if it's a babe, it's your weekend.
- 15:41Anything you want to do, her face will light up. It's like what
- 15:45time does Costco opens? And she already knows what time it opens? Yeah,
- 15:50and then that's where we'll be. So if if it's a yes weekend,
- 15:54I'll let the I'll post it on Instagram, like you can find me
- 15:56at the Costco off the toe and come help, like I need, I
- 16:02need to get out. I think that's a terrible idea. I don't know
- 16:04who's I don't know who's come up with this pizzo. Dan, When when
- 16:08Tara Tara's weekend? I feel fairly confident that you'll be gardening and then shopping
- 16:15for baby goats and chickens. What about when it's your yes weekend? Yeah,
- 16:22movies, video games. Uh so basically my yes with you, you
- 16:30will see. I think what'll end up happening is my my Yes weekend will
- 16:33turn into more of a lonely weekend. So this is why you think it's
- 16:40a great idea. Look, whatever my reasonings are are irrelevant. What is
- 16:47important is my willingness to take part in the Yes weekend. But but the
- 16:55Yes weekend really does solve what are the big problems that that my wife and
- 17:00I have in our relationship, which is making decisions Because I have come to
- 17:06terms to a certain degree that on some level I'm a people pleaser, And
- 17:14it depends on the situation, it depends on the scenario. But I've I've
- 17:18long said when it came time in a relationship, when it came time to
- 17:22figure out what do you want to eat for dinner or something like that,
- 17:26I was always like, I'm easy, I'll find something to eat anywhere.
- 17:29What do you want? And then and then it turns into not being able
- 17:34to figure something out. And I was actually informed that me saying whatever you
- 17:40want is find by me, I can find something anywhere. Actually, doesn't
- 17:42help because my contribution was I'm okay with anything in the world to eat.
- 17:48I'm okay with anything in the kitchen, I'm okay with any restaurant nearby.
- 17:53I'm okay with any of it. And therefore that's a non decision. Well
- 17:57yeah, because because really, actually the conversation is they want you to make
- 18:03a decision and them to be able to say, no, is there a
- 18:07camera that you have access to in my home. I've just been in relationships
- 18:14because that that also happens where it's like, Okay, I know what I'm
- 18:17gonna do, because part of what I've been trying to do is is okay,
- 18:21what would I do if I were by myself? That makes it easy
- 18:22because yeah, so then I would say, okay, I would let's do
- 18:26this, and then that usually gets shot down. I will tell you a
- 18:36girl that I dated in California. The only takeaway and or contribution to the
- 18:42relationship from her ever was this one thing. And it's brilliant and it will
- 18:48solve your where do you want to eat? Issues every single time. So
- 18:52I'd go, hey, so what do you want to do for dinner?
- 18:55She goes, well, let's pick two things out there. So you go,
- 19:00let's burgers or Chinese and then she goes, now, act like you're
- 19:07eating it, right, So pretend like eating a burger or you're eating Chinese
- 19:11food. Which one as you're doing, like when you're minming it or whatever.
- 19:15Which one seems the most appealing, that's the one you want to go
- 19:18with. So when you're like, oh, like, oh like I meaning
- 19:21a burger, Oh this this is gonna be good, or a Chinese,
- 19:23just the look on their face you go, okay, yeah, we'll do
- 19:26Chinese. And it's worked every single time. I pretend like I'm actually eating
- 19:30in my head, I'll go, okay, that's the one I want.
- 19:33It works almost every time. If you if you have an indecisive person,
- 19:37when you go, hey, do you want you want Italian or do you
- 19:40want uh you know, uh whatever, you know, I don't know,
- 19:45go okay, Well, there's two dishes in front of you. Take a
- 19:48bite out of each one. Sometimes what we'll do is we'll do our process
- 19:52of elimination. Well, you're narrowing not a suspect, yeah, basically,
- 20:00so, so imagine imagine a restaurant lineup. Okay, so you've got you've
- 20:04got six you've got six suspects. You know, you've got your Applebee's,
- 20:08you've got your olive garden. Uh, maybe you've got something nicer like a
- 20:12popa doze or something. And then and then what you'll do is you take
- 20:18turns eliminating one. Oh wow, and then the ideas that you eventually land
- 20:23on your prime suspect and that's where you go eat and it's almost always Chipotle.
- 20:33Yeah yeah, yeah. I say. It's like you throw out six
- 20:37things and get all shot down and then you somehow end up at the default,
- 20:41which is the one you were kind of thinking of. I don't want
- 20:42to eat that again. We eat that all the time, but there it
- 20:45is. But but there's a reason why we eat there all the time.
- 20:48It's because it's the one that's always left standing. Yeah no, there's no
- 20:52there's no Chipotle on the island. There isn't. So that's why that's why
- 20:56the idea of this Yes weekend is really really helpful because living on an island,
- 21:03you only have so many options, and I would say half the options
- 21:08here are going to be on the nicer side because that you know, the
- 21:11islands catered to tourists quite a bit, so I'd say I'd say about half
- 21:17the restaurants are kind of elimited. Well maybe not half, but a good
- 21:19chunk of them are eliminated if you just don't feel like spending the money or
- 21:23getting dressed up, right, Oh gotcha? Okay, Now, the other
- 21:26pop problem is we all live in our bubbles. It doesn't matter whether you're
- 21:30living in Dallas, for Worth, Arlington or here on St. Thomas.
- 21:36You got your bubble and you don't want to drive beyond it. So in
- 21:40our immediate bubble, there are three places. Two are bars on the beach
- 21:47that have food, and the other one is kind of a nicer restaurant that
- 21:52has a lot of raw fishing things and tears not a big fan of sushi.
- 21:55So that really means we really only have two places. So we usually
- 22:00end up at one of those two unless we feel like driving more than ten
- 22:03minutes. Then then my suggestion would be, uh, in your process of
- 22:10elimination, just go, hey, let's just go to that. Let's just
- 22:14go to the one bar with the food, and then we'll decide there.
- 22:18That's kind of what we do. So what we do is because they're they're
- 22:22they're very close to one another, one's on one end of the beach and
- 22:25one's on the other end of the beach, will kind of park in the
- 22:27middle and we'll we'll look at the specials board at one to see if that's
- 22:33enticing enough to pull us in, or we'll go to the other place.
- 22:37But I still say the idea of the Yes weekend sounds like fun because it's
- 22:41not just where to go to eat, although that's obviously a big part of
- 22:44it, but it's things you're going to do all weekend and trays right,
- 22:48I feel like I kind of do yes weekends already. Like the last you
- 22:51know, two weeks, we've been in the middle of of building out our
- 22:52new chicken coop. So um yeah, I feel like I feel like it's
- 22:57time for a uh me Yes weekend. But it's also a great excuse for
- 23:06me to uh to play this classic clip from the film What Do You Want?
- 23:15Also known as the Notebook. What's great about this is no matter how
- 23:21many times I play it, it makes me smile And you never even have
- 23:25to have seen the movie, which for a lot of us, is preferable
- 23:29to know and understand and feel everything happening in this out of context clip.
- 23:36What do you want? What do you want? Do you want? Damn?
- 23:45What do you want? I have to go and that right there,
- 24:00that whole movie might have lasted five minutes if they had just experimented with a
- 24:07yes weekend, and man, it'd be about one hundred million men would be
- 24:14really thankful. Visit us online at Treehouse OnAir dot com. All right,
- 24:30let's welcome into the Treehouse our friend and very dear sponsor, Rodney Anderson.
- 24:36His phone number nine seven fifty two hundred. His website is Rodney Anderson dot
- 24:41com. You know, Rodney, I know that credit card debt is out
- 24:44of control for a lot of people, and I know you've helped a lot
- 24:48of people with that through cash out refinances. But I'm curious, from an
- 24:52emotional standpoint, what's it like when you're able to help someone through a cash
- 24:56out refinance to get out of debt. What's it like for I think about
- 25:00this. You have financial handcuffs on basically where your life is dealing with maxed
- 25:07out credit cards. You're Robin Peter to pay Paul to pay some of these,
- 25:11and you're watching these minimum payments go up because the average credit card in
- 25:15the United States right now is twenty four percent. And it doesn't matter how
- 25:18much money you make, it's how much money you spend. I have a
- 25:21client that move forward on a cash out refinance the other day between a husband
- 25:25and wife. They made three hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year, but
- 25:29they had over one hundred and fifty thousand dollars in credit card debt. They
- 25:30had a ton of equity in their home, but dan that really gets in
- 25:34their way and people start fighting about it, they start having divorces over it
- 25:40and all that. So we always tell people a cash out refinance maybe a
- 25:44simple solution, and the rates are a help a lot better than these credit
- 25:48cards and all that. And just imagine, you know, getting your credit
- 25:52cleaned up with getting out of debt. Because the credit card companies change algorithms.
- 25:57Excuse me, the credit barel's change the algorithms about six to nine months
- 26:03ago, putting a bigger emphasis on credit card debt. So if you have
- 26:06a lot of credit card debt, you have lower credit scores. Now.
- 26:08I've actually noticed that with mine. I had mine build up a little bit
- 26:11before I paid it off, and I noticed I get one of those little
- 26:15updates on my credit score from the bank. I was like, Hey,
- 26:17what the heck it's so that was that was surprising. I'm glad you're able
- 26:21to tell me that that is why so paying that off. I should see
- 26:25a change in that pretty soon. So if you want Rodney to help you
- 26:26and you can experience that emotional relief, give Rodney and his team a call
- 26:32right now see if they can help you out. Nine seven tift two hundred

- 27:34three Cook DFW or COOKDFW dot com on the heels of the Titan submersible being
- 27:48crushed somewhere near the bottom of the Atlantic. I guess the world hasn't given
- 27:56us enough just horrific things happening to a human that are possible, because this
- 28:03morning I wake up and I'm doing my normal doom scrolling and one of the
- 28:07first headlines I see is Texas airport worker dies after being sucked into Delta jet
- 28:15engine. Oh wow, Yeah, And I don't think this was the first
- 28:21one this year. I think there was another one earlier this year. But
- 28:26god, I can't even imagine. No, because we did in a previous
- 28:33episode of The Treehouse. We decided to to take our stupidity down to the
- 28:38bottom of the Atlantic with Billy the kids. So we dragged him with us
- 28:41in our in our little nightmare tube, and we were talking about and discussing
- 28:45all the various things we had read and seen and heard about what not only
- 28:51happens to that submersible once it depressurizes, but what happens to the human body.
- 28:56Little yea, I remember seeing people were sending me all sorts of links,
- 29:02including one that MythBusters did years ago, and there was a video they
- 29:07did. They had like a like a like a like a pig carcass or
- 29:11something inside of a diver suit and they ran an experiment and I don't remember
- 29:18what depth they were, but it was nowhere near the depth of what this
- 29:22Titan submersible went through. And the carnage that I saw happened in this in
- 29:29this, in this video is really just disgusting, there's no way around it.
- 29:36The only good thing about it was we all just kind of figured,
- 29:40well, it happened so quickly, and your brain can't perceive it happening,
- 29:45so you have no idea that it's happened or it's going to happen. It
- 29:48just happens. And yeah, I think I think it was what they It
- 29:53was a tenth of a second or a hundredth of a second, true mil
- 30:00seconds is what I saw a whole video because this guy, it was some
- 30:03doctor or physic, I don't know, but he said sometimes said it takes
- 30:11eight milliseconds for the brain. I think it was eight milliseconds for the brain
- 30:15to recognize sight and sound, and like twelve milliseconds for it to recognize pain.
- 30:21And they said this was all over in like two milliseconds because the one
- 30:25thing I don't know if you we talked about this with Billy, but they
- 30:29said, this guy said, the thermal energy created from you know, the
- 30:34pressure changing, so basically it literally just melts, so you know, hotter
- 30:41than the sun. It would just basically melt the body and before you get
- 30:48crushed into a meat sickle. Yeah. Yeah, the pressure. Um,
- 30:52the best way I heard it put was that submersible if you were to put
- 30:56but it was um three hundred I think it was three hundred tons per squitch.
- 31:00So so it was the equivalent of having the Empire State building on top
- 31:06of that submersible is how much pressure so once you depressure, it's like having
- 31:11the Empire State Building fall on you. Yeah. So it yeah, that
- 31:18yeah, that is so. The worker at San Antonio's International Airport died after
- 31:25being sucked into a Jets engine. A source brief directly on the case told
- 31:30The Guardian that it appeared the worker had intentionally stepped in front of the live
- 31:34engine, and police were investigating that aspect of it, but the cause of
- 31:41the worker's death had not officially been determined at the time that this was written,
- 31:47and the source spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation was still
- 31:51pending. Although it's the outcome is pretty obvious, they're just trying to pably
- 31:57figure out, you know, the how or maybe the why. Um.
- 32:00It occurred around ten twenty five PM as Delta Airlines jet, which had just
- 32:05arrived from Los Angeles, was taxing to an arrival gate. Officials added that
- 32:09the worker, whose identity had not been publicly released, was ingested into one
- 32:14engine, which the plane in question had on at the time. Wow,
- 32:21so this is one of those where you would assume that it it happened so
- 32:24quickly that maybe you can't perceive it either. Yeah, but they said it
- 32:30was he did it intentionally. So he was like, that's the thing,
- 32:34right as he said that, The article says, yeah, and that's that's
- 32:37according to and you know one person, It's like he may have intended to
- 32:42walk in front of the engine, but maybe he didn't intend to get sucked
- 32:45into it. I don't know, but it's yeah, because I mean,
- 32:47if that either way, right, you have to like there's the point where
- 32:52you see like you see the plane, You're like, Okay, I'm about
- 32:55to about to do this, whereas the people in the submersible were like and
- 33:02then that was it. They were just like, hey, I've seen this.
- 33:07I've seen this happen in movies enough times to where if I'm anywhere near
- 33:13a jet, yeah, I am walking so far around those engines, it's
- 33:20not even it's not even comic how far away I am. I'm the exact
- 33:24the exact same way. And I don't know where that I remember hearing it
- 33:29as a kid, as if that thing is on, you can get pulled
- 33:32through and then that would be it. Uh and then uh. In India
- 33:37they still do and in some parts of Europe as well, when you land
- 33:40it's you still you get off, you get off onto the tarmac. And
- 33:44that's actually how it happens here in the Virgin Islands and you flying to Saint
- 33:46Thomas, you go down the stairs and you're on You're on the tarmac.
- 33:51Yeah. And so every time like that, like what you what you just
- 33:54said, Dan, Like every single time that happens, I'm like, man,
- 33:58I look to see if that engines on. I'm like, man,
- 34:00I'm not going out there. I don't know where that. I don't know
- 34:02where that comes from. Actually, what you want to do is you want
- 34:06to You want to because you step out onto the the mobile stairs that they
- 34:08wheel up to the side of the plane. Right, you step out onto
- 34:12that first platform before there's a step, and you start to make that first
- 34:15step, and you look to your left and you go, hey, that
- 34:19thing's on. So you stop. You turn around and you walk back into
- 34:22the plane and you try to stick your head in around the corner to the
- 34:25to the cockpit and go, hey, boss um, would you mind killing
- 34:32that engine we plane because it makes me real uncomfortable? Yeah, I again.
- 34:39And that's one of those weird things that somebody said. Has to be
- 34:43like as we were kids, like you know, it always has to be
- 34:47like somebody knew somebody like hey, some Soonzo's dad got sucking to an engine.
- 34:51When I was in middle school, it was always someone would say,
- 34:53oh I saw this on the on the Faces of Death tape. Yeah,
- 34:58yeah, something like that. Mine was like I think my dad was like,
- 35:00you know you can if you're if you're standing too close to it.
- 35:04It's like it's the same thing with me, like horses, like if either
- 35:07like if you stand behind a horse, they'll kick you. Yeah. So
- 35:09whenever I see somebody like i'll see it on TV when you're like, in
- 35:13this is our horse whatever, and then just walk around it, I'm like,
- 35:15he's gonna he's he's about to kick you. Yeah, exactly know.
- 35:17I do the same thing with horses also, So it's like i'll walk,
- 35:21I'll walk around what about three quarters of that horse. Yeah, I'll stay
- 35:27right next to the horse, no problem. But once I get here that
- 35:30ass end I've been bow out like it's a jet engine. Yes, yeah,
- 35:35I want to make sure i'm at least twice as far away as that
- 35:39horse's leg length is. Yeah. And I've never been around a horse that's
- 35:45done that or it's kicked anybody because you walked around it. But I've i
- 35:47heard it so many times. It's the same thing with the engine, like
- 35:51the exact same fear. I don't know what it is. I'm like,
- 35:53I'll see people I'm like, man, don't you walk behind that horse.
- 35:55He's gonna kick you in the skull. Like that's and that's there's always somebody
- 36:00like, you know, my uncle is not right anymore because you got kicked
- 36:04by horse and I'm like, all right, now, now I have another
- 36:07thing. Heights wasn't enough. Now I'm scared of a jet engine and a
- 36:10horse. This is also a perfect time for me to insert to wedge into
- 36:15the conversation, just briefly, a quick anecdote from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation,
- 36:21because this scenario kind of came up in the movie because as cousin Eddie's family
- 36:25randomly shows up at the Griswolds, they're introducing their their their little kids,
- 36:30right, and a little girl. When they're introducing her to the grandparents,
- 36:34the granny leans down and goes, oh, her eyes aren't crossed anymore.
- 36:37And that's when Cousin Eddie says, yeah, you know you well, you
- 36:40know she fell in a well, eyes went cross. You got kicked by
- 36:44mule They went right back. I don't know. So you see, Raje,
- 36:47if you had seen the movies that I've seen and loved over my lifetime,
- 36:52you would have more of a reference for avoiding you know, mule kicks
- 36:55and horse kicks and things. But in this situation, apparently it was a
- 37:00good thing in this in this situation, supposedly, yeah, yeah, I
- 37:06wouldn't I wouldn't recommend it. I wouldn't. I wouldn't recommend if you have
- 37:09crossed eyes to spend any amount of time behind a donkey or a horse hoping
- 37:15that you get kicked and let your eyes go back. Yeah, it just
- 37:21uh, it just added to the it's so funny that you it's the exact
- 37:24same thing, like I will, I will like, I you can pet
- 37:27a horse, and I can. I can feed it the sugar cubes or
- 37:30the apple or the carrot, whatever it is. And then it's like and
- 37:34then let's go over here, and I will be like, you can fit
- 37:37a semi between me and that horse's ass. I'm like, I'm not getting
- 37:42I don't know what happened. I know some my kid in the neighborhood,
- 37:45his uncle's not right, and that's because he got you got kicked in the
- 37:49head by a horse. And so it's the same still as a forty seven
- 37:53year old man, I can be at an airport, I'm like, you've
- 37:57got to turn that engine off. I'm not going out, Like just the
- 38:00probability, I don't know. I would like to see what the numbers are,
- 38:04because that's even then won't make me feel any better, But I would
- 38:08like to see what that is. Like, I don't know where that comes
- 38:10from, like where these I'm telling I think I think it has to do
- 38:14with I think it has to do with pop culture, whether it's books,
- 38:16movies, television, comic books. Maybe I don't know. Um yeah,
- 38:20but this guy, this guy, this guy's situation now in my head went
- 38:25to see, yeah is justified exactly because though I haven't, I also know
- 38:34that in die Hard Too, he keeps off the off the wing and he
- 38:38that dude gets sucked into the engine and there he goes, he's out,
- 38:42he's done, He's now, he's now liquid. Yeah it didn't that happen
- 38:45in Indiana Jones as well? With the plane with a propeller plan, Yes,
- 38:50that was that was actually I think my first experience with that. So
- 38:53when it came time to visit my dad in Oklahoma after my parents split up,
- 38:59we took like the small prop plane sometimes between Dallas and Tulsa, and
- 39:04I remembered Raiders in the Lost Dark, and I made sure to stay far
- 39:07away from those goddamn propellers. Yeah, it's the same thing. Like when
- 39:13like, I don't know why anybody doesn't like it would matter but I've been
- 39:19I've been on helicopters before, and I'll do the whole thing where I ducked
- 39:22down because they're like, you don't want to. I've heard, and I
- 39:24don't know where it comes from. Again, I think it's the same kid
- 39:28in the neighborhood. I don't know what it was wrong. Something tragic happened
- 39:30with him and his family. And aviation and or the equestrian world. Well,
- 39:35I've always I've always been curious as to the reason why everyone would duck
- 39:40when they either approach the helicopter or they're getting out of the helicopter, Because
- 39:45that propeller is really high up. I could stand there completely. I could
- 39:51stand on my tippy toes I'm short enough, or I could probably my vertical
- 39:54is not great. I could probably leap into the air and my head would
- 39:58come nowhere near that propeller. But having seen it so many times in movies
- 40:05and television and things, I do it if if if I meanywhere near a
- 40:08helicopter, hell, I do it. If one's flying overhead, I go
- 40:12oh wait. But it makes you wonder when people do that. Has there
- 40:17ever been a time where that propeller like reached down and got somebody. I've
- 40:22heard that story. That's why I do it. Someone's like, hey,
- 40:25they were just walking like it always happens where they were caught off guard.
- 40:30Uh, and so they just like they were just walking and then no more
- 40:35head. And so I'm like, you know what, I'd rather look like
- 40:37an idiot and duck down front of something that's nowhere near my head. But
- 40:42I will do the whole duck down thing. It's close enough, I mean
- 40:46anytime. I mean, if you wouldn't stick your hand that close to a
- 40:51fan blade, that might cut it off. So it does make a little
- 40:53sense that, you know, a little sad I'm nervous about stick in my
- 40:58hand anywhere near my ornato fan and screw a disposal. Yes see. That's
- 41:08another thing, is that it coming on by itself. Oh. I cannot
- 41:13tell you how many times I've had to actually reach into the disposal to find
- 41:19like a spoon or something went in there and I've got to pull it out.
- 41:22So I make sure what I do is instead of going underneath the sink
- 41:27and turning it off, and I don't do that, instead of going to
- 41:30the circuit breaker in the house and turning off the circuit breaker. I don't
- 41:36do that. What I do is I get in my car. I start
- 41:38my car, and I drive to the nearest power substation and I hack it
- 41:45to death with an axe. Then I drive back home. Then I go
- 41:51inside turn off the breaker. Then I go to the disposal turn it off.
- 41:55Then I will use some kitchen tongs to reach in and try to find
- 42:00the object first before my fleshy hand goes in there. Yeah, I just
- 42:05move. I just move something stuck in the spoils. That's it. List
- 42:08the house. I'm gone. I put this bitch on Zilo. What is
- 42:15the tree? Maybe called the power company and bitch, hey, can you
- 42:19get my power? You're gonna listen to song Zilo. It's a beautiful home.
- 42:23It's four bedrooms, furnished, three and a half path, it's fully

- 43:02people in that sort of a hairy scenario. Yeah, Dan, that's that
- 43:06is a hairy situation, and it's always better to be prepared for those.
- 43:09We've run in at least three times in the last month where a home was
- 43:14up for sale and they of course got an offer on it because the homes
- 43:19are still selling here really fast, and they had the buyer had their inspector
- 43:22come out, jump up on the roof and guess what, the roof has
- 43:25a ton of hell damage. And so now the seller is sitting here scrambling
- 43:30because they have what's called an option period. I know you're aware of that,
- 43:32and their buyers saying, hey, I want thirty thousand dollars concession,
- 43:37or I want to be able to pick my roof and I want to have
- 43:40this color to it, and I want to do this, and well,
- 43:43now the seller's sitting there going, well, if the transaction falls through,
- 43:46I'm going to have this roof on this house that I don't want. If
- 43:49you're thinking about selling your home and you don't know what your roof looks like,

- 43:58you some pictures, we'll give us an assessment. Because you do not want
- 44:00to wait till option period and figure out that your roof has to be replaced
- 44:05before you sell your home. Yeah, option period is where deals go to

- 47:05actually there actually is a popular example in North Texas of someone walking into a
- 47:13propeller or the helicopter thing. I think, I think this was a plane.
- 47:15This is how, this is how, this is how this starts.
- 47:19This is you. You're both the kids in the neighborhood tell these stories and
- 47:22that gets stuck in my head and creates an irrational fear. That's what you
- 47:25guys are doing right now. No, there was there was that girl as
- 47:29she was a blogger and think it happened out in McKinney where she got hit
- 47:35by the a propeller of a plane. That's exactly what happens. They were,
- 47:39it was her and her family. They were doing a Christmas lights flighty
- 47:45and I can't remember if it was a propeller on a plane or if it
- 47:49was the rear propeller and a helicopter, but whatever it was, she basically
- 47:52turned and somehow walked into the propeller. U it took off. I think
- 47:58I know it took off. Her arm. I think it um like part
- 48:01of her. I think she lost an eye. And I actually saw her
- 48:07once outside of Larry North Fitness. I want to say. It was like,
- 48:15why are you laughing? I walk this this was this is back when
- 48:19Larry North had his location, uh in Preston Hollow. It was royal in
- 48:23Preston and Dallas. And I'm leaving the gym and I see her. I
- 48:27think she was walking in and because we had covered the story so much on
- 48:31the show, I recognize. I was like, Hey, that's the girl.
- 48:37That what because do you not recognize her? What do you work too
- 48:47many jokes? I'm sorry, jokes like what do you work about today?
- 48:52Arm? You know you can still due leg press. She's just jacked Jack
- 49:07legs. Oh that is so I'm not this poor woman. Yeah, that
- 49:13is it is. It's a terrible tragedy, Raj. This is what happens
- 49:16is now. Now I'm gonna that's I'm not gonna ever be able to go
- 49:21see Christmas lights ever again. I can never. Every time you see Christmas
- 49:25lights, you're gonna be thinking about the one armed woman. That's exactly what
- 49:29I will do that you you, that's exactly what happens now is now every
- 49:32time I'm thinking about the one armed woman with jacked legs? Did you say
- 49:40anything to know? What? Am I gonna say? Hey? Hey,
- 49:46you're the propeller girl. I mean, there's just too much happening. I
- 49:52really think, I really think it's best in that scenario. So typically,
- 49:55when I see people that I recognize, whether it's a celebrity or someone who's
- 50:00been in the news for various reasons, I just kind of like, Okay,
- 50:02there's that person. I just go about my day. I don't necessarily
- 50:06ask them or or call it out and or be like, hey can I
- 50:09get a selfie with you or something like some people would. Yeah, yeah,
- 50:15I just typically leave them alone. But how do you know that that
- 50:19was her? Well, like I said, I mean, we had covered
- 50:22the story pretty extensively on the radio show at the time, and that's why
- 50:25I remember to this day that that it had happened, and it was a
- 50:30huge story. It was it was worldwide that people knew about it. I've
- 50:34never heard this really, really, no, no, I have half of
- 50:38mine that you guys are making this up completely. No, no, no,
- 50:42I'm not. I just pulled it up just now from NBCDFW dot com.
- 50:45This is dated December fifth, twenty eleven. The editor of a Dallas
- 50:50area online fashion magazine has been severely heard after after walking into the propeller of
- 50:54a small airplane following a flight to view Christmas lights. A spokeswoman at Arkland
- 51:00says twenty three year old Lauren Scruggs of Plano was in serious condition. They
- 51:06said, we don't know if she realizes all that happened. She's just discovering
- 51:08now that she's heard and that she's injured. That's according to her father.
- 51:13Oh so she didn't even Yeah, it was that fast, I imagine.
- 51:16They also say, we don't know if she remembers the accident. I don't
- 51:19know if they've I'm sure they've gone to follow up to this story. Maybe
- 51:22she says, whether or not she's remembered any of it, that is so
- 51:25crazy. The FAA says the accident happened on a Saturday night at Arrow Country
- 51:31Airport, at private airport in McKinney, which is thirty miles north of Dallas.
- 51:36A family spokeswoman says Scruggs had just gotten off the private plane and went
- 51:39to think the pilot, not realizing the propeller was still powering down, so
- 51:45I'm okay. She tried to shield her face and lost her left hand in
- 51:50the accident. She also suffered head, brain, and shoulder injuries. According
- 51:57to the spokeswoman, there was a tremendous impact on her left eye, and
- 52:00they were going to take the eye, but for right now they have kept
- 52:02the eye in because they saw a little bit of something that made them think
- 52:06that perhaps she would not lose her left eye. Okay, so it's a
- 52:09real story, Yes, Okay, Now I feel terrible for a laugh.
- 52:15You should i'd making fun of her for working out. I mean because I
- 52:21didn't. I legitally didn't think the story was real. No, I feel
- 52:24ter So do you think every story that you've ever heard about, you know,
- 52:28propeller accidents or things like this, were just made up? But you
- 52:30still, you know, don't walk into propeller's just because just in case they
- 52:35might be real. That is a one hundred percent correct the whole I had
- 52:40this guy in San Antonio not got sucked into a delta flight, I would
- 52:45be like, Okay, that doesn't really happen, but I will avoid the
- 52:50engine. The horse doesn't. I've never seen a horse kick anybody ever.
- 52:52And I've been around horses, I've never seen it happen. But I will
- 52:59literally go wherever the furthest possible point to to to go around. Yeah.
- 53:05Now, maybe what I'll do, Maybe what I'll do for you rise is
- 53:07the rest of today. I will spend some dedicated time on YouTube and and
- 53:13send you link after link of horses kicking people. This is the worst yes
- 53:17date ever, and maybe it's because not what I had in mind. I
- 53:24wanted Italian people getting kicked in the face by horse. I'll see if I
- 53:29can find Italians getting kicked by horses. How about that? This is the
- 53:36best yes date every Oh wait, I'm already here. Don't forget to join
