Transcript
- 0:00Happy Wednesday morning, everybody.
- 0:03It's early. I got up.
- 0:05I think I'm still on that European time.
- 0:10I have a song on my mind. It's like a tick.
- 0:12I got to get it out. It's by Dua Lipa.
- 0:16I come man, I go. Houdini, sabi dabi dab Houdini.
- 0:23I will worry about the words later.
- 0:25Right now I go man, I go hootie. All right, listen, Corey Lajoie,
- 0:37Randy Lajoie's son, he is he, he stirred up some controversy by
- 0:44telling the truth. Couple days ago, Bob Pockrass
- 0:50asked Corey Lajoie why doesn't he just, you know, kind of
- 0:55consider running the Truck Series, the Xfinity Series when
- 0:59things are going so difficult for Corey, having a hard time
- 1:02staying in the Cup Series full time.
- 1:06So Corey Lajoie is going to run limited Cup racing and he's
- 1:12going to do some TV and I think it's fantastic.
- 1:18Guess who it reminds me of? Me, Corey Lajoie reminds me of
- 1:24me. Of course I raced a lot.
- 1:30I'm the king at that 905 NASCAR races.
- 1:35We're talking about me right now.
- 1:37I'm telling you, I can relate with Corey Lajoie.
- 1:40This is controversy. This is the story in the garage
- 1:43area. There's a lot of crew members
- 1:45upset with Corey right now because Corey said I'd rather
- 1:50run a limited Cup series than to run the full Xfinity and Truck
- 1:55Series because there's 12 people in the grandstands on Saturdays.
- 2:00That's what Corey said. He said there's, he said my
- 2:04sponsors want me to run some Cup races rather than run the full
- 2:09Xfinity or Truck. Corey's right and it was hard
- 2:15for people to hear, but I'm the king at all that, so I'm going
- 2:20to respond. I have the most starts in the
- 2:23Xfinity Series right now. I do.
- 2:26And my dear friend Justin Allgire.
- 2:31And there's one other person that are within a couple years
- 2:34of of, you know, beating me for starts.
- 2:38So, you know, I got, I got what, 5?
- 2:40Let's go look real quick. How many NASCAR gave me a trophy
- 2:44for having the most starts in the Xfinity Series?
- 2:49Let me see. There it is.
- 2:54So NASCAR gave me this right there.
- 2:58Kenny Wallace 547 NASCAR starts in the Xfinity Series most all
- 3:05time. Nobody better than me.
- 3:09I win. All right?
- 3:13So anyway, Corey's simply saying, look, when people race
- 3:22on Saturdays, whether it's Truck or Xfinity, there's like 12
- 3:26people watching. Well, he exaggerated, but he's
- 3:30right. And I want to tell you the joke,
- 3:35the joke with some people, when, when, when I was racing in the
- 3:39Xfinity Series, it was always my, my backup.
- 3:43In other words, if, if I couldn't make it in the Cup
- 3:46Series, which I admit, I was always AB driver.
- 3:49I was always AB driver. But people would say to me, oh,
- 3:54what do you run? I'm like, I run the Xfinity
- 3:57Series. You know what their smart ass
- 3:59response to me was all the time? Oh, is, is the Xfinity Series is
- 4:04that NASCAR would piss me off. I'm going to knock them out
- 4:08'cause it hurt my feelings, but they were right.
- 4:15So all the money and all the eyes are on Sunday and it's hard
- 4:22to hear. Listen, Corey Lajoie is right,
- 4:25and I want to tell you that I feel bad for Justin Algar.
- 4:31Here's a kid winning almost 30 Xfinity races now.
- 4:36They threw him a bone because they're going to let they're
- 4:38going to let Justin run Dale Earnhardt, Junior Kelly
- 4:43Earnhardt. They're going to let him run the
- 4:45number 40. They're going to they're going
- 4:47to file an entry for the Daytona 500.
- 4:49And that's really nice of them. But listen, I just showed you
- 4:57I'm I'm the mayor of the Xfinity Series and I keep reminding you
- 5:00because I'm all I'm hurt some feelings today and I want to
- 5:03remind everybody this ain't nobody give a flying about the
- 5:08Xfinity Series or the Truck Series.
- 5:11It is hard to hear and it it hurt me.
- 5:14If it's so great, how come Justin Ogar, my dear friend, my
- 5:18family friend ain't big time right now.
- 5:23Now it's true. A lot of people go through the
- 5:26Xfinity Series. That's the right way to do it.
- 5:28You need to go through the Xfinity Series to make it to the
- 5:32Cup Series and it is a great stepping stone.
- 5:37Listen, I'm part of the NASCAR alumni.
- 5:41I love NASCAR, but sometimes you know, the truth will set you
- 5:46free. So for all of you that got ass
- 5:49hurt, take a step back and and and see through the lens of
- 5:54people that have been through it.
- 5:57Now, like I said, this series has always been there for me and
- 6:01I and I'm mayor of the Xfinity Series and I and I've got 11
- 6:04truck starts, 905 NASCAR starts, 345 Cup starts.
- 6:12Add it all together, I got 905 NASCAR starts.
- 6:15Now, I'm I'm tired of bragging on myself, but I just got to
- 6:19drive the point home that I know nobody knows more than me except
- 6:22I do. What I'm saying to all of you is
- 6:26that Corey Lajoie is exactly right.
- 6:29Some people would say I'd rather win some races in the Xfinity
- 6:32Series than the run 20th in the Cup Series.
- 6:36That's bull. Let me tell you something.
- 6:39I'm going to tell you a little secret right now.
- 6:42And I, I know this is hard to hear.
- 6:46I ran 20th in the Cup series all the time and I made five times
- 6:52the money doing it. And I know, I know you can just,
- 6:56hey, listen, the great Dick Trickle, you know what Trickle
- 6:59would say? As long as you can justify it.
- 7:03That's what Trickle would say, as long as you can justify it.
- 7:07I got 9 NASCAR Xfinity wins and it's nice.
- 7:11And I won a couple races at Martinsville right there.
- 7:15There's there's one of the grandfather clocks.
- 7:19I got two of those grandfather clocks.
- 7:21My house, my garage, Ding Dong Dong Dong.
- 7:23It's a reminder. You know how much those races
- 7:26pay to win. You can run 20th in the Cup
- 7:31Series and make 10 times what it paid winning those Xfinity
- 7:35races. So it's all fine and good to
- 7:37hear that. Oh, I'm winning in the Xfinity
- 7:39Series, but it does not pay the bills.
- 7:43It does not pay the bills. It winning in the Xfinity Series
- 7:47is like winning in the Lucas Hall dirt racing or winning in
- 7:51the World of Outlaw late Models or or winning in the World of
- 7:55Outlaw Sprint cars. I'm going to say it again.
- 7:59Winning in the Xfinity Series, winning in the Truck Series,
- 8:04that's like winning big races on dirt.
- 8:07It don't pay the bills. So I'm excited for you, Corey.
- 8:13Corey, the joy sounds balanced. Run, run some cup races, run a
- 8:18limited amount. Go over here and do a lot of TV.
- 8:23See, that's what I did. And buddy, the money started
- 8:26rolling in. Corey La Joy's going to make way
- 8:30more money. Hey, listen, let's be honest.
- 8:32Corey's late in the game. He's a man now.
- 8:34It ain't like he's starting his career.
- 8:36This was one of the best moves in Corey La Joy's life.
- 8:40When you're a racer like me, it's hard to it's hard to hear
- 8:44people going. You need to do TVI hated TVI
- 8:50didn't like TV, but they said you're really good at TV, Kenny.
- 8:54I'm like, so Corey, congratulations, make a lot of
- 8:59money. Make a lot of money in the Cubs
- 9:01series, run 20th, run 25th and make some good, good money.
- 9:09You run 25th in the Cubs series, you'll wait.
- 9:11You'll make way more than winning an Xfinity race.
- 9:13It's a fact because I know. So I'm the one to have enough
- 9:18balls to come out and support Corey Lajoie.
- 9:20Now you all respond right here since you all don't race.
- 9:24And for all you crew members who got your ass hurt over that, you
- 9:27don't know what you're talking about because you, you just, you
- 9:30got to ass hurt. That's all.
- 9:32I said what I said and I mean it.
- 9:36I said what I said and I mean it.
- 9:38And I'm not apologizing. So you can respond right here
- 9:41all you want, but I'm right. Go Cory Lajoie sounds to me once
- 9:47again. I'm going to say it again.
- 9:48You're balanced, all right? I think I made my point.
- 9:55I thought I needed to help Corey because I saw a lot of people
- 9:57being smart asses. Oh, how hey, Corey, you know,
- 10:01they're at Rockingham right now. And there was practice
- 10:03yesterday. Somebody got on an X and go,
- 10:05hey, look, look, Corey, there's, there's more than 12 people
- 10:08here. I'm like, oh, here we go, here
- 10:11we go. So I had to fix it.
- 10:14Respond right here. And by the way, nobody loves
- 10:17Rockingham more than me. I dream about that place.
- 10:21I'm happy to see everybody back there.
- 10:23Almost made me want to get a car and go race there, but I ain't
- 10:28going through that. I'm having fun.
- 10:30I love my life so much right now.
- 10:31It's crazy. All right, everybody, happy
- 10:35Wednesday. Lots of love.
