- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with on our radio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcasts. We're back today
- 0:10Speaker 2: with another recap of the Ultimate Girls Trip. Lauren is
- 0:15Speaker 2: here obviously.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Hello.
- 0:18Speaker 2: We are heading to Beverly Hills on this road trip.
- 0:24Speaker 2: There's a lot to unpack, starting with emotions, Lauren Kyle.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Kyle is emotional because, well, during this filming, it had
- 0:37Speaker 2: been the thirtieth anniversary with Mauricio. He did send her
- 0:42Speaker 2: what I felt like was a sweet text.
- 0:44Speaker 4: I love that text.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I don't know how we got here is the text.
- 0:48Speaker 4: It's so sad.
- 0:51Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know the ins and outs of
- 0:52Speaker 5: their divorce really, but that did seem like a very
- 0:57Speaker 5: genuine text, and that would make me bawl my eyes
- 0:59Speaker 5: out and be like, oh, yeah, I guess they haven't
- 1:02Speaker 5: They haven't divorced yet. And I wouldn't even considered a
- 1:04Speaker 5: divorce or just separated because like money issues. But that
- 1:08Speaker 5: would make me be like, do you want to get
- 1:10Speaker 5: back together?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Because I was so sweet?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Uh? Do you? I mean, I know there's rumors going
- 1:16Speaker 2: around about Kyle and who she's with and Mauricio and
- 1:20Speaker 2: who he's with. This feels like, and I might get
- 1:23Speaker 2: in trouble for saying this, because again, I'm very unfamiliar
- 1:25Speaker 2: with the Real Housewives world and I'm just stepping into it.
- 1:29Speaker 2: But this feels like a movie scene where the two
- 1:31Speaker 2: of them just like get together, the hook up, her
- 1:33Speaker 2: and her husband, her and HER's separated husband, Like do
- 1:37Speaker 2: you think, like on the anniversaries, when he's sending those
- 1:40Speaker 2: kind of texts, like they're just like, Hey, you're a
- 1:43Speaker 2: safe place. I know you, I know your body, I
- 1:46Speaker 2: know like how you deal with the world. Can we
- 1:52Speaker 2: like in a way like like a movie would show
- 1:55Speaker 2: like it's healing or it's really painful. I think it
- 1:57Speaker 2: goes one of two directions. Do you think they get together?
- 1:59Speaker 5: And just like hook I would think they may if
- 2:04Speaker 5: he wasn't such a playboy around town now, like, because
- 2:09Speaker 5: you can't separate yourself from that once you see, like
- 2:11Speaker 5: your husband, that you're separated from hooking up with other people,
- 2:13Speaker 5: or at least I couldn't. I couldn't be like, yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 5: let's just hook up once, because then I'd be like,
- 2:17Speaker 5: what do I look like compared to these other people?
- 2:20Speaker 5: And they're all young and you know all that, And
- 2:24Speaker 5: she's been through such a transformation with him, so I
- 2:26Speaker 5: don't think they would hook up. But I think that
- 2:28Speaker 5: that text was very sweet that like maybe if it
- 2:31Speaker 5: elicited that, then then he would be excited.
- 2:34Speaker 4: But I don't think she would.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Ever do it.
- 2:35Speaker 2: It's interesting, Well, she does find comfort. I think in
- 2:42Speaker 2: some of the other ladies there's actually one person that's
- 2:46Speaker 2: on the vein then with them that isn't divorced.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, Lisa is the only one that has been divorced,
- 2:53Speaker 5: so they all understand what she's going through. I think
- 2:57Speaker 5: that it was semi to her eyes, and Kyle is sober,
- 3:02Speaker 5: She's got she has some issues, and like, obviously that's fine.
- 3:05Speaker 5: But when they're like, let's pop up bot, you need
- 3:08Speaker 5: to drink some non alcoholic champagne, I was like, damn,
- 3:11Speaker 5: don't you just wish you could drink for this one day?
- 3:15Speaker 4: It was so depressing.
- 3:16Speaker 5: I was like if I was on a sprinter with
- 3:18Speaker 5: my friends and I had to have a non alcoholic
- 3:21Speaker 5: champagne on my thirtieth anniversary depression. But anyways, yeah, so
- 3:26Speaker 5: they all are trying to make her feel better, they
- 3:28Speaker 5: all understand the pain. And then she's talking to Vicky
- 3:31Speaker 5: about her divorce, and Vicky is still traumatized by her.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Divorce fourteen years later, which I think probably sets Kyle
- 3:41Speaker 2: back a bit and goes, I don't want to be
- 3:44Speaker 2: I know this sad for fourteen for fourteen.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Years, I mean you really you could be. I know
- 3:51Speaker 5: that Vicky holds on at things for a very long time,
- 3:54Speaker 5: and she's like hyper emotional, like a rollercoaster. So I
- 3:58Speaker 5: think Kyle is more even keeled in that. But I mean, yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 5: I'm thinking I've never been divorced, but I'm pretty sure
- 4:04Speaker 5: being sad about it for the rest of your life
- 4:06Speaker 5: is a thing.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I mean, I would imagine that. It also doesn't help
- 4:12Speaker 2: that it doesn't feel like they hate each other, right,
- 4:15Speaker 2: It still feels like they're for the most part, they're
- 4:18Speaker 2: separated for a reason. I'm sure that wasn't like all
- 4:21Speaker 2: rainbows and butterflies, But it does feel like there's pain
- 4:25Speaker 2: still there, like a lingering amount of hey, I wish
- 4:28Speaker 2: we could have done this, or I miss you in
- 4:31Speaker 2: some way, or and so yeah, I do. I think
- 4:34Speaker 2: with all those things lining up, this will be painful
- 4:38Speaker 2: for a long time because you can't just rip the
- 4:40Speaker 2: bandit off and say I'm moving on.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Yeah, but it just flashed forward since we're talking about Mauricio.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I just want to go to the ugly leather pants
- 4:53Speaker 5: party at Sutton's house real quick. Where Gizelle brings up, well,
- 4:57Speaker 5: where Kyle brings up when Giselle said that she thinks
- 5:01Speaker 5: Marisio is the hottest like house husband and she would
- 5:04Speaker 5: like to lay horizontal with him, Like what a crazy
- 5:08Speaker 5: thing to say about any fellow housewife. And it's just
- 5:13Speaker 5: super awkward. And that kind of just goes to show like, Yes,
- 5:17Speaker 5: he's very handsome, which makes him a very easy playboy target.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and he I mean he is out there. I
- 5:24Speaker 2: mean I know who he is because of his relational
- 5:29Speaker 2: like dynamics around town.
- 5:32Speaker 5: I mean he's a rich, good looking guy who golfs right.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, good golfer too. He looks good doing that. Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 2: The they do jump in a van, a sprinter van
- 5:50Speaker 2: to head to a pajama party. Uh. One thing I
- 5:54Speaker 2: was reminded of. I don't even know if I knew it,
- 5:56Speaker 2: but it wasn't. It didn't seem shocking to me. Kyle's
- 5:59Speaker 2: sister is Kathy Hilton, so she has access to the
- 6:04Speaker 2: Hilton property. So they they arrive at the Beverly Hilton.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Kyle is hosting this pajama party for the ladies. Anytime
- 6:15Speaker 2: now these ladies get together, I get nervous, yeah, because
- 6:21Speaker 2: I think I'm almost PTSD in a way of anytime
- 6:25Speaker 2: they sit down to have a good time, it's never
- 6:27Speaker 2: a good time.
- 6:29Speaker 5: I know. That's why I love Luyne so much, because
- 6:32Speaker 5: lu Aenne just simply wants to have a good time.
- 6:34Speaker 5: So they're all sitting around in their pajamas and leu
- 6:39Speaker 5: Aanne facetimes her boyfriend Michael, and I kind of love
- 6:42Speaker 5: what she says about her relationship because she's like, I'm busy,
- 6:45Speaker 5: he's busy. So basically the way we work it out
- 6:48Speaker 5: as we see each other when we can, And I
- 6:49Speaker 5: think that's great for like their age. And then Vicky
- 6:55Speaker 5: is like the highlight of this entire episode for me
- 7:00Speaker 5: is when Luyne ate a piece of chicken and then
- 7:02Speaker 5: just put it down on the plate in front of her,
- 7:04Speaker 5: and Vicky like vomited, like was dry heaving because there
- 7:09Speaker 5: was a half eaten piece of chicken. It wasn't she
- 7:12Speaker 5: chewed it up and then spit it out. It was
- 7:13Speaker 5: just like she took a bite.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Out of it right, that was so weird.
- 7:19Speaker 2: How does she have dinner with others?
- 7:20Speaker 5: How does she do their others? How do you share
- 7:22Speaker 5: an appetizer a bread basket? What does that look like?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Like?
- 7:26Speaker 4: This is so bizarre.
- 7:28Speaker 5: And then Vicky's like Luanne is supposed to be like
- 7:31Speaker 5: the prim and proper countess, but you know she eats
- 7:35Speaker 5: half a chicken. I don't very bizarre. But lu Ayne
- 7:38Speaker 5: wants Vicky to loosen up because she seems very straight
- 7:42Speaker 5: laced and she doesn't have any fun or laugh anymore.
- 7:44Speaker 5: All she thinks about his life insurance. But the thing
- 7:49Speaker 5: I thought was hilarious was when Luayanne called out, you
- 7:53Speaker 5: wouldn't think this is funny, Ben, but I think the
- 7:55Speaker 5: shade of her be like your pajamas are polyester, darling,
- 7:58Speaker 5: they'll dry just fine.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Like that is so embarrassing.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I would hate for any of these women that
- 8:06Speaker 2: come into my home and see my closet.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Oh my god, I know, I know, yeah, not the Countess.
- 8:11Speaker 2: In fact, I wore a shirt the other day and
- 8:16Speaker 2: then Jess and I were looking through old pictures. That
- 8:18Speaker 2: shirt is from the eighth.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Grade, stop it right now.
- 8:22Speaker 2: And I took pride in it like, I didn't see
- 8:25Speaker 2: it as a bad thing. I see it as a
- 8:27Speaker 2: is a good thing and great quality. Back in the
- 8:31Speaker 2: eighth grade days, Yes, I could agree. It's still working.
- 8:34Speaker 2: It was a golf shirt and I had a picture
- 8:36Speaker 2: of me popping my collar with it back when that
- 8:39Speaker 2: was cool.
- 8:40Speaker 4: So good. You had Lacost shirts.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like the Lacost shirt with the pop collar and
- 8:45Speaker 2: the seashell necklace. So good, and that was me.
- 8:48Speaker 5: I need to know how many golf shirts you have
- 8:50Speaker 5: in your closet, like.
- 8:52Speaker 2: So many, so many, so many. I am totally prepared,
- 8:56Speaker 2: Lauren to become a forty year old dad who whereas
- 9:00Speaker 2: golf shirts tucked into his khakis to everything.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that just seems to be it. And
- 9:06Speaker 5: you have to get a new golf shirt at every
- 9:08Speaker 5: course you play, yeah, yeah, yeah, And you're not gonna
- 9:11Speaker 5: get rid of it because like, oh I had a
- 9:12Speaker 5: good time that day.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah no, I'll have just logoed out golf shirts everywhere
- 9:17Speaker 2: with the quarter zip for the rest of my life.
- 9:19Speaker 4: It's okay, Yeah, that's all right.
- 9:22Speaker 2: It's good.
- 9:22Speaker 4: It's good.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It's working for me. I have another kid on the waist.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I know something Good's happening in my household.
- 9:27Speaker 5: I know.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, she's still into it. You were hinting at the
- 9:43Speaker 2: fact that they wanted people loosen up because overall, and
- 9:45Speaker 2: I mentioned it, I'm so nervous that these things are
- 9:48Speaker 2: going to go sideways. This felt like a really fun gathering.
- 9:52Speaker 2: In fact, Lisa says she's having the best time. She
- 9:55Speaker 2: quotes saying that her SLC friends like don't make her
- 9:59Speaker 2: laugh like this, Yeah, they aren't the way these women are.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Do you think this was the hope with This Girl's
- 10:07Speaker 2: Ultimate Girls Trip, was that they would bring these stars
- 10:10Speaker 2: together and they would get along. Or do you think
- 10:13Speaker 2: drama was the motivation?
- 10:15Speaker 5: I would think probably majority of fun because they're reliving
- 10:18Speaker 5: like memories that were once dramatic, but now they're just
- 10:21Speaker 5: so ridiculous and they're so funny, like we see with
- 10:24Speaker 5: the release the rat or whatever the hell that game was.
- 10:28Speaker 5: But Lisa is having so much fun with Porsche, and
- 10:31Speaker 5: she looks at pors She's like, have you always been
- 10:32Speaker 5: this way? Like a fun person. It's like she's never
- 10:35Speaker 5: met a fun person in her life before. I felt
- 10:39Speaker 5: really good for her. I'm glad that she's having a
- 10:41Speaker 5: good time because, like what they're just tworking and drinking, Like,
- 10:43Speaker 5: come on, have a good time, have a blast, have
- 10:46Speaker 5: a blast. Ashley would have hated that twerking moment.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Twirking and drinking. Yeah, is that what girls actually always feels?
- 10:55Speaker 2: Is that what girls do when they get together? They
- 10:57Speaker 2: just drink and twerk.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Not my friends, but maybe like maybe a lot of
- 11:01Speaker 5: girls though.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you could see it, you could see that that
- 11:03Speaker 2: would be a fun pastime to get like to get together.
- 11:08Speaker 2: By the way, Ashley, twirking is hilarious image of my
- 11:11Speaker 2: head right now.
- 11:11Speaker 4: I'd rather die and see it.
- 11:13Speaker 2: I want to see it. I think it'd be amazing.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Well, if we do get to see Ashley later on
- 11:21Speaker 5: in this season.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Who knows.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I hope we do.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I know that would be amazing. Maybe Portia could teach
- 11:27Speaker 5: her how to twork. That she would need a lesson
- 11:30Speaker 5: from the best.
- 11:31Speaker 2: The best, maybe the best to get Ashley to a
- 11:35Speaker 2: place of watchability. Oh that's all we're looking for. Just
- 11:41Speaker 2: we just wanted to be something. We're like, hey, good job, Ashley.
- 11:44Speaker 4: You did it.
- 11:45Speaker 5: We all think of her as a cringey older sister.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Yeah you did. Mention the pants, the ugly leather pants,
- 11:53Speaker 2: luncheon at Sutton's house, Lauren kind of break this down.
- 11:57Speaker 2: What were your takes from this? And then I think
- 12:01Speaker 2: the question within this obviously you brought up the comment,
- 12:05Speaker 2: which I think is a big moment here. Yeah, but
- 12:08Speaker 2: as we kind of close out this whole second episode,
- 12:13Speaker 2: was this an enjoyable watch for you?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Like?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Are you? Are you into it? Yeah?
- 12:18Speaker 5: I was smiling through a lot of it. I was
- 12:19Speaker 5: catching myself smiling because everyone's reliving these very hilarious moments.
- 12:24Speaker 5: And I think that the luncheon was cute making fun
- 12:29Speaker 5: of leather pants, and Crystal was there and she can
- 12:31Speaker 5: poke fun of herself now and be like those pants.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Were ugly, you're right.
- 12:36Speaker 5: And even the fights are kind of resolved very quickly,
- 12:39Speaker 5: like we saw Vicky and Giselle fight, or Vicky and
- 12:42Speaker 5: Teresa fighting on the sprinter and she's like sorry, she
- 12:44Speaker 5: goes okay, I forgive you. And then here even Kylo
- 12:48Speaker 5: was like, Gisella, can't believe you said that about my husband,
- 12:50Speaker 5: and then.
- 12:51Speaker 4: She was like yeah, I know. That was like bad.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Sorry, let's go play Release the Mouse or whatever that is.
- 12:58Speaker 5: So I thought it was enjoyable because we weren't like
- 13:00Speaker 5: perseverating over a certain topic for very long.
- 13:03Speaker 2: And I'm guessing for the audience, like for the big
- 13:06Speaker 2: fans of this, they're enjoying seeing these contestants operat in
- 13:11Speaker 2: a way that is not just battling each other, that
- 13:14Speaker 2: they're going to see a different side of their personalities,
- 13:17Speaker 2: a different side of who they are and how they
- 13:20Speaker 2: interact and what their pains are. That's one thing here.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Is so much of this episode, if we break it down,
- 13:27Speaker 2: is about Kyle and you know, the separation that she's in.
- 13:32Speaker 2: This isn't drama filled. Even her and Mauricio's conversation isn't
- 13:36Speaker 2: drama filled. It's a real life pain and I don't
- 13:40Speaker 2: think we see that very often from my knowledge in
- 13:42Speaker 2: the Housewives franchise is we don't see pains. We see
- 13:46Speaker 2: confrontation and drama. I am enjoying watching these these women
- 13:52Speaker 2: be human. Yeah, I was gonna characters like.
- 13:56Speaker 5: You don't really know a lot of the lore, But
- 13:58Speaker 5: are you enjoying this because it's not so crazy conflict? Y?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you should see my search history. It's wild. There's
- 14:05Speaker 2: a lot of what does this mean? Who is this person? See?
- 14:08Speaker 5: To have chawjgy between to be like, Okay, tell me
- 14:10Speaker 5: a little bit about Crystal and these ugly pants.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing. In the preview for
- 14:16Speaker 2: the next episode, we see kind of a flash to
- 14:20Speaker 2: Kyle's iconic white party. This you would know. I mean,
- 14:26Speaker 2: there's like some white parties out there that I see
- 14:28Speaker 2: on social media sometimes that are like known and big
- 14:32Speaker 2: time celebrities go to them. Is Kyle's known to be
- 14:35Speaker 2: one of those.
- 14:36Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to say, I don't.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Know, Heather, can we tap you in for this?
- 14:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 14:42Speaker 3: So Kyle's party is more notorious for being featured on
- 14:46Speaker 3: the show. So like for a lot of seasons, her
- 14:51Speaker 3: and Mauricio would host this white party. Was it celebrity filled? No,
- 14:56Speaker 3: it was mostly like a family party with how wives
- 15:00Speaker 3: and people connected to them. But it's not like a
- 15:03Speaker 3: known celebrity party like say Ditties was back in the day.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Or like the Kathy Hill and Christmas party, which I'm
- 15:10Speaker 5: sure she's probably trying to make it correct.
- 15:12Speaker 3: The Kathy Hilts and her sister's Christmas party is massive
- 15:16Speaker 3: and that is definitely more celebrity driven.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, that makes more sense. But we do get
- 15:23Speaker 2: to see a flash to this white party, so we
- 15:26Speaker 2: will learn more during the next episode.
- 15:28Speaker 5: I don't know if Luanne and Erica already have beef,
- 15:31Speaker 5: but we see some good drama between two very like
- 15:35Speaker 5: dominant characters from two different franchises.
- 15:37Speaker 4: It's literally East Coast versus West Coast.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I typically in an argument would say East Coast wins, right.
- 15:43Speaker 5: I don't know in this one. I don't know where
- 15:45Speaker 5: Erica is originally from, but I would say she's giving
- 15:49Speaker 5: some East Coast vibes.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Yeah, don't mess it.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Don't mess with Erica.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Oh man, what a what a fun time. Lauren, Thanks
- 15:56Speaker 2: for jumping on and breaking it down. This has been
- 15:58Speaker 2: episode two of the Ultimate Girls Trip. Our hope is
- 16:03Speaker 2: that we get to see Ashley at some point. Who
- 16:05Speaker 2: knows if we will, but we're still breaking it down.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Why you ask, Well, because Ashley is a part of
- 16:11Speaker 2: the Real Housewives franchise, and so everything adjacent or that
- 16:15Speaker 2: could possibly one day involve Ashley is something we want
- 16:18Speaker 2: to talk about here on the Almost Famous podcast. There's
- 16:21Speaker 2: so much crossover just in viewership between the Real Housewives
- 16:26Speaker 2: and The Bachelor as well, So thanks for listening to
- 16:30Speaker 2: us as we start to explore and dive deep into
- 16:35Speaker 2: the world that is the Real Housewives franchise. Hey, until
- 16:39Speaker 2: next time, I've been Ben.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I've been Lauren.
- 16:41Speaker 2: We'll talk to you soon. Everybody.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Hey.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Follow the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast on
